Speaker: Welcome to Wine Mama, a podcast where two bestie moms whine while they whine. I'm Annie. And I'm Jemina. Let's whine. Happy back to school week to most of us. I am pretty positive. A lot of people either started last week, this week, or next week.
Speaker: But this week is a is the Wine Mama's tour. So... Welcome to Wine Mamas back to school chaos. But thankfully, it's not going to be too chaotic because I think I don't know about you over there, but I have a tried my best to prep.
Speaker: We, you know, the prep work went in. you guys, the grocery store is this weekend. I would love to know what grocery stores make the weekend before school starts because it it was Just wild. We divided and conquered. Greg went to Costco. I went to Publix. And then we reconvened and was like, here's the loot. Here's what we got. um I will say Publix BOGOs this week were...
Speaker: on brand. I'm with you. So good. So, so good. I spent like, I mean, I'll tell you guys like my, help what I spent the grocery, but I spent like a little over a hundred dollars. I saved $85, $85 because of that's how many bogos I got. I spent like maybe like one 10, one 15 is what I spent.
Speaker: That's amazing. And again, saved $85 because everything was BOGO. And I was like, this is this is my back to school shopping dream. This my back to shopping dream. It is. The savings. But honestly, great call out because this is Tuesday. And you guys, as a reminder, Publix, you have one more day to get these back to school deals. Not to turn this into a Publix ad, but like they change everything on Thursdays. And if your children like Once Upon a Farm, like my children do. Oh, my only the purple top okay first of all only the purple top but if you're children they're buy one get one free right now and when i tell you i cleared them out of the purple tops because these suckers are like four dollars each so expensive so expensive so crazy how they get their veggies in so i have to keep buying them did you see the catalina crunch um snack mix is bogo it is no that was not in the front for me
Speaker: Oh, ours was ours is but well ours was on the um it's over by like the chips and stuff as were. Oh, um it wasn't like in like a little. Oh, here we are like front spot. No. Yes. So I got four of them and I got four different flavors to try.
Speaker: Oh, what other flavors are there? Do share you guys. This is like a protein stock mix. Ten out of ten. I will say right Greg said it was gross, but like I kept eating. Well, okay. You have to think about like a cheddar Chex Mix, right? Like a cheddar Chex Mix is supreme. So you're looking at a healthier option.
Speaker: You're taking out a lot of the junk. Okay. let's Let's be honest. So you can't think about, you can't compare it to the Chex Mix. You just can't. But the i got the cheddar. i got the, oh my gosh, to forget them. I got a honey mustard. I got the traditional and I got the ranch.
Speaker: Honey mustard sold. I am going to Publix tomorrow. Yes. Yeah. Sold on the honey mustard alone. Yeah. I could, I could literally have an entire episode on Publix bogos and how I'm so obsessed with like, you guys, the thrill, tell me I'm 30 something without telling me I'm 30 something. The thrill I get when I realized that it's Thursday and I have to do a grocery run and I get to look at what bogos are, are live this week.
Speaker: Yes. Listen, don't disturb me as I'm scrolling the BOGOs. When something that we always use and I can put it on my list and every, every list I make, whatever is on BOGO has BOGO next to it so that I won't forget. You got to grab, you got to grab two.
Speaker: So if it says like today, pickles, BOGO, Belgian boy, Belgian boy waffles, but BOGO. Oh, yes. Those are so good, too. Okay. Yeah. Speaker: also senior year. I didn't, so sad. I didn't think about that because I, um had like a little sad moment because Aubrey, they did senior sunrise.
Speaker: So she stayed the night at a friend's house, um, the night before school and they're going out to the beach to watch sunrise together and they're going to school together. So like, I don't really get her before she goes to school, which like makes me so sad. But again, it's one those things it's like, I'm so happy for you. That sounds So fun. um anywho. Sounds amazing. But also, I would be showing up to senior sunrise in my car.
Speaker: Yeah. I won't disturb, but, like, binoculars. and You guys are here, too. This is so crazy. i also come out to the beach on Monday mornings to watch the sunrise by myself. like No, Aubrey would kill. Aubrey would actually She'd actually kill me. But yeah, senior year, second grade, VPK.
Speaker: we got it we got a lot of things happening. Yes. Big milestones for real. Yeah, no, we are in second grade as well over here. But because my child decided to be born further into September, unfortunately, she missed the cutoff for VPK this year. She'll have to be the oldest in class, which, you know, some of us know about those trials and tribulations. You're either the oldest or the youngest. And it is what it is. I know Annie is the on the younger crowd group, but literally the youngest by like almost oh a week. I like a week the mark by like a week. Yeah. A week. Yeah. A week. Cause it's September 1st. So, and Avery is September 18th. So she just missed it. And you guys, If you guys were to see like, first of all, Avery's already tall. And if you guys were to see me, the teacher, and like these three-year-olds that are walking in there, the way she towers... Like me and Ben like questioned if she was in the right class. Like we're like, is this the older three's class? Because...
Speaker: She is like babies. yes She is. So well even her with Charlie, like, yes, Charlie's just Charlie's a charlie six months older. She's six months older, but everyone thinks she's younger because she's just like, and it's so funny because I think Avery finally realized when we all um had her, um, um I was gonna say staycation but when we all went on our trip because she was like Charlie you show and I tall and was like you I know but she's technically older than you I was like she's six months older than you she's gonna understand yeah she like couldn't understand that and I'm like she thought she was but she goes no I'm bigger and I'm like in size like height yes but in age she's bigger and like she like could not fathom that but yeah we've got just big kids and I just I honestly like cry every school because I'm like so sad and Becca knows like he will ask me he's like are you gonna cry again this year and I'm like yeah buddy because like how are you in second grade like you were literally just my chunk baby and I just can't believe you're in second grade and you're just gonna keep growing and growing you and it makes me very sad and he's like but I'm excited and like no yeah it's like I am too but like I'm not it's again we talk about this all the time it's like yeah
Speaker: Yeah. It's like exciting, but sad. and And two things can be true. Two things can be true at the same time. I know. And I honestly like cannot stop thinking about what you said last episode when you were like, I just had to let go. I like, let I'm not kidding. Like this whole past week, like I've just been thinking of like things like, okay, i just have to let go. Like I just have to like,
Speaker: let him try things and not yeah like helicopter him, you know, within an extent, I will say within an within, within reason, because then it's like you let go and then you see these really cool things yeah come happen in for them, especially as they get older. Like, it's like, you know? Yeah. So, um, I, I agree. And I'll share a super quick story because this happened like over the summer and it reminded me of a letting go moment. I took the kids to Costco for lunch and it was just me, Avery and Beckett.
Speaker: And we sit in like the little picnic tables and I got their food. And then Becca was like, Oh, I can go get it. I can go, I can walk all the way up to the counter, which is, it was pretty far. Like there was a lot, you y'all know Costco on a week on a weekend, like it's freaking packed. Right. He said, I can go get an extra plate. And I was like, you know what? I'm going to let you. And so I let him go get an extra plate. But of course I like stood up like from our table and just kind of like peek to make sure I could like see him and turn off he went. And then he went again to go get waters. And, um, there was an old,
Speaker: like a grandma and grandpa sitting next to me. And when they both got up to go get their waters and I was like, you guys can do it. You guys are big kids. Like I'll, I'll stay here to save our table. Cause again, it was packed. no The grandma and the grandpa looked over at me and they're like, you're such a good mom for letting them try. And i was like, oh, thank you. But yes, I'm still watching them though. Like, I'm, you know, I know that I was like, thank you so much. i was like, that's, you know, I'm trying to like, let them. My helicopter blades are are yeah my here are ready to go because if someone even like approaches them or looks at them weird, I'm ready to attack. Yeah. but thank you so much. Yes. I'm trying to like, let them just do big things and like, honestly learn respects, like of how to talk to adults and stuff like that. So yeah it reminded me of that. So now I always think of that when you say, it's like, you just, there just comes a point that you just have to let go. And that's so sad.
Speaker: But I feel like if I start now, it won't be as hard. I'll just let go now. won't be as hard if my child goes to Greece without me. Fast forward however many years from now. But that is why we have this lovely glass of wine. going to pronounce the wine. But are you ready to wine with our wine of the week? Yes, I am so ready to wine with this wine. So this week we are whining with, okay, this is not how I, so i'm I'm not super positive on how you say this word, but I'm going to say it in like the Spanish way to say it in case was like, I mean, different Spanish cultures say words differently, but that's just my preface in case I didnt insult anyone. Okay. But it's aguijón de abeja, which is a Malbec. And aguijón, we looked it up because I was like, I don't even know what this word means in Spanish. And it's it's the stinger of a bee. So abeja is a bee.
Speaker: And aguijón is the sting or stinger. And that's not how... in front of why we say it so that's why like i was like i don't know what this means but the bottle you guys is so cute the bottle first of all i had to have jamina's could you guys imagine me saying that we i was like ignore yeah yeah i was like jamina this is an argentinian malbec which you guys know argentina is very very very well known for their malbecs um yep but i was like you mean you've got to say this but look are you hit ignore okay ignore i mean don't ignore the cowboy hat don't ignore the cowboy hat don't disrespect the cowboy hat This is Amazon for anyone who's wondering, but I love the stripes on the neck of the bottle. Speaker: um And then the bee on it is just so sorry, you guys. My light is like, there we go. The bee is so cute. I just love this bottle. It's like watercolor. Yeah, it's so cute. Speaker: I know. I am too. all right, Annie, kick it off. All right. So brothers Hector and Pablo were born in Mendoza, Argentina. Their childhood and their home were always connected to a sensorial world with aromas, ingredients, and flavors that over time motivated them to choose the path to become I'm going to pronounce this so so wrong. In an enologist, which is like the study of wine.
Speaker: As adults, they would find these familiar memories and similar passions. Since 2002, they have been dedicated to their project as a small family winery. Today, the brothers have evolved to form the new generation of winemakers leading an evolutionary change in Argentina's viticulture. With that same spirit, the Duragudi brothers, i hope I pronounced that correctly, craft their wines and have started to write their own history, a family legacy in a chosen place where they live and work daily with dedication. Love that it's two brothers. How how cool.
Speaker: That is very cool, especially like knowing you're doing something with your sibling that you're like passionate and like love. Like that's amazing. And i again, i just think the attention, first of all, for it to be two brothers and the attention to detail of what this bottle looks like. I know. There's got to be a wife in involved.
Speaker: Yeah. Who's the art director? who's Who's the creative? Who's the creative here? Yeah, exactly. Like I need a shout out to the creative. because ah You know what? If it's them, kudos. Kudos. we will have I have to read before you do the tasting notes and everything. I have to read the back the back of the bottle. It says, the sun is high over the sprawling vineyards in Rio Negro. There is a buzz as little honeybees drift in the wind floating among the nearby wildflowers and Malbec winenes or balbec vines. Malbec grapes are plucked from the vines and their fragrance perfumes join the abejas buzz on the breeze, undefined and unfiltered. I just like, I feel like that paints such a lovely picture of this of this vineyard, right? That is so nice. and I know, I forgot I wanted to read that.
Speaker: Now it makes it more devastating if we don't like it. i wish you hadn't read it now. I know. i know. tell us Tell us what we're going to be. Tell us a little bit more about the wine itself. Well, real quick before the the notes, it is very affordable, $16 to $20. We got ours at ABC. So it's pretty attainable. I feel like when when we say we found our wine at ABC, it just opens up the variety of, you can probably find this wine in a lot of places. I feel like ABC is very broad when it comes to right that, if you will. Agreed. But As far as the tasting, it looks like there will be some notes of ripe black fruit, nuts, ground spice, and smoky cedar on the nose.
Speaker: smokey car on the nose Bright and juicy with medium to full body and fine tannins, firm and linear. What is linear? Linear means like, isn't linear like straight? A line.
Speaker: Right? Linear line. A straight line. You guys listen, we weren't really big on English or math or like we're we were more like maybe like culinary arts.

Speaker: But you guys, she was, she wrote a song for Toy Story 5, which if as a millennial, we grew up with Toy Story. Like we were children. We were Andy. And then we became Andy's mom. Like we, the fact.
Speaker: It happened really fast. It happened really fast, you guys. But like, i first of all, obsessed with the song. I going to say, we had to pause. The song is so it's so good. And just like the, the rhythm of it is just so good. It's so good. It's so good. It's giving old Taylor, it's giving teardrops on my guitar, Tim McGraw vibes. And like, even Ben said it, Ben was like, I love this song because it sounds like her old, like back when it was like more country side.

Speaker: Yeah. So, and then of course the next thing is she. She gets married to Travis. There was lot of speculation around that too. Like everyone was thinking it was Madison Square Garden. And then like the closer that it got. And then the plans came out of like what roads were blocked and things like that. It was like, well, this is definitely what it is. But then even afterwards, people were like, it was all a setup. They got married before somewhere, like all of this stuff. So, but I, I can only imagine. i mean, I wish I I would love to see pictures. I get why, like it was a,

And then now I think we're really getting like true confirmation that they did get married. So good. They, i mean, listen, they have been like stealing the spotlight this summer with the, uh, both being in the Odyssey and then being in Spider-Man, the new, new, new, age a new age or something like that. yeah Right.

They brought it back for Summer House with West, Amanda, and Sierra, which is like insane, you guys. The reunion was unreal. And the crazy part about it, too, is they will they were filming...
Speaker: they had stopped filming Summer House, but they went straight into In the City, which is like a spinoff. I guess it's a spinoff, I don't know. And Amanda and Kyle are in that. So like you see it happening and they ask the same questions. Like, when did you know? Like how this, wild. Wild that this has happened yet again the Bravo universe. Speaker: lan She is everywhere. Like she did a lot of things for FIFA, which the world cup was a huge thing this summer. That was also very, trendy and the world cup just brings her everybody together you guys i just have to give an honorable mention to the world cup it was so fun watching everyone like love us like we're cool like we get such a bad rap for being like like just sucking honestly like everyone's like america sucks let's be honest like that's what they think of us but everyone was just like Coming over here and like just loving each other, loving it over here, experiencing new things, like people coming and going to Bucky's for the first time or eating barbecue for the first time. Ranch. Ranch was a hot topic. The ranch and the ranches ranch company, Hidden Valley, coming out with TSA-approved ranches so people could bring them back. People's hauls of what they were bringing back, I'm like, okay, you guys know that we can put a lot more shit in our food than you can... over there, right? Like yeah you guys know that your tummies are going to hurt. Yeah. For a long time. Like we would have taken, like, it takes years to build up whatever, whatever these, is yeah these immunities to whatever the hell is in these, these things that we eat. Speaker: I didn't. So, I had the books, like, saved to read. And then when i the way when the series came out, I was like, well, do I need to? I eventually will. um Yeah. And because it became, like she literally she has so many TikToks and videos out just saying thank you so much off campus for choosing my song. Like because it brought her to the light that she is now. And she's a great singer. I'm not going to lie. She's a great singer. love that.

Speaker: I'm wondering what this comeback is going to be like. I saw this comment and someone's like, don't make it easy for them. Make them code their own like background. Make them do that. I'm yeah, it's so it's going to be like the little twinkle things that can fall down. Yes. The song.
Speaker: Yes, everything. How you had to like, if you wanted your words like middle, like there were specific coding that you had to do to have your profile look a little bit different. So I'm excited to see like, if it's truly coming back, what is it coming back looking like? yeah um So only time, only time will tell you But also like, I feel like people right now are just everything hurts their feelings and you know everything's so automated they need a top eight they need to be put in places that we like ah like i said in the beginning nothing can hurt us you guys we had to do top eights like we know where we stand in people's hearts and lives at a certain week or day um so you piss somebody off you're out of there you piss somebody money off you're out you're out of the top eight bring it on um yeah so um I think so moving on to more recent news, too that's more like alarming, sad news. We've kind of just done all the fun pop culture stuff, but there's also been a lot of pop culture stuff that has happened that is very like alarming and eye opening. And one of the main ones like super recent happened is the Perez Hilton live on TikTok.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. I, I did not. I did not see it. I caught it by the time everyone was, I think I was say a couple hours later where everyone was talking about it. It had been wiped off the internet. People were saying like, yeah, he was, he was harming himself on tick tock live.
Speaker: And people were like tuning in and seeing this. And I think social media was the ones that like called attention to it. Yeah. But then they took obviously took everything down. So I caught it at the point where people were like, hey, if you like haven't seen it, don't don't watch it. It's wildly disturbing. yeah so I did not have any interest in sleuthing around and trying to find.
Speaker: I think X is the only place where you could still find videos. Unfortunately, I saw a so a short clip of it and I can see why people at first were like, is that paint? Like, is he painting himself? Like they couldn't really understand what was happening.
Speaker: But I think the video that I saw did not have audio. And apparently the audio was also very, very alarming of the things that he was saying as he was doing this. And I will say like when I watched the short clip that I saw, it did look like red paint all over his body. But then you actually see him with a knife, like literally just cutting his stomach, his like shoulder, his neck, like just everywhere. And it looks like it's, it's a serrated knife. So it didn't look like it was like one of those like super, because he would have like, he could have really done some bad damage if it was like a super sharp knife. Like, I don't know. I'm sure it was sharp because it was cutting him obviously, but like, yeah.
Speaker: What? To me, when you're doing that to your neck, like if you cut a carotid artery there, like that's just a gushing, like you're not standing up anymore, you know? Yeah.
Speaker: But I think what he was saying was also very alarming. And I guess people were like asking him, like they were trying to join his life to like take him off the ledge and like, what's your phone number? Where do you live? Like, how can we, you know, don't do this to yourself. You know, you are awful.
Speaker: Awful. Just very awful. And I honestly, this is the first time I found out that he had kids. He has three young kids. They had just moved to Miami. um So this happened in Dade City or not Dade City, but Dade County, which is Miami. So he lives somewhere down there now. And it's just so sad. that He's hospitalized now. I hope he's getting the help that he needs. And I know that i know he's done a lot of damage in his years of work verbally to celebrities. um But i I'm sure none of these celebrities would have ever hoped or wished this upon him. And I think recently he had actually made a very like tearful, sad apology about all of that. Like right before he was hospitalized before or something or before he was remi, there was like a very sad apology. video that he was like, I'm so sorry for everything I've ever said. i was i'm not the person I'm not that person anymore or something like that. And I saw a small clip of that.
Speaker: But very sad. Very sad news in pop culture. Everyone knows who he is. so like it's He was like the yeah he's like the original like celebrity... not blogger, but like news, go like gossip. Yeah. I like, ah I mean, I remember like, like I remember Perez Hilton so vividly like way, way back in the day he had all the tea. I mean, good and bad and had lots of things to say about everybody, but you don't want to see that to happen to have one anyone. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. Anyone. Another South Korea we got this summer was, I mean, that not, as sad and terrible as that, but Jelly Roll and Bunny broke up, which I was really, really so shocked about. I know there's they're still planning to have a baby together, um which, I mean, good for them, them but I was so so, surprised. It just goes to show you really can't believe everything you see because- they looked they looked story that they were yeah yeah so that was kind of sad to hear but again it seems like she's he's my best friend we're still having a baby together and i'm like then what was it right like someone like what was it just tell us and then recently like the daughter came out it was like if i told you guys the real reason the real reason you guys wouldn't believe and i'm like okay well what is it like
Speaker: What is it? Because she went on the podcast and like addressed it. And he also addressed it at one concert was like, if y'all want to know what happened, go listen to Bunny's podcast. That's all I'm going to say about it We are still friends. We still love each other. we still care for each other. And we're still going have a baby together type of vibe. So I'm just like, well, what happened? Yeah, I know.
Speaker: Something had to happen. i know. You can still be like best friends like that. It's like, wait, Or do we just, do we just like believe, I don't know, like what, what happened? um But to end all the sad news and craziness, the final thing and that is currently and actively inundating my mind and I'm sure it's inundating everyone else's mind. And we've brought this subject up before in the past is the Lindsay Clancy postpartum psychosis trial that's going on. And you guys, I was gung ho on,
Speaker: She had a postpartum psychosis crisis. Let her be. it it was a mental decision until the trial. He is so guilty. he is guilty. You can't convince me.
Speaker: I did not want to watch the trial just because of how sad the entire situation is. And i did not want to have to like, ah truthfully, I just didn't want to have to like watch it and see the details and see this poor woman like talking about what happened to her. Like, it's just awful.
Speaker: Um, but now i am like, holy hell, this is the, I can't wait for the next Netflix documentary. And I cannot wait for like, it's getting juicier and juicier every day. Just kind of like makes you kind of like scratch your head and be like, huh? Like he, he, he's fishy. He is fishy, fishy, fishy.
Speaker: Something is not adding up, you guys. And when I tell you, when he has to take the stand again and her lawyer has to question him, i can't it's going down.
Speaker: Because whoever her lawyer is, she hired a top-notch guy because he is asking the right questions to the right people. And so far, he has not been – Patrick has not been – Patrick is the husband – has not been committed of anything. It's still a trial in regards to this. And again, no one is saying she didn't kill the kids or try to kill herself. They've accepted that, but they were trying to justify that it was a mental crisis. But you guys, it's his DNA was on the bands that were on the children, not hers.
Speaker: She changed her power of attorney in the hospital. yeah He sent an email from his laptop. Now he can't remember, allegedly. At first, he said it was from his laptop. And then when the lawyer asked him again, he said it was, oh, I don't know, maybe my phone at 524, which puts him at the scene of the crime.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. you guys. Well, and he's, and he's also like showing absolutely zero negative amounts of emotion. It's like actually kind of like scary, like kind of scary how he's just like do nothing. Whereas they were like recounting what happened. Like she was like, they almost, i think they either almost had to take her out of the room or they did have to take her out of the courtroom. She wasn't even talking. They were just recounting it and she was uncontrollable. ah Uncontrollable. Yeah.
Speaker: And he remarried four months later. and I'm sorry, but someone who had just experienced that, like, yeah which now it's so much makes sense. Cause I remember like when the article came back, ah the article came out that was like, I forgive her was the title.
Speaker: And I read it and i was like, wow, that takes a strong man to that, to recognize that, to you know, recognize that his wife went through a crisis and blah, blah, blah. And then now i'm looking back, like, okay, you were just trying to paint a nice picture. You guys, you cannot convince me otherwise. I am i am on this Patrick did it train. know. And now and i will just obsessed. They're saying that the lawyer, what i so what I've seen is the lawyer contacted her to do this pro bono. So like he's not getting paid. so everybody's like, yeah. So they're like, who is taking this case pro bono if they...
Speaker: don't think they're going to look, they don't know already have something they know they're going uncover. And so everyone's like that. He's basically painting the picture and like taking out these little seeds and planting them and all like creeping along. And like at the very end, I'm hoping that it is like blindly,
Speaker: him evident yes yes what a turn of events first of all i mean don't get me wrong she clearly was suffering and going through things she was on the medication she needed to be but like they're trying to paint the picture i will say they they were trying to paint some sort of picture of like she was all all these medications at once and that wasn't the case um you know i would say It's just such a wild thing.
Speaker: Such a wild, like, I don't know, such a wild thing to watch and see it like, okay, wait, what? Like your DNA was on the stuff. And then I saw something too that was like um the 911 call that he, um he said she killed the fucking kids. I'm like, who, okay, who says that?
Speaker: that was his first That was his first thing. He, that's the first thing that he said. The first thing that he said when he called 911. Like who, who says it in that manner? Like in that manner, she killed the, fuck no, I'd be like my babies, my, my, my heart, my, Oh my God. Like my kids, something's wrong with my kid. Like that would be my reaction. Right. Like I can't find them. I don't know what she did. Like not she killed the fucking kids and her trachea being destroyed.
Speaker: But she told him that the kids were in the basement. Yeah. up Again, I'm on this train. like I'm going to put a little table out and it's going to say change my mind and I need people to approach me and try to change my mind. because tell me Tell me otherwise because yeah all signs are pointing to all signs are pointing to him and it's also we had um anna on the show and she recounted how she lived through postpartum psychosis. And it's very, very scary. Obviously she's on the other side of it. And, but her story is very, very powerful. so it makes me just so sick to think that this man, obviously he is so fucked up in the head. so sorry. So fucked up in the head that he would take something that's happening to her. And like,
