Pizza Party Plans at Sven's

00:00:35
Speaker
So, So this weekend we are going to Sven's for a pizza party. Make your own pizza? A make your own pizza party. He, I don't even think I told you about this, probably not, but there was like a local pizza place. Sven knows literally everyone. He was the postman here for like a long time and when he was in the military he was also like postal.
00:01:08
Speaker
So he literally knows everyone and anytime something happens people will call and be like, Sven, do you want this thing? Or hey, this is going on. So this pizza place was shutting down and they called him and they were like, hey, Would you or do you know someone that would want our whole kitchen pizza oven from the restaurant? He has this huge garage like behind his house. Half of it is a fucking pizza kitchen. Oh my god. So we're having the first Make Your Own Pizza party of the year on Saturday for the big FC Co. game, which is a soccer game or football, depending on where you're from.
00:01:46
Speaker
yeah We call it football in Germany. yeah so We're going to be watching the championship game and making our own pizzas and hanging out in the garden because they have a huge projector screen in the garden to watch it on.

DIY Pizza Challenges and Tips

00:01:59
Speaker
I love that. Oh my gosh. I mean, love a fucking brick oven pizza. Saves, man. And here's my thing. I am not a fan of make your own pizza, like DIY pizza at home. like i Because unless you're going to, yeah, because it's like, I mean, I will eat the shit out of a fucking frozen pizza. like You give me that, I will eat that all day long. But if you want me to make it myself with that shitty store-bought dough and the shitty ingredients,
00:02:27
Speaker
It just never comes out right to me. It never tastes good. I don't understand how to get the sauce to taste good. I have tried so many different things and I can't. I am too lazy to make my own dough, so I'm supposed to do that. Mauro and Sofia, our friends out here, he's a straight Italian from Italy, Italian. He will make us Italian dishes. He loves to cook. So like the other day, he made his he called. And we were supposed to go over in the afternoon and ended up like being pushed later because the dough wasn't rising because the temperature wasn't right. He made his own dough that morning. made on He has a little like pizza maker thing. like It's a tiny pizza oven for inside. yeah And so he you know he just like, you can pop one in. And then by the time you take that one out, you pop the next one in. And they take like four to five minutes to cook in there.

Pizza Oven Acquisition

00:03:22
Speaker
oh my So good.
00:03:23
Speaker
Yeah and then we bought a Blackstone because the base put them on sale for like nothing. Those things are normally like $500 and I think we paid up like $150 for the big one. Damn! Yeah I know I was like uh we can't pass that up. What do you see if the VX has them? Yeah I know it's like a Memorial Day week sale is what AP said here. Hell yeah! Yeah we went and bought the big one because it was so fucking cheap like normally 600 bucks like five six hundred bucks. And Anthony went online because they have all these different like attachments that you can buy for them. And one of them is a pizza oven. You take the the griddle off and you put the pizza oven on top of it on the burners. Yeah. So we are just waiting for that to get here. But I'm excited. I love that. um Whenever I come visit, I want to have pizza at both places.
00:04:13
Speaker
Yes, both friends. Well, all three places. You got set with a pizza kitchen tomorrow with his little pizza maker and being Italian and making full traditional Italian pizzas. And then you got us who will just throw some shit in a pizza oven. I love it. but look We're going to do it. Yeah, I can't wait.

Weekend Trip to Osaka and Universal Studios

00:04:35
Speaker
It sounds like that. And then your weekend plans are going to be so fun. Oh yeah, they're going to be fun. I forgot already. um Yeah, so we are going to Osaka. I'm excited. So we're going to have like ah day like two days of exploring Osaka and then one day at Universal Studios with the kids, in which it's going to be fun because they have like some
00:04:57
Speaker
things that they don't have in the States. So they have like, um I guess is Jaws ride, which I think yeah they used to have a Jaws ride in the States, but they don't anymore. Is it the one where you like go through and the shark like pops out of the water and you're in a boat? Yes, they don't have that one. yeah I wanted to go. We went, I don't know, years ago to Universal in Florida, and they didn't have it anymore. And I was like, Oh, you have to come visit me and now. I know. no We do need to start planning. Yes, and they have like a well they have a Harry Potter area. which i mean I love the Harry Potter stuff and I will absolutely go on the rides and everything. like We're going to do the one... I can't remember what it's called. It's like the Hogwarts Adventure or something where it's like um you're on the broomstick or doing that one. I can't remember what it's called, um but I'm really excited for it. They have a demon slayer, whole like part of the park that they've opened up. Yes. I'm really excited about that part.
00:05:57
Speaker
So, we'll see how it is. I think you'll have a lot of fun. I can't wait to see all the pictures and hear all the stories. Yes, I'm

Cancer Season Insights

00:06:05
Speaker
excited. But we're not talking about Universal Studios today, or music. We're not. We're talking about cancer season. Yay! And my bestie is a cancer, so. It's always my husband's daughter. Yeah, going through this, I was like, oh, this makes so much sense, my little emotional bestie. yeah same and then some of the things i'm just like okay i can see where this is coming from and other things i'm like that doesn't really fit her personality yet but maybe you know obviously her other chart
00:06:38
Speaker
Placements have a lot to do with personality, but for the most part, she really fits in with exactly what it says a cancer is. You should go on Astro Yogi. They have a tab for cancer teens because they break it down by teens, women, and men. And then they have like the overarching like characteristics and personality, love life career, like all of that. I love that website. It breaks things down so well. I'm going to have to go read up on the teens because that would be so interesting to see. how um she fits in with that. Yeah, yeah. It's in the, obviously, the link is in our show notes, so you can just go and like click that. And anyone else, if you have a teenage cancer in your life or a male cancer or a female cancer in your life, it breaks it down for the different like, there's like small differences based on those things. And it's really interesting to see that.
00:07:33
Speaker
So, starting out like we normally do with the cut, the cut says of Cancer Season that if Gemini's season has been stressing you out with its bottomless capacity for chaos, if you're tired of your attention always being drawn in a hundred directions at once, or if you're just ready to stop making so much small talk, Cancer Season is here to offer some relief. Over the next month, you can reconnect with your roots, your loved ones, and your deepest emotions. You can rediscover how fulfilling your rich inner life is.
00:08:05
Speaker
Also, the cut is real stingy with their articles because i'm I've had to log in on different Google accounts just to read these articles. Do you have to pay again? No, I paid a dollar for that one i think ah because it was Capricorn. I was like, I'm going to give you this dollar. But yeah, I had to log in under um my brother and I I have been talking about like doing a podcast together and we created a Google account and like set everything up for whenever our ADDs powers combine and it happens. So I had to log in on that to go on to the cut and read this fucking article because I tried to do it under um my personal Google account and it was like, you have reached your limit. And I was like, maybe it'll revert on
00:08:52
Speaker
our Get In Loser account and it was like, absolutely not. You have to pay. And I was like, mother of Pearl, I just want to read this article. We only have a few left. Just let me get through these. yes but yeah So really kicking it off, getting into some of the background and symbolism. Cancer season runs from June 21st to July 20th. Although I will say I like read a bunch of different articles. I didn't use all of them, but some of them say through July 22nd. So I'm not really sure. It's either July 20th or 22nd.
00:09:25
Speaker
And it's the first sign of summer and the first water sign of the year. Yes. And also, this is the time of the year when the sun's heat and light are at its peak, at least in the Northern Hemisphere. And whenever I was reading more about this, it was like, this relates back to cancer season because like you know this is the the time of year where it's like the Earth is really nurturing and like ah super abundant, and it ties right back into cancer season, at least in the Northern Hemisphere. And so I was like, oh, I love that. For us, that makes so much sense. Yeah. It's awesome. So the ruling planet of cancer is the moon and their symbol is the

Exploring Cancer Traits

00:10:01
Speaker
crab. Cancer is a cardinal water sign and water symbolizes depth and wavering behaviors, meaning that during cancer season, you might feel a drifting sensation between reality and imagination, which can bring like confusion and worry, which I thought that was kind of interesting.
00:10:18
Speaker
That is interesting. I never thought about like the fact that it's a water sign and like you think about like the ebb and flow of water and like the ebb and flow of emotions during this season. It made so much sense reading it. Yeah, I love that. That little metaphor is really perfect. It fits. Yeah. So the house it's associated with is the fourth house, which is tight with the home and memory. The body parts associated with cancer season are the stomach, brain, and breasts, and the tarot card at the that is tied to cancer season is the chariot. The ruling planet is the moon, the mantra is I feel, and the colors are silver and white. And so just to briefly touch on a little bit of lore and myths surrounding cancer season and the symbolism of the crab, the constellation of cancer and the symbol of the crab have been have many roots to ancient civilizations.
00:11:10
Speaker
And so as an example, in ancient Babylon, it was associated with the scarab, which was the symbol of immortality. And a scarab is kind of like a beetle thing, but it's like a crustacean-y beetle thing. So it kind of like is similar to a crab, but not really because it's like an insect. but I mean, crabs are kind of like insects. Basically, yeah, it was like, oh, this makes sense. It's like pretty similar. And so I'm like, oh, yeah, that does kind of make sense. But as I'm saying it now, I'm like, does that really make sense? It is. My mother doesn't really, I mean, she does now, but when I was younger, she never really ate seafood at Grocer out. And she said like crab shrimp, crawdads, like all of those like types of creatures were the insects of the sea. So I mean, I could absolutely see that.
00:11:54
Speaker
Babylonians believed that the god Cancer was there to guide the passage through the underworld and death. And so kind of like a nurturing like, here you go, let me help you on your journey, which I thought was cool. And the crab as a symbol has its root in Greek legends. And so like the story of Hercules battling the Hydra. In this story, Karkanos the crab was sent by Hera to distract him and give the Hydra an advantage. And Hercules ends up killing Karkanos when he bites or when Karkanos bites Hercules on the foot.
00:12:25
Speaker
And so because Karkanos was willing to risk their own life on Hera's bidding, they were placed in the heavens as the constellation. So look at that selfless act. So also related to a little bit more of the symbolism and lore of the element of water, water is the second the heaviest element thought by ancient astrologers. Water represents this connection that and that principle that ties us all together with all forms of nature. And so without it, they say that nothing can take material form and can stick together. so
00:12:59
Speaker
water fertilizes the earth and it has its ties into cancer's affinity for nurturing and caring because we all need water to survive. And then for the moon, as a symbol, you know we mentioned already the moon is a ruler of cancer and it is associated with intuition and emotions. Additionally, those with a moon and cancer, regardless of gender identity, will have a strong maternal protective, emotive, and psychic energy to their nature, which I thought was really interesting. i one of the It might have been the cut because I always read their full articles because they're fucking funny, but yeah they talked about how the moon was the ruler of cancer and the moon is the moodiest planet, which makes sense because cancer is the moodiest of the zodiac.
00:13:44
Speaker
pack Yeah. So moving on to some characteristics. Cancers are a sign of mothering energy, so they often feel a greater desire to nurture and care for others. Oftentimes it's said that cancer will avoid confrontation, and just in general, like they just don't like conflict at all. Which, reading this, i'm I like was laughing because Julia will text me and be like, give me your Capricorn energy. i need to like One time it was like, I just need to tell my hairdresser that I didn't like my hair. And I'm like, just tell her you pay I pay money for this. Fix my fucking shit the way I want it. As a cancer rising, I 1,000%.
00:14:29
Speaker
feel it in my bones, conflict, I will run away from it. Like and me i'm like what you say like literally like I will run from it and I will get really anxious about it unless like it I get really, really mad and my Aries is like, the fuck you won't and so I'm also like very protective of my friends too so like if we're in public anywhere and somebody like says some shit I'm like what did you say it do we have beef because I think we have beef yeah and I'm like in the corner crying I'm like you look what you did I'm gonna beat your ass
00:15:03
Speaker
Yeah. How dare you?
00:15:07
Speaker
So coming back to, you know, the top of your hand here. It wouldn't be one of our episodes if we didn't derail a few times. Exactly. Just, you know, it has to happen. Cancers are known as the roots kind of people. So like, quote unquote, like they want to be the roots. They take pleasure in the comforts of home and of the family. They are maternal, as we've mentioned already, I think a few times, domestic, and love to nurture others. And they will often have a large family too, which I thought was interesting. So whether this be a biological family, so like lots of children, or a found family with lots of friends who become family, they're also associated with, as I mentioned, the fourth house of home and memory. And I mention this again because they are the zodiac sign most likely
00:16:00
Speaker
to uphold traditions in the home. And they also have a great memory as well. And they will remember everything like a fucking elephant. And I'm going to tell you right now that is 100% a fact because my kid does not forget anything. So do you remember that one time? And then she'll tell me this whole thing. And I'm like, i that has never happened. And she's like, yes, it has. And then she'll be so upset that I don't remember. And I'm like, I have no clue. I don't remember. And you're like, ah. That's a good thing about me. I'm like, I have a bird brain. Yeah. Cancers are also typically the sign that people will naturally gravitate toward and they are the ones that people will tend to open up to quickly or say things like, I feel like I could tell you anything whenever they've just met them because they give off that like nurturing aura. I love that. And again, confirm. Julia's probably the only person that I was like immediately friends with.
00:16:54
Speaker
Aww. I love that. Yeah, she's my little platonic soulmate.
00:17:01
Speaker
So, Cancers, in terms of their likes, they admire people who respect their elders and associate with people who are close with their family. They like to demonstrate their feelings and are very expressive. They love art, history, ancient artifacts, and they're drawn towards old monuments or places of historical events. And they love water. Surprise, surprise. like I was cracking up when I read that. I was like, no. yeah um um In terms of dislikes, they dislike being away from their home. They're like major home bodies. They dislike arguments or being drug in the middle of other people's arguments. And they often tend to lean away from the modern era, apparently.
00:17:50
Speaker
which I found interesting. Yeah, it said like, like basically anything modern. like They like the things that make life easier. But if they're going to watch a movie, it would more likely be a period drama or something like in a historical event versus like something in the future or like robots. or are you know like It was a really interesting take on that. And I was like, that's interesting. I will put that in the notes, but i I don't know why. I wonder if this is because, i like I mentioned, I'm a Cancer Rising and I absolutely love
00:18:22
Speaker
everything in that sentence, everything. Yeah, yeah you um you do have like an affinity for like more like the period dramas, the classics. the so As far as like their positive traits, cancers tend to be very creative individuals. In terms of emotions, they like honesty, they display a range of feelings, and they have great instincts. Cancers are very loving and affectionate and are known as the Zodiac's most sensitive sign, which, like you see a lot of times in memes, it'll be like, cancers cry all the time. They're just sensitive little babies, okay? Yeah. They're funny, enthusiastic, thoughtful, adventurous, and indulgent. They're spontaneous and they rely on their intuition to make those decisions. And they are extremely loyal and faithful.
00:19:10
Speaker
oh And so Tiffany has already mentioned that cancer is a cardinal sign and as a cardinal sign, they take leadership as the sign being the most nurturing, protective and caretaking, which is interesting out of all of the, you know, nurturing signs out there. um They are the top dog, baby. prominent to many cancers is the focus on forming and maintaining family ties and they're naturally empathetic and sentimental. They're kind and gentle, giving, and they're always ready to host and always welcoming to those in need. And so you'll always have a seat at their table. They, it reminds me of like that type of mom that like, say if you're outside playing with their kids or something and it's time for dinner, they, she will just put it,
00:19:56
Speaker
ah a plate at the table for you. like That is a cancer mom. And because of their empathetic abilities, they may also be able to sense what others need long before they have said something, which I thought was really cool. Moving on to the negative, which is not the fun part, but you know, we all have them, so it's fine. Yes. They are often known to have a moody attitude. They do not trust easily, especially in relationships. When wronged, they can become petulant and resentful. Cancers are said to be clingy in that they're over-imaginative, which will cause them to cling to the situation and become obsessed. And their mood swings and vulnerability can cause them to be unpredictable.
00:20:36
Speaker
Yeah. And they may find it hard to let go of personal items that no longer serve them because of the sentimental value they placed on that item. And this is something that 1,000% my daughter does. And it's frustrating to me because I'm just like, why do you still have this? She's like, why do you still want this? like i like And I'm just like, this is trash. And she's like, no, this is mine. This is my thing. And I have a spot for it right there. And that's where it goes. And I'm just like, oh my god. um And because of how giving they are, they may find themselves in situations where they are giving too much and may even find themselves in relationships where they're constantly giving and not receiving or getting their cup filled as well. And it might take them a little while to notice this. And while it's, you know, obviously it's it's positive to be, you know, nurturing and fill other people's cups,
00:21:20
Speaker
you also need to have that self-awareness to make sure that you are also taking care of yourself. And because people are always opening up to them, they may also struggle with releasing toxic energy and they may need more help in protecting their psyche from toxic people and environments. So moving on to the love life and careers section.

Cancer's Family and Relationship Focus

00:21:41
Speaker
In life, cancers are known to be the home bodies of the zodiac, which we've already mentioned, and they have an incessant need to love and be loved. Their life tends to revolve around their family.
00:21:52
Speaker
They're said to have a heart of gold that they proudly wear on their sleeves and they love to help people. Cancers are also said to hold on to their secrets, to be preserved and kept hidden forever. And they don't tend to open up easily to others and understanding them can be a task in and of itself. But if you can get a cancer to open up, you're guaranteed to have fun. In terms of love, cancers are said to be as complex as their symbol, the crab. They're tough and hard on the outside, but they're emotional and sensitive on the inside. Cancers are said to almost always be drawn to partners that are their complete opposite in nature, tending to look for a strong, confident, and successful partners. Cancers are also said to have a hard time expressing their feelings due to having a highly introverted nature.
00:22:41
Speaker
And despite that, like cancers are known to be natural nurturers and are known to express their commitment to their partners through these acts, whether it's needed or not. Home and family are a top priority for a cancer, and it's said that cancers often avoid flings and they look for long-term relationships. They love having a stable and happy family, and though they are emotional, they're not necessarily in a hurry to settle down. Cancers are also said to find joy in cooking for their loved ones, and I can completely attest to this because my bestie, being a cancer, she loves to feed us any chance she gets.
00:23:18
Speaker
Like she's been rolling me homemade tortillas since we were little babies. And like if we drove, when we were living in Illinois and we would drive all the way to Arizona or California, we always stopped in Oklahoma for a break because it was like eight hours into our drive and she would have dinner ready on the table for us when we got there, like a drink, like a beer, everything, just like ready to go when we like got to her house. So that's sweet. then Yeah. I love her to death. So and in terms of specific zodiac signs, I've broken it down again. So cancers are best suited for relationships with earth signs and other water signs, and they may need to work harder to have successful relationships with air and fire signs.

Cancer Compatibility with Other Signs

00:24:00
Speaker
So starting off strong with the fire,
00:24:03
Speaker
Cancers will find all fire signs tricky to relate to and this isn't all this just kind of made me laugh because obviously I'm an Aries and my daughter is a cancer and sometimes we really really butt heads. Aries will be too brash and headstrong to relax and settle down with a cancer romantically and Aries are often too impatient for a cancer and may be too harsh in their words and as we know a cancer never forgets. And for Sagittarius, it said online, literally, they share nothing, modally or elementally in common.
00:24:35
Speaker
And I thought, I was like, okay, well then. well This pairing is unusual and may have a lot of challenges because it probably will not work. like When we think about Sagittarius, they're always like onto the next adventure, right? And they're always like like looking towards the future and like they don't want to settle down. And then you have cancer that's like, can we just stay home this weekend? And Sagittarius is like, hell no, I'm going to jump out of an airplane. like So not not really going to work. And as far as Leo goes, They also have nothing motally or elementally in common. And so they will have a hard time relating and connecting romantically. And so moving on to air signs. Cancers may find all air signs too breezy and changeable to really depend on. And as far as Gemini's go, they don't share much in common. Gemini's are usually too social for a cancer. And Libris can work well with a cancer, but they may need some help navigating emotional differences in needs.
00:25:32
Speaker
but it could be a good match if they can get this figured out. And then Aquarius, there is ah it could be a potentially challenging match because it says that they are too different on an emotional level to really work. Now moving on to water signs, water signs will be able to match cancer's vulnerability and emotional intelligence. Cancer and cancer relationships is a natural and online it says that they are two peas in a pod. They share similar values and needs and can agree on basically all major life decisions, but they may find some conflict if they're too much alike and that can bring some issues up.
00:26:07
Speaker
And then as far as a Pisces and Cancer relationship, this can bring spiritual and philosophical ideas to a relationship. And they both enjoy their own privacy and solitude and can collaborate easily on projects. So this would be a really smart match. And then for Scorpio and Cancers, Scorpio can bring sexual magnetism to a pairing with Cancer. And it said that it's a magnetic match, allowing both to explore power and mystery together. And with this pairing, cancer is not intimidated by Scorpio's intensity like some of the other signs might be.
00:26:41
Speaker
And then for earth signs, earth signs are very complimentary to a cancer. Capricorn is technically the polar opposite of cancer, but cancers bring care and nurturing to Capricorn in a way that they really need. And they will have an opposites attract type of relationship and connection, which I thought was really cute because you guys are like best friends. We crack up because we send each other the most romantic shit. And then we're like, that's my bestie.
00:27:11
Speaker
It's so cute. Photonic soulmates, I swear. It's a thing. and it It really is. And so for Virgos, Virgos and Cancers are potentially a very strong match as well because they can appreciate each other's sensitive and thoughtful natures and can collaborate well on shared ideas and pursuits because Virgo brings structure to cancer. And then as far as Taurus, Taurus can connect with cancers over food, wine, and sensual pleasures. And Cancer Will Love Taurus' supportive and dependable nature. And they will have a lot of fun together, especially in creating a nurturing ambiance to the home. And all of this minus obviously the sensual pleasures and the wine bit, because obviously like my kid is a teenager, but my husband is a Taurus. And so Emily and my husband, like they are literally, it's like the same person. They act the same.
00:28:04
Speaker
They understand each other. they like They really fucking get each other on a deep emotional level that I'm just like, me and Avery are like on the outside. like We don't fucking get it. But they are, I guess, they just, they're two fucking peas in a pod. And I love that for them. Cute. For careers, cancers are known to be good with their hands and often make great painters and artists careers in sales, advertisement or marketing are often fulfilling careers for cancer. Cancers are also said to have a great imagination and therefore would likely excel in poetry, acting, photography, etc.
00:28:40
Speaker
And they are also said to be great in roles that require diplomacy, like a lawyer, a public speaker, and teaching. And clearly, I did not finish my notes on this because there was a whole other section that was supposed to be included about how they're getting caretaker roles. So like nursing, doctors, social work, working in nursing homes was listed under that. I'm trying to remember off memory because I suck and didn't put it in my notes, but those types of roles are really good for

Emotional Reconnection During Cancer Season

00:29:08
Speaker
them as well. So harnessing the energy of cancer season. Cancer season is the perfect time to really surround yourself with loved ones and spend time reconnecting. It's also a great time to invite people over and share a meal, catch up, and just genuinely spend time together. This season brings on heightened feelings, so make sure that you're taking the time to Share how you feel and avoid miscommunications. It's really just a good time to like reconnect with old friends or family you haven't seen in a long time and just really spend that time together and connecting emotionally and all of that.
