Speaker: her now Like, genuinely. Actually doing it now. Okay, you know, we'll pause the podcast just for this brief moment. yeah Hey, well, we'll decide he's levelling up. Even though he was advised last week, hey, guys, be prepared because we'll be levelling up next week.

Speaker: Hello everyone welcome to this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are a live play 5.5e DNA campaign set in the magical homebrewed world of Eryth. I am Callum and I will be your dungeon master for this session this evening, this today.

Speaker: ah Joining with us tonight we have Will playing the human warlock Lady G. Hemorrhoids.

Speaker: We have... I don't know what to say to that. playing the Elf Ranger Kalen. I'm not playing shit. Ian playing the Elf Ranger Kalen. Blububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububububub

Speaker: That's Mr. Roy to you ah Speaking of Nothing associated with Roy Lady G Can you recap on What happened on last session Saying you broke this introduction completely li good I don't know if I can Get your butts checked kids yeah yeah Yeah Bleeding is not okay It's a PSA announcement Check your friend's butt Check everyone's butt Well, ah I believe what happened last time is that Alessio's letter ah told him to basically come and check out this crime lord's ah kind of lair for a quick meet-up, a quick catch-up, and many of the group decided to go with him, but not Lady G, who decided to stay at home and oyster herself up, and that is not a euphemism, sadly.

Speaker: and they went down into this gangster lair and met up with this gangster man who was like, hey, there's a test here, and people pussied out were little bitches, but Alessio was like, don't worry, guys, they're cool.

Speaker: They're with me. And this gangster man was trying to offer some help for a boon. The boon that he required in return was none other than the goods from the caravan that's being transported. This potential...

Speaker: ah like fountain of youth style ah thing that the contingency is not contingency, words, oh I fuck it, that Eurion's kind of working towards this immortality thing. And Alessio was like, you know what? No, we're good.

Speaker: We don't need your help. Go fuck yourself. And they left and started making their way back. I believe that is the vast majority of it. Please fill in the blanks because Lady G was sleeping. that ah we we We got a potentially a potion. We've got like a one in four chance having a potion of like Hag's Curse.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah. A Hag's Bum in several different jars. An imp might well be carrying one of those. Yes. There's a very, very good chance that an imp is carrying one of those. There are 10 caravans. There are like 40 men guarding those caravans.

Speaker: forty men guarding those caravans We also learned there were like three choke points on the river crossing that we can like, uh, like, uh, engage them out. And I think we were having a chat about the fact that we don't need to kill them all in one go. We can attack them. And then if we think it's not working, we can then like, you know, attack them and on the road. But yeah And then we got back, Alessio wedged the door shut to prevent it from being barged in easily and then had started to bed down for the night.

Speaker: And we left the back door completely unlocked. The back door was open for anyone to... yeah Lady G was just lying there gaping. Bed clothes off. To clarify, it's because she was very full. She was politely full.

Speaker: She'd been filled. Full of the security guard. yeah god She was getting a massage, I believe, from one of the guards. A hot stone massage, no less. is yeah stone She asked for a happy ending.

Speaker: um started telling her a fairy tale. Spare no expense. Absolutely, absolutely. um We also had ah Lady G, Alessio, and Remy that were staying...

Speaker: in the um room itself, where Cailin. The suite. In the suite at the four poster, um where Cailin had opted to settle down and enter his trance on the outside of the four poster, keeping a watchful eye over the events.

Speaker: Those who have of you who are in the four poster, it is... starting to creep into the early hours of tomorrow at this stage lady g you would be aware that your suggestion enchantment has indeed worn off jerome at this point while you may still be asleep just obviously sleep something when you come to you would be fully aware of

Speaker: You were attempting to wake up in the wee early hours of the morning. Yeah, I set my gnome alarm clock. Yes, you did have a gnome alarm clock. had a little lady she has to get up several times in the night to go for a wee anyway. so yeah Small platter.

Speaker: Alessio, I will say you are probably the first one ah to wake up. You would probably also be aware, based off conversations with Lady G, I think, that obviously Jerome's under an enchantment. You're aware of a time span that's passed since it was done.

Speaker: And you're already in your mind thinking that that time span probably up, or even from Lady G falling asleep, the enchantment might have were worn off.

Speaker: ah I don't think it's not. It's not. It's not a concentration. Suggestion is concentration. It's not a concentration, but i don't... I mean, you can roll for it, by all means, if you do an arcana check. But but but also, it's it's a suggestion, because Alessio does mind stuff, but also we know that suggestion, the put the the target at the end of it doesn't know that they want to suggest him, because the idea of his is that he but believes that it's all his own thoughts and processes that he goes through it. Yes, absolutely.

Speaker: Inception is what they should call it. Yeah. um So, yeah. So, okay. That's fine. Sorry. Keep going. callam poies No, no, you're perfectly fine. You are probably the, one of the first ones to wake up in the wee early hours of the morning. Now you was aiming for about two o'clock ah wake up call.

Speaker: I would say it's probably about two o'clock in the morning. You come to, you begin to have a slow look around. You realise Remy is not there.

Speaker: Oh, what a twat.

Speaker: Fucking hell. Again. Right, that's it. We're not getting that guy next time this time. ah Okay. Alessio stirs, turns off the alarm clock.

Speaker: ah Like, for fuck's sake. um Is there any sort of light in the room or that kind of stuff? There's like the remnants of a candle that was burning. That is literally the only light. So you can still see relatively clearly. Because I've finished a long rest, that mean I've leveled up?

Speaker: o Yes, we will be leveling up at this stage. Excellent. i'll I'll just do my level up now. but by but we ah

Speaker: I'm just going to do it now. Hang on. her now Like genuinely. Actually doing it now. Okay, you know, we'll pause the podcast just for this brief moment. Hey, well, we'll decide he's levelling up. Even though he was advised last week. Hey, guys, be prepared but we'll be levelling up next week. I was. I've just lengthened it deliberately because I asked you, oh, Callum, do you want me to level? I was going to level up my character before the podcast started. But you like, no, no, you've not finished level up yet. You're a long way to. was like, okay, fine. I'll wait for you.

Speaker: I'll just go with the next level up and I'll reverse it as and when any situation arises. Okay, that. yeah Decisions, decisions. Okay. i've done I was going to wait until everybody had leveled up and then obviously we can go through what everyone's level ups are. Yeah, okay. um Okay, yeah, fine. Okay, i mate I light a few more candles, look around. Is the door still wedged shut?

Speaker: The door still seems to be completely went shut. Okay. I'm going assume Remy's at like on the shitter, like he's got like runs or something, because he shares bodily fluids with his animal. No.

Speaker: And I will go and ah knock on Lady Labelia's door.

Speaker: Are you knocked with gusto? No, Ellen, keep your hands to yourself. No. Lady G, it's time to awaken. What? Hello?

Speaker: What? Oh, Alessio. yeah Is it? Is it the morn? I mean, it's it's it's some time in the morning, sure. I see. Or rather, I don't, because it's very dark in here.

Speaker: I don't suppose you have a spare torch, candle? And Alessio will sort of, and he'll bring in like a little, like a little, like, like, you know on the little, like the copper thing with the little, you know, on the little hook, you know, like like something out of a Christmas Carol, like bring it in. and Do you have a little wee-wee-wee-winkie hat on? yeah No, I do not. I imagine you do, though. Or no, I imagine Lady G has like curlers in. Alessio's huge coming into the room now.

Speaker: um Yes, something quite important as well. Callum, it is past midnight. Can you roll another D8 for me, please? I can.

Speaker: I can, I can, I can. Is this whether Lady G turns into a pumpkin or not? Absolutely not. It's not that. It's going to be be depending on what shape Lord Bentley will be actually going. Whether it's even Lord Bentley, we shall Well, yeah, it might not be Lord Bentley anymore, which I don't think it is because I don't think I rolled this one last time.

Speaker: i got a seven. Oh, shit. Okay. Yep. Okay. Uh... So what you see then with Lady G this time is what looks to be this kind of very small female kind of green fairy with kind of flowing clothes. There's a little quiver on her back and a bow and arrow. This, well, is a sprite.

Speaker: Her familiar has changed to a sprite familiar, and the wings are just kind of flapping ah steadily behind as she has arisen from her slumber. This is Baroness Guinevere, and she says, Oh, the Baroness today, it seems very well.

Speaker: If you wouldn't awfully mind helping me with the light, Guinevere, I would greatly appreciate it And she'll kind of go about her It would be morning routine, but obviously it's mid-morning, stupidly early, and she's just going to get herself dressed, get her equipment and things like that sorted with the Baroness help her.

Speaker: So can the Baroness do anything specific, can I just ask? ah Yeah, I mean, the features of a sprite. They've got a little needle sword, which is quite cool. And their bow as well does fuck all damage, but can charm a target until its next turn if it fails a saving throw, which is quite cool.

Speaker: And they can also... um

Speaker: C, Celestial Fiends and... oh wait, no shit. What's this say? Heart Sight. One creature within five feet, the sprite can see. Failure. The sprite knows the target's emotions and alignment. Yeah, so it can make set force a saving throw and know whether something feels emotionally...

Speaker: in some way and it looks like as well it can be invisible too so that's quite cool but it is significantly weaker than the imp question if you will obviously it says attack restriction a familiar can't attack but can take other actions as normal ah is there a needle sword enchanting bow those actions rather than attacks ah So I would agree with you, Will, were it not for my Pact of the Chain invocation, ah which basically allows me to use my bonus action to make it make an attack. So it can, yeah, that's that's how it can be. I just didn't know whether, because obviously it can't take the attack actions, but it lists has it lists as actions. Needle, so I didn't know whether they were actually, they were actions worded like that. to deliberately oh no, yeah, no, those are attacks.

Speaker: Yeah, those are definitely attacks, but because they're special, familiar, and also with the the wording of the pack to the chain shit. um Usually, with pack to the chain, if and if you don't have the investment with pack to the chain, one of the rulings it says here is additionally, when you take an attack action, you can forego one of your own attacks and allow your familiar to make one attack of its own with a reaction.

Speaker: But I've got investment of the Chainmaster as well, which means that I can ah effectively, as a bonus action, command the familiar to take the attack action. Nice. So it gets to use its sword and little bow. if If I choose it to, yes. Baroness Guinevere can certainly do that.

Speaker: It's pretty cool. I mean, I'm glad that you rolled a seven and not some of the other things that I've got. Could very, very bad, I'm sure. So as they're getting ready, Alessio leaves li Lady G and ah Baroness, whatever a name is, to get ready. And I go and I perhaps go find the water closet and to see whether ah Remy is in the water closet.

Speaker: You knock on the water closet and there is no response. You open it up and peek your head in. I'm not peeking, I just push the door open. No, you push the door open.

Speaker: It is vacant.

Speaker: Oh, what a twat. You have a quick look round. You realise that the window is slightly ajar in this room. No, it should be a window, not ajar.

Speaker: Hilarious. Bellend. Bellend. ah Will seems very pleased with himself on that. dad Dad joke 101 right there. Carry on.

Speaker: um and That's it. You notice that the window is has been left ajar. You're very confident, obviously, with your preparation the night before with making sure the door was well secured and wedged, that you went round and you checked every window.

Speaker: um But one particular one has been left ajar. Okay, I'm going to look out the window.

Speaker: It's still pretty dark outside, so you can't really see anything else. You know it goes off to the side of the four-post. Are we quite high up? You're one story up, which is probably about 15 or so feet.

Speaker: Okay. Are there any, like, ah because with my blind sight of 10 feet I've got, by the way, um are there any, I don't know whether I can,

Speaker: Yeah. ah I'm going to sort like feel along the window ledge. Does it feel like scuffed as if someone's like had to climb over it or through it? You can go for an investigation.

Speaker: I will. Thanks. That's an 18. There's certainly a few scuff marks along like the outside of the windowsill. Yeah.

Speaker: there's probably a couple of loose bits that you think are like a little bit fresher than most things. So obviously you'd imagine if things were a little bit deterioration, they would have been smoothed, but there's like just a few odd little loose shavings of wood on the windowsill.

Speaker: Okay. Um, I will turn away from the window side to myself uh because i can't see caitlin from here because because of the the sign the darkness that stuff um uh i will make sure everything's packed up is remy's stuff any of remy's like bedroll and that kind of stuff still here or not that seems to have gone okay that's not so easy so it's not like he was kidnapped or anything he something he left deliberately to gone forever okay that's fine um

Speaker: Okay, Alessio will get his stuff ready. and We don't have the um magical mentor talking at this stage until later, so that's fine.

Speaker: Lady G, you're going through your morning routine. Probably maybe a good 10 minutes while Alessio has been checking things and just piecing stuff together. is there anything you'd like to do this fine morning? ah She will do her morning stretches.

Speaker: And she will kind of do her morning vocal warm-ups somewhat quietly to herself to to help within her acting. And ah yeah, she'll eventually kind of make her way out of the room in her usual attire, this kind of black Victorian style long dress, hair pinned up behind her with kind of various pins and things holding it in place, looking pristine. And she will have Baroness Guinevere sat atop her shoulder as well.

Speaker: And yeah, back into the room with Alessio and just say, so are we leaving then?

Speaker: Yeah, Remy's not here. I'm hoping he just went outside earlier. um Otherwise we'll have to we'll have to find him again at some point, but that's another problem. Let's get out of here then.

Speaker: or Remy's not here Remy's not here It looks like he climbed out the window Don't I'm going to have words with him okay I'm pretty sure he had words with himself And advised himself against doing Prattish behaviours I think next time we see him perhaps Well he seems a bit of a liability We should put him on a naughty step or something Yeah sure i was just going to Smack him but sure okay All that do I have to leave via the window?

Speaker: No, I was going to have us just walk out the front door. Oh, good. I thought there was some sort of ah exciting escapade, but I was going to warn you that these wrists and forearms are not what they used to be. mean, you can go out the window if you want.

Speaker: No. No, I do not want. But what will happen with my trunk?

Speaker: Can you establish the communication once more with Caelan? I have be able to see him to do so. Well, that's not very good, is it? Tell you what going to do. Okay, ah what I'm going to do is I'm going to drag the rope to the window. and Not the rope, the trunk to the window. I'm going to attach some rope to the trunk. And I'm going to lower the trunk out of the window down to the ground floor.

Speaker: Out the window. Okay. Okay. Strength check. Is that an athletics check? No. The strength check. ah So a strength saving throw is what you're asking for. a strength check. There's no such thing as a strength check. It's either a saving throw or a saving throw. and then use your strength modifier.

Speaker: So a strength saving throw is what that is right there. just just just know No, it's not a strength saving throw. Let's just roll the d20 and add your strength modifier or minus your strength modifier. This is the kind that would be athletics, just saying. Okay, fine.

Speaker: i I don't think it would be because athletics is a skill and you are basically lowering a trunk out of a window. Not that I have any bearing or any weight to add to this, especially because it is a rules thing, but I am going to side with our rules consultant here because it clearly says on DMD Beyond, if you're going to roll strength, it's under the save and throw section. But if you're going to roll a strength check, athletics is the strength modifier.

Speaker: Boo! Ian, I'm going to have to side with the the the will of the rules consultant. See, that's a really good idea, Ian, and I love that you're backing up the rules consultant. However, you've got to understand the key rule that the DM makes the rules, and the DM's decision is final, but rules consultant or not. Or he has to make it very clear what rules he's following or what rule he's not. Yeah, because now if we don't follow a rule book...

Speaker: It's anarchy. Are we human? I will explain my decision, if I must, and the fact that you are just luring a trunk. This is a pure strength action.

Speaker: This is not anything to do with skill. If you were doing athletics for skill... And now we're talking about the dichotomy of the word athletics. Callum, because I've sided with you, can I get inspiration, please? You have one from doing the recap anyway.

Speaker: Oh, nice one. Check me out. Eat shit, Will.

Speaker: It shouldn't be that different anyway, in all fairness. It's the same. Because as a bard, I've got um i've got ah so Jack of all trades, which means my modifier wouldn't be minus one. That's a crucial thing.

Speaker: But anyway, it's fine. It's okay. Don't worry about it I got a two, but I'm going to use my heroic inspiration to re-roll that. Okay. You better re-roll that.

Speaker: It's a very heavy trunk. Even Caelan struggled with this trunk. Caelan's not a... Caelan, hold on, don't say even Caelan. Natural 20. What the fuck? If this skill check, I couldn't crit it. But could you just ask for a straight 320? I can't crit it, so... Absolutely. dicks. I've got no argument to that. I've got no argument to that. Eat dick. I wouldn't argue with that. No.

Speaker: Just eat it, Callum. Eat that dick. That D20 dick.

Speaker: You... Rather unexpected. You are expecting a lot of weight to this trunk. You know, you've seen it carried before. It's filled with all of Lady G's bits and pieces. You're getting your strength ready. You're putting down your athletics. Don't make this about her. Maybe underestimating your own strength at this stage. With a strength of eight, absolutely.

Speaker: yeah you You go to lift. You you position legs. You straighten back. You... lift You make it athletic. You make it straight onto the window. You make it good power lift. You tie the rope onto it.

Speaker: And with great ease and great gentleness. Some would say great athleticism. yeah No, I think it would be great strength. Which I have demonstrated. Alessio has demonstrated great strength in this

Speaker: because i'm I'm going to assume that Remy just nicked everything from it. That's why I said like,

Speaker: i'mm know good as I'm it. Cause I rolled a natural 20. I'm going to play with it. I almost like, I like pretend to like, like, like forget, like, I almost dropped the rope, to almost dropped the case just to wind Lady G up. and Then I just lower it normally.

Speaker: Yeah, it works. She's wound the fuck up. Be careful. All right, you all right? Don't lose it. not all right, all right. There are decades worth of items and clothes and jewels within that case. You will be careful.

Speaker: I mean, it feels pretty light. So, I mean, Remy's maybe stolen all. Who knows? If that little shit has stolen a thing from that case, I will have his head. Anyway, let's go, shall we?

Speaker: I'm going to open the door gracefully for Lady G. Good. And she'll just swan out of the room, head held high. and Fantastic, fantastic. You notice as well, at this early hour, there is only one guard posted outside your door who makes no... No, no, he's wide awake.

Speaker: He makes no gesture to you as you're leaving. He's probably surprised that you're up ah this early in the morning. But aside from that, there's no

Speaker: um there's then no stopping, obviously, whatever you're up actually for. He assumes he might just be going for a stretch, a walk, who knows. Lady G will brush her hand across his face and say, Reuben, appreciate you and your efforts last night. And she'll give her a slight wink as she carries on walking.

Speaker: And he blushes. ah Caelan, just while that has been going off, your trance that you have been in ended um yeah could probably a couple of hours ago, I would have thought.

Speaker: You have noticed this you've heard something being dropped from the far side of the four posters. So you're looking at it dead on, I believe, if I record correctly. And you've heard this little scuffle and noise from something on the right-hand side of this luxury hotel. Okay, so Caelan would just peer around. Not not close, just ah a healthy distance away. What am I seeing?

Speaker: You... Well, do you have any kind of dark vision? Yes, I am an elf. Oh, yeah, you are, aren't you? You can clearly see and recognize the trunk that is Lady G's just being lowered from the window. Okay.

Speaker: Go on, stay away from that one. Goes down very, very slowly, and it's placed very carefully, followed by a rope that falls down from the window. Caelan's looking at it just...

Speaker: Whoever is doing that is sharing some great athleticism. I knew that comment was coming. Wow. A lot of people mistake that for strength, but it's not.

Speaker: It's a lot more to it than that.

Speaker: I'm going to have you just doing every check now. There's no skills involved tonight. Um...

Speaker: we We'll just pash back to... Oh, nice. Okay, cool. Thanks. you If Caelan doesn't want to do anything else based off of that... No, he doesn't get to do anything else. I've been a little bitch.

Speaker: Is there anything else that you would like to do, Caelan?

Speaker: No, go back to the others. Okay. Um... You start descending down the staircase, assuming, start making your way to the front door. Jerome is not on point at the desk, however.

Speaker: You have Reginald. He introduces himself as such. Is there anything can do for you ah fine people this morning?

Speaker: Keep an eye on my rooms for me. We shall be returning. i just intended to go for a little stroll here with, the well, my number one man.

Speaker: She winks at Alessio. This early? ah you questioning me, Reginald? Absolutely not, ma'am. I'm just saying it's rather early in the morning. I'm afraid you may encounter drunkards, vagabonds, hooligans.

Speaker: Fear not. I'm merely concerned for your welfare. I enjoy a stroll under the stars with fewer eyes around. And she kind of lingers her eyes on Alessio as well.

Speaker: Then please, do enjoy your walk. I shall, thank you. And she'll lead him Alessio out the door.

Speaker: Alessio allows himself to be led. As soon as we get outside, I'll say to Alessio, they're less inclined to ask questions if I make it sexualized. I do apologize.

Speaker: It's not the first time I've used sex to get my own way. It isn't? no Me neither.

Speaker: Carry on. but

Speaker: She'll be rolling for Alethicism later. Yeah. Actually, think it's a straight, I think it's a dexterity save. It's not acrobatics either. No, it's Lady G. It's save. It's a performance save. yeah Yeah, Lady G, cheese toastie, just say. its Just stop. I'll come in with a medicine check. Be fine. And cheese conchers again.

Speaker: Lady and Alessio, you step outside, you look intentionally straight away for Cailin, who you can just see, kind of not hidden, not trying to make himself look very stealthy at this stage, but obviously probably aware, pardon pardon me if this is wrong, but he's probably aware that your exit out of the four-poster would be imminent with the trunk being descended down the side.

Speaker: Does this town thing have, does it does it have like street lamps, torches kind of things, or or are we relying purely on moonlight for the street outside?

Speaker: There is a limited amount of street lighting. It's enough where on the main street you can clearly see where you're going, ah but if you're going down any kind of um alleyways, back roads, and anything like that, then it is just moonlight that you will have.

Speaker: What sort of moonlight is it? ah It is a half moon. Okay. Is it cloudy? Yes. Very. Okay.

Speaker: So we can't see the moon very well. Okay. So it's quite perfect for our thievery. Yes. And fewer werewolves.

Speaker: Excellent. Alessio will nod at that. I don't think we're facing the werewolves, but good to know. um And he goes out to find Caelan.

Speaker: and You find Kalen.

Speaker: Okay. Right. Kalen, Remy's done a walkabout again.

Speaker: Kalen, even though I've heard this chunk being athletically lowered to the ground, I assume I didn't hear Remy.

Speaker: No. For whatever reason, you know, whatever reason, he's aware of any kind of stealth tricks, picked him up from you, picked up from Alessio, picked him up from training and practice. You've not been made any aware of you've been not made aware of any of travels of his.

Speaker: Okay. I thought so because you hadn't told me. So I thought I'd just better ask in this moment. It's a fair point. Fair point.

Speaker: Sorry, Alessio, you were saying...

Speaker: I can't remember what I was saying. Ah, Caelan, my trunk has been lowered from the room. if you wouldn't mind taking it to the horses and strapping it on for me.

Speaker: What's this about, Remy? but i Have you seen him? He's missing, isn't he? Oh, yes, yes. yeah And Remy's missing again. He's... I was going to be very rude then. He's disappeared. Again.

Speaker: Again. Through choice, most likely. The window was open. you Rather drafty, actually. Very inconsiderate. ah Do you want me to track him? No, I want you to carry my trunk to the horse's...

Speaker: they And attach to the prettiest horse you see. Alessio. i At this stage, I think we've got to assume that he's doing whatever he feels he needs to do. Don't get me wrong. Slap him for it later.

Speaker: um I think he likes being captured and tortured. ah We stick to the mission. He's doing whatever he's doing. We've all got our secrets. you know I can't really talk about wandering off and doing my own thing, so it's fine.

Speaker: Let's go get the horses. He knows where to meet us, if need be. And it's just... get this done. I was thinking if we carry the the chest with us for a little bit so we can then leave it in a side alley, get the horses, and then get the trunk onto the horses once we've stolen them. side alley?

Speaker: Yeah. In this town filled with ruffians and criminals... Alessio looks around.

Speaker: there any ruffians or criminals around, Gallim? I can see two of them, Alessio, directly in front of me. Unless you're going to turn around. Do that little...

Speaker: what Where? For podcast perspective, he he raised his arms as if... Who, Sort of style. Well, perhaps I should just leave the trunk here. No, I can't leave it here because then when we don't return, they can use it against me.

Speaker: Oh. It's fine. We'll take it with it Let's go. Caelan can carry it. He's done it many a time before. but I want Caelan to keep himself you know free and able to react to things if we need to on the way there.

Speaker: Caelan? How fast are stables?

Speaker: Are you asking me as a DM? Because you did that in character voice. umm Well, I don't think I was there. so i just Was I? I remember where the stables was.

Speaker: I can take the trunk. We should be okay. Oh, thank goodness. you want to athletically carry it together or do you want to bring strength it Let me just use my own individual athletics here.

Speaker: Your own strength.

Speaker: I'm going to athletically lift it. I saw a power lifter use his legs.

Speaker: That was an athletics thing. Yeah. I'm going to take the trunk, but if you could watch my and our back, because I am pretty incapacitated when I carry this thing.

Speaker: Of course.

Speaker: So Callum, I'm going to athletically jog over to the trunk yeah and then athletically squat and lift with perfect strength.

Speaker: Perfect motion. Back completely straight. No bend. It's a good lift. and brief good life It's a good lift. Give me a strength check. i Ah, touche.

Speaker: i' too I'm in too deep now. It's never going to like to use dexterity for all my checks from now on. just I'm going to come up with a reason why. 11. This thing is as heavy as you remember.

Speaker: Maybe even a wondering a little bit if it's heavier. She put more stuff in here. She's stolen the light bulbs from the fucking hotel. and The candles are all in there. Callum, pretty made a I'd like to have made a help action with that so we can roll with advantage.

Speaker: ah How are you helping? when he's going through everything by himself where he wants to basically do a deadlift on this trunk. I'm guiding him, making sure he doesn't like lift it and it makes it just an even load. keeping heart He's doing me a protein shake, mate. He's shaking up protein right now. He's checking your posture at this moment. I've got some creatine in one hand, by protein in the other hand. I'm spotting your legs, not with you back, with your legs. He's Alessio in a cheerleader uniform just next to him.

Speaker: my PT. He's my PT. I'm not in any uniform. He's strapping a weight belt around my chest as I'm doing this. Okay, go on. I'll give you advantage to it. I'll give you advantage to it for the trunk.

Speaker: That is what the help action does, isn't it? Yeah. It did help. Again, much like before, you remember the trunk being very heavy and having to move it many, many miles um beforehand with Lady Jean. It really, really slowed you down.

Speaker: You prepared this time, correct posture, correct?

Speaker: lift it up quite nice and easily. You're still moving in a little bit slow with it, but at the very least you feel more confident about taking this all the way to the stables, which is on the other side of the town.

Speaker: Great. I'll ride bitch position. You guys take front. Very good. I think I shall ah adopt my previous persona of Dalen. See as though you look like you're blending well to the night.

Speaker: So... I suppose here we go. I'll keep my wonderful, baddalesque Guinevere nice and silent upon me. him And be careful with the contents, Caelan. Thank you.

Speaker: Disguise self looking exactly the same as Caelan, but with a scar. You've got the scar again.

Speaker: Let's go. And you start making your way down towards the stables.

Speaker: It's a long walk. You go past drunkards, you go past people who are collapsed in the street, just snoozing. um lu that but Fortunately, none of them really approach you um or get close. They might say hello to you, wave to you in a very, very drunken stupor of a manner.

Speaker: um But you're able to make your way to the stables quite ah quite nimbly. just following through the main paths.

Speaker: Now, as you get to the stables, you start to recall everything that you saw before of the inside, the outside. But the first obstacle that you have to get past is the large 12-foot fence that seems to go all the way around.

Speaker: the yeah area of the stables and the buildings henceforth within. So we're still lugging the trunk with Lady G and Alessio nearing the front.

Speaker: How would you like to proceed? I suggest we leave the trunk just over there in the shadows so we can pick it up on the way out. Free your hands. Yeah, it's not a bad idea.

Speaker: Maybe you should connect our brains like you did before. I connect our brains.

Speaker: Let's just remember how I do this. Oh, yeah. I already do sex. Cool. It's still weird to me when you do that.

Speaker: What, me or him? Yeah. But I'm you. Yes. it And it's still Ten seconds older and with a scar. Why you the older one?

Speaker: It's part of the backstory. It's difficult to change it once you fully commit. ah That's ah six hours of um of telepathy we have.

Speaker: It's a fucking lint. Just before we do proceed, i will take a ah slight pause. Every single one of you at this stage has had their long rest.

Speaker: So naturally, if you'd like to take a moment to up yourselves to that glorious level six in preparation for this, please do so.

Speaker: Level six, baby!

Speaker: Such a lackluster approach to level 6. I just said level 6. What do you want from me? kind of Volume? Do want to know what we took? so Yes, please. Alessio, do tell me what you've taken at level 6. Okay, so I took ah level 4 in Rogue, ah which doesn't give me many bonuses. ah What it does give me is the ability to take an an ASI. And for this, I chose to take the Skulker feat.

Speaker: ah This feat increased my dex by one. Takes a 17. Doesn't matter. It gives me blindsight with a range of 10 feet, which is very cool. So when you think within 10 feet of me, I can basically perceive the shit out of it, including invisible things. Fun. It gives me fog of war, which means gain advantage on stealth checks I make as part of the hide action in combat. Mm-hmm.

Speaker: And if I make an attack roll while hidden and the roll misses, ah making the attack doesn't reveal my location as part of the hide action, so it means I would stay in invisible. Fantastic. That's very, very handy for what you're just about to do, which I like.

Speaker: Wonderful, wonderful. Other will. You get a level six. I've gone for a level in Barbarian. and No, i it's another level in Warlock. It doesn't get me too much. I get a level six feature with my great old one, which is called Clairvoyant Combatant, which Nyx has in the main campaign. So I can effectively, with my telepathic bond that I can set up with a bonus action, I can force that creature to make a wisdom saving throw. And if it fails, it has disadvantage on all attacks against me. And I have advantage on all attacks against it.

Speaker: um So yeah, pretty cool feature. that? Yeah, Nick's has got that. He just doesn't know how to use it. Nick's got half of this shit, man. And also I get access to a few more spells and I can change some cantrips and shit around like that. So I have fiddled about with some, but not all.

Speaker: Cool. Awesome, awesome. Ian, what does Cailin get at level 6? Roving, that's it. He's speed increased by 10 feet while I'm not wearing heavy armor. I have climb and swim speed equal to my foot speed.

Speaker: That's quite cool. Yes. can climb, a trunk, 5 feet. yeah i can just climb yep forty five feet

Speaker: with a truck fantastic with a trunk five feet Depends if you're able to throw it up first and use it for momentum. Would that be an athletics check?

Speaker: Strength, definitely. It's a throw. Athletics. you yeah you know Focusing on raw physical power, endurance, heavy lifting, active grappling. yeah Difficult handling.

Speaker: How do I mute Will on this thing? Can't. I'm always there.

Speaker: You guys stand... near the stables, this large wooden 12-foot fence goes as all the way around the land. You've seen this before and you've noticed the gates that were present beforehand anyway.

Speaker: They are shut and appear to be locked.

Speaker: As you've been walking towards the stables, you started to feel trickles of rain actually come down. As you've approached the stables more and more, it seems to have sped up.

Speaker: So it is quite the um There's quite a downpour that is going off now as you are stood in front of the stables. Oh, good. This one mean will mean we'll count as lightly obscured in the event of combat. This is good.

Speaker: okay It most certainly would yes. ah Have we seen other are there signs of life within like the the stable compound, or does it look dark?

Speaker: It's a 12-foot fence. You can't see over it. is it Is it like slap to slap, like you can't peer through the gaps? ah It's pretty well... Yeah, okay, it's pretty well made and pretty flush to each other. There might be the odd gap you can possibly peer through.

Speaker: um It looks to be mostly quiet on the other side. There is, um you're very aware, a long pathway down to where you have two separate, almost barn-style...

Speaker: um buildings and then two areas behind that where you guys had seen all the horses earlier yesterday.

Speaker: The only issue is there is one house that people live in that, you know, people live in there, um, that you have to go past in order to get down towards these two buildings.

Speaker: Okay. Um, is the key we nicked earlier, ah the one that opens this gate,

Speaker: You can try. Okay, I'll try the key. and Athletically. that There's three keys on this um keychain, I believe. And you eventually find the one that does seem to lock and unlock this thing. But as you've figured that out, you realize the lock was unlocked anyway.

Speaker: But as you try and move the gate, it's been barred from the other side. Ah, because they couldn't lock it because of the keys we had. Yeah, yeah, pretty much.

Speaker: ah Okay, I look. Hey, Caelan, reckon you can get over this quickly?

Speaker: It's only about 12 feet high. so You take the trunk. I can scale this. Well, let's just leave it here in the in the shadows and we can get the horse set. Sounds really good to me.

Speaker: And Caelan will hop, skip, and a jump. athletically climb over them. yeah ah As I said, this is a very well-compacted fence. It would be quite difficult, but not impossible.

Speaker: Should you be ah skilled enough in acrobatics, I think it would be for this. I presume you would pick acrobatics anyway. ah Just climbing.

Speaker: You're not hopping and skipping and jumping? Hop, skipping a jump. That's athletics though, isn't it? 18 for an acrobatics. You are quite easily, despite the rain possibly making the surface a little bit slippery for you, you're able to gain enough ah composure to kind of step up onto, put your hand to the top and fling yourself up to you if you want to go over. At the moment, I'm just going to say you fling yourself onto the top of the fence. Yeah, no, you're right in saying that. Caelan would get to the top and...

Speaker: He would survey the scene. What am I seeing, my guy? Well, if you click on the link that is in the chat, it should take you to a small map on D&D Beyond. Amazing. I want to clarify because it's dark, isn't it?

Speaker: It is dark. You have dark vision. 120 feet of dark vision. That's a lot feet. that is lot so much feet so like give me the good stuff my guy give me the good stuff 120 feet worth of dark vision you can fucking load quite clearly see through lot of open field the house um that is on the left are you looking at a map when you're describing this

Speaker: I am, but you're not seeing all of the map We're not seeing this map. We ain't seeing shit. But then the listener ain't seeing shit either. They've got the mind's eye. Let's use your imagination brush of your tongue and paint us an image, Callum.

Speaker: In our mind's eye. Listeners, I invite you, like a cheesy daytime kids TV show, I invite you, too, to paint an image with your imagination brush. Callum, imagine callams colors what colours are you conjuring up into a canvas?

Speaker: Welcome to Callum's Corner. Mum, mum, pick me up, I'm scared.

Speaker: I don't like this Santa Claus.

Speaker: What you can see, Caelan, from the your advantageous point on top of this fence, you see the two large buildings at the bottom, barn-style ones, both of which have got a light ah lit and on the side of it.

Speaker: You know where the entrances are to these things. They are on the other side. So you are seeing the back of these barns. If you were to come closer to you, south direction, there is a long trail that is probably about 100 foot in length.

Speaker: And halfway along that trail is a residence, an abode. This is where it would be a safe assumption that you would see the people who look after the stables would reside most of the time.

Speaker: This is a simple 50 foot-ish long one level ground story residence.

Speaker: There are no lights on. East or west of the road? West. West.

Speaker: Doors facing the road? Doors facing the road indeed.

Speaker: You can see two windows from your current position on the south-facing wall.

Speaker: Windows that are full-length or windows that are... Half-length.

Speaker: What else do my elf eyes see? Currently, no activity. As there are no lights on in the house, you can't see anything moving around. You still have excellent dark vision, so you can still clearly see into the southern part of the house.

Speaker: One seems to be a bedroom, and one seems to lead you into a kitchen.

Speaker: Aside from that, there's a lot of open fields. Okay, and give me the weather. As I said, the moon is heavily overcast by grey darkened clouds that are chucking down.

Speaker: ah Not quite a torrential downpour, but a heavy rain. Okay, so Cailin's hood is up. The rain is good. Any wind? There is a slight breeze, yes.

Speaker: And this entire landscape is dirt or is there a mixture of concrete, rocks? What's the terrain? Mostly dirt, farmland. Even the trails itself are um like almost Western dried up ground on it. There's certain bits of farmland that, you know, would be used for grazing.

Speaker: But for the most part, it's dry. It's barren. Is there puddles around because of how wet is? There are some that are starting to form, yes. Awesome.

Speaker: Okie dokie. So Caelan's going to... um He's got the telepathic link, right? So he's he's basically done a DM version of what you've just done um to Lady G and Alessio, and then he'll finish it with... ah Okay, I'm going to find a way to open the gate.

Speaker: and Caelan's going to hop down on the other side and land noiselessly. And by that, I mean he's going to land in such a way where there's no puddles, but the ground is soft, and it's a superhero landing.

Speaker: His muscles, as soon as they hit the ground, he goes down with it, carrying his momentum low, baby. You are jumping off a 12-foot fence into...

Speaker: Slightly soppy ground at this stage. Yes. So there is ah very, very minute splash yeah just as your ground hits the water.

Speaker: Negritable to probably everybody else except yourself. He's using the rain as cover. You look at the back of the gate and you can see that um they're not like particularly central, but there's been two metal bars that have been strewn into it, basically with pieces of lumber kind of locked on.

Speaker: Sorry, I say not two metal bars, two metal hooks that have been assigned to it that's hard wooden timber put onto it just to kind of block it from the inside, the very least for this evening.

Speaker: Okay. So again, looking around, he's just going to tease one part of the wooden handle, wooden block.

Speaker: Let's go with the nearest side that he's on. um How heavy is it?

Speaker: He's on one side. So the seesaw, if we use physics, the weight he's going to be pushing up and the weight is going to shift downwards into a seesaw-like motion. So he's not looking at doing a deadlift here no with his athletics. He's doing a ah scientific experiment counter lever.

Speaker: You would probably estimate the piece of timber itself maybe about 10 kilograms. Can I push it? Yeah, absolutely. Okay. You can push it. You can lift it quite easily. So he's going to lift it on that one side and he's going to carefully carry it.

Speaker: And instead of letting it go all the way over, He's going to hold it, lift it over the metal bar, and then squat down. There's so many powerlifter moves today. Squat it down low, real low. Shorty got back low and place it gently into the mud.

Speaker: with Success? Yeah, absolutely. so Because a lot of the weight as you've done that, it's still held up by the other metal bar. There's not even...

Speaker: A strength check required for such a thing. Science for the win. He's going to go around to the other side and do exactly the same pure athletic driven movement into that low squat, straight back, clean, clean.

Speaker: And using your strength again, you lift up to the metal bar and quite easily again, all the weights on the other side. So you can quite easily put it down to the ground. There we go And he'll just open the door.

Speaker: so Really fucking hard. No, you go really slow on the door open. Just enough of a crack just to allow Alessio and Lady G. Fair enough. you'll um Yeah, the the wood will have to be black moved a little bit towards you away from the door if you're just going to permit the little bit of a crack to let Lady G and Alessio through.

Speaker: But yes, that's perfectly fine. Not a problem on that. question as he lets the others through are we going out this way are we looking at going out another way I think we're going to need a bigger gap because I'm assuming the horses are bigger than you know about a foot shoulder width apart in which case we should barricade this door again then so they can't call for reinforcements is this the only way out

Speaker: I don't know if this is the only way out. Did I see another act exit from the top? You didn't see another exit from the top. I didn't see another exit top. also didn't see another exit from when you were scoping out the joint earlier.

Speaker: Looks like we're leaving this way. In which case we better keep the doors open. Yeah, for a hasty retreat.

Speaker: Alessio, can you help me move this? Yeah, of course. I mean you have yeah it takes

Speaker: okay but don't know why I'm doing this voice when I'm speaking in our heads. because that's much in character I don't like to drop character at all. I would like to athletically.

Speaker: i thought No, acrobatically. I'm going to acrobatically assist Caelan moving ah this log. And how are you acrobatically doing that? ah Like I'm saying I'm a feat in a tricky situation because it's quite slick and that kind of stuff and obviously using the ground and its conditions to help me move it ah smoothly and whilst performing an acrobatic stunt at the same time as per the yeah acrobatics check description. and So yeah did both of you using your strength can just slide this piece of wood kind of over.

Speaker: dex debt With dexterity I will do so, yes. Or yeah you could argue, if I'm going to use my hand sensibly, you could argue I'm using like sleight of hand to move it in such a way that makes it do certain things.

Speaker: Shut up, Will. Sleight of hand is using hands, and he's asking me to use hands right now, so it's fine. Don't put a face. It's definitely nothing to do with pickpocketing or some sort of close-up magic ledgerman stuff.

Speaker: I am picking the pocket of this. ah We shouldn't need this. we shouldn't trying to get back on track. Kalen's looking at the other. We shouldn't need this because of the weather, but there's no harm looking at Lady G half that and Kalen's just going to ah kneel down on the ground and he's going to grab a handful of dirt that's covered in water and hold it out in front of him. And he's going to get,

Speaker: Alessio and Lady G almost like they're in the middle of a circle and he puts his hand out. Just put your hand on top of mine.

Speaker: Why did you linger a gaze on me when you started this? Because you're old as fuck. Put your hand on top of mine. I'm ten seconds older than you, brother. She puts her hand on top. unless if You see the illusion warble as it kind of touches.

Speaker: And it's old as fuck, mania.

Speaker: And then um from near... Baroness Guinevere just kind of stands on top of it all as well. from uh they'll be included as well from cailin's chest is this kind of dark mossy green that starts to glow and then it follows down down his veins to his hand and it lights up the dirt and the mud and just starts to emanate that pulsing green and and as it washes over the hands of the others um cailin's just ah just done pass without trace long story short Caelan's cast color spray. Color spray. Chromatic orb. Oh, shit. Wrong one.

Speaker: Cool. Yeah, we're going stealth the shit out of this, Caelan. I figured you would do. Absolutely. um You'll believe Pass Without Trace is on all of you, so that's a straight plus 10 to any dexterity stealth rolls that we'll be making. It's an emanation now, BT-dubs, which means it originates from... Yeah, that's right. So if we stray any further than 30 feet from Caelan, we ain't got it no more.

Speaker: But I'm presuming at least for this next bit it's going be quite... Not huddled together, but yeah, in ah in close proximity to each other. I'm presuming we have a simple straight walk ah towards the back of the stable. That's what the map shows. Does the map show us that outside is it only inside you've done...

Speaker: What we're doing is Caelan's going to walk them to the south of that building, but we'll indicate where that window was. And so we'll be making sure to keep everyone's posture in good position um, would, would come with actually fuck that shit. Um, Caelan will beckon for you guys to follow me.

Speaker: and we'll walk out of view of that window, circumnavigate around. um What's the back of that stables looks like? If the door's facing the road and we've just kind of done a a small kind of 180 circumference deep south, what's the back look like?

Speaker: windows? What, on the barns? So my viewpoint up at the top was I saw the door to the barn on the roadside. Now I'm looking at the back of it. What am I seeing?

Speaker: It's just all sealed wood.

Speaker: it's ah These barns have not been made with any kind of windows or anything like that around there. um If you get close, you might be able to see some gaps in between the construction, much like with fence. hilarious. what you What you said and then what is on the map is two very different things that I found.

Speaker: Hang on, because i've I've refreshed it, but um yeah, that is not where you guys are. You guys technically are down here. is that there? Much further south.

Speaker: So where's the gate in relation to where we've just come in? Right behind us, I'm assuming. The the gate itself is like okay further down here. Okay. The residence is not on this map because it would have made it very, very large.

Speaker: So I've had to skip off the residence and basically put ah the barn and the two open field areas on the actual map itself. So ping me the barns. Yeah, I've barned one here.

Speaker: yep and barn two here. So one on the left, one on the right. Probably the barn-like structures. Yes. Yeah, but there's four squares. I wrote down two squares and a rectangle.

Speaker: Further north of these barns, that on the right-hand side is the open field. is what I got. You got your two barns, you got your fucking thing, i even put Caelan on the wall, and I put the centre road.

Speaker: It's very, very similar to that. Basically, these are open fields. at the back there is one that is, um, left for free roaming for the horses on that's on the right on the left is one that's kind of got a lot of training obstacles for horses like, uh, vaults.

Speaker: Um, there are a few hay bales, a few storage boxes, that type of thing, but they were out of sight when he was on the fence, but you do know that they're there. Um,

Speaker: The barn on the left, as you are coming up the path to the north, is where you were being shown the horses yesterday. Well, fuck it. Caelan's just going to go, we don't need to worry about the residence building. Looks like no one's in there. Just walk down the fucking road. We can go to the left-hand side. There's the barn.

Speaker: Has anyone got any means of making the horses quiet? i don't want to spook them. Alessio holds up the sack of apples and sugar. Yes. Ah, yeah, we can bludgeon them to death with those.

Speaker: ah Just a stealth check from all of you, please, quickly. Okay. going roll with this one. Adding our plus 10, of course, yes. Of course, adding your plus 10.

Speaker: This is part of your dexterity, so it should be really, really good. I was going to do it athletically, actually. I was just going to, like, muscle the darkness around myself. Lady G, what did you get?

Speaker: ah Lady G is still rolling because I'm using the feature she's all inside the map thing, and she's old, and I've clicked the button, and it still ain't working, and I closed my character sheet, and it's not working. So fuck this shit. i'm going to do it through the actual page instead. So come back to me in two seconds.

Speaker: Alessia, what did you roll? I rolled 13. ah that So with my check, that gives me a score of 23. Brilliant.

Speaker: Caelan, what did you roll? I rolled a natty 20 for a 26 plus the 10 is 36. I am a fucking fart in the wind, my guy. Fucking hell.

Speaker: I think it's up the highest roll we've ever actually had. must be up there. It must be up there. My perception could be 37 if I ever got a 10 on... the Yeah, no, this is like... Yeah, 36 is the highest I can do. 36 is fucking unbelievable. Hey, Lady G, what did you get? Yes, I managed to roll this in time. 15 plus 10. 25 each

Speaker: she's been I got 23 whilst rolling a four on a dice. okay Method. You rolled turds. I rolled decent. Eat shit. okay you all I can add my psychic knack to that if I want to. could is you You did 23, bitch. You've lost out to an old lady unless you would deal with it.

Speaker: if You are able to stealthily pass through the residence house. It seems quiet. Perfectly fine. You approach...

Speaker: The ah northern end of the pathway near where there are the large two barns. Now, the openings for which are actually kind of more closely to the fields rather than the house itself. so you're going to have to go in between the two barns in order to find the correct entrance way.

Speaker: That's it, Anessia. Are you approaching the barn on the left? um I'm approaching the one that we were showing the horses into, and then when we scoped this place, this area around, we worked out where the horses but were stable and that kind of stuff.

Speaker: That's fine. You approach the barn on the left, and it's very, very quiet. There's a few things kind of... um just left out from the day.

Speaker: But it's only got a low fence there, so you can quite easily kind of climb over it and head towards these doors that are connecting this outer area to the innards of the barn.

Speaker: Okay. um I'm going to hop over the fence and go towards the next barn doors.

Speaker: That's fine. You stand in front of the barn doors.

Speaker: Is there a gate that Lady G could open? Yes. Cool. She's going to open the gate. She's not hopping over shit.

Speaker: That's fine. Yours is a little bit further south. But yeah, you can open the gate and come through that way. Not a problem. Getting in. calls um alessio seeing as you are in front of the barn doors you put your hands in between them uh just ready to kind of slide open i wouldn't do that i wouldn't do that but i would i would very carefully take one and try and slide it carefully come i'm not not aragoning this shit opening them all really right yeah doing that

Speaker: i'm I'm going to very carefully so start to slide one just in case I feel any resistance to check whether it's locked or not. Fair enough. fair enough So you put your hands on one side of the barn door and just slowly start to slide it open. yeah You get open few centimetres, an inch, two inches.

Speaker: That's a lot. Before we end today's episode and find out exactly what's inside the barn. I hope it's horses. It's not horses. We're going to buy it. It's centaurs. There's a troll in there. It's a strange night for you to join us, Harry Potter. i guess i Oh, Bane! Provenzi!

Speaker: right, Callum, wrap us up. Thanks very much for listening. We will see you all next week.
