Speaker: Can't you just make some elaborate story that Lady Jean needs suitors and she's insatiable and just requires more and more... dick.

Speaker: Hello, everybody. you're Welcome to this episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are a live play 5.5e D&D podcast set in the magical home-brewed world of Aerith.

Speaker: I am Callum, and I am your DM for the session and future sessions on this part of the Winged Watch adventure. Joining with us tonight, playing the new Ranger Remy, we have Darren.

Speaker: Hello. Hello. Playing the human warlock Lady Lobelia of Alvaris Garden, Will. Hello. lo Playing the elf ranger Caelan, we have Ian.

Speaker: Hey, that's me. And playing the human bard Rogue, we have Alessio. Get out of there! Get out! I had to reword that because that went bit wrong. You did, yeah. Anyway, doesn't somebody catch us up on what happened on last week's episode? And I'm going to pick, because he's not been here ever, so why the fuck not, Darren! Nice. Hello, everybody. Let me do a recap for you. Did someone say Dragonborn and Gnome in a cell? Well, if you didn't, it's what you got anyway. pick up with Lady G and Alessio interrogating the Tempest. And like the Storm, he decides to stand true and tells them to go fuck themselves in a series of various ways. Eventually, though, he is either intimidated, deceived, or just genuinely convinced because persuasion, intimidation, and deception were all rolled to give them the information that they need. And they let him out of his cell, not before letting out their erstwhile...

Speaker: disappearing, small companion Remedius Montmilliban, Fizzle Bang the 10th. It then transpires that this little gnome is naked, save for his very natural little leaf that covers his gnome genitalia. They climb up the ladder and Remy fortunately finds his clothes. He also finds a flying rabbit who happens to be Folly Fizzle Bang the 10th.

Speaker: It then also transpires that in this room there are some seriously, seriously, seriously on point for our DM, absolutely brilliant homebrew weapons for us to utilise and terrorise his campaign. Oh, how the tables have turned. You can hear Mark and Danny somewhere leaping with glee. We get to ravage Callum's campaign with bullshit for once.

Speaker: Anyway, we move on and we leave said tower and we find ourselves going to a rather wonderful establishment where it turns out that Alessio is quite good at bullshitting his way into a position of privilege, which is much appreciated by Lady G who takes her wine and goes off for a bath.

Speaker: No such luck for Remy, however. He has to go and sleep in the barn, which he's frankly quite relieved about. And he's off to go and take a bath in the trough. Anyway, we then find ourselves following our erstwhile elf, who has been absent from this and keeping a watchful overview over the town whilst we make our way across. Well, we make our way across to this wonderful place of pillows.

Speaker: And this earthwild elf all all of a sudden hears, overhears while he's walking around that someone may be keeping an eye on us. So he decides to go and follow them. And with some passing without trace and some long striding, he finds himself able to machiavellianly insert himself into their establishment, their lair, jamming the door shut with an arrowhead.

Speaker: However, he is alone. His allies are weak and unable to assist. How will he get out of this one, listeners? Let's find out.

Speaker: And thank you very much for that, Darren. We will take up exactly with Caelan. Entering. This lair, this steel on the inside door, stone-walled, strongly built lair, where the only other companion who knows exactly where he is and what he might be about to face is Alessia.

Speaker: And as Caelan has described where he is, um ah wherever they are in this in this posh like suite that Lady G's got, Alessio's face will suddenly go very stark. And Caelan will hear, and and Lady G will hear in in the telepathic communication, Caelan, I need to stop right now, turn around, and walk away from there.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Good. Okay. Yeah. um I'll tell you more later, but yeah. Get out.

Speaker: And then we'll move over to Caelan. Caelan gets out. Opens the door. Out he pops. He's been with, he's been traveling with this guy for so long. If he says, get the fuck out, he's going to get the fuck out. He trusts him.

Speaker: And where would Cailin like to go after he's exited? Unfortunately. Seriously, Cailin. That's the unfortunately. He's going to go and fucking retrieve the trunk.

Speaker: ah where is it Where is it again? Is that the Whispering Bollocks? Whispering Pillow, yeah. Whispering Bollocks? There's no tavern called the Whispering Bollocks in Riverfold. He's going to the Whispering Tavern. um He's going to keep his his beady eyes out for the two fucking guards that...

Speaker: Alessio and Lady G took their images because he's still aware that that shit is a thing. um And that's it. That's that's Caelan. He's traveled way too long with Alessio and he's in the ranks of the winged watch being the professional that he is. If it was Nick's that would be a different thing. I'm sorry, listeners, because I dare say that you were like, just fucking get in there fuck shit up. And like, I hear you, but we've got to play the character and that's the character. So there we go.

Speaker: It's a very fair point. You take Alessio's words wisely and start heading back to the whispering pillow. Thank fuck I opened that. cake I made a point of keeping that door unlocked.

Speaker: Jam the arrowhead in there. This is fucking stayed open. yeah Oh, he um he makes sure to... leave no trace and obviously he's got past no trace but he's taken the broken bits of arrows and everything i think that's important to remember he is taking everything and yeah there you go so you are leaving no trace literally yeah that's fine you make your way over to the whispering pillow i think at this stage as well how long does your minor illusion last lady g what illusion are you talking about the one that you put on the trunk

Speaker: Because you turned it into a rotting deer carcass. That went time ago. a trunk that's been there for possibly like two hours by this point. Didn't know if what the time of it was. You start making your way back to the Whispering Pillow, Caitlin.

Speaker: You spy Lady G's trunk. Jesus. It is turned upside down. Ah. The contents splattered all over the floor because it no longer looks like a rotting deer car. Clearly somebody has opened it up thinking, my goodness, there must be something very valuable in here.

Speaker: And it's upside down and found nothing. And then walked off.

Speaker: Caitlin's going to repack the trunk. and then hefted it up and walk with it.

Speaker: As you are repacking, see... There's no point with Passive Outtrace. Are you fucking serious? What do I see? Hang on. Hang on. As you are repacking, your eyes glance into the window of the Whispering Pillow, and just as promised, you see Tempest on the inside.

Speaker: oh

Speaker: Just in case. You do see Tempest on the inside. he I had no dealing with Tempest. No, no, no. He doesn't know you. ah You don't know him, not really. But you have seen each other just since he was leaving the hunting lodge.

Speaker: He advised to the rest of your comments he was going through a whispering pillow and you see him there. We see where? Yes. Did by himself.

Speaker: He had sat making notes in a book. Okay. um you pick up the remains of Lady G's trunk and her effects and her delicates and many other things that are probably in there that Will hasn't thought of yet, but will do by the time you get back to the ah four poster.

Speaker: And start hefting it back, and it's a long trek. It's a long trek, and eventually you arrive at the four poster tavern. So where Caelan was quite careful before with like tire and that shit's out the window. He's fucking, he's now just locked this trunk again, having...

Speaker: gone through the mud picked up all the fucking weird crusty ass underwear ah just fucking like he's a bit done now he's a bit done in lady g in a g-string so fucking like nah so he's he just opens the door i knew he'd say it He opens the door and has got mud all over his boots and just the trunk is covered in mud. If this is a nice establishment, he is not a welcomed guest.

Speaker: But he does sludge his way to the front desk with purpose. As the door swings open and you are almost heavy-footed, heavy-handed and everything else are heavy, trudging your way to that front desk, you see...

Speaker: The same human stood there, although you wouldn't actually. Jerome. You see somebody stood there who Lady G has dubbed Jerome, but Caitlin has no idea. And you've been told the name ah Lady Orchid, I believe, was the cover story, wasn't that correct, Will?

Speaker: I believe the the exact name that we gave over was the Masked Orchid. Masked Orchid, thank you. Caitlin will know that.

Speaker: The guy on the front desk looks you up and down, Caelan. think not. Yeah, mask orchid.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: Trunks may stay there. You know.

Speaker: Yeah, can you just let her know that the trunk's here? And going to quickly double clap and a burly gentleman is going to come out. Would you please advise the good lady?

Speaker: Some individual is here with a trunk for her. no, no. Advice that the trunk is here.

Speaker: Advice her that the trunk is here.

Speaker: And he's going wander off. And he's going to start heading towards you, Lady G. I presume you are residing in your room at this stage. Absolutely recumbent, probably feeding herself. simplyly Recumbent is such a word. Well done.

Speaker: uh oh yeah she's she's in her element 100 your your room is spacious you are on a really thickened feathered mattress plush velvet style bedding drapes everywhere all purple with gold trim and there is the lightest of three knocks at the door for You may enter.

Speaker: Alessia will go and open the door and be like, you rang. off

Speaker: I knocked.

Speaker: There is a trunk for the good lady. Ah, good. Be a good fellow and could you bring it up, please? And I'm going to of course give him a gold. And he will take the gold pocketed. Of course, sir. And he kind of bows to you, heads down. Caelan, you've been waiting there with his trunk just while they've gone to... Yeah, he sat on the trunk. Lady G would just kind of in your head say...

Speaker: Are you hoping to stay at this residence also, Caelan? Or do you plan to slum it outside with the little hairy man on the hay?

Speaker: What's the plan? Where is everyone else? ah Myself and Alessia were very comfortable here. I believe Remy has taken himself outside like a dog. Remy's in the barn. um The guy wouldn't let him in. ah Yeah. Sorry, guys.

Speaker: Well, this place is being watched. You guys in particular being watched. So I'm going to station myself outside. Yeah. yeah I think I should probably explain that. um We might try and convene all four of us so I can recreate this connection so we can all hear and I can try and fill you in. But yeah, well, do you want me to go get Remy?

Speaker: Pardon? you want me to go and get Remy? Yeah, we've all got to be in the same place, though. So I think if you give us some time, Lady G and I may try and... Can't you just make some elaborate story that Lady G needs suitors and she's insatiable and just requires more and more... Dick.

Speaker: Can I hear this at the same time? Yes, of course we can, can't I? Dick re require... Dick. Oh, Caelan.

Speaker: Caelan, Caelan, Caelan. I'll go and get Remy. It's not quite how this works, but we'll come up with something. They won't let you in, but maybe they'll... We'll see what I can do.

Speaker: And Alessio will... ah Right. He goes over to Lady G. Right. So we need to get the four of us together so we can perhaps converse about how to do this.

Speaker: Bear with me, I think i have an idea. And she will go and I'm assuming there'll be some sort of like silk dressing gown within the room or or some such. Oh, absolutely. Not so much a dressing gown, it's more of a robe.

Speaker: Perfect. a thing She will envelop herself in this and she will kind of take herself down to reception, if you like.

Speaker: ah Is the one that I call Jerome still behind the desk? The one you called Jerome is still manning the front desk at this stage. Probably only been maybe an hour or so while Caelan's been off on his own adventure.

Speaker: Okay. And she will just say, Jerome, you will spare no expense for my visit. You will allow my suitors to progress if they so choose. And I think you will advise your big burly men to keep watch outside my door for unsavory types.

Speaker: And she's going to say all this whilst casting suggestion to them. Again, sans features of the spell. Fair enough, fair enough. And do I make a roll for that? Wisdom save, please, and I'll cross my fingers back here.

Speaker: And I will use my final luck point to give him disadvantage on the roll. Disadvantage on the roll. Snap.

Speaker: He gets a 10. That's a failure. Eight hours, my guy as I concentrate upon this spell and kind of nod and just make my way, saunter my way back to ah my room.

Speaker: Fair enough. So you suggested that we just word it for me again, exactly as you did to Jerome, please. I believe it was, you will spare no expense on myself, allow ah my suitors kind of within and ah ensure that your kind of burly men basically stay watch outside my room.

Speaker: Something that it was... I don't the exact wording I used, but it was of those two things. Close enough. I know there was a watch at the room, sparing no expense, and obviously, so you didn't say that's fine. Perfect.

Speaker: You come down and... As you... The burly man is basically waiting... um ah Not waiting. He's only just really gotten down there a little bit before you but obviously seize the trunk.

Speaker: And you've given this instruction to Jerome. um I'm going to stick with that now. I like it. ah It's grown on me. And capable suggesting... going look towards the burly man and all he's going to do is click his fingers, gesture you down to the trunk...

Speaker: and then gesture upstairs in a very kind of commanding thing. And he, unless Cailin comes off the trunk, he is going to pick the trunk and Cailin up at the same time to basically take them upstairs. Yeah, Cailin's cool with this.

Speaker: That starts to go up. They are escorted upstairs. It's not the only thing. The trunk is placed outside with Caden very delicately just outside your room.

Speaker: um There's a few things that happen off screen at this moment. Remy. another well-dressed person comes to you into the hay barn, ah probably just a couple of minutes after this has happened.

Speaker: can i Can I just slightly regale with what I would have been doing whilst whilst all this is happening? So tell remy Remy would have come round to the barn and you just had this rabbit squeaking at me. Don't you fucking be starting getting all angry and funny with me. up dog don't Don't you making that beep noise. I do not like that noise that these rabbits make. I will turn you back into a raptor tomorrow.

Speaker: Don't be complaining to me. God damn it. I spent three days and inside a cage with nothing but my own feces for company. And I'm going to turn around and just look at the barn and go, ah who, who, who, who?

Speaker: Hello, anybody home? I'm going to cast speak with animals as I say you that and I'm going to shout into the barn.

Speaker: Okay, you shout in the barn and you just... No response comes back to you aside from ah folly.

Speaker: Who are you talking to? Well, this ain't your home, is it? So shush. I'm trying to see if what I am imposing on anybody who else might most necessarily live in this establishment.

Speaker: Yeah, well, you know... Hello! Anybody here? Anybody here? Anybody they't hear he's It's not an actual echo. He's just saying that. is there Is there a barrel or a trough that's like empty that I could... die There's like a half barrel in there that most ah people would probably fill up for ah horses and smaller creatures. Wonderful. creature I'm going to go over to that and I'm going to cast Create Water on it, please. and I'm going to fill it up with water. I'm going to take my clothes off and I'm going to jump in and go in a bath in about a month. I absolutely stink.

Speaker: And as I get in, I'm going to, he's going to sit in a way where like his legs kind of go over the side and his arms go over the side. And he's just going to start, he's going to pull out of his rucksack like a a kind of rustic sponge and just start scrubbing himself. And as he does that, bits of brittle and dirt come out that are both general crap that's covered across him. And also as well, just part of him being a forest gnome. And as he does that, he eventually, well the like a heave, pulls his scale mail into the tub with him.

Speaker: And as he's going around and cleaning certain bits, he'll touch like all the different areas he's from and he'll just recite to himself. Oh, the sands of Dralak shine, the sea of sleek-guards bronze.

Speaker: Shadowmen's castles made of scales, dashed, colourised, tall and old. Tree of the First World sits there in the sanguine lands. There's a crisper ruling you.

Speaker: I don't know anything about Wild Heart cause I have never been there. The Hintian Empire's torn in two. Though its seas are nice and blue.

Speaker: I'm back to cleaning the first bit, which is from Drylac. And he'll just keep repeating that as he's going around and scrubbing all the bits of his armor that has like been amalgamated from these places.

Speaker: um And as he does that, he's just going to reach into his pouch and go, i assume while you're in that form, a carrot is more palatable than a or some folks are they're at a damn raw steak.

Speaker: god That stinks. And he'll lob that away. And the folly will run towards the raw steak. Possibly out of almost an instinct type of thing, but he kind of sniffs it and then comes running back like, yep, me no like, no like, nope. Well, there you go. Have a carrot. that relatively fresh, fresh you can be when he's been in a pouch for three days.

Speaker: And he's just going to continue to scrub himself and and um really enjoy the but the feeling of being in a tub. And even for a ranger, because obviously they'd been on the road for for some time and he's been incapacitated and locked in a... This is his first bath in a couple of months, and he's he's enjoying that. And then he'll just start again as he continues to scrub his armor in the same water.

Speaker: ah the sea of sleek goddess bronze. Share the men's castles made of scales. Das Calrhy's tree is tall and whole. The Hentian Empire's in two.

Speaker: In the sanguine hands, the rib-cris-crow rule. I always do this little bit less because I don't know anything in about Wild Heart. And he's just going to keep scrubbing it.

Speaker: and And that's effectively what he would do in this tub just just until someone comes and knocks him out of it. He's just really, really enjoying being in a bath.

Speaker: And he would do he would also be doing that, and he'd occasionally stop as people wander by, just to glance at them, because he knows they're in uncharted territory. So he's trying to look inconspicuous and and and trying to look kind of like at ease, but also as well as just keeping an eye on his surroundings.

Speaker: As he takes out his pipe and starts smoking it as well. Oh, the trail of sweet god's bronze, the ancient empire sits in two. so much waters i did brown I just said that bit twice.

Speaker: You're doing this singing and you don't really get many of the posher people coming in at the back of this building where this barn is. and You do occasionally get the odd ah servant, manservant, but none of them really pay you any mind.

Speaker: They all got their own things to do. You you glance a couple other people ah washing down horses, feeding them, and they're taking care of general business. Your compatriot folly, as you are bathing, he's kind of got ah the carrot in between his front and back legs. So he's kind of lying on his back, and this carrot is held by his front and back legs, and he's just kind of gnawing at it slowly.

Speaker: going through and you're able to get a nice bit of a, um, almost of rest and relaxation while you're cleaning your armor, scrubbing yourself, uh, and all this. and I like to think you've gotten to the stage at the moment where literally you just kind of pipe on smoking and you almost sprawled out in this half a barrel full of water.

Speaker: Yeah, trying he's he's really trying to be observant, looking conspicuous. But do you know when you've experienced something and you try and not think about it, his capture, and the way he got caught, guilt that he may have compromised the mission, that the fact that they find themselves in an urban area where they would normally be in the wilderness.

Speaker: These thoughts niggle and they keep coming into the back of his head. um So he's feeling a bit of guilt. He's feeling a bit of shame that he was taken in his environment. Like he he he exists in the wild and the fact that he was caught and that he endangered folly and he's put the je he's he's potentially compromised the mission. He doesn't really know. what what are the ramifications of him being captured yet. So he's it's a mixture of of of basically gallows humour, putting on a brave face, trying to be inconspicuous, but also feeling a bit guilty.

Speaker: And in the time that you're doing this, you hear a few people talking because obviously there's been a rather large fire in town. So some of the servants that you're hearing are talking about the fire that's happened at the hunting lodge.

Speaker: It just seemed to have kind of

Speaker: took a large portion of it to ash and nothing and you also hear that they're looking for the people responsible still they've not found it you've not been able to pinpoint any descriptions of who they might be looking for or what the people who are doing the searching are looking for but you're picking up on these few little things so you're still kind of active and you're probably doing that for a good Yeah, I'd probably say about 30 minutes to an hour. You kind of rest, recharged, bathed before a well-dressed man approaches you.

Speaker: Excuse me, sir. Are you with the orchid?

Speaker: Immediately, still pretending like he hasn't seen this person. all the Caesar, the Seeker, the Bronze. He'll glance up at him. Immediate insight check.

Speaker: Who the fuck is this? Yeah, go for an insight check.

Speaker: Seems cool. Eight. To be honest, you can't find anything suspicious about him. He's well-dressed, he's well-spoken, he's holding himself in a very delicate and posh manner.

Speaker: You may or may not know who Lady Orchid is, um or the Orchid as he referred to, ah the manse.

Speaker: I don't know who that is.

Speaker: Then my apologies for interrupting you, sir. need you to walk away. You were in the room when she announced herself, you remember that. wrong

Speaker: Darren. oh we see yes you got I don't think he knows. So to clarify, yes, Darren, you were in but the reception area when ah Lady G referred to herself as Orkin. If you recall, I was bewildered and had no idea what was going on.

Speaker: I wondered if that was something that was playing with or if you were just trying to kind of blase past because you really don't want to go in to the building. You're not sure why people are coming you. Recklessness and doing things reckless and not being careful have just put him in a cage with his own shit for three days. So he's also as well quite happy to... It's a mixture of ignorance and caution that has promoted that response.

Speaker: Okay, that's fine, that's fine. so You can basically watch this person. He goes around to some other people asking about ah the orchid, but everybody kind of turns their head and he starts to ah wander off. So we'll move back to ah the other three that, at the moment, um if I may, I think would all be in the room of Lady Gardan at this moment. Kaylin, after being carried up...

Speaker: um ah Lady G, as per your request, there are two very burly men stored outside your front door at this current stage, and your trunk and its contents have been taken away for cleaning and will be returned to you shortly.

Speaker: ah That's so much better than what I was expecting. That's so much better. And she will communicate within the heads of the two that are with them rather than externally because she knows there's people directly outside the door and just say, The person behind reception is under a charm of my making for the next several hours. We have guards outside of the door And they will spare no expense for us. We are safe, I believe, in this room.

Speaker: Feel free to, well, take your chambers, not my own, and make of it what you will. i assume Remy will be up with us shortly, um after I did say that the suitors that I had should be kind of ah welcome. So, when he's here, you can redo your mind thing, Alessio.

Speaker: Good, yeah, that'd be great. Yeah, when when when he's up here. um Yeah. ah Caelan, welcome for getting out there quickly. That was ah good.

Speaker: Thanks for telling me too. Yeah. And thank you for bringing the trunk. But next time, please take greater care. They're having to wash most of the contents.

Speaker: Caelan. This is the second time, Caelan. You haven't quite followed the exact instructions. It's rather disappointing. I do expect better of you.

Speaker: I'm sorry. you are forgiven for now, but do not do it again. Right. um

Speaker: If you wish to wait for Remy, you're probably kind of sat around for Bart, you know, maybe half an hour and there's been no sign of him. He has not come up. So it's off to you if you want to call it quits and just talk amongst yourselves. I think he'll get that that he's dead. dead again. Maybe he's been kidnapped again. um Unless he'll be like, shall I go and ah get some refreshments brought up and I'll then go find a Remy and see where he has...

Speaker: sequestered himself. He's probably talking to a squirrel or a rat or a spider. Who knows? You could, yeah, certainly just go to Jerome and say the lady requests more grapes or some such. He'll get it sorted for us. you know I will, I will, I will, I will request that for you. Um, and, uh, Alessia will go downstairs to see Jerome.

Speaker: Jerome is still there.

Speaker: My lady requires some refreshments taken up to her ah sweet ah fresh grapes, green ones, not red, no pips, and a seafood platter and caviar.

Speaker: I shall certainly see what we have to accommodate the request, sir. Thank you. And I need to go find the other servant and take him up the stairs. I believe he was um residing in the barn.

Speaker: However, I have sent somebody in search of him, and they have come back, I'm afraid, empty-handed, so he might have moved on. I'll go find him, and if need be, I'll give him a good beating. It's fine. You know what these lower servants are like.

Speaker: Of course. Would sir be interested and stick for the beating? i No, I thought right. I like to the back of my hand, really feel it. Traditional, sir.

Speaker: I'm going to go out round back to find Remy. I have to talk about beating his lesser servants.

Speaker: While that's been happening, DM, you've lived with cats before, right? As in, like you've you've had cats for pets. I have had a cat. Wonderful. You ever tried to give it a bath?

Speaker: Yes. How's it gone? Not very well. He quite literally ran on the walls. I'm now trying to give Folly a bath. Because he also smells, because he's also been in the tower. So i what during that time, I've now got out the tub and I'm trying to put the rabbit in.

Speaker: make ah jet Generally, this is from personal experience. Make a grapple check for me.

Speaker: That's just basic strength, isn't it? It's a saving throw on the behalf of the ah thing that's being grappled. Well, I've rolled a crit for whatever i i dont know I was meant to roll, but I have rolled a crit. You roll and I can test for grapple. This is not-quite-literal bloodbath. ah this You...

Speaker: surprise folly in the middle of him eating his carrot with a good strung grip around both sides, being very, very careful, just kind of grab under the paws of it so they're not trying to flail about and scratch anything. You almost kind of dunk them in straight away. And as soon as they enter that water, there is thrashing, there is writhing, but you are there.

Speaker: with your brush still just trying to scrub away some of the excess muck, dirt, and smell that's on this creature.

Speaker: Wonderful. Yeah, I would have built myself up to that. it would have been It's been a couple of months for him as well, and he's been a raptor in that time, and he has had his head in some muck, and it's like, we're going inside there at some point.

Speaker: he also needs a bath because he's going to stink. And as you, as you know, you've tried to bathe a car cat is literally when they're distracted, pick them up and put them in as quick as you can and then scrub them and then let them go because it that, that thing's going to kick off.

Speaker: yeah And I like to think that as Alessio has kind of turned round the back, you he he comes into the barn and sees you bathing folly, but you're still singing the same kind of song that you were before, but obviously with the odd kind of struggle into it. not haveer have that made a gold And you obviously hear but to Remy singing and can find him quite easily because you're still hearing the sound of thrashing water going off. Drellic sansa.

Speaker: Alessio sort of comes in the door and sort of looks around and sort of coughs loudly. um' Oh, Alessio, you were... didn't see you there, and I'll let Folly go. He'll probably immediately just spring out of bath.

Speaker: He springs out of the bath runs halfway down the barn and just does that shake thing to kind of get all the excess water off. Aware that there may be others in in the area, I think you'll find it's Reginald, remember? Anyway...

Speaker: The Lady Orchid wishes to see you. Follow me.

Speaker: ah yes Reginald. Who is ever the Lady Orchid? Follow me.

Speaker: Anleto will come. I'll find gold in and I'll follow. And Remy followed and you were able to ah venture up.

Speaker: um As we walk past the main the main desk, as just as we're going in the door, Alessio will be like Jeremy going, roll with this. And as we go past the front door, past Jerome, i'm just going to give Jeremy a clip around the ear.

Speaker: And don't make me come after you again. There's a slight look from Jerome and just as this happens, but it's not a judgmental one. It's just like a um Almost like an approving reaction that Jerome has.

Speaker: Ow! Sorry, my lord. I'm i'm not a lord, remember. I'm the master servant. Carry on. Come along. I remember seeing him black at her. I'm a duke, not a lord. smacks the servant.

Speaker: Here I have a purse of monies, which I'm not going to give to you. You make your way upstairs, and as you enter the Lady G's room, there is already, at bequest of you,

Speaker: red wine, white rind, rosé, four glasses, and just currently at the moment... plucked, pipless, all green grapes, a whole bowl of them, rather lard, probably like a foot wide bowl of these single individual grapes.

Speaker: And just as the, I will advise you, just as the conversation kind of keeps going off between you ah all in Lady G's room, there's going to be the odd knock at the door and there's going to be a plethora of like seafood that starts coming through. You get lobsters, you get crab,

Speaker: um you get saucers for all the dippings as well, cockles, mussels, small portions of caviar just all individually put out. But that's probably going to be going off over the next half hour anyway.

Speaker: diging and Dig in, dig in, help yourself. ah ah as As they finally um get there, Alessia will let them come to everyone's room and just and and shut the door behind him.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: um And I will cast, using a one of my Psychonic Energy dice, I will cast Psychic Whispers and give us a bit of privacy. Cool. So you reinvigorate, rake your roll, observe.

Speaker: I will do so. How many hours do you get? Yeah. We're getting very much into the late afternoon at this stage, so this one will probably sort you out for the rest of the day.

Speaker: Depending on the roll, of course. Yeah. Which I'm still waiting for. never know if you will find it so hard to roll. I'm trying to remember what the dice roll is. Is it a D4? I thought it was like... No, it's a D6. Darn.

Speaker: ah

Speaker: We'll get five hours of this bitch, even when we're asleep. Ooh, that's definitely going to be enough for the rest of the day. um Excellent. and So I will recast Psychic Whispers, and all of a sudden we now have our group chat reactivated, um as it were.

Speaker: As soon as Remy feels that, he'll go, oh, it's good to be back, and I'm real sorry that I got caught. I thought I knew the land, and I didn't. Next thing I knew, was in a cage. Well, uh,

Speaker: And no mission comes first, and I'm obliged to you.

Speaker: Well, it you are on the route, so it's no real, i suppose, extra effort on our part, apart from, you know, sieging an enemy stronghold, assassinating several guards with wit and guile and pinpoint accuracy of arrows, subterfuge,

Speaker: ah Then there's just the matter of having you revived by releasing another prisoner. It's no no big effort, Remy. It is honestly not a problem. Well, that sounds like quite a big effort, but I'm grateful all the same.

Speaker: I mean, I bled twice. But yeah, we're all good.

Speaker: Don't do it again is, I believe, the short version. Well, listen, I think... ah Foraging for food is now a two-man operation. No more doing that on my own.

Speaker: We still have tomorrow. Tomorrow is the meeting time. That is when we need to meet them. Or at least that is when the crossing is to happen. So at least we have time. At least we're resting in, and he looks around, rather a extravagant

Speaker: accommodation. So, you know. And you will be best to rest up and conserve your strength for tomorrow. I fear we may come across more brigands on our ventral.

Speaker: um did you Did you get to kill the folk that captured me? Oh, we killed a lot of them. Like, like we stabbed two in the tavern behind the whispering pillow.

Speaker: like like There were lots of bodies left behind at the the the tavern place. so I wanted to be known and on record that I personally stabbed no one.

Speaker: Nor did I personally kill a single soul. My hands are clean in this mess. Lady G's are not. but Anyway... um You don't know what the ones that took me.

Speaker: I mean, they had you. And i'd'd'd i'd I'd used some contacts and he lots of looks towards Caelan as they're still talking psychically, which is where where you went resides. I have some contacts and they told me where they had taken people or where people being being kidnapped on the road were being taken. And that is where we surmised you were. And thankfully that lead panned out.

Speaker: Well, I'm are grateful and sure looking forward to getting to stick a knife into some of these folk myself.

Speaker: Yes. Caelan, you said that they knew we were here. Was it the people going into the place you went to? Yes. Damn it.

Speaker: Why? What? It's a ah contact I've known. He basically runs the criminal gangs around here.

Speaker: i see. And would they be so brazen as to openly attack this establishment? I mean, I guess if if they think we're worth enough in these times, they might be able to convince Jerome to split the gold and let him get away with or at least follow us when we leave.

Speaker: It's worth us being aware of. Should be able to put them off.

Speaker: Yeah. I can tell you that we have seven hours remaining of protection here so long as I remain awake for that time.

Speaker: so that'll get us part way through the night. Okay. Are many of you folk able to rest up and recuperate in a shorter amount of time than a full night's sleep?

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: I see. didn't want to be racist because this is the pointy ears. It's the the elven heritage, is it not? Yes. Who don't be racist, but... am of a certain age.

Speaker: i got a question. Who are these folk? um And why is it a problem that they're interested in us?

Speaker: They're a criminal organization. well my but Well, unless we're in Sleetgaard, I'd hate to break it to you, but so are we. So why is it a problem that they're interested in us?

Speaker: Because we're pretending to be very rich people and they like money.

Speaker: I ain't got no money.

Speaker: We're staying in the poshest place in the town. They think or we have money. you they you're right we have Do they jeopardize the mission? That's what I'm getting at.

Speaker: and If they try to come for us, potentially, it's it's ah it's a complication rather than a jeopardization. we can deal with it. I can deal with it. Are you saying that we just leave this time When we leave, we make ourselves look destitute?

Speaker: Similar to how we arrived? Yeah, I mean, that should no problem at I mean, we can just we can get out of here. as long As long as they don't come in the night, we're fine. And if they do, we'll defend ourselves and we'll kill them and my contact will get over it.

Speaker: Hmm. And the burly ones at the door should help too. Yeah. Good. Very good.

Speaker: Well, on the morrow we hopefully end this potential plight to this kingdom.

Speaker: In all honesty, we don't entirely... Well, we know somewhat of what they're trying to do. We know somewhat of where they're crossing. Is the plan shock and awe? Do you intend to overthrow this caravan of nasties with sheer might?

Speaker: I guess, I mean, Cain will be able to advise best on this, but I imagine we get to the crossing and find a point where the caravan, depending on how many wagons there are, will be going the slowest and surprise them.

Speaker: Yeah. he looks can also say look to We can weaken any strongholds, any bridges.

Speaker: We need to get there before everyone else, and we need to act for connoissance, create some traps if possible. Which leads me, I'm so sorry, it leads me to believe that perhaps we should try resting early this afternoon slash evening and leave these lodgings in the dark of the night.

Speaker: I'll go with that. in the darkest point after after it's gone midnight before the dawn. When it gets darkest, I'd be best. Either might then be worth keeping within proximity of each other, but he he'll gesture to Alistair Lady G. You two taking the role because you're pretty good at being inconspicuous, and me and Caden here can just be off to take to the wild to just keep a reconnaissance.

Speaker: i I don't think we should split up. think we should rest here, where it's comfortable. I'm not saying we split up. I'm just saying we we we make sure there's enough distance between us so that we have all our bases covered. Something off the road and something on it.

Speaker: what What, now or later? No, when we leave. Oh, oh. we'll we'll We'll probably sneak out and once we're out of the town, we can look like look as rough as anything. We don't need to keep these disguises up.

Speaker: Yes, I'm inclined to agree. Can anyone drive a carriage?

Speaker: No. Blast. Side saddle it is. i mean, we can give it a go. We don't have horses, Lady Jean. Why not?

Speaker: We've not shopped for any. We have money, do we not? I'll go down to the front desk, ask him to acquire us. There is a stables. Remy was in the stables. Remy, were there horses in the stables? No, the stables empty. There ain't any folks staying here apart from us.

Speaker: We've got lots of money. It's not even ours. Let's go buy some horses, put them in the stables and disappear at midnight. I'll go down and talk to Jerome and get that sorted before he rests.

Speaker: Actually, he should spare no expense. So he could certainly, if we pay the money for it, be able to get us some horses. i mean, he's got a blank IOU. So, you know, he's got that promissory note. He can just claim the funds back from that.

Speaker: He's also very much under my spell in a very literal sense. Yeah, okay. Okay, so I'll go range horses. Anything else?

Speaker: I suppose our food, we have provisions. We've got provisions, we've got supplies. ah Does anyone have anything to ambush with? Per chance, I don't know, caltrops, were they on horseback?

Speaker: Should sort the situation. do we need to go sharply? I beg your pardon? Do some of us need to go out and get supplies before the night? wouldn't mind getting some more arrows.

Speaker: How many do you have? I've got seven left. Yes, if there are eight enemies, you will need more.

Speaker: That's by that true. By that metric, I should go get some more crossbow boats as well. um ah In terms of scaring those horses, I have the, well, Folly here will be back in a predatorial farm as a velociraptor tomorrow, and horses will be able to sense that, and they are won't enjoy it.

Speaker: I thought you were going to offer a solution. or I am. What I'm saying is... You paused as if you were going to... When when we when we when we fly up but when we find the caravan, what what I can do is is I can take care of Spook and their horses.

Speaker: Right. But what about horses? I appreciate that. Oh, he won't. you do gold come on, Alessio. You've travelled with Farley before. he's He's smart enough to not do anything to spook your horses.

Speaker: That's right. I was just checking. clicking Okay. ah Right. So horses, um I assume, ah Lady G, that you will want to stay here while we shop?

Speaker: Absolutely. I am in my element, dear Alessio. And these lobsters are not going to eat themselves. Do you need anything?

Speaker: Uh, well, perhaps more cutlery. i don't wish to reuse ah from the surf to the turf.

Speaker: I meant from town. I see, of course. Well, I'm not exactly the um ambushing type. I don't intend to get dirty, like I say, laying caltrops. I'm happy to supervise and sit back and watch and maybe, I don't know, conjure an illusion here or there.

Speaker: But no, I require nothing. Okay. That is fine. So you've got guards outside the door for a few hours. That's good. We can dip into town, the three of us.

Speaker: Excellent.

Speaker: Plan? Plan. Plan. Agreed. You just had to say plan, Remy. Goodness. Oh. right Plan.

Speaker: but let's let's Let's go. Okay. We'll get this done. The quicker we get out, the quicker we get back, we can get rested and we can leave in the luodler in the night.

Speaker: Yes. I'm trying to work out when I shall rest because I must keep concentrating on my spell over that receptionist.

Speaker: o

Speaker: Anyway, that's for me to think about. Never mind.

Speaker: What are you waiting for? Go, be gone. Scoot. Scram. Alessio gets up and gesticulates her following. yep how many How many lobsters are there? at Four.

Speaker: I'll grab one as I'm going out the door. I'm going slap your hand. everybody.

Speaker: May I please take a lobster? You may, now that you have asked and used your manners, Remy.

Speaker: He'll grab the one that was slapped out of his hand and just brush it off and go, apologies, and break out the door and just... yeah

Speaker: You head downstairs, you go past Jeremy, who's still just on guard. jerome Was that Jerome's brother? Jerome. chap robs jerome we've got We've got the night manager on now. Rob's up on the roof.

Speaker: ah There it is. Thank you. Well played. I will i will come down and... ah and and touch a joke My lady would request that as part of our promissory note, ah could you acquire four horses for us to be in the stables?

Speaker: I could, of course, acquire horses from stables for Four of you, say? Four, yes, please. and As to what quality would my lady like? ah Well, the best you can get in the time frame.

Speaker: Good sir. I'm within certain conditions able to acquire anything. i mean, anything you can get in the next couple of hours.

Speaker: I believe we could secure some wands of very high quality, but unlike myself, but only for the good Lady G. I don't believe the ah and people who look after the horses would accept um the note as we have in good faith.

Speaker: We are more a pay now and you get the goods. What about if we were to knock a horse off and he'll just say telepathically, don't matter if they can't get me one because I can rap folly. Okay, we'll now acquire a fine horse for the lady and two normal horses for myself and the others you can share.

Speaker: Very good, sir. If that is your request, that will be... I believe about 550 gold pieces. Lady Orchid has requested this.

Speaker: But of course, we we will but sort it, but I'm afraid on this point, payment must be made up front. As I said, unfortunately, not everybody is a good relationship with Lady G as she has with our establishment and myself.

Speaker: Lady Orchid, thank you. ah With this establishment and myself.

Speaker: They would take such things. Of course, of course, of course. And I will count out. ah ah How about I give you 300 now and then 200 when the horses arrive?

Speaker: I suppose for the good lady, it is a possibility. There is the 300 that was gifted to me earlier. I could use that, I'm sure. Of course, anything for the lady.

Speaker: um for Before this transaction happens, I'm sorry, this is I don't want you to belt me, but this is why the lady employed me. We would like a look at these horses and where we might find them first, just to make sure they're of order for Lady G, because I don't want her hitting me after you belted me earlier.

Speaker: And I'll just say telepathically, if we're leaving in the dead of the night, if we know where we are, We can just take them. Our needs must.

Speaker: Your servant does make a ah good point. And you see his arm just kind of slowly back down to his side. He's always ready to slap you himself. If you wish, I can get somebody to escort you to the same. You may pick your own.

Speaker: Excellent. We do need to travel into town to gain some supplies for my lady before we travel tomorrow on the morrow. So yes, that'd Of course. going to clap his hands.

Speaker: Julian! Julian! And again, and the this is another kind of really, really a buff human who's bursting out of the shirt.

Speaker: Our guests need the finest horses ah secured immediately. Please do escort them. Keep them safe. I will expect them back shortly.

Speaker: Okay. He responds. Please follow me, sir. Of course. And... He holds the door open for you both to walk through and then closes it after you have. And um basically takes you to the northeast exit of the town where there is like a ah little stable area where horses are bought, rented, sold,

Speaker: um and looked after and cared for while people who are visiting the city can store them.

Speaker: There's this brief conversation that happens, and he then gestures you into a rather large stable on the right.

Speaker: You wished for one of the finest horses for the good lady, and then two of a lesser standard for yourself and your colleague. Is that correct?

Speaker: That's correct. then please, these are some of the finest horses we have available. You'll see a complete array of about five different war horses.

Speaker: As you do that, I will go, i will take care of this. lady has employed me to take care of her hospitality and transport. I will deal with this if you don't mind. And telepathically, I will say, I'll keep him distracted with the horses, scout this place to see how easy it will be to take them during the night.

Speaker: So I will then take him to one side and go, which one which one then do you recommend for the ladies? I take him to one side, having said to those two, scout this place. see yeah Because obviously the wing watch, if it can keep 300 gold, it can use that for other things. So we can get these horses with ease.

Speaker: We ain't paying for them. No, that's fine enough. Okay. Do a um deception check for me, I think, on this one then.

Speaker: I'd also like to throw in an animal handling, if that's okay. Like, that's kind of like, ah because i I'm obviously proficient with animals. But I'll do deception first. We'll do the deception first. How's a crit? How's a natural 20 on the deception? 21 total.

Speaker: That's not one off a natural crit. That is a natural crit. So that's always very nice. Thank you very, very much. um well no but you still roll the highest you can shut the hell up um and just to just so i can properly bullshit this man i'd now like throw in my animal handling so i can see what i know about the horses so i can go oh that's a fine looking palfrey you know you know what i mean okay do your animal handling for me

Speaker: uh that's a nine so i'd say that's a fine looking palfrey about a pig ah Right, so you go over and you start picking on all these things that you think are important to a horse, but they're important on Velociraptor instead.

Speaker: That is the kind of stuff that you're mentioning too. There's a certain few things that have bits in common. So while this person that is... um talking with you, as per your request, and showing you off. He gets a little bit confused about some of the stuff you kind of highlight, like it's the size of the hooves um and how flat they might actually be and then how bushy the mane is. That's great. hecom He can put twat tacks on the price because we've got no intention of paying it if it's able to get them out of here. So I'm happy to look a fool on the horse as long as I'm distracting him.

Speaker: To be honest, though, because of the high deception check for you, he doesn't think of you as being a twat. He's thinking that you are serving somebody who's just very flamboyant.

Speaker: He's kind of used to dealing with this kind of stuff, and he's just thinking, oh, this is um another one of those rich people. Let them pick out all the faults that they want, and then they can just pick their horse and be done with it. So he's kind of playing along with you this one. As long as his eyes are on me and he's not paying attention. His his eyes are currently on you as you divulge and go through all five of these horses. Alessio and Caelan.

Speaker: yeah you've realized at the speed everything, you've probably got maybe a good 10 minutes ah to kind of case out this joint.

Speaker: So what I will do from both of you, because there are other people here, i want a performance check first off for...

Speaker: I'm going to say blending in and not making yourself looking too conspicuous. conspicuous From both of us. From both of you. Ah, shit. Sorry about this. And a perception check from both of you. got minus one on performance.

Speaker: Hey, if you roll a 20, then you're only one off a crit. That's five. Okay, never mind. ah Do you still want me to roll perception? Yes, he can still roll Perception.

Speaker: That's a... That's a 23 on Perception. Okay, and Alessio, your performance. 15 on the performance. And your Perception. Oh, ah that was that was dog shit. I'll take my passive. That's 17.

Speaker: a So, together you guys start to wander off. And there seems to be a bit of a...

Speaker: unspoken beneficiary actions between the two of you, where one of you is looking around. You're looking so kind of strange as to the stuff you're looking at. You are clearly trying to coax the joint out, but that's taking all the attention away from these other people, away from Alessio, who is actually doing decent job at blending in quite nicely.

Speaker: On the other side, Alessio's not having much luck in trying to do anything, but because Caelan is making such a... And everyone's looking at him. He's looking at everyone at the same time. And as he's looking at all these people, he's getting a good glance of all the areas around him. Every little nook and cranny, every bit of weak fence post, every bit of window, high entry, low entry...

Speaker: The only thing you can't determine from um this place is what any kind of patrols, if any, might be going off later on at night for a possible heist. However, between the two of you, you do believe that you found, at the very least, a way that would be majoritively out of passerbys and the public eye in order to gain rear access to the stables.

Speaker: Now, if somebody wants to,

Speaker: Uh, Caelan, with your high perception, yup you have noticed aye a small room with like a, a hole in it that would, you can tell was once a window, but it's since been, uh, either smashed or removed or whatnot. Um, and you would see a small key chain in there.

Speaker: Probably safe to assume that this key chain would actually open the stable doors at the front. If you wanted to, you're more than welcome to attempt to steal it now or just make a note of it for later on.

Speaker: I'll steal it now. say something Okay. That's fine. Go for sleight of hand then. I'm not going to just do it. I'm going to just do a little sleight hand. I'm going to it for a nine. Yeah.

Speaker: You try and slide off this key ring that's on the wall And it just slips out of your fingers. These are heavy keys for stable doors. It kind of smashes onto the floor. So after probably maybe about eight minutes of this and you're just getting to the last horse, Remy, um these keys kind of heard and the yeah guy you've been dealing with just gives a quick sharp turn to the keys. Hey, hey, don't you go messing around over there.

Speaker: Get away from there.

Speaker: And he's gesturing over to you, Caelan. Sorry. I'm going to and go out. As that happens, I will immediately just kind of go to the salesman. Well, I'm convinced by what you have shown me, and I will go back to the lady. if She's very particular about her horses, and particularly color. It's a matter of style. I don't get it.

Speaker: I don't understand it at all, but it's a matter of style for the lady. We will... are We will consider this and we will be back in the morning with the lady for her to pick out her palfrey of choice.

Speaker: but Of course, of course. Not a problem. Open the door. as as as as As we're doing that, I'm going go over to where Caelan's dropped the keys and I'm going to pick up the keys. I'm going to use sleight of hand because you remember that guard we looted earlier and I took a set of keys off him. I'm sleight of hand and put the ah the set of keys I looted ages ago up on the hook and keep the ones that we're now wanting to steal. So we've got the keys. Just a little bit of a, ah here are the keys. Just hang them up. And then he sees us hanging something up then, you know.

Speaker: Go for a sleight of hand. Excellent. See how smoothly you can make this long. 26. Yeah, buddy. It was a crit with my bonus. Fuck on me. With great grace and great sleight of hand.

Speaker: you put the other set of keys back up on the wall, and you're just kind of holding your hand, apologizing to over to the person. And he's seen you ah do it himself, but he's still a little bit distracted by Remy at the same time, trying to make this sale for one of these fine war horses, and then a couple of ah just plain riding horses for Alessio and Kalen at the same time. that Thank you. Thank you.

Speaker: Excellent. And then he just leads Cailin out. Very good. Very good. I think I'll be saying to these two, i told you leave that to me because I bet you there's one in here the lady's going to like just as we're heading out the door.

Speaker: Yes, indeed. I totally agree. The guy who's escorted you down is just waiting outside the building. Or is everything to Sir's liking in there? Yes, I think we will return in the morning. i think we've got some horses that we will ah indeed like.

Speaker: Fantastic. Where to next, sir? Ladyship requires um supplies for the road. my ah Our guards here will need some weapons and ammunition. Where can we find that?

Speaker: basically we We have a small shopping district that has a general store for such things the like um that the lady may potentially be yeah requiring. Not too far, we have a blacksmith.

Speaker: um and And an iconic shop of some description. I've never been in there. but Yes. So he's going to first take you down one of the central towns, the central roads. We're kind of getting into the ah busy area of everything at the moment.

Speaker: And

Speaker: he's going to take you to the Arcana shop first.

Speaker: There's a sign on it that's called scrolls and rolls.

Speaker: As you go in... Scrolls and rolls. love that. Brilliant. As you go in, there is a aroma that hits you straight off the bat. Clearly, some people are actually using particular ingredients to craft potions.

Speaker: um ah Amongst other things, there is a scrolls... on the wall, all behind kind of like glass cabinets and all this. And yes, would you, what is it that you are looking for in particular?

Speaker: ah We're looking for healing potions, mainly. And also, I guess, any suitable ah items that might be useful for our ambush.

Speaker: And ammo, please.

Speaker: Okie dokie. So we'll do the potions of healing first. You can get four standard potions of healing and two greater potions of healing.

Speaker: That is what's available in the store.

Speaker: And how much are they to cost? trying to see what D&D Beyond says for them at the moment, but I can't find the actual costing. I believe in normal potion of healing it's about 50 gold pieces, and we'll say it's 75 gold pieces for the stage up on the ah greater ones. I wish to haggle.

Speaker: There is a almost a kind of Black Panther tabaxi that comes out. Big Puma-style whiskers. and everything else.

Speaker: Yes. i be we yeah We're looking to buy ah these potions. um Perhaps we we can negotiate on the price. All right. How many are you after?

Speaker: Four of the common and four of the greater. I'm afraid I only have two of the greater ones. for But if you're looking to clear out my stock, perhaps in some good deal we might be able to agree to. It should come out to 350 gold pieces for the lot. How much are you offering?

Speaker: ah Let's say 200.

Speaker: That's quite a big reduction.

Speaker: How about three? 250. 250.

Speaker: two fifty

Speaker: I'll take it.

Speaker: Cool. Bit of back and forth, 275. He's perfectly fine with that. Win. Okay, so I'll... Basically, you bought five potions, you got one... No, six potions, you got one of them for free.

Speaker: ah Yeah, not bad.

Speaker: ah Right, so we've got Potions of Healing. um Also, that in the shop, on the scrolls, on the wall, you see something that does pique your interest.

Speaker: Glyph Scrolls. And there's a little note basically saying, make these your own, available for 350 gold pieces.

Speaker: So what I'll permit you, It basically, you can put a third level spell into one of these glyph scrolls. So it'll be ordained as like a trap scroll.

Speaker: um But I think just for flavor, you don't have to have it in your spell book. It can be one that's like added into it in all fairness. Cool, yeah. you go Go outside your range for a bit. Excellent. Normally you cast them free. Okay. um Can we get a... that oh I'm going to be talking to the others about this as well. I want Remy and Cailinsman. You're still all within range, so yeah, by all means. yeah re mean Remy will telepathically say immediately...

Speaker: Well, damage is always fun, but invisibility that can turn more than one of us invisible is going to be real handy. I was thinking of a scroll of entanglement or something like that, potentially.

Speaker: Oh, that ain't bad. Though it's quite low level, but...

Speaker: Invisibility could just get one of us, because it could get one of us, maybe two of us on the cards. Can Lady G... She's still... yeah. and we've We've probably tuned you into the fact that we can acquire scrolls up to third level. yeah She'll go, i do believe there is ah an illusion-based spell where you can change the terrain into something else. That might be a good option. I've heard that...

Speaker: Things like spiked growth might be quite useful if we're looking at stopping things or we're creating some sort of choke point. I can obviously create all sorts of illusions regardless, but yes, something that can slow or trap is a good idea. okay so...

Speaker: i think I agree. I think invisibility. What do you think, Ken? I don't think we need it that much. um I just stay in the shadows. Yeah, okay. Right, we'll go for the spiked growth, I think is probably a good one. Let's have think.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. Okay, Callum. We're probably going to go for or try and get a spike growth at second level. Yep. Is there any improvements if you cast it at third level for it?

Speaker: No? No. No, it's just a 20-foot sphere that turns stuff into... um Yeah, difficult trying to turn to further damage and that kind of stuff.

Speaker: Mince meat. Yeah. And then you cast push and pull and just drag them through it now. um ah So we'll go for a spike growth and a what's the spell, Will, for the terrain one?

Speaker: ah Illusionary terrain. I don't know what level it is. i just know that it's...

Speaker: That's fourth level. Can't get it. Is it fourth? No, that's hallucinatory terrain. Oh, hallucinatory. Yeah, that's yes sorry. That's the one I was thinking of. Yeah, it's fourth level. Okay. Yep. Well, Spike Growth kind of does the same thing because you can't see it yeah when it's cast only. Only if you see it cast or when you go into it. to yeah i say These are glyph ah scrolls. So obviously, Spike Growth, you can ah basically set an area to designate it as a trap.

Speaker: ah And then obviously you can you don't even need to be there for it. The trap will be triggered upon your ah demand. That is beautiful. Cool. Okay, well, we'll go for the glyph scroll. Is there anything else Remy or Caelan would want other than um arrows and bolts?

Speaker: This is your domain. Yeah, urban urban shops, and unless they're selling crossbow bolts or blades, this is your domain. um

Speaker: Okay, any... That's quite good... Lady G's stealth isn't very good, is it? Are you saying this in my head?

Speaker: How dare you? You're not very good at hiding, are you, Lady G? I can disappear from view entirely if I wish.

Speaker: That's fine. I'm just trying to conserve your spells. for things That's fine. Okay, good. That's fine. Excellent. That works. ah Okay, I'm going to try and get one of the... ohaga for two

Speaker: You're using the blood money, so spend, boy. Okay, I'm going to try and go for two of the ah spik spike growth glyphpha scrollers, please.

Speaker: That would be 700. Okay, how about five for being good customers? I don't even know who you are. i mean, we just spent an awful lot of gold with you.

Speaker: We're residing at the, what's the place called Callum Four Poster? Four Poster Place? but I'm not telling you in the middle of a fucking negotiation here. Either you remember it and you've been paying attention or you don't.

Speaker: Okay, I'm going to telepathically ask the others, including Lady G, to be there. But you know

Speaker: Very, very fair. Very, very fair. very of If it's that kind of transgression, then, yeah, there's a brief moment while you're asking your head. The four-poster. Four-poster. We're residing at the four-poster. I'm here on behalf of a very prominent guest staying there who requires to ensure that their travels are carefree, as it were.

Speaker: And they think trap scrolls are the way to do that.

Speaker: They're particular. I'm just a servant sent out to get the things for them. Dignitaries don't pay my bills. Gold does. Exactly. 500 gold. 700 gold. six? 650. 625. 625.

Speaker: seven hundred gold

Speaker: how about six

Speaker: like fifty

Speaker: six twenty five

Speaker: Fair enough. But only because they're level two spells.

Speaker: Take off another 625. You can have the and two of the spike growth scrolls for your trap. for a player in FIFA. um

Speaker: thanks very much. That's two scrolls of spike growth. Yeah. And obviously for Remy and for Caelan, as much as you want to spend on arrows or crossbow bolts, just obviously like make sure he gets took off the party. and can we carry Can we get any plus one or or plus two arrows and bolts? just you know

Speaker: the We're after more than just your average arrow at this point. ah didnt I didn't know plus one arrows existed. ah I thought it was on the bow. I didn't think you could get it. thought it was on the bow. Hang on. Hang on. Let me have a look. Hang on. Let me have look. Um.

Speaker: Um. It's called ammunition. Ammunition, plus one. Yes, you can get ah ammunition. Any ammunition, you can have plus one attack to damage and attack and damage rolls for ammunition. It is because bows have you can get ammo that gives you the bonus as well.

Speaker: push comes to shove i will take normal crossbow bolts to load up calum with special ammo because i'm more likely to get up close with folly and he's going to be more used with ranged so rather than splitting it give him the good stuff and i'll just take normal plus plus one arrows and bolts are uncommon plus two are rare plus three are very rare So, yeah, I'll permit um plus one arrows if ah and crossbow bolts if those are required. ah Junior by the price, I think, for a set of 10, it's going to cost 50 gold pieces.

Speaker: What, for each? for No, for the set of 10. So 10 arrows will cost 50 gold. Get him 20 for getting out the bolts because I'll be on folly anyway. So i'll i'll I'll go for 20 arrows and 20 bolts.

Speaker: Thank you. Okay. 200 gold, yeah? So, yep. That's fine. So, Remy, you do have ah some plus one crossbow bolts. I will put them in just in case. They're spending blood money. Why the heck not? I'll put them into um the party inventory and then you can pull them out of there later on if you need to.

Speaker: Cool. That's plus one arrows, yeah? Yeah, so plus one arrows there. Plus one to attack and damage rolls made this ammunition. nice Because who doesn't like the idea of getting bonuses to your attacks?

Speaker: Always. I'm here for it. Yeah, boy. And ammunition is sometimes cheaper than buying the weapon that gets the bonus.

Speaker: Yeah. Cool. Okay. and lovely lovely I need to update that scroll. There should be two of them. ah Okay. That's the party inventory now updated with all of the stuff we have bought. And all your shopping needs met.

Speaker: I've still got 900 gold chains. I've still got money to burn here. Your guide and escort through the city ah takes you back to the four poster.

Speaker: Yep. Opens the door for you, lets you back in. Yep.

Speaker: Alessio, just in case, your passive perception. You see a note on the desk of, I want to say Jeremy?

Speaker: Jerome. Jerome, damn it. Why is that kind of... I've just lost that. Jeremy's the night manager. You see a note on the desk of Jerome. And...

Speaker: While you are walking past, you can see that it's made out to Alessio.

Speaker: Okay. And as you walk in... Ah, Reginald. Good to see you again. I presume your shopping trip was successful? Yes, it was. Thank you very much.

Speaker: your ah your Your man was very, very helpful in showing that. pleased to hear it. The good lady has been well taken care of in your absence. excellent Has there been any messages? ah My lady sometimes uses a male ah

Speaker: pseudonym in order for there to be... yeah You know what it's like. Under the name Alessio.

Speaker: Alessio. I've never known her use of the pseudonym before. It's a new thing. She's trying it out. You know what she's like. We have indeed had A letter for Alessio, but I was instructed to give it to a gentleman called Alessio, not the lady.

Speaker: Yes, exactly. Me, pretending to be the man. You know how these things are.

Speaker: Roll a persuasion check. Okay. Well, that's a nine. He doesn't quite believe you. Okay. Okay. I'm sorry, sir. I really don't believe this letter is for you or for the lady.

Speaker: He's going to take it off the desk i'pha and just put it underneath. goodness sakes, it's not bad enough that you make me go and bathe in the goddamn barn. You now won't give me my own damn leather.

Speaker: Goddammit, my name is Alessio. Give me my damn mail.

Speaker: I'll have you not speak to me like that, servant. It's still my name and it's still my leather.

Speaker: you go for a persuasion check or performance I'm kind of lying it ah well or deception then you can pick deception so it doesn't really matter but I'll go deception just roll see what you get for all

Speaker: Yeah, a four. See, I should have like gone for deception, but... He did he doesn't quite believe you. He said, I will not have you impersonating anybody who might be entering this premises. And he's going to take the scroll that's got a later name on it and just whack you around the head with it.

Speaker: but just be mr Rude. Now, please, do not pester me anymore and rejoin the good lady upstairs.

Speaker: Okay. As we're going upstairs, I'm going to watching him. Where put him the note? It's literally, he's got this like platform desk type of thing and he's literally just put it underneath the, underneath the yeah shelf.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So if you think of like a maitre d' stand on the top bit, there's just like a little gap below it. So it's just out of view of you now. But you can kind of see him just put it there.

Speaker: It's not even under lock and keen. Alessio is going to telepathically say to the other two, well, to everyone in thing, we need to get that note. a distraction would be useful now. There's ah there's a nice little fake set of armor there, Remy. You could knock that over. That might get him going.

Speaker: Matt, how do you get, Folly? Get down there. I don't suppose you're supposed to be in here anyway. I'm going to bring you back as a raptor tomorrow. And what's going to happen is from upstairs, Folly's going to come bundling down the stairs and he's just going to sit on a table and stare at the barkeep.

Speaker: i

Speaker: May I help you? Folly's going piss on the table. Oh, heavens! And he's just going to kind of shoo off. Shoo! Shoo! Get away, you foul beast! Folly's going to run to a corner of the room as far away from the bar as possible.

Speaker: and And the the bar keeps kind of happy with that, and he's going to pull out a rag and start cleaning on the bar. I think he's trying to distract Jerome, not... ah Jerome has turned around to see, but he's trusted the barkeep to obviously um keep this in hand.

Speaker: and So there may be a split second if you have a good slight of hand yeah What he's then going to do is he's going to, like a jittery bunny, he's just going to like to start running all over the tables and he's just going to just like literally be be scuttling around. You know like how like when a bird comes in your house and it's trapped and it looks like it's trying to get out, it's just going to be making all manner of mess and deluge as it looks like it's panicked.

Speaker: Alessio's going to be fake mock-like surprise going, my goodness, Lady Orchid will not be impressed with his kind of antics in such such an establishment.

Speaker: And that's probably enough of a statement for him to try and take a bit of an initiative on it. And he's going to just clap his hands, and catch that thing.

Speaker: um and two guys are going to try and ah catch it as well. Can just get a basic dexterity check from and whatever your Beast of the Land stats are for Folly, please, Remy? Sure. I'll have to check what his stats are. One second.

Speaker: Bear with. This is just basically for dodge duck dip Davin and Dodge around this room. I want to say it gets my stats, but I might be wrong. and And while this is happening, i'm going to try and swipe the note, by the way.

Speaker: You do a preemptive sleight of hand check. Okay. And I'm going to remember to use my side-bolted neck now, if that I know this has failed. So I'll see what happens. Right. That's a 22. If it fails, I can add a d6 to it. All right. or that? You're going to depend on what Remy rolls.

Speaker: It's pretty good either way. So I'm gonna roll straight D20. Be the easiest way to do this.

Speaker: How's 17?

Speaker: joint that's good enough they are trying to catch folly and he's using his great jumping and gliding to just kind of fly around a little bit and like trying to catch an actual bird in mid fly everyone's kind of raising their hands up clapping trying to get at him and they're not particularly able to um do it straight away it does take a couple of minutes of this running around and just as it is taking this couple of minutes. ah Remy with his sleight of hand, just without even eyesight to it, pockets the scroll that's so underneath the desk. And

Speaker: starts heading upstairs as do i imagine the rest of you remy just leaving folly to his feet uh what remy will do was he'll just laugh and go oh try whacking me on the nose now boy and what he's going to do he's going to open the door ah hold out a carrot and wave it in front of folly who will see the carrot and remy will lob it out the door and folly will run out and then remy will shut the door and then And then everybody kind of breathes this exasperated sigh of relief. Didn't they teach you that in fancy prep school?

Speaker: um And then I'm going to walk back upstairs. You see kind of ah Jerome straighten up his jacket. The three remaining ones of you enter the room of a Lady Gaden, the masked orchid.

Speaker: And to find out what's going to be going off next, you'll have to tune in to us next week for our next episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop.

Speaker: Oh, boy. Well done, team. I mean, after all those skill checks, sanctors I mean, that's definitely a level up. I don't know about you. Yeah, right. You kind of got to have a long rest. To find out what we choose for our level up, guys, you'll have to tune in next week. Oh, it's going be good.

Speaker: Farewell. Farewell. Level us up, bitch.
