Speaker: When you hear the term successful person, what image have you been programmed to think that means? Okay, especially by the internet. And what does success actually mean to you?
Speaker: That is what I want to talk about today. My name is Alyssa. If we haven't met before, i am gene case expert and teacher. i am obsessed with genius, learning how to trust yourself, and finding out what success means to you.
Speaker: Okay. And I'm so excited to have this be the first video that I am talking about because I want to talk about success. It's very easy to build a business, to build a brand um around this version of what we think success looks like and then get to some sort of success and realize, oh, I actually don't want this.
Speaker: I don't like this. And so, yeah I'm also going through a massive change in my business myself and just coming back to what I actually love to do. And I have realized that I have also been skewed from the coaching industry and just from, you know, what everyone else is doing, this idea and version of myself that I thought I had to be to be successful in business and, you know, to make my work valuable and I'm so happy because I just feel so freaking clear on what my zone of genius is, okay?
Speaker: How I'm here to serve and it doesn't have to be the other parts that give me the ick that I was kind of just like forcing myself to do because I was like, oh, this is like what will actually make something valuable or make someone want to buy my offer.
Speaker: So that's what I want to talk about in this video. The first place I want to start, and I have so many places I want to go with this, but the first place I want to start is like, why have we been programmed to believe that being an entrepreneur is better or higher than regular jobs? right? Like, I don't know if it's just my algorithm. Okay. Maybe it is. But all I see is people talking about how to leave your job and like work for yourself and make so much money online and have freedom and time freedom and how to work two hours a week, four hours a week. And it's just like, it feels fucking soulless to me. Okay. It feels soulless.
Speaker: If you don't love your job. Okay. If you hate your job, if you hate your job, I truly believe that you might just be working in the wrong position, the wrong company for the wrong mission, which we'll get into, because I don't believe everybody is meant to be an entrepreneur.
Speaker: And if you're meant to be an entrepreneur, you're not meant to do it how everyone else does it. And that's why a lot of people feel stuck right now. And I still work my corporate job. I'm in a very happy corporate job. um I just hit my 10 year anniversary, which I'll also talk about. And I'm here to like change this paradigm that it's either all or nothing. It's like, you know, you're either full time in your business or you're not like, you know, you don't really care about it. It's like take the leap and go all in or like, you know, it's never going to work. And that's not really, you know, like just like oh the rhetoric around like you don't give a fuck unless you take this leap.
Speaker: And it's like, no. Okay. So the first place I want to start is I've experienced this in the past is like, if you're in a job that you genuinely hate, right? It's three things that it could be.
Speaker: It could either be that you hate the people that you're working with, right? This just means like misaligned misaligned values or, um, and I don't want to say hate, hate is a strong word, but like misaligned values, or it's just like,
Speaker: you're You're working with people that don't have similar interests as you. And yeah. or okay, you are unaligned with the company's values and like mission of like where they're going or what they're what they're all about, right? The reason why I've been able to stay so long in my company and my nine to five is because my personal values match up 100% to the company's values, okay? Okay.
Speaker: We value personal growth and development. Number one, bitch. I love learning. Okay. I have learned so many modalities. I've taken so many certifications. I have my bachelor's degree in business management. i took 10 years to finish college because i just was like, I couldn't decide what I wanted to do.
Speaker: I was also parting a lot. That's another little like thing for another day. um But yeah, like you are just misaligned, right? Another value that we have is like growth. And like I'm every single year that I've been with this company, I've either like promoted to like the next level up or had some sort of raise, right? And so it's like, wow, personal growth and development obsessed. So you might just be working for a company who does not value the people and maybe you really value people.
Speaker: Another mismatch that it could be is that your genius, okay, like your inherent genius plus technical skills and experience don't align. Okay. I've also had this happen. I've also had this happen. And I found myself climbing this ladder at the company that I'm with right now. And on paper, it looked like amazing. It was like, oh my God, like, I guess I'll just give you the backstory. So when I was in college, okay, going to school for, to complete my degree for, i ended up graduating with business management. i
Speaker: needed a job, right? And so the first posting I saw on Craigslist was, I thought it was for like a receptionist at an, like a mechanic shop. That's what it seemed like to me from the vibes of the ad. And so I go to this hotel where they're hosting open interviews and there's hundreds of people, hundreds of people line out the door. i wait my turn, have my interview. It goes incredible. Right. I'm obsessed. Like, I feel like more like I won them over, but also they won me over with just like the benefits and, um, like the growth opportunities. Right. I was like, Oh my God, this is like a fucking career. And so I remember driving home. I called my mom and i was like, mom, I just got a call or I just got done off of this interview. Like I'm so obsessed. I hope I get it. Like they match this to like the 401k and like there's tuition reimbursement and all of these things. And while i was talking to her that the person interviewing me called me to let me know that I got the job and I was so excited. And so I go on my first day and it's at an actual, like we do drive through oil changes. So it's at like an actual like lube tech
Speaker: location and I thought it was going to be a receptionist maybe just like cashing people out inside no bitch I was I was hired to be an auto technician so I was actually learning how to do the oil changes actually change the oil do all the preventative maintenance and I'm someone that couldn't even locate the dipstick underneath the hood like I'm someone who Like was so type B so irresponsible as a young adult like I as a teenager ran out of gas on the side of the road like three times Like I was just so irresponsible never got my oil changed like my dad always had to like remind me And so i was completely lost. I was like, what the fuck? I have no idea what i'm doing But learned it, continued to grow quicker and quicker. And I became a certified auto tech and then I was like, oh, I want to be the next level up, senior technician.
Speaker: Boom, moved up to senior technician. Now I was doing more like floor management. Then I was like, I want to go for assistant manager. Boom, certified as assistant manager. And i was like, hey, I want to go to the Top Gun program so I can learn how to become a service center manager. So they put me in the program before I even finished the program.
Speaker: Boom, we had like a big acquisition and I got hired to be a service center manager. So now I was going to go and have everything of what it takes to run my own service center. So like the financials, like learning how to manage the P&Ls, labor, how to hire people, how to train and develop, inventory, um you know, like ordering, receiving all of the things and like literally being responsible for this whole ass fucking store. Right. And like at the time i was 28.
Speaker: And, um, I was such a baby, but it's, I mean, I don't know, like then i felt older than a lot of people, but I like on, on age wise, but I felt like unsure of myself, unready, all of the things, which again, this is going to tie into genius when I talk about the jinkies in a second. So I did that. And then um i like um I ran like two different locations. When I was living in Bakersfield, I was an ambassador. So anytime we had more acquisitions up north, like I would be on the um ambassador team and like go and like help them with acquisition, training, all of the things. And then I found myself during COVID. This was in 2020, obviously, when COVID happened. And I found um myself during COVID like very burnt out. And I realized that I was in the right company, but the wrong position. Okay. The wrong position on paper. It looked so good. I was on track to continue growing. I could have become an area manager and move up and blah, blah, blah, and had so much money. I was making the most money I've ever made between just like the normal pay and like bonuses and everything. But I was deeply unhappy and I started experiencing like health issues. So This was during the middle of COVID in Bakersfield, 100 plus degree weather in the middle of summer, wearing full PPE. And I just remember like I had the worst eczema breakouts on my hands. Like it was so bad. And i was getting like migraines every night from like heat exhaustion. And I had like reoccurring UTIs. And I would just go home crying to my mom and George, like I, my boyfriend, like I hate this. Like I fucking hate this. i I don't want to do this anymore. And again, it was the right company, but misaligned. There's so much in my design, in my human design and my gene keys that points to where I am now as a recruiter, which is my, um, like a support role, an individual contributor type of role instead of a leadership management role. I loved like my team members. I like training and developing and I liked helping them with like their real life. Like one of my team members, I remember, This was when I was also like, i had like my first spiritual awakening and I was like really into health and like personal growth and development when I first learned this, like in like 20, um, like 2017, I was kind of going through all of these things. And anyways, I remember, um, I would always, i had always told one of my coworkers like about like health, like, or my team members, I would tell them about like meditating and like health and like drinking juices and all of these things. And um the biggest compliment I ever got was one of my team members came and told me that she had quit smoking and I was the first person that she ever told. And I was like, oh my God, like you do listen to me. Not that I have anything against smoking or cigarettes, like bitch, I used to smoke all the time when I used to drink, but I just thought it was like so special. I was felt like I was genuinely making an impact on these, like these people's lives and like, so yeah, I just discovered that I like just liked certain parts of the jobs more than other, not the actual job itself. So long story short, me and George ended up going on this like trip to the Sequoia National Forest and like sat with the trees and just like, like saw, like talk to the trees and literally discover like, okay, i need to move back to San Diego. So moved back to San Diego, stayed with my mom, lived with my mom for a little bit it was supposed to be very temporary, turned into two years. um I took a, I transferred to a store down there and and was managing a store over there. And then I manifested like how I started my manifestation process into the correct role for myself in the right company. And this is why i have experience with this. And so I'm telling you guys, like sometimes you're just in the wrong role. So I, this is so fucking magical. I, again, was like fantasizing every day on my break of like my lunch break of like leaving and never coming back. So i was so miserable. I went home one night finally and I was like, you know what I'm deciding to like make a change. So I went online and I had this download of like, I need to be an office admin. I had no idea what the fucking office admin did. I've never worked in a corporate job, i've never worked in an office job, but I was just like office admin. So I went on YouTube, I went on Craigslist and Indeed, and I searched for every single office admin position in San Diego and realized like, oh, they're all like fucking entry level, like, or like $2 above minimum wage. Like going to have to take a huge pay cut, but I was like, fuck it. Like for some reason I need to be in fucking office admin. So I went and applied to all of these jobs at a huge pay cut and I was willing to take it because I knew I just needed to do this. I needed my time freedom back. I needed nights and weekends back. My schedule as a manager was crazy. Like I was working like 55 hour weeks and just like really crazy schedules and all weekends, of course. And I was like, I need time to focus on myself and like study and like learn the things that i actually love to do. So the next day I go into work and an email pops up from our VP of operations saying that an office admin position opened up for San Diego County. And I was like, you have to be fucking joking me. And so I told my co-manager at the time, like, oh my God, go watch the floor. Like I'm applying to this job. I don't give a fuck. So I applied, i sent my resume, I sent a message, email to him letting him know I'm like i'm applying.
Speaker: And then um whatever, go through the whole interview process, end up getting it. it in It's a 45 minute commute, 45 mile commute each way, pay cut.
Speaker: And yeah, but it's a steady schedule, Monday through Friday, 7.30 to four. And then I get my nights and weekends back. And I was like, please, for the love of God, I need this. Again, had no idea what an office admin even did, but got the job. And from there, i did a great job. I loved it. I loved being a support role. I loved working with our leadership, like upper leadership in the company. i loved like the tasks that I was doing. I loved being an individual contributor. And then the spot a year-ish or two years later for Recruiter opened up.
Speaker: Took that and now i'm a field recruiter and I fucking love it and i'm responsible for 37 locations I support Like oh my gosh at this point we have so many co-scms at this point probably like
Speaker: 4750 managers and yeah, it's, and I love it. And again, it was like, I just needed to find something for me that made sense to me. This job is so easy for me. It fits like my genius. Again, I love being an individual contributor and now I'm in my own space. I can do really good at my job and then have my weekends and nights to work on my business, which is going to lead me into the next part. So sometimes again, you guys, it's that you might just be in the wrong role for your genius. I'm actually going do another video where I do a chart interpretation and going to show you exactly like what's in my chart and how this kind of like supports this, this role more than being a manager or like you know, like of a leading a group of people. Um, but the next place I want to take this is for you. Okay. I want you to think about
Speaker: In your business, right? Whether you work a corporate job, a service industry job, a business, you're doing both. There's so much online telling us, again, that like you're not serious enough if you don't leave and quit your job. And in my mind, it's like, why would you expect your business, who's an infant, to pay your bills and pay your rent? That's only going to create so much stress and like...
Speaker: so Like when you're that stressed out because you need money to pay your bills, do you know how desperate that is when you need your offers to sell? Otherwise, like your basic needs won't be met. That just creates such an unhealthy dynamic of really dysregulated nervous system and it's going to block the fuck out of you. So stay in your job. Okay, I'm a Capricorn. I'm your Capricorn fairy godmother. i have a Capricorn stellium, Capricorn sun, Virgo rising Taurus moon.
Speaker: I feel like I should tell you that since we're like getting to know each other. Stay in your fucking job until you're like replacing the income with your business or until you can actually pay your bills and have your basic needs met with your business. Like it's just it's predatory in my opinion to tell people to take a leap. Just take leap. a leap. Like the universe got your back. You need to prove to it. Absolutely not.
Speaker: Be delusional. Fuck no. Okay. Let's be fucking smart. We're adults. Let's be smart. I also, oh, it pisses me off so bad when people are like, oh, you don't have money to join my coaching program. Like sell your car. Um, I actually went through someone's coaching program years ago and that was like one of her biggest things was like, oh, like i sold my car to work with my first mentor. And I had another mentor that was like, gave me the idea. And I actually followed through with this. I'm like, Oh, just like take out your 401k to pay this coaching container ended up being the shittiest container ever. i don't want to talk shit about the coaching industry. Cause there's also really great mentors out there, but you should not be acting out of scarcity and like essentially don't have to, um, be in this place where it's all or nothing.
Speaker: Okay, that's what I'm trying to get to when we talk about what does success look like to you. And for some of you babes, I also want to say that maybe taking the leap is the right thing to do. My boyfriend, he is a manifesting generator. um We graduated college at the same time. He graduated in kinesiology. He tried working in that field. He's worked many different jobs as well.
Speaker: And he actually did need to just take the fucking leap and like start his own business having absolutely no idea how he was going to do it. And he became successful. So i I like, it's so nuanced. Right. And I don't want to say like, don't take the leap, stay in corporate. No, but like, this is where we get to self-trust and discernment. Right. And figuring out what your genius is. Okay.
Speaker: So, um, what I really want to talk to next is like the way to figure out what success means to you without getting into like the jinkies and human design and like these systems that I'm obsessed with. Let's actually just talk about like, what does it mean? How do you actually want your day-to-day life to look like? And this is something that I do that I like help clients with, help myself with anyone who I'm talking to about genius and purpose is like, what do you actually want your day-to-day life to look like? And like, how do you want to fill up your time? Right? So many people are like, again, online saying like, work four hours ah a week.
Speaker: I never wanted to work four hours a week. Okay. I want to work a lot of hours a week. I love fucking working. I work my corporate job 40 hours a week. And then I put so much time and energy and hours into my business on the nights and weekends. And i have found a rhythm and a thing that works good for me. And like, that is what success feels like to me. Because if I was only in my corporate job, I would not be fulfilled spiritually, solely, intellectually, right?
Speaker: I wouldn't be fulfilled. If I was only in my business, I mean, I've never only um ah been in my business, so I don't know, but I honestly feel like I would struggle a lot with like time management and... um I just find myself being someone who deeply just loves to work. Okay. And I found a routine that works good for me. I have the stability of my corporate job. I'm creating financial mastery for myself and like success. And I feel so stable and taken care of and nourished. And that gives me And I also feel so, um even like the work that I do and the relationships that I have, like I genuinely feel so appreciated, right? Like I feel like I'm supporting, I get that like that little itch filled where it's like i need to feel like I'm supporting people and like...
Speaker: um There's all of this growth, right? Just all of these different things. So it's like, you have to find out what your values are and then combine that with your genius, combine that with your charts, like your human design, your gene keys, combine that with the skills you already have and your lived experience. And that's how you start to figure out like what success actually feels like to you. And it's going to be different from everyone. There is no blanket way that this looks. Okay.
Speaker: The other thing we get to is like, you have to just kind of fuck around and figure it out. Like, you have to make moves. You have to take action. We can't just stay up here thinking all of the time and like mentally masturbating into like nothing, right? And like not taking any action and not fucking figuring it out. The way that I figured out what I want, it beautifully unraveled step by step by step by taking the courageous step of putting myself into positions that I never thought I could ever do, right? I never saw myself as a fucking leader. are you kidding? Like, I never saw myself being able to manage a team or to have that type of responsibility. And because I did that and i and i worked every single level...
Speaker: And position in my company. Now I'm an incredible recruiter because we promote 99% within me having operations background and actually working and knowing it. I'm not just like this random person that's trying to like hire people and fill a spot. I genuinely...
Speaker: feel like this genius of this ambassador that I get to screen applicants and find people who this would genuinely be such a good fit for them and help them figure that out for themselves too, right? It's a win-win. We want to create a win-win relationship. Everything is an energetic exchange, right? You never just want the company to be like winning and taking advantage of people. You want the you want the people in whatever role you're in yourself to feel like, oh my God, this aligns with my values. I have growth opportunities I'm getting compensated well, all of the things. So the first thing I would think about is like, how do you want your day to day to look like? If you're in a business and there are parts of your business that you're like, I don't like this. And I'm not talking about, there's a big difference, okay, between getting out of our comfort zone, having courage, putting ourselves out there.
Speaker: doing uncomfortable things, doing things that are fucking annoying, and then being out of alignment. And that is where trusting yourself and fucking around and finding out will get you there every time. Like that is how you keep coming back to yourself every single time. And so um if there's a part of the business that you're like, oh my God, like I fucking hate this. I'll give you a perfect example of mine. Okay, i'm actually moving through this right now. So this is very vulnerable, but I...
Speaker: I personally, my genius, okay, is I am an interpreter of these systems, okay? Gene Kius is, I like to say, it's not really the sister, but I like to say the sister of Western astrology and human design. Really, it's the culmination of Western astrology, human design, the Chinese I Ching, quantum physics, epigenetics, and it gives us a map of our hero's journey, okay? It tells us very specifically the exact challenges that we're going have in this life,
Speaker: through finding ourselves, finding our life's work, finding our purpose, love and relationships. Okay. It tells us our, um, shadows that were imprinted at every seven year cycle. Okay. From zero to seven, seven to 14, 14 to 21. It tells us our genius and relationships and our purpose and relationships and how to open our hearts to love. And, and it tells us our exact map of how to find prosperity through being of service with our unique genius. Okay. Okay. I have spent years studying the systems, years translating these systems for other people interpreting. And so my genius really is the synthesis of everything. I don't want to be human design educator. I don't want to be a Gene Keys educator. I don't want to give you information, right? You can Google anything. My genius is looking at your chart in 30 fucking seconds, telling you why the fuck you feel that
Speaker: Like you're so far behind like you're trying all of these things and you're on this hamster wheel and nothing's working and like Your stuff isn't popping off and like you're not creating the sales and you feel stressed out. You feel burnt out You're not happy with this clients you're serving literally everything That is going on in your life in your relationships in your business and your money i can look at and see in 30 seconds Why what's going on and synthesize all of that to help you get back online. That's what I like to do. Okay, that's what I like to do and so where I got led astray is I fell into the belief of the coaching industry, of the you know personal growth and development space that I need to be a coach, that I need to be a mentor. And so
Speaker: i when I finally, i think it was in 2024, like popped off in my business is because I started doing readings and I started doing sick ass, really cool readings and I loved it and I was helping people. But then somehow how along the way I got implanted with this idea, oh, Alyssa, like you also need to create like a mentorship. Like you need to be a mentor. You can be mentors to these people. You need to actually translate interpret, give them these insane things, but then you also need to help them along the way heal and, you know, work out these shadows and tune into their genius and learn how to actually alchemize it. And so then I created like mentorship programs, everything that i was doing, I was adding on, adding on like proximity to me.
Speaker: Okay. And I realized in my career journey and everything that I don't thrive on access to me. I'm an individual contributor. I like being in my own space. I like being in my own cave at any fucking time of the day or night when I want to studying, nerding out, going deep, right? I love like my business really took off when I embraced my uniqueness and I made all of my readings recorded. Okay. I was like, I'm not, I'm no longer doing a live reading. And that was really hard for me to do because I believe that it wasn't valuable if I wasn't giving my time.
Speaker: found myself, um, Yeah, like trying to add proximity to everything, right? Like, here's a mentorship program um in my readings, like trying again to make them live, right? And just like trying to add on.
Speaker: things that I thought I needed to do to be successful and found myself actually hating it. And so I'm actually making a huge move again, where in my like membership, for example, I'm removing the live calls and just keeping it exactly what it was meant for, which is to be this beautiful individual place to come and have this library of techniques and Akashic meditations to like actually assist you in doing the work after the reading to help you integrate, to help you, you know, get out of this like psychosis that we all get in from like the coaching industry and like business, traditional business coaches telling us how to do this, do this, do this. This is the pathway. This is a pathway. This is the way to success. It's like, no, can we just clear our minds and get back into fucking creativity? And so this is my calling to you, my mission to you. Think about what parts of your life and your business no longer feel good. And you've known this for a while that it just doesn't feel good, but you're doing it because you feel like you need to do that to break through, to make the sale, to provide the value. Like, what are you doing that you're just like, oh, and it could be like you're offering way too many call times. It could be adding too much proximity to yourself. It could be thinking that you can't scale one to one. Maybe you love one to one work and you somewhere believe that you're not, you can't scale like that. And you absolutely can. And I'm just so excited to be back on my shit and just like be back into this place where i'm like girl, I just want to give you my mind. Okay. I want to give you my mind. I want to give you the things that I think are interesting, the way that I see the world, how I've like literally decoded my genius to live a life that feels really good and support you in doing the same way because success is going to look different for all of us.
Speaker: Like it truly is. And the more that we can just embrace that, I think that's when like the really big shifts happen. So if this is interesting, be sure to like and subscribe. I'm so happy to be here. i have so many juicy things coming and yeah, who would you be if you stop trying to be like everyone else and just were yourself?
Speaker: Who would that be? And go be them. Okay. Love you.
