Reunion of Chris and Will

00:00:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hey, everyone. Welcome in, Wolves fans. It is me once again. It is Chris and with me again is Will. Hey, Will.
00:00:16
Will
yes hello hello yes us again isn't it you know um the the classic duo the original uh gsp and daily wolves duo we're back again which one's which yeah
00:00:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yep. The original duo back together. It's like, you know, Batman and Robin and, uh, I won't say who is who. Yeah, I'm not going there. We all, we all know. We all know, given that I was the the original, and but let's not let's not go down that that tangent.

Wolves' Current Status: Victories and Challenges

00:00:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
um But yeah, welcome in everyone. As you listen to this, well, as it's going out on Wednesday morning, it's now Tuesday evening, Tuesday they limit the 11th of February as we record.
00:00:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
And so obviously we are kind of in that limbo area slightly between ah the Blackburn victory in the cup and the forthcoming match against Liverpool. And I suppose it's quite nice in a way to have games on like, you know, we've had a two or three weeks now where there's been like games at a weekend, there's been no mid weeks.
00:01:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
In some ways, I guess that's good for the squad in terms of resting up and recovering, trying to get some people back from injuries.
00:01:14
Will
Mm hmm. Mm hmm.
00:01:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's also created some kind of quiet time now the transfer window's over in terms of like there's not much going on right now, is there really?
00:01:24
Will
Yeah, and I think in a strange way, um especially at I think a club like ours at the moment, the situation we're in, I think no news is good news, if that makes sense. um You know, I'm i'm a lot happier if it's be quieter than for us to have a ah lot to complain about, you know. um So yeah, nice and peaceful, nice and peaceful.
00:01:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah Yeah, I suppose the transfer window closing ended a couple of the drama items that were going on in the background. You know, Lemina, that was dragging on that. He's gone off to Galatasaray now, so that's the end of that.
00:02:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Farewell to his legacy as well.
00:02:05
Will
Yeah.
00:02:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then obviously the Kunya saga with the ah contract is over. We've discussed that in, you know, you just endlessly that's dealt with for now until the summer. And so all of those things that were kind of lingering, I suppose now that drama's over, it's just all kind of like gone back to normal again.

Why Telford for Wolves Women's FA Cup?

00:02:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
So we can potentially take the time to go over a couple of other points of note before we look ahead to the forthcoming weekend, isn't it?
00:02:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
in um We were talking just before we started recording Will about the fact that this weekend just gone obviously as well as the the game we had against Blackburn, the Mighty Wolves women were competing in the FA Cup as well against reigning FA Cup champions Manchester United.
00:02:47
Will
Yeah, yeah.
00:02:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
Now, I watched the game in full. um It was aired live on YouTube on the FA, the Women's e FA Cup channel, um which was great for, you know, but anyone, any Wolves women's fan out there or any, any Wolves fans that wanted to get a hold of it.
00:02:57
Will
Yeah.
00:03:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
And um it was interesting, I thought that they, and I'm not not sure if you're aware of the reasoning here, Will, but because obviously some of the big games the Wolves women have had in the past, whether it's like a big cup tie,
00:03:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
you know, or a certain event, they've played the game at Molyneux, when at the moment, they generally play at Telford.
00:03:19
Will
Yeah.
00:03:23
Will
Yeah. Yeah.
00:03:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
um They held this cup tie, ah arguably one of the biggest cup ties they've had in a while, given that, you know, ah Manu are, you know, up in the super mighty, heady heights of the Super League, and they are f FA Cup reigning champions, they've got, you know,
00:03:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
like, tune from the England squad in there, they've got the Gold Cup winning striker from the World Cup up front, you know, like they're massive in terms of women's football.
00:03:43
Will
Yeah. Yeah.
00:03:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
And um and so they there was discussions about whether that game should be held at Molyneux. And they went away and spoke to, you know, the manager, they spoke to the team and got their input, and they decided to keep it to keep the game at Halford because, you know, men you are used to playing those big stadiums.
00:04:06
Will
Yeah, yeah.
00:04:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
They're used to playing empty big stadiums because obviously, sadly, the women's game doesn't get as many spectators as it's growing. But, you know, they would struggle to fill somewhere like the Molyneux still.
00:04:17
Will
Yeah.
00:04:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
and um and so And also ah the women's team are used to playing you know in their home ground at Telford week in week out. So for both their routine and to kind of make it feel more full and you know ah exciting, I guess, for the like a more packed crowd to kind of be a bit more intimidating and also the smaller arena, just bring Manu into that.
00:04:36
Will
Yeah, yeah.
00:04:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
experience a bit more. They decided to keep it there and, you know, regardless of the result which we'll get onto in a moment, I actually think that was a ah really nice idea. Were you aware of any of that, Will? I know you don't necessarily follow it as closely.
00:04:52
Will
No, yeah, well, I'm aware that it was at Telford, as you said, I wasn't, I did think, you know, you just mentioned then about some of the, well, bigger games that they played Um, take place at Marlinga, you know, you often see it advertised there. Um, when there's a men's game on June, you know, that the, you know, Saturday three o'clock sort of thing. But I like that. I like the fact that it was at Telford. I think, um, you know, it, it gives it that feeling as well. Not, not just having the home comforts that our team
00:05:26
Will
are used to but i think it gives it that feeling of a proper cup type if you know what i mean and like you said i think the atmosphere and yeah i suppose um i know it's weird to say because you spoke about you know it's been at the heavy heights that they're at but you know that intimidation factor if you like you know sort of um i think that worked a lot better than it would have done if it was a like you said a half empty bigger ground i don't see how wolves women would have gained anything from from that really i think it only would have worked against them so no yeah definitely uh definitely the right call
00:06:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I

Facing Manchester United: Learning from Defeat

00:06:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
think so. um They ended up selling well over 5,000 seats, which is the actually the biggest crowd theyve they've had so far. That's actually bigger than the last time they played at Molyneux. So it did still work to their advantage in many ways, and it was a great atmosphere from what I saw online. I would normally go. um and I said I couldn't go in person because I had some clashes timeline-wise.
00:06:18
Will
yeah yeah
00:06:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
um However, the game itself, you know, it was a great atmosphere. Sadly, you know, the the difference, the golfing class was evident.
00:06:40
Will
Hmm.
00:06:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, the wolves women, they you know, they're like, man you are basically a few divisions divisions above us in terms of the women and they are fully pro, you know, there's only only this season have a couple of the women's players started to get
00:06:50
Will
Yeah.
00:06:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
you know but bright proper full-time contracts and most of them are still working regular jobs and doing this as a ah side passion that's kind of how it is at their level and so you know after after a while it started to show and like I suppose like a lot of classic cook ties the first
00:06:55
Will
Hmm.
00:07:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
20 minutes or so was, I won't say even because it was still menu in, in like dominating, but they were kept, they kept them out for the first goal was until 25 minutes.
00:07:19
Will
Hmm.
00:07:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, there was a energy and a fight and a willingness to try and keep them at bay. But then that first goal came and then, and then the floodgates kind of opened. Uh, the majority of goals coming later in the second half when again, the fit, and the fitness started to tell as well in terms of obviously just the energy levels and things.
00:07:33
Will
Yeah.
00:07:39
Will
Yeah.
00:07:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
And when you chase the ball for that. that amount of time. um So they ended up losing 6-0 to Manchester United this weekend, but it was a great tie and a great experience.
00:07:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think, you know, again, I'm i'm not going to speak for anyone, but i I imagine if that was me, it's a great experience.
00:07:56
Will
Yeah, yeah.
00:07:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Play against your idols as well, um be on the same field.
00:08:01
Will
Yeah, no, of course. And then something you just mentioned there, which I do just want to emphasize, um is the fact that these these women, um some of them aren't even, you know, it's just part time.
00:08:15
Will
You know, um and I was just thinking of it then whilst you were talking, I i was trying to think of an equivalent of it for for me, which would probably be if my team were able to play.
00:08:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm hmm.
00:08:28
Will
Vombsgrove sporting or something you know something like that that would be our equivalent and we'd concede a definite sort of double digits but it's just when you spoke about the experience of it to actually be able to go through that as someone who's not even a professional or full-time professional I think yeah like I said it's definitely a special moment and big occasion
00:08:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah, for sure. And so that because um so hopefully, though, you know, walls women will fingers crossed they get promotion this season. They're currently second in the league ah behind Forrest.
00:09:00
Will
Yeah.
00:09:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
Forrest, I believe, have a game in hand there, but it's 35 points to 38. But, you know, so they are pushing. um they've both played 14 oh no of course i'm sorry they've both played 14 so they're actually played the same amount of games finally because for a while forest had a game in hand um but forest are leading by three points but it's it's going to be close it's going to be a ah close close one they uh really need to get out of that division they've been stuck stuck in the uh the FAWPL Premier Division for a long time. And so, fingers crossed they can get out. But I just wanted to to mention that that had happened this weekend. If you missed it, I'm sure it's still available on YouTube um for what it's worth. But if you don't get down there, do, you know, make an effort to get some more of the women's games because
00:09:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
um In the league, they're playing some cracking football. They've won 11 of 14. They're second in the league and and need all the support they can get to get out of this division and hopefully get some more funding as well if they do that you know to get ah get up and get some more contracts and get some more full-time players. That'd be amazing for Wolves.
00:10:10
Will
yeah i mean sorry chris just to add to that where you said get some more funding i think just yeah well i won't go there then i won't go there i'll save my breath but you can gather my thoughts yeah
00:10:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know where you're going. I know where you're going. and
00:10:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
I can, but as with all things as well, you know, you go up a league, it's a bit, I'm not going to say it's because it's far from the super league still, but you know, every, it's like in the, you think to the game that, you know, in terms of championships, Premier League, for example, in terms of just getting players as well, you know, every time you go up a division, it's easier to draw but bigger names, to draw more success, to draw more sponsors and all that kind of stuff.
00:10:40
Will
No, of course, yeah, of course.
00:10:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Because every, every division is a ah bigger marketing fold, right?
00:10:49
Will
Yeah, yeah.
00:10:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
As well, it's not just about as much as it is also about what the club puts in, it's also about what each division brings to its audience.
00:10:58
Will
Yeah, yeah, no, of course.
00:11:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
Just as I do, playing devil's advocate as always will. Playing devil's advocate as always.

Wolves Men's FA Cup and League Outlook

00:11:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
um So ah that aside, the other um thing of note that's probably happened in the last couple of days as well is that obviously we are through, the men's team, sorry, is through, did make it through to the next round.
00:11:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
of the FA Cup and the draw has happened since we last spoke for the next round and would you I mean I'm sure everyone out there by now knows but who who who did we draw in the next round bearing in mind of course bearing in mind I don't know about you Will but going into this I was like you know what there's a couple more big teams out Liverpool are out of the competition there's still some championship teams in there if we can just avoid a couple of you know bogey teams we might be in with a chance to get you know through I don't wanna say easily but you know
00:11:38
Will
Yeah.
00:11:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Easily, so the the next round, but who have we got?
00:11:52
Will
Well, we've done the exact opposite, I think, of getting a um positive draw or an easy draw, just purely based on the fact that Bournemouth, obviously, you know, it could have been a lot worse, like you said, your Liverpool's are out, etc, etc. But Bournemouth, Bournemouth is seventh,
00:12:14
Will
right now you know um and we're sitting at 17th in the league currently um but i still think and maybe this is just sort of just pure sort of bias on my part i'm weirdly confident i think that veto seems to be taking the cup very seriously as we saw and you know again i'm gonna say it on paper
00:12:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm.
00:12:43
Will
we can beat them relatively comfortably. I know that's not the way it's gone this season, but the cups always different. You know, you've got the magic, the magic of the cup, Chris. um So yeah, it could have been worse. um It could have been a lot better though, especially given I was um at work on Monday, and you know, speaking about the cup draw going on later that that evening.
00:13:10
Will
And as you know, Chris, I mean, my dad and family and people I know go to, you know, wolves home and away games. And I just knew I said, I said, I was looking at the teams that were still in. Ben and mine were obviously traveling from the Midlands. I thought, like, Newcastle are still in, Brighton, Bournemouth, you know, as it is going to be all of those teams away. ah And lo and behold, it was. So I think there's a lot of fans who think you know that's just typical but yeah like i said i'm kind of indifferent about it i don't know about yourself but i think could you know it could it could have been worse that's for sure yeah
00:13:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think it's a little bit gutting. Not only is it Bournemouth that it's a way, it's and it's a long trip to the coast for anyone that's going to make it. It can be a pain. And also I do feel that sometimes Bournemouth, not only they're flying and they have, I mean, by their, you know, by their, is it cruel to say by their standards?
00:14:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, maybe they they are.
00:14:08
Will
No, by their kimpot standards, Chris.
00:14:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
they're having OK, they're having a very good season and um even with some injuries and stuff, they're still having a good season.
00:14:11
Will
Yeah.
00:14:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
And um on top of that, you know, they've already beaten us this season as well once. So obviously we still got to play them again in the league as well.
00:14:27
Will
Well, that's something I was going to mention, Savi.
00:14:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
so
00:14:29
Will
The league game, I don't know if you know, I'm pretty sure that the FA Cup fixture is going to be played the first weekend of March, and then we'll waste them in the league literally the following Saturday.
00:14:41
Will
So those fans are going to have to make make that trip that you've just sold so delightfully to them there. They're going to have to make it twice in a massive seven days.
00:14:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's going to be like that. It's going to be like a couple of years ago when we played Brentford in the cup and we played them and we ended up with a, did we end up with a replay at some point?
00:14:56
Will
Yes, yeah.
00:15:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
I feel like we played them or did we have a, there was some reason I feel like we played them like four to six times in the space of about a month.
00:15:01
Will
Maybe, yeah. Was it last season?
00:15:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
It seemed like all we did was play Brentford in a really short space of time.
00:15:10
Will
But if I remember correctly, yeah if I remember correctly, we we won quite a few of those times, didn't we? over of um Yeah.
00:15:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
We did, we did, but it was more the fact that we just literally, it was like, who are we playing this week?
00:15:19
Will
Yeah.
00:15:22
Will
Yeah.
00:15:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Brentford.
00:15:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Who are we playing this week?
00:15:23
Will
Yeah.
00:15:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Brentford. It was always Brentford.
00:15:24
Will
yeah
00:15:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
It was really bizarre. Um, so that's going to happen again with Bournemouth. I mean, there is the possibility that, that also as well about our hopefully improved form, which I'm going to hope we continue to do, um, is that if they are still around, you know, seventh come that time that they might, they might be thinking, actually we could push for Europe here.
00:15:37
Will
Mm-hmm.
00:15:43
Will
yeah Yes, yes, yes. Of course.
00:15:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
do we rest some people in the cup to, you know, focus on the league form? As much as we're battling relegation, they've also got, they're not necessarily just mid-table like they sometimes are, they're actually on the brink of something.
00:16:01
Will
Yeah, no, 100%. And I'll be honest, that's why I was so surprised by Pereira's selection against Blackburn because you just mentioned um we're both in sort of positions where you should be focusing on the league, really. um I don't like to say that because you know the things we'd all do to see wolves with an f fa cup but you know there's a lot more at stake for for both clubs unfortunately for us we're at the opposite end of that um but i do think that could well play a big factor if if we are able to sort of build up a little bit of a gap between us and the bottom three by that point or even if we're not able to do so it still looks as though vtals look for the cup
00:16:46
Will
um So yeah, I know what you mean, but you know, fingers crossed.

Mixed Feelings on Bournemouth Draw

00:16:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, it has. I do wonder, I mean, it may be different by then, depending on, you know, the fixed, they can't talk properly, what our results are in the coming games leading up to that and where we are in the league at that point, whether we've pulled clear at all, or, you know, whether we're sucked back in, um because I feel like this fixture, the first fixture he had in the cup was almost a case of like, okay, I just want to get us winning.
00:17:03
Will
really Yeah.
00:17:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
And, you know, I don't, this is like, yeah I think it was only like,
00:17:18
Will
Yeah. Yeah.
00:17:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
second game or something it wasn't very far in um and then on top of that this one this last cup game he's had a week either side of it it was a very odd one i mean almost seven days either side of the fixture so he could almost a afford to play
00:17:31
Will
Yeah.
00:17:36
Will
Yeah, no, that is true.
00:17:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
a full strength side because there's a huge period of rest either side so he had that that luxury whereas the next one you know if if there's fixtures shuffled around and end up close to it and we are still on the border of the relegation battle then be interesting to see be interesting to see how that goes
00:17:53
Will
Yeah, yeah, that's a fair point.
00:17:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
But um I will take this moment, Will, to remind everyone, of course, the thing I always have to do is to say that here at the Global Sports Podcast Network, we did spend a lot of time selecting our delivery platform, and Zancaster came out the clear winner. 00:18:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
So well, um besides the um the cup okay draw, sorry, against Bournemouth, which, you know, woo-hoo, so excited, so excited.
00:18:36
Will
yeah
00:18:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Honestly, that that name came out of the hat and I was like, oh my gosh. I know we've said that, but genuinely there was such a feeling of disappointment of all the possibilities.
00:18:46
Will
Yeah. Yeah, it's a bit anti-climactic, wasn't it?
00:18:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
I was kind of hoping we get like Millwall or someone, you know, as much as I hate Millwall. um Yeah, just oh well, but fingers crossed. um what is What is ahead of us? Anything

Wolves vs Liverpool: A Hopeful Preview

00:19:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
else ahead of us? The next game of course is Liverpool.
00:19:03
Will
Yeah, um no, that's it. Very much all hands on deck for for that now. um and obviously we just mentioned that they're there I won't say they're in a bad order form but they have just lost in the FA cups that might be a bit of a damper I do fear that could work against us however I just sort of think you know
00:19:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hmm.
00:19:29
Will
I'd love to see Mohamed Salah try and get down the right-hand side when he's got 8-0 and Tosti Gomez to deal with. ah You know, I'm sorry Mo, but I just, I can't ah can't see it happening.
00:19:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
I thought you were gonna say when he's got Rodrigo Gomez and Tottie to deal with, because for me, he's been the sharper of the two.
00:19:46
Will
well Yeah, the reason I say I know he is, there's been a few times we've faced Liverpool, and each time we've played them, and he's had to come up against Salah, he's risen to the occasion every single time.
00:20:02
Will
I think we've spoken about it before, but that was the classic time. I think it was under large when he had to come off injured with about 10, 15 minutes to go, and Kijana Hoover, I think I said that correctly, came on and
00:20:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yep.
00:20:17
Will
effectively gave Liverpool a goal um and sort of undid all of Ait Nuri's hard work, um which I think just, it just emphasised how well Ait Nuri had done, I think.
00:20:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
I remember it well.
00:20:31
Will
um And what was, I think it's only his second season with us at that point as well. um So, you know, I weirdly, again, I think we're in with I think we're in with a chance. and i'm I don't know what I don't know what's going on because the past few weeks, um but I've just felt more optimistic about things. I don't know what that is.
00:20:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, i I have to say there's firstly on your note, I think eight Nori is much better in the wing back position when he's got Totti behind him in in the five because, ah you know, pound for pound individually, if we look at performances this season,
00:21:03
Will
Yes, yeah, yeah. yeah
00:21:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
Even though he hasn't had as many of them, I think defensively, Rodrigo Gomez has actually been a bit sharper than 8 Nori. However, when totsti whenever Totti has been in the lineup, 8 Nori has looked more solid because they experience together, they have more of an understanding, they just seem to click. And when he knows he's got Totti,
00:21:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
behind him that adds that bit more security, it just makes 8 Nori seem to be a bit more confident in what he's doing as well. And maybe maybe the communication's better, I don't know. um But in answer to your other point about, like, just generally seems to be some improvement there the last couple of weeks, I've got the answer for you.
00:21:49
Will
Is it the fact that Tottie Gomez has been back playing?
00:21:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, that's ah that is a factor, but and the true answer is Aga.
00:21:59
Will
yeah Yes, yes, that does help.
00:22:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
The true answer is Agbadou, because whether he's even when he first came in on the left, it did improve everything there. But even more so the last couple when he's played in the middle, he's just...
00:22:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know we mentioned him a bit in our match responses.
00:22:14
Will
Yeah.
00:22:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
But he's just put so much confidence in that back line and the way he dictates everything and controls everyone. And, you know, yeah it looks like he's been in there for longer than he has because he just come in with that stamp of authority and and just seems to make everyone feel more confident. And he's just so strong on the ball. And it's just, I feel it's the agar factor.
00:22:39
Will
Yes, no, I don't disagree I think it certainly makes a difference um I also think it's the fact that we sort of after our last game was the game before in the league I'm not too sure I can't I can't remember which one but we point is we leapfrogged Leicester to send them into the relegation zone um and i think i think now i'm for those who can't see i'm touching wood now i'm touching my desk that is i'm touching my desk just to clarify um i think that's it now that that bottom three i think that's you know south hampton and ip switch down but it it was at one point a sort of
00:23:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Raising.
00:23:22
Will
three horse race if you like between us Lester and Everton, Everton then managed to pull away from us a bit. um I just think I don't know there's something about us being outside of that line and having something to hold on to with the strength of a solid defence which you just mentioned that's just sort of I don't know it's lifted my spirits a bit
00:23:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think it's still a bit, I get the confidence. We were outside of the relegation zone after the previous few wins, and then we had the run of losses against the likes of Forrest and you know Newcastle and everything.
00:23:54
Will
Mmm.
00:23:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then we got stuck back in because Ipswich had a couple of good wins. um So I don't think it's, you know, it's not out of the realms of possibility with the still to play in the next couple of games like Liverpool and Bournemouth, for example.
00:24:05
Will
No, of course.
00:24:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Ipswich have shown that on their day, you know, that they're capable of really getting stuck in and pulling some p points out the bag. ah But I do think overall, there's been, as I say, for me, it is the Agafactor.
00:24:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
It just seems a lot more solid at the back. And with him and Totti, like these, the clean sheets and just the ah surety,
00:24:30
Will
Yes, yes.
00:24:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
i'm also I've been meaning to check the stats actually. We may have to check this for the next um chat we have.
00:24:35
Will
nice
00:24:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
is in terms of Because obviously set pieces have been our weakness. But how many of the goals since Aga came in have been from set pieces? That's the thought that just crossed my mind.
00:24:47
Will
it's It's a good point. i'll um I'll give you, I can't give you the stats you're after, but I can give you a stat that I think we've already mentioned. But I just, I just think it's worth dropping back in there because I, I know you focus on what I like to do and rightly so.
00:25:04
Will
But Armand Tossi, he is, he's kept a clean sheet and I think every game under Pereira that he's played in so far, 4 out of 4.
00:25:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
He has, yeah. I mentioned it last year, 4 out of 4.
00:25:14
Will
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I mean, that alone just goes to show you ah that and as you said, the set pieces sort of stopping, um you know, from conceding those so often that, you know, that that can only be a good thing, you know, and um ah that's where my confidence comes from. I think that the fact that, like I said, we've got we've got the upper hand now, we've got something to hold on to.
00:25:40
Will
and having that solidity um or that newfound solidity ah so long as that lasts we're fine it's you know it's that simple um but obviously that's a big if
00:25:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, because I know that obviously there's the we've had Giga come in and we didn't see him. Obviously he hadn't had enough to game time to come in at the weekend and you don't want to upset a back line as much. but And so he could still come in at some point. But in the meantime, the the height and strength in the air of Totti, Aga and Doc combined, because they're all good headers of the ball.
00:26:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think those three together at the moment are a lot more stable in terms of set pieces. So fingers crossed, and Aga just doesn't like, he he has two people pushing him sometimes and he still doesn't move.
00:26:26
Will
Yeah.
00:26:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
So um that extra strength as well, I think definitely helps.
00:26:30
Will
Yeah, no, 100%, 100%.

Transfer Insights and Player Updates

00:26:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
last thing I want to say Will before we like close out or anything else is in all the videos I've watched this week because obviously they started unveiling some more of the kind of post-transfer behind the scenes videos and all that kind of stuff we I think we mentioned one briefly but since then we've had like the first day at you know training and all this kind of stuff
00:26:43
Will
Yes, yay yeah, yeah.
00:26:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Manetsi might be the most polite, might be competing with Sasha for like the nicest and most polite player we've seen in a while because I don't know if you've like watched much of those or his discussions people but he's like so not only is he supremely well spoken may I add like his voice is
00:27:02
Will
yeah
00:27:07
Will
yeah yeah I've seen one or two we'll
00:27:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
eloquent and clear like everything he says is really crisp i don't know if i is this just me but he's he yeah we should replace you um but he is impeccably spoken come have you noticed that before i go any further have you noticed that
00:27:20
Will
get him on the podcast we'll I've not get him seen as many clips as you appear to have, or if I have then I've not noticed as much as you.
00:27:37
Will
I've seen one or two and I know what you mean. My first impressions were that, again, you know I spoke about the presence I feel like he has around himself when he came on. It's often the case that off the pitch those those kind of players are the sort of opposite of what you'd expect um and i like that i like the humbleness um that that comes with that and yeah again it's not a bad thing
00:28:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, he seems very happy to be here, which is great. ah He seems like just supremely like sweet and kind. and And I'm telling you people, watch those, watch some of those videos and just tell me that he doesn't sound really slick.
00:28:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Like he sounds, you know, I can't explain it. Go go watch it, Will. Honestly, he's he's better spoken than I am. And I like to think I'm fairly well spoken.
00:28:27
Will
You are, you are Chris, don't worry.
00:28:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Thanks, thanks, thanks, everyone. I thanked everyone, but it was Will that said it, but everyone else got the...
00:28:34
Will
No, that they were yeah they were all thinking the same.
00:28:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know, I know. um But there you go, Pete. So not a huge day news-wise. is Is there anything else you wanted to touch on, Will?
00:28:44
Will
um Not apart from the wood that I've been touching since I said that we're gonna be okay and stay up. um
00:28:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I knew, I knew, I knew that was, i I gave you that option and then you even added staying up, but I mean, gosh.
00:28:58
Will
No, they you know that's just that's just you and your mind playing games with your Chris. ah
00:29:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, trust me, there's other people with minds like mine out there.
00:29:07
Will
ah
00:29:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
And you're all listening, all of you.
00:29:09
Will
But though as you said, um or as I said at the start, I think fact the fact that there's been no news per se is in itself good news.
00:29:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, less drama, less

Podcast Plans and Wolves' Future

00:29:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
drama.
00:29:22
Will
and
00:29:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
All right, so, um, we will have coming up this week, I believe a crossover with, uh, some of the Liverpool GSPN crew and to get their thoughts going ahead into the weekend and potentially still some like private chats between us walls fans on it as well.
00:29:30
Will
ah
00:29:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Uh, as we get more news about maybe some injury updates and lineup news going into the weekend, that'd be nice. Um, cause obviously we're still waiting to hear whether how much longer strand last is going to be out.
00:29:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
We haven't heard much about Huang since he went off injured at the weekend. So, um, really hoping we get some news there. I know he's been out of form, but just, you know, we, we want depth, don't we?
00:29:54
Will
Yeah,
00:29:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's more than anything.
00:29:59
Will
yeah yeah
00:30:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's just good to have those options. So I'd like, I'd like to get some more news, but we'll keep you posted on anything we can here at Daily Wolves. Right.
00:30:09
Will
yes sorry sorry chris sorry uh you know i i was um sort of taken aback because i didn't hear i didn't hear a sentence that i expected to hear my bad
00:30:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right. Right.
00:30:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah. Well, i I didn't drop your name. I was thought I was going to get something back but didn't go there. Anyway, so I'll do that. i'll see He makes it into a routine. and All right, people.
00:30:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
So take care. We'll be back soon. And let's keep the faith because remember, out of darkness, come with light.
00:30:38
Will
cometh light
