Zach Sheets: Hello and welcome to another Everything Action Commentary. I'm your host, Chris, and joining me for this track is Adam.
Addam: Yo, what's up?
Zach Sheets: This month, IO Interactive is getting ready to release an upcoming 007 game, 007 First Light, ah which is looking to be a fun take on the Bond mythos and works fantastically with the Hitman game formula that IO Interactive has done fantastically for the last, i don't know, like four years for their Hitman titles.
Zach Sheets: ah So it's funny because their games play like movies and now they're taking on a very beloved movie franchise and turning it into a new generation game.
Zach Sheets: Uh, and so to celebrate that, uh, instead of taking a look at a double o seven movie, we're going to go back to when hit man attempted its second run at the movies with agent, uh, hit man, agent 47,
Zach Sheets: ah a sort of like rides the middle line movie video game adaptation, ah that, uh, Kind of reboots the series from the movies, but you kind of need to know some parts about Agent 47 to connect like who he is to the the like plot.
Zach Sheets: it's It's really weird. It's like, this movie's for video gamers, but like there's not enough video game stuff. And then it's a movie that ah introduces Hitman 47, but he's not the main hero for at least half the movie.
Zach Sheets: It's bizarre.
Addam: Yeah, that's interesting.
Zach Sheets: Uh,
Addam: umm I'm personally terrible at the Hitman games, but I love watching Atriak and the speedrunning community and stuff like that do crazy stuff in Hitman.
Addam: And I know that io Interactive is just... They're they're like... the The depth of the the Hitman games themselves is just it's just unheard of. like you Multiple people can play the same level and kill the same people but have completely different experiences on how they do it. Like the way that you kill people in this game and like the way that you interact with the world is just, it's just so crazy. So I don't know. i don't, I'm probably personally not to play the new James Bond game because like I said, I'm not good at the hitman games, but I'll definitely be watching YouTube videos of speed runners trying to break it and stuff like that. So it should be interesting.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, ah there's sandbox approach formula of just here are all the pieces. It's up to you to put them together in your own way. And like, it's like a giant puzzle that like there are so many ways to solve it that I love about that formula.
Zach Sheets: And.
Addam: Yeah, I think i think everybody's like first go through these games are always like, oh man, I messed up. I guess I'm just going to have to murder everybody on this level.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, that's the default.
Addam: Yeah, that's the first run through on anybody's playthrough of these games.
Zach Sheets: That's.
Zach Sheets: I mean, especially if you need to like explore an area and just kind of get the lay of the land, you're not going to study it and then write notes and memorize it. You're just going to start blasting your way through and then like, OK, I shouldn't do that the next time.
Addam: Exactly.
Zach Sheets: So ah what's interesting is for a Hitman game that came out in 2015, I think the only game that came out around that time was Hitman Absolution, which was still part of the iOS Interactive. And ah there was another company, but it was like before Eidos and had like the and like another merger. It's like think it was like Square Enix was part of them.
Zach Sheets: So, yeah, this is before IO Interactive really took the reins and then, like, brought it over. So this this movie is more based on Hitman 2 and a little bit of Hitman 3, or Hitman Contracts, um which is something that, like, I got more into the lore later. I got into the Hitman games later in in, like, the franchise than the beginning.
Zach Sheets: But again, again, this this movie's meant for, like... the early fans of the hitman series. It just there's no handholding. So without further ado, Adam and I have a copy which will be playing shortly in a moment.
Zach Sheets: ah And hopefully you have a copy to sync up this track. And so let's get started. ah I'm going three count countdown and we'll play.
Zach Sheets: So get ready.
Addam: Let
Zach Sheets: One, three, three play
Addam: me full screen this.
Zach Sheets: Now, to up the ante with the Hitman experience here, Adam and I are playing a little fun a drinking game where any time someone says Agent 47, someone dies, you see a barcode, so Hitman is Guns Akimbo, or there's a reference to the organization..........
Zach Sheets: Oh, barcode.
Addam: There's the barcode, yeah. They say that the barcode that's used on him is actually the barcode for the Hitman 2 game.
Addam: That's a cool trivia fact. doesn't matter at all.
Zach Sheets: That's so pretty cool. Someone like held a barcode scanner to the movie.
Addam: Yeah, of course. There's always that.
Zach Sheets: See, this would be cool if they showed this part of the movie in another movie.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: I mean, it's kind of film like it's like the beginning to a Resident Evil movie or something.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, I'm getting that vibe.
Zach Sheets: Like, it's been 30 seconds, and I feel like so much has gone by explaining about these genetic hitmen babies.
Addam: Yeah. Yeah.
Addam: I mean, it even looks, it looks like it's from the video game.
Zach Sheets: Was that like a...
Addam: Like it looks like it's ripped from the video game.
Zach Sheets: Yeah. That was a 3D model from like...
Addam: Yeah. That doesn't look like a real person.
Zach Sheets: Like this feels like a Hitman game, right? Like this is how it would start.
Addam: Yeah. Especially with like the character model they're using for this woman.
Zach Sheets: Like that's a real actress and they...
Addam: Yeah, I love when they do this. I love when they do this, like, fake technology stuff. We're just swiping his hand in front of a TV.
Addam: Oh, barcode again.
Zach Sheets: too Oh, the the virus upload button.
Zach Sheets: I'm pretty sure some of the font is like IO Interactive owned. It's like very distinct fonts that you see in the Hitman games.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: All these screens would have like such smudgy like fingerprints for everyone like touch screening everything.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: The technology is crazy.
Zach Sheets: Wow, even though the bomb looks pretty futuristic.
Addam: yeah
Addam: It's just like, all this is for like, his iPad is literally just using like a Waze app on it.
Addam: Oh, wait. Yeah, it's every time he kills somebody too. So that's like...
Zach Sheets: Oh wow, so that's five? Up to five drinks?
Addam: Looks like there's some Batman stuff here.
Zach Sheets: Austria has like sweet-ass garage technology.
Addam: What these stairs?
Addam: It's like not even... What is that handprint? It's just this bomb?
Zach Sheets: It's the cup of it. it's You get the full curvature.
Addam: Nobody's there.
Zach Sheets: ah they're all dead. Does this count as two dead guys?
Addam: I mean, tell me. they I don't know if this counts.
Zach Sheets: Yep,
Addam: I guess it does.
Zach Sheets: that's like up to seven.
Zach Sheets: Nine.
Addam: killed I think most of the drinking is done in the first 10 minutes of this. Oh, there's the barcode again.
Addam: Why does this suit look so weird?
Zach Sheets: It's like velour. It's got like a shine to it.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Where it should be like mad at more.
Addam: His tie looks pretty cheap.
Zach Sheets: It's weird to Agent 47 not have like a deeper voice.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: there's another death or
Zach Sheets: Yeah, this is the just the intro that's 12 drinks in if you played by the rules.
Addam: nope here comes another one yeah he's just killing so many people
Zach Sheets: See, that shot makes sense for like the gamers where it's like, that's cool. That's like what you saw in the artwork and in the games. 14, I think we're up to 14, 15.
Addam: What are these stairs?
Zach Sheets: Well, this alarm is like disorienting if this was an emergency.
Addam: This is like what happened to you on everybody's first run. trying to get trying to get out
Zach Sheets: 16, 17? sixteen seventeen
Zach Sheets: Come on, just leave one guy alive. Yeah.
Addam: I don't think you get dual wield in the game. don't know why they added it to this like it's Halo 2 or something.
Addam: Oh, there's the cover shot.
Zach Sheets: Oh, that, see, that, that's from the game.
Addam: Yeah. I got to get my thumbnail in.
Zach Sheets: Like, there's not enough of a pause so people would clap. Like, that's like, oh, it's just like the meme.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Like, there it didn't have that break.
Addam: See, look at this desk.
Addam: Is this like the same desk from Tron?
Zach Sheets: Yeah, was gonna say that, where it's like, it's very like 80s tech.
Zach Sheets: Or again, you you would have smudge marks all over this desk.
Addam: Why don't these desks actually exist?
Addam: It would be so useless because you can't put anything on it. It just defeats the point of the desk.
Zach Sheets: Hey, remember that VR woman or that like a 3D model? Like she's alive.
Addam: Yeah. Oh, man.
Zach Sheets: She's real.
Addam: It's almost like they could have just used an actual picture of her.
Zach Sheets: yeah
Addam: If he lived there for like less than a year, that's i don't think he has to pay taxes there. He's not a citizen.
Zach Sheets: I mean, you also can get paid like. Well, if it's old school.
Addam: Yeah, from your whatever country you're from.
Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Oh, the librarian was like hitting on her.
Addam: geez.
Addam: Hey, pumpkin, don't get so upset. like you It's like degrading
Addam: her. Hey, sweet leap on the sweet lips, why don't you just calm down little bit?
Addam: I wonder how long it took her to memorize that one.
Addam: If she, like, if she...
Zach Sheets: like a spoil I'm going to spoil the thing about her, but you'll you'll see what this is.
Addam: Yeah, but if she... Like, I mean, her as an actress.
Zach Sheets: Hmm.
Addam: Like, how she memorized that. Like, she put it in, like, the form of, like, their Rent song. 90.78, 974, 357, or some shit like that.
Zach Sheets: Hmm. She said it like very calmly.
Addam: Like, how do you remember all that as, like, an actor? That's great.
Zach Sheets: Probably like a headset. She probably listens to it. Just reading it.
Addam: It's just one of those things where she's just like autistic, but nobody knows what it is called.
Zach Sheets: Kinda. But it's like...
Addam: dude.
Zach Sheets: In a Marvel movie, this would be the thing where it's like, oh, she's a super genius, but like, unrecognized.
Zach Sheets: But the movie is a weird way to explain this, and i don't spoil it for you yet
Addam: Oh, shit, it's Spock. We need a German guy.
Zach Sheets: I forgot he's in this movie.
Zach Sheets: The Das Boots
Zach Sheets: guy. Prochoff.
Addam: i a jemy guy
Zach Sheets: Well, he's in Austria? No, no, they're they're in Berlin.
Addam: They're in Berlin right now.
Zach Sheets: berlin
Addam: Yeah. She's in Germany.
Addam: Dude, her accent is terrible in this. I don't know, man.
Zach Sheets: she like American?
Addam: think she's trying to pull British or something.
Zach Sheets: No, she actually is English.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, she's coming Daredevil. She's got like super hearing.
Addam: How would he know that that was for
Addam: him?
Addam: how would he know that that was for him You know what I mean? Like, he's just in his own house. That doesn't make any sense.
Addam: It's on the street. It could be somebody robbing a car or something. Why would he stop?
Zach Sheets: He's like, oh no, there's i have it's the stop all crime in the block alert.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Like, he's such a like a dick to abuse this woman, but then he's like, oh, I heard the bell, i have to stop.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Yeah. That's the rule he agrees with. That's the rule he follows.
Zach Sheets: It's the abusive husband code.
Zach Sheets: So you thought you're gonna watch a Hitman movie? Psych, you're going to watch a, like, librarian do a, like, a research movie and parts of Hitman.
Zach Sheets: So initially I didn't wasn't a fan of Rupert Friend, who's Agent 47 here. But he doesn't do a bad role. like he He does all the like kind of mannerisms pretty well.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Does that count as guns again? But why did he take just two guns out of his two pistols?
Zach Sheets: I guess that counts. So they go up to like 20, 21.
Addam: She's in Germany, so of course there's techno music blanks.
Zach Sheets: This is just the like what's on the radio all the time. It's their country.
Addam: yeah no there's just like It's just like, it's a call to prayer in freaking Germany.
Zach Sheets: Oh, it's three o'clock?
Addam: is just stay on music
Zach Sheets: All right, techno time.
Addam: they have to to They have to turn and face like like East Berlin and start dancing at that time or something.
Zach Sheets: You have to break out your glow sticks and point towards the sun.
Zach Sheets: Is she crying because she realizes like this isn't normal behavior? To have like a whole room disassemble on a crazy person board?
Addam: I'm
Zach Sheets: And a mattress with no sheets.
Addam: just one you starting to realizing that she's autistic. She's like, oh my God. can't believe it.
Addam: I'm
Addam: just going to... I have this weird urge. to put on some sort of furry costume. I don't know what it is inside of me. I'm like, wait, what?
Zach Sheets: I gotta get really into Sonic.
Addam: I have to start going to conventions. Like what? yeah
Zach Sheets: So instead of like the Matrix where it's like, you know, breaking free from.
Addam: Oh, this, no, this is that, ah this is that app from the other guys that Will Ferrell invented called Faceback, where he sees the the back of someone's face and he can find them.
Zach Sheets: oh
Zach Sheets: Is it going to generate another fake? Oh, I thought going generate the same 3D version of her again.
Addam: Dude, where are these locations that they're filming at? This so crazy.
Zach Sheets: see It's like a Bond movie where like this was an existing location.
Addam: They look so futuristic.
Zach Sheets: so you know what's crazy about this actress?
Addam: Wait, wait, she's Asian? What the hell?
Zach Sheets: Yep, yep, Diana Woodburn.
Addam: What the hell?
Zach Sheets: Oh, Diana Burnwood is Asian in this one. Okay, guess the actress's, like, stage name. She's a famous, like, i think... I'm gonna say Chinese singer?
Addam: yeah Come on, man. this says ah This is the ancient Chinese trap of get that white dude to say something racist. I'm not falling for it.
Zach Sheets: No, it is. But, okay, her her stage name is Angel Baby.
Addam: Angel, baby.
Zach Sheets: So if you like look up the credits for this movie, it's just like Angel Baby. I'm like, what?
Zach Sheets: Well, don't worry so much about Diana. She just has like three scenes, and I'm pretty sure like it bears nothing to the movie. Compared to the first movie, like they didn't even have a Diana in the first movie.
Addam: What the hell?
Addam: He just wants to be for, what is the numbering on that? What is going on there?
Zach Sheets: Yeah, why is the five so large?
Addam: is going on
Addam: Why would that be the thing, right? why like it not It's not circled or anything.
Zach Sheets: It's Ivan Circled.
Addam: like It's just you pull out a map and just point to a random place on it. we looked at
Zach Sheets: Leaps in logic.
Addam: That's definitely where she's going.
Zach Sheets: It had the head A, so that's what I would go, I guess. Or it's like maybe that was just the closest place where he is located. it he just got really educated guess.
Zach Sheets: See, this was the game. Like, his sense would, like, pick it up and he would see it.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: It's like advanced drug addicts. Like, next level.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, nicked nicked a bottle of drugs.
Addam: I'm from the future.
Addam: Oh, no, he's coming. He's coming.
Zach Sheets: See, this where like it's the weird it's the weird Terminator 2 effect, where if you've never seen this movie before, you think, you know, it's like this this like
Addam: He
Zach Sheets: this like unstoppable killer is coming.
Addam: in
Zach Sheets: Mm-hmm.
Addam: It's funny as anything because, like I said, i watched the speedruns and stuff for this from Atriarch, and he's always joking about the fact that, like, Agent 47 is supposed to be like some dude that's like six five and just a bald dude.
Addam: And he obviously stands out in any situation that he's in. Like he's wearing a full black suit with a red tie. He's not being conspicuous whatsoever.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Well, okay. To be fair, it really depends on where he's going, where everyone's sort of fashionable and proper, like Germany here.
Addam: yeah
Zach Sheets: make He blends in. But if he was wearing...
Addam: But even when he's wearing like a disguise, he's still like six foot five and bald.
Zach Sheets: True.
Addam: And just with a serious face.
Addam: Oh, man.
Addam: Why'd they do like a like a sheathing of a sword?
Addam: dude, look at that. It's action.
Zach Sheets: That CG did not age well.
Addam: Oh, here comes a train.
Zach Sheets: That would have been mission failed for a couple of people.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: What the? I forgot he's superhuman.
Addam: Why doesn't he just kill him? That's the whole thing, right?
Zach Sheets: He doesn't have a gun.
Addam: But Agent 47 can kill with anything. That's his whole jam.
Zach Sheets: True. But usually kills of like weapons.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: What? He has an earpiece in the whole time? Where the hell is the rest of his team?
Addam: Damn, dude. Nice car.
Addam: Oh, now he just just got the fight like on the tracks and now he puts a silencer on his weapon. Come on, dude.
Zach Sheets: He's trying to be inconspicuous now. Also, I think we're up to 22 drinks just because this guy died.
Addam: on, yes, we do.
Zach Sheets: Come on, Agent 47. Put a little, ah some speed in that walk.
Addam: guess the inherent issue with a lot of these movies with multiple kills and stuff is like the amount of random people you just have to hire to just die is crazy. Just bam, like for a full day's work.
Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: I do like the Agent 47 is just like a slasher villain where he just walks and he's like instantly rubber band behind whoever's like he's chasing.
Addam: Yeah. Yeah.
Addam: you Yeah, it just definitely gives off like Halloween vibes.
Addam: I mean, you could have just talked to those people. You didn't have to shoot it up.
Addam: You think you're safe in the embassy?
Addam: That's my one critique so far about Agent 47 is that I just wish he was more bald. You know what mean?
Zach Sheets: Yeah, like more clean.
Addam: i don't like the the Jason Statham shaved head thing. I just wish you would just straight just shave his head with a razor.
Zach Sheets: m
Zach Sheets: You want a clean shave, not a five o'clock shadow shave.
Addam: Yeah. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: My name's Zachary Quinto. I used to be in a lot of movies.
Addam: Yeah, man.
Addam: I'm actually like in the Starfleet. You might not. It's so crazy. he got Dude, his Star Trek movies are so good. The new ones.
Addam: He made these nuts. had say it had to do it. Here he comes.
Addam: I mean, come on, dude. Every time. It's so corny.
Zach Sheets: Does that count as Guns Akimbo?
Addam: No, because he's not holding them.
Addam: There's a guy here with a bunch of guns. yeah um me just Come on, man.
Zach Sheets: So, like, one of the...
Addam: Why would they bring the thing into his? Why would they bring it it with a round in there?
Zach Sheets: Asking for problems.
Addam: Come on, man. Exactly.
Zach Sheets: So like if you remember the original trailers for this, it was just basically this scene with like set to like music. It was like shot. It's like really it was like the first minute of the movie here of the trailer. it's like hey, do you want to see this movie? Like without any context, it's just weird.
Addam: He brought all of his weapons in the interrogation room with him.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, like.
Addam: come Come on, dude.
Zach Sheets: It's what you do in video games.
Zach Sheets: In a video game, whenever the protagonist gets captured, you leave all his equipment in the same room.
Addam: So crazy, dude. You're supposed to leave it in a chest by the door.
Zach Sheets: ah That's just regulation.
Addam: Come on, man.
Zach Sheets: Oh, 23. twenty three
Addam: Oh, 47. He said 47. Again.
Addam: again
Zach Sheets: twenty four
Addam: That's so vague.
Addam: yeah He could just be guessing at that point.
Addam: but mother that
Zach Sheets: 25. 47 to get. five what are you something to get
Addam: Come on, dude. wendy but Why do you have to chamber around?
Addam: man.
Addam: Wow.
Addam: I mean, come What are we doing?
Addam: Was you saying this is the scene that was in the trailer?
Zach Sheets: The trailer, yeah. It's like shot for shot, this whole part.
Addam: I didn't mean it.
Addam: I mean,
Addam: mean see, in the video game, they would notice the fact that you had a sniper rifle. There we
Addam: wouldn't be calling him Sir, but yeah. Whatever, man. I'm not going to get that into this. And he changed the outfit again.
Zach Sheets: See, in Germany, you could hijack a cop car.
Addam: And they're all BMWs, so they're nice.
Addam: There's no elevator in this situation
Zach Sheets: Oh. That
Addam: Oh, shit.
Zach Sheets: would have been cool if we saw that in a movie.
Addam: That's a lot to know say that you don't know much.
Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Addam: He's still saying shit. you this is This is the opposite of I don't know much, sir. he
Zach Sheets: Yeah, this is very in detail that you mentioned it.
Addam: This is a lot, dude. This is like I know enough.
Addam: But I don't know anything else. Nice.
Addam: Oh, my God. He's still going with the information. i don't know much he said.
Addam: He's going to curve the bullet like he wanted.
Zach Sheets: want Anyway, end of episode.
Addam: yeah
Addam: Oh, dude, that's such a sick shot. I'm not going to lie.
Addam: That's like a speed runner straight right there.
Zach Sheets: yeah
Zach Sheets: And that's time.
Addam: yeah
Addam: Yeah. Time is actually when he finishes saying the stuff that after he said, I don't know much. After he's done explaining everything that he does know.
Addam: She's
Addam: just taking miscellaneous pills at this point.
Zach Sheets: I
Addam: Sorry if you can hear background stuff. This is Mexico.
Addam: Stuff in the street.
Zach Sheets: thought that was part of the movie too and i was like what hotel is this?
Addam: Yeah, ah my name is actually John Smith, you know.
Addam: Jesus Christ, I'm sorry.
Zach Sheets: Whoa.
Addam: Zach might have to come back in this and cut out some noise from my side.
Zach Sheets: That sounded like it drove through your house.
Addam: Dude, it's a crazy. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Well, good thing this movie isn't plot heavy since um everything was explained in that car ride about this character we haven't seen yet.
Addam: you
Addam: yeah
Addam: You just did.
Zach Sheets: yeah don't believe anything. he's like, I can't tell you anything. it's like You know a lot more than you say. And then you're just revealing stuff.
Addam: Yeah, you keep saying it.
Addam: I don't really know anything except everything at all.
Addam: Disappointment.
Zach Sheets: why secretly am a I'm Daredevil just because I got like danger sense.
Addam: it's like it's their survival skills it's like stupid shit like you know how you can cook ramen noodles without fire you're like what
Zach Sheets: You know, I just love pulling alarms.
Zach Sheets: Whoa, that's a huge crazy person board.
Addam: Dude, she just set this up too. This is like a So you just have all this on you at all times.
Zach Sheets: How's he not shocked by this? He's like, oh, okay. okay
Addam: Cool.
Addam: Lung cancer.
Addam: I didn't even know there was a He was stage eight then.
Zach Sheets: There's five stages.
Addam: What?
Addam: Dude, it's crazy how much this dude knows about her father after saying he absolutely knows nothing.
Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: But he knows, like, his his favorite hobby...
Addam: <unk> harby
Addam: He knows the languages he speaks.
Addam: What?
Zach Sheets: She's like, I'm Thai?
Addam: It's not Thai. That's like Indian.
Addam: Sri Lanka is the island off the coast of India.
Zach Sheets: Ah.
Zach Sheets: I'm an American. I don't need to know this.
Addam: Tamil is like a Indian language.
Zach Sheets: You know, i'm confusing.
Addam: which
Zach Sheets: I'm confusing, like, Shangri-La and Sri Lankan.
Addam: It would belarious be hilarious if like, she's like, your mother was Sri Lankan and like, she starts seeing like bobs and pagine and they like lashes and shit.
Zach Sheets: yeah
Addam: to like, what? No.
Addam: Oh shit. They're already on to me. Hello, sir. We're talking to you about your extended warranty on your car. What the fuck?
Addam: They're on to us.
Addam: Oh, man, he got her.
Addam: Can you put her in a bag? Where'd that bag come from?
Zach Sheets: That's like in the game sometimes.
Addam: Oh, yeah, he killed that guy. Right? Did he kill him?
Zach Sheets: Mmm.
Addam: I don't know.
Zach Sheets: Mmm. don't want to spoil yet.
Addam: Probably not.
Zach Sheets: You can take a pre-drink, but don't worry.
Zach Sheets: It's the shot it's a thing where it's like it's shocking but that's what's weird about this movie.
Addam: this is i think this is about the reveal of syndicate, so I think we might be drinking anyway.
Addam: he put He put her on that like that ball chair from Casino Royale or whatever.
Zach Sheets: it does
Addam: She's like, it doesn't work on her. I'm like, what?
Zach Sheets: Just keeps tapping her like thigh. He's like, hey
Addam: I want to torture you. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: I feel like one of the rules later on would have been like father. Like anytime they mention father, just like drink.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Take my hand if you want to live. Oh, there's barcode.
Zach Sheets: 25, no, 26? 27, guess for that. Kid 47?
Zach Sheets: twenty seven i guess for that
Addam: I guess.
Zach Sheets: hit forty seven
Addam: Kid dude.
Addam: There's the barcode again.
Zach Sheets: That's 27. think it's
Addam: But it looks like more of a brand in that one than like a tattoo.
Zach Sheets: it's like fresh.
Addam: It's weird.
Addam: Faja. Dude, it does sound like Goldmember.
Zach Sheets: yeah
Addam: faja
Addam: I thought he was going to like, you haven't even been tied up this old.
Zach Sheets: hope he's booting up the training machine.
Addam: Oh, man, dude. What I wouldn't give for one of these fans right now, dude. It's like 90 degrees.
Zach Sheets: But like, Agent 47 set up like a saw trap.
Addam: I
Zach Sheets: Live or die, the choice is yours.
Addam: i mean, this is this is like straight from the game. This stuff would happen in the game. If you do the alternate and like the alternate kill type things, the cinematic kills,
Zach Sheets: Yeah, just sort of like triggering the the like environmental traps.
Addam: power
Zach Sheets: She's believing. She's doing shit she never done before.
Addam: it was my
Addam: She's beginning to believe.
Zach Sheets: Those are my cranium pills.
Addam: Oh, shit.
Addam: It's
Zach Sheets: 43! Woo! Well,
Addam: not, yeah, it's not. Wait, what? I don't think that's 90.
Zach Sheets: it's French. honestly French.
Addam: cut. It's got that I like 40. forty I don't know. I don't speak French.
Addam: So welcome back, guys. we're Today we're going to figure out how to do this. So what you want to do is actually you want to shoot three times at the one area, and that will cause them to all converge on one area, and they will completely ignore you as an assassin.
Zach Sheets: and And this is a no clip run. ah
Addam: Yeah. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: But for a glitch run, what we're going to do is ah save right here and restart again.
Zach Sheets: See how like.
Addam: So that's the real question is the fact that like, this is obviously an active factory. Like where are the workers at?
Zach Sheets: Yeah, that's that's an OSHA violation.
Zach Sheets: Like the grinder would be in its own room. It wouldn't be there.
Addam: There's the engine.
Addam: All right. So you're taking the air off. So what are you doing? that That's not what?
Zach Sheets: Right. That's how it works, right? Like a compressor could just be a silencer.
Addam: That's the emergency stop button. So
Zach Sheets: Psych.
Addam: that's all right.
Zach Sheets: That big red button is the like, watch your head button.
Addam: because you're a distraction.
Addam: So you trust this dude?
Addam: Oh my God.
Zach Sheets: Barcode.
Addam: Yeah, i guess so. I guess he has been killing all these dudes this whole time. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: ah So I think we're up to like 30.
Addam: What the hell was that? What did he say?
Zach Sheets: That was a wind blade like the the fan.
Addam: Oh. Oh, man.
Zach Sheets: 31 drinking references so far.
Addam: yeah can be I've been watching too much Comptown lately. I can't ah can't take that seriously.
Addam: Well, the thing is, I'm special.
Addam: Oh, and he killed him. Nope. o
Zach Sheets: Two deaths. 33.
Addam: Nope, there they go.
Zach Sheets: thirty three
Addam: Yeah, obviously.
Addam: Yeah, I mean, of course.
Zach Sheets: I mean, it's the same era where, like, John Wick was a thing where they had magic bodysuit clothes, so...
Addam: Move in.
Addam: get I mean, it's one of those things where it's like, I guess he's good at acting as Agent 47, which you mean is like you're not supposed to act like you have any emotion whatsoever.
Zach Sheets: Right.
Addam: So it's not acting. It's just like saying the words that they tell you. But I mean, still, it's crazy.
Zach Sheets: Well, that's the thing.
Addam: It's not good.
Zach Sheets: So if you ever saw the first a Hitman movie, it had too much like emotion for him.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Yep.
Addam: So that that rubber ducky is a reference a direct reference to the game. And this...
Zach Sheets: Toaster in the bathtub.
Addam: Toaster.
Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Oh, man.
Zach Sheets: Here's the real Agent 47.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Psych, that was Agent 46, and this is Agent 47 coming into the movie now.
Addam: It's so hard to picture him not as Spock.
Zach Sheets: Before he was Spock, he was in Heroes as...
Addam: Indonesia.
Zach Sheets: as, like... Scylis or Siler, like the like this vain villain. So every time I see him, I see him more in that than I do in Spock.
Addam: The amount of cameras that they got going on is just too much.
Zach Sheets: Well, they're monitoring everything.
Addam: I wonder how many times that that legit stock footage of that plane landing has been used in any movie. Because it's like the exact same. Just a vague city in the background. It's a plane landing in Sunset.
Addam: I'm finding that and I'm using that in my next video that I post on YouTube. No matter what. And I think it's tomorrow going to like some candy shop or some shit. For no reason, I'm just going to post
Zach Sheets: Flying in for some candy.
Addam: it. It's
Zach Sheets: I'm coming in for a landing.
Addam: the emergency stop button. Okay.
Zach Sheets: See, here comes the, like, game but game mechanics of just make your own way, do your own thing. But, like, I kind of don't care about Kate. Like, I want see more about Agent 47.
Addam: You know, the amount of time I've waited for checked bags, dude, you know how pissed I would be if someone pushed the emergency fucking stop thing? It'd be so fucking mad.
Zach Sheets: Okay, this is the airport scanning thing, so I get that now.
Addam: What the hell is that? Surfboards?
Addam: I mean, come he went through the whole rental car process and everything.
Addam: bold yeah
Addam: Yeah, see, like I like i said, i think that I think they preload all the drinking stuff because they haven't really mentioned anything in a while. I don't know if this counts as showing his bar good.
Zach Sheets: guns, or his barcode.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, they up fronted it, so you get to, like, i don't know, enjoy the rest of the movie, where it actually gets better, because it's part of, like, it feels more like the game, and...
Addam: Yeah. yeah
Zach Sheets: this point, the movie should have just been this early. It didn't have to have, like, a fake-out.
Addam: Target located.
Addam: wet stoning his knife that hasn't been used yet.
Zach Sheets: Oh, our
Addam: Barcode again, that's a specific barcode thing.
Zach Sheets: um code
Addam: so
Addam: I don't think they really ever explained the purpose of the barcode in any of the games, except for now.
Zach Sheets: they only explain in like two,
Addam: Because that, see see, what he just said there doesn't make any sense. And you, of course, as an IT guy that understands computers, understands that and if if a barcode is generated, a number is generated with it. So if you were given the barcode at birth, that barcode has a number associated with it.
Addam: So you can't just be like, oh, they tattooed a barcode on me and then added a number later. That's not how that functions.
Zach Sheets: Unless they already have like the whole indexing system ahead of time, because he's like, okay, by then they like knew what numbers to give each one.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: If not, it's like...
Addam: Yeah, I mean, it's
Addam: this is amazing like they generated a QR code. It's after a while, the URL they're using for the QR code just doesn't work because they stop they yeah they stop paying the bill on the website monthly.
Zach Sheets: It's an offline site.
Addam: And they scan his barcode. It just doesn't work.
Zach Sheets: It goes to like a porn site.
Addam: Yeah. Just do a...
Zach Sheets: An online casino ad.
Addam: What's the, and you what's that service? mu am That joke would have been better if I remember the name of that a that famous service that provides.
Zach Sheets: You're the man now dog like a YTMD.
Zach Sheets: That's a hosting.
Addam: GoDaddy. That's what I was thinking of. GoDaddy.com.
Zach Sheets: but a web hosting
Addam: Yeah, that's what was thinking
Addam: I mean, what the fuck is with this two guns thing?
Zach Sheets: ah That counts as guns and combo, so... 35?
Addam: Yeah, I guess it does.
Zach Sheets: No. to stop, because holy crap.
Zach Sheets: thirty nine
Addam: feel like I feel like you're counting because you're not drinking.
Zach Sheets: well i had to stop because holy crap
Addam: Hey, buddy. Some of us are playing the game legit.
Addam: What is this scene? Why did they need to show her going in the pool?
Zach Sheets: They just like watching her get wet a couple times. This is the second time she's already like in a pool or a shower.
Addam: his deep fucking balance do Why wouldn't they still be in the holsters if he's sleeping like that?
Addam: but
Zach Sheets: hurt
Addam: Oh, she took it apart.
Zach Sheets: Her need to disassemble it took over.
Addam: His guns.
Addam: See, he can kill anybody with anything.
Addam: I don't even know what he killed that dude with.
Zach Sheets: I think his knife.
Addam: That's not really how that pistols work, but all right.
Addam: sorry Sorry, I'm autistic. i mean, I had to take them apart.
Addam: I still haven't showered from the swim I took last night.
Addam: Oh, the syndicate mentioned.
Zach Sheets: Eh.
Addam: Be careful that kid is an assassin.
Addam: No.
Zach Sheets: He stole little kid's inhaler.
Addam: Just giving a kid a knife.
Zach Sheets: This is... This is better than breathing.
Addam: Cool, bro. Yeah, dude. My medical condition, brother.
Zach Sheets: My rescue inhaler.
Addam: Exactly.
Addam: Again with this weird technology.
Zach Sheets: I like his hallway TV.
Addam: Yeah, exactly.
Zach Sheets: yeah
Addam: Dude, these buildings are so crazy.
Addam: Just like zoom in on fucking Pauly Shore and bio dope too.
Zach Sheets: So is this a this is not a real place, obviously, but... Like... This is like a... Like a architectural Marvel building, and I'm like,
Addam: yeah
Addam: It's the weasel.
Addam: Old Pauly Shore.
Addam: I've been trapped in here for 40 years. What was it?
Addam: And I'm knock off Alan Rickman.
Addam: I've been trapped in here for 30 years. Yeah. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: You ever watch Game of throne Thrones?
Addam: yeah
Zach Sheets: Yeah, I saw... Like, I didn't know that like, I mean, he shows up later as Mance Raider as like the.
Addam: yeah
Zach Sheets: The like King of the North or not, the not the King Beyond the Wall.
Addam: yeah
Zach Sheets: And ah it's like I saw him from this, you know, it's like, oh, it's the dude from Hitman.
Addam: Oh,
Addam: oh this place is, I know this place, this is in China.
Zach Sheets: Singapore.
Addam: Yeah, this is in, did yeah oh yeah, this is in Singapore.
Zach Sheets: This is Singapore.
Addam: Yeah. Because I've seen these in like a any videos on YouTube.
Zach Sheets: Like, art videos. Yeah, i think the hotel over there is, like, themed off a boat.
Addam: Yeah. Because it's like forest lights up at night with these things.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, so sounds was like, this is a real place. Just some of the shots are rendered, like, awkwardly, but...
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, that makes sense why it's, like, a technical marvel. I'm like, whoa.
Zach Sheets: they They got this in before like a Bond movie could be here.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: But as I said, like it reminds me of like a globetrotting espionage venture, but it's not really espionage.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: It's just like a ah thriller.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Yeah, I can see that.
Addam: Oh, here he comes.
Addam: I mean, we knew he was your father. Why'd you have to say it like that? 47.
Addam: Yeah. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: See, it's got the same message as, like, Terminator 2.
Addam: yeah
Zach Sheets: No fate of what you make of it or something like that. It's like the line.
Zach Sheets: Brother.
Zach Sheets: So, they all his children?
Addam: Even that baby. and What the hell, dude?
Zach Sheets: Oh.
Addam: Is the baby real, dude? What the hell is going on here? Is that baby fake or is it dead right now? That's crazy.
Zach Sheets: That was Agent 120. Alright, that baby... that baby
Addam: getting in the alley.
Addam: Gotcha.
Addam: like how they have to do that even though it's an automatic.
Zach Sheets: Is it an automatic car? Or is it manual?
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: it's You know what's crazy is that initially this dude was supposed to be played by Paul Walker, and now it makes more sense with this scene yeah
Zach Sheets: Wha-
Zach Sheets: Huh. ah like I could imagine Paul Walker being in this movie.
Addam: in here.
Addam: It's like they're doing the driving scene, and you're like, oh, that makes sense, I guess, now.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, because Agent 47's not really known for his driving parts.
Addam: Yeah. Yeah, there's no driving missions in Hitman.
Zach Sheets: That's what like about the upcoming Bond game. It's like, he's going to be all like bits of both.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Nope, a couple dead.
Zach Sheets: It's like 41 drinking references now.
Zach Sheets: Now this is pot racing.
Addam: It's straight ahead. So you do this like weird turn.
Addam: is that dead? don't know if that's dead.
Zach Sheets: don't that's dead, but he definitely messed up his legs.
Addam: Nope.
Addam: think Maybe it is the CGI is so terrible. It's so crazy.
Zach Sheets: I mean, it's not super distracting. It's just it's not. Flowing well.
Addam: I guess it it's an interesting choice to film it in Singapore.
Zach Sheets: Maybe for like tax reasons.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: I feel like Singapore so expensive. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Oh yeah, it's like one of the richest like places to like do things. It's like Dubai if like they actually got their economy like safe.
Addam: and I would say it would be like Chinese Dubai. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: That's fair. like But this was first in the sense of like they they still have like a class issue, but it kind of makes sense for like why
Addam: Yeah. What is happening? yeah the This is like Batman technology.
Zach Sheets: But this scene is straight out of like a Fast and Furious movie.
Addam: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. dude like Like, the later half of this movie, when he's in a car, it makes more sense why they would want Paul Walker for this. But but the first half of the movie, i don't I can't see Paul Walker as this guy.
Zach Sheets: Mm-mm.
Addam: Or like the amount of money that they would have to offer Paul Walker for him to shave his head.
Addam: Dude, look at all the same... They're they're all blue cars. Did you see that? That's all CGI cars.
Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Addam: Look at that.
Zach Sheets: It's copy-paste.
Addam: That's crazy.
Addam: how many blue cars there are. Is that the taxi?
Zach Sheets: think that's like their taxis.
Addam: Is that their version of taxi?
Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Addam: Oh, yeah. I guess he's killing all these people.
Addam: It's like an unlimited amount of people.
Zach Sheets: and At this point, this isn't Hitman. Hitman, you have like a shootout like this.
Addam: Yeah. Well, I mean, if like I said before, if you're this is your first playthrough, then yeah, this is exactly it.
Zach Sheets: This is how you play Hitman.
Addam: Oh, he shot him.
Addam: It's like, go on without me. Dude, you're the person we've been searching for this whole movie. yeah
Addam: You're literally the the plot of the movie, dude. Why would we leave you here? and This doesn't make any sense.
Addam: Grandma, but no.
Addam: Come
Addam: you have me, sister?
Zach Sheets: Just mumble those words.
Addam: He's a master in acupuncture too. I
Zach Sheets: Did he pick that up from like the street and just stab her?
Addam: don't even never' know. don't even know what that is supposed to come from or where, what is this? What does he have in his hands right now?
Zach Sheets: So that's a perforator.
Addam: Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It was like, it looks like some sort of shit for sewing.
Zach Sheets: I think it's used so that like you run that across and then you know well like what to like saw into.
Addam: yeah it gives you like a it gives you an even spacing for whenever you're actually sewing by hand
Zach Sheets: Hmm. Hmm.
Addam: and it's such a weird tool to just have as a torture tool because it doesn't i don't think it really pierces your skin at all i mean it's kind of sharp i guess
Zach Sheets: It's like, look what i picked up at Michael's.
Addam: It is.
Zach Sheets: Oh, that's smart to say to a crazy person.
Addam: Yeah, that's fair.
Zach Sheets: We're injecting you with old-fashioned Forloko.
Addam: They start doing the MK Ultra shit on him and give him just a ton of LSD.
Addam: Dude, I mean, these desks are so great. Like, what is this space that he's in? I would feel like i would i feel like I would go insane if I was in an office that would like look like this.
Addam: Like, how would you get any work done whatsoever?
Zach Sheets: Yeah, no, it's like it's so distracting to see your logo like that and that weird bright font.
Addam: Yeah. yeah
Addam: they like holding him His office is the place where they kept Magneto in X-Men.
Zach Sheets: So that was his like panic room like that.
Addam: It says no plastic.
Zach Sheets: Very like.
Addam: ah It's only plastic.
Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Addam: There's no metal at
Zach Sheets: No, no metal.
Zach Sheets: It's a very sterile room and it just looks like I it doesn't look comfortable to be in.
Addam: all. That chair he's sitting in does look comfortable, though.
Addam: Damn, dude, is this Assassin's Creed?
Zach Sheets: Stergo, yeah.
Zach Sheets: So we mentioned want it, but like this guy's in want it.
Addam: He also kind of looks like a knockout version of Daniel Craig, too.
Zach Sheets: Kind of the haircut the haircut.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Like he's only in this movie to try and get a role in his 007.
Addam: And this dude's his du's monologue is terrible.
Zach Sheets: He hasn't had a lot of scenes, so he's trying to make up for it in this one
Addam: Yeah. yeah
Zach Sheets: one moment.
Addam: like he's he's Like, I don't understand what he like what emotion he's trying to portray in this situation. Is he trying to be, like, scary or something or, like, intimidating?
Zach Sheets: That's like sinister evil guy monologue.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: but he's trying to convince him to give up the secrets to make up, to make more Asia 47s.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: You know what I just realized after he said that? I don't think there's a single black person in this movie so far. but There was?
Zach Sheets: No, no, there was, there was, it was, it was the driver.
Addam: Oh, it was the driver that got shot immediately.
Zach Sheets: Yeah. Yeah. yeah
Addam: Because he said not like people like us. I was like, wait a minute now.
Zach Sheets: Well, okay, so...
Addam: what This is weird. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: No, no, no. There's, like, a thing. They're, like...
Addam: Yeah,
Zach Sheets: In the game, the lore is that it's, like, based off of Nazi science for the genetic purity.
Addam: that makes sense.
Zach Sheets: It's hinted at here, but, like... In the game, that's why John Smith is very, like... ah He's got an inferiority complex. He's very, ah like, Aryan kind of centric.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: And then, you know, doesn't help that it's like, this movie has like, some German parts in it. So like, in the game, it makes sense in in that origin of Hitman 2.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Because like, that's the whole purpose of like, the perfect specimen, the like, super soldier, and then all that. Like, it gets...
Addam: Yeah, that's fair.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, it's like though I looked it up later and I was like, wow, that's insane. Which you don't get that later in the series. Like they kind of diss themselves on that part.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Can you imagine in the speedrunner community? It's we're going to skip this cutscene.
Addam: Yeah. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: There's like Aryan rant cutscene.
Addam: yeah yeah
Zach Sheets: But if you go back and watch ah original Hitman like one and two, it's hard to watch. It's not it does not age well.
Addam: yeah
Addam: See, that technology actually exists. It's pretty cool.
Zach Sheets: The frosted glass. Yeah.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: she She uses her super senses to read what is exactly in front of her. Like on the screen in front of her.
Zach Sheets: ah
Addam: In red and white. they Let him pick that up.
Zach Sheets: She's a master assassin. like This is a great is a great power move.
Zach Sheets: Oh, that was a death.
Addam: Hey guys, I just want to let you know, helicopter mechanic here, former army helicopter mechanic here, just to let you know, that's probably not what happened because me
Zach Sheets: I think the tail would snap off.
Addam: the yeah the the blades of the helicopter are actually made out of like a honeycomb kind of situation going on but the with a very thin layer of carbon fiber and they break almost immediately on impact whenever they hit them.
Addam: you know i don't want to be the I don't want to be the trigger or discipline in a movie guy. You know what i mean?
Zach Sheets: But, I mean, you want to be like, you just can't throw a helicopter in a room and have the helicopter be like one stable, like, craft.
Addam: yeah
Zach Sheets: You mean to tell me crashing helicopter is not like a viable option for like, a power move?
Addam: ye Yeah. I'm here to tell you that.
Zach Sheets: I always thought helicopter blades were a little durable, but yeah, I didn't think the whole thing was like one giant metal rod, like solid piece or anything.
Addam: Yeah. Yeah.
Addam: I'm here. I'm here to tell you that exit wounds that that scene and exit wounds didn't actually happen. All right. The helicopter didn't just. Oh, sorry. i'm getting this distracted.
Addam: Nope.
Addam: And he's gone.
Zach Sheets: so Do you remember the the movie ah The World is Not Enough?
Addam: Yes.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, so he, Zachary Quinto's got the same, like, his nerves are like, he can't feel anything.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: That's why he can, like, deal with all this, with his subdermal.
Addam: But he said, no, he has like subdurable like bulletproof skin or some shit like that.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, but, like, they these his, like, his neurons are meant for speed, so it's like, he doesn't feel the pain.
Addam: That's what he's saying.
Addam: Yeah. But so how do you kill that which is unkilling? It's the ineric thing.
Zach Sheets: The dumb computer desk.
Addam: Nope. He just... just The Tron controller just brings him The master controller brings him into Tron's face.
Zach Sheets: A terminal pops up, master controller starts talking.
Addam: All
Zach Sheets: Thank you.
Addam: right. I guess that's how you kill
Addam: So you short out an entire building? All right, nevermind.
Addam: You just killed a guy.
Zach Sheets: Oh yeah. 46?
Addam: yeah
Addam: Dude, what is this music?
Addam: Oh, he's killing three dudes right there. So there's three.
Zach Sheets: forty six
Addam: taking the elevator this time apparently and he wanted to dig the stairs last time. so Does it count as a kill if it's like she's killing someone?
Zach Sheets: I think it's a kill's a kill.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, like, why is it like cruising music that's playing? Like...
Addam: Dude, this music is so terrible. It's like it's wanting to be like a Quentin Tarantino movie or something.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, yeah.
Addam: That's it feels like. I
Addam: i mean, this is a classic Hitman thing where there's like a couple of guards around the exit helicopter.
Addam: Alright.
Zach Sheets: I think
Addam: So they're going to kill all them people, which are probably about six people, I think, with a counter.
Zach Sheets: it's like eight.
Addam: Yeah, that's a decent amount.
Zach Sheets: So that's ten. So up to like... 55? 56?
Zach Sheets: fifty five fifty six
Addam: i love it do i I love helicopters like that with fluid landing gear that retracts. They look so good.
Zach Sheets: Mm-hmm. huh
Addam: Sorry. That's me all just coming out. on helicopter
Addam: um many got him
Addam: Goddamn, he can't get Silent Assassin on this one. He's have to restart.
Addam: Look at them, the brother and sister killing the same guy at the same time. Such family bonding.
Zach Sheets: fifty seven fifty eight
Addam: you Do you remember the first time you killed someone with your family?
Addam: All right. It's a waste of good helicopter.
Zach Sheets: And the blades are still intact.
Addam: Exactly.
Addam: Does it make any sense?
Addam: No.
Zach Sheets: So going to say like this is 58, 59. The pilot.
Addam: no I don't know. Well, I guess the father killed two people, the pilot and the, uh, that other guy.
Zach Sheets: pilot oh
Addam: I mean, if the, I mean, that's just assuming that there was only one person in the cockpit, not like a pilot and a co-pilot. There might've been, andy I still can't. Why did they choose Asian for this?
Addam: events
Zach Sheets: Well, okay, this movie's like funded through...
Addam: She's like a British woman. Like she's like an old British lady. Yeah. a
Zach Sheets: Oh, Diana sometimes switches. She's like, sometimes like middle-aged or younger.
Addam: Do,
Addam: I guess. I feel like my parents would not die to save me.
Zach Sheets: Well,
Addam: I don't know about you. You come from a Chinese family too. I don't know if your parents would die to save
Zach Sheets: maybe not the helicopter option. It's a very extreme parenting method there.
Addam: me. Yeah.
Addam: yeah
Addam: Oh, shit. The original guy. Isn't he from the first? He's from the first movie, right?
Zach Sheets: No, this is just been cool.
Addam: right
Addam: Oh, I thought he was like a cameo from the first movie.
Zach Sheets: And it seems like they killed him.
Addam: He had guns akimbo, too.
Zach Sheets: Yep, so... That was, uh... 60. 60 references to drink to. Wow, Diana gets a...
Addam: Jesus.
Zach Sheets: Like, Angel Baby gets, uh, the first credit name.
Addam: Angel baby.
Zach Sheets: So I think it's because this was like funded, like one those like the Chinese help fund this movie. So that's why it's like, all right. p
Addam: Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Singapore is kind of like a Chinese puppet state kind of thing. go Oh, wait, there's an after scene here.
Addam: Oh, this is...
Zach Sheets: See you in the sequel.
Addam: That never comes out.
Zach Sheets: Well, no.
Addam: Do you have another hitman coming after this?
Zach Sheets: But ah in the game, John Smith is like an albino, like super agent.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: That's that's like.
Addam: Yeah, I mean, i can't I can't really say like, hey, the game has it going on because they also have Eminem as one of the people that you can kill and they have Mila Jobik or whatever.
Zach Sheets: Jolovich.
Addam: Yeah, they have her as a person that you can kill in one of the things too.
Zach Sheets: Hmm.
Addam: In one of the, I forget what they're called.
Zach Sheets: Like special mission?
Addam: They do like... Yeah, they do like these missions where they release like one time only and you only have one shot to kill these people. And if you mess it up or anything, the only way to do it is to buy another version of the game. It's weird.
Zach Sheets: Leave to buy it again?
Addam: I don't know. Yeah, or like Alt-F6 whenever you mess it up.
Addam: um Yeah, it's... I forget what the name of it is called. There's a very specific... um name for the type of mission that it is.
Zach Sheets: um see what
Addam: But it like I said, it's like a very specific it' a very specific like event-based thing where they they come in, they rework a level, they add like new characters to assassinate and stuff, like Eminem or whoever.
Zach Sheets: I'm wondering like if there's ever to edition where just like all of them I can just like offline. just I want to play those missions later.
Addam: think
Addam: I think that they also have like fan created stuff that might like be similar to it or something like that like individual missions that are created by people but i'm like i'm not crazy like i said i watch atriok and i watch like a couple of the uh hitman speed runners um and occasionally they do those missions that come up But they're always like the Hitman speedrun community is insane.
Addam: The stuff that they do in there is crazy.
Addam: don't know. How did you enjoy that movie, man? Yeah.
Zach Sheets: it's It's like what I... I see this movie like... I saw it again like a few years ago. And I didn't see in theaters. It was like one of those things where I saw it like streaming somewhere and i was like, I got nothing to lose.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: And I forgot that the first part of the movie is like a like a fake out where you you think like Hitman, like, you know, Agent 47 is more like the villain.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: But now it doesn't kind of make sense to his character because...
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: you know, you're following this like Sarah Connor character.
Addam: That makes sense. Yeah. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: And then as soon as like they team up and it's just like, this is the what the movie should have been just a straightforward thriller. He has to protect her But like, because they did that in the previous hit man attempt and it was just like more of a comedy.
Addam: yeah
Zach Sheets: It was weird. If you ever see the original one, um,
Addam: Yeah. Yeah, I saw the original one. It's not great. but You know, it is what it is.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, it's not great, but this one is slightly better just because it has like more like Hitman things and it's it's got like more of the lore weaving into it explain like the agents.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: I just...
Addam: Yeah, like I said, I'm not, like, I don't know. I've tried. I've done it, dude. i've i've bought I think I purchased that game on, like, a Humblebutt or some something like that and tried playing it multiple times.
Zach Sheets: Mm-hmm.
Addam: But it's just its that's not a game for me. i don't know. It's just, like, the the mechanics that that are involved in that game aren't really like any other first-person shooters that I've played. um and they're not like any other adventure games that i played either. It's very unique in the way that it plays, um and it's just not... I'm not a big stealth game guy outside of Splinter Cell, and that has never that will never be a thing again, ever.
Addam: But, yeah, I mean... that i just I have a huge respect for the IO team and like what they've done with those games. like I said, the amount of open world in these small areas, the amount of replayability in these, these simple levels that you think are simple, but they have so much small hidden details where like, you know, you, you can do a bunch of events to trigger certain things that eventually end up in an assassination of game are so crazy that it's like, whenever I look at these hit man movies that they come out with that are like,
Addam: i they're not i feel like is not even involved in these movies whatsoever. You know what I mean?
Zach Sheets: Yeah, yeah.
Addam: It's so crazy.
Zach Sheets: they Someone just, like, looked at the game, said, I'll do my own thing, and then it's just, like, they just completely, like, it misunderstood the the, like, appeal of making the movie feel like it should be, like,
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: a more like adaptable kill where he's like, hit man's just sort of looking around like, okay, that, like that, like PC together, like a detective of like, like Sherlock Holmes and things that the guy, Richie one, where it's like, if I should do this.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: yeah
Zach Sheets: But like,
Addam: Like I said, my favorite my favorite things to watch are like the hitman kills that are like designed the way, like watching videos of like people doing the kills, like the way that like,
Addam: theoretically the way that the developers intended, which is not really saying much.
Zach Sheets: Mm-hmm.
Addam: Because they have like a lot of stuff where it's like story-based kills and stuff like that. they had like a They had one where they had literally had Bruce Lee in there as the as one of the events.
Addam: And they had this thing where like you had to... you had to drug a guy that was competing in this martial arts tournament and then take his place and then you killed bruce lee while you were doing the uh the competition against him or something like that and like there's there's like so it's so in depth on like what they do with with these storylines of like how they kill people in these elaborate ways that are so very like clean and precise
Addam: Whereas this movie, it just feels like, yeah, like like i said like I said before, where it's like, it feels like, hey, this is my first time playing Hitman and I'm just going to kill everybody. know what mean?
Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Addam: Instead of just getting going in, killing the person in a very weird way that makes it seem like I didn't actually shoot a person. They did like some weird shit where like they trigger an event where, i don't know, something happens and they get killed in a mysterious way as opposed to you know Agent 47 just going there and shooting every single person there and then killing the guy in the end.
Addam: It feels kind of lazy to me in a way. You know what mean?
Zach Sheets: Yeah, yeah, I get that where it it doesn't feel creative. It feels very just like rush action, generic action.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: And in a movie, that's the thing that separates like Hitman games from other kind of action bro, like running guns.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: It's like supposed to be methodical. It's supposed to be like, you're not supposed to know that he did this. You know, meanwhile, like that's why end the movie just so it's OK, generic shootout, like
Addam: Exactly.
Zach Sheets: The running and shooting is just like meaningless now. But like that that's for like the audience who invest the time at least.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: And then it's like, all right, like we're just going speed run this section of the movie.
Addam: yeah man i just because i i mean i saw it on wikipedia so i'm not wikipedia imdb so take it a grain of salt take it as you want that paul walker was supposed to be the main aging 47 on that so i mean but i'm just like trying to picture paul walker in that and it's it's just such an interesting thing to think of because I know Paul Walker out outside of fast and furious also did some like parkour movies and stuff like that. So I feel like they would have done like completely different direction with Paul with aging 47 and like even furthered it away from the games.
Zach Sheets: Oh, it would have been it would have been closer to the first movie where, like, Timothy Aliphant...
Addam: Yeah. Yeah.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: He's not a bad actor. He just he just wasn't Agent 47.
Addam: yeah
Zach Sheets: So... But just...
Addam: yeah
Zach Sheets: so but it it just
Addam: There's a thing Agent 47 where it's because ah you're playing a video game as him, as like this entity that has no emotion and anything. So it lets you disconnect from the killings and stuff like that.
Addam: And whenever they they do another person as Agent 47, no matter who it is, it's gonna it's it's going to be very hard to judge that as like an outside being because you're not directly in control of this person, I guess could say.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, and I like that it's like Rupert Friend is like he he is that like he was not really well known in America.
Addam: yeah yeah yeah
Zach Sheets: So for him to be in this was good. I think i think it really plays the strength. It's like I don't know who this guy is like good because like he's supposed to be like in anybody like he's a template character like you said.
Addam: yeah that's fair yeah
Zach Sheets: But overall, I think we both agree, like it's enjoyable. It's silly. This movie is like for a video game adaptation, you could see like where they were closer to the games and some parts.
Addam: yeah
Zach Sheets: And then they just said, all right, like we still need that generic Hollywood action part.
Addam: yeah I mean, it's one of those movies where it's like, i don't think it's good or bad enough to be like rewatchable on my own. like I wouldn't go out of my way to rewatch this another time.
Addam: But if it was like, don't know, man, all on the TV, I'd be like, whatever.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, it was like, if you're at a con, someone throws it on the TV, you're like, oh, okay.
Addam: Yeah.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Like, it's not, it's good background movie.
Addam: yeah and since Yeah, if someone was... ah If someone was streaming this through a projector that was attached to a Game Boy Advance or something like that, or whatever crazy technology that comes out at some of the cons that we go to, like I would sit around and watch Whatever, Gary.
Zach Sheets: Agreed. ah
Addam: But yeah, like I said, I wouldn't seek this movie out on my own. It's not, like I said, because you and me both are like in that same category where there's movies that are good that I'll rewatch again. And there's also movies that are pretty bad that i love rewatching just for the the corniness of it.
Addam: ah But this isn't either one of them. It's kind of like a, yeah, it's it's okay. It's whatever. You know what mean? Like it would be like a solid five out of 10. Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Just rides that middle.
Addam: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: ah So, Adam, where can people get more of you?
Addam: Uh, so currently I do actually, I started a channel this year. Well, I didn't start it this year, but I started getting more active on my YouTube at the ad man two, three, one, five on YouTube.
Addam: Um, where I've just, I live in Mexico and I've been going to a bunch of various non-Mexican places and stuff and trying stuff. Like there's a huge, Oh my goodness. I'm telling you, dude, when you come here, we're going to this place because you're gonna Your draw is just going to drop at the amount of memorabilia on the walls of this place.
Addam: That is just it it's just so crazy. But I also, think on Instagram, it's theadmantravels. um Yeah, and it's that's just shorter versions the video, but like everything's on YouTube.
Addam: And yeah, definitely check it out if you're into oh a white guy in Mexico trying random stuff that's not Mexican.
Zach Sheets: All right. Well, from everyone here, everythingaction.com, sketch you guys around.
