14. We are on for this lesson is about the fear of the Lord is at the light. It's a joy. um So we are going to be in, ah let's see, we're going to be in Isaiah 11.3.

um So Isaiah 11 3 says this, his delight is in the fear of the lord and he shall not judge but the side of his eyes nor decide by the hearing of his ears So this is talking about Jesus. This is talking about Jesus's you know coming, the reign of Jesse's offspring.
Struggles with Delighting in God's Word

and so his delight Jesus' delight was in ma amazon was on the Lord, right? In the fear of the Lord. He loved his law. um If you remember him's story as a kid going to the temple and just like sitting there for hours and hours, parents don't have no idea where he is and he's just learning and teaching and he's like 11 or 12 years old. Nut story.

um and just how much he loves it. I think we we as Americans or we as Christians are just terrible at loving God's word. um You know, it's like pulling teeth for a lot of us, right? We get to church or we go to read our Bible and we're just like, oh gosh i're gonna read this again we're We're just terrible at it, right? We're just terrible at this idea of delighting in the Lord, of getting joy and reading his word or joy and in stuff. um And really the only way you kind of get those feelings or emotions is if you like continue in it for a while um and you make it a ah priority. And so... um You know, that's that's really important is to find that the light, to find that fear of the Lord is we have to really think about that, focus on that, and pay attention to that.
Judging with Righteousness and Understanding

um Remind ourselves of it continually. Tie it to our fingers or bind it to our wrists like our wristbands or, you know, tie it to our heads so that it's right in front of our eyes at all times because, boy, we do not do that.

um He did not, Christ did not judge by the sight of his eyes. Boy, are we bad at judging by people's like by our eyes, right? We see something and we're like, judge. We're like, man, they're ugly or they're this or they're that and we judge by our eyes. That's not how Christ did. um He didn't judge by his eyes, nor did he decide by the hearing of his ears. So just by listening or having people tell him things, he didn't decide things. He decided by righteousness, um you know, and decide with equity for the meek in the earth. So, you know, that's something that can be something for us. You know, we're going to have

parrot camp for me and maybe for you as well, you're going to have difficulty situations maybe this week or maybe this month or whatever that you're going to have to make some decisions and you're going to have to make some choices and we shouldn't just make quick decisions based on what we see because maybe we don't see the whole story, right?
Decision-Making with Full Understanding

Maybe we see it with a blurred lens and we don't just make decisions by what we hear, right? Because sometimes we get one side of the story and we're like, and that person iss terrible

But really, you didn't hear the other side of the story. So you have to listen to both sides of the story. You need to get the full counsel that you can before you make decisions on things. Sometimes we can't do that, right? Sometimes we have to buy something quicker or if something small and we can't get all the information we need. But for the most part, when we're having an issue or a problem or a struggle, we need to make sure that we're making decisions not by just by what we see or just by what we're told. um so As we think about this, as we think about delighting in the Lord, um you know just be praying for our staff, be praying for me, that our delight would be in God, that our joy comes from God. It doesn't come from

success, it doesn't come from money, it doesn't come from you know doing something fun, it just comes from God. We just delight in Him. um That will say, and that will do a lot in kids' lives, in people's lives, if they see that we genuinely love living for the Lord, love what He is, love who He is, and love serving Him. And we don't do enough of that. So whats let's delight in that. So as we go to prayer, pray for our staff that way they would be that way. Pray for your hearts. Pray for my heart. We would delight in the Lord. um So let's close in prayer.
Prayer for Wisdom and Delight in God's Word

Dear Lord, we just pray that you would help us to delight in you. We would serve you with everything we have. Lord, that our joy, our passion, our excitement would come from you. It wouldn't come from

dodgeball. It wouldn't come from ah sin or frustration or video games or any of these other things that maybe we're either not doing enough of or we don't where we want to do more of, but Lord, that our delight would come from you. Help us to delight in you and what you have for us and are doing for us. Help us not to delight in the wrong things. Help us to lighten you. Help us to make decisions wisely. Lord, help us to listen. Help us to not judge by our eyes. Help us to listen to all sides of the story. um Because, Lord, we know at camp, we know at workplaces, tensions rise, frustrations come in, um difficulties and stresses from two different angles come.

And Lord, we need to make wise decisions. Help us to not judge by those things. Help us to judge like you did on this earth. And judging with equity for the meek of the earth, and judging rightly and righteousness. Help us to judge wisely. Help us to make good and wise decisions in all that we do. Lord, continue to encourage us. Continue to help our delight and our love to be on you. Lord, thank you so much for all you do in Jesus' name, amen. So Lord, I hope for those of you list, That you would find your delight in the Lord.

People are good things. um You wouldn't find it in video games. Video games are good things. You wouldn't find it in food or any of those other things kinds of things. That your joy, that your delight is in God's word. um So, hopefully that encourages you. Hopefully that that maybe convicts you a little bit, gets you a little uncomfortable so you can start making some decisions, make some thinking choices and start thinking about how you interact. Not only is the world, but you interact with God's word and how much you love it and care for it. So, let's, hopefully you all have a great rest of the day.
