Speaker: In a world where the number two and number four podcasts collide, the Hustle Triple Grind T podcast is here to entertain your eargasm face.

Speaker: That wasn't bad off the cuff. Your eargasm face. Oh,

Speaker: I wanted to say tickle your eargasm, know, whatever. Guys, this is a quality, high high performance machine here.

Speaker: Welcome. ah like Tell everybody what's going on. um The four of us didn't want to do a show. we were all being lazy. It's super last minute.

Speaker: And so we were like, let's just, with our powers combined, we can make one podcast. Super. Activate.

Speaker: super one hydrulet activate Yeah. Just so the listeners know, this is being recorded like late night, Monday morning, right before this is supposed to be released to like, no, that's what I say late night. It's eight o'clock. No, come on, dude. I normally am asleep within the next 30 minutes.

Speaker: I get up. like If we can get you nighty night, we'll tuck you in. Oh, thanks, buddy. I'm three hours ahead of you boys. I get up early. You're a freak. I am a freak.

Speaker: Night owl. People go to bed at normal hours. How you guys been?

Speaker: ah I got a laser. ah you think which i thought you were going to say something else. ah What did you think I was going to say? i got laser. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: I got the Gweiki G2 30 watt fiber laser. The what? Nice. I got a Chinese lady. I don't know.

Speaker: Whatever. Why do all these laser companies have names she can't pronounce? Because they all come from a particular country where they just put random letters together because it doesn't actually have to be pronounceable. It's...

Speaker: it's pretty incredible and have you tried it out is it cool uh so i literally tried it i got home from work and i had some other stuff to do and i got it out of the box i got it hooked up to the computer and i gave it a couple of tries and so far it won't do anything um did you take the lens cap off i did thank you um But yeah, you can see it like tracing the outline of what I'm trying to edge. and It's not not doing anything. So I'm doing something wrong. I'll have to ah i'll have to play with it and figure it out. so Did you try turning the instructions to English?

Speaker: No, dude, it came with a nice instruction manual that is 100% in English. Oh, nice. So, yeah, I was actually impressed by that. And the instructions were actually fairly clear. One of my favorite things, because I'm a technician and I'm used to it, is where you have a diagram And you have things that are circled and then numbered. And then as you read the instructions, it references those numbers. So you can, as you're reading, look up at the diagram and see what it is that you're looking at. Wow.

Speaker: And they had that in this this manual, and I was pretty impressed by that. so And was there still you was there a pinch point in there, sticker? How dare you? That would have been awesome. Wow. How? ah but No, as a matter of fact, there wasn't. That's good. I'm about due to make another one of those videos because they have not stopped. Somebody at work bought custom stickers.

Speaker: ah So not only are just putting like printed out labels and things, we actually have stickers that there are being stuck on things all the way around the shop. Yeah. So that's ah that's a new development.

Speaker: this This one particular individual just is going keep this going until the end of time, apparently, because I don't know how many stickers he bought, but he bought plenty of them. He must have been the one that had to pick up your slack while you were gone. Oh, he's a parts guy. doesn't have anything to do with me.

Speaker: Oh, I mean, he sold my parts because I wasn't there to work. But i mean, other than that, that's for sure. Oh, dude. I so I don't think I mentioned this on the podcast. One of my other co-workers just just lost a finger.

Speaker: Oh, right nice. yeah On purpose. no Oh, no, actually not. Not on purpose. Right. It was an accident. Lost a finger like. Oh, he he lost the knuckle. So he lost the the.

Speaker: I don't know. do you call it? The first knuckle lost. He lost his finger down to the first knuckle. So. Ouch. And how did he do it? Was it self-induced like yours? Yeah, it was in his home shop, but I don't know how he did it because I heard from one person that it was like um like a drum sander, like ah one of those you you feed into and like his finger got caught into it. um But then I heard from another person that they had seen a picture of the tip of the finger on the floor. And I'm like, how would that happen with a drum sander? and i I don't know. Maybe it was a joiner.

Speaker: ah junior kuterson team joiner in In high school shop class, me and another student had to pick the tip of a kid's finger out of the dust collector from the joiner. True story.

Speaker: I promise. so So what you're saying is your coworkers are going to start buying those those stickers in volume, right? Oh, yeah. Paying attention to them? And then actually just yesterday the day before a guy down in the body shop, he smashed his finger and had to get stitches in it too. So I don't know what's going on, but there's a curse. so and god knowjo If you're listening to this podcast, just watch out for your fingers.

Speaker: Cool. hold Hold on back to the laser. So you haven't got it working. What would, if you don't mind me asking, would you pay for it? 1600. I don't know. oh stop it about that yeah yeah I mean, and it's a 30 watt. Is it a MOP?

Speaker: No, I did not. I did not spring for the MOP because I did not see the need for it for what I'm planning on using the laser for. Okay. Maker's marks. Maker's marks and outlines of folders. That's pretty much it.

Speaker: Yeah. yeah you don't The MOP is good for the depth engraving. Yeah. You could like engrave rocks and shit.

Speaker: I could, but i i don't I don't want to do that.

Speaker: I don't even know what to say. ah Not to be annoying, but WeCreate just a sent me an email and they want to send me the 50 watt laser to review, but I told them no. You don't want another laser?

Speaker: who you don't want to you don't want another laser No. get it Hook one of your boys up, bro. Share the wealth. That's ridiculous. You got Jared sitting right here. Jared, do you have a fiber laser? I do not have a fiber laser. yeah Weird. I'm busy doing water jet videos right now.

Speaker: I've got a shit ton of those to do for remember for that.

Speaker: I have too much free shit coming my way to accept anymore. That's it. Right now. It stops. That's it. I've had enough. Basically, yeah. How many hours of footage do you have? With a sponsor.

Speaker: Hook us up with a sponsor. like Reach out to these guys. Both of them need a laser. Noah's had a really bad experience with one of your competitor companies. And Ryan's too cheap to buy one of his own. So...

Speaker: You took the words right out of my mouth, Ryan. I don't know how it works, Ryan, but I mean, well done. Add space every week for two years to get both of us a laser. Oops. i'll pass on I'll pass you their info and you can contact them.

Speaker: Perfect. Don't know until you ask. I just bought a laser. i don't i don't think we want to do that. Yeah, you can sell that one. Or return it because it don't fucking work. yeah There you go. yeah Although they do say if you're going to have trouble with something, it's right out of the box.

Speaker: yeah Yeah. We'll see. com users guessmate and I'm guessing user error. I am i am used to a... ah ah a laser with an app on my phone that has like two or three settings.

Speaker: And then I just pressed go and it it just goes. This one has like a whole program up on a, like a big screen, not like the little screen, like a big screen with like about 40 different things. And I know what three of three to six of them do. What did you have before?

Speaker: Laser breaker. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. If you want to crash course, give me a call. I'm using light burner using their software. I'm using their software, which I'm guessing is a rip off of light burn.

Speaker: Yeah, all of them are. OK. I've never used light. I might. Sorry, I've used light burn, but I always use the I use the we create one, which is actually pretty good. um It's fine.

Speaker: They're all the same. This one is called G laser.

Speaker: Creative. Creative. well creator It's real creative. Marketing genius behind that name. Well, since this is kind of the Triple T podcast, what are you guys been up to this week?

Speaker: Talk about your week like you normally would on your podcast. Let's hear it. Jared, what have been doing? I won my golf tournament on Saturday. How did I know it would be above golf?

Speaker: I won. that's That's good, Dennis. Congratulations, Jared. Thank you, Dennis. That is very kind of you to support me. In something that never happens. yeah That's sweet, dude. What did you shoot? Kim!

Speaker: Hello! My wife wants to say hi. Tell her I'll be by for football soon.

Speaker: ah Hello? Hello? How's it going? How's it going? Look how cute you are. I didn't know everybody was going to be here. And I asked Dennis if I could come talk because I really needed to do some husband bashing.

Speaker: And Jared is so good to do that with. Come on, let's hear it. Let's go. I have missed you so much, Jared. Like every week I'm dealing with knife this, knife that. And it's just getting on my nerves. And these students are coming in and I can see Dennis in the kitchen. Like, my name's Dennis and I make these knives and I'm on the cover of magazines. And it's the ooh, ahs from the students that are like, and all I wish is that Jared was here with me because me and Jared be like this.

Speaker: um ah oh and you see like Dennis's head's getting bigger and it's Jared you know how I feel i know I sincerely apologize we have the football to watch here soon so yeah they ridiculous I don't think it's us who's ridiculous.

Speaker: No. And then we'll pop that big old Canadian bubble on his head right there. And then sometimes he had like the students come over. They're all like brand new knife people. Right. But sometimes he has his little knife friends who come over and then I have to walk like 20 miles to get them snacks.

Speaker: It's like, Oh my gosh. Really? Really? i do that. That's incredible. diet That was for you. And then I also wanted to do some husband bashing because my dishwasher's been broken for like eight weeks. I'm washing dishes by hand. Been asking him to buy me a new dishwasher. But you know, if something breaks in the shop, that shit's replaced minutes, right? Like he'll have a new one delivered the next day. And I'm sure those tools out there cost more than like 500 bucks, but he makes sure his stuff handled.

Speaker: But the wife's in there washing dishes by hand and walking 20 miles for his little friends. Why doesn't he just get a free one and do some YouTube videos? He just sent a dishwasher back. He just told us right now. They wanted him to review a dishwasher, and he was like, nope, I already have one, kind of So I'm just saying, come over.

Speaker: know what he said? was He said, i already have one. Her name's Kim. i think that's exactly. I don't need a new one. My wife can do the dishes. <unk> I'm pretty sure in the shop he doesn't need that loud thing that smashes the metal flat.

Speaker: Like, I don't think he needs that, right? Yeah, he does. He can use noah arms that are the same size as Spencer's and hammer that down. No, because you know where he could go? He could go to our good friend, Coy Baker at Baker Forged and Tool and get himself some premium pattern welded steel.

Speaker: This week, you have the Elite Aurora My Kumai. Kuni, sorry. ah And always, you can use the app for early access, and you can follow the protocol that Dennis actually did something cool. It's clean it, etch it, and protect it with... ah Grime Reaper. You etch it with Gator Piss of any variety. That's the OG, the Max, or the Heavy Blend. And then you can clean it up with the Gator Skin for that nano ceramic coating.

Speaker: As always, you can use the discount code TTT10 for 10% off. And this week only, you can also use... Hustle 10. Hustle 10.

Speaker: So go get yourself some awesome steel and sell your press like Dennis is about to do. Oh, he's about to. no Well, Kim, if everything goes according to plan, you'll be getting me some snacks in January.

Speaker: I hear that. Yeah. Yeah. I understand you're coming to visit. Hot take. Perfect. Okay. Well, Jared, just come over soon so we can man bet. Man has been Dennis bash that type of stuff. Lynn always says, Lynn always tells me, she's you're going to see your girlfriend and your best friend. And I said, well, can you clarify that? Yeah. Dennis is your girlfriend. Kim's your best friend.

Speaker: Yeah, we got it straight. and Can I share one more story? of course. I'm still a little tired from this weekend ah because my husband kept me up as I accompanied him to the emergency room where we were until one o'clock in the morning.

Speaker: So I had to take Dennis to the yeah ah ER and um it was a little scary. they They got him in really quickly. I think we got there at about seven 30 at night. um They hooked up an IV, got him on some pain meds pretty fast, ah had him back to do the CT scan. And um turns out Dennis was constipated and full of shit.

Speaker: i thought he was good. You were going to say he was pregnant. no So he kept me up all night because he wasn't able to shit. And then the next day, all he did was shit.

Speaker: This is good. That was not fun. Whoa, that was true story? That is a true story, yes. That's a true story. my gosh. I spent, let's see. It's all that wine and cheese. 9, 10, 11. I spent five hours in the ER on. Trying to poo?

Speaker: On Saturday night. we're Just getting shit, you know. like you spend time in an ER. You're going to get some shit after this. You're going to have plenty. This after show talk.

Speaker: I figured getting this story out would also make some good talk for when you come over as well. I love it. It just proves our point. He's full of shit. This is good. In fact, I had to i had i had a folder class this weekend, um Saturday. saturday it was literally right after the folder class. I'm like, oh, I got to go take a shit. And I couldn't. And then after two hours, it was like panic time.

Speaker: um I had to cancel my class Sunday because it was bad. Bro, if you cancel my class, if I spend $1,000 fucking plane ticket and you cancel my class because he can't poop.

Speaker: Because he can't poop. Yeah. Yeah. I'll give you the enema myself, dude. I did not offer to help out with that.

Speaker: No. No? I didn't get an enema, first of all. Jared would have would have helped. I sure would have. Anything for you, dude. Jared would have funky fingered it for me. Yeah. For the boys. For the boys. All right. Okay. I'm going to go. Jared, I hope to see you soon. Ryan, I can't wait to meet you. And Noah, tell your beautiful wife I said hello.

Speaker: I will. Kim, you're your favorite. Thank you so much for being here. you go, kim Yeah. We've had this plan. I was teasing you in the comments here, but ah we've been wanting to do a knife wife episode for like we've said two years.

Speaker: Yes. And so I would like to formally invite you onto the knife wife episode. Yeah. I cannot wait to get the knives together so we can talk about our husbands.

Speaker: That's right. Yeah. Let's do it. It's going to be fun. All right. You guys have a good night. I'm off to watch the voice. All right. twitter there only just Enjoy. yes Yeah. Fun for them, maybe. I don't think it's going to be fun for us.

Speaker: It doesn't sound like it's going to be fun for us. no Dennis, that

Speaker: yeah that might be bad for all of us. Maybe we should pick women that aren't our wives. yeah You know who really wants to do it, who I think would be hilarious, is Spencer's wife, Lindy.

Speaker: re steve Spencer Sanderson. ah his His wife, Lindy, she's super nice. I met her. But she really wants to do that Knife Wife episode.

Speaker: Them Alaska girls are built different. They're durable up there. Yeah. That'll be a good one.

Speaker: That's what every woman wants to be. Fucking California Wi-Fi over here fucked us all up. you know, whacking the microphone. And every time my microphone disconnects, it'll kill it.

Speaker: Yeah. So I think what we'll do for the Knife Wife episode is not have our own wives on. ah That's a great idea.

Speaker: are you gonna do that i have i have like yeah was gonna say they're just lining up over here buddy just let'well shells being i i've pitched the idea to shelly jason's wife and steve schorzer's wife and both of them were like yeah that sounds amazing so i support that yeah we'll have to figure out the logistics i think it would be funny I knew you were up to something. Every time Dennis peeks away and starts talking over there, Kim's going to make an appearance.

Speaker: Well, it wasn't my idea. She wanted to make the appearance. He was like, five minutes. I guarantee that Dennis did not want that story told the air. I was going to tell it anyway. because Oh, were you going to? to Okay. yeah I don't know, man. That's not really a podcast story.

Speaker: I would have, but I mean, good for you. maybe Maybe not your podcast. Yeah, I was going to say, what else? We would have named it then.

Speaker: that would make you guys the number two podcast. I see what you did there. ah Okay, that's a good one, Ryan. Well done.

Speaker: So I'm having a midlife crisis. Okay. Because I just turned 41. I turned 41 yesterday. You're saying you're going to go to 82? I beg to differ.

Speaker: no it's i mean let's be realistic here we're all americans we're lose dude when we hit 40 we're lucky if we are like two-thirds of the way life yeah you're on like hole 14 like me dude yeah we're definitely playing the back nine now yeah yeah so i think i'm gonna buy a motorcycle not not a sports car yeah oh sports car would be good good mid midlife crisis yeah i'm toying with the sports car in maine yeah see that's the thing i don't even think sports car because they're only usable for three months out of the year here yeah sure motorcycles are all year-round kind of deal you know bro i've seen get motorcycles and snowstorms i shit you like all all bundled up fucking goggles on

Speaker: So are you thinking about like a dual sport type thing or you thinking like quad? I'm not i'm not i'm not really a toy kind of guy. I'm just like, fuck, man. I want to be dead soon. 41? First fuck you. got 15 years on You're 50 what? I'll be 56 next month. Oh, damn. In

Speaker: you're fifty what i'll be fifty six next month oh damn in like two weeks actually Wow. So I guess I shouldn't worry about it then. You can hear the coffin creaking, dude. I know. Dude, did you hear that moment of silence we just had for Dennis? Yeah. It's like the never-ending, impending doom tick of time.

Speaker: Wait, aren't you the youngest here? No, wait. Noah, how old are you? 37. Oh, yeah. so yeah you hear you You're the yearly young. Just pup. Yeah. Just a pup, dude. Dude, you know what somebody said to me on one of my videos the other day? Called Unk or what?

Speaker: Basic. No, theyre like the opposite. ah So the first video that I made where I made fun of people who say the word word. He commented about that and he said, we say that because we invented that word. Why don't you go skibbity toilet something or skibbity something?

Speaker: And I just responded back with, bro. He misgenerationed you. I have no idea what that means. Like, I don't look like a Zoomer, do I?

Speaker: No, not with that mustache. Yeah, I don't think I could be mistaken for a Zoomer. You don't have broccoli hair. Right. And I'm a perm. You're not androgynous. Yeah.

Speaker: I'm very clearly an elder millennial. He didn't look at your profile. That was the problem. Well, it's a video of my face, like, speaking. I feel like, anyway. i was Maybe he was so old that he can no longer judge ages because that happens, too. That's what I was thinking.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. and Anything younger than 40 is just them youngins who use that that slang. So anyways, I was offended by it.

Speaker: I mean, that was worse than the death threats that I got in the comments, dude. I'm not really having a two-thirds life crisis. But I did turn 41 yesterday and it's weird. Happy birthday. Happy happy birthday, buddy. What'd you do for your birthday? Anything fun? You shaved?

Speaker: Nothing. You are looking pretty clean shaven. Yeah, it was getting kind of grizzly. And I quit smoking cigarettes like two weeks ago and my beard still smelled like cigarettes. i was like you Wait, whoa. You quit smoking cigarettes?

Speaker: Oh, haven't been up with the show, have you? I don't ever like talk to anybody about anything ever. So short and skinny of it is my neighbor agreed to sell me the plot of land behind my house.

Speaker: It'll double the size of my property for super cheap. I don't want to take on another payment. So I got to come up with the money. So I quit smoking cigarettes because I was smoking like $30 worth of cigarettes a day.

Speaker: Whoa, shit. It was a lot. Well, Yeah. Good Lord. Yeah, dude. That's like your car payments. Yeah, I did drugs for a long time. ah of was that That's pushing my habit there, buddy. i know. And since I've quit, it's been two weeks and i'm like, I'm rich again. I'm like, holy fuck. When you're not spending that much money, because it was two packs a day at 14 something a pack.

Speaker: So because I'm up in New England, we got them. So you're talking like seriously you were seriously spending like between nine hundred and a thousand dollars a month on cigarettes. Yeah. Oh, o oops.

Speaker: That's like 11 G's, dude. good Well, you know, it like when it compounds and you don't notice. Cause it's just part of your daily, like it's like a cup of coffee, two packs of Marlboro Reds. It's like, yeah, but I've been sick for the last week and I think my body's like, Hey, you're not smoking two packs of Marlboro Reds every day. Let's get this stuff out of here. So that's why I'm a little like, it's coming out.

Speaker: You getting the DTs or what? what dts detoxing like oh no no no see that's the weird thing about me was smoking i've quit smoking multiple times in my life it's like it's never an issue for me to quit smoking apparently because you keep doing it i fucking really love smoking like even when i'm not craving nicotine i just love smoking butts dude it's a problem And, you know, I mean, it does help. It does an addiction. It does help my my gout. But it's like when you you slowly progressively smoke more and more and more cigarettes. And once you get to the two pack a day, that's when you get to like look in the mirror and be like, dude, yeah, that's you. You got a reverse course here. I'll be talking through a hole in my neck.

Speaker: You're going to be on one of those commercials. Welcome to the Hustle and Grind podcast. This is a crossover with Triple T. Why did you do this? Tell me this first. I would have did the intro like that. ah But speaking of coffee, I was at Starbucks the other day. you ah The coffee I get at Starbucks is like $7.90 now for a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Bro, what? really, like right now, I am so curious. I want to know what your order is at Starbucks. oh

Speaker: ah we so First of all, i I have an espresso machine at home, so I rarely go to Starbucks. But when I do, I'll get a, you ready for this? I'm going to give you the whole,

Speaker: A triple venti mocha, nonfat milk, two pumps, extra hot, no whip. Dude. Two pumps? My

Speaker: man. Only two. That's all I need. I'm sweet enough. Two pumps, I ha. Give me extra hot whip to pump. I ain't no chump. Let's go.

Speaker: But eight bucks for that. was like, Jesus Christ, who is buying Starbucks every day? This is like as bad as your, your, uh, cigarette habit. That was $8 worth of words.

Speaker: i know yeah When I go to Duncan, it's extra large, hot regular. Yeah. But that coffee is boring.

Speaker: You to talk about boring? Walker drinks his coffee black. So does my wife. no my i No, Kim will put a little bit of cream in it. That's it. yeah I'm not mad enough to drink black coffee.

Speaker: I'm not either, there bro. I used to drink black coffee. but Can't do it. Not anymore. No. i can look so well I need like four sugars.

Speaker: my My wife has has gotten me into... ah

Speaker: crap i just lost it just like that anyways uh i'll make a special that was a fascinating story no oh my gosh my brain just shut off right in the middle of that sentence completely i blame ryan because i i shouldn't be talking this uh this late in the day uh iced coffee i used to only ever drink hot coffee like summertime i'll drink hot coffee Doesn't matter.

Speaker: But she like only drinks iced coffee. And so I started making myself iced Americanos at home and they are just delightful. the The only problem with iced coffee is I can drink an iced coffee in like four seconds. So fast. It just goes yeah down so easy. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. That's the problem because I'm getting the exact same amount of caffeine, but in like one one hundredth of the time. Dennis, have you considered having a crippling nicotine? or Sorry, not nicotine. I mean that too, but a crippling caffeine addiction?

Speaker: Who, me? Yeah. No, I don't have one. I have one coffee a day. You might. And so that means that I can drink as many iced coffees as I want with literally no side effects for now. Really?

Speaker: oh No side effects? None at all. None at all. Okay. My caffeine addiction is worse than my nicotine addiction. i I could probably quit caffeine easier than I could quit nicotine.

Speaker: oh I don't know, man. Try it. i might um I might try it. I had an epiphany the other day. okay Are you guys ready for this? This is an epiphany. Okay. So...

Speaker: The other, it was last Monday. I woke up. Oh, it's just parched for some reason. And I looked over at my nightstand and I had my cup of water that was sitting there. And so I drank a bunch of water like right when I got up.

Speaker: It was just, I never do that. But it was right there and I was like, oh, perfect. Okay, I'm good. Went throughout my day, and it was like a really good Monday. And I was like, this is weird.

Speaker: Like normally it takes me like two hours to wake up, like fully. And went through my day, everything was cool, everything was fine. Tuesday was normal, Wednesday rolls around, same thing. I'm like parched when I get up in the morning, but I didn't have my water cup. So I'm on my way to work.

Speaker: I'm literally like barely surviving here. I'm just like, oh man, like what's going on? Where am I? Oh, I'm in the car. Yeah, I'm driving. Okay, this is safe, totally. Yeah, i don't know where I am. What am I doing? And I reached down and I grabbed the water cup and I just chugged a ton of water.

Speaker: And it was like a light bulb. Like instantly I was not only just like, okay, I felt good. I went from like barely being able to function to like 100% good. Here's my theory.

Speaker: If you sleep for eight hours, that's eight hours that you're not drinking. Anytime I'm awake, I have like something to drink, multiple things to drink constantly all the time. But for those eight hours, I'm not drinking anything.

Speaker: When you drink alcohol, it dehydrates your brain, and that's how you get drunk. I think I'm drunk every morning when I wake up because my brain is dehydrated from those eight hours of sleep.

Speaker: So if I just drink water first thing when I wake up, it doesn't take me two hours to wake up anymore. I'm actually functioning almost like as soon as I get up in the morning. Wow. Have you guys ever tried that, just like drinking water immediately when you wake up?

Speaker: No, I drink coffee. yeah Yeah. Same. Yeah. Yeah. No, that's all I ever do is I drink caffeine. and I'm like, why isn't this waking me up? I should be waking up. You know, like I have this, you know horrible caffeine addiction where I drink a ton of caffeine in the morning.

Speaker: But if I just ch chug like 20 ounces of water right when I wake up, I feel amazing. And that's never happened to me before. I've never. doesn't sound fun at all. Oh, dude, it's awful.

Speaker: if you like water Water is water is the worst, but it's worth it.

Speaker: You should find a way to like package this and sell it. I know. i got to say, I thought your epiphany was going to be something way more interesting. Oh, dude. you know whos Do you want to be super hydrated? And I'm the most hydrated.

Speaker: And I'll show you how. For $5.99 month. You can join Noah's plan, and Noah's plan will keep you hydrated. if you're in you're like We will send this to your home.

Speaker: All you do, first thing when you wake up, you drink this. You're not gonna drink anything else, not the caffeine, this. Yeah, anyways. Put some dyed salt in a baggie.

Speaker: Be like, sprinkle this in your water. It'll make you more hydrated for the electrolytes. It's got what plants crave, electrolytes. Yes.

Speaker: Call it brawn. No, I was just that is a great movie. Love that movie. It's a documentary at this point. Yeah, pretty much. Yeah. So anyways, I'm sorry you guys weren't impressed with my epiphany, but I don't know. Not impressed. Jared got up and when did his fucking dishes.

Speaker: I ain't got a glass of water. i don't know what talking about. Oh, so see, ah it works. Yeah. I knew it was happening before it happened. ah But, you know, you always see those things where it's like doctors recommend drinking two glasses of water in the morning before you do anything else. And it's like, screw you. I don't trust doctors. I'm not going listen to you. But then I actually, you know, I i went on this journey of discovery myself. And and now a believer.

Speaker: That's why I stay up late. I don't wake up in the morning.

Speaker: All right. Yeah. definite so It's always his afternoon when I wake up. That's why I stay up so late. I don't have to worry about hydrating in the morning.

Speaker: listen This has turned into the health episode. Send me a DM. And yeah, I don't know. maybe He'll give you a coupon for some water. If you guys have trouble waking up in the morning like I do, if you just like your brain's all whacked out, try it. Give it a shot.

Speaker: You guys want to play some fake news? Sure. Sure.

Speaker: Fake news is brought to you by our small business spotlight. This includes Pelican Paste, use code Hustle10 at checkout. GripX by Grip Tech Composites, use code Hustle10 at checkout. And subscribe to the weekly newsletter for more discounts.

Speaker: Timber Tiger Forge, Steel Damascus and more. KH Daily Tools for Knife Makers. And Brian Hunt at Hidden Rose Forge for all of your CAD design needs.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: That's right, guys. It's time to play everyone's favorite game, Fake News. I have three headlines in front of me sent in by the unhinged listeners of the H&G, and one of them is just that, Fake News, Satire.

Speaker: It's your guys' job to figure out which one it is. We begin. More than a dozen busted after cops fined $110,000 of Next in a memphis hotel

Speaker: next up NASA intern accused of trying to smuggle moon rock out of the lab in his anus. Yes. I hope that's true. And lastly, man gets penis stuck in spanner wrench for three weeks.

Speaker: That guy was too embarrassed to go to the hospital. That's what happened.

Speaker: Hmm. All of these are equally ridiculous. Except for the first one. The first one? $110,000 of stolen chicken in a Memphis hotel sounds sounds normal to you?

Speaker: it it does It doesn't... One of these is not like the other in humor. Okay, fair enough. Fair enough.

Speaker: Okay, so we got chicken... We got Moonrock Butt and m w rannch Penis Wrench. Shit, Dennis just had a Moonrock pulled out of his butt the other day. Yeah. yeah

Speaker: i I'm like, I want i want to go Moonrock just for that. He was talking about working with meteorite not too long ago.

Speaker: He just had to make some. He's making diamonds in there. Lab group. like it. um

Speaker: Dennis is being and indecisive. Jared, what are you thinking?

Speaker: it's yeah yeah I cannot not go with moon rock smuggling. But I think that's true. So we're trying to pick the fake one, right? Oh, the fake one.

Speaker: That one's true for sure.

Speaker: Yep. Only one is fake. What did they mean by chicken pan wrench?

Speaker: What's that? What did they mean by spanner wrench? I'm a spanner. or Like, Oh, uh, what is a spanner wrench? What you and I would consider a combination wrench.

Speaker: That's not what a spanner wrench is. Spanner wrench is the thing you like tighten your, know what a spanner wrench is. The British do not. I'm looking at, I just Googled in and spanner wrenches like something.

Speaker: I have one that I tighten my, um, Jacob's Chuck with him. I lay Yeah, I have one for a spindle. I have. Yeah. OK, so that's what you're talking about. How do you get you get your penis stuck in that? It's it's a British article.

Speaker: The British call any wrench a spanner. Oh, I see what you mean. Sorry. So, yeah, the the image associated with this is of a combination wrench. So open end and then captured on the other end.

Speaker: OK. So I would imagine it was in the the ring portion of the of the wrench.

Speaker: There's so much detail here. I'm thinking he's full of shit, but um no, that's you. and Yeah, yeah.

Speaker: I want to say to dudes, it's trying to start a Chick-fil-A on his own on a side hustle. That's that's got to be it. You're going with that one is a fake one. That's the fake. guy OK. Ryan, what are you thinking?

Speaker: I think Spanner wrench dick guy is fake. If you got it in, you can get it out. It only gets softer. That's a solid logic.

Speaker: All four of us got one. We know the animatronics. The wrench? yes I mean, i would hope you own a wrench, Jared. ah do. He's never used it, but he probably... You don't have to I'm going to use either one of those things. Yeah, I'm out of that story. No.

Speaker: now If you got it on there, you can get it off there. There's no way. It's not like a finger where there's a bone in the middle. Okay, I'm going to go Moonrock just so that we have a winner.

Speaker: Wow. Okay, you guys are doing this again. Covering all the bases. I've gotten the last two right, haven't I? I'm on a short streak. Yeah.

Speaker: Everybody locking in on those answers? Mm-hmm. Locked. Sorry about your streak, Ryan. Like a rock. Dennis dennis got it, like a rock. again Because honestly, I was thinking then, fuck NASA. No one would ever do that at NASA. that's That was what I came down to.

Speaker: You can buy moon rocks on eBay. and you yeah i've been in somebody else's ass ass ass

Speaker: hey um i'm two and o this year for ah fake news doing good we gotta get him on with sharkey okay sharky who is super competitive about it i came't he was one of them who oh like three or three and know or Oh, man, there was part of this this story with the with the wrench that i I had to read on air.

Speaker: man, where did it go? I cannot find it. It was something along the lines of ah the man told the doctors that he had a very vivid dream where his penis was stuck or he was putting his penis into a spanner wrench. And when he woke up, the wrench was just there.

Speaker: That's as bad as, yeah, I tripped on it and it went up my ass. Totally. Just as bad. ah Penis wrench sent in by Posing Metalworks. NASA sent in by David Burke, Road 44 Customs, MD Edgeworks, and Brigham Kindell.

Speaker: And then Chicken Heist sent in by Road 44 Customs. So thank you, gentlemen, for your contributions to the show. very good i'm looking right here no you can buy a 4.5 gram moon rock 4.5 grams that's like a pebble yep it is like a pebble how much 115 bucks that's cheaper than gold well it should be

Speaker: i There's a lot more gold than there is moon rocks on Earth. I'm just saying. oh Another one. $170. So that wouldn't be very hard to put up your ass.

Speaker: This is the least safe for work episode that our Triple T has ever done. Are we going to talk about knives on this episode? or like why Jared, you make any knives recently? um I'm making progress.

Speaker: Slowly. I want to hear it. That's it. what what about He's making progress, not knives. What about that Christmas 2027 one that you had? to Yep.

Speaker: You're getting going on that one? Yep. That one's already profiled. o This is my favorite thing to do, guys. oh i it's deadline The deadline is Christmas 2027? Six.

Speaker: The joke is 27. yeah It's a stipulation in the order. This is this Christmas, not next Christmas, Jared. So, that's it. you get You got to make a knife before Christmas?

Speaker: Wow. wo You guys got to pressure you guys gotta get something better than this, guys. Come on. ah It's pretty sad when that's the kind of pressure you have is like two and a half months to make a knife.

Speaker: It's good pressure for me. It's really not none at all. Yeah, it's low cortisol. That's a low cortisol timeline. yeah you go Yeah. I'm on a stress-free life here, boys.

Speaker: You guys deal with all the pressure. Yeah. Speaking of stress and knives, I reached a decision the other day. I am done doing custom orders, at least for a while.

Speaker: Yeah, I came to that realization a long time ago. Customs orders are a pain in the ass. Yeah. and And that is no shade on any of my customers except maybe one or two of them.

Speaker: ah Yeah. That is not what that one. I just, I just, it it takes so much time. i mean, just, I've been, I mean, I've been getting lots of requests lately and that's, you know, it's great. It's wonderful. You know, I'm, I'm appreciative to, to have people interested in my knives, but yeah,

Speaker: I mean, I've probably done like six, not six, but I've done a few drawings for people. And then then I just get left on read. It's like you spent so much time talking to me to the point where I did a drawing for you. And then you're just going to.

Speaker: That's it. Not to mention just like all the random people just asking me questions about customs and then never hearing back from them. So what did you draw? Like a picture of a knife.

Speaker: Oh, see, I make them give me what they want. You find me an example. Yeah. Well, they'll they'll give me like an example photo like, hey, I want it to be similar to this knife. And then I draw it in my style because I'm not going to make somebody else's knife.

Speaker: Oh, I just say, oh, OK, well, imagine I made it. And then give me your money. OK, I could have warned you because in the tattoo world, my brothers, they never draw anything until they get a deposit.

Speaker: because you'll fucking be drawn tattoos that other tattoo artists are going to end up doing. Oh. Because they'll undercut you. I mean, I don't think it's quite as bad with knives, but I totally understand where you're coming from. like Yeah, yeah. Yeah. i need I need to get a good example of what they want me to make for me to give them an accurate quote.

Speaker: So that's that's why I'll i'll do drawings. I mean, unless it's like super elaborate and fancy, like, I mean, what did, yeah. I mean, how custom is, is, are like systems hang on Dennis. It's possible that I was overthinking it.

Speaker: Let's just say that. Yeah, I think so. But anyways, yeah, I'm done doing customs. I'm going to take it, take it off my website. I'm going to freaking put drops only on my social medias and I'm done with it. Pussy.

Speaker: I had a guy asked me to do one of those. yeah It's from a video game, like ah co koonna knife it's like a um It's like a throwing knife. Have you seen? you know I don't know remember. yeah yeah So he asked me. I've done one of those like a long, long time ago for a video.

Speaker: Did one. Because I think somebody asked me or something. Whatever. So I did it for video. And then the guy, i guess, saw the video and he wanted two of them in Damascus. And this is like a year and a half ago. And I said, yeah, yeah maybe I can do it.

Speaker: And I pushed him off and pushed him off. And he finally came a year and a half later. He's like, hey, are you still going to do this? and I'm like, no, I'm not doing it. Oh, that's terrible.

Speaker: yeah I sent him to some other some other people. In fact, I sent him to you guys. um I put both your names down as someone who might do customs.

Speaker: Seriously, he may have contacted you. I don't know. I don't pursue customs because batches are kind of where my mind is at, but I won't turn down a fucking thing.

Speaker: My only limitation is the length of my kiln. So I'm like, i yeah. What do you want me to make? Okay. He was one of those guys. He had some very specific um like things he wanted. And when people start getting really specific, I don't like those kind of customers because they're never going to be happy.

Speaker: what kind of specifics like because there is a line you know like there's been some designs where i've been like what do you want this to do that's the opposite of what you should have me do if you want this to do that he wanted like a raised um like a embossed rim around the edge of it like there was some very specific like he had the design down he wanted luta du like like You would have had to have a laser to do it because he wanted this like outline. late and It was very specific stuff.

Speaker: Which I could have done on my laser, but you know i was it did not sound like a fun project. and I take back literally everything I just said. Don't send that guy to me. I don't want to do that shit either.

Speaker: Yeah, I didn't think so. but I had a guy ask me for a teardrop shaped blade one time. So like if you were looking, it was it was like a bubble.

Speaker: Was it like a dagger? No, for a chef knife. What the fuck? That's what I said. I said, i no. what He's like, it's my design. And I was like, I i know. I understand that.

Speaker: But that's a bad idea. and I had to explain to him why. Did you though? yeah Yeah. Did you have to explain it to him? yeah i did ah said we should not do that did he accept your explanation no they never do i did not end up getting that client i don't know if you ever found somebody to make it for him best of luck to you sometimes that shit will happen yeah and that's fine yeah i've had some crazy custom requests in the past but

Speaker: um I had a guy that wanted Tai Chi sword and he had it down to like 10,000th. Like I want this to be two hundred and thirty thousandth I want this. And I was like, I'm not your guy.

Speaker: Jeez. I don't think anybody's that guy's guy. No. No. You don't want handmade. If that's what you want, you don't want handmade. No. not la You know what I do want?

Speaker: the two grinders that I have in my shop because they are phenomenal. They're both Ameribraid fastbacks. And when I'm doing my, my rhyming, I'll Ryan out,

Speaker: 10 blades at a time. And yeah you' I got one now too, Jared. If I'm Jareding out blades or if I'm Ryan in blades, it does it all. The, the fastback two by 72 by Ameribraid.

Speaker: ah That's, that's my go-to machine. And you can go check them out um at Ameribraid.com. and use the code either hustle 10 or triple t 10 these guys code that's fine i was just gonna let him say it it's their ad yeah t ten ah jared doesn't listen to hustle and grind so he doesn't know what ryanning blade means so could you explain that to him Oh, absolutely. Yeah. So Jared in the blade, we know, we know what that one means, right? It's, it's generally profiling, but generally just not finishing a blade. Ryan in the blade is anything that's done in a batch.

Speaker: Bevel grinding mostly. Yeah. Gotcha. um That makes sense. I was going to say, is it, is it, is it grinding bevels? No, it's just doing anything in quantity. basically.

Speaker: So I'm currently Ryan-ing 20 blades right now. 20? i'm I'm doing a whopping Ryan-ing three blades right now. I guess I'm currently Ryan-ing 20 blades too. just that a very Not Ryan Pace.

Speaker: o I made three feet of Kumai last week, so I was happy about that. Damn. Three feet? Yeah. Is that just like so that you have a bunch of kumai or for a project?

Speaker: ah Well, it was for these three folders. And I started with a massive stack gradient. And then by the time I stretch out, I'm like, ooh, this is going to make a lot. So I have enough for like a buoy and like four other folders at least.

Speaker: So. Wow. Yeah. Yeah, I was pretty happy about it. okay I made Damascus in a while, so it was fun.

Speaker: Yeah, you were saying that on your show that you hadn't really done any. And I'm kind of in the same boat. I haven't really been inspired to forge. Or maybe it's just cause i don't want to use my press. I don't know why.

Speaker: We'll see. Are you afraid? but Eventually. You got to get back on that horse. See, i'm I'm not afraid. like That's the thing. is like I'm not scared by my press. I just haven't had the inclination to forge. Maybe now that it's getting cooler, I i probably will once it starts getting a little bit more cool. It was like 90 degrees today. It's ridiculous.

Speaker: But once it starts cooling off, then I'm going to get that itch to move some hot steel. I think that's yeah that's probably what I need. It's cooling off quick here. It's 47 right now. Mm-hmm.

Speaker: I got two gallons of oil today. That fucking was like not cool. I had the shop open all day today. It was nice. Nice.

Speaker: Hell yeah. I only have, i have exactly one month until Austria. So my plan is to finish the folders, probably make one more. and then, uh, I got some sheaths to do and that's my, that's all I'm doing.

Speaker: Being West Coast, do they put send you guys over the Pacific to get there? No. That would take forever. No? um No. It's still much closer going going east.

Speaker: Oh. It's 11 hours from, yeah, we're going from SF. It's different. We're taking different flights. But basically, we're going SF to London direct. Jeez.

Speaker: And then London to, which is only like a two and a hour flight. That's 11 ah 11 hours on a plane? dan I don't know if I can do it. One stretch.

Speaker: I got to go to San Antonio next week, and I just started thinking about it. That's going to be like four and a half, five hours, and i'm like, ugh. This is why we got the business class seats for the 10-hour flight.

Speaker: It might be 10 hours. It's 10 to 11, something like that, depending which way we we're going. Yeah, that's brutal. I hate the five-hour flight to Atlanta. I mean, that is just... It sucks.

Speaker: Yeah, but I mean... I've been on 10-hour-plus flights before. You watch three movies. You have a nap. You get two full... Especially with the fancy seats. You get two full hot meals.

Speaker: um ah It's nice. wow so It's not so bad. And I'm paying for the internet, so that I'm going to have internet the whole time.

Speaker: There you go. i mean, you kind of have to at that point. I mean, if you're going to be on plane for 10 hours, I mean. Yeah, I think so. yeah Maybe I'll do some video video edit editing.

Speaker: I like to spy the screens of the people in in the seats in front of me.

Speaker: Dude, i was watching I was watching a movie, and it's you know it's on the seat back, right? So like everybody around you can see what you're watching. And everybody told me, what's that the movie about the dude who makes the atomic bomb?

Speaker: Oppenheimer. oh op Oppenheimer, yeah. I watched Oppenheimer. There are some awkward scenes in that movie that I was not prepared for, especially for there to be like random people like around me, just like looking at what I'm watching. Like if somebody was to like look over at like an awkward point in time, it would, that would not be ideal.

Speaker: I don't know why it's stuck in my mind. I think there's worse movies than Oppenheimer. but At least you weren't watching like Brokeback Mountain or something. Okay, yeah, that's that would definitely be worse. Yeah. You're going to make Noah uncomfortable.

Speaker: ah See, he's speechless now. i guess, yeah. This is called backpedaling, Dennis. you were Homer Simpson into the ivy.

Speaker: ah So anyways, Texas Farrier Supply is where you can go for all of your forging needs. If you need anything from hammers, anvils, tongs, they got it over there at Texas Farrier Supply.

If you want to treat your steel properly. too buddy. yeah two These guys over here, hold hold it up. Okay. um Am I seriously the only one that has one?

Speaker: Yeah. In fact, if you type in rock solid scales, it'll go to the grip tech. How did I not know that? I don't know.

Speaker: i do not know. ah i am kind of in my own little world sometimes.

Speaker: We got one other thing I wanted to mention. um The Cowtown Custom Knife Show is October 3rd and 4th, and that's sponsored by our buddies at um ah Texas Fairies Supply and Two Bastards. So go check that out. If you're in the East Texas area, go check out that Cowtown Custom Knife Show. It's supposed to be a real banger.

Speaker: And it's at the stockyards in Fort Worth. Yeah, I've been there. Which, yeah, most of us have been there. Except for Ryan, because he didn't go.

Speaker: When? Oh, in Fort Worth? No, I didn't go to the stockyard. You were on a plane at time. It's sweet place. I would definitely go to ah ah a show there if I was in the area. Yeah, I would too. You were there? Oh, you just didn't make the trip to the stockyard.

Speaker: yeah Yeah, he had to be on a plane that morning or something. Yeah, he left, I think, a day earlier than we did. Yeah. Yeah, I don't like being away from home. So that sounds like me.

Speaker: I would rather travel more than and be away less time. Yeah. that means Hey, should we do some maker spotlights? Let's do it. All right. I will kick us off here. Uh, I am apparently continuing my, uh, fascination with Brazilian makers and, uh, it's getting a little awkward here, boys. know, right?

Speaker: I am going to call out, um Craviano Cardosa is his name and his IG Craviano. That's C-R-A-V-I-A-N-O Facas, which is... I love that.

Speaker: Which is forging in Portuguese. Craviano Facas Custom. um And that... I'm going to put it in the notes here so you guys can go there. um The one that caught my eye is the second one in um in his page there.

Speaker: ah The first one on the second row, which is just amazing. Just love the Damascus on this one. And the finish on the Damascus is just hot. It is very, very good.

Speaker: Just a, it's a beautiful knife. Love the work on the pommel. um Yeah. Just killer. And looking at that Damascus, like the third one on the top, like just the symmetry on that Damascus, that is like perfection.

Speaker: Like it looks like a machine did that. Yeah, it's really hard to get Damascus that perfectly symmetrical. I see a lot of high-level stuff come out of South America.

Speaker: Oh, yeah. Like I don't know what they what they put in the water down there, but fuck. It's crazy.

Speaker: So, yeah, and he's only got 3,700 followers, but amazing, amazing stuff. Holy crap. Every time you do this, I want to make fun of you for staying on this trip, but I get little awestruck with all this.

Speaker: This stuff's incredible. Yeah, I mean, it's, we're, um um i'm I'm somewhat glad there isn't like a, you know, a local Brazilian corollary to the ABS down there. Cause they would make us look really bad. Yeah.

Speaker: yeah Do you guys see the the one that's like on a stand with the the Griffin? Yeah. That that's very cast knives ish to me. Yeah. I can see that. Yeah.

Speaker: Like I, when I look it and I've said this before, like I think some of the Brazilian makers, uh, the problem is they're starting to all look the same, which is, it's not a problem, but I mean, it's like they're, that's ah they're very influenced by similar designs. I think like they do a lot of that carving. I don't know if it's cast or if like where it came from, but they, they do a lot of carving, a lot of those very flowy, fancy buoys.

Speaker: Um, But yeah, but I do appreciate the Damascus is next level. It's great beautiful work. Yeah. All right.

Speaker: Who's next? Jared's always ready. oh Yeah, sure. i was a stumbling around on um the Instagram and this thing popped up in my feed and this is lamish underscore knives. L-A-M-A-S-H. This is I think he's out of Ukraine. I'd use a translation there. Has 2,320 followers.

Speaker: This dude made a grinder, but he's got like a bicycle tire. or Oh, I've seen this. And I was just like, there's no way. And yeah, he's using it.

Speaker: And I just think it's super awesome. And he deserved to get a little shout out. So and then I was stumbling around his his page there and he he he does some some good work too. But yeah, I just think that's that's awesome. And I just wanted to give him I'm looking at it now. Yeah, it's crazy, right?

Speaker: ah Yeah, it's one way to get a 14-inch wheel. Yeah. Or ah sorry, ah probably a 20-inch wheel. Yeah, that thing's on dubs for sure. That's crazy. That's pretty cool. Yeah.

Speaker: So, ah yeah. Go check out lamish underscore knives. Give them a follow and give them attivoy for thinking outside of the box. Pretty cool stuff. All right. Hearing to follow.

Speaker: Yeah, I don't have to follow him now, too. Ryan, who you got? Fuck, I don't got nobody, man. what I told you to get somebody.

Speaker: I know, but I don't like doing homework and oh my goodness, it just didn't happen between that and now. I mean, I only have like an hour, bro. Give me a break. and there okay No one is special to Brian. So Noah, who do you have? girl That's so hurtful.

Speaker: Yeah. To the unnamed feature. the The entire knife community. You're not special to Ryan. That's all right. Let's talk about.

Speaker: Have you guys seen Joran knives? Joran knives. What's the J O R I N N knives. One word. a o He was doing like a reverse countdown clock to become a knife maker. i have seen that one on Tik TOK. I think I've talked to him a bunch in DMS and stuff. He's a super rad dude.

Speaker: I think he's pulling one over on us, bro. I think he is. Yeah. His knives are so fucking clean. There's no way. what What is it? What is the handle again? I can't. i

Speaker: J-O-R-I-N-N knives. One word. Joran knives. I love this dude. He's rad. He's also a tattoo artist. So I bond with him over that too.

Speaker: And he's from Massachusetts. Looking at the knives that are like in the fourth row. Yeah. Those are not knives from someone who just started. I can tell just by the contour of the handle. I told him in his post, I was like, bro, you're fucking with us.

Speaker: Are you fucking with us? And I put a picture of my first knife. i was like, look at this piece of shit. Are you fucking with us? That's a good that's a good one, bro. Benefit of the doubt.

Speaker: Maybe we might have a prodigy on our hands. Yes.

Speaker: Even if he is fucking with us, that's a good stick and ah and a good... good way to get some traction so oh bro i wouldn't be offended at all if he was fucking that's that's a cool deal that's a cool gig right there i mean that's a way you imagine like sure ah a few months from now he like pans from his vever piece of shit grinder no offense over and he's got like a full shop set up with fucking everything it's three even heats just leapfrog right over noah just

Speaker: We may, if he if he's not fucking with us, have a Dennis Tyrell 2.0 on our hands. Oh. I don't know what the proof is. Like, not possible or easy to No, I meant yeah what what's with that comparison. His ego is hard to check.

Speaker: Hard to check sometimes. Because cause everything Dennis Tyrell touches turns to gold. Jeez, what are you, my wife? this is we counter this kind of behavior in the living room with kim here right we don't condone we don't encourage yeah or we throw up in our mouth when we say he did something good yeah but exactly yeah on the spot i was i was literally looking through my dms nice and i it was all like regular guests of the show or like the homies i can only glaze up micah so much so you can call it anybody you want

Speaker: Well, I called out Joran. Well, I'm going to glaze up one of the homies because i was planning I was planning on shouting out our boy Hensley over there at Hensley Handmade.

Speaker: ah Not necessarily for his knives, but for his absolute swagger when it comes to social media in general because he did it again.

Speaker: As he says, whenever views get low, you just bust out that feather video and things happen. And he did. And so well done, Hensley. Props to him. My hat, if I was wearing one, would be tipped to Hensley.

Speaker: It's Hensley underscore handmade underscore, right? That one? Yes. Okay. Just make it true.

Speaker: Yep. Shout out to our boy Hensley. He's killing it as always. I'm jealous of his schedule. Like he's a, he's a firefighter. So he works like, like four on three off. I think.

Speaker: Yes, i know. I feel like he was only like three, but he works like 24 hour shifts or something like that. So he works like three 24 hour shifts and then he has like four full days off. Yeah. It's like, oh yeah, sorry, that's what I meant. yeah It's like the perfect knife making schedule.

Speaker: Like you could just like work for a few days straight and then you got plenty of time to work on knives, do social media, do all of the other stuff. Man, that's just... i i don't know, man. i you know it's even i had a buddy and it seemed I had a buddy that worked full time and was still in the shop 24-7.

Speaker: And then the fucker went and retired so he could do the same thing. So I don't know. well The firefighter schedule is a little bit of a flex. It's even easier.

Speaker: yeah

Speaker: While we're in a lull, I'll just tell everybody that if they wanted to buy some abrasives to put on their Ameribrain that we were talking about earlier, you can go to phoenixabrasives.com and check out all the abrasives that you could ever need.

Speaker: I mean, they have disc sanding... like stick-on ones. They have sanding paper that you can put onto your disc sander. They have 2x72 belts. They have 1x30 belts. They have, well, you have to actually custom order them, but you can get 4x106 belts. Doesn't matter.

Speaker: If they don't have it, they'll make it for you. We also have the Hustle & Grind Belt Pack, an all-in-one pack that includes all the belts that you need to make a knife from start to finish. Go to phoenixabrasives.com and use the code HUSTLE10 for 10% off your entire order.

Speaker: Now, we have paid all the bills. Ryan. Have you, have you used those ones, the disc grinder? I mean, the, the disc ones where you actually take the thing off and it has adhesive and you stick it on the plate. Have you ever used those?

Speaker: I have. Yes. Yes. which What's your question about them? no i'm just every time i bought some of those now i have those but i never actually take the backing off and i just use the spray and i stick them on because i'm i'm literally too lazy to cut a sheet of paper i like the round ones that i just stick on there but i the one ah the ones i bought didn't buy them at phoenix abrasives but when you stick them to that aluminum wheel it takes an act of god to get them off there that's why i never do it

Speaker: Oh, yeah. That was my experience with them. I had to melt mine off of the torch. Yeah, the it's awful. Mine wasn't that bad. Yeah. But they work great if you just stick them on and then with the adhesive and just don't take the backing off.

Speaker: Works great. Yeah. So what I noticed was...

Speaker: They're a lot thicker than because normally I'm just throwing Rhino wet on there and then just cutting the edge or whatever. um But the the the actual stick on discs, they're a lot thicker. they So it's I don't want to say more uneven, but like when you're using a disc, Andrew, you're trying to get stuff like flat, flat.

Speaker: So it's less it's less flat, flat with one of those discs than if you just put some paper on there. Really? I find since it's got a thicker backing, there isn't as much.

Speaker: like variation. Maybe my disc from airbraid is just truer than yours. I don't know. oh Oh, you, oh, you're, you're using the, um, yeah, the hyper disc.

Speaker: yeah the hyperdi fight and fine fight

Speaker: It's really flat. That's all I'm saying. Like you you throw some some 120 Rhino wet on there. It's it's flat flat. it's It's like you put two pieces of wood on there and then you put them together and then they won't come apart like the mine's flat flat, too. I just mean that I don't that with the spray and stuff. It never gets, know, I like to. Oh, OK. All right.

Speaker: Well, try some from Phoenix abrasives and use the code hustle 10 for 10 percent off. Oh, well, maybe I will. I didn't have to melt mine off with a torch. So. Good. I got that but going for me.

Speaker: I got mine on eBay a while ago. Ah. And then I was like, you know what? I don't like using a disc sander. So.

Speaker: Plus, of mine what you flat mine and um a piece of granite or my grinder. Yeah. When you come for the folder class, we will definitely be using the disc grinder.

Speaker: it's almost a necessity especially for bolsters yeah when you say you're coming that's uh mid-january i think yeah we gotta nail down that date at some point you'll have two mainers in there at the same time god help you know geez yeah that's what i'm actually really excited about with this this laser is now i can laser um like, what I trying to say? Liners onto titanium so that I can make a folder. And that's another reason why I'm not taking customs anymore is because I have stuff that I would like to be doing in my limited amount of shop time is number one is selling knives that sell well or making knives that sell well, which luckily I'm able to do now. So I'd rather spend my time doing that.

Speaker: and also learning how to make my own folder, which I'm really excited to finally be able to do. So that's that's what I want to be spending my time doing. Yeah.

Speaker: Now i I am absolutely fixated on autos. So most of the knives I'm trying to make now are, well, except for the three I'm making right now. But after that, my next one's going to another auto. see you got Oh, yeah. come like Can my class be that push button?

Speaker: ah No. Honestly, you don't want to start with an auto. You need to learn the, like, the the liner lock will teach you the basics. You don't want to start on an auto. You don't know me.

Speaker: Oh, my gosh. All right. You want to learn a liner lock. it'll It'll teach you a whole bunch of basics. I believe you. I believe you. yeah It's exactly what Mike told me when I said I wanted to learn with an auto, and he told me the same thing.

Speaker: said, start with the liner lock.

Speaker: I feel like that's fair. Babysmaps. So um what is your what is your Austria lineup right now? What do you mean? what am i bringing? um The three Kumai folders, which are all identical. um That's out of the three feet of fun you just made? Yeah. So you still got those three to go?

Speaker: But they're done. Like I'm doing finish work on them now. Oh. Wow. Jeez. you want to You want to do a chef knife by a 2026 Christmas? No. got one here. haven't even posted on the website yet. um You can use that one. Thank you. Then I'm going to bring, i have that other, kumai that I actually brought to in June that um with the ivory scales. i don't know you remember. i have that one. I've got the, that blue, the blue one with the blue molar.

Speaker: mammoth molar um the odd that push button auto and then i've got the like three buoys okay and then the dagger but the dagger is actually sold the guy who just trying lives in austria that's picking it up um yeah i think that's a problem to have so um Yeah, that's the whole lineup. It's mostly, I'm not proud i'm not bringing shaft knives. I'm not bringing anything else. Just folders and buoys. All right.

Speaker: So in total, I'll probably have like maybe 10 knives.

Speaker: That's respectable. What style of folder are you doing those Copper Damascus ones? my um The same one you did. okay. It's the same model.

Speaker: Only because I had some of those lasered um liners. I was just getting rid of them, like using them up. So I don't know that I'll does sand do that many more of those models.

Speaker: That's a great model, dude. I like it a lot. what is good Yeah, I mean, I'm just a more i'm more interested in the top lock ones now. I mean, I'll have those for classes, but um I like the top locking ones more.

Speaker: And I've got two now, two other designs with top locking ones. I'm really a big fan of that oceanic one that I've been doing the last couple. Yeah. So now that like the, the button auto. Okay. With the water jet is, um, is really easy to do because i just water jet, the frames water jet, the blade, and I can pretty much have it put together and ready for finish work in a day.

Speaker: For one. For one. Yeah. Okay. But that's pretty easy. Like, and you know, I have the Damascus is done. I just water jet, the blade water jet, the frames and like, I'm ready to do, um, finish work next day.

Speaker: So that's awesome. You get that up to five in a day.

Speaker: I would have to water jet all of the the things in one day and then do the knives the next day. The water jet's not fast. I was going to say, why why, why Dennis does, does the water jet take a while? Yeah.

Speaker: How many of those ah um knives have you used up? The ones I water jetted for you? Oh, they're they're all in this batch. Oh, nice. Well, that's not true. Not all the fillets, because I have a ton of fillets now, so I am super happy to have just like a backlog of fillet blanks, but I heat-treated everything else, and I'm doing that all in this batch, plus a couple that I jareded out.

Speaker: I just came out with a new model ah tentatively called the Stilicho Tactical. It's a Tonto version so about ta of the...

Speaker: You're just supposed to reel about that? Yeah. Nice. So it's it's pretty similar to the regular camp knife. It's just got a Tonto tip on it because Tontos are like super hot right now. Is it Tonto I call it a Tonto, but apparently it's Tonto. I don't believe... Brent always says Tonto and i want to smack him when he says it.

Speaker: What's the point of a Tonto? I'm on your bandwagon. I say Tonto. Yeah.

Speaker: Ryan, you asked what the purpose of a Tonto was? Yeah. Yeah, it's to sell it. that's Yeah, it looks cool. Oh, so it's like a fighting. like a good hurt fighting poverty.

Speaker: Yeah, is that's exactly what it is. yeah I vibe with that. I got like 60 ninja stars on my bench still. Yeah, see, I've never made one before because they're so impractical because there's no actual. I mean, of of it opens boxes really, really well. Like I noticed that with the the folder that I made with the Tonto, the the whatever you want to call that, the point down here that's on the blade.

Speaker: it's perfect for opening boxes like it just sets right it just zips them right open the tonto fanboys are gonna slaughter you for saying that yeah for being like it's only good for cutting boxes no way man it's an effective killing tool i i got a hot take for you the tonto is for all of those like anime katana like wannabes that's why they carry a tonto because it reminds them of a katana Yeah. Katanto.

Speaker: Katanto.

Speaker: there's a new name for your model. Katanto. Yeah. it's long I like it. No, I even, I even put like a maker material supply. i had the, it's called graphite gray G 10. And I'm like, Ooh, that's a cool color. It's a, it's like, it's a super, super dark gray.

Speaker: And I was like, that is, if I'm making like a tactical knife, it's got to have either black or very, very dark gray. And so I used it for this and I was like, Oh, that's perfect. I actually just got some new carbon fiber from from that Chinese company, Valley Composites, and it's a raindrop.

Speaker: It's fucking cool looking. How's their stuff? I get i get ah targeted ads for them all the time. they have I've ordered from them many, many times. It's amazing stuff. It takes forever to get, but um it's they have really nice stuff.

Speaker: And it comes from overseas? Yeah. Yeah, oh for sure. It's coming from China for sure. But they have like gold fleck, carbon fiber. They've got the raindrop one now. the caught the The copper one that they make is the best one.

Speaker: How does that work like right now with ah the world political climate and tariffs and whatnot? Honestly, it's cheaper than most other places I buy carbon fiber. All right. I'm going have to check them out then. Yeah. Go check it out.

Speaker: i I have the snag. Oh, go ahead, Ryan. I was going to say I have some G10 that was made overseas that I bought in a huge sheet because it already had the liner attached and it's fantastic.

Speaker: Yeah. you You will not be unhappy if you like carbon and fiber. That's what I mostly buy from them. You will not be unhappy. I'll check them out. Yeah.

Speaker: I got some from AJ Composites, that guy that said he was going out of business and then now apparently isn't going out of business. Some of the stuff on his website looks incredible, like colored carbon fiber, like all different kinds of crazy colors and stuff like that.

Speaker: But he does these, you know, like little drop sales where he, you know, first comment gets it. And he had some marbled. Carbon fiber. And I was like, that yes, okay, i'll I'll take that, whatever. didn't even look at it. I was at work. you know I just saw it come across, and i was like, yep, I'll take it.

Speaker: It came in the mail. It is some of the coolest carbon fiber I have ever seen. It almost looks like a topography map, like just kind of like... and And obviously it's a toyant, like you move it in the light and you can see like different.

Speaker: I don't know. I've never seen carbon fiber like it before. And I'm going to make some folders out of it. So I'm pretty nice. And what thickness did you get? It's just like a random grab bag. Like it's mostly eighth inch, but there's some slightly thicker stuff. But yeah, it's mostly eighth inch. So it should be perfect for folders.

Speaker: Yeah, that's my problem. Now it's hard to find carbon fiber in eighth inch. Most of it's like three sixteenths quarter. Or quarter, recorder yeah. That's what I was seeing. that's I have a message you do and you told me about the place that you get it from, um which I was planning on buying some from, but then this came across and I was like, ah yeah, a whole stack of it for $150? Sure, and I'll take it.

Speaker: What you got there? Whoa, what is that? ah Jared's showing us his knob. Did that fall out? That's where Dennis's favorite drop comes from. I could have used that Saturday. yeah ah What was that that you just showed us, Jared? It's a bottle opener. It is?

Speaker: i won this in uh uh oh i wish i had the soundboard right now butt plug but plug okay that's why we have that sound bite from that yeah i want some pens and and this this big old block of i can't remember what it's called but Yeah, I had to message the guy, dude, thank you, man. Love everything. you know that What the hell is this?

Speaker: He's like, oh, it's just a it's a bottle opener. I was like, oh, obviously. Okay, cool. Yeah, of course. I can honestly say I've never seen a bottle opener that looks like that. Yeah, me neither, but I own one. so listeners Listeners, I'm so sorry. You're not going to see it.

Speaker: Not yet.

Speaker: All right. Love it. all right We're way past ah Noah's bedtime. yes Thank you for being considerate of me. all right It's been a fun show.

Speaker: It has. This has been a wonderful crossover. Ryan, you got anything to say before we get out of here? don't fucking know. or um If we were going to put something on a t-shirt from something Ryan said, it would be that. I don't fucking Why are you asking me? A cat smoking a cigarette and saying, i don't fucking know.

Speaker: yeah That's a good shirt. It's still my favorite shirt. I haven't found one yet that ah beats it. The cat could be a little smaller, though.

Speaker: Oh, no, and mean your face. He fucking takes up the whole front of the shirt. That's a big push. You know what I mean? Yeah. They should have put the cat on the back of the shirt. Why? Because then I didn't have to face people.

Speaker: I see it on my back. It's fucking huge. That'd be the cat's ass. Hey, hey, hey.

Speaker: All right. With that, we're out. Listeners, thanks so much for being here. Kind of sorry about it, but not really. Deal with it. And we'll see you next week.

Speaker: Bye-bye. Bye, everybody.
