Speaker: Now for our fun fact of the day. Do you know what the first Super Bowl halftime show was like? It took place in 1967 and was titled Super Sights and Sounds. It featured music from the University of Arizona symphonic marching band.
Speaker: In the first decade of the Super Bowls, most of the halftime performances were of marching bands. They were not as extravagant as they are today. Before the 1993 Super Bowl halftime show, the Super Bowl was actually losing viewers during halftime.
Speaker: During the 1992 Super Bowl, ratings dropped significantly as viewers switched channels to watch the special episode of In Living Color on Fox instead.
Speaker: While some big stars started performing in the early 90s, like Gloria Estefan and New Kids on the Block, it was actually Michael Jackson's performance in 1993 that transformed the Super Bowl halftime show from filler entertainment to blockbuster spectacle.
Speaker: At the time, the Guinness Book of World Records named it one of the most watched television events of all time in the U.S. It's also been named one of the greatest halftime performances of all time, although there have been many big performances since then. What do you think has been the best?
Speaker: Well, I'm biased and I know it hasn't been your favorite, but I like The Weeknd. Okay. Yes. I also really liked Kendrick Lamar's. Which one do you think is the best?
Speaker: I thought Beyonce's was the best when, but more specifically when Destiny's Child reunited for like a minute, I wish it was longer.
Speaker: All right, let's jump into a quick round of this or that based on today's theme.
Speaker: This or that celebrity superlatives, best sense of humor, Nate Bargatze or Nikki Glaser. All right. I got to be honest. When I first heard Nate, I thought he was drunk and slurring his speech. I don't know. It's a little distracting for me. I think they said it's like his accent too, like his thick Tennessee accent. Oh, okay. His Southern accent. Okay. But Nikki is hilarious to me.
Speaker: i don't know why, but the things she says can be taken as so malicious, but for some reason she's able to deliver it in a way that just makes funny and not personal. um Neighbor Gotzee,
Speaker: Love his dry sense of humor. But yeah, I have to go with Nikki Glaser. Nikki Glaser, I feel like she always has like a really good spin on some things that like you don't expect. And so it makes it so funny. Like, I don't know if you remember at the Golden Globes recently, she hosted...
Speaker: And she started she made a joke about Leo DiCaprio with like ah a younger girl or something. And I was like, seriously, that is so overdone. But then she like took a spin on it where it was like, we don't know what you, Leo. Like all we know is like yeah from Teen B. Yeah. I got to go with Nikki Glaser.
Speaker: She's great. She's a queen. up And she's comedy queen. Okay, this or that celebrity superlatives most likely to become president, Paris Hilton or Dwayne The Rock Johnson.
Speaker: Okay, Paris Hilton has been getting a lot of stuff done. I think, she personally, think she would be an amazing president, and I would love to see, like, the entire White House turned pink. I think that would be really fun. I agree. i really like her demeanor, and I think she would get stuff done.
Speaker: Yeah. But I really like The Rock, too. He seems really compassionate, and I think he'd be a ah rational fair leader. Yes. And from what I've read, a lot of people would support him. So I think he has the best chance at becoming president. He's most too likely, but we both want Paris Hilton to be president. Yeah, exactly. Someday we'll have a woman president. Someday.
