Introduction and Dubai Weather

00:00:05
Speaker
Hey, hey, hey, everyone.
00:00:06
Speaker
How's it going?
00:00:07
Speaker
Welcome to the Expat Brad Podcast.
00:00:09
Speaker
It's Salman Koreshi.
00:00:10
Speaker
You're listening to me in the end of Feb.
00:00:14
Speaker
In fact, it's the second last day of Feb.
00:00:17
Speaker
And I and you, we all know it's time to go, oh, my God, Feb is almost over.
00:00:23
Speaker
Where's the year going?
00:00:25
Speaker
I had so many plans.
00:00:26
Speaker
What's going on?
00:00:27
Speaker
It's already March.
00:00:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:00:29
Speaker
Now that I've got that out of the way, we can start this episode.

End of Winter Reflections

00:00:34
Speaker
I man, Dubai is hot right now.
00:00:38
Speaker
It's like hitting upwards like mid 30s Celsius for those of you not listening in America.
00:00:47
Speaker
Like the thing we all follow as opposed to Americans with their Fahrenheit.
00:00:54
Speaker
Anywho, it's gotten hot real quick.
00:00:57
Speaker
I'm hoping there's like a cold wave around the corner that will embrace us for a couple of months or a couple of weeks even before we hit May, June, July and go into depression or summer as they call it.
00:01:13
Speaker
here and uh it's it just baffles me now just i you know i get fomo every time winter's about to end and like even when winter starts i'm like i gotta go i gotta make all all the use of it that i can like every single second of it and then you never do you're never satisfied enough and then it's the end of winter and for those of you who don't live in the middle east our winter
00:01:38
Speaker
is basically just good cool weather it's not cold it's uh maybe apart from a couple of days it's not super rainy except again for a couple of days and so it's really just gorgeous weather for three four months and it's the best time to be anywhere in the world this is the best place to be any in those days so
00:02:02
Speaker
Anywho, it's coming to an end.

Optimism for 2023 and Comedy Success

00:02:04
Speaker
And here we are.
00:02:05
Speaker
And I'm I'm and Feb is ending.
00:02:08
Speaker
And I've kind of fallen behind again on my gym stuff, which is annoying me.
00:02:12
Speaker
But there are other things that are running so smoothly in my life right now.
00:02:16
Speaker
That's almost a little scary.
00:02:17
Speaker
You know, you watch these shows about people who are bored.
00:02:22
Speaker
housewives, I don't know, suburbians, suburbian suburb people.
00:02:29
Speaker
And I'm sitting there going, this stuff is going too smooth.
00:02:32
Speaker
Like I had a few things I wanted to get rolling and put into place and it's going touch wood, man.
00:02:37
Speaker
And and I don't want to ruin it or jinx it.
00:02:40
Speaker
And it's good.
00:02:41
Speaker
So I'm glad that kind of stuff is going fine for me.
00:02:45
Speaker
I just had a great feeling for 2023.
00:02:48
Speaker
I'm normally not superstitious.
00:02:50
Speaker
Right.
00:02:51
Speaker
But 23 is one of my favorite numbers because of Michael Jordan.
00:02:56
Speaker
And in my head, it was like 2023.
00:02:58
Speaker
The Star Wars is like, it's going to be a great year.
00:03:00
Speaker
And so maybe it's true.
00:03:02
Speaker
The law of attraction is attracting good stuff to me.
00:03:07
Speaker
It's attracting the best of the best.
00:03:09
Speaker
To be honest, it really has.
00:03:11
Speaker
I've had two stand-up gigs, one in Jan, one in Feb, that were awesome because it was to a big crowd.
00:03:18
Speaker
I was opening for two great comics.
00:03:21
Speaker
One was Ismo.
00:03:22
Speaker
I've talked about it.
00:03:23
Speaker
And then recently, I just happened last minute to be added on to open for Mark Lotring.
00:03:29
Speaker
He's a South African legend.
00:03:32
Speaker
And he's a legend for a reason.
00:03:35
Speaker
The dude did 90 minutes of stand-up comedy without a second of low energy.
00:03:44
Speaker
It's incredible.
00:03:45
Speaker
I'm always watching different... And for me, it was a real learning experience as well because Ismo is kind of intellectual and smart and very low-key.
00:03:57
Speaker
He will stand in one place for his 90-minute show.
00:04:00
Speaker
And then Mark Lottering comes in and he does a 90-minute show.
00:04:03
Speaker
And he, I don't think there was a second where he was standing still, you know.
00:04:09
Speaker
And I watched both of them and I go, wow, I don't know which one's the right one.
00:04:13
Speaker
Obviously, I think what suits your style and jokes is what makes it the right one.
00:04:18
Speaker
But anyway, incredible to see 90 minutes of great material from both comics.
00:04:23
Speaker
And then with Mark Lottering, it was just high energy, 90 minutes.
00:04:26
Speaker
I was laughing.
00:04:28
Speaker
So hard through the whole show that by the end right I'm not making this up by the end.
00:04:34
Speaker
I was too tired to laugh So I couldn't get like my voice out like I couldn't muster this trend to laugh out So what I ended up doing was I had this silly grin on my face and I was just clapping along Because that was my only way of showing appreciation for the material because it kept going strong
00:04:53
Speaker
right up till he said goodnight and and then some because he actually said goodnight once and then he did a little bit of an encore bit and and it was incredible and he got a standing ovation rightfully deserved it was just an incredible show um
00:05:08
Speaker
And he was super sweet backstage.
00:05:09
Speaker
Both these comics, great backstage.
00:05:11
Speaker
Just a good reminder.
00:05:13
Speaker
You know, the biggest comics I've been lucky, the biggest comics I've had a chance to perform, share the stage with, have just been the most down-to-earth people.

South African Comedy Connection

00:05:24
Speaker
and fun backstage, you know?
00:05:26
Speaker
There's only one comic, I won't name him, early on in my career, he's like a mid-level Biggie comic from the States.
00:05:35
Speaker
And he was so aloof backstage.
00:05:38
Speaker
And so he had these little things like, the opening acts should have a different light to mine, they better not do this.
00:05:45
Speaker
And he didn't share any time with us back in the green room at all.
00:05:50
Speaker
and these comics came in and they're hanging out they're sharing jokes they're sharing expertise tips they're showing appreciation both Isma and Mark came up afterwards and said hey you were great and really loved performing with you you know they were just nice beautiful people as well and Mark so he's huge in South Africa if you ever catch him
00:06:13
Speaker
come into your city and you're not familiar with it, and I'll tell you why I'm saying this in a second, then go and catch a show.
00:06:19
Speaker
You will not regret it.
00:06:22
Speaker
Now, the reason I say this is because when I got on stage, I realized 95% of the audience, or 98%, I'm pretty sure this is correct, yeah?
00:06:34
Speaker
It was South African people.
00:06:36
Speaker
And two things about it.
00:06:37
Speaker
One, I was disappointed other people didn't come.
00:06:40
Speaker
It was already pretty much sold out.
00:06:42
Speaker
But it was just sad other people didn't come in because I was like, you would have experienced such a great act.
00:06:50
Speaker
So missed opportunity for other expats in Dubai.
00:06:54
Speaker
So catch them next time.
00:06:55
Speaker
And the second thing that I realized was, man.
00:06:58
Speaker
You South Africans are one of the best people around.
00:07:03
Speaker
Like I just loved your vibe.
00:07:05
Speaker
I loved the whole crowd.
00:07:08
Speaker
All, you know, great up for comedy and laughing.
00:07:12
Speaker
And they were just joyous.
00:07:15
Speaker
You're just joyous people.
00:07:17
Speaker
And it was so nice.
00:07:18
Speaker
And I'm not just saying that because you laughed at my jokes during the show.
00:07:22
Speaker
But afterwards, the vibe changed.
00:07:24
Speaker
Sometimes when we meet in the foyer afterwards with the fans and the audiences and you get a sense of the people and most people are nice.
00:07:33
Speaker
I've always had people come up and go, hey, great stuff.
00:07:36
Speaker
Well, can I follow you?
00:07:37
Speaker
Blah, blah, blah.
00:07:38
Speaker
But these guys were on a whole different vibe, man.
00:07:42
Speaker
And I just...
00:07:44
Speaker
to all South Africans I love you I would love to you know I really so Ruggie and I we're planning some comedy nights with another comic as well Abs will tell you details I'll tell you I'll share more details on the podcast in a while as well but we were you know we were just building up the tour and we're already talking to a few cities and after that gig I was like hey
00:08:08
Speaker
we got to go to Cape Town and Joe.
00:08:11
Speaker
Like South Africa has to be on that list.
00:08:14
Speaker
I want to go there because it's just, you know, the people just so amazing.
00:08:20
Speaker
So amazing.
00:08:21
Speaker
I have a lot of South African friends.

Comedy Show Tips

00:08:23
Speaker
I do a lot of stuff at the Courtyard Playhouse Theater in Dubai.
00:08:25
Speaker
And it's, you know, the owners, one of them is South African.
00:08:29
Speaker
And a lot of the staff is from South Africa.
00:08:32
Speaker
And that was my first real interaction with a lot of, you know, Safas, I guess.
00:08:38
Speaker
And it's been great.
00:08:38
Speaker
So, yeah, I appreciate you guys a lot.
00:08:43
Speaker
And thank you.
00:08:44
Speaker
Love you so much.
00:08:46
Speaker
Like, I want to embrace you even more.
00:08:51
Speaker
I don't know how that works, but so be it.
00:08:53
Speaker
Anywho, so that's a...
00:08:55
Speaker
That's my comedy side going on.
00:08:57
Speaker
That's what's been happening.
00:08:59
Speaker
I really have been appreciative of the opportunities I've had and things to learn and great crowds to perform to.
00:09:05
Speaker
It really, you know, sometimes everyone, as any artist, gets a little jaded.
00:09:10
Speaker
And these kind of events, these kind of opportunities really bring you to life again and make you want to do more artistically, do more jokes, more material,
00:09:23
Speaker
like really give out to the world and it was great because last night also I was invited to close off this show by Comedy Kicks that's K-I-X if you're in Dubai they put on a lot of shows around Dubai and I love them it's this couple called Ima and Amr Egyptian and Filipino both of them and they're such a fun couple they're both also excellent comics I love watching them
00:09:52
Speaker
And they were, they've been doing some workshops.
00:09:57
Speaker
Again, if you're in Dubai, you want to learn stand-up comedy, go to these guys.
00:10:00
Speaker
They're wonderful, very supportive.
00:10:03
Speaker
And like I said, they're good comics, so you'll learn public speaking, you'll learn to be on stage, it's all good.
00:10:09
Speaker
And they'll give you lots of opportunities to perform.
00:10:12
Speaker
So they ran a class and last night was a showcase and they asked me to close.
00:10:16
Speaker
And there were about six, seven people taking stage for the first time.
00:10:20
Speaker
And for any comic who's been around, you know, you remember your first one and then you watch these guys and you go, wow, that, you know, I can't believe.
00:10:28
Speaker
they have so much confidence already in everything.
00:10:31
Speaker
And it was wonderful to see all these comics.
00:10:33
Speaker
Great material as well.
00:10:34
Speaker
So Ima and Amr, well done.
00:10:36
Speaker
You've definitely put in the work with these guys.
00:10:40
Speaker
It showed on stage.
00:10:42
Speaker
It made me think, though, it's a little tip.
00:10:45
Speaker
If you're doing stand-up comedy or if you're a public speaker, right, and you get on stage and...
00:10:51
Speaker
and you're trying to be, you know, add some humor into your speech, here's a little tip from me as a stand-up comic, right?
00:10:58
Speaker
Too many people have these jokes and the first few times you're doing it, you're so tense about it that you rush through it, right?
00:11:08
Speaker
Like my first time I ever did stand-up, I was actually getting angry at the audience when they were laughing because I was just like, hey, I will forget my set.
00:11:17
Speaker
I need to get through this, so just shut up.
00:11:21
Speaker
Shut up so I can get through this, all right?
00:11:24
Speaker
Stop interrupting me.
00:11:26
Speaker
And that kind of stays with a lot of comics.
00:11:28
Speaker
So they don't...
00:11:30
Speaker
Pause to let the audience laugh because sometimes as a whole, the audience needs that five seconds to go, oh my God, that's hilarious, right?
00:11:41
Speaker
Not because they're stupid or anything.
00:11:43
Speaker
It's just some jokes require that moment of like, aha, and you might have written those brilliant jokes, but you'll do a disservice if you rush through.
00:11:51
Speaker
So slow down, know where your joke, your punchline is.
00:11:55
Speaker
and stop, give it five seconds.
00:11:58
Speaker
Even if you don't get a few laughs, it's fine.
00:12:01
Speaker
You'll get over it, you'll learn that, cool, it didn't land this time.
00:12:05
Speaker
Maybe it was my delivery, maybe it wasn't relevant to the audience, or maybe it is a bad joke, and so on.
00:12:11
Speaker
But when you rush through,
00:12:13
Speaker
I see these comics like they're eating into the laugh, like the audience starts to laugh and they've moved on.
00:12:18
Speaker
And so it's gone.
00:12:20
Speaker
And you train the audience because then they go, shit, I'm just going to try laughing.
00:12:23
Speaker
This guy will move on.
00:12:24
Speaker
I'll miss the next bit.
00:12:25
Speaker
So they start laughing.
00:12:26
Speaker
I think that's my theory.
00:12:27
Speaker
They might start laughing less over a long show.
00:12:29
Speaker
So let them laugh.
00:12:31
Speaker
You know, you've worked hard.
00:12:33
Speaker
to get to that point all this was to ensure they get a laugh out of it then let them have it and let yourself enjoy it you know it gives you that moment to pause absorb it and be in the moment right so so that's uh that's that's a little tip from me i think i i hope it helps you like i said even if you're just doing a few humorous bits in in a normal presentation just give that moment yeah
00:13:00
Speaker
So I wanted to, anyway, putting this aside, yeah, all of my comedy stuff, all my events, latest, blah, blah, blah.
00:13:07
Speaker
If you follow me on Instagram, at SalmanZQ, then you'll know all my upcoming gigs and the tour when we announce it, blah, blah, blah, all the dates, details.
00:13:17
Speaker
So keep an eye on it, follow it, and I'll keep you up to date with it, all right?

Shawarma Musings and Memories

00:13:23
Speaker
Now, what I did want to talk about, what I've labeled this, is the shawarma episode.
00:13:29
Speaker
And I know this is maybe unpopular opinion, but I just think Dubai does not have good shawarma.
00:13:38
Speaker
I said it.
00:13:39
Speaker
I've said it, man.
00:13:41
Speaker
People keep sending me places to try and promise me that this one is amazing and this place is nice.
00:13:49
Speaker
And I have always suspected...
00:14:10
Speaker
that we don't really have good shawarma here.
00:14:13
Speaker
Yeah.
00:14:14
Speaker
Like there's a few different types as well.
00:14:17
Speaker
I never had these Malabari South Indian cafeteria style shawarmas, which some people love here.
00:14:25
Speaker
I don't.
00:14:26
Speaker
I don't think.
00:14:26
Speaker
I'm a purist when it comes to shawarma.
00:14:30
Speaker
And I found places that do good shawarma, but not great.
00:14:34
Speaker
And that's what I mean.
00:14:35
Speaker
Like, shawarma here isn't amazing enough.
00:14:40
Speaker
I'm saying it out loud, man.
00:14:41
Speaker
I come from Saudi Arabia, right, from my early childhood.
00:14:44
Speaker
And I'll tell you, Saudi...
00:14:46
Speaker
just had the best shawarab I've ever had anywhere.
00:14:50
Speaker
And maybe it's a childhood thing, then I'm nostalgic about it.
00:14:53
Speaker
But there was this place in Jeddah called Sharafia.
00:14:57
Speaker
All right.
00:14:57
Speaker
And Sharafia, it's not like a, it was a bit more like old town in terms of the area.
00:15:05
Speaker
And I've heard recently it's been broken down, which is sad to hear in a way, but I guess it's part of some big vision of Saudi to redevelop the city and so on and so forth.
00:15:15
Speaker
Yeah.
00:15:16
Speaker
Anyways, back then, back in the 90s, Sharafiya had loads of shawarma places.
00:15:24
Speaker
And as a kid, I didn't realize that it wasn't common, but the shawarmas in Sharafiya were slightly different.
00:15:31
Speaker
First of all, you could even get camel meat shawarma way back before it became a trend.
00:15:35
Speaker
out here, yeah?
00:15:36
Speaker
And it was awesome.
00:15:39
Speaker
And then they had these shawarmas that came in kind of the samoli bread.
00:15:43
Speaker
At least that's what they called it there.
00:15:45
Speaker
It was much like a, not like a hot dog roll.
00:15:48
Speaker
I don't know how to describe it.
00:15:49
Speaker
What can I compare it to?
00:15:50
Speaker
Like French bread maybe, but not really.
00:15:54
Speaker
A bit between like a hot dog and French bread.
00:15:56
Speaker
And so it wasn't like a normal Arabic bread wrap.
00:16:00
Speaker
That came...
00:16:02
Speaker
in my life much later when I started having chicken shawarmas.
00:16:06
Speaker
So beef and camel shawarmas was the more common thing back then.
00:16:10
Speaker
And they'd add these spicy stuff in it.
00:16:13
Speaker
And those shawarmas were just amazing.
00:16:18
Speaker
And I don't know if you still get them there, that kind of style, or it's completely disappeared.
00:16:23
Speaker
But I've never had it here.
00:16:25
Speaker
And then even the chicken shawarmas, the cafeteria ones, I was just like, this ain't shawarma.
00:16:29
Speaker
These are good sandwiches.
00:16:30
Speaker
I don't hate them.
00:16:31
Speaker
But this ain't shawarma.
00:16:33
Speaker
All right.
00:16:33
Speaker
I don't know what sauce you're doing with this.
00:16:35
Speaker
Where's the garlic and blah, blah, blah.
00:16:37
Speaker
And even recently, I've had some Lebanese places open up here that I've tried out.
00:16:41
Speaker
Aloe Beirut.
00:16:43
Speaker
What's the Bar Bar, which is supposed to be a legend back in Beirut.
00:16:48
Speaker
And they were good.
00:16:50
Speaker
but they weren't amazing, all right?
00:16:52
Speaker
And I don't know why that is.
00:16:55
Speaker
Well, actually, Barbar and Alo, when I first went, were quite good, much better.
00:17:01
Speaker
And then I kind of went, oh, they dropped the ball a little bit.
00:17:05
Speaker
So I don't know if it was just that day I didn't have great.
00:17:08
Speaker
But again,
00:17:09
Speaker
Not great, man.
00:17:10
Speaker
Not great.
00:17:11
Speaker
I've done a TikTok video about this place near my house, which is, again, really good shawarma.
00:17:16
Speaker
Not great.
00:17:17
Speaker
I don't know what makes a great shawarma.
00:17:18
Speaker
Maybe it's the right amount of garlic sauce in the chicken shawarma that I like, and so I haven't been able to find it perfectly.
00:17:25
Speaker
And in Saudi, the chicken shawarma is often had french fries in it, too.
00:17:30
Speaker
I don't think any shawarma place does that here.
00:17:32
Speaker
Why not?
00:17:33
Speaker
Hey, I've given you an idea.
00:17:34
Speaker
If your thing kicks off and people start eating your shawarma a lot more because of this advice that I've just given you, then send me back some love.
00:17:42
Speaker
Send me some free shawarmas maybe.
00:17:44
Speaker
I don't know.
00:17:46
Speaker
And so, you know, it's been a battle for me.
00:17:50
Speaker
My brother and his wife, they tell me they're based in Canada, in Ottawa.
00:17:57
Speaker
And they said, you know, they have so many Arab families there and blah, blah.
00:18:01
Speaker
And so they're like, they've had better Shahrirma there than they've had in Dubai.
00:18:07
Speaker
And man...
00:18:08
Speaker
I don't know what else to say.
00:18:10
Speaker
I have immense respect for my brother's shawarma tastes.
00:18:15
Speaker
He knows food and he knows what he's talking about.
00:18:18
Speaker
So when he told me that, I shouldn't have been surprised.
00:18:22
Speaker
I was just disappointed.
00:18:23
Speaker
Like, where's Dubai's A game when it comes to shawarmas?
00:18:27
Speaker
And why hasn't it...
00:18:29
Speaker
You know, it's supposed the other thing that really ticks me off here is most of the places are decent or very overpriced now.
00:18:37
Speaker
You know, show reminds the street food, man.
00:18:39
Speaker
I grew up.
00:18:40
Speaker
I don't expect prices to say from when I grew up.
00:18:43
Speaker
Yes, there were four or five terms.
00:18:44
Speaker
In fact, you know, when there was a chicken show that came out, I was like four or five terms reals in Saudi.
00:18:50
Speaker
It was like, whoa, man, you're splashing out.
00:18:53
Speaker
Yeah.
00:18:54
Speaker
And now, you know, you don't get shawarmas for like less than 20 durhams or some shit like that.
00:19:00
Speaker
And I'm like, I don't know.
00:19:02
Speaker
To me, it was all the street food.
00:19:04
Speaker
And maybe because it's so sanitized, maybe that's another problem that's come across with shawarma.
00:19:10
Speaker
And again, I'm going to keep reminding you guys, there's good shawarma.
00:19:12
Speaker
One of my friends took me to the Wafi Gourmet Restaurant.
00:19:16
Speaker
Good shawarma.
00:19:17
Speaker
Not great.

Cultural Reflections and Critiques

00:19:21
Speaker
Anywho, that's my take on the showroom.
00:19:24
Speaker
I was here, man.
00:19:26
Speaker
I don't know.
00:19:27
Speaker
Feel free to send me some places.
00:19:29
Speaker
There was one in Sharjah.
00:19:30
Speaker
I used to have the Fresh Chicken King back in...
00:19:32
Speaker
early 2000s.
00:19:34
Speaker
I think it's still around.
00:19:35
Speaker
I don't know if it's still good because I haven't been in that part of town for like, I don't know, a gazillion years or something.
00:19:42
Speaker
Back then it was good.
00:19:43
Speaker
It was one of the closest ones to the Saudi South Shorma that I had and I haven't had.
00:19:50
Speaker
And I'm also wondering which country has the best shawarma.
00:19:54
Speaker
I've been to Jordan.
00:19:55
Speaker
I didn't really have street shawarma there.
00:19:59
Speaker
Not been to a lot of other countries.
00:20:00
Speaker
I've been to Oman, Bahrain, Saudi, of course, UAE, all different parts of it.
00:20:06
Speaker
So I wonder which Arab country claims to have the best shawarmas.
00:20:10
Speaker
And can they compete with the one in Ottawa now?
00:20:13
Speaker
I don't know.
00:20:15
Speaker
I don't know if that's possible.
00:20:16
Speaker
But apart from my...
00:20:18
Speaker
sad life around shawarmas.
00:20:20
Speaker
I still eat a lot of shawarmas because I love these things.
00:20:25
Speaker
I, you know, yeah, I guess that's it about the shawarma stuff that's on my head, man.
00:20:33
Speaker
What else am I doing?
00:20:34
Speaker
Right.
00:20:35
Speaker
I watched Fleshman in Trouble.
00:20:38
Speaker
It's on Disney.
00:20:39
Speaker
Great show.
00:20:40
Speaker
It's about this guy who's going through a divorce and it starts off very funny.
00:20:45
Speaker
It kind of keeps that tone somewhat.
00:20:49
Speaker
But overall, it's a great show to watch.
00:20:51
Speaker
I zoomed through it like seven.
00:20:53
Speaker
You love it when you watch a series.
00:20:54
Speaker
You're gripped by it.
00:20:55
Speaker
And I ran through the whole eight, nine episodes as fast as I could, consumed it, and burped it out.
00:21:03
Speaker
It was great.
00:21:04
Speaker
It's a great show, great acting, great cast.
00:21:07
Speaker
And it's based on a book.
00:21:08
Speaker
So I guess that's where the meaty stuff comes.
00:21:11
Speaker
My only...
00:21:12
Speaker
my only little complaint about it was it starts off as the about the guy's divorce but then one of his female friends it becomes her story as well and her her thing too is roped in and it just felt like it was a bit bit bit of a switcheroo when you watch the first episode of what's happening it's a little crazy he's on apps and and that's how they advertised it like this newly divorced person is navigating apps i thought it'd be a sitcom of that sort but it goes way deep uh
00:21:40
Speaker
Normally, I would have hated them doing that to the show, but because it's still such a good show and fun, I still recommend it.
00:21:47
Speaker
It's really great.
00:21:48
Speaker
And yeah, man, apart from the fact that they're trying to change...
00:21:54
Speaker
the Roald Dahl books and apparently the James Bond books as well.
00:21:58
Speaker
Everything else is good here, man.
00:22:00
Speaker
I don't know why they're doing that.
00:22:02
Speaker
I know there's been enough controversy around it.
00:22:03
Speaker
I think it's dumb.
00:22:05
Speaker
I think, you know, I think I'm a little tired of people going, I'm offended.
00:22:08
Speaker
Like it was written.
00:22:10
Speaker
It's there.
00:22:10
Speaker
If you don't like it, don't buy it anymore.
00:22:12
Speaker
But obviously it's the publishers, right?
00:22:14
Speaker
So they want to keep selling this book and they know their consumers will buy it.
00:22:17
Speaker
It'll create the right controversy around it, make it relevant again and repackage and resell.
00:22:22
Speaker
So I get the commercial side of it.
00:22:25
Speaker
uh i don't know as an artist i feel bad as someone going through this whole bending down to every vocism situation it sounds bad to me the wrong thing to do but here we are and um and it's happened and i have no power over stopping it so what's the point of complaining
00:22:47
Speaker
right i wish all the only thing it makes me go is i wish i had the old um additions and i would and i could have kept it but i guess they'll probably shoot up in price or and not be as available right so we've lost that opportunity and i will regret that forever because i don't know he could have just preserved some real history and republish it sometime down the line or something and told people actually the original said this haha
00:23:17
Speaker
Anyway, that's me.
00:23:18
Speaker
That's my life.
00:23:19
Speaker
That's my thoughts on things going around.

Closing Remarks

00:23:22
Speaker
I hope you guys have a good week ahead.
00:23:24
Speaker
I hope you have a great March ahead.
00:23:26
Speaker
And I hope you've been having a great year like I have been having.
00:23:29
Speaker
And here's to wishing all of us a great year, man.
00:23:31
Speaker
You take care of yourself.
00:23:32
Speaker
I'll catch you on the next episode.
00:23:33
Speaker
Goodbye.
00:23:34
Speaker
Or as a dog would say, woof.
