Introduction and Podcast Overview

Speaker
There's no right way to do it.
00:00:12
Speaker
Oh, we're going to get into it. What up, moms? My name is Candice, and I'm here with my best friend, Whitney. And this is the Mom Group Chat Podcast. And the October catch-up episode.

Kids and Seasonal Joys

00:00:24
Speaker
It's the best month of the year. i actually... thought of you this morning because Alice was talking about Christmas already. I was like, girl, chill.
00:00:35
Speaker
I said, Christmas is still a little bit away. like We have Halloween first. and She was like, oh, okay. I like Halloween. and and Then she goes, I like Halloween and I like winter and I like Christmas.
00:00:47
Speaker
and I was like, okay. She is a girl who knows what she likes. She also kept saying, I like snow. like Snow is my favorite. I was like, girl, you don't even see that. I don't know.
00:00:58
Speaker
Definitely because of Frozen, right? Yeah, yeah, you're right. she's We're in our Frozen era still. Yeah, it's definitely because of Frozen, which um I totally get. they That show's great, or movie, but um I love that she likes Halloween and Christmas. Those are some of my top favorite holidays as well. Yeah. My fall and winter girly. Her new insult to me or or Vinny or Evie is, I'm going to freeze you like if she's upset with us.
00:01:30
Speaker
And she like holds out her hand like Elsa like if as if she's going to freeze me. And I'm like, oh, girl, but I'm scared. That is funny. and green um When mad at like us or margot They were fighting about something in the car, like going back and forth. And he goes, Margo, when I get home, I'm going to squish you.
00:01:53
Speaker
was like, okay, rough and tumbly. and I'm going to squish you. I have to tell the story on here about but like something freaking hilarious that Alice said Vinny this past weekend. Yeah.
00:02:09
Speaker
So Vinny in true like white man fashion is, you know, those videos that you see of girls talking about how guys just constantly are like showing you videos on their phone that like you don't care about. And you're like, uh-huh.
00:02:23
Speaker
So we were laying in bed in the morning and Vinny was showing me some useless video that I do not care about. and And Alice was laying with us. So Alice was watching the video with us and she goes, ha ha, so funny.
00:02:37
Speaker
I do not care.
00:02:40
Speaker
Got him. You were like, thank you, Alice. I i needed you We were, we just were dying laughing because I'm like, wow, it really is just in our genes as women. Like we just do, like, I do not care about your silly little videos. Like it was, it was just like ah so,
00:03:00
Speaker
It was like, if I could speak my true mind, like that's what I would say. And so now all day yesterday and the even this morning, I was like, ha ha, so funny. I do not care.
00:03:14
Speaker
It's ah you're like, thank you, Alice, for being the bad guy. Because I was thinking the same thing. was so funny. You could say the funniest stuff right now. Like um another time when we were driving home.
00:03:28
Speaker
It was last week. Graydon said, which I feel like this is a universal thing.

Childhood Fears and Misconceptions

00:03:34
Speaker
Like you spend a lot of time as a kid worried about quicksand. And so in the car. So true.
00:03:41
Speaker
In the car, he goes, hey, mom, have you ever been in sand quick? Like he mixed it up and called it sand quick. And I was like, no, Graydon, I haven't. But like.
00:03:53
Speaker
You spend a lot of time growing up worried about quicksand. Okay. I have questions. Does quicksand actually exist? Yeah.
00:04:04
Speaker
Like, is it real? And I'm like, we were all worried about it because at google because of Aladdin. It was always. Right. And I think if you played Nintendo 64 growing up with Mario, there was quicksand in that game.
00:04:20
Speaker
What else had quicksand? You think you're going to come. You're going to see it at some time in your life. like How do you get out of it? a true It's so true. It's like you think that you're just going to come upon some quicksand at some point.
00:04:39
Speaker
And you have to stand still. It's so Right? ah like Yeah. So I just Googled. Yeah. I Googled quicksand is real. It's as though the idea of being fully engulfed in it so often depicted in movies is a myth. Quicksand forms and sand becomes so saturated with water that it loses its ability to support weight, creating a mushy liquefied substance that can trap a person.
00:05:02
Speaker
While you cannot be completely sucked under, you can become stuck and face risks like drowning. If the tide rises, blah, blah. blah okay Okay. it's, it can't really suck you under, but it's you're so right about, you spend so much time thinking about it as a kid. and you remember that video that went around of that giraffe caught in quicksand in the five stages of grief?
00:05:27
Speaker
No. Do you remember that? No. Okay. And it's, oh my gosh, I need, i need to find that video and send it to you I can't, I feel like that was like one, it I guess it wasn't really when I was a kid. It was like teenage when YouTube came out.
00:05:42
Speaker
It was like a viral video that went around about a giraffe stuck in quicksand. I don't even know like how he got on the subject. They must talk

Nostalgia and High School Memories

00:05:51
Speaker
about it at school or something, but he made up this whole elaborate story and he said, ah, I have been.
00:05:58
Speaker
and I was like, okay. And he was in a line. Roman empire. Yeah. A lion saved me when I was a baby. He grabbed me with his teeth. That's like, what is this?
00:06:09
Speaker
Wait, wait a second here. and Okay. and Have you ever seen those videos on TikTok of the kids who like lived a previous life and they like remember facts about their previous life? Have we already talked about this? I'm having to.
00:06:23
Speaker
I don't know. I feel like we have a quickand maybe green's fascinated with it. Okay. I fell into this dark hole on TikTok of these kids who like recall very clear, like,
00:06:40
Speaker
memories or facts about their like previous, you know, in quotes, previous life. Like there was a mom on Tik TOK. I'll have to send you the video where, you know, obviously at nine 11 came around and there was like videos on the TV of nine 11. And this little boy was like, I was there.
00:06:57
Speaker
I was there in the tower. The floor got really hot. And like, he knew all the details like that. He was like a man who died in nine 11.
00:07:08
Speaker
and and they And now like he talks about it all the time. He like knows the facts. hes He knew his name. He was like, I had a i had kids. like Andrew was my son. And he's like a four-year-old.
00:07:22
Speaker
Dude, is there a documentary for It's freaky. I would love to watch that. Honestly, there should be. There should be. Yeah, there should be like a whole documentary series on children that like recall their past life.
00:07:34
Speaker
Yeah. I love that. Honestly, free idea for anyone listening. That's like, that sounds so interesting to me. I'm in. Documentaries are so good. Yeah. yeah But yeah, those were some of the funny things that were said recently. um Wait, tell them about the pizza stain. Oh, and then Margo.
00:07:52
Speaker
Well, this just also gives away that I'm disgusting. And I threw on the same dress that I wore Graydon's party. And I'm wearing it right now. Like, I literally was like, I threw it on just to take the kids to school. And i like, showed Margo the bottom eye dress has a pizza stain on it from the party.
00:08:11
Speaker
And I try to be funny and be like, Margo, got blood on my dress. And she came up and she goes, oh, no. And then she goes, that's pizza. Like, okay, you caught me. as they I go, Margo, how did you know she's so funny. And then we both were like laughing.
00:08:30
Speaker
It was funny because she freaking knew. She's like, that's yeah that's pizza. Like, relax. And I'm like, okay, you caught me. Oh, my God. That is so funny yeah uh I really am loving these ages right now like I feel like there was hard times there but I feel like I'm really liking this they're so funny I mean Graydon will be four this week so it's just like woohoo we're entering into golden years but you know there's that like um that video on TikTok where it's like you only have children small children for four years and I'm like
00:09:08
Speaker
Oh, no, we're approaching the four years. And then, yeah, sometimes I feel like he's already he's so groany anyway, and like so independent, and like wants to be alone. Like at one point on Saturday, he was up in his room and I'm like, Graydon, what are you doing?
00:09:24
Speaker
I needed to be alone. I needed a Oh, Alice says that all the time. But she's like, I need to be alone. I need space. Yeah, I think he was having a pity party because woke up from his nap and no one was here yet for his birthday party. So he was kind of wallowing and he was like, and looking out his window, waiting for someone to arrive. And he was like, just want to be alone. Oh my God.
00:09:47
Speaker
That is yeah so funny. Relax. He was like having a pity party. was you a little bit. That is yeah so funny. um But then they came, well you know, so. Okay. Yeah. Well,

Birthday Parties and Family Fun

00:10:01
Speaker
tell us about it. How was Graydon's party? How was your weekend? Give us the, give us the deets.
00:10:06
Speaker
Y'all, we had like such a packed weekend. um And it all started Friday. Like we randomly went to a local high school football game. Um, it's one that, yeah, how was that? was like one that's right up the street. But, um, when Chris was in the ah ER r on Friday, i guess people were all talking about it because it was two local high schools and it was homecoming. So everyone's like, oh yeah, it's going to be a great game. Like they're rivals. And so Chris texted like four of us or five, maybe six of us. And he was like, does ah anyone want to go? Like, it could be fun, something different.
00:10:41
Speaker
And so we were all like, you know what? hell yeah, let's go to a random high school football game, which I have not been to since I was in high school. I was like, what does one do at a high school football game? Like, do we tailgate?
00:10:54
Speaker
Are there jello shots? What do we do? And it was like, I just was like, what do you do at a football game? um But we all went and had Mexican before. So that was fun. And then we classic classic and went to the game and It was so cute and so nostalgic. And like they got to high five the players as they were going on the field. ah the There were so many football players and cheerleaders. I was like, holy moly, this is definitely like public school. Well, I was going to say, do they not have tryouts anymore? Does like everyone make the team? Is that like what happens these days? I have no idea. I think there was like a JV event.
00:11:35
Speaker
team and like ah whatever but it was really cute it was so crowded we didn't realize it was homecoming until it was and um oh my god the student section was wild like confetti poppers did they crown homecoming queen we didn't stay for halftime we were we had to get out of there because the game was at 7 and we stayed until like 30 and it still wasn't even halftime yet so but it was fun we did concession stands we got snow cones there was oh fun we didn't buy anything we got like there was merch but it was really cute they loved it like margo talked about it all weekend she kept calling it baseball it's football she's yeah that's so funny um damn were you i feel like i'm having a memory were you homecoming queen yes
00:12:33
Speaker
one So was Shannon. I'm the ugly duckling. Whatever. please um Yeah. Oh my God. My homecoming queen.
00:12:46
Speaker
yeah I only choose homecoming queens for friends. That's my criteria. Were you homecoming queen high school? That was my last football game was 2010 when I had to go back and crown the new homecoming queen. So that was my last high school football game.
00:13:02
Speaker
Wow. I'll never forget. I wore a black. I'm here with a celeb. please i wore a black pencil skirt and an anthropology top and i felt business class well 2010 2010 was like the era of business casual to the club you know and i wore stilettos i was looking stilettos on the field Literally. um So yeah, that was the last time.
00:13:32
Speaker
But it was cute. It was fun. Something new. I was like, all right, we're into this. it was just so a little late. If it started like an hour before, we probably would have made it for a lot of the game. Yeah.
00:13:43
Speaker
It's also so crazy. Sorry, not to like keep talking about homecoming and like homecoming queen stuff. But I have also fallen on to, for some reason, like homecoming dress shopping TikTok.
00:13:54
Speaker
Yeah. Dude, the dresses they wear are literally to the bottom of their booty holes. They are so short. Yeah. I feel like ours were Yeah. two No, I went to Catholic school. There was there. No, i' no way.
00:14:11
Speaker
The homecoming dance. Mine were short. ah Oh, yeah. Some of them had tool, though, like and would puff out, but they were short. Yeah. I mean, they were short, but not like tight and short. I feel like I'm seeing a lot of tight and short.
00:14:26
Speaker
might have done one of those.
00:14:30
Speaker
but Maybe we just weren't a lot. We'd we'd be dress coded. We'd be like, sorry. i mean, I think because I definitely were like halfway up the thigh, which I would never do now. You got to hit up but above the knee for me. But yeah, I think back then. Yeah. I mean, they were definitely not down to my knees, but like they were also not to the bottom of my butt.
00:14:51
Speaker
yeah i don't know i might have done that one time i feel like i gotta to go look at my past life pictures oh my god so scary that's so scary i would have to go home to get those because we didn't have uh or like facebook i don't know if like my high school pictures are on there myspace sure which we don't have anymore
00:15:18
Speaker
feel like mine are definitely on. I mean, maybe not like freshman and sophomore year, but definitely pictures are on there. But anyway,
00:15:30
Speaker
um Yeah. so so we got to see all the pretty like dresses they were all wearing the homecoming court and the way Kathleen and I were talking we're like, this is God's might.
00:15:43
Speaker
I was just like the way high school bodies are so cute. i was like, I had no idea Oh, I know. We didn't know. The perfect bodies. I'm like, oh my God, I would kill to look like that.
00:15:57
Speaker
no like when I look back at high school photos of me, I'm like, she didn't even know. She didn't even know. Oh, I know. I know. There's one specific picture of me from Halloween, my junior year, where I was like, that was my hottest moment of my whole life. Like, ah for sure, i will never look that.
00:16:16
Speaker
but it Was I like a sexy... No, no, you're thinking of the bikini picture. Oh yeah. And you're just like, yeah, I was like dancing in a bikini at the beach and I'm like, and like, who is she?
00:16:31
Speaker
You had that picture in your dorm room. No, like that, that used to be go-to photo. If I was like trying to psych myself back into like losing weight and hitting the gym, I would like just stare at that photo and be like, your body could look like this. But the truth is it can't like those those high school jeans will never be back to visit. So it's like, I needed to let go of that.
00:16:56
Speaker
So funny. Yeah. yeah And you know, your mom back then used to tell you too, like, you're so cute. You're going to look back on this day and think you look good. Like, don't be so hard on yourself. And then here I am being like, she was right.
00:17:14
Speaker
She was right. Yeah. Oh, man. so oh to be in high school. But I feel like that's a fun... like new activity to do. That was cool. I was like, all right, that was neat. I need to do that for like Green's future high school and see what it's like over there. Cause it wasn't like as overwhelming as I thought it would be. Like, I don't know why I was picturing, picturing like a public high school to be like, Whoa, but it felt good. i was like, okay, that makes me feel good. Um, yeah.
00:17:42
Speaker
But anyway, maybe it's cause I was like so used to Alabama at

Weekend Adventures and Emotional Moments

00:17:45
Speaker
this point. like, nothing compares to like and yeah yeah college football stadium. And like, the craziness around that. But yeah, that was our Friday.
00:17:55
Speaker
so fun. Saturday was party day. We had such like a lovely morning. I don't even know. Chris like took the kids biking. So that was nice. And then we had his fun little Halloween birthday, which was so fun. We got like a Frankenstein bouncy house, which That guy was an icon. He was awesome. you know like It was so cool. I showed Vinny and he was like, Dan, that's tight. I was like, yeah, it is. Everyone's like, did you buy that? and i'm like, I wish. But the guy was so nice. He like let us keep it. We we had it until like Sunday at 12. So we like played on it forever. It's so fun.
00:18:30
Speaker
It's so funny that you say that when we were supposed to have Alice's like birthday party here, when we first moved in and I had booked a bouncy house, they said like, you can keep it all weekend. We'll get it suns like Sunday evening or whatever. They just don't care. They're like, sure.
00:18:43
Speaker
Yeah. If they have nowhere. Yeah. At first he was like, I'll pick it up at nine. And it was from here. Like, going to be there from nine to nine. I was like dang, that's a long time. But we kept it for like all weekend. I was like, this was fun because I played on it on Sunday. But we did that. We got a really cute house haunted house cake and open gifts. And we just had a really good time. And then like most of the people stayed for a while because we went and watched the Alabama Georgia game, which ah we're back back. just had a really good time. Um, and my sister and the twins came in and, you know, Graydon's like not super affectionate. And like, those are the two people he is in love with. Like he ran up to them and gave them the biggest hugs and like would not let go. Like he loves them so much. And I was like,
00:19:36
Speaker
that's who he'll hug is the twins. And it just made me like, he was so excited to see his cousins and he loves them. So, and they spent the night. Um, and I'm trying to think, um, four year old shopping is hard. Like,
00:19:52
Speaker
I was like, I don't even know what to get this dude. But we did like Batman, Transformers, all kinds of that stuff. so And he loved it. He got like some more monster truck stuff. So all in all, such a good day. Perfect weather. 78.
00:20:09
Speaker
Oh, I love his birthday so much. So nice. Yeah. Yeah. Like when we have a, like his birthday is what we're aiming for. ah ah it's the perfect, like early October. It's not cold yet.
00:20:23
Speaker
It's just perfect. Yeah. Yeah. I, that's, I'm going to need your like fall, which do do honestly and get pregnant in January and you're good.
00:20:36
Speaker
yeah That's it. That's what I need. Yeah. um Well, I'm so glad it looked so fun. And again, with the cute ass decorate, like obviously the Frankenstein was a moment, but like your cute ass decorations inside.
00:20:50
Speaker
and now you get to keep them all like up all month. Honestly, genius I know. I was like, perfect. Cause we did the chain link thing again, but with Halloween colors and we put some bats up and then all the pumpkins. I'm like, perfect. All month long. I feel like I've already had Halloween and I'm ready for Christmas.
00:21:09
Speaker
I'm like, October is just starting. yeah. Yeah. All good. But it was so fun. And then lastly, we did Disney on ice. And I, guys, cried.
00:21:22
Speaker
i know. I cried too when i when we went. It was when so cute, isn't it? started, it just was like so emotional. Like, being there with your babies and like experiencing something you love too. Cause we, I really liked Disney and they both liked Encanto and Frozen. So they were both, they loved it. And when I asked Graydon this morning on the way to school, what his favorite part of the weekend was, he said, Disney on ice. And,
00:21:47
Speaker
I was like, you know what this means, right? And he was like, yeah, I know. You know what this means, right? Gotta go to Disney. was really cool. Because it's like, it's a whole nother level Disney World to like walk in and have them like experience the castle and like see the characters. She's ready. It's just so special. Yeah, yeah.
00:22:08
Speaker
ah Yeah, he's ready because he loved it. And like he even was like Mickey Mouse was there. And I was like, oh, yeah, I forgot about that, dude. He he came out, too. So he was just into it. And Margo loved it. Can't be can't be Disney on ice without Mickey.
00:22:20
Speaker
Yeah. So that was super cool. And like the first time they'd ever been downtown Nashville. I was like, do on Broadway? yeah We're already down here.
00:22:32
Speaker
But we um we went to the 11 o'clock show, so we were pushing that time hard. like It was one of those when you're driving home and you're like, ah, la, la, la, la. Trying to keep them awake. Yeah. You're like, just make it 20 minutes.
00:22:47
Speaker
Don't fall asleep. yeah That's how we were last Sunday. we came we went and had um like breakfast with Vinny's grandmother. Yeah. this whole thing and on our way back I was like please stay awake like please I was like doing all the things I was like look at that out there oh yeah I was like couldn't yeah I was like please stay awake I know I drove home because I was like hey hey hey Chris is gonna have to be the one to turn around and entertain
00:23:20
Speaker
ah was like yes I know what I'm doing here yeah driver Yeah. yeah um Anyway, so that was like a whole weekend.
00:23:32
Speaker
um So great. It was fun to have like a super packed something. Chris and I were like, we need to get out more often. Like, what are we doing? Like, that was fine.
00:23:44
Speaker
Yeah. yeah It's always weekends like that that you're like, oh, we could do more. And it took up a lot of the time. um just like, wow, we need to, like, find things to do like that.
00:23:59
Speaker
Like, the bridge stuff thing. We need to take him to monster trucks. We need to do, like, all the fun things now. It was good. Yeah. It was so good. Yeah. Okay. So fun.
00:24:11
Speaker
I've talked and yapped and I'm ready. don't have and that much to chat about, to be honest. I mean, we, yes, we did. We went to the beach for the weekend.
00:24:23
Speaker
um just like a little getaway, a family friend of ours was so generous and nice to like offer up their house and Anna Maria to us for the weekend, which was

Dreams and Aspirations

00:24:32
Speaker
so nice. This place was like such such a dream.
00:24:36
Speaker
Um, and every time we're in Anna Maria, Vinny and I really are like, we have to ah in a house here. and Like i've it's just, it is. Oh my gosh, Whitney. It is. There is like magic there. It's just such a still, it's like ah still a quaint, small, like place. The beaches are like, I'm sorry, but there's no comparison. They are just gorgeous.
00:25:04
Speaker
And we said, like, if there was ever a time for us to buy a house here, it would be now only because so many of the houses are still damaged from hurricanes last year.
00:25:16
Speaker
And a lot of them, like, they've been remediated and gutted. to the, like, you know, from like the floodlines cut down and like the drywall is out, the floors are out, everything's out. They're just like these sitting empty places and either people want to sell them or they just don't have time. Like Vinny and Vinny being in construction, we're like, oh my God, if we could afford to buy one of these like houses that really need some work, like I feel like, I mean, it's definitely not in the cards for us right now, but we were like, damn it.
00:25:51
Speaker
If only it were, you know, because it would be so like we just like every time we go there, it just solidifies like, OK, that's in our plan. Hopefully for the next 10 years is to have some sort of little beach getaway.
00:26:06
Speaker
That we can like rent out and have family and friends use and like just always have a place that we can get away to. um So we just love it there so much. And like can't wait to go back. wait Like every time we're there, we're like, we can't wait to go back.
00:26:23
Speaker
So that was so nice. It was the one year anniversary of Hurricane Helene and our flood, which was so crazy and so ironic that we spent it at the beach with the ocean. The one thing that like literally changed our life and like took everything from us.
00:26:41
Speaker
And that is just the life of a Floridian. I feel like, I don't know. I'll never forget one of our friends that came over and to help us after the flood. Like he,
00:26:52
Speaker
He he was like, you know, this is the price we pay for living in paradise, which I actually hate that. But I also like, he's right. Like, this is the price. This is like the risk of living somewhere like so close to the water and like by the beach.
00:27:08
Speaker
And it's like being at in Anna Maria, it's like, God, we love it here. And it's like, I do love living here, even though it will always come with risks. So I don't know. It's just like a it was such a good weekend of like reflection and family time and just Vinny and I did some like talks.
00:27:27
Speaker
We just had some good talks about like how far we've come in the past year because like it was a very rough time for the four or five months after The flood. I mean, I feel like I beat a dead horse about it, but like there was a time where I was like, is my marriage going to make it through this? Like we were just in such a tough spot and so much added stress and like layers to our relationship.
00:27:52
Speaker
So I don't know. It was just like, so it's so great to be on the other side and to like see all that we've come and everything we've learned. And also think about all the ways that so many of our family and friends like helped us and the community and even here, like listeners that donated and helped and reached out and,
00:28:14
Speaker
Um, and I still feel for the people who are not on the, like, there are still people here who don't even have permits to fix their house. Like that's how long the wait is. Like if we had decided to keep our old lot in house and rebuild, like there's a chance we wouldn't have even broken ground yet. And we're at a year, which is so crazy.
00:28:36
Speaker
anyone in, on in your street done that? Like, is that happening? No. um So they've demolished, but not rebuilt yet. Like, um so they've, there have been houses that have been torn down, but no one's like built yet. And there were people who just decided to remodel. Like we had neighbors who they've lived there for like 30 years and they flooded pretty badly, but they own the house. Like they have no mortgage. They've lived there for 30 years. They were like, we're going to remodel.
00:29:10
Speaker
So I think they might be they were also in a place financially where they could just like pay for it outright, you know, and get and like so many people are not in that situation, you know.
00:29:21
Speaker
So um yeah, my heart just goes out to all the people who are still not on the other side of it because it that is the reality for a lot of people. yeah So, I don't know. It was just a good weekend of, like, family time and reflection. And I'm so grateful that we're ending 2025, like, in this place, in this house, and feeling, like, settled. It's just nice.
00:29:49
Speaker
and know. I'm so jealous. I've always wanted to go there because I feel like that's you and Vinny's, like, little happy place. And it's like, I know that it's got to be so cute. Like, I want to go see Well, we need to go. i need to like, we need to, we have to make that happen because it really is special. And so I really wish that we won the Powerball because like we'd be closing on our on our Anna Maria house. Back to the Powerball.
00:30:16
Speaker
I'm still upset about the Powerball.
00:30:21
Speaker
yeah Like, I would have a $3 million dollars house on Anna Maria Beach. I would. Oh, man. Another day. Another time. Another time. Yeah. Well, I can't wait to go one day. i was telling Candace that I really want to come down there for her birthday, and I'm just trying to decide, do we go to Anna Maria Epcot, which opened it either.
00:30:44
Speaker
ah We could do both. i mean... how far I feel like we need to, they're, they're such different vibes because like Disney is also like, is like very go, go, go active, like whatever.
00:31:00
Speaker
um and then, and then Anna Maria is like, would be very chill vibes. Cause it probably will be a little chilly. Like we're not like going, I mean, we, we would definitely go to the beach, but we would be like going to the beach in a sweater, you know?
00:31:14
Speaker
so up to you I think what we should do is plan a spring break to Anna Maria. Okay. Yeah.
00:31:24
Speaker
Okay. Like I kind of feel like for my birthday, y'all should with the kids. Okay. All right. That's what I think we should plan a spring break. But yeah, other than that, I don't really have much to like update on. i feel like I, believe you had a Gorgina photo shoot.
00:31:43
Speaker
Oh, I did. Yeah, I had some new like photos taken. because the last I did a little mini shoot back in June, and then I loved the photographer so much. She's so great. Her name's Ashley Esquerdo. Go check her out.
00:31:55
Speaker
um I definitely will tag her in all of my stuff, but she... like had this option where I could do like a mini shoot every quarter. so we're and we're you know entering quarter three. So I did my second one and I did it in my new updated, beautiful office, which it's all coming together. i mean, still a little bit of work in progress, but Yeah, it it was so good. You look beautiful and like your outfit was really freaking cute and fun. Thank you.
00:32:28
Speaker
I was just like, I'm really trying to like lean into the fun. I don't care she looks 21 years old. Like you look like so young in these photos. Oh my God, that is so nice of you. Thank you. You have great skin.
00:32:41
Speaker
Thanks. I'm actually having like a weird, you probably can't tell, but I'm having, cause I put makeup on, but I'm having like a weird skin situation happen. Oh, and ah at the beach you had good skin.
00:32:53
Speaker
I did. It was so, I like jinxed myself because at the ah in my story, I was like, I'm having a good skin day. And then literally the next day I woke up with like shit happening on my job. I'm like, oh, great. Love that. Thank you.
00:33:04
Speaker
ah Oh, well, I mean, it comes and goes. I feel like my skin's starting to freak out. I'm probably about to start my period. I'm surprised I haven't. I could, like, I actually get in a bad mood two weeks before I start my period. And I was in a bad mood last week. And I was like, okay,
00:33:20
Speaker
I probably won't start this week, but I will the next. I don't know why I do that. You got a long PMS period, huh? and It's just like the two weeks before.
00:33:33
Speaker
Interesting. And then I'm like ah kind of fine during the actual period.

Women's Health Discussion

00:33:39
Speaker
I think it would be a good episode to have someone like a cycle specialist on. Yeah.
00:33:45
Speaker
i mean I feel like that's a, yeah, to talk about like the different cycles, maybe how they change postpartum. I know we've done a postpartum periods episode, but like that was very much event.
00:33:56
Speaker
Yeah. Session. But to have someone on who like and knows the science of it all would be cool. So if anyone listening knows someone who like, I don't know, is a cycle expert, expertise.
00:34:14
Speaker
tea What am I saying? um I don't know. ah Let us know in the comments or send us a DM. I feel like that would be a good episode because I would like to learn more about the different phases the cycle. Yeah. Tell me who am the way am, please. Mm-hmm.
00:34:34
Speaker
Okay, wait, this is so random, but um one of the girls in my do-day group um has started to like be really into tarot cards. And she is doing these like tarot card pulls.
00:34:49
Speaker
And now I text her and I'm like, do a tarot card pull for me, please. like And um they're always spooky accurate. It's so crazy.
00:35:02
Speaker
Like what? i don't know.
00:35:05
Speaker
Well, I don't want to tell the one about that she just did because it was like kind of about the drama. Oh, but it yeah, it'll it like each like you pull three cards and it's supposed to be like what you perceive the action you should take. I forgot the exact things, but like and it's always just like so accurate to like what's going on in the world. I don't know.
00:35:29
Speaker
I always felt that way with my horoscope. i was like, I could always relate it somehow to something that's going on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Totally. But I love that. I was going to say, oh, one of our followers was so nice and sent Candice and I candles and it was so cute and it smells so pretty good. I haven't gotten mine yet, but you know what? It might be in my mailbox. I don't know how big it is, but it could be in my mailbox. It's probably in your mailbox. Mine was. Oh, okay.
00:36:00
Speaker
Oh, I'm so excited because I actually am. I'm definitely leaning into fall. Like in my coffee, i officially have Chobani pumpkin coffee creamer.
00:36:11
Speaker
Although I have to say something because I did pure Chobani, like just pumpkin creamer the other day and it was like a little too cinnamony for me. So my perfect recipe is like a dash of sweet cream and a dash of pumpkin.
00:36:26
Speaker
yeah and okay um i'm sensitive to cinnamon every yeah that's not for me i don't think i love it um which is weird because i like fucking hate a snickerdoodle cookie disgusting Okay, that is blasphemous.
00:36:44
Speaker
What the fuck is wrong with you? Oh, so you'll eat that? Snickerdoodles are not super cinnamon-y to me. I feel like you've had the wrong snickerdoodles. I don't like them.
00:36:55
Speaker
But I love a cinnamon roll, cinnamon my coffee. Wow, that's interesting. I don't know. I do not like Snickerdoodle. I don't like Diem's.
00:37:08
Speaker
I never have. I don't know. I'm always like, want an oatmeal cookie. Oh, that sounds good. You know what? Also, also, why did I say that weird?
00:37:20
Speaker
I have a huge like Costco size container of oats in my um pantry that I've just been like, I need to use these somehow. So maybe oatmeal cookies are in my future. oh that sounds so good. I saw them at the grocery. I've never made a homemade oatmeal cookie in my life.
00:37:37
Speaker
I think they are pretty easy. Speaking of, I baked those brownies that I did for Green's birthday. And I was like, yeah, it was me doing the bare minimum. And I was like, look at that.
00:37:50
Speaker
Look at what I did. It was literally so easy. It was just brownie, regular brownies. And then once I pulled them out the oven, I sprinkled top of it. And I was like, these are the cutest things I've ever done.
00:38:04
Speaker
They were so cute, like for real. um But that was just funny. I was like, oh, look at that. I don't bake. Yeah. And here I am.
00:38:15
Speaker
I'm not a baker either. i'm ah I love to cook, but I don't love to bake. But I've been feeling a pull recently to try baking because one of the reasons, i I definitely have talked about this on a way past episode, but um our oven at our old house,
00:38:31
Speaker
was a gas oven, which I loved, but it was like an older gas oven. So the heat source, the gas was like only from the bottom and it was almost impossible for me to bake something without it burning on the bottom.
00:38:46
Speaker
Because nowadays, like in newer models, the heat source is like all around and more regular. So i just, everything I tried to bake, I used to be a decent baker, I thought. And then I, I,
00:38:59
Speaker
I was like, I can't do it here. Yeah. But now I have a new electric oven that's like more regulated. So I feel like I'm going to, I feel like I'm going to give it a go again. ah it. And the fall is in a crock pot. Yeah.
00:39:14
Speaker
I really do. i really do. That sounds good. I'm actually starving. So I was thinking about Publix and getting a sandwich and some chips.
00:39:25
Speaker
Okay. Wait, I have a buffalo chicken dip update. Okay. Because in our fall episode, we talked about buffalo chicken dip and then I had to go eat it, right? I had to go get some from Publix and eat it.
00:39:38
Speaker
But I had a new creation last week that was so freaking good. I took the buffalo chicken dip and I put it in a tortilla and made a buffalo chicken dip quesadilla. Y'all,
00:39:52
Speaker
it was so good. oh it was so good. My mouth is salivating. It was, I added a little bit of extra shredded cheese. So you still get that like, you know, shredded and it adds a little bit of like firmness to the, you know, yes honestly, I thought to myself, like, I'm going to make these for our next tail, like football party, buy a couple of things. And then I make a big batch of quesadilla, Buffalo chicken quesadillas.
00:40:21
Speaker
Whoa. You're welcome, everyone. Honestly, it was so good. I've never thought of that. That sounds delicious. um Yeah. But my friend did troll me and after we talked about it, and she sent me pictures of Willow Tree um buffalo chicken dip.
00:40:36
Speaker
What's that? Willow Tree is a brand up in the Northeast that sells chicken salad. That is the best chicken salad on planet Earth for me. And they don't sell it down here. And so I said, leave me alone.
00:40:50
Speaker
I know. i can't. Leave me alone. Yeah, that's all I said back was leave me alone. Oh my God. That's so funny. I miss it. It was so good. That was like my um hyper fixation meal when I lived up there. I would eat that on um some chips every single day. I just chicken salad.
00:41:11
Speaker
All right. I guess I'll get chicken salad chick for lunch. You've convinced me. I need to go the grocery. I have nothing here. we didn't grocery shop yesterday, which is probably part of the reason I'm feeling frazzled today. Well, we did. and i didn't And I didn't pick up lunch. We only got things for three nights for dinner. And then that was it.

Home Renovation Challenges

00:41:30
Speaker
Yeah. um Okay, wait, I did have one more update that no one cares about probably, but all of our plants were put in and our irrigation.
00:41:41
Speaker
Well, we just don't have grass. Grass is being put in on Wednesday. They push that, of course, because nothing is gone as planned and that's really annoying, but it's fine. So we have all of the plants in, but we don't have the grass is being put in Wednesday.
00:41:54
Speaker
and then it's, it's over for you bitches. I am hosting football parties again. i just, and like, so, and also y'all with it being just dirt in the backyard and dirt in the front yard, it is impossible to keep my house clean.
00:42:12
Speaker
The dogs, I have two dogs and a husband who's constantly doing shit outside. my I can't avoid it. My house is so dirty. Like I've just accepted that until the grass is in and everyone's not bringing in dirt constantly. Like I just have stopped vacuuming. Honestly, it's like, I'm,
00:42:35
Speaker
I'm done. Um, so I will be calling up Stanley steamer to deep clean all of our carpets and stuff. I need to do that so bad. Okay. Wait, have you ever done it?
00:42:48
Speaker
Cause I've done to where they clean a chair, like upholstered chair, but ah I need, I want them to do it to the area of rug in my living room. But like, do they move the furniture? Do I have to do that? Do you know?
00:43:00
Speaker
So whenever I tried to get Stanley's steamer here last time, they said they wouldn't do my couch, like something about the fabric. And so they came and just left. And then I've never like tried to find another place to do it.
00:43:14
Speaker
So I don't know. My couch is just disgusting. Couches are disgusting. Well, our couch, you could take the covers off. So now I just take the covers off and wash them all and put them back on, which is honestly like a Pilates workout. It's like so hard.
00:43:30
Speaker
um But yeah, I don't know. I got a lot of like fall projects. I was telling Whitney before, or maybe ah did I say about closing the loop?
00:43:42
Speaker
Oh yeah, you did. Well, um no, I think it was before we recorded it to me before. Candace and I had a whole chat before. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We needed to update on things, like, even before this.
00:43:55
Speaker
So, but I feel like there's a lot of, like, life things that, like, I haven't closed the loop on. Like, Alice has a cavity. I can't remember if I've talked about that on here, but my girl's got a cavity, which honestly makes me feel like a shit mom, but I've tried to just push that out of my brain.
00:44:14
Speaker
Um, and so I need to like schedule that appointment to make, to get the cavity taken care of before it gets worse. And then,
00:44:25
Speaker
um I don't know. Like there's just so many things I need to do and I need to like close the loop on all these things that I have like open.

Episode Wrap-Up and Holiday Excitement

00:44:35
Speaker
So I don't know. I need to like, I might block my calendar one day this week and it just be like a life catch up day.
00:44:42
Speaker
Truthfully. I literally did that last Thursday and it made me feel so much better. And I like used a lot of my time to organize my house and yeah it just was like so needed and necessary. Like,
00:44:55
Speaker
Okay. You're inspiring me. I'm doing that this week. going look at my calendar for this week and I'm going to find a day that I'm going to block at least half of it off. Yeah. That's exactly what I did.
00:45:06
Speaker
It was so nice. Yep. All right. Well, I love you guys. Happy October. um I'm so excited about the holidays and we'll see you guys soon.
00:45:19
Speaker
Yes. Ta-ta. Bye. Thank you so much for being a part of our mom group chat. new episodes drop every Tuesday. And don't forget, the group chat is blowing up on our Instagram page. So make sure you're following along over there.
00:45:32
Speaker
All right. Got to go. My toddler just put something in her mouth.
