Bobbo: Well, folks, I guess you could say this is the double whammy. No bears and bean boozled. Let's dive right in.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Welcome back to Making Whips, an NFL confidence pool podcast. I am your host, Mac.
Bobbo: And i am your other host, Bob.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And we have been through several weeks now of the playoffs, several, aka two, a couple weeks of the playoffs. We've had wildcard round. We've had the divisional round. We are now moving on to the conference championships. Only four teams remain. Who will make it to the big dance?
Mackenzie Forgacs: find out our predictions and more on this episode. um And yeah, definitely you will also hear about a little game called Beamboozled, which Bob already gave a brief introduction to, so we will jump into that, dive into that here shortly.
Bobbo: Ooh.
Mackenzie Forgacs: But I just want to check in real quick, wellness check on my co-host. How are we doing?
Bobbo: Well, we're doing a lot better than we were on Sunday night and certainly Monday and Monday morning and afternoon and night. um It's been it's been a little bit of a depressing week. um But you know what?
Bobbo: i've i've I've turned my mind away from the heartbreak that was overtime on Sunday night um into the jubilation that was the end of regulation and
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: I'm thinking about all that we accomplished, the division championship, beating the Packers twice, knocking them out of the playoffs, winning our first playoff game since 2010, um and you know the things the things ahead of us.
Bobbo: they say the They say the front window is larger than the rearview mirror for a reason. Look forward, not backwards. We're looking forward.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, I've never actually heard that. Who is they that says that?
Bobbo: um Jelly Roll said that at his acceptance speech to Comeback Artist of the Year. and he said it really...
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, I like that.
Bobbo: Yeah, the the front and window is larger than the rearview mirror for a reason. So um I'm choosing...
Mackenzie Forgacs: I like that. I'm going to use that and and just really just try to integrate that motto into my life. So I love that.
Bobbo: You know what? You should. I'm getting a tattoo this weekend that says just that. um
Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfect.
Bobbo: Chicago Bears. The front window is larger than the rearview mirror for a reason. Look forward, not behind.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfect. Love it. Can't wait to see a pic of that tat once you get that tatted up.
Bobbo: Yep.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Please send it my way. But yeah, no, I think that's great. I wanted to come in here and, and you know, at first I was going try and pick up your spirits by talking about just that, all the positives you guys had and everything.
Bobbo: Thank you.
Mackenzie Forgacs: But I also remember being in a very similar situation and it is not very fun to get texts and calls saying, you know what? Ah, you should be so proud. They did great because Yes, that's all great and fine and dandy, but it also really sucks when they lose. So I was just going to come in here and say, you know what?
Mackenzie Forgacs: If you're feeling bummed, I don't blame you. And I'm sorry about the loss.
Bobbo: You know, i appreciate the McKenns. Sometimes you just need someone to say, you know, I'm here for you.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That's not.
Bobbo: Feel the way you feel. You don't always need. Sometimes I fall into the trap of wanting to say, hey, keep your head up. But you know what? Sometimes you just need a, you know, feel feel the feels. I get it.
Bobbo: So your texts were were great.
Mackenzie Forgacs: For sure.
Bobbo: My phone was blowing up on Sunday night. Some nice, some not.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I believe that's...
Bobbo: Exactly. So it's really nice to just have a supportive best pal who is saying, feel how you feel. So all that to say, that was you know Chicago is a little darker this week.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Hey, happy to do it.
Bobbo: It's negative 30 tomorrow. No school. whoop whoop um But the last month has been...
Mackenzie Forgacs: Whoop, can we get...
Bobbo: Weekend, yes. Long weekend, so that's exciting. The last month has been really exciting and bright and fun in Chicago, and this week it felt like a family member had passed um with no bears. But we're looking forward. We're not looking back. We're proud of our boys, and you know it's going to be a fun 2026 for the both of us, I think.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Absolutely. And yep, that front window, it's pretty big. So I'm glad you can but you can go with that.
Bobbo: Exactly. Windshield. that's That's what it's called. I was trying to think of the name.
Mackenzie Forgacs: What?
Bobbo: I just think Front Window.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, the windshield.
Bobbo: Windshield.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobbo: Yes. Yes.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Great. I love it. So is that what your tattoo is going to say? Windshield is bigger than the rear view or front window? Okay.
Bobbo: i think I'm going to stick with Front Window because I said it like five times in the podcast already. we're going to go with Front Window. is ah
Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfect.
Bobbo: It's bigger than the the rear view for a reason.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Amazing. Love it. Okay, great. That is perfect. And we've got some teams that are really looking in the rear view right now with the coaching carousel.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Obviously, last time we talked with you all, there were some big adjustments right after the regular season ended. But since then, and since the playoffs have kicked off, some teams that have now lost the playoffs have also parted ways with their head coach.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So they're really looking forward at that front window and saying, see ya to the boys standing on the side of the road, waving, saying goodbye.
Bobbo: Yep.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And those two really big names that have been adjusted since the last time we spoke was Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He actually was not fired. He chose to step down. I imagine he was kind of nudged out very gently in that way.
Mackenzie Forgacs: He had a super career with the Steelers. He never went good juicy nugget for you. I think we've said it a couple of times on this podcast, but he never went below 500. So that means every season he coached, he coached a team that won more than they lost. That's incredible stat.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Great career for him, wherever he lands, there's going to a lucky team. And then second on that, another huge big shocker, Sean McDermott of the Buffalo Bills. When they ended up losing this past weekend, he was let go and will no longer be with the Bills, which is crazy. He has been with them for nine years, it looks like. So, I mean, just just another insane firing.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I guess I get it. They never made it to to the big stage of the Super Bowl, but... Still, to have all those wins and all of those years going to the playoffs and everything, i don't know. It's tough to see.
Bobbo: its ah Yeah, those are a couple big ones on top of Harbaugh, of course, which he has found a new home.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Right. Yep.
Bobbo: i don't know if we've talked about that.
Mackenzie Forgacs: We have not. Yeah, let's tell the people just how excited our dear friend Eli Yoder is.
Bobbo: Yes, Harbaugh was quickly snatched up after he was inexplicably fired by Baltimore um on the heels of, no pun intended, on the heels of a missed kick from Tyler Luke to send him packing for the season.
Bobbo: But yeah, of course, he was...
Mackenzie Forgacs: Mm-hmm. sure.
Bobbo: He was snagged within a couple days. I'm sure GMs all over the league couldn't believe that he was available, one of the best football coaches in um America, certainly, and probably the world.
Bobbo: And the New York football Giants might have their guy. So shout out, Eli. Shout out, Giants Nation. They've got a lot of good stepping stones and pieces with Jackson Dart and Cam Scadaboo and Malik Neighbors. And now they've got a coach to... ah see if it he can lead them in the correct direction. So that's another team that's certainly looking in the front window.
Bobbo: Um, instead of the rearview mirror. So yeah, he found a new job, but yeah, McDermott fired Tomlin, probably pushed out gently. And these teams gotta be careful because lot of, a lot of these, these owners are probably thinking the grass is greener, but Hey folks, the grass ain't always greener. I can tell you from, ah from a bears standpoint, the grass definitely ain't always greener after we let go Lovie Smith for about a decade and a half.
Bobbo: And I'm sure you could say the same after your lines got sick of losing or sorry, sick of winning, nine and 10 games a year with with Caldwell, then you were kind of in the pooper for a while. So grass ain't always greener, folks.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep. It ain't. A lot of times you have to go through some tough years before things get better. So who knows? Some of these coaches, I'm sure, have found some long-term homes, but some of them, I imagine, will be short-lived tenures.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So we will see.
Bobbo: We have to agree. We shall see, folks.
Mackenzie Forgacs: We shall. So yes, last time we were on air, it was right before wildcard weekend. And as you all know, Bob bob and I do like a little ah bracket, if you will, against one another. um Before that wildcard weekend, though, we did have another bet going for a Bears-Lions game, the last game of the regular season.
Bobbo: yeah
Mackenzie Forgacs: And not to fully bring it up and kick a man while he's down. But as you all know, there was, we talked about the the loser was going to have to eat a little something on this podcast.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So throughout this podcast, Bob is going to be participating in a little game sponsored by ah Jelly Beans, right?
Bobbo: Shut up, Jellybean.
Mackenzie Forgacs: and it's called Bean Boozled. So there are a bunch of flavors in a bag and you may be able to describe this a little bit better, Bob, because you're seeing it. But from my understanding, there's two jelly beans and one could be a fruity flavor and the other could be a horrible flavor, but they look the exact same. Is that, am I explaining that correctly?
Bobbo: You are split explaining it correct um to a T. So first off, I have a bone to pick with Jellybean. Bean Boozled, on their website, every store that carries Jellybeans apparently has Bean Boozled.
Bobbo: They had me running all around freaking town trying to find it, and it ain't anywhere. So I needed to order these custom to suffer through it, and it's not cheap either. So Jellybean, yeah, I had to.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Go to order them online. Hey,
Bobbo: There was no place that had them.
Mackenzie Forgacs: the commitment. I love the commitment.
Bobbo: At this point with negative 30 degree weather, the cold plunge, I'll have to find a way to do that strategically for getting the the toilet bowl in our fantasy because I ain't doing that in Chicago now. um But
Mackenzie Forgacs: You better not this week or next week, but maybe after when it gets a little warm.
Bobbo: maybe maybe when there's a little ah fool's spring, some random 50 degree day, I'll do it.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, we you don't want you getting hypothermia for losing things.
Bobbo: But
Bobbo: I don't want to die. So I appreciate that you also don't want that and hope the rest of the Fam's Tea League won't as well. But long story short, Jelly Bean will never be a sponsor on this channel because they have false advertising. But I digress. So Bean Boozled, the way it works is there's 20 different flavors. I'm looking at them now.
Bobbo: So each Jelly Bean, so I'll hold up two for Mac right now. So there's two exactly similar green-looking Jelly Beans. And it says on the back of the packaging...
Bobbo: One is booger and one is juicy pear. And you don't know until eat it. So here's the, I'm go do a really quick run through of the 20. We've got dirty dishwater or birthday cake.
Bobbo: We've got stinky socks or tutti frutti. We've got so skunk spray or licorice. Talk about lose-lose.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, God.
Bobbo: We've got canned dog food or chocolate pudding.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.
Bobbo: Ugh! We've got booger juicy pear. We've got stink bug. Are you kidding me? Stink bug or toasted marshmallow. We've got spoiled milk or coconut.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh my god.
Bobbo: Rotten egg or buttered popcorn. Another. i'm going to stay away from the yellow creamy looking one. We've got barf or peach. and We've got dead fish or strawry strawberry banana smoothie. Well, who made these?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Dead fish? Are you kidding me?
Bobbo: That's disgusting. um Burnt rubber or licorice. Interesting. Okay. Wet dog or top banana. Toothpaste or berry blue. I'm good with toothpaste. That seems okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: that's not bad.
Bobbo: up
Mackenzie Forgacs: Minty? Not bad.
Bobbo: Yeah. um We've got liver and onions or cappuccino. Old bandage or pomegranate.
Mackenzie Forgacs: What? What does old bandage taste like?
Bobbo: That's absolutely disgusting. Okay, and that's all of them. Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. So I believe you you had said you counted earlier and there was like 20 different ones. So the way this is going to work, what's that?
Bobbo: a I can't do the barf. I cannot the barf. Thank you.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That's fine. So the way this is going to work is throughout this podcast, there's 20 different options in Bob's package. He only has to do 10. We're allowing him to do 10.
Mackenzie Forgacs: He gets to pick his 10 that he does because, I mean, the only one that's maybe okay is the toothpaste. All the other ones are horrible. So you get to pick your 10, Bob.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And what he's going to do is he's going to pull out two of the same color. So let's just say he picks the barf and the pear or whatever.
Bobbo: Can I do one right now? There's two. oh oh
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, so we'll do it it we'll we'll do one right now. He's got two of them. He's got a 50-50 shot. He just has to eat one of the two, and he's going to let us know what he's tasting, and he's going to do that 10 times. Okay?
Mackenzie Forgacs: So best bet.
Bobbo: Yay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So what what do we have here? we have Is this the pear and the...
Bobbo: This is, no, definitely not starting with pear and booger.
Mackenzie Forgacs: so
Bobbo: this is This is a pink one with like little, like it almost looks like like splotches of paint.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, boogerling.
Bobbo: like Someone took rainbow paint splotched it on it like a canvas.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: This is Stinky Sock or Tutti Frutti.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right.
Bobbo: I want to be Tutti Frutti so bad.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. Let's see. So just pick one and just eat.
Bobbo: Hey, I'm choosing this one. God, be ever in my favor, please.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. looks so nervous. All right. It's in. It's in, folks. He's chewing.
Bobbo: That is most definitely Tutti Frutti, baby.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, okay. So starting off strong.
Bobbo: Oh.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So he's got two different, now he's done. He doesn't need to eat the stinky sock that can go to the side, but he's got nine more, nine more where he's got to pick correct.
Bobbo: I got it. Put that back in.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So there's a chance you could go 10 for 10 and eat all fruit. I'm thinking the odds are small of that, but who knows?
Bobbo: so Okay, so I guess we just hop in, let them know about um the score for what we currently have. and and And then anytime you say, because you got nine, and this will be a quick podcast.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Absolutely.
Bobbo: So I'm guessing it'll be probably right around 30 minutes, maybe even less because we got two games. So whenever you say Jellybean, I have to pick two and do it.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep.
Bobbo: Okay, we've got nine more.
Mackenzie Forgacs: You got it. That sounds good. So yeah, as Bob mentioned, so that was the bet to end the regular season. We now have a bet going for this um bracket that we do for the playoffs.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And the loser of that is going to have to eat only vegetables for a day. So depending on whoever wins, they will have to just choose a day and they can only eat vegetables all day long.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So
Bobbo: Still healthy of us.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, I know. So healthy. Bob suggested oranges at one point, and that would really suck. But also I think i would, my mouth would be so cut up by the end of it.
Bobbo: We don't need the canker sores.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Right?
Bobbo: The reason I thought of that, because Eli had to do apples one time, and i was like, what's you which is crazy, yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Honestly, it's good.
Bobbo: And sorry.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, I'm just gonna say, I'm saying worse if you just pick one thing that you have to eat all day, at least with vegetables, you could switch it up. Like, it's really not a horrible bet.
Bobbo: Yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I'll be craving probably some like protein. But other than that.
Bobbo: Protein will be craved for sure. um And with my luck, if I lose, there's going to be like so awesome treats in the Staff Depot that I'm not going to able touch because they're not I just have to stuff them in my drawer and get them the next day.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, geez. Yeah.
Bobbo: But um I came in with a big lead this weekend.
Mackenzie Forgacs: yeah
Bobbo: Unfortunately, Matt got a couple that I did not. So she is one point ahead of me with three games to go.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep.
Bobbo: But there's a lot of points, folks.
Mackenzie Forgacs: A lot of points left to be had.
Bobbo: lot points.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So wildcard weekend, it was one through six confidences. And those were the points associated with each of the games. Bob came out of week one wildcard weekend with a five point lead.
Mackenzie Forgacs: The divisional round, we doubled up. So divisional round was worth two, four, six and eight. I came out of the divisional round with six points. So that obviously gives me a plus one lead ah over Bob. So going into conference championship weekend, they will be worth three and six because there are two games. And then the Superbowl will be worth four points. So ah lots left to be earned and definitely can take a very big shift. So we shall see.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And actually, hold on, I guess we're within one.
Bobbo: We
Mackenzie Forgacs: So if we do three and three and six this week, then there would be no way for the person who is losing to win because there's no way we could be within four points. So I think Super Bowl is to have to be worth more.
Bobbo: well we can double it to eight.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, let's do that. Let's double it to eight because then it keeps it.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: The Super Bowl is still worth something.
Bobbo: I like that. okay
Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfect.
Bobbo: Eight it is for the Super Bowl.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, love it. So real quick run through for wild card weekend Bob do you just want to give ah the teams that moved on to the divisional round and then we'll give an update from there and then move into who's in the conference championship.
Bobbo: Yes, sure. Saturday, one good game, one bad game. Sunday, ah it was the same. um On Saturday afternoon, the Broncos moved on in incredible fashion.
Bobbo: i was but bittersweet for them, but they... um
Mackenzie Forgacs: Wait, sorry. while We haven't talked since wildcard weekend. So first we got to say who won wildcard weekend.
Bobbo: Oh, wild card weekend. Okay, let pull it up real quick.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Here, I'll go through that, and then, yeah, you go through the divisional round. So we had the Rams at Carolina Panthers.
Bobbo: Okay. Actually, sorry.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That was actually a really good game. The Panthers, I thought they were going to get smoked. They ended up making it very, very close. The Rams snuck through 34-31 to make it to the divisional round.
Mackenzie Forgacs: We had Green Bay at Chicago, and we loved to see it. The Bears beat the Packers 31-27.
Bobbo: Yes.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Very close games. I actually saw a stat.
Bobbo: Yes.
Mackenzie Forgacs: that by the game on Saturday, it was the Philadelphia-San Francisco game on Saturday. So it was the second game, or I'm sorry, on Sunday. it was the second game on Sunday, fourth game of the weekend.
Mackenzie Forgacs: By that game, this year had set the record for the most favorite fourth quarter changes, lead changes of all time in the NFL.
Mackenzie Forgacs: This was only by the fourth game. There were still two more games to be had, which is insane.
Bobbo: That's crazy.
Mackenzie Forgacs: again
Bobbo: That's a nugget. That's juicy.
Mackenzie Forgacs: why The games truly were wild, wild card weekend. I loved it. It was amazing.
Bobbo: That's juicy.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Um, But yes, sorry, so Chicago snuck through. Buffalo-Jacksonville, another very close game, obviously.
Bobbo: Yes!
Mackenzie Forgacs: The Bills won 27-24, knocked out the Jags. We had the 49ers at Eagles. The 49ers beat the Eagles by four points, 23-19.
Mackenzie Forgacs: This was the game. The next two games were not exactly close. We had the Chargers at Patriots. Patriots won handedly. And then Monday night, Texans at Steelers.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Texans won by 24 points, which is just in.
Bobbo: Yikes.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So moving on to the divisional round, we had still Buffalo, Denver, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, New England, l LA Rams, and Chicago. So why don't you tell the people
Bobbo: Yay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Bob.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Actually, I'm so sorry, Jelly Bean first.
Bobbo: ah wow Okay. Smart. Smart. I don't want to dip to do like eight at the last second.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Right.
Bobbo: Okay. These are definitely the same two. They're brown.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, what are we you working with here?
Bobbo: Poop or poop? Just kidding. Canned dog food or chocolate pudding?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh my, the canned dog food is disgusting. Okay. I'm hoping, hey, no sniffing. No, no, that's cheating. That's cheating.
Bobbo: okay I'm going to go with this one.
Mackenzie Forgacs: He's smelling them. Okay. All right, folks, it's in his mouth. He's chewing. What is he doing?
Bobbo: Oh, my God.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh my God, he's got the bad one. He's definitely got the bad one. He is off the screen. We don't know where he is at the moment. um
Bobbo: Dang it.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Is it the canned dog food?
Bobbo: That was legitimately disgusting. That tasted like I had canned dog food in my... got yeah guy Yes, that was disgusting.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Are you serious?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, man.
Bobbo: a i
Mackenzie Forgacs: It's almost like you want to eat another one to get it out with like a fruity one. Oh, he's gagging.
Bobbo: yeah Sorry, I'm thinking about thinking get about it.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Are you actually gagging?
Bobbo: I have barf.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: yeah yeah Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. All right.
Bobbo: Should I do another one?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Good. Yeah, let's do one more. Let's get to three.
Bobbo: Okay. Oh, my God. i don't want to get a booger. what i'm not going to grab that one yet. Okay. Okay. This one is either ah Wet Dog or what or Top Banana.
Mackenzie Forgacs: He's sticking with the dogs here.
Bobbo: Oh, i don't want I don't want to get Wet Dog.
Mackenzie Forgacs: we got wet dog or banana.
Bobbo: I see Summit. I feel like there's a bad omen.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Someone's right here. She's watching.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right.
Bobbo: Nice banana. Nice banana.
Mackenzie Forgacs: banana Okay.
Bobbo: Nice banana.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. So you wiped out the canned food. Wow. two for three Two out of three. yeah So there you go.
Bobbo: out three. The odds are my favor.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: All right.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I'm making note. You've done three. um I've got a little tally going. So.
Bobbo: Thank you. Three at a time. Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Divisional round.
Bobbo: So, Broncos beat the Bills crazy fashion. They lost Bo Nix at the end of the game, so they're heading on. But at what cost? They have their backup quarterback, Jared Stidham, starting the game for them, hasn't grown a pass. Juicy Nugget. Way juicier than that dog food.
Bobbo: Dog food jelly bean. He hasn't thrown a pass in two full NFL seasons. I saw a stat that their running back RJ Harvey's thrown more. Cortland Sutton's thrown more NFL passes. Probably on some weird roundabout wide receiver running back throw. Jared Stidham is now starting in the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots who moved on in a crazy game against the Texans. There was a million turnovers that game.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh my God, it was wild.
Bobbo: Drake May and the Tex... Yeah, that was an insane game. Drake May and the Patriots prevailed at home. CJ Strout had like 1,000 interceptions. um So in Denver, ah the Patriots are going to be favored by a lot because they beat the Bills, but they lost Knicks at the end of the game, which was crazy. um NFC Saturday night, the Seattle Seahawks absolutely mopped to the floor with um the Niners forty one to six which is scary hell.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That was the biggest spanking of like all time, I feel like, in the playoffs. That's absurd.
Bobbo: Divisional round, which is the winner goes to the championship game. The team should not be losing by 35. I watched that because the Bears were playing the next day and we had to play the winner that with a win.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.
Bobbo: I was crapping my pants. That's the only thing I'm thinking about is like we don't have to get embarrassed by a team in Seattle now.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, 100%. Yeah. that
Mackenzie Forgacs: yeah
Bobbo: So they looked unbeatable on Saturday night against the Niners.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Andrea.
Bobbo: And then unfortunately on Sunday night, we know what happened. It was a classic of a game, but um my boys magical season came to an end and the Rams moved on. So we got Rams going to Seattle and the Patriots going to Denver.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. Love it. Perfect setup for us to talk about our picks for the week. But before, let's go ahead and do a jelly bean and get you to four.
Bobbo: Okay. Now you're on a good pace. You're really on a good pace. Um, Okay, what do we got? what ah Should I do green? There's so many green. going to do green.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: Okay, this one looks like...
Bobbo: Okay, juicy pear or booger.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Hey, I mean, of the ones booger, I feel like is not horrible of some of those.
Bobbo: Do you eat your boogers?
Mackenzie Forgacs: i don't, but I'm just saying of all of the ones on that pack, like that's better than barf.
Bobbo: yeah
Bobbo: I know, but it's not your own booger that this is. This is like... like
Mackenzie Forgacs: It's not a real booger though.
Bobbo: gonna taste like one though, I bet. Yeah, I've been sticking with the one in my left hand. I'm going to stick with that. It's done me well.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. All right.
Bobbo: I'm going to do it real quick. ive yeah
Mackenzie Forgacs: There you go. and
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh my God. That was a real gag.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Are you okay?
Bobbo: Okay. Okay. That.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Are you all right?
Bobbo: Oh my God.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That was a legitimate gag.
Bobbo: oh Okay. Okay. First off, whose job... Okay, sorry. That really... ah My eyes are watering. i don't want to throw up. Okay.
Bobbo: Whose job is it to sit and try jelly beans until it tastes like a booger?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Does it actually taste like a booger or do they just taste nasty?
Bobbo: Hey.
Bobbo: No, that tastes... Okay, don't want to talk about... That tasted like a booger.
Mackenzie Forgacs: is It tastes like you're eating somebody else's booger straight from your mouth.
Bobbo: No, stop. Please, please, sweet please, please. Oh, my God. That was so disgusting. Right when I bit into it, it was like a half second for my taste buds to grab it, and it tasted like a effing booger.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Like one of your kids like picked their nose and gave it you to eat.
Bobbo: Tom, stop, please. Oh, my Mac, I'm actually going to throw up. Oh, my God. Barf. i can't I can't give myself a chance to do barf because I actually have sweaty palms.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. All right.
Bobbo: Okay. Jelly beans, that's effed up.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right.
Bobbo: Whoever has to taste test, worst job in the world.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, my God. Okay. So moving on to the conference championship, as Bob very kindly set up for us, I'll give you a minute here.
Bobbo: oh
Mackenzie Forgacs: First up, ah at 3 o'clock on Sunday, we have the New England Patriots traveling to Denver, as Bob mentioned, the end of last game. It got sent to OT against the Bills.
Mackenzie Forgacs: It was a phenomenal game. On, like, the third-to-last play, Nix broke his ankle. Or it might have even been the last play. i don't know. I've seen mixed mixed articles on it. But either way, he broke his ankle. He is now out for the weekend or for the rest of the season, obviously two weeks or whatever left.
Mackenzie Forgacs: He had surgery and we have Jarrett Stidham, the backup quarterback, who will be starting the game on Sunday for the Denver Broncos. um With this...
Mackenzie Forgacs: I guess I'll just go ahead and say my pick. And then of course, Bob, please feel free to say yours. I am going to be going with the New England Patriots.
Bobbo: All right.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't know if that's much of a surprise. I know that is in Denver. um I know that Denver's defense is very solid. However, with all of the turnovers that they just, that New England's defense just created against a a pretty good quarterback in CJ Strout, I think they're going to no problem doing that against a backup quarterback in Denver.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I have a couple of friends that are Denver fans. I was talking to one of them and and she said, it doesn't really matter because Bo Nix is not a whole team is basically what she said.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And I was like, okay, you you might be kidding yourself a little bit. That's fine. I was like, yes, that's true. He's not your whole team.
Bobbo: Might be.
Mackenzie Forgacs: But your quarterback is a very important position starting fresh at this point in the season. Not ideal. I would not wish it upon my worst enemy. So I'm going to England and I think they're going to the Super Bowl this year.
Bobbo: So what what confidence level?
Mackenzie Forgacs: one That's my most confident. So I have them at six.
Bobbo: You know what? I'm going to agree. Sorry, I'm over here thinking about Jelly Bean Booger. um I did not, not going lie, did not hear most of what you just said, just because that was...
Mackenzie Forgacs: Hey, no worries. No worries.
Bobbo: um Yeah, i I did hear you said at the end. Don't kid yourself, Denver. ah Quarterback is a very important position. Quarterback wins the MVP every single year for a reason because they're the most important person on the field.
Bobbo: Yeah.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.
Bobbo: And a guy that hasn't thrown a pass in two years, I don't care how good your defense is. I don't care how good your home field advantage is. um Drake May is going to be runner-up, I'm assuming. It's either going to runner-up or MVP. So when you've one quarterback that's MVP level and one who hasn't thrown a pass in two years, yeah, that's a difference. So I also am going Patriots with my most confident. So we are aligned on that.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Love that. Perfect. And why don't you go ahead, Bob, with that, give us a five and a six jelly bean for me.
Bobbo: Oh, my gosh. This woman is an absolute menace, folks. Okay. I'm going be strategic now. Okay. This is strawberry banana smoothie or dead fish.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, my. I really hope you don't get dead fish. Okay. He ate it.
Bobbo: No.
Bobbo: No.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And what is it?
Bobbo: That's not dead fish for sure, but that's not a good smoothie at all.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. All right. Hey, better than dead fish.
Bobbo: Oh, great.
Bobbo: That tastes like buttered popcorn.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, maybe it's popcorn one.
Bobbo: Oh, it was either buttered popcorn or rotten egg. That was buttered popcorn.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. You'll take it. All right.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: popcorn All right. Let's go ahead and let's do the dead fish one now.
Bobbo: I'm going to cheat code on this one. I'm going to do toothpaste or berry blue. I eat toothpaste all the time.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. All right. You, you, needed you didn't want to save that for,
Bobbo: That's toothpaste. I don't mind it at all.
Mackenzie Forgacs: you didn't want to save that for after a really bad one.
Bobbo: ah
Bobbo: I didn't think of that.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. Two good ones. You've actually had four, you've had four good ones and only two bad. Wow.
Bobbo: lot of six. i I like that.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Wow.
Bobbo: I like that. Okay. So we're cruising along. um And just to give myself a little break, Mac, now that we're halfway through the picks for the week, do you mind giving us a a sponsored ad for ah our first sponsored ad, if you don't mind?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh my God. I can't believe this. i should have been prepared.
Bobbo: Can't believe you're not prepared.
Mackenzie Forgacs: ah
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, with all the winter weather, this is a little preface, preface, yeah, little preface to ah my ad here.
Bobbo: Yep.
Mackenzie Forgacs: With all the winter weather this year, you should definitely be prepared for anything, right? And who better to help you stay prepared than Duracell?
Mackenzie Forgacs: this conference championship making waves nfl confidence pool podcast episode is brought to you by duracell batteries facing an emergency make sure you're stocked up on batteries for all your flashlights ah uh electric things
Bobbo: Yay, yay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: all your things that you need for batteries. Duracell, Duracell, getting us through the storm. Duracell, Duracell, stock up, keeping warm.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Stay with Duracell, the trusted battery. Use your Duracell to get you through all the freezes.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Duracell! Stick with Duracell to get through all of your disaster needs.
Bobbo: Okay, McKenna, you really rebounded there.
Mackenzie Forgacs: The end.
Bobbo: ah you You were struggling. You hadn't even gotten the singing part yet. I was thinking, what the hell is going on?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Why can't I think of what runs on batteries besides flush pipes?
Bobbo: You said, flashlights. I could see it in your eyes, the panic of, my gosh, what else? But you know what? Hey, very appropriate with that winter storm.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I was gonna say remotes, but like you don't need a remote in an emergency.
Bobbo: Hey, very appropriate with that storm ripping through the U.S. right now. So kudos to you, Matt.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep. Okay.
Bobbo: That was nice. Well done.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Everybody, you heard it here first, get prepared. It's always better to be prepared than to not.
Bobbo: It's always better to be prepared than to not. Sorry, I'm getting ready to pick my next one here.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Absolutely. All right. Hit us with a jelly bean, Bob.
Bobbo: Stinkbug?
Mackenzie Forgacs: well, stink bug great.
Bobbo: you imagine biting into a stinkbug?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Stink bug would be great. Stink bug would be great.
Bobbo: a Ah!
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh it's a bad one.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I wanna know what it tastes like though.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Some people say stink bugs smell like cilantro. So I'm curious, does it also have a cilantro taste?
Bobbo: Hey, myth busted. It doesn't taste like cilantro at all.
Mackenzie Forgacs: What's it taste like?
Bobbo: Stink bug. It's like...
Mackenzie Forgacs: When you're eating it, are you also like, have you ever smelled the stink bug?
Bobbo: yeah Of course, I've stepped on a million of them.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So when you eat it, are you like actually getting that smell? You know how all that's connected?
Bobbo: it's It's like... That was kind of like what you would expect like a beetle to taste. like Juicy, like kind of like soury. That was a hundred times better than...
Bobbo: booger, but that was really bad. And I wanted to spit it out immediately when it went in my mouth.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. So overall, you haven't had a horrible experience yet and you've only got
Bobbo: I've had the book the booger was bad enough for me for the rest of this time.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: I hope that's the only one i get.
Mackenzie Forgacs: You only got three left, so you're doing pretty good. All right.
Bobbo: Okay. Okay. I appreciate it. Thank you for lifting me up. Lift me up. Thank you. Lift me up. Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. So once the Patriots go to the Super Bowl at 3 o'clock, let's find out who's going from the NFC between L.A.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: and Seattle. Kick us off, Bob.
Bobbo: Okay, so that means we both have our our three left, or is that what...
Mackenzie Forgacs: We both have our three left. Yep.
Bobbo: Okay, I'm trying to keep little...
Mackenzie Forgacs: So I guess technically the Super Bowl could stay at four points.
Bobbo: Oh, I guess no matter what, well, we don't want to tie. So I guess no matter what, now that it's eight, it will go become down to the Superbowl.
Mackenzie Forgacs: You're right.
Bobbo: It just depends on who's up.
Mackenzie Forgacs: You're right.
Bobbo: So who can try to have the other person pick the same as them?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.
Bobbo: Cause if that happens, then that person wins. So having the lead is important. Um, I've gone back and forth on this.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Uh-huh.
Bobbo: i do not want the team that just beat my team to make the Superbowl. So like, I kind of hate the Rams right now. Um, But I also am like, on paper, Seahawks are easily far and away the best team in football, in my opinion.
Bobbo: So it's like, do I want to try to be strategic here and like pick against Mac? Do I think that the Rams even have a chance?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Right.
Bobbo: At the end of the day, going to play it safe. I'm lay up in front of the water. going to go with what I went with earlier in my head. Seahawks are too strong of a team. I'm trying to be strategic in my head for the Super Bowl. um I think that the Seahawks are going to win with flying colors. Bears had the Rams on the ropes. Panthers had the Rams on the ropes in the wildcard round.
Bobbo: Rams are playing good ball, but they have a lot of flaws. Their defense is chopped cheese. um And yeah, that Seattle atmosphere is one of the hardest to play in football. I think the 13th man or 12th man, whatever the hell it is, is going to come out guns a blazing. I got Seattle rolling with my three points.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Love it. And actually, either way, sticking with the safe bet is also strategy because no matter what, you're probably assuming I'm also going to choose Seattle and you would just stay within that one point.
Mackenzie Forgacs: So not a bad strategy all the way around.
Bobbo: True. 1.2.
Mackenzie Forgacs: If I stayed with Seattle, oh, baby, watch out.
Bobbo: and and
Mackenzie Forgacs: Just joking. I also went with Seattle because there is just no way based on that win against the 49ers this past weekend. It was boom. It was crazy, crazy, crazy. i I could not in good conscience pick against them.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And I just want to go through a really quick nugget that I actually sent my co-host here. I don't know if he's seen it yet on Instagram. I do think this game to be closer because l LA and Seattle have already played twice this year, obviously being in the same conference.
Bobbo: Oh, I don't think i did.
Mackenzie Forgacs: They each won one. I do think this is going be a closer one. In the history of matchups between the Rams and the Seahawks, it is a rivalry separated by one single point.
Mackenzie Forgacs: They have played each other 57 times. The Seahawks have won 29 and the Rams have won 28. And in those games, Seattle has scored 1,223 points, and l LA has scored 1,222 points.
Mackenzie Forgacs: This is a rivalry separated by one point. I don't know that it's going to come down to a one-point game, just with how Seattle looked, but that is a lot of good, juicy infi information to have.
Bobbo: Dang.
Mackenzie Forgacs: This is going to be, I still think, a good matchup, despite the spanking that Seattle had this past weekend. I'm excited for this game and I'm excited for you to eat another jelly bean.
Bobbo: Dang it. Okay, you really had me go in there with the Rams. I was getting pumped. i was like, I can't believe my luck. I'm not that lucky.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.
Bobbo: I never have, but I never will be.
Mackenzie Forgacs: No, sorry.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Unfortunately you're not. like It is either way. As we said, it's coming down in the Superbowl. It doesn't really matter how many points around the Superbowl. Either way, it's going to come down to who picks the winning team.
Mackenzie Forgacs: I've got a little bit of a lead, so I get to decide who I'm going pick.
Bobbo: Damn it.
Mackenzie Forgacs: um But Yeah, we'll see. It's all coming down to February 8th.
Bobbo: You can also just pick the same team as me. you Assume I'm picking the other one.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep.
Bobbo: So we shall see, folks. We're going to do an episode next week about hopefully like season awards, and we'll we'll talk about that meeting can discuss.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep.
Bobbo: For now, I'm going to be strategic again because I have, what, three more?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Definitely. you had Yep, this is your 8th. So yeah, let's just go ahead. why don't you just hit us with all three?
Bobbo: What? Okay. Burnt rubber or licorice? I feel like burnt rubber, even if I get that, wouldn't be
Mackenzie Forgacs: Not horrible. not Not a bad idea. He's being pretty strategic, folks. He's not choosing horrible. Oh, he's got burnt rubber. He's getting up again. Every single time he has eaten a jelly bean, he gets up and leaves the screen. So I'm actually starting to wonder if he is spitting them out.
Bobbo: Oh, of course I'm spitting them out.
Mackenzie Forgacs: or You are?
Bobbo: I'm getting all the, I'm getting the freaking flavor. I still have it in me. I still got booger.
Mackenzie Forgacs: a minute, folks. I'm calling flag on this play. You're not eating the jelly beans?
Bobbo: I'm chewing into it. I still got booger in my teeth.
Mackenzie Forgacs: It doesn't matter, you're supposed to eat them, my friend.
Bobbo: I didn't know that was a rule. i mean I'm eating the good ones.
Mackenzie Forgacs: beans, not chew on and spit it out.
Bobbo: Do i have to just speed run through this then?
Mackenzie Forgacs: No, but I'm gonna send a poll out there to the wave makers and we're gonna see if you have to do this again.
Bobbo: How about this? To make up for it, I got two more. To make up for it, I'll do peach or vomit for my last one. And I will, no matter what I get for these last two, I will eat to completion.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. Deal.
Bobbo: does that Does that make you feel better about this?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Not really, but we'll still let you go.
Bobbo: Okay. Would you rather have me? I'll let you pick. Okay. Would you rather have me do old bandage and pomegranate here? um
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: i can do or what
Mackenzie Forgacs: Or.
Mackenzie Forgacs: ah Do the vomit one.
Bobbo: what is this?
Mackenzie Forgacs: I want you do the vomit.
Bobbo: Liver and onions or cappuccino.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Which one?
Bobbo: Liver and onions or cappuccino or bloody bandage and pomegranate.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, do that one. Do that one and the vomit.
Bobbo: You want me to do liver and onions or cappuccino first?
Mackenzie Forgacs: please.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep, that's great. And then you'll do the volume.
Bobbo: you're a real You're a real sicko, you know that?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay,
Bobbo: Okay, here we go. Liver and onions or cappuccino.
Mackenzie Forgacs: here we go.
Mackenzie Forgacs: And no spinning them out.
Bobbo: a Ah!
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh no, it's liver and onions.
Bobbo: Oh my God. That tastes just like an onion.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, just onion? That's not bad.
Bobbo: And other shiz, a.k.a. liver. I don't like onions anyways. That's supposed to be the good part of it.
Bobbo: Not good.
Bobbo: Oh, my God. I'm really nervous about this last one.
Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. Last one. Please get the puke. Please get the puke.
Bobbo: Mac, I'm actually, if I get the puke, I'm legitimately going to can i can i do try Can I do a blue one, even if it's toothpaste, just to clean clean my palate?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You can do that. You can do that.
Bobbo: Ha. Very berry.
Mackenzie Forgacs: plum
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: i mean, you can snack on extra ones all you want.
Bobbo: No, because I have a 50% chance I'm going to get another shiz one.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That's funny. yeah
Bobbo: I'm going go to do that. Okay. Oh, there's a barf.
Bobbo: Oh, here it is, folks. I got two identical.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, we see them.
Bobbo: One of these tastes like barf.
Mackenzie Forgacs: They're orange, like a cloudy orange.
Bobbo: One of these tastes like barf, and one is peach.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Come on, Barb.
Bobbo: Oh, my God.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Come on, Barb.
Bobbo: ebye Mac, if I taste barf... Oh, why are smiling so big? Okay. One has gone into the bag.
Mackenzie Forgacs: You've had such good luck.
Bobbo: i
Mackenzie Forgacs: I think it's peach. I think it's peach.
Bobbo: feel like i haven't had i feel like it's like been 50-50, which makes sense.
Mackenzie Forgacs: You've had great luck. You've great luck.
Bobbo: Can suck on it a little bit to see? No, that's next.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Sure. Either way, you got to eat it.
Bobbo: Okay. Please.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Just go. Just three, two, one.
Bobbo: For the love of all that is good.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Down the hatch.
Bobbo: can't. For the love of all that is good, please let me get a good one here.
Mackenzie Forgacs: It's so nice.
Bobbo: One time. haven't done anything yet. haven't done anything yet. I'm so nervous.
Mackenzie Forgacs: He's not biting down. He's afraid.
Bobbo: Oh, my. I'm back.
Mackenzie Forgacs: oh no, it's puke.
Bobbo: Oh my god.
Mackenzie Forgacs: You can spit it out. If you're going to throw up, you can spit it out.
Bobbo: god. Oh my
Bobbo: Oh my god. Oh my god. but
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, drink water, drink water.
Bobbo: yes
Mackenzie Forgacs: you can spit it out if you have it. oh no, he's yacking.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh man. Oh geez. Okay. Now I actually feel bad. Are you okay, Bob?
Mackenzie Forgacs: Bob, are you I just heard you doing that in the other room.
Bobbo: My eyes are watered.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Are you okay?
Bobbo: I'm going to be tape.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, now you can eat the other one. You know, it's peach.
Bobbo: Yeah, but I threw back in the bag, and there's a bunch of all of them.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh no.
Bobbo: you imagine if I tried to clean my pan?
Mackenzie Forgacs: any place my car for
Bobbo: And I got another ramen on top? Mac.
Mackenzie Forgacs: That was bad.
Bobbo: That's la-
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh my god.
Bobbo: I don't want to talk about it. That tasted
Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.
Bobbo: like somebody's vomit was in my mouth.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh god. Okay. All right.
Bobbo: Okay.
Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, I won't make you do an ad, how about?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes!
Bobbo: Oh, gosh.
