Speaker: The Salambia saga is a story -driven, action -packed, fun -filled D &D podcast. I'm your DM, Anthony, and today we're joined by Lucas, playing Roshka. Larry, playing Tiller B. Willer. Hello, everybody. I'm Tiller B. Willer. Good luck with the session. Robin, playing Phos.
Speaker: Yeah, hello, is this thing on? Can you hear me beep beep beep beep beep? Nope, okay, well. And Amy, playing M .B. Hello, this is your friendly neighborhood demon, checking in.
Speaker: Alright, so where we last left off, you guys had just turned in your quest for, quote, dealing with the Cult of Creara. You got your shelves, divided them the way that you needed to, and currently you're still sitting in the guild, I guess, headquarters. As of right now,
Speaker: You're all kind of sitting in there. The air around you is a little heavy, you know, filled with laughter, but also just stench of a bunch of smelly adventurers and alcoholics in one place.
Speaker: But it comes down to the finer things. And you all begin to pick up on a much different smell. And it seems like everybody in the room is picking up on it as well. It's this sour and pungent stench. Just under the notes of all of that.
Speaker: You see quite a few people in the room start to, you know, close their nose because it really does hit you pretty hard all of a sudden. And the door opens. And at the threshold of this door steps over a decomposing
Speaker: person. Not sure if it's man, woman, child. It's about four foot eight. Not too tall. And virtually no skin or flesh is on these bones, but enough to know that it's been sitting there for a while. Why it's walking? Not sure. As it finally passes over the threshold and out of the
Speaker: the door, you know, the blockage of the door, you can see these bright piercing purple eyes that float in the crevices and the holes where the eyes should be. And you see as the adventurers and staff closest to this door begin to just drop, fall over.
Speaker: could be passing out, could be another reason, could be more nefarious, who knows? I'll give you just a minute to react to that. Which one of you is the tallest and or the widest so that Roshka can hide behind you? So, Fosk is a very lanky boy.
Speaker: So he's not very wide, but he is rather tall. Twinkie. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Very, very Twinkie. Very Twinkie. Yeah, I'm 5 '11". So average. That is not average. That is rather tall. That is quite tall. 5 '11". Yeah, I'm 5 '11". That's average. Okay.
Speaker: Roscoe is small. Roscoe is very small. Dio -on is a pile of bones currently, so good luck with that one. Oh, boy. It's either Tiller or Enby. They can't wait to - Seeing that this vaguely decomposing entity
Speaker: Smells like home, anyway. Do you recognize any one or any familiar curse effects or any that have been touched by a demon lord effect? Anything like that? Go ahead and roll, we'll just do insight for that one.
Speaker: Let's do insight familiar to you. It is not demon, but it does seem familiar. I have a pretty big bonus for insight. Let's see. It's a 20 knot. It's a dirty 20. Okay. Yeah.
Speaker: You do notice that some demonic energy has touched this creature, this person, whether that is in the form of a curse, whether that is in the form of combat. You know, you're not entirely sure, but you know that this one has been touched by something in some way, form or fashion.
Speaker: You also do notice that it's very hard, and if you weren't accustomed to it, you would not have noticed. But on its right hand is the insignia for old spectra.
Speaker: I kind of try to whisper to the group. I would recommend slowly but surely you kind of position yourselves behind me. I will agree with your assumptions and I will give you some a blessing Ralifil as I cast guidance on MB.
Speaker: Cool, awesome. Okay, so returning to the scene, you see this decomposing skeletal creature begin to keep walking through this middle of the room, following that carpet towards the front desk. And you see everybody around, and as it gets closer, there are more and more people that are just dropping.
Speaker: About midway through the room, you know, about 30 feet or so, everything just stops. The air around you seems to halt. Some people are stopped, you know, mid -fall. Everyone's expressions are kind of frozen on their face, and the skeleton creature kind of looks at you guys.
Speaker: And in very, very clear wording says, I have come for you. And he takes that right hand and points it at Imbi as it is the first person in the group. And you see very quickly,
Speaker: a purple light come from the singer and then shoot in a very large beam towards you.
Speaker: Given your strength, you are the only one that will have to make a check here. And it's not a save because it's not quite what that is. Just give me a Wisdom check for me. Wisdom check. All right. Could they add the guidance that I gave? Yes. Oh, with the guidance? The guidance can be used. 25. If you wish to use it. 25? Awesome. Okay. That works. That works.
Speaker: Okay, so you see, well, you three see this bolt just cover in the smash into her, right? And then the light dissipates. And she's fine standing there like nothing happened.
Speaker: If this is your way of introducing yourself, this is very rude. I'm sorry, let me say this again, because my throat just gave away. Take two. Take two. Take two. If this is your way of introducing yourself, that was very rude. Do I understand what he tried to do to me?
Speaker: Did he try to disintegrate me or something? He did indeed. He tried to get rid of all of you. Interesting. At this point, Roshka is just grabbing onto the clothes and quite terrified, just tries to hide as much as possible within the clothing of the nearest of our group. Just quietly sobbing to himself. He's not present.
Speaker: I think we have ourselves in the situation. Would I be able to tell what type of energy that was affected at MB? Based off of pure observation. You can roll Arcana if you'd like. I'll let. All right. Dirty 20.
Speaker: Okay, tasty. I'll give it to you because given context and now I mean, you guys kind of know ish what MP is. And you know that color kind of this this is this is demonic magic. It's it's not anything specific that you're aware of, but you know, it has very
Speaker: malevolent roots. It's quite evil. I just kind of like wiped my brows and glad we had them be on our side. Me? What happened? I think the safest thing for you guys to do is leave because this creature seems to have unfinished business with me. And seeing as it's sent by my one and true and always eternal devoted leader,
Speaker: All spectra, if you can hear me. Um, I'm not entirely sure what it wants from me, but it doesn't seem to be very easy to converse with. Um, that being said, I need all of you to make a wisdom saving throw. Not, not, not you, but everyone else needs to make a wisdom saving throw. It's not a check this time. It is a saving throw. So use your bonuses if you got it.
Speaker: I got 14. Okay. That would be, that didn't sound good. That's a five. I got a 16. Wait, the 16. I love the hyperventilating that happened before the five. That was fantastic. Yeah. And, uh, okay. So.
Speaker: The the air kind of brightens around you as this is his form kind of shimmers You know it gets a little wavy kind of looks like he may even be some type of like simulacrum hologram type thing And you see the walls around you Just disintegrate
Speaker: just turn into dust and fly off. As you notice, the night sky is not so dark.
Speaker: So, anyone that made less than a 15, so that would be you, Fosk, and you, Roshka. I need you guys to go ahead and take, it's gonna be 2d4 psychic damage, so not too much, but it can be a lot adding up. So we'll find out what that is really fast. And that is five points of psychic damage.
Speaker: So the simulacrum disappears, so no longer there. The people around you, anyone that was standing, is now on the ground. It seems like time has continued.
Speaker: unfrozen, and you notice that there are almost no buildings around you. You see where wood was when you were walking through the town and looking at everything? Where you saw wood. Wood is no longer.
Speaker: Where you see stone, it is crumbled and battered and beaten. The sky itself, instead of being a nice pitch, midnight black, it's got a very faint pink hue to it.
Speaker: the lights that are keeping this place lit have been extinguished but the sky itself is so very bright that it's not really necessary right now and you see you see the moon every once in a while but only every once in a while today or tonight even you notice that this is a much larger
Speaker: And it has this nice shiny purple color just radiating down onto the ground and, you know, around you as you're inspecting the buildings and the roads that have now cracked and crumbled as well. You notice people outside are also on the ground.
Speaker: You also don't notice Dilan's bones to be anywhere around you. You find that a noise begins to emanate from the distance and it seems like some kind of chanting, hooting and hollering, cheering maybe.
Speaker: And, uh, you all notice that it's getting just a bit louder, but I'll let you guys come to terms with your surroundings before I go on. So stop playing a joke. Get up, get out here now. Where are you? Uh, Foskel had his hands like clasping each other over his mouth as he was looking around in horror. Oh, my stars.
Speaker: Um, could I go over to like one of the nearest bodies while keeping my eyes on this creature? Yes. However, the creature is no longer there. It was some kind of sin simulacrum simulacrum hologram type thing. And it shimmered and then dissipated. Then at this point, I would run over and could I attempt to cast guidance on myself so I can
Speaker: My intention is to check over one of these bodies to see if they're alive, dead, like their current medical state. I mean, you can use guidance if you want, but just, yeah, I mean, just checking isn't going to be all that hard. Yeah. So, but yeah, go ahead and roll. I guess medicine. All right. Medicine. And then, sorry, I'm just trying to make sure, uh,
Speaker: I'm in the wrong chat. I'm seeing the. 19. With a 19, you know that this body is dead. I kind of like back away is like scramble away from the body. I think they're all dead. Oh, no, no, no.
Speaker: At this remark, Roshka is gonna... If Embi will allow it, Roshka is gonna wanna try to hug your leg and say... Please, please don't leave me here! Please don't leave me here! Embi will not react to that much because...
Speaker: I am mesmerized, unmoving, unspeaking, looking at the bright sky and trying to remember when was the last time I saw this color. Probably when bad things were happening and maybe potentially I was causing them. So I'm both filled with dread and awe.
Speaker: To say the very least, this doesn't look like entirely something you would do. It is a bit different than what you have a history with. Now, outside of that, the energy is the same, exactly the same.
Speaker: So while it's not quite the way you would do something, the intention is there. Uh -oh. Eh... Huh. Huh? M -B? Yes? Uh, what are you thinking?
Speaker: Welcome to my past, I think. Excuse me? I think. I'm not entirely sure. I'm scanning the area to understand what is happening. Sorry for making the assumption, but what is going on, Enby? I don't know. Honestly, I don't know.
Speaker: I think that creature wanted to kill me. I didn't die. So he decided, I'll kill everyone else then. And yeah. Hey, does anyone notice that sounds getting louder? Can someone kick me?
Speaker: Let me get my friend to check it out as I would attempt to summon my wildfire companion. Your wildfire companion. Does it take the use of the feature? It does. Tell her you seem confused at what
Speaker: What are you trying to do? Well, I can't summon my friend. Something's stopping me. I try to cast... I pull out my staff to see if it affects any of my other magic, and I try to cast Shalalith. So your staff shimmers.
Speaker: with the same, you know, kind of light and then dissipates. I will pick up Roshka and like, you know, on my arm. I will not leave you, but we should get off where we are and hide preferably on higher ground. So as you say that the
Speaker: The noises that have been getting louder this entire time get much louder and then you notice running down the streets are all manner of size and strength and type. Just the same kind of
Speaker: thing that you're very familiar with, Envy, is just demons parading the streets. And you notice in the sky that some are flying around and giggling and laughing, cheering, having a wonderful time. And they are coming down the road directly towards you. Doesn't seem like there's intent quite yet, but that is as it stands.
Speaker: Yeah, we need to hide, like, quickly. Yes, yes. Where are we to hide? There's everything that's been destroyed. We're on a flat land. Just someone kick me. My Nana said that if you had a bad dream, there's so much to kick you because then you wake up. Roshka, I promise I will kick you when we're out of here. Yes.
Speaker: Irajka is going to try to start kicking himself, which is kind of difficult with me holding him. Ow, ow! You're kicking me, Irajka, please don't. Don't worry, I'm going to fix everything. Yeah, all of those things that are coming towards us, those are demons. Just, you know, throwing that out there.
Speaker: I kind of like the idea of going the opposite way of them right now. Or sideways. I don't want to go straight ahead because there's a parade going on. I'm not entirely sure what they're celebrating. I have an idea. I don't want the idea to be true. So I think we should like go diagonally away from them right now. All right. Alaska is going to get a move on. Go ahead and make a dexterity saving for all of you.
Speaker: Should I make mine with anything else because I'm in the arms of Envy at the moment? You don't make one. That would be a natural 27. A natural 27, that's great. That will be a 16 for me. Do I have a difficulty? A natural 20 plus seven? Yeah, a natural 20 plus seven. Do I have a difficulty because of Roshka? No. Okay. I got a 21.
Speaker: 19 plus 2. So 27, 21, 16. Yeah. So you two are going to pass. And the you are going to barely pass.
Speaker: Oh, okay. It's always really fun to do that. I was about to draw a brush. As you all make the make make the decision to walk the other direction, which is quite smart, mind you. You turn around and the ground begins to shake
Speaker: Oh no, oh no. You hear thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud. And you get the vision coming around the corner of this block of buildings. A very, very large demon, quite padded in most places, probably stands about eight, nine feet tall.
Speaker: eyes dead set on you, and it charges directly into you. And all of you manage to dodge out of the way, however, Roshka, you do come out of, uh, Embi's hands, uh, and you will roll to the ground, uh, being the closest to the large demon that has now turned around and is facing you. Oh no.
Speaker: It's going to raise its hand and bring it down on you, Arashka. Arashka? Am I near? That is a 19 to hit, correct? Yeah, that is. Okay. Yeah. It's going to do seven points of bludgeoning damage.
Speaker: And you see as two flying demons and three other demons of various size Join the fray and now all of you need to roll initiative
Speaker: Oh, before anything else, because before I forget, would demons be considered persons or monsters? In this context, they would be considered persons because it's just technically another species of people. Okay. Well, I hope our spells work because every spell I've used has not worked so far.
Speaker: Yeah, that doesn't seem very good for me either. Okay, I'm going to ask you your initiatives just in order. So we'll just go ahead and do Roshka. I rolled an eight.
Speaker: 20. That's the modifiers as well. Yeah, that's a 5 plus 3. Oh, shoot. OK. Tiller. 12. Fosk. That'd be an 8. Oh, god. Embi? 22. Oh, OK. Oh, OK. That was more than all of us combined. Yeah, that's not necessarily a good thing.
Speaker: I'm a, I'm a friendly neighborhood demon. That guy's almost dead. There's no neighborhood though. Like there really is no neighborhood anymore. And I'm trying to understand cause I have no knowledge right now. Is this,
Speaker: Are we in the demon realm? Are we back in time? Are we forward in time? What is happening time -wise? Any kind of hint? As of right now, everything is normal in and of the fact that something is altering either this place or the world.
Speaker: But I do need, uh, Roshka and Fosk to roll again. I have a three -way tiebreaker. Okay. I got a seven. All right, that's the order. Which does make sense. Roshka's a bit of a pancake at the moment. Yeah, it doesn't. All right, so.
Speaker: first one to kick this off is going to be the large demon. And you see him open his mouth and a bright pink ball begins to grow and shoots out and that's going to be at you, Fosk. That is a dexterity save from you, please. Oh, that's a 21. That saves. You're going to take half damage. Oh, thank goodness.
Speaker: That will be six points of fire damage. So that'll bring us to Ambie. Great. Can you set up the scene for me a little bit? All right.
Speaker: Pretty much directly in front of you, I'd give it about 15 feet. There is the large demon. The one that charged into you. About 5 -10 feet behind him are the three smaller demons that kind of walked up. And then above them, about 15 feet in the air, are the two flying demons. Okay.
Speaker: And they all look angry, but also happy at the same time. Angry and happy at the same time. I don't recognize a big demon in any way, correct? Roll a history check for me. History... History. 18. You do remember this guy. I do. Not this one specifically, but this type of guy.
Speaker: uh -huh you know where do I remember him from most people call these indicators well at least the people in your past that were not demons because they always indicated the presence of a very strong demonic force whether it be an assault
Speaker: whether it just be magic and destruction and whatnot. There's always one of them or more of them, depending on the scale. Wait a second. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Is this a parade after a fight that I've had? Uh -oh. Do I recognize this as like my victory lap, basically?
Speaker: You do recognize this as some sort of celebration. Well, I knew that much. As long as it has nothing to do with me, I'm fine. It has nothing to do with you currently, no. Excellent. Fantastic. And there's nowhere to hide behind, right? No, absolutely not. Right. I will do my best and attempt to dominate this creature.
Speaker: This big, big demon ahead of me. That's it. That's all I can do. There has to succeed on a wisdom saving throw or be charmed by me for the duration. That is a natural one. Ah, beautiful.
Speaker: I do have a telepathic link with it. We're in the same plane of existence right now. The command that I issue is stop those two and I point to the ones flying from attacking or interfering with us. I turn to the others and say, try to run away as fast as you can.
Speaker: Okay. You got it. All right, so the demon nods its head and then the flying demons are going to take their turn. They're going to
Speaker: come right at you guys. However, following instructions, he's going to use his reaction to try and stop them. So let's see if he can stop both of them. We have a bit of a bodyguard now, but a little bit of one. Yeah, it's a little bodyguard because he missed both of them. Oh, great. How happy. He tried.
Speaker: Okay. So, um, the one on the left of you all is going to come at you, Embi. Oh, great. That is, do they have to like pass by any of us to get to the other members? Like, where are we situated versus like, you're all behind Embi. Yeah. I remember telling you, get behind me. So Embi is the first person in line. However, you guys are a little spread out because you got charged into.
Speaker: and to dodge. So you're all within five feet of each other. And then Roshka is 15 feet away from us. Yeah, about. OK. And currently prone. All right. That is going to be an 18 to hit in the. Oh, yeah. That is. OK. Hmm.
Speaker: That is going to be six slashing damage. And since it's coming from a demonic force, you can go ahead and take half of that, so three. All right. And then the other one is going to swoop at Fosk, who is the next closest. Squeal. Squeal. That is a non -natural 20. Yeah, that hits.
Speaker: And for you, that is only two slashing. Ah, oh my god. You're pretty close, aren't you? Yeah. OK.
Speaker: So first demon swoops in and takes a light little slash in the... Doesn't really do much. Second demon swoops in closer to Fosk, uses his bottom talons to go ahead and try to snatch at Fosk. Doesn't really do much, however, in Fosk's weakened state.
Speaker: It doesn't dodge great. So it nicks him in the neck, causing a little bit extra bleeding to happen than would normally. Get away from me. OK, and that's all they can do. So that brings us to Tiller Bewiller. Right. So I would go around and next to Roshka.
Speaker: Um, and then you try and use my base step ability, uh, to teleport us 30 feet, like in the direction that we were going towards. So that way I can get Roshka from away from the creatures that are, you said 10 feet behind the big deep. So we'll be about 40 feet away from those. Okay.
Speaker: if my ability works. All right. And how would that present itself? I would put my hand on Roshka and I would try and warp myself into a different direction. You'd probably see spring leaves around me.
Speaker: Okay. So as, as the leaves kind of fall around you, uh, you, you feel something try to get through and then you're sitting there same place. Yep. Uh, then I'm just going to use my action to, uh, dash away instead. Can't really do anything else.
Speaker: Before you leave Tiller, take this. It's my most practical position. I hold out a big cast iron. I'll take it. Sorry, buddy. As I run 45 feet away.
Speaker: trying to see if there's anything else I can do, but can't. Right. OK. That'll bring us to the demons behind the large one. They're going to watch their way yet. Sorry. Yes. Yeah, they were the first turn in combat. Oh, yeah. They talked fast.
Speaker: Yeah, the beam. They're going to walk around uninhibited. The first one is going to stop at you, Roshka. And you are prone. So this is an advantage. He's going to take his claws and dig into your flesh. And that is going to be a 16 to hit. 16 hits.
Speaker: and that is seven slashing damage ruschka will fall unconscious before he does so he will say i curse you to never taste good food again ruschka
Speaker: So as you see the demon walk up, and very giddily makes a small little, chortling noise, digs his claws into Roshka's flesh, kind of tearing pieces of it out as Roshka does fall limp. The second demon is going to come to the closest member outside of that, Imbi, and he is going to slash at you.
Speaker: That is A4, so that's a miss. And the third demon is going to stay within your range, but attack Fosk. Scream. And that is a 17. Fuck, that hits. And that is also 7 slashing damage. Yep, I'm out. Unconscious for Fosk, bleesh. So you all notice
Speaker: Once again, this demon very happily takes a swipe, and a Fosk ripping flesh out, and Fosk as well falls limp. And so we're going to skip Fosk's turn, go straight into... Oh, well. Yeah. Go ahead and roll death saves, never mind.
Speaker: Do we save? Did we fail? That would be a fail for Fosk. Fail for Fosk. OK, and Roshka, do the same.
Speaker: okay I'm very good at playing it alive 16 that's a success awesome so we have one fail one success cool that brings us back up to the large demon so it's going to
Speaker: step over Roshka's unconscious body, walk over and look over Kimbi, and we'll move kind of to her side, straight past her, and attack you, Tiller. Wait, I'm 30 feet away. And they've dominated him. They told him not to
Speaker: doing anything to us to keep, I should be at least 40 feet away from this guy as well. So your, your, Oh, you were closer. Weren't you? I went up 15 feet. Yeah. I went up 15 feet, uh, towards Rashka trying to not be near the demon because he was charmed. Then I tried using my ability and then I dashed, which was 15 or some should be 45 feet away.
Speaker: And yeah, he did break free of the charm. Ah, okay. Um, so he's going to move his full movement then straight past you. That is an attack of opportunity if you would like. Oh yeah. There's not much I can do, but I do have some, um, I'm sorry.
Speaker: this. One of us does. Okay, I'll just do a little bit of a fireball to him. Okay. And roll 2d10. He's right here. 2d10. Let's see. 10 total.
Speaker: Okay, firebolt hits him, keeps walking, no problem. He's going to go ahead and attack you, Tiller. He has a 45 -foot movement speed, damn it. He's got a little more than that, but that doesn't beat. Scream. Oh, God. I told you, I told you guys, the natural 20 doesn't leave.
Speaker: That is a natural 20. I have a feeling what I need to do right here and I hate it. Use my cast iron! Uh, that is... Ooh wee buddy. Alright, that is going to be 17 points of bludgeoning damage. It'd be, would it be?
Speaker: Are you still up? Yep. Oh, nice. A healthy boy. A healthy boy over here. Hey, first of all, get out of my head. Only one of us can say healthy boy. Sorry, sorry. So I have to roll one more thing before it is your turn, Envy, and this might save you. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: from using. Okay. Okay. We're in. We're within. We made it. Okay. So in the, you feel it first. Yeah. You, you feel much lighter all of the sudden. And you see at, at your, at your feet, a blue circle kind of opens up.
Speaker: Tiller, you see it next, that same blue circle opening up under your feet, you feel lighter. And then you both see under Roshka and Phos' unconscious bodies, you also see a blue circle, you know, open up and their bodies kind of lift up a bit.
Speaker: And in just a few moments, you see a bright blue flash in your vision. And, Tiller, you recognize this room. You recognize this as the same chamber you were brought to before with this small little pyre in the middle.
Speaker: As things change, they still remain the same, as I see who is around us now, who made it. You notice everyone made it. Fosk and Roshka, you are now conscious with one hit point, and you are standing in this room. Still bloody, still in pain. However, you are alive and conscious. Damn it.
Speaker: I like the distress. I told you, if I just kicked myself, we would wake up. We're not an initiative anymore, right? No, no longer. All right. Can I use my mantle of inspiration even though it's a bonus action?
Speaker: Yeah, that's fine. All right. I will, I will open my arms and hold my palms up and say, I, I'm not sure what happened, but we all made it out. We are all, I'm all very proud of what we did. And I think we can tackle everything.
Speaker: that comes our way. And I want to grant everyone 11 temporary hit points. Oh, yum. Awesome. Okay. As you do, you see Roshka sprinting at a full sprint towards you jumping in a hugging manner. I will catch you.
Speaker: So a site that you three are familiar with. You notice in the middle of this room, once again sitting on this little pyre, the pillar thing, a blue light begins to flash and you see the same figure of Serestia form.
Speaker: You know this person very well. Joy. You have had many a fight with with Serestia. Oh, lovely. Many, many a fight with Serestia, you know, the goddess of the sun, you know, lights and all that jazz. I hide behind Roshka. And she looks directly at you, Envy, and speaks.
Speaker: Your journey over the past millennia is coming closer to a close than you understand. However, I'm glad to see that your attitude has changed.
Speaker: I would not like you to use last resorts, and so I found a way to get to you all before the end was here. Seems I made it just in time. Now, I must show you what is going on.
Speaker: And you see her form kind of dissipate, and this bright blue light turns into more of a multicolored, and you see the picture of something. It's in a field, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. And there is a large structure.
Speaker: You can see it probably stands many stories tall and as many stories wide. Very circular structure, many different sharp rocks, you know, just crags and other boulders and whatnot scattered around its base. And you can see this thing is pulsing.
Speaker: with just this purple energy. It seems like it has kind of veins that lead from the base to the top and it's just pulsing with this energy and at the very top you see a very bright pink light kind of pulsing as well. And she goes, this is the change that this world should not be seeing right now.
Speaker: This situation has become much more dire. The demons are bringing their world to this one, upsetting the entire balance of the realms. Things are going to be much more difficult from here.
Speaker: And you watch as this energy at the top of the structure grows larger and larger, and then it shoots up into the sky. And you see this dark sky that turned to this pinkish hue turn into a very bright pink as almost
Speaker: The prettiest of sunsets would look, except it's much more, uh, evil. And you notice, the moon disappear out of the picture.
Speaker: And the ground at the base of this structure begins to spread into a dark, just gray and black, almost like it's burning, but there's no fire. And you see it begin to spread out. It just makes a larger and larger circle. And these pink veins kind of pulse throughout the ground as well. And you notice
Speaker: It slows in its expansion and begins to twist and turn, undulate. And in an instant, the ground turns into this purple mist and out pop
Speaker: many demons, all shapes, all sizes, flying, walking, crawling, slithering. And you can even tell just by what has happened here. This is essentially a portal that has been opened to the demon world.
Speaker: And you notice for the first time, now that this light has died down from the top, the sky is still this bright pink, but you notice a figure, M .B. You know this as Old Spectra. Okay.
Speaker: You three have no idea who this person is, but you notice it's a fairly attractive demon woman. Very flowing dress. It's just black with nice purple accents to it. Did I look at the reactions to my
Speaker: Uh, other party members at this woman. Yeah. Would that be like an insight check? No, you can just look at him. You guys can just tell me how you're responding. Cause I'm really scared. I don't like the demons. They, they were scary when they attacked us. And this is a lot of demons.
Speaker: So, Fosk looks utterly horrified. He's got his hands like clasped over his mouth and he even seems like he might be crying a bit. His eyes are all glassy. But he is not saying anything. He's just kind of looking in object horror.
Speaker: I don't know if I like attractive women anymore, cause even though people die every time. Gosh, it is now terrified of femme fatales. So Serestia speaks one more time. What was that? I would just say. I didn't, um,
Speaker: didn't register how I look and I look so tired like I usually look again very very very beautiful when though I may have to like ugly myself now so I can skip hugging me but it's like I look like a very beautiful woman that hasn't slept in a couple of eons and is very very tired just like looking at this I'm like
Speaker: I'm internally face -palming and just have given up at this point. That's so valid, Ambi. The prevalent face that Ambi is wearing right now is one of, I don't want to be here anymore. We have had this discussion. But yeah, I want to know what Tiller looks like when all of this is happening too.
Speaker: I'm just confused and just wondering who is this? What is going on? At least we're safe now. Kind of dejected that I left Roshka to die. But I'm just still holding on to this like ladle. Like we're. The cast iron skillet. Yeah, the cast iron skillet.
Speaker: So, yeah, I, I audibly just say, who is this? I, I don't even know, like, I'm just glad I'm saving this point. And then I look around for D 'alon to see if he's like a pile of bones, at least. You don't see the pile of bones. It's mixed in with all the other bones. Well, I'll find a D 'alon in a bone stack later. No, you're pretty good at that.
Speaker: So, uh, she responds, This is the woman that I spoke to you about in the beginning, Ol' Spectra. She's creating what is the end of the world, and really this plane. They've been seeking to destroy this for
Speaker: eons and now they may. And as she says that, the ground begins to shake under you. Her picture begins to die out a little and her voice becomes cracked.
Speaker: And you hear in bits and pieces, I'm power away. Good. And the image stops. Oh, my stars. She's power away good. Oh no. What is going on? Oh, we're so dead.
Speaker: Oh, but she said she's power away. Good. I think that's fine. I think she was saying goodbye. Um, she ran out of power or something's disruptive just in case. So last time I saw her, she was, she had cut off part of my arm and I had sliced off part of her face. So she looking better than I left her. Oh, you do have two arms. I think she does have two ears.
Speaker: Yeah. So maybe you just dreamt that and be a lot of strange things happening. Where are we now? Are we still in the room with the pyre? Yeah, you're still, you're still in the room. However, it is shaking and breaking. I think we would start trying to run out. There's no doors. I'm pretty sure we're going to be teleported somewhere. So hold on tight.
Speaker: No, no, I got this. Let me down and be I can I can dig a door. I know. At this point, I just like lay on the ground. I'm not letting Roshka on the ground. I'm holding him as far away from the ground as possible. Let me go. You're adorable. After noticing like no way out, I just like hold on to the cast iron skillet and just lay down at this point.
Speaker: Shaking gets more violent. The walls begin to crumble and the roof falls. In the last couple of seconds, it falls and nothing happens. It just falls.
Speaker: So I need you all to make one final dexterity save. Wait, am I still? Oh, I'm holding Roshka again, aren't I? You didn't let me go. I didn't let you go. That is true. That's my fault. Okay. Wow. Uh, cause I said I was prone, I rolled it at disadvantage. I got a 19.
Speaker: Oh, wow. Lucky ass. I rolled a nine. So I kind of acrobatic split myself away from the rumble, I guess. Just rolling back and forth between. So. Great things are happening here. And by great things, I mean, I'm fucking lying. I got a net one.
Speaker: With my modifier, that would be an eight. MB, what did we get? I don't even want to say. It's more than one, less than five. I should have one. I mean, a four. I rolled a four. I was going to guess a three. No. This is great. The only person that doesn't take full damage is going to be... Just a second, sir.
Speaker: Holding holding on holding on I Will roll my lucky. I have lucky as a as a feet, right? I will roll again. Okay I rolled a 19. I will keep the 19. Thank you very much Roger that you're going to take half as well Rasha will take half as well. Does it do more than two damage minimum?
Speaker: It does a lot more than do damage. All right, then I'm out. No, hit points. Oh, yeah. I'm going to give you all 11 temporary hit points. So I'm not sure how long solid stone falls onto all of you. Oh, no manner of dodging is going to save you.
Speaker: I rolled a nice little for falling damage in addition to gravity and whatnot a whopping 68 points of damage So those of you that you know passed that's going to be What 34 Yeah, so 34 points of damage
Speaker: If you have a resistant to that kind of attack, what more do you get? Because I do. What kind of attack are you resistant to? It's like resistant to bludgeoning damage from non -magical attacks.
Speaker: I'm guessing this is bludgeoning as his walls falling on me. It would technically be bludgeoning. I am resistant to that. For I am a slithering snake. So you would take 17. All right. But. Yeah, it's so hard.
Speaker: There's a I guess technically, if you say survive that one, there's more roofs to this building. Yeah, I'm not saying I'm going to live. I'm just saying I survived this particular one. And so I'll go ahead and do the do the math for the next one then. No, no, no, no, no, no. Can we just we just give it where it instantly doesn't. Is everyone like incident? Yes, everyone is the dead.
Speaker: Oh, I said I'm going to protect. I don't even know where I am. I can't even like do a teleportation circle and take them anywhere. It's not that we can do it. We're instantly dead. Yeah, pancake. It's true. I'm guessing. I well, I cannot survive all of it. So one or two or three rooms later, I will probably also succumb to the bludgeoning.
Speaker: is true. It will happen. Let's move it forward then because I will bludgeon myself to death. Bonk. And this is what I was talking about. It will seem really long to some and not so long to others. That's where we're going to end today. Oh. Bonk. Excellent. All right. Splat, splat, splat.
Speaker: And delayed splat. If I can manage to kick myself, I'll wake up. No, Rashka, no Christ. Okay. Everybody say, everybody say bye. Thank you all for listening. I'm looking forward to next week. Next time in the weeks. Yeah. Yeah. Rashka might sound a little different. How is math? How do you, how do you say math?
Speaker: How do you say math? I think that'll be at least some days. Okay, see you all next time! See ya! Bye bye!
