Speaker: The Salambia Saga is a story -driven, action -packed, fun -filled D &D podcast. I'm your DM, Anthony, and today we are joined by Lucas, playing Roshka. That's me! Larry, playing Tiller. Why, hello. Welcome to the session, everybody. Enjoy your time. Robin, playing Fosk. Hello. Nice, uh, nice to be back.

Speaker: and Hailey playing D 'Elon. And with that, we will get into it. So we last left off with you leaving the guild. You've been assigned a grade 2.

Speaker: mission to essentially investigate and possibly put down a demon worshipping cult that is somewhere outside of town. She went ahead and pointed that out to you. So you are already well on your way. Just opening up, is there anything that you would like to do in the town before you leave?

Speaker: We did just get money. We should probably use that to buy supplies. See if we can track on healing potions, et cetera, or any other thing of the sort. That is a good idea. Okie dokie. So do you want to just ask someone about it or do you want to just go and look for it for yourself?

Speaker: Let's see. I'll ask someone if there's a potion shop in town. Okay. This is the little more expensive side of town. As you guys noticed when you came up those stairs, there aren't as many people walking in the streets like there were in that little residential district.

Speaker: Um, but you do notice a few passers by and, uh, you see a quite large, uh, dragon born man, uh, just kind of standing against a wall, not really doing much of anything. He's just sitting there. All right. Foskle approach level. And, uh, he'll kinda make himself seem like smaller approachable and he'll be like, uh, excuse me, mister.

Speaker: Uh, yeah. Whatcha need? Hello, I was wondering if there was a potion shop in town. I'm new to the area. A potion shop, uh... Well, there's a few of them. It depends on what potions you're looking for, though. Eh, mostly potions of healing.

Speaker: Okay, I if you can look for healing and like supportive potions That's probably going to be Hmm should I send you to maguras or should I send you to?

Speaker: Nah, I'll send you to Magora's. So you're gonna go over to Magora's Magic Shack, and you're gonna look on the right side of the store, and yeah, you'll find your potions there. Okay, Magora's Magic Shack, okay.

Speaker: And is this an easy to spot building or? It's it's very colorful. There's like a bunch of signs. It's quite large. OK, thank you. Oh, you're welcome. Have a wonderful day and let's go take a sleeve. Excuse me, Mr. Dragon. Oh, no. Yeah.

Speaker: Where can I get more knives? And I open up my Transco to show all the knives hanging. Well, you're gonna have to look at the... Well, I'll just take you there myself. Just follow me. Okay, can I piggyback?

Speaker: I guess so. Are we really going to let Luzon go by himself? I'll keep him at the trouble. Fascal. Sorry. I don't really have anything better to do, so I guess I'll follow along. How about...

Speaker: killer and the louton go and get the knives and me and Fosk we go get the potion. Okay, yeah, that works for me. All right. I'm good to put that as well. Okay, so he basically just helps Rasha get onto his back a little bit.

Speaker: This man seems a little weathered, so... May have been a dad at some point. Maybe not. As a... Hold on.

Speaker: The man is going to kind of help Roshka get onto his back. Seems fairly weathered. Probably could have been a dad at one point. He can't really tell. He gives you a brief bit of information on how to get to the magic shack and then let you on your way while taking Tiller and

Speaker: Roshka? Yep, Roshka. Back to the place he was going to. So we'll start with just Roshka until we're for now. So it takes you down a fairly wide set of roads. There seem to be more people, you feel like you may just be getting into a more commercial district.

Speaker: People going in and out of shops, running down, talking to each other, laughing, having a good time. You notice that he's nearing the end of a road and not changing direction, not doing much of anything. And all you see him is just approaching some unmarked building that has no windows. And you see as he kind of stops there in front of the door,

Speaker: and waves his hand a little bit. And you see it disappear. And behind it is a quite large building. Very gray, very dull, very mechanical looking. And he takes you a little further and you see a very small dwarven man just tinkering away at something.

Speaker: And he looks over and he says, uh, these guys, they, they won knives. And you see the dwarf, uh, look up for a brief moment. He smiles. He says, Oh, no knives. I've got knives. Go like.

Speaker: Lots of them. I got swords. Hammers. Eh. What else do I got? Probably shields. No, no, no. I want knives. I want the poke thing. Well, what kind of knives do you want? Do you want something for cooking? Do you want something for killing? Eh. What's the difference? Well, the cooking knives are... They're a bit bigger.

Speaker: Heavier meant to chop through like bones and things that aren't moving but The smaller ones they're skinnier and sometimes longer those are the killing knives. Do you want the killing knives? I got killing knives. I Don't know I just have these knives and I show the regular assortment of Combat daggers that

Speaker: Seeing the wear and tear on them, it's quite obvious that he uses all of them interchangeably for hunting, like trying to cut down trees and cooking at the same time. He takes a brief look at those knives and almost just his face drops. He looks aghast. What were you using those knives for?

Speaker: Oh, well, they look so bad. Do you take care of them? Yes, I do. I have a bed for them. I make them sleep so they feel good. That's not how knives work. You gotta sharpen them and you gotta clean them. You can't just put them to bed. They're not alive. They can't go to sleep.

Speaker: Roshka looks over cleaning the ass. Attila. What do I do? Well, do you want new knives or do you want your current knives to be better? I don't know. You know knives, right? These dagger things? I ask him how much would be the difference of just getting new knives versus getting them repaired.

Speaker: Well, if I'm going to be sharpened and taking care of your knives and making them look real nice, it's typically just a little bit cheaper. Just because not a whole lot of work goes into them, but I don't know. These knives are...

Speaker: They're sad. I hate looking at them. But you know, I'd say if you're looking to get one knife, new one, that might run you probably about 30 shelves.

Speaker: Uh, a bunch of new clean knives? I don't know. That might run you. Uh, you got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Uh, oh, that's a, you, I didn't realize how many you had there just a second ago. Um, I could probably sharpen them all and make them look real nice for probably about 50 shelves.

Speaker: All right. I was about to say that how about four knives for 20 shelves? Oh, I've never been the Hagelin type. Hmm. Let me see.

Speaker: And I promise when we come back from our mission, we will come back to you for the other four. Hmm. Lower price, but guaranteed customer. Hmm. Let me think about that for just a minute. Tom, what do you think I should do? You think I should give him a little bit of a deal?

Speaker: Uh, I don't know. I just brought them here. Huh? You're never really much help anyways. How about we do your four knives for 30 shelves? And when you come back, I'll do the other four for 15. You know what? That sounds fair.

Speaker: Alright, well seems like we may have a deal um however, I will say you you are gonna have to leave them here because it does take a little while you can't just Stay here till they're done What do you think you can have them done by? Probably this afternoon All right, I think that would be Adequate amount of time. Thank you. Oh You are very welcome I hand him the

Speaker: He's looking for shelves and not sorry shelves. Yeah, just the shelves. I was saying that. All right. So I give him 30 shelves, 20 from the party supply. Sorry, 20 from, uh, Roshka supply and 10 from the party supply. Okay. Um, Roshka, do you hand over your knives willingly?

Speaker: Yeah. Where do you do it begrudgingly? I very begrudgingly and one of them in particular that is most definitely the worst condition of all he seems quite attached to but eventually he hands it over. Okay, so he takes them and he sets them down on a nice cloth covered table.

Speaker: And, uh, basically just waves you goodbye. And, uh, who you now know is Tom takes you back out a little area and you see him wave his hand back where there was nothing. And now the wall is back there with the door. So, Tom, what is the, what would be the way for us to get back here this afternoon if you're not available?

Speaker: Oh, uh, it's, it's, it's pretty, uh, what do they say? A foolproof. Uh, you just gotta kind of like wave your hand over here. Like just, just here, I guess. And it should just open for you, but I don't really know, man.

Speaker: And Roshka doesn't wave his hand and just immediately sprints towards the wall that he saw disappear a moment ago. You just run into it. So he basically...

Speaker: Kind of shoes you away a little bit. He's like, all right, we'll see you guys later. And he looks a little, a little nervous even. Just in case I wave just to test it out as the other person leaves. It falls out of its illusion. And then I wave back to put it back on. And it comes back. Interesting. Very interesting.

Speaker: Okay, and now we will go to Fosk and Diolan. Alrighty, we're looking for a nice colorful shop that the guy mentioned.

Speaker: Yes, you guys start walking down what seems to be like the main walkway of this little district. You see quite a few large buildings, but nothing really too colorful. You do see paint and nice colors around, but he did mention it was quite colorful. You start walking down the road. This area seems very, very busy.

Speaker: There are people coming in and out of shops or market stalls on the road. This is definitely a place of much business. And then you notice towards the right side of the road, a little further down, you see a much larger building with many different floating lights around it. Very, very colorful. And you see a massive sign on the front.

Speaker: And it says, Magora's Magic Shack. And you see a small little symbol right underneath the K and shack. You can't really see much from a distance, but you'd notice that it seems to be some kind of logo or something. Okay.

Speaker: Well, when he said colorful, I thought he'd mean like, you know, colorful in comparison. This is just colorful. Yes, semantics. But when we go in there, go ahead and pick out your potions and let me do the talking. Foskul, give him a look.

Speaker: And he'll be like, hey, you'll better not be intending to give this shop owners any trouble. Trouble? No. What kind of skeleton do you think I am? Come on. I mean, not skeleton. I mean.

Speaker: Person, what kind of person do you think I am? But you know, we don't have a lot of shelves to be, how do you say, spending. So, you know, let me haggle for a deal. When you say, when haggle comes out of your mouth, I'm concerned.

Speaker: Considering what I saw in the guild hall, Dylan. Listen, we got the information that we needed. And we got it pretty, how do you say, quickly. And you know what? That's not such a bad thing. After all, we are contractually bound to Almighty Ghost Spirit God day. So, hey.

Speaker: You'll say in public in a business district, Fosco will say, and then reach for a deal on Zarm and just kind of drag him towards the shop as they're having it. It pops out. Okay, you can have this back after the shop encounter. First of all, that is not fair. I do not come out stealing your arms all willy -nilly.

Speaker: You know, go on Zed. Get it back. I'm gonna attempt to take my arm back. And I'm assuming you're resisting, so go ahead and do a... We'll do a contest of dexterity here.

Speaker: We'll go ahead and do... Yeah, we'll do... We'll do Rosh... Not Roshka, we'll do Deelon first. Okay. 11. Okay, Fosk. 13. God damn it. You do not... You do not gain access back to your arm. And now Fosk has entered the store.

Speaker: Give me my I mean, give me my armor back. Yes, that. So as you as you guys enter the store. You notice that not only is it big on the outside, it's big on the inside. Oh, my. You see immediately as you enter a stack of baskets next to the door.

Speaker: You even see some weird baskets with wheels. And you see in front of you a line of counters. Each counter has what seems to be some strange box on top. And there are many different, we'll say, shop keeps here.

Speaker: and quite a few customers. They're going up and down what seem to be aisles, similar to the library you just came from. You see things stacked on these shelves, you see potions, you see armor, you see, uh, hats and

Speaker: clothing, you see books, scrolls, and towards the very, very far right in the distance, you do see a bunch of bottles of things. Okay. Alrighty. So, on a scale of 1 to 10, how close is the story to being at capacity?

Speaker: Like, is it, like, really crowded? Is it not that busy today? It is very crowded, but I'd say, at capacity, probably a seven. Okay. There's still plenty of room. Sweet. That's perfect for me. Um, I'm gonna have Fosk duck into a crowd and attempt to shake Delon. Basically. Clangs.

Speaker: You must double that. Like basically sneak through a crowd in order to lose the deal on from following him. Okay. Go ahead and we'll do stealth. While you have my arm. Yeah, you'll get it back when you behave, honk. My arm is going to take a limb.

Speaker: Okay, so the disadvantage of - I'm assuming. Yeah, we'll take it. That's still a 20. Oh. God damn it. Okay, so now - I have one plus mine to sell. Now we're at perception for D -1. Okay. Let's see what my perception is. Oh, my perception's okay. Okay.

Speaker: That is, okay, well that's, that's a whopping four, so. Yeah. Uh, you lose Fosse completely. That's fine. Uh, now there are only a few people out there, but some, for some reason, somehow Fosse has just disappeared.

Speaker: Now that Fosk isn't around to judge me, I'm going to find the nearest Mark, somebody who's shopping, and I'm going to walk up to them and be like, excuse me, Monami, could I trouble you for a little bit of help?

Speaker: Uh, you make your way to what seems to be an elvish woman. Quite tall, fairly slender, nice flowing blonde hair, and very piercing green eyes. She turns to you. She has a basket full of goods. And, uh, she looks a bit puzzled? Uh, yes.

Speaker: Oh, please mon ami, I need your help buying some healing potions, as you can see, my arm was cut clean off! I was robbed by Luton, and they took all of my shield! Well, you don't seem to be in that much pain, is this recent?

Speaker: Oh, the pain. I am going to gaslight her. Let's go ahead and roll deception. Okay. Oh my gosh. That is really good. That is a 24.

Speaker: And she looks at you for a moment and then, you know, shot just appears on her face. Oh, oh. Yeah, let's let's go right now. Let's let's go. Please, Monami, I just need a couple of healing potions to complete my quest. You see, I am on the very important quest, the pain. She's she's not even really listening, but she's started making her way to the potions hurriedly. I'll follow her.

Speaker: So you guys get to the potions. She goes ahead and picks two of the largest ones down and immediately hands them over to you. Go ahead, drink. They'll understand. Oh, thank you. I need the shelves to pay for them. I am just a humble knight and I would not like to partake of this potion without paying for them. No, no, don't worry. I'll just bring the empty bottles up there when I pay.

Speaker: Can I convince her to just give me the money for them? You can try. I would like to roll persuasion. Go ahead. All right. Do it with disadvantage because you were supposed to be, you know, arm cut off. Okay. That's still a 19. Oh my. She goes,

Speaker: Oh, yeah, yeah, go ahead. I have a friend that's actually working today. We could skip in line. This is an emergency. She hands you about 40 Shelbsworth.

Speaker: I'll take them and take the potions up there and be like, you are a very kind lady. You are so kind. And I cannot tell you enough how much you are helping in this important, very, very serious quest of mine. Oh, it's no problem at all. I'm always willing to help. But we need to get you to the register so you can, you know, drink the potions.

Speaker: Yes, yes, of course, of course. And then I'll go up to the camera. So she leads you through like a crowd of people and kind of pushes past some. And you see another elvish woman, much, much shorter with black hair and very bright blue eyes. And the woman walks up. A she.

Speaker: I need some help here. Uh, this, this, uh, this knight has gotten his arm cut off and he doesn't want to drink these potions without paying for them. So, um, can, can he, uh, can you give him one? Can you give him a discount and you know, uh, just, just help him out. He's obviously in a lot of pain. Oh, the pain, the pain. And as Shay looks you up and down and says,

Speaker: He cut off his arm? Yeah, yeah, he cut off his arm. Can't you hear him? I was robbed by you too. I took all my shelves and they cut off my arm. And she just kind of looks at you and says, okay. And she goes ahead and looks at you. With the discount, that'll be 25 shelves.

Speaker: No, thank you. Thank you. I'll give her the 25 shelves. And she just leaves the potions on the counter for you. And the woman you previously were with, she looks at you, drink, drink them, drink them.

Speaker: Yes, yes, I will take the potions and then I'm gonna start to walk away. And be like, do you hear that? They come and then I'll like tuck the potions away in my bag and like draw my sword and dramatically run out of the store.

Speaker: She looks at you and says, oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, go help them. That's very good. Thank you, kind lady. I will not forget your eyes. And then leave. She just kind of looks at Ache for a moment and they trade glances and they part ways and she resumed shopping.

Speaker: Fosk, what are you doing through all of this? Man, I just, I just want a normal shopping experience. I'm going to, going to track down, down the potions, the potion section. So you see, uh, on the right, there's a lot of bottles. Very, very long aisle of bottles. Okay. Uh.

Speaker: Well, I'm sure the healing potions are labeled. Make a perception check. Uh -oh. Something I don't have expertise in. This is going to be scary. That's a 10. Yeah, you don't really notice any labels anywhere. But you do notice they are color coded and sorted. Sweet. Now, just to go with the...

Speaker: the unending conflict of what healing potions are colored. Let's see. So I'm gonna have a Fosk. Fosk is gonna ask like a customer who like looks like somebody around who looks like they know what they're doing.

Speaker: Since I'm like retail, there's usually like a worker or somebody like that. You actually do see someone stocking the potion shelves. Oh, sweet. A fossil approach. And he'll be like, hi, I'm so sorry to bother you. I, uh, I was wondering, uh, where's the healing potions were?

Speaker: And this quite short human human man looks at you. He's bald. He only has one eye. Looks at you. Do you not have eyes? You can look and see where the potions are. I'm not that familiar with potions or this area. I'm so sorry.

Speaker: If you aren't familiar with these potions, then why are you looking for them? That seems kind of silly, don't you think? I'm a first time adventurer. I need to leave town. And if anything goes awry, I need to be prepared. A first time adventurer. And you're leaving town. You must have a death wish.

Speaker: Yeah, just something I really need to do. Okay. I mean, if you insist, the healing potions are going to be basically at the very end of the shelf. They are blue in color and varying sizes from very small to very large. Okay. You'll see them, I promise. They kind of glow.

Speaker: Okay. Thank you very much. Oh, you're very welcome. I guess I'm dying out there. I'll do my best. I'm sure you will. Fascal, hurry over to the healing questions. Um, do they have like any explicit pricing on them anywhere? They do not. Okay. Well, it's just is difficult.

Speaker: Come on, see. So you see there are five shelves. Mm -hmm.

Speaker: At the top, there are smaller potions, the smallest size. Probably fit in your hand very, very easily. You can probably fit about three of them in your hand. And you have the next step, larger potions, probably fit one in your hand. Maybe two. The next one down, probably need one hand if you're strong enough to hold it. The next size down, you're gonna need two hands.

Speaker: And the last size seems like a bulk size. It is a very, very large canister instead of the gin, like the normal bottle. Oh, geez. Almost like one of those very large accent vases that you see in like rich people's homes. OK, that's the potions for giants. Those, the ones up top will probably help Roshka bust.

Speaker: classical grab, like, um, not the smallest size, but like one of the, one size up from the smaller size, one that fits in the hand and then like two of the smaller ones, it'll be like, eh, well if I have enough for this. So you said one of the second level and two of the first level? Yeah. Okay.

Speaker: So you notice the register area from when you walked in, you see pretty much all of them have a line of at least three people. Yeah, I'll stand in whatever line is most appealing, aka the shortest.

Speaker: And or not, you find yourself in in the middle. Now, there are a few less people here. And you notice at the at the at the counter that this very large and this. Scarily grotesque creatures manning the register.

Speaker: Weird green skin seems to be blighted with something. There are lesions and scratches and other things on this individual and their eyes just seem to be pits. And they have very long flowing thin black hair that reaches all across their very large and hunched over back.

Speaker: Um, and they seem to be talking to themselves as they do stuff. Uh, very, very slight whispers. Uh, however, they do their job very quickly and you were at the front of the line before most people have even gone through the first person in their lines. And as you reach the counter, uh, it looks you up and down. Is that all?

Speaker: Uh, yes. Oh! Any special plans for these health potions? Uh, I was intending to get out of town. Oh, out of town! Okay. I went out of town once. Now look at me. Well... Hey!

Speaker: I'm not dissuaded. If you ever encounter something very, very tall with only two legs and a weird box at the top, don't mess with it. I speak from experience. I'll think twice, thank you.

Speaker: All right, so for these potions, if this is all you are getting, eh, you are looking at it. Hmm, maybe 15 shelves altogether? Okay, sweet. I will pay them.

Speaker: All right. Uh, it takes some money. Puts it in the weird box and then hand you your potions back. All right. See you later. Hopefully you don't look like me when I see you next, but I wouldn't know when I. Thank you very much. Oh, you're welcome very much. Fascal.

Speaker: You have the potions and, you know, scary way not letting to waste your time. Right. So as you, uh, as you exit the store, uh, deal on, what are you doing? Oh, I'm, uh, sitting outside, uh, waiting, try, I'm looking through my bag to see if I can don a disguise so I can go back in there.

Speaker: Well, do you have anything you could disguise yourself with? I do not, no. So as you're rummaging through your bag with two quite large potions next to you, a phos sees you. Oh, hello. Oh, hello. Now, what are you doing? Well, I was going to download the skies and go back in there, but I think two potions will do.

Speaker: I'm gonna lift them up, clang them together softly. Clink, clink. I thought, you know... Hey, you know what? I'm not even going to ask. Let's go. Alright. I mean, you should. It was a great performance. Hey. I'm sure it was. Can I have my arm nice?

Speaker: Right, right. Fascal reached to where he started away in his bag and then he'll put the deal on his arm bag. And as you attach just nice and freshly, you see that same elvish woman walk out with a couple bags in her hands. Oh shit.

Speaker: Oh, your arm is all better now. Where are these, what did you call them? Luton? Yes, Luton. Where are they? I have slayed them all and turned them into dust because I am such a great and noble knight. Oh, well, I'm glad that you did your job very well and you're much better. Thank you. It was all because of you. And without your help, my quest could not continue. So pat yourself on the back.

Speaker: Uh, she, she looks at her hand for a minute, both of them, which are both taken up by bags. She goes, ah, I might do that later, but no, I appreciate it.

Speaker: Yes, yes, well, feel proud. You have helped a very serious and noble and chivalrous knight complete his quest. And I hope to see you again someday, Madam as well. And thank you for the potions. This here is my squire, Fosk. And yes, all the questions can pertain to him. Good day now. And I'm going to take my potions and get the fuck out of there.

Speaker: And she just smiles and blushes a little bit and then walks away. And you hear her say under her breath, ah, what a nice guy. And he said he'll remember my eyes. And she walks away. This poor lady. At least she feels good.

Speaker: So you guys find a central meeting point that was definitely totally discussed before you split. Yes, absolutely. Clearly. Well, I guess we could just assume that the meeting point was back at the gildol.

Speaker: Yeah, fair. Oh, we don't have to assume it was definitely 100 % discussed, obviously. Yeah, absolutely the Guildhall. We would never not discuss where we were meeting with each other beforehand. I would like to roll Persuasion to Gaslight Tiller into thinking that we definitely talked about this. I guess counter -roll with Insight? It passes immediately.

Speaker: We're so dumb. So, uh, uh, Roshka and Tiller, you, uh, noticed that Fosk and Dilan are coming back, uh, to the guild hall, uh, with a plethora of potions. Now, now Fosk, who said a little persuasion can't get us what we need? I don't.

Speaker: I don't think your, uh, persuasion is a generous word for you. What does that supposed to mean? I got the sepotions, did I not? I was in there. Hearing the snippet of the conversation, Tiller would just put his fingers to his temples.

Speaker: I don't even know listen listen you can frame it however you like but I got us some potions some pretty big potions mind you for the whole party the potions that I can't even use because I am a skeleton so you know you're welcome Roshka's eyes light up at the mention of potions I've heard of those before and I have one

Speaker: Can I eat one now? Or just have food, right? No, they are not food. You cannot food these raska. Maybe Nana doesn't know. I hate to tell you this raska. I'm going to kneel down to his level, put a tender hand to his shoulder. I hate to tell you this raska, but your Nana is wrong.

Speaker: All the more reason. If she was right, she wouldn't be dead. You see? She didn't have horses back home. Yeah, exactly. So, you know, what does she know? Anyways, I'd probably... Well, don't worry about it. Just, you know, if anybody comes after you with pitchforks, maybe run. Yeah, don't worry about it. Semantics.

Speaker: I think we've unlocked a new favorite word. Yeah. Semantics. Semantics. It's all semantics. He doesn't agree with me, it's semantics. See you guys.

Speaker: meet up, have a brief little conversation, and then go ahead and head out of town. As you're reaching the edge of town, where you were directed to go, you notice a very large wall guarded by quite a few people. They're all in full sets of armor, can't see their faces, can't see any part of their skin.

Speaker: all different sizes, but there's an insignia on the middle of each of their chest plates. It seems to be some sort of flower, and underneath the flower is a probably

Speaker: some kind of pond something of significance a body of water and it's all it's it seems to be burned into each of the chest plates and as they see you approaching the gate uh... they speak stop right there where do you think you're going

Speaker: I'm standing right here. I'm not going anywhere. No you're not. You're clearly going somewhere. Do you have exit papers? Do you have exit papers? I do not, but that's besides the point. Do you have exit papers? And here's dungeon. That's the way that it goes. I pull out the mission slip that we have.

Speaker: This is just a piece of paper from the guild. But what does this mean? You need exit papers to exit the city. Are you a merchant? No, honestly, we're very new here. Where would we go to get exit papers?

Speaker: What do you mean you're very new here? You can't have come in. If you'd come in, you'd have exit papers. How does that work? Folks of your ilk definitely didn't teleport in the city. That just doesn't make any sense. You would need leaving the city if you could teleport. Then you just teleport out of here. Actually, we met this blue lady. Actually... Let's get... Let me handle this.

Speaker: Oh, so now you have something to hide, huh? I'm telling you a little one to be quiet. Is there any like... Go ahead, sorry. No, it's just really complicated. Teleporting wasn't something we intended to do. It just happened. We just appeared here. I don't know how else to say it.

Speaker: Now that just doesn't make any sense. You can't just teleport out of you willy -nilly thin air is just the stuff that works. You have to go to one of the teleportation hubs. So one, you obviously don't have much money or you wouldn't be walking around with nothing. Two, you obviously have no status. Otherwise you wouldn't be walking around with nothing. And three.

Speaker: You wouldn't be showing me some weird little papers if you had something so you obviously have nothing Your exit papers, I don't need papers. I'm not leaving. I'm just guarding the gates I'm gonna look at like his his co -workers and be like a racist man. He has no papers With such vitriol that like it sounds very convincing Let's go ahead and let's go ahead and do some persuasion

Speaker: Oh, it's plus six. 18. They look over at you and you and you see for a brief moment, maybe one or two of them actually pondered doing something. But they stand, they stand resolute. All right. Mind if I barge into this conversation here? Yes. We were, all right.

Speaker: I'm gonna just be as honest with you as I know. We were all adventuring around. We met randomly. We found a temple, and inside the temple there is this weird thing. It's honestly, we wouldn't even believe it if we told you. We touched this thing, a blue light shone, and we appeared here. And now we were just looking for missions to find money for food.

Speaker: And that is the mission that we got, but we don't really know any of the workings of this, uh, place. So, so you're telling me that you found a weird temple, decided all at once equally to go into it, touched a thing at the same time.

Speaker: in agreeance, even though you don't know each other, and then got magically teleported into wherever you came from here, and you say you have no money for food, and yet you are trying to leave the city. See, some things are not adding up right here, and I don't know if I'm going to let you leave. I don't know if I'm going to let you leave here.

Speaker: Well, you missed a detail or two. The first detail was, uh, the teleportation was more of a radius instead of a, we all touch it. It's one of us set it off as I look towards, uh, Roshka, uh, in attempt to look like I'm blaming it on him. And, uh, and then I say, well, we did start today and we helped out this old man. Um,

Speaker: with a rat and a mimic in his house. We got some money. We went to the Adventurers Guild. The Adventurers Guild gave us a level two mission to stop a cult and to do that we have to leave town but we didn't know any of the rules about leaving town.

Speaker: Once again, this story is quite fishy. However, I think we can be quite reasonable when proper circumstances arise. I could, I could let you leave here and even leave the city without your exit papers, but you, uh, you know, you'd have to help me out.

Speaker: Oh, I know what you're trying to do. No, sir. No, sir. You will not be rascal. Will this help also provide us ways back into the city so that this doesn't happen again? Oh, sure. Sure. Sure. Absolutely. I'm going to roll inside on that. Go ahead. Same here.

Speaker: We know Roshka. I know Roshka. I'm also rolling Insight. I do not trust this. Three Insight rolls. Fourteen. Okay. That's a whole seven from Fosk. Okay. He just wants out of here. And from Tiller. Oh, I got a ten.

Speaker: Ah, okay. So he says, he says, sure, sure, sure, whatever. And you feel not a whole lot of, with a 14, you feel a little off about it, but it seems like he's telling at least a little bit of a truth, maybe a half truth, but definitely some truth. The low, low price of 50 shelves. I could definitely let you leave here and let you back in.

Speaker: okay okay i see what you're getting at here let me go to the bank and grab your 50 shelves i'll be right back you just said you don't have money for food why would you be going to a bank to get no money look at this guy he he is some kind of magic man and that is a fucking goblin they are idiots i have money look at me i am wearing knight armor you think i do not have money

Speaker: Come on. Uh, I can tell that you probably just scavenged that armor off of some dead knight because that is a ceremonial attire and does nothing in combat. I will have you know that this armor is very expensive. So let me go grab your money. Expensive to dead people. Do you want money or not? Yeah. And if you leave here, then I'm just going to have to arrest you.

Speaker: So you either cough it up now and leave or you guys get to understand what the Velstrix Heist prison complex looks like. I'm going to look at Basque. I'm going to do the thing. No, you are not. Can I do the thing? Come on. No. This is this is taking too long. Just just a little bit. No, just pay the guy. We don't have money to pay the guy.

Speaker: We just got paid. We need that. Oh, you got paid. You have money. Yes, the man paid us to help him. Tiller, you'll have the group fund, right? Just do it. Are we really going to pay this guy? There is no guarantee he's going to let us back into the city. I mean, look at him. He looks like a weasel.

Speaker: Whoa. Hey, now. First of all, you can't even see me under this, so you couldn't even imagine what I look like. Well, I could tell by your cheap iron armor. These are the animals. This is not cheap iron armor. This is some of the finest crafted steel. I'm just going to. You you are you are irking my nerves, sir. Can I just lift my helmet and scare the shit out of him? Elon, I'm going to.

Speaker: So as you as you lift your helmet, he gets a very brief glance. It says intimidation. OK, go ahead. Eighteen. OK, he likes to chew and he says, oh, you've been gone for quite some time, haven't you? Oh, god damn it.

Speaker: And then he lifts up his own helmet and you see a very, very bright white skeleton under that as well. Oh, hello. You are a skeleton. Ah, yep, in the bones. We all are. It makes us much more easy to, you know, send into battle and defend and whatnot. Yeah, I mean, you know, you know, obviously.

Speaker: No, I do not know. I was just raised from the dead like 20 hours ago. Oh, I mean, oh, oh, you're fresh. And you actually, you know what, Mr. Skeleton? Skeleton to Skeleton, you're getting on my nerves very much. We have a very important quest to go do, and you know, it sounds fishy, but I mean, you are a skeleton after all. So really, is it that fishy?

Speaker: Yeah, skeleton to skeleton, you don't have nerves. Let's be real. It is a metaphorical way of speech. Yeah, as skeletons do, right? Yeah. Listen, I am not going to pay you 50 shelves. I know you are trying to shake us down from con man to con man. But

Speaker: I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. Oh, my God. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Don't play this game with me. How how about we do let's I'll make a deal from skeleton to skeleton. We could do 40 shelves. How about that? 25. Whoa. 30.

Speaker: 28. 35. All right, 30. 30 it is. I'll slip them be dredgingly. My shelves. How much is that? All right, boys, open the gates. Uh, well, Delon, Delon had like, let's say 25. Okay.

Speaker: So then I would slip him another 35 from the party supply. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Party supply is 15. Fosk is down to five. Okay. So you see, uh, not only are there now more guards, uh, you see even more coming in because they are opening this very, very large gate manually through two very, uh, large, uh, what do you call them? Uh,

Speaker: the circle things, the chain, the chain lifts, the anchors, you know, you know what I'm talking about. Yeah, I know what I'm talking about. Yeah. So there's there's been in the things takes like at least five minutes on each side to start cranking. And the gate very slowly creaks open and you are met with straight darkness outside. Like almost complete pitch black darkness. You see a little bit where the light is shining onto the road. That's about it.

Speaker: All right, onward. It only opens slightly enough so that you can all walk through. And then as you walk through into the darkness, it closes behind you. Wow. And for those of you without dark vision, you are very, very dark right now. The Alon's going to make an audible gulping noise.

Speaker: Like, not the sound of Gulping, like he's literally gonna say, Gulp. So, who here doesn't have Dark Vision? I say I have character? Flask has it, being a rule. I can see in the dark. Same. Is Dale on the only one? No, I'm dead. I have Dark Vision. Okay, sweet. And we all have Dark Vision.

Speaker: Yay. I could have sworn you did not have darkvision, Deilon. I'm pretty sure... But we'll go with it for now. No, you were right. I do not have darkvision. Why is this a skeleton not have darkvision? You don't have eyeballs. You can't see anything.

Speaker: What are you gonna see with? I'm undead. Yeah, but you don't have eyeballs. You can't see in the dark though. My creature type is undead. You don't have eyeballs. Both. Problem solved. But when you say any other time, I don't know. L plus ratio. L plus ratio. L bozo. This is racism. This is racism against the French people. That's, you know, I feel like you're committing that already.

Speaker: I'm going to be honest with you, I do not like that I have to pay that guy. It will remind me to get our money back when we go.

Speaker: How are we gonna get back into the village? Oh, we'll figure it out. Do not worry, your sweet little magic head, Diller. I'm sure he'll let us back in for more of a close - Wow! You sound really brave, Diller. Yeah, but - I am, in fact, very brave, little. Right now we don't have enough to get back in. Nobody said it, Diller. We'll work on that later.

Speaker: Well, cross that bridge when we come to it. We're already out. It's okay. Let's go. So you guys know to follow the road out basically until it hits a fairly hilly region and then you take an immediate right. And then you should be looking for what seems to be a very large and lit up temple in the middle of nowhere. And so.

Speaker: You travel along this road, you hear many, many different sounds howling, growling, snarling, but don't see much of anything. It's eerily quiet once you hit the hilly region, and you do once you were instructed, you take a right. And so you follow these hills for quite some time.

Speaker: And you notice a few holes in the ground seeming to be either caves or dens of some sort. And I would like, who is leading this troop? Fosk has the best dark vision. I feel like he should probably be the one leading just because he has a better chance of seeing whatever would be approaching. Then speaking of, go ahead and make a perception check for me. Could I try to assist them because I

Speaker: I believe I have nearly equal darkvision. There's a fellow off. We'll go ahead and do an assist. Yeah, that's fine. Okay. You guys know this is dangerous. You know to be alert, so yeah, I'll take it. Okay, so is that advantage for me or Taylor rolls and I roll? Advantage. Okay. That'd be a 20. So you notice it almost before it notices you?

Speaker: You see out of the corner of your eye a very, very large and quite spindly looking creature. It seems to have four legs is pitch black in color and has these bright purple glowing eyes. You can't really see much of his features just because of the way it's turned at you, but you can notice that it has some sort of snout and it looks at you.

Speaker: and very, very carefully begins to come towards you slinking very smaller and smaller into the ground, trying to get as low as it can as it stalks you. Okay, Fosk is gonna immediately reach for a sword. I'm gonna cast... Guys, we've been found!

Speaker: There's something, and a fascial gesture towards it as it's probably very rapidly approaching. So with Divine Sense, you don't really notice much of anything. You go ahead and ping it, and nothing really comes back to you.

Speaker: So it's not celestial, fiend, or undead, then? It is not. Something far more horrifying. Well, that's all I've got. I'm going to draw my sword. And I want to be clear, too, that it has not been silent. In fact, Dilan has been shaking this whole time. The silence is met with the shaky, clattering bones.

Speaker: so uh as you get closer and as it gets closer to you i begins to growl and snarl at you uh gritting and grinding its teeth so you hear this weird bone grinding sound that is a little different from the shaky bone sound and the rattling of bone against middle and i pick up a rock and i throw it towards it

Speaker: Go ahead and just do a flat d20, see if you hit that bad boy. Sorry, are we still all level one? That's a natural one. Oh, no. Oh, you miss terribly. Then slip a little and fall to the ground. You are now trying. Rashka, no. Put a little bit too much power into that one. Yeah. Rashka, I've been mentioning Rashka 3 so hard. He like flipped himself over. The answer to your question is yes, you are level one.

Speaker: This is great. Okay, this is gonna go phenomenally In parentheses lie You go ahead and roll initiative for me guys It was a bad idea I Told you guys it was a bad idea

Speaker: I rolled a six. You know who listens to the dead guy? I'm just dead after all. 12. Yeah, that's a 10 from flossk. Okay. So I, I heard a 16 from who?

Speaker: Uh, no, I got a six. Six. So I'm last in the initiative order, which makes sense. A six. Uh, 10 from Fosk and a 12 from D 'Alon. Um, dirty 20. I got you your first. Fosk and then... Koshka.

Speaker: So, you know, I didn't roll too well on this bad boy. So... Tiller, go ahead and do what you need to do first. You did your turn. All right. How far away is this creature? It's about 40 feet at this point. Okay. I'm going to... You said 40 feet? About, yeah. All right. I'm going to...

Speaker: All right, I'm going to walk up with the front and take the dodge action with my scimitar out. And then I end my turn. Okay.

Speaker: Um, do you, are you just holding the Dodge action or are you just taking the Dodge action? I'm, uh, holding the Dodge action for if it comes to attack me. Okay. So did you move your full movement up to it? Yeah. I'm using my full movement of 30 feet to move up. Okay. So that way there's 10 feet between me, me and it. I'm like banging my shield on the scimitar, scimitar on the shield. Okay. So that'll bring us to deal on.

Speaker: I am going to... I'll smack it. Give it the ol' smacky smack. Okay, that's dirty 20, that's not bad. 15 plus 5.

Speaker: That's eight. Okay. What type of damage is that? Is that going to be slashing? Yeah, slashing. Okay.

Speaker: So you get up close and slash at it. Seems to do some very marginal damage, but you really can't see all that well. If that is it, we're going to go ahead and move on to Fosk. All righty. So basically Fosk, it's still...

Speaker: It hasn't moved yet, has it? No, it does not. Okay, thank goodness. I'm gonna have Fosk pull out a short bow. Okay. And I'm gonna have him take a shot at it. Alright. That's a 15 to hit. A 15 will hit. And 7 damage. Alright. And you see as your arrow connects into the side of this creature,

Speaker: and pierces inside as it sticks out. You see a bit of black goo running out of it that you can only assume is blood. And that is going to bring us to Roshka. Roshka quite sluggish, stands up from his failed attempt at throwing a rock at it.

Speaker: He is going to put his hand into a pouch at his waist and bring up, similarly to before, a handful of dark powder that he throws into his mouth and starts doing like the toothpaste thing where he blows out his cheeks with it. And then he opens his mouth and does a magical blast towards this creature. Okay, roll hit.

Speaker: That is a natural 12 plus 5, so 17. 17 will hit. That is a damage die. 4. Force damage. Okay. You see your ball of energy smack into the side of its face and it kind of buckles under the pressure a little bit. And you do see it kind of crouch towards the ground.

Speaker: Now that it is its turn, it's going to hop back. It will provoke an attack of opportunity from Deilon, if you would like to use that reaction. Deilon? Sorry, what was that? My mom came in here.

Speaker: Oh, it provoked an attack of opportunity for me if you want to use the reaction. Oh, okay, cool. Yeah, fuck yeah, I want to hit it with an attack of opportunity. Okay, not as good. 13 plus 5. 18. 18 will hit. Oh, 18 hits, cool. And that is a little d8. Seven.

Speaker: Wait, do opportunity attacks add the plus three to your damage? Or is it just a flat dice roll? Yeah, it does. Okay, so seven. Seven, okay. So as it jumps back a little bit, it moves back after taking another slash to the face.

Speaker: And then it opens its mouth, and you see the area suddenly being lit up a little bit as a small orb of pink energy forms in its mouth. Oh shit! And it's gonna shoot it at you, Deelan. Okie dokie. That is going to be a 13 to hit. That does not hit.

Speaker: OK. And that's it for its turn. So Tiller, it's back to you. All right, I would. So how far away is it now? Within movement distance. All right, I'm going to walk up to it this time. And I'm going to, so I'm just making sure to take the dodge action again. OK.

Speaker: but this time in front of its face. And then I'm gonna end my turn. Okay, so deal on. Okay, I'm gonna smack it once again. All right. 15. 15 hits. Okay. Eight.

Speaker: Alright, so you take another slash into it, this time along its side, and you see a quite large gash in the faint illumination of the moonlight. And you notice that it is bleeding heavily, but it's now pouring out of its side. And that'll bring us to Vosk.

Speaker: All right. Uh, so does the environment have any like trees or is it just hilly? It is just straight like Plains Hills. Okay. All righty. Um, yeah, okay. So I'm just going to have like Fosk like inch like a, like 10 feet forward, really. Uh, cause he does not want to get caught up in that pink beam of terrible. And he's going to take a shot at it with the short bow again.

Speaker: Okay. And 11. 11 does not hit. Okay. Then that will be Fosk's turn. You see your arrow just kind of goes straight past it into one of the hills behind it. So yeah, that is a Roshka's turn now. You're stupid. I'll show you how to spit. As I rush forward and bring up another fistful of powder.

Speaker: Okay. That's a natural one. I love Roshka. So about how far did you move forward? I rushed forward my full 30 feet as I can. So, uh, you'd be pretty much right behind, uh, Tiller and D 'Alon. Um, so you, uh, I'm going to flip a coin for this one.

Speaker: Uh, so you, you rush forward and, uh, you trip when you're about to, uh, fire your, your little blast and, uh, it hits Tiller. Tiller now. Tiller, would you like to use your dodge action that you were holding? Yes. I'd say that that is perfectly acceptable. So you see as a.

Speaker: Roshka trips, almost falls, and then fires a blast in Tiller's direction. And Tiller uses his lightning quick movements and gets out of the way. It's scorching into the hillside. Oh, my. So, yeah, that is going to be the creature's turn now, and it is going to look at you, Dilan, and just swipe one of its claws at you.

Speaker: I collapse into bones. Oh, well, yeah, you probably do. It's a that's a that's a four to hit. Or that doesn't hit me. Yes. So when you do collapse into bones, it swipes out where your body was and no longer is. So it misses terribly. And that brings us back to Tiller matrix. My character would

Speaker: So out of character, do we do flanking here or no? Uh, yeah. Yeah. All right. So then I would go over to the spot opposite of, uh, the alone, and then I'll take the dodge action again, trying to, uh, assist and, uh, mock this creature here to probably try to get attacked. Or I'd ready the dodge action for if I get attacked. Okay.

Speaker: specifically if I get attacked, not by whom I get attacked by at this point. Yeah, that'll bring us to D -alon. Alright, I got a reform here. And then I am going to... Can you take a guess? You're gonna collapse into bones again because it's scary.

Speaker: No, I'm going to give it a smack. Yeah. So does your flanking give advantage or plus two or how does it work? It is advantage. Yeah. I like advantage. Oh, well you shouldn't have because that's a nat 20. Oh, okay. Double the damage dice or double damage? I like to double the damage dice. Me too. I always love rolling more dice.

Speaker: That's why we're here. 12. All right. How do you want to do it?

Speaker: like as soon as he collapses into bones when he takes the swipe, D 'alon's gonna reform and be like, LUTAN! Stab it right through the jawbone into its skull and like pull the sword out and then behead it. Oh, okay.

Speaker: So as as you thrust the sword into its lower jaw through its skull, you see it go quite stiff for a brief moment. And in that split second, you take it out and slash its heads off. It crumples to the ground, lifeless and now dead. I crumple with it. Oh, you know, you're not out of combat. So you've got a school, a school rush over the island.

Speaker: It's like, hey, Deelan, are you okay? Go out into the darkness, Deelan. It'll be fine, Deelan. We are adventurous, Deelan.

Speaker: For as a record, I would like to say that I did not say any of that. Well, that's how it came across. And, you know, I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm brave, chivalrous, noble knight. As you can see here, I have slain the creature and we can continue our journey. I would try to assist Roshka back up from being on the ground.

Speaker: That was amazing, Dilla. How'd you do that? Uh, and then I would say to him, um, Rashka, maybe if you can spit, you don't have to get up close. Maybe try to spit from afar. Yeah. I'm just lucky I was prepared. I'm not sure I understand. How far can you spit, buddy?

Speaker: I really far like this. And I feel my mouth and spit 120 feet down the road. So. Oh, gosh, that sounds as far as I can see. You you hear it. Oh, shit. But nothing after that. See, I'm really good at that.

Speaker: So maybe you should stay by Fosk and make sure to protect them in case anything bad happens to them instead of getting closer. Me and Elon right here can handle up close. Maybe you should try to stay afar and protect Fosk. You see this idea that has never entered his mind before.

Speaker: Now he completely understands something. You're not entirely sure that he understands what you said, but he understands something. He gave him an idea. Yeah, yeah. I'll stay back. I can speak. Besides, I don't have my knives anymore. They're back in the city. Yep.

Speaker: OK, so you guys make your way down the road some more. Well, through the hills and in the distance, you do notice quite a bit of light and a very, very large structure.

Speaker: It is a pyramid in shape with steps along the outsides of both. Atop it is a very large sphere that seems to float over it. You see floating lights kind of illuminating the outsides and torches illuminating the surface of the wall.

Speaker: You don't notice anyone outside, but you do see someone maybe within the door. They're wide open, and it seems like there may be a person there. Is this at the boat? Oh. Now, Rashka, let's not make any noise. Let's be as quiet as possible.

Speaker: All right. I prepared as much as I could. There's nothing that I can quite prepare for Roshka. So are you guys going in stealthily or are we just walking? I'm gonna try. I'm in heavy armor and I'm bones. So... Foskle, definitely stealth. As you are heading and leaving us, I put my hand on your shoulder and I say,

Speaker: May blessings be upon you and I wish you luck in your journey as I cast guidance on you. Uh, that was to Fosk. Uh, to, uh, deal on. Okay. Fair. He needs that. And then you just see me start praying to myself. Okay. So, uh, go ahead and everyone just roll for stealth.

Speaker: And whereabouts are we going with this stealth? Are we going front door, around somewhere? I feel like getting a general lay of the land and seeing the number of people who are outside, et cetera, is probably our best bet so we don't have any surprises by people coming inward. Well, you all are going to hate me. That's a gnat one. Oh, I got a dirty 20 for Fosk.

Speaker: Yeah, I got a 15. I think the idea of moving around is probably the best, though we'll see what happens with the dice. I got one. You guys start walking. It's quiet at first. There really isn't much to see. You don't see much around. And then all of a sudden you hear shaking, shivering, flattering, a bone on metal and bone on bone.

Speaker: I can't help it, it's cold. Yeah, let's go with that. That was cheap, that was cheap.

Speaker: So you notice the person that could have been in the door is now no longer in the door. There's no one outside, but they have peeked their head outside, looking around. And this is a hilly place with no cover, and this is in kind of a bowl. So you're very easy to spot. The person at the door looks over at you and waves her arms.

Speaker: Hey! Hey, what are you guys doing? You shouldn't be out there. Come on in. Oh, sorry. Sorry, we were just really nervous. Roshka being very much a monkey -see -monkey -do creature at this point.

Speaker: puts a finger up to his lips and does, as he saw in the library, doing the shushing noise. And he's saying, shh, we're sneaking in! Don't talk! Arashka, no, no, no, no, no. What was that? You're sneaking in? No, no, we're, no. You have a snake? What? Just come over here and we can talk about it.

Speaker: Okay. Uh, Foskle kind of like, uh, okay. Yeah, we'll do that. And as we're going, Foskle kind of clasps his hand over Roshka's mouth and he'll be like, do not say a single word unless you are asked. Okay. We are not sneaking in for that. If you are asked, do not say anything about sneaking in or about a mission, please.

Speaker: So what would you say if they asked, what are you doing out here? Don't just say that we were out exploring, trying to find plants, okay? To cook. Okay. Fosco, let go of Roshka and let Tillery deal with him and he'll head over to the lady.

Speaker: I don't say anything. Yes, but in case they make you talk, just remember we're out looking for plants to cook special food. Oh, that's good. And then I give him one of the plants, uh, that helps male pattern baldness. That was in my backpack.

Speaker: Okay, so as you guys near you see that this this person is clothed in black robes with a very bright yellow and purple trim and

Speaker: And you see on the left side of the chest area, there is a small little insignia that is a scythe and what seems to be yet another flower, very similar to the one that was on the guards insignia.

Speaker: Uh, and this person takes their hood down. Uh, you see a very, very, uh, a dark skinned humanoid, uh, very bright piercing, uh, yellow eyes. Uh, and when I say piercing you, I mean it, they're looking straight into your soul. Uh, no hair, sharp teeth. I mean, they stare right at you. Oh, hello.

Speaker: Who are you guys? Um, pleasure to meet you. We are adventurers looking for special plants, uh, requested by, um, a guild as I pull out some plants, uh, that deal with male pattern baldness. Uh, we were tasked to find the herbs needed to make us soup to cure somebody's baldness. Oh.

Speaker: They're, uh, they're sending you guys out for very, very, uh, very silly things nowadays. Uh, I mean, we just had someone come in last week that was in here trying to get rid of us. Uh, so that's, that's interesting, but, uh, why they send you out here? There's no plans that doesn't make any sense. They told us that it could have been in one of three directions.

Speaker: Uh, further east. Yeah, they never really have their stuff together. So I guess that makes sense. Yeah, we kind of, you know, just, just come on in, come on in. We, it's nice and warm in there and bright and there's obviously no monsters because that would be sad. Uh, yeah, yeah. Come on, come on in. Can I insight that? Yeah, insight.

Speaker: All right. Every single alarm in my head is like, hmm, don't trust this. But Fosk is not having those lines. That's a solid nine from Fosk. A 23. They feel very genuine. Oh, okay. Maybe they just don't view themselves as monsters. Could be. Better perspective. Maybe. I say out of character.

Speaker: I look at the Alon, I look at Fosk, and I realize we kind of have nowhere else to go. So I guess I start to head in first. Hey, thank you. Ready to be attacked at a moment's notice on guard. Do you want this thing? You don't have any hair.

Speaker: Oh, uh, no, I think I'm okay. Uh, I haven't ever had hair and I really don't like the feeling of it. So, uh, I think I'll pass, but I appreciate it. It doesn't make any sense. Uh, but - You don't like hair because you never had it? Well, no, no, I just don't like the feeling of it. Like, have you ever, uh, got like rough fabric on your hands and you just really don't like the feeling? Well, I just don't like the feeling of hair. That's stupid. You're stupid.

Speaker: Oh, I'm sorry. He's intellectually challenged. It's all right. We have quite a fair share of people here like that. Yeah, just just come right this way. You first off, welcome to Kriara's Rest. My name is Luea.

Speaker: I'm one of the one of the door guards here and as you guys enter you see a very large hallway Paintings all over the walls portraits and landscapes and whatnot

Speaker: You see statue statues depicting the same person It's a feminine figure humanoid with large wings and a very large tail that sort of wraps around her body You see that she is clothed in what seems to be armor of some sort

Speaker: and has quite long flowing hair. And that statue is the same statue, probably spaced about 12 feet apart, about human sized, so nothing too big. And as you're leading, as she is leading you through this hall,

Speaker: you notice that there are a few doors here and there, but they're all closed. So what guild are you guys working for? Are you working for the guild in Velstrix Heights or just across the way? I look over at the others, not really remembering names that well, but I believe it was the Velstrix Heights one. Yeah, it was Velstrix. Yeah, we had hired for Velstrix.

Speaker: We, we were looking for our first mission and, uh, there was a mission to help a person with, uh, hair loss problems. Hmm. Interesting. Okay. And I'm sure the guards gave you plenty of trouble leaving. Yeah. Yeah. We got, we got kind of robbed. Oh, you got robbed. Well, how much did they take? Uh, 40 shelves. Oh.

Speaker: That's not really all that much. Oh, that's even less, but you know, shelves are shelves. Yeah, well, we didn't have a little lot in the first place. We only had the shelves. Oh, that means it's quite a bit. We only have 10 shelves left. Well, that's quite unfortunate. Do you need those back? Oh, well, if we can get these plants back in time.

Speaker: We would probably be able to make some to make back what we lost. Well, surely you know that when you come back into the city, they're going to charge you double. Great. So I assume that you may need, we'll call it a risk -free loan.

Speaker: Cause I can help you out. It's no, it's no biggie. We have plenty, plenty of things here. Plenty of things, uh, very good things, very bad things, but plenty of things. Um, so would, would you like the 60 shelves? Okay. Here you go, little one. And they pull it out of their, uh, their robe and hand it over to a Rasha. Not free. We'll have to pay them back, but, um,

Speaker: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Think, okay. I should have, I should, I should have phrased that better. It's more, more of a gift, a welcome gift almost. Um, you know, we, we, we do our best to welcome and accommodate here because what the work we do is quite important. Uh, when we are a will rise and, uh, everyone should know that she deals in kindness and anyone that does not will perish.

Speaker: Um, looking at the list of God's names, try to remember which one was, uh, K .R. Is it, wait, K .R .C. or, um, no, Kriara. Oh, oh, you, you, no, no, no, no. Yeah. This is, this is not a God. Uh, she's, uh, she's a being, not, not quite a God.

Speaker: But we worship her nonetheless because we know her mission, we know her vision, and we enjoy it. We love it. We love what we do. How many people do you have worshipping this being? Oh, hundreds. Wow. Yeah, it's quite a bit.

Speaker: I have a question out of character, was this like a shack, just like a shack that we found? Or was this like a giant building? This is a very large pyramid temple looking thing with a very large floating sphere on top. Oh. So would it be feasible for hundreds to be in this building? Oh, absolutely.

Speaker: Well then, that's crazy. And we're supposed to take this place down and have a character? That's what the guild said. And this is only level two? It's a grade two. Damn. I think we need Thanos. Oh, I must get you acquainted with our leader.

Speaker: Oh, oh, okay, sure. He loves visitors. It's one of his favorite things. Dora Mir, he's quite the visionary. He does quite a bit of things here and there, and we love to follow him. So let me bring you to him. We'll go to the inner sanctum.

Speaker: And she starts leading you down this hallway that gets slightly smaller and you see a door at the end that's also open and you see a very large room beyond the door. You see quite a few robed individuals all with their hoods on.

Speaker: And in the middle of the room, it goes down quite significantly. And you see a pedestal in the middle of this, like, hole. And you see on top is a very large chair. And you see a very, very large, quite fat man sitting there, also no hair, and sort of the same eyes. But he is very pale.

Speaker: completely unclothed, save for the basically towel draped around his legs. His eyes are a very bright crimson color. Bright and crimson don't really go together, but they're piercing the same. He sees you almost through the door. He says, Oh, oh, oh, visitors haven't had those in quite some time.

Speaker: And she begins to lead you down these steps closer to this chair. And you see everybody kneel as you guys enter. And basically trail you until you reach your destination and they stand up again. So who do I have here to grace us with their presence? I'm Rajka. Raja to meet you.

Speaker: They made me easy, Folsk. As... As I'm about to give my name, something stops me. Like an old habit. That he doesn't realize why it's there. He then, um... Just says, uh... I'm, uh... Tiller.

Speaker: And what about you, Mr. Knight? Alfred. Alfred? Ah, so we have Roshka, Fosk, Tiller, and Alfred. Fantastic! New people do add to our company of bright and happy faces. So what brings you here to Creara's Rest?

Speaker: Well, you see, we took an initial to find some plants for baldness in the city. They didn't give us the most precise of directions and we ended up up here.

Speaker: Oh, wasn't that very nice of them to send you to our little home. I'm assuming you came from Velstrix Heights? That guild there can be quite troublesome. And I'm assuming you didn't actually come out here for plants, did you? We're looking for bald people! Oh, bald people?

Speaker: Ah, then it seems that we fit the bill now, doesn't it? Everyone, remove your hoods. And you see, the hoods are filled with a bunch of bald people. Holy bald, I mean. We found the bald people! What are we supposed to do now?

Speaker: Thanks, Rasha. Hey, look, we have someone who fits in. We'll show a deal on. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Don't touch the helmet. So you came here looking for bald people, you say? I guess. Yes, I guess you could say it's a very baldsy of us. I would say it's quite baldsy of you. I'm assuming they gave you no information as well.

Speaker: And they told you to get rid of us, yes? Yeah, we immediately changed those plans the moment. I can imagine when you met with a force of over 100 and you're very what seemed to be weak individuals, you couldn't probably take over 100 people at once, could you?

Speaker: I'm very strong! You don't know me! Oh! Rashka. Strong, you say? Strong is a potent word. I mean, between you and me, he is Luton. One of the most mightiest creatures in all of the land. I'm sorry? What is a Luton? I've never heard of a Luton. I just thought he was a goblin.

Speaker: Luton, yes, how do you say a complaint? But between you and me, I'm positive. He is the god of the Luton. Oh, we have a god in our midst. Foskel have like this expression on his face and he'll be like mouthing the words no.

Speaker: wrap us right behind Elon so that he doesn't see. At this point, I just pull out a smoking pipe. All right, this is not the first time this has happened and it won't be the last. That's why they keep doing it. So I'm going to give you three options. One, stay here with us. Have a good time.

Speaker: Maybe try not to kill any of us and we'll all be good and we'll let you leave eventually. Two, you could leave right now. Report back and say that either you did finish the job or we were too strong for you. Either way is acceptable. And if you really want to leave and say that you did it, I can give you at least a little bit of a trinket to maybe prove that you did.

Speaker: Now that I can do. Third option. You choose to stay here and try to fight or finagle or haggle. And we, well, we'll just call it a deal with you.

Speaker: There's no need to be hasty, Monomi. Perhaps we can figure this out to where we all come out winners. There's no figuring out. This is the haggling I was talking about. There's either you do one of my three options or I choose four of you. I say we pretend like we got rid of them. That way we get money.

Speaker: They get to stay here. Everybody wins. Yeah, that's a good idea. Yeah, we will say that we got rid of a majority of you. But do you guys possibly have a way to hide this place so that way they would stop sending people after you? We've been doing this for years.

Speaker: We have people come in of different shapes and sizes and strengths. Some fight, some don't. They all, they pretty much always go back. And we always have the same problem. So really, who knows if I let you go, they'll send more. If I don't let you go, they'll send more.

Speaker: And we're not even doing anything. We're just out here, worshipping, having a good time, not harming anyone, and practicing the kindness that we should. Do you have some sort of like ring or maybe petrified finger or maybe something that I could bring as proof that we got rid of you, something of that nature? You could take one of our, uh,

Speaker: One of our coins or one of our, um, marked items, something with our, uh, our, our insignia on it. That works. By any chance for maybe we could get some cloaks and some bodies of the previous people that you, uh, got rid of and show that it's Ruth cause they probably withered away by now.

Speaker: Ah, well, the previous ones are pretty fresh, probably about two weeks old, but we disposed of them pretty quickly. Man, they really want to get rid of you guys if they're sending people out every other week. And we have no idea. We don't know why. All we do is sit here and praise and worship the name of Kryara and hope that one day she will bless us with her kindness as she blessed others.

Speaker: So maybe can you give us an assortment of like robes and coins, like 10 or 15 of them? Oh, that's a lot, but I guess we could do something like that. Like the more the merrier of like broken and like useless versions of your garb, the better. Ah, I see. I see what you mean. Maybe if you could cut your palm, bloody them up a little bit.

Speaker: I would do it myself, but I am a skeleton. Yeah, that sounds a bit much. No, it has to look like we, you know, did the whole fighty thing. Well, you all have palms, don't you? Well, except for one of us. Hmm. I... I... Yes. We can provide the blood, it's fine. Yeah. Um, and then I pull out, uh... From my hand, you see, sprinkle 10 more berries.

Speaker: Uh, we have to get busy doing this, I guess. Alright. Yeah. That sounds pretty good. Would we be able to spend the night here to recover from injuring ourselves? Oh, sure, sure. Go ahead. My home is your home as anyone else's home. Alright, so...

Speaker: I guess we get started after they give us the stuff. Arashka is going to walk up the door a minute. Okay. Holding up both hands in a cupped motion, he hands over or at least presents the shelves that he received as he entered Kriora's Rest. And he says,

Speaker: He leans down, takes it and says, ah, see, you speak my language.

Speaker: We will escort you to a nice room for you all to spend the night in. We'll bring you your robes, even a dagger to dirty your palms with, and a few coins and maybe other broken artifacts and whatnot. I am curious about one thing. Yes. Is this like the demon thing?

Speaker: The demon thing? What demon thing are you speaking of? Are you a demon? What is that thing you said you worship? Is that a demon? Ah, yes, Kriara. She is a demon. Yes, yes, yes, precisely. Because they told us that demons are bad, but I've only met good demons so far.

Speaker: Yes, that's actually a very common thing. Everyone is quick to just dismiss demons and say that they are awful and terrible and evil. And although many of them are, not all of them are. Kreia is the mother of kindness. She's wonderful and beautiful and perfect in almost every way. She left the two librarians and the one in the guild because they were pretty. They were really pretty. Aww.

Speaker: Oh, little goblin has a crush on some demons. Yes. I've seen some goblin demon hybrids in my day, but it doesn't always work out. They get a bit too crazy. I don't get it. It's OK. You will in due time. Oh, is that like the stork thing?

Speaker: Yes, if you keep practicing that, then absolutely. I don't get it. You will. You will, dear Roshka. So I will allow them to escort you to your room, and I hope this is the last time I see you. At least on these terms, anyways.

Speaker: Same to you. Perfect. All right. And you see him lean back against his chair and close his eyes. And the person that led you in returns to their station, walks away from you and you see a much smaller hooded figure. All right, I'll take you to your room. Just follow me. And he starts walking.

Speaker: Um, I look around the area and try to file. Just want to see what I see around. Okay. Uh, you see a lot of paintings, a lot of statues, just like in the hallway. They're much larger in here since the room is huge. Uh, and you also see stacks of like books and coins and artifacts, just random things strewn about. Basically like if you were to walk into a dragon's hoard, it's almost the same.

Speaker: Why don't these people have merch? They're just that good. We're out here getting robbed. That's like a toll booth. They out here having branded merch.

Speaker: So they lead you down another hallway and they open a quite large door in the side of the wall. And you see a very spacious and lavish bedroom with three different beds in it. Carpet and pillows all over the place, more paintings. And you said the figure says, they'll feed you in a little while, but don't wait on it. Could be quite some time.

Speaker: But, uh, they'll bring the stuff and the food at the same time. So just, uh, yeah, make yourselves a home. Um, yeah. Okay. Bye. And he closes the door. I finally let loose my breath. Uh, unclench my muscles, my jaw. Uh, Fosca is immediately gonna open the door. Not a hole, like not very wide, just a crack.

Speaker: As you open the door, you see a hallway. Okay. Sorry, doors closing behind me makes me really paranoid. Just, you know, look. Doors, they lock, they don't lock from the inside, they lock from the outside. I don't know, doors are weird. We didn't have doors back home. Well, that's fair.

Speaker: Yeah, well, one door opens, another door closes. I just wanted to make sure this wasn't one that was closing. Fascals say, returning to the group. And also, I like to hear approaching footsteps. These people are so nice! Suddenly, you hear a... Psst! Psst! Over here! Under the big bed! Psst! Oh. Bye.

Speaker: Okay. If possible, approach the bed. And crouch down to mute whoever's under there. You don't really see anything. And then it drops down from under the bed. And you see a very small cat -like person. Oh. I don't know.

Speaker: Are they still in here? No, the door is open a little bit, though. You're going to kill them, right? There's no possible way. That's what you came for, right? It's not possible. That's what I came for, and I'm trapped here. At first, we came to kill them, but then we actually saw them. And they told us they were hundreds.

Speaker: So unless there's less than hundreds, maybe if there's less than 20, uh, I think that's the only way we can try to get them. You said you're trapped here. Yeah, I'm trapped here. How are you trapped here? Uh, well, um, you know, the, the guild party that was sent two weeks ago. Yes. That's me.

Speaker: Oh. And my buddies. But they're all gone now. Okay. And you can't leave, I'm guessing, because you tried to kill them.

Speaker: Yeah, we killed a couple and then they killed a couple and then we killed a few more and then they killed the rest of my party and I ran but the only place I could find that was open Easily is this one and now I'm hiding and I've been hiding ever since and they kind of gave up on me Probably about a week ago Okay, and about how big is this person? Two feet at the tallest Couldn't be couldn't be over 50 pounds

Speaker: Okay. Well, why did you think to fight this many people? Well, we just needed money and we needed to do the job and they seemed really, really sketchy. So we didn't trust anything they said. So we just went ahead and did it because maybe they could be illusions or something. They're not, they're not all real. Well, they were.

Speaker: Um, however, I've done some exploring around their sleep time. Uh, I've killed a few. If, if I had more people to do it, we could probably kill quite a few while they're sleeping. Yeah. Quite a few before they kill us.

Speaker: No, no, no, no. They have a very large common sleeping chamber and only one person stands guard. Everyone else falls dead asleep. That's just the way these people operate. They just go to sleep because they trust everyone. That's crazy. Who does that? I keep myself up sometimes because I don't trust myself. That's crazy. So what you're saying is we kill the guard and then

Speaker: Set the entire place on fire and make it so we can kick it out? This place won't catch on fire, but you could one by one go and like end each one of their lives very slowly and painfully. You're so crazy. Well, they killed my whole party. So I do, uh, these are my friends for many years. I can be a little salty about it. Yeah. Yeah. I deserve a little bit of anger, right? Right.

Speaker: Yeah, but what if we wake them while we're killing the others? Well, you did say that they are pretty dumb. Well, I did figure it out. I have a sleeping cloth and he pulls out a very small piece of fabric. So you put this over their mouths and then you stab their head and they're done. Nice and quiet. Never even here. Like I said, I've done this a few times. I just haven't been able to do a lot because I'm only one person.

Speaker: Are these people in some ice? Um, well, they're nice. And until they start torturing and raping and pillaging and all that jazz, uh, you know, and it'd be in menaces that worship demons because demons are also quite bad. Um, I look, I, I, I look at, uh, Rashka.

Speaker: And then I look at the knife and the sleeping rag that he's holding out. I then look at the others and then I'm just like mentally that I don't think that this would be hard to do normally. And also not wanting to like scar Roshka this early. We set this person on Roshka duty.

Speaker: I don't know at this point. We can't get back into town even if we wanted to.

Speaker: And we do need the shelves, so maybe we eventually just kill them. Now, I think there would need to be something done to make sure that this goes successfully. So you're in, right? If you have a way to distract him,

Speaker: in the time that it would take. And then when I say him, I'm pointing at Roshka. If you could keep him distracted for at least that amount of time plus one hour, I would be in it to win it. Perfect. Okay. Wonderful. I think I can manage.

Speaker: Let me get out from under this bed really fast. And he comes out of the bed. And while he looked two feet under the bed, you see that he's actually quite a bit taller and is growing. And he stands about six foot one now. And then he starts to get quite a bit larger.

Speaker: and larger and larger until the clothes begin to no longer fit to the form. And you see very, very pasty white skin. How are you doing with that? What? And then you see his head morph into that of Dormir. Great, great. You felt fair trick. Love it.

Speaker: Yeah. And with that, we will end the session here.

Speaker: Thank you for listening to this episode of the Salambia Saga podcast. I'm your DM, Anthony, and would like to remind you that we are novice podcasters with very novice editing skills, and are doing this for both your and our enjoyment. This means that the end product could be just a little rough. I would like to once again thank you for all of your time, and we'll see you next time. Bye -bye.
