Hello and welcome to From Dublin to Cleveland. I'm Logan Howard and today is the 12th part of the Fear of the Lord series. And today, of course, you probably already saw the heading if you clicked on it on Spotify or you listened to it somewhere else. But today's we are going to be talking about the fear of the Lord and how it provides riches, honor, and life.
Humility and Fear of the Lord

So it provides all the things we talked about last episode about how we didn't want money in trouble. So We are going to be in a couple places today. First, we are going to be in Proverbs 22 verse 4. So if you follow me, turn over to Proverbs 22 verse 4. And this is what Proverbs 22 verse 4 says, By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, honor, and life. So again, as we have a relationship with God, as we ah are humble,

ah That's not something that Americans are. um As we have humility and fear the Lord, riches, honor, and life, the things that that we really deeply want, um the needs that we have. you know For instance, we need money
The Role of Humility in Society

to survive. We need money to eat, to buy our food, to commute, to put gas in our tanks, to drive, all of these different things. We need money for those things. and so we We can again like we did said last time we could go and cause trouble and get the money or we can rely on God to provide them um And when God provides he provides riches more than we can ever ask for and more abundantly that we can ever ask for so trusting him Is a wise path again having humility ah Not in an arrogance when we have an arrogance or an arrogant heart we kind of seek our own and want

and cling to an attitude that is not good. um It tears others down, it focuses on us, it puts us on the throne. ah So having that humility, again, brings us riches, brings us honor. um You know, this is a big ah big thing for guys, and you know, I think for the same time, I think it's a big thing for for just humans in general. We want to be honored, we want to be respected for what we are and what we do. And it's hard in today's day and age to really get that.

You know, that's why we have a whole dating crisis here in the States is, you know, people don't respect each other. They don't respect their time. They don't respect their willingness and they don't respect each other. And so dating kind of just doesn't work in our day and age.

um But respect and honor, you know honoring other people um That's really what we're supposed to be about as Christians. We're supposed to honor others, but God honors us He gives us glory He clothes us with glory and gives us opportunities and things that we can't earn on our own So clothed with honor and then lastly it says life again our favorite thing We've talked about this a couple of times ago about life fountain of life flowing life um it's such a fun easy word to say but it has such a deep meaning because what we're doing right now is we're living we're we're living life you know we're going about our days you know if you're in camp ministry or if you're serving the lord you know you're you're doing hard work and that can be stressful and long and life can be difficult and frustrating at times but life can also be beautiful it can be awesome um it can restore your heart it can

bring about changes and um and just encourage
Wisdom and Knowledge as Foundations

you. And so, you know, we all need that. We need that in our day and age. We need life um in a world that speaks death, thinks death, shares death. um Death is everywhere. Sin is everywhere. But shares some life. wow And with the Lord, he brings that. So the second passage we're going to be at is Isaiah 33.

Isaiah 33 and we will be in verse six. So Isaiah 33 and verse six and it says this, wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times and the strength of salvation and the fear of the Lord is his treasure.
Applying Wisdom in Evangelism

So again, ties into this wisdom, this riches and honor and all this stuff. um Wisdom and knowledge are going to the be the stability of our times. if we are going If we want a stable time, if we want a time that is stable, that is honoring to God and glorifying Him, we need wisdom and we need knowledge. We need wisdom of who God is and we need knowledge of who God is. We need both of those things.

We need wisdom of how to apply the knowledge of God and how to share the gospel and how to share our worldview and share it in a way that connects with the people who are desperate with a need. um Too often we share the gospel in ways that are not very helpful. We just say, hey, you need Jesus. This is true. We do need Jesus. But what need do they have that Jesus can fulfill? You know, a lot of people struggle with anxiety, a lot of people struggle with fear, um a lot of people struggle with not feeling like they belong or anywhere. Jesus answers those questions and fulfills those, right? So start sharing and start listening to the people around you, the people who don't know Christ, who haven't heard the gospel, or maybe they have heard the gospel multiple times, but they've never heard it in a way that impacts them.
Listening and Healing in Faith

and listen to them. What do they struggle with? Do they struggle with fear? Well, God removes all fear. Jesus removes all fear and he's a great comforter. Do they struggle with peace? Jesus is peace. He can give them peace if they're struggling with anxiety and other other things like fear. um are they Are they really angry? Are they really struggling with you know why does God or why are these things happening to me or what are they what is their struggle where where are they at maybe they're they're struggling with health or sickness God heals

We pretend here in the States and we pretend, you know, maybe even as Christians of you listening, that God doesn't heal. We pretend like we have to get physicians, we have to get, you know, all these other stuff. And I'm not saying that those are not good and God didn't design those to be helpful. What I am saying is God still heals. He still does. He still heals human beings. He heals them inside and out and then he even heals them physically.
Prayer for Blessings and Humility

So, you know, prayer goes a long way. and can do a lot of things that if we believe that he answers and he does the things that he says he does in this Bible, it'll radically change your mindset. It'll radically change how you live. So, you know as we close this up, as we as we're talking about this concept of you know having fear having riches, honor, and life, we need to share that with the world. Share that that God brings riches, honor, and life

and live that out. um And so, you know, be praying for our staff today, be praying that God would provide them blessings this summer, that they would be able to see his blessings, to see awesome things happen, to see people come to know Christ, to see ah all their needs met by other people or by himself or him through other people or himself. Just be praying for us to see that because it can get so hard in ministry, it can get so hard in life, and you can get dragged down. um But we just need that reminder of life. We need that reminder of honor that God gives us honor, and we need that reminder.

that you know we can be given the riches we need or the money we need to take care of our needs. So, that's a prayer. Jesus, we thank you for this day. Lord, we are so thankful for each and every one listening. We just pray that you would bless them, bless them with riches and honor in life.

Lord, that you would glorify ah That you'd be glorified through their work and that um You know as they receive these things they would give it back to you in humility Lord We know that everything comes from you you provide it all for us. on just, oh, here's your textbook of how to share the gospel, but meet what they need. Where are they at? They're struggling with fear, struggling with sin, struggling with difficulties. Meet them where they're at. Help us to do that. Lord, it help us the rest of it today to be on and glorifying to you in what we say and do. That was to serve you with everything we have.
