Hello there, from Dublin to Cleveland family. It's great to be back with you. I am Brendan Thomas Marich.
Special Episode Teaser
00:00:11
Speaker
Oh my goodness, where is Logan? He's not here. Well, I don't know if he had sent me a message and said, oh, I think the next one will be like a Brendan original. Brendan was a little something special. And I think after a while I kind of picked up on the fight, but he meant it. So let's just see where this goes.
Return from Travels
00:00:32
Speaker
Okay, so it's great to be back with you. For me, it's been a couple weeks now since I got back from Australia. So yeah, gonna fill you in on the hot stuff and I've been on the bus.
Journey from Dublin to Athens
00:00:46
Speaker
So I went from Dublin at 5.55am to Athens in Greece. That took, I don't know,
00:01:00
Speaker
maybe up to six hours. Then I had a bit of a layover, so we had time for some beautiful Greek food. Mwah, so good. I didn't go exploring Greece because I've already explored it a lot of times before, including Athens. So I didn't feel that compulsion. But I do love Greece, so I intend to buy back next year. It's such a big country and so many beautiful islands. 6,000 of them.
00:01:28
Speaker
127 of which are inhabited, so I like to go and island up these days whenever I go.
Flight to Melbourne and Weather Challenges
00:01:37
Speaker
So from there, I went to Singapore. The plane was late getting in. on They were late to letting us off, so that was very much our dash to the opposite end of the airport. And then from there, flew into Melbourne.
00:01:58
Speaker
I had Melbourne, it was very late and late, and it was raining. You know, you picture Australia. At least we've gone from a rainy country like mine, although today is glorious. The last thing you expect to see is rain. So I said, okay, it's too dark to photograph anything I'd like to see, and anywhere I'd like to go was probably closed. So I said, enough's enough, enough of that crack.
00:02:25
Speaker
So I went into the Christian prayer room, read the Bible, all the chapters when Jesus and the disciples delivered people with demons and that kind of thing, and answered some phone calls at such a big build up. And one of my former colleagues and very dear friends sent me a message and said, hey, Brendan, I'm gifting you tickets to Hamilton in Dublin. For when I got back, such a treat.
00:02:55
Speaker
So after that, I flew into Gold Coast, which was to be my first time.
Gold Coast Arrival and Beach Exploration
00:03:04
Speaker
So in Gold Coast, I arrived several hours earlier than the rest of my friends. And I thought that we would be staying in the Hilton Hotel. We're actually staying at an apartment inside the bag. So the key holder was not affiliated with hotel.
00:03:24
Speaker
and his details were unknown to me, only a certain individual knew who he was, and there was a lot of delay in that information circulating back to me. So I think for like nine hours, I just... Looking back now, what was I thinking? I just walked up and down the beach in the sunshine for like nine hours straight, but it was great. Within a few minutes, I saw that there were very big on containers, which we could lean our lungs in. So I was like, jacket, runners, backpack. Because I literally traveled across the world with only backpack on my shoulders. But my goodness, it was heavy. I'm very braving. I didn't have a lot of leg room. Let's put it that way on the planes. of Which I'd probably spend 25 hours in the air over those couple days.
00:04:19
Speaker
um so yeah just walked up and down it was just gorgeous got a bit of sunburn who cares got a nice tan which only continued as time went on and yeah that night met up with uh my european friends we'd all run over for a big revival event. So the next day, we had some teen bonding. We all got to know each other, but better, saw each other in the wild. So we went to an animal sanctuary in Gold Coast. Saw the kangaroos, saw the koalas, saw all manner of creatures, snakes, spiders, dingoes, of course, it's a Tasmanian devil,
00:05:07
Speaker
You know, I'm not the biggest animal lover
Animal Sanctuary Visit and Reflections
00:05:11
Speaker
in the world. I do like looking at animals behind the last many cages.
00:05:16
Speaker
But in terms of actually wanting pets, the likes, I don't see the people. I don't see the attraction. Some people have very bad thoughts to me for that. I just, we're all different. I think it's hard enough loving people, but loving four-legged creatures running around in the two-legged ones, but not some tails and three-legged-old kangaroos. Can't hack it. Can't hack it.
00:05:39
Speaker
But you know, angels were made to be God's staff and they remained in His Holiness. Animals were made in His pleasure, probably to show His creativity and obviously they have other ecological functions as well. But as amazing as the animal kingdom is, it blows my mind that we were made as humans and as love to rule and to reign with Him and for Him on the earth.
00:06:09
Speaker
It's phenomenal. It really is. Blows my mind. Just it's all what's getting attention. It's put into all things. That's really those people the most. Even though we cause them a lot of stress on our own. Well, it doesn't get stressed as God. But, uh, no one breaks God's heart quite like humans do, eh? So, after that, um, yeah.
Revival Event Challenges
00:06:39
Speaker
The Gold Coast Revivals began. So the first night, or Thursday, rather, I kind of got to know the Australian team a bit better, who'd be helping us out. There were some beautiful, beautiful people along the way. Oh, and the Gold Coast, they were all beautiful, I'll be honest. But some that I particularly said, you're gonna be forever friends. Either you don't like it, you are adopting you.
00:07:09
Speaker
And I'm going to do it for food initially, so I was a bit icebreaker. And then went to the venue to set it up. And night one was quite a challenging one actually. A lot of people came with a very religious mindset. Who really wants to be free? Sometimes people want to be in the presence of God or in the presence of Holy Spirit activity, but not actually get caught up in it, not to get swept up in it. Bit disappointing.
00:07:38
Speaker
Um, especially because they They during worship. They gave it sucks. But then when they actually gave him time to pray and they didn't really want, um, Holy Spirit to do his thing. It's okay, we're on a journey. Night two.
00:07:57
Speaker
There was a massive improvement. That was very, very evident. A lot of people got healed and got breakthroughs. It was just wonderful to see all the spirit spokes, some people directly. I say some, there are hundreds in the room, but the yeah totally undefinable some.
00:08:19
Speaker
this her um And the night ended, I'm gonna go up the mess and close so you can maybe possibly still see the scar, although I don't know just how clear it is anymore. um The night ended about 11 p.m.
Altercation and Injury at Revival
00:08:35
Speaker
so my European friends and I and one of the Australians were leaving the venue about 10 past 11 and across the road we saw 10 Aussies. Sorry Australian lads, I love you a lot but these guys were nuts and probably coat up the rivals.
00:08:52
Speaker
And maybe on another one or two things as well. Beating the living daylights out of 10 women. Not good, not good. There were young women probably in their 20s. If they're running in their 30s, I'd be surprised to be honest. Maybe late teens, 20s. So I just figured someone had to do something, right? So...
00:09:19
Speaker
fancying myself with something of Hercules and those ladies, those damsels in distress. I took to cross the road to see what was going on, kind of, could do a quick survey. Saw that one guy was getting the life strangled out of him, so I said, you are my purity. So I grabbed the half-naked bloke who was strangling him, tucked him to one side, picked the guy up, and said, okay, off you go now. I tell, he was becoming like,
00:09:48
Speaker
Hulk smash purely Australians. And I said, no. You can end this. I know you want to restore your honor and validate your manliness and blah blah blah blah. But if you walk away, this is over. If you stay, you're only going to add fuel to whatever fire is currently going on, because the time had just gone nuts. It was chaos theory 101, pure bedlam.
00:10:22
Speaker
um Then with the women, obviously my my main priority was to keep them safe. um and uh the next thing one of them ran up and we had a hues in the end with having done something to our cousin or someone nonsense and he just went live it totally ballistic so he threw his fist you of could have walked away and all this would have been over
00:10:55
Speaker
um so he was like i didn't do anything i'm in the race we're not the wrong you're doing anything and i was like you you just punched a woman nation in the ground hello so then i became this target and again clocked me in the eye and initially i didn't really okay i felt the skin obviously but i didn't feel like beyond that um and i just thought seriously it was actually had this night it's gonna go to go So I could see he was going into a frenzy, but I'll backbend on tragedy. But I still decided my aim was not to put him down, my aim was to keep the girl safe. So I stared at my feet, because only two things should put a man down, sleep and death. And I did get a couple of nice clicks in, okay? So punches and some kicks. But my main objective was to keep the girl safe from them.
00:11:52
Speaker
A night's good to go out and my friend AO jumped in as well and kind of held him back from what would have led to a full-on fist fight. That's just the way it was going, effectively. And then my other friends took her across the road and kind of helped keep the girls safe and try to form a human barricade. And the next thing the Australian police arrived.
00:12:18
Speaker
and One of whom said, I don't know how to deal with this situation in his own accent. And I think this is like ridiculous given everything that was going on, but I had noticed it too. There's a homeless guy only like a few meters away, like five meters away on his mat and he'd obviously been woken up with this whole brawl, right? And then I heard another of the police officers go, do you know what the worst thing is, lads?
00:12:49
Speaker
they totally just kind of woken up the sleeping homeless man and i was like i agree but that's not really the worst thing that's happened okay i agree that that's unfortunate his sleeping a casualty of his bedlam when i've used the superlative worst i don't think so i don't think so so my friend was like we need to take a statement we need to take a statement pointing at me
00:13:20
Speaker
and he was like no i said what but oh okay I'll be honest, when that stayed, I didn't much care.
Hospital Visit and Reflections
00:13:29
Speaker
I just wanted to out of the situation. As far as I as far as as i was concerned, it was over. It was done. Our contribution had been made. So we were a few meters down the road, and then I said, oh, my glasses, my glasses. Totally, you know, Velma Jenkins from Scooby-Doo. My glasses. I can't see where that my glasses. So ran back, couldn't see them.
00:13:53
Speaker
But my friend did, and she picked them up, and they're actually a little scratched on the inside. So whenever I brushed my finger against the inside lens, I remember that night very vividly. And she asked, do you have a tissue? And I was thinking, a tissue? Well, I have one with my smarts that I've already blown my nose into. And she was like, give it to me.
00:14:19
Speaker
So I gave it to her and then she put the tissue in my eye and I saw it was streaming with blood. And I thought, oh man, this is nuts. So I was like, is it okay? Is it bad? And they were like, oh, it's bad. So we got into the Hilton Hotel, the apartments were in the back, but we'd used our lift. We were on the 23rd floor. And while I got in, all the bowls were glass mirrors.
00:14:49
Speaker
and Oh my goodness. My whole face was brown and just the blood straining from it. It was nasty. I thought, what have I done? So we got into our apartment. I went into my room. Got some antiseptic wipes, which normally I would never take with me, but I just had an inclination of Holy Spirit just before leaving.
00:15:17
Speaker
for Athens to get a couple. To put those to my eye, took off my t-shirt, and I had blood all the way down my chest. It was vile. So then I took some tissue, and I'm trying to hold it in, and whatever else. A mop-up was pouring out. And then my friend Laura said, I've just moved the phone to a mutual friend of ours, Brad. She said he's getting the car. He'll get us by in a minute. We're going to the hospital.
00:15:47
Speaker
Asking, you know, I don't want to be a bother. It's funny. Well, I'm not supposed to be here for Jesus. I'm for part Jesus, part holiday. No one wants to go to the hospital and on another holiday. And she was like, get in that car. But she did ask, do you have insurance? And sure I was thinking, so what concern what but what is insurance? And I never to get insurance. No, of course not.
00:16:14
Speaker
um don't any evil people don't do something wicked in the future okay i might be inspired to get some after this story uh or to take it out and she said i'll put you online we're fine so went downstairs you drove us in the hospital which is maybe 20-30 minutes away in my car and i gotta give as dramatic event doing the stories and getting down but obviously with the More energy and more emphasis because it was very, very fresh in my mind. And then I just felt all these spirits say, pray for them. Not just when it hits you, but a whole lot of them. So that's what we did in the car on the way up. It was beautiful. So arrived in triage. Thankfully, it was mostly empty. There were only a couple of people there. So I don't think I've ever used the phrase damsels in distress as much in 24 hours as I began using in that moment.
00:17:13
Speaker
So I filled in the paperwork, that's my ability, my friend Lara filled in my phone. And then we were taken to a bed. So I laid down and those two stood and sat with me all night long. They were incredible, my absolute heroes. And then so the doctor came and he didn't really know He didn't look like he knew what he was doing, God willing. And I just said, okay, either he's very young and new, or else he's used to helping people with actual problems. So he put stitches on my eyes, and I thought, oh dear, this is nuts. I never thought I'd be one of those guys who had stitches. i I like adventure, and I do take risks. But I usually weigh it up with a certain measure of safety.
00:18:09
Speaker
But you know what? People have asked me since then, did I do the right thing? Would I do something differently? And my answer, honest to God, is no, I wouldn't. We can all look back and say, did I like Kevin to the hospital? No. Did I like coming back to Ireland and being told by people and idiot I was helping these women because they didn't say thank you. But whatever else, you know, that's all to one side. In the moment,
00:18:39
Speaker
There was no time to pray. Open up the Bible and look for 10 Bible verses. Wait on an an angelic visitation and a moment. It was one of those do or die moments. You get in and make a snapshot decision. Or you walk away, like most other people do, because they're too afraid and they've been conditioned not to be madly, not to be masculine, not to be heroes,
00:19:09
Speaker
but to be bystanders, passers-by, and totally utterly redundant and eventual. Not good enough. When I looked across that road, I saw my sister, some of my female cousins. I saw young women that I pour into as a spiritual leader, ministerially. And I would like to thank the someone who jumped in to help them if ever, God forbid, they were in that situation. So that's who I saw one left to cross in my mind's eye.
00:19:40
Speaker
jumping in was the only alternative. Now, the only difference I really could have made was going in aggressively, or going in trying to pacify, and even could be pacified. And you know what, I still think I went to the right intentions. I do. So, yeah, I'll have to say that in the next, oh, that whole possible saga lasted five hours. And we're spread very, very quickly. And,
00:20:08
Speaker
the ministry who were in Australia with me and by and large, people were very, very appreciative of what I'd done. Very congratulatory. I thought it was a very commendable endeavor, which I appreciated. And then, yeah, it's the third night, which is great. And it was said to me the enemy came after your eye because you are a seer, which obviously it makes total sense, that I am. And on any other occasion, I would have prophetically slapped that together beforehand. Then the next day, we just had the most wonderful pastors, Jayden and Linda, drive all the way from chemistry to Gold Coast, a-hour journey, and they're many of us to take us back.
Kempsey Hospitality and Revival Aspirations
00:21:04
Speaker
and to their church in Kempsey, Transformation Church. um And not only did they take a mini-bus, but they also had a trailer in the back for over luggage, so it would be an extra legroom. You know everything in Kempsey, I've never heard of Kempsey. Kempsey is what ROD, where I live, is in Ireland. It's a
00:21:27
Speaker
I don't even know who's heard of it. It's like, yeah, I've driven through there once before. Most people don't know where it is. and It's only the Nazareth of Israel. You know, nothing good because of the Nazareth.
00:21:40
Speaker
am But my goodness, incredible people come out of chemistry. They really, really do. And the church had brought in five boards and dozens of beds so they could set up a male dormitory, a female dormitory, and a room for married couples.
00:21:57
Speaker
married couple They had a tea and coffee station which was always in the ghetto. We were never without sandwiches. We had hot meals all throughout the day. Games events where the congregants jumped in and played games with us. And the congregants were always coming in and out. The congregants were setting up new TVs and chairs and gazebos. Their congregation could have run this revival themselves. I genuinely don't think they needed us.
00:22:26
Speaker
And they just want to see MC revived, and Australia alive.
00:22:34
Speaker
Four things that they want to see. The dead alive, the band freed, hell depopulated, and heaven full. That makes them what kind of people. They were just phenomenal. And even on the beds, you know, they they had welcome packs for all of us as well, with photographs of Australia, and photo frames,
00:22:54
Speaker
and hand soaps, cloths, snacks. They were just phenomenal, phenomenal people. and Skittles are a big thing in Australia, which I haven't known. Skittles are great. So, yeah, we had a and revival there for two days as well, and I really got to know the Australian team very, very intimately well there. Most of the ones from Gold Coast came with us. So then, after that,
00:23:25
Speaker
Some of the congregants said, alright guys, it's time to start taking you back to the airport. So they took a Belgian guy, a French guy, myself, and back to our respective airports, which was very short. In total, probably took them four to six hours. Didn't accept cash, and I gave them some and said, listen, put in your tightest muffin's basket for goodness sakes. But just started to love Jesus. Just because we love Jesus.
Return Journey and Humorous Commentary
00:23:53
Speaker
So I went from Gold Coast Air Force and flew down to Sydney. Then from Sydney, flew to Vietnam. From Vietnam, flew to Paris. And I pronounced it Charles de Gaulle mistakenly in my culturally ignorant Irish mind. Apparently it was a Shaw de Gaulle. Nonsense. Absolutely nonsense. And then got a train.
00:24:25
Speaker
all the way down to Paris Doli. I would have liked to have done a bit of sightseeing in Paris. I had meant to go last year, but it just didn't happen. We were late arriving there after a 14-hour flight, which, my goodness. I guess you all can't really believe I actually sat through that and survived. I had a gladiator to keep me company.
00:24:52
Speaker
And tried watching Dune on the flight, didn't happen. What a slow, ridiculous, talking talk and talk and talk and pause, pause, pause movie. I didn't know what was going on. So after 45 minutes, like I said, not this crack. Let's go back to Friday and Er, watch what I'm familiar with, watch what I know. And I think I rewatched 2019 to Latin as well. So then from,
00:25:20
Speaker
Oh yeah, then plus the bridge was broken. The bridge that connects the airport, the airplane. So that was another delight. And not for that, I would have done some sightseeing in Paris that we have. But yeah, they got to Paris Dory Airport and then back to Dublin for about 2pm.
00:25:39
Speaker
and And you know what, the infamous jet lag everyone foretold me about? Didn't happen. Didn't happen. Uh, probably because I've gotten so much to sleep on the planes to avoid jet lag. Uh, I didn't see the plane engine arriving there and sleeping for two days or coming home and sleeping for two days. I was like, I need to get back into into the world of work and start getting more money if I think I'm- I thought it might have been less than it had been in a lot of, uh, a few million, but uh, the Earth's equally important, at least for now.
Ministry Transition and Future Plans
00:26:11
Speaker
So, yeah, you know what? It's uh, it was an adventure. It most certainly was.
00:26:19
Speaker
Traveling around the world, by the end. um Sadly, God's supposed to be very, very clearly. And by the time of that particular ministry, I'm not gonna say who it is, but you can watch previous videos to protect if you can hear me say it. It's over. It's over. But very definitely andre leads to and get off the train while it's still moving. Off you go.
00:26:47
Speaker
um but i've taken
00:26:51
Speaker
some good, some great friends, some lifelong friends, I do believe that, some forever friends, got some beautiful memories, gleaned what I had to glean, which I can put into my own life, put into practice in in my world. And, you know, God's so good that he always had something else planned, doesn't he? and I'm going to start doing a discipleship course with my own adults at very very soon just a week away from when I'm recording this and that's going to be intensive it'll be every Wednesday it'll run from maybe two to three hours in the evening time and it'll do
00:27:39
Speaker
biweekly. So it's a one week take week off, one week take week off. It's got 20 parts. So I've run for just under a year, actually, unless God chooses to extend it. So, you know, he shuts one door, and he opens up another one, sometimes very promptly, sometimes that fast. But he's absolutely good. And it's just such an honor to be able to serve God Almighty, He's a co-labor with Christ and His children.
00:28:07
