Introduction and International Break

00:00:08
AFC Bournemouth
Hi everyone, welcome back to your daily AFCE Bournemouth Podcast with me, one of your hosts, Luke Burrows. I'm here again doing a solo episode, so you have the pleasure of listening to my voice for the next 10, 15 minutes or so, a little bit of a shorter episode today, as it is a wildcard Wednesday. And I was thinking about what to share ah ah in this episode, as it has been international break, right? So things, especially from a Bournemouth perspective,
00:00:38
AFC Bournemouth
have been quiet and probably for the clubs outside of the big six or when there isn't managerial changes typically international break it's much more quieter time uh less players a away on international duty typically and so players uh from a former perspective uh getting a uh a rest and probably a well deserved rest, rest seeing how we have started the season and especially over those last few games, basically after the disappointing left to defeat. So a well earned rest for the players that didn't or wasn't involved in any international

duty. And obviously for the coaching staff and the manager as well, although I would suspect that they would be busy planning the next fixtures.
00:01:34
AFC Bournemouth
In terms of previewing the next fixture on the weekend, stay tuned for Cross Over Thursday tomorrow and then forecast Friday the day after. So I'm not going to really talk about those games because all the game and previewing that game because we have those episodes as we build it throughout the week. But I did want to ah deliver a World Card Wednesday episode and get back into the swing of things after International

Community and Academy News

00:02:02
AFC Bournemouth
Break.
00:02:03
AFC Bournemouth
So I was thinking like what to discuss, what to share and miss in this episode. And so I was taking a look on the Bournemouth website on the latest news that has come out of Bournemouth over the last couple of weeks since the special break. And because the first team have been, as I alluded to, they're having a well-deserved rest or they're probably training a bit on some days as well.
00:02:29
AFC Bournemouth
Most of the news has been from like from an academy perspective with the cherries from an academy level getting some good results and then also from a community perspective so like born within the local ki community some news there with the trust focusing on respect during anti-bullying week. We also have women's football as well with have manager Markham but basically stating that the women's team cannot let their standards drop.

Team Updates and Events

00:03:12
AFC Bournemouth
From a men's team perspective though we do have a little bit of news that I will come on to maybe in the second part with have some information around
00:03:23
AFC Bournemouth
match date, so the away trip to Fulham, information and points drop, and the visit of Crystal Palace to West,
00:03:36
AFC Bournemouth
to King Court, some information there. There's also some commercial news around a Christmas lunch, you know, seeing as we are approaching that time of the year. And then Yeah, mostly focused on academy and women's football during the international break. So if you're interested in all that stuff, then stay around because that's going to be the the main focus of this episode. What I would also say like to share is from a first team perspective
00:04:18
AFC Bournemouth
Orejo has gone undergoing surgery for an injury to his left hamstring. So that was that came out like five days ago or something. If you look through Bournemouth's website, you can see some training photos as well. So that's kind of like a summary of of the news that has come out of Bournemouth over this international break. But let's dive a little bit deeper into that, starting with the Academy side. So if we take a look at the ah ah Academy side of things with news coming out um you know, as I alluded to that ah that side of things. So the Academy development score, whatever you you want to kind of call that side, saw
00:05:15
AFC Bournemouth
come from behind. Well, so our academy side came from behind an extra man with an extra man to win against Bournemouth.
00:05:28
AFC Bournemouth
And interestingly, you know you passionate Bournemouth supporters out there would know that, well, you may know that Watford are coached by former Cherries, Dan Gosling and Charlie Daniels, that's so that's interesting, in some connections there, but but yeah, you know, so there was that academy me game during, there was actually a a couple, but most recent one has been that 4-1 win against Watford, come back from behind with an extra man, I should point out as well, that puts the Cherries top of the
00:06:09
AFC Bournemouth
I want to get this right. South group of the professional development league with 23 points in 12 games played. So good start to the development squads season. And manager, Quinell, told the official website that it was a scrappy start to the game. Watford were a little bit better. then, obviously, after the two yellow cards, they got what the player sent off the game change and this is usually the way things go right we've seen that in the international or the internationals recently in the England game so ah from and a development academy perspective from an under 18th perspective
00:07:02
AFC Bournemouth
then 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town during in international break. i think That was a couple of days ago now in the professional developments league, so and a good win there.
00:07:16
AFC Bournemouth
And also we have in the FA Youth Cup the chair has been drawn Ipswich and of the bits and bobs that came out from a academy development squad perspective. So Next up, we're going to talk weren the women's side and what has come out news-wide from women's football from a Bournemouth perspective.

OK, welcome back, everyone. So in that first segment, a little bit of an overview of this episode, which will probably be a shorter episode, and dived into the Development Squad Academy and ratings i team news that's come out of, well that's been happening during an international break if you were not aware of everything that's been happening there. From a women's football perspective,
00:09:02
AFC Bournemouth
a in the most recent game, and the women's side sealed a 8-0 victory against Portishead Town, which was a few days ago, on Sunday actually, so that moves them to the top of their league with nine wins out of nine. We also have um some news around strike or X-Stryker now, Lucia Cooper, who left Bournemouth during
00:09:38
AFC Bournemouth
and the men's international break at least by mutual concern 19 year old being nine appearance has scored four times with the charities this season interesting i'm not uh huge on not caught up on i guess on everything well academy football but also women's football as well so be good to know at some point of went on there because that's a good record but and anyway I'm digressing. Moving on and <unk>ning during kind of the break in the season especially for the men' well were a for the men's team right but anyway the women's team also closed the gap on Swindon Town, a 4-0 win over them
00:10:30
AFC Bournemouth
So, yeah, it looks like all three, four teams, because in the Academy level, you'll see the development squad under eight teams have had good starts to the season. So also from a women's football, seeing any other important news coming out of that. There was some matchday information, but obviously that's now that game has been played, so there's no point sharing that. There's some other bits of, you know, kind of news, more kind of editorial articles that were on the website. So you can head on over to Bournemouth's official website to kind of see that manager cast, you know, credits and players for and the start of the season and soaring to the top of the league, etc, etc. So cannot, and that may cannot allow the standards to stop. So good to start the season for all teams or
00:11:25
AFC Bournemouth
yeah all teams and all levels from a Bournemouth perspective, but let's finish the episode turning our attention back to the men's team.

Okay, so final episode, let's close this episode off by returning to the attention of the men's team and news coming out of the men's team over international

Injuries and Game Preparations

00:12:07
AFC Bournemouth
break. The Arejo surgery news is probably the big bit of news that came out of the, or from the club, from a men's football perspective over the international break. That was for a hamstring, hamstring injury, which leads right back
00:12:30
AFC Bournemouth
maybe for Smith to come back in. But yeah, you know, that's that's a shame because obviously Orejo knew some signing and started pretty <unk> pretty well to his former career. So it's disappointing that now he's going to probably be out for some time to heal and recover from from that surgery. The other two main bits of news I alluded to it in the beginning was the information around so the Crystal Palace home game and basically it was stating that club information for this picture which will be played on Boxing Day, 3pm kickoff and tickets are going to go on sale on the 19th of November so actually on the day I'm recording this at 10am so by the time you listen to this they will be
00:13:24
AFC Bournemouth
you know, they would have gone live probably for like, you know, approaching 24 hours. So just I'm just gonna run through this. I mean, no one is not, if anyone is not aware of it. So on Tuesday, the 19th, ticket price drops for the fixture will take place at 10am. So for Tuesday, the 19th, if you've got 27 or more home points on Thursday, the 21st of November, that's that drops down to 21 home points. Sunday, the 24th of November, 15 plus home points. And then the following Tuesday, 26th. They're calling it Cherry Tuesday. Maybe that's something we could adopt here. Anyway, one plus home point. and There's also lots of information on our website around safeguarding, hospitality, ticket so accessible seating,
00:14:23
AFC Bournemouth
et cetera, et cetera. So for more, I head on over to Bournemouth's website. That was a little bit of news that came out around so tickets. And then there was also another similar bit of news coming out for the game on Sunday, the 29th of December. So over a month to go yet. But the Fulham game, where we go to Craven Cottage, the club's basically stated that they can allocate up to 2,701 tickets for away supporters.
00:14:53
AFC Bournemouth
And then, so also so also similarly to the home game I kind of read out just a moment ago, tickets will start dropping on Tuesday, the 19th, November at 11 a.m. for 10 or more away points. 21st of November, seven or more way points. 24th of November, four plus away points. 26th of November, one way point. 28th of November, general sale.
00:15:21
AFC Bournemouth
27th of December it's got stated off sale whatever that means they also have some pricing so adults 30 pounds are restricted v twenty eight thriving over twenty five restrict v twenty three eighteen to twenty one twenty five restrictive view and pounds restricted view 18 again a lot more information over on their website with coach times and stuff but i'm not gonna go through that.
