Denny Emerson is best known as an upper level eventer. However, he also competed in trail riding, saddle seat, hunters, jumpers and dressage. He helped win a gold medal for the US at a world championship, was Vice President of the US Equestrian Team, President of the USEA, served on the executive committee of AHSA (now USEF) and stood stallions on his farm Tamarack Hill farm. The research for this episode came from his two books; How Good Riders Get Good and Know Better To Do Better. In this episode I go over the top lessons from each book. We look at the qualities and characteristics good riders need and learn from the mistakes he learned throughout his career when it came to riding and training horses.
