Zach Sheets: Hello and welcome to another Every Nation Commentary. It's a commentary for August 2026. I'm your host Zach.

Zach Sheets: And yeah, this month we have the rare non-Jurassic franchise dinosaur movie in theaters, The End of Oak Street, which got us thinking about other non-Jurassic dinosaur movies, ah including 1993's Carnosaur, which we are watching for this but for this month's commentary. The movie that came out, like, I think a month or two before Jurassic Park came out in 1993. Yeah.
Chris Prime: And boy, does it feel like it.
Zach Sheets: Roger Cormor was basically rushing to get this thing out before Jurassic Park, just to kind of like ride the wave of ah dinosaur mania.
Chris Prime: And it's, it's a, it's an interesting maneuver just because nowadays you can just be within the same year and that you ride the momentum.
Chris Prime: But,
Zach Sheets: Well, i see, it it the the Asylum's like entire business model now. It's just like, oh, there's a big movie come out? We'll put our own movie out.
Chris Prime: Yeah, but they usually base that on the trailer or like a premise, where some movies back then, you pretty much had to make sure it went to theater. Then you had to gauge if the movie is worth like ripping off.
Chris Prime: you know like a Asylum, they just go, okay, what's the top blockbusters? like the the like what What like superhero movie can we knock off, basically?
Zach Sheets: Yeah, I think they basically guess which one they think is going to be the big one then and then they ripped off like two. It's like one of the two movies that are going to be big this year. We'll rip them off and make our own like version.
Chris Prime: Yeah, it's like, it's never all of them.
Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Chris Prime: It's definitely like, they put all their money in pre-production to get ready for like, one of two movies. So, I mean, this error, going back to Carnosaur error, I guess you just had to like, go to Barnes and Nobles to ask, like, hey, is this book selling? Is this...
Chris Prime: You know, like you had to do a lot of field work to find if what you're going to rip off in this time frame was also a decent book or franchise idea.
Zach Sheets: yeah car Well, Carnosaur the book came out in 1984. So well but well before Jurassic Park the book. And then um Roger Corman got the rights in 1991 and they kind of sat on them and then found out, oh, they're making Jurassic Park.
Zach Sheets: So i have I have a dinosaur movie that can make. Let's get something going. It's also like they have Laura Dern in their cast. We'll cast Diane Ladd. Her mom is in the cast.
Chris Prime: That have been a fun family dinner.
Zach Sheets: It's like, I'm also in a dinosaur movie, honey. What's the budget? um Less than a million.
Chris Prime: They're
Zach Sheets: What's your budget? Like, oh, like 30 million or 20 million. So like, it's an actual like huge movie.
Chris Prime: like, oh, what kind of effects do they have in yours? It's like puppets.
Zach Sheets: Hand puppets.
Chris Prime: lot hand puppets. like, oh, so do we. But then also like a whole tech suite to basically invent CGI.
Zach Sheets: hmm.

Zach Sheets: Are they trying to make like chicken, like like they're like making like genetically modified chickens so that they're bigger for more meats? It's like we made a crocodile chicken.
Zach Sheets: turkey a tricky chicken is basically just the same thing, basically.
Chris Prime: chicken. Just, it has more of a gamey taste. Maybe tougher meat?
Zach Sheets: Down the chute.
Chris Prime: So, are we like watching the garbage water movie?
Chris Prime: You know, I can't tell this is just like a good guy like meeting room or a bad guy meeting room.
Chris Prime: There's like too much nonsense on the wall where it's like.
Zach Sheets: it's like It's like the Doctor Strangelove war room.
Chris Prime: It is, yeah.
Chris Prime: Could these people have any more bigger chairs to sit in like It's like each chair is getting bigger than they're cutting to.
Zach Sheets: Well, the person's smaller.

Chris Prime: And I don't know, I feel like this is like a big tofu project where it's like we're genetically modifying the chicken to be terrible because we injected like five species into it.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. it's It's weird that it wasn't like dinosaur DNA that they were like mentioning. It's like crocodile vulture.
Chris Prime: I don't know if they're trying to to like reverse, you know, it where. You know.
Zach Sheets: because because Because they're like... Like dinosaurs like evolved into chickens, basically.
Chris Prime: Yeah, so they're, like, what if you put it back together as, like, a puzzle piece?

Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Chris Prime: So it's like all these tainted chickens that they breed.
Zach Sheets: Or so you're just like getting moved all around.
Chris Prime: and don't know why. How... don't... Egg chickens usually don't have like... like They're like a special like farm. You don't just like sell your chickens to another farm like that. cause it's Where's this farm chicken farm buying their chicken from? like They're raising chickens, aren't they?
Zach Sheets: Oh, it's all the same, like, evil e a corporation owns all of them, I guess. Uniscorp.
Chris Prime: Okay, so it's Uniscorp Farms Uniscorp Chicken Factory. Or it's like
Chris Prime: all their product? Why, you know, like why would you let your science experiment in the wild?
Chris Prime: I mean, we're saying this right now, but i really hope there's a scene where the person looks at the camera goes, we should have made the chicken too juicy or something. It's like
Zach Sheets: or Or something with like people like getting sick because it keeps saying like the infection rate is going up.
Chris Prime: So they thought they were curing humans by making them eat chicken that's genetically enhanced?
Zach Sheets: Did dinosaurs have night vision?
Chris Prime: Well, Reptile can see heat vision. I don't think it's night vision.
Chris Prime: That's more of a rat, right?

Chris Prime: Is this another Roger Corman movie?
Zach Sheets: It's a hero.
Chris Prime: Oh, thank God. Is another movie character going to come in and help us away get away from this guy?
Chris Prime: so He's our hero.

Chris Prime: He scared away the potential other characters. Because in any other movie, right, the the people that come to a construction site to snoop around or do something are but protect are like the heroes, not the guard who's drunk at his trailer with a gun.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, he'd be, like, eaten by carnosaur. Like, the carnosaur would, like, sneak up on him and, eat him in his trailer or something, or try to shoot it. He's like, what are you doing out here, you big chicken?
Chris Prime: Exactly.
Chris Prime: But no, the... The better, like, the the really unlucky and unburdened character, you know, like, is gonna be our hero.
Chris Prime: It's not like he made the chicken. a hook And it's also like his girlfriend didn't make it. He's just some dude.
Zach Sheets: Who's now operating heavy machinery while drunk?
Chris Prime: He's doing a couple different crimes altogether.
Chris Prime: I'm gonna shoot you, you arm armed unarmed people.
Chris Prime: Oh, I thought that's like, he shot that burglar. ah
Chris Prime: and Looks like death by chicken.
Zach Sheets: It's like the chickens ate him.
Zach Sheets: Maybe it was an eagle.

Chris Prime: why do they always have to keep telling us the address and like...
Zach Sheets: the infection rate and like the coordinates.
Chris Prime: Yeah, it's like all this detail like what?
Chris Prime: I guess in the book it makes sense where it's like you see more of a race against the timeline, but if the book is
Chris Prime: kind of simple and then they just probably, like, made sure to overcomplicate this because Jurassic Park didn't really show you time. What?
Chris Prime: Did you read the Jurassic Park book, Zach?
Zach Sheets: Oh, yeah.
Chris Prime: I mean, that got technical. There are, like, very, like, okay, here they are Here's, like, explaining how Linux works.
Zach Sheets: there's There's like 10 pages about Chaos Theory. like There's like a super in-depth like discussion of the Chaos Theory.
Chris Prime: Yep, yep. i just I just remember going, this is nowhere near the movie. Like, what what's happening? You know I mean? why um Why did I feel like i opened an encyclopedia?
Zach Sheets: but The book also has Gennaro, the lawyer, like like blowing up raptors with a rocket launcher. so
Chris Prime: I didn't make it that far. and and like Yeah, but what I heard is like he's ridden like a competent person and not like a coward.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, he's like he's like the hero. like he's on the ground like He's like the main hero.
Chris Prime: So I'm wondering in this book is the the drunk construction guy actually not a drunk ob construction guy? He's like a competent hero.
Zach Sheets: I don't think there is a drunk construction guy in the book. it's like a rap The book is like there's a reporter and there's like animal attacks going on and then he investigates and he finds out oh this British lord is like bringing dinosaurs back for his private zoo.
Chris Prime: Yeah, see that sounds like kind of better.
Zach Sheets: probably Probably is. I haven't read Carnosaur the book.
Chris Prime: I mean, it sounds really close to Jurassic World, like the Lost Kingdom, Fallen Kingdom one, yeah.
Zach Sheets: Fallen Kingdom. Mm-hmm.
Chris Prime: But you mean this could have been the Fallen Kingdom of the ninety s
Zach Sheets: Damn hippies.

Chris Prime: That sheriff sticker could be a little bit better like like put on

Zach Sheets: I'm still not sure how they made guess yeah like a dinosaur from a chicken or like where these dinosaurs came from.
Chris Prime: I guess it's like it's a commentary on how we've overbred chickens like that so they've naturally mutated but yeah I
Zach Sheets: It's like a genetically modified food.
Zach Sheets: like a de genetic modified food
Chris Prime: but this is not like intentional it sounds intentional just because they keep injecting random things into it ah grant like more of a theme with birds so it's not like oh no we injected a grape DNA in a chicken it's
Zach Sheets: yeah

Chris Prime: You know, this movie is so dialogue heavy. More than I thought for, like, a bad movie.
Chris Prime: But yeah, it... This company that you you... You just went to, like, a holding room and now, like, a boiler room. Like, come You're working for a bad guys.
Zach Sheets: yeah
Chris Prime: an episode of like... Tales from the Crypt.
Chris Prime: Or Outer Limits. You know, it's just like...
Zach Sheets: Mm-hmm.
Chris Prime: Sci-fi for no reason now. Like way more sci-fi than before.
Chris Prime: You know, this is really deep for like from what we've seen so far.

Zach Sheets: How has Doc not been fired from his night watchman job?

Chris Prime: Like this itself could be its own movie of like people that are during a protest, um like a monster comes by. But yeah, they would they'd probably run away. Like, oh, we need to destroy the earth now.
Zach Sheets: Well, it like, ah it's like 20 days later, they'll, like, break into, like, the the car corporation and try to free the chickens or something, and then they'll, like, spread, like, a virus or let the dinosaurs loose.
Chris Prime: Yeah.
Chris Prime: Well, but the boring premise would be if they just did like a lockdown, like they just sort of locked themselves to the door of that lab.
Chris Prime: Oh man. You know, it's the...
Chris Prime: The... The reference of a Vulture, they're saying that it's close to like a dinosaur thing. So...
Chris Prime: It's like, they gotta to repeat things like that too later. Where it's like, man. This monster is like as wet. As wet as a lizard or something. like You know, it's just like listening to the DNA from the beginning of the movie.
Chris Prime: Those people are like, I'm never coming back to this town.
Zach Sheets: yeah Just drive out like any new people.
Chris Prime: That is not a good effect.
Zach Sheets: And like you said, like the scale is like totally off again.
Chris Prime: Yep.
Zach Sheets: because like It's like a little tiny, but then the hand it was gigantic.
Chris Prime: Actually, not a bad effect.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, like I mean, the gore is good. It's just...
Chris Prime: What's the scale?
Zach Sheets: I don't

Chris Prime: Yeah. Like. Because it kept changing. We can't tell if it's actually a big dinosaur or like a size of a small dog or like a size of a car. I have no idea anymore.
Chris Prime: Did just make like an eagle sound?

Zach Sheets: we We need text to pop up to tell us what day it is.
Chris Prime: You know, it's weird for Doc to go on this, like, I need to investigate my own company.
Zach Sheets: yeah how do he how do you know like the dinosaur came from like yunis and like he'd like sneak in
Chris Prime: See, it's such a big leap that I'm like, how? I also would have believed that basically he was in on it, too. And it's just like, He was hired to like go fetch it secretly. That would have been a fun twist. Where think he's like the good guy, but he's just sort of like the drunk backup plan.
Chris Prime: Why does it seem like this is a post-apocalyptic movie now?
Chris Prime: Except that dinosaur she shot.
Zach Sheets: okay
Chris Prime: Which... Which, like, feels like that was a week ago now.
Zach Sheets: yeah
Zach Sheets: So it's like it's like an Outbreak movie and a dinosaur movie.
Chris Prime: That's weird.
Chris Prime: This movie does so much, but then none at all.
Zach Sheets: The dinosaurs like the super spreaders.
Chris Prime: sure if they were just... Trying to linger here and show like he's this guy's singing abilities.
Zach Sheets: see
Chris Prime: know, in some cultures that happens, it's like, oh, that's a curse sign.
Zach Sheets: Mm-hmm.
Chris Prime: You know, this music, does that go well with the scene?
Zach Sheets: well but wow bla but but bu but
Chris Prime: I love checking out my chicken and eating my chicken.
Zach Sheets: Yep. I i't taught them by eating their own kind. It's like, look it, I'm eating you.
Zach Sheets: Howard, no!
Chris Prime: He loved his chicken. Also, how does this lady have almost like perfect like death cam set up?
Zach Sheets: if The entire town wired?
Chris Prime: I would liked this happened earlier in the movie.
Zach Sheets: they found like They started to like find like weird little baby dinosaurs they started growing.
Chris Prime: Yeah.
Chris Prime: And it's slower progression where, you know, more of the food being messed with and and things going wrong before eventually the next batch produces the the dinosaur. You know, like the what we think is a proto-dinosaur.
Chris Prime: But I don't know. I feel like ah this movie's message about like playing with your food, trusting the government like.
Chris Prime: This this by modern standard, people are like, hey, you're getting sick from eating eggs. People are like, don't have what to do.
Zach Sheets: yeah
Chris Prime: Let me eat those eggs.
Chris Prime: So the people who like don't eat eggs and like the produce and.
Zach Sheets: I don't know how it's spreading. Is it just the chickens are infected or is it like the dinosaurs like putting stuff out?
Chris Prime: I think the eggs are. Yeah, the chicken eggs are infected.
Zach Sheets: I've never seen a thermometer like that.
Chris Prime: was an intense thermometer.
Zach Sheets: It's like an old card testing thing or something. car testing thing or something
Zach Sheets: Oh my god, is she converted to a dinosaur?
Chris Prime: Was she even pregnant earlier? I don't...
Zach Sheets: the The fever makes you pregnant?
Chris Prime: The fever? Yeah.
Zach Sheets: Like, instant pregnant?
Chris Prime: Even if you're a man...
Chris Prime: don't even get to see it.

Chris Prime: I know. This became a different movie altogether.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, now it's Outbreak. Outbreak.
Chris Prime: Which I think is still not out yet in this timeline, right?
Zach Sheets: Yeah, that was 95.
Zach Sheets: Ha ha ha ha!
Chris Prime: Oh, he said the thing.

Zach Sheets: well So this this is like a we're the cancer villain. Oh,
Chris Prime: I get that, but didn't that X-Men character that like likes to turn people into dinosaurs... It's like Sauron.
Zach Sheets: yeah.
Chris Prime: Like, they stole the same plot as Sauron?
Chris Prime: Or even, like, the lizard, where Spider-Man wanted to, you know...
Zach Sheets: Yeah, it's the same last lizard, yeah.
Zach Sheets: Oh, so it's only women.

Zach Sheets: And
Zach Sheets: and then they give birth to dinosaurs and they die and then men will die off. It's like, it's reversed, like, why the last man? Mm-hmm.
Chris Prime: It's X, the last woman.
Chris Prime: Okay.
Zach Sheets: Diane Land's entire dialogue is just like one movie-length monologue.
Chris Prime: Yeah, it's really hard break into comments for her, because it's like, what do we say? It's all like... These are like nine Bond villains.
Chris Prime: But you see, Mr. Duck...
Chris Prime: I've also made a male dinosaur fever, too.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: did you guys ever Do you guys like aliens? Did you like the scene where Ripley fought a a monster and ah equipment?
Zach Sheets: yeah
Chris Prime: Roger Corbin's going to bring it back to reality.
Zach Sheets: I think this is pretty much how the spinoff Raptor ended too.
Chris Prime: Construction equipment against it.
Zach Sheets: like, like, Yeah, because that was that was ah Eric Roberts. He like got into like a forklift or something and pushed like the T-Rex off a cliff. Off a ledge.
Chris Prime: I mean, it makes sense. it's unless you What's like the only reasonable equipment you can easily find in most places to fight a ah dinosaur?
Zach Sheets: Okay, so, yeah...
Chris Prime: like It's going to be like construction equipment or farming equipment. think farming equipment more so than construction equipment.
Chris Prime: Construction and equipment like drives around town. Farming equipment is just like in one area.
Chris Prime: How is this movie not sponsored by like Bobcat or or even Tonka?
Zach Sheets: but okay yeah
Zach Sheets: Mm-hmm.
Chris Prime: You the Dazer's got personality. it like, knows how to taunt.
Chris Prime: Okay. Another thing is, I think by now they figure out how scale works because I'm never, like, not questioning how big this thing is.
Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, so I guess i guess they they built like a life-size T-Rex, I guess. Like a 16-foot T-Rex.
Chris Prime: I mean, they they built a big enough size. It's definitely, like, not life-size.
Zach Sheets: No. As big as they could, like, do with the budget.
Chris Prime: Which isn't bad, you know? i For gore effects on a dinosaur, I'm seeing way more effects on it right now than Jurassic Park would ever the balls to do. Imagine in Jurassic Park movies, they fought it with a forklift.
Zach Sheets: yeah
Chris Prime: And then this happened.
Chris Prime: Like, I think in most Jurassic Park movies, dinosaurs don't really get shot anymore.
Chris Prime: But this?
Zach Sheets: Yeah, that really... like kind of is It's just like ah another dinosaur kills the dinosaur.
Chris Prime: Yeah.
Zach Sheets: They they they kill each other.
Chris Prime: But this? This guy drove a bobcat like into a dinosaur and ripped its guts open.
Chris Prime: And that's not even like a weapons-grade vehicle.
Zach Sheets: need a truckosaurus versus like ah a T-Rex.
Chris Prime: I'll see that movie. It's a little inhumane, but no one's really friends with dinosaurs these days.
Zach Sheets: It's like, oh man, thank god the Monster Truck rallies in town!
Chris Prime: Back to my trailer where this movie has only one of four sets.
Zach Sheets: Yep.
Zach Sheets: 92% infection rate.

Zach Sheets: Man, that was those a really of the Living Dead ending. It's like, oh, your hero's dead.

Zach Sheets: i i' i haven't seen the sequels. but I don't know if how they like continue the... ah
Chris Prime: if they stack up to...
Zach Sheets: like if it's like If it's like a post-apocalyptic like... ah Now we're living in the the new... like Infection era, yeah.
Chris Prime: Dinosaur World. but basically You know what this movie seems like it's a prelude to? The 1991 Mario movie.
Chris Prime: That's how Koopa leads and it becomes a dystopian future. and did not see this ending coming that way.
Zach Sheets: Yeah, because there's two more Carnosaur movies.
Chris Prime: Can you imagine that the balls that end on in this note in like a Jurassic Park movie? Technically, in the first book, it ends like that. It like ends of them being like trapped on like a government like thing, and then they can't disclose what happened on the island.
Chris Prime: Because like the US government doesn't want them to know that like dinosaurs like like how dangerous they really are.
Zach Sheets: Well, remember there was something where, like, a raptor gets, like, on onto a ah ship. it's ah It's like the big, like, teen clock in the novels. They have to stop the ship from, like, leaving, getting back to the mainland.
Chris Prime: happens in the book, too?
Zach Sheets: In the book, yeah.
Chris Prime: See, I've read, like, selective parts, and I'm like, huh. But, man, i now i'm just trying to see the difference in Carnosaur, where, like, you know, probably still has, like, a downer ending.
Chris Prime: But this is so, like, okay, we just need to film a downer. They probably did multiple endings and just said, okay, which one, like, makes sense. So that by the end, it's like a brainwash of what you just saw.
Chris Prime: Because it's like, you just are...
Zach Sheets: i It's like Dianeland won, basically.
Chris Prime: shot Yeah, it's like... You're in this dystopian future where basically nothing like is going to stop. But you the dinosaur like birthing woman won.
Zach Sheets: Yep.
Chris Prime: Read the Tor book.
Zach Sheets: It's like, yeah, the only the only like anti-serum is is destroyed now.
Chris Prime: I mean, I can see why this is like a good and bad movie at the same time. It's a lot of creative ideas. It's just told on such a tight budget that you so I just want to see like a remake of this now.
Chris Prime: I still want to know why it's called Carnasaur.
Zach Sheets: Mm-hmm.
Chris Prime: Because if they were trying to say at the end the like bobcat thing was going to be a big factor in the title where it's like mecha dinosaur and you're ooh.
Chris Prime: Wonder what that means. Carnosaurs, like, drive a car or eating things or... you know and even Even Dian Ladd never said, here are my carnosaurs.
Zach Sheets: Yeah. i mean, is is there even a dinosaur called a Carnosaur? There's like... ah Like Ceratosaurus stuff like that, but don't notice I don't think there's actually like a Carnosaur actual species...
Chris Prime: Exactly. So even more confusing. It's not like she birthed a new type of dinosaur that she's like coining and like copyright is doing. Even though this movie pointed out that a lot of this DNA mutation was like a copyrighted product.
Chris Prime: So it's like extreme capitalism made these dinosaurs.
Zach Sheets: Oh, there's Carnasoria, which is like the like a group of like carnivorous dinosaurs. So yeah I guess that's what they're going for.
Zach Sheets: Carnasaurs is like the species. Or like this like the... like the ah Was it keep Kingdom Phylum?
Chris Prime: A very specific error?
Zach Sheets: Yeah. In Jurassic Cretaceous.
Chris Prime: Okay.
Chris Prime: I guess. See, this is what happens when you just sort of don't really pursue a lot of dinosaur facts. It's so easy to lose it.
Zach Sheets: you You just picked the coolest sounding word. It's like, Carnasaur, that sounds cool.
Chris Prime: mean, it does, know, but I'm like, yeah, don't think this a real thing, but it's like sort of based on a real thing by the same but the saying, but the movie doesn't really lead into the fact of what kind of dinosaur they're breeding. They're just like, we we have eggs.
Chris Prime: Eggs are coming out of women now. Like, you know, hard-shelled eggs.
Zach Sheets: yeah You have to go to Wikipedia to like know that it's like ah the what the smaller ones like a Deionicus.
Chris Prime: Wow, so that actually is based on a real dinosaur structure?
Zach Sheets: Yeah, I think Deionicus is say is like what like like the Jurassic Park Raptors are actually like more like Deionicus because Deionicus is like a bigger, like you know, like
Chris Prime: Lizard-looking thing?
Zach Sheets: With like the claw foot. And then raptors were like tiny like little chicken-sized dinosaurs.
Chris Prime: Ah.
Chris Prime: One of the proposed designs of the raptors is that it actually is more like an ostrich and then it has like a mohawk basically. And a beak. Yeah, it's like not as cool looking, but it looks more alien-like.
Zach Sheets: yeah the the modern the but Yeah, the modern thing is basically raptors had like, ah were like a a big bird basically with like feathers and like but then like a teae with it add teeth and teeth and claws
Chris Prime: So, I mean, it'd be funny if this was actually what they were breeding, just like bird eggs. And then instead of dinosaurs, it was bird raptors.
Chris Prime: But it's an interesting movie. It wasn't bad enough to laugh at it and just be like, oh my god, what are we watching? But it is just like shocking. for like There are bits of logic. it's just they They are speed running through it.
Chris Prime: So all the impactful moments aren't really there. Just a lot of them getting their money's worth of Diane Ladd monologuing.
Zach Sheets: it It is crazy. They're just like, dinosaurs aren't enough. We're going to have like a outbreak. going have like an infection movie too.
Chris Prime: Yeah, we gotta have a virus that infects the the species, and then we need a containment protocol that kills people just like indiscriminately. And ah again, that could have been its own movie.
Chris Prime: The dinosaur part was an extra thing, especially when you add in ah some of the marketing hype. Before I seen this movie was the fact that you get to see like construction equipment go against a dinosaur.
Zach Sheets: Yeah.
Chris Prime: I'm more impressed that the effects, even though they're, you know, a little old dated, still look interesting because it's not just like a CGI monster fight. You know's like a blob. This is puppet, like decent puppetry. I can recognize like the effort and the budget to make that.
Chris Prime: I mean, can it use a little more blood?
Zach Sheets: Well, I
Chris Prime: Yeah. Can they not fight it all the way in like the shadows? Probably.
Chris Prime: Yeah, go on.
Zach Sheets: I was just like the ah the ah special effects guy is John Carl Buchler. He's like he's like done a like tons and tons of stuff. Like he did like um the Ghoulies. He did Troll.
Zach Sheets: He did ah like Friday 13th Part 7. remember actually 4. hmm.
Chris Prime: Yeah, ah honestly, the gory parts were really good.
Zach Sheets: they we actually four yeah
Chris Prime: so Hats off, because I thought this would be um like more cheesy in a in a way. Not just sort of, oh, this was the only thing stopping it is that I think low budget.
Chris Prime: And then Roger Corman just really stretching a dollar. But don't know.
Zach Sheets: and As always.
Chris Prime: As always. So it's like, okay, that's the only thing. If it wasn't a Roger Corman movie, it might be different. But I don't think no one at the time but Roger Corman could make a movie like this.
Zach Sheets: and They beat Jurassic Park to theaters, so they got that going too.
Chris Prime: But it feels like it. It feels like, all right, we don't have time to to like really post-edit. just We gotta make sure. Go, go, go. This third take, that's our that's our last take. We gotta to keep moving. We'll fix it in post.
Zach Sheets: And then I think they reused footage from this movie for like a bunch of the other like sequels.
Chris Prime: The movie opened with like stock footage of a slaughterhouse, so it's it's not on a good start of like the high...
Zach Sheets: Mm-hmm.
Chris Prime: you know um like caliber of like let's make let's film more and more it's like no we gotta we gotta account for every cell so they got their money's worth if the sequel movies have references to this and then you know you see like doc in the third movie you're like what i thought he died
Zach Sheets: I mean, he got shot and burned. don't think he's coming back.
Chris Prime: but like archive footage
