Ep06: The Believer's Authority: Living in Christ's Authority Every Day

G.O.D. Talks with Chibs

🎙️Episode 6 - In this episode, I sit down with Kristy Pomrenke for a powerful, honest conversation about the authority we carry as believers, not in theory, but in real life. We talk about the moment revelation becomes reality, and what it looks like to stop living from fear or limitation and start living from where we’re seated with Christ. ✝️👑

We also get real about why so many of us forget or "lay down" that authority through disappointment, delay, or doubt and how to realign our hearts and minds when that happens. This episode is an invitation to rise up, walk boldly in His name, and remember: you were never meant to live defeated, but established in His victory. 🔥🙏✨

Catch-Up and Special Guest Introduction

00:00:26
Speaker
Hello everyone, welcome back to another episode of God Talks. It has been a while, i apologize, you know, school and stuff, but I think it was time to really get another episode out.
00:00:41
Speaker
And today I have a special guest with me, Christy Pomeranke. Welcome, Christy. Thank you so much for being with us. um Do you want to introduce yourself and maybe just a little bit about you? Sure. I always get, um yes, my name is Christy. I always, when it's like, introduce yourself, I'm like, what do I share? What do you want to know?
00:01:04
Speaker
Okay, well, I guess I'll give a little bit of a backstory. Okay. So I've met Christy through the Link Church here in Medicine Hat. um She's a really good family friend, um and she's also one of the young adult coordinators, of the young adult leaders.
00:01:21
Speaker
so um once So when I started coming to like the meetings, I guess, the weekly meetings, got to know Christy a lot more.

Christy's Faith Journey

00:01:30
Speaker
i mean, we knew each other a little bit because of um my mom and such but yeah Christy just a really inspiring person and hearing her speak about the word which we'll get into obviously in a moment has been insightful and I thought for this topic especially which we're all talking about i was like who other person than Christy to share so yeah um I guess
00:02:00
Speaker
what would like to know or what they'd like to know i guess is just um what has led you in your faith so far like how have you gotten to this point in your faith um and um yeah maybe where you're from yeah that's a good question all right wow starting at the beginning I was born in Saskatoon Saskatchewan and grew up on a farm in Assiniboia um loved it loved farm life um i feel like there's such a great church there um great leaders really like in my teenage years i just remember like going after the lord and church a youth group like just worship you just like worship the lord and even praying i remember going to like prayer meetings as a teenager that i felt like really helped formed a lot of my walk with the lord um christian family um
00:02:59
Speaker
yeah I think I accepted Jesus when I was four all my life. I walked with him. and yeah I love Jesus. I love talking about Jesus. i love hearing people's story of what Jesus has done in their life. So then when I graduated high school, i moved to Medicine Hat for college. i did the art and design program. I'm i'm a bit of a creative, so and I love everything creative I love.
00:03:26
Speaker
um like in school I studied like art photography um check out her photography stuff amazing amazing thank you yeah chips chips has helped me on a few projects and it's always my favorite when he helps me you're so good um so yeah I just love everything creative baking crafts um just learning so much and I think a lot of it too is like we literally have God like author of the world. Like, what a great example to when you create, like, you get a mirror with the creator of the world. So, I think there's a lot to do with creation and just, yeah, mirror mirroring the Lord. So, yeah, anyway, that brought me to Medicine Hat, schooled it and then I just stayed because I loved it here.
00:04:14
Speaker
um School, right after school, I started a photo business, met Yusuf, got involved with the connection, started a different business, and I've sort of been running with that since 2017-ish. So, what is that, eight years?
00:04:30
Speaker
Wow. I love it. And yeah, there's definitely been a lot of different seasons in Medicine

Impact of Personal Loss on Faith

00:04:35
Speaker
Hat. Like, this is... I remember when I first moved to Alberta, like Saskatchewan, like a church I came, grew up in, very charismatic. And then when I moved to Alberta, everyone was a lot more reserved. I remember thinking, I'm like, does anyone in Alberta even love Jesus?
00:04:55
Speaker
that's <unk>ve I've grown a lot. um And I felt like I've learned a lot about the Holy Spirit since I moved to Alberta. And there's been obviously some high seasons, low seasons.
00:05:10
Speaker
And yeah, it's been it's been really good. I think too, when when you... maybe more for church kids they would have the example when you've grown up in the church with your family and then when it gets time when you move away it's like the decision do do I keep following the Lord do I keep going to church all these things yeah yeah I think it's been really cool just to learn more about the Lord I love prophecy that's like one thing I really love studying about and
00:05:44
Speaker
Yeah, in the last few years, I'm trying to think, what is, like, the the local Y1 base, they do 21 days of prayer. Yeah. And that's been really cool. So I like to partner with um what the Connection. That's like an intercultural association. so I love to bring the different nations meet through the Connection together and, like, pray for the city, pray for the nation. And that's been really neat. I think it's been three or four years that's happened.
00:06:09
Speaker
So I love i love that. i Yeah, and what are what is the year? Wait, 2025? 2025,

Understanding Believer's Authority

00:06:17
Speaker
yeah. um Yeah, in the last couple years, my family has definitely gone through some hard things, just with my dad getting sick and then eventually passing away, and that was, like, a very intense season.
00:06:33
Speaker
um But I've never experienced a Lord like that, and I think even that really helped shape a lot of, like, What do I believe about God? What do I believe about the Word? What do I, like, even my relationship with the Lord? um That, yeah, has probably been the most impactful thing. The hardest thing, but the most impactful thing. um Yeah. Have you found your relationship with the Lord growing stronger? Oh, yeah, yeah. i Like, I was telling some of the young adults a few weeks ago, I said, like,
00:07:12
Speaker
It was very difficult. um And like, obviously, i won't I would have preferred to have dad live. here But I know I'll see him again. But all I can say from that season is he is so worthy. Jesus is so worthy. That would be if I could give a statement of from when he first found out dad was sick to pass, even in the after.
00:07:35
Speaker
Like, worthy is the lamb who was slain. That would be my message. That's what our family experienced in that season. so Yeah, there's, in a nutshell. Yeah.
00:07:47
Speaker
Thank you for sharing that. i think we'll go into the topic now right away. So the topic is the believer's authority. And um i would say this has been resting in my heart for a little while, but I just, I wasn't really sure how or if I was even going to be the one to communicate. You know, so um I was just, you know, sitting, praying, asking the Lord, okay, I know I want this to be talked about eventually. How's it going to And then I was studying during school, and then boys were just like, bring out your phone. This is the topic. This is the person. yeah I'm like, okay, okay. So, yeah, i really want us to delve into that because something comes to my mind where Jesus said,
00:08:37
Speaker
All power has been given unto me in heaven and in earth. I just want to hear some some thoughts from you, Christy. Yes. um Firstly, when did you, I guess, first get a revelation of the authority we have in Christ?
00:08:55
Speaker
Because it's it's, I don't know if it's communicated as much. i mean, we know where God's children, yes. How did you find that grounding and like confidence that okay i'm actually i actually have authority in christ jesus to deal with situations and circumstances well there's two answers that come to mind right off the hop and i think like growing up um in my um family i really want to honor my parents because i felt like they like you know my mom came from like a background that like she was only believer in her family and then my dad came from
00:09:32
Speaker
um what would be that like Holy Spirit wasn't really whole lot. Yeah. Yeah. And so I think it's got to see this really beautiful thing where, um, they, my parents going after the Lord and being willing to like, okay, we've never done this before. We've never experienced, but like just so hungry for Jesus and like willing to take that chance and like step up in faith.
00:09:58
Speaker
And so I saw that like, my parents model that and then so then over the years you know there'd be times where we're going we're praying for healing for someone we're praying for things that we need to see come through and I feel like I saw my parents model that in prayer um and authority um yeah I even remember my dad like so many times like he'd go and like anoint something with oil or um yeah just so I feel like I really saw that modeled um through my parents and then I've
00:10:29
Speaker
So one of my things I did during COVID was i joined like an online prophetic school that was out of Scotland. And so that some of the stuff going to be sharing today comes from a teaching they did on

Balancing Power and Holiness

00:10:43
Speaker
Believer's Authority. And I remember hearing that and i'm like, wow, that's so simple. I love how it's broken down. And it really like it sort of comes from Genesis 1. And I was like, wow, that is so simple. And so, yeah, those are the two things that come to mind.
00:10:58
Speaker
Mm-hmm. When I think about believer's authority. and Yeah. What we can ask. Who we can ask. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, so do you want to elaborate on that? So when we say believer's authority, I think the first question, what is believer's authority? What does that mean to have authority as a believer? Well, so you like just, you shared this first. alreadyy but
00:11:26
Speaker
and is te In the Great Commission, it says, And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you to do. And behold, am with you always to the end of the age. And so when you read about the Great Commission, like what it says to do,
00:12:01
Speaker
First of all, like Jesus says, all authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. And so it just shows how like, um
00:12:12
Speaker
because Jesus has that authority and when we go out to do that, that when we partner with Jesus, we tap into that authority, right? And so there's access to that.
00:12:24
Speaker
But, and I'll explain it in a minute too, about how important, like, if you're accessing this authority, or power, um, how important it is that you and Jesus, like, that, like, you're, you're in the same page, you're connected, right? Yeah. And so, yeah, that was, yeah, one of the things that, that's, i don't know how I, that's how I would explain it, um, that authority and power.
00:12:50
Speaker
Mm. God's power. Mm. Yes. Mm. Amazing. So, would there be a time that you are, can you give us an example of a time that you, um, utilize this or like i guess you you know that there is something you needed to face and this was the only way i guess you would say to to deal with that or yeah i'm trying to think what um i even don't know The scenario that's coming to my mind right now is one of the things I like to do when I'm traveling is ask the Lord, what what is he doing in certain areas? what
00:13:29
Speaker
What's happening? And so I remember during when it was that COVID time, Yusuf had sort of organized these prayer covering times where we drive over the city, all around the city. and we'd be praying for the city, and i don't know, that's the... That's an example. Yeah, that's the example that's coming to mind right now, because I feel like you really, like where we do different times where we'd go and be praying for police department or teachers, and that, so you're like asking the Lord, what what do I need to pray for? And because it was such a time of like chaos, I felt like you really had to ask the Lord, like what am i what am I to pray for? What am I to declare? What do you want to do in this area, in this region? And, um... So that, i don't know, that's the example that came to mind when I thought about, yeah.
00:14:16
Speaker
So his authority has a lot to do with establishing his desires over a certain, Yeah, yeah. That's amazing, actually. Yes. Because sometimes we also think about, like, personal circumstance. Yes. And we want our desires. We don't realize that, you know, with his authority, it's actually establishing his desires. Yes. Yes. Yeah. I think that's a lot.
00:14:39
Speaker
Um. And there's something in that waiting on the Lord and trusting the Lord. So obviously, yes, you have authority, but like God's will is like ultimate, right? So it's like, how do you tap into like God's will but the authority we have? And it's that relationship with Jesus.
00:14:56
Speaker
Yeah. Amazing. um This one is, i think, an an interesting question. um Why do you think so many Believers out there may struggle with the, should I call it, concept of authority? Or just, you know, maybe even not knowing about it? Yeah, yeah, no, that's a good question. There's a few, actually, that reminds me of some of the stuff I had prepared. So, Matthew 22, 29, Jesus is addressing the Sadducees. And they're sort of like trying to trap Jesus in this scenario.
00:15:34
Speaker
And Jesus replies to them and says, But Jesus answers them and says, you are wrong because you know neither the scripture nor the power of God. And I was like, ooh. So does the church even know how powerful they can be?
00:15:52
Speaker
And this is side, but I'll come back. Like when we were going through that season when dad was sick, I just remember, truly believe the reason dad got through that season the state that he did is because he like, the term would use eating the word he was feasting on the word in the middle the night when he'd be plagued by all these things it was the word in him that god got him through and so um knowing scripture knowing god's power um i think sometimes yeah the church just doesn't know power they can have and then
00:16:31
Speaker
um
00:16:35
Speaker
So I think, too, a lot of times the church, we we go after holiness, love, righteousness. but like, we need to know we are a powerful church, right? um That authority. Jesus has authority. Let's use it, right? Let's partner with Jesus and use it. um But, yeah, we don't we don't actually lack the power. We just don't believe we have it.
00:16:56
Speaker
o Right? so I think, like, I'm hoping one of the things from this podcast is that people, when they're done, when they've heard these when they are praying i want them to know wow that authority have i want it to go out the prayers that i'm praying i want that authority what jesus done paid for already handled yeah let's go forth and um access this power yeah but on that note and i referenced this earlier um i think some churches are maybe scared of being a powerful powerful church because it's it's gone wrong in the past
00:17:34
Speaker
We've seen the church use power, but it hasn't been coupled with holiness. So that is my, like, message I want to come through. If you're using God's authority, power, holiness, they need to be partnered.
00:17:48
Speaker
So, and I think, so when power and holiness come together, it's a force for liberation. But power without holiness becomes a force for domination.
00:17:59
Speaker
So that's, yes. And If you're only contending for holiness, which is good, yeah you're so you're in impotent. it's You're only half of what we were like created to do.
00:18:13
Speaker
We've been given dominion. yeah But we need that power and holiness together. so yeah that's amazing That's amazing. Because that's exactly who Jesus is. yes you know yeah Because he's the one um person in this world who had all power.
00:18:33
Speaker
but was the most gentle meek I was just listening to a podcast and they were i was like oh I need to do a talk on on meekness like just realizing like literally he could call down all of heaven to come and he did he actually even said it yeah when they were arresting him yes yeah like I'm just like this man who has all this power but is so meek Yeah. So, yeah.

Authority in Jesus' Name

00:19:05
Speaker
Amazing. Amazing. um We've been given his name. And um that's one thing. The Bible says that at the name, at the mention of his name, every knee should bow.
00:19:18
Speaker
um How can believers cultivate a daily consciousness of this reality? And then what what does this look like practically for us?
00:19:29
Speaker
So like how can you use this? Yeah, so we're talking about, you know, we have the name. But um do we use the name?
00:19:41
Speaker
How do we use the name? What does that look like? i it Being confident in the name. Yeah, that's good. i am I remember reading, I think it was a devotional on this. I had just just this revelation. me just find...
00:20:00
Speaker
Philippians 2. This has marked me.
00:20:08
Speaker
Philippians 2.
00:20:12
Speaker
It's Christ's example of humility. And so, it's starting in verse 3. It says, Do nothing from selfish selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
00:20:25
Speaker
Okay. yourselves Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, through though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of man.
00:20:48
Speaker
And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on the cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every other name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus is the Lord, to the glory of God the Father. So i remember reading that and saying, like, wow, like how Jesus, like, humbled himself, became a man, humbled himself to the point of death, and because of that, God...
00:21:21
Speaker
highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every other name. So when when I think of that, I'm like, Jesus is literally a name above every other name. So you're you wake up, you're dealing with anxiety, fear, Jesus, the name above every other name.
00:21:38
Speaker
You've been given a diagnosis, Jesus, the name above every cancer, diabetes, Jesus. And so I like to think like, God, God,
00:21:49
Speaker
raised because he lowered himself god raised him and so he's above every other thing and so i think just realizing that like i i've you know i've been given news not sure you're going to do something feeling scared whatever jesus he's above every other name and this is another side note um i remember when we were in the hospital with that how oh saying doctors had sort of characterized every disease or thing ailment people might deal with and they categorized them into 39 different and how many times was jesus whipped wow 39 so he's covered everything everything wow everything he has covered and so i just like to remind myself of that um yeah the name above every other name
00:22:44
Speaker
There's actually something interesting. I'm trying to remember where i was taught, but it was like a breakdown of the different names of God. And yes God in the Old Testament had different names. And then now in the New Testament, god became this is the name above every name. So you have God is, you know, he's the provider or he's the healer or he's yeah the and now Jesus is like the covering for all of that. Yes. You know, so that means he fits into every area of life.
00:23:11
Speaker
I think that's beautiful. So, yeah, yeah, yeah. I like that too, actually. I have a poster in my room with all the different names from the Old Testament, and I really like that. Sometimes when I'm praying, I'll even do that. Yeah. Like, the one who sees, like, oh, I love it. Yeah.
00:23:29
Speaker
Amazing. So I think I've got one more question. Sure. um Sometimes life makes us forget the authority we already have. Mm-hmm.
00:23:40
Speaker
So, of course, you know, disappointments, delay, doubt. How do we realign ourselves? How do we bring this back to remembrance? Especially when it's a situation where, um of course, you do have feeling that, you know, that it is a ah tough situation. but how do we remember, wait, no, hold on. We actually have this authority. Let's begin to use it and deal with the situation. That's really good. I think I'm going to just jump to the beginning. Okay. Okay. And read it and sort of, cut this sort of breaks down into three different concepts that I feel like easy to remind

Order from Chaos: Authority in Creation

00:24:17
Speaker
yourself. And then by reading the text, it's just a good reminder of what we see God do. So we're going to start in um Genesis 1. Okay. And so this is the first example of how we see God's power and how it's used.
00:24:35
Speaker
So I think that's a good example for us. Yeah. Okay. You're going through something and like, I even know how to pray for this. So I'll just start reading the first few verses and then I'll jump into something. So, okay. Genesis one, one in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
00:24:54
Speaker
The earth was without form and void and darkness was over the face of the deep and the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, let there be light. And there was light and God saw the light.
00:25:08
Speaker
or And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day and the darkness he called night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. And so from that, okay, we learn the world is in a pre-created state. It's formless, void, empty, dark. It actually would not be accurate to say that there was nothing there. There was nothing. just, it was...
00:25:37
Speaker
yeah yeah Yeah. And so in that pre-created state, it was chaotic. You know, in ah Ezekiel 28, it highlights how God through um you know sent Satan to earth and there was chaos, right? So, you know, it's formless void, chaotic, all these things.
00:25:54
Speaker
And so when God steps in what do we see him do? This is how we first see God reveal himself in his power. And so it's massively important. and that we follow this. It's like how we can, we can mirror how he used his power.
00:26:09
Speaker
It was like his guiding steps. Yes. Yes, exactly. And so these are sort of like the, the three, the three steps, if you want to talk about it. Um, so God created order and structure from disorder and chaos.
00:26:23
Speaker
Um, what, uh, was empty d and barren. He fills with light. And then what is dark, he turns into light. And so from chaos and disorder. So we read,
00:26:34
Speaker
um what does that say here so in the beginning god created the heavens the earth the earth lives without form and void and darkness was over the deep so nothing's nothing's happening right it's formless void and so when god steps in he creates where it's chaotic and disorderly he creates order and structure so you think of the situation in your life There's so much happening. It's chaotic. It's whatever. One a thing you can, like, Lord, what am I to do? How can I create order? How can I create structure in this? um I even feel like that's one of the things the Lord like wants to give the believer for today. This is how we can use that authority. He wants to bring forth strategy, structure, order. He wants to give you dreams. He wants to, like, you wake up in the middle the night it's like, oh, that's how I'm going to do this thing for my business. That's how going to manage people. That's how I'm going to do my finances. Amazing. Where it's,
00:27:27
Speaker
chaos he brings order and structure okay and then so what is then okay it was empty it was barren so then yeah later on in that we see he creates water land plants so where it is where there's no life he creates life um and so i think that's another thing so commanding life anywhere you go how can i pray so that life is flowing you know we have the hope we have the good news and so where we're that's like one of the uh as believers authority i want to wherever death is happening if i walk by i want that to stop and i want life to flow through i see someone with sickness i want life to flow i see you know it's just like lord asking lord how can i partner with you to command life wherever i go you know you're in the grocery store getting your
00:28:25
Speaker
um, the cashiers checking out things and maybe you hear Holy Spirit say, hey, want you to say this and releasing that life. In this day and age, people are so used to it like that between selfishness and just death everywhere and, like, it's so, like, counter-cultural to speak life and I want to change that. I want to see life flow you know, and just take testament. We are made alive in Christ. I want it to, you know, go out. Yeah. And, um,
00:28:55
Speaker
this is this i also thought was interesting so in the pre-created state of water what did god do read it in the scripture the spirit of god was hovering over the face of the water that's in verse two and so what god does he hovers over something that's dark void formless empty and under the power god it transforms into something like giving so before that water didn't have a purpose and and god hovers over and gives it purpose you know and um So the water gets redeemed by the power of God.
00:29:27
Speaker
The power is used for redemption. That's the point. I want you all to remember that, okay? That believer's authority, how can I pray, how can I partner with the Lord to see something redeemed?
00:29:38
Speaker
We've all experienced redemption in our life in one way or another. You know, that's like, yeah. So, and then like the other thing, I really love this one too, is when God talks about...
00:29:53
Speaker
he He redeems the darkness actually. So darkness was over the face of the deep. And so God separates it redeems it and calls it night. So what was empty and purposeless, it is now, you know, called night. And it's the time that we rest.
00:30:09
Speaker
And just think, but even in the darkness, the Lord redeemed it. You know what's coming to my heart? Yeah. Jesus, when he was asleep on the boat. Because same way darkness... almost chaotic and just you don't know what's going on yes the storm was a symbol of that yeah what did jesus do he was resting he was resting darkness is time that we rest restore uh and so yeah with that i like to you know like if we've been given this power to redeem like elements of the earth like get creative you know how can you redeem the mosquito redeem a hurricane like how can something that be become like for hurricane
00:30:47
Speaker
How could you know, pray that it would be life-giving breeze rather than a destructive wind? And I believe in the time and the season we're heading into, we need to know this. We need to know the authority and walk in it. And there's going be seasons and times that it's partnering with the Lord and walking in obedience, we're going to see the world shift, nations shift, because people walking in that authority, walking in the power. How can I redeem this situation?
00:31:18
Speaker
So yeah. And then yeah, just that third is like, where is dark? The Lord brings light. I feel like that's the simple. Where is darkness? You bring the light. You bring the good news. You bring the hope.
00:31:30
Speaker
That's why he made us the light. Yes. Yeah. music Yes. Yes. And then um this is a bonus point. We'll see. but We'll see if we can throw this in. But I was talking with with Chris earlier and we were saying how, okay,

On the the first day when God said, let there be light. And there was light. And god out God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. And he called the light day. And the darkness he called night.
00:31:56
Speaker
There was evening and there was morning for the first day. Okay? That's day one. Okay. And then Chris points out, you get to day four. And um then that's when the God created like the sun.
00:32:10
Speaker
So there was light. then we get to day four and He creates the sun. So why was... How was there day and night? God being light. Am I saying this right? this say you think You can talk, we can edit this. Yeah, the He established Himself as the light, as the... Like, let there be... Like, he injected Himself into chaos. And the that was when...
00:32:41
Speaker
that happened and then he created the physical light on a different day.
00:32:47
Speaker
But... Yeah, so, because, yeah, so on day four it says, and God said, let there be lights in the expanse of heavens to separate the day from the night and let there be signs for the seasons and for the days and years and let the lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth and that was so. And God made the two great lights, the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night and the stars.
00:33:11
Speaker
um And so yeah, that's on the fourth days, but isn't it interesting? No first day, you know darkness and light and then it wasn't till the fourth day That's not the actual light.
00:33:21
Speaker
Yeah, so I feel like anytime you're inviting God into a situation you're welcoming the light So yeah to summarize believers authority, what do we see God do at the beginning?

Practical Application of Believer's Authority

00:33:36
Speaker
You see him let grab these just to make sure i'm being very concise
00:33:44
Speaker
so in genesis 1 the first way you see god's power you're seeing where it's chaos and disorder you've seen the lord bring order and structure where it's empty and barren you're seeing it being filled with life you're seeing and redeem things that have no purpose into something that has meaning in life you're seeing redemption and then where there's darkness you're seeing life and light and so I guess with that, when i now go to pray, I'm like, Lord, how can I partner with you, to with your power to see things, have order and structure, see them redeemed or filled with life? I want to see light in that. I want to see your truth. And so i think that when you see the Lord do that, and because of Jesus, that plan of salvation, all authority has been given to him, and now we are to go out and do these things.
00:34:37
Speaker
Let's see it. Let's walk in this authority we've been given. Yeah. Amazing. I didn't, I didn't um write this down to talk about it, but just, you mentioned it. I want to actually kind of touch on it. Um, so now like when we're praying, we're no longer really, not that we can't ask God, but now because he's given us the authority, it's almost like we're going out with him, you know? So it's like a perspective shift once we realize, um,
00:35:05
Speaker
So I guess my my next question then is really, would it just be to get to know who we are in Him, um to to go up and then be confident, you know, because I think a lot of times we're praying for things that God has already kind of given us, given His Word. So then where do we know how to make the shift? Yeah.
00:35:30
Speaker
Well, as my good friend Donna Jordan talks about, um, it's so important to listen to God. A lot of us just like to talk to God and say, this is what I want. But like, I think quieting yourself and like listening to what's on God's heart, that's going to like, just to know the character of God, right? Like when you know it, I think that's going to help you be able to walk out in what you need to do.
00:35:57
Speaker
It's going to help you remember like the things he's told you, the promises he's said, right? the The scripture you've learned. And so I think the more that you, like, immerse yourself in it, you're going to, like, it sort of builds that muscle, right? The stronger you get. And then I think that's why um when you think of, like, even in our life, who are some people you think who have a lot of authority? It's the ones who have spent the time, who've put in the work, who've listened to God. You see that authority. Like, because, yeah, really, all believers have authority. to
00:36:32
Speaker
But, like, what about the ones who, like, oh you've been diagnosed with cancer they're always taking them to the to the healer you know they've maybe and that that person has a story there they have that authority but really anyone of has the authority but I think there is something to say about the time that's been spent what you've learned um and how you partner with the Lord because I think uh how do explain this um
00:37:05
Speaker
just when you know God's heart, you you realize that He is sovereign. He sees it all and He knows it all. And some of the things that we pray for, like we want it to happen, but ultimately it's God's will and how He wants to do it. And so I think just when you know Him and know His voice, um that's going to help you know how to pray.
00:37:27
Speaker
And even the correct way, not necessarily the correct way, but just the best strategy for how to drink or something yeah yeah amazing um well i think that kind of sums it up um yeah of course we can we can go on forever and just explain because god's word is just it's so deep it's so good yeah but i'm really glad that you got to share these thoughts with us christine and um taking us from genesis actually was was amazing because you know usually when
00:38:00
Speaker
you come to mind about the believer's authority thinking Jesus, you know, but you took us through like, well, it's actually, he established it right from the beginning. So the principles are really right from the beginning. And it's, it's not hidden to us. Yeah. so Yeah.
00:38:16
Speaker
It's, it's, uh, it actually changed my view on the creation story. Right. Yeah. And then again, talking about creation, just love the Lord, how he creates things and then how it's actually powerful when you are, created right so please yeah Yeah, three little steps to to go forth when you're, to know who you are. My dad would always say that. Remember who you are.
00:38:41
Speaker
Remember who you are. And so, walking out in that and being like, actually, the things that the Lord has put in me, like, someone's life can change.
00:38:52
Speaker
You know, you share word of knowledge. You take a minute to pray. You simply smile at someone. It's amazing what can, like, transform your day. Mm-hmm. And so I think, I just want to actually just encourage people, anyone who's listening to this, like, um take a minute, sit with the Lord and say, what's on your heart? What do you want to do? what it What do you have for me today?
00:39:14
Speaker
And just like act in obedience. And it starts simple like that. Just, yeah, cultivating that. Simple day in it, day out doing that. And then, who knows, one day maybe it's going to be the Lord has you ministering to world leaders.

Prayer and Call to Faith

00:39:28
Speaker
Like, it's it's just that I think Simple obedience and walking with the Lord.
00:39:33
Speaker
know Yeah, watching him move. Amazing. I think, can we spend some time, you wouldn't mind, to to pray for people who may be listening? Sure. And, you know, they're hearing about this and, you know, now it's, I guess, time for them to to walk in this path. But, but you know, they're new yeah something. Yeah, yeah.
00:39:56
Speaker
Yeah, I'll definitely pray.
00:40:06
Speaker
Jesus, I thank you for your name and what you did on the cross.
00:40:12
Speaker
I thank you that your name is above every other name.
00:40:19
Speaker
So right now, Lord, I just pray for all the listeners of this podcast, wherever they are, whatever they're going through, whether it's just their day-to-day life or maybe they're sitting in a hospital, maybe they're about to head to the job god i thank you that you are just so near and you're so close and so first lord i just pray that each listener would have just a revelation of who you who they are in you and god i just thank you for how we see you act in genesis 1 how we see the creation of the earth and how we see turn order um from chaos and how you breathe life and how you bring light and so
00:41:01
Speaker
Jesus, as these dear ones, these dear listeners, go through their day, Lord, I just pray that there would just be such a creativity and inspiration for how your power can be at work in the day-to-day, in the mundane details, the mundane details to, like, the big, big decisions of life.
00:41:19
Speaker
And so, um Holy Spirit, would you just whisper at the hearts of these listeners, show them how they can just partner with you to walk in your authority and walk in your power.
00:41:31
Speaker
And Lord, I just pray that this would just be the the start, a turning point of believers just walking and their authority and partnering with you and what you want to do on the earth.
00:41:44
Speaker
And yeah, just bless these listeners in Jesus' name. Amen.
00:41:52
Speaker
Amen. At this time, I'm just going to lead anyone who if you don't know jesus at all you're just hearing it from the first time and this you're new to this podcast or whatever it may be and you would like to give your heart to Christ you want to get to know the Lord just say this short prayer after me and it's basically you're just declaring your faith in Jesus you know the Bible says believe and confess and then you'll be saved and that's really all it takes so just repeat after to me Lord God I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ
00:42:27
Speaker
I believe he died for me and he was raised for me and that he's the Lord of my life to today. I'm a child of God now. I'm born again. Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul.
00:42:39
