00:00:46
Speaker
What i want to talk about right now is how I'm drowning in dog hair.

Dealing with Dog Hair - A Humorous Interlude

00:00:52
Speaker
Oh, no. So when we adopted sweet, precious baby, little Rune, we were like, let's do his little DNA test. And it came back.
00:01:06
Speaker
Boxer. Rottweiler. Both dogs I've owned. Both dogs. Fabulous. And then the third was Akita. o I've never in my life had an Akita.
00:01:20
Speaker
Yeah. And it's it's been a real special time. He is a sweet, precious little angel baby, but he's too smart for his own good. he has a big old Akita brain.
00:01:31
Speaker
And while his outer coat is a Rottweiler coat, he has the Akita undercoat. And Akita's shed from early winter through late spring to early summer.
00:01:45
Speaker
and when I say shed, I'm talking like, i don't know how he's not bald. I will have to send you a picture because I gave them baths yesterday and the shower drain was just full.
00:02:00
Speaker
Oh no. There was everywhere. There was hair on the wall. There was like tufts of hair all over the floor. And then like when I was drying him off, hair was just flying everywhere.
00:02:12
Speaker
and I have been sweeping my house like every other day. i would do it every day, but right now my back hurts. And that's a a story for another time.
00:02:23
Speaker
yeah I've been doing it every other day and it's just so much hair, so much hair. It's like having like a husky or something like the way they shed. It's just like that.
00:02:36
Speaker
It's a nightmare. That sounds awful. It really is. I love that dog to pieces, but I'm like, can you not right now? Yeah, please. oh I'm so tired of cleaning my floors.
00:02:49
Speaker
Oh my God. Yeah. I, I hate that for you. There's nothing worse than like having dog hair everywhere. Like it's just, it's not even like, awful it's not even like oh They're going to shed for like a couple weeks and then you're good. They shed for months.
00:03:08
Speaker
Yeah. For months. When he did this last year, i was like, is something wrong with him? Like the amount of hair he was losing. I was like, is he sick? Like, no, he's just part Akita and that's normal apparently.
00:03:22
Speaker
yeah Oh my God. I'm going to send you a picture. sent it to Anthony because I was like, run. I was like, oh my God. Because Rune is also like wooly right now.
00:03:33
Speaker
Like I took a picture of his little wooly butt. i was like, where is all this hair coming from? Like his bow.
00:03:43
Speaker
It's just so ridiculous. I don't understand it. There we go. My friend has a husky. And every time I go over, like he wants like all the attention, i'll pet him and stuff. And like, you know how like with dogs like that, that shed a lot.
00:03:57
Speaker
You'll pet them and then all of a sudden there's like all this excess hair now and I'm like, don't know what to do with all this hair. do with it like it sticks to you it sticks to your clothes um you're gonna be so disgusted by my floors but I want you to know that I swept and mopped two days ago and this is them right now it's so gross oh my god you were joking with the shower drain that's so gross oh my god
00:04:31
Speaker
Wow, he is really shedding a lot. Yeah, yeah. It's um it's ah it's a special time, the winter, with an Akita dog.
00:04:43
Speaker
I'm glad I have a Chihuahua. Gizmo, so when we were in Okinawa, he was shedding a lot, but turns out it was because he was allergic to the grass. And so now that we've been...
00:04:57
Speaker
Now that we've been here, he's not allergic. He just must be American, hands down. But since we've been to Washington, he's fine. yeah His paws are white again. he doesn't itch him.
00:05:09
Speaker
He's not shedding. And I'm like, okay. But yeah, we this is definitely not a dog.

Updated Magical Resources

00:05:16
Speaker
a podcast we're talking about our favorite resources though today so yeah excited for that we you know we did this back what did i say it was like episode 59 or something 58 58 yeah and and we've had a couple reach out and be like hey can i get that list and i'm like first of all that was a really long time ago i don't even know where we put that list but second of all it definitely needs updated
00:05:44
Speaker
Yes. Yeah. So we have an updated list now um that we can send out 100%. So I guess to kick us off, we just kind of broke this down by the topics first for books. And then we kind of go into some more um like YouTube or TikTok or whatever. yeah.
00:06:06
Speaker
We're going to start us off with kind of kitchen themed witchy books. So the first one that I wanted to mention was The Witch's Feast. And this is a kitchen grimoire by Melissa Jane Madera.
00:06:20
Speaker
And this one's set up to cook by the stars, um the zodiac, as well as the seasons. And it gives menus for each, including like an appetizer, a main and a dessert and it has some additional elements that I really love about it. Plus like literally everything I've made out of this book is just absolutely amazing. It's so delicious.
00:06:42
Speaker
kind and recommend And even with so I've only made one dish out of there because when I got it we were living in Japan and Some of the ingredients that she has listed were difficult for me to find. But what I did make, I made the i think it's the Virgo lemon and lavender chicken. Oh, that one is so good. We did that one. Anthony smoked it. He like spatchcocked it and smoked it with the lemon and lavender like in it. Oh my God. Delicious. was delicious. That sounds amazing. There's also like a poppy seed and leek like chicken bake.
00:07:20
Speaker
that Julia and I made that together when I went out for her birthday. We just made a whole like day of just being in the kitchen and cooking and doing fun stuff. And we made that. And then i came home and made it like two times within the first month of being back.
00:07:36
Speaker
And then like, it's one that I just like go back to because it is so fucking good. Yeah. I'm going to have to make that one. Yeah. I, I love this book. I remember when I first saw it, I think Alexis and like we were at a bookstore and we saw it and I'm just like, my God, And we immediately sent it to you. were like, you're going to love this book. It's so beautiful too. It is beautiful.
00:08:00
Speaker
It's just a stunning book. Yeah. Even if you're not somebody who is like super involved or invested in kitchen witchery, which I don't really like to cook, but I will cook from this book because it is so gorgeous. So um definitely it' it's beautiful and it's a must have in our opinion.
00:08:20
Speaker
Yeah, it's a 10 out of 10 book for me. i absolutely love it. The second one I have on here is called The Natural Witches Cookbook by Lysana Wallance. And this book is literally brand new to me, like as in I just got it like two days ago.
00:08:36
Speaker
And I haven't even cooked with it yet. But It's just, it's phenomenal. It's beautifully set up. It includes witchy tips for each recipe. And it centers around like healing your body, your mind, and your spirit with kitchen magic. I sent several of the recipes to Sam when I was flipping through it because I was like, oh my God, look at this book. I am so obsessed. So it's definitely, I've got to go through and see if I have anything like or have all the ingredients for anything without having to go to the store to try to make like maybe tonight or tomorrow but I'm definitely going to be using that one quite a bit and then the next one I have is just called The Kitchen Witch and this one's by Skye Alexander.
00:09:19
Speaker
It's a great overall book for kitchen witches. It gives So much information, like easy ways to really like make your kitchen magical, how to work with natural ingredients, as well as like spells and rituals that you can do in your kitchen.
00:09:33
Speaker
So 10 out of 10 recommend. It's also a really good beginner one. And so moving into some deity work. resources. So I am a devotee to Hecate and there were a couple of books that i picked up within this last year that I thought were really great resources. The first one is Hecate, Goddess of Witches by Courtney Weber and Entering Hecate's Cave by Cindy Brannan.
00:09:58
Speaker
Both of these are great resources if you want to start your journey working with Hecate or you're just interested in learning more about the deity itself because one of the things that we mentioned on the podcast so much is before you start working with the deity, you really need to do your research and learning more about that specific deity. And both of these books are great resources, especially

Herbal Resources and Practice Books

00:10:21
Speaker
if you're just starting out, you don't know very much about the goddess and you want to learn more. So I highly recommend both of those books.
00:10:29
Speaker
And then obviously we couldn't have a resources episode without me going on and on and on about herbal resources. So yeah. so Here is a list of ones that I love. i have obviously The Complete Folk Herbal and Wild Witchcraft by Rebecca Beyer. So if you've listened to the podcast for any amount of time, I've definitely mentioned these. We've had Rebecca on the podcast um to talk about The Complete Folk Herbal. These books are beautifully put together.
00:10:59
Speaker
They're easy to understand, even if you don't have an herbalist background, and they're just like packed full of information. And then she also has Mountain Magic, which is an honorable mention only because I haven't like dove into this one fully. But the little bit that I have, it's just as great as the other two are.
00:11:17
Speaker
And if you haven't listened to our episode where we had Rebecca on the podcast, you need to go back and listen to it because she is amazing. Phenomenal. She is. I love her so much. She's just wealth of knowledge when it comes to this kind of stuff. so And her books are amazing resources. And just like to keep them on hand, if you're not sure about a specific correspondence, like you can just...
00:11:39
Speaker
flip to it and get more information. so Yeah. The next one that I use quite a bit is the Herbal Alchemist Handbook by Karen Harrison. This one's broken down by the planets and the herbs that are tied to them, why they correspond to those planets and how to use them. And I find this book in particular to be a great companion to other herbal books when you're trying to build an herbal formula for a specific purpose because it really does go into depth in that way. So while I wouldn't recommend it if you're just wanting to like start out with herbalism or learn about herbs, it's kind of more of an advanced resource. It is a great companion to other herbal books. This one it's called The Modern Witchcraft Guide to Magical Herbs, which you've probably seen or heard of at least one of Judy Ann Knox books because she has like a whole series like this.
00:12:32
Speaker
um I find this one in particular to be great for like beginners. It's like a really good one to get you started in learning about herbs and how you can work with them. But I feel like it's just that.
00:12:44
Speaker
It's a beginner's guide. It covers about 100 herbs altogether, I think. and like what they're used for their properties and some folk history for each one and then it does have some like spells and recipes in it as well and the next one I have is wild medicine and this one's by Shelby Bundy and Kate I think it's just blue I'm not 100% but um This one is essentially just a beautifully illustrated Materia Medica blended with a Materia Magica. So it does give some minor recipes, but not a ton.
00:13:19
Speaker
It's mostly focused on like the herb itself, the folklore behind it, and like what parts of it are used. And then this one's just fun. It's not really like, i mean, there is learning information inside of it, but it's called Blackthorn's Botanical Brews by Amy Blackthorn. And it's more just an honorable mention here for anyone looking to make some fun herbal potions, teas, or cocktails.
00:13:45
Speaker
It's also another very beautiful book. So 10 out of 10 recommend. And then just some general practice books that we have. The first one is The Witch's Apothecary by it's either Lorianne or Lorraine Anderson. We're not 100% sure on her first name, but this one is organized by the Wheel of the Year. And each chapter gives the background of the Sabbath, correspondences that can be used, ways to celebrate, and then several recipes for each one that tie to the season and the Sabbath.
00:14:16
Speaker
This book in particular is like a well-loved book on like my shelf and we have used it, both of us, I believe on the podcast, like multiple times. So this is a great one to have.
00:14:29
Speaker
um Another one I love is Hearth and Home Witchcraft by Jenny Blonde. And this one's all about making your space both magical and comfortable. And it has both rituals and recipes to nourish you and your home. And it's a great beginner book as well. And then Witch's Book of Self-Care by Erin Murphy Hiscock.
00:14:50
Speaker
This is a mind, body, and spirit self-care with like nourishing food recipes, skin and bath care, and just so much more. This was a Christmas gift to me, so it's still pretty new, but I'm completely obsessed with it.
00:15:05
Speaker
Additionally, so the Complete Book of Correspondences by Sandra Kynes. This I feel like is staple for anybody. This is a great resource regardless of which... magical path you follow, whether it is Wicca or any sort of other earthbound religion, I guess, you can look up whatever correspondence you want and see what it corresponds to. So what are the colors associated with it, the phases the moon, numerology, deities, et cetera.
00:15:33
Speaker
It is just a wonderful resource guide. The Encyclopedia of 5,000 Spells by Judica Iles. This is a resource that we've mentioned before on the podcast multiple times, but this stands the test of time. We also discussed this back in episode 58 as well. I've been using this book for inspiration for years.
00:15:51
Speaker
And it's not going to stop now. Even the other day, I pulled it out because a friend asked for some tips on a specific working they were trying to do. And I was able to consult them and and send them multiple ideas and then how to work around it and tailor it to them. I feel like this one too is good for, like you were saying with the last one, like it's good for any like background or path. It it includes a lot of different things. So it You don't have to just be like a specific practitioner for this book to be useful for you.
00:16:25
Speaker
Correct. Yes. Yeah. And then um lastly, for general practice, I really love The House Witch by Erin Murphy Hiscock. And this is a great resource for anything to do with your home. So taking care of. cast iron, whether that be skillets or cauldrons, specific types of cauldrons, working with house spirits, using things around your home to elevate your magical space, anything like that. It is a cute little book that really goes into how to make your home more magical with the things you already have.
00:16:53
Speaker
And then next, we're going to talk about some websites. This obviously is not an exhaustive list of all of the resources that we usually consult, but these are just some of our

Witchcraft Websites and Influencers

00:17:04
Speaker
favorites. The first one, Learn Religions. We discussed this on the last episode where we talked about our favorite resources, but this website is still one of my favorites.
00:17:13
Speaker
And you've probably heard us mention Patti Wigington before too She writes tons of resource articles that are hosted on Learn Religions. We love us a Patti Wigington article. So yeah, if you pay attention to some of our resources too, for so specific topics on the podcast, you'll see like where we've both referenced a separate Patti Wigington article. There'll be like three or four listed because she's Just a wealth of knowledge. She really is.
00:17:41
Speaker
And also astro.com. This is for anything astrology. I use this website almost daily. like This is where I also have all of my like the birth charts for everybody that basically I know um that has given me their birthday. put it into astro.com and I have access to their birth charts. Like you can go in and tailor specific things. You could do astrocartography. You can even just use it as a reference. So like looking up different articles based on specific topics related to astrology. Astro.com is one of my most used websites for my personal uses when it comes to astrology. And then as far as tarot resources go, tarot.com is an amazing resource. and ah
00:18:28
Speaker
They lean more into the Rider-Waite-Smith symbolism and imagery. And then also Labyrinthos is also a great online website for tarot specific resources. And then Labyrinthos also has an app that you can download on your phone. I haven't downloaded it, but I know that ah my friend Brody, which, and here's the thing is like, I had used the website for a while, but I didn't even know they had a fucking app And then Brody told me recently, so shout out Brody, but they do have an app. I just haven't downloaded it yet, but she said that she uses it And I'm just like, okay, well then I need to download that too, because that's awesome.
00:19:04
Speaker
Another one is Spells8. This is a great website that we've used as a source in our notes before as well. So you've probably heard us talk about it. And then one of my like all time favorites, I stand by the Farmer's Almanac. Like it's been around forever. It includes the moon cycles, planetary insights, and everything.
00:19:22
Speaker
any and everything about gardening. So, you know, i love that. But like, obviously, this thing has been around forever. So you don't like it works. It's been used for hundreds of years. So if you need just a quick little resource, 10 out of 10 recommend. There's also a witch's almanac. I have not ever bought the magazine. I don't know if you have. something It's like a little booklet, I guess. yeah They sell the farmer's almanac in the grocery store.
00:19:51
Speaker
um The witch's almanac also has one. don't fully know exactly what's in it, but it might be another great resource. Yeah. And I was just going to say too, like I, eat like for the farmer's almanac, like while you can go to the website, you can also, as Tiffany said, like the, the printed one is much has been printed for longer than obviously web websites have been around, but they you know have them pretty much everywhere. i I picked one up recently. And have just been like, okay, well, whenever, like, beside my bed, like, before bed or something, like, I'll pick it up and, like, look at it. And, like, at it a specific section and just kind of see what's coming up and kind of what to do. So. Yeah. It is it is a wealth of knowledge.
00:20:35
Speaker
It really is. And it's, like, I feel like it's it's one of those that has stood the test of time. it has been something that people have relied on, you know, well before we had the internet where we could Google anything that we wanted. Mm-hmm.
00:20:49
Speaker
Yeah, and then looking into some social media. So as far as TikTok, one of my top follows goes to Sai Avani. I'm not sure if I'm saying their name correctly, but they are an astrologer on TikTok. And if you've seen this astrologer, you will know who I'm talking about because usually whenever he...
00:21:08
Speaker
like films videos, like you only see like half of his face. like Sometimes he'll film all of his face, yeah but it's like he's not so focused on like you know putting together the super curated online. He's mainly talking about the like the information is the important part of it. and He is so knowledgeable when it comes to astrology and I love following him and listening to what he has to say about specific astrology topics. And then additionally, that Glasgow witch, she's my comfort witch follow. I love her.
00:21:38
Speaker
Her voice in in and of itself is enough for me to follow her. She's wonderful. She's incredible and gives a lot of great information on different sabbats, how to work with the moon, different ritual suggestions. And she's on TikTok and on Instagram. So depending on how you want to follow her.
00:21:56
Speaker
And then also Vanessa and her iPhone. She is the 12 Magical Nights lady, the original 12 Magical Nights ritual that you have probably seen a lot, especially this past year. She is the one who made it popular on social media. But outside of that, she also does tarot readings and she just, she's just really knowledgeable in what she does. And I really love following her and getting some insight from her.
00:22:22
Speaker
And then also MaDizzle3, this is Molly Donlan and Tiffany and i both follow her. She's so cute, has a lot of practical information on her channel. And she has things from like upgrading your cleaning and laundry products, using magical so correspondences in your daily life, simmer pots, etc. I mean, she just has a lot of stuff on her website or not her website, on her social media.
00:22:47
Speaker
I love her simmer pots and her little salt wand. Yeah. She's always like, salt for protection. Yeah. She is so cute. I love her channel. Mm-hmm.
00:22:59
Speaker
Additionally, I looked at this section and I was like, oh, well, Sam already covered two of the ones that I was going to put up there. The last one I have is um Witch in the Wild. Her channel is just so soothing. Her voice is soothing. a lot of times there's she adds this like.
00:23:18
Speaker
crackling background sound as an element that I just i don't know why it just like it just relaxes me to watch her channel she shares some great information as well and a lot of her content is herbal focused too so you know I love it far as YouTube goes i didn't really list what these people cover because I feel like they cover everything so i like watching the chaotic witch ants or Frankie, Ivy the occultist or Ivy Corbis. I've used her channel quite a bit as a resource for certain episodes that we've done. Earth Witch and then the Green Witch or Annabelle Margaret. Her channel specifically is just, it's another like comfy cozy channel. It's very soothing and it's a really informational, but she is very plant focused too. yeah. Yeah. And honorable mention too, we were talking about her yesterday, but like we i used to love Scarlet Ravenswood. Yeah. And I am so sad that she has not, I feel like she's kind of dropped off. I'm not sure what happened to her. I hope she's doing well and living her best life off screen. But she was my absolute favorite. And she still is one of my favorites. Like I will still go back sometimes and watch some of her, like, cause she used to do like
00:24:33
Speaker
It was like ah i can't remember what she would call it, but it was like a Friday, like, Yuletide, Sabbath chat or something, like Sabbath hangout thing. And she would film it on YouTube and it would be for like her subscribers and then she would release it And oh my God, I just loved her so much. And I'm so sad that she's taken a break off of social media the past few years. And I just really hope she comes back. Please come back because I love your channel.
00:25:02
Speaker
She's amazing. And she's just so sweet. And if you haven't heard of Scarlet Ravenswood and you're listening to this episode, go back and watch her stuff on YouTube because even though she hasn't uploaded anything in years, the information that she has on there is still so fucking amazing. So additionally, so we have a few other resources.

Psychic Abilities and Ritual Tools

00:25:27
Speaker
So the first one is OpenSea Design Co. Specifically, I have them on there. So they have like prints and stuff that you can buy and like have them sent to you and hang them up in your house and stuff. But specifically what I wanted to reference was their Witches Yearly Planner.
00:25:41
Speaker
They release them every year and it includes a calendar of the Sabbaths and festivals for that year, a monthly ritual, correspondences, etc. It is a really great planner if you are somebody who is who loves a planner like I do. So 10 out of 10 recommend. It's a wonderful.
00:25:58
Speaker
And then additionally, Ritual. so And this is not Ritual spelt like R-I-T-U-A-L. It's W-R-I-T-U-A-L. Their Tarot Planner and Decoding the Cards books are amazing. They also have Ritual boxes that you can buy for upcoming Sabbaths and includes things like crystals, herbs for simmer pots. um The December 2025 box included a bell that you can utilize regularly like what I'm going to utilize every year on my altar for Yule, candles, stickers, et cetera. has a ton of really cute stuff in there. And each box that you order also includes a Sabbath workbook that you can keep and utilize each year. And it has different recipes, ritual ideas, and altar ideas, yoga poses, a space for notes so that you can kind of craft your own rituals, et cetera. It is amazing. Yeah.
00:26:54
Speaker
And then also I wanted to list a podcast that I've really enjoyed a lot to help me to enhance my psychic abilities. And this is called Psychic Teachers with Samantha Faye and Deb Bowen.

Gifted Books and Future Content

00:27:07
Speaker
And then lastly, we wanted to mention some books that we have been gifted recently. um So while we have not read these yet or like really dove into them, we've flipped through all of them and all of them sound fantastic. And I can't wait to like actually get into the weeds of them.
00:27:27
Speaker
But the first one is Prosperity Magic by Rachel Patterson. and Then there's Witches, Sabats and Espots by Sandra Kynes. Chaos Magic by Ivy Corbis.
00:27:40
Speaker
Stones in the Glade by Kelly Towne. The Black Book of Jonathan, Not Bristle by Chris Alon. In the Shadow of Thirteen Moons by Sherman Cook.
00:27:52
Speaker
Witchcraft and the Shamanic Journey by Kenneth Johnson. And Lessons from the Liminal Space Oracle Deck from, i think it's Rosa Crean? Not 100% sure on that one, but hopefully I got the name somewhat close. I think so. It's either Rosa or Rasa. I'm not sure. But I will say with the Oracle deck, I have spent some time with the Oracle deck specifically, and I really like it. You should be seeing some posts soon about the Oracle deck because it has been really cute to work It's nice. If you're interested in in Oracle decks, like this would be a great one to pick up. And then...
00:28:31
Speaker
Additionally, with some of these, maybe you'll see in the future. Maybe, I don't know, maybe this is just like a little um spoiler alert, a little teaser for you. Maybe well for some of these books, maybe you hear more about them on the podcast. Maybe you'll get a chance to listen to the author talk about some of these books on the podcast. Who knows? Just maybe. We'll just wait and see. yeah But this has been an episode that has been needed to be redone for a while now. Maybe not redone, just updated. yeah It's been a very long time since we've talked about our resources and we've had some of you asking for them. So here's our update.
00:29:15
Speaker
