Transcript

Bob: Week four, and we've got a couple happy hosts. We're going to tell you why. Let's dive right in.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Welcome back to Making Waves, an NFL confidence pool podcast. I'm your host, Mac.

Bob: And I'm your host, Bob.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And we do have two very happy hosts. I love that intro, Bob. Very happy hosts this week because we both had a great week three. And actually, real quick, believe it or not, you probably won't believe us, we did record a week three podcast podcast.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I posted it and everything Friday morning.

Bob: yep

Mackenzie Forgacs: And I quickly realized that for whatever reason, the people, the universe, I don't know who, didn't want to hear what Bob had to say because all of his audio was cut.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And so we ended up having to pull back down. And you guys missed a good one, I must say, but it's just going to have to live in our minds, Bob. just going to have to hold on to that memory.

Bob: Unbelievable. Yeah, I mean, it's kind of it's kind of nice that it's just, you know, we get one episode just for us, did it just for the love of the game. um But I can concur. We recorded, we set up, we did it for about an hour, stuffed some marshmallows in my mouth, had a really good back and forth, couple good ads, um and the world will never know.

Bob: So that's a little bit of a bummer.

Mackenzie Forgacs: The world will never hear it. It's like, it's like if a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound? If making waves records and it's never posted, did we actually do it?

Bob: It's great question. And the thing is yeah yeah, I guess that's one of the one of the mysteries of the world.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You'll never know the answer.

Bob: We'll never know. Shoot.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We will never know. It's like, also, you will never know how many licks does it take to get the center of titsapop.

Bob: Dang it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You'll just never know.

Bob: Well, you could know that. it would take a long time, but you could know.

Mackenzie Forgacs: The world may never know.

Bob: We may never know.

Mackenzie Forgacs: But in all seriousness, we really did do a podcast last week. I am extra bummed because Bob had to give a few compliments to the Lions. It was a bet that we made. He had to shove marshmallows in his mouth. And for every marshmallow he made, he put in his mouth, he had to give a compliment. So it is pretty unfortunate. That was pretty good episode to not work.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So don't know.

Bob: Yeah, for me.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Should we, should you give some more compliments the Lions today? Or are you?

Bob: Yeah, well, I feel like that's kind of a one and done, and that's the universe telling us it didn't work for a reason.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah. okay and

Bob: i don't think we could play with karma anymore because if we do it again, the podcast might not record again in post.

Mackenzie Forgacs: you're right you're right we can't you're right we can't risk it you're right because we have only done the first week we had to take a break the second week due to some some stuff that came up for your work um and then

Bob: So we can't we can't leave the the wave riders ah waiting for an episode for three weeks. Two two weeks too long enough.

Bob: Yep, you were busy, so.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, things were, but I was busy.

Bob: Yep, you were busy, so we had to miss it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, I was, oh, interesting. I remember being at home thinking, oh, if only I was recording a podcast right now and dang it.

Bob: Yeah.

Bob: i was ah sitting at home waiting by the computer.

Mackenzie Forgacs: But yeah, you're right. Three weeks is too long. So I guess we'll just not tempt the fates, fate ah but football gods, if you will. We won't tempt them.

Bob: The greater powers. Yes, I think that's good.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yes, the greater powers that are.

Bob: but Good call by us.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, but we can talk and and thank the football gods and the football powers for week three. I mean, why are you so happy, Bob?

Bob: I am so happy because my boys, Ben Johnson, Caleb Williams, All of Chicago, we we did it. We collectively, all of us did it. And I hope you hear me slamming my fist because I'm so happy.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I hear it.

Bob: We did it. We won a game. We are riding high. Caleb and Ben, what we imagined all offseason when that marriage happened, finally came to fruition.

Bob: Trick plays, Hal Marys, flea flickers, touchdowns, four touchdowns for Caleb Williams. ah man I had I had I'm a happy happy I had to keep pinching myself because i thought wow this really can be fun on a Sunday and I can smile and have a good day so I'm I'm really happy and it just feels like even when the kids were were not really behaving at school this week it just felt like everything was going to be okay because Ben Johnson has arrived and the Bears are are thriving so that's

Mackenzie Forgacs: You're a happy boy. You're a happy pappy.

Mackenzie Forgacs: It can be.

Bob: That's why I'm happy. You also seem seem a little happier than previous weeks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I'm pretty happy.

Bob: Why are you happy?

Mackenzie Forgacs: I've got a bit of a glow about me. I must say, you know, week one, it was tough.

Bob: You do. Yeah.

Mackenzie Forgacs: It was tough to lose to the, to the Packers week one, just come out and, oh man, all off season, everybody was saying, you know, these aren't going to be the same old lions.

Bob: Gone.

Mackenzie Forgacs: This was Ben Johnson's team. He left, he went to the bears, Aaron Glenn, he's off with the jets.

Bob: Gone.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Grass is greener, the Lions are going downhill, and you know what? Week one, I was nervous. I gotta admit, it didn't look great. But you know what? My boys, they stood up, they took a few kneecaps with them along the way, and since then, week two, they scored 52 points against the lowly, lowly Chicago Bears.

Bob: What? Hey.

Bob: Huh?

Mackenzie Forgacs: And I was happy. I was a happy, happy week too. But I was like, yeah, it's the Bears. You know, it's, I'm glad we won in such a, just astounding fashion. But I was like, you know, we'll see what happens.

Bob: well

Mackenzie Forgacs: You know, lightning can strike and and we gotta, we gotta to see if this can continue with our O-line protecting Jared. And you know what? Week three, Jared said, I will lose to the Baltimore Ravens no more.

Mackenzie Forgacs: It ends with me.

Bob: Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: The buck stops here. We went on to win. We beat the Baltimore Ravens pretty well, as I might add. 38-30, the Ravens got a last-minute field goal.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So it really was like 38-23. Not last-minute field goal. Last-minute touchdown. Really, it was like 38 to 23. I mean, it was beautiful. It was a thing of beauty. I think we had seven or eight sacks on Lamar freaking Jackson. Are you kidding me?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, we are just looking like the Lions that I got to know, got to love, got to cheer for. And am quite happy.

Bob: Um, I feel like that was an unnecessary low, low shot, a little bit of a low blow.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Sorry. very Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.

Bob: I feel like i just took a stray bullet. I'm just sitting here.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No, you're right.

Bob: in my

Mackenzie Forgacs: You're right. You didn't deserve that.

Bob: I'm just sitting here minding my own business.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You didn't deserve that because you were happy as well. And I didn't mean to bring you down. I just was, they didn't, the fans didn't get to hear my joy from week three of the Bearsby Lions.

Bob: Well,

Mackenzie Forgacs: And they didn't to hear you complimenting the Lions. So I had to just bring it up a little bit.

Bob: yeah, but I was there.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.

Bob: I heard, I heard it already.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You did, but like, don't know. Did it really happen? Like, can you just wipe the slate clean or?

Bob: I can confirm it did happen. um And now I'm the one having a freaky Friday.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. Well, sorry, but not that sorry.

Bob: Yeah. going to say, are you sorry? That doesn't seem like you are.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, and you know why we're, will say though, let's give, let's be a team again, Bob. Another reason we're both very happy is because the Green Bay Packers got upset this past weekend by the Cleveland Browns, right?

Mackenzie Forgacs: We're a team again, right?

Bob: I could absolutely get behind that. We we are a team there for sure. ah We lost a lot of points ah with them losing, but you know i think we can both agree that we could lose 16 points every single week.

Mackenzie Forgacs: True.

Bob: If the Packers are losing, we're happy. And you know what? If the Cowboys beat them, then we lose 10, 15, however many points. We'll be pretty dang happy. So I like that a lot.

Mackenzie Forgacs: For sure. All right. I like it. Well, I'm glad you're happy, Bob. I hope it didn't bring you too far down. um

Bob: You did.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, I'm going to be bringing you down a little bit further because we have some games that we disagree on this week that we can jump into our weekly face-off as we talk about these games that we disagree on.

Bob: Great.

Bob: Nice.

Mackenzie Forgacs: If you could reach back your memory banks all the way back to week one, we are starting. Oh, he's patting his head. He's reaching back.

Bob: Got it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: He's reaching back.

Bob: Got it. I got it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We are starting a new format where we are going to go head-to-head in the games we disagree on and then pretty quickly go through the rest of the games that we do agree on.

Bob: Found it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So with that, I think it's time to jump into week four of the face-off.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop.

Bob: Oh,

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. So with that week four of face-off, have two games that we disagree on. We have the Seattle Seahawks versus the Arizona Cardinals, and that game is actually tonight.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And then we have the New England Patriots versus the Carolina Panthers.

Bob: baby.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Wait a minute. Hold your horses. Somebody picked the Carolina Panthers?

Bob: well

Mackenzie Forgacs: Is this freaking La La Land?

Bob: yeah

Mackenzie Forgacs: No, it's not. yeah Oh, you bet it is.

Bob: You bet your bottom dollar someone picked the Panthers.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So stick around and see who it was.

Bob: and

Bob: Yeah, I'm just saying I can't believe she did it, but you bet your bottom dollar somebody did.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Let's just say I can't wait to hear the reasoning why. So with that, let's kick it off with the Thursday night game. As I said, it's the Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I'll go ahead and start us off. I'm going to get our timer ready here. If you'll remember, everybody, Bob and I both have one minute to plead our case for who we selected.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So with that, I chose...

Bob: what One minute, though, because, oh oh yeah hey, you cannot restart it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No, that's the but time didn't actually start. I did, because you're chatting. What? were you say?

Bob: i was going to say, this week, let's make sure we don't, I don't know, elongate it 105, 110.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, interesting.

Bob: Let's stop it at one minute this time, ma'am. Thank you very a little.

Mackenzie Forgacs: It's interesting that you're drawing all the way back to week one when last week I was under a minute and I believe somebody pleaded their case to have a minute and 10 seconds, which was granted to them.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So.

Bob: yeah That was nice. But if a tree falls in the woods, does it really fall in the woods?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Does it make a sound?

Bob: the classic The classic debate. But no, I am really excited to hear this because I am i am very firm in the sand on this one. but

Mackenzie Forgacs: I am very firm in the sand on both of mine, so.

Bob: have

Bob: Oh, interesting how that works. Well, good luck.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Very interesting. All right. Well, here we go. So Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals. I chose the Seahawks. These two teams actually are very comparable in their schedule so far. So for the first three weeks, they have both played the Saints and they have both played the 49ers.

Mackenzie Forgacs: They have both beat the Saints and they both lost to the 49ers in a pretty close fashion. So I think the best way to do this is to look back at how they won. Seahawks beat the Saints handedly this past weekend 44 to 13 Cardinals barely beat them a backup quarterback who's never won a game they beat them 20 to 13 and the reason why is because the Seahawks air it out more than they run but the Cardinals play a pretty even game of passing and running and guess who just got hurt their starting running back James Connor he is out no more run game for the Cardinals

Mackenzie Forgacs: The Seattle Seahawks defense, which is a very strong defense, going to eat them alive. And I am curious what you have to say because that's all I have.

Bob: Good 102. Let's see the timer.

Mackenzie Forgacs: With the bell, it's back zero.

Bob: Oh, she she cleared the timer. I think that might have said 108 on it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: um I'm just saying was done and I said I'm curious what you have to say. That was at least like five seconds.

Bob: and Okay, well.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All you want 102? Fine, you can have 102 because know you

Bob: Thanks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Did you even listen that argument? Because that's pretty good.

Bob: That was a very good argument. I was also pulling up one thing as you were saying that. I did hear it about the run game, heard what you said about James Conner, and I heard what you said about the Seahawks. Yeah, I heard what you said.

Bob: i heard it

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right, well, I'm curious your response and go ahead whenever you're ready.

Bob: Ready. Yeah, interesting points there. And I tip my cap to you, ma'am. I'm really slowing into this because I have a couple really hard points that are really going to slam home. So, yeah.

Bob: um did the Did the Seahawks win you know a couple of semi-impressive games? Sure. Did the Cardinals lose to a Mac Jones-led 49ers team?

Bob: Yeah, but... The Cardinals and 49ers were still both 2-0. It was a close game. The Cardinals blew it at the very end.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Thank you.

Bob: couple drop passes by Marvin Harrison. Some bad, bad beats with the James Conner. Injury definitely hurts them. Benson, their backup. He's on my fantasy. um He is on my fantasy dynasty team.

Bob: Stud. This is in Arizona. Arizona historically does very well against the Seahawks at home. And I just think Kyler Murray is a much better quarterback than... Then Darnold Darnold had a really good year until the end.

Bob: He had a good system in Minnesota. He's been struggling in Seattle. Kyler is great at home. I think that they take this game at home tonight. Oh, I really slow. It was really a slow start.

Mackenzie Forgacs: a You did that to yourself. I was like, a minute's actually really fast. I wouldn't waste any time.

Bob: um Can you remind me what – I know you put in the chat a couple weeks ago, and I can't remember, and i'm I'm a baby, so I can't remember. um

Mackenzie Forgacs: just the baby.

Bob: What did you have? I'm just baby. What did you have for the Seahawks and what I have for the Cardinals?

Mackenzie Forgacs: So I have the Seahawks tonight for seven and you have the Cardinals for three.

Bob: you would Gosh.

Mackenzie Forgacs: oh my gosh.

Bob: what What do you have in your mug over there? What the –

Mackenzie Forgacs: What do you mean what do have in my mind? The Seahawks defense is looking freaking stellar. Their offense is also looking great. They're probably getting Zach Charbonnet back tonight as well. It's lot of things going right for the Seahawks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I'm just saying.

Bob: Can I say one more point? I know this is not kosher. Can I say one more point?

Mackenzie Forgacs: If I can also say one more point.

Bob: Okay, deal. one Just one point, and then you say one point. Or do you want to go first?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Go for it.

Bob: Okay. The two teams that – I'm say your Seahawks because it's your argument. Your Seahawks have beaten are the Saints, which I think it's pretty widely believed that the Saints are far and away the worst team in the NFL this year.

Bob: I think we can agree on that fact.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Totally agree. i think we can, we agree with that.

Bob: Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.

Bob: Thank you. Okay. Giants, unfortunately, sorry, Eli, probably aren't far behind. um But yeah, the the Saints are hapless. Rattler is horrendous, and they're just not a good team.

Bob: So yeah, they won by a lot. But yeah, I think the yeah you know this this school for the the blind could probably beat the Saints at this point.

Mackenzie Forgacs: no Okay.

Bob: Sorry, New Orleans. Sorry, New Orleans. That's a little joke my dad always used to say as a kid. um The other win, Steelers. Yeah, I mean, they beat the Steelers, but the Steelers don't look like the Steelers of old. They've been letting up a lot of points on defense, and Aaron Rodgers has for sure lost a couple steps.

Bob: And interestingly enough, the team they lost to is a team that the Cardinals also just lost to. Yes, they had Brock Purdy, but Niners don't really look like the same Niners. They lost to the Niners, um and their two wins, I'm not too impressed with their two wins.

Mackenzie Forgacs: They lost to the the Mac Jones-led Niners.

Bob: Yeah, well, You know, potato patato.

Mackenzie Forgacs: But they don't put that up. Well, I mean, a rebuttal to that point is you're trying to say, oh, look who they beat. Wasn't that great teams? The um Cardinals beat the Saints.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Also, we've agreed on that already. And the Panthers was the second team.

Bob: No, don't I don't agree with that. I don't agree with that.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So also not good teams. I think the Steelers are better than the Panthers.

Bob: Oh, we'll have an interesting debate in this next topic, then.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, yeah, we sure will. Okay, here's my point. Here's my last point that I'm going to make. And i'm I'm sorry, but we're not moving on this.

Bob: Yep.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Sam Darnold, middle the pack. Like you said, he's not like the best ever. Totally agree with that. But he had a great season last year. I think they're finding his rhythm again this year with a new team.

Mackenzie Forgacs: He's middle of the pack when it comes to passing in the first three weeks. He averages, he's at 14th position for overall passer rating right now so far in the first three weeks.

Bob: No.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You want where Kyler Murray

Bob: Not

Mackenzie Forgacs: 25th in passing. So you're telling me they lost their lead running back and now they're going rely on the quarterback of 32 quarterbacks in passer rating?

Bob: not too bad.

Bob: that's That's what I'm trying to tell you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Then you think you're going to win against pretty strong Seattle defense.

Bob: Yeah. that

Bob: Yeah. Strong sprong. I don't know why I'm doing that. ah ah

Mackenzie Forgacs: Strong, strong.

Bob: I don't know why doing that as my opinion.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Bong, bong.

Bob: How about this? Because I'm.

Mackenzie Forgacs: about this? How about we look at our record over the course of the past three three weeks

Bob: How about we don't? How about we? how about We'll all laugh about this later on. What is our record this year after last week?

Mackenzie Forgacs: So last week we tried to do this. Obviously the the listeners do not know we were, we could not come to an agreement. So we said, whoever's leading and head to head gets kind of the, uh, the power, if you will, to make the ultimate decisions going into week three, i had picked correctly three out of the five games that we had disagreed on.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So Bob had picked correctly two out of the five games.

Bob: pretty It's pretty close. It's about as even as gets.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Last week we chose two incorrectly and we both got one wrong. So now I have chosen five out of the seven correctly and you have chosen, um no wait, sorry, sorry, sorry.

Bob: was going to say what?

Mackenzie Forgacs: I've chosen four out of the seven and you have chosen three out of the seven. So pretty but four, I think, and I'm not great at math.

Bob: Pretty.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I think four might be higher than three. Okay.

Bob: um I am pretty good at math. I think you're wrong. I think three is greater.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, okay. All right.

Bob: I think the derivative of three is higher than the derivative and the square root times two. um

Mackenzie Forgacs: Uh, you're, you're talking like a fifth grade teacher or something.

Bob: you know

Mackenzie Forgacs: Are you a fifth grade teacher?

Bob: Well, you know, I'm learning a couple of things. Am I smarter than a fifth grader?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Bob: or No. Am I fifth grade teacher? Yes. um Here's my thing. Okay. If you get, well we'll talk. Okay. We can discuss after the next argument because I i i do feel more confident in my next argument.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay. More confident in your next argument?

Bob: Correct.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Bob: Absolutely correct. And I knew you were going to.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Sorry if you all just got sprayed on by that from me, but that's probably coming through the mic.

Bob: Yeah, I felt that. I felt that in I felt that. Yeah.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right, you're up. So next up we have the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers. So Bob, you go ahead kick it off. Tell us why, sorry, tell us why you're picking the Carolina Panthers.

Bob: yeah ah Something, sorry, something funny before you start. Oh, you so she started it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, no, I'm restarting.

Bob: She started it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No, nothing nothing's funny.

Bob: Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Sorry, I just read Carolina Panthers. Okay, ready?

Bob: Okay. Allergy. Yep.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Go.

Bob: Okay. Hey, what what do you call it when you do the same thing over and over again and you expect different results? Hmm. That is called insanity. And the hooligans and making waves are starting to become insane.

Bob: And I feel like we've gotten in a bad, not a bad, but we've gotten in a little bit of habit of looking at two teams and thinking, huh, this team is for sure better than the other team. We got to go with team A. We haven't won in a lot of weeks.

Bob: And i'm I'm starting to try to just – I'm trying to switch things up. Turn the other foot. And the other foot is that last week the Panthers beat the absolute explicit shit out of the Falcons 30-0.

Bob: Patriots, meanwhile, have one win this season. They lost to the Raiders, not a good team. They lost the Steelers, very average team. They beat the 0-3 Dolphins in a very close game. The Panthers might be the Panthers.

Bob: They got good rookies. They got a Bryce Young who is much improved, and I don't see anything in this Patriots offense that I'm impressed by. Panthers are coming off a hot game. They won 30-0, and I think they're good.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Um,

Bob: i So pushing right through

Mackenzie Forgacs: um, excuse you.

Bob: I'm pushing through it. Sorry, you're I'm getting hit with left and and right hooks, I'm pushing through. it And I think the Panthers are going to build off this success. I am going to put my absolute name on this.

Bob: I'm going to put my name on this.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, you're over 20 seconds at this point.

Bob: I'm to put my name on this and my entire reputation as a podcast host that the Panthers win this game. I feel so a type of way about this. Sorry.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You feel really good.

Bob: minute Oh, it hit a minute. It hit a minute.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You feel, ah, so close. You almost had it under a minute.

Bob: Shoot.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So close. 30 seconds over, but just really, really close. You feet are going to stake your entire podcast career on a confidence level of two.

Bob: Yes.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You selected the Panthers at two. I selected the Patriots at 10.

Bob: I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that. I literally had to rub my eyes and say I'm tired, but something has to be there.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the Panthers. And here, I'm gonna start right now. Let me say that again. You are gonna trust the Carolina Panthers? Are you kidding me?

Bob: No.

Mackenzie Forgacs: What am I living in again? i think I'm living in La La Land. I understand that, you know, things have not been and what we hoped for the Patriots. I get that he has not been what everybody thought he was gonna come in, but let's also remember he's brand new, right?

Mackenzie Forgacs: This is incredibly common for rookie QBs to throw interceptions. It's expected. They know that's going to happen, but you know why he's throwing picks because he is throwing the ball.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Drake may is a top five passing leader so far this year, throwing for 785 yards through the first three weeks And guess what his completion percentage is? 72.6% completion percentage.

Mackenzie Forgacs: There's one other quarterback with a higher completion percentage this year in the first three weeks. Want to know who that is? Jared Goff! Jared Goff! Jared Goff! He's throwing the ball.

Bob: Who's that?

Mackenzie Forgacs: He's doing what he's supposed to do. Panthers have no secondary. He's going to eat them up. And you know what?

Bob: A minute.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't even need that extra 30 seconds.

Bob: I take those nuggets up. I put them in my diaper and I fling them.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Why are they in your diaper?

Bob: And but I take them and I fling them.

Mackenzie Forgacs: am beasting on those nuggets and they are dipped in buffalo sauce. They are dipped in ranch. Yes, ranch. Delicious. And they are just nom, nom, nom, right in my mouth.

Bob: And you know what? Nuggets might be delicious, but, and that's a fancy completion percentage. And that's really nice that he's number two in the NFL. But all I see when I'm looking at the Patriots is a loss at home to the Raiders, a loss at home to the Steelers and a tight win

Mackenzie Forgacs: You're right, it is at home.

Bob: against a winless Dolphins team. So, hey, my boy my boy Drake May could have a 99% completion ratio. If they're losing at home to semi-okay average teams, then I'm putting that in my diaper and I'm flinging it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Fine. Fling it all you want. There's no way the Carolina Panthers are going back to back weeks with a W. I will eat my freaking self. You know what? I'll eat your diaper.

Mackenzie Forgacs: That's how confident I am.

Bob: Okay. Okay. Deal. I'm going to ship that overnight on Sunday night. It'll be there Monday and you'll start your week off by eating a diaper.

Mackenzie Forgacs: There is no way. There's literally no way.

Bob: i okay. I, and I understand that on paper, two franchises couldn't be more different. Panthers, absolute atrocious, dumpster fire, Patriots or the Patriots, Patriot way.

Bob: But we have really struggled in confidence pool the last, and we, we've, we've been okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I agree.

Bob: A couple weeks, but we really haven't been at the end. And I think it's because we pick like everybody else. We see Patriots, we see Panthers. Huh? i There's something in my gut.

Bob: There's something brewing that is...

Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't know. Maybe you should take a gas X. I mean, it's not.

Bob: yeah There's something that's brewing.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You need Pepto-Bismol? Feel free.

Bob: I could, but Panthers just beat the freaking Falcons, who beat, I mind you, a solid Vikings team,

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay, I'm sorry. The Falcons are not a team to, like, go up at, like...

Bob: but But did you see what they did? Did you see what they did? The Falcons on Sunday night in Minnesota the week before they absolutely shiz on them.

Mackenzie Forgacs: But are you trying to tell me, though, that the Falcons are, like, a barometer of success? There's no way.

Bob: I don't think they're that that's a very nice term. They're barometer of success. I don't think the Falcons are barometer of success, but they beat the absolute living breaks off of the Vikings the week before.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You're right. They did. And that is impressive.

Bob: And but.

Mackenzie Forgacs: To hold any team to zero, I will give you that. That is impressive. What I will say, though, interdivisional matchups, that's an entirely different ballgame, in my opinion. Anything can – weird stuff happens interdivisional

Bob: what

Bob: i I agree, and and I feel like when when emotions are high and you're playing your ah division ah foe that's riding high from beating the snot out of a 14-win team from last year, and then you absolutely – just egg them with a 30 to nothing drubbing. I feel like that's like, Oh, these, these Panthers, they're, uh, there's something to be messed with a little bit here.

Bob: And that's why I'm sitting there today. I'm drinking my coffee. My kids are testing.

Mackenzie Forgacs: but quoy

Bob: So I'm, I'm chilling at my desk and I say, you know what? My gut tells me that the Cardinals are winning and the Panthers are winning. It's like, it was a sign from the heavens.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No shot.

Bob: And i'm i um my my my feet are dug on this one. My feet are dug.

Mackenzie Forgacs: My feet are dug as well. There's literally no shot. I'm at a loss for words.

Bob: Your feet are dug on both. what What am I supposed to do with that?

Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't know. What are you going to do with it?

Bob: You want me to undig them?

Mackenzie Forgacs: I don't know what to tell you, Bob. I'm not picking the Carolina Panthers.

Bob: You got you gotta to work with me here.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Do I?

Bob: yeah i'd love I'd love for you to. It'd be really appreciated. what What if we went... And you know what? I'm going to come in here just like an absolute biatch.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I cannot wait to rub your face in your own diaper next week.

Bob: I can't wait to You know, you don't have to eat it until we record later in the week. And I can't... might have to be early in the week with next week. But I can't wait... to absolutely. And I will be smelling the roses and I will be singing my own praises and I will be coming in here walking like an absolute G saying, told you so, told you so, told you so. Because here I am live Thursday night, September 25th, 544 Central Standard Time telling you that the Carolina Panthers are beating.

Bob: i don't even know who are they playing. I don't even care. I can't even remember the pat the Patriots.

Mackenzie Forgacs: They're playing in the Patriots.

Bob: This Sunday, I'm telling you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: and Ken, you're saying at Gillette Stadium? You are absolutely crazy.

Bob: i said I said it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I know you've had a long week, but you have lost your brain.

Bob: I'm standing on it. I'm scrouch down.

Bob: Hey, I'm clear-minded. It's like I've seen the light and I'm sticking to it. I feel like I have, like, something's telling me Panthers and I'm going with it. And if you if you take this away from me, you'll be taking away this this light that I'm all of sudden seeing.

Bob: don't take the weight Don't take the light away from me.

Mackenzie Forgacs: If you take this away from us, we're about to lose 10 points. 12.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We're going to be down 12 additional points because we're going put two on the Panthers, a losing team, when we could have put 10 on the Patriots, the winning team.

Bob: well Well, you know,

Bob: or we're gaining 12 points from everybody in the league because I don't think anyone else is picking Panthers.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, agree because they're smart.

Bob: You're going to take that you're gonna take that away from hooligans when we could gain that many points on the field. Panthers, McKenzie, Panthers, I'm screaming. screaming.

Bob: ah we're playing It's like we're playing werewolf and I'm screaming. I'm, I am a villager. I'm a villager. And you guys cut me at this.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And really, you're a werewolf.

Bob: You cut me at the fricking, you take my, the pitchforks and you stab them through me. Oh man, we killed a villager. I wish we would've listened to Bobby. Well, too damn late now. We lost 12 points.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, well, that's too damn bad because actually you're a werewolf. I trouble Maja and you're not, you're the werewolf now.

Bob: No, well, that's that. dad I don't know how to put that in NFL terms.

Mackenzie Forgacs: For anyone that doesn't know this game, for anyone that doesn't know this game,

Bob: Um, I don't know how to put that in NFL terms.

Mackenzie Forgacs: They're to be like, what in hell? All right. Well, we better decide at least for tonight. And we can do that off air because we've got 14 other games to get to. But I, yeah, but I am not, I don't know that I'm budging my friend.

Bob: And we're at 30 minutes.

Bob: Yeah, well, um i'm um'm a I'm not a werewolf. i've i think You're giving me werewolf vibes right now. We'll have to talk off air, I'm have talk to my team, and we might have to come after you. So we'll we'll talk off air.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Well, we'll decide.

Bob: We'll bring this one off air. We do need to figure out tonight now, though, because I need to put in the picks, like, within the hour.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You're right. You do. So are you willing to go with the Seahawks?

Bob: Just, I don't know. Are you willing to go with the Panthers on Sunday?

Mackenzie Forgacs: No.

Bob: Okay, well then I'm going to be a real

Mackenzie Forgacs: So you're saying if we go Cardinals tonight, then we can go with the Patriots?

Bob: I'll consider it a little bit more for sure.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No, we're going so Seattle and we're going Patriots. And I'm invoking my power of having the most wins right now.

Bob: Man, that'd be ah that'd be a damn shame if someone had the login information and someone didn't. Gosh, I would hate.

Mackenzie Forgacs: and That would be a damn shame.

Bob: that would That would, okay. How about this? I will promise right now that we can go Patriots. Not happy about it. We can go Patriots if you let me go Cardinals tonight.

Mackenzie Forgacs: For less than three.

Bob: Sure. Three or less.

Mackenzie Forgacs: There goes three points. Sure.

Bob: I'm going to text you tonight and say, hey, and you you don't need to give me an apology. Just maybe like a little like head nod or like, hey, happy that you spoke up and stood for what you believe in.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. Yeah, we'll see. And I expect the same from you next week.

Bob: app Hey, it goes both ways. That's that's friendship. And if I'm wrong, I'll put my pants on my ankles and say I am wrong.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And eat your diaper.

Bob: If I can beat my diaper, but I'll put my pants on my... i Folks, i also, I do not wear a diaper. I don't know why I said that.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, sure, Bob.

Bob: Just wanted to throw that out there.

Bob: Just wanted to throw that out there. But you know what? well Thank you for that. We'll go Cardinals tonight. We'll discuss off air if we're going to go Panthers or Patriots, and we'll we'll move on.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No, no, no, no.

Bob: Sorry. Okay. I take it back. Sorry.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Either we're going Seahawks-Patriots or you can have Cardinals for less than three Patriots.

Bob: Fine. Cardinals three or less than Patriots.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Fine.

Bob: Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: This is why we lose, everybody.

Bob: Okay. it I'm going to look like a genius. I need that.

Mackenzie Forgacs: and don't

Bob: I need this episode.

Mackenzie Forgacs: i don't think I don't think it's picking the teams that aren't expected to win. I think it's because we can't agree and we usually end up picking incorrectly.

Bob: I need this episode to air because i'm gonna look I might get hired by ESPN when they sit they think they find out that I picked the two teams.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You might. You really might. We'll see.

Bob: Or I might have an egg on my face. We'll find out, though, soon, folks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: My money's on the ladder. But all right, moving on to, so that's Thursday night games already covered.

Bob: yeah Could be. Could be.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Moving on to Sunday. Sunday morning, we have a game over in your old Stop and Grounds, Dublin, Ireland. We have the Minnesota Vikings at the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Mackenzie Forgacs: ah Bob and I both chose the Vikings here. I chose them at five. Bob chose them at 11. Wow, that is a very confident choice in the Minnesota Vikings.

Bob: excuse me

Mackenzie Forgacs: I mean, they did absolutely stomp on... um b Who did they just stomp on? The Falcons?

Bob: the bangles

Mackenzie Forgacs: No. The Bengals. They absolutely stomped on the Bengals this past weekend. And they looked great with Carson Wentz behind them. I definitely think they're going to continue to roll. Pittsburgh Steelers, I think, have a little bit of a better defense than the Bengals. But I do still think there's going no problem there. And so we've got the Minnesota Vikings taking home the dub Dublin.

Mackenzie Forgacs: dub

Bob: Oh, i see what you did there. Okay. um Yeah, i I agree with Mac. I was a little bit more confident, sounds like, in the Vikings. They are coming off of a great game. Carson Wentz looks good.

Bob: Looks like a very serviceable backup. um And yeah, i think they're gonna I think they're going to win pretty handily. So um'm I'm with you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right, good deal. Next up, kicking off the one o'clock slate of games. And oh, sorry, this just in before the one o'clock slate of games. We have a quick word from our sponsors.

Bob: you can You can't do that mid-round.

Mackenzie Forgacs: we I just heard on the earpiece they want a quick go to commercial, so.

Bob: Oh, shoot. Okay. This ad is brought to you by... It's brought to you by... There's no brand on this.

Bob: Amore Candles. Amore, that's amore. Get your candles for you, get your candles for your love, that's amore.

Bob: Had a long day, take a bath, put a candle on the rim, that's amore. If you want to just have some self-love or a date, that's amore.

Bob: That's amore. Cinnamon flavor, vanilla flavor, or peppermint. Choose your flavor. Choose your adventure. That's amore. candles $14.99.

Bob: three candles for fourteen ninety nine Two candles for candle four ninety nine that ah morere

Mackenzie Forgacs: Wow. It really, it kept going, which was great. But what, I mean, if you don't hear from ESPN, I think you might hear from American Idol that the voice was just, that was a voice of an angel right there.

Bob: You're too kind. I appreciate that. i I had a long day talking and um you know just redirecting fifth graders, so I feel like my voice is little raspy.

Mackenzie Forgacs: The vocal cords.

Bob: So i don't know if you can hear the rasp in a little vibrato, but the kids are making sure that I got the vibrato.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No, I think they were warmed up.

Bob: So thank thank you for the compliment. I appreciate it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, I think the vocal cords were a little warmed up. It sounded great.

Bob: They certainly were. Well, hey I appreciate it. That's amore.

Mackenzie Forgacs: That's Amore. That's a great candle brand.

Bob: Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So with that, with candles on the mind, let's move on to the one o'clock slate of names. Maybe you'll light a quick candle while you're flipping on the TV, turn into NFL Network.

Bob: Nice.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And here we go. You've got the Washington Commanders app, as you said, the shit Atlanta Falcons. We both chose the Commanders here. I put them at six. You put them at ten. Why don't you give us the reasoning why?

Bob: Yeah, I was wondering how going to that transition with Atsamore, but nicely done. She's still got it, folks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, trying.

Bob: ah That was very good.

Mackenzie Forgacs: little rus speak little rusty, little rusty.

Bob: Nice. Yeah, you absolutely still got it. That was nice. um Yeah, I got the Commanders winning this game. Falcons, I i was thinking could be a solid squad after they they embarrassed the heck out of ah the Vikings, after they embarrassed the heck out of my boys a couple weeks ago.

Bob: um But yeah, then all of a sudden, Panics had the worst game of his career. I think I read he was like 18 to 36, 100-some yards, two interceptions. Falcons always are a team you expect to be solid, and then they just never get it done. um, commanders, Jaden Daniels is back to questionable to probable. If he plays, this is a slam dunk.

Bob: Even if he doesn't play, I still think the commander is going to beat the, uh, the Falcons. And that's why i had it. It was a tough week. Um, that's why I had them, I think in the upper single digits, um, Falcons just kind of, ah okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: ah You had them at 10. 10, I said.

Bob: So very high, ah single digits. So yeah, I, I, I do not think the the Falcons are good.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep. Single digits.

Bob: And I think, The commanders are going to prove that on on Sunday.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Totally. Yeah, if Jaden Daniels ends up playing, I say we bump this. High teens, honestly.

Bob: I'm with you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah.

Bob: I'm with you on that for sure.

Mackenzie Forgacs: wonderful we will keep an eye on that uh next up this is an easy ding ding ding we have the new orleans saints at the buffalo bills bob and i both obviously chose the saints for 16 psych we chose the bills obviously for 16 i mean i don't even think i need to say anything here saints bad bills really really good

Bob: Let's go. Duh.

Bob: yeah

Mackenzie Forgacs: This is it. I think we're both eating diapers if the Bills end up losing this one, because there's there's just no way.

Bob: If the Bills lose this one, we're eating a lot of diapers. Yeah, I got nothing else to say. Bills, Super Bowl. um Saints, toilet bowl.

Mackenzie Forgacs: he Yeah, literally. Okay, great. Oh, interesting that you get this game. Next up, we have the Cleveland Browns at the Detroit Lions.

Bob: Interesting.

Bob: Yeah, well, i don't know if I really like this game.

Mackenzie Forgacs: jar go Jared Jared Goff, Jared Goff.

Bob: Yeah.

Mackenzie Forgacs: What?

Bob: it is this my game or your game? What in the world?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Sorry.

Bob: That was unprofessional. This is a professional podcast.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I didn't, that was Summit. I didn't do anything.

Bob: Oh, wow. Summit sounds a lot like her mom. Jeez. That was interesting that she knows how to talk like a human now. Um, yeah, I, uh, I'm a football fan. I watched the games. I watched all Monday and that was, that was a really impressive win. Um, that was a game.

Bob: Even if I texted someone that said, I did think the lines were going to win. I thought there was no chance. I was going to win that game. Um,

Mackenzie Forgacs: Who did you text that to?

Bob: I don't know. I can't remember.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, you were just trying to be a good friend to somebody?

Bob: Yeah, probably was trying to be a good friend and make someone feel confident in something they maybe should have been confident.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Hmm.

Bob: But oh all that to say, whether I said, apparently the text was great and I spoke it into existence, even if they thought I jinxed them mid game.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Really, they should have been confident.

Bob: But yeah, I mean, the Ravens don't usually lose at home. The Ravens usually don't look. bad offensively in the second half. They just could not get anything going. Lions defense looked great. Aiden Hutchinson looks like he is back to Aiden Hutchinson, which is good to see after a gruesome leg injury almost a year ago at this point. um And yeah, the Lions offense, which did not look like the Lions offense we have unfortunately become accustomed to the last couple of years, did not look like that week one.

Bob: Last two weeks, I think they've put anything to bad of them not being a dominant team. So yeah, that was really impressive. Uh, Browns that's enough lions talk.

Mackenzie Forgacs: A bit of a surprise, though.

Bob: Browns also he have a great defense.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep.

Bob: They were second sack uh, sack in Jordan love yeah all game and they beat the freaking Packers, which was up until the bears game, the highlight of last Sunday.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Love.

Mackenzie Forgacs: so

Bob: so yeah, Browns might surprise some people, but lions are still going win this game. They're a better team. Um, Don't care. I don't know. it Is it in Cleveland or Detroit?

Mackenzie Forgacs: It is in Detroit.

Bob: Yeah, Lions are going to win. I don't think there's there's ah you know any any way around that. So hope you're happy.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. Well, that sounds good. I put them at 15 and Bob put them at 12. So either way, double digits, Lions win.

Bob: Devil didge.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Double Dage. Next up, Eli, please cover your ears for this, I don't know, 30 seconds to a minute.

Bob: Ah, Eli. Eli.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We have the Los Angeles Chargers at the New York Jets.

Bob: Ugh.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, hate to say it, but the Giants just have not been that good. They are switching quarterbacks this weekend. This just in breaking news from Making Waves.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Jackson Dart is going to be starting for the New York Giants this weekend. I am curious, you know, how Giants fans feel. I think they're excited. I think they want Russ Wilson just sitting on the bench, riding the pine.

Mackenzie Forgacs: They want to see Jackson Dart. I think it's important to keep in mind that Ricky QBs specifically in their debut do not often do that. Well, the chargers on the other hand are on quite a little streak.

Bob: True.

Mackenzie Forgacs: They've been having a great ah season thus far. Harbaugh has really kind of allowed them to show up as the team that I think a lot of people have thought over the past several years the Chargers could be and they've really started to to show some of those sparks so all that to say I think the Chargers are going to pull this win home obviously you agree as well I chose them at 14 you chose them at 15 so almost a ding ding ding but not quite but either way pretty high sorry Eli sorry Jackson welcome to the NFL baby

Bob: Yep, yep. Well said. I don't really have anything to add other than little bit of good news for Eli because it's going to long season. The Giants do play the Saints next week, so we might be choosing the Giants.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep, that could potentially be a good win for them.

Bob: We might be choosing them next week, so that's something to look forward to.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I bet we will.

Bob: And Cam Scadabo is really fun to watch, and he is a bright spot for the Giants as a rookie. So there are some things to to be excited about, Eli. Yeah.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, feel better, Eli.

Bob: Yeah. Feel better at the week.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, and happy anniversary, Eli and Amy. It's their anniversary today.

Bob: Oh, like I did see that on Instagram. happy Happy anniversary, you two lovebirds, you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: But sorry, we're still not picking the Giants.

Bob: Yeah, we're still, anniversary or not, um making waves and confidence pool comes first and Chargers are going to win that game. Sorry, Eli.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right, next up, we actually, I think this is going to be a very good game. We have the Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Bucs. And I chose the Eagles for only one. This is my lowest confidence this week.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And you chose the Eagles at six. So tell us, Bob, why are the Eagles going to win?

Bob: Yeah. Eagles have had like an unbelievable schedule to start the season. um They're coming off a Super Bowl championship, obviously. And they started the season against the Cowboys.

Bob: Cowboys don't look. yeah Cowboys are great. They've lost to some really, really good teams, but they beat the Cowboys.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, interesting you say that.

Bob: Yep. They beat the Cowboys, which is ah divisional game. Like Max said, you never know what happens. Then they beat the Chiefs, and then they beat the Rams in a crazy fashion. And now they have another playoff team in the box. So Eagles have had a gauntlet to start the season.

Bob: And all they you do is keep winning these games. And I don't see any reason why they wouldn't continue reading winning these games. um Buccaneers definitely are good and they are going to make the playoffs. I think they're going to win the NFC South, but Eagles just find ways to win. And I think that will continue on on Sunday. So I have a hard time choosing against Eagles when they beat every team on their schedule.

Bob: So I got Eagles because of that reason.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah. I like it. Yeah, honestly, that's that's why I ultimately went with them. I did throw this around back and forth a little bit, only because the Eagles, they've got to figure out how to get their pass game going. I'm sure Big T would agree with this.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Passing has not really been there. I don't know what's been going on. Nick, my wife, will tell you as well, she's got both of their wide receivers, and they've been shit in fantasy. Oh, explicit.

Bob: Oh, that was really explicit.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Because the Eagles just really haven't been passing, they've got to figure that out against some of these teams.

Bob: and

Mackenzie Forgacs: That's got to get figured out or else they are going to face some losses. So that is why I have them low, but I agreed it's hard to pick against a team who's got a good track record.

Bob: It's tough. It's tough. And they all they do is win. So I'm sorry. um I'm putting in our confidence points as we as we speak. I'm getting a little nervous about time. So I'm listening, but just getting get you know just do it doing doing a little job over here.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You're fine, please do.

Mackenzie Forgacs: No worries. Appreciate you putting those in and I'll move on. The last game of the one o'clock slate is the Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans. Texans got to figure something out.

Mackenzie Forgacs: They are 0-3 right now. It has not been a good run for them thus far. They've had... As I said, they're 0-3. They've had losses to the Rams. Great team. They've had a loss to the Bucs. Great team. The loss to the Jaguars last weekend, though, a little more iffy.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Jags are not bad by any means, but they're not exactly the Rams or the Bucs. So for them to have lost that game, not ideal. They need to figure something out. I think this is weak for them to do that, have a good bounce-back game. They're playing the Tennessee Titans.

Mackenzie Forgacs: They're playing at home. They need to walk away with this win. I think they will. We both have them at ding, ding, ding, 13. Yeah.

Bob: Ding, ding, ding.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So pretty high.

Bob: Okay.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We're pretty confident in them.

Bob: Yeah, I'm with you. Ding, ding, ding, 13. I got nothing to add. We're both we're both in the teens. Well said.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfecto. All right, moving on to the 4 o'clock slate of games. We have the Indianapolis Colts at Los Angeles Rams. I think this is going to be good game. We got Danny Dimes with the Colts.

Bob: Many times.

Mackenzie Forgacs: He's coming in. you had You heard a good nugget in that game. They just punted for the first time this past week. Insane.

Bob: Crazy. Yep.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You got the Rams, who have been phenomenal. We ultimately put both picked the Rams. I put them at 8. Bob put them at 4. Why are the Rams going to win?

Bob: yeah

Bob: Um, yeah, this on, on paper at the start of the season, it might not have looked like a great game. Um, now with three, you know, fricking Indiana Jones led Colts playing a team that should have been three, you know, if they didn't have a couple of field goals blocked in Philadelphia, this is all a sudden looking at like maybe the best game of the weekend.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep.

Bob: Um, really, really good.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Amazing. I wouldn't have guessed it.

Bob: Who would, who would have thunk that the Daniel Jones led Indiana Colts to be three, you know, looking like a beast in the, uh,

Mackenzie Forgacs: Indiana Colts.

Bob: The Indiana Colts. Look at that. The what?

Mackenzie Forgacs: The Indiana Colts.

Bob: Oh, I was like, isn't that the need team name? Indianapolis. Classic me.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Indiana Jones is what they've been calling it, right?

Bob: Yeah.

Bob: Indiana Jones. Love it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep.

Bob: Absolutely love Indiana Jones. And how would how would you not like that? And once again, sorry, you Eli, yeah you've been booing your quarterback for years. You got get run out of town and then he finds a new home and all of a sudden he's doing his thing.

Bob: So, and nick um All of a sudden, three and o and yeah, they're looking they're looking like they're on top of the world. But the Rams, they absolutely look like a Super Bowl contender based off what they did against the Eagles in Philadelphia.

Bob: Did everything but win that game. So I think it's going to be a tight game, but I think staff and Puka are going to be able to crack the the Indiana Jones code. um And I think they are, oh, thank you so much.

Bob: I think they're going to win that game.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. ah Perfect. So next up we have the Jacksonville Jaguars at San Francisco 49ers. So the 49ers have been, as we as we talked about earlier, alluded to.

Mackenzie Forgacs: They have been without Brock Purdy.

Bob: Nice.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I think he is, as as of right now, expected or on the trajectory to play. If not, Mac Jones will continue to suit up as the backup quarterback. This is in San Francisco. I do think we want to monitor that QB situation to be able to determine confidence levels here. Right now, I have them at 9.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You have them at 5. My 9 is under the impression that Brock Purdy plays. Unfortunately, we did learn some other bad injury news.

Bob: Yep.

Mackenzie Forgacs: George Kittle's obviously been out. Nick Bosa, his season has ended as of this past week as well. That's a big blow to their defensive unit. he tore his ACL. So if he is out for the rest of the season.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Unfortunate. Don't think it's the end of the world for San Francisco. um i think they're still going to be able to bounce back there. Good team that's used to dealing with injuries and having guys step up to the plate. I still think they're going to win, but totally believe that confidence level here depends on whether or not Purdy plays.

Mackenzie Forgacs: So we'll keep an eye on that.

Bob: I'm with you, okay?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Perfecto. Another good game this weekend. Next up, Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs. Or at least typically you would think this going to be a great game. Chiefs haven't been Chiefs of old as of lately.

Mackenzie Forgacs: But yes, we both chose the Ravens. I chose them at two. You chose them at one. Why did you pick the Ravens, Bob?

Bob: Yeah, I mean, obviously what I was saying about Monday, like, yeah, the Lions made Lamar look very beatable, which doesn't happen often. So once again, last kudos for your boys of the entire episode.

Bob: Yeah, hats off, made him look very beatable. um Chiefs, I watched that entire Sunday night game as well, and that does not look like the same Chiefs at all. Um, they look like their offense is just kind of like stalled out. Um, could be because worthy still hurt could be because, uh, where she rice is not really played yet, but this does not seem like the same chiefs team.

Bob: I think that the Ravens are going to have a big bounce back. I think they're going to win, um, and their ah offense, I think at the end of the day, iss just a little bit more explosive than the chief. So I got the Ravens to, uh, to get her done, if you will.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. Perfecto. Couldn't agree more. The last game of the four o'clock slate. Oh, it's funny. you You had mine and I have yours. We have the Chicago Bears at the Las Vegas Raiders.

Bob: interesting Very nice.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And I actually believe that the Bears are going to win this game. We both selected them.

Bob: Oh, miracle.

Mackenzie Forgacs: They did a phenomenal job.

Bob: go

Mackenzie Forgacs: As you said, they did a great job against the Cowboys this past weekend. I think I was going to do a backhanded compliment and I'm not going to do that. I'm just going to stick with, they did a good job.

Bob: there

Bob: I appreciate you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And so

Bob: That's it. That, you know what? that That took a lot from you. So thank you so much.

Mackenzie Forgacs: thank you. Yes, yes, yes.

Bob: they And they did do a good job.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I tried it.

Bob: You're right.

Mackenzie Forgacs: They did. They did. This is a way. That was a home game. So obviously a little bit different. You're going into somebody else's stadium. However, the Raiders have not been great.

Bob: Yeah, whatever.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Ashton Gentry, I picked him up for fantasy.

Bob: Oof.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Come on, my man.

Bob: Oof.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You need to step it up. It has not been looking pretty. I'm hoping this weekend is a little bit of a breakout game. But either way, I still think the Bears will come away with the W, especially if they play the way they did last weekend.

Mackenzie Forgacs: um i've got them low still we're tempering our expectations i have them at four bob has them at seven who surprised bob uh ranked the confidence level higher not me no we oh we'll meet in the middle and we'll go with you of huh i mean we could do five

Bob: Okay.

Bob: So.

Bob: So we'll go with seven, which is exciting and I can't wait.

Bob: Six. Great. Okay.

Bob: Yeah, well we'll we'll talk about it off air, but yeah, just locked in.

Mackenzie Forgacs: do four could could actually go lower could you three two

Bob: I actually just finished. Yeah, I just actually locked in the picks, and I think I got them at 8 or 9. So I'm glad that we're locked and loaded.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Okay.

Bob: um Yeah, I'm going to be singing the Bears praises for a while. If we win again this weekend, I'm going to be un... um I'm just going to be... i'm going to be hard to be around on this podcast. i'm going to be... What's the word I'm looking for?

Bob: Why am I loss of words? going to be un...

Mackenzie Forgacs: Bearable.

Bob: That was what I was looking for.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Bearable.

Bob: Bearable. Bearable. That was... i was being sarcastic, by the way. i knew the word. I wanted you say bear. um Yeah, I think i think the are going to beat the Raiders. I don't want to add too much because this isn't technically my game, but I'm one of the two hosts here.

Bob: I could talk for 15 minutes about my boys if I wanted to.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, could you? It's weird.

Bob: I won't.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I didn't really add much else to mine about the lions. It's weird.

Bob: You didn't. You didn't, but we talked about them a lot last year. Tree fell in the forest. I did hear it. um Marshmallow remnant somewhere on the floor because of that, but... um Yeah, I'm really confident my Bears. I think this is the team that we were thinking was going to be the team in Chicago all offseason.

Bob: I got us in a big way. And just wait for me after the Bears are like four and two Unbearable. Bear down, baby.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, dear Lord. I'm hanging on to those four vetoes that I have in my pocket because all of a sudden he thinks that Dallas Cowboys defense without Micah Parsons and a win against the potential Las Vegas Raiders is just plummeting into the Super Bowl or something.

Bob: yeah

Mackenzie Forgacs: so

Bob: Yep, that's exactly, you you said it. i didn't I didn't say Super Bowl, you said it. Thank you.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. So the last game on Sunday, we have the Green Bay. oo ah Green Bay. The Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys.

Mackenzie Forgacs: And it's unfortunate that we're having to pick the Packers so damn much this year, but they are, they did have the loss the Browns.

Bob: So annoying.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Obviously we we don't mind losing points whenever they get upset. I do think that they're going to be coming back with a vengeance. I think that was kind of a one-off, weird, fluky win for the Browns. I think the Packers are going to have even more drive to come back and take on the Cowboys this weekend.

Mackenzie Forgacs: um And yeah, unfortunately, I do think they're going to win. And we've got them pretty high. I picked them at 11, and you put them at 8. eight So pretty high.

Bob: ham much Yeah, I have nothing to say about the Packers. i I'm glad this wasn't game because don't like talking about them. So on the Monday night we go.

Mackenzie Forgacs: On a Monday night we go, we have a Monday night double header, folks. We have first up double dip.

Bob: oh double dip.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We have the New York Jets at the Miami Dolphins. Who put this as a Monday night game is all I want to know because yikes. We have...

Mackenzie Forgacs: Not great teams. I don't know. Justin Fields, I'm sorry, not doing so great as a New York Jets QB.

Bob: Yuck.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I'm sorry, he's not. They're 0-3 right now. It's just, it's not looking promising. um All that to say, it's in Miami.

Mackenzie Forgacs: The Dolphins, although they have been struggling as of late, they are also on three Oh gosh, battle of the teams. One of them has to walk away with a win, and I do think it's going to be the Dolphins Monday night.

Bob: yuk

Mackenzie Forgacs: They at least have the stars to do it, whereas the Jets, I'm not sure who would stand out if we're if we're talking about that. So we've got the Dolphins. I have them at three. You have them at do you nine.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Holy smokes. you You put an 0-3 team at nine?

Bob: I did. i just think, I don't think that speaks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: What was this man drinking, folks?

Bob: I was drinking the strong coffee today. Needed. Following the gut. And you know what? I think this is less a about the, the dolphins being owned three and just more about the jets being really sucky.

Bob: That's what really stuck out with me when I was thinking about what to, uh, to put this game at. Um, yeah. And it just, in my gut, I was like, yeah, the dolphins are winning this game. I'm a new man. I'm just, it's all about gut. Now my gut tells me dolphins. So I said, screw it. I'm going nine.

Mackenzie Forgacs: and Okay. Wow. I like falling the gut, but i'm I'm worried. He's a little distracted, folks, with the newon the new career and everything. is it Are you leading us down a dark path, Bob?

Bob: I could be. I guess we'll find out. um this This week's going to tell a lot. There was a lot of crazy on-paper picks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. There is a lot going on this week. There's a lot riding on this week. So.

Bob: There's a lot riding on this week, and I can't wait for next week because I feel like we'll really get to unpack it.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. I also can't wait. I also can't wait. out I'm going to, I'm going to cut some clips.

Bob: Oh, yeah, please do. I can't wait.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh boy.

Bob: I wish I knew how to cut clips because,

Mackenzie Forgacs: It's going to air Friday morning too.

Bob: yeah

Mackenzie Forgacs: And we will have already known the results now when this comes on for the Thursday night game tonight. And oh boy.

Bob: Oh, it's going to be rich, folks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: When Seattle gets to for you, everybody's going to be laughing, laughing, laughing.

Bob: It's going to be rich.

Bob: I'm going to be eating those I'm going to be texting Mac off the wazoo tonight.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yeah, you know, you're going to be in those nugs in your diaper.

Bob: I'm going to be flinging that diaper from here Asheville, baby.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I love that that's a saying now, and it's like, what does that even mean?

Bob: i don't know where that came from, to be honest. But, yeah, I'm going to be – people are going to think I actually wear a diaper, and I i promise I don't, folks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: It's going to be a season-long thing. You know that, right?

Bob: At 32, I'm um um'm a little past that, so.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, my gosh. All right. Well, with that, we've got one last game. Cincinnati Bengals at Denver Broncos, 8.15 p.m.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Monday night. We both chose the Broncos for pretty high. I put them at 12. You put them at 14. Tell us, Broncos, let's ride.

Bob: Yeah, know and don't really have much to ride, or you but ride right my mouth there.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You

Bob: Yeah, you just just put that right in my mouth.

Mackenzie Forgacs: don't have much to ride, folks.

Bob: yeah and Right in my mouth as I was about to say, say, and you just flung that into my mouth. That was not my word. That was her word. She.

Mackenzie Forgacs: You don't have much to ride! Saddle up!

Bob: got

Bob: I hate this podcast. Dang it. Speaking of clippable things. Gosh, it was going so it was going so smooth, too. And then you had to say, right. Right. What I was about to say don't have much to say.

Bob: Yeah, actually she's currently lassoing over there. I'm having a blast.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I'm lassoing my mic cord. Yee-haw!

Bob: Oh, man, I'm having a blast. oh Oh, this is the best.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Never lost, ride a cowboy!

Bob: Oh, gosh, it keeps going. It just keeps on going. Oh, good. I love this. Like I said, I don't have much say. say if If something else is said, it was it was obviously um messed with with whoever edits this episode.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Edit it in. to

Bob: Much to say um with how confident we are here. um Yeah, Broncos are 1-2. I'm all frazzled now. um Broncos are one in two but they've lost two games at the absolute buzzer.

Bob: um Colts beat them with a last-second field goal, and so did the Chargers, which are two good teams. Chargers are 3-0. Colts was 3-0. They were both losing to the Broncos, and they game-winning field goals this time expired. So the Broncos are the best 1-2 team in the NFL, in my opinion. Yes, I know the Bears are 1-2.

Bob: Broncos are a good team. um I think they're going to win this pretty handily. So I think that's why I had them for high, and it sounds like you you agree.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Yep. I absolutely do. Completely agree. Well, that's a wrap folks on a week four.

Bob: Yep, that's a wrap. And, up wait, what? two um

Mackenzie Forgacs: earpiece. He's getting, he's getting a notification in his earpiece.

Bob: yup so Oh, we're having technical difficulties, and I'm getting a notification that we have one more ad to share before the end of this episode.

Mackenzie Forgacs: All right. Well, uh, I, I think I've got something perfect for us though. Week four. um Podcast for making waves is brought to you Wrangler cowboy boots.

Bob: oh

Mackenzie Forgacs: If you need something to ride,

Bob: That's insane.

Mackenzie Forgacs: yeah, baby, saddle up and put on your boots. So that way you can ride into the night.

Bob: man.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Wrangler, save a horse, ride a cowboy.

Bob: Unbelievable. What? What?

Mackenzie Forgacs: Let's ride! That

Bob: oh man unbelievable what

Mackenzie Forgacs: was the most chaotic ad, but I don't care.

Bob: ah After you started saying the ride, I didn't hear anything else you say. sure it's great. Can't wait to listen to it. Isn't it funny, folks? who One word will get you this. One one little slip up and you'll be hearing about it for the rest of your life.

Bob: And I'm sure I'll be hearing about it for the rest of my life.

Mackenzie Forgacs: oh

Bob: Got to love this podcast.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I'm sure you will. Gotta love it.

Bob: ah the beauty The beauty of making waves. It doesn't get better.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Oh, it really does it.

Bob: sit

Mackenzie Forgacs: It really does it.

Bob: so it's So happy to be back, folks. So happy to be back.

Mackenzie Forgacs: We are. And you want to close us out here, Bob?

Bob: Oh, i'm I'm closing this out.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Close us out.

Bob: Well, folks.

Mackenzie Forgacs: I just made laugh at you for like five minutes so you can close us out.

Bob: Oh, I appreciate that. Oh, it's the best, the best. Well, you know, folks, week four, as they say, third and fourth dates really tell you a lot about a connection, how far they're going to, it's going to go, how, whether it's everlasting, if it could be something that, you know, you could bring home to mom and dad.

Bob: Um, Bring home to the family. Bring home to to the friends. Week three and four in the NFL really tells you what teams are for real. What teams have playoff potential.

Bob: What teams could possibly host the Lombardi Trophy the end of the year. And what teams will be flinging a diaper at the end of the year. And saying, well, back to Cabo and back to the drawing board.

Bob: We're excited to see what happens this week. Can't wait. Go Cardinals. Go Panthers. But most importantly, go Bears.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Go Lions!

Bob: Peace.

Mackenzie Forgacs: Thanks, y'all! Peace!

Bob: yeah
