Life Talks: Fitness and Physical Health

00:00:24
Speaker
Bigger Talks, Bigger Talks.
00:00:25
Speaker
We're back.
00:00:26
Speaker
Another amazing episode.
00:00:28
Speaker
Life Talks, Life Topics with Amina and I. Yes.
00:00:34
Speaker
Hey.
00:00:35
Speaker
I feel like all the girls say, hey.
00:00:38
Speaker
Hey.
00:00:38
Speaker
I don't know where that came from, but.
00:00:40
Speaker
It's going down, baby.
00:00:44
Speaker
Okay, so we're back.
00:00:45
Speaker
What is the topic today?
00:00:46
Speaker
Please tell us all.
00:00:49
Speaker
My favorite topic is.
00:00:51
Speaker
What is that?
00:00:52
Speaker
Physical health and fitness.
00:00:55
Speaker
Sorry I didn't mean to yell like that.
00:00:58
Speaker
If you have headphones on, sorry my bad.
00:01:00
Speaker
But yes, I love this topic so much.
00:01:04
Speaker
It speaks tremendous volumes.
00:01:08
Speaker
Fitness, physical health, you're obviously in this world.
00:01:11
Speaker
I'm a previous college athlete, so it's embedded.
00:01:16
Speaker
Oh yeah, what did you play?
00:01:17
Speaker
I ran track.
00:01:17
Speaker
For who?
00:01:18
Speaker
For who?
00:01:22
Speaker
I'm questioning it.
00:01:24
Speaker
I ran track for A&M in Corpus Christi.
00:01:27
Speaker
Get out of here.
00:01:28
Speaker
I did.
00:01:29
Speaker
You got a scholarship?
00:01:30
Speaker
Yeah.
00:01:31
Speaker
No way.
00:01:31
Speaker
I, what?
00:01:32
Speaker
What?
00:01:33
Speaker
I don't look fit.
00:01:34
Speaker
Girl, you fit as I can be.
00:01:35
Speaker
You know.
00:01:37
Speaker
No, no, no.
00:01:37
Speaker
I remember what I don't remember.
00:01:38
Speaker
Okay.
00:01:39
Speaker
You have so many traits to your wonderful spirit.
00:01:41
Speaker
So do you.
00:01:43
Speaker
Yeah, health, wellness, fitness, emotion.
00:01:47
Speaker
Emotion.
00:01:48
Speaker
Motion changes emotion.

Loving Your Body and Health Awareness

00:01:50
Speaker
So when you move the body, it changes those emotions that you're feeling.
00:01:53
Speaker
Energy in motion.
00:01:55
Speaker
There you go.
00:01:55
Speaker
Energy in motion.
00:01:57
Speaker
So I would ask this.
00:01:59
Speaker
Okay.
00:02:01
Speaker
We are in a movement right now where it's like, love your body.
00:02:04
Speaker
Body shaming has become very, well, it's always been bad, but now that social media is big, you have these random people just talking crap about
00:02:14
Speaker
people in their comments about their bodies and stuff.
00:02:17
Speaker
And so this big thing came about when it comes to body shaming and there are tremendous people coming out, showing their body, saying they love their bodies.
00:02:28
Speaker
But my thing is to truly love yourself.
00:02:32
Speaker
Like if you really, really love yourself, you start doing things for your physical body
00:02:41
Speaker
to where you can prove.
00:02:42
Speaker
It's like your body is doing so much to take care of you.
00:02:47
Speaker
What are you doing to take care of it?
00:02:48
Speaker
You put gas in your car every time it runs on E. But you can't put regular in a Bentley or Ferrari.
00:02:55
Speaker
Your body is a Lamborghini.
00:02:56
Speaker
You need premium gas.
00:02:58
Speaker
And eating healthy is a form of self-respect.
00:03:02
Speaker
Not saying you gotta be perfect.
00:03:05
Speaker
you just gotta be aware of what you're putting in your body.
00:03:07
Speaker
Correct.
00:03:07
Speaker
Also, I believe people don't know, I'm from Baltimore.
00:03:11
Speaker
When I was 17, before basketball games, I was eating McChickens, double cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets.
00:03:19
Speaker
And at the time, it was fine because I was an athlete.
00:03:21
Speaker
But I wasn't processing it.
00:03:22
Speaker
Oh, this is bad for me.
00:03:23
Speaker
I shouldn't eat it.
00:03:24
Speaker
So I will say there are people out there who are doing the best they can.
00:03:29
Speaker
But as you get older, the body does change.
00:03:32
Speaker
And if you create the same habits...
00:03:35
Speaker
your body will change as well.
00:03:36
Speaker
Because you can't just keep putting regular gas in your tank and thinking it's gonna run efficiently as the car ages or you don't get an oil change or a tune-up.
00:03:47
Speaker
And the thing is, in certain areas, Baltimore being one, in certain environments, they don't have a Whole Foods.
00:03:55
Speaker
They don't have the earth bars in there.
00:03:57
Speaker
No, they have carry-outs, they have liquor stores, they have McDonald's, they have Burger King.
00:04:02
Speaker
It's a system, come on.
00:04:04
Speaker
They have Chipotle.
00:04:05
Speaker
In Baltimore, they don't have Whole Foods?
00:04:08
Speaker
Maybe downtown Baltimore.
00:04:10
Speaker
Right.
00:04:11
Speaker
They have more like Safeway or... What's the other grocery store in Baltimore?
00:04:17
Speaker
I don't know the other ones.
00:04:18
Speaker
But, you know, what I'm saying is there's not a very health-conscious, like...
00:04:23
Speaker
thing going on, we be drinking green drinks.
00:04:25
Speaker
Like LA, we live in, come on, we live in Hollywood.
00:04:28
Speaker
It's healthy here, everyone looks good, everyone takes care of their body.
00:04:31
Speaker
Where everybody doesn't have that access to eat good, look good, and feel good because it's not in their world.
00:04:37
Speaker
So, just to go back, I want people to be mindful that when we're talking about health and fitness and holding yourself accountable and being healthy and fit, that we're not saying that everyone has to be perfect.
00:04:49
Speaker
Because we do understand that some people don't have the resources or the information to know what to eat or when they should eat or when to work out.
00:04:58
Speaker
But we're holding each other accountable as individuals.
00:05:01
Speaker
We work out.
00:05:02
Speaker
We try our best to eat healthy because our body and our mind and our spirit is our life.
00:05:07
Speaker
So if you don't have the information, there's ways you can get it.
00:05:10
Speaker
And sometimes you're not programmed to eat healthy and look fit.
00:05:13
Speaker
That's just not part of your life.
00:05:15
Speaker
And that's not what I'm saying.
00:05:17
Speaker
You don't have to have a six pack.
00:05:19
Speaker
What I'm saying is you have to be aware of the things that you're consuming.
00:05:25
Speaker
What's going into your body, what's going into your mind.

Mindful Eating and Healthy Habits

00:05:28
Speaker
The more you start taking care of your mind, you start doing research, you start learning,
00:05:34
Speaker
okay the main causes of cancer are in processed foods okay i know that processed foods cause cancer i'm gonna go to the grocery store and i am not going to buy something that will cause cancer in my body there's a documentary on uh netflix called heal h-e-a-l yeah and there's um it there's a lady on there that's extremely healthy and
00:06:01
Speaker
Did you see the lady doing a tapping on the documentary?
00:06:03
Speaker
She did a tapping?
00:06:04
Speaker
I don't know.
00:06:05
Speaker
You didn't see that?
00:06:05
Speaker
The one with cancer, four-stage cancer?
00:06:10
Speaker
There was one I was tapping.
00:06:12
Speaker
I haven't seen it in a while, but it talks about a lot of the things that we consume.
00:06:19
Speaker
A lot of times, diseases also come from...
00:06:23
Speaker
our thoughts.
00:06:24
Speaker
Stress.
00:06:25
Speaker
Stress.
00:06:27
Speaker
And working out eliminates a lot of that.
00:06:31
Speaker
I would say...
00:06:33
Speaker
A really solid system would be to do research on what you're eating.
00:06:39
Speaker
And I'm not saying go vegan, but choose healthier choices as far as greens go, like your kale, your spinach.
00:06:47
Speaker
I think every state got kale.
00:06:51
Speaker
Or process, how are you feeling?
00:06:54
Speaker
Because food depicts mood.
00:06:56
Speaker
Ooh.
00:06:56
Speaker
Yeah.
00:06:57
Speaker
Okay.
00:06:58
Speaker
I like that.
00:06:59
Speaker
Yeah, you know, I'm a fitness trainer, so I realized over the years, food combining, so say for instance, I have a healthy plate.
00:07:06
Speaker
I have salmon, I have sweet potatoes, I have brown rice, I have Brussels sprouts.
00:07:13
Speaker
That's a kind of unique mix of food, but somewhat healthy, right?
00:07:19
Speaker
But some of those food don't belong on a plate.
00:07:22
Speaker
So it's called food combining.
00:07:24
Speaker
So when you combine the wrong foods in your body, it doesn't digest and process the right way.
00:07:30
Speaker
Also, I believe 80% or 90% of people swallow their food.
00:07:35
Speaker
They don't chew it.
00:07:37
Speaker
So when you swallow your food, you're not getting what you need from it.
00:07:41
Speaker
That's why you're still hungry.
00:07:44
Speaker
Yes, so it's called mindful eating like people don't chew their food.
00:07:48
Speaker
There's a book called the enzyme factor and he talks about this.
00:07:52
Speaker
Okay, that's a book that I'm going to read.
00:07:54
Speaker
Right, you gotta chew your food.
00:07:56
Speaker
People don't do that, they swallow so then they're still hungry.
00:07:59
Speaker
Also, when your body becomes accustomed and conditioned to eating unhealthy foods,
00:08:05
Speaker
It's on a cycle.
00:08:07
Speaker
So when you get the good foods, your body reacts.
00:08:11
Speaker
Like, oh, this is good.
00:08:12
Speaker
It's not good for me.
00:08:13
Speaker
it's reversed because your body's not used to it.
00:08:17
Speaker
So something that's good to you in a bad body is really bad for the bad body.
00:08:22
Speaker
Something that's good because it's not used to having it.
00:08:25
Speaker
So the body's used to the bad food, the bacteria that comes from the bad food.
00:08:29
Speaker
So over years, you just accumulate in that food and then as you get older, things pop up, illnesses, diseases.
00:08:36
Speaker
Because your body's not used to the good stuff.
00:08:41
Speaker
So sometimes it could be a bad effect if people go from eating very unhealthy to eating healthy.
00:08:51
Speaker
That's why fasting is good because it restarts your system, your digestive system.
00:08:56
Speaker
So you're recommending fasting before you change your entire diet.
00:09:00
Speaker
Take your time when you're training like take things away.
00:09:03
Speaker
Okay.
00:09:03
Speaker
No more soda.
00:09:05
Speaker
No more sweets.
00:09:06
Speaker
Okay, do that for two weeks.
00:09:07
Speaker
Then you say no more bread and start replacing it with healthy food But don't force yourself.
00:09:13
Speaker
I'm gonna hardcore vegan boom cuz when I eat vegan food.
00:09:17
Speaker
Oh man, the stomach don't know no my friend everything there is vegan and
00:09:26
Speaker
I tasted the cheeseburger, which was not real dairy.
00:09:31
Speaker
And it tastes just like... Cheese.
00:09:36
Speaker
Cheese!
00:09:38
Speaker
By the way, dairy is bad for anybody.
00:09:40
Speaker
I don't eat dairy anymore.
00:09:41
Speaker
And look at how I clear my skin.
00:09:43
Speaker
There you go.
00:09:44
Speaker
No pimples.
00:09:45
Speaker
You pimple.
00:09:46
Speaker
I ain't got no pimple.
00:09:48
Speaker
And that's from eliminating dairy.
00:09:51
Speaker
Women, we have our hormonal areas right here.
00:09:54
Speaker
You will notice breakouts.
00:09:56
Speaker
Really?
00:09:56
Speaker
On the side of your cheek and your forehead.
00:09:59
Speaker
It's just like hormones.
00:10:00
Speaker
So there are intestines in our...
00:10:02
Speaker
bellies that connect to our face.
00:10:06
Speaker
So when your belly is dirty
00:10:09
Speaker
It flares up on your face.
00:10:11
Speaker
Clean the belly.

Understanding Body Types and Fitness

00:10:13
Speaker
So what helps me or what helped me was celery juice.
00:10:18
Speaker
Celery juice and lemon.
00:10:20
Speaker
They're $60 juicers on Amazon.
00:10:23
Speaker
But there's also like pressed.
00:10:24
Speaker
You can just buy the celery juice.
00:10:25
Speaker
You drink it before you eat anything in the morning.
00:10:29
Speaker
It's a detoxifier.
00:10:30
Speaker
It eliminates inflammation in the body.
00:10:33
Speaker
And when you drink it, you just be feeling like, yes.
00:10:36
Speaker
Yeah, and just know you got to eat for your body type.
00:10:38
Speaker
Right.
00:10:39
Speaker
And you got to know your body type.
00:10:40
Speaker
Right.
00:10:40
Speaker
You know, there's three different body types.
00:10:42
Speaker
There's ectomorph, it's more skinny built.
00:10:46
Speaker
Endomorph, you're more round.
00:10:47
Speaker
Okay.
00:10:48
Speaker
Mesomorph is more muscular.
00:10:49
Speaker
Okay.
00:10:50
Speaker
So ecto is hard to gain weight, easy to lose.
00:10:53
Speaker
Endo is easy to gain, hard to lose.
00:10:55
Speaker
Okay.
00:10:55
Speaker
And mezzo is kind of in between.
00:10:56
Speaker
You can lose fast, gain fast.
00:10:58
Speaker
It's like more athletic built.
00:10:59
Speaker
I think
00:10:59
Speaker
Yeah, I'm that one.
00:11:01
Speaker
Which one?
00:11:01
Speaker
Meso.
00:11:02
Speaker
Meso.
00:11:03
Speaker
Athletic?
00:11:04
Speaker
Okay, cool.
00:11:04
Speaker
Yes.
00:11:05
Speaker
So, just to kind of get everything into perspective for you guys, there are different forms of fitness.
00:11:12
Speaker
Some people do not like going to the gym.
00:11:15
Speaker
That I understand.
00:11:16
Speaker
There's Pilates.
00:11:17
Speaker
If you don't have Pilates,
00:11:18
Speaker
There's yoga.
00:11:19
Speaker
There's so many platforms.
00:11:21
Speaker
There's YouTube.
00:11:22
Speaker
You can do it at your house.
00:11:23
Speaker
As long as you're taking minimal steps to acknowledge your body, that's what you're doing.
00:11:30
Speaker
You're telling your body, okay, you woke up for me today.
00:11:34
Speaker
You walked for me today.
00:11:36
Speaker
Do you even think?
00:11:36
Speaker
And talk to your body.
00:11:37
Speaker
Exactly.
00:11:38
Speaker
Thank you, body.
00:11:39
Speaker
Gratitude for my body.
00:11:40
Speaker
And go get a massage.
00:11:43
Speaker
Come cryotherapy.
00:11:44
Speaker
I just did that.
00:11:45
Speaker
Okay.
00:11:46
Speaker
Guys, it might be TMI, but make love to your women now.
00:11:48
Speaker
Make love to them.
00:11:50
Speaker
Don't just be on top of them.
00:11:51
Speaker
Make love to them.
00:11:52
Speaker
You know, appreciate them.
00:11:53
Speaker
You know what I'm saying?
00:11:54
Speaker
Oh, seriously, it's part of your body.
00:11:56
Speaker
No, it is.
00:11:56
Speaker
You know, take care of that.
00:11:58
Speaker
It's important.
00:11:59
Speaker
Yes.
00:12:00
Speaker
I will say when it comes to your body and food,
00:12:04
Speaker
what is your, you gotta understand your

Mindset and Health Improvement

00:12:06
Speaker
attitude.
00:12:06
Speaker
So if you go on a diet, but your attitude about food is bad, the diet's not gonna work, because you have a negative attitude about it, right?
00:12:14
Speaker
So you have to fix your mind?
00:12:15
Speaker
Yes.
00:12:18
Speaker
So also when it comes to your body, if you're working out every day and you're feeling like it's not working or it's not going to work, then you're going to get what you're thinking.
00:12:26
Speaker
So you've got to change your attitude about those things if you want to see any type of results.
00:12:31
Speaker
Fantastic.
00:12:32
Speaker
Mind over matter.
00:12:33
Speaker
Yeah.
00:12:33
Speaker
We will and we must get better.
00:12:35
Speaker
Basically the core of life talks is all up in here.
00:12:39
Speaker
Mindset.
00:12:40
Speaker
Once you fix that, your whole life will form and it'll be great.
00:12:45
Speaker
Health is wealth.
00:12:46
Speaker
Health is wealth, guys.
00:12:47
Speaker
Mind, body, soul.
00:12:48
Speaker
Do we have a quote for today?
00:12:50
Speaker
We do have a book that I recommend that they should read.
00:12:53
Speaker
It's The Enzyme Factor.
00:12:55
Speaker
It's a great book if you have any other books.
00:12:57
Speaker
I say watch the documentary.
00:12:59
Speaker
Heal.
00:13:00
Speaker
And I recommend Celery Juice.
00:13:02
Speaker
Celery Juice.
00:13:03
Speaker
Clean.
00:13:04
Speaker
Up here, your face will be clear.
00:13:07
Speaker
Alright guys, thank you so much for listening.
00:13:09
Speaker
We'll be back.
00:13:10
Speaker
We'll be back.
00:13:12
Speaker
Peace and love.
00:13:13
Speaker
Peace and love.
00:13:14
Speaker
Amina.
00:13:15
Speaker
Vicky.
00:13:16
Speaker
