Speaker: And welcome to Old Geezer's Talk ADHD. All right.

Speaker: Start again. I'm Paul Thompson. I was diagnosed with ADHD after 56 years of not being diagnosed. And I'm Martin West and I was diagnosed with ADHD about seven years ago. What is this podcast about, Paul?

Speaker: Yeah, what's it all about? What's it all about? You know what, Martin? God damn it, I find it really hard to find a podcast that resonates for me. So, Marty said, why don't you do it? Why don't you do it, Paul? You do that podcast that resonates for you. I said, well, why don't we do it together? I said, okay. And here it is. And here it is.

Speaker: One of the thing that came to me, Martin, was that I like what we'll be doing. It's like, maybe talk about the stuff that nobody else talks about. So, our podcast was going to be about, you know, that kind of like soft kind of couch, you know, easy kind of conversation, informal. And just really coming along for the ride, because at the end of the day, you know, me and Martin, we haven't talked, have we, Martin? Really that much about our ADHD.

Speaker: Not really. And really, you're kind of coming along for the ride as we discover stuff about ourselves, each other. Absolutely. So this is a podcast about the journey of us two, and we hope that you learn some stuff along the way about yourself. Yeah.

Speaker: So this podcast takes place in a fictitious little town that we call ADHDville. And what is that all about? I think it kind of comes from what we were saying earlier, that we didn't want to do the traditional, in a host guest format. And we were talking about some of our old childhood shows like Trumpton,

Speaker: which, you know, the American equivalent, I guess, is something like Sesame Street or something, where you have this place that you go to, and we kind of wanted to kind of evoke some of that. So we are the mayors of ADHDville,

Speaker: And there are different parts of this town that we go to in order for us to talk about different subjects. So if we go to the coffee shop, you know, that's just us having a casual conversation, or we could go to the library to learn something or about education.

Speaker: So that's our framework, if you like, the kind of gives this show a little bit something different. Yeah. From my point of view, I like the idea of it being kind of feet on the ground in terms of what we talk about. There's already plenty of stuff out there. There's a bit, I don't know, a bit in your face. It's a bit kind of, to my mind, sometimes even aggressive. This other stuff is a bit

Speaker: bit too much of a lean towards victimhood, which, you know, kind of like to avoid. Also, there's a lot of misinformation out there, we will do our best to like, as I say, keep our feet in the ground and do some of that filtering for you, you know, it's like, okay, well, it's gonna say what you need to hear, never want to put it like that. It's not what you need to hear. It's like, you know, you know, keeping it chill, keeping it easy. Nice.

Speaker: All right. Well, this podcast drops every Tuesday on Apple podcast, Google podcasts and Spotify. Please subscribe, rate and comment. It's really important to us.

Speaker: Um, and we will be covering off many, uh, episodes about all aspects of, uh, ADHD. I think our current, um, topic list runs over, over a hundred. So, uh, it is well, it's on the cusp. Let's see how far we get. It's on a cusp of a hundred. We, we, we, we like, we hope you come along for the ride. There you go. Absolutely. Come and join us. All right. In the meantime, let me hit the outro button.

Speaker: Yeah, in the meantime, just be fucking kind to yourself. All right, see you soon. Ciao for now.
