The SnowJobs Podcast: It's amazing when ah doctors actually listen to you when you're telling them what the fuck is wrong and what you need to get better. Once they started, I think it was 24 hours and I was like, boop. I'm literally circling the drain and my wife, uh, thank God she's a pit bull when she has to be.
The SnowJobs Podcast: She, uh, basically. I don't know what she did, like blackmailed the doctor in the. prescribing what i needed and what worked the last time and he finally agreed and within 24 hours i was like down to no almost no fever it was great so But yeah, it was bad.
RICK JAMES: Yeah, you were.

RICK JAMES: You were touching gold.

RICK JAMES: And oh, I mean, I thought you last I heard you got out the 104 I didn't hear about the 105
The SnowJobs Podcast: 105 on That was when I was actually at the hospital. ah Yeah, 105 .1 by their thermometer. But, you know, they ah they have that that more sensitive thermometer.
RICK JAMES: Nice.

The SnowJobs Podcast: uh but yeah i'm uh i'm feeling a hell of a lot better i've been fever free now for like uh

The SnowJobs Podcast: Since Thursday or yeah since Thursday, I think was the first day I actually had no fever and now it's Saturday So this is the third day with no fever and I'm feeling really Really back to normal, honestly, ah except for the ah the cough. It's still definitely in my chest a little bit. So if I cough, I apologize. but But, yeah, definitely going from circle. If I had had a firearm close on, like, Wednesday or Thursday night, I probably would have ended it, dude. It was really bad.
RICK JAMES: Hey, you were rough.

RICK JAMES: You're rough.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Dude, it was as bad as I've ever been. like i i don't know i don't know how else to explain it like i was sleeping 22 hours a day i could not uh I couldn't move. I couldn't do anything. The fever was just too high, but my vitals were good the whole time. So I think the doctors were just like, oh we'll keep rolling the dice. You know, let's check back in a couple of days, check back in a couple of days.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You really got to advocate for yourself out there these days with the medical profession. It's, you know, be your own advocate. If you know something's wrong and and you know these guys are not giving you what you need, you you really got to go after them and and make sure you're the the squeaky wheel to get the grease.
RICK JAMES: nice
The SnowJobs Podcast: But... We are good to go, and you are fresh back from Equip. How ah how was it? Good time?
RICK JAMES: Great time. Yeah, we had a great time out there. I mean, we had a... We had fun. was not Not uncontrolled fun. We were under control for the most part. and now we had a Really great house. and Good people.
RICK JAMES: So, yeah. It was fun. It was it was good to get back out there to equip.

The SnowJobs Podcast: so but uh yeah that's good i'm glad you guys had a good time and uh i wish i could have made it but like i said tuesday morning what monday night i was like ah you know what i'm touching go like i I could probably do this with like a – I think I had like a 99 .9, like 101 type fever.
RICK JAMES: There you go.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Because my fever had been so high for the previous week. 99 -100 felt like nothing. Like I was like doing cart cartwheels and shit. So I'm like, yeah, i I'd probably be all right if I just get myself to the airport, get on the plane. By the time I get there, I'm sure I'll be fine. And I woke up Tuesday morning and I'm like. Yeah, no, it's still there. I'm not i'm not messing with it. it's just Let me just get my strength back. because It zapped me, whatever.

But, the you know, the boys were there and they have ah they have big reports on ah on what was going on at Equip. and ah you know what some There was some new snow equipment out there, so we're looking forward to talking about it. We had to. walk a little ways we're walking through there's four of us walking through an industrial warehouse with With the roller bags and shit, you know, we're just waiting for shit that I think we're going to...

Putz: It's called, like, Boomba's Pizza. Nikki and I have gone there since we've been going down there.

Putz: They got a couple. restaurants down there.

Patty Salmon: Nah, Tuesday was pretty tame.
RICK JAMES: Nah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: All right. So then Wednesday was the first day of equip and.
RICK JAMES: team.
The SnowJobs Podcast: How did it go? What was, uh, what was it like getting into the expo center? Was it a fricking shit show again? or Not too bad.
RICK JAMES: No, honestly, we we all did our check -in at the airport and we got off the plane, which was that smooth. They did a smart deal with that.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Patty Salmon: Great idea.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
RICK JAMES: ah I mean, they did it a few years ago, I know, but it was it's the best way to do it. I mean, you're in in and out of there quickly. but well We got him to equip that morning or afternoon or whenever when they opened. I mean, there is like.
RICK JAMES: No, we're not done. Check -ins? Either everybody has checked in or they weren't coming yet.
Putz: No.
RICK JAMES: I don't know.
Putz: Yeah.

RICK JAMES: but I mean, the the parking lot was full. I mean, holy shit. problem.
Putz: It was the fullest I think we've ever seen. We always park on that backside. and uh
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Putz: Um. I've never seen parking like that. It was insane. But they're doing some construction on the Expo Center, it looks like. So maybe they've got some other lots blocked off, but...
Putz: yeah the parking i mean we got there about maybe an hour or 45 minutes after it opened. down That parking lot, we had to park all the way at the back, I mean almost to that main road that kind of circles around it.
Putz: But yeah, once you once you got in there.
The SnowJobs Podcast: No shit.
Putz: Yeah, you I mean, you didn't know it was... I mean... yeah there's no line for check -in And it wasn't like it was, you know. people i mean there's a lot of people but it's the place is just so big you don't even recognize it you know so
The SnowJobs Podcast: The last time we went. Was what, like two years ago? We missed two years?
RICK JAMES: Yeah. Two years.
The SnowJobs Podcast: So three years ago and there was a. That line to to get your check in was snaked all through the lobby and out the door. You remember that? It was like an hour to.
Putz: Yeah.
RICK JAMES: it was Yeah, it was like that. It was kind of like that the next day on on Thursday. It was more like that, I guess.

RICK JAMES: It was busier on Thursday.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay, so maybe a lot of people didn't go Wednesday.
RICK JAMES: Lisa Chicken was.

RICK JAMES: But yeah. Well, we before we went to the show, we went to a nice little, where you guys were a love to gun.

Putz: we got two platters of those appetizers but it was a big platter of smoked meat I mean everything from brisket to chicken pulled pork. Smoked wings, you name it.
RICK JAMES: Turkey, yeah.
Putz: and because It was insane. So...

RICK JAMES: I'll just start doing a normal. normal walk around and um Where'd we go first? Of course, I think we ran an Arctic right away, didn't we?

Patty Salmon: Yeah, basically first booth right when we walk in.
RICK JAMES: Yeah.

RICK JAMES: they're they're good they were good they're they're showing their you know the razor back off and they had Had all the other plows in the booth. the LDS and... no wings and stuff, so it was... i mean they were Yeah, they were busy. They were showing people their stuff. So it was pretty cool.

RICK JAMES: They get that. Their booth is always a fun booth to be in, you know, just friendly and everybody. comes up to you and it doesn't matter who you are.

RICK JAMES: Ah! I thought it was... That's a maybe a couple years ago might have been fuller possibly when we went

Putz: It just didn't seem as busy, I guess, you know.
RICK JAMES: It's shoulder to shoulder in there as it has in the past, you know. you know.

Patty Salmon: so I did kind of voice that concern. Their response was the fact that you're standing directly on the axle and not in front of it or in back of it. like other uh machines i guess others you're just in back um they also didn't exactly have snow tires on there either, in my opinion.

Patty Salmon: So other manufacturers have tire savers, right? They're guards that... they'll hit your tire if if you if you have your wings sucked back and you and you angle your plow. And it's just a guard to keep your tire from catching a piston or something like that. What they did is they actually use hydraulics.
Patty Salmon: Um, I like it. The engineers are going to hate me for explaining it this way, but they essentially have your standard. feed and return on your hydraulic piston. And then they have a third line on there. So when you have your wings folded back towards your machine and you try to angle it.
Patty Salmon: It will start to push your wing out when it gets to the point that you've set.
