Bobbo: We finally made it, folks. The big one. The big kahuna. The big game. Super Bowl week. Let's dive right in.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Welcome back to Making Waves, an NFL Confidence Pool podcast. I'm your Super Bowl host, Mac.

Bobbo: And I'm your Super Bowl host, Bob. I like that.

Mackenzie Forgacs: The 2025-2026 season is coming to a close and we're having a lot of mixed feelings.

Bobbo: Sad.

Mackenzie Forgacs: It's ah been a great year. This is obviously, you know, we're coming up on the big dance, the big kahuna, as Bob said. And this is unfortunately going to the last episode for making waves for the year.

Bobbo: ah

Mackenzie Forgacs: So just, yeah, just a lot of lot of excitement for the Super Bowl, but sadness on my end. How are you feeling, Bob?

Bobbo: And you hit the cry button on your on your soundboard there.

Mackenzie Forgacs: yeah 32 yep you're yeah

Bobbo: excuse you for dead we wa we That's exactly how I feel. The cry button on the soundboard said it exactly right. um It's always sad because September, 32 teams. Is it 30 or 32 teams in the

Mackenzie Forgacs: thirty two ye you're sp um

Bobbo: Okay, 32 teams enter training camp in the summer with so much hope, and then we enter with so much hope for our boys. And um here we are on Thursday, February 5th, and there's only two teams left with hope.

Bobbo: And in four days, one team will be happy and 31 will be sad. So I'm feeling sad because I love doing this with my best friend. um But you know what? every Every fall, they're back for more, and...

Bobbo: We'll be back for more in September. And I'm not sad about the winter going quickly because these, these, ah these temps have not been fun.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You're right.

Bobbo: So I'm sad for, yes, sad for football being over, but happy for a spring nearing closer.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You know what, that's a great point. Great.

Bobbo: So.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, after the Super Bowl, really, you give it another month or so you're in midway through March and things are looking up, you know, you might have a few more weeks of cold here and there. But for the most part, you're you're in a steady trend of warmer weather. So That is a good way to look at it. There's a lot of lot of positives. a lot of these teams are probably enjoying Cabo as we speak.

Mackenzie Forgacs: One more will be joining them here after Sunday. And, yeah, I'm excited to see who you think it will be and who I think it will be because we have a lot on the line for whoever gets chosen or whoever wins.

Bobbo: Yes, we do. And we're going to dive into that. i was just going ask that real quick, Mac. You want to give me just a one quick clue about um a team or a player or maybe like the city?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah. Sure.

Bobbo: One clue about who you're going with, because this is a big, this is big.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Sure, sure, sure, sure. So one clue for you, the team that I'm going to pick has um blue in their logo.

Bobbo: I cannot believe she told me. Okay, I've got to change my pick. I cannot believe she told me that. Okay. And then I will...

Mackenzie Forgacs: those of you know unfamiliar with logos, both the Patriots and the Seahawks have blue in their logos.

Bobbo: i

Bobbo: yeah

Mackenzie Forgacs: Dress.

Bobbo: Ah, drats. ah Do you want a clue about who I'm going with?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Deggit.

Bobbo: Because you also, you know, pick the same as me.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah. Yeah, would you mind?

Bobbo: Yes, I would not mind. I'd love to tell you. So the team I'm going with is um on one of the coasts. They're like a coast. The state that they reside in is on a coast.

Mackenzie Forgacs: wow.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Amazing. I'm not eating vegetables for a day this year. Woo hoo.

Bobbo: Oh, no. How did I tell her that? No, no, no, no, no.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No, no, no, no, no. no no

Bobbo: No, no, no, no, no. This is actually, there's a lot on the line. So I guess before we dive into the awards, because this is award ceremony, there was the Grammys on Sunday.

Bobbo: It's also Oscar season, but I don't think there's...

Mackenzie Forgacs: We've got the NFL honors. Is that tonight or next week?

Bobbo: That's a great question. i actually...

Mackenzie Forgacs: Actually, I think that actually might be tonight.

Bobbo: Well, I mean, it's like us in the NFL did little collab, I'm sure Roger Goodell is just hitting himself because the NFL honors are great. The Oscars are awesome. The Grammys are all big accomplishments.

Bobbo: Sorry. Sorry. lose so much lower face to the right. She's cracking me up. She's watching Uncle Bob. Yeah.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, we've got our Binky Waves mascot behind me just watching me do the podcast and she is just staring deep into Bob's soul through the camera.

Bobbo: yeah

Bobbo: She's really locked in. I'm having had a tough time concentrating.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I'll block her.

Bobbo: um Thank you. all All awards are very important, but none bigger than the, almost said the Make Waver, the Wave Maker Awards.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes, the Maeve Waker. Wait, what?

Bobbo: Did you just do the same thing?

Mackenzie Forgacs: I was trying to say what you, what did you say?

Bobbo: I said the Maeve Waker. Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, you did. Okay, so I did copy you. For whatever reason, in my brain, it registered, as you said, the maker wave, but you didn't. You said the Maeve waker, and I did copy you.

Bobbo: It would have made sense if I said the wake room.

Mackenzie Forgacs: My brain just short-circuited for a second.

Bobbo: It would have made sense if I said the wake room. Me and Mac just got done talking to each other before we hopped on it. We're both a little tired. So if we trip over our words or say some silly things, it's because we've had big weeks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, yeah.

Bobbo: Hi, Sumi.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We have.

Bobbo: She's bad.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We have. And it's been a long season. We have just been putting in countless hours into making waves, as I'm sure you could tell with all of our all of our knowledge today on our sports, are our football analysis.

Bobbo: Yeah.

Bobbo: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, we've just been putting in countless hours. So we're also ready for Cabo.

Bobbo: we We're really ready for Cabo, and thank goodness we have that coming up next month. So um we we deserve a break as well. This is our full-time job, 365, for those who did not know.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep.

Bobbo: I am, um you know, I'm doing nothing else, and neither is Mac, other than we are putting in nose-to-grindstone-type work with the NFL.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Exactly.

Bobbo: And we get a little break after this for one week, and then we're right back add to it at it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Exactly.

Bobbo: We're right back at it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We're right back to it.

Bobbo: but and not ah Next week. So I need Cabo now.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, and it could come soon enough, apparently, for either of us.

Bobbo: So Mac, I'm struggling. Will you help explain to our wave makers what is at stake with this?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Let's do it.

Bobbo: ah

Mackenzie Forgacs: Wave riders?

Bobbo: Cabo, I need you now.

Mackenzie Forgacs: What's at stake for the Super Bowl?

Bobbo: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Let me run it back for everybody.

Bobbo: Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes, absolutely.

Bobbo: Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I got you.

Bobbo: Tap me out.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I got you, Bob.

Bobbo: Tap me out for a second.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So if you tuned in a few weeks ago, we obviously took last week off because the NFL also took last week off to give both of the Super Bowl bound teams a bye week to get ready for the Super Bowl.

Bobbo: Thanks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: um So if you tuned in two weeks ago or before, Bob and I have a little bet going on for the playoffs. So every year we do this where round one, each game is worth just one, two, three, four, five, six points, just standard point system that we use for confidence pool.

Mackenzie Forgacs: The next week it's worth double, so two, four, six, eight, so on and so forth. So this week for the Super Bowl, the game is worth eight points and we are have a difference of only one point between us.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So basically whoever chooses the Super Bowl winner correctly will win the bet.

Bobbo: I

Mackenzie Forgacs: And what's at stake is the loser of the bet has to eat only vegetables for 24-hour period. So Any which way you want, raw, cooked, whatever, but it can only be vegetables.

Bobbo: hate vegetables.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So I personally do not want that as my lost bet. And I imagine you also don't want to only eat vegetables for a day. So there's a lot on the line this Sunday.

Bobbo: Vegetables, vegetables. I hate vegetables. ah Yeah.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Not like any vegetables.

Bobbo: um Throw a little butter and salt on there. Some seasoning, I'm okay with vegetables. I do, I like, what are those little like beans that you get at like Asian food restaurants? If you're getting sushi, you get like a little side of... ah

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, oh, like snap peas or edamame or something like that.

Bobbo: Yeah, like I'm okay with snackies. Edamame, that's the word I was looking for.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Edamame.

Bobbo: So edamame, love that. ah

Mackenzie Forgacs: That's good, a little salt on them.

Bobbo: Yes, yes, I like salad. So like a nice romaine, some spinach leaves.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, there you go.

Bobbo: um

Mackenzie Forgacs: And just do some carrots and broccoli on it or something.

Bobbo: Yeah, the only problem with that is usually when I have a salad, I have like meat in there and cheese and eggs. So just an all veggie salad kind stuff.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Ooh, yeah. and I guess we will need to talk. Can we do like ranch? Like...

Bobbo: I was just going to ask that. Can we, before we put our picks in, which is going to happen in like two minutes, um let's set some ground rules because if I win, my ground rules are probably be a little more strict than if you do.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.

Bobbo: um yeah So let's let's set the ground rules before we know who won.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Bobbo: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. I would say, personally, I would say you could you could do a little seasoning.

Bobbo: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I feel like, you know if you cook them with a little olive oil and salt and stuff, that's fine. I do feel like the ranch might be a different category than that.

Bobbo: What the heck? So you're saying no ranch on like, you can't do ranch with like carrots or like green beans or something.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I mean... I feel like no, but tell me your thoughts.

Bobbo: You're going to rue the day. You're going to rue the day. You're going to say, ah, these carrots are disgusting. I wish I had some ranch dressing to dip them in.

Mackenzie Forgacs: What you, what are your thoughts? Cause you said that you thought you would be more strict than me.

Bobbo: Yeah, well, if I win, I'm going want it to be super loosey-goosey. But um if – oh, sorry.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, Oh, you mean like if we set these after we figured out.

Bobbo: if If you win, I'm to want it to loosey-goosey. Exactly. And if I win, I'm probably going to want them really strict.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Right.

Bobbo: So, yeah, yeah.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Right. Right. Okay.

Bobbo: Yeah.

Mackenzie Forgacs: How about this?

Bobbo: you

Mackenzie Forgacs: How about you can do ranch for what you can use ranch one time throughout the day. So if you want to dip carrots in it, if you want to put ranch on a salad, that's fine, but you can use it for like one of the meals or what one time or whatever.

Bobbo: One time. yeah What if I filled like a Tupperware um full of ranch, but that's technically still one time because I'm doing it all day.

Mackenzie Forgacs: If your one time is to dip carrots in and you do that all day, then that's fine, but then you can't go put it on a salad. How about that? Does

Bobbo: Okay. Okay. that's it That's a solid distinction. I think that's fair.

Mackenzie Forgacs: that make sense?

Bobbo: that That makes sense. I don't like it. um

Mackenzie Forgacs: You can use dressings for like one category of food.

Bobbo: If I lose, but that makes sense.

Bobbo: Okay, that's fair. So if I want to do a little bit of ranch on my my lunch salad, I can't do ranch with my carrots later in the afternoon.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Right. That's kind of what I think.

Bobbo: What if I get a really bad stomachache in the afternoon and I need something more than than vegetables?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, wait, wait 12 hours.

Bobbo: Tufftail Nails?

Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't know.

Bobbo: that This too shall pass. Got it. Okay. um i think I think ranch with one food item like in one sitting is fair.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah. And if you you did, if you chose that carrots with ranch was going to be your snack and that's what you snack on all day, I think that's fine.

Bobbo: Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Just like with one grouping.

Bobbo: Okay, I think that's fair. We have a deal. um And little air shake, perfect.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Fair shake.

Bobbo: And a little distinction. So if me and Mac decide that we're picking the same team, Mac automatically wins. So because he's got a one-point lead.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh yeah. Good point. Yeah. Cause I e i have a one point lead. So

Bobbo: So if we both say, i don't know, this is just totally random, but a little little little that Seahawks came out. If we both say Seahawks, then he playing head games? Who knows?

Mackenzie Forgacs: is he playing?

Bobbo: Seahawks comes out. Who knows? We'll never know. We'll find out in a minute.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Or if we both say it's

Bobbo: Matt wins.

Mackenzie Forgacs: creates

Bobbo: Or if we both say Patriots, then yeah, Matt wins as well. If we say different teams, Matt can still win, but I have a chance as well. So how are we going to do this?

Mackenzie Forgacs: So I think first up, let's go ahead and dive into our awards. And then at the end of the episode, we will announce who we are both choosing for the Super Bowl and close it out.

Bobbo: Okay.

Bobbo: I like that because going to be in a really bad mood if I lose the whole episode. I don't want to be in the bad mood. Good idea.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfect. Okay. And I am feel the same way. So let's get started. Let's talk about some positive things. We're both, you know, we're choosing awards.

Bobbo: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We're cheering for people. Bob and I chose five categories to give to you all today of different awards.

Bobbo: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So we have the five categories, the dark horse award. So that's maybe a team or a person or somebody that really surprised you that kind of came out of nowhere this year. We have a fan favorite award. So again, another team or a player who somebody you it's really fun to root for, somebody you really enjoy watching.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We have a team on the rise award. So this is a team. Oh, I'm sorry. I see a hand up. Yes. A host, Super Bowl host Bob.

Bobbo: Thank you so much. um Did you say team or player for fan favorite?

Mackenzie Forgacs: I think so. I think all of these are really team or player.

Bobbo: Okay. they Excellent. Okay. I just wanted to to make sure that I heard that right. Okay, we can move on.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, wait, actually, i didn't say that because you're just going to choose the bears. How

Bobbo: No, that's that's not for sure, but I just want to put that in. Okay. Thank you, Super Bowl host.

Mackenzie Forgacs: about you make a little more distinction when you choose the bears of why you really love, um, what's, what's your, oh my God, what's your quarterback's name?

Bobbo: Thank

Bobbo: the ah Caleb Williams? God, I got to text him.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Caleb, yeah, of why you really love Caleb. That's, you know, that kind of thing.

Bobbo: I'm going have to text him and apologize. Okay, I'm going to it. going to get out ahead of this. Sorry, you can continue. i' just got to text him.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Team on the Rise Award. So this is a team that maybe didn't do so good this year, but we're really looking forward to seeing how they do next year. um The Defensive or Offensive Player of the Year, in that distinction, we have both of those in there because it's going to be the opposite of whoever we choose for the final award, which is Wavemaker of the Year, which that's classic one for us if you've listened in several years now.

Bobbo: Yep. Love it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So it with that, if you choose an offensive player for Wavemaker of the Year, you would have to choose a defensive player of the year to just kind of even it out or vice versa. So with that, those are our five awards.

Bobbo: Perfect.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And Bob, do you want to start us off with your Dark Horse Award?

Bobbo: Perfect. I would absolutely love to start us off. Thank you for giving me the honors. ah And then last quick distinguish distinguishing question before we start.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Absolutely.

Bobbo: as the book As the bookkeeper for making waves and kind of the the head of all of our funds and that side of things, I'm just a ah teacher, so i don't really deal with any of that stuff.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Please.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Right.

Bobbo: um Are we going to send like a big fat check, like one of the like life-size ones to all of these winners

Mackenzie Forgacs: Absolutely. yep

Bobbo: and And like a little trophy, like the little making like the what the big like gold wave with like a football, like a surfboard. Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep. So trophy, the big check, life-size check. What do you think? Like one mil per award and then swag maybe?

Bobbo: Yeah, whoa. was just kidding. Yes. um I have a bunch of swag that we ordered that never sold. um So i will I will probably send a swag and then one mil per award.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfect.

Bobbo: And then I got my ah my team working on the the trophies. So we'll get those all set up.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfect. And so, yeah, I the bookkeeper, so we're giving out 10 awards. So we've got 10 mil in the bank, right?

Bobbo: Perfect. We do have 10 mil in the bank. um you're You're saying right, but you're the the bookkeeper.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, thought you said you were the bookkeeper.

Bobbo: So I hope you've you're kind of on top of that.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Uh-oh.

Bobbo: No, as the bookkeeper, like you, like you're the bookkeeper.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Wait a minute. We better check our finances then because apparently we both think the other is the bookkeeper. So.

Bobbo: Yikes. Yeah, we got to figure this out. Okay. I'll get on that after. And yeah, I just wanted to make sure we' were on the same page here. So let's let's make some people's days here. Let's ah start off with Dark Horse.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfect.

Bobbo: this

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes.

Bobbo: This guy is has been around in the NFL for for quite some time. And um his team has has had some high hopes, um but the teams really haven't succeeded up to this year. He had won one playoff game and um he had never won division title. So This dark horse was a guy that we have also kind of like an interesting nickname for. And we've always kind of just said, oh, blank, blank, blank. And oh this and this and this. So going into this year, I didn't really think much of it. This team, I didn't think they stood a chance. I think most of...

Bobbo: ah Most of us football fans would have agreed that they would get third or or worse in the division. And um lo and behold, his team ended up winning 12 games. ah They hosted a playoff game.

Bobbo: And he ended up being an absolute fantasy stud for the last like month of the season, throwing touchdown passes left and right. carrying his team. He doesn't really have a number one receiver, but his team just kind of came out of nowhere.

Bobbo: He did lose in the first round of the playoffs, but like he going into next year is very relevant, which is why I think a dark horse worthy recipient is Trevor Lord Farquaad Lawrence.

Bobbo: He he was the number one

Mackenzie Forgacs: Got it. Okay. I was trying to figure out who you who you were going with. And I did at first think Trevor Lawrence, but then I got thrown for a little bit. But okay, perfect.

Bobbo: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We're back on it.

Bobbo: Yes. And that's why I said, uh, uh, uh, he had like six touchdown passes, like two or three weeks in a row.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I didn't know those fantasy stats, so that's good to know.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Wow.

Bobbo: So he was like carrying teams in the playoffs. Um, but the, uh, uh, uh, Lord Farquaad.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Wow. Okay.

Bobbo: So yes, yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Lord Marquardt.

Bobbo: I don't, I think we can just call him Trev from now on because he, I think he quickly turned into a top 10 QB. He was the number one pick out of Clemson. He had a very average, I think it was five years in the NFL prior to this.

Bobbo: They didn't do anything. um In the regular season, like I said, one playoff win. And now um heading into next year, I think a lot of people are gonna have their eyes on the Jags because of my dark horse.

Bobbo: So congratulations, Trevor Lawrence. um And yeah, his career is revived. And I think a lot of people in Jacksonville are very excited about the future of Jags football because of Trevor and co. So congrats, Trevor.

Bobbo: First Wavemaker Award of this season.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Amazing, congrats Trevor on the first award of making waves award ceremony here. All right, love it, great, congrats Trev.

Bobbo: Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: um Perfect, great great ah intro into all the award ceremonies here, Bob.

Bobbo: thank ah Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I'll go ahead and jump to my dark horse. I like the way you led up and you didn't immediately reveal it. So I'm gonna try and adopt that that strategy as well. So my dark horse for the year is actually a team.

Bobbo: Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: It's not just one individual person. But this is a team that I think surprised a ton of people, myself included. i think I can safely speak for you, Bob, that you also were very, very surprised by the team.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No, he's he's chatting me on the side.

Bobbo: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: He said, the Bears, we accept. Unfortunately, it's not the Bears, but they did also have great season. I won't bury the lead too far for you for that one. But

Bobbo: ah Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes, this is a team that really surprised us so much so that Bob and I did talk a lot of smack about this team throughout the season. And we definitely have some egg on our face and pants around our ankles that we we have to atone for.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So this is a team that went from last place in their division last year with only four wins. They hired a new coach little over a year ago, last January, 2025.

Mackenzie Forgacs: came in And he turned this team around complete 180. They ended the regular season with 14 wins. Yes, count them.

Mackenzie Forgacs: 10 more wins than last year. They jumped from fourth in the AFC East to first in the AFC East. And if you're paying attention and you know who's in the AFC East, you would know that I'm talking about the New England Patriots team.

Mackenzie Forgacs: a four win team to a team that is Superbowl bound a hundred percent in my eyes, the dark horse of the year.

Bobbo: Wow. o

Mackenzie Forgacs: I never would have thought it. I was singing it all the way up until last year that I didn't, or last week that I didn't think they were going to the Superbowl. Here they are. They're moving along and yeah, they're heading, heading to the Superbowl with a very young quarterback and genuinely, I think a future of another franchise winning team, which is scary considering they were,

Mackenzie Forgacs: Already a kind of a dynasty franchise team that we want to stay on the shelf a little bit longer. So they apparently don't. And they're here and they're here to stay. So congrats, Patriots. Well-deserved.

Mackenzie Forgacs: um Definitely my dark horse.

Bobbo: Wow. Okay. ah First team award. um i think they're very, very worthy of that award. We have ah been kind of ah not taking them seriously for a long time, even up to the playoffs saying, oh, they had a cupcake road and they got a little bit of luck with Bo Nix going down still.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep.

Bobbo: So, hey, not coming at you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Definitely.

Bobbo: This is this this is a ah a happy event.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep. There's still.

Bobbo: This is not us us being... um Yeah, it's not us being critical. This is us congratulating you. But I do think they deserve this. And if they win the Super Bowl, big time egg on our face.

Bobbo: So we'll see if they can ah finish the Dark Horse story and and win it all this weekend.

Mackenzie Forgacs: yeah.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We shall see indeed. um So yeah, with that, that's our first two awards. We'll move right along to the fan favorite award. So yes, you can have it be a player or a team, whatever you want, Bob.

Bobbo: Hi. aye

Mackenzie Forgacs: um I'll go ahead and I can start and just we'll kind of snake it back around. Obviously, got to find a way to plug in somebody from my boys because, yeah, I mean, I knew the Bears were obviously going sneak in at some point.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Maybe, what's his name again?

Bobbo: No.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Caleb, what?

Bobbo: Hey.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Sorry, just, I actually did blank earlier, but this time I actually remembered.

Bobbo: Hey.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Um, but yeah, obviously I know there's to some, some sneaking in of teams and I'm obviously going to do that as well.

Bobbo: That's funny.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So my personal fan favorite and actually somebody that I do think is a very, very fun to watch had a season, uh, high year for his very short career of only three years.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Uh, he set a franchise record for the Detroit lions of 20 rushing touchdowns in a season, He had a career high of over 2000 yards from scrimmage.

Mackenzie Forgacs: He is just so fun to watch whenever they get the ball in this guy's hands. He is bobbing. He is weaving. He is hitting high speeds in the NFL. I think I read somewhere that he hit like a top speed of the third fastest in the NFL this year or something like that.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Super fun to watch. Super huge for fantasy teams. Just a great addition that we have. And we picked him pretty high. A lot of people told us that it would be not a good pick in the draft a few years back, but I'm sure glad we picked him and it's really fun to watch him. My fan favorite, Jameer Gibbs.

Bobbo: Nice, Jameer. We're happy for you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We're sending you a million bucks, Jameer.

Bobbo: Man, just more chump, James, for a guy who's making tens of millions of dollars. Duh.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Wait, actually, I also have a clarifying question. So when we choose teams, does the whole team receive the award or?

Bobbo: So Making Waves is doing great. We're not doing that great. So I think the whole team is going to split the trophy and split the money.

Mackenzie Forgacs: one million, yeah.

Bobbo: maybe they'll put into you know Maybe they'll give it to their staff who deserves a playoff bonus.

Mackenzie Forgacs: o

Bobbo: Or or maybe they'll just split it amongst you know the the crew and wont it won't be as as as great to to split it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: That'd be good, yeah.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, that's possible.

Bobbo: But have you still it still a million bucks, you know.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, I mean, truth. It's a lot for us, that's for sure.

Bobbo: Yeah, unfortunately unfortunately, teams, we can't we can't be giving out full ah full million dollars to everybody. But hope you hope you enjoy the money that we are are providing.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Absolutely, absolutely.

Bobbo: Okay, it's Amiri Gibbs. Well, he he definitely deserves it. He is a lightning bug out there, and he is electric. ah To two Bears and Packers and and Vikings fans, chagrin. He's he's a great player. So, well-deserved.

Bobbo: um My fan favorite was an individual player until my wonderful co-host um let me know that we could choose teams.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. Thanks,

Bobbo: So, was really hard. um

Mackenzie Forgacs: wonder who your fan favorite could possibly be. Well, like, who's your favorite team, even?

Bobbo: I know, and he And you will never guess this. This is going to come as a shock.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Root.

Bobbo: So buckle up.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Bobbo: Make sure some he's buckled up back there as he's dreaming away.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Bobbo: But yeah good.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. Could I have a million dollars if I guess it?

Bobbo: so

Mackenzie Forgacs: or

Bobbo: um You could like, you know, take out a loan from from our bank account, our our shared business account if you want to.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. And does that link to your personal bank account or?

Bobbo: No, that just links to all of the influx of money we're making from Zencaster and ah swag and you know social media and all that stuff.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. All right. Understood. Perfect.

Bobbo: Did that answer your question?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, I'll let you go ahead. I'm gonna write down my answer here and I'll tell you if I, if I chose it and then you're going to me in box.

Bobbo: Okay, i would be I'd be shocked if you do because I do not think you have any chance of this. um I do want to apologize to the guy that I had written down. um i had my boy B. John Robinson written down solely because the fact that he had a 93-yard touchdown um to win me a fantasy championship and $1,000. I wanted to repay that joy he gave me um On that Monday night, 93-yard touchdown run, I was jumping up and down like the Bears won the Super Bowl. Nope, I just got $1,000 and eternal glory in my high school buddy's fantasy league. So I wanted to shout out Bijan because he's my my favorite non-Bears player because of that play.

Bobbo: But, unfortunately, Bijan, you're going have to maybe pinch some pennies this offseason and because you're not going to be getting that million dollars because my million-dollar fan favorite award goes to a team.

Bobbo: And this team –

Bobbo: I don't want to give anything away, but this team was unbelievable this year. They could have won the dark horse. um They could have won the wave maker of the year award. They could have won the team on the rise award as well, to be honest, because this team kind of came out of nowhere.

Bobbo: ah This team got last place similarly to the Patriots last year, and they ended up in first place this year. This team is near and dear to my heart. um And they had a, a flair for the dramatic.

Bobbo: um They set the NFL position. single season record in history of most most fourth quarter quarter comebacks after trailing with two minutes or less to go in the game. Six of them. Count them. One, two, three, four, five. Six times this season, this team was down with two minutes or less, and they came back and won the game. It happened again in the playoffs, make that seven.

Bobbo: And it almost happened again in the playoffs to be eight. This team, of course, if you haven't guessed it yet, is my team. The Chicago Bears. What was your right down, Mac?

Mackenzie Forgacs: I was so close to the million bucks. At first I wrote bears and then i crossed it off and I wrote lions. Shoot.

Bobbo: Oh, God.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Dang it.

Bobbo: See, I could see i why you would think I would be going with the Lions. Nice try. i ah She's showing me the Lions pen. Close up the camera. Nice. I love seeing that. Awesome. As I'm trying to award my favorite team, I'm seeing the Lions logo.

Mackenzie Forgacs: That's all right.

Bobbo: Love this. Last episode of the year. Shoot. But the Bears, they brought me so much joy. The least I can do is give them an award that will will be with them for eternity and some money, which hopefully will last more than the weekend. So, Bears, thank you so much for an unbelievable season. You are my Super Bowl champion no matter what happens this weekend. I love you, and I can't wait for one year from right now, me and Mac are going to be talking about the Super Bowl, and the Bears will be the team representing the NFC. You heard it here first, folks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, well, thank goodness I know that won't be true.

Bobbo: Congratulations, Bears, my fan favorite.

Mackenzie Forgacs: But yes, thank you. Great award. that That is your spot on that. They are a crazy team to watch, even just the with the playoffs when they were playing the Packers.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I think you know I was i was pulling for my best friend and really locked in on the Bears, and it was scary to watch.

Bobbo: Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: My heart was racing, and I'm obviously not even a fan. So, yeah, it was I'm a fan of you, of course, but...

Bobbo: you.

Bobbo: Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: you know, not the Bears.

Bobbo: thank you i appreciate that. Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: um yeah, my heart was definitely pumping with that comeback, and I don't know how you made it through the season. So definitely a crazy team to watch, and, yeah, you've got a lot to be proud of. They made huge strikes this year.

Bobbo: That was really big of you, Mac. Thank you so much. I'm glad you're a fan of the Bears and of myself.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Thank you. you have any anything nice to say about

Bobbo: ah

Bobbo: Yeah, you know, um ah the Lions dancing across my screen again. I see Sammy and I see a Lion dancing across the screen. um well We'll try again next year, Lions, and see if I have anything to say nice at the end of the season.

Bobbo: But you really tried tre hard and um you ended the season breaking my heart. And unfortunately, because of that, I can't really say much nice.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Bobbo: But I'm a fan of Mac um and we'll leave it at that. Big fan of Mac. Big fan.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, hey, maybe my team will be on the rise. Like the awards coming up next that you're going to kick us off with is the team on the rise award. And if you pick Lions, that'd be great.

Bobbo: Yes.

Bobbo: Yes. ah Shoot. I didn't pick the Lions.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Ah, shoot. Okay.

Bobbo: I didn't want to have you hanging on the cliff there. um I didn't pick Lions.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No problem.

Bobbo: um The team I picked was really bad this year. The the Bears did beat them. um well It was one of the the six that we came back to two minutes and less, which is kind of embarrassing. But we did beat this team. This team doesn't have a huge fan base. They're kind of a team that not a lot of people.

Bobbo: and It's not really a great sports market. um And they don't have... a great history, but they've got a lot of young talent. They will have a new coach because they just fired um their first year head coach, which is always tough when you're a first year head coach and fired, but they'll have a new coach coming in.

Bobbo: They have the number one pick in the NFL draft. So they will have a young man from Indiana with the last name of Mendoza. um who just won the Heisman and completed a perfect season at Indiana.

Bobbo: I think Mendoza is going to come in, give this franchise and this team a burst of energy. ah Ashton Gentry, another young stud at running back. He had flashes of brilliance. He's going to come in and give this team more um of what he gave them at the end of the season. They've got one of the best pass rushers Mendoza.

Bobbo: Max Crosby, who I wish was in Chicago, but he is in Las Vegas. And I just think this is a team that has been pretty bad for a long time. Chiefs are kind of going like this. Chargers had a really bad end of the season. Broncos will be good. But i don't don't be shocked if the Raiders um are over.500 next year and vying for a playoff spot with a new quarterback and a new head coach. So my team on the rise is the Las Vegas Raiders.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Love it. The Las Vegas Raiders.

Bobbo: Cleaners.

Mackenzie Forgacs: That's a great pick. I completely agree. Yeah. I think that's going to be really exciting to watch and see. They do, like you said, have a lot of great pieces already.

Bobbo: Thank you

Mackenzie Forgacs: They just needed to come together with a new coach and just somebody who can really lead the charge under, under center there. And it sounds like maybe that'll be the guy.

Bobbo: you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So yeah, exciting stuff, exciting stuff. That's the great part about the end of any season is that you start fresh and anything is possible. So.

Bobbo: Anything is possible.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Absolutely. All right, great team. um Yeah, lots of exciting things to look forward to for my team that I have chosen to award. the team on the rise trophy too.

Mackenzie Forgacs: This is a team that had a lot of downs this year, but I think also showed a lot of flashes of greatness. And I think there is a lot in store for them to really make a huge jump this next year.

Bobbo: Thanks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And there's someone near and dear to me, someone very close in my family, who I think is going to be very thrilled with this. This jump that I think they're going to make.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So this team only had four wins this year, but eight of their losses. So yeah, so eight of their losses, they only had four wins, but eight of their losses were only one score losses. So they were this close.

Mackenzie Forgacs: very, very close to being a twelve one team at that point. Obviously, that's a big thing to say. You know, all of them are not going to go in their way. But football is a game of very small margins and anything really could have happened.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I think that they made an incredible change in this offseason by hiring a world-renowned coach, in John Harbaugh.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And they have some incredible talent already at a new young quarterback by the name of Jackson Dart, a new young running back by the name of Cam Scadaboo.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And it's just going to be, i think,

Bobbo: Hello.

Mackenzie Forgacs: a All the pieces are going to come together with the new coach, and i'm I'm really excited to see what happens for the New York football Giants. My team on the rise. This is for you, Eli.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I really do think they're going to make an incredible jump next year, and I would not be surprised if we see them in the playoffs.

Bobbo: Playoffs.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So, yeah, playoffs. So let's see what happens this offseason, but that's my team on the rise.

Bobbo: That's very good. If I didn't see your text earlier about that, um when you were explaining the team on the Rise Award, I probably would have gone with them as well. But knowing that you were going with them, um I switched it out. But that's a great choice.

Bobbo: Shout out to Eli. There's been a lot of dark dark days as Giants fans, I'm sure, or as a Giants fan, I'm sure.

Mackenzie Forgacs: yeah

Bobbo: But things are looking up. New coach. lot of good rookies, as Max said. So it's a great pick.

Mackenzie Forgacs: without a doubt yep so exciting stuff maybe even the playoffs

Bobbo: wayoffs Speaking of playoffs, I wonder if your next award winner made the playoffs. You want to tell us? Nice transition.

Mackenzie Forgacs: He actually did not make the playoffs this year, but my, the next award winner.

Bobbo: Oh.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So I'm moving on, or which award did you think that you were talking about? Because I'm talking about my defensive player of the year award.

Bobbo: Got it. I was thinking we were talking about the Wavemaker Award.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, Wavemaker of the Year, different story.

Bobbo: Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: That would be a little wild to choose a Wavemaker who didn't make the playoffs. But hey, I mean, to each their own. But yeah, the next player, the next award that I have on my list, if it's okay if we pivot to this and then do Wavemaker last, I'm choosing Defensive Player of the Year.

Bobbo: It

Bobbo: sure is.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Little spoiler alert, my Wavemaker is an offensive player. Um, This player, the reason I chose him, and I think we've we've picked him. I think he's received several making waves awards at this point. He seems to be a standout defensive player season to season to season, despite having a team around him that is not a good team. This is a team that has gone through a lot of transitions. This is a team that has lost a lot of games. This is a team that is very clearly still finding their identity. And yet,

Mackenzie Forgacs: At the root of it all, you can always count on this defensive player to stand out. I believe he's won several NFL awards as well. I know they're less important than making waves of awards, but...

Bobbo: Way less. Way less.

Mackenzie Forgacs: for his position on defense. This year, he broke the NFL sack record. He recorded 23 sacks.

Bobbo: I was thinking $2 million.

Mackenzie Forgacs: and Bob's hands are up, so I'm wondering if we have the same player. And that's okay if we do.

Bobbo: I think

Mackenzie Forgacs: I'll let you speak on him as well. um It saves us money, honestly, in the bank account as well.

Bobbo: i would say take give two million dollars i can think something else...

Mackenzie Forgacs: ah One million only. um He broke the NFL sack record. He got 23 sacks. That record was previously previously held by T.J. Watt, Michael Strahan. Michael Strahan, a little nugget for you, won that. He had 22.5 sacks in 2001.

Mackenzie Forgacs: T.J. Watt tied that in 2021. So huge gap that that record existed. And then this year it was broken by the one, the only,

Mackenzie Forgacs: Miles Garrett, who is my defensive player of the year. Yet again, i'm pretty sure I picked him last year as

Bobbo: I say one of us for sure picked him last year. and Sorry, I'm just looking up one stat thing for my guy I'm going to choose because we can't we can't save a million dollars.

Mackenzie Forgacs: well. Are you sure? The bank account really could use it.

Bobbo: What are we going to do with an extra million dollars? We're okay. Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You can give it to me.

Bobbo: I could do that or I could give it to a guy who had an amazing season.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Bobbo: Shout out, Myles Garrett. You had two votes for the same award. um I don't think you need $2 million, dollars man. So enjoy your your award. These are super.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I think he probably won several additional million for breaking that sack record. Oh.

Bobbo: I think he got many, many zeros in his bank account from breaking that record. So we will give it to a guy who maybe doesn't have as many zeros in his bank account. And I hope that didn't come off offensively to my guy here, but.

Bobbo: My guy had a great season. And I did have Miles Garrett or blank, blank, blank. Just in case, because I figured Miles Garrett would be a very popular choice.

Mackenzie Forgacs: It's

Bobbo: I did that for two awards. My other award coming up next, I have two people as well.

Mackenzie Forgacs: hard.

Bobbo: So what we're doing is I was looking up...

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Bobbo: Stats on my guy. And this is someone i I'm assuming 75% of our listeners, which is thousands of people, um have not heard of this man. But I've heard of this man. And, well, if you thought I was done talking about the Bears, you're wrong. Because this guy is a Chicago Bear.

Bobbo: He's a safety. And he's old.

Mackenzie Forgacs: He's relentless, folks. He is freaking relentless, folks.

Bobbo: He's old. He's old.

Mackenzie Forgacs: yeah Oh, man. It's the last episode. Dang it. Dang it. Dang it.

Bobbo: Excuse me. This is someone who deserves it big time. Big time. And he's he's a little past his prime. He's 32.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Gordon?

Bobbo: Come again? coming coming in

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Bobbo: Not Gordon. Not Gordon. Good guess, though. So he's a little past his prime. He's 32. Past his prime, 32 is young. That's the age of your host. You're right. He's right in his prime.

Bobbo: Thank you. Good save. He was cast off by the Tennessee Titans a couple years ago. Bears picked him off the practice squad. And not only was he the anchor of our NFC North...

Bobbo: championship defense this year but he not only led the bears in interception he led the entire nfl and interceptions at seven kevin fired the third you are my defensive player of the year you're also one of my best friends thank you for all the laughs thank you for the giggles thank you for the highs this year. and let's, Hey, let's turn it into tender exceptions next, next year, Kevin, we appreciate you. You got a million dollars. I'll probably just drop it off this weekend, man. we'll see in a couple of days, but Kev, we love you.

Bobbo: Um, trophy and cash coming your way. And what a season, dude, what a season.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Wow. All right. Just when we thought we were done hearing about the bears, he brings them back up and we are here for it.

Bobbo: Oh, and if you thought we were done,

Mackenzie Forgacs: Thank you, Bob.

Bobbo: you You are so welcome. um And we're not done yet. Spoiler alert. Just kidding.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, gosh.

Bobbo: We are we just got really we we are done.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. All right. Well, we'll move on to our final award and I'll let you kick it off.

Bobbo: was

Mackenzie Forgacs: But before we do, it is time for the first word from our

Bobbo: going to do this. I was going to do this.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Sponsors. sponsor but can We need those sponsors.

Bobbo: I was going to do this.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Trust me, we need the freaking money flowing in. So

Bobbo: After all these millions that we're forking away, 10 million to be exact, we do need our sponsors. um So thank goodness for the first sponsor of this podcast. Finale episode of the 2025-2026 season. Super Bowl preview episode. Around kids all day.

Bobbo: They're coughing and sneezing. Everything they say. Not washing their hands. Oh, they're not using hand sanitizer. They got the flu, they're coming into school. They got strep throat, stay home. No, I'm not a fool. I'm coming into school. No matter what sicknesses I have.

Bobbo: Oh, it's February. The weather is negative 10. How the hell is a guy who's teaching a class supposed stay healthy in that land?

Bobbo: Emergency! Put it in your water. Emergency! Put it in your Coke. Emergency! It's gonna keep you healthy. Sneeze in my face all you want. Emergency. Keeping teachers, healthcare care workers, and just your everyday folk healthy since 1972.

Bobbo: Get your 12 back at your local Walgreens. 12 for $8.99. 24 for $6.99. Emergency!

Bobbo: couldn't stop. i could not stop.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Wow. I was just going to say, I think I just watched a feature film.

Bobbo: I could not stop. My mouth was moving. My brain was trying to catch up, and I i could not stop.

Mackenzie Forgacs: my gosh. That was so good. Great job. up Honestly, I was kind of vibing to it. That was pretty good.

Bobbo: I looked up. I was so into it. like I usually never see anything other than what ah is in my brain. And I could see kind jiving a little bit so

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah. I was diving for sure. Emergency. daddada Da da da da da. Emergency.

Bobbo: bit.

Mackenzie Forgacs: dada Da da da da da. You're in for a Grammy next year, I think, with that one.

Bobbo: I'm coming for Bad Bunny. I'm coming and coming for his Grammy because, yeah.

Mackenzie Forgacs: and

Bobbo: Thank you, Mac. Thank you for...

Mackenzie Forgacs: the The Super Bowl halftime show next year.

Bobbo: You know what? Bad Bunny, Grammy, then Super Bowl. Bob Wollin, Grammy, then Super Bowl. I like that. I'm going to follow in his footsteps. Well, thank you to Emergency and thank you to Mac for for making me feel like that was a good ad.

Bobbo: And Sumi didn't even bat an eye at that. She just slipped right through the whole dang thing.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, she didn't really move much, but I'm sure she was rude for you.

Bobbo: Well, i appreciate that, Sumi. Uncle Bob loves you as well. in Emergency, us teachers, and everybody loves you. So with that, she's

Mackenzie Forgacs: my gosh. So with that, Bob,

Bobbo: Should we hop into our Wave Maker of the Year?

Mackenzie Forgacs: let us know who you got.

Bobbo: Drum roll, please.

Bobbo: Coming in from Alpharetta George. Just kidding. Okay. My Wave Rider of the Year. Wave Maker of the Year. I think our Wave Rider of the Year would be between about three people who have been sticking with us, the real ones.

Bobbo: We should...

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, it's gotta be Paige. Shout out, Paige. We never give you enough shout outs, Paige, but it's gotta to be you.

Bobbo: yeah

Mackenzie Forgacs: You're definitely the wave rider of literally.

Bobbo: Our Wave Rider the Year is Paige. I thought no one listened, and I randomly would get a text from her about the episode. i'm like, Paige is still locked in.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes. Shout out, Paige.

Bobbo: So, Paige,

Mackenzie Forgacs: I'm pretty sure she's the only one that still listens. So this is for you, Paige.

Bobbo: Paige, we love you, we respect, and we appreciate you, and you're our Wave Rider of the Year. A million dollars Venmoing your from Mac tonight.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes. A million dollars. Wait, you said Venmo Mac?

Bobbo: No, Venmoed from Mac. So, Mac, you can handle that Venmo.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh.

Bobbo: Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No, sorry. I'm not the bookkeeper.

Bobbo: like Paige, if you're wondering about your your prize, just reach out to to Mackenzie.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Reach out to Bob.

Bobbo: Reach out to Mackenzie and she's got you hooked up. So that was our second last award of the night. Our last award wave maker of the year is a guy who has been around the block a couple of times.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes.

Bobbo: And he has been on two teams. He's been to the Super Bowl with one. He did not make the Super Bowl with the other team, but he most recently won his first Super Bowl. um He is as tough as they come. He's tough as nails. And for many years, he was Mack's favorite guy.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh.

Bobbo: ah He was traded to the West Coast, um and he took the Los Angeles Rams to the Super Bowl a couple years ago. He won it. And this year, he's most likely going to not only win,

Bobbo: the wave maker of the year, but he's going to win his first MVP of the year. This more important, obviously, but Matt Stafford doing it at almost 40 years old. He ripped my heart into shreds about three weeks ago with the that game winning drive to set up that field goal in overtime on that cold Sunday night.

Bobbo: But Matthew, what a season you had, man. And the craziest part of this is the last thing i'm goingnna say on Matt. if my computer's at 6%, so I'm going to grab my charger before it dies, is before the season, the Rams literally did not know if he was going to play this year. I don't know if you knew that, Mac.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.

Bobbo: But he had, like, back problems, and they were worried, like, internally, and then it leaked out of training camp that they didn't even know if he was going to get to play this year.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah. remember that.

Bobbo: And he had something crazy, like 40-some touchdowns and, like, seven interceptions. He led them to another playoff berth, two playoff wins. Matt Stafford is just, like... unstoppable, and he is a pretty worthy wave maker the year you ask me.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Absolutely.

Bobbo: Congrats, Matt.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, I couldn't agree more. So much so that I actually do not have a backup, unfortunately.

Bobbo: Oh, no.

Mackenzie Forgacs: he is going to receive $2 million, dollars Matthew. But i'mnna I'm going supplement a little bit with some of his stats just because I think they are so impressive.

Bobbo: the hell?

Mackenzie Forgacs: he As Bob said, he's he's one of the older quarterbacks in the league. He's played for two teams, obviously a huge staple in Detroit.

Bobbo: Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I definitely have still always played Really appreciated him and loved watching him. Still root for him whenever he's not playing the Lions, of course. And just really want to see him succeed.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And he definitely did that. He led the league this year in passing yards. he had four thousand He had 4,707 passing yards. He led the league in touchdown passes of 46.

Mackenzie Forgacs: He was only four points away from leading his team back to the second Super Bowl in four years. As Bob mentioned, he won back in, what was it? Or sorry, not four years, five years because he won back in 2021, something like that.

Bobbo: if he wants to write

Mackenzie Forgacs: um And so, yeah, it's just all of that. ah he He came out, he did it. He had a different looking team this year. Some some same guys, but some they lost. You know, Cooper Cupp was a huge staple on the Rams back when they won the Super Bowl. He's now gone. He found another stud in Pukunukua.

Mackenzie Forgacs: um And their their defense really let up a lot of points. So it was really on the offense to carry them a lot. Matthew did that above and beyond. And I do think he probably is retiring soon. So all of it well-deserved.

Mackenzie Forgacs: MVP, like you said, likely going to be the MVP for the NFL. And he's a double two-time award winner for Wavemaker of the Year. I'm sorry that was ah a repeat one, but i feel like that's a good one.

Bobbo: It's a very good one. So, wow, him and Miles Garrett are just absolutely cleaning up on our award show. Wow, Matt, our first ever double, not only second time, but double.

Bobbo: So now he's got three Wavemaker of the Year awards with mine and Maxon this year.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.

Bobbo: So MVP, but more importantly, two Wavemaker of the Year's $2 million dollars and two shouts out on our last episode there episode of the season. So congrats, Matt.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Absolutely. All right. Yeah. Exciting. Sorry, i didn't have a backup there. But like you said, I think, think he's a well, well deserving recipient. See, he seems like just a really great guy. And actually, one of us met him one time and he was a really good guy.

Bobbo: he He was really great renting a car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car. And for that, Matt, I know you remember that really, really great conversation and um that that interaction. Great guy. um Nice to hear from you and and talk to you again, Matt. And I don't work at Enterprise, but stop over at Daystar Academy anytime, and I'd i'd love to i'd love to show you around the digs.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, and I'm very appreciative to my best friend. I have an autographed, ripped piece of paper from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and it's framed. So pretty exciting.

Bobbo: I was say, what is that not on the wall behind you? Where where is that? Is that? Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, that's over in my lion's corner.

Bobbo: I was

Mackenzie Forgacs: Unfortunately, you can't see it. The computer doesn't turn that way. But you can see when you come visit in March.

Bobbo: going to say, when I'm there next month, I'll expect to see it with no dust on it and see it up on the.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Definitely none. None whatsoever.

Bobbo: Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So, yep. Perfect.

Bobbo: Amazing.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfect.

Bobbo: Well, congrats to all our award winners for the year. And without further ado, moments.

Mackenzie Forgacs: o Let's get down to brass tacks, baby.

Bobbo: that well Let's get down to brass tacks. The moment we've been waiting for for a couple weeks now since we finished the last episode that we did. If me and Mac choose the same team, Mac wins and I have to eat veggies for a day.

Bobbo: If we do not, we'll have to find out on Sunday who wins and who's eating vegetables. So how are we going to do this? I'm

Mackenzie Forgacs: So I'm happy to start. I trust you. i feel like we have the honor system here.

Bobbo: going to write it down because I have not wrote it down. Will will you pet me first?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. And I have mine typed in my phone.

Bobbo: Okay, will you pet some for a second so you can't see my my arms moving as I'm writing it?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep. Yep. I'll put it in for sec while she's sleeping. So i'm just going to turn around.

Bobbo: Oh, you turned right when I was writing.

Bobbo: Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: already have mine typed in my phone. So as long as you don't see me typing on my phone, you're good.

Bobbo: Okay, I'm ready.

Mackenzie Forgacs: or do you want me to write it down? Is that better?

Bobbo: Nope, I believe you. Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, honor system. I'll go ahead and start. I trust you. totally, I toyed with this a little bit.

Bobbo: Okay. Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Do I go with my gut of who I think is gonna win? Do I go with my gut of who you think I think is gonna win and then pick the opposite?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Do I try to get strategy or do I try to just believe in the team that I'm choosing and just really full-fledged dive into rooting for them on Sunday and just hoping for the best outcome and hoping I don't have to eat vegetables?

Bobbo: I'm

Mackenzie Forgacs: It was tough. Like I said, I went back and forth for a little while. What do I do here? What do i do And you know what I decided to choose is I decided you what?

Bobbo: going to try not to react. I'm going to try not to react. I'm going try not to react because to do the same thing to you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I decided to look inward and look at my gut, my gut that tells me these things. And my gut sometimes tells me, yeah, screw with Bob. And my gut sometimes tells me, you know what, pick who you think is going to win.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So what I did is I went with who I truly do believe is going to win because I do have an advantage here going to this week. I have the one point advantage. So if I choose who I truly believe is going to win, then as long as they win, then I'm good to go. And I'm just putting all my eggs into that basket.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Or I'm putting all of my eggs in the basket to mess with Bob because I know he knows who I'm going to pick. So did I pick the other team?

Mackenzie Forgacs: I did not. I picked the Seattle Seahawks. And I am going with the team that I truly believe is going to win. And Sam Darnold is going to get it done for a brand new team.

Mackenzie Forgacs: This team has looked fully electric throughout the entire playoffs. I completely think that's going to continue. And I'm going with the boys in blue and green from out west, the Seattle Seahawks for the Super Bowl championship.

Bobbo: Okay, my heart is pumping a million miles a minute. Is it because I'm absolutely Was I reacting like that because I was heartbroken and I have to eat vegetables?

Mackenzie Forgacs: There were a lot of reactions and I don't know if you were messing with me or what you were doing. So take the floor.

Bobbo: Or was I reacting like that because, for once, I might have seen the mousetrap and the cheese and decided not to take the cheese? Or did I take the cheese and not get caught?

Bobbo: Did she get me again, folks? Is it a tale as old as time? 2026, New Year, same us. Well, I also toyed with things. I thought, would I go with the team that I think is going to win because Matt's going to double cross and go with the team, which we both think the the Seahawks are going to win.

Bobbo: I think that's that's pretty safe. And I thought, should I just go with the team because if Matt goes Patriots and then I also go Patriots, I would be putting my head through a concrete wall thinking, wow, that would that was backwards.

Mackenzie Forgacs: yes

Bobbo: I thought over it. I didn't think about it for a while since we've been on this podcast, thinking, let me try to read her vibes, what's going on. And you seem pretty, I read you as pretty confident, pretty comfortable in your pick, which is why I went with the Patriots.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You're going with the Patriots.

Bobbo: So we don't have a winner or a loser yet.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Love it. We do indeed.

Bobbo: And I still think...

Mackenzie Forgacs: And honestly, i there was a part of me that, there was a really big part of me that thought you would go with them just because I have been so open about choosing the Seahawks and my confidence in them.

Bobbo: one

Mackenzie Forgacs: And I just thought, you know what, if I'm that confident in them, I just got to pick them. So yeah.

Bobbo: You know what? may May the odds be in your favor. um hope you ah Hope your team that you're confident ends up winning.

Mackenzie Forgacs: May they be in years.

Bobbo: Not, not. Come on, Patriots. Need this. Let's end the year with a win. There was too much heartbreak in the playoffs. Come on.

Bobbo: I don't want to the Patriots.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Can I ask, so you did you did mention that you think we both believe the Seahawks will win. What do you think the odds are heading in for both the teams?

Bobbo: I don't feel good about um the Patriots winning. I think that... The Seahawks are probably going to be favored by a touchdown. And I think if Vegas is putting odds on who's going end up eating vegetables, um you're probably like a minus 200.

Bobbo: So I don't feel good because I do think the Seahawks are going win. i feel pretty confident in it But I'm be cheering my little heart out for the the Patriots. And yeah all i wanted is a chance going into tonight, and I got my chance.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You got a chance. And honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way because it'd be literally the season would be over today if we picked the same. So I'm really glad we picked separate. We both got something to root for on Sunday and may the best host win.

Bobbo: May the best man or woman win, the best host win. And we're excited to update you all on what vegetable we did at the start of next season, how awful that was.

Bobbo: And, Mac, I'm just – I'm sorry in advance, and i hope you can, you know, be okay with ah the rants once the whole day slash night.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, yeah, yeah. At least I have that to fall back on, so. 100%.

Bobbo: Exactly. Well, Mac, this was literally the best as always.

Mackenzie Forgacs: and

Bobbo: I really liked our setup of like just letting it letting it rip whenever we have time in our busy schedules. Always the best to be on here talking football with my best friend. And ah it's goingnna be going to be a bummer having months of no football and no making waves.

Bobbo: But we'll be back next fall anew.

Mackenzie Forgacs: hundred

Bobbo: And can't wait to ah dive right in for a year, what is it, year four or five?

Mackenzie Forgacs: think it'd be year four because we took a year off. It'd be year four recording, year five since we started, I think.

Bobbo: We did.

Bobbo: Okay. Amazing. Well, we also appreciate you, Wave Riders, Paige, and we wouldn't do it without you guys.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Couldn't agree more. Thanks for dealing with our shenanigans per usual, tuning in in our very wonky schedule. We know there were a lot of weeks off and things like that.

Bobbo: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: But you still showed up, Paige, to listen. And of course, all you listeners out in Norway as well really still showed up.

Bobbo: of course, yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Appreciate it. And yeah, it's been another great year. Had a blast with you, Bob. And we'll just have to pivot and talk about real life things and not football the time now.

Bobbo: I guess we can just be normal best friends talking about normal things for the next seven months until football's back.

Mackenzie Forgacs: guess so.

Bobbo: We can make it work.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right.

Bobbo: Well, Mac, thanks for another great season. And until next September, peace.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Peace.

Bobbo: Oh, man.

Bobbo: Go Bears. Go Bears.

Mackenzie Forgacs: for a very special last-minute ad this last episode is brought to you by the very healthy bank account of Bob and i making waves. We're excited to announce that we can sponsor our own podcast now.

Mackenzie Forgacs: It's the last episode of making waves, but you don't have to be afraid. You can tune anytime.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Your favorite listening device or Spotify.

Bobbo: Oh.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Hey, hey, hey. It's the last step episode of making waves, but you don't have to be alarmed. It's the last episode, we'll see you next year. All I want to say is peace to you and yours.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Peace!

Bobbo: You were trying to rhyme that so hard.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, have no idea what a rhyme award.

Bobbo: Mac, that was really good. And I hope, Paige, text us if you're still listening. Anybody else? nor Norway fans, text if you're still listening. That was a very special ad. Thank you for doing that. I was going to do that the whole episode.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I literally right after I went, oh shoot.

Bobbo: We literally reacted at the same time. That was a special episode.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, okay. For real this time.

Bobbo: Are we still? Oh, peace!

Mackenzie Forgacs: Peace.
