Speaker: you
Speaker: This is making the cut.
Speaker: this is all while the music's going this is goingnna be silenced probably i don't know how long the music is this is this is making the cut Just cut the music out. Or just let the music go in the background the whole time. I don't care. sure yeah Or what we do is we just we just all do the music together and that'll be it.
Speaker: I have a confession. to make I never learned this song. What? You never learned it? Did you learn the lyrics? At least the lyrics. The lyrics, it was just, did do it was it do-do-do or da-da-da? No, there actual lyrics. We're a bunch of guys that play D&D and a girl plays too. Something like that.
Speaker: Oh, that's awesome. I didn't know that. Yeah, we didn't really work out the lyrics at first. No, we never wrote them, actually, at all. I'm waiting for the sequel.
Speaker: when the Okay, are you ready? Here we go. We're going to start this episode now. Hey, listeners, this is going to be a gently edited episode. I hope you enjoy.
Speaker: Hide your kids. Hide your wives. That's old. Okay. Hello, everybody, and thank you. Everybody, you're listening to the Hired Swords, and I'm your Dungeon Master, Michael.
Speaker: And with me, I have Blaze. He's ah he plays Krigsgalder. almost forgot who the players are. Hey, guys, it's me, Gentle Blaze. a Gentle Blaze. Don't be such a gentleman.
Speaker: I also have Ash. She plays Gwendolyn. Hi, it's me, Gentle Ash. Derek's here. He plays Davin. I am hardcore Derek.
Speaker: Yeah. Mikey is joxer. Hardcore joxer. Oh, yeah, brother. Oh, yeah. That was the gentlest hardcore ever heard. You became a professional wrestler. The cream of the crop.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah. Give me some D&D. I'm going to get in there, see? And I'm going to tear you to pieces, see That's great. So um we're playing Dungeons & Dragons. That's really why we're here. We're really here to have a good time. But the way we have a good time is we play Dungeons & Dragons.
Speaker: It has been a hot minute. And my assumption is this episode is going to come out real shortly after we're recording it. So let me give you a quick rundown, even though you can listen to the last episode right now if you want to.
Speaker: We can't. Actually, we could. But when we last left off, we were still caught in the throes of battle, deep underneath the tree village of Albinora and their temple, where we have the the party has eliminated several different cradles of magic that had been taken from different realms across the multitude of universes.
Speaker: And they have weakened Darnaldi to slow down this process of whatever it is he was trying to do down in this layer that they are in now fighting him.
Speaker: The battle has been difficult and rough as they've tried everything they can and Darnaldi for a while was not able to take damage because of him magical protection that was around him. They have destroyed that as Darnaldi has become more powerful while the shadow he's been summoning has taken the form of Scathenil, the shadow dragon. Scathenil, the name meaning shadow breath of legend, of lore, of a monster, a creature that takes whatever form it wants as it goes to try to bring doom and despair in the realms that it tries to occupy.
Speaker: um When Darnaldi was bringing this dragon creature into existence, Darnaldi was crying out, she will be glorified. He will glorify her.
Speaker: And ah the dragon asked, you said we were going to paradise. this is What is this place? um In a much cooler voice than that. Thank you, Davin, for editing that.
Speaker: And that's where we left off. The party... cut up, beaten and bruised a little bit. a drag small blue dragon having been summoned by Gwendolyn and this giant dark black billowing shadow dragon who is not fully formed as Darnaldi is still attempting to cast the ritual to bring him here fully.
Speaker: um Surrounded still by some of his followers who, when they're killed, have been evaporating into this black mist, adding to the power that Darnaldi is using to create this dragon.
Speaker: That's where we left off. It is the dragon's turn. so Here's what Scathenil is going to do. The first thing it's going to do is inhale deep.
Speaker: And it begins to inhale, nope, the shadow that damaged you all was from Darnaldi's ah layer action that he cast.
Speaker: Fair, fair. That's what was the end of the last episode. So now the dragon will breathe ah a long breath of shadow. um That is cone.
Speaker: conn That goes 30 feet um right across Joxer, Kriggs Golder, and I'm trying to find my measuring tool. There it is.
Speaker: i need a cone. So from here. They were cones. So 30 feet is jink. Yeah. So it's only going to hit Kriggs, actually, this particular cone. Poor little buddy.
Speaker: And Joxer, I guess, because Joxer's right there under it. Joxer, you are where you can see what's happening. i'm going to give you advantage on your saving throw here, um just because I'm a nice fella and this is a powerful breath weapon.
Speaker: um So as it goes, please make dexterity saving throws, both Joxer and Kriggs. I will. I did not do super great on that. So that, even with advantage, is... What is my dex? Where is it at?
Speaker: I know I have it. ah That is a 16. 16 is a 7. Is a fail. A 7 is a fail. um There's going to be a lot of D8. I think, technically, Mikey, you can add ah plus 2 to yours from my... And, Joxer, that was with advantage?
Speaker: Yeah. I rolled 2 and a 6. Okay. So that's 10 D8 for 28 plus 27. Ooh, that's two eights in that one roll.
Speaker: ah So 55 damage, is that correct? My quick And what kind damage is this? This is necrotic damage.
Speaker: Oh, okay. Couldn't be fire. Nope. Not from the shadow dragon. How much damage? I'm double checking, but my head math was 55. 28 plus that's enough.
Speaker: ah It is 55. So, yeah, you are unconscious, Kriggs. Uh-huh. Alright, Kriggs is unconscious. Joxer takes full damage there as well, and um he is now going to, that the dragon is now going to rise raise up, and its wings smash against the the stone in the ceiling, ah and Stone kind of crumbles down. A couple of the stalactites fall down in this cavernous ah room as he stretches his wings out and shakes his head and starts to puff in like it's trying to blow blow a breath weapon again. But you realize as it does, the power that it's trying to inhale is not there. He's not fully powerful enough to do full damage um with his breath weapon, as well as not available to ah do other damage.
Speaker: Other things that he may have been trying to do there um as he's not fully formed yet. That takes us to Davin's turn. All right. So I just saw my buddy go down right in front of me. So I'm going to fly down and forward and land right next to him. Oh, yeah. I forgot you were flying.
Speaker: I was flying, but not anymore. you go again after you got knocked unconscious? Maybe not. Maybe I was on the ground the whole time. I mean, you can still fly over there. You know what? I'm going to flap my wings, but I'm going to walk.
Speaker: Okay. It's just going to be for the show of it. um And i'm going to right down. I'm going put my hand on his shoulder. I'm going to we're not done fighting yet, buddy. And then I'm going to cast cure wounds and I'm going to spend five kind of five sorcery points to twin it so that I can get myself as well. So, Oh, nice.
Speaker: We're going to get some healing here for 28 points of healing to each of us. 28 each. It's like most of your health.
Speaker: Yeah, it doubled my health. More than doubled my health. um Awesome. And then can I see Darnaldi from where I'm at? Yes, he's standing right at the feet of the, well not feet, but right at the base of the dragon where all the mist is forming. And you can kind of see him standing their arms up as the the fog and this dark mist is swirling around him.
Speaker: And i have 120 foot range because I still have the um the lights circling around my head. So I'm going to throw a star, one of these fancy little magical stars yeah directly at him with my bonus action.
Speaker: Okay. And that's going to be a 27 to hit. That hits. And that's going to be 33 points of radiant damage to Darnaldi.
Speaker: Radiant damage. So as that hits him, theres you notice as the star flies through the mist, it flies past Joxer's face, goes right towards Darnaldi.
Speaker: The mist almost sizzles and and burns out as this star... the radiant power of this star flies through it. It hits Darnaldi. when it does, it sits there almost like it's, it's just for not, not a full second. It sits in like it turns into him and then finally wraps itself around him.
Speaker: And he, he begins to sizzle and burn with this radiant damage as the mist that is surrounding him evaporates. And when it does, you see the dragon shake its head. And,
Speaker: and just start to look down at you guys again, like realizing you've, you might be posing a threat. Oh, interesting. Um, and then since I only moved about 10 feet or so, I'm going to spend another, five, 10, 15, 20 feet and move back in a way just so I'm not right next to the man who keeps getting hit.
Speaker: Okay. Um, is that everything? That's, that's all I can do in a single turn. All right. Joxer. Okay. So, think, um, I will let's see here. I get ah for for the sake of I will cast investiture of flame.
Speaker: as it's a new one. i mean Yeah. So this one, let me throw that into the chat. Basically flames race across my body, shedding bright light in a 30 foot radius. And then um I just kind of turn into this little flame angel thing sort of. Let me find.
Speaker: that just to give a little you turn into a flame angel kind of a flaming angel flaming angel exactly it's it's so on on a brand that's hot yeah i love that you've got flames across your body, shedding bright light in a 30-foot radius, dim light for more blah, blah, blah. You're immune to fire damage and have resistance to cold. Any creature that moves within five feet of you for the first time on a turn or into turn there takes one D10 fire damage.
Speaker: You can create a line of fire 15 foot long on your turn, five foot wide. um Each creature in the line must make a dexterity saving throw or take fire damage. Sick. You're like a human firebolt.
Speaker: Yes. And so that takes my action. So I can't do too much there, but I'm going to use my bonus action to use something I haven't used since like the second episode or what it feels like back then is shielding aura, which is going to create a bubble around myself.
Speaker: So as a bonus action, shielding aura, starting at first level, you invoke the seeker's power to protect you from harm. As bonus action, you create a whirling aurora of brilliant energy.
Speaker: ah Until the end of your next turn, you gain resistance to all damage. And if creatures end its turn within 10 feet of me, it takes radiant damage equal to my warlock level plus 15. So that... Okay.
Speaker: And charisma. So let's see here. So that it'll be warlock level 13. So it'll be 28 damage if anything ends its turn next to me.
Speaker: ah have resistance... So basically, you just see me get covered in flame, and then a bubble ah emanates around me that is within 10 feet of me.
Speaker: So anybody within 5 feet of me um will take damage for the flame, and then anything within 10 feet of me will take damage for the the other side. okay And I'm going to move closer to directly or I'll get behind Darnoldi for the sake of, I guess I'm just because of old times, baby. Yeah.
Speaker: Got to go for the butt. The back side. The back. Okay. I think that's all I can technically do. Okay. You did. a You did technically quite a bit. So that's great.
Speaker: Just just prepped for another round. All right. Yeah. Awesome. Is that it? That's it. yeah We're going to the, clo the guys in the black cloaks. First of all, the one, there's one that's standing inside this radius of these burn ah embers of burned embers of mushroom and plant that have emanated around Craig's galder earlier in this fight. And, uh, it sears away at him and he just, ah, Wilhelm scream and dies right there.
Speaker: Um, The other three, there's ah there's three more of these ah cloaked ah kind of cultist figures who see that. They saw that happening. They stop short and they decide to go ahead and just each cast Firebolt at Gwendolyn as she stands there on the edge of that same circle of um of damaging terrain that is about...
Speaker: 25 feet behind where Krigsgalder is standing. um So three fire bolts at you equal. These are plus six. The first one is a, oh, a nat 20.
Speaker: Dang. Second one is 11. The third one is 12.
Speaker: So one hits to the, the other two definitely don't. So correct. The nat 20. twenty Let's see. What is the fire bolt? would have to nat 20. Yeah. Unfortunately, it was, which is just bonkers. that's this This doesn't happen to me. It doesn't happen to me. I don't know what happened just now. It just never happens to me. um But ah so it is a D10 doubled plus a number.
Speaker: and know Firebolt's not plus a number. It's a cantrip. So it's a D10 doubled. Let's see what it is. D10. Tell me it's not a one. It's a five. So 10 total damage from one of those guys that hit you. yeah Your armor class isn't that high. So they just sucked there.
Speaker: So then they start to back up. ah They do not. Actually, they do not. Um, they are they're going to start to try to surround you and kind of move around where they can get in a better position to attack you without going into the um into the the terrain that seems to be damaging the others um and then the guys in red now have a chance uh they are um Let me see here.
Speaker: So there are three of these guys. I think I saw three, four of these guys up there on this platform with the dragon and with everybody else up there. ah They are, ah they're going to, they're going to cast their arcane burst at Joxer all four of them.
Speaker: Um, so that is plus nine to these D 20 rolls. They don't get disadvantage or anything crazy because of your stuff. Uh, no, nope.
Speaker: Okay. I just have, so install the first one is an 18. The second one is an 18. That's weird. The third one is uh, 20, dirty 20.
Speaker: The fourth one is uh, 20 twenty one So two hit. Two hits. Perfect. um So they are these these red cloaked mages cast. they They put their hands together.
Speaker: They clap their hands together and one at a time open them back up and these this force dark purpley black force damage shoots from their hands slamming into two of them fly fly wild.
Speaker: One of them slams itself into ah into joxer for 4d10 plus 5 damage each. So that is... 30... 4... Whoops,
Speaker: four oops that's 4s. My bad, my bad. And then 30 then 29. Okay, 30 halved is 15, and then 29 halved 14? Uh-huh. All so... thirty halved is fifteen and then twenty nine haveved is fourteen right so That's 29 damage. Because of your shield, right?
Speaker: Yeah, resistance. The shield of aura right now is. um So 29 damage I'll take. And then i need to do two concentration. okay And there's one of these guys standing down here who's going to blast one of those same things at Kriggs Golder, who he can see across the way. Oops, that's the wrong thing. We'll just keep that as the damage for 11 damage.
Speaker: He rolled a nat 1. so he goes to cast it. And as he goes to cast it, um the he takes a step forward not thinking, almost like they're these guys are a little mindless.
Speaker: And ah he steps onto that. that terrain and it it was the kills him. It was because you were so attractive he had to walk towards you and he could not resist and then he died in the terrain. Yes, I know. i know that You lose too many people this way.
Speaker: Actually, a point of order. Since he was unconscious, he's technically prone so it should be a disadvantage so you should have to roll again and take the lower of the two. Hold up. Oh, snap. I took the, I should take the lower of the nat one and see if I can get lower than nat one. All right, we'll roll it again. Let's see.
Speaker: We're here to roll dice after all. What are going to do if it's another nat one? It's a nat 20. Oh, knocked out that 20. Well done. That's crazy. I wish I didn't waste that role. Oh, Derek.
Speaker: Derek, you are a monster. sneaky like that. You're the real BBEG. All right. So that takes us to Gwyndolin as they are all completed with their tasks.
Speaker: E. Hi. Hello. Welcome. Gwendolyn and Jimothy is just a part of your your turn as well. So you can use Jimothy, the big blue dragon, however you'd like. Okay.
Speaker: He's going to notice the smoke dragon that's forming and he's going to move a bit closer. If I can move him. Can you move him? I feel like Jimothy needs a theme song. Jimothy, the big blue dragon.
Speaker: Oh, I like that. Yeah. Jimothy is afraid to be... Need what the background we can't do a harmonicica ah harmonica Yeah. You know, the end of the family matters theme song.
Speaker: Why not? Now what's Jim? It's going to multi-tech. Yeah. Cool. Against the the shadow dragon. Yeah. yeah He's going to give him a little kiss and some hugs. Just a little dragon on dragon action. I like it. so Dragon dragon. ah First, let's do the bite.
Speaker: Okay. Okay. Okay. Sorry, it's finding everything. Boop. Oh my god.
Speaker: Oh no, and that won. so now so for Jimothy's a little intimidated by the big dragon. It's my sexy body, isn't it? Are you my daddy?
Speaker: And now he's going to do two claw attacks. One with his right arm and the next with his left. You've got to be kidding me. fourteen What do you add to those?
Speaker: Those are both I'm looking. and Hang on, hang on, hang on. Plus five. So 19s. Sorry, 22 is the number you're trying to hit. Ouch. So the dragon comes in and starts clawing and biting and trying to scratch at this bigger dragon who's looking at him.
Speaker: Nudges this blue dragon with its nose backwards, causing it to completely miss. Almost like he's playing with his food. Hmm. Okay. What next? What's Gwyndolin going to do?
Speaker: After I see him kind of fail at what he's doing, going to use my magic staff. I'm going to move up a little bit. I'm going to back up to be level with Davin and Krix.
Speaker: Mass cure wounds. And we're going to do it at a level six. A level six what? Mass cure wounds. Ooh, nice. Those are my staff. Holy Moses.
Speaker: I'm not even Catholic. Because his mask. Never mind. I'm not Catholic, but I like the ha wine. Sure, sure thing. little communione. What's the radius on this, Mass Cure Wounds?
Speaker: 60, 30 feet radius. 30 feet. The range is 60 feet, but it's 30 feet radius. Oh, 60? So you've got, you've got Kriggs and Davin.
Speaker: Yeah. I'm healing them puppies. And Jock's are like usuals, putting himself in the most danger. He's too close. Does it heal the caster too? He does because he loves us.
Speaker: He does. It's true. It's very true. It's a beautiful thing. Yeah, I did the spell. Okay. So it'd be 15 plus seven? 15 plus seven. Yep.
Speaker: Just 23. 22. Sorry, 22. I math. also to give myself 22. Head math is not my strength. In the range.
Speaker: I learned at the old school where you show your work on paper. That's not helpful in real life. You should have learned the common core. should learned the head math. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: That says, yeah. If it was 15 plus 5, it'd be 20, and then two more is 22. Bam, done. See, that's how I have to do it, but i don't my brain doesn't want to do that. I want to count on my fingers instead, which is slow and goofy. I prefer my toes.
Speaker: I mean, maybe you do better maybe I'd do better if I used my toes, but, you know. want to start moving towards the monsters, but I'm backing up watching these three guys.
Speaker: All right. that are coming our way. Great. So you guys are slowly getting, know your wounds are healing up. Some of the, wipe some of the blood clean and you see that you're little scarred, but not, not worse for wear. I feel like you can go a little, a few more rounds maybe with this situation. You got anything else, Gwen?
Speaker: Nope. That's it. I'm just trying to. All right. Jimothy went Kriggs. It's your turn. Um, quick question. Sure. Does this dragon seem to be just acting entirely on instinct or does it seem somewhat sentient at all? It spoke.
Speaker: Oh, I didn't catch that part. Yeah. In the last episode, whenever my voice was completely turned into this low dragonic sound, that was the dragon smoking. Wonderful.
Speaker: Wonderful. You said you would take me to paradise. That's right. That's right. That's right. Yeah, that's right. ah I'm just going to shout as loudly as I can at this dragon ah command to consume Darnaldi and I'm going to try to cast Gaius I guess that's the pronunciation of it G-A-I-A-S G-E-A-S
Speaker: i s g e a s
Speaker: I place a magical command on a creature that I can see within range. forcing it to carry out some service or refrain from some action or course of activity that I decide.
Speaker: If the creature can understand me, it must exceed a wisdom saving throw or become charmed by me for the duration. While the creature is charmed, it takes 5d10 psychic damage each time it acts in a manner directly counter to my instructions, but no more than once once each day. And the creature that can't understand me is unaffected by the spell.
Speaker: Okay. What is your spell save DC? My spell save DC is, I don't know. It's on your character sheet.
Speaker: I know, but man. On your spell, the top of your spell casting page, your spells page. 16? ah sixteen It's a 16? Okay. Yeah. yeah So, uh, so Scathenil has a plus nine to wisdom saves. So let's see.
Speaker: Jeez. I'm gonna roll it. Rolled 19. 10 plus nine. Okay. All right. So saves. Scathenil saves from the Gaius. That was a cool plan, but it did not succeed this time.
Speaker: Um... Listen, man. We do what we do. Yeah. what What are you goingnna try next? oh ah I'm going to walk closer, i guess, because I can't do anything else.
Speaker: Okay, great. So, Kriggs moves up. You want to get right in on it? Might as well. Like melee? Okay. Sure. Kriggs gets up to melee range. um At this moment, the dragon breathes in a deep breath.
Speaker: And when it does... The dark fog and mist that is in the ah that is on at the sides, these two portals on the sides of this room, start to billow outwards with tentacles crawling towards ah crawling towards everyone.
Speaker: They begin to move um they begin to move and push themselves down into the ground. And when they do, they rise up again in other in other places underneath ah these black tentacles.
Speaker: And um they catch they're going to try to catch Gwendolyn and Davin as they're still standing on this main floor area. No. um That is going to be... You are going to take make a dexterity saving throw.
Speaker: oh Oh, That's a 13. 13. It works, doesn't it? It works. And then in what was Davin's?
Speaker: Double ones. 11. Okay. 11. you guys, um you're both... The goal was 16. You're both restrained. meaning you cannot move from where you're standing.
Speaker: And at the beginning of your turn, you take some damage. No. um i was These are shackles of darkness, part of the layer action of this creature.
Speaker: um Actually, this should have been a strength saving throw, not a dexterity. Does that change anything for you two?
Speaker: I think that's probably worse for both of us. It takes from two to a negative one. ah gotcha. Okay. And it takes me an eight to a seven. Okay. So both fail either way. I figured that was the case, but it would been a big difference for Krigs, but not for you too.
Speaker: All right. So you guys both, um you guys both are currently restrained. So I'll put a little net icon on your screen. On your tokens there to remind us that you're restrained.
Speaker: um And then that takes us to Darnaldi. He is going to continue to summon this dragon. um He's at a point now where he... yeah.
Speaker: He's at a point now where he reaches down and pulls out a dagger. And when he pulls out his dagger, he ah he puts it to his own hand and he slices his hand and move like squeezes his hand to cause this blood to come from his hand. And as it does, the blood pours from his hand.
Speaker: And then as it drips off of his hand, it changes to this black mist and joins it. And he raises his hand up and begins calling out in a, you know weird, like syncopated rhythm of chant that you don't understand.
Speaker: And when he does this, the other guys in red, these, these pages in red, they all begin to scream and they just scream out like bloody murder. And as they do, they begin to evaporate into this mist form that, that,
Speaker: that is surrounding, that is creating this dragon. So all four of these mages have now turned into this dark fog and mist, and they have joined Darnaldi at the base, that this mist has joined Darnaldi at the base of this dragon as it's forming.
Speaker: And as it does, you can see that now the dragon starts to stretch taller. His, his, uh, his wings stretched out, his arms coming up stronger and taller as it gets closer to the lower section of where this dragon would be fully formed.
Speaker: um And at that, the dragon's turn ah comes up. He needs to roll to see if he gets his breath back or not.
Speaker: So that's a D6 roll. Darnaldi will also take a bunch of damage. Oh, great. So he takes... What is the damage? ah So... What that? 30 radiant damage.
Speaker: And... Okay. Oh, that's actually... um And then... 9 damage. okay so as This is happening. And all of this dark mist and fog is swirling.
Speaker: Darnaldi's face starts to drain like his skin is melting off. He starts to glow red and his his back catches fire. And as it does, you see him be drained and drained. And so this the the dragon stretches up strong and tall.
Speaker: and And as it does, it shakes its head again as Darnaldi pulses with this damage from this radiant face. magic that is it emanating from you now and the flames that are that are licking up against his back up to the back of his head and he finally he looks back to you a little bit the first time he he's really acknowledged your guys's presence and taking himself out of this ritual that he's casting and you see his eyes go wide with panic as the fog and mist starts to grow a little bit thinner on around him
Speaker: And the dragon looks down, um growling as he um as he yeah has been getting more powerful, but now i sees threat. That was kind of a good growl.
Speaker: Thank you. um i'm I'm a growler. ah So that is, is that all that happens to Darnaldi at this point? Yeah, yep that was ah the the bubbles. Okay.
Speaker: Perfect. So Darnaldi, panic in his face. The dragon looks down, growls at him, looks back up at all of you. and he's going point at...
Speaker: point Who can he see? He's going to point at Gwendolyn. His claw of a finger with his wing attached to it points at Gwendolyn.
Speaker: And he says, is your end. And when he does, i need you Gwendolyn to make a wisdom saving throw.
Speaker: Alright, this is your skill. Do it. 18. 18. Plus 2. 18 succeeds. So you're going to take half of 4d12 damage from this Toll the Dead. This high level Toll the Dead spell. Are you saying that that's a spell?
Speaker: Uh-huh. I will use a reaction to cast... ah a cantrip spell at him with Warcaster. Oh, cool.
Speaker: Okay. So I said 4d12. 4d12. forty twelve Just kidding. 4d12. That roll combined is 22 damage to Gwendolyn.
Speaker: There goes your healing. You just did. um oh And I don't know. It doesn't add anything to. um You succeeded though. So it's actually half. So you take 11. okay Oh, okay.
Speaker: So, 11 damage. ah So he does that to you, and then just um
Speaker: gave myself a thousand and four. He's just not fully formed yet. He can't do everything. So that's all he's able to do at this point like is that is that that damage to you.
Speaker: ah So he breathes in again. You can see that the shadow has started to billow up in his throat and in his mouth, and he starts to rear back and open his mouth again as if he's ready to do that breath weapon once again. Davin, it's your turn.
Speaker: I don't want to.
Speaker: I don't want to. I can't. If somebody can remind me, I don't know if anybody can remind me. Did he, did Darnoldi have like any sort of a legendary resistance that he did last time? I feel like he did.
Speaker: He did. Okay. Yeah. He resisted a counter spell or something like that. Something like that, but he has the charm or something. I think he just said the resisted the exact same spell that I just tried to cast again. The gayest thing. Yeah. I think you're right.
Speaker: Oh yeah. That does sound about right, man. Okay. Um, so first things first, um, I am trapped in the ground, huh? Yes, you are not able to move currently. Oh, and at the beginning of a turn, you take damage as well. Uh, that damage that you take is three d six necrotic damage, 3d6 plus nothing, 11 necrotic damage.
Speaker: Okay, okay, that's fine. 11 in the chronic damage. Okay. All right. um So I'm going to, I'm just going put where I am right now. Okay. And I'm going to shoot with my bonus action. i will shoot another one of these little light motes off of me and see if I can hit Darnaldi again. Okay.
Speaker: so Make that attack. ah It's only a 16 this time. That hits. Oh, it does hit. Excellent. Yep. It's going to be 20 points of radiant damage.
Speaker: Okay. um In fact, let me give me, give me, give me, give me, give me second here. I can do, I can spend one sorcery point to roll up, re-roll up to five dice. So I rolled a three and a one. So I'm going to re-roll two of those dice.
Speaker: Okay. um And I got 10. So that's going to be 26 total instead. So six more points. Okay. All right. You, as this that hits him again, it burrows into him and actually sits inside his midsection as he is starting to turn to mist and fog.
Speaker: And Jockser, you notice this red glowing light that was in his eyes has started to fade as he seems to be on his last legs at this point.
Speaker: Um... At that as well, the dragon starts to convulse and pulsate and pray and looks down at you all with his breath weapon starting to to grow in his breath or in his mouth.
Speaker: He's still actually like actively casting something, making this happen? or is it like He is, but he's growing very weak in his casting now. you're slow it's It's like it's slowing him down and making it not as powerful what he's doing.
Speaker: Okay, take ah let's take a wild shot here, and I'm going to, with my main action, I'm going to cast Banishment on him. Am I within 60 feet? That's the problem.
Speaker: You're at 75 feet. Dang, and I can't move. that's not going work. Here, tell me the spell, and then I'll do it. you You can go further than I can?
Speaker: and She's also stuck. I'm also restrained. Okay. Yeah, I was going to say, i I thought you were kind of in the same sort of position that I'm. Well, shoot, that kind of changes a whole lot of things, that distance thing.
Speaker: um So instead, I'm going to cast a third level guiding bolt at him instead. So I yeah stretch out like a long bolt of, you know, white light and I just throw it at him.
Speaker: And I roll a 22 to hit. 22 to hit? Yes. And this is 22 more points. Is it radiant? It is. 22 points of radiant damage.
Speaker: 22. 22 points. So this this light shoots at him. His eyes grow wide as it pierces through even a portion of scathonyl as the se bottom section of him is starting to become more mist than corporeal form.
Speaker: And it's, it wraps itself around Darnaldi and he starts to his, his, um, arms as they're waving, trying to continue to cast this ritual.
Speaker: They start to blink out into this, into this, crazy like mist form as as some of these guys who when they die, they turn into mist. He's slowly doing that and becoming a part of this.
Speaker: Also, Gwen and Davin, you notice when this happens, the weakness that is happening in this spell casting is causing the two portals on the side. They are now starting to, it looks like,
Speaker: Inhale this shadow instead of exhale and the shadow instead of billowing from it out into this area is pouring back into the portals on the sides of this room.
Speaker: Okay. I think that's a good thing. That sounds like sort of a good thing. Um, it also has just a point of note for the next person, guiding bolts makes the next attack against him have advantage.
Speaker: Perfect. That's joxer's turn. Alrighty, then i think at this point I will be just doing my attacks with my rapier.
Speaker: so I'll get two attacks and then oh I guess, use key points likely. Okay, so the first one's at advantage. Yep.
Speaker: What that? 26 to hit. ah twenty six to hit Definitely hits. You're going for a 14, believe it or not. ah Oh, no. Now that he's weakened. right. So that's a 15 on that one.
Speaker: um God. That's a nat. Or wait, no, I didn't. Well, that doesn't matter because that one I'm not hasted. So that didn't. OK, so two hits with the rapier, which is ah so that'll be nine plus eight.
Speaker: So 13 fire damage. Okay. And then I will use a key point to um punch him with my fists. And the the fists are radiant now?
Speaker: Yep. From back when? Okay. so They is. They is. That is 19. And i will use a luck point on that just for funsies.
Speaker: And that will be... exactly a 14 so good deal ah yeah that hits just barely radiant where's my fists i'm sorry d6 typically on the end of your arms uh these punches are flying and the sword is flying and flames are firing off yeah 15 uh radiant so yeah uh two two stabs ah with the rapier and then kind of back hands with uh with uh the fists Okay, so ah this radiant damage was how much?
Speaker: 15. So 30. And so as you hit it, ah ah the the rapier starts to slice and burn away at what's the mist that's there. But then your punch, just the light from your from your radiant tattoos on your on your arms, they...
Speaker: it it's like it pushes your fist further in when you punch, causing you to it to kind of absorb into part of his body as it turns into this mist.
Speaker: And when you pull your fist out, it's like there's this gaping hole there with just this swirling tornado of mist in the middle of his body as he's turning into he's transitioning from Darnaldi, the elf, to whatever this this dragon is is, it's trying to consume him, it seems.
Speaker: Oh no, my spell! It worked! Oh my god. um And that that's where, I don't think I have anything else from that perspective, so it is... it is ah It is someone else's turn.
Speaker: All right. That goes now to these, the hooded ah cultists. They begin to transition out of their corporeal form as well. They all turn into mist as this dragon. It seems to be making its last ditch effort to stay a part of this realm.
Speaker: And it seems to be um we using every bit of shadow that it can get a hold of to pull in because to pull itself in to strengthen it because it's not fully formed yet. It's not at full strength.
Speaker: And these it seems like whatever's happening to Darnaldi is causing these portals to reverse and pull the shadow out of this space. Yeah. um Anyone go back? so Gwendolyn, it's your turn.
Speaker: The dragon's looking weaker as well? Yes. Yes. As Darnaldi weakens and as these portals become less powerful and become begin sucking this shadow in, it's almost like there's this fight between the dragon and these portals to main to to absorb the shadow either it back to where it came from or into this dragon to finish forming it. But he's not fully formed.
Speaker: Okay. i I'm going to have Jimothy start to get up in the air because he was just on the ground at first. Yep. And he's going to do, if it you will allow me, I'm going to do wing attack, which is a legendary attack, and I can only do three of those. Okay.
Speaker: And it counts as two. um So he's going to beat his wings, and the creature within 10 feet, which is the dragon, must succeed on a DC 20 dexterity saving throw.
Speaker: Oh, okay. All right. So the shadow dragon does a dexterity saving throw. It's a plus nine. Good God. Oh my gosh. 21.
Speaker: Dragons don't mess around, me All right. Well, he tries. He tries. Jimothy tries to make him prone or at least somewhat disoriented while I cast sunburst.
Speaker: Woo! and I'm going to cast this big orb of sun, basically. ki Yeah, dang. And has to make a constitution saving throw. So he has to beat a 19.
Speaker: The dragon does? Yeah. A constitution save is a plus 14. Oh my god. 12d6 radiant? 33. Jeez. Alright, well... However, however wait. on What kind of damage is this?
Speaker: This radiant damage. okay so it takes full damage not half half okay but also not double like it would if it hadn't succeeded on its save does that sense yes okay so what was the damage 44 radiant damage so 22 no no 44 sorry radiant damage so twenty two um and no forty four no sorry I just said it takes the full damage.
Speaker: So this sunbeam just bursts through the... ah Just out of nowhere, above Gwendolyn and laser focuses beam right into this dragon's face.
Speaker: It lifts its head up. And... and ah kind of ah rears back like a horse guy that got spooked by something. it's Its wings fling back and you can see that the the shadow that is surrounding and swirling around its body starts to evaporate in this radiant sunbeam light as it is harmed pretty pretty badly by this.
Speaker: I yell out, it's not my end. It's my beginning. Bitch. We can get that.
Speaker: All right. Is that everything? for right now? Yes. All right. Krigs. No more tomfoolery. Get him.
Speaker: I'm just... i'm well like I don't know if I have to dip, dodge, dodge, and dive or whatever, but I'm going to just walk up to Darnaldi and hope that I can get through. with what just Because of the kind of one-two punch of these wings flapping this fog and mist around from the dragon, and then the sunbeam slamming into the dragon's head and blowing it back like it did, that opened that pathway perfectly for you to walk right up to Darnaldi.
Speaker: Okay. And then I'm going to take my war hammer and with literally everything that I have, because nothing at this point has done literally anything. I'm going to swing, a swing, swing wide, swing. True.
Speaker: Good. And rolled 23. That hits very easily. Hits Darnaldi. Broke off the back here.
Speaker: Yeah. Oh, and now it's with advantage. and We want to test for a nat 20 because you're flanking. I would like to do that. Chris Gold are in the front. Jocks are in the back. I was at one. So no. don't want to do that.
Speaker: You guys look at each other like, oh it's like the good old days. Yeah. Are Derek and I still restrained? Or Davin and I? um We'll find out in the next, after this, after Craig's turn, we'll find out.
Speaker: Okay. We'll have to make throw. 15 7. 22. I think I'm going to pop a Divine Smite in a minute too.
Speaker: Yeah, I would.
Speaker: That sounds like something I would do. Smite him in a divine way. I want to blast him. I've got to just remember how much the divine smite. How many dice I need to roll for that.
Speaker: Oh, it's a number. For sure, a number of dice. Man, I you what. I've said this a million times. Paladins have so many. Okay, so. yeah yeah ah I'm casting at...
Speaker: yeah Max level. Screw it. ah Max of what I have anyway. So it's 5d8. Okay. And let us do that.
Speaker: 5d8. I hit for 24 on top of the 22 that I hit originally. So my first hit is 46 damage. 46 damage and radiant. Okay. All right. So that 46 damage hits him.
Speaker: He dissolves. He evaporates. He is now one with the base of this dragon, but the base of this dragon never formed legs to be fully corporeal, it seems.
Speaker: And it is in the swirling and the twirling of this drag, the bottom section of this dragon is fog and it is thinner, getting thinner and thinner, it seems.
Speaker: um as it's definitely weakened from the loss of this spell this ritual caster that just died. How can I reach him? I mean, as you say, it's fog. His legs are fog.
Speaker: Yes, you can attack the shadow just like you've attacked like the other shadow and so creatures and stuff. It's kind of similar to that. and just didn't know if like I'm short, I'm underneath of him. Sure.
Speaker: i would say that I would say that you get the feeling like whatever damage you do in this, wherever you can reach, will strike true to him. Okay. i'm going to take I'm going to take my ah extra attack. i'm gonna ah Just watching Darnelli get obliterated, I get a little bit of motivation and I swing my second attack ah towards this dragon. Kind of stunned that Darnelli fell, but also dude needs to die.
Speaker: Yeah. I don't have advantage on him, do I? um Not on the dragon, no. Okay, i' rolled 23. 23 hits. That's what you needed. ah hit him for 9 plus... Where is my improved...
Speaker: Nine plus six. Nine bludgeoning six radiant. so that So nine plus six. So... All right. So he takes another, that radiant damage, just like it did with Darnaldi, crawls up inside him through this fog and jolts him. His head rares back as he's getting weaker and weaker from this radiant damage that's being poured into him from you and Joxer and Gwendolyn and Davin. You've all dumped...
Speaker: whatever source of radiance you have into him as the the magic of Corion and the seeker all seems to directly counter whatever magic is causing this dark shadow to succeed. Is that everything?
Speaker: No, going to call very strongly in the power of the wilds and hope that they answer. And I'm going to cast a bonus action. One of my channeled identities, feral slaughter. And I get basically a third attack.
Speaker: Okay. And I rolled 19. 19 does not hit. Yeah. So I did all this cool stuff and then I said, whiff.
Speaker: And then, yeah, the corporeal... stumbled. incorporeal missed form of him, you've you swung through a weak section that didn't seem to do much damage. It just kind of flung out some of the stuff that was already fading away. You know, i tried so hard and I got so far, and in the end, there wasn't a Darnoldi.
Speaker: they All right. So now I need Gwendolyn and Davin to make ah strength saving throws against these... Tentacles. Don't even try.
Speaker: Two. One. One, it two. It don't matter. All right. So yeah, you both for now at least are still ah stuck in those.
Speaker: um It is also, it is now going to be Scathenil's turn. Scathenil is going to... ah also seemingly unable to move, is going to take its last kind of attempt and stretch its body forward as much as it can.
Speaker: And it's going to breathe its shadow breath at Jimothy because that's where it can focus its energies. um So it's going to breathe that shadow breath at Jimothy.
Speaker: That is a, what's the saving throw? I forgot. ah A dexterity saving throw for Jimothy. He's got to beat a 22. two Alright, I rolled a 2 Alright.
Speaker: Plus 0. So, 2. two Plus 0. Okay, so Jimothy... Jimothy takes 15d8. Oh my gosh. Damage from the slightly... Actually, no, it's only 10. Sorry. it's still 25... 28... 58 total damage from that.
Speaker: twenty eight era fifty eight total damage from that right, he's at 167 health. As he breathes the shadow all over Jimothy, and this Jimothy the blue dragon inhales it. It starts pouring from his other orifices in his body, um and eventually he starts to weaken as it doesn't kill him, but it really does a lot of damage to him.
Speaker: You just didn't want me to summon a dragon. And I know I'm killing your stupid dragon. i got to do with the dragon. This is my dragon day, not yours. Get this knockoff crap out of here.
Speaker: All right. um ah He tries again to inhale and breathe in deep, trying to keep himself there as the shadow around him is starting to decrease. There's no more...
Speaker: people around him in order to bring in their shadow. Uh, so he, one more time, I'm just going to roll for that. Tries to see if he can gain his power.
Speaker: It is not good enough. And he does not increase in his strength or power on this round. That takes us to Davin. Hmm. um It would take 14 fire damage from my little flame thing. And then he then he the flames just start to eat away even more at the shadow beneath him near where the jocks are standing.
Speaker: Okay, I'm going to try something. Okay. First, Davin, he looks over at Gwen and he says, don't don't judge me. And then you just see him turn to mist as I cast Misty Step with my bonus action. Okay.
Speaker: I'm going to move 15 feet forward and 15 feet up. And then I'm going to use my wings to fly forward and just fly right. I think I can go another 30 feet. So I can think can get it right next to the dragon, right?
Speaker: Uh-huh. Okay. I'm going to smack right next to it as close as i can. You're going to help my dragon, right? I'm sorry? Yeah. you're going to help my dragon, right? Yeah. I'm going to help all of us. That's the whole planet.
Speaker: Yeah. but i'm going to cast I'm going to use three sorcery points to cast height Heightened Spell. I don't know if I need this. But when you cast a spell that forces a creature to make a saving throw, you can use three sorcery points to give it one target disadvantage on their first saving throw against the spell.
Speaker: So he'll have disadvantage. Then I'm going to use my action. I'm going to pull out my necklace, and I'm going to open it up, and I'm going to read the inscription in it. Davin's only done this once before, but it worked the first time.
Speaker: So I'm going to try and trap the soul of the dragon. Okay. All right. don't know how this works, but we'll we're going to find out. All right. So you're going to op you open the the necklace, the locket sort of mechanism in the like necklace and read the inscription.
Speaker: You call out to the soul of this dragon. The dragon turns and looks at you, its face, its eyes looking directly in your eyes as you guys see Davin.
Speaker: ah Davin standing, flying there, hovering there, um um electrical, ah like lightning energy pulsing through his wings as he stands there with that thing open, reading out, calling out.
Speaker: And the yeah shadow breath is going to make a charisma saving throw. With disadvantage.
Speaker: charisma saving throw with disadvantage With disadvantage. um This is going to have to beat.
Speaker: If it's my spell DC, it's a 19, but I don't know if it's the necklace. Your spell DC is a 19. All right. And then this. um Okay.
Speaker: So I'm just going to say this, the spell in this locket is pretty, it's really powerful. So I'm going to, I'm going to, I'm going to raise your spell DC to 25 because of that.
Speaker: um Because of the... Just the inherent magic. So between your magic and the magic of the spell that's being cast through this locket, it's 25. um So, it gets disadvantage. The first one he rolls, it's a plus 11.
Speaker: The first one's a 12. He rolled a nat 1. The second, that's real. I'm doing this on roll 20. They can see it. The second one's a 17. He wouldn't have even beat it with your spell save.
Speaker: So describe what happens when a soul gets sucked into this necklace. You guys watch Davin. He was flying just about five feet above the ground, but as he starts reading, he just slowly starts to to descend until he lands on the ground.
Speaker: And as he reads, you see these sparks start to come around and and it's like lightning striking out. But it's, you know, if you've ever seen like a volcano where it's got the lightning and the smoke, like all kind of billowed in together, that's what you're seeing kind of coming out of the ah the necklace as the smoke lightning kind of wraps around the dragon.
Speaker: And then it just kind of like encompasses the entire thing and until it's just one big ball of black lightning and then just all sucks right into the necklace. It slams closed and then it glows brightly, sparking a few more times before it just finally calms down.
Speaker: And then you see Davan's eyes, the same thing, like the lightning sparking in his eyes and finally calms down and it kind of goes back to normal. He says, oh, I remember that feeling. And after that happens, the fog and mist that remains, that was still hadn't joined this dragon, begins to so be sucked out of the room as the only other force in this room that was trying to gather this dark fog has now left the room.
Speaker: This mist and fog sucks into these portals in the side of the room. And when they do, these portals close. And you're now left in this large cavernous cult layer of a room where the fog has lifted and you are now, um, Darnoldi has been killed.
Speaker: The fog is gone. There's a blue dragon standing there waiting for Gwyn's next command. What do you do now? Oh, he's staying with me for a little bit. I'd like to know that this map is super rad. I don't know if we ever said it originally, but thank you. Just throwing that out there.
Speaker: Agreed. ah hate it. I don't. I love Joxer and Kriks are just sitting in like the center of it's not quite, you know, it's a ritual circle. So that feels good.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, the ritual has ended and failed, so at ah at least that's the case. i i think I think we did it. Gwen, are you okay?
Speaker: I think so. And i start I run over towards Timothy. Oops. Yeah, and the and the tentacles, everything like that is all it's all dissolved. It's all gone. I'll walk by Krig's and put a hand on his shoulder.
Speaker: Well done. That was all very hurty. Yeah. Yeah, none of this felt good. The dragon um settles down onto the ground and then bends its head down to me and I pet its nostril. Thank you, my friend.
Speaker: Evaporates. It gives a little growl, like a little almost like a purr of a growl.
Speaker: Lifts its head up so you can get his chin. Some scritchies. Say goodbye. I like Jimity. I think he's my favorite for all of your creatures. He will be missed. He helped save us today.
Speaker: Even though he didn't. We all know he didn't. He tried.
Speaker: He at least distracted the dragon for a little bit. ate some damage, right? He did eat a lot of damage. It's true. did you Did you dissolve him? or did you I did dissolve him, yeah. Send him away? Okay.
Speaker: um The room you're standing in is definitely a ritual chamber with some prayer altars. there's It seems to be maybe intended for something else as you look around. the There's fires that have been lit and kind of makeshift a little portal canvas or like like ah animal hide stretched across these wooden frames that have these ritual iconography elements painted on them in blood and that's where this portal had kind of come from.
Speaker: These portals had come from that the shadow was coming in. ah The shadow again has is gone and you can see there are even some, there's like a section as you're standing on top of this kind of three tiered platform You can see there's an area where it looks like a study where there's treasure and things like that and table and books.
Speaker: And then the other side almost looks like some sort of little pen for animals. And you do see a couple of goats in the back of that pen, probably kept here for sacrificial purposes by Darnoldi and his followers.
Speaker: And this chamber is empty besides you. And in runs Carrick.
Speaker: He runs in his arms in the air, waving around. And he says, i can't believe this. You've done it. You've actually stopped him.
Speaker: What was happening in here, he says. Apparently they were trying to bring a dragon. Scathenil Shadow Breath.
Speaker: How do you know? Well, the books speak of, as you read, the creature that it takes on different shapes and forms as it tries to take over other realms.
Speaker: I can only imagine that Darnaldi gave it its form of dragon, but it is definitely, definitely you've saved this land and probably many others from extreme consequences.
Speaker: Complete demise, I would guess. It's all in a day's work. Just a moment ago, ah moment ago, all of these all of the the cradles, they vanished. They're gone. They're no longer in the cavern.
Speaker: and And all that is left, all that remains is my study and and the temple of the Al-Menora, what should be here in the first place. That's all that's left.
Speaker: You've done it. You've you've returned the radix of the arcane. Back to their rightful realms. Joxer just sits down on one of the steps of the the stairs to this altar.
Speaker: Yeah, I just... I don't know what was to gain. What was Darnaldi trying to get bringing that beast here?
Speaker: Spellslots walks up on the shoulder as I just sit there and take a deep breath. I believe that Darnaldi... I don't see a body. Did he become Shadow?
Speaker: Yeah, he he's no longer in this realm. Well, then, he has always been Shadow. He did mention us, she. Wow, do we know who he was talking about?
Speaker: He mentioned she?
Speaker: she will be something what did she what did he say she will be she will be glorified yeah she will be glorified if this is about the shadow realm he's probably speaking of shah she's the ruler there Skathenil is... Skathenil paves the way for her to rule.
Speaker: She was trying to rule from here and gain access to all of these other realms through their cradles of magic starting here in this room.
Speaker: And you have stopped it. Well, hopefully that's going to be the end of it, but if I know anything about powerful evil creatures, they find another way. Well, if you've dispatched that beast, that beast is one of the most powerful creatures that has ever been in any realm.
Speaker: If you've dispatched it, it's not far. It's probably just back where it came from. and No, I don't think we'll be seeing him again. What if what happened to Skasson? What just happened? What did we just watch?
Speaker: and well So this necklace has a way of trapping the soul of a creature in it. um When I found it, I didn't really know exactly what it was, but after I'd done that with ah an angel of sorts, ah you've seen him now.
Speaker: ah we we'd recently separated. ah and not not Not like we broke up or something like that, but, you know, it's... Our souls were, I think, tied together somehow, and then, like, we started combining. I'm here judge you ah about whatever you and the angel are. wasn't a boyfriend, it was son? It was completely put assault platonic, all right?
Speaker: Except for the fact that, you know, our souls were kind of combining together. Anyways, we were able to fix that problem. Is he still in there, or is it he left and Now it's just the dragon? The necklace was empty.
Speaker: I don't know what exactly happened to him, but the necklace was emptied and we were separated. Though I got to keep his powers.
Speaker: i It's complicated and I don't really know. There's not really a lesson that came with this necklace. um But it was empty and I saw a weak creature again. And I decided to take advantage of it. I didn't know if it worked, honestly. A dragon, smoke dragon for all that.
Speaker: So you... You you have scathenil in your necklace. You just stole a god's dog dragon? Yes and yes and no and no.
Speaker: its I mean, I didn't steal it. it was He was here and he was going to die anyways. And I didn't steal all of him, just his essence, his soul. You must destroy that necklace immediately.
Speaker: I don't know if that's a thing. Or hide it somewhere. Somewhere no one else can ever find it. Well, I mean, I tuck it into my shirt.
Speaker: I've never seen it before. nothing else... I guess that works.
Speaker: If nothing else, today, we celebrate. it We must tell the people of Almanora that... It's time to go home. We must return our people to where they where they rightfully belong.
Speaker: and Rebuild our cities and our villages. and there's There's nothing to be afraid of anymore. Darnaldi was wrong. You've made it so we can go back.
Speaker: Gwendolyn, you must join us. She looks back at her friends. And then she looks at her dad. ah And then back at her friends. She's
Speaker: Even if it's for a short time, we can all join us. Yeah, don't have anywhere to be for a while. want to go back with Carrick. But I don't want you guys to hate me.
Speaker: This has been my travel the whole entire time. But i I've made a family out of you guys. and i'm I mean, it doesn't mean that we won't join you. or i mean, I'll at least go for a little bit. I want to see the place not covered in shadow.
Speaker: Glendalyn blushes. there There is a way for all of you to get back to wherever it is you'd like to go. um Now that the Radix has been returned, that teleportation should work as it's supposed to.
Speaker: we can just come and go? Well, it's not as simple as that. There must be somewhere with a statue of Corion there, and then you can make your way back here. Well, if you catch the red eye.
Speaker: So we can just come and go. So help me out with this a little This whole city was somewhere else before, and it's here now?
Speaker: Or just the people, and you rebuilt here? The people. The city was lost to time. Lost to war. To other civilizations. Yeah.
Speaker: But we had made a way for ourselves in the villages that you seem to have traveled through, though they were covered in darkness. So our hope is to go back and find what there is to restore and not lose our civilization in those villages as we did our great city.
Speaker: I would be up for helping rebuild the city for you guys. Really? We would be much grateful. Of course, Quinn. We're family. We got to help each other. And then I run over Craig's and I bend down. I don't.
Speaker: I bend down like a toddler. Hey there, buddy. Hey, bud. Stay too.
Speaker: Well, I guess I got to put this hammer to you somehow. ah Not so good. It's used for building, but I can hang around. She runs and jumps on him with a hug.
Speaker: I probably fall over. Yeah, because you're tiny. Got him. Got him! I'm pretty beat up at this point. Got him with the left But i I let out a laugh on the way down.
Speaker: I don't. I'm joking. Everyone laughs. Ha ha ha ha ha! And you look at the camera. And then we freeze frame. The words come on the screen. And the harmonica comes in.
Speaker: The end. The end. Of the hired swords campaign. Is upon us.
Speaker: Good job, everybody. Whatever ever happened to responsibility? It's going to show a of me saying that I graduated college.
Speaker: As the four hired swords who've gained their name from a group of hunters that were trying to aid Darnaldi in the very tasks that would lead to the removal of the cradles of magic that they have now just protected and returned.
Speaker: They've taken that name and changed what it means. And as they exit with Carrick the Caring, they walk through the tunnel that leads to the library where Carrick has done his work.
Speaker: And then through the small prayer chamber, no longer covered in vine, but back to its lovely state. They walk out into the middle of a courtyard where this tree is back to its temple form with lanterns hanging from the branches lit brightly so bright they can be seen in the daytime. they're surrounded by people coming and going.
