Speaker: Welcome to Wine Mama, a podcast where two bestie moms whine while they whine. I'm Annie. And I'm Jemina. Let's whine. And welcome. I love saying welcome back to another episode, but you guys.

Speaker: We're trying so hard to get our shit together. I'm going to be the first one to tell you guys, sorry, but like lots of things went on last week between my household and we're still slowly trying to gain our sanity back. So you know what?

Speaker: To our true and full listeners that know we come out every Tuesday, thank you for your patience. This one's for you. This episode is actually dedicated to you. Thank you so much. Yeah, you guys were in the trenches last week. mean, I'm not going air out like what was going on, but like... Food poisoning, you guys. It was food poisoning. You can imagine if you've ever had food poisoning, then I don't need to explain to you what was going on in my household. Yeah.

Speaker: I mean, I wasn't going to say it, but like, yeah, food poisoning. Yeah. So, no, i in in the good friend being the good friend I am I couldn't be like well shut up pour your glass of wine with your food poisoning and sit down and just record an episode so last week's episode was late we actually you guys I'm such an overthinker um and we said we were gonna jump straight into the wine now here we go um I'm such an overthinker that like, obviously the episode was like, supposed to like, ended up going later in the week.

Speaker: Well, then it ended up going, being posted on nine 11. And I was like, well, we didn't mention anything about nine 11 because like, that wasn't the intention. and so then I was overthinking. oh oh my gosh. I did not think about that at all. And now I'm overthinking the spiral.

Speaker: that's, Oh my gosh. I put that in my brain. Yeah. So sorry. So that I've been thinking about that. I'm like, Oh my God, that wasn't intentional. But any who, here we are. we are Here we are Honorable mention to nine 11. We are very aware of that day. Okay. We just, we are not tone deaf or anything like that. As a matter of fact, I think I like texted everybody how like i have this, like, I don't know if it's an obsession, but like, I have to watch every single video, listen to every single audio.

Speaker: And I know I've heard them before. I know I've seen this clip, these clips before I've read these stories, but I have to watch them every year on that day. Like something about it. Like, I just, I don't know. i have to cry it out and just feel those good, but it like hurts. Right. It's like, so it's, I also feel like maybe it's,

Speaker: kind of healthy to realize that this is like a very real thing that happened in our lifetime when we were still like pretty young trying to understand life and anything.

Speaker: Um, and I think I told you guys, there's somebody that I follow a girl that I go to, um, Berries with her and she was like, you know, you always say like look for the heroes in times of crisis look for the heroes and so all of her posts all of her Instagram stories were like these heroic People and things and there were some that I had never heard of like I never knew that there were like tugboats who like went across the Hudson River to like Evacuate people and like these boats like went across the river to like get people out

Speaker: or like um the one of there was someone who like didn't make it on his like fire truck in time or something and so he ran like under this tunnel I posted that I like reposted that one he like ran under this tunnel that's like I guess under the river or something from maybe Brooklyn I'm not sure like don't quote me on any of this um and now and he past I believe during 9-11 but now they do this like run every year through this tunnel or something like in honor of him I could be very wrong here um but yeah there were some that like you hear about and again these stories are so incredibly sad but it kind of like again especially in times like right now feel like there's a lot of doom and gloom happening there's been a lot of doom and gloom lately um and again even that was a very doom and gloom time for our country I still feel like

Speaker: people really came together too to help people. And i feel like we've kind of lost that right now, but not to be sad. No, it's, it's, it's so true though. Like those stories almost give you like such a hope of humanity. Like there's so many good people out there that are willing, like, Everyone knows the red bandana guy, you know, like it's just, it's, we need, we almost need, not that I, please don't take this, like I would ever want something like that to happen ever again in this lifetime. But like, we need the spirit of the human worlds at that time, because we need that that level of humanity level of humanity is what needs to come back. Like circle on back to us.

Speaker: Yeah. Like not because of something that horrific and tragic, but like, just be nice. understand what you're saying. mother yeah Like, you know what I mean? Anyways. Yeah, I had something about it like every year and I just had like have to cry it out. I'm way. I'm like, I'm looking at the hero stories. I'm looking at the dog stories like every year. i know. So please don't think because we dropped our episode late that we were tone deaf on that. No, whatever. Yeah. After I post I spiraled. Sorry. Yeah. Join me. go keep me up at ain't now Join me. Join me in the spiraling because as soon as I post it like an hour later, I was like, oh, I just.

Speaker: Yeah. Oh, we're just going to, we got ride. I can't, we're going ride with it now. So anywho, anywho. Also, before we do, I know we said we're going to go straight into the wine details because we've got a topic, but I do have to mention the awkwardness of the environment. You guys, I do not have my mic.

Speaker: I do not have any sort of good camera right now I am on a backup computer because again, that is just how life has been in this household. It's called surviving, not thriving. And it's, it's that time. So when you said environment, I was like, what's going on? ah Like what's going on outside? I thought you were bringing like our like environment, your own environment. Yes. No, my life. oh yeah my yeah and My own little chaotic.

Speaker: Well, since we're when since we're speaking our truths, this wine that we're going to drink tonight. So I have found that I love going into ABC and kind of having someone give me like if i if they see me like looking for a wine, I'm like, yeah, I'm just kind of like poking around for something from like.

Speaker: Italy or Argentina or whatever. And I like look for something specific, but then they'll give me another recommendation. So I found this wine because there is a spot in the back of ABC where There are wines that you can taste. So my my my truth telling is that i I have already tasted this. That's why I bought it, because I liked it. But there is a spot back in ABC where every single ABC has two or three of the same wines shown or like certain ABCs in like a region.

Speaker: And then the other wines are that specific store chooses the wines. Like people who work there and like know the wines, choose the wines to have there. And this one, the gentleman who was talking to me was the one that he chose. And so was like, oho I'll give it a taste. And i ended up buying it. So that is what we are drinking tonight. So are you ready to wine with our wine of the week?

Speaker: I'm so ready to wine with wine of week. So this week we are drinking, and Lord, let me say this correctly. We are drinking the Giuseppe Campagna Barolo. Sounds good to me. Maybe. Okay. All right. Great. Great.

Speaker: Sounds great. And that is pretty much all we have on this wine. So...

Speaker: She's not wrong. I'm not wrong. It's Andy has had a very hard time. i didn't even try it because the moment andy was like, I cannot find like much on this wine and this brand and anything about it. I was like, if your research has not fulfilled your dreams, it's not going to fulfill it if I try. So that's a wrap.

Speaker: it It was a tough one. I will say the price is is pretty fair. It's between $28 and $34. But we can tell you kind of what we'll be tasting and smelling on the nose. Jamina, would you like to give us that? Yes. This is my favorite part because I really dive deep into whatever this description says on any wine.

Speaker: So tonight for Giuseppe, which is such a fun name. You know who Giuseppe is, right? Isn't that the name of... i Pinocchio's dad I think you're uh yes I think so just not Geppetto no oh Geppetto Geppetto anyways yes Geppetto my bad I'm confusing all the the g Italian names at this point but anyways back to what we're gonna be smelling and tasting um So it's cherry plum and dried roses with exotic spices, spice fruit and earthy roasted notes on the palate.

Speaker: What is exotic spices mean from someone? And I know, i know.

Speaker: I don't know if I'm allowed to say this. My HR is probably going to censor me. But from from two gals that enjoy Smutty Books. Exotic sounds like, I don't know, like that's just not something I would describe as spice.

Speaker: Wait, you just went out. youre Wait, you just went out. What did you say? It sounds like what? and No, I just said I don't think this is a, like, exotic is not what I would describe spices as Like, what are we talking about? Oregano? Like, what are we, what kind of spice are we talking about that's exotic? What's considered an exotic spice?

Speaker: Right. i What's making this exotic? I thought you were goingnna say something about erotic, but we'll... Oh! Oh! Neither... Now you know what level spice each of us reads. Neither here neither here nor there. So this is a Barolo. um So I think we may have had Barolo once, maybe twice, think just once. So...

Speaker: Barolo is a a wine from Piedmont it is a region in northwest of Italy bordering on France. It is made 100% the grape In order for it to be a true Barolo wine, it is made 100% from that grape.

Speaker: And it must be grown in designated areas within these certain villages in that Piedmont area. So I find that kind of cool that this, it's another one of those wines that's very specific to be named a true Barolo. Yeah.

Speaker: I think we've only had one other one. only because I recall the description of Barolo. um So this will be our second attempt. But it smells very good, I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker: Yep. And this one is, it's, I feel like these are usually darker bodied, but this one looks pretty. It's pretty clear. It's like a medium. Yeah, like it's pretty clear. i was actually like when I poured it, it looked I was like, oh, this is kind of like I also was like water in my mind. i was like, it's kind of like watered down is the only way I can describe it Because if you take like a white like a dark wine and maybe like mix a little water in it, like it's see through, right? Like don't know how to explain it.

Speaker: Normally I like I can't see the bottom of the glass, but I can see the bottom. Yeah. So it smells delicious, though. It smells delicious. And um we're going to see about those exotic spices. Are you ready to give it a try?

Speaker: Let's taste that cardamom. Cardamom even a spice. don't even know what that it is. It It is. But that would be an erotic spice. So yeah i' different I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I have no idea. Anyways. Cheers.

Speaker: So good. It's definitely like feels, how do I word this? Like it looks lighter, but feels like a darker yeah home Yes, definitely does.

Speaker: and Like, I don't know, hopefully that makes sense. But if you get this wine, like it's good. it's just like, when you look at it, you feel like it's going to be like almost like light and, but it tastes like more like a darker vibes wine.

Speaker: Yeah. I'm going based off looks. I'm judging based off looks here. just looks specifically and i feel like the bottle is like pretty sleek looking too with this let's see if we can i did bring it in here with me um yes i feel like yeah sorry about the ring light guys and we usually don't you really there we go it's better it is cute i mean it's it's just it's simple The label is simple. It's nothing wild Yeah. but it's going to bring us into a great discussion this this evening.

Speaker: Okay? Because this evening we're talking about mom problems that sound probably insane to everyone else unless you're a mom and you relate.

Speaker: It's as simple as I can put it. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And I feel like there are so many of those and there's this could go so many different ways, right? Like this is just like, it kind of reminds me of, um you know, that saying that's like kids are like drunk um addlers drunk toddlers or whatever. it kind of like gives that same vibe of like, oh, that's just like, that's just like my kids. That's just how they act. Like this is just, this is just life. These are just things that happen that,

Speaker: would be crazy to li anyone anyone literally anyone else. But if you're explaining to a mom, they're like, no, I i get it. I get it. Happens every Tuesday at 3 p.m. Got it. On the dot. On the dot. on the but It's so true. It's so true. But like one of like the main ones i think everyone can relate as a parent is the loss of a water bottle.

Speaker: The loss of your child's water bottle once you get to the stage of water bottles. Yes. It's like no other. Like it's, you know, everyone has, every kid has that one specific water bottle that the token one, if you will.

Speaker: okay And God forbid, that's not the one that you have or Yes. Or that you brought in the car and you're, ah you've already gone. You're already gone. There's no other option. My favorite is like, well, where'd you see it last? Well, I, do you think that they would like,

Speaker: have it on them If they remembered where they had it last, that is the worst. Or if it's like a bottle that's full of like milk or something, you're like, okay, where'd you leave it? where you it's Now it's gone. Now you just got to leave it.

Speaker: You just got to leave it where it's at. it's It's forever gone. Or it's the the water bottle that they literally got the day before, but now it's their emotional support. Like they can't live without it. It's the best thing that they've ever seen. The water's just more fresh, pristine, clear. It's literally mountain. It's probably from like the deaths of Alaska at this point. And like, dude, you literally got it yesterday. Like there was no attachment, no attachment.

Speaker: and the Like this is a problem that to anyone, like any, like, gen what is it gen z or any generations that that are not in the parenthood generation right now like yeah they would literally just be like what yeah what you mean but honestly you know what i actually take that back i actually take that back because right now water water and water bottles are all the rage when we were growing up i can't tell you i did not none of us

Speaker: ever saw a water bottle. I think maybe I went to a water fountain maybe once in my entire school year. like We never brought out like, and you rarely drink from the water fountain. Listen, I had Pepsi vanilla every day at lunch, like Bible Pepsi vanilla every day lunch, like a water bottle who, but now it's what saying. Okay. First of all, we need to pause right there. You were a Pepsi gal.

Speaker: At one time I was, um I mean, listen, Pepsi vanilla and me rode hard. um hater, hater. Haters will say it's fake, but... Not all of Annie's pictures from childhood are holding a Pepsi vanilla.

Speaker: No, that was literally in high school every day at lunch. I would walk to the vending machines after we ate inside and i would get a Pepsi vanilla and one of the Welch's gummies like thing from the vending machine. Like you guys stupid. So stupid. I vaguely remember this. But anywho, that was like, again, like maybe the generation now can relate because like this generation is all about water and hydration, dude.

Speaker: The amount of water bottles I have in my cabinet from Aubrey. I'm like, don't bring home another water bottle unless you're getting rid um yeah one. Because this is in insane.

Speaker: Insane. It's like a cult. It's like a cult-based situation now. yeah It is. But in addition to, you kind of touched on it with the water cup.

Speaker: You also have to... Be careful when you're doing like cups, plates, the specific fork, spoon, whatever it is. Like it has to be a specific color. And you guys, how do you, how do you decipher like who gets one color? Is it the kid who's coming up and asking for that specific plate that they get is or It's like well, don't ask. Like if you're asking for it, you're not going to get it.

Speaker: Or if they ask for it, they get it. Like it is a freaking battle. Give me matching everything. Like luckily i have two girls who fight over this. Maybe not luckily. Maybe probably unluckily.

Speaker: And you have a boy and a girl, but like everything like God forbid only have one frozen bowl. One frozen bowl. If I bring that frozen bowl out, it's like hell hath no fury like the children had the child who does not get the frozen bowl for their dinner.

Speaker: Like it is wild. It's crazy. And then I have to like lift my voice because it's like, want it. Well, you said we're not allowed to ask, but blah, blah, blah. I'm like, I'm going to break this bowl and throw it away.

Speaker: No, it's so true. Like talk about literally another mom problem. God forbid you chose the wrong cup color. Like you're literally the worst mom alive or even worse. God forbid, this is our situation.

Speaker: God forbid you washed in the dishwasher, the character utensils and now the characters are gone. Oh, why you wash the princess?

Speaker: You guys, I'm sorry, but I'm not spending. This was like one of those moments of weakness where like I had Avery with me at Target and she saw a spoon and fork princess combo. I didn't look at the tag.

Speaker: Okay. She became emotionally attached to it during the Target trip. So at that point, obviously I had to purchase it. $15 for a toddler spoon and fork. That is insane.

Speaker: Insanity. Will not purchase again. Especially now that I know that it's not dishwasher safe for the princesses. So you spent $15 and the princess is also washed off. Exactly. So at this point I just tell her, I'm sorry. Like, and they took a tubby and.

Speaker: It is what it is, my girl. They're in heaven now. yeah Switch to the villains, Avery. It's fine. but Yeah. Like a little, and she would, but I'm not spending $15 on another fork and spoon. and Like.

Speaker: ah title you want to title me the worst mom alive for putting in the dishwasher i'll take it i'm not buying another one like pick a different color pick anything else honestly eat with your honestly eat with your hands don't even care eat with your hands just you know this may sound insane but like it's one of those things like it's truly a pick your but battles vibe because otherwise it is an insane problem to deal with as a mom when you're just trying to get stuff done I have become the biggest proponent of just like pick, like pick your battles. And that comes with like, again, we're talking about meals and things like that and food. It's like when they've had the same, they like, they've eaten the same meal for like, it's always in their favorite. You know, that's your go-to like, you know, if they're not to do anything else. They're going to eat this meal. Well, the one night like I'm just going to, I'm going to ask them if this is what they want. I'm just going to make it and they don't eat it. And that's even more infuriating because you're like

Speaker: when when When did this change? like When did this not become like your go-to? When did we decide to make things harder on me?

Speaker: like really that's It's like they're in their minds. like She's had she's had an easy day today. Let's fuck it up. listen

Speaker: Not on my watch. They're like, no. crank it up sister crank it up it's time to bring it down the lawn mom's had an easy day today it's time yeah like they just give each other get away with it yeah they just give each other look it's so true though like it's i have a prime example recently i'm sure you know i cannot think of the name but it's the little round pancakes they come in a pink box Oh, um oh, my God. The Brothers. um The Brothers. Something Brothers. Oh, they're so good. And their Belgian waffles are. And their little, like, pancakes are so easy.

Speaker: avery Belgian Brothers. Belgian Brothers. yeah Belgian Brothers. You guys, these are e top notch. They're elite little waffles. So simple. 30 seconds in the microwave. Easiest breakfast you'll have.

Speaker: And Avery was obsessed with them because my mom always got them for her. So we only get them when they were on sale. So like, and I always forget to check if they're on sale. So I bought them for her. When I tell you she ate 10 in a row and then finished the whole bag the next day, I'm not kidding. So I'm like, oh my God, they sell these at Costco. Let me get the Costco packets.

Speaker: Oh, i i've I know this. yeah you know where he is going Oh, I know this because i've so hate it I've also been there. I've also been there. She hates it. I'm sorry. Does the Costco one taste different or something like what? Like she she won't eat it. I have to bribe her down because I'm like, I will not buy you more croissants because that's a whole nother issue over here. Like this girl will eat a croissant for every meal of the day. Like she is a croissant addict. OK, take that girl to Paris.

Speaker: Oh, I It's on my list, honey. and so shea She needs an authentic croissant. i keep yeah I keep telling her, I'm like, I'm not buying you any more croissants until you eat your pancakes. That's where I'm at. like So yesterday she ate five.

Speaker: So five at a time, she's going to have to eat them until she gets the croissants. Stop. That's all I can do. And we have I have croissant, but I did buy the croissants because of course I'm not evil, but I have to buy a part to eat the pancakes in order to get a croissant.

Speaker: Oh my God. That is so funny. Yeah. Bri bread with bread. It is Belgian boys and they currently have their target. They're all D2, their target pumpkin spice mini pancakes.

Speaker: Yeah. But the waffle, have you ever tried the Belgian waffle they make? No, I haven't tried. I haven't tried the waffle elite. You know what I'm going say? You know what going to say to do with them? When they bury me in my casket,

Speaker: pretend happy cool list and i want yeah pretend this is my little my main event fun fun card. This is going in my casket. with the Pretend this is the the Belgian boys, Belgian waffle. Just bury me like this.

Speaker: it is wildly i like have to i'm like aubrey eat them because if i if the box is in there and they're not eating them d because they're like almost like sugar crusted a little bit jamina Have you put a chicken finger on there?

Speaker: Oh, I would be 1,000 pounds if I did because they are so good. Trust. Like, Belgian boys, if you want to sponsor me, I will... Bury herself. She will bury herself. Again, this is my waffle. This is me many, many years down the road.

Speaker: this is me with my Belgian boys. Do you want the waffles in first or like every other thing that you've mentioned? I mean, listen, if you wanted to make a little crown around my head of them... Or like here, like even on my, maybe my head here lies Annie Pyle. She loves waffles.

Speaker: Belgian boy specifically. I was trying to make it rhyme, but I'm like, m I don't think I can. That's segwayed, but you. You know, you said, are they good? I'm like, well, now you know what you're getting into. Dangerous territory because I just love them so much. All right. So if you guys go try it just don't buy them all because Annie would like also a box.

Speaker: Yeah, please. Or like just like ship me one. If you're if you're buying them out at your local Publix. Yes. Just shut I'm dead. That's so funny. But yeah, like, it's just like, it's, it's so bizarre how like something clicks in their brain that their favorite thing is no longer their favorite thing. Like,

Speaker: What? Like, do you remember when Avery was obsessed with cheeseburgers? She would only eat Wendy's cheeseburgers. Yes. Like, to the point that you guys, I served it for her birthday party. I went and bought Wendy's cheeseburgers for her birthday party. Elite. Elite. Like, elite. Honestly, it was clutch. Everybody loved the fact that was Wendy's cheeseburgers everywhere. But, like, now she's a chicken nugget gal at Wendy's. And I'm like, don't you remember? Like, maybe she just ate too many that year. Like, I don't know. Like,

Speaker: She turns her nose up in disgust. Like, ugh. yeah And probably discovering that, like that moment of discovery, going and then getting a burger. And she's like, yeah. Not anymore. She's like, no.

Speaker: want chicken nuggets, fries, and ketchup. Okay. All right. Whatever, queen. Whatever you say. But don't make it difficult on me when I accidentally get it for you because that was your favorite thing for an entire 365 days a year. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Speaker: Just like saying. I think it's also like other moms hear this and like, yeah, like totally get it. I think it's people who don't have kids yet or sometimes it's even like our parents, right? Like even our parents are like, are you guys like, no no, you forget you You haven't done it in a while, but you forget what it's like to be making deals with the devil here. Sometimes you do what you need to do.

Speaker: You need to do what you need to to keep the peace. If that is bargaining, if that is whatever it may be, may sound a little cuckoo, but works.

Speaker: It works. you You gotta do it. You gotta do it. One of our other big um problems that may sound insane to you, but it's completely sane and this household and I can probably promise in your household as well, if you have children is the bedtime inventory when it's literally bedtime. We've gone all day all day. we did the entire bedtime routine. That's only supposed to last 30 minutes, but lasted somehow 45 minutes to an hour. And then right when they're tucked in, right when that final good night comes in, like, can i where's my, where's my Sally, the dolphin.

Speaker: I'm sorry. First of all, who's that? a You didn't care about her 30 minutes ago when we started this whole process. Yeah. And like, what does she look like? And she's like, oh, oh, no. I think she's downstairs. Like, so now we've got a search party. You know, that's my nightmare.

Speaker: That's my nightmare is when they when they they come downstairs and the animal is somewhere. The stuffed animal is somewhere downstairs. You're like, oh, my God. Burn it. Yeah. and I'll buy you another one. Like, go to bed. Like, yeah, it's.

Speaker: Literally a nightly inventory. i mean, to my children's defense, well, Beckett, not so much because he can't ever remember where it is. But Avery will be like, it's on the white table.

Speaker: So at least she gives me some sort of guidance. And the search party doesn't have to last as long. But like, we just went through an entire day and and bedtime process. And now is the time you bring up this problem.

Speaker: Mm-hmm. But that's like with anything though, right? Like they come downstairs like 18,000 times. Can i have water? Hey, I just wanted to tell you I love you. Like, go to bed. I've started to tell them, like, listen, i when mommy leaves this room, mommy's also going to bed.

Speaker: So I may be asleep. And that was listen, mine don't, mine don't care. Mine don't care. They'll come and peek in the room to see if I'm actually asleep. I'm like, get I'm like naked about to get the shower. I'm like, okay, you caught me. go get in bed. Like.

Speaker: Busted. Showering first. You got a full moon shot. You happy with yourself? Like to bed. Oh, right Did you just want to see the moon before bed? Well, here it is. Now go to bed. You got it. You got it.

Speaker: yeah yeahp You got caught and now it's confirmed. It's nighttime.

Speaker: It's not waxing. It's not waning. It's a full moon tonight, baby. Are you happy with yourself? I'm crying. I'm so hot now. I'm laughing so hard. But you have to think about it, though. Like, these little things to when they get it in their mind, whether it's, like, the color of their cup or, like, their specific water bottle or their stuffy that they have now, like, that in their mind, they know it's not in their bed.

Speaker: That is all that matters to them in that time. Like, that is... That is their world in that, in that moment. In that moment. It is. It is. It's so true. And it's stuff, right? It's stuff that like, at the end of the day, I guess like motherhood is just one of those things that it may seem insignificant problem to someone else.

Speaker: But like you said, it can feel so huge, so huge. in the moment when it's actually happening. And like, you have to invest like and as a mom, you're investing in that moment with them at that point, you know, saddle up because we're going on the ride together. Okay.

Speaker: I was about to say that. I'm like, I know we like this. Listen, that's why this is why this is called wine mama. Cause we can sit here and bitch and moan. And if someone on like is listening, it's like, Oh my God, all they do is fucking complain. Okay. Well, it's called wine mama. You knew that coming into this podcast. Yeah.

Speaker: you you You knew we were going to sit here and whine and complain. But I will say when you're looking for that freaking stuffy and you finally find it, i don't know who's happier. Like it's like the success of like, yes, mom found it. Or like, oh my gosh, mommy loves you so much. Look what I found. Or yeah here, I'm going to whip out this other plate that I just am going to wash and it's going be clean. And we're both going to have the pink plates and everybody's going to be happy going forward. Like, It is kind of a little like boost of just like, yeah. Energy.

Speaker: Yeah, it is. It is for both for both sides. Listen, we can. You just won the championship. Yes. That's what we asked. Now you don't get a trophy. No. You don't get a trophy, but you won.

Speaker: You did. In your mind. In your mind. And in here. Yeah. in your heart. that's And that's honestly where it matters the most.

Speaker: Now eat your dinner. Eat your dinner and sit down. The blue cup is all we have right now. but Go to bed or

Speaker: Oh my god. You freaking love pancakes. Eat them.

Speaker: everybody gets it because everybody's the same guys like you cannot tell you can't all the same right like these moments of just like and again if someone who does not have kids or like your parents or like outsiders are kind of like what like what's you know like it's like no you don't you'll get it you'll get it but like you don't you don't get this this is just we're just little cuckoo here we're not this is normal This is a normal, like I said in the beginning, this is a normal Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Speaker: on the dog. Like it just, it it's going to happen. Like, and you can't, here's one of the things like there's, these are mom problems, right? That you literally can't avoid.

Speaker: Like you like can't, there's no way to avoid them because when you think you've got it right, you know, you've got that frozen, you know, that is Charlie's turn for that frozen bowl. It wasn't, it wasn't. And she doesn't want it today.

Speaker: Yeah. You know, it's like curveballs, curveballs all the time. um be prepped Or like the different princess cups. I have like those, like, you know, those cups that you get to like target or with those those plastic cups, yes microplastics, but whatever.

Speaker: It's like, yeah I have a Tinkerbell, like fairy one. I have a Gabby's dollhouse and I have a princess one. You would think that by now I would know who wants what cup. No.

Speaker: every single day i may get two or three days where it's like the same one in aroma okay i'm we're okay we got we got patterns here we're looking about more charlie's learning about patterns we got patterns happening here and then it just goes to shit no no shit because literally like you said they look at you and they just know like it's time to ruin their day it's time to really spice things up everything's too calm here No, it's too calm. They know they have their little, they know they say how here they smell it.

Speaker: Not even they smell fear, but they smell happiness because at the end of the day you're like, okay, we're about to get to bed with like minimal, minimal issues here. And they're like, okay. not on my watch i'm dead that's so good like she's actually too happy right now let's let's not let that happen let's turn it up a notch time to crank it up crank it up oh my gosh the accuracy though because like maybe like we have to like think of it this way too right like maybe motherhood isn't about like

Speaker: I don't know, like avoiding these ridiculous problems at a certain point. We just have to accept that our life is just revolving around their little brains and just like how they have very strong opinions about certain things and that those opinions have a light switch.

Speaker: yeah And they can turn on and off whenever they want. And that is just what motherhood is. So you just have to roll with the punches no matter how much they hurt your feelings. How much a three-roll can hurt your feelings. And they can. Listen to previous episode. and You can probably hear a Charlie story. And I have got plenty of my sleeve about my feelings being hurt as well. So.

Speaker: Guys, it's that still cuts me deep. If you want to what about, let's listen to the last episode. She really, sure really got into it. was It was close to bedtime. And she's like, oh. Not on my watch, girly. We're going to bring you back down to to earth. They said, mommy's feeling confident today. let's Let's ruin her day. And let's really dig at what will hurt her the most. And she'll probably think about it and cry a little bit about it once I'm in bed.

Speaker: Bring her back down to to earth a little bit. And you know what? good Good on them. Good on and Put me in my place. But it is, yeah listen, like I said, it is it is fun when they do and they are looking for that specific animal and you're like, okay, let's go on the hunt. Let's find them. Or like, it's you know listen, we we say we say a bunch of silly things and we laugh on this podcast, but all in all,

Speaker: When we give them the thing that they are looking for or that they want and that joy and they're like so excited about like they're so excited about color of a cup or they're so excited about finding that lost water bottle. You guys, when was the last time you got excited about the color of a cup?

Speaker: True. Right? Or like finding a stuffed, like but we don't really sleep with stuffed animals anymore. And if you do, that's fine. But, you know, we don't sleep with stuffed animals anymore. Yeah. If you do, we're going to talk about you. If you do, we're going to about you offline. We're actually going to text about you later. Just shoot us a TM if you still tell sleep with a stuffed animal and then we're going to talk about you. Also send a picture. Send a picture of the stuffed animal. Picture of proof. um And that's why we, you know, have a little glass of wine to end the day and just kind of applaud ourselves. because so Give ourselves a little tap tap on the back for for making it through another tough one.

Speaker: Because 99 problems, baby. We've all got 99 problems. Mom specifically. We probably have more than 99. We just like to cap it at a number because it just yeah goes with the song. But you're so right. like Yeah, like you're right. Like we joke and it's all fun and games because it is true. Like these are true mom problems that other people are probably like, okay, that's so dumb.

Speaker: But no, like in the moment is so real. you have to like, find a way to justify like i'm not going crazy right like we're fighting over and water bottle that was purchased yesterday like are we okay like but it's so real to them and their tiny little minds and we just have to like accept and learn that this is just part of motherhood and at a certain point they're gonna lose that water bottle and it's all going to start all over again and it's just like you're just jumping back on that wheel like a little hamster wheel just did did did did did you running after that water bottle running after that yeahp lost that loss yeah we lost like you said but that's why we pour ourselves a glass of mo wine a glass of barolo if you will to circle back it's good doing it's good

Speaker: I'm telling you, why when I tried it and i was like, oh, is really good. i think I'm going to buy it. But like, we always come on here and try new wines. But I was like, know, this one's really, really good. When I heard the story behind it being like one from someone that they chose, I was like.

Speaker: I love that. I don't think I've ever seen like, is this like an aisle in the, like that they have to take you to? Like, I don't think I've ever even noticed that in ABC. It's like, if you are on like the outskirts, obviously the store is a square, a building, obviously the liquor is on one side. It's like on like ah a back wall. It's not like on an aisle. It's like on like a wall where there's still like bottles of wine and stuff, but it's on like a wall.

Speaker: It's like in an aisle or anything or like on an end cap or anything, but you'll see it. And that's literally. waler cruise It's for like a tasting. Yeah. but know calla I love that.

Speaker: I love that. Well, thanks Tom or John or Mark or whoever chose this one. I know. Yes. So I think he, I think he did a ah good job and I'm, I think I'm ready to.

Speaker: You ready to cork? Yeah. Okay. Let me take one more sip. I am enjoying it. it's just It is very odd to me how it truly does feel darker and deeper, like a more like solid versus what it looks, you know?

Speaker: ha i not that is why you don't judge a book by its cover, guys, because just because you can see the bottom of the glass doesn't mean it's going to be light and airy.

Speaker: Well, right. It made me like second guess it when I poured it. I was like, i I think are these are supposed to be more on the full body inside. But the taste definitely is. I'm very happy with this one. So.

Speaker: again we weren't so cro we weren't crawling on the floor like last week to find a wine last week was wrong my god just and to circle back on last week you guys she wanted me to drink that post food poisoning that's also why there was a delay could you have imagine a six dollar bottle of wine my god thank god for the delay you know um I think I know my corking trying to like, let me have one more set.

Speaker: I think I know mine. I'm going to wait until you know yours. I don't want to sway. and Don't sway me. Hold on. We've had a lot. I think we've had a lot of eights this season, so it gets kind of tricky. um Because, you know, as our listeners, we i want you guys to be like, oh, my God, they're just rating all of these wines highly. Everything's an eight. Yeah.

Speaker: Everything has been most. is Most have been really good this season. So we have been. I'm not going to wait and to slap that bag for Franzia. Listen, we already had i already had what? A two. I think I'm good. don't know. May not need a slap Franzia for that one.

Speaker: um but no i have my quirking i'm i'm it's funny because i also had that thought in my mind like i don't want to keep rating something in eight so like i really like dug deep okay quiy so jimina's going in the sevens are we oh my god are we getting barolo tattoo um okay i will go first okay well don't look at the nose because mine is in there oh i'm not my note my hands are my hands are up a giving I am giving this an 8.9.

Speaker: Wowee. Yeah. I went 7.8. Oh my gosh. We have been opposites. know. We're not in sync. We're not in sync with this one.

Speaker: i think it's very good. I would definitely drink it again. i think the only reason why i gave it a 7.8 is I deducted. Honestly, I started at a solid 8. And then I was like, damn, you're right. We have given a lot of just solid 8s. And I'm like, is there anything that I did not...

Speaker: enjoy and I did not enjoy that. There's no information on this line. Oh, my God. Jemina. We're not. That's little long deducted So, fine. If you want to keep it an eight, it was an eight. Okay. But I deducted the point two due to lack of information because there's no story to sell me on the background. Well, deducted point two points, not just point one. Yeah. I went double. I just feel like I like even numbers better than odds. And then I felt you were going to make fun of me if I said seven, nine. Yeah.

Speaker: So I was like, all right, i have to do seven, eight. So if you want my true corking, it's an eight. But like on paper, I'm doing seven, eight, just because like, I'm going to stick true to what I'm saying. And i i want to know the background of this wine.

Speaker: i feel like the storyline always sells me more on wanting to support a wine, you know, and a brand. going to be my mission now to find it. And it's going to be like this little old man who started this on a hill. Oh my God. Nine instant nine.

Speaker: It's going to be, you're going to get a 10. It's going to be Giuseppe's face. It's me, Giuseppe's face right here. but

Speaker: but Okay, fine. I'm changing mine to my original, which was an eight. Okay. But just so you all know, you heard it here first. I did deduct points due to lack of information. Maybe Giuseppe doesn't know how to use a computer. I'll give him that.

Speaker: Maybe not. You know, but like, you could don't you love the story of the wines? Like that really sells me on wanting support, like the company and like, Like, and so that's why I just felt strongly like if I had to deduct points, who was that? i happy minute I love the story and I love telling the story to our listeners. I think it's always like interesting. Now, I don't know if they like, maybe they use the fifth, like the fast forward 15 seconds and speed through our storytelling. You guys don't know. Yeah. Don't do that. We spend so much time.

Speaker: Like you guys, you guys should really not do that because, okay, let me let me get my spiel. Okay. Give me give me 10 seconds of your time. Okay. The reason why you should listen to the stories is because some of these stories, one are freaking nuts. Okay.

Speaker: Two, some of them are like so tenderhearted. They just pull out your heartstrings and no matter how shitty the wine is, you want to give them a good score because you're like, this company came from the, from the nothings.

Speaker: And look at them now, you know? so you should really, really listen to the stories behind the wine. there There's so many so interesting. Specifically, sorry, I know my 10 seconds is up. But specifically, if y'all didn't listen to the stories about the president wine.

Speaker: Oh. if you If you've been here this season, you know. i think it's two episodes back. You need to go listen. That one is actually like... So interesting. And you would never... interesting. You would never know by like seeing this wine on a shelf. You would never...

Speaker: Never know. There was a wine a couple seasons ago where Jamina created an entire murder mystery plot around it. And I was like no can't come i'm like, we can't say this about this family. I remember that one. I remember that one because like, where did they go Like, where did they go? they They're just telling me they just disappeared on the field and they were never found again. Like, we're not going bring that back. That was a rumor I started and i felt bad because the wine was actually, i think it was okay. There were like some parts of it I actually had to crop out because i was like, Jamina, you can't say these things. I literally started a rumor.

Speaker: About that wine company. Not the wine mama rumor. Not the wine mama rumor mill. Oh my God. Not the rumor mill. I'm definitely on Reddit. they come They come for us. I'm like, it's specifically her.

Speaker: Yeah. It's literally just me. But you guys, like if you guys were to read the storyline, like, and you watch true crime. You changed my mind. Anyways. All signs are pointing to foul play.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: All signs are pointing to foul play. and That ain't the truth. So anyways, that is why you guys should definitely not skip over the wine descriptions because some of them are truly like, they're just so good. They really are so good.

Speaker: So anyways, that's why deducted 0.2 points, but i'm back at an eight because now I feel bad because I thought about Giuseppe being an old guy and not being able to use the internet. So so it's probably like an 1800s wine, but I'm going let you ride this. I'm going to let you ride this into the end of the episode. So now that is a wrap. That's our show. That is all the crazy mama tea we have for today. Thank you so much for listening. Don't forget to rate and review us on whatever platform you're listening on.

Speaker: And we mean it, you guys. Rate and review us. As always, tell all your friends and keep on whining. Cheers.
