Technical Difficulties and Early Recording
00:00:13
DailySaintsPod
Hello and welcome back to the Daily Saints pod. Better late than never. Apologies. The heat has has ruined us. Yesterday was was too much for us, for our technology, just just all of it. but But we're here now, mate, with an earlier recording than we normally do. But how are you doing, Zach?
00:00:36
Zak
I'm really hot. So there's scheduling and heat and being in room with a computer blaring extremely a lot of heat out at night time was just not alright.
00:00:49
Zak
So yeah, but than that mate, living, loving life.
Club Communication Issues
00:00:53
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, look, still still nothing from the club to report back on.
00:00:59
DailySaintsPod
Still radio silence. So we're just going to continue as is with our planned schedule. We're going to continue with our keep, sell, buy thoughts. We're going carry on down the list. And...
Debating James Bree's Future
00:01:16
DailySaintsPod
And we'll go from there. So next up on the the list, mate, an interesting interesting one. I think it's a no-brainer for both of us. James Breeze.
00:01:28
Zak
Well, James Breen made it a no-brainer. Obviously, it's Keep, right? the The problem that you've got is that it's not going to be up to us because we sent him on loan.
00:01:41
Zak
He was very, very vocal about the fact that Cobb didn't say anything. He didn't really know any information. We don't really know why. Wow!
00:01:50
DailySaintsPod
There was some real foresight in complaints about lack of communication
Nathan Wood's Role and Team Rotation
00:01:55
DailySaintsPod
from the club.
00:01:56
DailySaintsPod
Seems to be a running theme, doesn't there?
00:01:57
Zak
people People keep jumping onto the Flint Downs quote about how Todd was giving them the answers. But also think that the fact that a bunch of players have come out and said they heard nothing from the club and there was a no communication is also, you know, that there might be people that dispute that, but I don't think they'll dispute it publicly. You know, but he he got sent on loan. I think it was a a terrible decision. I think that maybe there was decision-making,
00:02:23
Zak
Decisions that might have been made before, for example, they realised that they were sending Sugawara out. They thought that Roroslev would be, i think, play a bigger role. They brought in Jalert as well. So yeah i find it baffling that they decided that he didn't have a role to play so quickly. But if, for example, Will Steele was manager at the time and saw him and went, nah, I'd much pro prefer you know us to be have a more solidified, like less...
00:02:49
Zak
you know, I guess, it's not even like if they want someone less experienced. I don't understand really a lot around it. I just think they didn't think he was as good as he is.
00:02:56
DailySaintsPod
to be, to take the cynical approach about it, mate, I genuinely think the answer was we need to be getting players off of our wage book, either by loan or by sale, or we have had an offer.
00:03:08
DailySaintsPod
And that was probably all the thought that went into it at that point.
00:03:11
Zak
Yeah, but a loan, but the problem is, no, I don't necessarily agree with that because we've sent Soguara out on loan, so I understand, but then we've also brought in another player on loan, but then we've got a full transfer for a player in Roslev.
00:03:21
Zak
So if it's like, that was the that was the thinking, surely Bree is going to be on a cheaper contract than Roslev.
00:03:22
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, but the...
00:03:27
Zak
We bought him for half a million quid. Like...
00:03:31
DailySaintsPod
don't know I don't know. i don't know. don't know the ins and outs of the deal. I just, I feel like it's, you're right. It screams of not enough thought put into it. And the the key role he played coming back into the squad when he did come back speaks for itself.
00:03:46
DailySaintsPod
So you're right in the, in the format of this episode, it's a hundred percent keep at all costs really. but but you're right.
00:03:54
Zak
Yeah, I don't know if it's going to be easy.
00:03:55
DailySaintsPod
It's, it's out of the club's hands.
00:03:58
Zak
i I don't think it's going to be easy. I think I would be surprised if you end up seeing him team up with Nathan Jones again as like Charlton's best player.
00:04:06
Zak
i you know I hope that he's now realised that the clubs see value in him.
Loan and Role Discussions: Kwasi, Wellington, Yalert
00:04:11
Zak
But ultimately, by letting his contract get to a point that it's now basically expiring, is what it is, isn't it?
00:04:17
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. And look, I mean, let's be honest, the the way the communication from the club goes, he might have already re re-signed and just not been told, but you feel like that announcement in particular would be one that would go a long way into getting some fans back on side that aren't. It's... Yeah, 100% keep. I hope that we are able to.
00:04:36
DailySaintsPod
but he's going to have options. So you're right, it's not going to be easy at all. Right, next up on the list, Nathan Wood.
00:04:47
Zak
I'd say he's he's been he's acted as a very good deputy to Stevens. I think that he's one of the ones that is maybe more prone to a mistake.
00:04:58
Zak
But then if you look at the alternatives between him and like Quasi, Quasi is also prone to mistakes. And I don't think that he will be here much longer, if I'm totally honest. So i would keep him on the bench, but maybe, you know, I think that he might continue to start over...
00:05:17
Zak
stevens i don't think that it's a it's not it's not a place we have had real concern right at the beginning of the season center back was a place that we had concern we bought a load of center backs and even then we had concerns right we even
00:05:18
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. Yeah.
00:05:29
DailySaintsPod
It turns out if you play people in a formation that is not what they like playing in or is not how they've played football for their entire life, it maybe is a struggle to adapt.
00:05:40
DailySaintsPod
Crazy. Who'd have thought it?
00:05:43
Zak
Very much. So where I'm at is that i I would keep him or maybe bench him, keep keep him as an option.
00:05:45
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. Yeah.
00:05:50
Zak
But I think also i don't want to disrespect what he has put in over that last run-in towards the end of the season because, you know, it was a lot of to play and he was on the bench for a long time and to come up and, you know, essentially deputise for the captain in a way is a big responsibility.
00:06:07
Zak
And he did a right. So...
00:06:08
DailySaintsPod
for me For me, it's keep a 100%. We talked last episode about Jack Stevens and how, you know, assuming that he stays and and solidifies, that there's going to be more rotation for him expected, especially off the back of injury and and age playing a part.
00:06:26
DailySaintsPod
It's a big ask. And I think if you if you excuse the the opening 20 minutes of that one game where he only got 15 minutes notice that he was starting,
00:06:45
DailySaintsPod
You're right, of the the three options, he is slightly more prone to a mistake than the others, but that's something that, especially in that position at centre-back... you know, tends to ease out of the game with experience and the level-headedness and calmness that comes with with knowing that situation. i think that, yeah, for me, it's a keep as as a rotational player with Stephens. think that works really well.
00:07:10
DailySaintsPod
And, yeah, what like you say, once we move to playing with two centre-backs instead of three, it's almost like all of the instincts of growing up playing football as a centre-back kick back in, right? It's
00:07:25
Zak
Yes, and I think that's the other thing is that you know game time is a big it' a big factor. So it to be clear, I don't want people to think, thought it was a bad season it had been wrong.
00:07:35
Zak
I just think that, you know, I just think that currently it's in my head it's going to be Stephens and Harbour-Bellis as one the starters no matter what, unless Stephens is unfit.
00:07:46
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. Agreed. But look, a lot of games in Championship. Depth is what we're going to need. So, yeah, keep as a rotational player for me because I think he's very good.
00:07:57
DailySaintsPod
Right, next up, Kwasi. Briefly alluded to the fact that perhaps won't be sticking around because you I would expect him to be wanting more game time at this stage of his career.
00:08:08
DailySaintsPod
Be pushing to get in that senior Germany squad, right?
00:08:13
Zak
I don't know what they kind of expected. I don't know if he was brought in to kind of fully replace those centre-back roles. I don't know if we anticipated maybe Harbour-Bellis going or Stephens not really paying as much of a part.
00:08:26
Zak
Obviously, when we were a back three, he participated more. And if they were planning to keep that back three through the whole of the season, I think he probably would have played more. I think he's been really unlucky, to be perfectly honest. I think he struggled a lot at the beginning and then started kind of easing into it. And just as he started easing into it was when the system changed and then he was down pecking order.
00:08:49
Zak
And then, yeah, just hasn't really got a look in since. So I think that for his sake, he would If he doesn't get sold, i think that at the very least he'd go on loan because I think he'd need some time.
00:09:00
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. he'll be he'll He'll be actively looking to play time.
00:09:18
DailySaintsPod
that In the future, potentially, he will be coming and be this first-team player for us. He's got the right kind of profile. He's very, very quick. Yeah. So I would love to see him develop that with us, but it's not always the way that it gets to play out, is it?
00:09:35
Zak
If all of a sudden, someone if Taylor Harwood-Bellis disappears, right, because
Team Height and Fullback Movements
00:09:39
Zak
of all of the rumours that are already floating around, as they always have done since he signed with us, to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't be surprised if then we decide to keep him and then he plays a bigger part.
00:09:51
Zak
But for his perspective, I think that he would want to get more time. And I understand that.
00:09:57
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, 100% agree. Right, Wellington.
00:10:03
Zak
We don't really have any other backups to Manning. So it's for me it's for me, it's bench. But also, here is another one that has been linked to a move back to Brazil. He started to play really well and then he you know picked up a really unfortunate injury, which was a reoccurrence of an injury.
00:10:17
Zak
We really hoped it would be sort of his season. And when we did a pre-season look into some some of the young players that we kind of thought would break through the season... he was with the one alongside Matsky that i kind of expected to maybe get a bit more time.
00:10:31
Zak
And then obviously he kind of did, all right up until his injury. And then the problem is, is that a what justifications you have dropping Manning for him if Manning can play and Manning is fit.
00:10:42
Zak
And that's, I think, where he suffered. I think that he obviously did have a really good link-up play with Leo, mainly because, you know, both Brazilian, they they both clearly get on with each other. and But I wouldn't be surprised if he decides that he also wants more first-team football, really.
00:10:59
Zak
Like, you know, he made his debut in the Premier League in a win.
00:11:02
Zak
And since then, we've we've seen him here and there.
00:11:06
Zak
But, yeah, i would I would like to keep him because, you know, if Ranning goes out at this point with Jalert going back from his loan and presumably us not buying him, we have literally no other left back at this point unless we're counting Juan Larios who...
00:11:21
Zak
but I think that the problem is, is that having like a five foot one left back in a game that requires a lot of tall people, you know, one of the biggest things about our season, take away the whole spine and the Tonda stuff. But one of the one of the things that we've had this year that we really struggled with a lot other seasons is height.
00:11:39
Zak
And yeah, so i i would maybe bench him, but have a feeling that he might end up making his way back to Brazil. I don't know. That seems to be the rumours anyway.
00:11:50
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, I agree. Keep, I think that when he has played and when he's been able to get himself up to like full sharpness, he's looked very promising. You're right, it's a tough battle for that position with Manning, but also that position is a position that is very physically demanding, so requires rotation. So minutes are there to be had if he can stay fit. So for me, Keep has that rotational option.
00:12:15
DailySaintsPod
But you're right, that's not... It's not the whole all of the factors that play in, but it is what I want to see.
Yalert's Potential and Strategy Fit
00:12:21
DailySaintsPod
Next up, an interesting one, obviously leaving us on loan, although I believe we have an option, is Yulert, which is, i mean, he had a bit of a strange season, right?
00:12:35
Zak
I think that watching this season, like the diary of Yalert would be fascinating, right? Because you get to see all of this drama, all of this sidelines, and you're kind of just there, right?
00:12:47
Zak
like and Like, he kind of had a bright spark. What was it, like the Liverpool game? which feels like an age ago under Will Steele. He played pretty well, and that was kind of And then after that went out like with an injury, and then just hasn't been able to looking. Like, he's not displacing Bree, but then even when, know, like, even when we were playing in that kind of back...
00:13:09
Zak
back three, you'd have Tom Fellows picked over him all the time. don't think he's played on the left, despite the fact that can at all. And then at one point, even when Bree was out, he played like Nathan Wood or Harwood Bellis on the right instead of him.
00:13:24
Zak
And if if you're picking like your centre-back over this natural right-back, I don't know if decisions have already been made at that point. I kind of feel bad. like He was one of the ones that joined with you know a lot of a lot of promise and a lot of plaudits and you know he's trying to sort of reinvigorate his career in a way similar to karl laren i guess but obviously slightly different circumstances he wanted get into a world cup and just kind of yeah it's been like a passenger not through his own making uh and i don't know how involved in like the back of the team that he's been and stuff but yeah i i would be fascinated to know what the story is there right Same with the Adozi story, which I'm sure we'll get in the future.
00:14:03
Zak
I'm fascinated, but it is really bizarre. And it's one of those decisions where if we're going to you know pat Sporz and that lot on the back for Peretz and Lahren, which we will, and we have, especially considering I dressed up with a tin pot on my head when we did that January transfer window,
00:14:20
Zak
why Like, we also need to criticise where it's not gone right. And I think that that that is a weird loan, both for the player and it's not quite as extreme as Bromback, but it's like in a similar vein, as in we've had this player on a full season loan and we've barely seen him.
00:14:31
DailySaintsPod
a <unk> mom to To me, mate, it' it's an issue with profile, which actually, when you think back to the summer, was not only him we had the issue with, right? I think we spoke at length about one of the reasons that Damien Downs probably didn't succeed here is because...
00:14:50
DailySaintsPod
We bought him, but his profile was different to what we expected coming in. And I think that Jolert was probably signed with at least that three-back system in mind, where you have three tall, physical blokes at the back, and he, you know he has the as a smaller player, is you know run up and down the wing as a wing-back.
00:15:13
DailySaintsPod
without so so much of a concern. But once we swap systems, swap managers, swap styles, there's not really... That doesn't really work.
00:15:23
DailySaintsPod
It's not really what you're looking for with the way that Tomler wants to play the game, as demonstrated by how well Bree adapted to that and and stepped in.
00:15:33
Zak
Yeah, i just think there just wasn't a place for him, was there?
00:15:35
DailySaintsPod
So it's just...
00:15:35
DailySaintsPod
It's kind of like a mismatch. Like, where where does that fit in? Because, you know, even if you're a good wingback... I mean, it's the old Jamie Carragher quote, right?
00:15:46
DailySaintsPod
Like, no one wants to be a fullback. A fullback is either a failed centre-back or a failed winger. So if you're a wingback, right? That's the kind of thought path behind it, right?
00:15:57
DailySaintsPod
Like, if he's playing at wingback, he's probably not developed the skills that would bring him in to be certainly not good enough to be replacing, like, fellows or matski or leo so you know where does he fit into the team that just isn't really a place
00:16:13
Zak
I guess does that then answer your real long-term question about why Brie was sent out on loan? Because they didn't think Brie would have his skillset because his skillset was going to be prioritized. And then what they actually ended up doing was just playing Tom Fellows.
00:16:28
DailySaintsPod
a hundred percent bre is a is a more defensive by nature fullback. And, you know, in the same way in the system that Taylor Harwood-Bellis has allowed the freedom to sort of swan forward and and contribute in the front line, Bree has that in his game too. But if you're looking at pure profile...
00:16:49
DailySaintsPod
Bree as a fullback is closer to a centre-back than he is to a winger. Whereas Yalert is closer to a winger than he is to a centre-back. And the fullback is that sort of crazy hybrid of that position. And you know obviously it varies based on system, based on opponent as to what what what you want from that position. i just think, unfortunately for Yalert, who did look promising in the games that we saw him in, it's just not a profile that we have a place for As we stand.
00:17:19
DailySaintsPod
so so yeah, so I guess sell for me for that reason.
00:17:24
DailySaintsPod
But like you say, not really through fault of his own did look promising. And I felt potential was there when we did see him and had an unfortunate run of injuries as well to, to not assist that.
Returning Players: Focus on Joaquin Kaya Sander
00:17:38
DailySaintsPod
Right. All that's left of the defense then is the potential returning loneese. So next up, Sugawara.
00:17:52
Zak
i If well if they don't buy him it's because they can't afford him not that they want to but they don't want to buy him i think at this point where everything has gone on they if they tried their luck with a cut price they might get it i think that that was it when when we recorded the the recent episode about our returning loanies he he was on that list and a lot of his future was going to be determined as opposed to whether we went up or down
00:18:21
Zak
And I think that now that we're staying down, I don't think he's going to want to come back. And I think that they will take a cut price because he will want to stay there. That's my personal opinion. i wouldn't be upset if he came back in. It also will depend on whether or not Brie renews, because I don't know whether Aurora Sleves is going to be fit for the season.
00:18:42
Zak
we don't know what's going on there. And that would that would be our only right back, right? Like we'd have gone from having an abundance to one who has played two or three games in the season.
00:18:54
Zak
So I think that there's like probably about a 90% chance that we sell. i don't think it would the worst thing to keep him if Bree doesn't renew, but I think that's out of our hands personally.
00:19:05
DailySaintsPod
No, I'd agree. I'd be happy with keep. I expect sell. So I think that that's fair enough. And last on the defenders list, Juan Larios, who...
00:19:18
DailySaintsPod
slightly, don't know, interesting, upsetting fact. Obviously, split his season between two clubs in the same league this year.
00:19:26
DailySaintsPod
Came back in January to go back on loan to a different club. Both sides got relegated. Yeah.
00:19:34
Zak
wallet But I think the whole point with him is more to just get regular football, right? but I don't see him restarting his career with Salamdon.
00:19:42
Zak
I just don't see it. at this At this point, it's it's a sell, and that's no disrespect to the young man, but paying the medical bills long enough, so probably need to recoup it.
00:19:55
Zak
He got brought in with the Man City cohort, right, and played
00:20:01
Zak
one or two games that season. oh
00:20:04
Zak
i think that he wasn't, I think he was just a purchase with the rest of the academy that we bought. Sad, it seemed like a really nice, humble, great young guy, but just I just don't think that there's a place for him in Championship football, if I'm totally honest.
00:20:17
DailySaintsPod
like And specifically relating to the team as well, has the same problem as Yulet, right? Where he's, a I mean, genuinely, i think I've told the story on the podcast, in his debut against Man United, I genuinely turned to my brother-in-law, who was at the game with, and went, why is the mascot running to the other side of the pitch?
00:20:37
DailySaintsPod
No, wait! That's our fullback! What? Look, that's just not, not the profile, right? It's, uh, certainly not the way that we've had success towards the end of this season. So yeah, I think it will be a case of sell.
00:20:55
DailySaintsPod
Uh, yeah. Right.
00:20:59
Zak
We have one more defender that I think you've forgotten about, but I think he is returning this year.
00:21:04
Zak
And that is Joaquin Kaya Sander, who had not made, who played for us twice in the Premier League, did not make a start in the Championship, and then was sent out on loan. I assumed he'd get sent back to Valenciennes, because that's where we got him from. But instead... he was sent to a different League 2 team, Red Star, where he's only had six appearances.
00:21:26
Zak
So I don't know what's going on there. I have a feeling he's just going to be put back and put into the under-21s. But don't know if it's
00:21:32
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, I think that's actually why he didn't show up on my list, because I think he was brought in primarily to be a youth player with a prospect of becoming a first team player and presumably sent out in an effort to get minutes in senior football, which...
00:21:44
Zak
Yeah, know he only you only managed until load on loan until January, and then we never saw him in the first team. So I don't know whether or not he's going to make the jump up, or they're just they've just decided that he needs more time in youth football.
00:21:58
Zak
And I feel like it's probably the latter, to be perfectly honest.
00:22:01
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. But yeah, I've been interested one to see how that goes. I don't know if I have enough data in my brain to make an informed decision on keeping it.
00:22:10
Zak
Considering I had to bring him up and you definitely forgot he existed for a little hot second there. I'm not surprised, mate, and that's fine.
00:22:16
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, for sure. Right, let's move up the pitch slightly, get through a couple more before we hit the finish line today.
Flynn Downs: Discipline vs. Importance
00:22:26
DailySaintsPod
Flynn Downs, keep for me. Easy one.
00:22:30
Zak
as Is this a conversation? Keep.
00:22:32
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. but Clearly had his struggles last year with the manager and has been fairly open about that.
00:22:38
Zak
manager illness combination of things doesn't surprise me that, know,
00:22:40
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, then he was ill. Hmm. seems to have grown up with his mentality, with his football, seems to have got himself sorted out from the issues he'd been having with his vo ongoing illness.
00:22:55
DailySaintsPod
And in that latter part of the season was just a really important player for us. Back to as important as he was in the championship under Russell Martin. Yeah.
00:23:03
Zak
but very, very close to being sent off a couple of times, right? Like, what was it I'm thinking? The Swansea game. And that was definitely one of them.
00:23:12
Zak
And then Ipswich went out of their way to wind him up. So i agree he's matured a lot as a player and he has been crucial. I just would like to see him pick up less unnecessary yellow cards next year, right?
00:23:22
DailySaintsPod
yeah I agree.
00:23:23
Zak
Like, that that's that's it.
00:23:24
DailySaintsPod
He's... That's the thing.
00:23:25
Zak
That's the only thing. I know that it's the safest bet in football. I'd like it to just not necessarily be...
00:23:30
DailySaintsPod
The thing is that, like, what I love about his game is is that about him. He's not... He love he is... He follows the like almost Roy Keane definition, right? Whereas you know that he's stepped into a game and is happy when you see him kick someone. like That's just him. Like, yeah, i' I'm in it now. I'm in the zone. And I love that. and that's what makes him a really good player. But you're right. you know Getting booked for that is one thing.
00:23:58
DailySaintsPod
But the amount of yellows he gets for things that are dafter than that is is baffling.
00:24:04
Zak
Stop arguing of the referee and not the captain. and that's That's the only criticism I have.
00:24:09
Zak
like I think that Downs has really, you're right, gone into becoming an integral player. You can say it's because of the championship. I don't necessarily believe that's the case. I truly believe it's because of everything that went on last year and combined with the illness.
00:24:24
DailySaintsPod
I agree. I think if if we manage to get promoted next year and step up, I think he is more than capable of of making that step up.

Like you say, the circumstances of of the the season we had before are are what they are, and pretty well documented that it wasn't good for anyone. But yeah yeah yeah, look, the...

The second most booked player in the championship this season. In fact, joint top with Matt k Crooks from Hull.
Zazz's Contributions and Management Decisions

13 yellow cards across the the year.
00:25:01
DailySaintsPod
But yeah, I mean, look, like say, absolutely keep. I think we're a better team where he plays.
00:25:06
Zak
yeah No, it's not really even a debate. I just hope we can keep hold of him, and I'm hoping the the Vultures are too busy circling the other members of the team right to to pick up on him.
00:25:19
Zak
i wouldn't be surprised if we can talk about at a later point, I'm sure. But I know that there's already interest being shown Charles' situation.
00:25:31
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, that's coming up. That's on the list. But yeah. Yeah. It's what it is. Okay, mate. I'm going to chuck one more at you before we wrap up for today and move on to the rest in part three.
00:25:50
DailySaintsPod
I think quite an easy one for me, at least. It'll be interesting to see if you agree. Finna Zazz.
00:25:59
Zak
I think we should we should keep him. i think that he's had unnecessary criticism considering he's like a joint top goal scorer. And I say unnecessary criticism from us.
00:26:08
Zak
I think i think you hit the nail on the head for me where because of when he has flashes of brilliance, when he doesn't, it's far more noticeable.
00:26:15
Zak
Whereas I think there are other players in our team that sometimes can coast their way through games a little bit. and I think that you know he is quietly humble. Some of the interviews with him sort of doing charity stuff behind the scenes and having those kind of conversations and not really making a big song and dance about it. I think that you also pointed out from like a personality perspective he can be quite stoic and I think where you've got a a Leo who's very out there, very fantastic. I still think Leo's very, very humble guy and know is is very, I just think that he has that type of personality, whereas I think Luzas is quite reserved. When it comes to having a player on the pitch that plays in that role, what who else would we get?
00:26:57
Zak
We spent a big sum of money on him, we should keep him.
00:26:57
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, I absolutely agree. I think he's keep. I think that he is a a really key player. And I think that actually, despite it, like, it's easy to see it as hot and cold or, oh, Zaza's really struggled to get in this game. but actually, i think some of the time... What he looks to do in a game really is like on the line, and which means that sometimes that goes badly.
00:27:22
DailySaintsPod
right like but But it's because he's trying to find the that that line. that is Because when it goes good, it's really good. And that's why his assists and his goal contributions are are as high as they are.
00:27:36
DailySaintsPod
Because it's it's not so much hot and cold. It's like, well, these margins are really fine, but because they're fine, sometimes it looks awful. And I think that's okay. There's a place for that.
00:27:47
DailySaintsPod
But yeah, I agree. I think that he he's been essential for us. Absolutely keep. One of the... I think four players for me that I would be like targeting, keeping to build the entire squad around those four players. And he's one of them for sure.
00:28:09
Zak
No, I think the only thing that could maybe change that is the the elephant in the room that still we're not hearing anything of is if there's a managerial change.
00:28:19
Zak
Notice the fact that i said if there, because I'm starting to think that the amount of time that's going on, maybe it's because of the FA investigation. Maybe it's that people are starting to get over everything that's happened, at least to an extent.
00:28:32
Zak
you know The Tonda in or out debate is continuing to rage on. And I think...
00:28:37
DailySaintsPod
Well, the fact that it's a debate for me shows that the at least some level of getting over it's occurred. But look, it it'll be what it'll be.
00:28:46
DailySaintsPod
I mean, anything at this point is purely speculation because, as again, we have heard nothing from the club.
00:28:53
Zak
But my point is, if we're keeping players...
00:28:54
DailySaintsPod
Absolutely nothing. Apart from... Yeah. a plot
00:28:58
Zak
Are they going to play? right What I don't want to do is have the situation when Juric came in and decided he was going to play specific players he liked that ignored everyone else.
00:29:07
Zak
And what we end up doing is a lot of people are going through and keep if all of a sudden they decide to change the system. Like, for example, just remove the number 10 role. It's different conversation. But we're basing this on what we believe.
00:29:21
DailySaintsPod
I don't even if they do replace the manager uh I think that there's going to be a lot of lessons learned about how much you want to change style based off of what we tried to do previously and it not work so i don't know it will be interesting but but look that's it's all speculation who who knows uh it's it's not related to take that so the club isn't interested in putting a statement out on it mate uh
00:29:44
Zak
I need to apologise to you because I mugged you off for the fact that you kept saying McFly, and then the other day realised McFly also playing at St Mary's.

DailySaintsPod
Yeah, yeah, I know they're both there. I just got which band it was that are playing at St Mary's Rock.
00:29:59
Zak
I didn't realise, so I just thought you'd just gone absolutely mad and got your boy bands confused.
00:30:04
Zak
Like, that's a thing we care about anyway.
00:30:04
DailySaintsPod
I mean, indeed, look,
00:30:08
DailySaintsPod
Anyway, that feels like a good place to wrap it up. Speaking of take that, please stop holding back to the flood. Anything to get rid of this heat would do. We will be back with part three of the Keeps El Bench where we finish off the rest of the squad.
