Speaker: Yep, with a we need to get out of here, sort of like, let's let's kick it. Let's kick it into gear. Let's go. Not a sui. Going bareback.

Speaker: going fair

Speaker: Hello everybody welcome to this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are a live play 5.5e D&D podcast set in the magical homebrewed world of Earth. I am Callum and I am your DM for this session. With me playing tonight, we have Will playing the human bard Alessio.

Speaker: ah Let's go steal some horses. We have Will playing the human warlock Lady G. I like horses too. And we have Ian playing the elf ranger Caelan.

Speaker: Clip-clop, motherfuckers. Cool. Thank you very much. Hey, Ian, what happened on last week's session? We spent a long time deciding whether or not Remy could be heard leaving the fucking room.

Speaker: But we did also...

Speaker: It's like okay. We took just as long a time to decide whether or not checks were athletic based or strength based. And then the whole episode alluded to athletic abilities and puns and different power lifts.

Speaker: And that was all in the guise of getting a trunk out of a window and then maneuvering out of the hotel meeting up with Kaelin, them being Lady G and Alessio, and making their way downtown to the stables where they had planned a horsey heist. The weather is rain, torrential rain. It is dark.

Speaker: And mysterious. The moon is our light. But even there, there's not much of it, given the cloudy affair we find ourselves in. Upon reaching the stables, we are surrounded by 12-foot fence to which Caelan deftly clambers up and spies from the top with his elf eyes A series of stables and barns. There's two of which. And after allowing the group in on his mind, because Alessio had connected us all, they opened the door.

Speaker: Cast Passer Outtrace and proceed down to the stables. We find ourselves on the left stable. Two. One on the right, one on the left.

Speaker: Alessio takes point to open the door and we got two two feet opening before you decided to, out of nowhere and no prompting from no one, decide to end the fucking episode.

Speaker: That's... where we left ourselves on the fellowship at the tabletop. And quite possibly your most detailed recap ever. So yes, take well-earned inspiration die.

Speaker: Thank you. You're most welcome. But yes, we will zoom straight away with Alessio prying open one side of the door very, very gently. It rolls with ease. How far would you like to take it open, Alessio?

Speaker: I'm going to pull it open. about a foot athletically so with sleight of hand opening it. um And then I will look through the gap.

Speaker: Lovely. And as you look through the gap, you perceive what's inside. You can see two horses on the left-hand side.

Speaker: Is there any a light in here?

Speaker: There is a dull light just coming from a ah lit candle that it's on the... Wow, fucking leave a lit candle in a barn. These guys are absolute cowboys. Dangerous. that Hay on the floor. Safety regulations that that's breaching. That's not We should wake them Fucking hell, yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. I revealed all of the barn for you now there. and thats yeah You can see two horses are on the left. They seem to be snooze mode. Okay.

Speaker: Okay, Alessia will look the others and in their minds go, there's only two horses in here. This is fucking shit. Let's go check the other barn first. It's not what we agreed. Yeah, I know. We're to need... the other barn first.

Speaker: At least three.

Speaker: Alessia will gently shut the door. Mm-hmm. And we'll go check out the other one.

Speaker: Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. You start to move back over. Lady G, you take the gate. Caelan and Alessio just hop over the fence, I am presuming.

Speaker: Athletically hop over the fence, yeah. Awesome, awesome. Charismatically take the gate. As you

Speaker: get about halfway between the first barn and the second barn,

Speaker: your eyes are suddenly blinded. There is a huge flash of light followed by a huge roar of thunder as only so many feet from you

Speaker: lightning strikes from this heavy rain that has been coming down and hits the top of one of these barns. Sending it ablaze.

Speaker: In the rain? Yeah. Things can catch fire in the rain, Will.

Speaker: Shit. Which barn? which The one you were just heading towards. How big is the fire?

Speaker: It's spreading rather quickly at this stage. Can I use prestigitation to try and put it out? Using the fireplate element of it. You try to, but it seems to be spreading quicker than what you can put it out.

Speaker: Okay, fine.

Speaker: Okay. Well, I wasn't expecting that.

Speaker: No. Let's go. Yeah, see if there's more horses. I'll go and get the other two horses. Just in case.

Speaker: If that is going to be the plan, before we proceed, can I have everybody just have an initiative roll for me? Going to be going into a bit of a skill check challenge. Oh, I hope athletics is on there.

Speaker: It'll be whatever you want it to be, as long as you can make it a valid reason.

Speaker: So, Lady G, what did you get? 14, baby. fourteen baby

Speaker: Alessio, what did he get? I'm rolling turds tonight. i' got an eight. An eight? Beaten by an old lady again. You like getting beaten by old ladies, don't you, Alessio?

Speaker: Caelan, what did he get? As always, rolling bombs. It's a 20. man. oh

Speaker: He's just the best rolled character I've ever had If I swap my initiative, if I use my initiative swap feature, does the other person have to be willing? I'm afraid they do have to be willing in order to swap. I believe it specifically states how they have to be willing.

Speaker: ah yesa You can't make the swap if your ally has the incapacitated condition. which does It doesn't say otherwise. Let me just double check. um Don't you fucking dare.

Speaker: ah Do they have to be willing? Let's have look. What's wonderful is we can all hear you click on your keyboard as well. Yes. Sorry, the ally does have to be. that that's that's That's a shame. We'll just think work out.

Speaker: Consent is key. Yeah, yeah. You're now just Googling. Do they have to be willing? and them yeah seeing said what it is Just swapping stuff. Will, will you consent to swapping initiatives, basically?

Speaker: Eat shit. I just thought I'd ask. I like how you went with you know Lady G and not Kaylin, who's actually top of the initiative order. I've given Kaylin the top initiative for so many rounds, I'm happy with having it.

Speaker: My man. My man. Right. Kaylin, you are first in the initiative order. Okay.

Speaker: What would you like to do? I'm going to go get some horses. I'm going go in and get some horses. cool I'm going sneeze first though, but I am going to mute myself. You're welcome listeners. Nope. It's a ghost of a sneeze. One of those things where you talk about never happens. Ain't that just the luck of the draw. What do I see as I open these doors?

Speaker: Are you doing the left or the right? Both. I'm Aragorn in it. Sorry. Left or right barn? ah The one that's ablaze. The one that's ablaze. Cool. So that's fine. That's fine. Um, you can get, what's your movement?

Speaker: 45. How far have I got to go? ah You can get there and open the left-hand door quite easily. How much movement does that take me?

Speaker: That would take your full 45. What the fuck? Okay, I'm going to cast Longstrider on my bitch ass, and that gives me 10 feet. No, that's the start of my turn. I get 10 feet extra anyway.

Speaker: ah Hang on, hang on. pretty sure that I've got a feet. Yes. Hang on. Hang the fuck on now.

Speaker: I'm hanging on. Good. At the start of your first turn of each combat. ah This is in combat. I'm going to take the long stride of spell, buff myself up. Kaylin's just going to click his heels like Dorothy and my speed increases by 10 feet until the spell ends. Got to go fast.

Speaker: Wait, wait, wait.

Speaker: It's not concentration spell. I can have that and pass still going. We are good. That's what I just wanted to check. Look at me. Look at me, guys. I'm using spells. oh So I've got 10 feet extra. So as I open the door, using 35 feet of movement, Callum, what do I see?

Speaker: You see inside three horses. This is not the barn that I'm going. Is this the barn that's alight? Yes. Oh, this this is the barn that's on fire.

Speaker: I thought I was going for the other two horses. I think if we scrub back in this episode, Caelan does say he's going for the other two horses, but fuck it. We're here now. And you've just said the three horses. That's perfect. Fuck the other two. So Caelan doesn't know his left and right. He gets a little bit discombobulated and enters this barn of three horses, has 10 feet extra movement. What's the temperature like in here?

Speaker: and the vibe check Give me a horsey vibe check. It's very, very warm. Very, very... You are pretty much underneath where the fire is at the moment. What's the commoner doing over there that I see?

Speaker: As you see the commoner, you have no idea what he was doing before, but now there's just a look of ah kind of shock and horror that's on his face. but yeah He stood up.

Speaker: You're looking dead at him. Shock and horror on his face. That's all you can tell at the moment. I'm part of the fire service. We need to get these horses out of here. It's health and safety regulation.

Speaker: Okay. I'm going to take the horses. I suggest you get out here. Make your way to safety.

Speaker: The rain cannot protect you. We have discussed this.

Speaker: Good luck.

Speaker: No, I'm going to enter 10 feet in. Did you do that? Yes, i've but I bought you 10 feet in. Okay. You are inside. So I used an action and I have a bonus action now.

Speaker: So I'm going to just put Hunter's Mark on the commoner. yeah God.

Speaker: Right. Okay. yeah I always have it prepared and can cast it without expanding the slot. There we go. Mark on the commoner. Yep. Lovely, lovely.

Speaker: um The commoner that you've obviously told all that to, he's going to move over to the left. And these horses at the moment with the heat and the thunder and the fire,

Speaker: They're very much kind of unsettled. You can easily tell this they're very, very, very rearing up. um But they're still kind of tied to the posts that are in front of them.

Speaker: So he's going to do something.

Speaker: And he at the moment, he's basically... unsecuring the horse that he is closest to and he is trying to lead it away without much success it's an unfortunate thing and that's all he can do least at least you beat an old woman and another man in the initiative order lady g cool can she get to the same barn that cailin has entered in her turn able to at least get to the doorway

Speaker: What is your movement? ah Normal movement speed, which is, I think, 30 feet. need 40 feet to get to the nearest point.

Speaker: That's not okay. That's not okay, Callum. um I'm terribly sorry. Maybe you could do an athletic check, see if you can move quicker. Do you reckon? The thing is, I could just take an action and dash, but But would Lady G dash?

Speaker: Lady G does not rush. Lady G doesn't rush, does she? And the door's kind of wide open, is it? the The door that's on the left, because she's sliding doors, one on the left is wide open.

Speaker: Okay, cool. So she can get herself, not in the door, but could she can get herself so that she can somewhat see inside. um If she was to look to the north of her position, so we've got these two big barns,

Speaker: Is there anything kind of further to the north of us? Is there like housing? Is there any kind of, uh, residence ah further to the north of where these are? So obviously you've got the two barns and then the two like open areas for the horses yeah to move around in.

Speaker: Beyond that, there is a walking path that seems to go around, um and then it's the 12-foot fence again. Okay, so it's just the only buildings here are these these buildings? These barns, these open areas, yeah.

Speaker: Cool. Okay. and has Caelan relayed anything that he's seen within there? Or have I heard him say anything that he said?

Speaker: ah heard me, but I didn't relay it to my... Unless my verbal does link into my brain, I don't know. I don't think it really does. i think the noise of the fire, the rain um and And the distance as well, because he is on the inside of another building. You would have heard him mumbling something, but you wouldn't have been able to make cohesive sense out of it.

Speaker: Okay, cool. ah So there's a building on fire that Cairn's run into, and there's a building that's not on fire. Yes. Cool.

Speaker: I think she'd kind of start making her way towards that and then kind of stop for a second and be like, I don't know how much help I'm going to be inside that building, Alessio.

Speaker: I'm just going to chill here in the rain for a bit and shout if it gets a little bit harsher in there for you.

Speaker: If anyone pops along, I'll distract them. And she just doesn't approach the burning building any further. No, that's perfectly fine. That's perfectly fine.

Speaker: Lovely. Alessio. How would you like to proceed? You seem Caleb running to a burning building. Yeah, I'm going to hedge our bets. I'm going to go back to the up barn with the two horses and try and steal those as well. I'm going to hedge our bets and try and get as many horses as we can.

Speaker: So ah I move. I'm going to dash. um Yep. which will get me to the door. And then as a free action, I'm going to interact with an object because it's a free action within D&D 5.5 and slide open the door and then move the rest of my movement ah inside.

Speaker: Lovely, lovely. And just as a quick perception check for you, of what you can clearly see, obviously these horses... They're a little bit unsettled at this moment as well. The Thunder has really kind of done a number on them. They're probably not going to be as hard to settle down as what the ones in the burning building are.

Speaker: um But yeah, lovely, lovely. Caelan, top of the round.

Speaker: Gave instructions to a commoner. Ran into a burning building. building What's next? um caitlin's going to go to the horse nearest to him which is 20 feet away and untether it okay free action to obviously untether it but can you make an animal handling check for me yes as as caitlin does this he's approaching wearily

Speaker: And he's patting the hindquarters, making his way to the face, going, just those little shitty noises that humans make to animals for no fucking reason whatsoever.

Speaker: If only Remy was here, he could talk to them with his animal handling skill and that kind of stuff. Animal handling. what What am I doing with life? Oh, that's okay. Let's roll for that. It's not my best check.

Speaker: Yeah, that's a one. That's a natty one. That is a critical fail. That is a two in total. You you can't crit fail a... yeah But I'm going to use my heroic inspiration and roll again.

Speaker: That is a critical fail. That's a natural one for a two in total. You know what? I think you've coined it very well. When Caelan tries to do something he's supposed to be good at, he just smashes it.

Speaker: Anything other than that, fucking shit. Yeah, he's going to get kicked in the face, isn't he? Two natural ones. um You're able to kind of... Shit in my mouth.

Speaker: They're very... God. They are very, very unsettled, and you've kind of got one hand on the back trying to calm the animals. One hand... um I thought it was

Speaker: face. Lead it out. Lead it out. Unraveling and untethering ah that the yeah the horse. um You are indeed correct. As as soon as the um tether is kind of released, he's going to try and it not intentionally attack you as such, but he's very, very skittish. So he's just going to try and kick you to get out of his way. Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker: ah for a nine. ah Thankfully that misses. Okay, so the kick does um not connect.

Speaker: He is going to run, however. Yep. um Now, if I shoot it and connect, I can cast slow on it. If you what? If I shoot it and connect, I can cast slow. Okay. And you can choose to use non-lethal damage.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: How far is it? How fast does it start to scarper? So these are some of the finer horses that you were looked at before. Oh, God. That are war horses.

Speaker: So they have 60 feet worth of running movement, which after it moves, is going to be outside the barn. And he's going to go of the move in an eastern direction.

Speaker: He's running just away from the fire. We needed three horses, yeah?

Speaker: Probably about there is about the extent of where he can run. Four. Three for us, one for the trunk. We need the four horses. I'm going to have commandeer that commander's horse. um Okay, so you still have movement, so you can still assume if you want.

Speaker: I've got another 35 feet of movement. So Cailin's going over to the commander. Looks like you are struggling with this, and as you can see, I'm very good at getting the horses out of here. And he's going untether and coax it.

Speaker: Okay. You've you've already done an animal handling on the first one to kind of do anything. yeah obviously would say you know so There was a free action there, wasn't there?

Speaker: so The free action was to untether. Okay, so I'm using an action action. But the commoner was untethering it. how How are we doing with that? how How's the commoner doing? Oh, he weren't doing very well with it in all.

Speaker: Holy shit, man. So what do you want from me, Callum? Again, if you're if you're going to go for... Oh, fuck. and and Another animal handling? Is that what's happening here? Yeah, if you want to. I've given you a free one for the first one. But if you want to use your action to... Here we go. there is on this one as well. Cool. That's a five.

Speaker: oh damn Guys, I'm not meant to be doing this Someone else take over, please. If only Remy was here, he'd be great at this.

Speaker: he He absolutely would be. ah This one rears up and kind of shoves its body to one side to collide with you more than anything else there, Caelan. Does a 23 hit you?

Speaker: No. Okay. Yes, it does. course it does. I take you to your word, which I'm really sure to in all fairness, but there you go ah think You take five points of bludgeoning damage okay as this horse basically shoves out his entire body weight into you.

Speaker: Okay. There's nothing I can do. I'm done. that That's fine. The commoner is going to give another attempt at trying to calm the horse that you are currently yeah on, and he succeeds.

Speaker: Which is wonderful. So the commoner has got the this horse by the leash and it's starting to lead it outside of the barn.

Speaker: Now the horse is limited to 30 feet worth movement, but that's everything he's going to do. Lady G.

Speaker: So I've seen a horse bolt it out of the barn. so Still no communication mentally with the others. So she'll go, any heads up with regards to what we're doing? You just trying to get them out of the barn?

Speaker: might try to calm them down.

Speaker: What do you want me to do here? And she will send her sprite, Baroness Guinevere, after the horse that's bolted out and just say, Do what you can to calm that. well Why am I talking to you like that? i i did i'm sorry, Guinevere. I might as well drop fucking character because this is just ridiculous at this point.

Speaker: Go try and calm that horse. and she'll send the ah sprite after the horse directly ahead of her. And then she will maintain the position and await further instruction.

Speaker: ah She's no idea how to calm her fucking horse down, so she'll start thinking to herself, what would be the best option here? And won't use her action this turn to do anything other than that.

Speaker: Her ah sprite, I mean, technically it could shoot with an enchanted bow. ah Yeah, absolutely. And it would charm the target. It doesn't have to say anything about the target being humanoid or anything. ah don't know.

Speaker: Would Lady Guinevere? Baroness? Yeah, fuck it. Why not? it's fun. I'm going to, yes, get it to shoot at the horse for 15 hit.

Speaker: and That hits. A single point of ah piercing damage. Just one point of piercing damage is this tiny little arrow pricks into the horse's arse and it is charmed until the start of the sprite's next turn.

Speaker: ah The sprite can talk. It does have languages. um Obviously it can't talk horse, but i I'd make of that what you will. That's what the sprite's doing.

Speaker: you want to know what charm does, Callum? I'm just looking at it now. It can't harm the charmer and its social advantage. That's it. Yeah.

Speaker: To interact. Okay, socially. That's fine. That's fine. Okie dokie. Is there anything else you'd like the sprite to do, Baroness Guinevere? I mean, I told it to go after it and calm it down. So that's what it has ah done.

Speaker: yeah It's got a solid amount of flight speed. 40 feet, I think it is. ah Yes. And like that's what going to do. Is there anything it can do in that range that might calm it down?

Speaker: When it gets closer, it's I mean, it's used as action. My bonus action, it's used. It can find out the target's emotions and alignment, but that doesn't fucking help in any way, shape, or form. It's scared and angry.

Speaker: It can speak common, elvish, and sylvan. there's not really anything that it can do calm it down any way, shape, or Absolutely fucking not. You've got to catch up to it first, if nothing else. Exactly.

Speaker: That's fine, that's fine.

Speaker: Lovely. All right, the horse is going to continue to run, and based off the map, it's actually going to run off screen. Doesn't that run into the fence that's all the way around this area?

Speaker: It kind of does, so it runs towards the fence, gets to the fence, and then starts running south. ah just because it is further away. So it's going to basically be... it would be ah don't know if you can see where the horse off screen, um but yeah, it's going to be roughly about there, I would have thought. so But lovely. Alessio, you are up.

Speaker: ah I'm going to move ah over to where I can see the saddles, ah grab a saddle, and take it over to the closest horse.

Speaker: Okie dokie. And... That is about 55 feet worth of movement. so I'll use my interaction, a free action to pick the saddle. And then I'm dash over to the horse.

Speaker: Cool. So your action is to dash. Anything else you want to do? ah No, that's all I can do with my free action and ah normal ah action. I mean... Lovely, lovely. Caleb?

Speaker: So... This isn't going well for... Oh, dear, Caelan. Oh, I apologize, Callum. Can I retcon, please? I realize i can dash as a bonus action, so I still have a normal action.

Speaker: Oh, right. Okay. Yeah, yeah sorry fair enough. I dash as a bonus action. I misread my character sheet. Okay. ah Mr. Rule Consultant. I'm going to put the saddle down, and I'm going to pull out some sugar lumps and try to entice the horse into my direction.

Speaker: Okie dokie. That's fair enough. Just try to calm it get it, get it used to my my presence and that oh, this guy gives sugar. Cool. Okay. Do animal handling with advantage for the food.

Speaker: Thanks. That's a crit. I'm about to say... check why i said That's why I said for a total of 22.

Speaker: Boom. um the The sugar lumps clearly help your acquisition of this horse, and it um gets distracted by the food, starts eating it out of your hand.

Speaker: It's still tethered at this moment in time. ahs so You can untether it next turn on a free action. But yes, at the moment, this horse, nice, calm, and friendly towards you.

Speaker: Cool. Fantastic. And then Alessia will communicate with Lady G and Caelan and say, I've got one horse calmed. going saddle it, get the second one in here. How are you guys doing?

Speaker: Brilliant. Caelan, we'll move over to you now. Not doing so well on my side. Tried one horse, failed. Tried second horse, failed.

Speaker: Going for the third. And with that, Caelan's going for the final horse, Caelan. Lovely, lovely. He's going to go and slap his arse and just like jump on its back with a big jump and okay and see if he can calm it like that.

Speaker: So you're going over to this already kind of...

Speaker: unsettled horse slapping it on its arse and then jumping on it. Yeah, with a, we need to get out of here. Sort of like, let's let's kick it. Let's kick it into gear. Let's go. Not sui! Going bareback.

Speaker: He's just done with this bullshit, so let's give that a try. Animal handling with disadvantage for the aggression against the horse. Okay, so that's a seven already.

Speaker: And that's a 91.

Speaker: You hear in your mind, Alessio, there'll be a third running out in here in a minute.

Speaker: You slap the horse on the arse, jump on, and within mere seconds, it's reared up, chucked you off. um And for the sake of any kind of matter, you are prone Yeah. At this stage,

Speaker: um I'm going to have you take a little bit of damage from the bump, but it's one point of bludgeoning damage just from the um fall flat on your arse type of thing.

Speaker: That poor horse. Anything else you'd like to attempt and fail at? Poor horse? Yes. I'll get up.

Speaker: And...

Speaker: home ah No, there's nothing I can do. Use the apples, Caelan. did Did I get given? i I don't think I got given apples. It's in the shared inventory. It's in the party inventory. Yeah, no, but I don't remember getting them or giving them and or being a part of this whole thing. I was just circumnavigating the whole fucking thing, to be honest. So it serves me right.

Speaker: ah There's nothing I can do. I'm going to follow the horse out once it leads. Well, at moment, it's still tethered. Yeah. So it can't do anything. but Let me untether it.

Speaker: Okay, you're going to untether it. Yeah. It's panic toss. You're to untether it. Okay. Commoner is next, and he's basically going to use all his movement.

Speaker: He's going to be running out ah with one of these horses that has been able to calm down, um and he just moved away. he kind of just comes outside of the second barn um just to ah get to a point visually.

Speaker: Lady G. he's heard Alessio, he's heard Caelan, now he's seen, she, I should say, has seen all of these, kind of this this other person come out, and as soon as the person comes out, she'll revert back to her character of Dalen, and she will just say, we're part of the Riverfold Fire Service.

Speaker: Fear not, citizen. We'll have this under control soon. Gotta check there's a fire spreading down this way. And she'll kind of dart. Legend. South.

Speaker: I say dart. She's not going to dash. She's using her full movement speed, though. ah And because the last thing that she saw was this horse that has gone mad that I shot in the ass that didn't seem to do much ah darting to the south.

Speaker: Lady G is not a fool. she knows that they have left the gate slightly unlocked to the south. So out of line of sight, she's now going to use her and silent image spell at will with ah a good old 60-foot range on it. It can make a 15-foot illusion. She's just going to make a kind of a wall of fire.

Speaker: to the south connecting the, not 15 feet high. She wouldn't do it so that it was kind of attracting attention for miles around, but she would make it probably about five foot high, a wall of fire that ah spreads from the barn kind of to the to the fencing or as close as she can to as a form of, um what's the word I'm looking for?

Speaker: uh the opposite of ah to to to dissuade shall we say the horse from charging towards that area so if it comes around the corner be like more fire fuck that that's the intention that's what she's doing okay that's a have you drawn the lovely red bar on there to simulate i didn't i draw the multiple phalluses on the map um i think will has dawn drawn the firewall is that where the fire is going ah Yes, that's where I'd like it to go, thank you. So that it's not in line of sight of the door.

Speaker: So like if you were to look in through the door, you wouldn't immediately see this. and It's shorter, but also it's it's a deterrent. That's the intention. No, that's lovely. that's lovely Okay, so the horse that has escaped, and I use the term loosely, it's just going to keep using all its movement. It's going to keep running down south.

Speaker: um that's not going to be mattering no no no yeah okay Alessio you're up free action you can obviously just untether the horse if you wish ah is it an action to is it a free action if I put the saddle on the horse

Speaker: um What I will say, if you're just chucking it on, yes, but it won't be secured. No, I'm going to saddle the horse properly. Okay, so yeah, if you want to saddle the horse properly, then yes, that would be an action.

Speaker: Okay, so going to use my action to saddle the horse. yeah Then once that's done, I'm going to untether the horse and take the horse by the reins that is hanging from the horse's bridle. I'm going lead the horse out of the stall and down towards the second horse.

Speaker: Okay, that's fine. So you have 60 feet worth of movement ah while you are obviously on this war horse now. I'm not riding it. I'm leading it. You're just leading it. Okay, so you're not up to 60 feet yet. I'm leading it.

Speaker: That's fine. And you are down at the second horse. Yes. Fantastic, fantastic. One horse secured, working on my second one. I say telepathic to the others.

Speaker: Brilliant. A couple of things that happened. The fire does indeed spread. It's probably spread another 15 feet down the ah western side of this barn, but going down south and then 15 feet over to the east as well. So probably a full quarter of this barn is now currently ablaze. and You're still hearing the occasional thunder that seems to crack through ah this panic of a night sky.

Speaker: something else happens as well. A second person appears very, very much from the south.

Speaker: He is basically at the bottom of the issue of order. He's currently holding bottom up a bucket of water. can see by the look of it. And he's going to chuck this bucket of water on your illusion, Lady G.

Speaker: I can as a free action drop concentration on it any time Right So I'd see him coming in, wouldn't I? Yeah I'd see him doing that And it would be ridiculous to maintain that I know it's ridiculous to just completely drop the illusion as well But I think as ah as a, not using her reaction to do it, but I think as a free action to drop that concentration, she would almost as like a jiggers up with that illusion.

Speaker: Can you use free actions at any time? ah to To drop concentration, you can drop it at any time. Yeah, okay. So, yeah, you're obviously timing your reaction, not reaction, but you're timing your free action.

Speaker: If I saw someone sprinting in with a bucket of water and they just launch it, then, then yeah that's what you're doing. Absolutely. That's what this person's doing. He's running, he's got a buggy of water, and he chucks it to try and get it the full length, at least to lessen a lot of ah the fire. But obviously with surprisingly great success even to himself, almost instantaneously,

Speaker: but perfectly timed, the fire is extinguished, and he's kind of thinking, the hell? You can tell there's a confused look on his face.

Speaker: Lovely. Cailin, you're up. You've still got a tethered horse. It's very angry. I'm tethering the fucking horse. Okay, that's fine. i keep having a minute but I'm going to need you to make an animal handling check to see if you can even keep it there, because it's really rearing up and it wants to run at this stage.

Speaker: Buildings on fire. Things going hot. Thunder spooked it and slapped its ass. I don't

Speaker: ah

Speaker: want to do it. got a natural 20. 21. Yeah, you do. go.

Speaker: 21. It doesn't feel earned. This is a hollow, beaten down victory. this i This animal is just on survival and he's picked the only person that's still breathing near him.

Speaker: My favourite thing is that your dice was a unicorn die and the nat 20 was the unicorn head. ah Yeah, this horse almost was going to be severed from his head if it kept fucking me over. Callum, talk to me. Spice this up because it feels hollow.

Speaker: With great caution, you approach, you take a brief moment to calm yourself, calm your emotions, and intertwine how you feel in states with the horse. And it seems to react well to this calmer, less of a rush type of thing. And just by stroking its mane,

Speaker: you're able to calm it down significantly enough where you think you can untether it quite safely. And if you really wanted to, you could potentially mount it as well, but you would be going bareback if you did to choose to do so.

Speaker: Fuck it. I'm going bareback. Yeah, you are. And you successfully mount said horse.

Speaker: Now, your movement is at 60 feet. Unfortunately, Longstrider doesn't affect the horse. It only affects you. Yes. So you don't get that extra thing. But you will do have 60 feet worth of movement if you want to ah move on.

Speaker: Let's clip-clop.

Speaker: Where would you like to go with the horse? Out.

Speaker: Helpful. Okay, 60 feet literally will just put you a straight away outside said barn. There we go. Is that all the 60 feet? That's all of the 60 feet. Yeah, so it was extremely helpful. As I measured it was actually 50 feet that's at that point, so we still got another little bit more, I suppose, you know.

Speaker: Oh, in which case then I'm going towards Lady G.

Speaker: Yeah, you probably don't know that she's there, but yeah, you can take a left, obviously. Lady G, where are you? Easily. And you can react on your turn. Okay, I'm going to Lady G.

Speaker: Fantastic. The commoner is still just escorting um this horse. He's going to take it up out the open field ah that's north of the second barn and he's going to feed it into there.

Speaker: That's all he's going to do at the moment. Lady G, you are up. Cool. She's going to immediately say in her connection, company, another stable hand, leave with me. And she's going to outwardly walk towards this other person that's just kind of run in and go, thank goodness you're here. That's a quick response.

Speaker: We're here with the Riverfold Fire Service. This barn is an absolute hazard. We need your help getting things to the evacuation point. Let's go, go, go, go. And she'll kind of clap her hands in speed and encouragement to this person. She kind of beckons ah him forward and past her. That's her intention.

Speaker: ah Meanwhile, also telepathically saying to her sprite, Guinevere, perhaps take yourself invisible once more. And yeah, we'll use her bonus action to to have her sprite use the action to once more bamf out of sight and visibility and ah probably command her to kind of return to Lady G as well.

Speaker: That's going to be my turn. Sprite's going to start making its way back to you. um As your action then, can you just do a persuasion? Check against said Commodore.

Speaker: Yeah. I'm happy to do persuasion or deception. It's technically the same plus to it. Athletics. I'm gonna use my athletics if that's right, actually. yeah It's a 16.

Speaker: Okay. Alessio, you are in front of the second horse was in the barn to the left.

Speaker: You've got one still by the range. I'm going to calm the second horse with some more sugar. you

Speaker: want me to roll for it or not? ah Yeah, yeah, yeah. Animal handling, advantage once again. I don't have to calm. I can just take it as a success if you want. Animal handling and advantage once again for some nice sugar lumps.

Speaker: Ooh, sugar lumps. ah That's 13. Is that with advantage? Yes.

Speaker: Does that succeed or not?

Speaker: I'm presuming you got something, so it does not. Okay. I'm going to add ah a i'm going to add my Sionic Energy dice to it. And I'm going to add 1d6 to my dashboard.

Speaker: I rolled a five, so that takes it 18.

Speaker: and Okay. you With the sugar lumps and maybe even a little bit of um empathy towards the horse and its fear and its panic from the sounds, you're able to get the second one under control and calm down.

Speaker: As a free action, I will untether it and ah holding the reins of that one from its bridle that I assume it's got, I'm going to mount the other horse that's got the saddle on it. Mm-hmm.

Speaker: and and lead the two oh i'll so ride one whilst I lead the other one out. Okay, so we'll say obviously you still get your 60 feet worth of movement, but obviously it's a gentle pace that you kind of go with rather than a dash. I'm presuming so yeah, 60 feet worth of movement will get you outside of the first barn with two horses.

Speaker: Nice. Very, very well done.

Speaker: Not the first time it had steel horses.

Speaker: i don't um Moving on. It's the second Commodore that's come into play who's got the next action. Because the other horse took him out of the initiative. He's basically running along the wall of this entire barm.

Speaker: did you beckon to this other commoner lady G that he comes towards you? yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm like, I'm like quick, quick get past kind of okay shit. He's going to move towards you. You're going to use all his movement to come towards you. it says, where's the, where's the evacuation point?

Speaker: Do I get a chance to respond?

Speaker: Yeah, if you, yeah, go on. If you want to use your reaction for it. Cool. Are you not one of the local workers here? Surely you should know.

Speaker: We'll probably leave that one there, otherwise that's going to end up into a conversation. and We don't want those. Not on this podcast. No, no. Heavens forbid. Kalen, top of the round.

Speaker: So Caelan is now gone from, he's he's there's been a lot of emotions in Caelan this couple last rounds where he's tried and failed and tried and failed. And just like you do when you finally get that first date, you're emphatic and ah completely infatuated by finally losing.

Speaker: getting your conquest so cailin is riding this horse which he's already christened bane out of there as majestically as possible and he's almost shouting gleefully to you guys like i got it i done it i done it and uh he's going to ride what's the plan no

Speaker: Ride towards Lady G and yeah, in Alessio's mind, you'll hear, what's the plan? I've got a horse. I'm on it. It is mine now. i am one with a horse and the horse is one with me.

Speaker: And we'll say use your movements and get back to like this main path. Yeah. With the horse where you've got Alessio in sight and Lady G in sight as well.

Speaker: The Commodore that took away the first horse that you were trying to deal with, Caelan, is just going to be in pursuit of um something to try and help extinguish this fire and put it out.

Speaker: So he's going to disappear behind the eastern side of this barn. You're not going to be able to see him, but he's been running and he's been dashing. Lady G, you're up. Cool.

Speaker: Yeah, again, beckoning that person through.

Speaker: If you don't know where the evacuation point is, you're in big trouble with the boss. Now hurry. There. Now. This barn's done for. Get those horses. Well, that horse, make sure you look after it in the pen. I've got my team on the other two.

Speaker: Come on. Hurry. And you'll kind of again clap our hands in like a stop being such a slow little bitch. ah Fair enough. What more persuasion check from you then Can I make it deception? Not that it matters because it's the same. Ah, perception, deception.

Speaker: I'm going to use my heroic inspiration on that die. Damn. That turned it into an 18. And once more, eat shit.

Speaker: ah Right, okay. We shall wait to find out what happens with that. oh i but ja but but but but you remember That's what she's saying. yeah Yeah, that's fine. That's what she's saying. What would you like to do? What she like to do?

Speaker: She'll kind of... step out into the middle of the road and and see that Kaylin is now upon horseback behind. Got this person in front, see this person behind. And what she'll do is she'll look behind her now at a diagonal and she will once more use her silent image to create out of line of sight of this person.

Speaker: person in front of her. So round the corner from him, she will ah create a silent image of a horse undergoing trauma and kind of...

Speaker: ah Effectively like a scared horse, a silent scared horse within the pen so that there'll be two within the pen instead of just one. And she'll kind of instantly bump that out and turn her way back around and kind of ah try and get this person to continue going as she makes her way further south and past.

Speaker: Lovely, lovely. And does she have... ah We took, obviously, the sprite off the map. It's got... Is it still following you? It's still... i wanted to i wanted it to get back to me if I could. Would it be back to me at this point?

Speaker: It actually would, yes. It has just enough room to be right next to you. And is that using its turn this time to be right next to me? ah Using its movement this turn, yes. Okay.

Speaker: ah It's still got, like, an action that you can use. Yes, because it's got one of its actions I wanted to use, but it needs to be within five feet of something else.

Speaker: ah oop Just threw me pen on the floor. ah So can't do that. Then i won't. So let's move on to someone else.

Speaker: Awesome. Alessio. Okay, I am going to lead ah my horse and the other horse over to Kaelin.

Speaker: I am then going to pass. Oh, don't want to take the door as well. Pass Kaelin the reins of the horse that I haven't saddled. ah So he has those two horses. And then what I'll do is he then says to Kaelin and Lady G in his head,

Speaker: I'll go get the other horse from the paddock. That way we've got the four.

Speaker: Agreed?

Speaker: Yes. Are we allowed to respond? Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. yeah and The closest one is an illusion. Ignore it

Speaker: Good point. ah So I leave the little one, the one with the reins with Caelan, and then I use another 60 feet of movement because i assume I can get it to dash. Yeah. across to... I think you can.

Speaker: Yes, yes you can. Just use it action to dash and you would do normally. Yeah, and I'll get it to about there because we have to go get the other one.

Speaker: Lovely, love lovely, lovely. Cool. Okay. The commoner that you've spoken to, Lady G, you've got go, oh no, I didn't know there was an evacuation point. oh he's going to be in a bit of a panic rush. And he's seen Alessio come by with two um horses from the left. So he's going to presume that one was empty and he's going to start making his way up ah the side of the barn on the right-hand side.

Speaker: with full intentions of going in and just seeing if all the horses on there have actually been ah evacuated. That is going to be the goal unless told otherwise at this moment.

Speaker: Lovely. late Caelan, what would you like to do? You're on a horse. I'm on a fucking horse and I've got another horse next to me. You do.

Speaker: um He's going to...

Speaker: Clip-clop over to Lady G and say, you want to get on one? And we can go to the evacuation point.

Speaker: Can I respond? Briefly. I'm getting on the back of yours. I don't trust anything between my legs. I can't control. That's okay. This is Bane and he's a good boy.

Speaker: No saddle. And then once i'm going to hold an action, that once Lady G's on the back of my horse, I'm clip-clopping to the exit. Cool.

Speaker: Lovely. right, the commoners are going to do what they've been doing anyway. You've got one that's going to be chasing down the horse that's in pursuit, which is fine. Lady G, you're up.

Speaker: Yeah, she's going to, as she's now mounted up. Mm-hmm. shout back over her shoulder to the one that's heading towards the horse. Wait, I think there's one more in that barn. And she's going to point to the barn that Alessio took the two out ah of.

Speaker: Quick, help it. ah And in her head, say to Alessio and the others, I think now is the time we leave. Lovely, lovelyly lovely, lovely.

Speaker: Alessio? ah Is it easy for me to get the horse to jump over this fence or not? ah it so This is actually a lower fence than what the others are. Okay. So

Speaker: I would say with a bit of pacing, yeah, you probably would be able to manage it. Okay. I have it jump the fence and go over to the other horse and I take out some sugar lumps in attempt to calm that horse down and entice it to be friends with my horse.

Speaker: Animal handling with advantage. Thanks. Whilst he's rolling that, I probably should say I i forgot to mention I'd use half my movement speed to get on the back of the horse behind kaen What are you gripping onto? Because obviously there's no saddle here.

Speaker: It's all big. Caelan's dick. Okay. Glad we've established that. is he He's riding bareback on this one, is he? Yeah, he'd bareback on this horse. Yeah, that's bullshit. She isn't going to be able to climb up on that. ah ah Unless Caelan helped her. She's not getting up. Caelan's leant over and like put his hand out.

Speaker: Then you better use an athletics check. Ah!

Speaker: Yeah, she tried to get on, but yeah, it's good it's it's like... what I think it would know it would be Lady G's athletic check. Oh, fuck's sake. But with advantage. Yeah. Yeah, Sorry to jump in on your turn there, Will. We'll just circle back. Because I know that he obviously saved his turn. Oh, fuck, good job. It's with the advantage.

Speaker: It's a minus one on that one. Nine. Nine. A nine. It's not a classy affair if you kind of scramble up.

Speaker: You know, you you you kind of bounce up a couple of times, preparing for a bit of a jump type of thing, and just kind of scramble up the side of the horse before you can get on.

Speaker: Very un-Lady G-like. Then she'll just say, tell no one. She's behind Alessia, what was your animal handling? Uh, it was a six. I'm going to roll my, uh, psychic. Oh, do I bother? Because actually i need to get a perfect six just to get the other score. Last time I didn't do very well on a 13. No, I'm not going to waste the, yeah waste to die on that. So only got a six that time to entice the horse.

Speaker: Okay. Okay. That's a fail. We'll just briefly drop out of initiative for a brief moment because obviously plans have kind of been made. I've got one Commodore that's still trying to chase the horse that's down. He's trying to catch up to it, not doing much. The other Commodore that Lady G has been manipulating is going to move over to the left-hand barn away from Alessio just to try and...

Speaker: you know, they're convinced this person that's got a scar on their face is actually helping them out and trying to secure um what's actually happening.

Speaker: ah The fire itself is spreading across pretty much the full aspect of this barn at this moment. The rain is still seeping and pouring down.

Speaker: Um... With Alessio's animal handling check, it starts to kind of rear up again, ah this one last horse, and it's going to basically bolt.

Speaker: it is running It is running directly over to the other side of this large pen. Now, I believe Kaylin and Lady G are making their way south out of...

Speaker: um the stables of this area. Alessio, do you wish to pursue? Yes. Okay. You can catch up to it relatively easily if you really want to.

Speaker: If you wanted to try another animal hand check, you are more than welcome to do so. I'm going to cast sleep on it. Okay. Okay. Wasn't expecting that. There's a check I have to do for sleep.

Speaker: It's a wisdom saving throw you've got to make as a horse. so Well, let's do it. a Wisdom saving throw.

Speaker: I rolled a 15. Fuck off. That horse has got a power to the bonus. Fuck off. It's not got a big modifier. I just rolled really, really well.

Speaker: Fuck up um Okay, it passes. You little bitch. Possibly due to fear more than anything else. This horse is going to shake off your attempt at putting it to sleep.

Speaker: Yeah, okay. Yeah, damn it. Okay, I'll have moved my horse in pursuit of it. Okay. you know, because, you know, herd mentality, surely it sees another horse that's like really calm and it should be able to, you know, be cool with that one, but that's fine. um who who the horse possibly could be a thing, but it's also seeing an illusion of a horse in the same pen that seems to be losing it. Shit.

Speaker: Oh yeah. ah So as you approach it again, it's going to continue running and jumps over the fence.

Speaker: And he's going to start running north, deeper into... don't feel fucking bitch. The stables. um Lady G and Caelan, you guys are just pursuing that. I'm presuming you guys are just still pushing towards that exit while Alessio is in pursuit of this last ah horse. Do you want to carry on?

Speaker: Alessio is going to communicate with us saying, that other horse is fucked. It's getting too far away. Are there any other more horses we can get?

Speaker: I think there's one more that a stable hand is going after. Where is it? It's the other side of the barn from us. It's very, very far down south at this stage. The the other one that ran is probably actually near the stable exit at this moment in time because it's been running consistently at 60 feet per round.

Speaker: Down south, near south of us Way, way, way down south. Awesome. um Lady G's going to use her action to use disguise self again on herself to make her look ah in exactly the same get-up as one of these commoners that was kind of coming in to help. and She will...

Speaker: Alter her features so she doesn't look like the spitting image of them, but she will make herself look like them, change her age to look like them um while she's just on the back of this horse behind Caelan.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: The distance that you've got, a unless... you've got something that can you can do to the horse that's near the exit. Unless you've got something that can affect it within a hundred foot kind of range, this horse is basically going to bolt out the left open stable door.

Speaker: And that's only to ah Lady G and Caelan at this stage. They'll start making their way down south. Would Caelan get us closer to the door?

Speaker: Caelan, you getting us closer to the door?

Speaker: Yeah. but Then if we're closer to the door, killing the illusion of the crazy horse, and once more, if it like how close is this horse to the gate? I can see that it's darting directly towards the gate.

Speaker: You can see that it seems to be darting towards the gate. Yeah. It's literally, if it's not stopped on this round, and I use the term very loosely because we are dropping out of initiative, then it will be out of line of sight.

Speaker: Okay, what I will do is I'll try and mimic the sound of one of the commoners that was passing us by ah myself. I will cast ah a silent image with my action.

Speaker: to depict another kind of one of these commoners coming through the gates. It can't make any sound, but obviously visually it looks like it's kind of walking through and raising its hands up as like a whoa, whoa, whoa. And from where I am, that's exactly what I will do.

Speaker: Mimicking that voice of the kind of the the common bloke that's there and just say exactly that. Whoa, whoa, whoa, calm, calm, calm, hands up kind of big and wide and ah what is the range of your minor illusion I believe it's 60 feet.

Speaker: Right. Silent image. Yeah. so it's minor illusion. Isn't it? He's using silent image. She is using silent image. Yeah. Silent image. Fair enough. Fair enough. So with with that, it's not going to be stood. you're not going to have the range to get into the doorway, but you are able to put it in a location where it's got, well, the horse has line of sight on your silent image. Cool.

Speaker: um It just depends if it's going to give a shit about it or not.

Speaker: The horse starts to approach. You can see it kind of clocks your ah silent image quite easily. But it seems to ignore it.

Speaker: Maybe if you panic through fear, peace shit it's not really paying attention and it keeps bolting and it bolts straight out of the large door that has been left open.

Speaker: Cool. I'm presuming the rest of you would start bolting for the exit at this stage anyway. Yep. I can't get you the other horse and if they've not got that horse, we've got we've got three. That's fine.

Speaker: coe Alessio, you start to catch up to Kaylin and Lady G as they maybe purposely just go a little bit slower just to make sure you're all kind of in line as you start darting towards the exit of the stables. One of the barns hugely on fire.

Speaker: One commoner very poorly pursuing this horse that has bolted and one that's basically gone into an empty barn and then You've not seen what's happened to that person.

Speaker: The three of you bolt out. You head straight through the town, all three of you on horseback.

Speaker: Not without my trunk, we don't. going to say, we don't forget the trunk. LAUGHTER

Speaker: Fuck. thought we could get away with that. Caelan, Caelan, off you get. I've got about the trunk. I need a room for the trunk, Caelan. ah You can walk, Caelan.

Speaker: and We've got three horses, what are you talking that's You do a quick swing by just to grab up Lady G's trunk. Now with an additional horse that is currently not mounted,

Speaker: You start making your way out of the town. Today is the day for you three. This is the day where you have to complete your mission. There is a prime opportunity.

Speaker: You have distance to cover, traveling to do, and it's still currently the early, early hours of the morning.

Speaker: But we will pick up the rest of this as you dart yourselves out of town on horseback next week. Booyah. Thank you, Callum. You're most welcome, sir. You're welcome, done everyone.

Speaker: Yes, I've got the only saddle. I'm an elf. i get you dude um an elf They're basically Unix, right? So it doesn't really matter. and in data trumplings In my trunk, I've got saddles. I've got whips. I've got gags. I've got that we need.

Speaker: That's what talking about. And if you too would like some saddles and some whips and some all things that you need, Google it. And while you're Googling it, Google us and we're there. Thank you for making us a part your everyday week. We love you for it. Until next week, guys. Bye.
