Speaker
Hello, my friend. Welcome to the It's Happening For Me podcast. If you are obsessed with all things spirituality, personal growth and development, and living as your highest self, you are in the right place.
Living Out of Alignment and Self-Discovery
00:00:14
Speaker
I am your host, Alyssa, and I spent the majority of my teenage years and young 20s living totally out of climate. As I started to question my patterns and behaviors and actually got to know myself at the soul level, I realized that everything was happening for me.
Purpose of the Podcast and Invitation
00:00:30
Speaker
Now, as a spiritual life coach and human design guide, I am here to share my voice, personal stories, human design wisdom, and learn from incredible individuals living their purpose. Join me each week as we walk the spiral path of purpose together. I cannot wait to dive in.
00:00:53
Speaker
Hello, my babes. Welcome back to the It's Happening For Me podcast. I am your host, Alyssa, and I am so excited you're here with me today.
Purpose as Energy Frequency
00:01:02
Speaker
So today's episode, I am excited because we are going to be exploring
00:01:08
Speaker
how purpose is really more of an energy frequency and not so much a job title or career. So I'm going to explain to you exactly why like kind of coming from a quantum physics lens. And then I'm going to explain to you in a way coming from human design and gene case lens.
00:01:26
Speaker
and then share some personal examples and then also show you exactly where you can look in your own cosmic profiles so you can start playing with this. And then at the very end of the episode, I'm going to be announcing a super exciting surprise. So stay tuned for that and let's get into it.
Struggles with Finding Purpose
00:01:46
Speaker
If you're anything like me and you are a purpose seeker, you may have in the past or currently be struggling with trying so hard to figure out your purpose. It's like, you just want to know what is it? You just want to know the ins, the outs, the hows, the whys, the shoulds, like how can you step into this energy? And
00:02:10
Speaker
I for so long had so much pressure to figure this out. Once I had my spiritual awakening in 2018 and I was really like diving into all the spiritual modalities, all the personal growth and development while also still really growing at my corporate job. I just wanted to figure it out. Like I swear every single day I was pulling Oracle cards. I was asking like,
00:02:39
Speaker
What is my purpose? Please tell me. And of course, they were always guiding me back to myself of like meditate or, you know, the instructions just like go within. And so it's like, okay, but if I go within, I still want to find out the answers. And like, what is the answer? Like blah, blah, blah, blah. And I would just put myself in this like extreme anxious spiraling loop of like,
00:02:59
Speaker
wanting to figure it out and feeling so much pressure. And then take a deep breath, you know, I realized that it doesn't work that way. And as I really started just like following the breadcrumbs of like, okay, what excites me
00:03:15
Speaker
What do I feel really lit up by?
Introduction to Gene Keys
00:03:17
Speaker
What makes me feel really passionate? That's when I found human design. And then later on in my journey, found jean keys. And really, once I found jean keys, like everything clicked for me. And I was able to be like, whoa.
00:03:35
Speaker
Like, oh my gosh, I have been in my mind. I have been in my mind. I have been letting my mind run the show. I have been taking in all the energy from around me, giving into all of this external pressure from the mind and from everyone around me and from just outside forces, society, everything.
00:03:56
Speaker
And the Gene Keys really allowed me to take a deep breath and really an exhale and realize that, oh my God, my purpose isn't a job title. It's not a career. Even though I knew it, because I was always saying these things, I was always kind of repeating these things of like, oh, your purpose is your essence. Your purpose is you. Yes, I was saying those things, but it wasn't until I understood myself through the Gene Keys that I really embodied that knowing. And I was like, oh my God.
00:04:26
Speaker
No, our purpose is literally our energetic frequency. And so it doesn't matter necessarily what career we have, what job title we have, because we're always going to be emitting our energetic frequency. We're always going to be in that energy of our purpose.
Understanding Shadow, Gift, and Siddhic States
00:04:49
Speaker
The gene kit is really fascinating because it shows three different frequency bands of each of those archetypes that we have. So there's actually a shadow frequency, which is when we're in the more victimized state. That's kind of where we're asleep to our patterns. We're kind of asleep to any self-awareness and we're really operating from that shadow aspect. And we all have very specific shadows that we are operating from.
00:05:17
Speaker
And this is not bad. This is not good. It just is what it is. There's really no like morality when we're looking at this, you know, like we don't want to deem the shadows as like bad or
00:05:30
Speaker
something that we should be shamed of or be trying so hard to move out of. No, it's just a part of us. And the more that we accept that and we realize that we actually need these shadows, the shadows is actually the soil from which our gift is able to bloom from. So once we really make friends with our shadows, once we really are aware of them and we step into the gift frequency, which is all about love and it's this other
00:05:58
Speaker
new way of thinking. It's this new way of being. It is this higher frequency of operating in the world. Then that's when we are getting more into like flow and harmony and things start opening up for us. And then take it one step further, there's even a civic state. And the civic frequencies are like these enlightened states.
00:06:20
Speaker
And these are very hard to describe. They're very mystical. They're very divine. And these are something that, you know, we may come in and out of contact with during our lives. And so they're very special. They're very magical. And our real aim, though, you know, the middle path would be to
00:06:47
Speaker
just focus on our gifts, focus on what our gift frequencies are and living from those states. And that is a state of love that is having an open heart that is, you know, having compassion and gentleness and patience for ourselves and others. And so what I
00:07:06
Speaker
really love is that we can actually look to our gene keys.
The Genius Sequence in Gene Keys
00:07:11
Speaker
And when we look at the genius sequence, okay, so the genius sequence is going to be all about our purpose. And it's all about discovering our four prime gifts. So when we look at the sequence, we're able to actually see, we look at four different spheres. So we look at what our life's work is. We look at what our evolution is. So that's kind of like this core
00:07:35
Speaker
challenge that we keep bumping up against as we're living our life's work. And then we go to our radiance and our radiance is all about how we are here to be healthy and vital, you know, and the shadow side of that would be like disease, the shadow side of that would be, you know, living a not radiant life. And then we go to our purpose and our purpose is all about
00:08:01
Speaker
you know, who we be. It's like our life's work is what we're here to do. That is our conscious sun. We do it 70%. That's 70% of our design of our energetic makeup, because it represents the sun, which is the biggest planet in the solar system. And then we look at
00:08:21
Speaker
okay, I'm sorry, the sun, the sun is the star, the biggest star in our solar system. So look that up. I'm like, wait, is this not a planet? No, it's a star. So anyway, so the sun is the biggest star. And so that is what makes up 70% of our personality. So that's why our life's work sphere is going to be like the energy that we're most familiar with. And in human design, that's our conscious sun. And then
00:08:49
Speaker
Yeah, so as we work through that pathway of the genius sequence, the activation sequence, we're able to understand our purpose on a whole other level. So it's not anymore like trying to figure out outside of ourselves, like, what job should I have? What career should I have? Like, oh, I'll only be happy and thriving once I get that career. Until then, I'm going to stay unhappy. I'm going to stay
00:09:18
Speaker
stressed out. I'm going to stay unfulfilled." When we think of life like that, we're really externalizing our happiness and our joy, which is never going to be fulfilling. So instead, if we can say like, okay, even if maybe you don't love the job that you're in right now or the career that you're in, and you are in a transformational period where you want to step into something else and you want to step into a work that you love to do,
00:09:43
Speaker
we can still find ways to cultivate that happiness and that joy and that satisfaction, that peace, that success, that surprise and delight in our everyday life.
Finding Joy and Satisfaction with Gene Keys
00:09:54
Speaker
That is what is going to allow us to essentially raise our frequencies so that we can start getting these divine
00:10:05
Speaker
opportunities that start opening our, opening ourselves up to them. So we never want to externalize our emotions, essentially. You know, if we are always waiting for something to happen so that we can be happy or fulfilled,
00:10:20
Speaker
it's just like you're chasing the can down the road. It's never going to happen. And I know because I've been there for so many years. And so yeah, once I feel like once I really understood my gene keys, I was like, Oh my God, this makes so much sense. Like it's so much more than just a career title or a job title. It's like, I am this essence all of the time. And what's so fascinating is that
00:10:45
Speaker
Like I said, someone doesn't need to even have ever studied human design or gene keys to be familiar with these energies because this is your energy. It's literally you. It's literally your sole blueprint.
00:10:58
Speaker
I found it really fun to go back and look at my life from this lens of my jean keys to really understand myself at an even deeper level. And it's so crazy how all of this just makes so much sense. It just hits. It makes so much sense. I'm like, oh my God, I could see this. I can see that. So today I really wanted to talk to you guys all about life's work. Again, that is our conscious sun. And so it makes up 70% of our personality, of our energy.
00:11:28
Speaker
And life's work in Jean Keys is really what we're here to do. This is what we do all of the time. Even when we're not trying, it's just like we eat, breathe, live this stuff. Like this is what we're always doing. And so I wanted to give you an example of what mine is and how like looking back on my life, this was always there. And then I'll show you exactly how you can look through yours to start playing with these energies. So for me, my life's work is
00:11:57
Speaker
In human design, it's Gate 54, which is the marrying maiden. And so that gate is really all about wanting to ascend and transform. And it's all about being recognized and really discovered, recognized from
00:12:13
Speaker
people of power and people that are higher up on the ladder than me. And it's like, I am able for, I'm able for them to see me and help pull me up. And I recognize that this has been always happening my whole life, even when I was out of alignment. And so I'm going to talk to you guys about that. But in the gene keys, this is gene key 54. So
00:12:39
Speaker
The gift frequency is aspiration, the shadow frequency is greed, and the acidic state is ascension. And so this energy, again, really wants to transform. It wants to ascend. It wants to keep growing. And it's all about both the spiritual and the material plane. So it has a lot to do with this 3D world, just like the mundane day-to-day things.
00:13:06
Speaker
And also, it's very spiritual. It's very mystical. It's very like wanting to transcend. It's very much like wanting to evolve and become enlightened. It's just like, it's obsessed with that. And that makes up 70% of my personality. So I've always been like that.
Career Advancements and Aspirational Energy
00:13:27
Speaker
And this is so fascinating. So
00:13:29
Speaker
This is a great example of where like our job title doesn't matter because I've worked in many different positions if we're just going to talk about jobs for a second. So I've worked in many different positions in many different industries and this energy has always been there. So a first example, when I was, I was probably like 22. Yeah, I think I was like 22 years old.
00:13:52
Speaker
I was working at JC Penney's as just like a sales associate in I think the junior's department. And I was there for a couple of years and then they were doing some sort of weird like management shift and my hours started getting cut. And so I was like, oh, like I need to apply to another job. I was still going to college at this time, community college. So I saw an opening for Sears for the same exact position, like a sales associate.
00:14:18
Speaker
for like the juniors department. So I applied to that. I went to the interview and had an interview and was immediately offered a position.
00:14:29
Speaker
And he was like, oh, I have a position for you. But it's actually a different position that we didn't even post online, but I think it would be a perfect fit for it. And so he's like, I want to offer you the position to be ambassador for our Kardashian collection. So this is when the Kardashians put out their KK Kardashian collection line to Sears. And so he's like, the pay is more. So
00:14:55
Speaker
the pay that I would have got for just the regular sales associate position was $8 an hour. But this Kardashian Collection Ambassador was $13.75 an hour. And so I was like, Oh my God. And then he's like, Yeah, like, so basically, it's super simple. All you're going to do is like, you're going to be responsible for the line. So you're going to be responsible
00:15:17
Speaker
For like when we get new shipments of clothes in like you're gonna be setting up the displays you're going to when you're on like on the floor you're only gonna be working in that section and you're gonna be like helping customers you know really promote the brand you're gonna get free Kardashian collection clothes every single month we want you to wear them.
00:15:39
Speaker
you know, so wear them, really show them off, we want to show off the brand. And yeah, like all you literally have to do is just keep up that section. And that's it. And so you guys, I didn't even apply for that job. But just from being in the interview and just like,
00:15:55
Speaker
I guess just being so good at what I do. I was so passionate about working as a sales associate. I always want to be the best. This is also very Capricornian energy, but it's very Gate 54. I always want to be the best, so I always hit in interviews. Every job I've ever interviewed for, I've always gotten it. Except the first couple of interviews I ever did, which we'll talk about in another episode, but those were hilarious.
00:16:22
Speaker
But anyways, so I got that position. I was so freaking excited because minimum wage at that time was only $8 an hour. Here I was getting a freaking dream job that I didn't even apply for, for $13.75 an hour. And I was getting free Kardashian collection clothes.
00:16:39
Speaker
And I was getting to wear them to work. I was getting I loved clothes at this time. It was like really fun for me. So I was getting to like do the displays and like put the jewelry how I wanted and it was so much creative. So much creative expression, so much creative.
00:16:56
Speaker
responsibility it was like I was allowed to like do my own thing and then also I felt so much freedom because I didn't really have to answer to like any boss like my boss was still the boss of like the women's department in Sears but I was still kind of treated like I was like this own special like
00:17:16
Speaker
I don't know. It was just very interesting. But you guys, there also came a downside to this. This also pissed off a lot of people. So there were a lot of girls that were working at Sears that wanted to apply to this position when it opened up. They already knew about it because
00:17:32
Speaker
it was an internal position. And so they didn't even post this externally. It's just that I happened to go interview for one of the sales associates positions, and then I was just a fit, so they gave me the job. So I didn't have friends. When I was there, people were not nice to me. They knew how much I was getting paid because this was an internal posting that they all saw and were hoping to get. So people weren't nice to me, and I basically had no community there. I was pretty much on my own.
00:18:02
Speaker
But I just didn't mind because it was so fun for me. I loved looking at the clothes. I loved getting
00:18:10
Speaker
new clothes every month. It really was a dream job. So that's an example of how I didn't have to try to do anything. These energies that we carry are ourselves. I was just aspiring. That's aspiration. I really loved working in the junior's department. I wanted to be the best. I wanted to do more. I've always wanted to take on more roles. I wanted to do the displays. I wanted to be in charge of putting the jewelry how I wanted it.
00:18:39
Speaker
But when I was at JCPenney's, it's just like a normal sales associate. They had actual positions of people who like did the displays and stuff. So I was never able to do that. I was never able to have any creative.
00:18:50
Speaker
expression type of stuff. I was more just like a cashier and like doing go backs. So it wasn't that fun. But hey, my soul was recognized. I was recognized in the interview by this person. And he just saw something in me and gave me the shot. And it was so freaking cool. And so it's like, we don't have to try to be this energy. We just are this energy. Okay. Another great example.
00:19:15
Speaker
Um, I was working. So after that job, I started working at, um, a restaurant called Kelly comfort, which was like a barbecue, like sports bar restaurant. And I started off as a host because this is the first time I ever worked in the restaurant energy, uh, restaurant industry. I didn't have any experience. And so that's typically how you start off is like hosting. So I was a host and like, I really loved it there. I was making so many friends. Like it was so awesome.
00:19:43
Speaker
And I guess I was good at what I was doing. I guess I was very reliable. And so I remember one day the owner was like, Hey, Lissa, can you come talk to us in the office? We need to talk to you. And for some reason I thought I was getting in trouble. This is what's so funny, you guys is that when I'm at work, I am a good ass worker. Like typically I'm about to tell you a story in a second, a little bit, but typically I am such a good worker. I'm very reliable, like super reliable. I show up all the time.
00:20:12
Speaker
besides my partying days, and I want to do the best job possible. I'm very coachable. I take directions, very good. You can tell me whatever you want me to do, and it's good, right? So they called me to the office, and I'm like, hey, I thought I was going to get fired, because again, I always think that
00:20:30
Speaker
Oh, something must be wrong, even though I'm not even doing anything wrong. So he was like, Oh, like we want to congratulate you for like doing such a great job. We actually want to take you or send you to get your food handler's card because we want to promote you to be a server. And I was like,
00:20:46
Speaker
Oh my god, I was so happy. But I was also so scared and nervous because there were some girls who were there before me that were hostesses that were in line to become servers. And there it was like really hard to become a server. So and they only had a certain amount of spots, you know, so it was kind of like,
00:21:04
Speaker
There were people that were ahead of me, essentially, that have been there longer than me, that were waiting to become a server. They wanted it so bad. This wasn't even on my radar, you guys. I wasn't trying to become a server. I didn't have the goal of becoming a server. I didn't even think that was possible for me.
Unexpected Promotions and Recognition
00:21:20
Speaker
But with this energy,
00:21:22
Speaker
It's the other. It's the other person that's in power that sees me, that sees my greatness and pulls me up. They help me. I climb the ladder through other people recognizing my greatness. And so I was like, oh my God, shocked, so excited. I didn't tell anybody. I went to the class. I didn't tell anybody until they made it official because
00:21:45
Speaker
you know, the two-four profile, four is like being the networker, four is all about like relationships are so important to me. I didn't want to step on anybody's toes. I felt so bad. Like I was like eating myself up inside because I knew that I was surpassing some of my friends that have been wanting to do this for a long time and like trying to make it happen. And then here I am not even trying and I literally just get the freaking position.
00:22:12
Speaker
So you can just imagine like it's so uncomfortable. You finally announce it and it's like I can tell that some of them are happy for me and then I can also tell that some of them are upset and it's like I feel really bad. But you know, I embrace it. I'm super excited. So that was really freaking awesome. And that was another example of a time where like
00:22:30
Speaker
people in power just see something in me. They see my drive. They see my wanting to just do good to be the best at what I do. And they pull me up into the next position. And it's like, I'm not even trying to do that. And then moving on to the next example.
Career Growth and Gene Key 54
00:22:49
Speaker
working at the job that I'm at now. I've been with this company for almost eight years. So I work in the automotive industry. I started working in the service centers as just a technician. So we are a drive-through oil change company. So essentially the guest just stays inside the vehicle. We do their oil change in 15 minutes or less.
00:23:11
Speaker
We do very basic preventative maintenance, but our company is incredible. We're all about people first, building trust. We're all about learning and growth. I think that's why we're doing so good as a company and we continue to grow and expand. We have so many acquisitions is because we really are all about building trust in the automotive industry. So many people, especially women, feel very fucked over when it comes to the automotive industry because
00:23:39
Speaker
There's so many sleazy mechanics. There's so many sleazy salesmen. And we don't know. It's like if the average person doesn't know anything about cars. And so it's very easy to trick people. And so a huge part of our business model, and I think why our company does so good, is the number one is all about trust. Trust and people first. So we're very transparent. We do everything based on manufacturer
00:24:06
Speaker
recommendations, like mileage recommendations, never, never, never, because it's also illegal. So this is a little side note for you guys, for all my girlies, when you go to get your oil changed. It's illegal for them to ever recommend something like a service, like a transmission service or power steering service, based on the color of the fluid. So if somebody shows you you're like a dipstick or a drop of your transmission fluid, and it's like dark and like dirty looking, like brown, black, and they're like, Oh, like look,
00:24:33
Speaker
you really need to get your transmission serviced, don't listen to them because it's illegal.
00:24:41
Speaker
you can only go based off of mileage. And the reason why you guys is because color does not mean anything. If you were to go get, say if you hadn't got a transmission service done in a really long time, and so there was just a lot of like dirt and deposits in there, the color was very dark. So you do the service, right? It's
00:25:07
Speaker
Gonna flush it out and then you put the new fluid in. Transmission fluid typically is pink unless you have a CVT fluid, which is white. It's clear. But most people have just like the standard transmission fluid is pink.
00:25:24
Speaker
Just because you flush it out doesn't mean that there's not still going to be some sort of remnants of like dirt in the system. And so it's not always going to be perfectly pink again. So say if you went somewhere and had a transmission service, and then you went somewhere else two months later, and it's not perfectly pink, it's kind of dark again, and they try to recommend you your service based on that.
00:25:48
Speaker
That is very unethical because you don't need it. You really only need your transmission service every like 60,000 miles is like typical for most manufacturers. So anyways, that's a little, that's a little side note for you guys. If you ever feel uncomfortable getting your oil changed or if they ever try to pressure you into anything, make sure that you're going off of mileage based recommendations and not color, not time.
00:26:14
Speaker
None of that. Okay. So back to what I was saying. So I started out at this company as just a technician in training. So I learned how to do the oil changes, preventative maintenance on all the cars. It was super fun. I honestly didn't even know what I was getting into. I went to open interviews that I saw on Craigslist and I thought the job title was customer advisor. And so I thought I was going to be a receptionist working like in an office or like inside the lobby, you know, cashing people out. But I was actually
00:26:43
Speaker
very surprised when I learned that, oh, it's a drive-through service. I'm learning how to literally be a technician on the cars. So I learned how to do oil changes, tire rotations, power steering service, transmission services. I learned how to change out gearbox oil. I learned how to replace serpentine belts. I learned how to replace lights, wiper blades, all this stuff, batteries. Like, isn't that cool? When I think about it still, I'm like, damn, that's pretty freaking badass. But anyways, so,
00:27:14
Speaker
I did that. And I quickly ascended. I quickly went up to the next position, which was senior technician. Then I became assistant manager. And then I went to the Top Gun program. And then I was freaking
00:27:29
Speaker
offered you guys a position to run my own service center. And the way that this all played out was insane. Like I was not trying to do that. That was not my goal. So I was still going to college and working at this company. And 2018 came around and I was graduating college and that year.
00:27:48
Speaker
And like six months before graduation, I volunteered and was chosen to be an ambassador for our company. So they flew us out to from Bakersfield to San Francisco and like different Northern California cities. And we had like a huge acquisition where we bought many different stores and different like Jiffy Loops and stuff. And we were taking over their stores. And so we were there to train. We were there to train people. And so
00:28:20
Speaker
When I was on this trip, I remember my direct area manager was with me and he's like, oh, so what are you doing when you graduate? What's next? And I was like, I don't know. I'm really trying to figure it out. I think I'm going to try to stay longer to get my master's so I can do family and marriage counseling, but I'm just really confused. I have no idea. And he's like, oh, why don't you become a manager here and do the next step? And I was like,
00:28:44
Speaker
Oh my God, I could never be a manager. And he was like, why? You literally are already an assistant manager. You know how to do everything. You could run your own service center. And I was like, no way. There's no way. I did not see that for myself, you guys. There's no way in hell I saw that for myself. And I always had so much... The thing for me was that
00:29:07
Speaker
I was always comparing myself to people around me because a lot of the other people who are assistant managers were car people. They had been working on cars their whole lives. They felt very comfortable with cars. Again, I'm not a car person. I didn't know anything about cars until I had this position. So everything I knew was learned on the job. I couldn't even tell you where the oil dipstick was before I started this job, right?
00:29:28
Speaker
And this time I was with the company for, it was only two years. I started in 2016. So I had only been with the company for two years and I was like, there's no way I could be a manager.
00:29:41
Speaker
Then I started getting me clicking in my mind like, wait, could I? And I talked to my mom and my brother about it and they're like, Oh my God, Alyssa, like you could totally do it. They were like, what? Absolutely. And I was like, how do you guys see this for me? Like, I don't see it. And they were like, you literally know everything. Like you're an assistant manager, you're already doing it. Might as well like get paid more for it and have more responsibility. And I was like, whoa, this is crazy. So I ended up letting my area manager know that I wanted to get into our Top Gun program. And the Top Gun program is where you basically
00:30:11
Speaker
learn everything you need to know for having your own service center. So you learn all about the finances. You're literally running this multiple million dollar service center. You're in charge of hiring. You're in charge of your team. You're in charge of development and training. You're in charge of product and inventory and ordering the oils that you need and making sure that
00:30:34
Speaker
you have enough quantity on hand. You're in charge of everything. You are basically your own HR. It's like an island. You are it. You are running your own service center. I was like, wow, this is crazy. I went through that process. We're probably on week, maybe two out of six, maybe three out of six, halfway done, maybe not even halfway done. When I got a call one day and my area manager is like, hey, Lissa,
00:31:03
Speaker
I want you to check your email and then go outside and call me and like don't tell anyone. And so I checked my email and it was a fricking offer letter to have my own service center. And I was like, no fricking way. And at this time I was living in Bakersfield and we only had three locations. So there wasn't even a location. I was like, how is this possible? And it's because, and then I called my boss outside and he's like, Hey, like I wanted to give you the good news. Like before we go on Thanksgiving break, like we're acquiring two new locations in Bakersfield.
00:31:32
Speaker
And I want you to take over one of them." And I was like, Oh my God, but I'm not even done with Top Gun. And he's like, I know, but you're ready. You got this. Like it's you, you're the person. I just need you to sign that offer letter and then like, we'll all have more information for you next week.
00:31:48
Speaker
And I was like, Oh my God. And I wasn't allowed to tell anybody about it. So I didn't tell anybody about it. I was literally freaking out. And again, I felt that immense sadness because one of my very good coworkers who is also an assistant manager, we went to assistant manager training together.
00:32:06
Speaker
He had been a car person, you guys. He had been working on cars his whole life. He wanted to be a manager. That was his goal. He saw this for himself. He only wanted to do automotive. He wanted to be in this industry. Here I am. I don't give a shit about automotive industry. I love crystals and I love
00:32:29
Speaker
spiritual stuff. That's what I'm doing on my free time and I'm just here trying to make some money and survive and figure out what I'm going to do when I graduate with my future from college. I was like, how am I in this position? I had so much imposter syndrome because being a manager of a freaking service center, if something fails, if there's a service failure, if something breaks on the car,
00:32:51
Speaker
Like I have to be the one to resolve the problem. Like if there's a major claim, I have to resolve the problem. If I have major employee relational issues, I have to solve the problem. I have to terminate people. I have to
00:33:04
Speaker
hold this down. I have to be financially responsible for this freaking service center to make money. I have to make it profitable. I have to do it all rest on me." And I was like, there's no way. I'm, again, not a car person. I kept going back to that in my mind. I'm not a car person.
00:33:23
Speaker
And so I remember telling my, so that was my area manager, you guys that saw that in me that made the decision for it to be me. So when I was, when it came public, okay, it became public information. And that other assistant manager that I told you about that was my friend, he was on vacation. And so he was on vacation and I was already leaving before he even got back from vacation. So I didn't even get to talk to him about it. And so,
00:33:50
Speaker
My boss, who I had kind of a love-hate relationship with at the time, who was the manager of that location, he was like, wow, congratulations, Alyssa. I'm shocked. I'm honestly so shocked. I have no idea why they made that decision.
00:34:08
Speaker
I'm not going to say his name, but the other guy, blah, blah, blah. I thought they would have for sure chosen him. Like this is just crazy. And I was like, wow, thanks dude. Like I just remember I wanted to cry. I wanted to cry and hide and run away in that moment because I was already freaking scared enough. I was already like imposter syndrome-y enough. Like I was already feeling like they made the wrong choice. And then he's just confirming all the, my worst fears of like, wow,
00:34:35
Speaker
I can't believe they picked you. That's crazy. He has so much automotive knowledge. I don't get it. But then a part of me was also really angry and was like, fuck you. Fuck you. I'm going to be so good at this. I don't need your approval.
00:34:52
Speaker
And so that was not the best feeling going into this. So then my area manager came down like a couple of days later to sit me down and like in person, sign the offer letter, go like forward with like the onboarding paperwork. And I was like, Hey, you know, like, um,
00:35:07
Speaker
blah, blah, blah. I'm not going to say his name. My boss told me that he's really surprised that you guys chose me. And I was like, I don't know if you're making a mistake. I feel really worried. I'm really scared that I'm not going to do a good job for you guys. And he was like, Oh my God, Alyssa. He's like, don't listen to him. We literally made the right decision. We chose you for a reason. We see how dedicated you are. We see how dedicated to learning and growth you are.
00:35:31
Speaker
how fast you moved up this frickin' ladder, how much drive you have. You show up on time every single day. You are so positive. You're so coachable. Everyone loves you. You do so well with the team.
00:35:48
Speaker
Like, there's so many great things about you. And he's like, you aren't a mechanic. We're not hiring a mechanic. You don't need to know anything about cars to be a great manager. He's like, you're not even the one that's going to be working on the cars. You're going to build your team and build your bench so that they can take care of any issues that you have. And like, yeah, you're going to be putting out fires, but you literally have me
00:36:10
Speaker
We're all in this together. We're a team. You're going to get through this. You've already basically been doing this. He's so right because up to this point, I was already doing the inventory. I was already doing everything. I was already making the schedules. I was already doing everything that a manager would do and taking on that initiative and that extra responsibility, but it just wasn't in my name and it wasn't the full responsibility.
00:36:34
Speaker
So what's so funny, you guys, is that I still had to go to those Top Gun classes, even after I was already a manager. So I was already a manager, I already had my service center, and I was going to those classes to learn how to be a manager. Like, that is the epitome, I think, of 54, of Genki 54, of aspiration. It's like,
00:36:56
Speaker
drive going for it, wanting to be the best, having other people see in me and help me move up the ladder. It's like they're pulling me up. They're recognizing my gifts. And it's just crazy. It's just crazy how that works out. And when I learned this about myself, I was like, Oh my God, that's always what happens to me. Like
00:37:16
Speaker
I'm showing up, I'm doing the hard work, but I'm not even doing it with a goal. Yeah, I want to be the best, but it's just crazy how I wasn't even like, oh, I'm going to be a manager. I thought I was going to quit this job. I didn't even think this was a serious job for me, even though I was doing so great.
00:37:33
Speaker
And here I am still doing so good, but now in the back end doing recruiting, which is so easy for me and so much fun and so stress free that I get to build my business at nights and on the weekends. And I just have so much like appreciation for the company that I work for. And we continue to grow and evolve and like,
00:37:52
Speaker
That's what's keeping me there. I'm obsessed with growth and we are freaking growing. We keep acquiring more and more and more. We're a franchise, but we're the largest franchise of our company. I never like to say the name because I just like to keep it private.
00:38:11
Speaker
Yeah, we are evolving. It's insane. It's insane the growth that we have. And you know why? It's because of our core values of trust, of honesty, of transparency, of being the best, of excellence, of cleanliness, of just true service. We take care of our people. We take care of our customers.
00:38:31
Speaker
We want the best for them. And we are obsessed with excellence. We're obsessed with following procedures. We're very structured. We're very organized. It's just incredible, incredible company. And that's the only reason, honestly, that I stay with them. And then I feel so loyal because I have the same exact values as them, of course, values. I want to be the frickin' best. I love it. And so do they. And it's just so much fun. And I want to find the best people to hire for the perfect spot, people who want to grow, people who are down to be excellent.
00:39:01
Speaker
So yeah, that's really how it's shown up in work. And another great example, I'm going to show you two quick examples of how this has shown up in my life prior to me knowing anything about this kind of stuff, about GenQs or human design outside of work.
Reflection of Life's Work in Personal Life
00:39:17
Speaker
Life's work, again, is not just career. It's everything that we do at all times. Again, mine is that 54. It's that drive. It's that ascension. So I was going to my mom's church. This is before I had my spiritual awakening. I was probably like 19 to 22, maybe 19 to 22 years old, 23, 24.
00:39:42
Speaker
somewhere in that timeframe. I honestly like time escapes me, but I was going to my mom's church, Lutheran church with her and we had a new pastor and we went to, he was younger, really cool guy. And we, I remember me and my mom, my brother went to like get pizza with him one night and he had like got pizza and a beer, which is so funny. And he was like very like fresh, new, young. He wanted to make the church like really cool, very, um,
00:40:09
Speaker
like accepting, like it was one of the first Lutheran churches in Southern California bring like this new accepting energy. And for some reason, he saw something in me and wanted me as a young person to be a minister's assistant. And so I was like, okay, I didn't even know what that was, but I was like, okay, cool. And so I started as a minister's assistant, you know, I would sign up and volunteer for like a certain number of Sundays in a month.
00:40:37
Speaker
And I would lead the service with him. So I would be up there with him, leading prayers and assisting with communion. And it was a big responsibility. And it was like, there was a lot of parts that I was speaking in front of the congregation and just up there with him. And it was so awesome. And it's like, I didn't ask for that. I wasn't someone who, yeah, I had been to Bible study, I've been to confirmation in other churches, like my whole life I grew up in the church. But I was never like,
00:41:08
Speaker
I was never so into it where I was like, oh, I'm going to volunteer, or I could see myself volunteering. I never tried to be that. But just from going that day of having pizza with him and him getting to know me, he saw something in me that was like, oh, I really like your energy. I want to bring that to the congregation. He had me become a freaking assistant minister.
00:41:34
Speaker
which is really cool. That 54 in me, again, was being recognized by someone in power to move up, to ascend. To me, I love that responsibility. Again, I don't know if this is a Capricorn thing, but I love the responsibility and the power of being like, oh, wow, I'm up here with him. I'm very important. It's like an important figure. It felt so good to me and I was so proud of it. That was a really cool experience. Then another example,
00:42:03
Speaker
of me of this whole thing of someone in power seeking me out was when I was in college, I was in entrepreneurial class. I was in two classes with the same professor. It was business management and entrepreneurial business or something, or a small business class, something like that.
00:42:29
Speaker
But anyways, I got to know the professor and he was the advisor for the business school of business there. And he recognized me and asked me to be the president of the business club. And so I became the freaking president of the business club. And I think we were like the entrepreneurial club or something. I forget if it was like small business or entrepreneurial club.
00:42:54
Speaker
But anyways, I became the president and so I helped him with like different things. I helped reach out to like old alumni and just honestly, I don't even remember what I did like for him. But I just remember you guys that I was so excited that I was like, Oh my God.
00:43:10
Speaker
just to say that like just to say like I'm the freaking president of the small business club it felt so good and it's like I never wanted to do that I never sought out to do that but he just felt my energy and felt my commitment and liked my energy
00:43:26
Speaker
And he asked me to be that. And so that's really what I mean by this energy of the 54 is like, it is so aspirational, but it's also really, really, really always has that piece of the other person recognizing you, the other person in power pulling you up.
00:43:43
Speaker
And seeing something in you, even more than you see in yourself, they see your drive, they see your commitment. And they want you to be a part of whatever they're a part of. And so it's always with the help of that person. And it's always ascending. It's always trying to be the best. High responsibility. I frickin' live for that. So I remember I was always just so proud of that. And I totally forgot that I was even the president until I was actually looking through my resume the other day. And I was like, oh my god, the president of the small business club. I thought that was cool.
00:44:11
Speaker
And then one last example is I, okay, so this was really, really freaking cool for me because again, I think it's a 54, like we love responsibility.
Shadow Aspect of Gene Key 54
00:44:22
Speaker
We love like this prestige of like being the best of like being great of like having like a, I don't know, like a high caliber amount of responsibility just feels so good. So I remember I was in,
00:44:37
Speaker
I think like the last year, I think it was, no, I think it was like the second to last year, either the second to last year or last year of college. And I was looking for a, what's it called? Oh, an intern opportunity. I was looking for an internship opportunity. And so I had gone to these interviews
00:44:58
Speaker
And I was applying for, this was for the county of Bakersfield. So it was like for a county position. And I remember I applied to an internship for an HR portion, and then also for, I forget what the other one was, but for sure human resources and then something else. I forget which one. And it's so funny, you guys, because I didn't get either of those, but I actually got one that I didn't even freaking apply to, which was for the CAO's office.
00:45:47
Speaker
And so I was the, so I was interning for the, for Kern County's county administrative office. And so this is where this plays like a crucial role in overseeing like the general operation and function of the county government. This is some things that they oversee.
00:46:04
Speaker
compliance and accountability, budget and finance, economic and workforce development, human resources, information technology, parks and recreation, general services. Um, so they oversee everything you guys. And I was working for the fricking straight up, like highest people in that like government official office. And I was like, Oh my God, this is so cool. So again, that, that energy of like ascending of wanting to be the best, the highest, like,
00:46:31
Speaker
I was like, Oh my God, I thought it was like applying for a human resources internship, but instead I get to work for the freaking CAO's office. The things that I was doing, you guys was like next level. I was, I was researching the, um, different bills that were being proposed. And so the board of directors would have their meetings where they would like propose like different bills that they want to actually pass into legislation. And so my position was to like research these bills.
00:46:59
Speaker
and then write letters on behalf of the CAO's office to the board of directors on whether we support or don't support these bills. And so I was like, Oh my God, I was like using my writing skills and I was like also getting coached from like
00:47:16
Speaker
really cool ass people on how to like refine my writing skills and I was writing actual letters that were going to the board of directors and I'm like this is out of this world like this is so freaking cool and then I remember just like getting to go to like
00:47:32
Speaker
watch the sessions and it was just so cool and I felt like, wow, this is awesome. Again, I didn't purposely seek this out. I wasn't even applying for this, but they saw something in me. They saw that drive, that commitment, this whatever energy that I have that they were like, we want her to actually be here. I'm obsessed with it. It's such a cool energy.
00:47:53
Speaker
And yeah, it just feels so good. But okay, so also I do also want to share some downsides to it because of course we all have shadow aspects of us. And so there is a lot of shadow side to this frequency. And it's so interesting because when I was living very out of alignment in like teenage years, to young twenties, when I was really partying a lot, really using like alcohol and weed to
00:48:21
Speaker
Pretty much like suppress my emotions. It's like I had that shadow aspect of greed of like wanting more. I think that's what's always led to my binge drinking is like, I want more drinks. I want more. It's like never enough. It's like, Oh, I want to feel even more like
00:48:42
Speaker
intoxicated. Oh, I want to eat even more food, like leading to patterns of like overeating or like overspending. It's like, there's so many ways that this greed can show up, which can be a negative aspect as well. So there's, like I said, going to be the frequencies, those three frequency bands of the shadow, the gift and the frequency. So the ones that I'll explain before were really like the aspirational gift, like the gift of rising, the gift of, um,
00:49:11
Speaker
wanting to be the best of ascending. But that all came from the sprouts that I've had my whole life up until that point of the greed of feeling like I want more of, but it's almost like wanting more of like the wrong things or it's like not being in alignment. So it's like, I want more of the things that I think is good for me, but it's actually not. And it's like the greediness of needing it, of wanting it was leading me to heartbreak, was leading me to
00:49:40
Speaker
self-hatred, was leading me to lack of confidence, was leading me to not have strong boundaries, you know. So it's like when we awaken to the shadow frequency and we kind of start aligning ourselves to the place that we want to go on our purpose journey, that's where this gift can really shine and come out. So
00:50:03
Speaker
If you feel connected to the shadow frequency, that is totally normal. We're going to know those. We're going to recognize so strongly about ourselves. But as we get more into alignment and as we awaken from these patterns that we've been asleep to for our whole lives that we've been so conditioned to not look at, that's when we really get a step into the gift and the acidic frequencies.
Checking Personal Gene Keys
00:50:26
Speaker
I want to walk you through really quick how you can look at yours so you know exactly what I'm talking about and then I'm going to tell you about the special announcement I have. So if you go to jinkies.com, you can go to free profile, you just put in your birth information and then you can pull up your hologenetic profile. So jinkies.com, free profile,
00:50:47
Speaker
and then you can pull up yours, which is your birth information. So you do definitely need your birth date, birth time and place of birth. And make sure that you're very specific. Like if you don't know your exact birth time, definitely look up on your birth certificate because that's going to, could change things and really throw things off. So make sure you have the correct time, place and date of birth. And then once you pull up your hollow genetic profile, it's going to look a little confusing. So you can actually,
00:51:14
Speaker
Let me just pull it up with you so I can tell you exactly what I'm talking about. Okay. I pulled up mine. So when you're on the site, you put in your birth information, you put in your email and then it'll populate it on that actual page. Like you don't have to go to your email to get it. So you'll scroll down and you'll see your name. It'll say full profile and the overview.
00:51:40
Speaker
So what you're going to do is on the right hand side where it says advanced settings, you can toggle on and off things. So to make it very easy, I want you to toggle off. OK, actually, that's good. So right below the profile, which you're going to see those circles with the lines through them, you're going to see like a little bar where it says full profile, activation, Venus, Pearl, switch it from full
00:52:09
Speaker
profile to activation. So now you're only going to see the four green circles with the four green lines lit up. It's going to say life's work, evolution, radiance, and purpose. So I want you to look at that. That is going to be what we want to look at. And then if you go over to the right-hand side where it says advanced, toggle on city, gift, and shadow and spheres.
00:52:39
Speaker
and spheres. Okay, perfect. And pathway. So now, so now you should be able to see by each circle, you should be able to see a number in the circle. So that's the gene key, that's also going to be the same number as the gate in human design. And you should see three words next to each one. So the bottom word is going to be the shadow, the middle word is going to be the gift, the top word is going to be the acidic state.
00:53:06
Speaker
So for example, my life's work is 54. From the bottom, it has greed, middle aspiration, top ascension. And so that's what I was talking about right now, where I can look back at my life and really understand what the Genki 54 means and see how I've seen that in every part of my life. You know, in every part of like every job I've ever had, I've seen it in
00:53:30
Speaker
When I've been in alignment, when I've been out of alignment, I've seen it work against me. I can recognize the shadow in myself, the greed. I can recognize that in even parts in alignment. It's like I'm still going to come in and out of that greed frequency. And it's like when I can accept that and be OK with it and move into the aspiration, which is the loving frequency, I can really shift that frequency. So I want you to see what those three words are for you. Start playing around with them. See what that means.
00:53:57
Speaker
There's different ways that you can work with the gene keys, which leads us to my special announcement. So you guys, I am so freaking excited because I'm going to be doing my first workshop for this community all about how to look at our purpose through our gene keys. So whether you actually like went to get, look at your free profile or not, it doesn't matter. But essentially what we're going to do in that workshop is I'm going to tell you all about the gene keys, like
00:54:27
Speaker
where it came from, how it originated. And then we're going to actually go through in a really fun freaking interactive way. And I'm going to guide you through this pathway, through this genius sequence pathway, so that we can look at your life's work, so we can look at your evolution, your radiance, and your purpose.
00:54:45
Speaker
And I'm going to teach you how to understand these and how to look at these words so that you can go on yourself and further contemplate your own frequencies. That way, instead of trying to search for, what is my purpose? What job am I supposed to do? What's my perfect career title? Instead of being so stressed out and so focused on that and feeling like overwhelmed and maybe even stuck or just
00:55:13
Speaker
obsessing over it, I want you to start getting really familiar with your frequencies, your unique energy, and start to see where that's at right now in your life. And that's going to allow space to open up so that you can start to really know yourself on this deep level. It's going to just highlight what you already know about yourself, but even give you more awareness and give you an exact roadmap to move out of those shadow frequencies into the gifts and into the cities.
00:55:37
Speaker
So that's going to be coming in April. I'm super excited. I pretty much have all the details right now. It's only going to be $44, which is such a great price because again, this is like the gene keys in human design can be very complicated. It can be very hard to understand. There's not a lot of places out there that like guide you through that, how to actually use them and how to actually work with them. So in this masterclass, you're going to learn exactly how to go through this genius sequence path.
00:56:07
Speaker
And you're going to learn tools so that you can start actually contemplating these in your own free time. And then if you ever want to go deeper, I'll introduce you how you can actually go deeper to work with me one-on-one to go through all of your jinkies and human design so that you can just start really understanding yourself at such a soul level. And this just gives you so much clarity, so much freedom, so much grace to just be so connected to your own divine path and not feel like you need to compare yourself to anybody
00:56:37
Speaker
not feel confused anymore about your purpose, not feel like you're spinning your wheels trying to figure it out. You don't feel like you need to keep investing in new things and trying to find all the answers. It's like all of the answers are inside of you because it's literally you. It's literally your soul, your soul blueprint. I'm going to teach you how to read it and how to look at it and how
Gene Keys Workshop and Community Engagement
00:56:58
Speaker
to work with it. So I'm so freaking excited.
00:57:01
Speaker
So keep an eye on that. Again, that's going to be in April. I'm going to start sharing to my Instagram probably next week and just start dropping like little fun hints about it. And I'll let you know exactly how to sign up for it.
00:57:14
Speaker
And yeah, so until then, I also still have one-to-one a la carte readings. So if you want to get a jinkies reading and go through your purpose, love and relationships, or your pearl sequence, which is all about financial abundance and prosperity and how to be of service to others and make a lot of money doing it in a way that feels really aligned, let me know. I will put the link in the show notes. Same with human design. If you want to get a human design reading and then
00:57:41
Speaker
As I mentioned last week, my Akashic Records readings will be out and available at the end of this month and everything you can get through the show notes. So thank you so much for being here. I think that's it for the announcements. I hope you had such a beautiful time listening. I hope you have a beautiful week. And yeah, I hope that what you got out of this is that your purpose is not necessarily a career, even though yes, we do want to do something we love.
00:58:09
Speaker
In the meantime, we can tap into our own frequencies and see how this has already been showing up in our life and how to really move out of the shadow frequencies. So yay, I hope you have a beautiful week and I will see you next time.
00:58:23
Speaker
