Introduction and Apology

00:00:00
Speaker
Hail and well met, fellow travelers. It's, uh, it's me and Blaze, your number one pally pal. The dwarven boy on the show. The good, little good, little good boy. Uh...
00:00:12
Speaker
Sorry, wanted to stop and then just say thank you so much for listening and wanted to apologize. We've been remastering these episodes and this one specifically, there's not too, too much we can actually do with. We had some failure in hardware while recording and well, my audio specifically about halfway through gets a little wonky. For that, I am sorry, but hang in there. It only lasts this episode and again, thank you so much for checking out the show.

Setting the Scene: Wild Hill

00:00:46
Speaker
previously on the higher swords. Wild Hill is about what I expected it to be. Old veterans looking for some way to make a coin just to get another meal on the table, or outcasts that haven't had much in the way of an opportunity in their life at all. It seems a pretty simple life. One I don't mind too much for now, as long as I can just keep my head down and stay out of the way.
00:01:12
Speaker
These new friends are gonna make that a bit challenging, I reckon, though. One day here, and I'm already having to stick my neck out for this sorcerer.

Meet The Hired Swords

00:01:20
Speaker
I thought magics were supposed to make you stronger.
00:01:45
Speaker
You are listening to The Hired Swords, a Dungeons and Dragons podcast where we don't play Dungeons and Dragons. Dungeons and Dragons plays us.

Battle Begins: Strength Saves

00:02:05
Speaker
Real quick, uh, real quick, uh, Krigs, could you please make a, um,
00:02:13
Speaker
Strength saving throw for me. Sure. Davin, I need you to make a strength saving throw as well. Okay. That's 20. Yeah, you are not prone. I forgot about the saving throw on that. 15 minus one, that makes it a 14.
00:02:31
Speaker
That is what you needed, 14. So you were also not prone. Cool. Standing bullets. That takes us to Joxer's turn. Oh, man. So if I got right here, would I have advantage if they're facing us and you're trying to flank both of them?
00:02:55
Speaker
Yeah, so I'm gonna actually because I I know that craigs is You know well to do I'm gonna I'm gonna go for this this this one just call me a beefy boy. It's fine
00:03:07
Speaker
You know, we saw him take that acorn to the head and you're like, he's tough. Yeah, he's tough. He took that acorn like a champ. Yeah. I didn't say he wasn't a moody champ. He's just a champ. All right. Yeah. So we're going to take advantage on this one and hope that this isn't awful because my roles have been so good.
00:03:37
Speaker
You're attacking the one going after Daven. Yes, I'm going for the one for Daven. And then, so I did 18. Does that hit? Yes, definitely. All right, so then that's seven. It's in damage. And then I'm going to use a key to do a flurry of blows and then do two attacks. Sorry. I'll just do advantage. You can see both.
00:04:09
Speaker
Cool. 10 and 13, do either of those hit? I don't think the 13 hits. No, you're going for 14, so no, that does not hit. All right, so my fists just kind of whiff around it.
00:04:25
Speaker
Yeah, big target. So that first hit bam and the second second two punches as it kind of rears back in response to that first one that you just catch air as it kind of rears up.

Strategic Moves and Attacks

00:04:40
Speaker
Anything else? You know, I don't know. That's it. OK, so the this
00:04:51
Speaker
The alpha elk then gets a turn. It's going to come down to the middle of the meadow and do an active check to assess the area looking for enemies.
00:05:14
Speaker
It has seen the two that its friends there have attacked, but it is now trying to see if there's anything else. So here we go. Yes, so now it successfully sees Gwendolyn in the grass now, and it is going to run that direction towards Wolf Gwendolyn and make a...
00:05:42
Speaker
Oh, it can't do any actions because it uses action to do the active perception. So, but it's right there in your grill. That takes us to Gwendolyn's turn. Oh, no. As it's coming towards me, I'm going to leap up in the air and try to see if I can bite down on its little hump behind its back, behind its head, head back. Cool.
00:06:08
Speaker
Mika it's a this thing is is probably At the back eight feet tall Seven or eight feet tall. It's it's massive so I would say make a Dexterity check or acrobatics check as you as the wolf with the wolf's numbers to try to get up there and make your attack and
00:06:39
Speaker
There it is. Oh, easy, easy, easy, easy. So go ahead and make that attack targeted attack right where you wanted it. Done jumped on that guy's back. Did it? Yes. Oh, that's a hit too. Nice roll. 21 on that one. It was a 21 to jump and a 21 to hit. I am loving the item.
00:07:05
Speaker
Two D, four, loop. And. That was weird. Yep. Three damage. Three damage. And if the target is a creature, it must succeed DC 11. Strength saving throw. OK. Don't you get a bonus to that, too? It doesn't read as a bonus. Twenty seven.
00:07:34
Speaker
I guess he saves. He's still standing. He's very tall and strong boy, so... We're all about to die. Big strong. We'll see you at the big beefier boy and scene. Yeah, we're going to have a nice beefy boy. We're going to have a beef off. That takes us to... Is that your whole turn, Gwen? Is there anything else you want to do? Yes. I'm just staying on. All right, Krigs.
00:08:06
Speaker
all right i'm still standing and having just seen joxer attack
00:08:14
Speaker
the one elk right next to Davin, and having seen Davin take a pretty beefy hit, I am going to place myself directly in between these two elks, the one that attacked me and the one that attacked Davin, and I am going to take a single-handed swing with my war hammer at that elk.
00:08:41
Speaker
Okay. Swing it. Swing away, Jack. Don't you come back now. Eighteen. No more, no more, no more. That hits. All right. And I do 11 damage. Awesome. Well, technically, does that also add to with my dueling?
00:09:05
Speaker
Since I'm only doing a one handed attack and only have one weapon. Yes. So I would be. Yeah. Thirteen. Thirteen. Yeah.
00:09:14
Speaker
All right, cool. So yeah, you hit this guy and you run up, you raise that shield, you swing that, swing your hammer down behind that shield and just whack, whack right on top of him. And his antler, you hear like a crunch as you smack him on the head. A bad deer, bad. Nachio. Yeah.
00:09:39
Speaker
All right. Anything else you can or would like to do? What's the condition it's currently in? Was it damaged? It is. Yeah, it's pretty hurt. All right. Doesn't look quite on its deathbed yet, but it's bloodied, definitely. All right. I am going to.
00:10:01
Speaker
Take another attack at that same one. I'm going to spin kind of not carelessly, but take a backhanded swing with one hand on the war hammer coming back down after my first blow hit him on the head. Great.

Elks Counterattack

00:10:17
Speaker
That is a 18. All right. That hits for sure. It's five bludgeoning damage. Plus two. Five bludgeoning. Seven.
00:10:31
Speaker
Seven total so seven total damage. Yeah
00:10:37
Speaker
OK, so, yeah, your second blow catches him under the chin and just and it's bleeding from its poor little elk nose and eyes as you feel good, really harmed it very badly. You've heard it pretty badly. It's now the giant elks turns the way that never got a turn. They are now
00:11:03
Speaker
Wait, did it not take it didn't put you in this list here? Sorry. What was your mind? What was your? You would have been okay. Go now and I'll put you in at eleven. Sorry. Yeah, I'll put you in. It's OK. We'll put you in. You go now and then we'll put you in order from now on. That's right. How big like from what we're looking at here with the tree line across the way, how far of the distance is it to our left before it hits tree line again?
00:11:33
Speaker
how far to the left before it's tree line again. You could keep going. It's about... Actually, let me do this. About 10... If you go 70, 80 feet from where you're at now, towards the left side of the map, you'll be in the trees. And if you go to the right side, about 20 feet, you'll be in the trees. And behind you is like 10 feet, you'll be in the trees.
00:12:02
Speaker
Got it. I am going to heal myself because I'm almost dead. Yeah. So you watch now as he like stretches his arms out and his eyes turn just pure white and like whiteness comes over his hands as well. And as he clutches the fists, you see that like energy flow through the rest of his body and the wounds that he had gotten heal up as a cast cure wounds at third level. OK. Nice. Give yourself how much?
00:12:28
Speaker
22 healing for myself. What? No way. You just almost maxed yourself back out. I feel less bad for wrecking you like that now.
00:12:45
Speaker
I feel good stuff for destroying. And yeah. And then I cower with my bonus. Yeah. Oh, it's your bonus. Actually, you. I go full cower. All right. So the giant elks are back. It's back to their turn now and.
00:13:04
Speaker
The one near Davin is going to the threat, the one that hit it last. So it's going against Kriegs. So it's going to roll an attack against Kriegs now.
00:13:20
Speaker
And that is an eight to hit. Look at that. I had a good one. No, not hit. I had one good round. The other one's going to go against Krigs as well with a ram attack with its horns. This one is a 22 to hit. And that hits. So that's 2d6 plus four damage.
00:13:44
Speaker
And we're back. Nine damage against you, Krigs, my friend. All right.
00:13:52
Speaker
Yeah. So these two both simultaneously lower their antlers and just swing their heads at you. And one of them you're able to lift the shield to block, but the one behind you catches you from that side and you catch, you get hit there. Now we're back to Joxer. Oh no, this guy here up north, he's on guard, full guard mode. So he's standing there doing his job. Joxer, your turn.
00:14:21
Speaker
I'm gonna see the one that's already fairly damaged and I'm gonna continue taking some effort into that direction. Okay. And that will be advantage. Did I hit anything? Okay, thank God. Advantage. I apparently only do four fantastic piercing damage. Okay.
00:14:52
Speaker
All right, you hit him for four damage. Is that enough? It does not kill him. All right. So I'm going to expend another key and I'm going to try to hit him with my fists a couple of times. OK. Or at least maybe the hilt of the sword just, you know, just. Yeah, sure, sure. Feels nice. Feels cooler. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we'll do one normal roll and then one normal roll.
00:15:20
Speaker
Nice. Second one, oh, yeah, is a crit crit. So yeah. So second crit. Yeah. Twenty six. So so the twenty six, which is the natural 20. So that does a total of eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve damage. Yeah.
00:15:37
Speaker
Okay, so you get the butt of that sword after you've sliced him once, and you just slam the butt into that sword into the open wound that you'd already made, and you rip it open the rest of the way, and out comes this jugular, this creature, and it falls to the ground, dead,

Regroup and Regain Advantage

00:15:59
Speaker
right there next to you. So we have one dead elk laying on the ground.
00:16:07
Speaker
Is that your whole turn, Joxer? That sure is. All right. The alpha elk is next. The alpha elk is going to make a charge attack against or not a charge. Actually. You are on its back.
00:16:24
Speaker
Grapping for dear life. Yeah, it's gonna try to shake you free. So we're gonna make contested strength checks to try to shake you off of it. This is gonna be in place of a bonus action or movement or anything for this elk here. Roll to 28 for strength. Well then, that's gonna be rough. How do I do this for wild shape then? Would that just go against my armor class?
00:16:51
Speaker
No, you would roll a strength saving throw for the wolf. Okay, okay, okay. Using the physical attributes you use the shape you're in. Okay. The shape of you. Plus the shape of me. My bad. There would be against a 12.
00:17:13
Speaker
OK, so you you do fall off of the the elk. You do land on your feet being a spry, woven creature. But he is able to make this elk is able to make a ram attack as it drives its antlers down and tries to pin you against the ground with them. The attack roll is a twenty five. I am no longer a wolf. It does 2d6 plus four damage.
00:17:43
Speaker
Oh, 13 damage. Yep. Are you still a wolf? No, I'm not. I had 11 hit points. OK. All right. So you're so you lose. You take the remainder, right, when you come out of wild shape. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. So you take two damage after coming out of wild shape. So.
00:18:05
Speaker
The elk puts its antlers down into you and pins you against the ground and just rattles its antlers and just shakes you up real bad and pierces through your wolf skin. You lose your wolf form as it raises its antlers back up and this huge majestic beast, you can almost see a glitter-like sparkle kind of rattle through its antlers as it lifts its head up.
00:18:32
Speaker
Now, for the truth, they ask you if when you change, if all of your stuff like sucks into your new form or if you like let it all go. So right now, are you fully clothed? Are you naked right now? Yeah, right. I'm I guess I'd be naked. Well, you can say that all of your stuff goes with you, so it's not like disappeared.
00:18:59
Speaker
I just, my whooping comes off. I'm completely naked and I'm just trying to find all my clothes because I'm just like, darn it. Who's that? I hate when this happens. That sounds like a roll to me. Like a what? Chaos roll. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, that's a good idea. It's a good idea. It is your turn, Gwendolyn. Well.
00:19:29
Speaker
I am going to. Really funny if I cast animal friendship. But no, I'm not going to do that. I am going to. Run away. My belongings disengage. Yeah. OK.
00:19:56
Speaker
So as part of your movement, you reach down and grab all your stuff, use your action to disengage. Yes. So you can run. Run away! Look at the bass. Half naked, just going. Oh my gosh, so embarrassing. All right, so is that your whole turn? Yes. All right, Krigs, we're up to you now. I think technically it would be... If I get me again. Never.
00:20:23
Speaker
Oh, are you are you higher? I just had eleven. He's because he came in as eleven point eight. I didn't see what that's why. That's why he beats me. You go ahead. No, I'm not one point and I had an initiative of like two. Oh, really? It's weird. It showed up in Roll 20 is like eleven point eight. So I don't know why. So so what it is is like whenever you press like the next button, it adds 10 to their like roll. It's really awkward. Yeah, it is. I don't understand that. OK. Well, Davin, it's your turn. So.
00:20:54
Speaker
OK, I am going to move back right at the tree line and so that there's plenty of things between me and these elk. And then I'm going to before disappearing behind the trees, I'm going to cast a chaos bolt. So you guys watch as he like forms this energy and it's like electric, but then it's ice and then it's fire and it's dripping wet and you're just going to throw it forward at the giant elk. But I'm going to use a sorcery points to twin it and hit the guy behind him as well.
00:21:22
Speaker
Okay, so at the alpha elk and the giant elk. Yes. Great. Giant, the alpha, and then the one behind him along the tree line. Okay, perfect. And I'm doing this at second level, so the first one is a 21 to hit. It does. You want me to roll damage first or roll the other hit first? Go ahead and roll the other hit. Okay. Do damage together. And the one behind him is a 12 to hit. That will not hit him.
00:21:51
Speaker
OK, so the first one. Is going to be. Well, then I got to figure out where this is. This is a weird ability. Yeah, it's it's unique. I like it. I haven't played with a sorcerer before, so this is fun. So it's 2d8 1d6. So 10 plus. So it's 16 damage and the damage type is fire. It changes depending on what I will.
00:22:27
Speaker
All right. So, yeah, this bolt erupts and it's all these different elements. And when one when it hits the when it hits this elk, it erupts into flame all around him. And it you can now suddenly smell burnt hair, burnt fur, as it did some significant damage to this guy. Anything else you need to do this turn?
00:22:37
Speaker
So it does fire damage to him,

Divine Smite and Tactical Struggles

00:22:51
Speaker
or 16 points of damage.
00:22:51
Speaker
I use the rest of my movement to move behind the tree line so I can't be charged it. Got it. Okay. Okay, Krigs.
00:22:58
Speaker
All right. Boy next to us here hasn't been touched at all, has he? That's correct. Okay. I'm going to swing my hammer at him for a single hand attack. All right. So swinging your hammer at the other elk that was on the other side of you. Go ahead.
00:23:28
Speaker
23 will hit. Noise. Noise. The march is going to be... Ooh, it's not bad. 12. Cool.
00:23:42
Speaker
All right, so 12 damage to him. You swing that hammer and you smack it right in the right above. It's one of its legs and you hear a crack as you feel like probably some ribs or something cracked inside its chest. You got a pretty solid thump onto its side there. Anything else this turn for you? Yeah, hold on.
00:24:09
Speaker
So that first hit I did, I'm going to do Divine Smite at level two. Perfect. Okay. How much more damage do you do? Three d8. Three d8. One, two, three. I do. Basically what will happen is
00:24:33
Speaker
I have a cloth binding around my weapon hand, my right hand. It is going to ignite and fall off my hand. And as I hit the belt with the first hit, it will have just radiant light fly through the hammer directly into it for an extra 14 damage.
00:24:54
Speaker
Nice. So his hand starts to glow. The glow goes through the hammer. And when it hits, it kind of erupts from the hammer and is absorbed inside this creature. And you can see the creature kind of convulsing as it stands there as this radiant energy kind of bolts through the inside of its body. And that is, it does that extra damage.
00:25:22
Speaker
And this thing is now bloodied. I mean, it's pretty heavily damaged after that, for sure. And with a raging scream, I'm going to bring my hammer back down one more time across its body. One handed. All right. Make an attack roll for that one.
00:25:42
Speaker
12 so this time you swing down at it and it it actually kind of stumbles forward and as it stumbles and ducks its head down you just glance off one of its antlers and it doesn't do any damage to it. Joxer that takes us to you I believe.
00:25:59
Speaker
seeing the, you know, the creature in pain, I clearly have to finish it off. Of course. So, we will just try to do this. Oh, actually, I should probably, I'm gonna move so I'm at advantage.
00:26:20
Speaker
So, I'll move a little bit off, so I'll probably like 10 feet, 20 feet, 15, off so that I can kind of get an angle and then I'll make sure I get advantage on that one and then we'll roll this at an edge. So, you dive, duck, dip, dive and dodge around the side of it and
00:26:40
Speaker
and do a terrible job. I kind of got distracted by the flowers again. It was too much.
00:26:52
Speaker
Big flowers. The 11 is not enough to do it. Would you roll a five and a four? Yeah. Unfortunately, you aren't able to do it as you do catch a glimpse of one of those white flowers down there. The shape is just so gorgeous. It's hard to take your eyes off of it and therefore your punches or your swings with your sword just miss.
00:27:21
Speaker
You know, I bet that would taste great in a brew. Yeah, that's what you're thinking for sure. All right, is that your whole turn? Are you gonna do any more? Yeah, that I can't really do. Yeah, no, that's without a real hit. I can't do too much. Okay. Gosh, this is being so weird the way. That takes us to... I think that should take us to the giant elk. Yeah.
00:27:51
Speaker
I'm sorry, this turn order thing is being weird. It's just doubled up jocks are now he's in here twice. So I'm like, I don't know what I'm supposed to do here. But uh, alright, so the the giant elk. This one at the top here.
00:28:09
Speaker
Actually, I'm gonna do this, the one down here near you guys. The one that you've been attacking down to where you guys entered this, down near where you guys entered this meadow here, this field. He's going to go ahead and make his charge attack or his ram attack against Joxer because Joxer was the last one to try to hit him. Even though he was unsuccessful, that is a 25 to hit. Definitely hit. Good Lord. Yeah, it does.
00:28:39
Speaker
I know, right? That's 11 damage against Joxer. 11 damage there and so it just rears back its big giant antlers and swings its head around and one of those antlers catches you and slices you open real good or real bad depending on how you want to look at it.
00:29:04
Speaker
All right, so that takes us to, that is the great alpha elk's turn. So the alpha elk is going to charge. Wait, it has to go, actually, it can't charge, I don't think. Not quite that far away. It has to do 20 feet, so it can't charge, but it's going to approach, gently Krigs, and then make a ram attack. Yay! Mosey's on over.
00:29:31
Speaker
Mosey's on over to make a ram attack. Oh my god. It is unsuccessful. So it swings its giant antlers down at Krigs and the nine is not enough to ram Krigs. I'm small enough to slip through the horn. Yeah, I was about to say.
00:29:55
Speaker
It might almost hit, you know, the other one. All right. So that's all he can do. So we're at Jocks or we're at Gwendolyn now. Gwendolyn collects herself and she's ready to play. All right. She's going to cast Fairy Fire in this area. So in this box. OK.
00:30:20
Speaker
And I already posted very fire in there. Basically any creature in the area within the spell for duration. Um, basically people are going to have advantage on attack rolls against these creatures. Okay. And I'm also, as a bonus action, I'm going to do my spirit totem and I'm going to cast a bear spirit. Okay.
00:30:48
Speaker
should be. All right. So does that throw a bear down there to fight? Is that what happens? It's going to throw a ghostly bear. The bear spirit grants you and your allies its might and endurance. Each creature of your choice in the aura gives temporary hit points, so everyone would get 10 hit points, temporary. And in addition, all the allies gain advantage on strength checks and saving throws while in the space.
00:31:16
Speaker
Okay, so I'm going to mark that area with a shape here. Okay, tell me where it was again. We're going to put it probably right here. It's going to be this. Let's do what's the size of it. It is 30 foot radius. So it's going to be you said down here like that.
00:31:42
Speaker
So it's around the elk, Krigs, Joxer, a touching Daven and the alpha elk. But it only helps your friends, is that correct? Yes. And then Fairy Fire. And then Fairy Fire. Oops. I want to make Fairy Fire green. Yeah. Fairy Fire is going to be this one. There we go. Okay, now is Fairy Fire attached to your allies or no?
00:32:11
Speaker
Meaning are our attacks against your allies also with advantage or no? No, it's just creatures. It seems like oh, yeah Yeah, you're right. Okay any creature in the area when the spell is cast It's a dexterity saving throw So we got to do deck saves for these two guys as well so his dexterity saving throw is a The main the regular elk rolls a 17
00:32:41
Speaker
Uh, the alpha elk, he rolls a 16. No. Oh, bummer. Dang it.
00:32:59
Speaker
So they don't get any fairy fire. No. Right? It doesn't do anything. Correct. OK. I'll take the square off the map then. But we still do have the bear totem. Yes. So perfect. So the bear totem. And if you'll do me a favor, and when it's their turn, remind those guys what that does for them. Sure thing. Yeah, thank you. I do have it here, though. You posted it, so I can see it grants you
00:33:27
Speaker
Yeah, it's different hit points. Oh, sick. Yeah, it is. OK, so that's going to give us that's going to be your whole turn then. Yes. OK, supporting like a champ. It's Daven's turn. All right. I'm going to do the same thing again and see if I can maybe hit both of these guys. I'm going to try and go for the alpha elk and I'm going to attack it with a second level chaos bolt. OK, great.
00:33:58
Speaker
Are you twinning again? No, I'm just going to hit just him. So it's a 22 to hit. Okay. That hits for sure. So it's going to be 2d8 and then 2d6 for the second level.
00:34:11
Speaker
Um, so 13 damage and that's poison damage. Oh, minus. So 13 damage. Um, this, uh, this bolt comes out of Devin and Devin's hands and it's, it's, as it's coming out, it's just taking multiple forms when it finally, when it does hit this elk, it just kind of pours over him at this gaseous poison vapor. And this, this elk starts to kind of wheeze.
00:34:39
Speaker
Oh, like that as it takes the damage from this poison.

Shifting Battle Momentum

00:34:46
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. So now... Oh, wait. I'm supposed to have a giant... Oh, no, that was the fairy fire. Never mind. Yeah, it didn't work. Yeah. Do what? Does that poison it? It's seven? No, it's poison damage, but it's not poisoned. It doesn't poison the creature. Okay. All right. So is that all your whole turn?
00:35:08
Speaker
That's all I can do, yes. All right then, that takes us to Krigs. Krigs Golder. Okay, so the Alpha is pretty solid. The Giant is not that great. Yeah, the Giant Elk is really bad shape. The Alpha looks like it could go several more toe to toe with you guys for a little while still. Okay, right.
00:35:34
Speaker
Uh, so what I'm going to do is think about it. That's what I'm going to do. Yeah. Sorry. So I'm going to go ahead and cast as a bonus action thunderous smite. Tasty.
00:36:04
Speaker
that is going to have the first hit of my melee weapon during the spell duration will ring with thunder and 300 feet will be able to hear it and it'll take 2d6 thunder damage. Additionally, if the target is a creature, it must succeed on a strength saving throw or be pushed 10 feet away from you and knocked prone. And with that,
00:36:30
Speaker
palm of my weapon hand glows and the radiant light wraps around the weapon and I'm gonna swing my war hammer one handed at the great alpha elk. Do it. Dare you. Get it. I dare you. As of 19. Wow. Aw. You needed 18. For real? You hit him. Yeah, you got him. Sweet. I was gonna say, if 19 doesn't hit Jeez, this thing is strong. That's a hit.
00:37:01
Speaker
All right, so I did eight damage with my normal attack, and with my thunderous, I do an extra 2d6. Okay. Which is five, and it needs to do a strength saving throw, which it probably will. Okay, strength saving throw. Strength save is an 18.
00:37:29
Speaker
And what does it have to be to my strength? It has to be your spell save DC. Yeah, sure it did. That's 13. I know that's the only.
00:37:43
Speaker
When you hit it, this giant crack of thunder just erupts in this place and you can see the elk all look up to the sky and look around. The great alpha elk takes the damage from your initial hit and the thunder as well and it rattles it pretty badly. They've all been spooked a great deal by this big crash of thunder. Is that your whole turn?
00:38:12
Speaker
No, I have an extra attack as my hammer swung down and made this thunderous roar against the alpha elk I Kind of extend my left arm with the shield and turn back and behind me. I'm gonna swing at the very bloodied Great giant elk there with one-handed hammer Make that attack roll for me. That's the M team the alpha here
00:38:42
Speaker
And the idea is eight damage. Eight damage, all right. So he, you turn and you swing and you catch him in the back and you hear a big crunch and it seems like you've broken his back. And its hind legs kind of buckle down like it's trying to stand and try to catch its balance. You've done some serious damage. It's not dead, standing there still.
00:39:12
Speaker
It is suffering. It's in bad shape. I'm a monster. I'm a monster. So that takes us. Is that your whole turn then? That's everything now? Yeah, that'll be my turn.
00:39:25
Speaker
Have you done all the evil you're going to do today? No, I'm just kidding. So that takes us back to the elk's turns. And that boom starts to fade out after that thunder rang out across the area. And that sent this main elk, this not main elk, the elk that was standing guard of the herd, he takes off and bolts into the woods after hearing that sound of that
00:39:55
Speaker
Of that that Thunder it spooks him and he turns and runs The other elk in a panic frenzy turns back to you as best it can and Just swings its antlers down at you in a panicked attack Trying to trying to get free so it can run as well but it hits you or it rolls a
00:40:21
Speaker
Tend to hit. She don't. Which is not going to do it. Not going to do it. So he's he's just in panic, flailing his antlers about trying to catch you and kill you and is unsuccessful. That's back to Joxer now. He Joxer is going to come back around and hopefully put it out of its sad, sad misery after moving one step closer to the the giant elk.
00:40:49
Speaker
All right, so we're gonna... Yeah, 19. All right. All right. So nine piercing damage. Just swings... All right.
00:41:07
Speaker
So you swing that rapier out and you slice it across its throat and it starts to gurgle and its back legs do fall down finally. But it's sitting up on its front legs looking up at you with its neck kind of hanging open, bleeding, and it has one hit point, man.
00:41:37
Speaker
And I'm not kidding that's legit what's happened here I'm just I'm just gonna look at it in pity in and I will use a key point just so I can use my melee attacks to To you know, I'll do one I'll try to separate this a little bit. We'll do one sure
00:42:01
Speaker
Uh-huh. Does it hit? I can't tell. Oh, what is that? 16? Yeah, all right. 16 hits, yeah. All right, so I look at it and then I just kind of like just kind of hold its mouth and put it out of its misery just like it's okay. Just be quiet. It's okay.
00:42:20
Speaker
Yeah, and its head suddenly goes limp in your hands and you lay its head down on its antlers and it kind of just kind of falls over like that and stops breathing completely and it's finally expired. I wanted to go over there and just punch it to get rid of the one-hit point, but I realized I have a negative one strength, which means that I would do literally zero damage to it.

Victory and Reflection

00:42:46
Speaker
And I immediately, in anger, just kind of clap.
00:42:50
Speaker
Backhand the the the the giant elk for super 24 hits. Yeah, and it's a five damage. Yeah, just smack its ass. So yeah
00:43:06
Speaker
So you don't even yeah, you don't even like look at it, you just do the whole like, Bruce Lee, like lift your arm up behind you and smack it. And it yelps as you smack it in the backside there. That is it is now its turn.
00:43:25
Speaker
and it's going to lash out at Krigs. Krigs has really done a lot of damage here, so it's going to lash out at Krigs with an attack here, a ram, the antlers, and
00:43:45
Speaker
It rolls a nine and does not hit. Just like cower in between the two antlers that hit the ground. The two antlers. The people that stand at the window of the falling house wall. Yeah, yeah, yeah, totally. Those two antlers slam down in the ground. We're talking like four or five feet of antler on each side of this thing's head. Just slams down in the ground around you.
00:44:11
Speaker
As if you just barely escape its attack. And now it is going to... It's going to risk it and go ahead and try to run away. And it gets just right to the tree line. You guys both get to make attacks of opportunity though.
00:44:36
Speaker
Yeah. So, oh man, I wish I had taken a different feat. Okay. So Sentinel. Yeah. So dumb. It's the most ridiculous. Okay. So it's just a, um, just regular attack. Yeah. Regular melee attack. Both of you get to do one 13 13 won't hit. Oh, wow.
00:45:05
Speaker
Oh my gosh. Natural one. The natural one also does not hit. Oh, really? Yeah. So no. Darn. Oh, really? I really want to say campaign one time where it does hit just to throw it off. Wait, what? This thing has a negative one armor class.
00:45:32
Speaker
Yeah, so it makes it to the tree line after attacking you. Now we're at Gwendolyn's turn. I'm going to do, I want to move. Okay. Closer. Moving up closer. Yes. And I'm going to use my crossbow, see if I can catch it. A crossbow attack with a 10 does not hit, unfortunately.
00:46:02
Speaker
Um, and I can move my opponent, my totem, my spirit. I can move it to where it's closer. Okay. Move it here. Can I try closer to the elk? Thought I can move this thing. Maybe not. Oh yeah. There we go. Let's do that.
00:46:25
Speaker
Ah, it's not letting me do it. I'll just have to start a new one. That's fine. All right. So we will draw a new totem. Show me where again. Sorry. It's going to be over here. It's going to be on top of the elk. So that way, when people go into it, they'll still get the benefit of the aura. Yep. Got it. OK. And that is it. OK.
00:46:46
Speaker
Good, so it moves across the battlefield northward towards where the elk is by the tree line there at the crest of that hill. Davin, it's up to you. I got to look at it before it ran away, like how did it look as it was kind of running away? It's starting to look bloodied. It's starting to look pretty, it's starting to look damaged, yeah.
00:47:07
Speaker
Daven's gonna just kind of casually walk out of out of the woods and kind of around his people and You see now is like flames start to like curl up his legs and spiral around his body and come up to his hands as he's just going to throw Hopefully short so he doesn't catch too much the woods on fire a giant fireball right at the elk. All right. All right. That's a Yep Okay, the dexterity save from the alpha elk is a
00:47:38
Speaker
25. So it takes half damage. Yep. So it's 16 damage.
00:47:43
Speaker
So yeah, 32 is the role. So 16 damage is pretty solid there. So all of a sudden flames erupt all around this, this elk and it starts to buck and kind of turn and try to fight its way free. Its antlers hitting tree branches above it and rattling the trees. Pretty wet and green here. So nothing seems to catch as the fire just kind of like
00:48:10
Speaker
fizzles back out, leaving the the elk kind of singed. Yeah, it's been raining all day, you know, so is that your whole turn? I've got what did I move? I moved about 20 feet. So I'll move another 10 feet forward. Okay, great. All right, now, Krigs. Right. I am going to step forward 20 feet.
00:48:40
Speaker
It'll be at a range of 30 feet to me Actually, I'm gonna go I'm gonna go a little bit further. I'm in the you see that blue aura Yeah, step into it like that looks like it's gonna feel real nice. And so you step right in that. Yeah, I love blue And while I am here I am going to as a bonus action cast compelled dual
00:49:10
Speaker
Okay. Compel duel, it has to... I compel the creature with a... A seed and range has to make a wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is drawn to me compelled by my divine demand and for the duration it has disadvantage on attack rolls other than me and must make a wisdom saving throw each time it attempts to move the space more than 30 feet away from me. Oh, this could be clutch. Yeah.
00:49:38
Speaker
Rolls a 12. It does not save. Nice. Oh. All right. So on its turn, it has to go to you? On its turn, it has to fight me. It's compelled to attack me. Okay, perfect. Or at least it can't leave. It can't go more than 30 feet away from me. It can try to, but it's got to save.
00:49:59
Speaker
And then it has to attack him instead of some, or it will not try to attack someone else. It can, it just has disadvantage. Okay, that's right, that's right, yeah. Okay. I don't really have anything super ranged. So for my actual action, I'm going to cast Lay on Hands on myself and dump 20 hit points back into myself.
00:50:30
Speaker
Nice, knowing that you just told this thing to attack you. Yeah, actually, I might zone 25 straight up. Okay.

Conclusion and Teasers

00:50:40
Speaker
All right, so this, you see this, this energy kind of, or this like beam of light kind of surround Krigs as and then this creature looks at him and just lowers its head like ready to go. It's it says it's like drawn to him and wants to do nothing but attack Krigs. Now you can see it as it lowers its head and prepares to charge. And then another
00:51:08
Speaker
Beam of energy just erupts around krigs as he starts to stand a little taller feeling a little healthier now all of a sudden Jock sir, we're gonna come to your turn. All right, so he's going to move the 35 feet Was that? Since I get a little extra movement and then he's going to just try to wail on him Wail away. All right, so We're just gonna
00:51:37
Speaker
Oh, swing, swing big. What is that science movie? 13. Swing away, Jack. Swing away, Jack. 13 will not hit, right? So let me remove it. Correct. And I'm going to use my last luck point and try to make it. What is the war we're in? Do you get advantage in it?
00:51:58
Speaker
You get advantage on strength saving and strength checks. Okay. I wasn't sure. Oh, that was worse. Yeah, no. 12. 12. Yeah. I'm going to just try to use my key and try... I miss with my sword, so I'm going to flail around with my hands. Try to remember those deep, dark moments in the monastery.
00:52:25
Speaker
All right. There you go. That dirty 20 hits. Yeah. And then we get one more. And that's another 12, which will not hit. Yeah. So it takes four, four, four damage. I just kind of flail around with my rapier and then I just kind of slap it and miss. I don't know what's going on. Nice slap. Yeah. All right. All right.
00:52:53
Speaker
All right. Well, you're going to get to go try again. Cause this elk has to run towards Krigs here. So it's gonna, well, I don't know. It may not even leave your melee range. It doesn't. So you don't get an attack of opportunity as it, uh, just completely steps around you like, excuse me, Slappy and heads down to Krigs and, uh, and, uh, it gets down to Krigs and immediately takes a, uh, an antler Ram attack at him.
00:53:23
Speaker
Not today, Elky. And he rolls a 22. All right. Today, Elky. Maybe today, Elky. So a 2d6. So that's five, six, seven, eight, nine damage to hit or nine damage against Krigs there. And you didn't even touch me. That's my temporary. Five, 10, 15, 20. Yeah, that is. I believe that was 20 feet.
00:53:53
Speaker
Was that a 20 foot charge down there? Yeah. It was just, so, um, you need to make a, I think it's strength saving throw. Yeah. It's advantage. Yeah, true. Don't even need it. Also, Alan, I swear you have 10 temporary hit points added to your, Oh, you moved it. So I lost my temporary pit once.
00:54:19
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. So yeah, you, you take the hit from these antlers, and they, they pierce through your armor a little bit and do a little bit of damage, but you're able to take a step back and keep yourself from falling down as it tries to grind you down into the ground and push you down so it can do another attack that maybe it has if you're on the ground prone, but nobody has been so it doesn't get to do it.
00:54:43
Speaker
So that, uh, that takes us, uh, after that is Gwendolyn. Uh, I am going to produce fire. All right. He's as an attack on him. Roll to 12. Doesn't hit.
00:55:06
Speaker
You produce. I produce nothing, but. You feel productive, but. That's that's all I do. I just look at my hands and I'm like, why? OK, that's all I got. All right, great. That takes us to Davin. All right, his eyes turn white again as he throws forward a guiding bolt at second level. All right.
00:55:36
Speaker
Oh, guiding bolt. Oh. Wait, so a natural, a one is not an, is that a, is that a automatic fail, right?
00:55:45
Speaker
Yes. Yeah. Okay. So the natural one, so the guiding bolt, just nothing seems to come out. It just doesn't happen. And you're, you know, something's going on here to where you weren't able to cast that spell for some reason. So unfortunately, no, you don't hit with a guiding bolt. Anything else you want to try this this turn?
00:56:08
Speaker
Do I have anything else that I can try this turn? I feel like Gwendolyn would look over to Daven and be like, you too? What's happening? Only the hitty smashy guys aren't doing anything here. No kidding. I'll use my movement to get a little closer.
00:56:24
Speaker
Okay. Uh, he's going to scooch up about 10, 15 feet. Let's get right inside the totem. Oh yeah. Got it. Right inside the totem, about 10 feet away from the creature. And, uh, we're going to have, uh, Craig's take a turn for the worse. Right. How bloody is it at this point? Um, it is about 50% as healthy as it was when you started. Okay.
00:56:52
Speaker
to be very clear. It would be a lot worse if people rolled higher than 12s. Correct. Seriously? Yeah. I am going to channel divinity. You're going to see the palm of my hand still within the weapon just glow even further and my eyes kind of close temporarily.
00:57:21
Speaker
and I mutter just some utterance and I cast Channel Divinity as a bonus action and doing Vow of Invidity. So I gain a lot of pities in this one.
00:57:42
Speaker
I get advantage on attack rolls against a creature for one minute or until it drops to zero. You also already get advantage. So I don't know what the advantage looks like. It's just, it doesn't exist. Yeah. Regular advantage. It's a myth. I feel like an idiot for casting that, but it's still sounded cool. So let's do it.
00:58:09
Speaker
War hammer attack for 25. So what's your vow of enmity against it? What do you say about this creature that's your vow of enmity? I say you're a dumb elk. You sit on a throne of lies. Man, that is brutal. Okay, great.
00:58:36
Speaker
Yeah, real dumb. Cool. So I'm going to do a stupid action of just taunting it as it's already, you know. So I'm going to do a one handed attack on the elk 25 to hit. Yes, that will hit. And definitely total of 11 damage with that attack. Awesome.
00:59:02
Speaker
And I'm going to use a spell slot, then do Divine Smite. All right. And I'm going to do it at level two for 3d8 extra damage. 3d8! Cool. That could be significant. Out of 15. Nice. So now we're getting somewhere. So that is a total of 26.
00:59:28
Speaker
damage. Yeah. So, um, you what kind of damage was that radiant damage? Yeah. Nice. So you swing with your hammer. And when you smack this thing, it, it does the, the sound of your hammer just impact just thuds across the whole place. And it's super loud, because you hit so hard. And then
00:59:52
Speaker
then almost right after the hammer makes makes contact suddenly this divinity this divine energy shoots from your hand and and out of the out of the the hammer and when it does it just just impacts this this elk and
01:00:11
Speaker
The elk has to lunge down with pain as it just sears through this elks Exterior and its skin and flesh in and burns away at it so Is that your whole turn then I do an extra one more attack with my hammer it's Swing it back around above my head and bring it down Towards the elk and I just actually did that motion in real life. I feel like a dummy I
01:00:39
Speaker
I felt real cool though, so that's a nine. I do that all the time. I got told I didn't hit it. You threw a nine. Oh no, I get advantage. True. I get trouble with advantage. Roll until you hit. Yeah, roll until you hit. 17. Oh, 17 is one under. That's less than anything. Dang. Sorry, that double advantage didn't.
01:01:11
Speaker
So, yeah, that does not hit. That's cool. That's cool. All right, that is now Joxer's turn. And Joxer's feeling a little uneasy, but he's trying to look for, you know, the little hole in the behind and it's like, this looks like, you know, a simple place over here.
01:01:34
Speaker
You're looking for the pole in the mind. What? What? Yeah, failed failed failed. Thirteen. It's absolutely too wiggly. Could not get anything. What is happening? Just trying. All right. So 13 doesn't hit.
01:02:09
Speaker
That's all I get. That's all I get. We're not successful in punching the hole in the behind. No advantage there. Funny. No, butt head, don't go for the butt, go for the head.
01:02:24
Speaker
Alright, that's the elk's turn. Since Joxer didn't do damage to it, it still has to attack Krigs. He needs to roll at least one saving throw. He gets to roll at the beginning of his turn? Yeah. We'll go check on that actually. Hold on.
01:02:42
Speaker
Yeah, I was just looking at it. The spell ends. Omega Wizard saving throw. Each time it attempts to move to a space that's more than 30 feet away from you. So it only makes this, it only can make the save when it tries to run away from you. And if it fails, it can't run away. Gotcha. But it's just going to do the attack. Cool.
01:03:06
Speaker
I don't need the HP. Attack is a nine. So an unsuccessful attack. Once again, you just sidestep this time as it swings its antlers around trying to trying to kill you. All right, Gwendolyn. Gwendolyn looks at her hands and she claps on a few times and she's like, all right, let's go. And she tries to produce fire.
01:03:36
Speaker
That hits. An 18 is the armor class. You hit. For five.
01:03:44
Speaker
Five damage. Okay. Five fire damage. So the flames kind of just suddenly appear around this elk and wrap around it and start burning away at parts of its flesh. Krigs, you notice when it takes this damage, it takes its eyes off of you and blinks a couple times and looks back at Gwendolyn like, wait, there's more people here to fight. So that actually ended the
01:04:13
Speaker
spell that you had on it. So the compelled dual spell. Because if I understand that correctly, if I understand that correctly, if a creature friendly to you damages the target or casts a harmful spell on it, or if you end your turn more than 30 feet away, it ends the thing. So yeah. Okay, perfect. So that is that your whole turn, Gwen? Yes, that is it. Okay. Daven.
01:04:41
Speaker
You are. Are you inspired by going to reach out his hands again? I have to hopefully see one of his eyes turns red and the other one turns white as he throws like two things at one time. You see it like a spectral, like a radiant halberd come out of his left hand and then a firebolt come out of his right hand as a cast spiritual weapon right next to it as a bonus action. OK, which immediately gets to make an attack.
01:05:12
Speaker
Hey, and that takes seven damage from spiritual weapon. And then the other hand is a fire bolt that comes out and hits it with a cantrip. All right. I'm going to put a one to hit Halbert on here. Oh, cool. That you can control. I'm going to give you control of it. All right. All right. I was a 21 to hit with the fire bolts. 21 hits with anything.
01:05:39
Speaker
Uh, and it was, uh, I rolled a 10 and a two, but, uh, yeah, that's fine. 12 damage. So it was 12 from the fire bolts and it was seven from the Albert.
01:05:50
Speaker
Okay. And seven from the Halberts, so another seven. Okay. Yep. Yeah, you guys are chipping away at this thing as you're just slicing gashes through. It's kind of like a bull at a bull fight, you know, where it just slowly just chipping away at these big this big animal. And yeah, this it's starting to look really hurt now. So anything else you'd like to do, Devin? He's gonna back up one square. All right. That's all.
01:06:18
Speaker
He's like, how convenient of them to draw squares on this field for me. Krigs, it's your turn. All right, so my turn, I'm going to go ahead and one handed attack with my war hammer. Do it. That is a 23. A 23 will hit. All right. I'm going to do 11 damage.
01:06:47
Speaker
11 damage. So your hammer strikes and a nice concussive blow to the chest thing starts to wheeze as it's taken serious, serious damage. Awesome. Second attack, my extra attack. I'm going to just swing that hammer back over my head into the elk, rolling for 20 to hit. 20 does hit, of course. Yes. And I do a total of
01:07:18
Speaker
13 damage, 24 total with my turn. So 13 damage, you swing across the front of its face this time, and you just smack the bottom part of its jaw, break it, it starts to dangle. This thing is not dead, but it's really in bad shape, real bad shape. Awesome. Is that your whole turn? That's my whole turn. Then we are back at the top of the round with Joxer.
01:07:45
Speaker
Yeah, so he's going to he's going to look at its hind legs and just start bringing it down from legs legs up. With advantage, we have a 20 to hit. Yep. Eight piercing damage. And I will use my last key and do two more unarmed attacks.
01:08:17
Speaker
And we have... The 15 won't hit. Those would have been advantage rent. Yes, they should have been. Sorry, that was my... It's okay.
01:08:32
Speaker
We'll take this first damage rolls if any of that doesn't hit. So that was the first one. At least you're consistent. Yeah. Yeah. And definitely. I just, you know, these flowers are just so cute.
01:08:47
Speaker
Another natural one. Yeah. But you technically rolled a 15 and a 12, I think. Yeah. Yeah. Because you took the best of them. So still neither one hit, but you don't actually crit fail on the advantage rolls. So your rapier is trying to lash out and punch out at him. And you actually rape your hit, but you're
01:09:16
Speaker
your punches, they're just not landing very solid. This thing's got some pretty solid hindquarters in your struggle to damage him. That is my turn.
01:09:30
Speaker
All right. Gwen. Wait, no, sorry. It's the elk's turn and then Gwen. So the elk in just a last ditch effort swings its antlers frantically. As it rears up and swings its antlers down, you see its eyes start to glow like a golden yellow and its antlers start to like
01:09:52
Speaker
sparkle with this like they sparkle with this like almost like gold silvery glitter and it swings down and lets out this like agonizing just roar honk like bellow from deep within as as it tries to make this this attack monster
01:10:19
Speaker
And it's 14, so it just lowers its antlers down and strikes against your shield and it strikes strong and weighs you down just a bit, but it rears back up having done no damage to you after it smacked you in the shield. It then just kind of rears up and stands up tall and just waits for what's coming. Now it's Gwendolyn's turn.
01:10:48
Speaker
It feels so bad. And I am going to cast poison spray. I moved eight feet. Okay. Poison spray. All right. It needs to make a con save. Yes. I see that. Yes. I see that now. It needs to be a DC 15. Okay.
01:11:17
Speaker
Gets a plus seven. We'll see what happens here. Rolls a 20. No. I am double checking. If it's a cancer, it's none.
01:11:32
Speaker
No damage. Right, no damage. Okay, so the poison spray just shoots out and it's got its head held high. It's ready to die in honor and it turns its head away from the poison. It's like, that is not honor. Gwendolyn hangs her head down. He doesn't say that. That's just the impression you get from the smirk or the smug look in his face.
01:12:02
Speaker
But I know animal expressions. Yeah. Yeah, you would know that the antlers like the gigantic antlers just kind of like sway the acid or the. Yeah. In a way like a like a fan, please. Please drew it. Yeah. Come on. Yes. All right, David.
01:12:29

All right. The spiritual weapon will attack right on the hindquarters. OK. That's not a hit. That's a 14 will not hit. That's a big button. We're all missing. I tried. I tried. It smacks against. It just doesn't make any doesn't make any impact through the through its heavy hide. Then for my action, I will cast Guiding Bolts. All right.
01:12:59
Speaker
Oh, man, a nine. So your guiding bolt just sails into the trees. We don't really want to kill this thing, do we? Well, that's it. That's all I can do. All right, Craig's. This thing is standing in front of you. It turns and it looks you in the eyes with this golden glowing eyes, sparkling antlers, just waits.
01:13:26
Speaker
Oh, no. Get the impression it doesn't. It's trying to tell me something. I am going to attack it one handed with my war hammer. All righty. At advantage. Make that attack roll. Yep. With advantage. Twenty five to hit. Twenty five is going to hit. But roll again just in case you crit. All right. Yeah.
01:13:55
Speaker
I don't know first damage Okay, so you swing your hammer down And as you raise your hammer up to swing it bends its leg down like to one knee and presents the top of its head and you strike straight down on the top of this thing's head and when you do You strike with such force that it's the bottom of its head hits the ground
01:14:20
Speaker
And its chest follows and then its backside finally hits the ground too. And grass and dust kind of flops up and some mud as it hits the ground so heavy and hard. And it is finally dead. And it kind of just falls down onto his butt and he says that was a little bit harder than I thought it was going to be. Yeah. Just antlers.
01:14:50
Speaker
Um, jocks are just probably going to try to like salvage bits of it that are not just the antlers. Okay. Uh, why don't you make, um, a, uh, well, let's see. Um, trying to think of what, um, either survival nature or,
01:15:16
Speaker
or slight of hand, it's kind of cut it up. Make a nature check. It's knowing where to cut and how to do it properly.
01:15:26
Speaker
My role. Hey, there you go. Hey, 18. You're able to skin it pretty good and slice the hide off of it. And it's so big that the hide is basically the equivalent of three full elk hide pelts. And so you have those.
01:15:51
Speaker
The antlers are, you know, are the prize that you're needing for your to present. So you can cut those off without any real trouble. And with your roll, you're able to kind of, it takes you a little while, but you're able to cut them off to where they stay intact, you know, attached to each other, not two separate antlers. You get down into the bone and get that stuff off of there.
01:16:18
Speaker
you're able to slice up the meat and stuff inside too. It is far more meat than you all could carry. There are two other dead elk laying on the ground nearby as well. After seeing the amount of stuff that we have, I'm probably going to
01:16:42
Speaker
awkwardly like pull out a little thing from my shawl and lay it on the ground and start like shoving stuff in this little black square in the ground.
01:17:07
Speaker
Yeah, so, so Davin's putting hunks of meat down in this hole or this this apparent hole in the ground or jocks are in this apparent hole in the ground that's that's next to him. He just keeps throwing this stuff and just loading up something with all this meat and hide and and the antling do you put the antlers in there and everything or?
01:17:29
Speaker
I don't know if I'd really be able to do the antlers. I have a couple of things in there. The antlers are about, each antler is about as tall as you are. Yeah, I got like a 10 by 10-ish area. Probably not gonna be able to do the antlers, but all the extras, like probably, yeah, yeah.
01:17:58
Speaker
So it's all the excess. I'm probably kind of dropping in there and just kind of fold up this little blanket and then close it. Devin out of curiosity before you fold it up, he just picks a pebble off the floor and he just tosses it into the hole. So in that moment, like you probably hear like, click, click, click, click. You get like a really dirty look from Joxer and then a thud you hear. And then he starts like rushing to cover up the blanket.
01:18:27
Speaker
Just curious, friend. Ask questions. Don't throw. I'm going to pull out my, I've got 50 feet of rope. I'm going to pull it out and start tying it to the antlers so we can pull them along. So try and carry it. Okay. Good idea. Gwendolyn is probably going to say some words in Elvish and burn the elk bodies.
01:18:49
Speaker
because she feels like they need to be really... So she does a sort of ceremony kind of thing. Do you burn any of the alpha elk? Yeah.
01:19:00
Speaker
Okay. Whatever jocks or doesn't. Okay. As you burn, as you burn, you throw the alpha elk onto the fire, the bones and whatever's left, the bits that are left, the flames turn green as it burns these bones and it kind of sparks here and there like almost like
01:19:23
Speaker
Not aggressive, like a lot of sparkles, but almost like a sparkler at the Fourth of July, but it's burning green. Here and there, you see little sparks jump. There was something magical about this beast that has been made clear to you as you burn its remains. That makes Gwendolyn.
01:19:50
Speaker
suspect something. She keeps it to herself. Through the process of all this, the hacking of the body and the burning of the body and everything else, Krigs hasn't said a word necessarily, kind of put his mask back on and kind of pulled the hood up a little bit
01:20:15
Speaker
distant from everything, but it's still just kind of like they're silent. OK. OK.
01:20:25
Speaker
All right, David, is there anything else you're going to do? Joxers, you're tying up the antlers. Gwendolyn's burning remains. Krigs is kind of processing what all has just gone on, sitting quietly. Joxer is butchering some venison, I guess. Did you call elk venison, just like deer? I don't know. And that, I guess, is where we will end session one.
01:20:53
Speaker
Episode who knows The session won our first time together And so we didn't die nobody fully died I was surprised Hail and well met mercenaries that was a real punch in the gut wasn't it?
