Bobbo: Merry Christmas season.
Mackenzie Forgacs: No, it's...
Bobbo: What the heck? yeah Let me cook. Why did you do that? Merry Christmas season. Bears and Lions, six and three, virtual handshake.
Bobbo: Let's dive right in.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Welcome back to Making Waves, an NFL confidence pool podcast. I'm your host, Mac.
Bobbo: And I'm your host, Bob.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And what was that little intro there, Bob?
Bobbo: Well, I was ready to cook and you you but of you know put a little bit of an X on that and we just forged on through, so I kind of liked it.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I think you skipped some cooking, most notably Thanksgiving cooking by by that intro.
Bobbo: Yeah. Yeah, well, honestly, in my mind, what's the date today? So tomorrow's the 13th. Okay, so it's the 27th.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Today's the 12th of November, so not even Thanksgiving yet.
Bobbo: So you can talk about Thanksgiving in like two weeks for like, I'll give you like three days, but I want Christmas for like 45 days. So yeah, I'm cooking and it's some chestnuts up over an open fire.
Mackenzie Forgacs: ae I strongly disagree. Here we are again, another year, same disagreement, same us. But what we can agree on is are both of our boys records, as you mentioned, both of our boys stayed pretty atop of the NFC North.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Not mad about that. I liked the virtual handshake as well. i'm giving you one right back.
Bobbo: Thank you. I'm giving one to you as well. Yeah, it's been seven years since the Bears have held a portion of first place in November.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Really?
Bobbo: Yes, 2018 was the last time the Bears made the playoffs yeah fully.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Seven years.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: I don't really count 2020 because that was a whole rigmarole, but we won the division in 2018. The year i moved to Chicago and we have not been in first place November or later since.
Bobbo: So i am
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: just I'll wait wait until we get to the Vikings-Bears game, but i am I'm thinking all crazy. I'm thinking all sorts of crazy thoughts after this last Sunday.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh boy. Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but I did see, you know, how have you ever seen on like social media or whatever, when They do like AI predictions for the rest of the season.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Have you ever seen anything like that?
Bobbo: Yes, and I don't know if I like where this is going.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I did see one today and it had obviously the list of like all the current rankings and the prediction for the rest of the season was that your boys were not actually going to make the playoffs. So that was interesting to me, but.
Bobbo: That's interesting. And AI, it's called artificial intelligence for a reason.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.
Bobbo: And that feels pretty artificial. Because as of now, my boys are six and three. And they've won six out of the last seven games.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That does feel pretty good. You know what we should do actually is we should pick against like AI one week or something like that. That'd actually be pretty clever.
Bobbo: Yeah. And you know what? We'd probably win because AI sucks.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, I actually think I agree with them on this one, but we'll get into that game a little bit later.
Bobbo: I'm going to cook until we get to that game.
Mackenzie Forgacs: okay Well, I'm going to be cooking up Thanksgiving because thanksgiving in turkey because it's still Thanksgiving season.
Bobbo: Well, we've got a couple weeks.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And you got way more than that for Christmas.
Bobbo: No.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes. oh But anyways, yes, everybody, welcome back. It is week 11 of the NFL season.
Bobbo: Yes.
Mackenzie Forgacs: It is, we are just flying through this season. I'm pretty sad about it, about how quick it's going.
Bobbo: I can't believe that we're officially past the halfway mark and we only have eight more weeks of NFL regular season, but on a, on a brighter note, we have eight more weeks of regular season and then playoffs.
Bobbo: So it's all,
Mackenzie Forgacs: You're right. Playoffs? There's something special about playoffs, isn't there?
Bobbo: there's something special about playoffs and especially knowing that my boys will be a part of it. It's just like this Christmas is going to be merry.
Mackenzie Forgacs: now
Bobbo: It's going to be bright.
Mackenzie Forgacs: i I do have a question for you.
Bobbo: Ben Johnson. Yes.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Talking about Christmas, it are you still planning on getting me that really nice present of taking me to the Super Bowl when the Lions make it this year? Or...
Bobbo: yeah, we did make a deal that if either of our teams make it, the other person has to so buy them a ticket. So I guess same question for you, but are you going to get me that super nice present when my boys make it?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, they have literally no shot this year, but so yes, definitely.
Bobbo: Oh,
Bobbo: that felt a little, a little crazy to say zero chance. We're we're six and three and we're beating big boys every weekend. It feels like big boys.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Big boys. Ooh.
Bobbo: We're beating big boys.
Mackenzie Forgacs: The New York Giants.
Bobbo: yeah
Mackenzie Forgacs: They're not there that big and bad just because their name is Giants, Bob.
Bobbo: I didn't even think of the whole Giants aspect, so very, very nice there. Nicely done.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Clever, right?
Bobbo: That was clever. I didn't even know that. They are big boys, literally and figuratively, but I'll save my cooking until we get to the Bears' line.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. All right. All right. Well, we will see. But yeah, anyways, I have no transitions today.
Bobbo: Hmm. Do want me to be the transition king today? Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Please. Yeah. Feel free.
Bobbo: Well, I know we've we've been away for a couple weeks. We're so happy to be back. And speaking about happy to be back, what do you what do you go to for the schedule again? Dang it.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, so...
Bobbo: Dang it. Is it yeah ESPN?
Mackenzie Forgacs: well so Yeah, I go to ESPN. Sorry. Sorry, y'all. We clearly did not come prepared. Bob's coming from basketball practice.
Bobbo: Yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: We just had a friend over for dinner. They're still here. And, you know, it's just it's just chaos right now.
Bobbo: chaos.
Mackenzie Forgacs: But but not Christmas chaos, not Christmas chaos.
Bobbo: It's chaos.
Mackenzie Forgacs: they They will be coming later.
Bobbo: Soon. That'll be coming up in a week or two. But speaking of chaos, are the New England...
Mackenzie Forgacs: Chaos. I think we need to go. what
Bobbo: Oh, was trying to transition, but then you kind of cut me off. i was I was kind of about to transition, and then you you kind of...
Mackenzie Forgacs: Sorry, please. You have the floor.
Bobbo: Thank you. Speaking of chaos, can you believe the New England Patriots eight and two number one seed in the AFC, and they, tomorrow night, are taking on The two and seven New York Jets.
Bobbo: Mac, what do you got?
Mackenzie Forgacs: You're right. They are taking on the New York Jets, but typically in our schedule, we first need to do the face-off. with our games that we disagree on.
Bobbo: Oh.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And this is not one of them. So if it's okay about you...
Bobbo: Yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Speaking of chaos, this episode is chaos.
Bobbo: We...
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: We are ready, folks. We are so ready to record tonight. This is awesome.
Mackenzie Forgacs: We are going to kick it off with the game that we're clearly already alluding to several times, the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears, in our first ever game of the face-off.
Mackenzie Forgacs: but but
Bobbo: I'm throwing fake punches.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So, as we've already said, we have two games tonight that we disagree on
Bobbo: Jab, jab, right hook. Jab, jab, right hook. Oh, sorry.
Mackenzie Forgacs: First and foremost, right hook, left hook, uppercut. First and foremost, the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears are playing interdivisional rivals. And then the other game is also some interdivisional rivals with the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs taking each other on.
Mackenzie Forgacs: on Sunday afternoon the latest slate so we're going to start with the Vikings Bears they play Sunday at one o'clock and we each have one minute to make our case and this Bob is one minute only I don't care if you're talking about the Bears we only want one minute from you and I'm going to start your time when you say go
Bobbo: Oh, come on. I'm not saying the word yet. If you're one of my fifth grade students, you would have hit it immediately when I said it. Okay, so question.
Bobbo: I get one minute to explain to you why. Sorry, I'm thinking things of things in my head. Why the Chiefs are going to beat the Broncos? Go.
Mackenzie Forgacs: First up is the bears.
Bobbo: Oh, we're doing the Bears-Vikings right now?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.
Bobbo: Oh, sorry. I misunderstood that. I was looking up stats. Okay. I'm ready to cook. Go. Wow. First off, start knowing to sit here at six and three. That means my math is correct.
Bobbo: We've won six out of our last seven. We're six and one in our last seven. I don't care we're beating the school for the blind. We're beating the teams that we're playing. We beat the commanders. We beat the Raiders on a blocked punt.
Bobbo: We are a blocked field goal. We beat the commanders on the last second field goal in the rain. We beat the Bengals on a last second, 20 seconds left touchdown. And we just beat the New York big boy giants with 17 seconds left.
Bobbo: We are a team right now that has always lost in my lifetime, close games. All of a sudden we flipped the script. We're the team finding ways to win. I was just looking up offensive rankings. We are currently the number three, count it three offense in football ahead of teams like the Detroit lions.
Bobbo: We are cooking on offense. We are firing at all cylinders. Ben Johnson is him. Caleb Johnson, nice list. Ben Johnson, nice list. Vikings also are trash. We're going to waltz in.
Bobbo: I get to finish my sentence. We're going to waltz in there, comma, beat the Vikings, comma.
Mackenzie Forgacs: No, no.
Bobbo: We're going down, comma. We're going up, period.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Can I ask a clarifying question?
Bobbo: Sure.
Mackenzie Forgacs: When you said that you are the number one offense in the league, three, and what is that stat based on?
Bobbo: Three.
Bobbo: Are you fact-checking me?
Mackenzie Forgacs: I'm just curious. Like when you said they're better than the Lions, I'm curious.
Bobbo: oh So yards per game, we're number three with 379.8 yards per game only behind the Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis and Indiana Jones Colts.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: When you look at points per game, we are averaging 26.6 points per game.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: And three four We're number eight in the league in that category. But we're talking about the Lions and the Vikings and the Vikings, or sorry, the Bears and the Vikings.
Bobbo: The Vikings are below us. And I rest my case.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. All right. No, I totally understand. Well, I was just curious what metrics you were going off of for the, like the, one of the best offices in the league.
Bobbo: No, thank you. that's That's definitely a good question. Oh, rushing yards per game, by the way, we're number two. I rest my case, folks.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: This is going to be an easy one. Okay, I'm going to start a timer for McKenz. She has one minute, not a second more.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Says the guy who went like 10 seconds over.
Bobbo: i
Bobbo: I want to remind you, you don't get a second more.
Mackenzie Forgacs: It's not my fault that you don't have the timer going, so i'm going to go ahead and start. The Minnesota Vikings are absolutely going to win this game this weekend.
Bobbo: What? What?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Number one, they're at home. Number two, Bob's talking about all the wins that they've had. Yes, sure, you beat the Giants, who lost Jackson Dart in the middle of it, who don't have Cam Scadaboo anymore.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So already a Giants team that was down, that was handedly beating you, that you ended up barely winning. The Bengals, who didn't have Joe Burrow, you ended up barely winning. The Ravens, with no Lamar Jackson, you guys lost, unfortunately.
Mackenzie Forgacs: These things are not huge, great wins, in my opinion. Vikings, on the other hand, J.J. McCarthy came out, and I saw him firsthand when they did beat my Lions at home, I might add.
Bobbo: Hey!
Mackenzie Forgacs: And the biggest reason why their defense, their blitz packages, their defense, the way that they hide it and they disguise the defense that they're going to do, they are going to be feasting on Caleb Williams.
Bobbo: Though,
Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't care what you say. The O-line is not there to protect him. He's not going to be able to read that like a veteran quarterback, comma.
Bobbo: as
Bobbo: way
Mackenzie Forgacs: And so I think that's going to be the problem, comma, is that your offense is going to struggle against that defense.
Bobbo: though
Mackenzie Forgacs: Boom. Oh, yeah.
Bobbo: as
Mackenzie Forgacs: And also, I still have my, this is not, this is not a continued thing.
Bobbo: Oh, whoa. Whoa.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I'm just saying I still have my four times that I get to choose the bears no matter what. And I actually am going to do it. I'm sorry this weekend.
Bobbo: As a fifth grade teacher, that was a run on sentence from 80 double hockey.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That last one wasn't part of the argument. That was just me, unfortunately, explaining to you that there is no argument.
Bobbo: I know that we made a deal, but going to a real biatch about this. I am. I am not.
Mackenzie Forgacs: There is no way.
Bobbo: Max.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Nope. I'm telling you right now, Bob, I'm sorry. There is literally no way.
Bobbo: I'm just going to have bears in there.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Do I think you might be the Vikings in Chicago? Maybe. This is not in Chicago.
Bobbo: We already lost to the Vikings in Chicago.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, well, there we go.
Bobbo: I was at that game. it was week one, but we owned that whole game.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, who could forget?
Bobbo: We owned that entire game until the end, but I i might just put in the bears and say, yep, Vikings are in there.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Bob. I'm being so serious right now. This is the one that I like actually really do need to lay my foot down on. I wanted the Ravens.
Mackenzie Forgacs: You tricked me when I was at Disney.
Bobbo: No.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes.
Bobbo: Marge action was ruled out. That was, that was very, that was a valuable information.
Mackenzie Forgacs: i I really strongly believe in the Vikings defense.
Bobbo: And it just so happened.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I'm sorry.
Bobbo: And I strongly believe in the third ranked offense in the entire NFL.
Mackenzie Forgacs: They're not, based on one statistic.
Bobbo: No, too.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh my God.
Bobbo: This, what if I sent you real dollars to pick the bears? Yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Real dollars? How many real dollars are we talking about?
Bobbo: Like our our what we would win if we won pick them for a week.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, hey deal.
Bobbo: Nah, don't like that deal anymore. Shoot. too So what if the Bears win?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Then I lost one of my four.
Bobbo: and are that our is that no How about this?
Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't i don't know.
Bobbo: If we, which fat chance we do this, but if we go Vikings, then...
Mackenzie Forgacs: We're going
Bobbo: and the Bears win against all of my my cries and my plea, and the Bears win, the the agreement is null and void, and you don't get to do any more the rest of year.
Bobbo: Well, you know what? Then I'm going to be over.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Why? Why would I give up the four games that I very handedly earned multiple times saying the Bears were not going to win and then they did it?
Bobbo: But now they have been a lot.
Mackenzie Forgacs: But they're not going to this weekend.
Bobbo: What makes you so sure?
Mackenzie Forgacs: I just have a feeling in my gut.
Bobbo: Yeah, well, you know what? That gut.
Mackenzie Forgacs: It's been pretty right this year. you You have to admit that.
Bobbo: No.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Some years, it's your gut. Some years, it's mine. This year, it's been mine. We got to admit that.
Bobbo: Yeah, but the Vikings are chopped cheese recently. They lost the Ravens.
Mackenzie Forgacs: With Lamar Jackson back, and they just, they beat the Lions. And I saw that game, the way they came in. That was, they were looking like a good team. I hate to admit it.
Bobbo: okay i I really, really was appalled when I was looking at your picks, and I was so happy. had a great day at school. it was a good basketball practice. I was smiling. do dodoo du-oo It's almost Christmas.
Bobbo: I opened up your text to look at your picks, and I was scanning, of course, thinking I was going to see Bears. And I saw Vikings at 9. Now, cheering for – or not cheering. I hope you're not cheering for the Vikings. That crazy.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, I'm not cheering for them.
Bobbo: Picking the – she's cheering for the Vikings. Picking the Vikings is one thing. It's absurd, but it's one thing. It's probably been a long week over there. get it. Maybe not thinking clearly, but going with them for nine, that's just, that was, that's malpractice.
Bobbo: That's, that's, that's malpractice.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, it's malpractice. Wait till we get into all the rest of the games this week, because there's a reason for it, because all the games this week are really freaking hard.
Bobbo: and Okay. Will,
Mackenzie Forgacs: And you will note that I didn't even choose my boys. So I'm just saying there's one of us that's willing to choose the the other team. And there's one of us that has proven time and time again that they will not.
Bobbo: You are going against the best team in the NFL in Philadelphia.
Mackenzie Forgacs: you
Bobbo: And you went.
Mackenzie Forgacs: would probably, I know you and you would still pick the Bears for like one.
Bobbo: No, no, I would not.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I know 100.
Bobbo: And you went for Eagles.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I would I would... if If that scenario happened and you didn't pick the Bears, I would give you everything in my bank account.
Bobbo: Great. I can't wait to
Mackenzie Forgacs: That's how confident I am that you would still put the Bears and you pin them at one. i I know it.
Bobbo: I can't wait to drain that bank account.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I know it beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Bobbo: And you're gaslighting me right now and I don't appreciate it. Let me cook. Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. Anyways, let's go ahead.
Bobbo: How about this?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Let's cook on to the next game.
Bobbo: Will...
Mackenzie Forgacs: We'll deal with this. Not even off air because it's already been dealt with.
Bobbo: This
Mackenzie Forgacs: We're going with Vikings. In my one, I've got three left.
Bobbo: this is your first one? Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes.
Bobbo: How about this? We'll deal with this off air and we'll continue on to our second game.
Mackenzie Forgacs: No. it's It's been dealt with. But, yes, we'll continue on our second game, which is the Broncos and the Chiefs.
Bobbo: Okay. Broncos chief and we'll do we'll deal with this one off air.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. al
Mackenzie Forgacs: I'll go ahead and start it if you'd like.
Bobbo: Okay. Let me start my timer. One second. Give me a second.
Bobbo: Give me a second.
Mackenzie Forgacs: No problem.
Bobbo: And good. Started.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, geez. Okay.
Bobbo: Oh.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Can you put it in the screen so I can see it?
Bobbo: Yep. You're at 10 seconds almost.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, come on. i get I get a couple extra seconds. All right. The reason i chose the Denver Broncos and I chose them pretty low, I chose them only at two, is because this game, again, in Denver, also interdivisional matchup,
Mackenzie Forgacs: Historically, the Chiefs have kind of owned the Broncos until last year, and the Broncos are an entirely different team this year.
Bobbo: Thank
Mackenzie Forgacs: They are a hard-hitting, fast-paced, strong defensive team, and I think that it's going to be a different type of Denver Broncos than what the Chiefs are used to. Don't get me wrong. I think the Chiefs have done a phenomenal job this year. I think they're also incredible team.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I just have feeling in in going for the historical underdog. I feel good about Denver. It's something in the gut, and I think they're gonna take it home at home because of how much they literally despise this team.
Bobbo: Bing.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And 10
Bobbo: Bing, bing, bing. Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: seconds early because the first 10 seconds of the count.
Bobbo: Oh, the first and second didn't count? you were You were talking. Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: No, I wasn't.
Bobbo: so Very solid points. Very solid points.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: I'll give you that.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And go.
Bobbo: When do I go? Oh, okay. I'm going right now.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep.
Bobbo: Okay. These seconds don't count. i Yeah, Broncos... have an eight and two record. They've been doing a great job and they've definitely surprised
Mackenzie Forgacs: Sure do.
Bobbo: a lot of folks with how well they've been playing, but they don't really pass my eye test.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Mm-hmm.
Bobbo: I do think they're a good team. I don't think they're as good as the Chiefs. Here's my reasons why. Their most recent wins against the Raiders, not a very good team, right? They beat them 10 to 7.
Bobbo: Against the Texans, not a very good team, 18 to 3.
Mackenzie Forgacs: True.
Bobbo: Against the Giants, pretty solid team. They beat them 33 to 32. Against the Bengals, yep, they slaughtered them. They beat the Colts. Or then they lost to the Colts and they beat the Titans by eight.
Bobbo: So they've only won one game by a significant margin. That game was against the Bengals without Joe Burrow. The first week he went down. So yeah, eight and two is impressive.
Bobbo: Bo Nix, not really doing it for me. The eye test, not really doing for me. Comma. I just think Patrick Mahomes, he does this thing in November. Kelsey's heating up. The whole team's heating up.
Bobbo: I got the chiefs in a really tight game.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: Thank you.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So, can I, am I allowed a rebuttal at all or Okay.
Bobbo: I didn't think so.
Mackenzie Forgacs: can i ask
Bobbo: i'd I'd love to hear your bottom line.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Can I ask a clarifying question?
Bobbo: Sure. you You like those tonight.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. yeah Two, yeah, two clarifying questions.
Bobbo: Two.
Mackenzie Forgacs: One, do you happen to know the record at home versus away?
Bobbo: For the Broncos?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Mm-hmm.
Bobbo: I could probably find it real quick. Away?
Mackenzie Forgacs: just I could just let you know. So at home, they're actually 5-0.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: They're undefeated at home this year. So that's part of it.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And then second clarifying question. So are you saying that beating teams by just a small margin indicates that the team is not as good as one might say?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Interesting.
Bobbo: I think it depends on the team you're talking about. For the Broncos, I think it's absolutely true. For a team, i don for another team,
Mackenzie Forgacs: Interesting. So the Broncos who are eight and two, it's indicative that they're not actually that good.
Bobbo: I think for them specifically, that's indicative. For a team like, I don't know, just randomly like the Chicago Bears, I don't think that's indicative at all, to be honest.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: So, yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Interesting. And can I ask, sorry, a followup clarifying question. what What makes the difference there?
Bobbo: Sure. Sure.
Bobbo: it's just the eye test. It's all about the eye test.
Mackenzie Forgacs: It's all about the eye test. Okay. All right.
Bobbo: It's all about the eye test and what are you doing? What have you done for me lately? And it's all about the eye test.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, my eye test is will say I agree that interdivisional games like this or like against the Raiders or teams like that where, you know, they're close games because they're interdivisional.
Bobbo: Yep.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I do think that that there is a case to be made that those games are much closer than maybe, say, a team playing somebody from a totally other division.
Bobbo: Yep.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So that kind of actually goes against what I was saying. And maybe I'd be willing to bring the Vikings down a little bit because it's interdivisional game. Anything can happen.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: With that said, though, I still think the better team wins in interdivisional. And to me, the eye test is pointing to the Broncos.
Bobbo: Okay. I mean, my eyes are 2020 just saying, I don't know. and know you sometimes wear the, I know you sometimes wear the blue light glasses.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Mine are as well.
Bobbo: I don't do that. So, so, but you know what?
Mackenzie Forgacs: and The blue light glasses. Zero prescription, actually, in it.
Bobbo: You, you, you sometimes wear those. So it's like, it's, It's all good over there.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I do sometimes wear those for the blue light.
Bobbo: So,
Mackenzie Forgacs: You're right. I do sometimes do that.
Bobbo: which is really good for your eyes, which would kind of be indicative that they might not be 2020. But anyways, you know, he said, she said, potato, potato, tomato, tomato.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Really? Okay.
Bobbo: I think the fair thing to do here is give me one game. I give you one game. So I'm happy to give you the Broncos.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, you can have the Chiefs then.
Bobbo: Happy to give you the Broncos. And we'll we'll chat about the other one off air.
Mackenzie Forgacs: No, you're you can take the Chiefs if you want them. We're for sure taking the Vikings, and I'm pretty confident in the Broncos, but if you want to lose us that point, then that's on you.
Bobbo: I'm really confident in the Chiefs, and I'm even more confident Bears.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, classic. Here we are at another standstill, Bob. Well,
Bobbo: Nice list, Robert. Naughty list. McKenzie, we're going.
Mackenzie Forgacs: oh, no way, no way. I'm definitely on the nice list.
Bobbo: All right. All right. We'll see what happens this Sunday, and we'll we'll come back next week, and we'll see who's naughty and who's nice.
Mackenzie Forgacs: and
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, we sure will. We'll have lots to say. think there have been a few times where all a sudden it's weird. Like you can't come the next week or something pops up and it's weird, but yeah, hopefully we'll be, hopefully we'll be here next week, but only if we'll probably only be here next week if the bears somehow pull out a win.
Bobbo: Yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So.
Bobbo: Yeah. so we'll definitely be here next week. and I can't wait to talk all about it. And speaking of things, I'm really excited to talk about nice transition.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, what great.
Bobbo: Thank you. Let's jump to tomorrow night and let's talk about a game that I don't think we're going take too much time talking about. We've got the jets in new England.
Bobbo: Mac, take us take us away here.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Great transition, Bob. And you know what?
Bobbo: Thank you.
Mackenzie Forgacs: It's nice because we're we're back on the same team again. We're we're done with the fighting.
Bobbo: We are.
Mackenzie Forgacs: The parents have, you can turn the volume back up because the parents have stopped the the arguing and the bickering and we're back on the same team.
Bobbo: Thank goodness for that.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And we both agree that the Patriots are going to win pretty handedly in New England.
Bobbo: Thank goodness.
Bobbo: Oh, yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: there's a This is the biggest spread that Vegas has predicted for the the entire week.
Bobbo: Oh, yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: New England, I think, is going to knock the Jets off their feet right from the jump. New England has been a team that has found their guy. And Drake May, he is a top five quarterback in the NFL, doing a phenomenal job.
Mackenzie Forgacs: No problem here Thursday night. Amazon Prime, thanks for sponsoring it. I've got them at 15.
Bobbo: Thank you.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Bob, you've got them, i believe, at 14. So pretty darn close.
Bobbo: yeah You know what? I see that we're already at 25 minutes here. We're on game number three. Yeah. I mean, I would truly bet my life savings that the Patriots win this game very handedly. So I got nothing else to add other than, yeah, this is going to be a high confidence for all of us tomorrow.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. Love it. Moving right along to Sunday. when a er No, not even 1 o'clock. This is a 9.30 a.m. game coming at you live from Madrid.
Mackenzie Forgacs: We have the Washington Commanders without Jaden Daniels. Sorry. And without a couple other guys that got suspended for punching some of my boys last Sunday.
Bobbo: Unbelievable. Unbelievable.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Playing the Miami Dolphins. 9.30 a.m. from Madrid, Spain. Who you got, Bob?
Bobbo: Yeah. If we would have rewinded the clocks one week from right this second, I would have said commanders for sure. And if we would have rewinded the week, the clocks back two weeks to before Jane Daniels got hurt, I would have said, hell yes, slam dunk Washington, but that's not the, the current state of the NFL or these two teams.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I was.
Bobbo: they're both three and seven, but they're feeling like a much different three and seven bills. Just spanked. Sorry. Dolphins just spanked the bills spanked them.
Mackenzie Forgacs: as
Bobbo: Silly. That game was never close. Pure domination. I think everyone was probably shocked by, and the,
Mackenzie Forgacs: i was
Bobbo: That was just the spanking of all spankings. And the Lions just, your boys, shout out your boys, just completely spanked the commander. So one of these teams just gave the spanking. The other team took the spanking.
Bobbo: And this game is in Madrid, so neither team is home. But I just am going to go with the hot hand here. Dolphins might have figured something out. That offense was clicking. That defense was holding Josh Allen and co.
Bobbo: down. If they can hold Josh Allen and co. down like that. I'm thinking they're going to have no problem holding down Marcus Mariota and co. So I've got the commanders pretty handedly.
Bobbo: And let me pull up my text. I've got them.
Mackenzie Forgacs: You've actually got the Dolphins, sorry.
Bobbo: Sorry. Yep. Thank you. I've got the dolphins pretty handedly. it doesn't show on my my confidence. I've got them at four, but that's a strong four.
Bobbo: That's a strong four.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. I like it. Yeah, I'm right there with you Also a little bit lower just because with these teams, especially being an international game, you really never know it could happen. But I agree. Dolphins, I think you're going to take home this dub. And I've got them at three.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So pretty darn close.
Bobbo: Amazing. Well, we're pretty close on that. So we're pretty close on the first two games. That leads us to another game that we're pretty close on.
Mackenzie Forgacs: OK.
Bobbo: It is your home state, Carolina Panthers at, very close to your home state, the Atlanta Falcons.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Well,
Bobbo: what what's you What you got, McKenz? Man, I'm a transition.
Mackenzie Forgacs: well Speaking of trajectories, you were just talking about that in Miami in the Washington game, right? One of them kind of seems to be going down.
Bobbo: Nothing.
Mackenzie Forgacs: The other kind of seems to be going up. I think that's the case here for another interdivisional game. Is that, are they? They're not all interdivisional. There's a lot of interdivisional games this week. Wow.
Bobbo: You know what?
Mackenzie Forgacs: It's going to be a big weekend. No wonder why it's so hard.
Bobbo: that There is a lot.
Mackenzie Forgacs: The Panthers, they kind of had this like burst of really good couple of weeks and have surprised a lot of people, beat the Bills. They came out of nowhere. And I still think that they're a pretty solid team, definitely way better than anybody thought.
Mackenzie Forgacs: But I feel like they have kind of plateaued and maybe have started going back down a little bit on the other end. Whereas the Falcons, I think they're slowly revving up.
Mackenzie Forgacs: into a better and better team each week. So it's all about trajectory. It's all about momentum. I think right now that lies with the Falcons. I'm not super duper confident in this. I still have it very low, but I have the Falcons at four.
Bobbo: Almost ding, ding, ding. I think we alluded ding, ding, ding this week. I got the Falcons at five. Really good talk on the trajectories, up, down, momentum.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, it's all about physics, you know?
Bobbo: That's all. but It's all about physics. It's all about physics. We're not learning that in the fifth grade, but physics is super important. I've got the Falcons for four for many of those same reasons.
Bobbo: And I just think the eye test and it being in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta will be the difference. I think they have more playmakers with Bijan, Pitts, London. So I also have got the the Falcons.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. And you actually have them at five. I have them at four. You've got them at five.
Bobbo: Yes. Okay. Did I say four?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfect.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I think so, but that's okay. No worries. Very close.
Bobbo: Classic me. Classic me.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Regardless.
Bobbo: And speaking of classic, the Houston Texans recently have been playing a little bit more classic of what we expected this year.
Mackenzie Forgacs: What?
Bobbo: They've won a couple in a row, and they are traveling to another division opponent. I skipped a game. Let's rewind it.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Hey.
Bobbo: We've got Baker Mayfield. He's playing pretty good ball. He's in Buffalo against Josh Allen. I think this is my game to start off. This is a tough game because...
Mackenzie Forgacs: Mm-hmm, very.
Bobbo: Both teams are coming off a tough loss. Tampa Bay just lost to the Patriots and the bills, as we just talked about, just lost to the dolphins. So this is like a game that both teams need a dub.
Bobbo: Both teams are still in the playoff spot, but all of a sudden the bills are looking up at the Patriots two games. And Tampa Bay is all of a sudden looking down like, Ooh, we've got some teams kind of nipping at our toes a little bit. So the differentiator, great word.
Bobbo: Thank you.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, great word.
Bobbo: in this game is that it's in Buffalo. Buffalo! so and he calls it it's going to be cold in Buffalo.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Really?
Bobbo: We just got a lot of – yeah, I'm assuming we just got four inches of snow in Chicago. Thought there was going to be a snow day. Didn't have one. But it's going to be cold in Buffalo. It's not cold in Tampa Bay where Baker and Co. plays.
Bobbo: That was the main decider for me is that it's home and that's a rowdy place to play, which is why I have the Bills at a – it's not Halloween anymore, but this is still spooky.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Spooky!
Bobbo: I got the bills at eight, which is scary because the bucks are a good team.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
Bobbo: We do have a ding, ding, ding, ding.
Mackenzie Forgacs: We do have a ding, ding, ding. I also have the bills. i also have them, Miss Gary High 8. And I agree with everything you said. Couldn't have said it better myself, my friend.
Bobbo: Wow. look Look at us. And if you don't have anything else to add, do you want me to just transition to the game? I already transitioned to.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Please, yeah, let's reel it back forward. You were already...
Bobbo: So we're wheeling it back forward.
Mackenzie Forgacs: and not road
Bobbo: oop o That just landed in the water. So we've got the Texans traveling to, almost said Houston, traveling to Nashville, Tennessee to take on those Titans.
Bobbo: Mac, what you got?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, honestly, think the only thing that I hesitated about this is I know CJ Stroud's been hurt. He's still questionable.
Bobbo: Yep.
Mackenzie Forgacs: If he doesn't play, I believe Davis Mills is the backup, still has done a great job as a backup quarterback. I think there should be no problem there. I paused for about 0.5 seconds in this, and then I remembered that the Titans are 1-8, and then I stopped pausing and I just went with it.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I think the Texans should have no problem. If they have CJ Stroud back, we could even probably bump him up a little bit. I have them right now at 10 for – for Only that reads slight reasoning of potentially CJ Stroud may or may not play. But regardless, clearly I still have have a lot of confidence because I've got them at double digits.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And I believe you are right there next to me at 11.
Bobbo: Okay.
Bobbo: I am right there. And actually you're just a true professional, don't know how you held it together there, but, yes.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Bob's chatting me on the side. And if you watched our Halloween episode, you would know that the Sanderson sisters are a bunch of biatches.
Bobbo: was just talking about the standards.
Bobbo: There are a bunch of biases. I wanted to remind Mac and she, she held it together. Definitely saw the message. So she's just that the epitome of, of of a professional. I need to be more like that.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, no, no, I think it's great to to be a little less professional from time to time.
Bobbo: Well, I appreciate that. Sometimes you got to be professional all day. You just want to roll the sleeves up, kick the feet up and just, you know, just be a little less professional, which is what the Houston Texans have been doing the last couple of weeks.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Absolutely.
Bobbo: They've been going about their business, whether it's Stroud or Mills, Mills played last week and they beat the Jags. So even if it is Mills again, i like the Texans for sure. And I am right up there with Mac, as she just said, I've got them at 11.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: So we are both, Very, very confident in Houston to march into Nashville and get a dub.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Houston, we don't have a problem this weekend.
Bobbo: that I see what you did there. Very nice. Speaking of very nice, the Green Bay Packers losing on Monday, that was yummy.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Very nice.
Bobbo: That that was delish. And we've we've got the two-in-a-row loss Packers, which that's just chef's kiss.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Not mad about that.
Bobbo: Not mad about that chef's kiss. They're looking up in the standings at... Yours to truly here. Your two favorite hosts of your favorite podcast. And they are playing.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, yeah, baby. love to see Love to see them in third.
Bobbo: airport Yeah, baby.
Mackenzie Forgacs: They can just keep on sliding, honestly.
Bobbo: Love to see them in third. Just keep on sliding down that sledding hill towards the North Pole, baby. And we've got them.
Mackenzie Forgacs: But and unfortunately, what do we got them for this weekend? Because unfortunately, I think they're not sliding.
Bobbo: Well, we've got them. Well, we don't think they are, but hopefully, and I know Eli hopes the same thing, they'll be sliding after they leave downtown New York City because they're playing the team that the Bears just came back and beat.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Mmm.
Bobbo: The New York football Giants, who, little nugget, just fired their coach, Brian Dayball, on Monday. So they're coachless right now.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Did they? Wow, breaking news.
Bobbo: They did.
Mackenzie Forgacs: i actually did not know that.
Bobbo: Breaking news. And Eli, shouts out Eli. We were texting throughout the game, of course. And I was like, yeah, good win, brother. You got it. And he said, oh, no, you don't know the Giants are going to blow it. And he he knew his team better than I apparently know my own.
Bobbo: And then after the game, he said, Day Bowl needs to go. And then Day Bowl went the next day. So, Eli, I hope that's a little bit of solace in a season full of injuries and losses that you'll get a new coach.
Bobbo: And Jackson Dart looks great. But I – I, uh, digress.
Mackenzie Forgacs: we we actually We actually lost you there for a minute, Bob, I think.
Bobbo: Unfortunately.
Mackenzie Forgacs: so
Bobbo: that was such a good point too. What, where'd you lose me?
Mackenzie Forgacs: We just heard you say, Eli, hope you can take a little solace. And then I think we lost you.
Bobbo: Hope you take a little solace in the fact that Jackson darts. Great. you have a new coach coming in and there's some excitement, you know, coming your way next year in 2026 fingers crossed making waves is sending good vibes your way.
Bobbo: Unfortunately for this game, for us, Eli and Giants fans, we don't think there's going lot of good vibes of Packers. Even though they've lost a couple games in a row, is Dart going to play? Probably not. So it's going to Russell Wilson against the Packers and Micah Parsons.
Bobbo: That spells trouble, which is why I've unfortunately got the Packers for a scary high twelve
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah. Oof, it's tough.
Bobbo: do
Mackenzie Forgacs: It's a tough week for sure. It's always tough when we have to pick them high. We don't feel too, too bad when we end up, if they end up losing. So it's kind of like a win-win. Either we get the points or the Packers lose. So that's always makes me feel a little bit better when we put them high. But I agree. Unfortunately, I think the Giants, I think they are building for their future.
Mackenzie Forgacs: The future is not now. So Packers, I've got them also for, unfortunately, really high uh 14.
Bobbo: Oh, I didn't like that one.
Mackenzie Forgacs: sorry you did it
Bobbo: That kind of felt like it was, I was on another tab with, I was on another tablet in the next game and I was going transition it That felt like you were actually throwing up. yeah that Nicely done though.
Bobbo: Nicely done. That was, uh, that was, well, you know what?
Mackenzie Forgacs: i think we lost you again bob i'm not gonna lie sorry
Bobbo: I was just talking about your, your dry heave, but something, and I just had such a good transition. Oh, you said, you said the future is bright. Unfortunately, unfortunately,
Mackenzie Forgacs: Uh, yes, the future is bright. But the future is not now, is what I said, yeah.
Bobbo: The future is not bright now, but a couple places where the future might not be as bright quarterback-wise because their quarterbacks are both in their 40s. We've got the Bengals and Joe Flacco traveling to Pittsburgh to take on Aaron Rodgers.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Rogers.
Bobbo: Mac, what got?
Mackenzie Forgacs: We sure do. So, yes, we do have this battle of these older quarterbacks, seasoned veterans, if you will. Somehow the Steelers, they always end up Mike Tomlin. He finds a way to always have his teams at at least 500. And they're doing that now. They have a winning record. They're five and four.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And they're going to be at home this weekend. They have a pretty solid defense backing up. Aaron Rodgers, who now is more of, in my opinion, a game manager than anything, but he's got a lot of great experience. I have to give him kudos for that and able to get his playmakers the ball.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And they have some good playmakers, right? They've got DK Metcalf out there, Jalen Warren in the backfield. They've got some good playmakers and they do enough to get the job done. I don't think they're the most exciting team.
Mackenzie Forgacs: The most fun team to watch. I don't really watch them, to be honest, but they always do enough to get the job done. think they're going to do that at home, especially against a banged up Bengals team and banged up Bengals.
Bobbo: Oh, wow.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And yeah, we've got, we both got the Steelers.
Bobbo: That's bars cook.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I've got them actually, unfortunately, also really high. I've got them for double digits. I've got them for 13. Or not.
Bobbo: Yeah, that is scary. Cause Bengals are not a bad team. They've got Jamar chase. They've got yeah, they've got chase Brown.
Mackenzie Forgacs: not
Mackenzie Forgacs: T Higgins.
Bobbo: they've got a lot of chases on their team. Jamar Chase, Chase Brown. Interesting. That just hit me.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Interesting.
Bobbo: Very, very interesting. I don't have them quite as high. I got them at nine just because I know Heinz or whatever the heck their stadium's called now.
Mackenzie Forgacs: but
Bobbo: It's called, it's now called Akraher Stadium.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Acresure.
Bobbo: No, it's Heinz. We're going to call it Heinz on this podcast because we make the rules, right?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, sure, sure do.
Bobbo: So at Heinz Field on Sunday, I think, I mean, that's just going to be a bloodbath. AFC North, November, chilly weather. Joe Flacco, Aaron Rodgers. Unfortunately, Aaron Rodgers takes the cake for me. The defense, Steelers for sure takes the cake over the Bengals, which is why I've got Steelers at nine.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. I like it. And yeah, definitely willing to look at going a little bit lower because again, this week is tough. It's hard.
Bobbo: this This week is tough, and moving on right to another game that's tough, the last game of the 12 o'clock Central Standard, 1 o'clock Eastern Standard. We've got the Los Angeles Chargers playing East Coast against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and this is a tough game because Los Angeles, like I said, plays in Los Angeles, which who would have thought that?
Bobbo: Crazy, I know. Los Angeles Chargers play in Los Angeles. They also just played a Sunday night football game against said Steelers. They are traveling as far as you possibly can in the continental U S I think you Jacksonville for early game, which is 9.00 AM local time. So I think I know teams are traveling to Germany now in London and Madrid.
Bobbo: Shout out Madrid, by the way, I just saw the stadium's name. I got it. I wanted to put this in the podcast. Santiago Bernabeu. So they're playing Santiago Bernabeu stadium. Kind cool. I just wanted to just shout that out, but yeah, the chargers are playing 9am home.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That is pretty cool.
Bobbo: And I know these guys are professionals and they're the best in the world. And it's like, Oh, jet lag doesn't exist. I think jet lag kind of does exist. especially when you had a game on Sunday night. So all that to say, i am still choosing, choosing the chargers.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I was wondering where you were going with that because I have the paper in front of me that you're still going chargers.
Bobbo: Yeah, sometimes I like to just make points against myself to really keep the wave riders on their toes.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, I love it.
Bobbo: You like that?
Mackenzie Forgacs: I love it. Keep things spicy.
Bobbo: Thank you. Keep things spicy. Let's not keep them spicy literally, but figuratively, let's keep them spicy.
Mackenzie Forgacs: We could. We could do another spice challenge.
Bobbo: Well, Blyans play the Bears next month, and we're for sure going to do a challenge. I think we should do spice, but that's neither here nor another air shake. doing it right now, folks. Good deal. I've got the Chargers. They're seven and three.
Bobbo: They looked awesome against the Steelers Sunday night. I watched that whole game. I was in a group chat with a bunch of teachers talking about how we were hoping we got a snow day because it said up to a foot of snow in Chicago. Pfft.
Bobbo: meteorologist wrong again but i was sitting in a great mood and i was locked in on the game chargers looked awesome jags had meltdown against the texans on sunday they had massive lead davis mills came in and stole it from them which is a tough look so that's why i've got the chargers beating the jet lag and beating the jags at a confidence level of seven seven seven
Mackenzie Forgacs: so Okay, sounds good. Yeah, that was a that a good explanation.
Bobbo: I've talked for a long time.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Good explanation there. Yeah, for sure. That was good.
Bobbo: Yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I also agree. I also think the Chargers going win. I have them at six.
Bobbo: That was also a good explanation.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I got nothing more to add.
Bobbo: I like it.
Mackenzie Forgacs: You did such a good job. You covered it all.
Bobbo: Thank you. Well, speaking of a game that you'll cover and, you know, explanations needed, are jumping to the afternoon window, but there's something else that's needed before you add detail to this game.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I want the transition back. I want the transitions back.
Bobbo: It's, of course, our first ad of our first November episode of the season. Matt, kick it away.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Is it my ad or is it your ad?
Bobbo: Oh, no, it's yours. It's yours, certainly.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Does it have to be?
Bobbo: no it's As the transition king, it's yours. Enjoy.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okie dokie. I am looking around the room and this NFL Confidence Pool podcast is brought to you by Canon Printer Street.
Bobbo: Oh, what the?
Bobbo: What the?
Bobbo: Oh, he did again.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Ready to launch a Canon?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Or are you ready to press print? Anything your office needs and when you're heading into warfare. Sign up for Canon.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Sign up for Canon printers. Easy access. Print Bluetooth straight from your laptop. Anything you need to take on the work day.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Buy your Canon printer at Staples.com. Office Depot. I almost said Home Depot. Office Depot or Walmart today. $29.99 plus $40 for a pack of two inks.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Canon printers, watch out.
Bobbo: Have you lost your damn mind? What? Did you just say the printer was $29.99 and it was $40 for two inks? The printer is almost just half the cost of the ink?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, well, in my defense, ink is really expensive. But yes, the printer probably should have been at least double.
Bobbo: Okay.
Bobbo: Oh, I also couldn't believe it when you did the second one. i was like, there's no chance he does another one. And I saw you putting air in your mouth. I'm like, no, she's, and you did another damn one.
Bobbo: You did three.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I did like three or four.
Bobbo: He's the people who listen to this episode, which I think, I think we've got at least a couple that still listen are going to be like, it's still good. I think you gave us five big booms. That was awesome.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't know don't know where I was going with that.
Bobbo: I was,
Mackenzie Forgacs: I am- I literally have no idea.
Bobbo: Also, connecting printing to warfare was, i i see where you went there with the credit.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Warfare in the office?
Bobbo: I missed that because I was still thinking about how many booms were happening in my my my my area here. Oh, Mac, that was...
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, there's so much more I Do you ever think back and like think, like oh, there's more I could have done? like I could have really riffed on like the office being a place of warfare and like you need to come prepared with all...
Bobbo: Yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: yeah there could have been more, but...
Bobbo: Yeah. You could have.
Mackenzie Forgacs: i loved it I left a lot to be desired there, but...
Bobbo: and
Bobbo: And if you think I've never sat in bed after one of my ads and thought, yeah, I could have done that differently. Yeah, I've done that a couple of times, just a couple, just a few.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh my goodness.
Bobbo: Oh, Mac, that was good. that was That was one of my faves of recent memory. And speaking of recent memory, that was great.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I even know what happened. Oh my God.
Bobbo: That what i was really good. Speaking of recent memory, and speaking of pretty good, two teams that are absolutely killing it right now.
Mackenzie Forgacs: oh
Bobbo: 7-2 Seahawks traveling to L.A. to take on the 7-2 L.A. Rams. This is going to be a doozy.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.
Bobbo: Mac, what do you got?
Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't even know what to say about this game. Other than if you could tune into a game this weekend, I think this is the one to tune into.
Bobbo: Ooh, yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: These are two absolute powerhouse teams. The NFC West is chef's kiss. They're doing a phenomenal job out there.
Bobbo: Yep.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Super just high-powered offense, super strong defenses. I mean, just all of their play is just it's just so good. And so I feel like this game is going to be a really, really good game. It's an interdivisional matchup. We've got two teams that are 7-2. They are very high.
Mackenzie Forgacs: vying a hundred percent in in very strongly in the running for that number one seed of NFC West. This could be a determining game for who wins that.
Mackenzie Forgacs: As we get later in the season, these interdivisional matchups are going to be so crucial to win in order to determine who gets that extra edge if there's like a tie record or something like that at the end of the season. So this could potentially help determine which team wins first place in that division.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And so it's just going be such a great game.
Bobbo: hundred yeah
Mackenzie Forgacs: There's so much to look forward to. I honestly had a hard time picking just because both of these teams are so good. In the end, i leaned towards the Los Angeles Rams for a couple reasons. One, it is obviously at home for them. So I just think naturally that already gives an advantage Number two, I think the Seahawks' biggest reason for why they are such a good team is their defense.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And Matthew Stafford, he has a way of dissecting defenses. That offense is just so hungry, so strong. I think the edge goes to them.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Nom, nom, nom.
Bobbo: I'm hungry.
Mackenzie Forgacs: They're ready to feast. The edge just goes to them ever so slightly. so I've got the Rams. I've got them at also scary high of five because this week is so hard.
Mackenzie Forgacs: But if if you're going tune into one game, tune tune into this one.
Bobbo: Yep.
Bobbo: Whoa, that was a loud clap. Wow.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Pow.
Bobbo: Yeah. Cannon printers ready for war zone in the office.
Bobbo: i agree with everything you said and we, Yeah, have multiple games left, and I've talked a lot with a lot of games. Yeah, I think this is the best game of the weekend. I just think the differentiator is it's in Los Angeles and Los Angeles.
Bobbo: Oh, yeah, Los Angeles. What are am I talking about?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, Los Angeles, yeah.
Bobbo: yeah Yeah, Los Angeles. Rams are playing great ball. It feels like Matt is firing on all cylinders, and those wide receivers, Devontae and Puka, are such a good one-two punch. I think they're going to little too much for Seattle to handle. So, yeah, I got the Rams, and I've got them one away from you at six.
Bobbo: So we'll see what happens, folks, and hopefully we're right because this is a game that can also shift our chance to win the Buko Bucs.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Awesome.
Bobbo: I could see a lot of people picking the Seahawks. So we shall see. But jumping to the next game, I think this is going to be an easy one.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. Jumping in.
Bobbo: And most people in our confidence pool are not going to be picking the other team that we're picking here. We're going with the Niners, and they play the Cardinals in Arizona at 3.05.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Mm-hmm.
Bobbo: Yeah, this is my third highest. I have the Niners at 13. Arizona is just chopped cheese. They're not a good team. I cannot believe the line is only two and a half.
Bobbo: Cause even if they're on their third string quarterback, and even if it's Mac Jones, I don't care if it's Brock Purdy. I don't care if it's, you know, the backup punter, the Niners are going to be the Cardinals.
Bobbo: know Jacoby Brissett is starting for the Cardinals. yeah, the Cardinals is one of those teams that like they're three and six. Uh, they just lost the Seahawks by a hundred. they did beat the Cowboys the weekend before, Monday night, but before that they lost to the Titans. They lost to the Packers. They lost the Colts. They lost to the seed that they've lost a lot of games.
Bobbo: So I've got the Niners and I've got them for 13 because they are good and the Cardinals are not. And that's just my, that's my simple math. My football math on that one.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. I love it. Yeah. And egg on my face, pants on my ankles for this one a little bit. I actually did forget that Kyler Maru is out and I just checked and it looks like Brock Purdy could possibly be back for the 49ers. So that's a double whammy.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I picked them also, but I only picked him at seven. I would absolutely be willing to bump that up to double digits. I know, yeah, like you said, the Cardinals are are way beyond.
Mackenzie Forgacs: To be honest, they're they're kind of so stinky. I haven't really been paying attention to them. That should have been an indication for me. So, yeah, fine moving that up. But either way, we both have Niners.
Bobbo: Amazing. Nine, or you have not you had the Niners for nine, you said?
Mackenzie Forgacs: At the Niners, I actually only had them for seven.
Bobbo: Oh, I don't know why I heard nine there.
Mackenzie Forgacs: But Niners, also the Niners...
Bobbo: I that could definitely be a team. Niners for nine.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Fully, fully let's bump that up.
Bobbo: Look at that.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Like I'm saying right now for sure, let's bump that up so we can move some other scary ones that we have a harder time on down.
Bobbo: Okay, good. That's going to make room for games like this. Actually, that's not a very good transition. This is another game that we both have a team high, and I don't think there's going to be any bumping with this one.
Mackenzie Forgacs: We do.
Bobbo: We got the Ravens and Lamar traveling to the Cleveland Browns. What you got here, Mac?
Mackenzie Forgacs: we Sure do. So, yep, we've got Lamar back in the Ravens. Their back is against the wall. They lost several in a row to start the season. I think it was like five or something in a row. They were just losing, losing, losing.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And then they ended up beating... A couple teams now, they've they've now got three wins in a row ever since they unfortunately defeated a team from Chicago.
Bobbo: Hey.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And they are they're a little bit on the up and up.
Bobbo: a
Mackenzie Forgacs: Because their back is against the wall, they cannot lose. They literally cannot lose. They will not lose this game. Interdivisional goes both ways. Even as the team that's on the higher end, obviously the Browns want to come and play spoiler. They don't have much else to play with, but because of the Ravens also still have so much to play for, they're not goingnna lose this game.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't think I need to say too, too much more about it. The Ravens are coming back and I've got them at a very high of 12, but not as high as you. Wow.
Bobbo: Do I have them? I just put my phone down. It's about to die. do i have them at 15?
Mackenzie Forgacs: You do have them at 15. Wow.
Bobbo: My highest confidence of the week.
Mackenzie Forgacs: This is your highest confidence game.
Bobbo: And you know what?
Mackenzie Forgacs: You're sticking to it.
Bobbo: I'm not even going to double think. I'm not even going to double think that. I feel confident with 15. I feel confident with a hundo. I feel confident with my bank account, my social security number being leaked. I feel confident that the Ravens are win that game. I'm going leave it at that.
Bobbo: Go Ravens. Go Lamar. Don't mess with us. Moving on to... Son, Max is like, oh my gosh, social security number?
Mackenzie Forgacs: I love it. Yeah.
Bobbo: i was kind of cooking there.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Go, go.
Bobbo: Go Bobby, it's your birthday. Hey, hey, I'm going to put my social security number out today.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Mm, mm, mm. Go, Bobby.
Bobbo: We're moving this.
Mackenzie Forgacs: It's your birthday.
Bobbo: yeah
Mackenzie Forgacs: Go, Bobby.
Bobbo: Hey.
Mackenzie Forgacs: It's your birthday.
Bobbo: Oh, it's my birthday. I'm turning 33. Don't make me bite off your knee.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Hey.
Bobbo: Dan Campbell, he stinks. Dan Campbell, he stinks. He's weaker than weak.
Mackenzie Forgacs: What?
Bobbo: Yay, don't make me...
Mackenzie Forgacs: Whoa, OK, OK. Do I need to mute you, sir?
Bobbo: No, don't. Sorry. Sorry. i Speaking of Dan Campbell, what a transition. We're moving to, I've been waiting all day for Sunday night. Whoa.
Bobbo: Carrie Underwood. Shout out. Thanks for joining us real quick. You can take off now. Appreciate Carrie. We got the Lions traveling to Philadelphia. Oh, did we already talk about this one?
Mackenzie Forgacs: No.
Bobbo: Oh, because you did choose the Eagles as well. We agree on the Eagles in this one. So I don't think there's much to say, Matt.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, because have a good head on my shoulders, right, Bob?
Bobbo: You can have like careful and Mac, you can have like 10 seconds. Cause we agree on this one. There's not much to say, but yeah, we get the lines going into the Eagles. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Mac, what do you have to say about this one?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Easy peasy. This is your game, actually. But is that what you have to say is that it's easy peasy?
Bobbo: Oh, perfect. I'm going to make this one nice and quick. We got the Eagles who Superbowl champs last year, they've been beating the big boys. and yeah, they just went into green Bay into the bitter cold of the bitter North and the, the bitter gridiron. And they, yeah, they held the Packers to seven points. Uh,
Bobbo: They won that game 10 to seven. Eagles are now, I believe seven and two. So yeah, they've, they've figured it out. lions are kind of like limping a little bit right now.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Excuse you, Limpin!
Bobbo: they lost, they lost. Oh, I didn't, I didn't sneeze or cough. Sorry. You must've misheard.
Mackenzie Forgacs: just absolutely spanked the commanders, but okay.
Bobbo: but No need, no need to excuse me. I didn't stutter.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, what?
Bobbo: yeah, they, uh, we have, my we have hundreds of miles between us folks. That's why I'm so confident.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, you're lucky.
Bobbo: Uh,
Mackenzie Forgacs: You lucky son of a god.
Bobbo: yeah, they, you know, they went, they lost at home to the Vikings, which is like a little bit of a interesting loss. And then, yeah, they went into Washington and they, they got the dub, but it's a team where I feel like a lot of NFL insiders and, and, uh, pros or, or, what do you call someone that really knows the NFL?
Bobbo: Like, uh, an NFL expert.
Mackenzie Forgacs: An analyst expert.
Bobbo: Analysts, yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.
Bobbo: I'd say a lot of analysts and NFL experts like me and my co-hosts and people like, you know, the ESPN countdown people and, you know, all the fantasy folks would agree. The Lions are a team kind of looking for its identity right now.
Bobbo: Are they good?
Mackenzie Forgacs: What?
Bobbo: Are they meh?
Mackenzie Forgacs: What do you mean they're looking for their identity?
Bobbo: All right.
Mackenzie Forgacs: We're six and three.
Bobbo: Should I give you the mic or am I still going?
Mackenzie Forgacs: ahead. I thought you were going to be quick.
Bobbo: So it's a team that's kind of like, are they looking for are they like are they looking for their identity folks or what? Eagles, they know their identity.
Mackenzie Forgacs: No.
Bobbo: That's why I've got the Eagles. I've got them marching all night, and I've got them at a really strong one.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Looking for our identity. Give me a freaking break. We're currently winning our division, Bob. so And we're not tied. We have the tie break. so Just saying.
Bobbo: attack Tied.
Mackenzie Forgacs: We're not. We have the tie break. If we started playoffs today, the Lions would be in first. so
Bobbo: and Let me look at the standings real quick. You can keep chatting.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I'm looking right now. NFC, we're the third seed as of right now behind the Eagles and the Seahawks.
Bobbo: Keep it.
Bobbo: But let me look at the
Mackenzie Forgacs: Anyways, despite all of that, I will say despite all that absolute nonsense you just spewed, we are a great team. We know our identity. We are freaking winners, baby.
Mackenzie Forgacs: But the Eagles are also big-time winners. I think the Eagles are probably the number one seed in the NFC this year. They have been... Just continuing to roll the same way that they rolled their way to a Super Bowl ring last year.
Mackenzie Forgacs: not saying it's going to happen again because obviously we're going knock them out the playoffs when we make it there. But this time at home, Sunday night, we do have lot to prove. And I do think it's going to be actually very, very close.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Could go either way. Big T. You're going down.
Bobbo: Oh,
Mackenzie Forgacs: But in all actuality, I had to go with my head here instead of my heart because I am the only one who does that on this podcast. And i went with the Eagles also just for one.
Bobbo: okay. So d ding, ding, ding.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Because when we lose, because ding, ding, ding, because when we lose that one point, I'm not going to be sad.
Bobbo: Well, know what? Ding, ding, ding. di li ming ding And also, let's take it easy on Big T. He tore his Achilles. He's still on the up and up. So no need to, you know.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, Big T. I think Big T's okay with how the Eagles have been playing.
Bobbo: Okay, he's he's probably okay. probably okay. And just side note, and then I'll i'll yeah stop chatting about my team. If we beat the Vikings, you guys lose to the Eagles. laooo doo do do do do do
Mackenzie Forgacs: Then you will be in first. You're right.
Bobbo: And we'll then we'll actually have, we won't just be tied for first. We'll be in first ourselves. So with that being said,
Mackenzie Forgacs: You're not tied for first. We're we're still winning.
Bobbo: Speaking of by themselves, there's one game on Monday night.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Speaking of by themselves, one of us is by themselves and has not yet done an ad. So think it's time for the second word from our sponsors.
Bobbo: Oh, man, I had no idea.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Sorry, I snatched that transition from you.
Bobbo: You did. i had no idea that I was going to be doing an ad. Today's second ad on top Canon printers.
Bobbo: We have Clorox. Squirt, squirt. Clorox, Clorox. C-O-L-O-X. C-L-O-R-L-O-X, Clorox. Do-do-do-do-do-do-clorox.
Bobbo: In the classroom, you need Clorox. Student throws up, it's Clorox. Student spills something, it's Clorox. Student draws on their desk, it's Clorox for the win.
Bobbo: If you don't have Clorox, what are you going to do? If you don't have Clorox, you better get some brand new shoes. Clorox.
Bobbo: Sponsoring classrooms, gyms, bedrooms, and other things for so many years. Clorox. What would you do without us? Yellow Oro-X.
Bobbo: Clorox. Disinfecting cleaner. Kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria. Perfect for COVID season, flu season, and all other seasons. Put one in your bathroom and your classroom.
Bobbo: Two for $19.99. Three for $27.99. $27.99. three for twenty seven ninety nine Four for $41.26. when he said Get them at your local Walgreens.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I think that might have been the longest ad we've ever had.
Bobbo: Mac just sent me one, two, three, four, five messages saying he's still going, still going, still going.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Still going,
Bobbo: also I was also staring directly at ch Clorox and I spelled it wrong. It said C-O-L.
Bobbo: Also, why did say bathroom, bedroom, classroom, gym?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Hey, I don't know. i mean, you're not wrong. All of those things you could you could use Clorox in. Bedroom a little less so maybe, but I don't know, top of your dresser or I don't know.
Bobbo: Oh, see?
Bobbo: Yeah, there could be some dust around.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Nightstand.
Bobbo: he could Yeah, you could use it for some certain things. Maybe on the TV. See? You
Mackenzie Forgacs: TV. Oh.
Bobbo: could use it in the bed.
Mackenzie Forgacs: little Little Clorox on the TV.
Bobbo: Absolutely. So... Yeah, this is a perfect example of, yes, I do occasionally think back on ads later on and think, yeah, that stunk. I could have said a lot of different things. This will be one of them.
Bobbo: I'm going to transition right along.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That is great, Bob. That is great.
Bobbo: That made that Canon one look and sound like a million bucks. So kudos to you, Mac.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't know. You at least have jingles in songs. Those are pretty good.
Bobbo: Yeah, well, it does it's good until it makes no sense. So we were having a battle of the ads. This one was a one-two knockout punch to Mac. Congrats on that one, Mac.
Bobbo: And we'll do we'll do a poll.
Mackenzie Forgacs: i don't know.
Bobbo: Maybe we'll do a poll one of these days and let the people follow us on Instagram who listen to our podcast say what co-host won the ad, and then we'll we'll let the wave riders divide.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. Let the people decide.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Ooh, that's a good one. That's good one.
Bobbo: I like it. Maybe I'll maybe i'll put that up. i haven't put many Instagram stories up, aka zero this year.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. Me either.
Bobbo: And speaking of zero this year, the Raiders, they have zero chance to win the Super Bowl. And they're hosting the Dallas Cowboys at home on Monday night.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Good one.
Bobbo: Nice transition. Mac, bring us home.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, yes, this is my game. Sorry, I actually thought it thought was your game.
Bobbo: That's it.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So I wasn't prepared, but there's not really much that I can say other than, agreed, zero chance for the Las Vegas Raiders. They have not to really been having a very strong season. I think they will have two wins.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep, two wins, seven losses. Oof. That is brutal for them.
Bobbo: in
Mackenzie Forgacs: Geno Smith, he left his home in Seattle. He's gone down to the desert, and it has not been kind to him. I thought he was a pretty solid quarterback.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Unfortunately, it's just it's just been a tough, tough year for Geno. They haven't been able to figure it out. Las Vegas Raiders, I don't think, are going to start figuring it out anytime soon. On the other hand, we have the three and five Cowboys, not a great team either, but in general, when you look at the weapons and who is going to be able to make something happen, despite it being a way for them, I think going to be the Cowboys led by Dak.
Mackenzie Forgacs: He's still got CD. He's got a couple other folks who, who's the running back for the main running back, Javante Williams.
Bobbo: Javante Williams.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That's your right. So, I mean, they've still got some strong, strong contenders for good players and, I think the Cowboys get it done away in Las Vegas this weekend. I've got them at 11, and you are very close behind 10.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So pretty confident game for us.
Bobbo: Okay. Yeah, I don't really need to say much other than me and Mac are just so excited for the holiday season. We're so excited for
Mackenzie Forgacs: Thanksgiving for sure.
Bobbo: Yeah, that is part of the holiday season. it's as it's a small It's a small speck of the the holiday season, in my opinion. But, hey, it's each his own. But we're excited to be back for the season of giving. The Raiders won't be giving many things on Monday, which is why I have the Cowboys so high. But this is always a great time of year.
Bobbo: Christmas chaos will be coming, certainly, at some point. A very fun head-to-head bet. when the Lions-Bears play next month will be coming, and hopefully Bucco Bucs celebration next week and a little bit little bit of booty kissing after the Bears win and maybe you know bet that's just null and void on your end.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Fingers crossed.
Bobbo: But one can hope, right?
Mackenzie Forgacs: We shall see, won't we, Bob?
Bobbo: what We're certainly going to see, Mac. Once again, shout out to Cannon and Clorox. Wave riders, we love you. We'll see you next week. Peace.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Peace.
Bobbo: so
Bobbo: Go Bears.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Alliance.
Bobbo: Go Bears. Go Bears.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Alliance.
