I just couldn't be bothered. Sheer laziness got the best of me today and i was just like, I don't want to do it. You know, coming up with the topic, drawing on the last couple of weeks of personal things that have happened to me, being vulnerable, planning out the episode, printing the notes, getting the camera ready, the microphone ready.

My editor is away at the moment, which means I have to edit it myself. And I was so focused on the sheer effort that this would take to do the podcast that I was talking myself out of it.

Now, I encourage my community all the time that if something feels forced to absolutely take a step back and not do it. Forceful energy is not the energy that we want to be embodying.

However, for me in, in this case, it was, i was just being lazy. And what encouraged me to actually do this podcast episode in the end was a quote that my mom shared on her Instagram story.

Gabby Bernstein shared it and it said, the universe mirrors your energy, not your effort. And I had a bit of light bulb moment because I was like, I was so focused on the effort, the effort it was going to take me to do this.

But the universe responds to energy, not effort. And I do stand by what I said. if they If you are at a point in your life where you are flogging a dead horse, where you are trying to hustle and grind and be so damn productive, but your mind is you know feeling empty or foggy, your body is kind of giving up on you, you need a break from exercise or work or socializing,

and your body and your mind and your soul is telling yourself that, then yes, rest can be very productive. Sometimes you do need to take take a step back. I love the card that I actually pull quite a lot from my positive guidance deck, which is stop, rest and reassess.

You know the people that seem to manifest really easily where you're not judging or you're not jealous, but you kind of look at them and you're like, it kind of seems to be landing on your lap.

And I've actually had people say this to me before. And it's really hurt my feelings um where people have said, things just seem to work out for you. Things just seem to land on your lap.

Things just seem to happen. You are so lucky. And I've said it on my podcast before, but for me, that actually really upsets me. So I definitely don't encourage you to ever say that to anyone because everyone works hard in their own way to get what it is that they want.

However, the lesson here is the people that we perceive to have everything, to get everything easily, to seem to be, to seem to be, so who seem to be, you know, going on beautiful holidays, manifesting beautiful job after beautiful job, ah connecting with incredible high profile people, ah whatever it is that you are seeing, observing other people getting easily, it is because their energy is attracting it.

And you might be looking at them going, but they don't seem to be working very hard. They don't seem to be putting in much effort. And that is exactly the key. You don't have to.

One of my favorite quotes, and it will be my favorite quote probably forever, is we can do less and attract more. It's not really a quote. It's just like a lesson to live by. The exciting thing about all of this is it's not woo-woo. It's not magic. It's not too good to be true. There is so much science that backs energetics and what your energy can bring into your physical reality.

But what I realize is that my energy, how my energy is today is actually enough. And the sign, right? So I was driving home from this girl's catch up and I was like, oh, I kind of promised myself I wouldn't make any big purchases because it's like a bit of a weird time in business at the moment. I didn't want to spend any more money.

has the biggest bat poo from the top of the back all the way down to the bottom of the back. And I was like, oh, that's gross. Like, whatever. It'll wash out. No. Bat poo apparently does not wash out. I could crack the nightie in half. And if you are a Bridesmaids fan, the movie, you know the quote I'm referring to now. Not in the same way that they refer to it. But I could crack that nightie in half.

But it was bat poo. ah So I washed it and I washed it and I scrubbed it and it literally like it's so hard it won't come off. So there was my sign. I no longer have a pass around the smile nightie at all. I was so sad to like, cause I wanted to keep that forever.

But let's get into this

Society's Pressure on Productivity

episode. So I want to start with this. Effort is not your power, your energy is We get sucked in by social media, by society who says, go, go, go, hustle, girl boss, be productive every day, work hard, exercise, be social, do your meditations, eat healthy, or do all the things basically. And what it does, it creates so much pressure and it gets us stuck in this cycle and this wheel of go, go, go.

But we do not have to force. We do not have to push. And what happens when we allow, when we go with the flow, when we surrender, when we trust the process, we actually do all those things without even trying.

And we put our energy to the things that mean the most to us, that are in alignment with our values and beliefs, naturally without even thinking, because we are just...

taking it as it comes. One week you might feel like being really social. So you see this friend and that friend. And then the next week you might be all socialed out and it just feels normal and right to just say in a text, sorry, don't have the capacity right now.

I'll message you next week. And it feels normal and nice. And the reason why you are able to do that is because you are listening to yourself. You're You are in alignment with what you need in that moment.

And you are trusting that your decisions are backed with the right energy and intention for you in that moment. When we go against what our body, our mind, our soul is saying, and we're catching up with that friend because we feel like we have to and we don't want to disappoint them. We're working extra late every night this week because we really want to impress our boss.

ah We are... not charging enough for our worth because we really desperately want the job. These are all telltale signs that you are not in ah in alignment and your self-worth is suffering as a result.

When your self-worth is suffering as a result, your energy is not only out of alignment, but you are vibrating low When our energy is vibrating low, we make decisions that aren't in alignment with what we want, with our dreams, with our desires.

We act out of desperation and fear instead of flow and trust and faith. Our trust and our faith has to be stronger than our fears and our confusion.

The exciting thing is, is we can change. Acknowledge our fears, let them go and move on Leaning into the trust and the faith that we are supported and guided by ourselves because we are powerful, but also by our higher powers. So whoever or whatever you believe in.

So you do not have to sit at a high vibration all of the time. And we don't have to give in to what society says, as I mentioned before. We don't have to be go, go, go, grabbing for the next big thing, the next big thing, comparing ourselves on social media, diminishing our own successes because we open social media or we watch the news and we see what other people are achieving. And all of a sudden, because they achieved that, our achievements feel so small and so insignificant.

No, we don't have to give in to that because all we need to do is focus on our own path, stay in our own lane and not look next to us, allowing that energy to diminish.

But what I wanted to say is like, what comes with all of that pressure is this pressure to be a hundred percent positive all of the time. And if you are a Pass Around the Smile community member, you know that I'm a big advocate for allowing yourself to cry, to be angry, to go through what you need to go through.

We can't be 100% positive all the time. And we can't allow that pressure to sit on our shoulders constantly To be happy, to be the friend that's always there, to be the co-worker who is helpful to everyone and the best for, you know, you know in the boss's eyes.

We cannot always be that person and no one else is expecting you to be that person. It's you putting the pressure on yourself. In turn, your energy is low.

You are giving too much energy out because It's coming out as effort. Your energy is turning into effort because it's forced. You're controlling where your energy is going because you think I should do this, I should do that because that's what is expected of me.

Yes, we cannot be vibrating super high all the time and that is absolutely okay. But let's talk about energy versus effort because I think that's where we kind of get a little bit lost sometimes where we think we have to put so much effort into something like me today with this this podcast. i was like, it's just going to take so much effort. I have to put so much effort into making this good so my people like it.

Whereas... What I should have done is just trust that my energy is enough. I don't need to put in effort when my energy is aligned. You can still feel low, be resting and manifest because it's about the belief and the energy behind what it is that you want.

That's what it's about. You can still be a powerful attractor, even in stillness. There's a difference between vibrating really low and being still.

Because being still is actually a beautiful, peaceful state to be in. Just because you aren't moving forward right now doesn't mean that you are vibrating low. When you are vibrating low, it's very obvious. You feel down. You are stuck in comparison. You are judging yourself. You're judging others you are feeling jealous you ah might have physical symptoms like anxiety or feeling sick in your tummy or tension headaches.

That's when you're vibrating really, really low. And that's when you do need to make an effort to get out of that vibration so you can raise yourself back up. Again, there's no pressure to go from zero to a hundred. Just raise yourself a little bit by a little bit. By the way, guys, it's pouring outside. i don't know if you can hear it in the microphone. Hopefully you can't.

So let's talk about the difference between energy and effort because I think that's where it gets a little bit murky and a little bit confusing. energy feels magnetic, effort feels forceful.

That's how you can tell the difference. And that's how you will know if when you are manifesting, if it is in alignment with your values and beliefs, and if it is something that is actually meant for you, or is it something that you're kind of asking or working toward because society says that you should, or because you just feel like, oh that person expects it of me, so I'll do it or whatever.

This really helps you kind of differentiate the two. So energy versus effort. Energy feels magnetic, effort feels forced. Not every single thing that I talk about when it comes to the steps in the law of attraction, like energy,

Surrendering, asking in the right way, journaling, meditating, you know the um all the different laws like the law of assumption and the law of divine oneness, they don't all have to work. You don't have to do them all to attract what it is that you want to attract.

It's not a game. The universe isn't waiting for you to fail or to do everything particularly perfectly right. The universe is made up of energy.

At the end of the day, energy creates energy. That's all there is to it. So yes, you can be feeling low and still manifest. Of course, it's going to be benefit you more if you are vibrating at a high level, but I don't want you to feel disheartened when you are feeling low.

But where's your energy? So let's say if you're feeling low because you're sick, that doesn't mean that you're not going to manifest, let's say the dream house that you're in the process of putting an offer in on.

Not at all. Because your energy may completely believe that that house is yours. You can see your family in it. You have the strongest belief that, you know, that your offer is going to get accepted

Personal Experiences with Energy Alignment

and you're going to move in. Then great. Amazing.

Your energy is magnetic. You don't need, if you're sick, in this example, to put in effort because your energy will overtake that effort. The energy is magnetic, the effort is forceful.

Doing anything that feels forceful doesn't allow you to surrender. I've chatted about this quite a few times, but when I was pregnant and I was really sick, I was so stressed about my business. I thought my business was doomed. I thought pass around the smile was going to be no longer because I was too sick to work.

And for a couple of weeks, that was my reality. My energy was so low. My energy was stuck in lack and in fear. And I was thinking about all of the things that could go wrong, all of the things that were going to tumble down because I couldn't work in the business.

When I realized two weeks later that that was essentially coming true because that was my belief, I knew I had to make a change. But I knew the change couldn't be in my effort because I was too sick to put in any effort.

So what I did is I changed my energy and my belief. And when I tell you the next three months in my business was the best three months maybe I've ever had in my business, I am not lying.

I laid on the couch for like three months and I had the best three months in my business because I believed that my business, that my previous hard work, that pass around the smile was going to carry on because it's magic, because it's what I'm meant to do, because it is so aligned and off it went and off it did.

Do less, attract more. We can do it. As I talked about before, those people that you see that seem to effortlessly attract things, again, we don't want to assume that those people aren't working hard for what it is that they want, but it's very probable that their energy is just infectious and they are working on their energy through meditation, through healing themselves, through putting themselves first, working on themselves on their self-worth.

And this is when your energy will just start to flow and attract the things that you are wanting to attract. You can be a powerful creator, even in stillness, even when you're resting.

Sometimes when we are forcing ourselves to be productive and we're getting stuck in that wheel of go, go, go the productivity can actually be counterproductive.

productive. If you are in this space at the moment where you're feeling a little bit stuck, where you're lacking clarity, where you feel like you're trying, but nothing's really happening, nothing's flowing, then honestly, like you need to do your card spreads. You need to journal, you need to meditate, you need to put in the work for yourself first and foremost.

And When I had like a really tough few years with acting and with my life purpose and I was just so stagnant and I was trying to manifest and I was forcing and I was pushing, but then I would realize I was forcing and pushing and I knew that that wasn't the right thing to do. But how do you not force and push when you don't know what it is that you need to be doing to get yourself to a point of I am where I'm meant to be if you don't know where you're meant to be?

It's self-development. It's self-reflection. You have the answers already, which is really exciting. When I finally tuned in through doing my card readings, asking my cards the specific questions like, is this person, you know, right for me to chat to about my business? that You can get specific with your cards. And when I'm talking about cards, if you guys didn't know, I create my own Oracle cards. I have three decks for adults, one deck for kids, but the adult decks are what I'm talking about now.

I'll do three card spreads. So I'll use all the decks. And yeah, like I was asking specific questions like, is this situation right for me? Or why am I feeling so blocked about this particular situation?

And the answers that you get are just like, they're just mind blowing. And then I would take to my journal. I would use my journal prompts and I'd be like, why am I feeling this way? Why am I feeling resentful?

You might not think that the fact that you are feeling resentful towards someone or something that happened in the past has anything to do with you moving forward with your goals, achieving your manifestations, but of course it does.

Anything that you're holding on any negativity, any limiting belief, any fear, anything will stop you from living a life in alignment because you can't live in alignment when you are not connected to your truth.

Whatever it is that you are wanting to manifest, it has to come from a place of trust. That trust comes into your energy, your overall energy that is going to guide you through.

Energy is everything. And when you are feeling like it's all too much, it's all too hard that you have to work for years to get your goal or this project that you're going to do is going to take so much effort, remind yourself that the universe mirrors your energy, not your effort.

Of course, I'm having little limiting beliefs that come in here like, oh are they going to be following what I'm saying? Am I making any sense? Is this good enough? Because I was struggling to believe that I was like good enough or had enough energy to do this podcast.

Because I'm human. So it's okay to have these little negative thoughts and fears and limiting beliefs that come in. But overall, I'm doing it. I'm having fun. I'm trusting the process. And I know that my energy will help hopefully all of you that are listening to this right now.

because my energy is far more powerful than my effort. And I am putting less effort into this than other episodes. I'll be honest, my my intuition isn't completely switched on today.

But I also do want more. But at the moment, I'm feeling guilty and greedy for wanting more because I have it in my mind so good right now. And I don't want me ah striving for more to take me away from the present moment of where I am right now.

However, what that is resulting in is a little bit like and some issues around self-worth because I guess I'm not feeling worth having even more than I have right now where it's like I'll look at other people and they have, you know, a lot more, say, wealth or success in their business and a beautiful family life.

So number one, there's three, there's three little facts, facts, statements. I don't know what they are. Number one, neuroscience and the reticular activating system. So I have talked about the reticular activating system quite a bit on the podcast.

It's really fascinating. So this says, I'll just call it the RAS because it's a it's a mouthful. The RAS is a network of neurons in the brainstem that filters incoming information and highlights what is important to us.

And let's say Indigo cried for like 10 minutes this morning and I am tuning into the belief that I'm a bad mom because she cried for an extra 10 minutes this morning. And what my reticular activating system is going to do is it is going to show me evidence that that support my belief.

So my belief, because let's say I'm vibrating low, is that I'm a bad mum. So my reticular activating system will show me a memory of when, you know, i cried when she was crying because I couldn't handle it anymore. Or it will take me to last night where I didn't cook her a wholesome dinner you know, instead I gave her like a pouch from the supermarket.

It will show me the evidence that support that belief. So what we want to do is we want to use it in the opposite way. So let's say we have a belief that we are so successful in what it is that we do. Our RAS will then show us the evidence that supports that.

So it will show you all of the opportunities, the people, the examples as to why you are so successful in what you do. This goes to show how important it is to focus your energy, the big word today, it's all about energy, your energy on what it is that you want, on the positives, on the good things, on what is working rather than what is not working.

Okay, number two, neuroplasticity and thought patterns. Repeated thoughts and visualizations can strengthen neural pathways, making certain behaviors and thought patterns more automatic.

By consistently aligning your energy with your desires, you are essentially rewiring your brain to support those outcomes. So the powerful affirmations that you repeat, they're not spiritual. They're not woo-woo. Well, yes, they are.
