Introduction to God Talks with Chibs
00:00:04
Speaker
Welcome to God Talks with Chibs, where faith meets purpose and young voices rise to lead with truth. Let's build, grow, and go deeper in the Word, in life, and in destiny.
What Does 'Purpose' Really Mean?
00:00:28
Speaker
Okay guys, so today we're talking about purpose. The money word. And I say that because i think it's becoming more and more, or people are feeling like it's more and more of a cliche term, you know, or something that's like, oh, why you bringing up purpose, you know?
00:00:57
Speaker
So it's a topic that needs to be fleshed out. And so that is what we're going into today.
00:01:08
Speaker
It's important to understand what you are here for. Why you, why you're in the earth, you know, putting it like that is like, oh okay.
00:01:23
Speaker
But it's as simple as that. Why are you here? Why are you here? So going to take you along with me and we're going to go through okay just six points, but brief points, and we will start.
00:01:43
Speaker
And of course, if you're listening to my podcast, ah you know that
00:01:52
Speaker
we like to use scriptures quite a bit. So journey with me as we go
The Ultimate Act of Love: Jesus' Sacrifice
00:01:59
Speaker
along. We are starting with John chapter 15 verse 13.
00:02:04
Speaker
And it says, greater love has no one than this to lay down one's life for one's friends.
00:02:14
Speaker
According to God's word, it says greater love has no one than this. There's no greater action in love than this. to lay down your life for your friend.
00:02:32
Speaker
The Lord Jesus, he chose to die for us. We're getting right into the meat of it. The Lord Jesus, he chose to die.
00:02:43
Speaker
It wasn't random and it wasn't forced because there were opportunities for him
00:02:53
Speaker
to make the change and say, oh, you know what? I don't stand with everything I've said. I apologize. Don't kill me. did they He could have done all of that. And then they wouldn't have killed him or he would have gotten a lesser punishment, but he chose to die.
00:03:10
Speaker
It was an intentional act from beginning to end.
00:03:21
Speaker
I think this is already very profound because it already shows you the heart of the person that you're dealing with.
00:03:33
Speaker
He chose to die. There's no greater love than this. Remember that
00:03:41
Speaker
the Lord Jesus chose to die.
The Value of Human Life Beyond Earthly Achievements
00:03:48
Speaker
And before he died, God weighed the cost. God weighed the cost and he decided that you were worth that cost.
00:04:00
Speaker
You see, if you're wondering how much is my life really worth? Because sometimes those questions pop up. How much am I really am i really worth?
00:04:13
Speaker
If you find the answer to be
00:04:19
Speaker
whatever you went to school for, you're wrong.
00:04:24
Speaker
If you find the answer to be, oh not much because and don't really solve too many problems in the world, you're still wrong.
00:04:37
Speaker
If you find the answer to be anything outside of what God's word says, you're wrong.
00:04:52
Speaker
Why? Because God created us. And so when it was time to make the payment, he weighed the cost and decided it was worth the blood of his son, Jesus.
00:05:12
Speaker
And by the way, the term son of God really just means God in human flesh. So he thought
00:05:21
Speaker
that he himself was worth it for you. That's massive. That's massive. And we think that God is there in the sky with like a whip or something, you know, or just goggles, just watching our every move and waiting for you to mess up.
00:05:38
Speaker
No, No, he thinks you were worth the cost.
00:05:50
Speaker
He paid intentionally.
00:05:55
Speaker
That's my first, or I guess my intro for you to you. I want you to know what this means. You see, Jesus laid down his life for you intentionally.
Redefining Human Worth Through Jesus' Sacrifice
00:06:09
Speaker
So my first point is love that redefines worth. This is so big because we put our worth in so many different aspects of the world, right?
00:06:24
Speaker
As soon as you go to school, your worth can easily be attributed to how smart you seem, how intellectual you are. Right. If you can't get this grades or that those grades or academic, you're not as academic as some other students, you're already rated or you are super academic. So you're rated at a certain point.
00:06:51
Speaker
Your worth can be attributed to what's on your resume. So your resume me seems so stacked or not as stacked or you specify or specialize in a certain area that you really like.
00:07:05
Speaker
We put our worth in so many things.
00:07:09
Speaker
And how skilled you are in sports, how athletic you are. Right? The world classifies you so quickly, but And and they're the love of the world is so fickle because it's based on what you can do or what you can't do.
00:07:31
Speaker
So they love you more if you can do more. You see more valuable if you can do more, if you can give more yourself.
00:07:41
Speaker
In the sense that, you know, you have what they need, what they want. But there's a love that redefines worth.
00:07:54
Speaker
How is it redefined? It's redefined through the sacrifice of Jesus.
00:08:03
Speaker
You didn't have to do anything. He dies and his death gives you access to a relationship with him. Why? Because the perfect father He's also the perfect judge.
00:08:20
Speaker
And though the perfect father wants a perfect relationship with his child, he cannot excuse as a perfect judge sin. Somebody has to pay.
00:08:33
Speaker
So now automatically your worth becomes whatever he pays and he gives himself.
00:08:46
Speaker
So that means You are as valuable to the Lord as Jesus is.
00:08:55
Speaker
Oh my goodness. That changes everything. You are as valuable to God as the Lord Jesus because he pays for you with his own blood.
00:09:12
Speaker
Oh, that is a love that redefines worth because now your worth is not in your accomplishments or your lack of accomplishments. Your worth is in the Lord Jesus who paid for you.
00:09:28
Speaker
If I go to a store and i want to buy, i want to buy book. Okay. if I go to the store and i want to buy a book.
00:09:40
Speaker
The worth, the value of this book.
God's Equal Value for Humans and Jesus
00:09:56
Speaker
That I pay for it.
00:10:00
Speaker
Okay. Yeah, it can be written with the same, you know, ink and whatever as many other books. But if I price it.
00:10:11
Speaker
at a higher value becomes more valuable.
00:10:17
Speaker
The Lord priced you at the highest value. He didn't just price you at the value of another man. He priced you at the value of the man, Christ Jesus.
00:10:34
Speaker
That means, oh, that means When you come to God, you're not coming to God to try to fix yourself because once you say, dear Lord Jesus, I accept you.
00:10:48
Speaker
He sees you as the perfect man. He sees you perfect in his sight because your value is equal to the value of a perfect man.
00:11:03
Speaker
think I just cooked on that one.
00:11:07
Speaker
Alright, I'm already 10 minutes in and this is only my my first point. So I guess we'll just have to do three points for today and we'll move on. Okay, so my second thing is...
00:11:23
Speaker
And I was listening. Now, actually, i my teacher, shout out to my grade nine English teacher, Mrs. Taylor. Taylor, you're listening to this, thank you so much for playing this in class. I still remember this video to this day.
00:11:39
Speaker
And it's a sermon from Judah Smith. All right. And it's called Jesus is loving Barabbas. And he paints a picture where, you know, Barabbas, I'm not going to get too much into it because it takes some time to explain, but he's a character in the Bible and he was basically known criminal of the day.
00:12:02
Speaker
And when it was time, um according to the Jewish law, or tradition to release a prisoner.
00:12:14
Speaker
The choice was between Barabbas and Jesus. Jesus really had done nothing wrong. This is a man who healed the sick, cast out devils, raised the dead, opened blind eyes.
00:12:30
Speaker
Barabbas was a murderer. he He was a criminal. And when it was time to choose Who do you want to be set free?
00:12:42
Speaker
The people, the crowd chose Barabbas. Now, if you look at it from that aspect, you'll be like, oh my goodness, this also just shows the wickedness of the people. But Judah Smith painted an analogy and said, you know what?
00:12:57
Speaker
Barabbas represents us as human beings. We didn't deserve to be set free, but God out of his love set us free.
00:13:10
Speaker
By taking our place. So that whole encounter is literally foreshadowing what Jesus was to do on the cross for us.
00:13:24
Speaker
And it paints a perfect picture. So if if you um want to check that out, just search up Jesus is Loving Barabbas, Judah Smith's sermon on YouTube.
00:13:35
Speaker
A beautiful picture, beautiful picture. This is what Jesus did for us.
00:13:45
Speaker
My third point, it's okay to have
Embracing Faith Amidst Doubts
00:13:50
Speaker
questions. It is okay to have questions. All right. Faith doesn't mean that doubt doesn't come or questions don't arise.
00:14:04
Speaker
But don't, and hear me, don't stay stuck in those doubts or questions. You see, if doubt tries to enter, you have to continue fixing your eyes on Jesus.
00:14:19
Speaker
Because doubt is one thing that stops
00:14:27
Speaker
or hinders your progress with the Lord.
00:14:33
Speaker
Be so confident in who Jesus is. Know that he's there. Continue looking at him. Continue fixing your eyes on him. Continue trusting him because that's where the power is.
00:14:47
Speaker
I could give an example of this, but time. But if you want an example, look at the story of Jesus walking on water. And when Peter also walked on the water, there was this it's the same story.
00:15:00
Speaker
Fix your eyes on the Lord Jesus. You see, I'm going to skip to my last point because I really want you to hear what this is. All right.
00:15:16
Speaker
So now that Jesus has paid and he's taken care of the sin aspect, now is the relationship aspect.
Living in Response to Jesus' Love as Purpose
00:15:26
Speaker
What does this mean?
00:15:30
Speaker
You are now to use your life, your choices, your time, your words, your actions to reflect the love of Jesus, to reflect what he did for you.
00:15:44
Speaker
He gave his life for you. Now you are to give him your choices, your time, your words, and your actions.
00:15:54
Speaker
That, we're bringing it back to purpose now. That is where your purpose is rooted. it is in responding to his love with your life. I'm to say that again.
00:16:07
Speaker
Your purpose in God is rooted in responding to his love with your life.
00:16:17
Speaker
You see, he loved you so much, he paid.
00:16:24
Speaker
Your worth is the blood of Jesus.
00:16:28
Speaker
It's worth his life. So now in response to his payment of his life,
00:16:37
Speaker
give your life for him.
00:16:41
Speaker
Not in the sense that you now have to die for him. No, no, no. But you now live for him because he paid for you. You are worth his life. So your purpose is to live out the life of Christ that he paid. This is the purpose.
00:17:02
Speaker
So now you're not
00:17:08
Speaker
a doctor trying to, you know, be good in the world, or you're not a teacher trying to be good in the world. You are Christ.
00:17:21
Speaker
In a lab coat to your world, you are Christ to the kids you teach, you represent him, you show him to your world.
00:17:34
Speaker
This is the life he's given us.
00:17:38
Speaker
So now if you want to again, this is another deep topic, but a is what God talks is is what God talks is.
00:17:49
Speaker
It's getting to know. what it means to truly be grounded. That's it.
Connecting with God: An Invitation and Prayer
00:18:00
Speaker
So if you want to take this step now and really live out your purpose, I want you to say this prayer after me because he can't force himself on you, but he wants a relationship with you. So say this prayer after me, Oh Lord God,
00:18:23
Speaker
I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, son of the living God. I believe he died for me and he was raised from the dead for me.
00:18:35
Speaker
I'm a child of God now. I have eternal life. Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul. In Jesus name. Amen.
00:18:48
Speaker
so welcome to the family of god welcome to the kingdom of god god loves you god loves you and know that you have a safe space here if you have any questions maybe um you're just listening in and you're hearing this you're wow but you still have some questions like i said the questions are okay Please don't feel like you can ask questions. 00:19:17
Speaker
Send me the questions right away and I'll answer them as soon as possible.
00:19:22
Speaker
Get to a local church and begin growing your relationship with the Lord Jesus because now that's the next part. Cultivating the relationship. That's the whole point now.
00:19:34
Speaker
um Yeah. Thank you for listening to today's episode and I'll see you guys in the next one.
00:19:41
