Katie Higgins: We're back. Welcome to episode 7 We have thoughts. We have so many thoughts. We've been going through the thoughts that we maybe shouldn't share. publicly or behind the scenes thoughts or behind the scenes thoughts. That. That is going to, that would be a.
Katie Higgins: That would be a VIP membership. If you want to come in here, the thoughts that are behind the scenes. And probably a non -disclosure. And a non -disclosure. Hey, listen, I'm good at, I'm good at, uh. Okay.
Katie Higgins: we have lots of having those we have lots of inside thoughts and we share our outside thoughts with y 'all yes but sometimes we we worry that you're not ready for some of our inside thoughts Well, you know.
Katie Higgins: As we were. So, Julia. is My manager for my company. And she's. She's in the back right now because we're recording it. the boutique and She does not listen to the podcast because she's like, why do I need to listen to the podcast? I listen to you.
Katie Higgins: All a day. all day. and But she doesn't listen to Emily all day. That's right, Julia. I know. I know. wait she's so excited so i said aren't you excited julia you are going to get to hear You're for episode seven is going to be your first episode to hear. We better make it a good one. We've got to make it a good one. But... Julia is also privy to all of our inside thoughts. So she was like, Katie.
Katie Higgins: what are you saying? And I said, nothing you haven't heard me say before. right none of this is news to you it's just not on the record it's just not on the record so now here's our Outside thoughts.
Katie Higgins: From Emily and Katie. on the record. to share with all To share with all of you. And you know what? I hope that... because we do talk about politics on here, and I think we're quite... Kind.
Katie Higgins: About. it. I'm open. no we're not so much no i don't think we often I think i think we are. Um... We're passionate.
Katie Higgins: We are passionate in our and and in our convictions. Yes, but But we are not... It doesn't take away from love we have for...
Katie Higgins: people who think differently than us. Well, because here's what I'm going to say. We're not sitting here um Calling people. Talafrico. Do you know what I mean? rue Like, I'm sorry, but that's like... I do sometimes call.
Katie Higgins: our governor. now. A lot of people do. Okay. But also Hot Wheels is different than. It's kind of fun. Than a freak. Yeah. It's kind of fun. Yeah.
Katie Higgins: yeah um So anyways. Welcome to Episode 7 of We Have Thoughts. Well, A weekly recap? Yeah. Sadly. Yep.
Katie Higgins: your travel plans were were um a bust yeah uh for those of you who might recall uh the Your LA trip was so fantastic. was fan fantastic chance airport meetings call outs from the um from her instagram yes But then that... polo that hurricane polo that came across hurricane i love it when you and julia both get this this accent
Katie Higgins: And I'm obsessed with it. And it came across to Central Texas. and was supposed to dump an obscene amount of rain. And it did rain. ah Don't get me wrong. It did. A lot. I don't think.
Katie Higgins: They had the flash flooding that they were anticipating. Which is so good. given the year that they have had and the terrain that they do have. They, in an abundance of caution, canceled.
Katie Higgins: the Stephen Wilson Jr. concert. And this was... This was Justin's concert. I know. So... He has already... We're going to go see him in Houston when they announce that.
Katie Higgins: okay but it also meant that i didn't get to go to the bougie hotel i see i went when i um for me on the trip yes well and i also when i saw that you had I saw somewhere that you had posted that and I literally this now, this is the only part we were talking about how like.
Katie Higgins: Are. Our plan worked. This is so fun. Because when... Who... In your 40s, when you are a mom and you are involved in things and such and such and such, even though you say you're retired, you're still involved in so many things.
Katie Higgins: and when like who do you actually get to like catch up with like your your girlfriends. weekly. And like that doesn't happen. No. But because we created a podcast.
Katie Higgins: It does happen. So if there's a friend out there. That you need to see regularly. Go ahead and start a podcast. Might we suggest doing this because also my favorite favorite podcast is there's another one Um, My favorite podcast.
Katie Higgins: other than ours of course no is um called the big boo and it literally is just two women catching up I love it. and so you know i really should sit down with these podcasts well the queen of the podcasts over here no i don't listen to them don't then you're but you're great on them so but the downside to this is i thought I thought, oh.
Katie Higgins: i want to see like i should i want to find out what what her plans are instead. And I thought, no, I'll save that for the podcast. Are you kidding me? That's so stupid. I should have texted you, but I did. I thought, oh, I'll bet they're still going because of the bougiee hotel so now bougie hotel. hotel. No, Justin went to work. Okay. As soon as they canceled it, he canceled our hotel and he went to work.
Katie Higgins: And I got to help Soph clean out her closet and drawers. Such a fun activity. um And she is like her mama, a little pack rat. you know And so we got it all cleaned out. Okay.
Katie Higgins: And everything is is tidy, tidy. It was not. A wild turkey at the St. Is it Anthony's? I think St. George something. um I can't remember. Culture lessons with Emily. It's some hotel in San Antonio that I was looking forward to, but we are going to go when he announced. Oh, I thought you were saying some cute little, like, um, Oh, no, no. Like phrase.
Katie Higgins: No. Then what hotel was this? It was it was the one that um Herb Kelleher. Okay, yes, I remember you telling me that. Sat at. drew he drew it on the napkin cocktail napkin and it's a it's a hotel bar okay we were gonna stay there Okay. And that got canceled. And it's called Wild Turkey? No, no, no. Wild Turkey is a whiskey.
Katie Higgins: But that's what he was drinking because it's Herb's favorite. That's what he was drinking when he wrote the napkin. Yes. But it was at a hotel. It's like St. Anthony or St. George. Oh, I see. I see. Something. Okay. But I can't remember for the life of me.
Katie Higgins: Bummer. So didn't go. Um... We are going to go when he comes to Houston. He did offer. Stephen Wilson Jr. is playing, um it sounds like, maybe at a casino somewhere in Oklahoma on New Year's Eve. Oh, that would be fun. Which is our anniversary. I don't really have an interest in going to a casino in...
Katie Higgins: Oklahoma. for my anniversary. yeah You know? Now that I picture it. You know. It's not really what I would call. No. What I would want to do. It doesn't scream romance on an Emily level. No. And.
Katie Higgins: Lots of smoke. Probably. Yeah. Yeah. Which I think you handle better than I do. but Yeah, because then I'll probably decide. You know what sounds really good right now? A cigarette. I know. I don't think those words have ever come out of my mouth. But then...
Katie Higgins: i see li you i think we're the one that we're like you were like doesn't this outfit just Right, wasn't this you? i don't know finish the sentence was it wouldn't this outfit be so much prettier like with a like a slim cigarette oh yeah maybe was it my um those Cream genie panties. Yeah. Because you feel so French and you're like, I really just need a glass of wine and it's like a Virginia slim. And so and then suddenly I started like.
Katie Higgins: picturing outfits with the cigarettes and I thought, that's not good. That's not good. It's very chic. But it looked so chic. It does. It does because it's very French. Well, and on Emily in Paris, they all smoke.
Katie Higgins: Well, and in Paris, everybody smoked. Right. So. you know I digress. Yes. So that's no concert update from me. Okay. Instead, I was momming it this weekend. All right. um Doing some sewing as well. Oh, we did. We we ah successfully.
Katie Higgins: figured out the first Javanese knot bag. for sophie so um the beating the french i'm so excited uh it was a difficult pattern Okay. To explain. Okay. Lots of new steps. But what I love is each new pattern that she decides she wants to tackle teaches a new skill. Okay.
Katie Higgins: So like the lace bag that she wanted to make, she is learning how to do French seams. And so this one, she learned how to use interfacing. So each...
Katie Higgins: thing she's learning a new skill this is slowly building she won't need me to be in a sewing room, I think. much longer. Wow. Which would be great, right?
Katie Higgins: Oh, but won't you miss your sweatshop? Well, I mean, I can, so I could have a glass of wine in this wet shop. There you go. You can just sit and watch. Moral support. I love this. Okay. Speaking of glass of wine.
Katie Higgins: Educate our people, our friends on what we are drinking because um this is so fun today's cocktail is actually an aperitif. Okay. It is just straight Lillet Blanc.
Katie Higgins: Which is a fortified wine. Sounds so beautiful. um On ice. i the first time i ever had this It was at Lynn Hewitt's house. who you've Yes. You've met. Quite the hostess. She is an amazing hostess. Yes. And if you know anything about drinking with Lynn Hewitt, you know you've only ever had one glass of wine.
Katie Higgins: I'm telling you. It's only ever one. One. glass of wine. And that's because she never lets her glass go dry. And and in the most like. tasteful. Loving and tasteful and And just glorious way. Yes. And half the time you don't even know it's been refilled. I didn't. She's like a ninja. She's a wine ninja. Yes. And so I was. confident.
Katie Higgins: that I had only asked for a refill. Maybe twice. When in reality... The limit does not exist. I... I needed a major nap. yeah a major major nap So she hosted a party once.
Katie Higgins: and offered this as the the beginning cocktail of the evening before dinner started and and it is just It's slightly sweet. um it's really good with oranges um i can definitely like if you're gonna have friends over for a barbecue now that things are cooling off it's a lovely thing to have with Uh, something salty?
Katie Higgins: I mean... Yeah. that something really salty would be very good like you know know those parmesan crisps oh yes Those thoses would be good. I do love, I love a savory, salty anything. When I was really sick with Crohn's disease in 2020.
Katie Higgins: And I couldn't eat. much of anything i would sometimes just like dip my finger in salt Or like Tony Chachere's and just. like You should have hung out with Nancy Wenzel. Salt is her favorite thing. I love salt. i Like, no such thing as too salty. I mean, okay, there is, but like, there's not.
Katie Higgins: Yeah. Love, Sol. not as much as my mom and the way she solves i mean it's she's like chef level like you know when you watch a cooking show. and they're like a tablespoon of salt and they look You know, and if you and I were going to do it, we would go and get the tablespoon measurement.
Katie Higgins: But then you watch them and they just take a fistful of salt. Wow. And throw it in. It's kind of like that. And you're like, that's why their food tastes so much better. Mom and I use the exact same, like she who is who taught me how to make.
Katie Higgins: Chicken noodle soup from scratch, right? Yum. Hers. infinitely better. And I watched her one time make it. I'm like, you. an aggressive soldier. Like... And you think that's the only difference in yours and hers is just that she uses more salt. I think it is. Well, there you go. I think it is. Use more salt. A homemade chicken soup is.
Katie Higgins: Like chicken noodle soup is so good. It is the best. Now I want to make some. So, so yeah. um Okay. So. what else did not go to San Antonio, but had mom time.
Katie Higgins: And I processed all of my basil from my garden. What does that even look like? So, if well. It was too overfilled. 5 gallon buckets.
Katie Higgins: I mean, I was basically growing a basil tree. Okay. I have no words of gardening wisdom other than... Ignore it? And let your sprinklers and sun do the work. Interesting. I have heard a few people say this. So I took it all over to mom's.
Katie Higgins: We made... a gallon, which is as well as i get maybe more than a gallon we're not great at math uh nine Cups. No, a dozen. cups of i I'm like... Making a face that's like...
Katie Higgins: like i think i know what i'm doing i don't i don't know how to do all that yeah so we made a gallon plus of pesto. Yum. So we have stocked the freezers with pesto and little pesto discs to add to soups and stews. Whoa.
Katie Higgins: And then we made. ah basil flower vinegar. So all of the flowers from basil, we are testing out some new things with this. We took all the flowers from the basil. Okay.
Katie Higgins: And put them in a jar and covered with vinegar. Okay. And in two weeks. supposedly it's going to turn pink, which I'm very excited about. Okay. And then we strain it out and you can use it to make salad dressings. Okay.
Katie Higgins: I... Could there be some sort of basil martini out of this? Probably. Because I love vinegar. Like, I mean, not like not like a glass of vinegar, obviously. Right.
Katie Higgins: But... Ooh. Well, what it might be, we also made about a pound and a half of basil salt. Oh. And so maybe there is a way to kind of like a.
Katie Higgins: Like a salt. Like. um water like a like you know right add salinity to cocktails okay Like. here's our salt water. You could maybe do it out of that. Interesting. Which I think would be pretty powerful and lovely. Because I think maybe one time we need to do an episode where we.
Katie Higgins: Um. Well, I really want to try that. blue cheese thing. Oh yeah. That we talked about where you soak it. you soak it right or you know you um yeah you you put the blue cheese and the vodka and the vodka or gin together throw it in the fridge and leave it for a while Mm hmm.
Katie Higgins: We could. I don't know if it would be a podcast just because it would be more like almost like a cooking show, but we could, we could. come to my kitchen That could be the way.
Katie Higgins: we launch our YouTube channel. there you go But we could make all sorts of fun things. That sounds so fun. Like the old -fashioned that I've got to start soon. Yes. That's got to get started by about the first of November.
Katie Higgins: So... I love this. The old fashioned. I think it was in maybe episode two. Yes, we have talked about it. No, it's incredible. And going to Emily's house in Emily's kitchen. is you walk in, there's China. and there's and she but she makes it look so effortless and Because of that, okay, so in my, we you know, I've moved and I'm in a new house and we're renovating it and it's...
Katie Higgins: lovely it's it's I love my house. I love my new house. I love. my my husband loves my new house our new house it's been a really special place um and we have Our dining room has a significant area.
Katie Higgins: For. putting all the China things. And so I am now like, We're going to actually use this stuff. and i do and so like i do i literally i'll put wine in a teacup Sometimes.
Katie Higgins: i i always wait i'm always I use my crystal every night now. I know, but very much that was much encouraged by going to your house for our. Um.
Katie Higgins: either just when we would get together or for our democratic salons. Yeah. Because... It was like... Why don't I use this? Now... To be fair, at my old house, it was like.
Katie Higgins: but I would have to get it out from the, like, I'd have to pull it out of a box. Now it's all just out. You know what I mean? Like I can access it. as I would anything else. yeah And okay, I do have to tell you all a story about Michael.
Katie Higgins: Okay. Michael, he's my 15 year old with autism and he is, he is. a character. I have got to figure out how to start like. filming him or something because he wants to be a youtuber like as all teenagers do i think at some point they want to be a youtuber um But with Michael, you know, life is different for Michael. and so The fact that he is so freaking funny.
Katie Higgins: But... With when he doesn't know it I'm like, okay.
Katie Higgins: Because he is a performer. and so i'm like you know what so i'm thinking so please like understand that this is not me like wanting to exploit my child this is like how could i create like an actual career for my kid you know what i mean like um and it's something that he is interested in he is interested in he wants to pushing it ab ho absolutely not i in that in a lot of ways it's like okay i gotta calm this obsession a little bit and like but also at the same time he is really freaking funny but he's but he's funny when he doesn't know it yeah
Katie Higgins: Um, and not like, not that we're making fun of him, but like, he just doesn't know how funny he is just naturally like his autism. It can be horrible, but it also... His personality is just hysterical.
Katie Higgins: well so Um. We don't leave him alone very often at home. Like, even though he's 15, we usually only leave him at home with his sisters. We don't tend to just leave Michael, him alone.
Katie Higgins: Got it. Well, the other day. we went to something at the twin school which is you know 10 minutes away If that. eight. maybe six minutes away. And.
Katie Higgins: It was for the, oh, it was for the twins open house. And so it was one of those things, Stephen and I, the the twins really wanted us to be focused. and and participating and present. So they preferred, even though everyone at the school is so fantastic about their brother, they preferred, they knew I wouldn't be present and Stephen wouldn't be present if Michael was with us.
Katie Higgins: Um. So. we said okay bud We're going to leave you home. for this. Do you feel okay about it? And he said, okay, you're going to be here. He knows how far away we are. He knows how to contact us, all the things. So he felt okay with it.
Katie Higgins: Because he does not particularly like being left home alone. like That's not. something he loves. But in this situation, he was comfortable with it. We were all comfortable with it. We felt like it was a, we know our neighbors, like all of the good those good things.
Katie Higgins: When we got home. We walked in. And of course his sisters flip out and his father... God love him, was like, oh God, the mess.
Katie Higgins: Um. Michael had taken. Every single piece of China. And Crystal. and silver. and had set the MOST Elaborate table.
Katie Higgins: I mean... For, um... All of. his stuffies. Oh. That is lovely. Oh my God. I mean, I'm tearing up thinking about it. I mean, that is lovely. And this is one of those things that.
Katie Higgins: At one. point in my life I would have been I would have really like grieved that because he's my 15 year old son. Setting a tea party.
Katie Higgins: for his stuffies. but because i have worked really really hard to like grieve his diagnosis and just now be able like i have the capacity now to just love who he is I was like in my, I mean, and he is like, I'm talking arm movements and hosting all of his, all of his, his friends. All of it. All of it. And I was like.
Katie Higgins: This. was the great... I mean, it was he was having a full... blown party because no one was there to tell him. don't be weird or because you know his sisters are in a little bit of a phase where like They absolutely love their brother and they.
Katie Higgins: And they recognize his struggles are different than theirs. And then they are also 13 year old girls and don't be weird. right you know what i mean and let's just be honest autism is weird and I just, this boy, oh my word.
Katie Higgins: it was it was hysterical so Here's to all the China. And the crystal. And use it. And the silver. And let's use it. Yeah. Yeah. i love that there we go now he did once at one point put one of the china He does love a cup of tea. Michael does. Who doesn't? I mean, it is very good.
Katie Higgins: he took He took a sip of my tea though the other day. There was some bourbon in it. And I said. I don't know. Should I have something here? It was, I mean, he goes, he like spit it out. He was so upset. He was like, what was that? That's not like my tea. And I said, well, you weren't supposed to drink my tea. This was in the afternoon, by the way. So like, listen, a hot toddy.
Katie Higgins: Yeah, there's nothing wrong with it. So good. Keeps the doctors away. I love a hot toddy. I love it so Well, I can't even think. what happened to for me the last week.
Katie Higgins: I don't remember a thing. Kind of an uneventful... yeah which also cheers to that yeah so so much of my life has been of a bit full that i i'm here's cheers to the mundane cheers to the Cheers to the um the boring normal life like i'm so grateful for it because um,
Katie Higgins: That hasn't always been the case for me. And so i'm I'm here for it. I love it. I mean, I feel like there is stuff that happened. I just can't think of it. You know. It's like what you said last week. I can remember the word penultimate, but I cannot remember the word zipper. So who knows something massively life -changing may have happened in the last week. And I just don't remember.
Katie Higgins: Yeah. ah And I'm okay with that. Did y 'all do any... ah neighborhood stuff this week with national rhino we finally met our neighbors after living there for 14 years oh was that last tuesday It was Tuesday, yeah. oh like Our next door neighbors were having that. Like two days ago? Yeah.
Katie Higgins: Oh yeah, we did nothing. Yep. Yep. nope the twins have dance on tuesday um that is hard so we were just and also we live we live in a national night out type of place Thanks.
Katie Higgins: yeah you know I think. i mean I mean, this was the first time our neighbors had ever done it. Okay. I've never, I mean, outside of our next door neighbors, we've never really. Met. yeah and or hung out with our neighbors yeah Things are different these days, don't you think? I do. I think.
Katie Higgins: ah We are... in our Stretch. The youngers there's there's another mom or family. that is about our age.
Katie Higgins: right around the corner and I've met her for the first time. Okay. That's so fun. So yeah, so we have fun. I met neighbors. My mom's restaurants always do things for National Night Out, like over in the...
Katie Higgins: In the things, they always... um Speaking of moms... Julia. Is my mom here? She's early. mom She's early. But could you please let in Miss Lisa? Yes.
Katie Higgins: Um. but yeah it was really nice okay i made a classic cowboy cake the chocolate cinnamon situation where yeah there's a little bit of cinnamon in it But it's like, I think they most people call it.
Katie Higgins: There she is. ah Oh, that's Texas sheet cake that I'm thinking of. Yeah. But yes, we call it cowboy cake. Oh, oh in our family. Okay. But yeah. um so So good with the pecans. Delicious.
Katie Higgins: um I rarely make it because it makes a ton. and My children don't eat a ton. Okay, sure. I grew up in a household where if mom made a sheet cake. It would be gone by dinner, right? Like you have a slice when you got home from school and then you had a slice after dinner and then you would sneak another slice. right like it's gone on I took it to a party.
Katie Higgins: Okay. about there was several people that brought dessert so there was about half left when i brought it home and i looked at my children i said hey it's really good for breakfast so they've been having it for breakfast yum And it is actually, it is really good with a cup of coffee, but they don't drink coffee. Sure. Sure. Sure. Oh, that does sound delicious. I'm also thinking we should tell lit that on their winter menu, they should have a.
Katie Higgins: Classic. Cowboy cake, Texas sheet cake, chocolate martini. That would be good. that would be really good that would be good I spent a lot of time in the kitchen this week. Oh, okay.
Katie Higgins: It sounds i like it. I feel like I spent a lot of time in the kitchen this week, which is nice. Yeah. I made a big life choice for our family. Oh. um that i made the decision without checking with my husband first which those are my favorites sure um We've been.
Katie Higgins: on the road to do a full Master Bath Remodel. Okay. And Master Closet, like. Justin doesn't know about the master closet. It's all part of the same thing. I don't think he listens to this, so we'll be okay. Yeah. It's part of the same thing. It's in the same area. Yes. And I did reach out to you because you had a contractor that you really liked. Yes, we do love our contractor. So I have a few that I know I need to send out for bids. Yes. I need to finish designing it. And so it's been stressing me out.
Katie Higgins: Speaking of, I still have your title. It's laying in my floor so I can. Make sure I love it. We're going to revisit that in a second. Because you need it probably. I don't. well here's the deal what i decided i'm getting too overwhelmed um by the bathroom situation okay Because I know what I want and it's going to kill Justin when I get it bit out. And I'm trying to figure out how do I. Because I know.
Katie Higgins: what the materials will be. Yes. Yes. ah that That bit us in the ass a little bit. um You know? And my thing is, I want to do it right the first time. Yes.
Katie Higgins: in your kitchen you did right right you know so like you have to do the bathroom right right And I know that those are the investments that pay you on a house. Okay. um So what I decided was I'm going to finish the rest of the whole entire downstairs first. Okay. And so I have been picking out chandeliers. Oh my. Furniture and having just a grand old time. Oh, I cannot wait to just sit and look at all of the things you've picked out. There's going to be some new.
Katie Higgins: paint colors that You might have to come over. and Really? Oh, I'm so excited. Well, because we, during Harvey, had... some ceiling water damage. Oh, okay. And it was minute enough that it was like, it's fine. Yeah. Well, then every rain after that.
Katie Higgins: it would grow just a little bit touch more touch more and i'm like oh we actually have to get that fixed oh so in order to do that then we have to get the sheet rock repaired and then you got to paint this and if we're going to paint this We might as well.
Katie Higgins: you know, put in a new chandelier and if we're gonna put in a new chandelier we might as well get all the new switch plate covers that i wanted and You know how it goes Yes.
Katie Higgins: I do You know. I didn't realize how important. the switch plate covers were. Until... It's actually Steven. Who? insisted.
Katie Higgins: on certain switch plate covers. And. Now I'm like a whole new world has been unlocked. Yeah. So I really want the brass ones. Yes. I really would like the toggles.
Katie Higgins: Oh. You know, like the tiny little. Yes. The little knobby thing. Right. Those are darling. Where it looks like it's from like 1902. Yes. Um, so I started looking at those, which then it was like, oh, well, we need to kind of make some of these.
Katie Higgins: um switches like smaller okay i don't know how to say that oh i don't i don't like the where the face plate is it's maybe three wide but They need to make it. Too wide. Yeah. Oh, okay. Because they don't make it in a 3Y. Right. I see what you're saying.
Katie Higgins: I think he was just... Cap it. In that case. But then where would you put... whichever one that controls. Right. So maybe it's... a two and a one. I don't know but Interesting. trying Not an electrician.
Katie Higgins: yeah i know i gotta call we have a great electrician who will come over and give me a lot of time So I love him and he's fabulous. And he will hold my hand through the whole process. Okay. I love this. But then it was, well, I'm going to switch all the light switches.
Katie Higgins: Then I found all of the brass. Um. you know, plug them in. what do you oh really yeah and they have them with the usbc in between the regular plugins. Yeah. I do know i don't know the words for any of these things, but I know what you're talking about. that's what i Outlets. Outlets. Do they have it where the actual... Part is brass as well. Yes!
Katie Higgins: I will send you the link. So what we did was. So our house, our new house that we are renovating is. a log Exterior.
Katie Higgins: But we have. The logs inside as well as part on parts of the house. And then it is sheetrock. Like it's a normal house. It's just like. Instead of Hardy, we have...
Katie Higgins: blogs okay and then And then on some parts of the house, they are. the logs are what we see. Yeah. So Steven got these like matte black ones that I know it looks really nice. Very chic. I know. And then he was like, and then where it's.
Katie Higgins: painted or whatever, like will where it's painted. the white will do the white. And I was like, Oh, and I was like, Oh wait. we we're gonna mix up these things and now i'm like oh well. Now.
Katie Higgins: Our bedroom needs specific ones. This bathroom needs specific ones. I mean, like like I said, a whole new world. un Locked. Yes. because I did not know all of these options existed. Yes.
Katie Higgins: So I'm very excited for you. I know. So Justin, I think just thinks, cause I think I pitched it as all of the rooms are at 80 % completion. I need to take him to 100%. And so I'm sure he thinks.
Katie Higgins: He's going to save so much money. um But I think our listeners know. That's not always true. That's no not always true. Not at all. Not at all.
Katie Higgins: I'm going to start talking about Okay. Tomorrow, because I'm just letting, I'm just responding to this. May I do my... Petty Betty of the week right now. Absolutely. I've listed a handful of things on the Facebook marketplace.
Katie Higgins: Because I'm. Making some changes here at the at the boutique. Um. I have received no less than 135 ,000 is what it feels like. But I would not be surprised if there's 100. It was 88 this morning.
Katie Higgins: uh i interest of interest i would not be surprised if we're now over a hundred yeah Um. And I don't understand what I just was sent.
Katie Higgins: Like... I do have someone on the way to purchase this thing. He will be there in 20 minutes is what he's telling you. Well, that I got. What is this? He's sending you the screenshot saying he will be here at 3 .07.
Katie Higgins: Oh, 2 .48 p .m. He'll be here at 3 .07. yes Oh, okay. that's what he's saying great um I sold a treadmill once and that was enough for me. I, well, here's the thing. I think it was like 75 bucks. Like get it off my property. Yes. A big part of this is you come and pick this up. Okay. But here's the deal.
Katie Higgins: I listed three things. Okay? Four, actually. A bunch of slat wall hooks. let me just Let me just list them out for you in case you need them. If you're a retail person, maybe you do. A bunch of slot wall hooks.
Katie Higgins: For like 20 bucks. Come on, y 'all. If you have slot walls, you need these. um These. shelves that I hate. Or racks that I hate that we are going to. Not need.
Katie Higgins: because I want to do it differently. And... more shelves that I hate or racks that I hate. Okay. But they're functional. Okay. So while I hate them.
Katie Higgins: They are great and functional and you can get them at a... dollar price okay And they're also all in great condition. Nobody! But I'm going to tell you, it's the tool kit, the tool cabinet, rolling tool deal. It's a rolling tool chest with countertop. With a countertop.
Katie Higgins: Tsk. Who knew? This was... The hottest commodity in Richmond, Texas. Right now. I mean, even you wanted it. I was, I said, Hey, are you selling that? I'll buy it.
Katie Higgins: Well, if you, I mean. No, he's already on his way. Okay, yeah. And he can... and yet you will because here's the deal guys it's not like i'm giving people such a great deal You can go get this at Harbor Freight in your choice of color.
Katie Higgins: And... Now, I will say mine is in excellent condition because it has been in a boutique. Okay, so it has held tags. and glue. Or... is something.
Katie Higgins: So, like... It. has It is, it's an excellent condition. It is very gently, gently used. Gently, gently used. So. I get it. You're getting, you are getting it for like. you know, $150 less than you pay.
Katie Higgins: But like, is that worth it? I don't know. I don't... Steven, my husband, loves this stuff. He loves it. and He loves a marketplace find. And don't get me wrong. We have found some. incredible things because of him. But I am now finished with this. I hate it.
Katie Higgins: Also, I sold something on this. platform called Vinted. And don't get excited. I sold it for $12. Like, listen, I'm not making a lot of money here. But I... Yeah.
Katie Higgins: But I've got to get rid of some stuff, okay? We've got to get this boutique cleaned up. I will go into the energy of this in a minute when you're ready. Okay. I need to know. as Well, go finish your story. well I pushed the wrong - button.
Katie Higgins: for the shipping. So instead of just... printing a label here at my boutique. Where I can then attach it to a poly mailer and my... Awesome, awesome.
Katie Higgins: people are going to pick it up, I now have to go to some drop -off location. Because I hit the wrong button! That sucks. And Julia was like, Katie. I told you this is a whole thing!
Katie Higgins: That requires a lot of time. And I ignored her. As I do. When she tells me things I don't want to hear. But... Alas, she was correct.
Katie Higgins: Did she say told you so? No. Actually, no, she tells me told you so all the time. Don't you, Julia?
Katie Higgins: She's actually not listening to us. I know you're not listening. That was kind of the funny of it. um So anyway, so that's, listen, that's me. So the energy of it all, because I was telling mom. Okay. Yes.
Katie Higgins: You had energy work last week. I did. Okay. i probably need more. Um, it is, it has been a, it has been a week. um I shouldn't have said that. That was energy wise. I mean, cleaning out.
Katie Higgins: a room with your 12 year old is going to. That's going to be a lot. Oh yeah, that's not, um no. But. um So we are in autumn. going into winter.
Katie Higgins: And so this is the time. that you need to be shedding. All of this extra stuff. So this is actually the perfect time.
Katie Higgins: to be letting go of things and cleaning things out because we are in the autumn. Season. And then we move into winter where it is this hibernating and thinking and planning. Let me know when this resonates with you. I am all ready.
Katie Higgins: Right? Right. So you are exactly where you need to be. energetically To step in into your most. um divine self.
Katie Higgins: Because you are getting rid of all of these things. You're cleaning things out. Yes. You are preparing and laying all of this root work. for electric kittens and yes and i'm doing the same with uh with my house Yup!
Katie Higgins: No, I, okay. That's really interesting. And then I saw, I. Duh. Yes. mm -hmm Mhm. Yes. so interesting this is the time To start shedding all of that extra weight. Yes. And... So that the hibernation can be...
Katie Higgins: a peaceful time. It's peaceful. It's not supposed to be a lot of work. right I know a lot, I mean, for us, especially as moms.
Katie Higgins: the christmas season is a lot of work but it wasn't supposed to be it's not supposed to be historically right um so like one of the things i mom and i were planning to do is like we're gonna put up a ton of cookie dough for all the christmas baking okay now while we have the bandwidth ah To where it makes it easier on us come Christmas time, right? like Okay, I've said this before and I'm saying it again.
Katie Higgins: You and your mother. need to have some sort of class. for the Rest of us. that teaches us culture.
Katie Higgins: I don't even know how we would... Do that. Well, I learn something new every time I'm with you. what a I mean, heck, my drink is cultural. I suppose, but you could have gotten there eventually. Well, you would have told me about it, but it wasn't it wouldn't be nearly as fun as...
Katie Higgins: You know, you and I At the bar with Taylor at Lit saying, good well, my goodness, Taylor, the hardest part of the podcast is us deciding what we're going to drink. That's true. And then you coming up with.
Katie Higgins: Well... May I have a... Say it like you say it. Le le Blanc. May I have a lily blanc over ice? And then I learned that this is the introduction to your drinking. Drink.
Katie Higgins: Because... my contribution to that conversation was beer before liquor never been sicker liquor before beer you're in the clear and I... well number one i just don't stand by that statement ever you don't get sick though Okay, here's the deal. I think you can sit - You are - if you are power drinking beer and liquor before each other. Which is, which is, said and let's be clear, that's not what I was doing. They have a new cider.
Katie Higgins: at lit. for the season. Like a cider beer? Like a cider beer. Okay. A beer cider thing. And so I thought, well, that looks lovely, but I don't want to drink it first. And then have cocktails and be super sick.
Katie Higgins: It's one beer. But it's one beer and in a handful of cocktails. I mean every now and then now. I'll feel a little... Headachy in the morning? Sure. You're like my mom. Or I'll get that 3 a .m. wake up of like the hot. But I think that's also perimenopause. I think that's perimenopause.
Katie Higgins: Speaking of, I was going to tell you. Tell me, what is your latest? My perimenopause purchase of the week. Okay. So I think it was last week was the dry shampoo I was telling you about. Okay, yes. This week, um and I don't know if you have this issue. Okay. But I am having.
Katie Higgins: I'm having a walk. of sweating. Listen. mine But mine happens at night. Mine can happen at night. But it can also happen during the day. Okay.
Katie Higgins: And I mean, like, I haven't sweat like this since like. I was in middle school. it's like it's I have had it happen to me a handful of times during the day. We've been together at points when that happened. But my the bulk of it for me is at night. So, okay. Proceed. um i travel a lot yes you do When we travel, we have to be on carry on only. Okay. So I can't bring a lot of clothes. Yeah.
Katie Higgins: So I started looking into it and because Meta can read our minds. It really does. And I know people are freaked out by it, but I do like it when it delivers to me exactly what I need. I mean, there is something to that.
Katie Higgins: And also, I got nothing to hide. right Clearly, I'm here. So, I have ordered, and they they should arrive today in time for our trip, so I'm very excited. Oh, yes, we will have to discuss that. they look kind of cap sleeve Uh,
Katie Higgins: crop tops yeah in a sheer fabric okay but they are reinforced with special padding on the underarm. So you're - Clothes don't get ruined so your clothes don't get ruined And you can wear them. And because it's basically out of like a sheer fabric, you can wash them in your hotel sink.
Katie Higgins: and hang them up to dry over your shower right emily and i have done some traveling together and i'm gonna tell you
Katie Higgins: me whose luggage is so overfilled i have to wrap it with saran wrap it is very stressful y 'all yeah very very strong i mean the two of us traveling together is actually quite shocking um But we did well. We did. No, we did really well. You handled my eccentricities well. And i and you handled mine. Yes. said Yes, you did. You did.
Katie Higgins: Um. But man, she knows what she's doing. But I do like efficiency. And that I am not. And I'm gonna tell you as I get further into perimenopause, I'm less efficient. We were on a trip once.
Katie Higgins: And we had to sit down. we had to sit down to dinner And. it was It was chilly and overcast. So we have...
Katie Higgins: we We must have had trenches on. Multiple layers. Okay. We had a trench on. Because i also remember, we're hot. We had scarves. We had umbrellas. And maybe there was another layer in between trench and, um and, and.
Katie Higgins: whatever else the blouse or top we were wearing well and like there was like definitely so multiple scarves i feel like for like if it was cold or that we were shoving ice into a cross body -body purse so there was lots of things to To take off before you could sit down.
Katie Higgins: yeah for dinner All right. take my things off and hang them on the back of my chair and I sit down and Katie, she's basically finished her first course.
Katie Higgins: before I don't know what the hell she's been doing. She's got shit flying everywhere. Everywhere. and you know scarves are falling down umbrellas are falling she can't figure out where to hang her too many things her coat and i am beyond stressed and i'm just like she's like bring me on the inside i need shots Sit down, Mel. Yeah. She's like, shots, just lots of shots.
Katie Higgins: Because I really, I wanted my my champagne toast. Yes. Yes. Aye, aye. So, yeah, yeah. I i am in a... efficient you are efficient and i will say justin will tell you i'm an inefficient traveler. No! hu Not in the... Because he is even more efficient than me. I... can't Imagine.
Katie Higgins: But what he doesn't take into it into consideration, number one. um Oh, a side note. Yeah. Has anybody seen the guy on TikTok who is doing one thing a day to understand women more?
Katie Higgins: no so like one day he's a nurse and so one day he wore shapewear underneath his scrubs so and he was like this is hell um but what the last one was uh he went all day with no pockets and he goes easy and it cuts like he's not even to lunch yet he's like this is hell
Katie Higgins: yeah because and i think that's what justin views as inefficiency like everything has to go in a bag Okay. You know, because I can't put my. my phone in my pocket because women's pockets are not long enough are not long enough for a phone i cannot put my wallet in a pocket they are not big enough like nothing whereas men have that in their pockets they have a a deeper pocket their clothing is built for that
Katie Higgins: In both front and back pockets. Like, right? Like, they don't. is so interesting i had a customer on saturday ask me about a pair of pants. How deep are the pockets on the front? And I went,
Katie Higgins: Excuse me, what? now And mind now I understand. i I don't know if we've talked about this on the podcast. My mother. um disagrees with pockets in women's clothing.
Katie Higgins: Entirely Entirely as a whole Why? Full stop. What? purpose do they serve and i will use the example of when i was shopping for wedding dresses i had it narrowed down to two okay there's this gorgeous raw silk dupioni that i end up getting but the the um The runner up.
Katie Higgins: and anybody that got married around 2010 will probably remember it was a strapless with a full ball skirt okay and it had these great giant pockets in the skirt yes pocket and i stick i didn't have pockets in my dress but and i said listen this is fat i mean it was like the barbie dress like 1950s 60s barbie dress right and stuck my hands in my pockets. And I said, oh. This is fabulous. It has Okay. And my mother.
Katie Higgins: looked at me. And said, for God's sakes, what do you need pockets in a wedding dress for? Your great -grandmother would be rolling over in her grave. I am obsessed with your mother.
Katie Higgins: This great grandmother was a, um she worked in the wedding department of a department store. Okay. For many, many years. So she knew her stuff. Yes. And this she was this kind of seamstress.
Katie Higgins: wonderful woman my mother still has her fleischmann pins oh um that she uses to sew I love this. okay so um no and i said well like I could put a handkerchief in there. I could put lip gloss. Lip gloss. All sorts of things, right? Yeah. ah For God's sakes, no. You don't need any of that on your wedding day. And I said, well, a hanky and a lip gloss, like to reapply? Right. What do you need a hanky for? Well, you know, in case I cry. Why are you crying at your wedding day? Ah!
Katie Higgins: So. you know. If anybody wants to know why you don't ever really see me cry. ah It's just not. in us to do it publicly. I think I've maybe seen you cry once or twice. It's very rare. Yeah, that is. And it's not like true tears. I'll get a little misty. Nope. Yep. You do. And then you got to lock it back up. There you go. Okay. So, well so yes. Um, in an effort to be.
Katie Higgins: more efficient. They should arrive this afternoon. And hopefully I will have a full report. I'm so excited. to, to give you. Well, cause also here. sweatshirts here's the other thing i'm thinking Would they help for...
Katie Higgins: Maybe humans. that are in teenage years. that 10 to... Not smell the best.
Katie Higgins: at all so it it absorbs all of that so it saves the clothes so it saves the clothing i don't know on an odor standpoint but it would save the clothing it would save the clothing and that's what i'm looking like especially if i'm wearing a suit jacket when i'm yeah traveling with a blouse right because you're not a suit jacket you're not gonna um launder the same way yes exactly so that's really cool So I will give feedback.
Katie Higgins: ah Hopefully next week. I cannot wait to hear about this. ah Still. Yeah, I was going to say, where are we going, Emily? Unclear where we are going. um We are. First goal is to make it to Europe. Okay. We have now pivoted. Originally we we said, Oh, let's do Italy. And we are now becoming more and more flexible. Okay. We are coming up with an itinerary.
Katie Higgins: for um So we have one for Italy, but we now have one for London. Munich. Paris. and I'm forgetting one. Somewhere else in Europe. Okay. So we're staying flexible, but if we are unable to catch a flight, we are also open to New York City. Okay. Boston.
Katie Higgins: Or visiting family out in Portland, Oregon. Well, there you go. my my My rules are, and I told Justin, I said, listen, I am packing the children and myself tomorrow morning. It cannot be hotter than 75 degrees where we are going.
Katie Higgins: um Yeah, that I agree. Like just because of what we're packing, right? Like everybody will have a light jacket. For cold evenings and cold mornings. Okay. um We will be dressing for like a city.
Katie Higgins: urban kind of sightseeing okay So we cannot go somewhere that requires hiking shoes. Okay. Because you are limited to a carry -on. Right. we are How? You cannot fit hiking boots in a carry -on. Well, you can. oh We have done snow boots in a carry -on. We have packed wow for skiing. just in a carry -on.
Katie Higgins: I'm shocked. It's very stressful. and requires a lot. of thinking and I hate it. Yeah, that's so much thinking. But... You can do it. But I told him, cause he goes, why don't we just like go to Hawaii? And I was like, no, because you'll spend a thousand dollars getting us all outfitted. He goes, what do you mean?
Katie Higgins: uh Cause we'll need shorts, swimsuits, sandals. Like we're not packing any of those things. Oh, like if you did it on the fly. Yes. Like everything will happen tomorrow. Okay. Do not know. I love this. Okay. And. in case you were just now. tuning in to this justin is a captain for southwest which means they get to They fly non -rev.
Katie Higgins: So we pay a nominal fee and right um for our seats, but it also means if it's oversold. You're not getting on it yet. you don't eat if anything happens we're the first ones to get bumped right And... Because we're Southwest versus yeah Delta or United. Okay. They have. actual true deal partnerships with these with these ones okay so they get precedence over us over y 'all so You go to the airport.
Katie Higgins: you've got all your stuff with you, and you are ready to get on any plane. Yes. Wow! Yes. And we got to be back by Wednesday. So. Okay.
Katie Higgins: This is crazy. Y 'all have the longest fall break. I know. I'm really excited. I know. That's awesome. Mary and Maggie don't have any fall break and Michael has Friday and Monday off. Yeah. But I'll take it, because that's two days I don't have to wake up early. yeah So. oh and did i tell you this already that he uh Yeah, why do you have to be back so soon? well Because they still have like nine days off. Yes.
Katie Higgins: So he. does not like extended Like long trips. Okay. When we have a break like this. Okay. And he communicated to us. all of this however how it came out was Justin came to me.
Katie Higgins: Hey, um I don't know if this is the right time to tell you. but um We've been keeping a secret from you. Well. guess what it's always a good time to tell me when there's a secret um yeah uh what's going on he goes um this is justin this is justin telling me it's just me and justin at the house at the time okay so at school Ah!
Katie Higgins: I'm like... What the? okay i know he's not ever this cryptic and he goes um Owen. does not like traveling with us. And I said, newsflash, not a secret. I can tell by his face. He's 14. Yeah. You're like, I know. He doesn't like this. I know. That's so funny. Oh my gosh. And so Owen gets home. I'm going to say, Hey man, sit down. We got to talk.
Katie Higgins: And I said, hey, I hear that you're not crazy about traveling with us. over when we go to Europe. and He goes, I never said that. Smirk suggestion. Ah! Because I never said that.
Katie Higgins: And I said, well, it sounds like you have an issue with it. And that's OK. Can you talk us through it? Like, are you just embarrassed? Like, what is it? He goes, I just don't like being gone the entire break. I'd like some time at the house just to relax. Oh. done. And, you know, lot Your kids are great students. Yeah. And they're I can see that. Yeah.
Katie Higgins: So Justin is sitting there, you know. feeling the back wheels of that bus drive over them. And. He was just like, no, I love doing it. I just don't want to go for 10 days. Okay. So y 'all are returning on Wednesday. Wednesday could be Thursday worst case scenario. Which still gives y 'all, because y 'all still have Monday off, right? Yep.
Katie Higgins: No, we start. So tomorrow there's no school. Right. And then, but right. And then isn't it so Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. And then y 'all are off Monday too. No, we go back. that that oh oh oh so it's nine to nineteen i think is what it is that is Wow. Yeah.
Katie Higgins: Wow. Yeah. Well... Okay. So. Hmm. we will see we shall see got a lot of uh fun itineraries planned Okay. Not sure where we're going.
Katie Higgins: So when you return. We will get to hear all the fun things. Yes. I'll pop my head in and find out when we're recording. I love this. You'll hear all about it. I will be here. because my kids are still in school.
Katie Higgins: Um. So. I can't wait. I can't wait. We'll be back right in time. for early voting. ah Heck yeah! Shall we discuss any of that?
Katie Higgins: Well we could. We could. We could. We could give y 'all a week off. um I will say, and we kind of talked about this briefly. Our Petty Betty. Okay. Yep. Yep. The political texts.
Katie Higgins: Okay. See ya.
Katie Higgins: Welcome. to enter entry Meet my mother. The revolving door of characters. i absolutely I'm sending you a text, mom. So...
Katie Higgins: the amount of Political Texts And they're... Whore. Oh, I was. um Well, just just a sheer amount. Of them. Yes. in a day between surveys texts send me money um all of that Is.
Katie Higgins: Just... Exhausting. It's so many things. I... i I think I've finally unsubscribed from enough. of the text.
Katie Higgins: i So I don't. I don't unsubscribe. You you troll them, don't you? I received a poll the other day and it was one of those really good cathartic ones. Yeah. Like, um so I clicked on it and it was like, if you could.
Katie Higgins: uh describe Congress in one word. What would it be? And I was like, oh, this is great. I'm in a really pissy mood. I'm going to do this entire survey. And I did. And I felt better for it. So i don't I don't unsubscribe because it is great. okay and if you've never called by the way a senator or a congressman on an issue okay They are obligated to take your call. They are. Yes. It's kind of hysterical.
Katie Higgins: And if you're having a really shitty day. You can just unleash. All of your thoughts and feelings on that particular issue. They have to listen. And they have to listen to it. it Well, i sometimes I'm a little bit on the other side. So my sister.
Katie Higgins: was um my sister worked for on for Congress for 20 years. And so she was at one point one of those staffers that just answered those phones. Yeah.
Katie Higgins: And so part of me is like, oh, this poor staffer, but also. That's their job. Literally, that is their job. is to answer constituent phone calls. So. Okay, girly. So you're about to get it. Yeah, I i am so like...
Katie Higgins: Steven loves to watch, like, pawn stars on tv that one which is it's funny it's like a you know it's a reality show about the pawn shop and It's a lot of history. Is that the one in Vegas? Yes. Okay. Yes. I've seen that a few times. Like, oh, I have this cannonball. Yes. It, um.
Katie Higgins: Well the amount of ads oh I'm like, Stephen, can we please? Watch this on whatever streaming. platform. versus cable versus whatever. Yeah.
Katie Higgins: like and and like we don't even have cable i don't even know how we're getting this but we are And... Oh my god, the political commercials. And here's the deal. I do really think the Republicans must be freaking out.
Katie Higgins: Oh. Because... I'm not kidding you. I saw. a commercial the other day. Is, is Ken Paxton's wife, a Texas Senator? She is. Okay. Angela, I think is her name. Angela Paxton. Okay. I think she's in the Texas state government. I believe. Okay.
Katie Higgins: and they're getting a divorce they are getting divorced and she has been but i think she is still a republican here This was the commercial. Vote Republican.
Katie Higgins: because otherwise The Republicans. won't win. That was it. If you don't have anything nice to say. That was it.
Katie Higgins: Don't say nothing at all, Angela. Like, she just, it was like. Vote red. Because you live in Texas and that's what you do. Don't think for yourself. There was a. And. And I have no reasons to give you.
Katie Higgins: Why you should vote Republican, except for. You should. I literally was like. Did I just? Did I hallucinate that? yeah i don't know if i said i don't get it There was a fabulous um political ad though okay i think it was out of idaho Okay.
Katie Higgins: That I'm gonna have to go and find for you and send it to you. Okay, but essentially it's a guy running against whatever Republican is and currently in office. And I couldn't even tell you what office it is other than it's in Idaho.
Katie Higgins: he's a former He's a veteran. of the Persian Gulf War. Okay. And it's a whole thing. ah Remember like the corny. uh,
Katie Higgins: videos we would watch in elementary school of like you know basically like don't do drugs right sure sure sure this was um number one way to be a good representative for the United States of America, don't start a war. Yeah. And it was like, so simple.
Katie Higgins: Absolutely hysterical. I'm going to have to go and find it for you and send it and we'll have to post it or something. But. Uh... It was fabulous. It was fabulously done. And I think all of the comments, cause I saw it on TikTok and it was basically like.
Katie Higgins: I don't think America's ready for Gen X. uh, candidates because that that sense of humor okay of just wait gen x candidates So the one's just slightly older than us. Slightly older than us. Okay, Gen X. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Okay. Okay.
Katie Higgins: They are like kind of that forgotten generation that basically raised themselves. They're all the latchkey kids. okay They're all the ones. They're like the children of boomers. ah Direct, yes. Okay. And like. They.
Katie Higgins: really didn't have social media the way we did right right right like we were there right as facebook was starting right we were in college so when we started to lose that um I think Wall Street Journal did ah an article on it.
Katie Higgins: um The ability to do things without getting caught. Like, like TPing in house, for example, or like all of those reckless things that kids. used to do. Right. right They don't do anymore.
Katie Higgins: because everything In a second, that phone is out, being recorded, it and can be posted. Yes, yes. And so Gen X is this wonderful generation of people that don't give.
Katie Higgins: well and i they raise themselves on you know they went through it all yes yes they went through um being ignored they went through figuring it out on their own they went through all of these things and are tough
Katie Higgins: gritty hysterical individuals interesting and are leaning into that as candidates and i am here for it Okay. I feel like as elder millennials, we fit in that. We are close enough. Like we remember the Oregon Trail days in elementary school when you got to play Oregon Trail. Like I didn't get an iPhone till I was married.
Katie Higgins: Yeah. You know, because like we didn't have iPhones. Yep. i got married before pinterest did you though did you have a black berry. I did not I had a Nokia. oh But did you... i I did have a Palm Pilot, though. There it is.
Katie Higgins: There it is. A Palm Pilot. Listen. Still. misses his blackberry. Oh. I can see this with what I know of but about Tristan. Still miss, what was the other, the sidekick?
Katie Higgins: Wasn't that the Paris Hilton one? The sidekick. Motorola had the Razr. I feel like there was a sidekick. But the Palm Pilot, Anna Ruth had a Palm Pilot, I'm pretty sure. Who is Anna Ruth? Oh, you'd love her. I'm obsessed with this. She's a friend ah from college. Okay.
Katie Higgins: hot mess express lover to bits and pieces yeah but i think i think she it was either blackberry or a palm pilot but i thought it was a palm pie i i thought i was the Oh, I was hot shit with my Palm Pilot. yeah It had a stylus.
Katie Higgins: Oh, yeah? Oh, I just thought. I'm going to be the most. Organized person on the - playing it. Which I used to be, actually. I used to be. um I have got to mark this thing as sold because...
Katie Higgins: Oh my word. I will look. but the It's an aggressive run. Can I come tomorrow? Wish I had helped load it up today or I'd come get it today. Oh, my God. These people. hey Apparently, I need to run some sort of thing on on Order those from Market. How do I order some?
Katie Higgins: Some... Tool carts? This is... Wild. Yeah. yeah Go ahead and do that. And I'll go ahead and wrap things up over here. Okay. Well, then I will i will wait. Okay.
Katie Higgins: Do we have anything else? Our Court TV. Do we have any updates? i don't think i well actually julia gave me an update on patrick clancy today He and ah the doctor have announced that they are leaving Manhattan.
Katie Higgins: Good. I know. Because... yes That was from TMZ. TMZ usually has some... They have Scoop. They've got the... Yeah, I... I really, the more he doubles down.
Katie Higgins: Yeah. I, and especially after reading after um Reddington took a turn on the 29th, I now am really wondering. What the heck is going on? Yeah. The thing that surprised me. Okay. uh just moving along is house split.
Katie Higgins: public opinion is on the Cornell case. ah Are you... Really? yeah i did not know that actually julia did um I get all of my information from Julia apparently.
Katie Higgins: um She did show me the view, which is so liberal, usually. One of the women on The View. was was kind of Yeah. therere Yeah. um ah the political are the the The public opinion.
Katie Higgins: sounds to be a this is a because she's filed a civil suit this is a money grab she's changing her story Now, and I think what most women who have been victims of some sort of Sexual something. nothing they've never gotten anything done on the criminal side so try civil but also
Katie Higgins: We often... watch a law and order episode. There is that amount of shame and maybe I deserved it. Maybe if I just in kind, maybe like, it'll just all go away. Okay. And then you realize through therapy or introspection or whatever else. No.
Katie Higgins: This was a bad and wrong thing. And they are comparing her to Julia. What's that? What's that woman's name?
