We break down the Belmont late Pick 5 race by race, from a wide-open Race 7 allowance on the dirt through the Vosburgh, the Turf Classic, and a closing Race 11 with Catherine Marissa on top. Along the way we debate whether old Belmont records still matter on the new surface, work through Wrighton as the key opinion in Race 8, single Fort George in a paceless Turf Classic, and talk ticket construction for exactas, trifectas, doubles, and pick threes when you're singling a fair-priced horse. Full ticket strategy, weather notes, and closing thoughts included.

Jackson Muniz joins the show to break down Saturday's Late Pick 5 at Belmont at the Big A. We open with excitement about Belmont's reopening and get to know Jackson — his background in horse racing and how he landed at NYRA — before settling the age-old question: Del Mar or Saratoga? Then it's down to business, handicapping Races 6 through 10 one at a time: a maiden turf opener where we're skeptical of the favorite, opposing Special Ops in Race 7 by narrowing to the pace players, taking a stand against Chief Wallaby in Race 8, a spread-play breakdown of the Floral Park with vulnerable favorites, and value hunting in the Race 10 finale. We close with Pick 5 ticket construction, bankroll philosophy, and a sign-off.

We open with a weekend recap from Timonium and why Maryland's storied meet needs support to survive, then shift gears with some Kentucky Downs thoughts and show housekeeping before diving into the main event: a full Saratoga Pick 5 breakdown. We work through the Race 8 juvenile turf maidens, the Race 9 turf sprint led by Brightline Bullet, a value hunt in the Race 10 dirt allowance, a Spinaway Stakes preview with Summer Starlet as our key opinion, and the Race 12 turf claimer debate between Ori, Griselda, and Sweet Duchess. We close with ticket construction strategy for the sequence and a final Saratoga send-off.

NYRA Bets educator Matthew DeSantis joins the show for a deep dive into Travers Day at Saratoga. We break down the late Pick 5 race by race — the Lake Placid (Queen of Hawaii vs. Naomas), the Forego (taking a stand against Book'em Danno and questioning Senior Officer without Lasix), the Ballerina (pace chaos behind Ways and Means and Eclatant, with Kilwin as a spread play), the wide-open Travers itself with pedigree and value angles, and the Race 14 finale where we debate singling the 6-5 favorite versus fading the chalk. Plus Matthew's path from college professor to NYRA Bets, wagering philosophy, and ticket construction tips to close it out.

We open with the Marshall Graham data-access scandal and what it says about fairness in horse racing — CAW teams, insider information, and the leadership vacuum eroding trust with regular bettors. From there we pivot to brighter news: Gary's Timonium announcement, why the quirky fair meet matters, and what he'll be doing on the live stream. Then it's a full Saratoga Pick 5 breakdown: pace and value in Race 8, whether to single Stimulate in Race 9, handicapping Segesta in the Ballston Spa, the Alabama Stakes, and why Stand the Rain is our strongest opinion in the finale. We close with bet construction and bankroll discipline for the weekend.

Saratoga Late Pick 5 for Saturday, August 22nd

We open with the online chatter surrounding recent Fair Hill winners before pivoting to a full Saratoga Pick 5 breakdown. Race 8 kicks things off with a tricky 2-year-old maiden sprint, then Race 9's Christophe Clement Turf pits Minaret Station against the European contenders. In Race 10's Galway Stakes we make the case for Triskelion, Race 11 zeroes in on Dinner Royale in the New York-bred starter allowance, and Race 12 closes with a wide-open state-bred maiden claimer. Bets, opinions, and a sign-off.
