Back with another episode here to help you close more deals, generate more leads and more referrals and dominate in the solar industry. Hope you're doing well today. We've got a little bit different episode and I'm going to go through a program that I just completed. Um, actually at the time of this recording, I have two more days left. Okay. But I am planning on completing it, I guess, a Dane a quarter. So that program, if you've been listening to the previous episodes, I brought it up a few times already and it's something that I highly recommend. So I'm going to tell you my experience with it, my hesitations going into it, um, actually thought about doing for doing it for probably over a year now, but finally got around to doing it. So I'm telling my hesitations in experience and what I overall just gained from going through it.

Speaker 2 (01:44):

Okay. So that program I'm going to talk about is called 75 Hard. And a lot of you have probably heard of it. It is pretty popular and a lot of people post about on Tik TOK, social media, a lot of people have gotten great results with it. Um, you know, sales guys at helps a lot of different benefits, so I'm going to jump into it. Okay. So first of all, I heard about this program from a few friends, her, I guess, coworkers, people that I have sold with for awhile. Um, some of the guys that first got me in the industry actually told me about it. My first buddy that did hit his name is Dallin. He's actually been on the show Dallin Pancheri, probably about 50 episodes ago. You can go back and listen to him, but he told me about this program.

Speaker 2 (02:30):

He went through it and what it is, if you're not familiar with it is for 75 days straight, you have to follow a checklist of specific items. And if you miss even one thing on this checklist, you go back to day zero. So the things you have to follow is you have to do two workouts a day. They have to be 45 minutes. Each you have to take a progress picture. You have to read 10 pages, you have to drink a gallon of water. You have to follow a specific diet you can't have any cheat meals or alcohol. So that's the program. And honestly sounds, I mean, somewhat simple, probably a lot of you are doing these things already. So I'm thinking of, okay, workout, um, read a few pages, drink some water. It doesn't sound like that. I can be away now, but the key with all this, and I found this out pretty quickly, it's that you have to be ultra consistent.

Speaker 2 (03:24):

Like I said, if you miss even one thing on there, you're going back to D zero. Right? So that's the key with it. And then the other thing is you can make it as strict or as easy as you want. Okay. I mean, obviously I'm more applying do the workouts and the diets. Okay. Cause he doesn't specify what type of workouts you have to do. He doesn't specify which diet you have to follow. So when I first heard about this program, my friend, Dallin, he did a diet where he didn't eat any sugar for 75 days. Okay. And by no sugar, I mean, he, even if it had a gram of sugar, he's not eating it. His, so you look at most things have sugar in them right. Right. Um, so yeah, I mean any food label, not even a gram of sugar, he's like, no, not e

00:00:08
Speaker
My name is Taylor Armstrong.
00:00:10
Speaker
I went from $50 in my bank account and struggling for groceries to closing 150 deals in a year and cracking the code on why sales reps fell.
00:00:19
Speaker
I teach you how to avoid the mistakes I made and bring in the top solar dogs of the industry to let you in on the secrets of generating more leads, falling up like a pro, and closing more deals.

What is a Solarpreneur?

00:00:31
Speaker
What is a Solarpreneur you might ask?
00:00:33

A Solarpreneur is a new breed of Solar Pro that is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve mastery and you are about to become one.
00:00:42
Speaker
What's up, solarpreneurs?
00:00:43

Taylor Armstrong back with another episode here to help you close more deals, generate more leads, and more referrals, and dominate in the solar industry.

Introduction to the 75 Hard Program

00:00:54
Speaker
Hope you're doing well.
00:00:55
Speaker
Today, we've got a little bit different episode, and I'm going to go through a program that I just completed.
00:01:04
Speaker
Actually, at the time of this recording, I have two more days left, but I am planning on completing it.
00:01:10
Speaker
I guess a day and a quarter.
00:01:13
Speaker
So that program, if you've been listening to the previous episodes, I brought it up a few times already.
00:01:20
Speaker
And it's something that I highly recommend.
00:01:22
Speaker
I'm going to tell you my experience with it, my hesitations going into it.
00:01:29
Speaker
I actually thought about doing it for probably over a year now, but finally got around to doing it.
00:01:36
Speaker
I'm going to tell you my hesitations and experience and what I overall just gained from going through it.
00:01:44
Speaker
That program I'm going to talk about is called 75 Hard.
00:01:48
Speaker
A lot of you have probably heard of it.
00:01:50
Speaker
It is pretty popular and a lot of people post about it on TikTok, social media.
00:01:56
Speaker
A lot of people have gotten great results with it.
00:02:00
Speaker
You know, sales guys, it helps, a lot of different benefits.
00:02:04
Speaker
So I'm going to jump into it.
00:02:05
Speaker
Okay, so first of all, I heard about this program from a few friends, or I guess co-workers, people that I have sold with for a while.
00:02:15
Speaker
Some of the guys that first got me in the industry actually told me about it.
00:02:19
Speaker
My first buddy that did it, his name is Dallin.
00:02:22
Speaker
He's actually been on the show, Dallin Pancari, probably about 50 episodes ago.
00:02:26
Speaker
You can go back and listen to him.
00:02:29
Speaker
But he told me about this program.
00:02:30
Speaker
He went through it.
00:02:32
Speaker
And what it is, if you're not familiar with it, is for 75 days straight, you have to follow a checklist of specific items.
00:02:41
Speaker
And if you miss even one thing on this checklist, you go back to day zero.
00:02:46
Speaker
So the things you have to follow is you have to do two workouts a day.
00:02:49
Speaker
They have to be 45 minutes each.
00:02:52
Speaker
You have to take a progress picture.
00:02:54
Speaker
You have to read 10 pages.
00:02:55
Speaker
You have to drink a gallon of water.
00:02:57
Speaker
You have to follow a specific diet.
00:02:59
Speaker
And you can't have any cheat meals or alcohol.
00:03:02
Speaker
So that's the program.
00:03:04
Speaker
And honestly, it sounds...
00:03:06
Speaker
I mean, somewhat simple.
00:03:08
Speaker
Probably a lot of you are doing these things already.
00:03:10
Speaker
So I'm thinking, okay, work out, read a few pages, drink some water.
00:03:16
Speaker
Doesn't sound like that, baby, no.
00:03:19
Speaker
But the key with all this, and I found this out pretty quickly, it's that you have to be ultra consistent.
00:03:25
Speaker
Like I said, if you miss even one thing on there, you're going back to day zero.

Adapting 75 Hard to Personal Life

00:03:30
Speaker
So that's the key with it.
00:03:31
Speaker
And then the other thing is you can make it as strict or as easy, really as you want.
00:03:37
Speaker
I mean, obviously, more applying to the workouts and the diet.
00:03:44
Speaker
Because he doesn't specify what type of workouts you have to do.
00:03:47
Speaker
He doesn't specify which diet you have to follow.
00:03:51
Speaker
So when I first heard about this program, my friend, Dallin, he did a diet where he didn't eat any sugar for 75 days.
00:04:00
Speaker
Okay, and by no sugar, I mean he, even if it had a gram of sugar, he's not eating it.
00:04:07
Speaker
Okay, so you look at most things have sugar in them, right?
00:04:14
Speaker
So, yeah, I mean, any food label, if Pat eaten a gram of sugar, he's like, no, not eating it.
00:04:18
Speaker
So it got super annoying.
00:04:20
Speaker
We'd be hanging out with Dallin and, you know, going out on a Saturday night, getting some food.
00:04:26
Speaker
Or he'd be like, no, can't go here.
00:04:28
Speaker
Everything has sugar in it.
00:04:31
Speaker
You know, any meal we made him, we'd invite him over for dinners, for food and stuff like that.
00:04:36
Speaker
He'd be like, nope, can't eat that.
00:04:38
Speaker
Would have a teaspoon of ketchup in it, had some sugar.
00:04:40
Speaker
He'd turn it down.
00:04:42
Speaker
So when I first saw him go through this, I'm like, man, what a drag.
00:04:46
Speaker
I'm not gonna do that.
00:04:48
Speaker
So that was one of my, I guess, reasons for being hesitant.
00:04:52
Speaker
He took this thing to an extreme and this kid tortured himself.
00:04:56
Speaker
He got great results.
00:04:57
Speaker
He lost a ton of weight, which, yeah, more power to him.
00:05:01
Speaker
So you can take it, like I said, as strict or as easy as you want.
00:05:06
Speaker
He took it strict.
00:05:08
Speaker
So when I got around to finally doing this challenge, I learned the rules a little bit better.
00:05:15
Speaker
So that was one of my reasons for not wanting to do it initially is, oh my God, I'm not going to torture myself like that.
00:05:23
Speaker
Maybe the other thing is with the workouts, you have to do them twice a day every day, right?
00:05:29
Speaker
So no breaks, no weekends of rest.
00:05:33
Speaker
You have to do it every single day.
00:05:35
Speaker
And for me, I go, you know, I'm going to church every Sunday.
00:05:39
Speaker
I try to take Sundays off, just relax, hang out with family, go to church, you know, keep the Sabbath day holy.
00:05:47
Speaker
Like they teach us at church, which for me means no like intense workouts or anything.
00:05:52
Speaker
So that was another one of my excuses, another one of my reasons.
00:05:55
Speaker
I'm like, I can't do this.
00:05:58
Speaker
I'm not going to go to the gym on Sunday to do a hard workout.
00:06:02
Speaker
But then as I learned more, again, you can make this as easy or as hard as you want.
00:06:07
Speaker
So here's what I did.

Partner Support and Benefits

00:06:09
Speaker
I would work out hard almost every day, but Sundays I would just do walks typically, or we'd go play disc golf.
00:06:19
Speaker
We like the Frisbee golf out here in San Diego.
00:06:22
Speaker
If you ever hear, hit me up.
00:06:24
Speaker
I'll take you to go play some disc golf.
00:06:26
Speaker
That's what we did.
00:06:27
Speaker
So we went on our walks, and we adjusted it that way.
00:06:32
Speaker
When I say we, I did it with my wife, which was a cool, definitely a cool experience.
00:06:38
Speaker
So I would suggest doing it with someone.
00:06:40
Speaker
If you want to jump into this program, definitely makes it easier to keep yourself accountable and yeah, have more fun.
00:06:49
Speaker
You're spending time with someone.
00:06:50
Speaker
For us, we actually spent way more time together because we're doing a lot of these workouts and drinking water.
00:06:56
Speaker
We felt the same pains.
00:06:59
Speaker
Okay, so anyways, enough about the program.
00:07:01
Speaker
I want to go over just a few benefits, things that I experienced as I went through all this entire program.
00:07:08
Speaker
Okay, so number one, before I started 75 Hard, and I still struggle with this,
00:07:18
Speaker
But I was what Andy Frisella, the creator of this program, 75 Hard, he refers to this type of person as a success zombie.
00:07:28
Speaker
So what a success zombie is, it's someone that goes to all these seminars, buys the books, buys all the coaching programs, buys
00:07:38
Speaker
you know invest in himself but doesn't actually apply anything they're doing so we've all seen these people you go to Tony Robbins seminars you see people that just show up at the same events but they're not really making progress these people are success zombies and that was me to a T still is to a degree I'm trying to improve on this
00:08:02
Speaker
But you don't want to be a success zombie.
00:08:04
Speaker
You want to invest in yourself, but you want to be really making sure your investments are helping you improve and applying the principles you're learning.
00:08:14
Speaker
So what I like about 75 Hard is it's black and white.
00:08:18
Speaker
You either do it or you don't.
00:08:21
Speaker
And the program doesn't cost anything.
00:08:23
Speaker
I mean, he has an app you can download.
00:08:24
Speaker
He has a book, which we bought all those things.
00:08:27
Speaker
They're cheap and helps you be more committed with it.
00:08:31
Speaker
But the point of all this is, it's to help you actually apply what you learn in the program.
00:08:35
Speaker
So to apply, to be a doer, not just the talk, but actually do the things.
00:08:41
Speaker
Because guess what?
00:08:42
Speaker
If you don't do the things, you're going back to day zero.
00:08:45
Speaker
So this was one of the biggest benefits that I experienced, is I'm like, okay, there's no middle ground here.
00:08:52
Speaker
You either do it or you don't.
00:08:55
Speaker
And I would get to the weekends.
00:08:56
Speaker
Like I was mentioning, weekends, a lot of times I would take breaks from workouts.
00:09:03
Speaker
I would always do workouts before 75 hard, but weekends were my relaxing time, right?
00:09:08
Speaker
Same thing with all these other items.
00:09:11
Speaker
I was reading books most days.
00:09:15
Speaker
I was drinking water.
00:09:16
Speaker
I was following a diet.
00:09:17
Speaker
But weekend hit, all those things go out the window.
00:09:20
Speaker
I would never read on weekends.
00:09:24
Speaker
I would sleep in super late.
00:09:27
Speaker
Well, at least Sundays, Saturdays I'd go out and sell.
00:09:31
Speaker
But yeah, no way was I reading.
00:09:32
Speaker
No way was I worrying about eating clean.
00:09:35
Speaker
No way was I worried about reading a book.
00:09:39
Speaker
Because Saturdays, weekends...
00:09:41
Speaker
You know, I wasn't thinking about those things.
00:09:44
Speaker
So the program forced me to actually think, okay, I need to make improvements even on a weekend.
00:09:49
Speaker
Okay, just because it's a weekend, I don't need to let everything go out the window.
00:09:54
Speaker
So it's another cool thing I experienced.
00:09:55
Speaker
And as I've gone through this, just those two, three extra days where I'm doing the things that I didn't normally do them,
00:10:05
Speaker
I, yeah, it was pretty cool to see the changes.
00:10:09
Speaker
I mean, just from reading a book every day, or sorry, 10 pages every day, I got through, I think, five different books, which that's, yeah, that was crazy to me.
00:10:21
Speaker
Like, and it didn't feel like a large amount.
00:10:23
Speaker
I mean, I would read about 10 minutes a day is how long it took me to read 10 pages.
00:10:27
Speaker
So it wasn't long.
00:10:29
Speaker
But just adding in the weekends reading where I never was, I got through, I flew through books.
00:10:35
Speaker
And it's just those little changes.
00:10:37
Speaker
If you've read the compound effect or the book, The Slight Edge, it talks about this.
00:10:42
Speaker
These little compound effects, these things you're doing, they're the things that are going to skyrocket you to success to the next level.
00:10:52
Speaker
So that's the point of all this, and that's a huge benefit that I experience.
00:10:56
Speaker
It forced me to do those little things even on weekends or even on days.
00:11:00
Speaker
where I wasn't used to doing them.
00:11:01
Speaker
And we took a few little mini vacations in the past 75 days.
00:11:07
Speaker
But yeah, even in these vacations, we went up north to Sequoia National Park.
00:11:11
Speaker
Okay, it was like, I think 10 o'clock at night when we pulled into the Airbnb we rented.
00:11:17
Speaker
We're with my wife's family.
00:11:19
Speaker
Guess what?
00:11:20
Speaker
We still had a workout to do.
00:11:22
Speaker
So we're up in this tiny town, feels like we're going to get murdered out there.
00:11:27
Speaker
And we're out there walking and jogging on these streets out in the middle of nowhere.
00:11:32
Speaker
We had to get it done.
00:11:33
Speaker
And same thing, Saturday nights, had a few late selling weekends, got home, people were, you know, usually we get together with some friends, things like that.
00:11:42
Speaker
And I'm like, nope, got to do a workout.
00:11:45
Speaker
Luckily here in San Diego, weather's good.
00:11:49
Speaker
So I didn't probably take it to the extreme like some people.
00:11:52
Speaker
If you're doing this up in Alaska or, I don't know, northern Idaho or something, you got my respect.
00:11:58
Speaker
Montana, it's probably freezing if you're doing this, especially in the winter.
00:12:03
Speaker
So we took it easy with the weather.
00:12:05
Speaker
We got spoiled with the weather.
00:12:08
Speaker
Okay, that's the first thing.
00:12:09
Speaker
That's the first big thing.
00:12:10
Speaker
Just made me make and keep my commitments to myself.
00:12:14
Speaker
Okay, so that's what you're going to experience if you choose to go through 75 hard.
00:12:19
Speaker
Number two, it gave me confidence.
00:12:22
Speaker
And anyone will say this that's gone through the program.
00:12:24
Speaker
You feel great while you're doing it.
00:12:26
Speaker
Okay, you're following a diet.
00:12:29
Speaker
For me, my diet wasn't super strict.
00:12:31
Speaker
I was just cutting out the desserts and I was cutting out fried foods.
00:12:35
Speaker
So I'll admit I could have been probably a little better with the diet.
00:12:38
Speaker
I did lose 20 pounds.
00:12:39
Speaker
So happy with that.
00:12:41
Speaker
Was definitely getting my dad body on a whole bit heavy.
00:12:45
Speaker
But it did give me awesome confidence to see the weight dropping off, making and keeping the commitments to myself, waking up earlier, scheduling my time better.
00:12:56
Speaker
You feel great.
00:12:58
Speaker
And what I realize is that those little things, they have a direct correlation with what you're doing on the doors.
00:13:05
Speaker
You should know by now, if you're out knocking doors, if you're out selling, your results are heavily correlated with what's going on in your personal life.
00:13:13
Speaker
That's why it's so important to take care of your body, to be drinking water, to be doing these little things, because it's going to show

Impact on Sales and Personal Growth

00:13:21
Speaker
up in your cells.
00:13:21
Speaker
Okay, and my cells definitely improved.
00:13:24
Speaker
I didn't work harder, but just by doing these things, I definitely got more cells than I was doing.
00:13:30
Speaker
Okay, I was closing, you know, a lot of
00:13:37
Speaker
A lot of referrals, a lot of leads.
00:13:41
Speaker
We have kind of a setter program, get some leads from online, things like that.
00:13:48
Speaker
But during 75 Hard this past month, I was happy to close, let's see, I think it's been eight deals now just from knocking doors, which for me, that was awesome.
00:14:00
Speaker
I don't know if some of our heavy hitters, you're out there, you're closing, pure self-gens out there.
00:14:06
Speaker
And for you, that might be an average month, but for me, eight deals for my own knocking hour in San Diego.
00:14:12
Speaker
I was pretty happy with that.
00:14:13
Speaker
Okay, and I guess still got a few more days left in the month, but felt great.
00:14:19
Speaker
Confidence was at an all-time high because I was making and keeping commitments to myself.
00:14:24
Speaker
And then the last benefit that I experienced is it made me be more efficient with my time.
00:14:31
Speaker
There's a law, if you haven't heard of this, it's the Parkinson's Law.
00:14:35
Speaker
Well, Parkinson's Law is that your work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.
00:14:45
Speaker
So in other words, you're going to get work done in the amount of time you have.
00:14:51
Speaker
So for me, that just meant I have less time now.
00:14:54
Speaker
I'm doing two separate workouts.
00:14:56
Speaker
That's the other thing.
00:14:57
Speaker
In 75 hard, you have to do two separate 45-minute workouts.
00:15:00
Speaker
You can't do one 90-minute workout.
00:15:03
Speaker
You have to do one workout, and then you have to wait at least three hours before you do a second workout.
00:15:09
Speaker
So that meant either I was getting up really early and then doing two workouts in the morning,
00:15:16
Speaker
for me since I usually get up like 730 which isn't super early another thing I'm trying to improve for me that meant I did a workout in the morning and then usually a workout at night okay so what I what I had to do is just be way more efficient with my time and again I wasn't working harder I was closing more deals I was having more success out there but it's because of this I was forced to be more efficient with my time and
00:15:45
Speaker
And now in the five or six hours that I was out there producing, generating leads, knocking doors in deals, I was using my time more efficiently.
00:15:55
Speaker
I'm like, all right, I got to do another workout.
00:15:58
Speaker
I don't have as much time.
00:15:59
Speaker
I got to be reading my, you know, 10 pages, doing these extra couple of things.
00:16:05
Speaker
And so I need to be ultra efficient with my time.
00:16:09
Speaker
And that's another thing that I saw a huge benefit from.
00:16:13
Speaker
Before I would go out and I was working, but yeah, sometimes social media would creep in.
00:16:20
Speaker
Sometimes I would let myself, oh, I'm just going to
00:16:26
Speaker
Maybe call some people, then I'll be out on the doors in like 30 minutes.
00:16:31
Speaker
I'm going to call some referrals.
00:16:32
Speaker
I'm going to just check on my other accounts.
00:16:35
Speaker
No.
00:16:35
Speaker
So what I did is I set a strict schedule for myself.
00:16:39
Speaker
I said, okay, once the clock hits two, I'm either knocking a door or I'm going to be in a deal for sure.
00:16:45
Speaker
I can do the follow-ups.
00:16:47
Speaker
I can do the account management another time.
00:16:50
Speaker
Once the clock strikes two, I've got to be out there generating leads or making myself money closing a deal.
00:16:59
Speaker
So that's a few of the benefits.
00:17:01
Speaker
I experienced it.
00:17:02
Speaker
Again, I highly recommend it.
00:17:03
Speaker
Go do 75RD if you haven't.
00:17:06
Speaker
And I'll post, follow me on social media.
00:17:08
Speaker
I'm going to post my before-after pictures.
00:17:11
Speaker
Okay, don't be expecting a six pack or anything, but lost 20 pounds, feel great.
00:17:18
Speaker
I'm hoping I can carry this momentum into the future because that's the point of this is 75 hard.
00:17:26
Speaker
You keep that momentum going.
00:17:27
Speaker
Okay, so for me, I'm not going to do two separate workouts anymore.
00:17:30
Speaker
That's the one thing that I didn't.
00:17:32
Speaker
want to continue so now I'm gonna do my workouts but just maybe do a longer maybe do an hour to an hour and a half workouts keep it in one little chunk but beside that awesome program so go try it out and would love to see your results if you decide to try it or if you've already gone through it some year before and after love to check those out
00:17:58
Speaker
And a little bit different episode, but hope you took something from it.
00:18:02
Speaker
If anything, start to be consistent in whatever you're doing.
00:18:06
Speaker
Even if you don't do a program like 75 Hard, give yourself a checklist and see how many days you can do those things.
00:18:13
Speaker
See if you can continue them even on weekends, because for me, that was what made a big difference, is being consistent with some little things.
00:18:21
Speaker
So go out and try it.
00:18:22
Speaker
Love to hear from you, and we'll see you on the next show.
