The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
RICK JAMES: And, hey, you didn't get blown up on your last day, so that's good.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I did not. i but Despite my best efforts. That was pretty funny. Jeremy's referring to a phone call we had. um My last tour. was Tuesday.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And they called me and asked me if I could do if i wanted to do 24 more hours of overtime before the the you know the date was official. uh and of course you know yeah i'm not gonna turn down more money Uh, you know.
RICK JAMES: Heh heh.
The SnowJobs Podcast: So I said, yes. and ah We get about three o 'clock. There was a major explosion in a gasoline tanker ship.
The SnowJobs Podcast: uh in the port of staten island and i'm like okay and we get the ticket we're heading there and they're saying yeah the thing exploded they got you know people injured possibly killed it's a big deal and i'm sitting there saying yep this is how you die you greedy bastard you know you couldn't have left it alone you had to go for 24 more hours overtime and this is you know this is what's gonna happen the gasoline tanker that's docked next to a dynamite factory
RICK JAMES: Heh heh.
The SnowJobs Podcast: carrying some fireworks on it, all sorts of good stuff.
RICK JAMES: all the good stuff yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, but that was a pretty we had a we had a good time laughing about that after it was over.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I was calling him on the way home.
RICK JAMES: But on the... on the On the bright side, you got an extra one more shower with the boys. That was good.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I did get one more group shower in, as Jeremy likes to imagine.
RICK JAMES: yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: I don't know, dude.
RICK JAMES: You know what I keep talking about. I just got to look at.
The SnowJobs Podcast: yeah I think you brought it up.
RICK JAMES: Heh.
The SnowJobs Podcast: But yeah, no, it was good.
RICK JAMES: Hmm.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I mean, I'm going to miss all the guys that you definitely. I don't think I'll miss.
RICK JAMES: Bet you are.
The SnowJobs Podcast: i don't think I don't think I'll miss the city. Um... I definitely there's parts of the job. I won't miss But you definitely missed the guys. You missed the kitchen table. uh that kind of stuff and it'll definitely be tough but uh you know on to the next thing it's uh i got i already have the most important job in the world and that's uh you know being a good dad and making all that shit.
RICK JAMES: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And the second most important job seems to be snow jobs because it's helping so many people. So we got to keep the pedal down and keep bringing guys more of what they need.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
RICK JAMES: Definitely. That's what we're doing for sure. It's been a good run, and yeah. it's Going to get better.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, not not even to... and not even trying to toot our own horn, but like something really jumped out at me this week looking at, I looked at three threads in Snowplow Mafia and I looked at a couple of the threads in the Snowjobs Nation chat groups and...
The SnowJobs Podcast: You can see. like in some depending on what the question is or what somebody's talking about you can see the influence you can see that guys are learning they're listening and they're applying it so it's it's really cool to see that and ah You know, some guys even reference us. So that's really cool. and You know, like I said, the ah the notebook with all the ideas, it's ah it's now coming out of the drawer because now we have time to.
The SnowJobs Podcast: to do it and bring the guys more. So it's it's exciting.
RICK JAMES: Yeah definitely. That's great.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, buddy How's your week been?
RICK JAMES: Been good. Been busy. Once again, still putting juice down every day.
The SnowJobs Podcast: okay
RICK JAMES: So.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Ready to travel?
RICK JAMES: Yeah, we're going to have busy a busy few weeks coming up here.
The SnowJobs Podcast: We are going to have a busy few weeks. We just we just keep...
RICK JAMES: I guess.
The SnowJobs Podcast: planning shit.
RICK JAMES: And I just got off a plane from last weekend. I had to go i went off the...
The SnowJobs Podcast: I know.
RICK JAMES: Top dog for the old... ah Party. That was a good time out there, and that that episode's kicking ass.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh, they're killing it.
RICK JAMES: so
The SnowJobs Podcast: Their top dog is the top dog of season two.
RICK JAMES: And that was...
The SnowJobs Podcast: For sure.
RICK JAMES: Oh, yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I killed it.
RICK JAMES: By far. Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, they killed it Killed it.
RICK JAMES: Huh?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, top dog Top Dog and Kyle, they both actually sent me very nice texts this morning when it became, ah we're recording this on. uh in the afternoon on 9 11 and uh It's ah that that was when my retirement became official this morning and I got text for both of them.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And that was very nice of the top doggies. as they are, as we like to call them.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: But yeah, you got to make sure they fly your Delta so you can keep adding the the frequent flyer miles.
RICK JAMES: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You know, we're going to fly you out.
RICK JAMES: Oh, yeah, definitely.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Got to go Delta so we can get the miles.
RICK JAMES: Yeah, for sure. For sure. so yeah will be
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm glad you had a good time. It looked like a good setup. I mean, I'm not i'm sure top dog Top Dog doesn't do anything half -assed, so I'm sure that had to be good.
RICK JAMES: Nods.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I don't know why I didn't get invited.
RICK JAMES: Tuh.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Weird.
RICK JAMES: I don't know.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Weird.
RICK JAMES: i don't know You were working. You were working.
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah I mean, you take off for a top dog party.
RICK JAMES: I remember. like
RICK JAMES: Well, yeahs that's true. that's That's not my decision. i just was I starred in the show.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm just busting their balls.
RICK JAMES: I starred in the show.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That is...
RICK JAMES: I had to be out there.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That is true.
RICK JAMES: so
The SnowJobs Podcast: That is probably what it was. It was, you know, Jeremy Lindstrom production, so.
RICK JAMES: did Did you see my title on the show? Did you watch did you see my title?
The SnowJobs Podcast: i I have not watched it yet I've been so busy.
RICK JAMES: Oh my God. What is wrong? Throw it out at the firehouse.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm going to.
RICK JAMES: How are you not giving us views at the firehouse?
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm gonna have nothing. I'm going to have nothing but time. Nothing but time from now.
RICK JAMES: Oh, right, right.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I will get all. is dude we're gonna be in a hotel room like for the next two weeks like i will i will have time to just throw on storm chasing and catch up
RICK JAMES: Right.
RICK JAMES: You can watch it on the plane. YouTube don't have a plan.
The SnowJobs Podcast: There you go, I could do that too I can do that too. Well, I'm not, you're the one flying. I'm driving. This is the Northeastern swing. So I'm driving all this stuff.
RICK JAMES: True, true. Very true. Well, you can watch really driving.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Bye -bye.
RICK JAMES: That's what I do
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh God. In the semi? Great.
RICK JAMES: Of course
The SnowJobs Podcast: Ha ha. Now I know why I accelerate very fast past tractor trailers.
RICK JAMES: so
The SnowJobs Podcast: Because they're all watching storm chasing.
RICK JAMES: You're not passing me. I'm passing you.
The SnowJobs Podcast: that's true i i know how fast you go you do how fast to the tractor trailer my goodness oh man well that's cool but yeah we're getting into a busy part where we had a little bit of a a lull we had storm day but then uh you know a little bit of time off but now the pennsylvania and new england swing is upon us and and one trip to kentucky with equip and
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: it's ah It's about to get to to be a busy, what, four weeks. oh it's uh
RICK JAMES: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Going to be interesting, but that's what we do. But, ah yeah, speaking of what we do. We have a really good one today for you guys. ah It's been. If you listened about, I think it's God. got to be five, maybe six weeks ago. Um, Today we're going to follow up on an episode we did about a month or so, you know, five, six weeks, whatever it was. We had a few of the guys on. Jeremy, was he had some emergency. yeah AI center to spray, so he couldn't make it.
RICK JAMES: yeah How's that? that
The SnowJobs Podcast: So we started, we we just said we were going to do some listener questions, answer some listener questions. So I had some of the boys on and um it was. Most of the questions were about marketing and promotion of their company. so We tried to tackle that. We are not marketing. experts so it would have just been our opinions and our experiences which you know may have worked for guys may have not but
The SnowJobs Podcast: You know, I also said that it would have been super smart of me to try and get, you know, our good friend Luke Eggerbraten on from Phaser Marketing to to help us out with that panel. I mean, then you could have gotten professional, you know, real world answers from experience. On that side of it And ah Luke at the time was severely pregnant. I mean, Luke and his wife were severely pregnant, so he obviously couldn't do it, and I didn't think of it in time.
The SnowJobs Podcast: But, ah you know, knowing we we are all very good friends. We do a lot with Faze, not Phaser personally, but we do a lot with the dirt bags. Cross promotion. We help out Luke's podcast. He helps out the snow jobs. It's been a great relationship. so It's not ah abnormal for us to ask each other to help us out.
The SnowJobs Podcast: We reached out to Luke, said, hey, this is what we're doing. We got a lot of dudes out there with with marketing and promotion questions for their snow companies, and would you be willing to to hop on with us you know at a later date and answer some help answer some questions, see if we can get guys some great information. Obviously, if you know Luke, you know Luke's ah just one of the best people. you'll ever meet and he jumped at that he's like absolutely like let's go well when things settle down with the baby we We'll do it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: so Things are settled. And Luke is here.
RICK JAMES: i I think Luke needs to get that tattoo on him. Let's go. That's his favorite deal.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's it.
RICK JAMES: Let's go.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Let's go.
RICK JAMES: You got to get a tattoo of that, maybe a tramp stamp on your back there, Luke.
The SnowJobs Podcast: right
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah
Luke Eggebraaten: i could go uh i could go tram stamp steve jeremy As long as you guys do it with me, I'm in.
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah
RICK JAMES: good
Luke Eggebraaten: I'll do it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: that's it so yeah as you hear luke is here he's gonna help the snow jobs audience out with some marketing advice and you know we're super excited about him being here and he's always willing to help out which is awesome i mean there's very few people i've met since we started this that are just uh you know ah all around a better person than luke
RICK JAMES: Hell yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah So it's really cool. and there's no If you know what Luke's about and you know his company at all, there' there's no better marketing firm for blue -collar dirt work companies out there than Phaser. And Phaser started to expand. They used to be only septic and dirt, right, Luke?
Luke Eggebraaten: yeahp Yeah, it was mainly excavation and septic.
The SnowJobs Podcast: There you go.
Luke Eggebraaten: And then we expanded a few years ago into hardscaping. And then naturally, of course, a lot of our clients did snow.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: And so I'd say those are the big four. It's excavation, septic, hardscaping. and snow.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, and now they're they're off to the races. Now they have like... thirty What do you got? How many employees? 30?
Luke Eggebraaten: 30. 33 full timers.
The SnowJobs Podcast: thirty three my god you've exploded dude you've absolutely exploded that's great good for you
RICK JAMES: Wow.
Luke Eggebraaten: It's...
Luke Eggebraaten: I appreciate it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's phenomenal.
Luke Eggebraaten: and And Steve and Jeremy, I also want to say thank you guys for the opportunity. Thank you for having me on the show. I got to listen to that episode and I appreciate you know the kind words. But also too, like you mentioned, Steve is...
Luke Eggebraaten: I'm here to move the industry forward. ah Just my tiny little. portion right and just anywhere i can help i'm more than willing to so for snow jobs nation for you guys listening i got my um DMs are always open. You can find me on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn.
Luke Eggebraaten: and even in the snow jobs nation facebook group Please shoot me a message as you have additional questions. I'm here to help and we're here to move this industry forward. So, and Steve, as you mentioned, like I just have a different.
Luke Eggebraaten: set of experience and a unique set of companies we get to work with.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sure.
Luke Eggebraaten: And we'll dive into that more, but I just have so much respect for the men and women that. that are in this industry.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Let's go to put it in Luke's words.
Luke Eggebraaten: Come on.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: Let's go.
RICK JAMES: so
The SnowJobs Podcast: Let's go.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: But yeah, like.
Luke Eggebraaten: i'm a little fired up on these uh tangarine lacroix's right now so hope i don't start slurring
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
RICK JAMES: have
The SnowJobs Podcast: Ha ha!
RICK JAMES: Heh.
The SnowJobs Podcast: There you go. yeah when we did that it was you know it was great we i think we i think we had some really good answers and some really good feedback but it was only it was one -sided it was what we did and what worked for us, where you work with so many customers out there that.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You'll know. that Okay, this I know worked for 90 % of the companies we tried this with, or this approach worked for this size company. So it's better to just, like I said, better to get a professional. you know you don't want to hire an amateur plumber when you can uh you know get an uh a full you know A fully licensed and approved plumber.
The SnowJobs Podcast: so uh it's ah It's pretty cool to have you on, and we're looking forward to getting this on. But, you know, before we do that. We got to, uh, you know, we got to do, we got to hear from team Top Gun. We got to come back. We got to do a quick week review and then we'll get into this with Luke. All right. We'll be right back.
Luke Eggebraaten: Let's go.
The SnowJobs Podcast: All right. Thanks, Top Gun. We are back. We are back. So Storm Chasin' season two. We'll kick that off with the week review. That has wrapped. All the episodes are out. Top Dog dropped last week, as me and Jeremy said previously. Top Dog just ran away with it. It's absolutely.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely crushing it with views. I mean, they they might be on pace to rival the Glacier episode from season one, right, Jay, or no?
RICK JAMES: Yep.
RICK JAMES: yeah Yeah, they're coming in. They're coming in hot. So.
The SnowJobs Podcast: oh yeah no they're doing great they're doing great so congratulations to top dog and uh everybody head on over make sure you head on over to the storm chasing youtube page and
RICK JAMES: Isn't it?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Check out the whole season.
RICK JAMES: Isn't that weird that two the two top episodes have...
The SnowJobs Podcast: What was that?
RICK JAMES: Me on them? It's weird. Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm thinking there's a formula there, Jay.
RICK JAMES: ah We always hear about the formula.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm just saying. i mean ever
RICK JAMES: we always hear about the
The SnowJobs Podcast: We always, always hear about the formula from all the marketing guys. There's a formula. you know This is how you get a million listens. You put an Eastern Ukrainian you know block building in there, and you'll get a million you'll get a million views.
RICK JAMES: Uh.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
RICK JAMES: It was.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You know?
RICK JAMES: Hmm.
The SnowJobs Podcast: All these formulas, but, you know, the one that has proven to work now two seasons in a row is have Jeremy Lindstrom on the video.
RICK JAMES: Uh.
RICK JAMES: Yep. yep You got it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: i don't I don't think that can be disputed now, right? It's only been two, right?
RICK JAMES: No, I was on the Arctic one too, so i won that one. that one
The SnowJobs Podcast: really i don't remember you being on the arctic one oh maybe for a little bit
RICK JAMES: Yep. Yeah, mean arctic stever me and Arctic Steve are on there a little bit.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Maybe. Maybe. Isn't it Phantom, Steve?
RICK JAMES: No, it's Arctic Steve, always be Arctic Steve
The SnowJobs Podcast: I think it's Phantom Steve. I'm going to call him Phantom Steve. yeah
RICK JAMES: Ugh.
The SnowJobs Podcast: oh shit all right so let's see that's jeremy and i spoke about we have our pennsylvania swing coming up quickly it's actually next week so september 16th and 17th we're in pennsylvania jeremy will actually be there a couple days longer september 16th is wednesday that we head on out to storks for plow tech school that is where storks takes you through all douglas dynamics products how to fix them, how to troubleshoot problems so you do not need the dealer at 3 o 'clock in the morning when it's snowing.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It's a great class. It is sold out. Gene has talked about adding a second day to that Plowtech school at some point. If and when he does that, we will get you the dates. But that's Wednesday the 16th at Storks. If you're going, I will see you there.
The SnowJobs Podcast: The 17th, we had an hour and 20 minutes to Scranton in the different part of Pennsylvania there, and that's S and &S, S and &S Snow and Ice Solutions, sixth annual snow show.
The SnowJobs Podcast: All right, that's ah Tony and Janet do a phenomenal job with that. I'm looking forward to the stuffed mushrooms. It's a key.
RICK JAMES: Yeah, you are
The SnowJobs Podcast: Usually a great panel discussion. um Last year was honestly um shocking to me. Because I honestly thought it was one of the greatest panel discussions I've seen as far as the listener engagement and questions after the fact.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like yeah would that that panel could have gone on for four hours answering questions from the audience.
RICK JAMES: It was a while. Yeah, it was a good one.
The SnowJobs Podcast: There was a lot of great questions and they did a very good job. answering them. uh so that's sns that is a great and i can't stress this enough guys if you're in If you're within a couple hour drive of of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
The SnowJobs Podcast: This is the the event you really want to be at because it's straight up networking. Like you can make so many connections at this event. Uh, Cause basically that's the whole, most of the day is just.
The SnowJobs Podcast: breaking up into groups. and shooting the shit. with other guys that go through the same things you do. So, ah you know, try and make it to SNS.
RICK JAMES: mm -hmm
The SnowJobs Podcast: Call S and &S and ah and get... the Get Tony to give you a spot. All right, and then... ah Jeremy is staying. He's going back after SNS. He's going back to Storks. storks is having their open house their 40th anniversary open house It's the 18th and 19th.
The SnowJobs Podcast: at Storks back out in Leesport, Pennsylvania. And then October. October, man, it'll be here before we know it. October 1st in Uxbridge, Massachusetts is the third annual Northeast Eicing Solutions. The icing day. And that's, you know, Patty Salmon and company.
The SnowJobs Podcast: The Salmons do a great job.
RICK JAMES: And you.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I am actually presenting a little program. I'm doing a sales pitch basically for a snow contract using the audience as, ah you know, the board that I'm trying to sell to. And I'm just going to show.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You know, just like we do here on All the Time, we just try and give you tips and tricks that we know have worked. And, ah you know, from how I'm dressed to how I engage the audience, what I say.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That all has... That all has bearing on whether or not you can make that sale because I'm. usually never the cheapest guy in the room actually i can guarantee i'm never the cheapest guy i'm 90 95 of the time the most expensive guy by at least 25 percent
RICK JAMES: Amen.
The SnowJobs Podcast: So.
RICK JAMES: Are we doing questions and answers and stuff like that? Because I'm going to be the guy that says, I got a guy.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's a pass.
RICK JAMES: I got a guy that can do it cheaper than you. Why are you so... I'm going to just... I'm gonna hound your ass.
The SnowJobs Podcast: absolutely you can do it You can do it.
RICK JAMES: ah
The SnowJobs Podcast: Why? I'll just, you know, I'll throw stuff at you, but no, no, it's listen.
RICK JAMES: Bye.
The SnowJobs Podcast: We that's, that's how we do it. You have to be able to answer questions like that. And ah that's what we're doing at Northeast the icing day. I don't know if there's going to be a Q and a time for that ah during or after Pat's got me on a pretty tight leash as far as time.
The SnowJobs Podcast: um So we'll see. We'll see how it goes. But I am making up the.
RICK JAMES: Hmm?
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah All the packets, the... the Oh, my God. i' brain blank in here um these the sales packets the the little bid proposal packet that we hand out to everybody that has all the information for each board member that we're going. We're going to do sample ones. of those and we'll have our powerpoint that we designed for each uh
The SnowJobs Podcast: for each individual site. to basically just showcase what we can do and how we're better than everybody else around us and why we're worth the extra money. So should be a pretty good day. I'm looking forward to doing it. It's not hard for me to do this.
The SnowJobs Podcast: so uh when patty asked uh i said absolutely yeah no problem i think that's a great idea So I will be doing that in Uxbridge on the 1st.
RICK JAMES: Peace. Did you see the flyer he sent out?
The SnowJobs Podcast: No.
RICK JAMES: Oh. I thought you sent him a text message.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I did not. Negative K.
RICK JAMES: Hmm.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I did not see the ah the flyer.
RICK JAMES: Okay. Okay.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Holy shit. all right
RICK JAMES: I'll send it to you.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Maybe he should send it to me.
RICK JAMES: I will.
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah ah You know...
RICK JAMES: It's got the concert people on it and everything. so yes's
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sweet. Sweet. The what? Morton Wallace.
RICK JAMES: Morton Wallace, Laney Spaulding.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah. And as if me and Jeremy were not busy enough, after Uxbridge October 1st, we have actually decided we are going to equip this year.
The SnowJobs Podcast: uh we want to uh we want to get down there we want to see some people and we haven't been there Or has it been two years or did we go?
RICK JAMES: It's been a couple years, yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: we We skipped last year, right?
RICK JAMES: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Did we skip the last two?
RICK JAMES: Skip two years.
The SnowJobs Podcast: We did?
RICK JAMES: two Last two, yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: All right, so it's it's time. We got to get back down there. And, uh... that's ah That's what, the 20th to the 23rd of October? And that pretty much will wrap up our seat hopefully wrap up our travel season because it's the snow is coming.
RICK JAMES: Mm -hmm.
The SnowJobs Podcast: But we we will be down at Equip this year, so if anybody's heading down or doing parties, let us know. And if you're going to any of these events, you've got to be dressed properly. So head on over to snowjobsnationstore .com and get all your Snowjobs Nation swag.

The SnowJobs Podcast: Wow good for you guys that is not normal actually for babies. Yeah, I think it's like hit or miss ah my kids I don't think we're great I think my son was not great on the plane.
The SnowJobs Podcast: My daughter was so it's like 50 -50 shot
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I think a lot has to do with the with their ears.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: With how...
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: OK, their ears are with it, but. Yeah, I don't know. i'm I already told my wife, like, whenever we fly as a family, like, it's not going to be my problem. You guys will be in the back of the plane.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like I'll be, I'll be up front.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
RICK JAMES: ah
Luke Eggebraaten: You'll be sitting up first class. Retirement.
The SnowJobs Podcast: No. Kidding. but That's awesome, man.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Congratulations to you guys.
Luke Eggebraaten: Thank you.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It's phenomenal. We're real happy for you. and uh
RICK JAMES: That's great.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It's good to see you're back to work. like that's really cool though, that you were able to take some time away from, from phaser. And like, I think that's everybody's dream that. Your shop can continuously operate flawlessly with no problems, even without, you know, the main man.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah, it.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like that's the dream.
Luke Eggebraaten: it Man, it's been incredible. and I do want to preface this too. it's It's not just because of our business setup and situation that I can do it. We have many clients in construction, in landscaping, in the snow business that have also taken some time away. And it's it's not for everybody, right? And you kind of have to force it. You're expecting a little bit of a dip there.
Luke Eggebraaten: ah but The... the What I've learned of taking time off in the last seven years from the business and completely disconnecting is it allows your team to put out the bigger fires.
Luke Eggebraaten: they have to make the decisions and
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sure.
Luke Eggebraaten: a lot of times too, in my opinion, I just think we coddle our teams a bit too much to where. I'm the man. I have to make all the decisions. and a little bit of our ego gets in the way there. So when you completely let go, whether it's for three days or for two weeks or for eight weeks, it allows your decision makers to make decisions. and it also paves the paves the path for them to do so.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I love it. It's 100 % true. You know, they're never going to be able to. You can't just throw them into the Super Bowl. right off the bat like you got to let them build up some pre -season and regular season games and and then You know, when the big one comes, they're not going to have any qualms about having to squash that on their own.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: without You know the big guy there.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah, I like but like the football analogy. Football's back, so shout out to the NFL.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, thank God it's back. i we
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
RICK JAMES: Yeah it is.
The SnowJobs Podcast: We had Army last weekend. We kicked off the new stadium at West Point last weekend. What a job they did on that, dude.
Luke Eggebraaten: Let's go.
The SnowJobs Podcast: We'll have to get you guys out to a game. That is some place to watch football in the fall.
RICK JAMES: It'll be fun.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Pretty incredible.
RICK JAMES: I wish there would have been in the game this next weekend. I would have stuck around for it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh, I know.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely. absolutely yep It would have been great to do that. It figures there that's the first week they're away. but We'll figure it out. We'll get it done. i mean It's not like... ah Not like we got so much going on that we can't just fly out for a for a game.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And it's worth it, too. You know, you tailgate the whole day.
RICK JAMES: Oh yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It's it's really a ah great. And that there's no better. I don't care what anybody says down south or whatever. but There is no better place atmosphere -wise to watch it, you know, to be on ah a fall Saturday than West Point.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like that is crazy cool
RICK JAMES: Mm hmm.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Just awesome. But. But anyway, but ah glad you're back to work. and like how did the ah How did the team handle your absence, though? Everybody, you know, so all things normal? Or did you come into a dumpster fire?
Luke Eggebraaten: and No, man, it was great.
RICK JAMES: Hmph.
Luke Eggebraaten: we So last year, too, my my wife and I had.
The SnowJobs Podcast: yeah
Luke Eggebraaten: went overseas for eight weeks and i was completely out of the business and so Had really good prep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Wow, nice.
Luke Eggebraaten: for for that. And so five weeks was actually felt a lot quicker. of course. And yeah, it was good, man. it I think it just allows. you know our leadership to make the decisions that they're hired to make And whether that's hiring, putting team members on pips.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sure.
Luke Eggebraaten: performance improvement plans.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm -hmm
Luke Eggebraaten: making decisions based on bringing on new clients dealing with fires there but yeah i think My job as the. entrepreneur or the visionary, the founder of phaser is to apply pressure.
Luke Eggebraaten: I need to apply pressure so we can find the leaks and go fix the leaks. and
The SnowJobs Podcast: there you go love it
Luke Eggebraaten: Sometimes our team hates that, but it's at the end of the day, like we're here to grow. We're here to add value to the marketplace and we don't get there by staying complacent. so When I leave, it's not just a vacation. Like I get to see the business from a 50 ,000 foot view and come back with. all these new decisions. and I call it my decision board.
Luke Eggebraaten: So I come back with 10 to 15 decisions, meet with our leadership team.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm -hmm
Luke Eggebraaten: And I've already reflected on these for five weeks. And I say. i basically run through them and make sure i'm not crazy get approval from them and implement and go so we're already pivoting in some areas made some harder changes already, but it's it's for the better of the company and for our clients as well.
The SnowJobs Podcast: So basically never rest on your laurels and keep pushing
RICK JAMES: Awesome.
Luke Eggebraaten: ah Keep pushing man.
RICK JAMES: Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: Let's go
The SnowJobs Podcast: There it is. it's Perfect. Awesome.
Luke Eggebraaten: You should use that.
The SnowJobs Podcast: So you want to help help us with some of these questions we've gotten from some of these listeners?
Luke Eggebraaten: Oh man, I would be honored. And before we get into that, just want to say anyone listening, we've got...
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: air fresheners that just as a little gift for you guys listening.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Nice.
Luke Eggebraaten: Shoot me. Shoot me a DM. I'll send them to you for free. We got our sample pack. Jeremy already knows all about these.
RICK JAMES: They're great.
Luke Eggebraaten: sent him hundreds but basically we've got the the new skitty scent We've got the forestry mulching scent.
RICK JAMES: They're great Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: We got the new septic tank scent. That's a hot seller. And then, of course, for this.
The SnowJobs Podcast: The new septic tank? Really?
Luke Eggebraaten: Yep. It's seven.
RICK JAMES: It's not what you think. It's not what you think.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I was going to say.
Luke Eggebraaten: seven years of research and development to for me to get that one developed.
The SnowJobs Podcast: i
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: And, uh, and finally for the snow industry, we have our phaser black ice, but four different scents. Just all you have to do is shoot me a message on Instagram, LinkedIn, or Facebook to say, Hey, listen to the snow jobs.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Ugh.
Luke Eggebraaten: Do you still have any air fresheners? And I'll get your mailing address and I'll send you those for free. So that is my little gift to kick off this episode.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's awesome.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: And man, I'm excited to dive into these questions too.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Love it. Thank you very much.
RICK JAMES: Hi. Are you going to change? Sorry. that Are you going to change the septic one? Once you've been changing diapers now for a while, it's a little bit good different.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah, so we...
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's what I was gonna say
Luke Eggebraaten: We actually have a a fifth.
The SnowJobs Podcast: No jobs. we're We're missing the boat.
Luke Eggebraaten: we We do have a fifth scent coming out. It's been in research for a while, but it's the clogged sewer line. So got that one dialed in.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh.
RICK JAMES: ah
Luke Eggebraaten: and that That one, it's it's still permeating in the sewer line. so It should be ready by. so ah by December here.
The SnowJobs Podcast: yeah that's great We got to do that, Jay.
RICK JAMES: We could... we could
The SnowJobs Podcast: We got to do snow jobs, air fresheners.
Luke Eggebraaten: It's fermenting.
RICK JAMES: We could call it. we We could call it snow jobs after dark after you and Shawnee White Castle.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I was going to say that you got dirty septic tank.
Luke Eggebraaten: No.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You got dirty sock. You got Sean's lunchbox.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: you know We can do all sorts of scents. Oh my God.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah, they're so they're still fermenting.
RICK JAMES: hu
Luke Eggebraaten: we're We're waiting for those to to launch.
RICK JAMES: ah
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh my god, that's...
RICK JAMES: nice
The SnowJobs Podcast: pretty bad That is so funny. Oh, boy. um Yes, I mean, if you're ready, man, we'll get we'll get to the meat and potatoes of what these guys want to hear from you. If if you're ready to go, we'll kick it off.
Luke Eggebraaten: I would love to. and one thing on this too, Steve, I'll mention is that, um, I will go as deep as I can, but just know that every situation for every.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: entrepreneur listening is different so if you if you want specifics shoot me a message after this episode because then i can go deeper into where you're at in revenue uh you know what your budget is things like that so
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sure.
Luke Eggebraaten: For the sake of some of these questions, I'll answer more philosophically and what we see with.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah. Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: with our clients and what we see with the industry. But if you want any more specifics, I'd be more than happy to. answer those in another message as well.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, and guys and gals, stay tuned to the end. we'll We'll get all of Luke's socials and contact information. We'll also post them on the episode notes. All right, so that way you'll always know how to get a hold of Luke and Fazer.
The SnowJobs Podcast: But ah yeah, that's awesome, man. But yeah, the guys have... And that's cool that, you know, you said that because we were just, we were doing our best as guys that have done it for ourselves in business. And we're only getting one point of view out there.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: but uh it's it's Really, i'm I'm actually curious to see how. how i do without ever having a professional marketer you know what i would say and how i would answer these questions compared to how you're going to answer them So um I'm excited for this.
Luke Eggebraaten: It's...
RICK JAMES: ah you
Luke Eggebraaten: it's I almost guarantee.
RICK JAMES: I got a few here too.
Luke Eggebraaten: I almost guarantee it's going to be simpler than you think. and But I think there's going to be some really great strategies we can dive into. So we'd love to hear what we got cooking, Steve.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sweet.
Luke Eggebraaten: What are some of the questions?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Cool. All right, so the first one is, is it worth paying for advertising on Google and Facebook to try and land commercial snow accounts?
Luke Eggebraaten: Short answer is... Depends on your foundation. If you have a rock solid foundation, if.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: If you're very involved in the community, if you have a solid website, if you're already involved in commercial snow and you have referral partners, you have branded equipment, you have branded polos, you have your system set up.
Luke Eggebraaten: Absolutely. It's great. where most... people miss the mark is uh and i have a great analogy for it it's one of my favorites is we start advertising before the foundation is set.
Luke Eggebraaten: So I use the fire analogy. If we're...
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: If you're listening and you don't have a solid foundation already set and you want to spend money on Google and Facebook, you're going to be pouring gasoline onto dirt. and it's just gonna be wet dirt.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: And then if you build up this foundation where. I, the things I mentioned there, you're going to build the fire. And what? uh really what Google and Facebook are in terms of Um,
Luke Eggebraaten: distribution channels are, is they're just. Gasoline. And so you pour gasoline on something that's already working.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: It's usually going to work better. And that's where we can use math. to figure out How much gasoline can we put on? and generate an ah ROI or generate a return on our ad spend. and so in commercial and we work with a lot of commercial clients. That's about 60 % of our clients are all commercial, about 40%.
Luke Eggebraaten: um Uh, residential or B2C.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: And. The B2B side, it's so much more on verifying. your authority in the niche and Less about. running paid lead campaigns. And so we can dive into that a little bit more, I'm sure, as the questions come. but
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: We're not necessarily running a Facebook ad to have somebody submit a form. a lead form. We're more so running an awareness ad. as all of our other Uh, as we're running on all cylinders. So take care of the basics first. That also goes into the non -digital marketing techniques. I mean, we could run off the whole list here, but...
Luke Eggebraaten: Get your non -digital fixed. Get your digital marketing fixed at the foundation level. I'll go through a couple more examples would be. your website just have good solid foundational seo so make sure That looks good.
Luke Eggebraaten: um your Google business profile, make sure you have. more than 25 reviews. If you only work with commercial clients and you can't get reviews. Go to your truck drivers, go to your vendors, go to anyone that can attest to your character to bump up those reviews.
Luke Eggebraaten: And then also to. Just cleaning up your... uh your image online. So once we have some of those non -digital and digital foundational items.
Luke Eggebraaten: Fixed, then. I'm all for pouring. money into paid ads. i as a start I usually like to do $1 ,000 a month just to start. Anything less than $1 ,000 a month, it's hard to get accurate data. And then... The nice thing.
Luke Eggebraaten: past that we're always a b testing different images different offers what's working what's not and that is more so on the back end of seeing what is our Cost per lead or cost per conversion. or cost per Um,
Luke Eggebraaten: impression like what is our goal here that we're trying to get and so um
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sure.
Luke Eggebraaten: Starting at $1 ,000 a month gives you a little bit more. data to work off of and then we can always go up or down and so uh Last thing I'll say on that. And then we can.
Luke Eggebraaten: open it up a bit more is Think in terms of either quarters or year. the budgets. I would highly recommend against just running ads when we're slow.
Luke Eggebraaten: That's probably the worst time because you need to be marketing now. when things are going well. And we all know this in the snow industry as well. It's like you don't want to wait till November.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: to start marketing snow.
The SnowJobs Podcast: 100%.
Luke Eggebraaten: and And we want to fill that pipeline as well. And so we fill that pipeline. We're always there. We're always showing up. and I think I'll park there for a little bit because I feel myself going deeper into this topic and I think it'll come up here.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: ah on the next question as well.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, it's all social media based. That's what we're trying to group the questions together.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: to to kind of keep it as simple as possible. ah So, yeah, we'll get it we'll keep going with the social media questions. Number two is... ah Do you believe that Instagram ads can lead to commercial account sales?
The SnowJobs Podcast: m
Luke Eggebraaten: Yes. But. Hear me out. uh it's not just instagram it's it's all relationships and so you hear that a lot in commercial Commercial is relationships.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: ah You see, okay. Here's how I want to answer this. In commercial, you see a lot more. like trust and verify and relationships where
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: residential, it's a lot more of just taking a chance on a company. Usually it's lower ticket, price price conscious.
The SnowJobs Podcast: 100%.
Luke Eggebraaten: And so when it comes to Instagram ads... Uh, I can speak from my experience. We've grown to... to be almost a three million dollar company from LinkedIn and Instagram and our podcast.
Luke Eggebraaten: And it's all organic, no paid ads. So. How is that possible? It's the relationships. It's the referrals that come from Instagram. It's the referrals that come from LinkedIn. and and the visual that they see. so Would I put money into Instagram?
Luke Eggebraaten: Uh huh. for commercial snow accounts. Short answer is no. I think there's many other. better ideas that we can ah get into here. I always like to start organic first. Have we exercised all of our organic channels first. If I go on your Instagram and I see you have. 100 followers and there's no posts organically.
Luke Eggebraaten: you're just pouring the gasoline on the dirt. You're gonna burn cash.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm. 100%.
Luke Eggebraaten: We're gonna burn money. But if I see that you have. couple thousand and you see your team on there you see the videos and you see it looks like a great place to work and that's something to keep in mind we're not only advertising for commercial snow accounts we're going to advertise in the same campaign for people to come work for us in the future.
Luke Eggebraaten: And.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh, that's cool.
RICK JAMES: you
Luke Eggebraaten: as as Ricky from Trailer Park Boys would always say, we want to get two birds stoned at once. And so when we advertise, we want it to be. intentional there. So Don't pour the gasoline on the dirt.
Luke Eggebraaten: ah pour it on a fire. And so. Steve, I'm gonna use this to take one step back here on the question.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sure.
Luke Eggebraaten: If we're looking for a commercial account, here are some things we should exercise before spending money on paid ads. um Because all of this is marketing and marketing doesn't need.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: Paid. So I like to start in the free areas first. I already kind of mentioned a couple of them. cleaning up your google business profile that's going to be number one just start there it's easy it's free get verified, get new photos in there, get your team on there.
Luke Eggebraaten: Get your reviews. well past 25 reviews, five stars. And basically when you when you sign into your Google business profile, you'll see that there's like eight or ten boxes it's like edit info edit hours edit, you know, the buttons, the social media accounts.
Luke Eggebraaten: I just recommend. go through each box and update all the information. If you're the owner listening and you're like, I'm too. I make too much money to do that. That's fine. have somebody in your office do it. Somebody needs to be responsible for this.
Luke Eggebraaten: The answer of nobody being responsible for this, it just can't happen if we want to keep... growing and keep keep the foot on the gas really.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: So it doesn't have to be the owner can be anyone, but it has to be assigned to someone. And so starting there on the Google business profile. One of my favorite methods to use, and I think this is... Probably the biggest.
Luke Eggebraaten: point of this episode maybe is using database reactivation. as a campaign. And so Sounds fancy. It's really not that fancy.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Nick, can you explain that?
Luke Eggebraaten: It's... Absolutely. Basically what a database reactivation campaign is, is we have a list. of old leads or a list of uh Preferred.
Luke Eggebraaten: client right and so
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: If we don't have a list and. where you can find your list. It might be in your QuickBooks. It might be in your CRM. wherever you have all of your old leads all your contacts everyone that is a list if you want a list? Do you want to go target the commercial space? We need to go get a list. you can get that through a company like Coldlytics.
Luke Eggebraaten: I think it's coldlytics .com. C -O -L -D -L -Y -T -I -C -S. That is a scraping company. They will go out and get... generate a list for you. so
The SnowJobs Podcast: Really?
Luke Eggebraaten: Yep. And so what what you would do there.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: is And you guys probably hear this all the time on the the episode. It's like, well, I want to go more commercial. Like, okay, well... Third. where like do you want to go restaurant industrial medical
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm -hmm
Luke Eggebraaten: Multifamily. Project management company HOA like we got to get more specific here so i'd say first of all let's get specific on Who are we going after?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: Because. let's Let's just start there and then go build a list. on that So I'm in Fargo, North Dakota. Uh... Not actually, but... I'm in Fargo, North Dakota, and I want to go after all the restaurants in Fargo. And I want to start showing them that I can come take care of them through the winter.
Luke Eggebraaten: And so... you get a list through Coldlytics or through another scraping company of all the restaurants. right And then you're specific. Now we can start. um are marketing process of how do we go.
Luke Eggebraaten: get awareness with these companies. and there's
The SnowJobs Podcast: Dude, this is gold this
Luke Eggebraaten: Oh, and then there's...
The SnowJobs Podcast: This is good stuff brother.
RICK JAMES: success
Luke Eggebraaten: So thank you. There's many, many ways we can do it from there. but If we're just throwing money into Facebook or Instagram, it's just, it's not going to work. so Let's go back to the list with restaurants. Let's say we get I don't know 200 restaurant or 500 restaurants in vargo and Fargo Moorhead area.
Luke Eggebraaten: And we start, okay, where do we start with this list? Well, let's... Keep exercising our free marketing. Let's. Call this list. And let's split it up. Let's use 400. 400 restaurants.
Luke Eggebraaten: The first hundred. We're going to call. the second hundred we're going to email the third hundred we're going to text and the fourth hundred we're going to send them uh sandy's donuts and we're gonna show up to their office.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: or show up to the restaurant and say, Hey, do you get the donuts yet? We're a commercial snow removal company. We can take care of you. we'll match prices or beat prices or we uh or the more expensive, whatever your pitch is.
Luke Eggebraaten: But you see what we did there. We split it up into four different communication channels.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: And then you rotate. so then the first list that you The first hunter that you called, now that's on your text. in the second list that you texted. Now that's your, you know, stopping into. uh do the donuts and And so forth. So the the goal here is.
Luke Eggebraaten: before anyone can complain about... Not. getting out there enough or not. um their marketing dollars aren't working like we want to exercise some of these free options and really hit the phones.
Luke Eggebraaten: End. Get in person. and shake hands. And. We need to figure out two. Who are we shaking hands with? and that goes into another conversation of, let's say.
Luke Eggebraaten: um Let's say we are... Let's say we want to go more commercial. and we find out that the project managers who we who's making these decisions and so we get in touch with them, get in touch with them through LinkedIn. We reach out to them. It's the same process, but we've gotten more specific now on how we're targeting them.
Luke Eggebraaten: I'm going to take a tiny detour and then I'll come back. This is developing our sales process. before hiring. a salesperson. And I think that's also super important.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm -hmm
Luke Eggebraaten: Uh, a lot of times we'll hire a salesperson expect them to sell And it doesn't work. it's a way it's um less of a return on our money than we expected because there's no process so
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sure.
Luke Eggebraaten: at the very start here to go get this commercial work. This is just one strategy that we're using. and the cool thing about this guys is that guess what this list that you have let's say we went and we saw restaurants banks medical, industrial, we want to focus on those. Let's say our list is 2000.
Luke Eggebraaten: companies you have all their information Then once we've got this solid foundation, we got things going. a marketing company or a marketing person.
Luke Eggebraaten: can then use that list as a lookalike audience. in a facebook campaign and so it's like hey i want want to target companies like this.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay. Gotcha.
Luke Eggebraaten: And you can't target each one individually because there's privacy issues with that. but You can say it. this is our type of clientele we're looking for. And in that.
Luke Eggebraaten: uh we usually you could run like an awareness campaign so we're always targeting these companies so the The thing with marketing is, you know. 21 touch points like they need to see you hear you feel you see your truck see your employee 21 times before making a decision, especially in the commercial space.
Luke Eggebraaten: Commercial is big dollars and it's big relationships. so if we can start building that and kind of always be marketing that's where we want to be. and then
The SnowJobs Podcast: which takes you back to your branding. Like I talked about laying the foundation, making sure you got a good branded.
Luke Eggebraaten: Exactly.
The SnowJobs Podcast: you know truck and good branded guys you know with all their outfits and stuff outfits uniforms Stuff like that. that's yeah I love it. Dude, this is cold.
Luke Eggebraaten: And then...
The SnowJobs Podcast: Keep going.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: And then taking it back to the list, right? So we're we're trying to pull everything from here is. really what an an actual database reactivation campaign would be.
Luke Eggebraaten: is using that list through something like MailChimp, which is free. Constant Contact is very popular, even your CRM. Jobber. We have one that's called Dirt Dev. you know There's many out there.
Luke Eggebraaten: what you want to do is reactivate this list and you want to put your old leads in there your dead leads previous companies you've contacted. And. ah reactivate them with an offer. and So what is the offer? Maybe it is.
Luke Eggebraaten: You're trying to show them. Maybe you're trying to hit a pain point. Hey, did your snow removal company miss last year? Are you looking to change? um Maybe if you are based on price, maybe you tell them you'll match it.
Luke Eggebraaten: most of the companies we work with and you guys work with, we don't. say you should be the cheapest. ever, so I wouldn't recommend that, but...
The SnowJobs Podcast: No.
RICK JAMES: No.
Luke Eggebraaten: Um, And. ah One thing on that too is you should never, in my opinion. Price yourself. to another company. You should price yourself to the value and your company and your numbers.
The SnowJobs Podcast: 100%.
Luke Eggebraaten: And I'm sure you guys have talked about that at nauseam too, but.
RICK JAMES: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: 100%. Oh yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: uh, take care of that, then figure out your offer in this reactivation campaign. And so it might be. like a free site visit or it might be a hey we'll we'll compare quotes here or might be um whatever trigger you want to offer.
Luke Eggebraaten: And so just reactivate.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Air fresheners.
Luke Eggebraaten: Air fresheners.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: I mean that. That's a seller right there. End. The point is, is that let's say. Gosh, this is what gets this is what's so exciting about marketing. Let's say you... land a $100 ,000.
Luke Eggebraaten: contract right and uh and maybe it's a couple maybe it's multiple it adds up to 100k What does your customer acquisition cost? on that 100k.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: It's essentially zero
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep. Very little, yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: We haven't spent anything yet, except to get the list, which might be... 500 to a thousand dollars. So.
The SnowJobs Podcast: From the scraping company?
Luke Eggebraaten: That. Yep, yep, through the scraping.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah, so you usually pay per lead. and I forget what it is, but it's... It depends on how specific you want them to get. but At the end of the day, too. to my point it's like it that shouldn't matter as much because that's just where we need to start
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: And we need to have this data and information. so Uh... So to kind of bring it back. Let's start there. How do we get commercial work? Well, we need info on who we're targeting. So find out who you're targeting first, who you want to target.
Luke Eggebraaten: get the information of. who those specific companies are, their addresses, their phone numbers.
The SnowJobs Podcast: In your area
Luke Eggebraaten: And then. Go target them. And I think one thing. that. We underestimate in business. is volume How many times you need to contact how many times you need to be?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: up front and not in their face. but around. they always see i see you yeah glacier is in the parade and then i saw your trucks and then yeah i saw Some.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: Cute guy wearing a glacier, glacier snow. you know. quarter zip and his name is jeremy yes steve
The SnowJobs Podcast: That was me. That was me. That was me.
RICK JAMES: Yes.
Luke Eggebraaten: And.
RICK JAMES: ah
Luke Eggebraaten: but And then by the time they haven't even realized it, but by the time they get an offer in an email. from you and it's like oh yeah i've seen these guys everywhere You've already built that trust and now you're just verifying it.
RICK JAMES: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: and That's how we're going to get ahead in the industry. but to the point of pricing, we also need to make sure that we are priced appropriately for our company. And I usually would never look at other competition.
Luke Eggebraaten: I know it's it's tempting to.
The SnowJobs Podcast: No.
Luke Eggebraaten: You want to compare and contrast. and Yeah. focus on your own business and and the rest will take care of itself.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You really can't do that because... No two companies are alike.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Everybody's going to have different financial structures, different pain points, and and different overhead.
Luke Eggebraaten: Right.
The SnowJobs Podcast: So if you're you know if you're basing your price off of another company that's not set up the same way as you. That that's pretty stupid. You know, you do what's right for you.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
RICK JAMES: Mm -hmm.
The SnowJobs Podcast: But. you know there But there is, I mean, there there is a low median point that. you know, in the industry that you should be shooting for. you know No matter who you are, you don't want to be under a certain level. like you don't want If everybody else is at $10 ,000 for something, you don't want to come in at $1 ,500.
Luke Eggebraaten: Right.
RICK JAMES: Hmm.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You know?
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: that's That's the problem in snow.
RICK JAMES: and Unfortunately, that's what happens.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's the problem in snow. It's just there's guys that.
Luke Eggebraaten: Right.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: you know But that's what we're trying to do. that's I mean, that's great. having you here because you're giving the real world information and uh you know we were saying The guys in this industry are. ah you know not everybody but There's a lot of guys out there that are absolutely phenomenal at doing the work
RICK JAMES: Mm -hmm.
The SnowJobs Podcast: but where they where they get themselves into trouble is their lack of business or financial acumen. So we're trying to give them everything we can to help them in those arenas. Stuff like this.
Luke Eggebraaten: And. Yeah, Steve, that's such a great point. I'd love to. Even... plug our own business, but really it's the thought of we call it outsourcing genius. And it's like, we are all good at something.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: And the stuff where you're really not good at and you don't enjoy, like we need to outsource that to somebody who loves that and is good at it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: 100%.
Luke Eggebraaten: And. That is...
RICK JAMES: Right.
Luke Eggebraaten: Like... We are. company phaser marketing like we only do digital marketing for an incredibly specific industry And we work with a hundred and. 20 plus in the industry and so it's but we also like think about this stuff in our sleep.
Luke Eggebraaten: End. Contrary to that We... Usually don't. um push snow And so like we aren't the experts in there. But when it comes to. generating business, generating applicants, generating an online presence for a snow company like that is. where we are experts at. so You can.
Luke Eggebraaten: plug and play any type of role a cpa insurance, legal. even operations, like we have to go find. If it's us, great. If it's not, we need to go bring somebody in or outsource genius. So that's something that's really helped us grow as well as just.
Luke Eggebraaten: delegating that to somebody who knows more but also enjoys it a lot more than than we do
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah. I've. I think that's the hardest part though. in the industry is, is identifying your own weaknesses and being honest with yourself about what you're not good at and what you should bring people in to do.
RICK JAMES: It is.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like, I have no problem saying like. ah My worst part. is doing billing and paperwork. Like the work will get done, but.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It may take me a month and a half to sit down and bill. for that work we did. I just. life gets in the way so i gotta hire uh you know i have a paperwork gal So there there you go. I gotta get, I gotta, I gotta do that.
Luke Eggebraaten: I would love to take, if if it's okay, take a we have an exercise to find that out.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: And.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh do you?
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah. And so it's.
The SnowJobs Podcast: No shit
Luke Eggebraaten: It's coming out in, I'm publishing a book here shortly and it's the, in the book, there's an exercise called the burnout matrix. And so. I'll try and describe this, and you guys can do this that are listening. If you have a sheet of paper, draw a big, long rectangle box on the left side, and on the right side, draw a box with four quadrants in it. so four boxes connected in the top left box.
Luke Eggebraaten: Peak Zone. write that and then in the box write you know what i love to do and what i'm great at In the right box, distraction zone. ah This is what I love to do. but I'm bad at.
Luke Eggebraaten: Bottom left box. We're gonna call that the drain zone This is what I don't love to do. but I'm great at. And the bottom right box is the burnout box. This is what I hate to do, what I'm not good at.
Luke Eggebraaten: The exercise here is pretty simple. in the In the big, long rectangle box on the left side, you write out every single thing you do in the company. Every single thing. payroll. I order printer cartridges. I do sales. I do HR. I hire. I fire. I do, I order our merch.
Luke Eggebraaten: i I plow whatever it is you do. Put that in that box. It should be a big long list because all of us do so much. And then what we're going to do is separate those. Each by each.
Luke Eggebraaten: each task in It's corrective box. So let's say I'm looking at it. I'm like. ah billing and pay billing paperwork.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: That's going to go on my bottom right box. I hate doing it. and i'm not good at it right like i'm not the best person for it and i really hate doing it
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
RICK JAMES: Mm hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: Fast forward through, all of these tasks are in their certain box. Our goal. isn't to eliminate everything in the three boxes and be in our peak zone. but it's to start with one. and either delegate.
Luke Eggebraaten: ah or sorry, delegate, eliminate, or automate it. So what does that mean? So let's take a look at the billing. It's in our burnout box. It's like our worst thing that we hate doing. And we say, okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: Could I delegate this task to somebody? Maybe. like Let's say we're doing well. Let's say we can bring somebody in and we could delegate that. Let's start there. Can we eliminate it? No.
Luke Eggebraaten: Of course not.
RICK JAMES: no
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yup.
Luke Eggebraaten: Can we automate it? Maybe. Could we talk to somebody where there's a ah bit clearer way where we can automate this? So then you start doing that. And you just do one at a time, right? You start in that burnout box.
Luke Eggebraaten: And if you do this every six months, you start to clean up. your burnout box. and You start to have a lot less in there. And you'll see with the drain zone. This is things that you just like. you have to do it because you're the best at it. but You really hate doing it.
Luke Eggebraaten: You might not clear that up fully. Same thing with the distraction zone. That one will be. Should I be doing this? I know I love doing it, but it's like a hobby at this point. like i I love, oh gosh, I love doing. our financials it's like yeah but you suck at it so we should we should take a look in the mirror here Anyway, the whole goal with it is to.
Luke Eggebraaten: shift more of what we're doing into our peak zone, which is what we love to do and what we're great at. And then one disclaimer I have in there at the bottom is. 10 % of your job will always suck. it's never going to be perfect so run this exercise i usually do it every six months Been doing it for years now. And it'll be in the in the book we publish here. It's called a Build Without Burnout. how to scale your business without burning out.
Luke Eggebraaten: So should be coming in the next few months here.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Love it.
RICK JAMES: That's awesome.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's awesome, dude. Good for you
RICK JAMES: That's awesome. That's a great. That's a great talent.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It is a great exercise.
RICK JAMES: you know Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: It's...
The SnowJobs Podcast: It's so simple.
Luke Eggebraaten: It's very convicting. You'll look at it and you're like, why am I doing? This still you know, it's a maybe a $5 an hour task or a $10 an hour task, but then we're complaining how we don't have time.
Luke Eggebraaten: We don't have time to hang out with our kids. We don't have time to sell. We don't have time to work this list. Like whatever it is, that is keeping you from doing. your peak zone tasks. So you got to take a look in the mirror first, and that's just an easy exercise to help with it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: amen dude you know what before we get back to the questions that's awesome luke uh let's hit some commercials real quick and we'll come back and we'll uh we'll keep going with luke for a little bit
Luke Eggebraaten: Let's do it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: All right, we are back. So let's do one more with Luke. We got one more question we're going to hit today. and uh Oh. Wait a minute. Yep. We got one more here. Let's go ah what do i want to What do I want to ask you here? Okay.
The SnowJobs Podcast: What do you feel is the most practical way to market outside of Facebook? Facebook is flooded. That is what one of the listeners is saying.
Luke Eggebraaten: I fully agree. i think it's I would tie this back to what we talked about earlier in the episode of. uh It goes back to building relationships, but you have to be pointed in how you're going to build those relationships and have a plan.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: So go get the list, build the list, be specific in who you're targeting. and Really, this is the part most people miss is go target them. ah build your lookalike audience through them with Facebook. But separate from that, you've got to be.
Luke Eggebraaten: calling them, leaving a voicemail. texting. showing up at their office with Sandy's donuts or whatever you want to do, making sure that you're in front of them. every time so that we hit our 21 touch points and by the 22nd touch point They hire us and we're not.
Luke Eggebraaten: stalking them we're not like inundating them with it we're just staying available staying top of mind Because as you guys know, when somebody sees a Facebook ad, they may not be in the decision -making process to switch snow removal companies.
Luke Eggebraaten: like We know in that.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: But if they keep seeing us and then when the decision comes up. to make a change or The contractor does make a big mistake. who's top of mind, right? And then being available.
RICK JAMES: alright
Luke Eggebraaten: uh to contact them so making sure we don't lose that opportunity to convert. and I would just say that is. starting with the basics, starting with stuff that's free, your email marketing campaign. with the the list.
Luke Eggebraaten: your organic social media content. you're just making sure that we are doing the non -digital and pairing it up with the digital and that will help generate more business. but As I mentioned earlier, Facebook can be a great distribution platform. four more leads.
Luke Eggebraaten: But if it's not working, it's likely that... we're not doing the organic stuff first.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I love it, dude. yeah I mean, do you think the younger you think the younger crowd is too focused and too dependent on social media marketing?
RICK JAMES: Makes sense.
The SnowJobs Podcast: because that's where they spend so much of their time. On social media?
Luke Eggebraaten: I'll say this, Steve. It's a really good question. A lot of... People listening. are opportunistic I think as well. And if there's opportunities on social.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: Let's go get them, right?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: and I think what can happen, it happens to all of us is. We think we're working. on social. and we're not I mean, at the at the end of the day, it's...
Luke Eggebraaten: Are you actually working? If it's meaningful, if you're creating content, if you're you're building relationships, if you're if you're being social with it. And I think one thing you could look at too.
Luke Eggebraaten: is taking a look at your feed. And I heard this from Gary Vee the other day.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: If your feed is garbage, if it's... you know No offense to anyone that likes politics. If it's politics, if it's news stuff, and if it's all this, but you want to be successful with your company.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: Uh, What you can do is in the top right, you just... Click the three dots and say not interested. Not interested. And then.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: And that. teaches the algorithm what you're interested in. And then if you see a, let's say I see a really good post from. um Peroni landscaping. And my gosh, that was super in depth. It was, you know, Brett did a great job of describing the issue and how they fixed it and X, Y, Z. I like it I comment on it.
Luke Eggebraaten: And then I scroll and I see another political post. I hit not interested. You're teaching your algorithm what you want to see. And so if you're not.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm.
Luke Eggebraaten: getting what you want out of social media it's because you're not training it properly and If you guys look at my LinkedIn or my Instagram, it is all. Business. Dirt.
Luke Eggebraaten: Snow. I mean, it is so. primed up for when i jump on there it's actually so helpful
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: And I would just say that.
RICK JAMES: Mm -hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: uh steve to your question of if we're intentional with it it, can be one of the best tools. for generating. new team members to come work with us. and new work to scale our business.
Luke Eggebraaten: And you need both to scale.
The SnowJobs Podcast: 100%.
Luke Eggebraaten: uh And, but. I think we can get very distracted with it and use it as an excuse of I'm working. so i would just That's one little tip.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yes.
Luke Eggebraaten: that
RICK JAMES: Heh.
Luke Eggebraaten: That. that we've used.
RICK JAMES: Doom scrolling.
Luke Eggebraaten: It's just. yeah doom scrolling but you got to train your algorithm if you're serious about it if you're not serious about it you're probably not that serious about your business and that's just
The SnowJobs Podcast: Amen.
Luke Eggebraaten: being honest.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Amen. It's funny you mentioned Brett Peroni. That that is the one guy. He holds a record here. He is the only guy we've ever reached out to about doing the show. That has never gotten back to us.
Luke Eggebraaten: Really?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah. Not only has he not said yes, but he's never gotten, he just never even like he read it and no response.
Luke Eggebraaten: Oh come on.
Luke Eggebraaten: yeah I don't know if you guys saw this, but he was just on the Worksite Wisdom podcast with James from Innovative.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like...
Luke Eggebraaten: So that'll be coming up. So we got we gotta to pound Brett and be like, hey. Right. You got it. Gotta jump on the snow jobs.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, I mean, that's I would have thought, yeah. would i I was hoping to get him because he has a pretty cool company and he's done you know everything you look at.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: he's he's Blown up. Like he's gone in a different direction than most places.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And, and I think that could be really valuable for guys to hear, but yeah, he ghosted us.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: So it's like, Oh, I'm like, wow.
Luke Eggebraaten: Oh man.
The SnowJobs Podcast: and Good for you. Like the most popular podcast out there.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah. No, I'm not even going to respond to that.
Luke Eggebraaten: we yeah We we started we started working with That crew.
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah
RICK JAMES: Yeah. Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: probably five or four or five months ago or so and it's been awesome they're in our we have a new like diamond program. And so we get to come actually to their site and shoot content and then run all of that.
Luke Eggebraaten: And so I've been getting to know their team really well. They're at storm field day and, uh,
RICK JAMES: Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: it's It's been awesome. So huge shout out to those guys.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's cool.
Luke Eggebraaten: And yeah, apparently now we got to get them on the show.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, we'd love to have him if he if he wants to return the the DMs. um
Luke Eggebraaten: We got to get through to his agent. That's what it is.
The SnowJobs Podcast: There you go, that's probably right
RICK JAMES: Yeah, that's probably it. All the levels, got to get to the levels.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You know, why don't we have an agent, Jeremy? Why do we still handle all our own ah influx of messages and stuff?
RICK JAMES: Because we're personable, Steve.
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah
RICK JAMES: we like We like the people.
Luke Eggebraaten: There you go.
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah
RICK JAMES: We like the people.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I don't see myself as that important, honestly. Are you kidding me?
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: um Luke, really quick, gun to your head. outside of a hiring Outside of hiring a professional marketing company. What would you as a professional marketer recommend that a company could do on its own to bring in leads?
Luke Eggebraaten: Easy. um I gotta take a look at your organic social media. You gotta hit the big four.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: Facebook organic. This organic means free. Just you posting, showing your faces on there. posting personal content. Facebook business page. Instagram business page, LinkedIn company page, your Google business profile.
Luke Eggebraaten: The Google business profile has a social media. feature to it so what that does is that hits the big four Facebook, that's kind of your residential mom, pop communities, you know. relatives, things like that.
Luke Eggebraaten: Instagram, a lot more contractors. That's where you're going to get more of these partnerships. You're going to get networking advice, things like that.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: LinkedIn, decision makers, you're going to get your PMs, your owners, presidents. big commercial companies, and you're just going to be able to have a direct line to them and your Google business profile, that same post is going to hit the, uh, the. the search engine. And so Google is going to pick up on those search words of what you're posting. Then let me back up. So how do I post on all four?
Luke Eggebraaten: I always recommend just cross post the exact same post to all four platforms. Don't overthink it. One of the biggest killers. of marketing is overthinking. And so many people that try and do longer form LinkedIn, shorter form.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: Instagram. It's like. Get. Over it? post your post and get to the next one and get you know get back to running your business and so what that'll do is that'll train you is this only takes me five minutes to have a good thought and to put something out.
Luke Eggebraaten: put it on all four platforms and then get on with my day where now I do that. weekly and it's just a part of my habits where if it takes me three hours because I'm trying to perfect everything. I'm not going to do it as much. so I'd start there, start organic on the big four. and just cross post so it's easy.
Luke Eggebraaten: your google business profile that i mentioned clean that up Make sure you go get your Google reviews. All of this stuff is free, still free. The third one. This is where...
Luke Eggebraaten: I guess without an agency. if if If it's not an agency, you can certainly clean up your website on your own. And what I would recommend is starting with. Your website should have service pages. And so what you want to do, what Google does is Google wants to select a company.
Luke Eggebraaten: to answer somebody's question the best that they can. So somebody answers asks a question. How much does it cost to hire a snow snow removal company? ah Google will take a look and they scrape the internet and they see, okay, this company has authority and this company has a page that talks about.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Luke Eggebraaten: Commercial snow. Awesome. They also have a frequently asked question that talks about how much it costs. So if you're in your website on your own, you can certainly do it. Make sure that you have a dedicated service page for each service. and get specific and always think of educating and adding value.
Luke Eggebraaten: That's all this is. We're trying to help Google. answer questions for their searchers. And that's the same thing with AI overviews. Chat GPT. Google AI overviews, things like that.
Luke Eggebraaten: They. take a look at. your authority, so your Google business profile, your reviews. all of that and then they pair it with uh relevancy of the topic. And so if you just nerd out even.
Luke Eggebraaten: and talk about real numbers of what things cost what your fleet looks like what other companies may do and you have that on your service pages. That will really help. You can do that for free.
Luke Eggebraaten: And then lastly, let's throw out, i'll I'll go back to email marketing. You're building your own list.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: One big thing I didn't touch on. With. Email marketing, it sounds old school. but you're actually building your own asset. So what's what's a couple... Issues with YouTube and Facebook and Instagram. They all have their own algorithms even Google so algorithms change and they shift and you can get ghosted overnight or shadow banned or whatever But when you build your own set of a client list and you build your own relationships, you build.
Luke Eggebraaten: that, you can then harness that you don't have so much reliance on an algorithm. So I would always recommend like building that list of engaged users. And that's where you guys do such a good job with the podcast is. Everyone listening here.
Luke Eggebraaten: uh isn't through instagram right maybe they initially found you through that which is a distribution channel but now they're connected to you guys through the show
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Luke Eggebraaten: which is an asset. so Think of how can we build an asset for free and get them you know off of these platforms, but use the platforms to keep them coming. But at the end of the day, we want to bring them off the platform. so Those are a couple of recommendations there. i know could keep going but i want to respect everyone's time as well
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah This is gold dude
RICK JAMES: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: This is gold.
RICK JAMES: And it barely scratched the surface.
Luke Eggebraaten: i'm I'm starting to get sweaty.
The SnowJobs Podcast: do You guys, I mean.
Luke Eggebraaten: I'm getting to heated up here.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Luke, this is incredible stuff. And like I said, it's night and day from the answers that, you know, the snow pros gave to the marketing promotion questions. and Like we're so. I feel so bad. Like I'm. so old school it's like i don't even know if that shit was helpful but i'm still a face -to -face like...
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah like you said something along the lines of bring the donuts like go meet them in person Find the decision maker and say, hey.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah. Gotta do it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I noticed I do the lot next door. I noticed that your lot was shit last year. I mean, obviously you cleaned it up, but basically that's your approach and say, hey. If you want it to look like this, you can have that.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You know, we're willing to do it. That's that's kind of an old school, I'm a face -to -face guy, but I know a lot of guys don't like that anymore.
Luke Eggebraaten: Steve, I I want to pair this together because what you're saying is so spot on. like That is the best way to do it. What? what i'm saying here is just a way for you to have a plan to go do the old school and to then
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sure. No, I get it but like even the scraping companies like no idea never knew that that they you could do that like it Stuff like that, that's that's really valuable information because that saves you time.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah. Mm hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: that that a lot of these guys don't have.
RICK JAMES: Oh yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: you know, including myself. If I was really doing a targeted campaign, I wanted to know. You know... Like you said with the restaurants I wanted to know okay in my area in my search area of of my core Business area. these are the These are who I got to go after.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I would have had to look them up individually because I would have no idea that there was these scraping companies out there. So, I mean, that's gold.
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's great information.
Luke Eggebraaten: Appreciate that, man. And thank you guys for having me on. It's like, I always love this. And I know I mentioned at the beginning for anyone listening still deep in this episode. Seriously, shoot me a message. I'm willing to help in any way I can. If I don't know the answer, I'll go find it. I can help you with. digital marketing, marketing questions, and even business, I get. the ability to have a front row seat of over 120.
Luke Eggebraaten: companies that are from 500k in revenue to 120 million. and everything in between and it's just
The SnowJobs Podcast: Wow.
Luke Eggebraaten: i my One of my biggest passions is coaching. And so I know... Like, as we're talking on this. episode here. This is what. I do for fun. This is what I love to do. I love unpacking businesses.
RICK JAMES: Mm hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: so Yeah. And anyone that has any questions, feel free to just reach out and we can go from there.
The SnowJobs Podcast: What's the best way to message you?
Luke Eggebraaten: Yeah, I would just say social media is easy. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn. You can find me Luke Egebraten or Phaser Marketing or... I always give my personal number. 218. two three four seven, three, four, five, shoot me a text.
Luke Eggebraaten: Nothing gets lost that way. very easy to do voice notes things like that but i always want to be connected with you guys and Jeremy and Steve, I know that's your guys' MO too. You're very personable. Irreachable.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely.
Luke Eggebraaten: um But yeah, just shoot me a text or.
RICK JAMES: Mm hmm.
Luke Eggebraaten: Um, head over to our socials and then our website is phasermarketing .com.
The SnowJobs Podcast: we We should have probably told him, Jay. that putting his... Personal. phone number uh for this crowd is probably not the best idea but just kidding no i'm just kidding but dude this has been awesome and you know i was texting jeremy here while you were talking about one thing And I...
Luke Eggebraaten: oh
RICK JAMES: That's okay.
Luke Eggebraaten: No, I'm just kidding.
