Speaker: Welcome to the Solarpreneur Podcast, where we teach you to take your solar business to the next level. My name is Taylor Armstrong. I went from $50 in my bank account and struggling for groceries to closing 150 deals in the year and cracking the code on why sales reps fell.

Speaker: I teach you avoid the mistakes I made and bring in the top solar dogs of the industry to let you in on the secrets of generating more leads, falling up like a pro, and closing more deals.

Speaker: What is a solopreneur, you might ask? A solopreneur is a new breed of solopro that is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve mastery, and you are about to become one. Hey, what's up, guys? We're back with another podcast. Last week, I had the biggest day I've had to this date in my solopreneur.

Speaker: was able to get five deals in one day. so I'm going to talk about what I did, some things that I maybe changed up a little bit to have a really big day. Welcome the podcast. My name is Taylor Armstrong. We're here here to help you close more deals, generate more leads and referrals, and have a much better day in the solar industry.

Speaker: Hopefully your best day ever. um And so let's get into it. If you have not left us a review before, please go leave us a review on Apple, iTunes, Spotify. Would mean so much. It's been a little bit since we've had some ah new fresh reviews. i know people are watching on different platforms.

Speaker: But we always leave love seeing where you're coming from as well as feedback, as well as suggestions for guests. i Hit us with it. That being said, yeah, i want to jump into a few things that helped me have a really good week last week.

Speaker: For me, it was five deals in a day. My previous best was four deals in a day. And so um did a couple of things different. I'm going share with you. I know people have done crazy amounts of deals.

Speaker: We've had a guest on that, you know, my guy Ashton Buswell, he did, I think it was 21 deals in a day. So I'm not quite there yet, but hey, five deals in a day. i still consider that a great day and was happy with the results.

Speaker: um the For on the week, was able to get eight deals. That week was bombed because my previous best was eight deals back when I got my Golden Door Award.

Speaker: And I think it was 2019. And so was so close to breaking that record. so Saturday came around, was that eight deals by Saturday and needed one more deal to break the record.

Speaker: And was so close with one. Got him credit approved, signed like half of the first document we needed we needed him to sign. And then he's like, ah i don't sign anything until I and i sleep on it.

Speaker: and tried pushing them through a few things a few times. Didn't work. So ended the week with eight. Couldn't break the weekly record. But hey, I'll take a five spot in a day. um Always a good day.

Speaker: So here's a couple of things that I did different. Okay, the first thing was we stacked appointments for that day. hey um So this was Thursday, right? And I had, I think, two deals up to that point.

Speaker: Thursday came around and it actually happened because one appointment we had On the Monday, he scheduled Thursday morning. Actually, you know what I guess was Friday. Friday. He scheduled Friday because he wanted to sign up some rental properties.

Speaker: And so we went there Friday morning and ah we had... the first three deals on the day because we signed up three properties. um So that started off before 10 So that's another side note.

Speaker: If you can start as early as possible, the earlier earlier the better to have a big day. Starting at 8 a.m. is crazy. 10 o'clock rolls around. We still got all day to go close deals, to generate same days appointments.

Speaker: And so that was I haven't been in an 8 a.m. appointment for quite a while, not going to lie. So it was pretty refreshing to come out. It's like not even 10 o'clock. We already got three deals on the day.

Speaker: So if you can start early, it's going to give you a great shot at having a bigger day. And so whenever you're trying to have the big day, should be every day, right? But try to set the appointments earlier, right? i think for me, there is this kind of maybe, i don't know unspoken rule that you couldn't set appointments before 10 a.m., maybe 9 a.m. the earliest.

Speaker: But if they're down for it, Why not set appointments at 8 a.m.? So shout out to the guy that set the appointments. um His name, Andrew, and hes he's the one that set it up for eight.

Speaker: So I don't think I would have set it up myself for that time. Matter of fact, I think I tried to push it for a little bit later, but it was the time that this guy wanted. So I'm like, all right, let's do it. It ended up being a great thing.

Speaker: Hey, so we set the appointment early. We went to correlation after that 10 a.m. And then by noon, still had all day long to get appointments. So um actually went to three more of that day, went to one.

Speaker: yeah I think it was just a battery appointment. They wanted add a battery. So that one ended up not closing. Then I went to the second one for the afternoon. Super solid guy. just had a few questions and was ready to go. Got him lined up.

Speaker: Then the third one, um it was the same day by one of our guys, Rosenberg. So we went there, got that one locked down and ended the night about 830. think it was.

Speaker: So, yeah, we could have even set appointments for later. So really that day had potential for even more deals. Just ah ran out appointments on the day. OK, so um start your day early. Stack appointments all for one day.

Speaker: That's the first tip. First secret to having a big day. Okay, the second thing, as you heard in the here in the beginning, this first deal, had rental properties.

Speaker: So another thing that was kind of eye-opening is not only can you close one deal, but if someone has rental properties, you can potentially stack those things and get a three for one, four for one.

Speaker: So this guy, we actually closed his first home as a primary residence. We closed him on Monday. And then Friday, we set up the time to sign up the three other properties. And he actually had one other property we just couldn't get the bill for. it So we we could have stacked that and had four for one. But, ah you know, ended up being three for one. I think we're signing up the fourth property this week.

Speaker: um But yeah, if you can figure out if someone has rental properties, ah make sure you were asking about those. Hey, um i a lot of times we get in the habit of just closing the deal. It's in front of us. But hey, if someone has rental properties, um they have referrals,

Speaker: That should be the first question when it comes to referrals, right? Is, hey, do you guys have other properties? Do you own any other properties? Hey, I know myself, I always ask for referrals, but a lot of times I'm not asking if for referrals that could be their own property.

Speaker: That could be such an easy sell, right? If you have more properties, why not do it for the other properties? That's secret number two, setting yourself for up for a huge day. ah You give them a better deal, you offer them the referral bonus if they sign up their other properties.

Speaker: That's exactly what we did. Customer was super happy. We signed up his other properties, gave him a great deal as doing like a bundle deal altogether. and i Had a big day because of it. So don't sleep on the rental properties.

Speaker: And then the third tip is make sure you get a team ah that's helping you. Hey, in this case, actually all my deals last week were from our setter. We got some setters that are just balling out right now. So shout out to them they're listening to this. Andrew Rosenberg, few guys that are just setting really good quality appointments and getting out there.

Speaker: So definitely helps if you're closer listening to this. If you want to have a really big day, it's going to help you lot to have some centers. Hey, and ah you know, I'm all about self-genning actually.

Speaker: ah Previous this year, it's actually been mostly self-gen appointments, self-gen deals for me. If you can get some centers that are cranking, all it takes is really one or two baller centers.

Speaker: and you can have a stacked calendar, right? You can set yourself for some massive success, massive appointments in one day. So get your setters, treat them well, treat them like gold.

Speaker: Hey, our guys, we're actually doing an incentive this week. You can try it out with your team where we're giving them $50 per bill that they get. um You know, you can do it based on sits, but we're just incentivizing that first step, getting a solid bill or a solid appointment, I should say, that includes a bill.

Speaker: Do something like that. Get your guys cranking, get them some some momentum. and you can easily have a massive day. Okay, so whenever you're listening to this, I hope you can go out and set a goal to build some massive momentum. At the time of this recording, we're coming on some of the deadlines with Trump's big, beautiful bill.

Speaker: We should all be selling just a boatload right now because we have all the urgency in the world. ah Credits may be expiring. There's no better time for people to go slower than now. So if you want to have a big day, if you want to have a big week, that's the first thing.

Speaker: Have that urgency in yourself. you get out there, you make the decision that's going to be a great week, it's going to be a massive day, and then do the other things on top of that. Get your setters going, stack your appointments for one day, start early if you can, start as early as you can, maybe set the earliest appointment for 8am, the latest one for 8 or 9pm, you could even do earlier.

Speaker: I've had my earliest appointment ever was a 6am appointment. Hey, don't love those ones, but it's 6 a.m. appointment, whatever it takes. So stack your appointments all day long as early as possible as if if you can, and then ah be out there all day.

Speaker: And if you can figure out if they have other properties, get some referrals, schedule them for all in one day, you're going to have a massive breakthrough. So I hope that helps. Go out and have yourself a big, big week.

Speaker: Hope you get ah insane sales during all this urgency we have. And ah make sure you tune in next podcast. We actually have a returning guest. Her name's Amanda Berry. She was on, I think about three years ago now.

Speaker: but she talks about something a little controversial. And ah so she's already hit a megawatt in sales for this year alone, six months into the year. So definitely going want to check it out.

Speaker: Stay tuned. That's coming up next episode. And happy selling this week. Go get them. We'll see you in the next episode. So some of you already know that I run my own door-to-door sales team here in San Diego.

Speaker: And as we are gearing up for the summer, I realized if we do the same thing we always did, we're going to get the same results. But if I want to increase my deal flow, I need to do something different to get an advantage.

Speaker: Then we discovered an app called Solar Scout. But it's not a door knocking app. It's a data platform that shows us who is likely to go solar in our market. It shows us who has previously applied for solar but later canceled the deal, who has moved in recently, and even how much electricity the homes are using in a given neighborhood.

Speaker: It's been working for a lot of teams across the country and now I'm on board too. I'm going to be one of the first to use SolarScout in San Diego, so I decided to partner up. But I told them, hey, I'm going to talk about SolarScout on my show. you need to give my listeners a great deal. And they did.

Speaker: So go to solarscout.app forward slash Taylor and book a demo with them and you'll get 10% off your first month when you sign up. That's solarscout.app forward slash Taylor.

Speaker: Okay, back to the show.

Speaker: What's up, solarpreneurs? Hope you enjoyed the episode. Before you run out and start selling more solar yourself, wanted to let you know about an exciting new cheat sheet we created specifically for you in mind.

Speaker: One of the top questions I get asked on Instagram, on Facebook, by our listeners is, Taylor, where should I start? What episodes should I listen to in the podcast? You got too many podcasts, man, because now we have over 200 episodes.

Speaker: So what we've done, we created the top 10 most downloaded, most listened to, and i would say widely accepted, most useful podcasts that we've done here on Solapreneur.

Speaker: We put them together all in one sheet so you can go, you can hit the ground running, especially if you're new, you do not want to not have this sheet. So go download it right now. It's going to be at top10.solarpreneurs.com. Again, that's top10, the number 10,.solarpreneurs.com. Don't forget the S on solarpreneurs. We will have that in the show notes. Go download it right now.

Speaker: And especially if you have not listened to them, go listen to them and you can re-listen to them. That's going to show you how. So go download it and we'll see you on the other side.
