Speaker: There's no right way to do it.
Speaker: Oh, we're going to get into it. What up, moms? I'm Whitney Williams, and I'm here with my best friend, Candice, and this is the Mom Group Chat Podcast. How the hell are you?
Speaker: God, I love you. I missed you. I want to catch up today. i am so excited to catch up, you guys. It's been weeks We got a little break, which we do, but yeah we both were on vacays. Candice's was more business vacay. Mine was more like favorite vacation of my life vacay, but we're back.
Speaker: We're so back, and I'm so excited to record and catch up today. Like, even though we talk all the time and I actually feel like we talked less in this, in these couple weeks than we have.
Speaker: maybe you just felt that way. No, I felt that way. I was insecure about it. I was like, she hates me. there is true. We just were like, we both were running a million miles a minute, you know?
Speaker: Yeah, I feel like work is ramping up for both of us. it It is my busy time of year. Like it's end of year, budget planning yeah for next year, et cetera. So it's just like, it is my busy time of year. And it's it's like, okay, I felt like I was going to be well rested after vacation. And I came back to like dumpster fire. So I've just been busy. Yeah, totally get it.
Speaker: Work has also picked up for me, which for me is like a welcome change because i think I talked about this, but like my work was slow AF in the summertime. Like I was having an identity crisis about it. I was like, do I even want to do this anymore? Like, I don't even know. It's been so hard. And then bing bop, boom bop, bing bop, bam, we're back. And I am like busier than ever and have such cool clients. And like, I'm back. I'm so back. But um I'm also running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
Speaker: So it is what it is. You know, you take you take the good with the bad. And this is good for you. It's good. It's good because I'm making money and I will always choose making money. Oh, yeah. that's That's amazing. And I'm i'm yeah excited for you. But yeah.
Speaker: I don't know. Like, where do we even begin? We're in my favorite month now. Welcome, Octobers. We love you I'm with you. Candice is even leaning in, actually putting me to shame on Instagram. Let's start there. Honestly, listen's let's start with public geek publicly bashing me. Okay. No. Yeah. Whitney. No, this is about you. This is about you.
Speaker: but I hope you know that I did not do that for any other reason other than to make you proud of me. That was it. I'm just jealous. I'll say it. Your house looks great. I don't know what came over in me this weekend. I just had, i was bit. I was bitten by the fall bug and I got sucked into an Instagram algorithm of pumpkins and decorating.
Speaker: And also, i can't remember if I even told you this like in our text thread, but my husband had the stomach bug on Saturday. And he was unwell. Like, did not get out of bed for the entirety of the day. And I had a very full day with the girls. And it was just... Do you know when you like...
Speaker: you just have no choice but to go. And so I just was like, listen, if we're going if I'm going to go all in, I'm going to make this day exactly what I want to do. And I wanted to decorate. And I didn't have Vinny holding me back, being with me at Walmart, being like, we don't need that, you know? So i was like, screw it. I'm, I'm going to get everything I want. I'm going to like, just go all out. I got, I got myself a 12 pack of fall beer Which honestly has turned into a problem. Like I'm now having a fall beer every night and I cannot be doing all that.
Speaker: She's a pumpkin ale girl. That's so funny. Oh God, it's so delicious. um I'm like, I used to love beer in college. I've kind of, I don't drink it anymore. i I got, I don't know where, where I was. um oh Oh, I remember now. I was at Cisco Brewery in Nantucket and I was like forced to drink one.
Speaker: And I was like, oh, it's good. I forgot that i used to like beer. i just like haven't really drank that much, but it was good. I have to say something. oh what? have to say something. And this is like probably a big statement.
Speaker: in this In this moment in time, I think I would say that I like beer more than I like wine. think that makes you a bro. i'm I'm just one of the one of the guys. i'm like, i'm what is what does Claudia from The Toast always say? She always says like,
Speaker: Like she's a guy's girl. and just because she like has a beer, but for real, a crisp ice cold beer is hits. It really does.
Speaker: i can hang and do it. I don't want a lot of them. Wine is my girl. don't know. My problem is wine makes me feel so bad.
Speaker: I actually think I'm probably like, i I mean, I don't know if you can get tested for that shit, but I definitely am like allergic. Like when I drink wine, my heart is racing. My, my face flushes. It's like a different, I have a reaction to wine where I do not have that to beer. And I don't have that to like vodka and martinis and like that stuff. So I think for some, I think, that I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm still, I still love a crisp glass of wine. I do. But if I'm going to like have a casual drink, I feel like I prefer a beer.
Speaker: Yeah. You're just one of the guys. Like I remember, I just like remember in college you were drinking whiskey as well. So you've kind of always leaned like boy drink. Yeah. RIP to me. Literally. I don't know how were doing it. You could not pay any amount of money. was at the bar drinking whiskey coke. You were. And it was weird. I mean, it was cool, but it was weird.
Speaker: It was weird. i don't know why. I don't know why I was doing that. Honestly, like, I guess I was just drinking beer at the bar and like vodka, water, lime, I think, because high noons didn't exist. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. Our life would have been changed if high noons existed. Yeah. We wouldn't have these stories we have about all how many whiskey Cokes I've, I had in one night and tried to make out with the, with the bouncer. So like, I, I choose whiskey. Think about it.
Speaker: I don't know. um i feel like that's why you game like the freshman 20 because everyone drinks beer. That was all there was. Yeah. And now there's wellness darties apparently.
Speaker: What the f. Okay. Here we are again back on our drinking talk and we always end up here. I'm so sorry. I decorated my house for fall. That's where we were.
Speaker: Um, and it looks so cute outside. We've had some neighbors like give us compliments and my heart was singing with pride and I'm in the, I'm, I'm here. I'm in the Burmonds and get this. I already ordered.
Speaker: costumes. They're going to be here tomorrow. We got that. I did. I've ordered. i mean, i shopped the JD and Jack sale. I posted about it. So I got their Thanksgiving outfits. I got their Christmas outfits. I got, I even ordered Christmas pajamas. I feel like I'm like, I'm, I'm ahead of the game.
Speaker: I'm a, I'm feeling good. Well, now I'm like stressed out because I've been talking like I'm the holiday master and now you're ahead of me and I'm, I feel like a racehorse. Like my heart is racing. I'm trying to gallop to catch up to you now.
Speaker: I don't know. I'm telling you, I was bit by a bug this weekend, but I honestly, the bug has faded already. So, oh, oh, it's over. So, um, I would like for you to do a, like a DIY of how you made your hanging pumpkin with all the tassels. Like if you could do that for the people.
Speaker: I can do it. I've had a couple of messages about it being like, how did you do this? And I've tried to explain it, but it's kind of hard to explain. And I bought video. Yeah, I will. I got an I got extra and I haven't even showed. i got these like battery powered lights that go inside them. So at night they glow now. They're so cute.
Speaker: I've seen some on my Instagram of like how people make it like for a trick or treat bucket. But yours were just so cute. And I would love to do one. Where am going to hang it? I don't know. I don't have like an overhang like you do, but I want to do it. You can find a spot. You can find a spot. I'll find a spot. I'm going to like maybe take a step back because I am in like holiday mode as well. But went into summer mode, like I said, for like one week. want to hear all about it.
Speaker: Now that I'm back from Nanny Nanny Tuck Tuck, which i is Nantucket, um it was my dream trip. Um, but I did get sick at the end. I will say like, fuck.
Speaker: I hate that. But dude, I pretended like nothing was wrong. Like I powered through. did that too on vacation. I was like, no one can bring me down from me being in my favorite place, even though I could tell I was like losing steam towards the end. Like one of the last days we were at the beach and they all like my parents and Chris like grabbed a drink and they're like, do you anything? i was like, no, I'm good. And they're like, what's wrong with you?
Speaker: And I'm like, oh, nothing. I'm fine. Really? I'm like dying. You're like in Bridesmaids when she's like, no, no no Literally like, I'm fine. um And I like went and got a Coke and a cheeseburger and i was like, God help me. I just can't keep drinking anymore.
Speaker: But anyway. It was smooth sailing ind into Nantucket and smooth sailing out, which I know we were all worried about. Oh, my God. That's amazing. JetBlue is that bitch. I've never flown JetBlue.
Speaker: make oh really? so good. I like JetBlue a lot. And every seat has a TV. It was the nicest plane I've ever been on. And I'm a big Delta gal.
Speaker: Obviously, I'm in a South. Delta is really nice, too. Yeah. i I'm in in a Southwest hub, so it is what it is. But we had to fly JetBlue up there. And I was like, God, I love this airplane. Both of them were great.
Speaker: um We got there and we got to do like all of our favorite things. I was telling Candace it's so funny because everything I love about Nantucket, I have like not really exposed to my children, aka like the shop, like a ton of shopping together.
Speaker: antique stores, um, popping into grab a drink, um, going out to eat a lot, like the equivalent that they know is like Mexican and target. Like that's yeah yeah the equivalent of shopping I do with them and the equivalent of going out to eat. So they were like, you know, oh my God. it I was like, wow, I probably should have like practiced this with them. but ah The end of the week,
Speaker: They were having fun. um Very stressful going in some of these stores. Like, these are nice stores. And the island, I felt like, was, like, not kid-friendly. There was a lot of, bit like, babies. Like, there. Like, in a carrier, probably, age-wise.
Speaker: No toddlers. I think we were the only brave ones to bring our toddlers or they were off with nannies because I never saw a toddler when I was there or like kids at all. Yeah. i had the kids oldest kids on the island for sure. And I was like, I'm the only fucking idiot dragging my kids around. um But we were getting compliments at night. um They're like, your kids are so good. I'm like, if only you know the bribes and the threats and the screens i have in front of them. But otherwise, like they really did amazing. um They had so much fun. They love the beach. They love shopping. I i loved that you were at the beach so much. I don't know why. Like I know it Nantucket is like a beach place, but seeing your stories at the beach every day, that's like not really what I was picturing. and then I felt silly thinking that because I'm like duh Candace like it's a beach town yeah I don't know yeah it was perfect there were so many beautiful shells too like that was what was really fun it's like shells love shell hunting collecting yeah it's so fun because you don't really get to do that when you go to like white sandy beaches in Destin or thirty a they just don't have that so up there it's
Speaker: There was like scallop shells everywhere. And we went every single day. It was like walkable from our house. But the people let us use their Jeep all week, which was freaking clutch. oh that's so nice. It was so nice. So we didn't have to like rent it through a company or anything. and um It was just great. We were able to like drive out to Cisco Brewery and have beers and listen to live music and like drive around the island. Chris got to drive the Jeep on the beach, which is like his favorite thing to do. That sounds like something he would love.
Speaker: I just feel like we knocked everything out that we wanted to. The the restaurant that I was most excited about. Delish. Delish. It was like nothing what I expected in there. I i was like expecting a tiny, cozy, like fancy restaurant.
Speaker: hu It felt like when we went to that sushi place where they were playing like bumping music. Oh, yeah, yeah. Kind of fun in there. And it was just dark. And I was like,
Speaker: And the food was so good. um That was the night we had a babysitter. And and my both my parents loved the food. And so it was just a good night. I was going to say, how was the babysitter and like using a random babysitter?
Speaker: She was great. My kids like hugged her immediately. And they were asleep by the time we got home. That's like all I could ask for. Wow. I mean, this sounds like truly a dream. Like this is one of those trips that I would come home from and be like, the universe loves me. am a lucky girl. Like everything goes my way. Like that's like, i I don't mean that in a braggy way. I just mean like, I always like,
Speaker: ah sounds woo of me but it's like I always like thank the universe for for everything going my way and I'm like yes I think the universe for for making me sick and not my parents because I would have not heard the end of that so I'm glad that I I was not did anyone else catch it or no or it never really came to fruition yeah Graydon and Mario I had Graydon had to stay home Monday oh okay so sorry they did catch it I mean, they like Graydon got it on the way home and I just felt bad. He was like ah he now associates the airplane with not feeling good. So great. Love that.
Speaker: Amazing. I don't know where the hell that came from. I can't wait to unlearn that one. yeah He's going to be like, I don't want to go anywhere.
Speaker: But otherwise, i mean, such a lovely time. It was like good to spend it with the kids and family. and God, it's just like my favorite place on earth. It was still crowded too, honestly. Oh, yeah. Really? i thought maybe it would be less since it's after Labor Day.
Speaker: I mean, it was pretty crowded, but it just felt so good there too. It was like 72. love the weather. Ugh. Oh, and then by the time we'd go to the beach, it was like 80 something. it was nice. The water was still warm. The dream.
Speaker: Yeah. the dream. Wow. Good vibes. We've had like, I don't want to jinx it, but we've had like really beautiful weather here the past, like since Saturday. And like even yesterday at Alice's soccer practice, I like walked the track while oh yeah she practiced. And I was like, it feels so nice out here. Like it's not like, I'm not sweating my ass off. It was so nice. And I'm just like, please have it stay this way. i can't like I feel like that's the problem with the fall that I keep saying is like we get this little nice stretch of weather and then it's over so quickly for us. Like we will be in the like 70s for maybe two or three weeks and then it automatically drops to like forty s and 50s. And you're like, no, why was that so fast?
Speaker: I don't know. Today is a high of 85, which for us is good. Yeah, it's good. That is good. Low of 75, high of 85. I'll take it. That's like literally what the temps were in Nantucket. I mean, it would get down to like 70 at night. It wasn't like too much of a swing, but we were wearing sweatshirts in the morning, sweatshirts in the afternoon. Oh, God, it's just so good. And I'm wearing my new one. I know. It looks so cute. I shouldn't have had you buy me one, honestly. Oh, well.
Speaker: oh well I would have. Next time. This one has like a little mock neck. Next time I'm coming with you. little mock neck too. God. Well, I'm so excited that it was amazing and it looked amazing. Your posts were so cute. You looked amazing.
Speaker: And I'm just, I'm glad. I'm happy for you. So sweet. And now um I feel like I'm back to reality. Fuck. Like literally that's how it felt. the The day I got home and like started working that Monday and Tuesday I was crying. well was like oh no.
Speaker: FML. Yeah. but yeah It's fine. It's fine. The house is on fire. yeah And then you left on your trip, but I feel like this was more of like an inspo trip.
Speaker: It was like half work, half play, I would say. um And it was so good, honestly. It was. So for those of you that don't know, I went to the Create and Cultivate Festival in l la which they invited me to come as a creator. so um And if you don't know what it is, it's like the largest festival for women in business in the world. There were 4,000 business owners, creators, entrepreneurs, founders there. and it's just like a super cool event, to be honest. Like it's so well done and um so inspiring. like and all
Speaker: Like hands down, the best thing about going is meeting other people and like just being around others that like are in the same like energy as you. I think something that I struggle with personally with like my work and everything I do is that I do so many things. And i when someone asked me what I do, I,
Speaker: panic sometimes because I'm like, well, you got, well, you know, I'm like, I do this and I do this and and I also kind of do this. And like, I'm like, I, I feel, I struggle with like pitching myself sometimes to people. Well, that's a lie. I don't struggle pitching myself. i just struggle.
Speaker: I struggle. Like what do I want to story? Do I want to tell right Yeah, exactly. Because I feel like I'm so multifaceted and every single person I met there and I asked like, what do you do? Or like, you know, why are you here? Every, almost every single person was like, oh, well i do this. And I also do a little bit of this. And I was like, well, I'm with my people because everyone here is also doing 10 things and like has so many different like arms to them, which I love. Um, I met so many cool ass people, so many cool creators. I met Emma Greed. got a picture with her, which that was like so crazy.
Speaker: Um, she's the, she's the co-founder of skims and good American. um business, like the blueprint. She's the blueprint for like female founder, female businesswoman. She is amazing. If you haven't read her book, you should. um And she just has such a also a fresh perspective on motherhood. She's, she has four kids on top of like doing all the businesses and everything she does. um And she's got a very blunt, straightforward, ah like she's, she's one of those people that's not like you can do it all. Like she's very forward about being like, no, you like, it's very hard to do it all. And the only reason the only reason I'm able to do it is like,
Speaker: I think she has a quote that people kind of had some uproar about is that like, she's a two hour a day mom. That's what she said. And, and like, she's like, that's the trade off I'm giving right now. And I just so appreciate that. Like she doesn't have like the guilt about that. That's just what she's choosing right now. And that may change in the future. She just got a very refreshing like perspective on motherhood. i talked to her about mom group chat. i told her about our podcast and that was super cool. um But yeah, it was so fun.
Speaker: and I met so many amazing people. i made some really cool connections for mom group chat. And there'll be some fun things coming like out of that. So I'm really excited. That was like my number one goal going to this was to make some connections for mom group chat and to just spread the spread the good word, you know, yes um, spread the mom group chat gospel. yeah Um, and I feel like I did that. That was a success. So the trip out there was worth it. And, and then I ended the trip with going to Disneyland with my brother, which is so fun.
Speaker: It was so fun. I felt like we were two little like Disney content creators. We like filmed the whole fucking day yeah And i will say the whole weekend like in LA, both the festival and Disneyland was like ah jumping into the deep end of being a content creator. I really had to like not give a flying fuck about filming and filming myself in front of people and just being...
Speaker: being like creative, i would say. So ah that was, a it was nice to like flex that muscle, you know? Um, so yeah, it was so fun. Disneyland was so fun. It's very different, much smaller. yeah um but like more vintage vibes, which is kind of cool. It's like more vibey. I would say, i will say it's like, not don't come for me, Disneyland people. Okay. I love, I really did love it. Like I loved it But it's not as nice. It's like a little more like run down. wanted you to say that.
Speaker: Yeah. Like Disney World. I've never been. Literally. Disney World is so nice. Like, let me tell you. Like we were staying at the nicest hotel in Disneyland. And I was like, oh, this don't hold a candle to any of the like Disney World resorts, you know?
Speaker: So anyways, it was so fun. Highly recommend. i loved all the content from, i felt like with you and Rob together, it's like when someone goes on vacation and they like turn it on. Yeah.
Speaker: It was just like, y'all were filming. He was filming. You were filming. And I was like, ooh, this is so fun to watch. And then like y'all were up on my TikToks, like going on the rides. And i was like, this is great. Like we need Rob to film us all the time.
Speaker: No, like it was so fun to go with him. And he said the same about me. He was like it because, you know, when you go to i love going to Disney with my kids, but it's just a different experience. And I'm yeah so focused on them and what they need and like what we're doing for them. It was so nice to go and kind of do what we wanted and then also be like, wait, let's stop here. i want to film this or I want to you know, it was just fun to do that. Y'all were vibing.
Speaker: We were vibing. We got a couple messages being like, I love you guys together. And we were like, should we just like start a page or something um do i just go full disney adult i know it's so funny we have like the same cadence of talking and like we're just like the same you know are i enjoy being around both of you um i feel like people say that about me my sister they're like y'all sound like talk alike yeah And I'm like, it's so weird because I feel like I didn't even grow up with her. Like she moved out when I was in second grade and went to college. That's so it's like crazy. So it's how do we talk alike? i don't know. and and Yeah. It's weird. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. Oh, well, it was so fun. I'm glad. i will say coming back, it was kind of like you said, I was like, it was snapped back to reality. The time between the time change and just like getting back in the swing of things with the girls and work. Oh my God. I did not work Friday to Tuesday and i was so annoyed. Okay. You said you had a great experience with JetBlue.
Speaker: I did not have great experiences with ah Southwest. I mean, we didn't have delays or any, so we did have one delay on the way back, but it was like slight, very little and it didn't cause any like ruckus in our day really. But the wifi barely worked on both of my long ass flights, which like I really was counting on working on the plane. Like I was like, how nice I'll get a, I'll get a bloody Mary on the plane. and like do work and i don't have kids who are asking me to grab them a snack like how nice no i could barely work i was sitting there trying to watch crazy rich asians on the plane because that's what i do is that not such a plane movie
Speaker: Yeah, I watch it every fucking time, except I watch Devil Wears Prada 2 on the way home. Oh, have you had you seen it before? No, it also inspired me to like, I just remember watching the very first one for the first time with when she wore the over the knee Chanel boots. I don't know why but that was like it gave me tingles in places that you know what. So I, watching this again, felt tingly. Like, am i inspired? It's giving like fall gossip girl. It's giving Real Housewives of New York filming in the fall. I'm just like, my god something about it.
Speaker: it is. open It's the way that you're describing is like how I feel when I'm like scrolling Pinterest. It's like inspiring and like, yeah. I love it. I love it. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker: The kids were great. That's one more thing I'll say since this is a mom cup podcast. the kids were so The kids were so easy to travel with at this age. i was like, oh my God, we've made it finally. like it just We traveled in April. Margo and I flew and she was also good, but it was just me and her. And she like Was a little busy. The way up there, they were a little busy. It was just a longer day. We had two like connecting flights. We had like a two-hour layover. So it was like a little more busy. The way home, they were both so motherfucking tired.
Speaker: They slept on the ferry on the way to Providence because we stopped in Providence and saw friends, which was so lovely. yeah And then the whole flight home, they both s slept.
Speaker: It was just like, wow. What a dream. So... So I got to watch Devil Wears Prada too. i was like, this is amazing. That's so nice. um Yeah.
Speaker: The girls were the last time, like when we went to Lake Tahoe in June, yeah I was like, it's getting there. It's getting easier, but we're not quite there yet. Evie was still. light Yeah. Evie still has trouble staying still. Evie struggles with being a still girl. She's a bull in a China shop that one. Margot's three and Graydon's almost five. Graydon's like the easiest one. Margot's there though. She's she's good.
Speaker: Yeah. It was nice. I was like, ooh. I'm feeling good about traveling with my kids. Oh no. Are you like thinking about going to Europe? I'm scared.
Speaker: No. no i'm I don't want to. I'm a USA gal. If I'm going to Europe, I'm going by myself with my husband. yeah, yeah. That just feels lofty too. Like I'd have to be gone for a long time and that would make me sad.
Speaker: Yeah. yeah Oh, well, I'm so glad that we both, honestly, it's always good to take time off from the pod because I feel like we come back. And by the way, when I say time off, like,
Speaker: We just meant recording. We batch record ahead of time and then obviously put them out. And then we're back recording more on a week to week basis here. And it's nice to take a little break because I come back rested and rejuvenated and like ready to hit record and that's always nice you know god i just got a notification that margo's bed is ready to be scheduled for delivery i'm scared going big girl bed yeah she slept oh that's another thing she slept in a big bed the whole time we were on vacation we got a pack and play but it looked like for like baby So I was like, let's just try it. And so she she was in her own room and she did really well. She like didn't get up in the night. She would get up a little early some like some of the days and like come out.
Speaker: But she did pretty good. so I'm like, OK, that's im so scared. I know I'm so scared, too. Evie being two and a half, I'm like, I know that that time is coming. I also have been having visions of moving the girls into the same yeah room, even though we're not having another baby right now. Mm-hmm.
Speaker: Wow. Yeah, I think you could. My friend did that. You know, Alyssa, she did that and the kids love it. But she said it was like a little hard, but once they got through it, like they, they're each other's comfort. So, and that's kind of what I feel like I'll tell Margo, like if she ever wakes up the night, just go to Graydon. But yeah, the one thing about this is like, I wish they just delivered it. And then Chris and I could set it up whenever we wanted, but they're going to put it together. so I'm like, it's like full send at this point.
Speaker: yeah Oh my God. I don't know. I've been having, they, the girls have been literally asking to move into the same room. So part of me is like, should I just full send this? And when the Evie does move into the room and turn that bedroom into like a true playroom for us, which we don't really have right now. That can work. And then whenever we do have a third baby, like then we'll turn that playroom into nursery time, you know? So I don't know.
Speaker: That I'm not I'm not doing that right now. I'm not even thinking about it, but it is on. I have thought I've had I've had that thought. Yeah, maybe for her third birthday or something. Yeah, I know. And I feel like um I had something else that I wanted to bring up and now I can't fricking remember.
Speaker: oh it was about you locking in. Oh, yes. I am in day two of my lock-in. And you guys, I am so motivated. i am more motivated than I have been in a while.
Speaker: So, okay. I had this realization two days ago that on September 29th, which was yesterday, it i exactly 90 days until my thirty sixth birthday. So I just had that realization. And i also like, even though I had a great time in LA, filmed myself a lot. I took a lot of pictures and nothing makes you realize that maybe you're not feeling your best than like seeing lots and lots of photos and videos of myself. um And I just like, not that I look bad. i think I looked cute. Like, it's not like i like I liked my outfits both days, all of that. It was more so just like, I definitely have gained, well, and I know now because I've stepped on the scale since. I've definitely gained like 15 pounds-ish from You know, last year I lost like 50 pounds and I have gained like 15 of them back. And it's like, I know, I know exactly what happened. Like, it's not like a mystery mystery. Like, I can't believe I gained it back. No girl, like this summer from May.
Speaker: So in May I stopped burn bootcamp because my membership had ended and it was pretty expensive. And I was like, Oh, I can do other things.
Speaker: yeah, bitch, I did not do any other things. And so I did not work out all summer, literally. And I ate whatever I wanted. i drank whatever I wanted. i was not mindful like at all. And I was not moving at all. So listen, the writing's on the wall. I know what I need to do. And um I also have just been, so that's like ah So that's like the physical side of it. Like I definitely want to feel better and look better going into my 36th birthday, but it was also, i have just been feeling really overwhelmed by house things, by life things. Now that the both girls are in school, i have just been like really feeling pulled in a lot of directions and I needed a better system to like organize my life and understand how I think what I struggle with is like, I almost need like a daily place where I can go to like see everything. And then from there, like decide what needs to be done. And so that's what I did. I talked to my little chat, GBT robot that knows me so well. And I'm not joking. I talked to him for two to three hours and we went through every aspect of my life And created like this plan. And now every morning at 9 a.m. m it notifies me like your daily check-in is ready. And it gives me like a menu of things that I could do that day that will move me closer to my goals. And some are physical, some are mental, some are just like
Speaker: go get your nails done today, like for joy, like things like that. And I can go in there and choose what I want to do every day. And then I'll tell it what I chose so that it updates for the next day to like, um, like refer me to different things kind of. Um, and then it'll notice, like, if I haven't said that I worked out in a while, it will like try to guide me that way. It's very like intuitive based on my goals. So Yeah, I'm locking in and I feel so motivated. i hit my 10,000 steps yesterday. yeah wait
Speaker: ate protein at every meal. i ate so much better yesterday and I'm already doing like, I just haven't felt this motivated in a while. And I feel like I have like a system in place that's going to like help me. So if you're interested, I shared the entire chat GBT on my sub stack. So, or the whole prompt.
Speaker: Yeah. And I am so excited and I am lulling because I'm in like the same spot. I just remember for us recording at the beginning of the summer and we're like, who cares? Literally, we should slip in.
Speaker: We're like, who cares? Like, it's summer. We're going full sin. Like, we'll worry about it later. It's later. We're worried. It caught up to me. I'm worried. I'm worried. And now I'm reaping the repercussions of my my ah actions. But it's fine. I feel the same way.
Speaker: i talked about this before that for some reason, fall is like my reset versus January. I think that it's because it is like four months, three and a half months versus a full year. January it feels like All right. too much The goal is a year. With this, it's like a chunk. And the chunks have goals, which is Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. And it's just like more chewable for me to yeah wrap my head around, I guess.
Speaker: And then the fact that it gets cooler, it makes me want to be outside more. So I just feel active. um But I'm the same way. i got home and, you know, i said I was sick. The first thing I fucking did when I got off that plane, I went straight to urgent care.
Speaker: i was like, Chris, watch the kids. I need drugs. And i got on the scale the second I got home from like Sunday night in my clothes.
Speaker: Oh, my God. i about collapsed. I was like, okay yeah, i I really had fun this summer. I can tell. I just like went into, I'm doing Weight Watchers. I know it works.
Speaker: Yeah. I'm back on it. So I started doing it and I already feel so much better. oh God. It just like works. It does. It does. Even like just having like two, I'm like ah only two days into my little walk-in, but even then I'm like two days in, I'm like, wow, I already feel so much better. And I've had so much energy at night, like, like so much more energy. In the same way. Yeah. I've been like, well, I've also like wanted to keep myself busy. So like at night, instead of like sitting and wanting to think about food or snacking, I've just been like cleaning the house. Like we've been outside with the kids every single day this week. We're also trying to like teach Graydon to ride his bike. I am absolutely dying because someone wrote in our Facebook group that that their husband um has been lazy about teaching their kid to ride a bike like Whitney's husband, Chris. And I about i just thought that was the funniest damn thing. my God, that is funny. Let's call him out. we Drag him. Oh, let's drag my husband. It was just like, it cracked me up, honestly. So thank you for whoever said that. But guess what? It motivated him. And so now we've been outside every day.
Speaker: He's getting so much better. We're having to do it as a family. Margo's already better than Grayton. um So there's that. But we've just like filled our afternoon versus like watching TV or having that glass of wine. Like we've just been very active. I'm like, am I bonding with my kids more because I'm dieting? Is this a life hack?
Speaker: I don't know, but it's been good. Yeah, it's been so good. i am excited to keep going. Honestly, i will say we have the busiest weekend ahead of us. Like I can't, I told my friend Hannah, our sketch she was like, what are you up to the rest of this week? And I was like, I can't hang. I'm so sorry. And I like explained everything I have going on.
Speaker: and I mean, literally starting Friday, it's like bus club, another club, another club, another club plane. That's literally what it's like just with like Friday night, we're going on this like pirate ship Halloween thing, this haunted pirate ship thing. And then Saturday morning, baby shower, 11 a.m., 3 p.m., kid's birthday party. 6 p.m., we are going on a boat, doing this boat dinner cruise thing for Marin's birthday. ah
Speaker: Sunday morning, Bucks game. So bus club, another club. Sunday night, I'm going to be like, Oh, yeah.
Speaker: yeah And going to be drinking. have lot going on. I know. I know. And I, you know, I just was talking about a lock-in, but my lock-in includes space for a Yeah. I mean, it's this time of year it comes with the territory. Like, ah we're also going to the UT Alabama game. Yeah, it is what it is. I'm not going to not enjoy my time. Also, my son's birthday parties this weekend. hi I'm going to enjoy my time. We're going to have apples so like apple slushy margaritas. Okay, I'm going to have one.
Speaker: That sounds... div So good sounds good. So good. I'm excited about it. It's going to rain, which is unfortunate. But then I was like, that's okay. Like, what do people do when they have like winter birthdays? They have it inside. So yeah, we're going to have it inside. We've had a new year's party before where all the kids were inside and ripped my house to shreds, but like it comes with it, you know? yeah.
Speaker: Okay, wait, I have a question for you because i told you, speaking of winter birthdays, that's why this reminded me that. Obviously, my birthday is December 29th and my like end cap to this lock-in is obviously my birthday and I want to have a tarot card themed dinner party. That's like now what I have just, that's my end cap to this lock-in and that's my reward is to throw myself a dinner party birthday. So I was looking at the calendar because with the way my birthday is on the 29th, A, I have to, if I'm going to have something, I have to tell people super far in advance because there's so much going on around the holidays.
Speaker: And as much as I would love to like have one on a I just want to do it on a Saturday. I just do. Okay. So my question to you, your opinion let me Let me pull up my calendar. Can you come? Number one. Well, obviously. Can you be here?
Speaker: Second of all. um Okay. Would you do the Saturday or Sunday in between in between Christmas and and New Year's? the 26th or 27th. Like just keep the party rolling. Okay.
Speaker: Or would you do Saturday, January 2nd after New Year's?
Speaker: Both are not ideal. I'll be honest. Both are not ideal. I'm more inclined after Christmas because I'm still in that mindset. You're like, let's just keep it going. I always feel this way every single year. I'm like, why aren't you more excited for your birthday? I'm still like going, you know?
Speaker: But by January, everyone's done. Yeah. Done, done. Okay. That's what I was thinking, honestly. i was like, I'm just going to do it on like Sunday the 27th. No one's working on Monday the 28th. Or if they are, it's not a very serious work day.
Speaker: Absolutely not. Because they're going to have a day off that week as anyway. So it's like so chill. Yeah. Oh, my God. That sounds so fun. I think that's what I'm going to do. i have I have such a clear vision of it. I'm like, can't I cannot stop thinking about it.
Speaker: ah Well, I'm excited for you. And I will be looking at flights. But I do want to shout out like that it is my son's fifth birthday literally this week. And I am just unwell thinking that I have a five-year-old.
Speaker: um We are doing Camp G-Unit. So it's all like camping. That cute. All camping themed. We're literally going to like move furniture around in our playroom and pop up a huge tent and do like a movie in there. so I think that'll be cute.
Speaker: um kind of unconventional of like what we normally do here but we had to cancel the bouncy house i was like damn this sucks like what are they gonna do but we're trying to come up with rainy day game plan here yeah and i think it'll still be fun because like we're in that era where it is about the kids it's not about the parental units like margo's birthday was it's about my boy and i am so I'm upset that he's this old.
Speaker: I know. i cannot believe that you have a I cannot believe that he's five. Like he was born yesterday. i don't know. He's a newborn. i don't know like this is how we got here. i feel like this is when I start remembering like my childhood around this age and I'm just like okay.
Speaker: this is crazy that we're here and he's so grown up. Um, he's also like so naughty. He gets in trouble at school, but he's such a goober and he knows right from wrong. He's just like one of the guys. Yeah. I don't know. And he like gets himself dressed for school. He's just like, so grown up in ways. And then like still my little boy, like this morning he came and got in the bed with us and he reached for my hand and we just laid there and he was holding my hand and I was like, Oh, I love you so much. So sweet. Yeah. So sweet boy. Yeah.
Speaker: But crazy. I cannot believe it. I. i okay my question to you about the rain is like, is there a chance it will change? I mean, I've been looking. It's gone up and down, but it's in like that. It's going from like 75 to 95. Like it's up there. Yeah. It's Ish not low. You know how it is in Florida. Florida, it's like rain is it'll say rain and then it doesn't really mean rain.
Speaker: I think this means rain. it'll rain for 20 minutes intensely and then it'll stop. Yeah, but it's like also sort it's like Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. So I'm like, even if we got the bouncy house, like we wouldn't be able to use it any of the other pages. Yeah. Anyway, it's fine. Chris and I are locked in. We're going to do a scavenger hunt inside.
Speaker: Exciting. They'll love that. Yeah, I think that that'll be fun. um We're just going to figure it out. Yeah, it'll be great. Yeah. I'm excited for you. I can't wait to see pics per use. Yeah.
Speaker: And I'm making cookies and taking them to his class this week because he doesn't want cupcakes. He doesn't want donuts. He wants the Pillsbury pumpkin and ghost cookies. And I was like, you're my, you're my dude. Like, yeah. Yeah. We just made those over the weekend. They're so good. They're so good. I could eat 20 them.
Speaker: No, like Vinny and I were sitting in front of the plate and we both looked at other and almost at the exact same time we said, I could eat this whole plate. They're so good. And it was in that moment I was like, i need to lock in because no you cannot eat this whole plate. Like absolutely not. no it's fine but I don't know yeah so the end well happy birthday Graydon and I feel like it would be a fun activity for you to go back and listen to other recaps of Graydon's birthday or would that make you cry
Speaker: No, that would be that sounds really fun, actually. Yeah. Because we've definitely, I mean, every year we like recap their birthdays and talk about what they're doing and how they are. It'd be fun to like listen back to those.
Speaker: I know. And I feel so lucky like for our second, like we have their full story on here. Like from. I know. Like pregnancy. From when we found out we were pregnant. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So it's so sweet. I love this. Our little diary on the internet for everyone to hear. i know. I love it so much.
Speaker: Okay. ah Well, I love you guys. I'm so happy to be back. um Cannot wait for all the fun things to come. um I'm going to post a story today reminding you guys to send us your funniest fights with your husband because I actually do want to hear those. Yes.
Speaker: That'd be so funny. And I love you guys so much. Love you. Happy October, my friends. Happy Burr. Bye. Thank you so much for being a part of our mom group chat.
