When I sketched it, um originally the idea that I had, you know, I'm from the Caribbean, but I grew up in New York and I'm a hat enthusiast. Yeah. And I got an opportunity to design a hat.

And the first thing that came to mind was like, I need to make my own Yankee. Yeah. Yeah. You know, that's the hat. Yeah. You know, so. um So when the opportunity came and I told him, was like, hey can I please make a Yankee? They were like, we don't have the license to do that. Yeah.

You know how we grew up in New York, you know the culture. yeah You already know, like, gonna like, what the fuck, what's that? Can I, can I?

There was definitely definitely a transitional phase um in New York when the pandemic hit. The city was kind of like a shell of itself. I mean, if you're from here or you were here at that time, you know exactly what I'm talking about. you know It was three years ago, four years ago. It was like me it feels like eons ago. like It does. like yeah see It feels like such a different generation. but um Yeah, like my my manager definitely brought that to my attention. and um I was okay like, okay, let's roll with that. And it just stuck.
