echo_blades: Yeah. So the only thing I did catch this week was the, um, the men's basketball finals, gold medal.
tyrellknifeworks: I mean, it's great entertainment value is awesome because I don't even like the Olympics and that kind of made it.
echo_blades: I caught the last quarter man. That was something else. Seeing our hometown hero, chef Curry, get in the kitchen and cook those, uh, Parisians up, man.
echo_blades: He went off. It was so cool.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, I heard you got a bunch of three pointers.
echo_blades: Yeah, he scored like four in the final two and a half minutes. I was. Yeah, it had me up. I was all jazzed up, feeling pretty patriotic at the moment, man. It was good stuff.
tyrellknifeworks: yeah Well, if you want to see how breakdancing is supposed to be done, the men's final, the Canadian won the gold. So go watch that one after you watch the Aussie one.

tyrellknifeworks: I gotta tell you this week, I went through some, let's call them highs and lows of manhood.

tyrellknifeworks: So you know I'm not a car guy, right? And last week I'm having issues with my car. It's not starting. I think it's the battery. and I take it to, and long story, I would have tested the battery, but the the little battery in my voltmeter was dead, so I couldn't actually test the battery. So I took it to Walmart, they told me, no, it's totally charged, and then realized it's the starter, and then went to AutoZone, bought a starter, put the starter in my Jeep, and I'm not a car guy, and I felt like Tom Hanks in Castaway, you know?
tyrellknifeworks: but You know, me make fire.
echo_blades: Like when he lost Wilson.
tyrellknifeworks: Yes.
echo_blades: Oh Wilson.
tyrellknifeworks: No, no. them de the Me make fire.
echo_blades: Oh no, OK.
tyrellknifeworks: That scene, so I was all happy. And then tonight, I probably cooked the worst steak I've ever cooked in my life. Like I should have had my man card pulled for that one.
echo_blades: What did you do? I mean.
tyrellknifeworks: Oh, it was just, it was awful. I decided I was going to broil them in the broiler and hoping that was, it was awful. I couldn't even eat it. Couldn't even finish it.
echo_blades: Oh my God. I don't know what to say about that.
tyrellknifeworks: I think Molly almost turned her nose up at it. but So those are my highs and lows.
echo_blades: Goodness gracious.
tyrellknifeworks: I installed something in a car and I just annihilated two stinks.
echo_blades: That's beef abuse, dude.
tyrellknifeworks: it was As soon as I pulled out of the oven, I was like, oh, this is bad.
echo_blades: Jeez.
echo_blades: I mean, we I'm done. and No pictures?

echo_blades: They were burnt.

echo_blades: They looked gross.

tyrellknifeworks: They weren't burnt. They weren't crispy. They were like gray, disgusting.

tyrellknifeworks: they it was ah it It looked like I boiled them. it was They were awful. Obviously didn't get the broiler hot enough is the issue.

tyrellknifeworks: And they kind of baked slowly.
echo_blades: That's something else.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.

tyrellknifeworks: yeah but hey my car my car starts so yeah and i was thinking i was trying to call my friend greg to like how complicated is it going to be for uh for me to with any he was at a wedding and never answered my call and i thought after i should have called noah noah would have known he would
echo_blades: The highs and lows. That's cool. I can, I can relate to that. I'm not a car dude either. So, uh, any small victory with fixing something is a huge victory.
echo_blades: I agree.
tyrellknifeworks: He would have given me advice on changing a starter, which actually didn't turn out that bad.
echo_blades: Yep. This is a couple bolts, right?
tyrellknifeworks: It's just a kind of, well, it's kind of a bitch to get to in a Jeep Wrangler. So had to jack up the frame a little bit and get some access.

tyrellknifeworks: and But it wasn't bad.

echo_blades: Love Donny. And I was like, yeah, this is great. And then, uh, I had only been listening for like a couple minutes and then during the rest of it, they, you know, I got a couple. Mentions and and Ryan had talked about a couple things but uh so I wish I would have listened the whole damn thing before I but like You know put out this story, but I Was cringing listening To mr.

tyrellknifeworks: oh I have the same note down here, like Papa Murphy's, but what the hell? Who even mentions Papa Murphy's in the same sentence as pizza and good?
echo_blades: So the only thing that I can say in his defense is that I think I believe from what I, I think I know is he was up north in like Humboldt County and ah in, uh, in, in hippie bill and they could be, yeah, I don't know.

tyrellknifeworks: But even so, like they must have a round table up there. That's not even good pizza, but God.
echo_blades: They can get, it can get pretty rural out there and round tables. It's just fine. What's the matter with you?

echo_blades: I did too, man. I absolutely love that. You know, cause I'm just sitting here filling time with words and talking about, you know, how I like to profile. I seem to do more profiling than finishing sometimes.
echo_blades: And it's become a thing, so pulling a Jared every time someone's profiling a knife. I love it. It was hilarious. I laughed my ass off. It was super cool. So, yeah, pull a Jared, guys.
tyrellknifeworks: I think when we were at Rick's, I even pointed at his bucket of profiled knives and said he was pulling a jar.
echo_blades: Yeah. hes Yeah, his bucket ain't got nothing on my bucket.

echo_blades: Having a knife scales, wood blocks, you know, that he's stabilizing and stuff and. I have grabbed a couple of the last time, so I got a couple of these ah black burls.
echo_blades: Super cool, super nice.
tyrellknifeworks: Nice.
echo_blades: I don't know. I miss the the black ones last time, and I really don't have and ah much only like G10 is the only thing that I have in in black for for knife handles.
tyrellknifeworks: the

echo_blades: I just. Is OK.
echo_blades: Gotcha. And I, I don't, I'm like a spalted natural Brown, you know, real curly. I like the blues, but so this is really nice though, but he did send.

echo_blades: I'm in an anti profiling stage here trying to rebuild myself, create a new image. Um, yeah, I, I golfed with my son on Saturday.
echo_blades: That was pretty cool at a good time. Uh, whether it was great. And then, uh, you know, since I've ventured into this, officially old category.
echo_blades: I got done and I was just whooped. So I went upstairs, you know, took a shower, laid down for a minute and watched the ah the Olympic men's thing, went downstairs and started working the shot.
echo_blades: But of course, by this time it's like 3 .30, 4 o 'clock. And my, yeah, my garage door faces west.
tyrellknifeworks: He keeps kicking in.
echo_blades: So when the the sun is setting, I just get that blistering sun going right into my shop and it was, it was too much, dude. So I had to, I was, I do have one still.
tyrellknifeworks: You need to plant a tree in the middle of your driveway.
echo_blades: It's just, it's, it's hot, dude. It's actually melted the, the foot pedals on my, uh, on my bandsaw on my swag table.
echo_blades: The little it it melted the little the the rubber piece.
tyrellknifeworks: but
echo_blades: One time I hit it and the the plastic, the rubber part on top just slid right off from being at the front of the garage because it's on the floor, right? ah It's it's hot.
echo_blades: So I never really that up one time. But anyways, um I was had to route some handle skills on that on the yeah the intrepid 2 .0.
echo_blades: So I had to have the garage open. I didn't. You know, didn't have the, uh, the AC on and, uh, it won. So I got that done and, and I was like, that's it.
echo_blades: I was too much. So didn't, that was all I did that day. And then Sunday we got to, uh, book our flights, huh?
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, finally. This is the first time we're going for under, I think, $1 ,000 to Maker Camp.
echo_blades: Yeah.
echo_blades: yeah That's it. Yeah. First one was me.
tyrellknifeworks: it It's the second one.
echo_blades: The second one was you. but Yeah, it was.
tyrellknifeworks: We're literally paying half the price that we paid last year. Because it cost us like $1 ,100 last year, and this year it's like $510.
echo_blades: Yeah, that's what it was.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: Literally half.
echo_blades: Was it more expensive last year than the first time? I think so.
tyrellknifeworks: No, I don't think it was the first time was like $1 ,200. It was crazy.
echo_blades: Yeah, that's nuts. And we booked like the week before. last year too.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. Oh, last year. Yeah. Yeah.
echo_blades: That was for everybody that doesn't know what we're talking about. We went to makers camp the first time, best time, super pumped. Like I'm like, I'm not going to miss this, this event um again.
echo_blades: And tag along over here is like, you know, I was thinking I'm going to cut down on traveling this year and we're not going to go. And I'm like, fuck dude, that's lame. And then like a week before he's like, I'm having FOMO.
echo_blades: I can't, we gotta go. We gotta to do this. like We had already we already had a that other place booked too.
tyrellknifeworks: but Because we went to Blade West the weekend before, right? That was the issue.
echo_blades: Or after.
tyrellknifeworks: You know, before.
echo_blades: Oh no, it was before.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, it's before.
echo_blades: Yeah, that was before.
tyrellknifeworks: so
echo_blades: So yeah, that was lame. But now we're all good. We're booked. We're ready to go. And now we're just counting down.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, actually, oh I got to call Blackthorn and cancel our room.

echo_blades: So. But we did that and then we were I intended we intended to do some foraging, but. We have we bitched out and did some other stuff, so I ground out a knife pre ground.
echo_blades: Go my hunter. Chupa hung Hunter something. It's like a modified Chupa counter, but um got that thing close.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. Did you get any, did you finish it or?
echo_blades: I feel, no, no. That would be today if I did.
tyrellknifeworks: Well, I finished a knife today. Come on, man.
echo_blades: Yeah, well, I have a job. That is your job. I spent the whole day in the city in San Francisco.
tyrellknifeworks: Oh, doing what?
echo_blades: at a ah meeting on site, this old ass building downtown market street. Like it's so damn old that they actually still have ashtrays mounted to the walls in the corridors.
echo_blades: It was it was crazy. And I went into the bathroom and they literally had two urinals and an ashtray right next to a same one mounted on the wall.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. So, you know, that place has been there since the seventies.
echo_blades: Oh, no, it's so historical ah or early.
tyrellknifeworks: No, I mean, at least yeah. Like they haven't put ashtrays in buildings since at least the seventies.
echo_blades: Yeah, but I'm saying buts it's an historical bills.
tyrellknifeworks: Right.
echo_blades: It's been there for a long ass time.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. ya
echo_blades: It was, it's pretty cool building, but, uh, yeah. And I have a love hate relationship with, with the city. You know, it's like getting in there is always a bitch.
echo_blades: It's like, you know, an hour and a half, two hours from two hours from where we are about an hour and a half minimum from my office, always just gang a gang of traffic and
tyrellknifeworks: Wait, your office is in Pleasanton. How is it an hour and a half in Pleasanton?
echo_blades: Well, there's I'm not the only one going there, Dennis.
tyrellknifeworks: You mean during rush hour.
echo_blades: Yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: That's what I'm talking about today.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, OK.
echo_blades: It would take me two plus hours from here and about and I actually two hours from my office isn't uncommon either, but it was about an hour and a half. But so that part was actually pretty cool. um Not too much, but yeah, it's it's a very, very beautiful, dirty, bad smelling place.
echo_blades: And when you're in the city though, it's, it's actually not that bad. Like you'll, you don't look up, you see all the the buildings, you see the people's hustle and bustle, you know, moving fast. And then you're like, I don't know, man.
echo_blades: I don't mind it too much when, when I'm here, but then you gotta like leave and go five miles down the road and it takes you 20 minutes. So, uh, it's not, not the, uh, it's not the business.
tyrellknifeworks: ah Have you been to other big cities in the US? I get the feeling you haven't.
echo_blades: What do you mean?
tyrellknifeworks: like you've You've been in New York, you've been to Chicago.
echo_blades: I, I've been to New York. I've been to LA and a lot of, a lot of them.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. Yeah, I mean.
echo_blades: I'm talking about my city. This is where I grew up. That's what I'm saying. Like San Francisco is, it's not the business right now.
tyrellknifeworks: yeah I mean, it's not my favorite city, but as far as cleanliness, it's not the worst, but it's not the best either.
echo_blades: Bullshit. What was the last time you've been there? It is absolutely horrific right now.
tyrellknifeworks: Like two weeks ago.
echo_blades: Where did you go?
tyrellknifeworks: No, I was in Oakland, sorry, Oakland, but it's it was a month ago I was in the city because we went to dinner, so wasn't.
echo_blades: You did not go to duty at the center. You were like, it's South San Francisco. It's entirely different, dude.
tyrellknifeworks: I was not in South San Francisco. We were in like little Italy.
echo_blades: Well, yeah, that place is nice. I'm talking about Market Street downtown.
tyrellknifeworks: Oh, yeah.
echo_blades: That thing's a shithole and it smells like piss and shit.
tyrellknifeworks: Okay.
echo_blades: So you tell me it's not dirty. If there's a dirtier place, I ain't trying to go there.
tyrellknifeworks: oh
echo_blades: But yeah, that was cool. It was a beautiful day, though. I enjoyed that. And now I'm here with you sharing stories of nothing.

tyrellknifeworks: Oh, well, I mean, beyond repairing cars, uh, had a pretty good week. Started the week with this, uh, folder class, which, uh, was very, very fun.
echo_blades: Mother fell off. Go ahead. and Yeah.

echo_blades: Yeah. You ever see like that dudes are like, I look they they can't say I love you. And yeah i live that's how I feel about every time you do something that's cool. Like I just, I hate telling you, you did a great job.
echo_blades: but It's like, I think Mike Vagnino did a fantastic job teaching you.

tyrellknifeworks: Okay, I'll take that ah Thank you Yeah, I mean it was that like that's Mike's design Mike's like I was just there being a sponge and I mean I did all the steps and he's like drill here drill there do this do that but um
echo_blades: yeah No, the the the folder was was badass, dude. I love i love it. Seriously.
echo_blades: Mm hmm.
tyrellknifeworks: It's a a um liner lock, um folder, the blade is, some some it's an old steel you can't get anymore, some chrome D2 variant, something like that. um All titanium fittings, um carbon fiber scales, but it was in the first time I've ever worked with titanium, which was interesting.
tyrellknifeworks: I was a little actually the part that I was most worried about, which actually ended up being the easiest part was i tapping like it's a 256 tap.
tyrellknifeworks: It's a tiny little tap. And I'm like, this fucking thing's going to break off like like nobody's business, especially trying to tap titanium.
echo_blades: Right.
tyrellknifeworks: That was the easiest part.
echo_blades: Oh, wow.
tyrellknifeworks: um So yeah, tapping, drilling tiny little holes, lots of work on a mill. but mean And I'm gonna make a video about making a folder, but folks, if you're thinking about well making, getting into folders, yes, you can toil around on your own, but you're not gonna learn the little tricks. I mean, ill I'll do my best in a video, but there's the little tricks that watching someone who's done it for years,
tyrellknifeworks: like just the way he's got his mill set up, the way he's got a he's got a little pin. He actually drilled into the top of his vice and put a little pin there, because he just puts his folder and locks it against that pin.
tyrellknifeworks: ah Just little things that he's done to make his life easy, because I mean, I think 80, 90 % of what Mike does, that's Mike Vangnino, he's a master smith, is folders. He's great at folders.
echo_blades: Yeah, they're...
tyrellknifeworks: He's great at everything, but folders are his thing.
echo_blades: Yep. Yep.
tyrellknifeworks: But but um yeah, lots of yeah, lots of little things that that I picked up on that um Yeah, just easier ways to do things and you know, i' like there's the part of um Like putting the little crescent kind of channel in the blade
echo_blades: That's where he's landed.
tyrellknifeworks: I'm thinking, okay, I gotta need a rotary table for that. He's like, no, fuck no, you don't do that. you can He said, you can do that, but just the setup takes, by the time you have it set up in the rotary table, he would have had four of them done.

tyrellknifeworks: um And just the way he's like, drill a hole here, drill a hole here, put it it put the pivot on it, put it on the mill, you know then turn the blade slowly, and then you know just stuff like that that I wouldn't have,

tyrellknifeworks: thought to do it that way. I don't like screwing around on the mill, like by hand.

tyrellknifeworks: So like that always freaks me out, even though I've done it on the lathe, but on the mill, like moving apart ah into the cutter seems sketchy, but it wasn't.
tyrellknifeworks: So kind of got over my fear of that. But it was really fun and it was, it, you know, I mean, the the folder's not perfect, but like, and we even did things on purpose.

tyrellknifeworks: In that folder course because I wanted to learn the most that I could I didn't care about profiling the blade and like he he just I said yeah, like If we can do this cord, this is normally like a three -day course it like we do it in two days Great you cut out the blade cut out the the liners Because he has them stock made.
tyrellknifeworks: I'm like, let's just use your stock model because I don't care I'm gonna design my own but I want to learn you know the the ins and outs
echo_blades: The ins and outs, yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, and then even like to compare, it was his ID, he's like, okay, well, we'll put ah um a washer on one side and shit, the roller bearing, we'll put a roller bearing on the other side so you understand how to do each one and what the differences are and how they fit. um So that was cool. And then we did a hidden,
tyrellknifeworks: pivot screw on one side and then exposed one on the other. So we just, you know, I wouldn't say it's a Franken knife, but there are things about it.
tyrellknifeworks: If you didn't know that you wouldn't be confused why you did this on one side or not on the other, but it's because I wanted to learn all this stuff in one knife.

echo_blades: That's the most common question I get is, oh, do you do folders? I'm like, yeah, no, there's too much in there. But I mean, for somebody like you, I mean, that's a pretty big investment to get into starting from scratch.
echo_blades: I mean, you already have a mill with a DRO and I mean, that's a big investment right there. And then you're talking to me, you just drop a thousand bucks on just drills and screws, you know,
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. And then, you know, and I spent what, 120 bucks on titanium and all of the, you know, the, the folder parts that are still coming.

tyrellknifeworks: So probably like, I don't know, in total is probably like 1400 bucks, but yeah.
echo_blades: Minus the butt the the decent mill too, right?

tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, I actually decided not to coffee it um I was what looks really what I was the reason I didn't coffee it is because when I saw the blade so it's got a 1084 core and then a copper shim in fifteen and 15 and 20 copper and then the Damascus on the top and then I lattered it and Well, there's like alloy banding on the core 1084 that you can see because of the, it was lattered.
tyrellknifeworks: You now see a ladder pattern in the core, which looks really, it looks really cool.
echo_blades: I do see it. Yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: um So that's the reason I didn't want to coffee it. Cause I didn't want to lose that, that alloy, that cool alloy banding. And I just thought it looked, it was, and I did a really deep batch on this one, so.
echo_blades: Yeah, I can see that is, that is really, I'm checking it out right now, guys.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, but yeah, so I thought that was me.
echo_blades: Sorry. Oh, that's cool that you got the, the ladder in there. Those are thick ass bands too of copper.
tyrellknifeworks: they They're really not, it's 20 ,000 stick, it's what I usually use. but No, there's two copper layers, but each one is the same thickness as I always use.

tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, and in fact, I'm gonna speaking of triple T's I think I'm going to the easiest way to get um my um ah my profile onto the steel, I'm going to laser the profile onto the steel with the new laser. So once I decide what the core steel is going to be, I'm probably going to use like CPM 154 or something like that. I'm going to just laser that design right on there. So now I can export a DXF on a knife print, import that into the laser and just, um,
echo_blades: Not going to have any scaling issues.
tyrellknifeworks: No, it's just an outline, like a profile.
echo_blades: Yeah, yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: So that you usually have to um have it set up in millimeters is what I found.
echo_blades: Every time I've exported a DFX into something else, it doesn't come out proportionate. I always got to do some rescaling and sizing and stuff.
echo_blades: OK.
tyrellknifeworks: um I don't know, for some reason it doesn't, most of the apps that I've tried, it doesn't like metric. Um, I'm sorry, it doesn't like Imperial, but if you do it in metric, it works.
echo_blades: OK.
tyrellknifeworks: And the, um, any, it worked. I think it worked fine on the laser. Like I looked at it and the proportions look correct, but, uh, just laser it right onto the steel.
echo_blades: So instead of doing the old school paper glue spray paint, you're going to actually just etch. That's pretty cool. That's pretty cool.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: I don't know how efficient that is, but I think it's super cool.
tyrellknifeworks: It's well, if you have your design a knife print, it's super efficient because it's export drag and drop laser. It's really quick.
echo_blades: Yeah, I guess. i Yeah, i'm I'm not. Yeah, I'm having a hard time calling you lame. I think I like it. That's a great idea.

echo_blades: Is it big enough to fit the entire um knife on the regular board or will you have to use the extender, the conveyor?

tyrellknifeworks: Almost maybe well, maybe it's one foot by like 10 inches.

tyrellknifeworks: Well, the dagger and the folder all start at the same time. I mean, the folder, it's got to start. It's profiled. I got to start grinding. That's another one. I'm not sure. It's so thick, though. I think I have to and think i have to grind some of it pre -heat treat.
tyrellknifeworks: because that one's gonna have the hollow, so it's pretty thick. Like it's on it's it's almost three eights.
echo_blades: Oh, that's, that's right. You're going to do the hollow on that thing.
tyrellknifeworks: So um it's at least, sorry, it's probably a quarter, not three eights. It's probably just over a quarter. It's probably like maybe 300 ,000 stick.
tyrellknifeworks: That's pretty thick. And for 1084 and 15 and 20, they're shallow hardening steels.
echo_blades: Yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: That's really thick to be heat treating and expecting that you're getting it hard all the way through. So I'm going to be doing some pre -heat treat grinding, but I probably won't go crazy.
tyrellknifeworks: I'll go halfway.
echo_blades: Yeah, that makes sense.
tyrellknifeworks: But plus i I have no idea what a hollow is going to do as far as um i the you know the heat treat and twisting and all that stuff.
echo_blades: Gotcha. Yeah, so this week, ah the... And other land, ah Mr. House is gearing up for the tsunami release. um And he put out a reel on this about the surface grinding attachment.
echo_blades: with the three inch belt, right? So one of the things I did when I was in Florida, um, was bring a piece of, uh, a billet of twist Damascus that I made and Brent and I were, you know, wanted to do something. Um, even though our, our plans got kind of shot because all the rain and he's shot getting flooded and stuff, but We said, oh you know, let's do a collab on this billet right here. So we sat down one night and kind of took a ah handle shape of mine and then kind of tried to maximize the the blade, which is going to be more bald man ish style. And we profiled it, drilled the holes, did all all that stuff. So um I left it there. He's going to do the grind and then um
echo_blades: He treated do the grind and then send it back to me and then I'm going to finish it up. But Brian released that reel and he kind of showed because the the knife is pretty damn thick. It's over two inches wide. And he slapped it on the ah on the three inch belt and then and surface ground it and, you know, came out cool, real easy, made quick work. You know, you're not having to slide the blade, you know, up and down and, you know, ah on the on the two inch wide stuff. But that was ah That's going to be something that's coming up, too, that I'm really excited about.
echo_blades: Is that the little collab with with Brent? And I finally just got a picture. I just sent it to you there with the with the twist on there.

So it's been what, five, six weeks since I've been quote unquote retired. And yeah, everyone's been, you're not everyone. A lot of people have been like, Oh yeah, July is a terrible month. July was amazing for me. Um, like business was really good and, uh,
tyrellknifeworks: um I'm super busy and then August has already started off with a bang. So I've been really happy and the, you know, like I said, the last episode, um, you know, get out there, get yourself as a website, go do some email marketing.
tyrellknifeworks: Uh, that's helped immensely. Um, so, uh, yeah, I can't say enough of enough about that.

tyrellknifeworks: But yeah, I was happy to get rid of that thing. It was kind of a bitch to ship because it was like with the haft. It's like five and a half feet.
tyrellknifeworks: Well, no, if I attach the head, it was it was so it's six feet over six feet. But I took the took the spearhead off, wrapped it up and actually ended up shipping it in a PVC pipe with caps on the end because I had
echo_blades: Oh, nice. Is that, was that one of the things that we dropped off?
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, yeah, that was that big black PVC pipe.
echo_blades: and Okay.

tyrellknifeworks: Cause I was like, well, I could get, I couldn't find a six foot cardboard tube that wasn't going to cost me like an arm and a leg. And I already had the PVC pipe, so it ended up just not costing me anything. actually I actually had to buy a cap, um a cap for one end, cause they didn't have it, but.
tyrellknifeworks: But yeah, sent that off to France. And yeah, that was one of the things I was thrilled about as far as starting August off with a bang, so.
echo_blades: Yeah, that thing is, uh, sat around for a long time. That's a bummer. That, that one you got, that's the one where you got fucking hosed on, right?
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, that's that's where, like, I don't know if the guy was intending to hose me the whole time or, and just wanted to see me make one for the show, for the YouTube channel or like, you know, his wife caught wind that he was gonna spend that much money on something is what is one I'm guessing.

tyrellknifeworks: that i was familiar with i just saw them you know follow me our champ knives so our champ knives that's robert champion knives uh he's in amarillo texas um and he's done some really really nice stuff like some of his folders like he's got damascus folders with um He works with a lot of mammoth. He's got one which is like a feather pattern. it's He had the bolsters engraved, like just really, really nice stuff. After making a folder of this stuff that I look at and appreciate even more now. um But some really, really nice work. So yeah, go check him out. He's got 360 followers.

echo_blades: Yeah. Sure. There's a big ass line of trees in there. So you're not going into the other one. You're just going to be hitting buying a tree all day long.
tyrellknifeworks: God, I remember there was one, like, every time I hit a ball, it would go into the other fairway, and I was hitting from the other fairway and, like, dodging balls coming the other way.

echo_blades: That's good. There you go. Yeah, I played I played a course this week and that was pretty wide open and I did plenty of You know, when I do hit a favorite, rate it's definitely not mine. echo_blades: Oh, that I had a couple of people um reach out um about I don't know when that was maybe last week or the week before where I was talking about my buddy Derek Miles was having issues with the the coils he was using.
tyrellknifeworks: Oh, yeah, yeah.
echo_blades: So um I think we fingered it out and apparently he was using like a brake line tubing that wasn't completely pure copper.
echo_blades: So um that was the issue. So he wasn't getting any induction based on the fact that it not being pure carbon. So um I mean, ah copper.
tyrellknifeworks: but That's really interesting, because i would because he was getting zero current. I would have expected it just would have been a lower amount of current, because you figure that's still conductive, but I guess not.
echo_blades: Yeah.
echo_blades: Yeah, maybe it was less copper than not, you know.
tyrellknifeworks: maybe it's
tyrellknifeworks: Or it's got a failsafe that it it somehow detects it. I don't know. But yeah, you need the 99 .9 % pure copper.
