Jonah Coleman: The Ideal Pick for Denver?

00:39:23
Lord Hinkie
Yeah, I like the Jonah Coleman pick at 2-1. I like the landing spot in Denver a lot. I think he's going to end up being the new J.K. Dobbins. I know they did re-sign him, but J.K. Dobbins is on his last leg, literally. So I think he'll be a good 1-2 pairing there with R.J. Harvey. I don't think this necessarily hurts R.J. Harvey. I still like his outlook dynasty-wise. I think Jonah Coleman just adds to this running back room and adds to this team as a good, solid player.
00:39:48
Lord Hinkie
Any qualms?
00:39:50
ninja
No qualms.
00:40:02
ninja
Woo!
00:40:03
Lord Hinkie
We are, baby. a little sad he went in the fifth round, so a little bit later than I thought he would go. But if he's going to go anywhere, I'd want him to go to Tennessee. Yeah. The Titans have a very old and injury-prone running back room with Tony Pollard and Tajay Spears. So I think Nick can definitely make his way onto that team to start off as the RB3. I think he'll probably return puns, probably return kicks. He can be that juice, you know, switch, change of pace running back, and then obviously they're going to eventually move on from Tony Pollard. I don't think Tajay Spears' knees are going to hold up too long. So I think this is a
00:40:40
Lord Hinkie
I don't think Nick Singleton is going to be very great the first year, but I think long term, if he can kind of keep battling in that RB room, I think he has a chance to earn a pretty big role there for that offense. And I believe in the talent of Nick Singleton. So I'm going to bank on him, and I don't mind taking him here at the 2-2. Big swing for in a running back, especially in this class, but I don't hate it at all.
00:41:03
ninja
So my deal is, I love Nick Singleton. We are.

Nick Singleton's NFL Future: Worth the Early Pick?

00:41:07
ninja
I've been an avid promoter on this podcast. I like the other Penn State running back more. Now, Nick Singleton landing spot, perfect. Home run, you couldn't get any better if you wanted to. I agree.
00:41:21
ninja
It won't be this year, maybe a year from now, maybe two. Who knows? And by then, who knows? The Titans may draft another running back, and he's submit substantially better. you know Maybe they get an Ahmad Hardy next year.
00:41:34
ninja
Who knows? but and like My one qualm with this is I i like the player. I love the landing spot. 2-2 is way too early.
00:41:45
ninja
And it's my as as as a stater, I think it's too early. Unproven. I think he's a good third down option. I think he's great out of the backfield catching balls. But actually, you know, an every down guy?
00:41:57
ninja
Don't think so. I don't even think he's an early down kind of guy at the NFL level. But I love the player. Like the player. Love the landing spot. I hope everything works out so us staters can have another stud in the league.
00:42:12
ninja
But this is one I was scratching my head a little bit.
00:42:16
Lord Hinkie
Yeah, I don't mind the the slight reach on it. I do agree it's probably early for him in the consensus rankings, but in my head, basically this entire second round is like a tier for me. So if you're just going to draft a guy, just go ahead and draft your guy. So yeah, other than that, I have no qualms. I do agree it's probably a little bit early, but I don't mind the player. but like the player. like the landing spot.
00:42:40
Lord Hinkie
I don't think it's going to be any any immediate impact, but... It's going to be pretty good in the long term. So go ahead and break down who goes here at the two three
00:42:50
ninja
2-3. IFB once again doubles up. This time he goes wide receiver.

Jeremy Bernard: The Next DK Metcalf?

00:42:55
ninja
He takes Jeremy Bernard out of Alabama. Not one of my guys, but finished really high on my wide receiver eval list. I absolutely love this guy. Such a high floor with this guy, and his landing spot couldn't be more perfect.
00:43:11
ninja
In a wide receiver and needy team, who knows what Roman Wilson is? They just traded for Michael Pittman, who I'm not a fan of. I think he really replicates a lot what DK Metcalf does, just on a worse scale.
00:43:25
ninja
So I think Jeremy Bernard pretty early can carve himself out a role in the slot. I love this pick. This is a great shot if you're going to take a shot.
00:43:37
ninja
And LFB just adds another wide receiver to what I would say is a pretty needy wide receiver room.
00:43:45
Lord Hinkie
Yeah, I mean, everyone knows my feelings of Jeremy Bernard. I don't think I would have drafted him until the third round. There's probably four to five wide receivers I like more than him. But if I'm looking at it in a nutshell...
00:43:55
ninja
Oh man, he should have taken a tight end. i'm I'm looking at his roster again, he still didn't take a tight end. With so many picks, no tight end.
00:44:02
Lord Hinkie
Yeah. I don't know if there's a tight end here. I would take it to two, three. So I don't mind that. And then he does end up getting a tight end in the third round, which we don't really care about, but I do actually, yeah we'll talk about it for a second.
00:44:13
Lord Hinkie
He drafted Eli Raritan, who ended up going to the new England Patriots, I believe in the third round. I liked that player a lot. I like, I'm a drafted him in a few positions in the third round. so I'm totally fine with that.
00:44:24
ninja
I'm not.
00:44:26
Lord Hinkie
But Jermon Bernard here at the 2-3, I just don't agree with. i just don't think he's that good of a player. i know he went second round to the Steelers, and the Steelers are notoriously good at drafting second round wide receivers, but
00:44:36
ninja
Yeah, they are.
00:44:39
Lord Hinkie
I don't know.
00:44:39
ninja
Kid might be a stud. I don't know.
00:44:41
Lord Hinkie
this I think it's closer to the Roman Wilson than it is the George Pickens.
00:44:45
ninja
don't know. And like, we we talk about tight ends. Yes, I said a lot of times there's a big tier after my top two and the top two already went. he The next tight end off the board was Raritan, and there is five more guys at tight end I like more than e Eli Raritan.
00:45:01
Lord Hinkie
Yeah, I would say two for me.
00:45:08
Lord Hinkie
Shocker.
00:45:08
ninja
But moving on, it's an okay selection, Jeremy Bernard. I love it. Junior hates it. up But...
00:45:12
Lord Hinkie
Nope.
00:45:14
ninja
At the 2-4, your boy's ninja is back on the clock. His final pick this draft, and guess what, guys?

Elijah Surratt: Baltimore's Major Win?

00:45:21
ninja
Junior, once again, give it to me.
00:45:27
ninja
Eliza Sherratt somehow finds his way to the 2-4. My goodness. I couldn't be more ecstatic.
00:45:37
Lord Hinkie
Ecstatic.
00:45:39
ninja
Ecstatic, words are hard.
00:45:41
Lord Hinkie
Love it.
00:45:41
ninja
Just like I am for Surat. An amazing selection here. And I love the landing spot. Now should have he had gone a round or two sooner. Where another guy went. Yes.
00:45:52
Lord Hinkie
For sure.
00:45:53
ninja
But I love the player exponentially more. He's going to refill that.
00:45:59
Lord Hinkie
Exponentially.
00:46:00
ninja
Dude. Leave me alone. I'm trying to do big words.
00:46:01
Lord Hinkie
a
00:46:02
ninja
They're just not working right now.
00:46:03
Lord Hinkie
No, i'm i'm and I meant that in a I'm impressed.
00:46:07
Lord Hinkie
Because you did hit you did nail that one.
00:46:07
ninja
Thank you.
00:46:08
ninja
I did.
00:46:09
Lord Hinkie
Yeah.
00:46:09
ninja
Crazy. I didn't think I did. But I love the player. I love the landing spot. I think he immediately takes over that Rashard Bateman role, but is much better than Rashard Bateman.
00:46:21
ninja
A lot more consistent. I love Elijah Surratt. This was a home run for me, and we'll go over my team eval after you know we're done with all the selections. But A-plus here at the 2-4 for Surratt.
00:46:36
Lord Hinkie
Now, before I play devil's advocate, I want to preface this with I completely agree. I think Elijah Surratt is going to be a very good why outside wide receiver for the Ravens.
00:46:49
Lord Hinkie
Obviously, the Ravens never really had a high-level prolific wide receiver, but they ended up drafting Surratt in the fourth round, so and i'm I'm not expecting him to be a high-level prolific wide receiver. I'm looking at to him to be decent, to be pretty good. Now I'm going to ask you this question. We're going to have to talk about it.
00:47:06
Lord Hinkie
They ended up the Ravens, Baltimore Ravens drafted Jacoby Lane in the third round before selecting Surratt in the fourth round. Is this a Casey Concepcion Denzel Boston level player, like level pick where it's like, well, they drafted the guy we like more second, but we just commit to having that guy first.
00:47:25
Lord Hinkie
Like we believe in our talent and our process over the Ravens, kind of like we did last year with Epic, IU Maynard and Shamira DK, because DK ended up going first, but we liked IU Maynard lot more. Is this a similar sort of situation where we like Surratt better as a player? The Ravens liked Lane better as a player.
00:47:45
Lord Hinkie
So do we believe in our process and our talent evaluation over what the Ravens told us?
00:47:52
ninja
Great question. The answer is yes. Lane is a much more like experimental player. like he is I think he has a higher higher ceiling than Surratt, but the floor is so much lower.
00:48:05
ninja
so you kind of got to find that middle ground. I think they shot their shot on a guy. Lane himself, big wide receiver. I think he's 6'3 or six four Great speed.
00:48:15
ninja
They probably thought you know you can't miss on the the type of athletic potential that he provides, but Surratt is an immediate impact in this offense, and I don't know if Lane can push him once Surratt gets the job, which will be week one.
00:48:32
Lord Hinkie
I completely agree. I think Surratt is a much better player than Jacoby Lane was. I don't like Jacoby Lane's tape at all. So I completely agree. I think it's a great pick here at the 2-4. I probably would have started thinking about Surratt at the end of the first round in this draft. So very good pick here at the 2-4. Moving on here to the 2-5. IFB or LFB is up again.

Emmitt Johnson's Role in KC: Too Crowded?

00:48:53
Lord Hinkie
This is his sixth pick in the first two rounds. And that's even with him trading away the 1-12 in this draft class.
00:49:01
ninja
Still no tight end.
00:49:02
Lord Hinkie
Still no tight end. Didn't end up going tight end with this pick. He ended up drafting Emmitt Johnson, a running back. to up going to Kansas City in the fifth round. Took the wrong fifth round running back, in my opinion. We both agree. I think this pick should have probably been Keatron Allen if you're going to go running back, especially, you know, being we are. And I think he got a really good landing spot. But Johnson going to Kansas City definitely got the KC bump. There's not a lot of well, there's not a lot of running backs competing for the backup job there. Obviously, they draft or. They signed Kenneth Walker in free agency. I can't believe i was going to call him Kyle Walker.
00:49:39
Lord Hinkie
But, yeah, I think it's a fine pick. This is the part of the draft where it's like just take what you need, take what who you like. Like I'm not going to have too much too many qualms with where you're drafting players. I'm just going to kind of disagree with the player that you take. I like another running back better. You probably agree as well.
00:49:55
ninja
I very much agree. Kyle Walker, Man City left back here the 2-5. Crazy big...
00:50:02
Lord Hinkie
Absolutely rapid pace. Guy at 97 pace. Yes.
00:50:08
ninja
I like the player. Here's the problem. I hate the landing spot for him specifically. Kansas City needed a running back. I don't know if Johnson was their guy because Kenneth Walker fills the first, second down type of role. They already drafted last year, Brashard Smith, who's great on third downs.
00:50:29
Lord Hinkie
yes
00:50:30
ninja
So what's the role going to be carved in here? And they still have Pacheco. And I think Kenneth Walker, Pacheco,
00:50:35
Lord Hinkie
Do they, though? Is Pacheco still a running back in the in in the NFL? I know he is, but is he?
00:50:39
ninja
he is, yes, like he's still going to, like he plays the same role that Pacheco does.
00:50:46
Lord Hinkie
Yeah.
00:50:47
ninja
So maybe you get off the Pacheco money and then he's that guy, but you signed Kenneth Walker too. So where's the uptick in value fantasy-wise? I don't see any. So as much as I love the player, i hate the landing spot.
00:51:00
ninja
I really do. And maybe I'm biased because I'm a Brashard Smith truther. Always have been, always will be. But it's tough for me to really like this selection, especially because, you're right, Keitron Allen was my number three running back in this year's draft.
00:51:21
Lord Hinkie
Hate see it. Moving on here to the 2-6. This is going to be B.H.

Chris Brazel: Risk vs Reward

00:51:27
Lord Hinkie
Spartan's second pick in this draft.
00:51:30
Lord Hinkie
Could have been his third pick. And speaking of, this will actually be the other part of the Jeremiah Love trade for Jonathan Taylor because of the To acquire Jeremiah Love, I also traded away the 2-6 and Jonathan Taylor in this draft class. And with that 2-6 pick, Spartan ended up drafting Chris Brazel, wide receiver, ended up going to Carolina in the third round.
00:51:55
Lord Hinkie
lot to talk about here with this pick. I'm going to start off by... This is now what everyone's going to look back on a couple of seasons, a couple of years from now, when they discuss this trade for Jeremiah Love is how did Chris Brazel turn out? Obviously, the big parts of that trade being Jeremiah Love and Jonathan Taylor.
00:52:14
Lord Hinkie
But Chris Brazel has a chance to either make me look like an idiot or make me look like a genius. So I guess that'll time will tell there. But speaking of time telling, Ninja, as the XL lover, Xavier Leggett guy of this draft class, does Chris Brazel kind of erase that Xavier Leggett role?
00:52:37
Lord Hinkie
Or do you think they can somehow play together with Ted McMillan?
00:52:41
ninja
Here's the deal. Here's the deal. XL has a different role than Chris Breswell. Chris Breswell is a downfield type of guy. I don't really see him as a slot.
00:52:53
ninja
I think he's a Z and he's a field stretcher at Z. XL, if they use him right, he's a slot guy. Far and away, he's most best in the slot. I said that in his tape coming out.
00:53:05
ninja
They didn't really use him as that. He didn't really get looks. And then it just kind of got gross because bunch of guys were seeing targets and XL wasn't. Now, as an XL and Chris Brazel guy, Chris Brazel was high on my board.
00:53:20
ninja
great Great pick for BHS. that this is the If Chris Brazel hits, you're going to look like a star. yeah he He will win this trade if Chris Brazel turns out to be a top 15 wide receiver in two years.
00:53:36
ninja
He will have won this trade.
00:53:36
Lord Hinkie
Even even like like a solid wide receiver three I think would be a pretty good outlook for him.
00:53:41
ninja
Yeah, like, so home run for the pick. I hate that you brought XL into it because XL has been doing me dirty recently, but i I'm still a believer, kind of I don't know.
00:53:47
Lord Hinkie
Had to.
00:53:52
ninja
I lost a little faith. He needs to renew that. As soon as I see him catch one one ball and go, like, eight yards after the catch, I'm back in. so But I love the
00:54:01
Lord Hinkie
You're very, you're not very, it doesn't take much to impress you.
00:54:05
ninja
Well, no, it's just once you're my guy, it's easy to be back on being one of my guys. Like, I ride the line very tight for my boys.
00:54:14
Lord Hinkie
Pause. Moving on here at the 2-7, Zebby Bobby is back up again, and he drafts Kaytron Allen, running back, i ended up going to Washington, I believe in the sixth round, if I remember correctly, but.
00:54:29
Lord Hinkie
I didn't think we'd be clapping for a six-round running back going at the middle of the second round, but in this draft class, it's a very good pick. I love the landing spot there. im Basically going to be him and JCM competing for early touches there. Rashad White's in the mix. I think they get third down work there for Washington, but the running back room is open. So if K-Tron can kind of show his way and show that he belongs there, I think he's going to see some touches pretty early on because he's ready to play. He's an NFL running back. He's going to be ready to roll right off the bat. So I like the landing spot. I like the pick. Definitely my ronie back my favorite running back left. I would have taken him probably even sooner than this.
00:55:11
ninja
Cater and Allen, great running back, great landing spot. He was my RB3 going into this draft over Jadarion Price. We won't talk about that, though. I love this kid. Definitely NFL ready.
00:55:27
ninja
i love He has the biggest potential to be an immediate starter and allow you to make playoffs this year.
00:55:38
ninja
I think Catron Allen is an immediate potential starter kind of guy. Like, if he eats away at JCM, I don't know. I'm kind of torn because I love JCM, but Catron Allen, we are. Also, we didn't get to RB evals. My guy, Catron Allen, above Nick Singleton. I think if Catron Allen can win the first and second down workload, this is an absolute home run of a pick. I was debating Keitron Allen at the 2-4.
00:56:08
ninja
I really was.
00:56:08
Lord Hinkie
Yeah. Yeah, I think that's fair. I definitely can see him carving himself a role in the NFL pretty early on, and I think he's going to stick there for a while. I don't necessarily think he has the upside to kind of be anything incredibly special, but I think he's going to be a solid dynasty piece that'll probably be startable in a year, if not two.
00:56:27
Lord Hinkie
Moving on here to the 2-8. First pick here for Ryder back, and he ends up drafting Mike Washington that goes to the Las Vegas Raiders, I believe, in the fifth round as well, if I remember correctly. Solid pick here. He's going to be Gentile's backup, so having a gente having a good handcuff there as a solid pick here at the tail end of the second round. So I got no qualms with this pick, Ninja. what are your thoughts on Mike Washington going going here at the 2-8?
00:56:56
ninja
like the player hate the landing spot talked about a lot for running backs he plays the same kind of role that Gentile plays he's not a pass catcher he's a downhill bruiser so what is he going to be because Gentile is that type of running back I don't know i like the player hate the landing spot like for me for this pick like a C plus mainly because of landing spot not the player though I like the player
00:57:19
Lord Hinkie
Yeah. I do think it's a high-level handcuff, though, because if something were to happen to Gentry, God forbid, I think Mike Washington gets the full reins, and I don't think they're going to lose a step from Gentry.
00:57:29
ninja
Oh, agreed. Yes.
00:57:37
Lord Hinkie
I'm not to say they're not going to lose a step, but I think they will utilize Mike Washington in a similar role. Lower levels and less production, obviously, but...
00:57:43
ninja
Yeah.
00:57:45
Lord Hinkie
I think you'll they're not going to completely switch their offense because now they have Mike Washington instead Gentry.
00:57:45
ninja
Instead of getting...
00:57:49
ninja
No.
00:57:52
ninja
Instead of getting tackled a yard behind the line of scrabbers, you're going to get tackled too.
00:57:57
Lord Hinkie
Exactly. Yeah.
00:57:58
ninja
Love it. Yeah.
00:58:00
Lord Hinkie
And then Ryder Beck ended up having back-to-back picks here at the 2-9, and he drafts Carson Beck,

Carson Beck: Backup QB's Short-Term Value?

00:58:07
Lord Hinkie
quarterback. Went to Arizona Cardinals.
00:58:11
Lord Hinkie
Yeah, not a great pick. I don't love Beck the player. I don't love the Arizona Cardinals taking him at the third round.
00:58:19
Lord Hinkie
I see a world where Carson Beck maybe starts NFL football games this season because the Cardinals are so bad and Brissette's having this like contract dispute with the Cardinals, so...
00:58:31
Lord Hinkie
In the hypothetical fantasy world, i think Carson Beck can maybe have some value just because he might start a couple games. But at the end of the day, I don't think he's good. I don't think he's going to be a long-term answer there in Arizona. I think he's going to end up being a backup. I'm not saying he's he's not going to be out of league, but I think he'll be a backup in the NFL. And he drafted a backup quarterback in the 2-9, which I guess I can't harp on too much because someone else drafted a backup quarterback with the 1-12 of this class. Yeah.
00:58:59
ninja
I'm going to harp on it a little bit. Brian and Beck drafted Sid the Sloth here at the 2-9, and it's I don't like it, mainly because he needed a quarterback in this draft.
00:59:10
ninja
He drafted the wrong one. Yeah.
00:59:13
Lord Hinkie
Yeah. Yeah.
00:59:14
ninja
That's the only qualm I have is like Carson Beck is fine as a backup.
00:59:16
Lord Hinkie
yeah
00:59:20
ninja
There's no starter potential. He's a, he's a QB to the rest of his life forever. No one's going to put all their tickets in the hat for Carson Beck.
00:59:31
ninja
But I think the situation for the Cardinals, if he does have to step in, I don't think it's bad. I think it's okay. But man, he really passed up on what I think could be a,
00:59:44
ninja
Definitely a starter in the next two years. So D plus, I guess, for this pick. I'll keep giving out grades because I think it's fun. But D plus, mainly because you didn't get the guy that you should have.
00:59:57
Lord Hinkie
Yeah, I'm going to see mine this year for me. Big grade guy. At the 210 here, we have Zebby Bobby up again. He drafted Mekhi Lemon at the 1-4, Keaton Allen at the 2-7, and now he's up here at the 210. He takes Zachariah Branch, wide receiver, went to Atlanta, I believe in the second round. No, third round. but Zachariah Branch goes to Atlanta. I think it's a fine landing spot there for Zachariah Branch. I got no qualms taking kind of a dart throw on him at the end of the second round here.
01:00:27
Lord Hinkie
Not a lot of competition there behind Drake London for targets of the wide receiver position, so I'm totally cool with it. QP position there in Atlanta is kind of questionable, but no we're not going to figure that out today. There is wide receiver I for sure would have taken above him when I'm going with the next pick, but I can't give it too many qualms because it's not a bad pick. So Zachary Branch going here with a 210 ninja breakdown.
01:00:54
ninja
Don't love it. Don't hate it. i think the player's okay. I know I wasn't ecstatic with this film. i just thought he was okay. There's probably... let me count off of eval...
01:01:07
ninja
and One, two, I believe three wide receivers I had above him that went in this draft.
01:01:10
Lord Hinkie
Thank you.
01:01:14
ninja
But the landing spot, King. I don't think it gets much better than this landing spot wise. Atlanta got Jahan Dotson. I think Jahan Dotson is a lot better team football player than fantasy football player.
01:01:29
ninja
So he pushes Jahan Dodson for that wide receiver 2-3 type of role, which is what's going to be crucial in this offense. It's just it's a good dart.
01:01:41
ninja
It's just not necessarily the dart throw I would have thrown, but I think the player's okay. Love the landing spot. B-minus.
01:01:49
Lord Hinkie
Yeah, I think that's fine. Next pick here, I mean, just an absolute banger. If we were not... DW's back up here at the 211. We harped em in a lot harped on him a lot for drafting Omar Cooper at the 111, which we both of agree is pretty much a reach, but...
01:02:06
Lord Hinkie
I'm going to give the guy all his flowers here with drafting Antonio Williams, wide receiver to Washington at the 2-11 here. just Just could not have been better. Obviously, he's a so I'm going to be a little bit biased. But i I think getting Antonio Williams, third round, day two draft capital for wide receiver, not only that, he ends up going to Washington, which has a pretty much wide open why receiver room behind Terry McLaurin.
01:02:35
Lord Hinkie
And you get him here at the 211 after all these other wide receivers went to, I i would have taken Antonio Williams with the 112.
01:02:41
ninja
Mm-hmm.
01:02:43
Lord Hinkie
And you get him here at the 211. It's an incredible pick, incredible value, tremendous amount of upside if he ends up being the wide receiver two there. If Jaden Danos can stay healthy, he's going to have a pretty good slot option there as well.
01:02:57
Lord Hinkie
absolutely love the pick. I have zero qualms. To be honest, this is my favorite pick in this entire draft. I give this an A+. plus An A+++. I give it an S if I could.
01:03:11
Lord Hinkie
I would create a new letter to put before A so that way I can give it to this pick.
01:03:17
Lord Hinkie
Omega.
01:03:19
ninja
let's lower the expectations down let's I almost swore there no just no Jesus the answer I have is no
01:03:26
Lord Hinkie
Yeah. I'm a frat house is what I am for this pick.
01:03:35
ninja
As all listeners know, I'm not an Antonio Williams guy. His film this year was nasty. Gross, gross, gross. He got the draft capital. He got the team. i just don't think the player is right. I give this an F.
01:03:49
Lord Hinkie
awful.
01:03:50
ninja
Mainly because there's a player I like who just went two picks later. Three picks, technically. Yeah, three picks, technically, with this draft. A lot more. There's another wide receiver I like a lot more.
01:04:03
ninja
I thought this was a total reach. I don't care what you come into college as. It's what you leave as. And it was disappointing. He got the draft capital. he got the team.
01:04:14
ninja
I don't believe in the player at all. To be honest, DW picks this draft. Hated it all. If there was a worse drafter in this draft, congratulations, DW. got my green flag for it. Nasty, nasty. Gross, gross, gross.
01:04:30
ninja
Hated everything about this. I just don't like the player. I thought this was really gross. Everything is going for him to kind of do this.
01:04:40
ninja
But if I remember back, he also thought Luke McCaffrey was the same thing. And we saw how that turned out. I think it's the same kind of deal.
01:04:49
Lord Hinkie
Are we going to be we want to talk about our player breakdowns and our histories because we can talk.
01:04:56
ninja
Okay. We can if you want. I'm an open book, buddy.
01:05:00
Lord Hinkie
I don't want to talk mean, we got XL on here who's a very recent one.
01:05:00
ninja
yeah.
01:05:03
ninja
Oh, yeah. oh yeah
01:05:05
Lord Hinkie
So we don't have to we don't have to start throwing darts here. Let the guy play some football first.
01:05:08
ninja
Is that my one miss?
01:05:10
Lord Hinkie
Not your one miss, but it's the one I thought of in my head and I'm not going to think any further because
01:05:10
ninja
Is that my one miss?
01:05:13
ninja
Okay. There's plenty more. I'm glad that's the only one you got. But, yeah.
01:05:17
Lord Hinkie
There's a lot of mine. I mean, all of mine are out there. My Brian Edwards, my Clyde Edwards, hilars all of them are out there already, so everyone knows about me.
01:05:24
ninja
Yeah. We'll make a bet after this podcast. I don't even know what. Because we made one during the draft. I lost.
01:05:31
Lord Hinkie
Yeah, which I won, by the way.
01:05:31
ninja
Which is crazy. Yeah, yeah.
01:05:33
Lord Hinkie
Day two draft capital for Antonio Williams.
01:05:33
ninja
I lost.
01:05:36
Lord Hinkie
Shocker. Who didn't think that was going to happen?
01:05:36
ninja
Crazy. Imagine Washington making a bad life decision. Shouldn't have done it. Anyways, let's move on.
01:05:43
Lord Hinkie
I could not disagree more. Moving on here to the final pick of the

Malachi Fields: Undefined Role and Support Issues

01:05:48
Lord Hinkie
second round. I guess we'll actually we'll talk about one more pick as well. The 212 here, Ryder Beck, who drafted Mike Washington and Carson Beck at the end of the second round, also drafts Malachi Fields, wide receiver, formerly of Notre Dame, now of the Giants.
01:06:04
Lord Hinkie
Yeah, me and Ninja are both not big fans of this guy. i don't think he's a great football player. I don't necessarily know if he's a tight end or if he's a wide receiver. I think he might be a tight end.
01:06:17
Lord Hinkie
At least he goes to the Giants, who, you know, he'll have some opportunity to play there because their wide receiver room kind of sucks behind the league neighbors.
01:06:26
Lord Hinkie
Other than that, i don't I don't love the player, so don't think it's going to pan out. But if you're looking at a wide receiver who I think he did he get drafted in the third round? think I think I got drafted in the third round. A third round wide receiver that has a chance to be a wide receiver two for a team.
01:06:40
Lord Hinkie
You get him at the 212. Sure.
01:06:44
ninja
No. Gross. Ew. Ew. I know this guy didn't listen to wide receiver evals because if he did, that wouldn't have been the selection here. I know that for certain. This is an F for me.
01:06:56
ninja
This pick itself. Malik Neighbors is in hell. He has no help.
01:06:59
Lord Hinkie
Yeah.
01:07:00
ninja
He still continues to have no help.
01:07:00
Lord Hinkie
Yeah.
01:07:03
ninja
And it's so nasty to see. I hate it because Malik Nabors is going to die there.
01:07:08
Lord Hinkie
Yeah.
01:07:08
ninja
And it's... I hate it. No help whatsoever. Malachi Fields is the grossest. No, he's not a tight end. Way too late.
01:07:19
ninja
I hate it. I hate this pick. I hate the player. Bad, bad, grocries gross, gross, gross. Ew.
01:07:27
Lord Hinkie
And to cap off this podcast and this draft, in the Straight Cash Homie League, we kind of have a fun little side thing where the team that scores the most fantasy points during the regular season gets added on a 2-13 pick as you know as a reward for scoring the most points during the regular season.

Chris Bell: Health Risks vs WR Potential

01:07:48
Lord Hinkie
that so happened to be also the back-to-back two-time champ of the Straight Cash Homie League, yours truly, Lord Hinckley. And with that 2-13 pick, basically a gimme, a freebie, just for being awesome and being the best player and or being the best owner in this entire league.
01:08:06
Lord Hinkie
Not only do I get to leave this draft with Jeremiah Love, who is everyone agrees is the best player, I get to leave with my guy, if you will.
01:08:17
Lord Hinkie
I draft Chris Bell, wide receiver, formerly of Louisville, now a Miami Dolphin. Chris Bell fell in the draft a little bit. not going lie to didn't think he'd go in the third round. I definitely thought he was going to be a second-round player, but obviously that ACL injury kind of scared some NFL teams away, which was kind of a theme in the 2026 draft if you end endt up watching it.
01:08:42
Lord Hinkie
But Chris Bell goes to Miami, wide open wide receiver room, and I think he's by far the best player there right away. i think if he's healthy and if I think if he pans out, I think he's going to be very good. i I am a big fan of him. I'm a big fan of his game. He just needs to stay healthy, and I think the best thing for him at Miami would be to and just kind of chill out a little bit.
01:09:08
Lord Hinkie
Maybe take it slow. Let's rehab. Let's not force this thing because we're going to suck no matter what. We're trying to be bad. We just hope you pan out for the future. We want you to get healthy. So I hope Chris Bell kind of takes it slow, takes it easy. I'm going to throw him on my taxi squad for a year, and then hopefully in 2027 we can talk about how he's the biggest buy of the offseason because now he's the wide receiver one in Miami, which I think he is right now. So Chris Bell ended up going here at the 213 to yours truly and Ninja.
01:09:40
Lord Hinkie
Any qualms at all?
01:09:42
ninja
Literally none. Chris Bell was above the previous...
01:09:47
Lord Hinkie
I'm shocked he was available.
01:09:49
ninja
Above the last three, for sure. Let let me go back. So just above the last three taken. Home run. I don't know how we fell this far.
01:09:59
ninja
Believe it or not, I was trying to trade back into the late second round here. Just to get a little taste of that Chris Bell action. It wasn't meant to be, but home run of the pick.
01:10:06
Lord Hinkie
Mm-hmm.
01:10:10
ninja
Who's to guess it? The king, the two-time champ, the back-to-back champ is back at it, making phenomenal picks to make his team even better and better.
01:10:14
Lord Hinkie
What? What?
01:10:21
ninja
So scumbags like me can't go there and get the chips.
01:10:25
Lord Hinkie
Sorry about it. I'm going keep winning, brother. But, yeah, that pretty much breaks down this straight cash, homie, two-round breakdown. You heard a couple grades in there. You heard our feedback. Yeah.
01:10:37
Lord Hinkie
The only other, I guess, pick of note, which I think we both kind of want to talk about, is Drew Aller ended up going at the three two in this draft class.
01:10:48
Lord Hinkie
And to be honest, he was a big consideration for me at the 2-13 because I am kind of QB needy in this league. But I just think for I need to draft best player available, and Chris Bell was just there. If Chris Bell was not on the board, I would have drafted Drew Aller at the 2-13, but... him being there was just, you know, cherry on top. But Drew Aller ended up going at the three, two. I tried to make multiple trades to try and get him at the end of the second round or the beginning of the third round. They did not pan out.
01:11:18
Lord Hinkie
Damien, I believe you did the same thing. Pretty much just a slam dunk pick there at the three two We both agree. i think he has a chance to start right away if Aaron Rodgers decides to retire. And then even if Aaron Rodgers decides to come back, he's not going to be playing 17 games. Who's going to be the backup for him?
01:11:36
Lord Hinkie
I think Drew Aller is definitely better than Will Howard. This guy might be, and we I think notorious across the board, everyone kind of agrees, Drew Aller has a a pretty good chance to be a better NFL quarterback than he did a college quarterback, especially in the Pittsburgh run-first system.
01:12:03
ninja
I think third third round's fine.
01:12:05
Lord Hinkie
I think it's fine.
01:12:05
ninja
D2? Come on. I love the player, love the pick, love the landing spot is perfection.
01:12:12
Lord Hinkie
i heard I heard on a podcast this guy might not have been drafted. And even day two.
01:12:17
ninja
Couldn't be me.
01:12:18
Lord Hinkie
Could not be us.
01:12:19
ninja
Couldn't have been me. But before we go, i just want to, because it's hard to go through all these picks, but let's go through the ZNG portion of this draft and kind of

Ty Simpson at 1-12: Poor Judgment or Strategic Move?

01:12:29
Lord Hinkie
Oh, Lordy. Yeah.
01:12:30
ninja
collaborate on who we all took, like our draft summaries of this draft.
01:12:34
ninja
And we can start with you.
01:12:35
Lord Hinkie
Yeah. Yeah, let me let's let's just get me out of the way.
01:12:39
ninja
Yeah, let's get the champ out of here.
01:12:41
Lord Hinkie
Yeah, so you know you trade up for the 1-1. You draft the best player in in the entire draft in Jeremiah Love. And just because you're awesome, you end up getting the 2-13 pick and you leave with Chris Bell.
01:12:52
Lord Hinkie
I get the running back one consensus first best player in this draft, and I also get a my guy at the end of the second round. I couldn't be better. Jeremiah Love falls right into my starting lineup. Chris Bell falls right into my taxi. And to how you doing? Keep moving.
01:13:08
ninja
A move. Love it. A draft.
01:13:10
Lord Hinkie
Yeah. Yeah, I would give myself an A as well.
01:13:14
ninja
And then moving on to me, after much deliberation in this process, cause I was fighting demons this draft. Uh, And it ended on Kenyon, Sadiq, Denzel, Boston, and Elijah Surratt.
01:13:26
ninja
I give myself an A-. minus And the only reason it's not an A+, is because I gave up a 27 second. But who knows what that's going to be. But I got two my guys and maybe the best athletic tight end we've seen in a long time.
01:13:43
Lord Hinkie
Yeah.
01:13:44
ninja
Who knows? A- minus for me.
01:13:46
Lord Hinkie
I'm actually going to give you an A, and the only reason you're not an A-plus is because you did give away a 27-second. We kind of have to contribute that trade into there. But for me, you drafted the best player on the board at all three of your picks. So I can't give you i can't give you any qualms or any notes because you did exactly what I would have done as well. I like Sadiq's long-term. The only thing with him is that can he produce at the next level? one I think he eventually will. Like Boston, i like the Browns' landing spot a lot.
01:14:17
Lord Hinkie
Like Surratt, don't love the Baltimore landing spot, but you know that's why he went in the second round, not the first. So I give you an A. And then the trade I think is a little iffy, but you got a my guy, so it is what it is.
01:14:30
ninja
got to do what you got to do for my guys. And the most fun part, the reason I brought this up. yeah What's the grade we're giving our boy Zig here for his trade up for Ty Simpson here at the 112?
01:14:44
Lord Hinkie
It's so tough because it's like, do you grade the trade or do grade the pick?
01:14:48
ninja
I give it averages out to a D minus for me.
01:14:51
Lord Hinkie
I was going to say a D, yeah.
01:14:54
ninja
The trade, A+. plus The pick, F-.
01:14:56
Lord Hinkie
Oh, yeah.
01:14:56
ninja
minus So it just kind of, yeah it's not exactly center, but I hate Ty Simpson that much.
01:15:00
Lord Hinkie
Yes. That it brings it back down to a D.
01:15:03
ninja
That it's, yeah.
01:15:06
Lord Hinkie
i If I could... we talked about this earlier. I created a new letter to go in front of a to give that grade for Antonio Williams. If I can create another letter to go below F and let's just say it's a Z, I would give that for the Ty Simpson pick at the one 12.
01:15:21
ninja
It's such a Zig pick. Yeah, as a Z pick here for Zig.
01:15:22
Lord Hinkie
It is a very Z pick. It's a very Z pick.
01:15:25
ninja
Yeah. A Z draft class for Zig.
01:15:26
Lord Hinkie
So yeah. Yeah. I'll give him a D I'll give flat D because he did end up pulling off a trade to acquire a quarterback, trading away a quarterback that'll probably never play in the NFL again. So,
01:15:37
ninja
And that was his only pick this draft. I changed my mind. F-. minus It's not D-, minus it's F-, minus that was his only pick. And he selected Ty Simpson. You bum. You stink, Zig.
01:15:46
Lord Hinkie
Oh, man.
01:15:47
ninja
Hop on the mic again. Maybe you'll get a D-, I'm kidding, it's still an F-, minus.
01:15:51
Lord Hinkie
Yeah. Also, that guy's gone. His email is just flooded with invites from me to adorn a podcast.
01:15:57
ninja
And he's just not here.
01:15:58
Lord Hinkie
I'm just not here.
01:15:59
ninja
hate to see it.

Draft Dynamics: Scouting and Preparation Insights

01:16:13
Lord Hinkie
This is a fun one. This was a good one. This draft was also very awesome, i think, for both of us.
01:16:18
ninja
Super exciting.
01:16:19
Lord Hinkie
And this is for us, it's kind of like our, I i would say it's both of our favorite leagues, to be honest. so it's very fun that it's kind of going our way and we kind of seem to be doing well. So, you know, I love it. This was a good podcast. do you have anything to say to the people before we head out? Big Phil.
01:16:36
ninja
Hey, man, this is why we do scouting. This is like in a not good draft. We both traded up and got guys. Like, this is why you do scouting. So you're able to have that knowledge to go up and go get a guy.
01:16:49
ninja
Absolutely love to see it. Even in a not good draft. Like, this is some good stuff. I thought this was the most exciting draft. Just the way things landed. This was the most...
01:17:00
ninja
weird draft in a good way. Like in no other league is Fernando Mendoza falling to the one eight, like in any other league, I don't even know in one QB leagues.
01:17:03
Lord Hinkie
So strange.
01:17:11
ninja
Is he going that late? Uh, but, and if you're doing those, get out of those. they're terrible, but, What a home run draft. What a home run mock series. What a home run draft this was with all the fellas here.
01:17:26
ninja
Appreciate all the guys in the league you know willing to move with us to move up and and get our guys here.
01:17:26
Lord Hinkie
Mm-mm.
01:17:33
ninja
you know That's what we're here for. That's draft content we're going for. But stay in touch. A lot more heaters to come, and we'll figure it out. Sorry for the delay on the podcast.
01:17:43
ninja
you know Life things happen. Work things happen.
01:17:45
Lord Hinkie
It is what it is.
01:17:46
ninja
Hate to see it, but we'll be back next week, I'm sure, with another heater. Can't wait. Love talking football with you, buddy.
01:17:55
Lord Hinkie
Yeah, we'll find out whatever the next podcast ends up being. Obviously, it's during the offseason now, and it's even post-draft season, which tends to get even slower than the pre-draft season does. So stay tuned. We'll kind of figure out some fun things for us to do. And, you know, maybe we might not be weekly at this point. might be bi-weekly, but... Stay tuned.
01:18:14
Lord Hinkie
We're going to keep throwing out these podcasts for you guys. So, yeah, that's pretty much all I got. And before we break out here, uh, I know we are big on the, uh, mental health side of things.
01:18:25
Lord Hinkie
We, at the end of these podcasts, we always kind of throw together a little bit of, uh, you know, a little bit of wholeheartedness, a little bit of feel good stuff. So May is, uh, mental health awareness month.
01:18:36
ninja
I'm sorry.
01:18:37
Lord Hinkie
So, like we kind of preach here at the podcast at the end of all of our episodes, just be nice to people around there. Be nice to your coworkers, friends, even as strangers you on the street. Just be a kind soul, be a caring, forgiving, lighthearted. And, you know, if you see a guy on the street who just drafted Ty Simpson at the one 12 and he's carrying two kids and a wife's yelling at him because he's moving too slow, maybe hold the door for that guy.
01:19:06
Lord Hinkie
Give him a kick on the ass as he walks in.
01:19:06
ninja
Or don't, it's fine.
01:19:08
Lord Hinkie
Give him a kick on the ass as he walks in because he drafted Ty Simpson.
01:19:08
ninja
Or don't, it's fine.
01:19:11
Lord Hinkie
But maybe hold the door for that guy. Help him out a little bit. But as always, be a friend. Tell a friend something nice. This is was the this is a great podcast. So tune into the next one. And yeah, I guess we'll see you guys either next week or the week after.
01:19:23
Lord Hinkie
Love you guys. Peace.
