Speaker: Hey, what's up y 'all? This is former NASCAR driver Bill Lester. rainbows The Brickyard belongs to... Boba! Wallace wins it in the...
Speaker: This is NASCAR's chief hype officer, Mamba Smith. you're listening to Bye. make no mistake it's more history for hamilton lewis hamilton wins a grand prix And to my family, I love you.
Speaker: It's the fans, thank you for everything. Continue to remind me who I am. I'm Bob Pockers with Fox Sports. I'm listening to Victory Lane Vox.
Speaker: That sounds like you about to... Mink me up in an alley, but all right. I'm just glad i'm just glad I asked. About the details on the hotel room because after the race on Sunday. i'm gonna take my happy ass back to the hotel and it would have been like what room Yeah. the room you're about to buy. that that was I'm so glad I don't.
Speaker: I just assumed you were either going to go back or just crash with me. That's what I figured. I mean, that makes absolute sense. But yeah, for some reason, now I was just like, you know. Wait, did y 'all not get the room together?
Speaker: No, we did, but I only did one one night. I did Saturday. This is great. Or are you going to stay Sunday? My house. Go home. Is Peyton coming with you?
Speaker: Yes. I am now, but I didn't realize that until until like I sent a text. Well, you better hope it's a fast Southern 500. They're starting at an hour earlier, which is messed up.
Speaker: I did notice that. Fine. It's a holiday weekend. You ain't got shit to be. listen we'll so Listen, you come in through. We'll drop off the car, we'll go over to the Waffle House, and then we'll park outside of Micro Center since they're right across the street.
Speaker: And we'll just. We'll just... Watch the sunrise. I've been browsing the listings, man. computer The computer parts are so damn expensive. I can't justify.
Speaker: You can. I might still go in the store maybe. I don't know. but just then If you want to listen, we can take a trip over there. I can. Ooh, that actually would be fun. Cause I can go see if that guy got fired or not. That dude that like.
Speaker: Fucked up all my shit and then tried to blame me. We'll see. We'll see how my ah wife and mom are dealing with. us it's not It's not just us that blames you for things. That that makes us feel better.
Speaker: I mean, listen, most geniuses are not appreciated in their time, and I just happen to be the latest in the long line. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine. no he really did fuck up my shit though and was like oh it's your fault and then his manager It was like. Oh. You shouldn't have been told that.
Speaker: I'm sorry. who was it the tall guy who did that i was like yep he was like bet. Perfect. Thank you. just power walked away and i was like oh that That's a nightmare of employment, although he's still they're still employed, so they're doing enough.
Speaker: Well, I haven't been back since then, though. So I feel like this is like the latest of a series. of That might have been the last straw. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, I think this is the one that just. yeah sound fired on his day that's crazy I didn't do anything to him. He did it to himself. was the only one I had to pay 90 bucks to find out that something they gave me was broken. So I think I'm the real loser in that. That was the most convoluted warranty program ever. It's like.
Speaker: Hey, you've got a warranty on it, but we're still going to charge you just so we can get the warranty started. Yes, exactly. That's my only bad experience at Micro Center. I honestly feel like if I had talked to somebody else, they probably would have been like, yeah, we'll just fix this for free. We're not going to charge you 90 bucks, but like, yeah.
Speaker: you know You don't know what you don't know. Yeah. It's whatever. But yeah, it's going to be fun. We're going to have a good time. We're going to be in the people. We'll be up in a stuffy press box.
Speaker: All right. Now I see you're being, us okay, nevermind. You're being. I'm gonna have a good time. What do you mean? I'm gonna have a blast. I don't know about you. Why would I have not have a good time? I love Darlington. I've never been to Darlington. i' i'm wearing a Good track. Great track.
Speaker: At least once. I don't think there's press boxes at Darlington anyway. So. Fun fact. i mean Huh. huh No, they gotta have something for like the local folk. What now? All right,
Speaker: But yeah, i I like Darlington, so I'm excited to go. I'm very much looking forward to it. I will not be joining you for your sad Sunday morning run. I can tell you that. The hiatus continues.
Speaker: No, that's fine, but I'm also... hunting out breakfast spots, man. We gotta get a good breakfast. You just said Waffle House. Is that that good enough? No it's not. Are we live?
Speaker: Are we live? If not, go live so I can say that again. oh We are. You can't. go yeah Tweet them while you're at it so they did i know it's real. Yeah. like listen i think i've said before man the but the day i got sober is the day that Cookout and Waffle House stopped tasting as good.
Speaker: you need to be stabbed let stop going that stuff don't hit right without the ethanol in your system I disagree. ah Thank you. I over disagree as well. I have frequented cookout not drunk. So I can say I enjoyed this out so much.
Speaker: I got i like sober. I am a very bad influence because there were several times Mal was like, should I get cookout? And I was like, hell yeah, you should. Is that even a question? If the option is available, then yeah, you should. I left the truck race in Nashville early to go get cooked out. Go home. What priorities?
Speaker: You're the only do -gooder in here, Peyton. The rest of the bed. I mean... I support all of your decisions except for that one. We don't we don't always have time for avocado toast in the morning. No, you ain't even that, but like...
Speaker: Listen.
Speaker: I'll give him this. I want to watch a ah manager cuss out his chef. for not getting the order ready fast enough. exactly I need that in the morning. It fuels me. yeah man listen you you get that's some stick to your ribs type food Absolutely.
Speaker: That's what you need for a day at the track is Waffle House. How are they not a sponsor and in NASCAR, man? That's what I'm saying. they fumble because every every time i've gone we got into richmond we go it's full of racing folks It's packed every time. Every time.
Speaker: Now, we're going to find ourselves a nice... Nice. place for breakfast. and local favorites. and It's going to be a good time. Once again.
Speaker: Waffle House is a local favorite. Just because it's detained doesn't mean it's... It's managed by locals. We're supporting the local community. You're you helping someone who lives there. It's a local franchise.
Speaker: I think the last time we had Waffle House was my wife and I in South Carolina. We were coming back from this race. And we stayed in Columbia, South Carolina, in a part -time called Two Notch.
Speaker: ah which we found out is not the nice part of Columbia. when we We realized that when we get to the nastiest holiday and I've ever seen in my life, like. it It looked like the ghetto in that hotel. There was there some kid, running little baby running around.
Speaker: No supervision. The Waffle House after like 10 p .m., you couldn't go inside. It was strictly you stay your ass outside because it's too dangerous. it's too dangerous Stay outside and we will just slide the food through the door.
Speaker: There's a Waffle House like that in Nashville that's only to -go orders. It's probably has the best food. The best Waffle House in the city, man. Absolutely.
Speaker: It was okay, but our whole hotel the whole hotel smelled like feet. So the food did not... taste us I mean, depending on who you are, that might be... ah You know what? Depending on who you are. I didn't say i didn't say me. I didn't say me.
Speaker: I said depending on who you are. what's my My favorite quote is, I am not kink shaming, I am kink asking why. That is my favorite quote. I just want to understand.
Speaker: Yes. diabolical even for those who support such nefarious activities. on that. Grand of a scale. Let's die powerful.
Speaker: Diabolical.
Speaker: We got more than 26 here. No. 26 watt. but ah ah no no no no we're live No, no, no, no. No. No. No no. No, no, no,
Speaker: We don't need the ganglions.
Speaker: the but' do that I'm not going to say something because I don't want to cause internal strife. It's bad enough. We're already... ah Moderately.
Speaker: good or moderately decent. Buen Amigo! Why don't we end the show so I can get all the intrusive thoughts out? That's what I want to know. I'm telling you, that can be the... I can be behind the paywall.
Speaker: We can just do it now. That needs to be, uh, the, that's the, the... Well, Homestead now, the Homestead episode. That could just be like the last three minutes in history of the show is just me.
Speaker: Getting it off my chest. Be my last chance. No? Okay. Too soon. We just paywall it. You really love to charge a abandon man, man. You're all about a buck. i don't know if i told jared this team's race but i told i told art this dude uh jared is like Ed from Ed, Edd n Eddy.
Speaker: He was always just trying to scheme scheme his way. Like, listen, here's how we're going to make this lick. Hey, look, bro. gotta You got to be able to lift some challenge, right?
Speaker: and just Those who say. Money doesn't buy happiness or both sides. That's all I'll say about that. I'm just saying is that i'm not so I'm surprised that the pillow you let me borrow didn't come with one of those quarter returns that you had at the grocery carts.
Speaker: i so my oh that's all i' say ah i don't Listen, anyone who has a grand piano in their house, I should get to steal whatever the hell I want. It's not a grand piano, that no brother. That's the reality of it. Listen, if you are in a modest to starter home.
Speaker: That is a modest. piano don't you It's a piano period. It was a gift. It was a tax credit, honestly. Of course. Of course it was. That's exactly what the rich do. The real expense isn't the piano. It's the man he's paying to play it.
Speaker: he comes And he only comes in. On Monday through Sunday. Oh, he made sure when our ass was around. That man was really scared.
Speaker: Yeah, to change the schedule for guests. Do we have people like watching us right now? Yes. you can tell this I've got a question. You can ask it. and i know if it's I don't know if it's part of like...
Speaker: everyone's experience in life or whether it's just oh no something about the way I look. but i'm getting I'm getting a little tired of any time you go into like any sort of place that was just like You hear of DoorDash?
Speaker: You hear what? Yo. like that's but I think I told y 'all, my wife and I went to a Decent Italian dinner. at um It was something, I can't remember, you know, decent enough whites. We we were dressed polo. We were dressed appropriately.
Speaker: And they were just like, oh, y 'all hear of DoorDash? y 'all like the two of us are just like a group like yeah who's teaming on the door dash yeah Hey, bro, you'd be surprised, man. It's a couple.
Speaker: activities. it nice this friday it it reached its peak i've got a cart full of grocery i'm at kroger i'm i'm gonna read check out And they said, are you with Instacart?
Speaker: This is my groceries. um I'm here by my grudge, like, oh, just double -checking, you look like you might. I was like, what? it looks like you might be with this they partner racism Yeah, they told you coming through the side door, man. That's crazy. But I just want to know, is this like something that everyone experiences? like No, brother, can I can't. I think that's a love experience. that Do I just give off the help? That was safe.
Speaker: Hey, bro. you I think that's a you experience. pat I'm going to be real with you. I've never once. been asked that just wait so it's not so it's not even a race thing next time i think it's just The closest that's I've ever had that was someone asked me if I worked here at Target because I was wearing a red shirt.
Speaker: That happens to everybody. Yeah, I feel like that's kind of a universal. That's a universal. Yeah, that's universal. Or if you wear blue in Best Buy, do you work here? Yeah, or Walmart or something. That's everybody. Three separate occasions being asked if you're to help Peyton, that's kind of crazy. All right, listen, here's what we're going to do, Peyton. We're going to go. Hang on, listen, here we go.
Speaker: Tomorrow morning, you're going to get up. Fuck work. You're not going to do that. Well, I'm starting to leave, so yeah, we can do this. Exactly. zero Can't be stopped. There you're going to go. You're going to buy.
Speaker: 31. Three -piece suits. You're gonna get one for each day of the week. And you're going to wear one every single day you go out. I'd ask you more if you really hope, if you just pull up to.
Speaker: to Kroger to buy groceries. and a three -piece suit. And a bow tie, bro. I think if you showed up in a three -piece suit painted to the track, nobody would ask you. Jeffrey, is that you? They wouldn't say shit to you personally. That's what I think.
Speaker: Who's driver are you with? Exactly. Not in a three -piece suit. Hey, brother. Well, then again, i take I don't know much about the chauffeur life. That's a Jared like life experience, so I don't know. I'll have to defer at this point. When i but you don't know you know't but you don't know um an experience, you should just defer to the experts. You're right. You're right.
Speaker: Yeah. let's Can we start the show? I'm waiting for you. You're the host. I almost said something. Say it. good thanks scar you Have you seen my Twitter today? Listen, I ain't scared of none of y 'all.
Speaker: yeah You have been riled up the past seven days. I ain't scared of Maria. That bell go off on Art's phone. He's like, oh, man, I got time to today. It cracks his knuckles. Honestly. Listen, my attitude is the same as as Ben.
Speaker: It's a big internet. It's the same thing as like a bug. If I see a bug. on the sidewalk. I step over it. I don't give it no time. But if there's a bug in my house, you came in my zone, my domain.
Speaker: And that's like my Twitter. You had the whole internet you could have been involved in. You didn't have to come to reply to me. So if you come to me, you go get this work. And I just have to, you know. Stomp on some roaches. That's fine. That's no problem. It's no problem. i'm thankful lot don't You don't hurt my feelings like this.
Speaker: I feel a little bit. If your face ain't on your profile you can't tell me shit. That's all. Why the hell would I want to go to a Carson Ware Q and &A from 445 to 5 p .m. at Darwin? Why wouldn't you?
Speaker: Why wouldn't you? Cause you can get all the questions you want in. Cause ain't nobody else going. You know what? Nice. history. Welcome to another episode of Victory Lane Vibes. Your host is Mr. Moses. We are live on Twitter.
Speaker: Twitch, YouTube, everywhere that you see our faces. Good evening. Welcome. It's Jared, it's Art, it's Madeline, it's Peyton. We're here. host daytona Um, And we're here to give you a little.
Speaker: regular season wrap up. before I send Art and Peyton. to Darlington. Hopefully one of them comes back. the other one that's is I beg your pardon?
Speaker: All right, everybody here? Cool, cool, cool. ah So Brian Peace. Ryan Priest, I think, speaking, brought back the ethical wind. And you were clinched.
Speaker: Clinching the final spot in the playoffs Saturday night. Winning your end and clinching the final spot. in the playoffs Saturday night. Is that the playoffs to chase Art? um How impressive was Ryan's drive?
Speaker: Madeline, I'm going to choose you. You haven't been a... a villain this evening. What do you think of Ryan's win last night?
Speaker: Congratulations to Ryan Priest. um I quite honestly.
Speaker: I mean, Ryan Blaney crashed out like right at the end of that race. So I was not locked in to. just about anything. I was busy being really mad at Hendrick Motorsports. crew and crew chiefs.
Speaker: Ryan obviously drove his ass off and he won the race and now he's in playoffs. I'm a little bummed. For Shane Van Gisbergen, I was really kind of hoping to see him. Make it into the chase.
Speaker: But you know what? Ryan earned that win because... It sure as hell wasn't on look. And no one else is winning in those cars, so. Good for him. That's my take on the race. His baby was very cute in Victory Lane.
Speaker: in his pajamas. Did not want to be there. And it was overall. Way worse options. could have won that race so i'm happy with it
Speaker: There's almost another Ford driver that ah Peyton doesn't want to go to the Q and &A for. Uh, Peyton, what were your thoughts on the, uh, the cophrase? and Well, hopefully we don't have our discussion topics up, but hopefully we'll talk a little bit later about the the trend changes. But if we just want to talk about Ryan Preece, good for him. I don't have any specific. he means I do not have a specific reason to not like him.
Speaker: And. He's had a... Solid. season and he was the what the 17th place car so it wasn't as though like i said this is much more acceptable than Harrison Burton.
Speaker: You know, farting his way into the ah postseason a couple years ago. So this is fine. seel He was strong the entire race. The only thing that felt odd was. what the heck was that post -race interview that he did like hopping out of the car it felt like he had a prepared speech like you could tell that he spent all morning delivering that to the mirror. like and we got a rocket ship and now i was like Dude, like this.
Speaker: Speak from your heart. like Don't speak from the script. but Beyond that. He was strong all night The thing that surprised me, I think earlier on this year. We were actually charting in another chat. That. rfk Up to a point was the strongest sport team.
Speaker: Bye. on average when you took into consideration how far off Penske was, and that is completely flipped. in the last 10 races where RFK is.
Speaker: I would say taking a step back and Penske is just really moved. Back. to their regular packing order. but Yeah. Overall... Happy enough for them.
Speaker: Yeah, shame for SVG. Uh, Yeah, that means they get no one in. Yeah, so track house has no one in the postseason. I don't know if that's happened to them. Thus far, the entire time they've existed that they've missed the postseason.
Speaker: because i think Ross Chastain's found to win for the most part. so Yeah. Yeah, this is their first time missing the postage. That's kind of crazy. Well, that's what I'm trying to get rid of a Mr. Worldwide, so I hate that one.
Speaker: A pit bull, but a drug, so they are. Chase hopes. All right. What were your thoughts on the 60 getting a dub last night? yeah i thought it was pretty impressive uh like we were talking about in the chat and like the announcers made that point like he had to win right nothing else was good enough. Second place doesn't... get you anything and i think that's a really hard position especially for a guy who
Speaker: He's had some good runs and is a good driver, but he he's not a barn burner, right? This is his first cup win, and it's fair to say he's been like a mid -pack guy at times. though Does he have the best?
Speaker: machine under him? No, but even still. like there's a reason you're fighting. at the cut line. on the last race of the the regular season. um but i just think it's really impressive and i do feel like it's it's kind of poetic i feel like You know, we talk about all the safety updates to the car, and I feel like a lot of them have been made as a result of the actions of of Ryan Priest, no fault of his own. but
Speaker: I really feel like if there's ever a track that owed a guy. I feel like they kind of kind of owed him one, right? like This wasn't Dale 20 years of trying, but like I. I think.
Speaker: three of i think two or three of the worst wrecks i've ever seen have all been ryan priest in like the last four years ever and i think if there's anyone who should get a win and It mean as much. As it did, i I think it should be him. um Yeah, um I was sad for Shane, but I think to everyone's point, like, track house has just been kind of trash this year. and you know for the highlights of him running well on the road courses there were several races where he was finishing in the 30s on speed right and i don't think
Speaker: I think it's an equal mix of. The cars not being great and him still growing as an oval driver. He's made some big strides, but I mean. If I were him, I'd be trying to get into a Toyota or something real quick. I'd try to slide over to some other team, and I i would not want to be on track house long term. That seems like a bit of a sinking ship at this point. um But yeah, I think it's it's a really good win. It's a feel -good win. and And like Jarrett mentioned, with you know Harrison Burton not being around anymore, with the Harrison Burton style win, I should say Harrison's still here, thankfully. but um
Speaker: We can enjoy this. It's an ethical win. Like he completely earned this and it doesn't feel cheap. And I think there's just kind of. I really want to like rub the the NASCAR media folks' noses in the in this because we heard so much about how winning the end was going to be such a big thing and how Game 7 moments and...
Speaker: they were always fake and manufactured and not authentic and then the first year of the chase you get one like you could not have script this better for the end of the chase And I was just like, wow, man, you could have had all of the the the legitimacy and the excitement if you just did this the whole time. so I think it's really validating for all the folks that were pushing to get.
Speaker: away from the playoff system and the win in Iran. uh all um i think it's a it's a big big moment and ah the other thing for the history stats i saw a stat last night that I did not realize.
Speaker: Do you know who the last person to win in the 60 car was in cup? Anybody? Do you know what it was in 1950? That's the last time this car number was in victory lane. Shout out Bill Rexford. who I did not know, at Canfield Speedway.
Speaker: In 1950, the last time the 60 car... Grace Victory Lane. A lot of history of this win. It's a good one. So. Random. That's that.
Speaker: I gotta to pull it out now while I can. I'll never get to use it again. I appreciate that. I think it's... The whole thing with Ryan Preece winning. I mean he was kind of a dick about it. Uh, Friday.
Speaker: because i don't care about svg i'm gonna go out here i'm gonna win every stage I'm going to win the race. I'm getting 76 points and I'm making a chase. I don't care about SVG. I don't care about SVG. And like SVG wins stage one. And I'm like, oh.
Speaker: What are you going to do there, Mr. Big Bad Ryan Preece? Um, and then rfk rex trying to get trying to get ryan priest uh the stage when they wrecked the field in stage two Um, and it was just uh it was just cool so i'm glad that he won after saying all weekend that he was going to win.
Speaker: um Just, I feel like speaking into existence, I actually worked on this scenario. Pretty cool that he got his first win at a track that has done very mean things to him, to Art's point. RRP, backstretch grass.
Speaker: um Yeah, just... ah I think it lines up. interesting for how the next 10 races are going to go. because you have... for mediocre driver.
Speaker: And it's interesting to see how RFK handles. this situation with him being in the playoffs do they give him the tier a tier one stuff you know the whole way to see if he can get any more guaranteed charter money by.
Speaker: progressing through the uh
Speaker: the point standings are not so I think it lines up for us to have ah at least a pretty fun weekend next week. I'm i'm very excited for to see how... ah Yeah, that's what's going to work out. But we move.
Speaker: The new Aeropractics debuted last night for the Cup Car. Did you enjoy it? Did you hate it? Or was it underwhelming? all right
Speaker: I liked it. I went into this race with a lot of skepticism. I did not. Feel confident that this would be anything. um and the first stage it felt like they were a bit timid which is kind of understandable right there's a bit of a feeling out phase ah in what your car can and can't do.
Speaker: uh but there seemed to be a stretch near the end of stage one and they go into stage two where they just Locked in. as a field and uh i thought it was really competitive um i think the most impressive driver start to back was probably Chase Elliott because there were a lot of times where he just made it look easy and you know go bottom pass a guy go back to top pass a guy um blaney was good bubba had some good moments early in the race
Speaker: Priest, obviously, with the comeback. um But the guys could make moves. And it was interesting, too, because... There was a period in the first stage where it was four cars on the bottom. And I thought, okay, they're going to get you know washed out to the back. It was kind of foreshadowing of the end of the race with the strategy there. But they were making time and and gaining on the train along the top. And I was like, wow I've never seen that in the next gen.
Speaker: um Overall, I was happy with it. I think it still needs a bit more tweaking, though. like I don't think you can just... sit on your laurels if you're in nascar and think that this is perfect and we should just roll into daytona with this it still to make it probably do a little more work to improve it um i would like to see you know, be able to get a bit more of a run at times. I like to see cars be able to get a bit of a better shove. um But yeah, I liked a lot of the.
Speaker: a lot of what i saw so i give it a thumbs up you know These next -gen races. at these play tracks. have been kind of ass for a long time let's be honest and it's a lot of you don't get one freight train you get two freight trains running side by side or at talladega sometimes you get three freight trains running side by side by side and i didn't feel like there was nearly as much of that in this race so i would consider that a big one
Speaker: Bye.
Speaker: I feel like I've been gaslit. but like I felt everything everything after the race, I feel like I was... bing gas lit by By you, Jared. Bye. Bye, everyone on Twitter. Bye.
Speaker: uh the the australian man on my tv what do you say fuck me for Well... Like because they're in the whole time they're like from the drop of the green flag all the commentators like, Oh my God, this is amazing. This is what we've been dreaming of. This is the best racing ever. And I'm like,
Speaker: It's the same damn stuff we've been... and And so here is my problem. Maybe it's me problem. Maybe, maybe. I'm stupid. But. I think my mind.
Speaker: That Atlanta summer race. was the only It's the only time I've loved. Restrictor plate racing. The cars could move. without a whole lot of help because here's the thing they were getting runs off of two dimensions They were getting runs because... The handling really mattered.
Speaker: At Atlanta. Like, if you got a good raw off the quarter, you would carry that. plus whatever draft. And so there would be like a. 15 mile per hour speed differential. anding like the runs were just massive and you saw cars going a lap down on pure pace.
Speaker: atlanta So for some reason in my mind. and that's that's my mistake expecting daytona to be someone wasn't but it still didn't seem like handling matter enough like getting off the corner well Stability wise. yeah it helped to a degree you did see some cars opting for four tires But it still didn't feel like anything.
Speaker: super revolutionary. I think what probably hurt was the fact that you did have cars and teams that were trying to still prioritize fuel saving. and so that's where you got the three wide just sort of log jam that you're just sort of stuck there.
Speaker: and But there were occasions where if the two outside lines. We're fuel saving. If you were interested, you could make your way to the front. But at the end of the day, the folks who were fuel saving and the folks who were racing hard ended up in the same place. It it didn't seem to be a huge advantage.
Speaker: And you didn't see a... so Like Ryan Preece, he was strong all night, but he wasn't. the level of strength that ah ryan blaney was at lane like ryan blaney demolish the field at. Atlanta in the summer and That's still what I'd like to see. Like I said, it it may not be possible.
Speaker: I don't think they can. take enough grip off these cars. for it to matter, but I do hope they continue to try to tweak that package. so um i think the biggest surprise for me was just how many more people liked it than i did I got. there i got into the race probably an hour started and Yeah, I did not feel bad. Just fast forwarding through every commercial break with the picture and picture like, listen, we got to catch up. It's just them circulating. No one's really moving a whole bunch. so Um,
Speaker: Yeah, um I appreciate them making the changes. I hope they do. the Daytona Thunder preseason test so they can continue to work on this. I think we're. I think they need less grip. make handling matter even more. I want cars. I want everyone cars and hosts of our ring.
Speaker: if they overstep the line.
Speaker: Oh. Yeah, I feel the opposite. I feel like sometimes there's like races that I watch specifically at tracks like Daytona where I'm just like, I don't. find myself enjoying I don't like the concept of watching a race just anticipating how a big wreck is gonna like tell me how the race is gonna end or how it's gonna change the narrative of the story. This race didn't feel like I was just sitting there anticipating.
Speaker: a massive wreck to just like ruin a driver's nine someone luck their way to a win like i don't enjoy that kind of racing it felt like and maybe It goes back to like who is doing well.
Speaker: like Chase Elliott was doing well. Ryan Blaney was doing well. Drivers that I enjoy getting to see like race each other were like actually. moving through the field, making passes, actually racing other cars instead of just like rotting in the back waiting for the chance at a restart because Carson Hosovar spins.
Speaker: and into turn three or something. So I felt like it was, I felt like the whole race, I was like, ah like. anxious for how my drivers were gonna do. but not in a like. oh somebody's gonna wreck and ruin their day sense in a like Oh, they're actually passing each other. They're actually fighting to get to the front or they're actually fighting at the front. The worst part.
Speaker: was the like. bit of the race where Hendrick Motorsports like screwed up and had all their drivers wasting gas up at the single file. lying in the front and ruined all their days.
Speaker: um That was the most boring part and that was when Chase was leading the race. So if that says anything about this. I don't know if it was the package. I don't know if it was. Just. the race didn't feel like a crash fest to me.
Speaker: So that was better than normal Daytona to me, but I enjoyed it. So Peyton is the unpopular opinion here, I think. Yeah, jump on. Like I said, I might just be stupid but... I wouldn't say that. Wow. That's the way I felt wandering the hallways of Twitter. everyone was just sitting there like saying man i had a great time you were wandering the hallways and getting shoved in a locker well For your take.
Speaker: Anyway, like I said, I've just got it the biggest love affair with ah atlanta motor speedway so Be more like that and I'll be happier. i mean i think with this car it's clear that atlanta is head and shoulders above daytona and talladega i mean i think it's atlanta daga and then daytona in the gen 7 but i think The thing is, though, is that this car excels at mile and a half.
Speaker: Atlanta is a modified. hybrid. Mile and a half. Well, I'll also say this. The drivers had very mixed opinions. like Bubba, after the race, he said the car didn't feel that much for him. He said he could make some moves, but it didn't feel night and day.
Speaker: Christopher Bell. he you know Pretty much said the same thing. you know, in terms of the fuel save was worse. you still need it. It just didn't feel a whole lot different.
Speaker: But other drivers were a bit more complimentary of it. so It'll be interesting to see. what the numbers look like on the race. But it didn't feel hugely different. But like I said, I think it was just so much of it. You could still feel that fuel save. so I said, I don't want to poo -poo NASCAR 2R because it...
Speaker: you know it only took them four years to actually make some meaningful steps in the direction instead of just offloading everything to Goodyear. So I do want to thank them for at least trying a thing.
Speaker: But I hope they keep at it. so
Speaker: Jared's disappeared into a black hole. oh Yeah, I know. I'm back. I am. I was actually a fan of this race. Um... i could see them making moves when they wanted to spend the gas to do it.
Speaker: Um, And I think that's why everybody is just so 50 -50 on it. just because you saw them get racy like the last 15 laps of stage one.
Speaker: um There were some parts of stage two where they were actually like getting after it, but like stage three was more back to... oh it's go time but nobody's going nobody's moving and i feel like that's a lot of the The sentiment of it is like...
Speaker: yeah cool when they were on 100 % go. Okay. You could pass and go from the back to the front in the front the back and make moves and dip and dodge and all That stuff and look fantastic, but then between time in between time it was still the same oem fuel -saving garbage that we've...
Speaker: Leave. come to know and expect with the next gen. uh which led to some questionable pit decisions towards the end of the race. so um A plus for NASCAR trying. I think the next thing they do is they need to to figure out how to get rid of the the fuel savings.
Speaker: either to make a smaller fuel cell and everybody just has to go 30 laps in pit or figure out something but seeing Chase and Who was it? Was he racing Carson? Is chasing Carson go like going back and forth? It sort of reminded me a lot of how the racing is at Echo Park.
Speaker: Peyton's fan -favorite of track because you could take you can take the run and get to the lead and just get back in line. And it was really cool to see that happen. that um daytona because we haven't seen that type of racing since This car has been introduced to us.
Speaker: Um, Good start. uh but i feel like there's uh there's still some work to be done to perfect it um To Peyton's point, hopefully they do still intend on. uh doing the the pre -season thunder and trying some other things with the car so we actually get a a 500.
Speaker: are worth buying a ticket for so hopefully that's coming soon Do you think if they played with the stage lengths, is that the solution? I'm just thinking. ill So what race was that where they did it? uh was that talladega where like the first stage was like incredibly long so they they had no choice but to The drive that then stage two and three was.
Speaker: shorter distances so they could have enough gas to go all out I don't remember. I know what you're talking. I think it was Talladega. Yeah, it was. I mean, I would. You know, I feel like if.
Speaker: Let's see if they didn't do that for this race. to see what the car would do. Then maybe since Talladega is 500 miles as opposed to the 400 from last night, maybe the race is long enough for them to mess with the stages to see.
Speaker: how both things work out. But I wouldn't be opposed to it. I think that'll be for now. you want a real chaos idea this is dumb but i'm gonna say it anyway i want your gas cans to be on a sliding scale so what's how big is the gas can now is it 13 gallons
Speaker: Oh my, how much fuel can they add at a time? and Like, just like at 100%. Is it 13? oh gosh you know it's got be the fuel cell it's got to be better than that I thought it was 13. 16. Maybe I'm thinking of 13.
Speaker: We're on it. a Fuel cell size. 20. Okay, it's 20. You're only off by... a huge 40 that's fine it's fine anyway that's why i'm not a math major um i like the idea this is stupid it won't ever happen but if i was God, King of NASCAR.
Speaker: you can get a fuel cells anywhere from 20 to 21. to 19 gallons and it's just a sliding scale you don't know which one you get You just got to figure it out.
Speaker: Good luck. Hey, you are half lap shorter than your teammate. Tough shit. Make it work. So when would they be able to recognize how much, how ah large their fuel cell is? That's not my problem.
Speaker: Yeah. That's not my problem to do. Didn't we basically see that? Last night. I mean, they all guessing anyway. I mean, yes, but if you look at the situation where SVG and Bubba... Hit it.
Speaker: and the teammate stayed out running the Same. And. everybody else said gas them to pin it like Doesn't it make you seem like... yeah There has to be some sort of.
Speaker: Well, why are you getting Better Guy songs and I'm not? if we have run if we're running the exact same stuff. Hopefully we get a chance to moan about that. Jeez Louise. I just want a little more chaos. I want a little more random. While we're talking about random things I would change, I would also make pit selection be at random.
Speaker: Poll just gets you the front row, bro. You got to pull the lottery ball to to get the first picks. of if cody weir qualified and he gets the first ball he's but he's Pitten spot one, baby. Like, he earned it.
Speaker: that's what we We need a little more randomness. Imagine Kyle Larson losing that 2021 championship because Cody Ware was in the P1 box. Listen, that's a better timeline than what we're in.
Speaker: You know I'm right. the you know i'm right that that would be amazing anyway sorry and i got this off track we can keep going Chugs. Right? Oh, no, sorry. yes No raps.
Speaker: No apps. Rush. managed to secure the final playoff spot. in O 'Reilly's Friday Night. But it wasn't the same without some drama at the end. Who do you point fingers at?
Speaker: Um, Is it Justin's fault? Is it Raj's fault? Should we just... ignore it and say raj made the chase let's go get a cup how do How do you feel? Meh. I'll start with you.
Speaker: I plead the fifth on faulting anybody for that. I don't think Justin Allgaier was like, wow, I'm going to ruin Raja Karou's night. Like, I don't think like anybody who was like sitting there.
Speaker: planning out like i'm gonna ruin my teammates tonight i think it was a really shitty way for the race to end and not at all how I wanted the race to end I don't don't even really remember who won the race.
Speaker: because i was just really bummed it was so Was it Ryan C? Ryan C, yeah. With help, sure. um
Speaker: I didn't really, I didn't enjoy the O 'Reilly race as much as I enjoyed the cup race. that one did feel a bit more of the like typical like
Speaker: whatever's happening, I guess is happening. I, again, I don't point fingers at Justin Allgaier. I'm excited to see that Raja is getting the chance to like. be in playoffs. I'm
Speaker: still bummed that we didn't get a full season of him in the 88 car because it is just clear that like Once he's been in it, like he's been doing like. significantly better than what the car he's had for a majority of the season gave him.
Speaker: Um. Hopefully, we don't. get wrecked by Justin Allgaier or anything in the coming... We... They gotta go back to Degas, though.
Speaker: Monkey's paw might curl. All right. All right. Since you talk about monkey spa, how do you feel? oh i didn't know where that sentence was going i did not know where that sentence was going um um The I blame Allgaier only because he immediately tried to cover his ass. That's the only reason why I blame him. Because you know what? Only the guilty try to explain themselves.
Speaker: only the guilty try to say oh i i did everything right after um it was perfect it was perfect I'm like, bro. Chill out. the fuck why you why are you crashing out like this that's how i know you fucked up That's how you know someone messed up and they start immediately trying to cover their tracks.
Speaker: So I blame all guys for it. But It's fine. It's fine. It's not like it's not intentional or anything and in Raj ended up Making the playoffs. It only cost him a chance at a win, but like, whatever. I'm i'm okay with this. This is not. ah the worst outcome possible now if he didn't have those stage points I've been waiting at JRM for him to come in off the plane. I'll put it that way. He would have had, again, he would have been right up there with. um
Speaker: John Niemicek. I talked about last week. He would have to see me. They've been aligned for him. but uh yeah i think i think he messed up but like i said it's just it's hard right it's hard so it's just a mistake
Speaker: Peyton, you got a... a list of debauchery too or are you feeling It was a good show man, it was a good show Those cars, they get spaced out. And it's fun.
Speaker: And you want to talk about a car being on a move through the field. Listen. Austin Hill. Best. restrictor plate driver of all time, statistically. I mean, and I mentioned it earlier. I can kick him out the call. the way now listen hold on before you kick me out just think about the way The way that he got spun. earlier on in the race.
Speaker: And man, he spun like, what, 6 ,000 times? didn't touch the wall much. that skill and divine intervention. i mean that that boy's got something only at those tracks And it's a special thing to behold. and What? Within...
Speaker: 20 laps he's back at the front. That I can appreciate. Very, very good race. In terms of Roger getting spun. He got a shove and he wasn't ready for it, whether he wasn't lined up right or.
Speaker: Whether his teammate didn't square him up quite the same way, listen. It's super speedway racing. I think. The biggest thing I'm excited for is, what, 10 races in a row in that equipment. so the only thing i hate is is that still what the pressure cooker situation of the chase, but I think just making the chase in its own is.
Speaker: the main goal. hopefully you can work his way. I think if he can get to the top eight. Endpoints. When it's all said and done, I think that would be a great season. Top six or top five.
Speaker: That's the dream. But hopefully he's able to just relax, enjoy himself and just sort of. race. as smart as possible because he had a he had a Very, very strong night.
Speaker: very strong. And we've seen that where he's got pace and he just gets a little bit too excited and you get a Dover situation where you just get stacking. Sort of. issues throughout the night and i think the biggest thing for that that's just I think it's just time to race out of the desperation. so I'm excited for these playoffs. but yeah that was the race of the weekend It's funny that you bring that up because he said it in his.
Speaker: his post for each son of you that he knows that he's probably Um... Done a little... Been a little too aggressive to get a better finish than just taking it with the car. Get some.
Speaker: obviously the equipment that he drives top five top sons is easy um But he really wanted to just. run his race last night and just see what happened. um And it sucks because he was.
Speaker: I mean, we don't know if he would have gone further the to pass one or not, but it seemed like he was content just... chilling in second and just taking a points advance into um the chase and just keeping it pushing so Um,
Speaker: it's just it's a feat in itself just with the the schedule that he's had and the mishaps and the missteps and you know, just going back and forth between the JM car and the and the the JR car.
Speaker: um He's had a hell of a a hell of a season. um so with all the bouncing back and forth between race traps and chassis and he still made uh the chases you know feeding itself so you can all i would hang my hat on that um call it adversity if you want to but There's no other driver in this series going back and forth between two organizations and not keeping notes with anything.
Speaker: um and you're still expected to perform at your your highest and best self week in and week out. So I'm super proud of him for making the chase. We'll see what happens. He runs really well at dar Darlington.
Speaker: So we'll see what happens there. There's no bump drafting at a... At the old, uh... the little egg -shaped track stone. Hopefully that's a better of performance or a different performance.
Speaker: Or... um the first one to celebrate. No beer. Next. Saturday. or this coming Saturday. Today's Sunday and we're recording. That's wild, bro. It's great. Crazy.
Speaker: ah Speaking of Darlington. The chase moves to Darlington this week. Which driver gets snatched? By the Lady in Black.
Speaker: Alright. You wrote this? Who's who's getting, uh... Who's getting their fisticuffs, their lapels? Goodnight. Take it in. You know, there are a lot of drivers I'm gonna just focus on Cup. There are a lot of drivers who are really good.
Speaker: at Darlington here. But there are also drivers who really... I've had some some rough finishes here. i when i think of really good ones off the top end i think of denny right he's won here a bunch um Who else is running here? Byron has run well here.
Speaker: But then I think about like. You know, Kyle Larson is there in seventh and points. He's had some nasty wrecks at this track. I mean, he wrecks the fuck out of himself at this track. Um,
Speaker: So I don't know. I feel like it's going to be someone. I think it's going to be someone in the bottom half. um I don't think Chase is going to do anything. I'm going to say Suarez. I don't think it's going to be his own fault. I think he's going to get caught up in somebody else's mess.
Speaker: It's been a little too quiet for him the last couple months. He's kind of just been writing. you know in that that sixth to tenth range and he ended up getting bumped out by logano uh near the end to 11th but i think it's going to be him him or host of our man because of our Huzar has been on a slide for the last ah couple of weeks, which I'm fine with that. Continuing personally, I'd be. content to see that in person.
Speaker: But I'm going to say Suarez. That's my safe bet. Amen.
Speaker: Hi, Gibbs. I feel like Ty Gibbs had an issue. Often, kind of frequently at this track. i might be historically wrong but i feel like he had an issue here last year ah going into it.
Speaker: i could see I could see this track biting him. Uh, Other drivers here have had really good runs historically. I mean, looking at this track, a lot of winners were top finishers from Denny Hamlin.
Speaker: Redick. briscoe Larson. i mean there's a lot of winners legano so i think all of them should actually be in good shape i i think the biggest issue you're going to have is not necessarily a chase driver causing their own issue, it may be.
Speaker: getting caught up. in someone else's we're not going to see say what we're gonna see What we're not going to see this year is since every driver who's in the chase is qualified to be in the chase, you're not going to see a repeat of the horrendous.
Speaker: The horrendous playoff start that we saw from Josh Berry. If you all remember, he had. In the first three races of the playoffs last year, he finished a total of like... Five laps.
Speaker: it was It was a monstrosity. so I don't think any of the chase drivers are going to cause their own problems, despite Carson Hosovar's best effort to be his own worst enemy. uh second only to aspire also uh I don't know I think there's some strange going on over there. but Yeah, I think they just. Got to be careful with all of the non -chase contenders and getting caught up in a three -car accident.
Speaker: Man. Not to like kick a man while he's down because everybody else has said it, but i mean if we're like if i'm if I'm betting on anybody. Kidding. caught up in something that's gonna be carson host so far bless his heart the man has like what is it the last like three weeks he's had some kind of issue.
Speaker: that's not necessarily of other people's doing I don't know what kind of mojo he's got going on. I don't know what fires got going on.
Speaker: But if I had to bet... I'm gonna bet. My man Carson Hosovar is probably not going to have a fun weekend next weekend just going off historical last month of his life. Bless them.
Speaker: na No, don't. Don't do that. I was going to. say his teammate. Michael McDowell because I hope all things. happen. bad to that man so What did Michael McDowell do?
Speaker: What didn't you do what hasn't he done? that man is no saint he puts on the facade that he is and he's far from him
Speaker: I hope he you know finds the wall. You're right. um And he gets out safely, but I want his car to be unfavorable, unfixable. I want him to watch the rest of the race from the hallway.
Speaker: Personally. he I'm trying to think of anyone else in sports who has more of that all shucks, gee willikers. vibe to him and then it's just destroyed and hurt so many people what he got into fisticuffs with his current teammate in Suarez.
Speaker: Well, no, he got put on his ass yeah by his teammate. Let's be clear. Yeah, he did. He did clean him out. He did, yeah. Fisticuffs implies there was some level of equality to the scuffle. It was... It was a one way street. he did He did tune them up, didn't he?
Speaker: And then what? he Ran through Bubba for no reason in 2020. And then what? he he took He hurt badly, dear sweet. Uh,
Speaker: Riley Herbst. I mean, what has Riley Herbst ever done to anybody? He's a sweet young man. And... And he's just going to go and do that to him. That's like I said, that's not all shucks. Gee, will occur type behavior.
Speaker: Mm hmm. Ciao. Hmm. Shout out to Harrison Burden. uh jumping in the uh The 35 for Riley. I think he finished 12th last night. He had to and himself a good run on that treetop car.
Speaker: Man, can you imagine if he won, man? That would have been crazy. You know... I'm glad you brought that up. It's time for Lights Too Bright. my light's too bright i'm going first we can't steal it goes to mr charles the nike brother.
Speaker: Brother. Please, please. I just want you to roll the dice this one time. ah Clearly... Booty has figured something out. Because he's got two wins.
Speaker: this season. Booty would have stayed out. That'll do it. He would have stayed out. If you run out, you run out. You already got the points. Screw it. Why don't you just try, please? Please just try next time.
Speaker: It's like the car went out. You already made the chase. You need no more points. We didn't need four tires on the full attack, you guys. Um... He didn't wreck, but... He was back there close enough to it and ended at the race because he wasn't up front where he should have been.
Speaker: Just let the car run out of gas next time. boy It's too bright. My intention was, wasn't Bubba running 20th and then he pitted and exited like... 25th. And he finished 20th.
Speaker: Yeah. ah ah My biggest thing is don't put Bubba on like some... hackamany scheme when it comes to these plate races. Just tell me, bu just run flat out. lets Do what you wanna do, man.
Speaker: Let's just get it. you still want to get the same results and historically youre either you know he's either going to Have a bad day or a good day. Stop screwing around. because you know anytime they try and make this anything special happen just man just like just let him eat and god He went. from 30th to 5th in like four laps yeah that's how i knew that this package was cooking.
Speaker: That's so how I also knew that. You should have just let him. To your point, Peyton. Just... Run it dry and then pick. Just let Bubba do what he got to do. so oh the whole Exactly. The whole race. Don't even don't even let him do the fuel saving stay in the back. No, just run for the lead. Listen, you're either going to wreck in front of the field or you're going to get wrecked. Who cares?
Speaker: you're so I mean, you saw Priest do that. Priest was... on Attack. 100 % attack. Look what happened to him. He wasn't anywhere close. He was going 100 % all race long because he knew he had to win.
Speaker: and he made it Tyler's up there. uh further up when he's able to make it to the end and like I just don't understand. i thought the whole logic that was drilling to me was that if you're riding in the pack you're saving gas well why is it the people in the back of the pack are the ones that are pitting That don't make no sense to me.
Speaker: Someone smarter than me, please explain. I don't get it I agree. That's my lights to burn. Uh, Madeline. Who wins you over at light bulbs this weekend?
Speaker: for the second week in a row. and The Hendrick Motorsports, all of them, not just the nine crew. I don't know what. what strategy they thought they were running when they were all three at the front. in one even line just like going like as fast as they can.
Speaker: burning gas. I was listening to Chase's radio and my friends were listening to like Chase's radio. They didn't even really like sound confident in what they were doing. It's not like they were like, yeah, we've got a really solid plan going.
Speaker: It was like, well. Guess we're just going to see. and hide
Speaker: I just like at what point. Hendrix Motorsports is like the... big One of the biggest teams. in the NASCAR field and I don't understand how.
Speaker: their crew chiefs. all seem to just have like... loose lug nuts. in place of a brain. So my light's too bright. Is Hendrick Motorsports listening?
Speaker: He's trying to rack up some calories.
Speaker: All right. I'm going to follow. oh Let me start. Because I didn't say this earlier. I was going to say one part about the race that I really liked at the end was the.
Speaker: The four car, the four, it ended up being four Chevys that were riding around and making pace on the field. and threatening to to push the pace to make everyone in front of them have to pit. You remember that that Talladega race? where they tried that same thing and it almost worked.
Speaker: Who was that who did that? Was it the Ford? What was the toy? Okay, I can't remember. And it almost worked. Bye. That was maybe my favorite part of the race because I find that so fascinating.
Speaker: that these four cars are somehow faster than like 30 other ones right together i just find that fascinating and i was so excited To see how that. would work out. I really just want, just for once in my life, I know I ask for a lot, God, but just for once in my life.
Speaker: Let me just see it run green. and I can see what happens. And I got ruined. by my lights too bright also for the second week in a row mr carson ozavar Who? Last week, I said need to be thrown in a washing machine.
Speaker: His car looked like it got thrown in a washing machine the way he lost his shit going into three. I just don't understand brother. I get. Listen, I get it's a hard job. i get it the airs are but nobody else had that problem with you big dog we had 30 some odd, what, 36 cars?
Speaker: What, how many laps was this race? That's a lot of cars going into one corner, fam, and they all seem to make it but you on that one time. So I just. brother, you really ruined my good time and I can't stand you for it.
Speaker: I just absolutely can't stand you for it. You get my lights too bright. and it was a it was a good move i was like oh shit he about to actually make something happen and then uh you know just Just eats it.
Speaker: and just so And also, can we can someone get a ah welfare check on poor Eric Jones while we're talking about it? Because that poor man, I say that with no sarcasm.
Speaker: With no malice. No malice in my... Listen, I was thinking about this today while I was in the car. I i can't say one crossword about Eric Jones. or I can't say that about a lot of people in in the field. And this poor man just getting caught left, right and center by everybody else but him. Everybody else but him, fam.
Speaker: It's one thing you lose your own shit, but then you just ride along, bam. Post a bar in your lap. Days over That pretty ass 43 scheme. Jout. Because Peyton's favorite driver couldn't hold a wheel. Shameful. Shameful. Lights too bright two weeks in a row.
Speaker: Art stole mine. It was going to be... Carson Hosovar. Everyone else seemed to be doing a good job of turning left and he did a good job turning left for. Most of the day, but he turned left too much.
Speaker: Got to be careful about that. Can't go left too much. gotta Just find that middle point. and he Did the bad thing. Um... Someone to Audible? And say.
Speaker: Lights too bright for track house, if only because... The driver they got rid of, the driver they said wasn't good enough. You know, we don't need you. We don't want you. you there's not a place for you anymore.
Speaker: Sitting 11th in the playoffs. In front of a... you know. In front of a Hendrick driver. Sitting pretty. Ah, boy, to Daniel Suarez. very happy for him Had a very strong season.
Speaker: And Trackhouse just looked... I mean... They had a few glimpses, and like I said, on road courses in SVG's hands. They looked quite good But...
Speaker: Elsewhere, ovals.
Speaker: Sad to see. I mean, it's everyone's talking about it. It's just sad to see. So, lights too bright, and off they go. I don't know what they need to do in the offseason. Spend some money, spend less money, put money in the right places.
Speaker: Pray. Whatever they need to do, they need to do it. so To be fair, they didn't say they didn't want him. They just... wanted someone else more. Those are two different things, aren't they?
Speaker: Not really, not not not fails for us as well. I mean, not to Daniel Soares, but I'm just thinking big picture. What'd you say? I miss it. I was saying like... No. because the person that they replaced him with is also leaving.
Speaker: Well they didn't know that at the time though. you can't You can't judge it based off of the end result. You have to judge it based off the information they had at the time. e lipa All I'm saying is the...
Speaker: the tertiary Car has been vacated twice in the last three years. sal They should offer him his job back.
Speaker: i hear you Listen, I'm not even saying you're wrong. I'm just saying. they I don't know. I don't think it was like what we hate. we hate uh daniel it was more like oh we can get the best prospect in the last three years and probably the best one. and In the next two years, maybe. like i and Just remember um that Terrence Howard clip.
Speaker: Do you need some money? yeah yeah i that no thank you and i hear you i don't read their reasons aren't wrong but It's funny to me. It's very funny. i get it I get it. I get it. You're not wrong. I'm just saying.
Speaker: I would have done it too. I think we all would have done it. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I hear you. I hear you. You see, you see legacies. crowdsourcing there uh future success.
Speaker: i think about what 16 different maybe justin should call should pick up the phone Mr Worldwide. She's like, hey, baby, I'm sorry. Here goes a fruit basket. Come on back.
Speaker: We need you. You don't send Mr. Worldwide a fruit basket. You can't send him anything else on this family show that we're recording live. You can't. You can't. I'm going to say it. You got to send him a nice bottle of bubbly. You don't send Mr. Worldwide. um I didn't think he might say that. Yeah, that's safe.
Speaker: Some Moet, some Sean, some Sean Don, you know what I'm saying? Some Cristal. the only The only way you send Mr. Worldwide a fruit basket if it is fruit acquired from around the world.
Speaker: okay you need it from i need the best peaches from georgia i need the best grapes from Whoever has the best fucking grapes, I don't know. But that's you got you gotta to accumulate the fruit from around the world from Mr. Robot. You can't go to Kroger and get some fruit and send it to Mr. Worldwide. That's not gonna fly.
Speaker: And I think maybe a charcuterie tray along with the champagne. you' got You've got to offer them a lot. It's got to be a very elegant spread. yeah no no you're not you're not going to edible arrangements to to woo him back That's not gonna make it through the door.
Speaker: That's expensive. That may be a wobble. And see, that's why you're not Mr. Worldwide right there. That's why. It's shameful. um Audience, is there any ah any questions or topics that you have for us that we haven't covered in this this fine hour of stealing your Sunday evening?
Speaker: While we're waiting for that, I'm going to say that Peyton and I are going to Darlington. I think Jared. touched on it briefly, but we are very excited. to go to Darlington.
Speaker: And we're doing both races, so please be on the lookout for us. Peyton will be much easier to spot in the crowd than me, so look for him. At 7 '2", he's an easy sight to find.
Speaker: and come say hello to us. He's like Wendy in real life. Yeah. yeah Yeah. And don't ask me if I'm here for DoorDash. Listen, brother, we're going to stop by a Just for Men's on our way down from Charlotte, and we're going to get you suited and booted. You're going to look real sharp, fam.
Speaker: You're gonna look real sharp. I'm not gonna let you go in there looking raggedy. If I speak. Hey. I will be in very, very big trouble. i just i'm gonna say it anyway just make sure you give it some shell to adidas
Speaker: I thought you were going to say something much worse than that. that's As bad as that ball really needs to be. because you don't understand what i'm saying peyton while while we're as we're about to wrap up let me ask you who is your worst case scenario winner to see in person o I don't mind.
Speaker: Ooh. For this Sunday's race. Man, that's a great question. You've sat in the heat for four and a half hours. In the sun. It's ten to go.
Speaker: Who you just just take your. can of Perrier water and just throw it on the track if this driver crosses the finish line. Yeah, whose wind would infuriate you enough to litter?
Speaker: Okay, so... don't litter It's tough because... He's not very likable. like I don't pretend to like him just because it's funny. Um... But... I would say.
Speaker: austin hill but with austin hill you'd have like the warm heartwarming thing of seeing Kyle Busch's car. I'm out. But like as a person. Not my heart.
Speaker: That's it really tough. like i am Mm -hmm. Because least everyone else is sort of an underdog. Some of you have not seen him in a while. I couldn't give two flips about Todd Gilliland. winning a race, but that'd be kind of cool.
Speaker: So I'm going to say, yeah. i don't yeah Noah Braxton. It's like, ooh. i find him I find him endearing in that frat boy, I'm going to say, some of the goofiest stuff you've ever heard sort of way. That's cool.
Speaker: Goofy is one word you could use. I'm not driving five hours from my home, leaving wife and child at home to see a Noah Gregson. When is he? Barfs. so Cole Custer, too. now i'd be a pretty I'd just leave. You love Cole Custer. What are you talking about? You were such a fan, man. I'm not a Cole Custer fan. you're these you're These people are not loyal, man. yeah I was about to say. these Hey. Only thing about Cole Custer I like was the fact that he had a very good signature.
Speaker: ice cream at Andy's Ice Cream. That's it. Dude, I liked Kyle Petty for a decade because he had Hot Wheels as a kid. that That's all you need. you You don't turn coat because of that.
Speaker: you But whos who is your who is your nightmare blunt winner rotation? roll ah um I mean, it's it's John Niemicek. I would just... Um,
Speaker: I didn't think about it. I'm looking through the the point standings as I as i look at it. I don't think there's anyone. i would I would throw a bottle. at the track i think if johnny mitchell i don't know where our seats are so it might not be feasible. but i would I think that'd be worse because everyone else I can at least.
Speaker: find some redeeming. Well, Cody wears there. I can't say that. I was going to say everyone else got at least some redeeming quality, but. listen if Cody Ware wins it you can at least say you saw the craziest Darlington race of all time.
Speaker: If Cody Ware wins, I can say that I saw 35 cars wreck and one car putter around. I'm about to speak an evil Darlington into existence. I ain't scared, man. Do you know how like could you you know a long of a race that would be if it ends with Cody Ware winning? Like that, like you said. That's not just the field winning. That's the field getting repaired.
Speaker: and then crashing again. Yes, as he sputters around it. 50 % throttle, just making laps. Didn't the man lead laps? yesterday yeah because he always has 460 horsepower and Last night, he was evenly matched.
Speaker: I think. i wasn I almost took it personally and I almost said something mean about that man, but I'm not going to. I shouldn't. Are you saying the car one's better with the tapered spacers? because it was like you They're probably like, all the you of the spacer just just run it. rwr roll that thing out of there yeah we we know what you're putting down and just run it you need You need to restrict that thing.
Speaker: But you're doing just fine restricting this on your own. Just fun. Don't even worry about it. Madeline, you have enough adversity.
Speaker: which Which driver would make you litter? I. I've already lived. like Kyle Larson went in person. And I didn't even get to be miserable about miserable about that because I had to ride six hours back. home from Charlotte.
Speaker: with a kyle larson fan in the front seat but i'd say that was a pretty close one to like i just was miserable. I...
Speaker: I saw Christopher Bell on a certain weekend in Bristol. and Hmm. I don't know what else could top that. I'm going to be honest. I think maybe I've reached my nightmare.
Speaker: winner moment. I'd say for me... I'm gonna just go take it across all three series. if I had to witness it. Chandler Smith went in person.
Speaker: I think there might be some. That would be your worst one? That's surprising. I think there might be some beverages in the movement. You'd be less upset. uh At a win?
Speaker: than Chandler Smith. You know, it's... I'm accustomed to. Evil winning? Yes. Yeah, I get that. McDowell will be high up there as well. If if I have to sit through a McDowell win.
Speaker: yeah i'm not going If it's not a road course, it's not happening. I'm not worried about that. I'm not going to take I'm not taking my heart and money. to watch a road course as it is i'll never have to worry about that yeah about like two weeks like two years ago when they were in the playoffs and he started talking shit about bubbles like oh we got road courses now we ain't got no more more drafted tracks and his ass still got bounced out man that's how i know I don't like ugly, man. If if you in a position. love
Speaker: Something like NASCAR. God don't like ugly boy. I'm trying to tell you, man. If you come against the wall next Sunday, just say I told you so. I'm all right with that. What's my man's name from Simpsons with that?
Speaker: i'm pointing at them pussies oh man from the pod account. You know, there's a... Maybe we'll... ah And then we can wrap. Maybe... Peyton and I will do some live. Maybe we'll do a couple little live segments from the race. We will try to.
Speaker: why does it be i'm gonna speak it on air to try to hold us accountable aka me but Y 'all better not come out there in a foolishness if I put my camera in y 'all's face. That's all I'm saying. Cause I'll cut that shit off real quick and we can.
Speaker: Have a discussion. Because Peyton from Tennessee, he don't fuck around. He going to handle y 'all. Right, Peyton? Um, Listen, man.
Speaker: It's a five -hour drive to get back to the courts out there in South class So like if we're going to do some nonsense, I want to be all my court appearances to be quick and easy. So Yeah, let let's not. what's What's that video? Where it's like, if y 'all got a problem with me, come shoot my uncle. Exactly, come kill my uncle about my uncle about it. You got a problem with anything I say all the time?
Speaker: square up come on but come square withre paid to buy right now what understeer i know you're out there listening because you are blocking me today you bump Come on. Come on down to the track. fan I want to talk to you about these conspiracy theories. I ain't scared of you, motherfucker. oh Sigh.
Speaker: we were saying Alex Jones of motorsports. That's what you are. That's what you are. alex jones has people who at least liked him You right. Actually, i don't I don't have a rebuttal for that. You right.
Speaker: You got that. You got that. I ain't got nothing for you.
Speaker: I can't see it. Did the the audience ask a question? Take us home. Perfect. I'm going to go there. Thank you for listening. Thank you for being here. Like, comment, subscribe. Take a Manny's. Take a Grammy's. Buy some merch. Get these shorts.
Speaker: as Peyton and our boat mission catch them before they are in a jail cell Sunday night. Um, they uh don't sign foreheads so they're already a leg above the uh the competition for in person who Well...
Speaker: Well, the right forehead. Sure. Why not? thought You know what? You only live once. As our league representation, you will not be signing any part of your body. Yeah. Arts views do not reflect those on Victor Lane Vibes LLC.
Speaker: I'm just saying. And him only for the destiny things about forehead signing. I'm just saying, if someone likes me enough to walk up to me and say, hey, I love your podcast, can you sign up for it? Who am I?
Speaker: I'm not trying. Who am I to do real to deny I'm denying you. Who am I? I'm just saying. i going leave the sharpies at home i'm not finding any body part any forehead We're not even - Listen, this is full circle because I started the show before we hit record telling Jerry he needs to travel with a pen. And I said, I travel with two pens and a Sharpie. I got a Sharpie in my bag right now. We taking it to Darlington. It'll be in my pocket if you need your forehead signed. Come see me.
Speaker: Yeah. Look at the ego on him. I live my truth, Jared. It's full circle because I said that before we started. He gets one angry person that's mentioned saying that oh i got way more than one they think says been got that we've got that we've got a mid -level podcast that occasionally does interesting content and it goes straight to his head.
Speaker: He was insulting us. He's like, man, we got good content. This is the man. i ain't scared of these motherfuckers i ain't scared none of y 'all I'll bring my Sharpie. I'll bring my pocket sand.
