Zach Sheets: Hello and welcome to the Everything Actioncast podcast for the week of October 19th, 2026. I'm your host Zach.

Chris Prime: I'm your host, Chris.

Zach Sheets: And this week we're taking the stage with Vincent Price and talking about Feeder of Blood, the cult 70s. horror comedy classic, which features a killer actor. And we have a killer actor in theaters this weekend, Clayface.

Zach Sheets: So that's how that ties in this week And yeah, Theater of Blood is a I was... Maybe the ultimate Vincent Price movie? and so I think it's it's his favorite movie. like he's He he's said in interviews that that this is like his favorite movie he's ever done.

Chris Prime: Yeah, I think. This movie is a... so It's like... Us. uh, a summary of a lot of Vincent Price things that you've... people have come to, like, love.

Chris Prime: Where?

Zach Sheets: He's been... He's basically doing everything you like love for Vincent Price. He's doing Shakespearean monologues. he's doing He's murdering people in brutal ways. He's... doing wacky characters.

Chris Prime: Yeah, it's definitely like a summery movie. kind of like how

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: Nicholas Cage. Did that... movie where it's like you need to know something about nicholas cage to get it

Zach Sheets: Oh, the the unbearable way to master talent.

Chris Prime: Yeah, yeah.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: So this is sort of like his version. Where it's meta. Of a actor. Who is... Like... unappreciative of Fight by critics.

Chris Prime: But. can still perform. you know like he he has the acting chops and But it's just like... he's being pushed out. by forces he can't control until...

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: Basically. He solves it with a crazy Vincent Price -esque things. from his earlier roles.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Zach Sheets: yeah i don't I don't know if this would be like a good like introduction to a Vincent Price movie. If you've like seen a bunch and then you you love Vincent Price, this is like the like like the culmination of that.

Chris Prime: Yeah, it's... it's rough because I think if this is your first time you're seeing Vincent Price, you... quite You don't know like his mannerisms that well yet.

Chris Prime: let alone. Uh... The horror references aren't exact. Like, he's not going for classic. horror He's just. kind of play up on. He's playing on like Shakespearean tragedies.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, oh yeah, this is all, it's like... A Shakespearean slasher movie?

Chris Prime: yeah i didn't i didn't realize that either i thought this was theater of blood i thought he'd be Also, I went on this movie blind. Didn't see a trailer.

Zach Sheets: Yep.

Chris Prime: Didn't really read much on it. So when I thought theater of blood. I thought maybe it's about a guy who...

Zach Sheets: Like, owns a theater.

Chris Prime: owns a theater.

Zach Sheets: at Killing people? Yeah

Chris Prime: Yeah, or like... Something to do with. this theater that like something happened to him at or something. And it, the beginning of the movie kind of hints that where it's like, Oh,

Chris Prime: we've got this problem at this theater. I'm like, okay, going straight into the theater of blood. And then it's just not mentioned again.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Zach Sheets: Well, this movie definitely like like just like dumps you into like... the deep end because it's like You have you no idea what's going on, and then this guy gets a call. To go. kick out a bunch of like vagrants at the, or like squatters at this building.

Zach Sheets: But then... I was confused because it's like... he's a you find out he's a critic like he's a theater critic so why when and He acts like it's perfectly normal for him to get called by the police to go and kick squatters out of a building.

Chris Prime: Well, I think he... Co -owns the theater?

Zach Sheets: Is it a theater or is it just like a... Because it didn't seem like a theater. I think it was just like like a bit, like just sort of like weird, like... warehouse or something like a abandoned building.

Zach Sheets: Because you go to the theater later, there's like a burned out theater that's like Vincent Price's like headquarters.

Chris Prime: I thought that was part of the same structure.

Zach Sheets: i don't I don't think it is.

Chris Prime: So, yeah.

Zach Sheets: I think that's it.

Chris Prime: what No, no, he does mention that they're vagrants by the theater.

Zach Sheets: Okay.

Chris Prime: And that's why he has to go, because... He is. Like. part of that. So what they're showing you does make sense architecturally. But that is part of the theater.

Zach Sheets: Because the actual cause the actual like theater theater part. seems like they said it burn got it burned but it seems pretty nice like it's it's Like it looks like a nice old, like.

Chris Prime: Well...

Zach Sheets: It's like theater.

Chris Prime: They made it seem like this theater is remote or something, but it's not like a main street. How did...

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: how did anyone not notice all the stuff that's going on or just the increase of vagrants that are just Camping. in front of that place but

Zach Sheets: Mm -hmm.

Chris Prime: Anyway. Uh, the

Chris Prime: The inside of. thing was to get this film or like this critic into this building. Where, Yeah, he gets really hands -on. He's like... Oh. He's like a well -to -do.

Chris Prime: stuffy English gentleman who... Like... he's like breaking up like a union he's just like Get back to work.

Zach Sheets: It's like...

Chris Prime: Get back to the factory.

Zach Sheets: All right. Rush, y 'all, get out of here. You lousy drunks, get out of here.

Chris Prime: And it's like... He didn't even have like anything to protect himself or even have the police help him. They just sort of like, yeah, you go for it. like

Zach Sheets: yeah Yeah, he...

Chris Prime: Want to try policing?

Zach Sheets: He doesn't find the odd that the like police that like called him there are like just standing there doing nothing.

Zach Sheets: And then.

Chris Prime: Oh, we called you. Yeah, come check out this vagrant. Why don't you go in there and solve it yourself?

Zach Sheets: Oh yeah, that's a perfectly normal thing for a well -respected theater critic to do. Sure.

Chris Prime: like It's such a like bizarre reason. like This couldn't be... Like... a bunch of vagrants in front of his house.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Zach Sheets: i feel like I feel like all the critics that we meet That are like you know the targets of Vincent Price. are like either like super na naive and trusting or they're idiots.

Zach Sheets: because they're like They go into like these like bizarre situations and it's like... oh all right sure yeah that's This makes complete sense to me.

Chris Prime: You were in my house? Oh, cook cool. You know, it's like, you know, you're being stuck by a serial killer. It's like, I know, but I need to go for wine.

Zach Sheets: I need to get my hair done.

Chris Prime: I need to get my hair done. I need to... Have a police escort. Until, I'm alone. it's like

Zach Sheets: Mhm.

Chris Prime: Or my wife needs. to be watched on. like

Zach Sheets: Mhm.

Chris Prime: It's so weird. So... Yeah, this starts with just like... Like... middle of the story of Vincent Price revealing himself to this critic that he got like his hobo army to stab.

Zach Sheets: Yes. And the point yeah the other important thing is that it is the Ides of March. And this murder is based on Julius Caesar. Because we will find out that all the murders are themed around Shakespeare.

Chris Prime: I think a lot of literary people. I can figure out when Vincent Bryce is doing, like... Quoting Shakespeare. And he's quoting the Bard. Uh...

Zach Sheets: Oh, he does.

Chris Prime: Now, now way Zach, in in school, did you study Shakespeare? Did you take a like a theater class?

Zach Sheets: I mean, a little a little bit. Not like i not a ton.

Chris Prime: Okay, you took it from like an English class and not like...

Zach Sheets: In English class, yeah.

Chris Prime: a Okay. I took it from both an English class and a theater class when we had drama.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: And uh... Let me tell you. It's... You don't really get ladies with that. But. Yeah, it's it's one of those things where...

Chris Prime: In this time? of the movie, it's supposed to be like, 1970. Two. Or 1973. It's supposed to be like... when it movie was released.

Zach Sheets: I think so, yeah

Chris Prime: So like Star Wars came out. You know? like

Zach Sheets: Well, it's going to be a few years before Star Wars comes out.

Chris Prime: Oh, was it?

Zach Sheets: but

Chris Prime: I thought this was like a round.

Zach Sheets: It's 30. 73 is when this came out.

Chris Prime: So Star Wars is like 75?

Zach Sheets: 77, yeah.

Chris Prime: Oh wow. So I was just thinking like. I guess movies were popular, but not to like. blockbuster yet like jaws is barely coming out yet All right.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: So that's why everyone was like obsessed with like. broad like stage stars. and critics, because critics were... eviscerating stage player, like the the way the critics. It's supposed to...

Chris Prime: be like a commentary on how critics kind of just like bite into Like... Art. What up? contributing because their lives are shallow. That's like the big thing. and like It's such a...

Chris Prime: Niche. thing where now I think. It's like being kind of made fun of for like a movie by an IGN reviewer. You know, it's like. Yeah. It.

Zach Sheets: Well, the... The weird thing in this movie is that like... this it's like a cabal of critics and they have like it's like the critic Uh... Like the Critics Circle or something?

Chris Prime: Well, it's the one day they get their own award ceremony that they elves made

Zach Sheets: Yeah. But it's like they they have like like a a bizarre amount of power. Like like this like secret cabal is like, well, we all we just saw like. We're all the most powerful critics in London.

Zach Sheets: like we're We're the most powerful people in like London.

Chris Prime: Yeah, yeah, that's another thing. that's just like It's... weird to think that critics had that much power back then. And they probably did. But. like Thank God that doesn't happen. like I would say we're kind of critics at times, but...

Chris Prime: Nowhere our reviews would ever be like, this movie stinks. like The actor deserves to go homeless. like

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: This is what they made it seem like. The the critics. had such a, like... like destructive power that that's why Vincent Price was like, I guess I'll. become like a Shakespearean. The murderer.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, i'll become I'll become Jigsaw, but with Shakespeare themed. Because hes like he's he's kind of like, like he yeah you know he has like an apprentice as like apprentice, he has like secret like... Uh...

Chris Prime: Helpers.

Zach Sheets: helpers were like saying all these traps he's like s setting up traps like

Chris Prime: Also, how is he funding all this? Like, it is...

Zach Sheets: I don't know. Cause like, yeah, like. later on we find out like what he but like other things he's been setting up and like doing and it's just like yeah where is he getting the money for this. and

Chris Prime: Unless he was like really, really well. And then. Yeah, like this. turned off the pipeline for like the infinite money glitch that he had.

Zach Sheets: But yeah, but he he does have an army he has an army of homeless people. And then, so this this first guy, they they they stab him. like Julius Caesar style. They all pull out like various sharp implements and they stab him to death.

Zach Sheets: And then. Yeah, then like Vincent Price reveals, like Vincent Price pulls off a mustache and he still has a mustache under his mustache. It's like... You wouldn't recognize me with this mustache.

Chris Prime: But what about now?

Zach Sheets: It's like that meme where the guy pulls off sunglasses and he has sunglasses under it.

Chris Prime: Mm hmm.

Zach Sheets: and then he And then also, like, his, like, assistant who... Uh... I love, it's just like, it's so like. When you know like day rick Diana Rigg is in this movie, it's like so like thinly disguised. It's Diana Rigg in a crazy like outfit.

Zach Sheets: Like a a crazy wig.

Chris Prime: well the first time you see it you just think it's just like an actual like hippie. Bye.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Like, cause it's like. Well... off screen and It's like dark. So then by the time... you realize that it's the same person. It's, a you know, like, okay.

Chris Prime: a little more obvious, and you start looking at the face a little bit more, and you're like, oh wait, that's a woman.

Zach Sheets: It hurt. her look like it it reminds me of a character but i can't think about character but i guess i guess you're like it's all it's like kind of just like a generic like hippie guy

Chris Prime: Yeah, it's not like distinct the costume of someone with like a job. It's like almost like a. Party City or, like... halloween Spirit of Halloween. like Hit like...

Chris Prime: Beatnik. Attire.

Zach Sheets: huh

Chris Prime: He's not quite a hippie. But it's definitely a 70s -like. Anti -war protester or... Uh...

Chris Prime: I would say like. Almost like a Marilyn Manson follower.

Zach Sheets: Yep.

Chris Prime: but But the thing is, like... That's what I think of like an American. hippie is. I don't know what a... british beatnik was you know like that it It should be, like, post...

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: 60s like swinger error like Austin Power. kind of hippie. Like a flower power person.

Zach Sheets: Mm -hmm.

Chris Prime: But instead, it's like a Vietnam vet. like that's like the look

Zach Sheets: yeah Yeah.

Zach Sheets: But, yeah, so... so So they kill the first guy. And then the police are investigating, but they' they think it's just like a random... Like, oh, this guy just stumbled into, like... Just... This lad. abandoned building and got like killed by a bunch of hobos or something or someone stabbed to death And then.

Zach Sheets: The second, so the the second critic. is called to... if it's the price is like actual Like, his Haida, which is like this... this Abandoned Theater.

Zach Sheets: where where Where he's doing shows. for... Like his homeless army. and and that But then... and but He also has like a giant like sound machine that's like pumping out like like like laugh track and like cheering and like applause.

Chris Prime: Yeah, it's an audience machine.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: And his hobo army is just fueled on booze. like I don't know how he's affording... Is he just giving them alcohol like they're all alcoholics?

Zach Sheets: i Yeah, I think it's booze. and then But then there's also like a purple drink that I don't know what... if if that's booze or that's something else that they're like constantly drinking.

Chris Prime: when she'll wipe her fluid.

Zach Sheets: Maybe.

Zach Sheets: but But yeah, he's like doing like one of the like the monologues of Julius Caesar. Then. They invite this... this this critic this Another critic sniped the show up at... the theater to like write a story. About like, oh.

Zach Sheets: Uh... Like Edward Lionheart, you thought was dead. He's back.

Chris Prime: Oh, did they explain who Edward Lionheart was at that point?

Zach Sheets: i don't I don't... I think it it takes a while for someone to be like, oh, yeah, this like this guy that like we thought was dead. be now Like... it like But it can't be him. He's dead.

Chris Prime: Yeah, they keep saying that, and then... I think you see a cover Carver cutout of... of Edward. It's like a... another like performance sign.

Chris Prime: Uh... And. That's where, like... They don't even do like a flashback yet. It's like revealed. Almost like halfway through the movie, what happened?

Zach Sheets: Yeah. Well, I think there's a poster for I believe it's the Julius Caesar play. at the at the first crime scene.

Chris Prime: Okay.

Zach Sheets: like And then the the cops were like, oh, did you see that? you Have you seen him before? He's like, oh yeah, I think he was a little over top for me.

Zach Sheets: Yes.

Chris Prime: Okay, so that's what like...

Zach Sheets: But but they're not like they're not they they don't think it's like... lightheart yet they're just like oh that's that's weird like it's a little poster

Zach Sheets: And there's no they have no connection to like that. It's like... Shakespearean murders, yeah.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, but the second guy, they invite him, like... to the theater and then he's also a moron because they're like, Oh, yeah, yeah like, go... Lionheart, he's down under the stage. Go down there. It's like the dark, like, where no one can see you. Go down there. He's like, all right.

Chris Prime: And it's like. Okay, especially when they know what happened to him, like when we know later that what happened to Lionheart in front of him. he's like okay i'll go see this guy even though i i drove him mad you know it's like

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: It's been a while. Let me say something insulting to his face.

Zach Sheets: And then Vincent Price is in like, it's it's kind of funny. it's so It's almost like he's in like the armor. Like it's almost like it looks like the armor from like the Odyssey. Like Mr. Nolan's Odyssey.

Zach Sheets: For like, Uh, What's... The - Like the... is egg Is the egg about none, I think? it's like it's like this like like very like stylistic style like stylized armor like georgian war armor And then.

Zach Sheets: He's like, he's reading his like. all these like negative reviews that this guy's done. and And he's like, He's like, well, I... I gave you some good reviews sometimes. He's like, Oh yeah, right, once. Or it was like a...

Zach Sheets: It was like a thinly disguised, like, it was kind of like a backhanded compliment, like... He's a unique performer. like He's like... One of a kind.

Chris Prime: Which, uh... Oh man. Uh, actors love hearing that. they They can kind of read through bullshit.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Not all the time, but when they do.

Zach Sheets: And I think there's something, too, where this second guy, Hector Snipe, I think he was like... Or like Vincent Price thinks he was drunk. like and like because he was like a like a alcoholic or something like he fell asleep and it but the performance is like

Chris Prime: He fell asleep at his...

Zach Sheets: Get it, get it.

Chris Prime: Oh no, I think that was the other guy.

Chris Prime: Who's the wine guy?

Zach Sheets: the The first guy? Oh, okay. Yeah, that that would make sense because he was... yeah He's like like an insane, like, why drunk?

Chris Prime: A drunk.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Yeah, yeah. No, this guy I think he just didn't like because he... He gave too much of like a backstabbing compliments.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: If I remember correctly, like... He just stabbed him. Like, there's no flare. Just... Whoop!

Zach Sheets: well he so yeah so he he gets stabbed by spear which we got we i gotta mention like This movie is surprisingly like gory. like They do like go like pretty hard with like the some of the the blood sometimes.

Chris Prime: Sometimes. not Not a lot.

Zach Sheets: like it is it is like It is like a wacky kind of like horror comedy, like like dark comedy, but also but then it's like when like they're stabbing people and killing people, like it is like... Oh. Like, yeah, you just you see this like you see a bunch of blood come out.

Chris Prime: Yeah, like it brings you back to reality. Especially when it... It definitely, like... the The, like... actual violence. happening on screen is depicted.

Chris Prime: Pretty well.

Zach Sheets: hu

Chris Prime: That's like. So like. what we think like the saw element because it's like very Grounded. It's not. Not shot for laughs. But then they do break up the scenes with like.

Chris Prime: monkeying around and just like the police fumbling around each other, like...

Zach Sheets: yeah Yep.

Chris Prime: Hmm. I can see why this was like a hard movie to kind of. be because it's like it's early in the horror comedy dark comedy And then some scenes are shot to be just like visceral. But that's like. Some Vincent Price movies are like that. Even though the effects.

Chris Prime: Aren't. you know, zoomed in into the the wound of something like the gore but you get like a good amount of imagination

Zach Sheets: and It has a lot of like the like dry like British humor too in it.

Chris Prime: So much.

Zach Sheets: but But yeah, but the second so that guy is so he's basically it's it's replicating like the the the death of Hector from the Uh, Troilus and Chrysodith, like it's like a, like one of like, it's like like a Trojan war.

Zach Sheets: Set. play From Shakespeare. And then...

Chris Prime: Didn't read that one.

Zach Sheets: but And his but his body was dragged behind a horse. That's like... that look All the cricks are at the funeral for the first guy. And then this horse shows up with like the body of the second guy.

Zach Sheets: So that's...

Chris Prime: They didn't know the second guy died yet. They ran out then.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. They were just like, oh, he's late. like he's that showing why is he what He's supposed to be here. So now they kind of realize, oh. Two critics are dead, so now someone's targeting the critics.

Chris Prime: Yeah, that's when the police start taking us serious.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: And by serious, it's like we'll have three more guys to help.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Is it this point they enlist the like. the one of the head critics to just basically be like a freelance investigator with them.

Zach Sheets: Kite, basically. It's like it's Devlin. who yeah he's like the the head critic then it's like the like the the cop the main cop is like uh they're like They're basically partners.

Chris Prime: Like, why is the critic now like all these critics would have like side work during this?

Zach Sheets: Like, there's...

Zach Sheets: like Yeah, like Devlin's going to the crime scenes and like they're like investigating. and It's like. Is this part of their job? like should Should the cops be doing this? like Why is why is like this critic going to like a crime scene and and like investigating? and like Looking at the bodies and stuff.

Chris Prime: It would have been funny if there was a comment during this time where the cop goes, oh, thanks for helping due to the police shortage or something.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: That's why. the critic now has to become his own like investigator to the crime that's happening around him.

Zach Sheets: Or are they are they are are they writing other stories besides, like, are they writing other stories for the papers besides? Theater Reviews? Maybe.

Chris Prime: I mean, if he was an investigative journalist and it's like. You know, if you're an investigative journalist... it probably makes it easier to... Be a writer and other things, because you write already.

Chris Prime: i mean granted we write but we're not also doing like crime scene stuff so

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Maybe that's we're lacking. We're not being great. reviewers on movies if we don't.

Zach Sheets: Mm.

Chris Prime: Trailer murder case.

Zach Sheets: yeah

Zach Sheets: So then you got the so then the the the third Which... Maybe the most brutal the brutaltle one of the whole movie is... fit so So if it's a price.

Zach Sheets: has his like homeless army like carry a trunk with him inside of it it's it him and diana rigger in The trunk. And they bring it, they get it delivered to like this Craig's house.

Zach Sheets: horse sprouts. which all all all the like the correct names in this movie are fantastic like horse sprouts like I think it's like... Meredith Meridue. Salmon Saltery.

Zach Sheets: like Great like British names.

Chris Prime: Yeah. Like, they all sound like soaps.

Zach Sheets: Or like Harry Potter characters or something. but yeah but he They... they Get delivered in a trunk. And then... when When they're sleeping, they they... Pop out of the trunk.

Zach Sheets: And then. they are They're dressed as doctors, surgeons, and then they they, like... cut this guy's head off.

Chris Prime: yeah Yeah, I thought it was some elaborate surgery they're doing, and they all they do is just... Cut the guy.

Zach Sheets: Saw his head off, yep.

Chris Prime: And it takes them like. All night?

Zach Sheets: Yeah, i don't I don't know how long it takes, but yeah it seems like it takes a look quite a bit. and then I mean they're done by morning because they're out there by morning And the maid shows up and then she screams Because his head falls off

Zach Sheets: It's very it's very like like Godfather -esque. Instead of a horse head, it's like... The actual guy's head.

Chris Prime: Yeah. yeah

Zach Sheets: And then I think i think this is like at the point when like Devlin and like the main detective are like, oh. These are all shakespeare these are all like murders from Shakespeare.

Chris Prime: Yeah, that's when they put it together. that it's now like a bigger thing.

Chris Prime: Which again... Just it' bad policing. the The cops are just like, hmm.

Chris Prime: We don't know the pattern yet.

Zach Sheets: Mm -hmm.

Chris Prime: It's like, what?

Zach Sheets: Wait, but it's funny because there's like a There's like a... like a flyer. in i think it's an i don't know if it's devil's office like the critics like the they're like mean, like... office or something but like it's It's... all of it's because like the pattern is it's line hearts.

Zach Sheets: like the schedule of his of of his final like repertoire of plays that he did. And he's going in order of like each play.

Chris Prime: Mm hmm.

Zach Sheets: So there's like a flyer like on the wall of like rich Edward like. Uh... like plays it's just like a list of them all

Chris Prime: But I think that yeah that's like shown once, right? And then we never see it again.

Zach Sheets: I think so yeah.

Chris Prime: I would like the constant reminder or if. Every. crime every like scene there was like a scratch off of like... going down the line. Just something to keep like... the police on edge and then for us to keep track of what what what's the next theme because I was like.

Chris Prime: I realized the murder. I was like, oh. I wonder what's it going to be at this time. Because I didn't pay attention during the like the full list.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. And it's a bunch of deep cut Shakespeare plays. The cut in the guy's head off is from Cymbeline. Which, i don't like I mean, I'm i'm sure Shakespeare fans know that one. but like thats that like like That's not like a base -level like Shakespeare play, I don't think.

Chris Prime: like Like I said, I... did some shakespeare studies and it's like we just did the top You know it.

Zach Sheets: a

Chris Prime: The ones you everyone expects.

Zach Sheets: Well, then the the next one is like, you know, like one for everyone probably knows, like the Virgin of Venice, although. like As they point out in the movie, that doesn't have a murderer in it. But then... uh Lionheart rewrites the play so that...

Zach Sheets: the the The next...

Chris Prime: the Surprise murder.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, the next next critic they invite... Is. gives it was like a pound of flesh to the merchant the merchant of Venice so then they actually cut out like like they cut out a pound of flesh

Chris Prime: Which I think at this point now you see... Diana Riggs like out of makeup. right like she's she's now like part of the scheme.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, this this is like when they fully confirm like, oh yeah, she's she's helping Lionheart.

Chris Prime: Wait, do you see her before that?

Zach Sheets: i think I think you see her, because she's that she's at, like, Leonard's grave.

Chris Prime: Okay, yeah.

Zach Sheets: It's Tombstone, which you where you see like his full name, which is Edward Kendall Sheridan Lionheart.

Zach Sheets: And then they're like, oh, like I think Devlin or someone is like. you know, saying. Uh... Talk about his her father, and he's like, well, he's dead, so he is he has nothing to do with this.

Zach Sheets: and then And then we've seen like the... like the quote unquote mysterious helper that's been helping Lightheart. And then... this is like yeah but we confirm like oh yeah okay yeah diane rigg is like yeah it's helping her father Like do all these murders.

Zach Sheets: because Because she lures the next guy because he's like a... you know like a a pervy like old man who wants to like Sleep with like young actresses.

Chris Prime: Yeah, that's not even like what gets him, really. It's just like that's what he's been doing for years. And then. Uh... He gets invited to come. Like...

Chris Prime: read a hard. And he's like, okay, I guess I haven't worked in a while. I guess I'll... do this

Zach Sheets: Yeah, he he doesn't... like Again, he like he doesn't find it odd that they're like having him... It's like, oh, it's a new experimental interactive play. like yeah audience So much for the audience to just come up and like...

Chris Prime: We're going to get.

Zach Sheets: Be it part of the play.

Chris Prime: Yeah, that's that's where I'm like... this is like you have to be so like on StreetSmartt.

Chris Prime: And. I think it's like, because now it's like you're. This would be the third. it's going to the four he just doesn't put it together that he's in danger

Zach Sheets: Yeah, should they should be like on edge. like Do not go anywhere. like I don't know if the police are at this point like, don't go anywhere with anyone. Just, like, stay with your police escort.

Chris Prime: Oh not yet, not yet. The police take a while for them to kind of...

Zach Sheets: Oh!

Chris Prime: It's really a warning.

Zach Sheets: i think I think there were... They were going to. This guy, they were they were... on their way to pick him up to for his police protection, but then Dana regular gets him out of there before the police show up. So that's why he missed this place protection.

Chris Prime: Okay.

Zach Sheets: and yeah so so they uh yeah they cut out his heart and then i do look a little but like there's like a little move where they put it on the scale and it's like a little bit too heavy that the vi surprised is like Oh, it's a little bit over. It's a little piece of it off. It's like, there you go. Perfectly one pound.

Zach Sheets: And then they they send it over to Devlin in a like a gift box.

Zach Sheets: and then I like there's like that one has like a really like dry like British line of like and only Lionheart would have the temerity to rewrite Shakespeare

Chris Prime: Yeah, this is where... Like. They keep it. more UK funny to like add some levity to the horror. And.

Chris Prime: I think. Now I was like. Someone that has watched a lot of British shows and movies. you realize, like... They don't know how to do.

Chris Prime: The, like... their deadpan humor is like. very like instilled in them. that even in like this horror thing they're just like

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: I need to be witty. Like, all right, not everyone's Oscar Wilde here.

Zach Sheets: Yep. Everyone needs like a like a... clever remark about to like end the scene and like end the the conversation

Chris Prime: Yeah, yeah.

Chris Prime: So that's where... it's either you love it or you didn't like you're just annoyed by it but I'm okay, because... I've seen enough of these, but... Yeah. just that That's just like the beginning.

Chris Prime: like Get ready. It's more and more. It ramps up.

Zach Sheets: so So then we get the next next guy, which... Like. It seems like we're like rushing through this, but... like the This movie that just, like, moves. This movie that like just goes from, like, murder to murder to murder. Like, like it's like just, like, nonstop.

Zach Sheets: but yeah the uh It's the the fifth guy. Who, I think we mentioned before, he's like the like like this drunk. like lush guy he and he's he's invited to like a wine tasting which the police are fine. They're like,

Zach Sheets: He's like, I need to go to this wine tasting. They're like, all right, we'll wait outside.

Zach Sheets: And then he also, he doesn't notice that all the other people at the wine tasting are like Lionheart's. homeless army.

Chris Prime: Well, they probably just...

Zach Sheets: but there's

Chris Prime: put on like they're not drunk yet but like that place would have smelled

Zach Sheets: You see it?

Zach Sheets: Yeah. I mean, they're they're wearing suits, but still.

Zach Sheets: And so they're drinking wine, and then they're like, Well, come down to the basement for the special wine.

Chris Prime: I mean, it does look fun. It's like in the cavern. That is...

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm. Like the wine cellar, yeah.

Chris Prime: Yeah, but that wine salad looks huge for like that tiny tasting room.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Zach Sheets: And then obviously Lionheart is in like full costume. He's doing... Like, he's doing... Lines from Richard III.

Chris Prime: He's also dressing it up again.

Zach Sheets: Yes.

Chris Prime: that the critic doesn't even get to notice he's just like oh that's wacky anyway

Zach Sheets: We...

Zach Sheets: he's like well i think he's like i thought this was a wine tasting not a play

Zach Sheets: And then, yeah, this is the guy that, like, Lionheart accuses of... Uh, being drunk and sleeping during for a performance and like not appreciating like the greatness of his performances. And then they... dunk him in a giant bottle of wine and seal him up in the wine.

Chris Prime: Well, they drown him in it.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. Doug had first like a wine, like seal him up in the barrel. So he's drowned in a bottle, like a giant barrel of wine. Which is how the Duke of Clarence died in Richard III.

Zach Sheets: And I think they find it like like off screen. They find them like it's like we found him found him like drawn in a barrel of wine.

Chris Prime: yeah They don't say where. They're just like, oh, that's what happened. So I guess they took that Y and just rolled them out the door. In front of the cop?

Zach Sheets: Yeah, left it somewhere. or i guess i guess i guess I guess the cop would eventually have to come in and be like, sir, are you in here? like What happened? We gotta go.

Chris Prime: while i got the cop it asks him like how long this is tasting gonna be in the guy she's like it'll take as long as it needs Bye.

Zach Sheets: Until I'm good and toasted.

Chris Prime: Again, just the arrogance on these. Critics.

Zach Sheets: It's like, yeah, we're we're theater critics. No one can touch us.

Chris Prime: I think it's, again, playing on the... the The sympathies that Vincent Price was like. He got. Like... can't believe he has to deal with these people so that's why he's like i'll murder them

Zach Sheets: the yeah It's like these these morons control The lives of Like I think he mentions actors, directors, everyone who works on a play. like like This one idiot could like write a bad review and destroy like all their lives.

Zach Sheets: Because, like, the the plane gets shut down, they got out of work, then it's like... They're done.

Zach Sheets: So... So after the wine drawing, then we get... Devlin goes to... His fencing club? which I don't know if that's how fencing clubs look in the you London.

Zach Sheets: It looks like a high school gymnasium.

Chris Prime: Well, apparently I looked this up That. building is called like the u .s something school like or like the American school so it's designed like an American

Zach Sheets: Okay.

Chris Prime: building I think it's because it's for like. international. students and in like workshops and other things and like a government building so it's It's like.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, because...

Chris Prime: Mix use.

Zach Sheets: yeah it's it's i mean because it's a very like american gym like it's got like the The. bleachers that go out and like the basketball hoops and

Chris Prime: Yeah, I don't think British people play basketball. Like it's... Like, especially in this 1973.

Zach Sheets: yeah But it it doesn't seem like... It's not like a fancy like fencing club. like he's like like It seems like he'd be going to like you know like that... like The Dino Day, like, fancy club or something.

Chris Prime: Some old like.

Zach Sheets: but

Chris Prime: stuffy institution. But, yeah, this is just this looks like...

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: a YMCA just started fencing. Like it had a fencing program.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm. Yeah.

Chris Prime: Not so much this, like... long -standing institution. Bad. Has. famous, like... critics come and And. training.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. Train next to like all the gymnastics equipment.

Zach Sheets: But yeah, but yeah, so, but... Vincent Price is there. And he is. Like. Yeah. challenges the devil into like a like I... What's... sort of like like a friendly like match because there's only two there, but then it's like...

Zach Sheets: Oh, you don't have a knob on your swords. Like, oh, then like, like, it's like, oh I'll take your knob off. Now we're, now we're even.

Chris Prime: Now we're having a knob off.

Zach Sheets: And then... they proceed to have a... It's seen. swordfighting duel that becomes like jim kada where they're like they're like jumping off trampolines and Jumping on like pommel horses and belt beams and...

Zach Sheets: you know i would I would love it if Vincent Price was actually doing all that, but it's it's clearly a stuntman.

Chris Prime: oh yeah

Zach Sheets: for Right for both of them.

Zach Sheets: but it's so it's so ridiculous like them like jumping on trampolines like like jumping off like a like the bleachers on trampolines and like the balance board and like i think this person like swinging on like a rope or something at one point and like flying at him

Chris Prime: Yeah, they have like a...

Chris Prime: Like a swashbuckler.

Zach Sheets: Yes.

Chris Prime: Fight. That is almost like an Aaron Flynn. thing But it's because they're what they're wearing their fencing attire. It's toned down. Awesome.

Zach Sheets: And it...

Chris Prime: Oh, wait, wait, wait.

Zach Sheets: It's a...

Chris Prime: Forget that. You notice the soundtrack never gets like... The soundtrack is weird. That's like songs and music. beats you think would play. Like they use the most like.

Chris Prime: Like... Hillard Music.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: So. I'm gonna go back a scene. there's this You know the scene where they're doing the surgery?

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: It's jazzy. Like it's a jazzy, like surgical song that I'm like.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. mm -hmm

Chris Prime: Why is this happening? And then you feel like, oh, they're just cutting a head off. Like, you know, like for what it was, I thought they were like. attaching a third arm or something to this like sleeping critic So...

Chris Prime: When i we come to this swashbuckling scene, I'm like, okay, like what are they going to play? And it's just like... nothing it's just generic like violin music i'm like Oh.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, it should have been like big like adventure kind of sounding music or something.

Chris Prime: Yeah, that that's why I'm like... They didn't quite. figure that out of like the tone like it's sounds like a post -production they're like i guess we'll just put the score in

Chris Prime: And, This movie is not made with like amateurs, like people who. Like. behind the scenes of the camera. they They came from like other movies during this time. People either shot music videos or they worked on...

Chris Prime: very Like... iconic 70s movies.

Zach Sheets: hu

Chris Prime: The cinematographer is like... He was like... Very popular. He worked on a few things before with this. So. He gets, like, the setup. The framing.

Chris Prime: Uh... I mean, that's why it makes this fight seem very... more athletic than those two actors could buster because

Zach Sheets: Hmm.

Chris Prime: The last time. Ian Hedry. who was but who played Devlin, he probably was in a fight scene was years ago.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: And Vincent Price, I don't i don't even know.

Zach Sheets: but Well, he was. What? 62 in this movie.

Chris Prime: But he looks it.

Chris Prime: This isn't like, wow, that's a young -looking Vincent Price.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Zach Sheets: And this this whole story fight is but it supposed to be, it's it's like. the this the duel from Romeo and Juliet. And then but then. Lionheart, let's... Devlin Liv. like he wins he like cuts his chest open quite a bit but then he's just like

Zach Sheets: I'll let you live to see the rest of my my plan.

Chris Prime: Yeah, but his plan is to murder everyone else. and Even Devlin, he like... He heals within a day. He's, like, fine.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, he's good, yeah.

Chris Prime: He's like, oh, I went to the hospital. They put a bandaid on it. And he's like, oh. And when he tells the cops, like, hey, it was... lionheart they're like yeah we know

Zach Sheets: Yum.

Chris Prime: but I think they insult him for like. There's a line where... It's like oh we figure that out without like fighting him or like... kidding injured.

Chris Prime: You dumb dumb. like These cops are just like such asses.

Zach Sheets: And i think I think this is when finally when Devlin Lussler feels like what happened, too.

Chris Prime: Yeah. They finally go into why he's mad.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, so there there was a, I think it was a year before this, there was the... They're... Uh, like.

Chris Prime: I know.

Zach Sheets: Critic Guild.

Chris Prime: Two years. Two years before this.

Zach Sheets: Two years. Okay, yeah. it was like They had their Critics Guild Awards And Lionheart was. like absolutely certain he was going to win like Best Actor. And then.

Zach Sheets: But then they gave it to like this new up -and -coming guy. Which like... Joe, Joe Lightheart insane. And then he, so he shows up like they're having like a champagne party afterwards. Like, well, we did a good job, vote everybody.

Zach Sheets: And Lightheart bursts in and like grabs the award and like he's ranting at them. About like, you don't understand his genius. And then... Diana Riggs shows up, and like he's like,

Zach Sheets: Father, come on. get out like don' Like... leave. like like just They're not worth it. And then. Uh... Which, i don't I don't know if this is, like, I don't think this is part of his plan, but like, so like... light heart like goes on the balcony. He's doing the to be or not to be monologue.

Zach Sheets: And then jumps off the balcony.

Chris Prime: I don't think it was his plan. I think he literally.

Zach Sheets: No, I think he really wanted to kill himself. yeah

Zach Sheets: Because Danny Rigg is also horrified by it So then

Chris Prime: Yeah.

Zach Sheets: And then he ends up, he gets washed down whatever river that is. And he ends up in like. Like... this filthy other part of london or wherever they are and he's discovered by like the homeless people

Chris Prime: I didn't make all that.

Zach Sheets: Which...

Chris Prime: East London.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. It looks like it's straight up like Dickens.

Chris Prime: Oh yeah.

Zach Sheets: Victoria or something. It's like,

Chris Prime: he He ends up in like. Whatever, like... encampment a post -apocalyptic movie takes place in where it's like Where the water is like undrinkable. That's where he just ends up in.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. he's face He's face down in this filthy water. And then the homeless people find him. and like drag like kind of roughly drag him out with those odds with like but into the mud.

Chris Prime: Well, they want them you want to like pillage the body.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. Oh, before the budget.

Chris Prime: they did

Zach Sheets: I just want to mention his outfit at the awards ceremony. He's basically dressed like Dracula.

Chris Prime: Yeah.

Zach Sheets: He's got a big giant cape. He's got a tuxedo shirt kind of thing. it's like He's basically Dracula.

Chris Prime: well i see is that why he was so cocky because he put on that attire because when he wins he just like flaunts his cape and like runs on stage

Zach Sheets: Yup. Mm -hmm You get twirled around.

Chris Prime: And because he lost, he's like... Look at me. I look like an idiot.

Zach Sheets: but You want to just keep Kost? I'm ruined.

Chris Prime: I can't return this cape.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, at first the homeless people are ripping the cape off, and they're ripping all his clothes and shoes off. But then he's alive, and then they're like, oh, he's alive, we should help him.

Chris Prime: Yeah, like, they go from trying to rob a dead body to then we should nurse, we should, like... work for this man.

Zach Sheets: which Yeah, i we're definitely missing a scene. where how Vincent Price kind of like got them under his like thrall because like they're thinking about the health and it's like,

Zach Sheets: like how did he turn him into like his like uh like jigsaw army of apprentices

Chris Prime: Well, my theory is that because They all are alcoholics. He just had to have alcohol. Like, just... provide them with alcohol then he could just tell them to do what they need and they're just they're drunk like in every scene Because they're just like, whatever, as long as I get booze.

Chris Prime: I think it's implied that way because they're always like.

Zach Sheets: Do you think...

Chris Prime: tipsy or drunk stumbling around because they're all Drunk.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. Mm -hmm. You think, like, Lionheart drank some of that, like, purple drink or whatever they have then that like also made him, like, more crazy?

Chris Prime: See, another scene, too, would be if he made that cocktail. he's He's been constantly like drugging them. To do his bidding.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: That could have been another plot point. but The movie's pretty stacked. It needs to move at a brisk pace for British humor to take place between all this like killing.

Zach Sheets: But yeah, so they so so then yeah then hes he's been plotting for two years this like whole... Revenge scheme. Which led us to the beginning of the movie.

Zach Sheets: And then. The funny thing, too, is like the... Like. i Starting with, like, the duel. Like, it's kind of it's it's It's kind of a shift. Of, like, Vincent Price's characters? Because before before that... Like. duel scene he was in like very like theatrical like shakespeare cost like he was like costumes actually wear on stage And then after that.

Zach Sheets: After the duel, he's in like... Just like. wacky characters. like He's coming up with like these all these like other like characters. that he's like It's like... like a chef and like like a hairdresser and stuff so he drops like his

Chris Prime: yeah It kind of goes off script. from...

Zach Sheets: He drops like his stage personas.

Chris Prime: Mm hmm. yeah it no longer is the like hey here's i'm dressing up like a shakespearean stage actor i'm just now modern day background TV actor costumes and stuff.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. because yeah Because the next guy... Saltery. he this so he's like like murderously jealous. So if if you think he suspects that his wife is cheating on him, he's going to kill her.

Zach Sheets: So. Apparently, Vincent Price... has been showing up. Four weeks. As like her masseuse. you Giving her massages.

Zach Sheets: which i don't I don't know how that like how he got like got that gig or like how he like got we're doing that, but then he's also like... I think he's French or something, or Swedish, or I don't know.

Chris Prime: i don't know what accent it is.

Zach Sheets: I don't know what accent he's doing. He's doing accents. He's got a crazy beard. But yeah, they but they basically basically make make it seem like Oh, this guy is like... uh Your wife is cheating on you with this was this guy.

Chris Prime: Well, it's supposed to be like also based on... All fellow. where like an Iago character tells Othello...

Zach Sheets: Yes.

Chris Prime: Your wife is sleeping around. You should go check that out.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm. Yeah.

Zach Sheets: And yeah so he yeah, so he shows up. And then, but like, bursts through the door like Jack Nichols' style, like the shiny, like... breaks the door through. And then. Uh... doesn't care at all about Vincent Price. He just goes, really for his wife, just starts covering her face with a pillow and strangling her.

Zach Sheets: And Vincent Price is like talking to her of like, oh yeah, you know how many guys she slept with? Like a bunch, twenty like 20 guys would have been here.

Chris Prime: Well, I don't know if that critic

Zach Sheets: Like.

Chris Prime: listen to vincent price like he yeah mean or like figured that was vincent price i think he just We're so jealous.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. he was He was in a murderous rage.

Zach Sheets: And then, yeah, so he so he kills his wife, and then the cops arrest him, and then... like The cops are like, well, they're... That wasn't a murderer. It's like, well, he's... he's basically dead because he's going to prison for life and then he'll die in prison so that he's he's dead he got murdered

Zach Sheets: And then... The next murder, I think, is probably my favorite one in the entire movie, which is the one female critic, Chloe Moon. It shows it's like. She has to get her hair done.

Zach Sheets: even though they're under like... strict police escort. Like, they know, like... Lionheart is running around murdering them all She's like well I have to get my hair done

Chris Prime: I simply must in order for me to review things.

Zach Sheets: and then yeah so she she goes to the salon And then her normal guy that she goes to isn't there. But then. You have... Vincent Price dressed up as butch who has a crazy bob ross afro and like a And it's a disco shirt. like This is like that like... Definitely the best, like... Vincent Price -like alter ego in the whole movie.

Chris Prime: it's It's the most different, too. like everything is like almost like a macabre dark take on something. The chef is getting there.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: But yeah, when he's butch, it's just like, well. Uh... Time to... Just like... Put you in an electric chair.

Zach Sheets: Which also is like, well, Butch bush knows his best for you, baby. Like, come on, let's go. Let's get you downstairs

Chris Prime: and it's like not a red flag both the cop and Miss Moon are just like, yeah, okay, I trust that.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm. yeah my normal like it's like i show up and the salon's closed but then they they let me in but they also like my normal guy is not here all right that's not suspicious at all

Chris Prime: You know It's like you're you're being stalked by a murderer. And this is how you get past your security. It was almost like... Hitman video game level of bypassing.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. Yep. That would definitely be an Agent 47 thing. I'm going to pretend to be like a hairdresser and like get this person alone.

Chris Prime: Like, make the guard uncomfortable so that he doesn't follow.

Zach Sheets: It's like, all right, what are we what are we doing with your hair today? I know this this new shocking style.

Chris Prime: Yeah he doesn't do a lot of puns does he?

Zach Sheets: Not really. yeah You would think he would do the like... like his His puns are him quoting Shakespeare.

Chris Prime: Yeah.

Zach Sheets: Like he's quoting like from the plays that he's using to like.

Chris Prime: But that's not a...

Zach Sheets: kill people with.

Chris Prime: hun that's just quoting

Zach Sheets: But that's, that's like you know, that's like his like, his like. like final lines of them all.

Chris Prime: True. true

Zach Sheets: But yeah but this this is supposed to be like Joan of Arc and Henry the... End of the sixth. Which you got burned. it's that now But now it's like electrocution.

Zach Sheets: And then the the last guy. Uh, Uh, Mary do. Who. We have seen... a couple times in the movie like he has these poodles that are his like his babies he loves them And then.

Zach Sheets: He shows up. or It's funny. They they call. Oh. So, Vincent Price has one of his guys. Wear a Vincent Price mask. And drive a van right past... like this guy's house.

Zach Sheets: where the police are. So the police are like, oh man, it's Lionheart after him. And there's like a wacky like Benny Hill style where they they can't get their cars out of the way of each other. It's like this like... Two or three minute scene where they're backing up and almost hitting each other and trying to back up and get out.

Zach Sheets: like Totally like police incompetence. and then But then eventually they all get out and are are chasing this van around.

Chris Prime: Yeah. i'm surprised they were able to catch up to the van after just all that wacky hijinks. but See, that's where I'm like, that feels like something out of the monkeys TV show.

Chris Prime: or like a Beatles music video.

Zach Sheets: Mhm.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Zach Sheets: it's It's completely like Keystone Cops, just like wacky. like like Are these cops idiots? They can't even drive.

Chris Prime: Like no wonder Vincent Price is getting away with like. Five murderers or so, so far.

Zach Sheets: And then. Yeah, but then is send if it's a price and Diana Reagan, their whole crew show up in like a... A TV van, like a giant TV rig. And.

Zach Sheets: They are. When Maradu shows up at his house, they're already in his house, and they're surprising with a show called This Is Your Dish. Which I guess is like, this is your life, maybe, or something?

Zach Sheets: but

Chris Prime: I think it's a play on it. and like i don't think it's a real show like in the in the universe it is but

Zach Sheets: I... i was trying to figure out if this is also like if it's a price it's spent like he if he actually like created like a like he he's been like secretly starring on a tv show for like the entire time just to be like

Chris Prime: Oh my god, yeah.

Zach Sheets: Make it believable that like now they're like in his house. or if it's just if it is like a popular show and he he's like but like i was not filming it but like he's like just like impersonating the person that like like that show to like Trick this guy.

Zach Sheets: It'd be hilarious if it it was like... part of the scheme was like i spent a year creating this tv show and like like airing this TV show.

Chris Prime: Like. Vincent, I think you could have moved on from this murder thing. you've like

Zach Sheets: You could actually get paid for this show.

Chris Prime: Done.

Zach Sheets: like

Chris Prime: It's like... This is your dish with... Like... The Lionhearts.

Zach Sheets: Mm.

Chris Prime: And it's like, nah. That's not what I want.

Zach Sheets: But yeah, he's he's like a full -on like French chef. like He's a crazy French accent. Meredith was like delighted that it's like, this is my favorite show. I can't believe I'm on it. Then there.

Zach Sheets: They made a like a like a meat pie for him. That looks... Absolutely disgusting, even before you know what's in it.

Chris Prime: I think it's just like but I mean if A meat pie that's like more of a pot pie.

Zach Sheets: It's just like this.

Chris Prime: not Not bad, but it's just lumpy. Yeah, it it is just like... grueling lumps. But i've also I also ate a lot of...

Zach Sheets: it's Yeah, it's...

Chris Prime: frozen pot pies growing up as a kid so i'm like used to that kind of mush because it's like yeah whatever

Zach Sheets: It's just like it's like white snot gravy with like... mysterious chunks in it.

Chris Prime: Yep, that's what the dollar store pot pies would get you.

Zach Sheets: Hmm.

Zach Sheets: but yeah but there there's So so he you he's like, oh man, this is this is delicious. and then like it the reveal of like Oh, you like it? Your dogs are in it. It's like... Their heads, they were all just like silver platter we like two other pies like the pool's like heads chopped off on top of them

Chris Prime: Well, he says like... to Two pies. One for each of them or something like that. he shows that like he put enough meat of

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: the dogs into two pies and then Yeah, really just a... Stick it to the critic that. he killed the dogs like he planted the like perfect Placement for the heads.

Chris Prime: for the critic to see.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: Also... You gotta imagine that the homeless guys are just like, okay with this. They're like, yeah, whoa, okay. were what do we What are we doing today?

Zach Sheets: Yup. Yeah. I mean, they're but they're on board for pretty much everything until, like, the weird... like turn at the end but it's

Chris Prime: Yeah, when we get into that part, that kind of makes sense. It's like... Suddenly they want to live.

Zach Sheets: but But yeah, this is supposed to be like Queen Tamora from Tyson Dronicus. Like she ate her own children or was tricked into eating her own children. And then. Uh... And they, richard phrase like, throws, like, this guy on the table, and then he's like, are you going to write any more bad reviews about anybody? and He's like, No, I won't. know then But then...

Zach Sheets: They... Uh, Don't think it's worth it. They force feed him. If... Like put a giant funnel in his mouth and like four feet in the rest of the pies and choke him to death with like dog meat pies.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, so so well everyone's dead except for Devlin. like with surprises killed every single like critic there's like Uh, Like...

Chris Prime: wronged him.

Zach Sheets: Wrong Tim.

Chris Prime: Also, don't make it seem like Devlin. They seem like Devlin's the, like, a nice guy. It's like... He's not?

Chris Prime: You know, like. He still wrote the things and it's like, he's not our main hero.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. And he and yeah like and I think they like. They specifically wanted to take Lionheart down because they were fed up with him. but it' like This guy's a washed up. He's he's like overri like he's like overacting. We hate him. like We're not going to give him this reward.

Zach Sheets: We're going to give it to this younger guy that we like actually like. Even if Lionheart was like doing like great performances, I think they still were just like fed up with him.

Chris Prime: Yeah, they they just didn't like... His. character anymore.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Even though Devlin really wants to get with... The daughter. Play Lionheart. It's daughter.

Zach Sheets: Who her her cover or like her actual job is like she's like. doing like makeup, I think, for like movies.

Chris Prime: Mm hmm.

Zach Sheets: Because she's like... like They constantly cut her out in like the countryside, like doing filming some sort of movie.

Zach Sheets: But then... She agrees, like, she's like, Devlin shows up at a set and she's like, hey, I talked to my father. i'll show I'll show you where he is. I'll take you to him. No cops. it' like I'll take you there.

Zach Sheets: But then, of course, there's a trick, and then he is... tied up, and... uh put like a like a Torture chair. And then they're going to like, they have these like hot.

Zach Sheets: red hot pokers that are going to like drive into his eyes if he doesn't if he doesn't give... uh Lionheart, the award. the you the deserve two years ago. They're gonna theyre gonna reenact... The award show.

Zach Sheets: uh

Zach Sheets: With all of his homeless army, it's like the audience. then it's like they have They've like they got the banner, they've got like the... the statue. They're like, you need to present me the award. that Like, the way you were supposed to do it like two years ago.

Zach Sheets: And then like, then I was like, no. one i You deserve it. I'm not giving you the award.

Chris Prime: Yeah, it's pretty funny that, like... He just wants to, like, Vincent Price's ultimate revenge. besides killing all these critics, was to, like... tell this one head critic that i think he's been savoring The most to kill?

Zach Sheets: Just to like give give me the award. i Feel I deserve. Like. We we have to like make this official. You need to officially give me the award.

Chris Prime: Yeah. You have to say it. I need to hear it.

Zach Sheets: It'd be like, it'd be like if, like, us, like, like... a Hollywood actor like Look, we're like... absolutely certain they were like best actor and they didn't and it's like well I'm gonna I'm gonna kill all the critics that like give me bad reviews for this movie that I was in And then I'm the person that like, I'm going to like, or I kill the entire Academy that like, didn't vote for me.

Chris Prime: This is for La La Land not winning an Oscar.

Zach Sheets: if Ryan Gosling goes crazy. He just starts like... like Give me the award. you either like Jimmy Kimmel, present me the award you were supposed to present me.

Chris Prime: And then saving the last one for Warren Beatty.

Zach Sheets: Yes.

Chris Prime: I had a...

Zach Sheets: Yep.

Chris Prime: What's happening?

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Zach Sheets: But, yeah, but that was confusing, so then, like, Lyra's just like, well... Uh, Edwina, you just give me the word. to like It doesn't matter. because You just present me the ward.

Zach Sheets: and then so then like yeah he accepts the award and he's like doing his like acceptance speech and they're like popping champagne but then they're also going to burn down the theater Uh, like... It's the wind.

Zach Sheets: For... I don't know, cover their tracks, I guess, or like cover like cover everything up.

Chris Prime: I mean, everyone knows that he's he did it. there I think it was just more of a... Like, go out in a gla blaze of glory in theater.

Zach Sheets: But yeah, but this is what this this is like, there's like a lot, there's a confusion and like his homeless army is like kind of like. I like... like not they're kind of like just like running around like like crazy and then the The one kind of like...

Zach Sheets: Uh... like, female homeless, like, person that's been in their group. She takes the word like bashes at me in the head like back of the head with it. And then runs out. They all run out. And that that like blow was like enough to like.

Zach Sheets: Uh... faintly wound Edwina.

Chris Prime: Yeah, well, I mean, it's a back of the head and they're all still pretty. properly British, so that's like... A weak spot.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Like a massive weak spot.

Zach Sheets: Yeah. Hmm.

Chris Prime: But how heavy was that trophy that that was like?

Zach Sheets: He had to be pretty heavy. But how how much force did that like homeless woman... like have like two. like She's like...

Chris Prime: We've never seen them eat. We just see them drunk, so it's like... What?

Zach Sheets: I don't think she has enough strength to really kill somebody, but...

Chris Prime: Like a killing blow?

Zach Sheets: Got it.

Chris Prime: I don't...

Zach Sheets: I guess she does.

Chris Prime: Yeah, but Weena doesn't die instantly. She has like enough time for like a monologue and then she passes.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, i think well don't I think they... Do they do like a King Lear like monologue back to each other like back and forth to each other?

Chris Prime: I think so.

Zach Sheets: Because because because this basically like this basically made her... Cordelia. like And then Lanhart is King Lear, basically. Which I think they were quoting like... like that's That's the characters they're playing in their taunting of Devlin.

Zach Sheets: And then... Like a like like a classic like universal monster or something. Like Vincent Price grab like carries Wiener's body like up to the roof.

Chris Prime: Yeah, very like King Kong -like.

Zach Sheets: The burning roof. yeah he's like up on the roof and then everyone Everyone's like, everyone's like looking like like like on the street, like gasping at them. And he's like, he's doing like a, like another, like monologue, like a Shakespearean monologue.

Zach Sheets: And Devlin managed to like get out of the chair. like he like the The knives got stuck, so he was able to like escape. and also like And also, like, the cops, like, Inspector Boot finally showed up. It was like, oh, if we found you. Good. You're not dead.

Zach Sheets: And then... Yeah, so so like my art like he does look the final monologue for King Lear and then... Like, the theater, like, blows up and he fall he falls into, like, the back of the theater and, like... It burns up in the theater.

Zach Sheets: And then definitely has to give like one more like catty, like review of like. like It's still a bit over the top for me. like

Chris Prime: Yeah, just just another witty remark after like a whole... horrible series of events he's like haha i still got it

Zach Sheets: Yep. I win. I'm the i'm i'm the best critic.

Chris Prime: But you see the detective at the end, he's like... Oh I shouldn't have saved you.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, he's like, are you fucking serious right now? You're doing a witty... Review.

Zach Sheets: Like how many people are dead right now? Ten?

Chris Prime: Maybe more.

Zach Sheets: Because it's it's like... It's like eight critics and then Lionheart and then Wina. And then maybe some of the homeless people. i don't know we We don't know if they got out or not.

Chris Prime: I don't know what they did. They just, like, drunkenly stumbled down the stairs and then, like...

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: They never got out.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Zach Sheets: that's how the movie was just like it like and something like that like that one's like like He's like... Uh... It's like, when you remark, it's like... All right, credits. chris As we watch like the theater burn down.

Chris Prime: And it would have been nice. Uh... If like Edwina lived and then was like, I'll be back to finish like what my father started. About, like, critics. So, like, no critic what no critics were safe?

Zach Sheets: Oh man, yeah, like like a sequel. Mm hmm. A sequel, and she chooses a different... like like playwright or something. It's like all my plays are based on. I don't know. Who's, like, probably right?

Chris Prime: <unk> Like. I was thinking like American playwrights where it's just like a bunch of like. Like...

Zach Sheets: Mm.

Chris Prime: what's the guy who wrote like death of a salesman like peter seller or not peterson but you know like All those. great literaries.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Ted Williams. Ted William plays.

Zach Sheets: Yep.

Zach Sheets: Or like i Tessie Williams or something

Chris Prime: And Tennessee Williams.

Zach Sheets: It's like all, all my, yeah. I'm going to kill you like a High Street Guardian of Desire. i guess I guess you need to like come up with like a playwright that has like as many... murderers of Shakespeare.

Chris Prime: But you don't really need murders. Like, you just need deaths. You don't need, like... murdering you know You just need like a scene into someone dies, but.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Because yeah, a lot of Shakespeare plays are tragedies and then they have. Killings. It's easy. But that's why he's like the bard.

Zach Sheets: Or you...

Chris Prime: It's like he was one of the first people to do it. Well.

Zach Sheets: m I guess guess you know it would also just have to be like themed, I guess. Because they rewrote Shakespeare for this movie. like they They changed the version of Venice. like You could change whatever playwright you want to like have it be like more gristly. Death filled.

Chris Prime: now that means in 10 years there probably will be A movie that. wants to be solved. like and it's like the whole idea is that They're copying Saul.

Chris Prime: things.

Zach Sheets: oh

Chris Prime: It's a meta movie.

Zach Sheets: You know what's funny is like... If it's a price, like... the year after this like this president didnt like i feel like it's a similar kind of movie Is it? I think it's Madman. or madhouse Where he's like a he's like an old like horror actor. like uh he starts going on a killing spree

Zach Sheets: Yeah, Madhouse. It's 1974. It's like the year after he like he was like... I'm going to do it again, kind of. like i'm i'm a i'm an I'm an actor and I'm going on a killing spree.

Chris Prime: So... he's done movies like this again

Zach Sheets: Yep.

Chris Prime: You're saying? Oh, wow.

Zach Sheets: Like the year afterwards.

Chris Prime: Well was it for the American audience or the UK audience? Because I think like when this probably came out, this is geared towards more of the British audience. They probably didn't do so well in America because they're like...

Chris Prime: What is this?

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Zach Sheets: i I just know because like because Madhouse came up. like After watching Theater of Blood and Tubi, the next thing that came up was like, oh, you want to watch Madhouse?

Chris Prime: Yeah, I think mine did that too. There's a lot of Vincent Price movies.

Zach Sheets: Oh, yeah. 2B is like your home for Vincent Price stuff. You want to see some Vincent Price stuff. i think I think most of like the... Like... poe one's on there i think probably like like i don't like masculine death is definitely on there

Zach Sheets: I think Pit and the Pendulum is also on there too. Like the ones he did with like Roger Corman.

Zach Sheets: But yeah, but this this is i mean this is this this is a great for surprise movie. like This is like one of my favorite ones.

Chris Prime: I don't know if it was my favorite.

Zach Sheets: and

Chris Prime: It's just... I haven't seen a Vincent Price movie in the last, like... year or two but it's definitely like

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Chris Prime: up there. Memorable now, but... I just think it's more of a parody of like Vincent Price movies.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: I think House of Wax is one of my favorites. Because it's more a play for straights. Like straight forward. and Not so much like comedy.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, I'd probably say like House of the Wax or House of Haunted Hill are probably like... Two of my favorites.

Zach Sheets: I think like this is like this is not like a like intro this is not like if it's a press 101 movie like you need to like really like you need to like have seen a bunch and be like I love it's a price I love what he's doing I want to see like I want to see like you like him turned up to like 11 now

Chris Prime: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Agreed.

Zach Sheets: but think But I think it relate like like he just he loved that he got to do like like like tons of Shakespeare stuff in this movie. That's why this is like his favorite one. cause he because he never really like He didn't get a chance to do like a lot of Shakespearean adaptations or anything in films.

Zach Sheets: so like this is like i'll get through like all the greatest hits of shakespeare and also like kill people

Chris Prime: That's a shame. like He, I mean, the killing part, yeah, but... he He's a... Not bad Shakespearean actor. I feel like he's done probably stage plays and probably killed, but... Uh...

Chris Prime: having it being filmed. Very different.

Zach Sheets: Mm hmm.

Zach Sheets: Yeah, because you because obviously yeah yeah in that like he was in like the the horror mode for like most of his career, so he didn't get a chance to break out like other things.

Zach Sheets: But, yes, I mean, this is this is a great cult classic if you've ever seen this one. It's on Tubi. I think it's on a bunch of places. If you want to see, like... Yeah, just like...

Zach Sheets: Vincent Price is going ham on... Like Shakespeare and... Just the chewing scenery.

Zach Sheets: But yes, I think that'll do it for this week. Come back next week. We're going to be talking diving into 13 Ghosts. the 2003? Oh, 2001 movie, because it's celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Zach Sheets: which a remake of the William Castle classic. So we're going to... which oh so still kind of classic horror but now it's like the remake of it

Zach Sheets: So it will be also kind of a cult classic. I don't like that poster. The poster for 13 Ghosts 2001 is like, it's just one of those posters where you just like constantly see it everywhere.

Chris Prime: Mm hmm.

Zach Sheets: It's like the like like the mosaic of all the ghosts.

Chris Prime: but it's like i don't think it's all that goes i think it's just a mosaic of like Screams

Zach Sheets: turned And it turned into like like a person's face. but I mean.

Chris Prime: Yeah, yeah

Zach Sheets: I mean, I've seen that for like so many years. Since it came out, it's like... Oh, yeah, that that poster.

Chris Prime: Even though none of the ghosts become... That face.

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Yeah, it's like if you look at the poster, it's like way more than 13 It's like...

Zach Sheets: Yeah.

Chris Prime: Like...

Zach Sheets: It's like the Haunted Mansion. It's like $999 or whatever.

Chris Prime: Yeah, yeah

Zach Sheets: But yeah, we'll we'll dive into all that next week. and then head over to the site we got all of your stuff there we got news reviews trailers i got a review of uh The Conjuring. video game that's on Netflix that they basically did no promotion on.

Zach Sheets: It's from Supermassive. The company did Until Dawn. the quarry and like dark picture anthology so it's basically a new kind of Until Dawn style game, but it's on Netflix.

Chris Prime: Yeah, just sort of shadow drop.

Zach Sheets: So yeah, so you can check that out and a bunch of trailers up there as well and news and all kinds of stuff. So check all that stuff out. And, yes. For Chris, I'm Zach, and we will see you next week.
