This week on The Popcorn Podcast, Tommy and Ryan step into the frenetic world of Ballerina, the high-octane spinoff from the John Wick universe. Seamlessly blending slick action and emotional stakes, Ballerina delivers a killer performance that keeps fans hooked, even if it occasionally leans on franchise familiarity. 🎬 Film Overview Set between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4, Ballerina follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas), a Ruska Roma dancer-assassin, as she seeks revenge for her father’s murder at the hands of a powerful assassin known as the Chancellor.  After training under Winston (Ian McShane) and the enigmatic Director (Anjelica Huston), Eve embarks on a merciless mission that explodes into non-stop carnage and fiery showdowns. 🔍 Episode Highlights * Ana de Armas Steps Up: De Armas brings fierce physicality and layered emotion to Eve, performing most of her own stunts and truly anchoring the action  * Action That Pops: From flamethrower duels to axe-fueled fights, the action sequences deliver signature Wick-style brutality with inventive choreography and bold camerawork  * Tone & Humor: Ballerina infuses dry wit and playful nods—like slapstick TV references—offering a refreshing comedic edge amid the pulses of violence  * Spinoff Strengths & Weaknesses: We debate whether the revenge plot feels recycled, how the supporting characters fare, and where the film stands in comparison to core Wick entries  📊 Ratings & Reactions * Rotten Tomatoes: 75% critics, 93% audience score * Metacritic: Mid‑60s, with praise for action, but criticism toward plot depth  📢 Connect with Us * Tommy: @Tommy_Cresta * Ryan: @Foran12 * The Show: @The_Popcorn_Podcast * Editor (Colin Gallagher): @colingallagher.3

Ryan: yeah ah yeah like

tommy cresta: Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I combined like a stream and a podcast episode.

Ryan: and we

tommy cresta: It was so chaos.

Ryan: out

tommy cresta: go of crazy

Ryan: ah

tommy cresta: We didn't see Wolfman. You wouldn't go see it.

Ryan: I didn't see it. It got terrible reviews.

tommy cresta: terrible

Ryan: I didn't want to anymore.

tommy cresta: Was Wolfman good?

Ryan: Okay. See, that was a pretty good movie.

tommy cresta: Actually, don't answer that. You adding on to it does not make my point better.

Ryan: Okay. Okay.

tommy cresta: It was Mitt.

tommy cresta: No, it wasn't. um well You think it was like the greatest movie of all time?

Ryan: i think it was like a greatest movie all time i'm not but really

tommy cresta: No, I thought it was really good, though. i like It was just was just as good as The Invisible Man.

Ryan: was

Ryan: okay

tommy cresta: okay that was a movie.

Ryan: that was a pretty good movie yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah, I think it was up there with that.

Ryan: i think okay

tommy cresta: and thought it was high quality.

Ryan: i

tommy cresta: I thought the look of The Wolfman was really good.

Ryan: okay but not

tommy cresta: That's not why we're here. Fuck. Wolfman part two. ah

Ryan: We're here to talk about how we have

tommy cresta: We're here to talk about ballerina, as I said. And before we get into that, Ryan, how you been?

Ryan: And before we get to that, Ryan, how do you do that?

tommy cresta: Fine. I ask him every episode.

Ryan: Fine. I don't know. My answer doesn't change.

tommy cresta: My answer doesn't change.

Ryan: It's just fine.

tommy cresta: It's just fine. Are you okay, Ryan?

Ryan: Okay. No.

tommy cresta: No.

Ryan: But yeah, how do we do that?

tommy cresta: um But yeah, Ballerina, it's currently sitting at 76% of Rotten Tomatoes, a 7.3 out-of-town IMDb. It has a 93% audience score.

Ryan: nine

tommy cresta: The critic consensus, though, is equipping a steely on it.

Ryan: The villain? He didn't do shit. No, know, but he didn't do anything.

tommy cresta: Oh, Rotten Tomatoes, why? Oh, whatever. guess we're not getting a critic consensus.

tommy cresta: This film stars Ande Armis, Lance Reddick in his final role, Keanu Reeves, Norman Reedus, and Ian McShane.

Ryan: first time they are this ready yeah of really

Ryan: on

tommy cresta: Oh, and what's his name? Yeah, Gabriel Byrne as Chancellor, the villain of the movie.

Ryan: yeah

Ryan: the villain

tommy cresta: just

Ryan: you didn do shit no i know but he didn't do any

tommy cresta: He's a famous actor. He did. Yeah. People are saying this is – I've been seeing people like TikTok people that I like.

Ryan: People are saying, I just did for particular time to people that I hate on film, and they're saying it's the best movie in the franchise.

tommy cresta: They're opinions film. And they're saying this is the best movie in the franchise. They are wildly awful.

Ryan: No. This movie was good, but it's the worst movie in the franchise.

tommy cresta: That's crazy. Good, but it's the worst movie in franchise. And that's only because it's four of the best action movies I've ever seen in my It's not.

Ryan: And that's only because it's four of the best action movies I've ever seen in my fucking life. It's John Wick.

tommy cresta: It's John. Yeah, but like I didn't think this was like – like I can think of – I think nobody is better than this.

Ryan: I didn't see him acting too much. I thought this was a fun time.

tommy cresta: Like I thought this was a fun time, but it felt like it was the much better than – what was it?

Ryan: It was a much better time.

tommy cresta: The Continental? Is that the name of the movie?

Ryan: Yeah, I didn't even watch that show.

tommy cresta: Yeah, watched Yeah, that was terrible.

Ryan: i didn't feel

tommy cresta: That didn't feel like it was anything in this world.

Ryan: and this is It kept the style perfectly.

tommy cresta: This at least felt like a John Wick movie, like close enough. he kept the perfectly.

Ryan: It was just the execution.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Just the execution.

Ryan: Yeah, there were a lot of executions.

tommy cresta: Yeah. There were lot of executions. There were a lot of executions. There was a lot of killing, which I know is John Wick, but damn.

Ryan: A lot of grenades. I really like the grenades in this movie.

tommy cresta: Every different way to possibly kill a human being in that movie.

Ryan: lot of grenades really like the grenades in this movie

tommy cresta: A lot of of grenades.

Ryan: That was over.

tommy cresta: That was the only thing. There were some of the explosions were so over the top.

Ryan: Those times the explosions were so over the top. Oh, she was dead 20 times over.

tommy cresta: Oh, she was dead 20 times over there.

Ryan: But, you know.

tommy cresta: That table scene was...

Ryan: Oh, yeah.

tommy cresta: Some shrapnel would have made it around that table because it was like right above her.

Ryan: Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, no. Yeah. like

tommy cresta: Oh, you're talking about when she's like, like flips the table and holds it there?

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah. I thought about it.

Ryan: i

tommy cresta: I'm like, if it is a steel table, it would be fine.

Ryan: like

tommy cresta: I mean, move. Or the worst scene in the movie.

Ryan: so yeah

tommy cresta: The wooden door that's somehow invincible.

Ryan: but think of door oh yeah

tommy cresta: She sees them shoot through her

Ryan: yeah now it's Yeah, and then goes behind different wooden door, but the same kind of wooden door, and now it's bulletproof.

tommy cresta: And then goes behind.

tommy cresta: that now event

Ryan: That's fair. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, there was like a couple scenes like that.

Ryan: Mm-hmm.

tommy cresta: And there was definitely scenes where you could tell that they were trying to be as authentic as possible like with real so choreography and everything.

Ryan: was not they connect

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: And it just didn't hold up as well.

Ryan: one i

tommy cresta: I guess when you have the team that they had behind John Wick, which was late every stunt specialist in the world went and did that movie.

Ryan: every stunt specialist in the world with them.

tommy cresta: And their director's a stuntman.

Ryan: And the director of the stuntman, they had a really good stunt set.

tommy cresta: They had everything set up for success. And Alna de Armas, though, kills it.

Ryan: And Alive is a kill.

tommy cresta: She does she does her own stunts.

Ryan: She does her stunts. She's really funny.

tommy cresta: She's really fighting her way through. Yeah, she was doing all the fighting and stuff. she learned I don't think she did a lot of fire.

Ryan: she didn't I don't think she did a lot of the fire Because you could see a little bit of CGI face.

tommy cresta: No, they tried. you could see little bit of CGI.

Ryan: There's one child who turns into the plane.

tommy cresta: There's one shot where she turns with the flamethrower.

Ryan: Oh yeah, it's just not her.

tommy cresta: Oh yeah, just knock her. And it's just straight up a whole different person.

Ryan: And it's just a whole different part of it.

tommy cresta: was like huh

Ryan: didn't really notice.

tommy cresta: And the biggest criticism for this movie, and you know it's bad when even Connor says something to me?

Ryan: Yeah. Okay.

Ryan: so

tommy cresta: They ADR'd a lot in the beginning. There was like three scenes that me and Connor at the same time were like,

Ryan: like i didn't really notice i just the

tommy cresta: That looked bad.

Ryan: and

tommy cresta: There was a scene where she her mouth doesn't move and a whole sentence came out.

Ryan: her apples and

tommy cresta: And i was like, ooh.

Ryan: help school a lot

tommy cresta: A lot of it was the young girl.

Ryan: um

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: So that makes sense. But then there was one with Ande Armis right when it switches to her.

Ryan: then like okay

tommy cresta: Yeah. So I don't know what happened there.

Ryan: definite

tommy cresta: will the beginning the opening scene, was kind of like, just moving to then it picks up, actually.

Ryan: Yeah, I will say the beginning, the opening scene, I was kind of like, is this movie going to bad? And then it picks up, thankfully. But that the opening scene fine.

tommy cresta: The opening scene. I like the action, though. Like, the way that guy was moving looked good.

Ryan: Yeah, I do like that guy.

tommy cresta: I do like that guy.

Ryan: i forget his name, but he's from Umbrella Academy, too.

tommy cresta: name. Oh, really?

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Yeah, he was good though. I think i watched like three episodes that.

Ryan: The first season was fun, and then it kind of teeters off.

tommy cresta: The first season fun. That's ass.

Ryan: Yeah, my dad loves it, though.

tommy cresta: My dad won.

Ryan: so

tommy cresta: my So does my dad.

Ryan: He loves that show.

tommy cresta: My dad tried to tell me for the first three seasons it was better than the boys. My dad hates Andor season two, so it sounds like they're wrong.

Ryan: why so they something are wrong

tommy cresta: That's crazy.

Ryan: That's crazy.

tommy cresta: My dad loves Andor.

Ryan: That's amazing. Your dad would text me every night he watched and'd be like, dude, Andor is so good.

tommy cresta: I'm going to say five. Every night he watches The Last of Us episode two.

Ryan: Really? What? That's crazy.

tommy cresta: Oh, really? Not a single tear. Just pure anger. Jess, ah she was she said she's not watching anymore. I don't care what happens.

Ryan: that's crazy

tommy cresta: She's like, it's stupid.

Ryan: no she's got to do she's got to watch season two

tommy cresta: No, she's got to watch season two. See if it actually works.

Ryan: see if it actually works

tommy cresta: I know.

Ryan: he

tommy cresta: i needed I told her she needs to watch it.

Ryan: inquired to water like exactly you really don't

tommy cresta: was because she's like, I know that this is exactly like every other revenge movie. I know how it's going to I'm like, no, you don't. I'm like, I'm trying not to tell her what's goingnna happen. like Just watch it.

Ryan: just

tommy cresta: But that's not why we're here. It's not talking about our parents' film opinions. Most of them are terrible.

Ryan: terrible most of the

tommy cresta: I think most of time we talk about anything other than the ballerina. Yeah.

Ryan: who

tommy cresta: Who directed Ballerina? That's what want to check.

Ryan: whos len something or other

tommy cresta: Len's help. Len Weisen.

Ryan: Len Wiseman.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Who else have they?

Ryan: What else has he done? Let's see.

tommy cresta: It's Rondo. Connor, this is the whole thing.

Ryan: Connor, this is the whole thing.

tommy cresta: It's just us.

Ryan: It's just us going like, who did this?

tommy cresta: And I'm like, who did this? Let's look at this.

Ryan: Let's look this up and record it.

tommy cresta: the guy made the Underworld movies.

Ryan: You guys ever do your research before?

tommy cresta: You guys ever like do your research before? you

Ryan: No, that's a lot more work than we're willing to do.

tommy cresta: yeah ah No, no, no. That's too much.

Ryan: have

tommy cresta: God. Why did these people listen to you? I have no idea.

Ryan: no idea. I don't know.

tommy cresta: We've...

Ryan: I don't think they do. I think he's just lying.

tommy cresta: think Yeah, we just – that guy just took a picture of us.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah, no, I don't know.

tommy cresta: just

Ryan: That was a little hard time.

tommy cresta: That was the funniest thing because really did think he went up to talk to you. I was like, oh, he had talked to Ryan.

Ryan: probably No, I would have got back and like, guys, somebody recognized me.

tommy cresta: Nothing. no I would have got back and been like, gosh, many times. I would have been

Ryan: I'm Yeah, we can talk football movies.

tommy cresta: Yeah, that guy's going to D1 in Georgia. Oh, really? Yeah, he's a fan of ours.

Ryan: Don't pay nobody.

tommy cresta: and I was like, yo, NIL money.

Ryan: No. Uh-uh. was

tommy cresta: You're more than welcome to come on the show for a nice fee. Yeah.

Ryan: yeah and talk football movies feel other way

tommy cresta: Usually it's the other way around. You pay him to come on the show. no, he's good. Yeah, where the fuck's my money at, dude?

Ryan: plan

tommy cresta: That's different.

Ryan: pay nobody bu no

tommy cresta: I owe you 12 bucks, actually.

Ryan: open tall

tommy cresta: Yeah, he does.

Ryan: yeah

Ryan: Um, awesome.

tommy cresta: This film also has a 59% on Metacritic.

Ryan: What's he doing? E?

tommy cresta: um

Ryan: Yeah, E. Parkara.

tommy cresta: What's her name? Eve?

Ryan: His father's murder.

tommy cresta: Yeah, Eve Macaro. This follows her as she's trying to get revenge with the people that killed her father and her mother.

Ryan: As she's driving her crack, she's feeling like she's from her father and her mother.

tommy cresta: And it turns out to be this whole cult.

Ryan: She turns out she's called cult, and she's just behind her in this night of action and violence.

tommy cresta: And we just find her through this night of action and violence. It wasn't a cult, dude.

Ryan: It wasn't a cult, dude.

tommy cresta: No, that was a cult.

Ryan: No, don't know. She was a cult. I know.

tommy cresta: That was actually probably my least fair part.

Ryan: That was my life. didn't want to be careful.

tommy cresta: Was the villains of the movie.

Ryan: Yeah, the end kind of said the middle of the movie was the best part for sure.

tommy cresta: Yeah, when she's like trying to figure it out.

Ryan: yeah yeah and love like but there was no peter

tommy cresta: but when And I love the idea of it being like a town. But there was no gate or anything to get into this town. So you're telling me the FBI, the CIA, none of them have ever noticed this town.

Ryan: Yeah. Or just some backpackers like, oh, this a nice town.

tommy cresta: Or some bad actors. Like, oh, there's a nice town.

Ryan: We can get a drink here. And you're like, you're not fucking leaving.

tommy cresta: You're never going to shot.

Ryan: You're never going to leave. No. Yeah. Some little kid pulls a Glock on You're like, what the fuck?

tommy cresta: Yeah, so there was... Well, I think that was the whole idea of that when she first got into the coffee shop or whatever.

Ryan: like i idea

Ryan: coffee shop or whatever everything seemed normal they realize she's there fuck shit hu then all of sudden everyone broke here the coffee shop and fuck tell you made last night you preum early be grand come back again Yeah,

tommy cresta: Everything seemed normal, but then they realized, like, She's there to fuck shit up. So then, all of a sudden, everyone broke character, came in the coffee shop, and fucked things up. Yeah, but they only went outside because they were going to grab guns to come back to get her.

tommy cresta: Yeah, that because they knew who she was, or just because she was an outsider?

Ryan: just go hear no

tommy cresta: Well, no, because there have been anything saying that they knew who she was yet.

Ryan: yeah no i think it's just because she's an outsider because even when she's driving through and that little kid

tommy cresta: Yeah, it was she's see once she's driving through that little bit

Ryan: just looks at her and just goes like that

tommy cresta: was like that

Ryan: like jesus

tommy cresta: jason

Ryan: Yeah. If you just stumble into that town, you are fucked.

tommy cresta: if you just stumble yeah yeah that they it

Ryan: It's over. Yeah.

tommy cresta: John Wick has unbelievable scenes like scenes that don't like the jacket that's not a thing

Ryan: john

Ryan: like the No, yeah. We're falling down 30 flights of steps and just getting back up.

tommy cresta: falling down thirty yeah

Ryan: You're like, Jesus Christ.

tommy cresta: that scene's amazing though that is the worst you watch him go all the way up have you seen the fourth one

Ryan: Oh, it's the best. That is the worst feeling. You watch him go all the way up. He has to go all the way down.

Ryan: We got to watch it tonight.

tommy cresta: We gotta watch it tonight.

Ryan: We have to go back and watch it.

tommy cresta: It's Dude, unbelievable.

Ryan: It is unbelievable.

tommy cresta: We went and we watched it and there's Lea's scene.

Ryan: Okay. We watched it. It's so pluralized.

tommy cresta: It's so demoralizing. You're watching yes!

Ryan: You're watching

tommy cresta: Fuck!

Ryan: it. He gets to the top all the way back.

tommy cresta: It's like the longest steps in the country.

Ryan: down

tommy cresta: In really in France, right?

Ryan: It was in Paris, yeah.

tommy cresta: ah Yeah, France.

Ryan: It's pretty long.

tommy cresta: It's like the longest flight of steps. And he gets all the to the top and goes all the way back down just to go back up.

Ryan: It's all all the way back. have to go back.

tommy cresta: All while broken bones, stab wounds.

Ryan: Are you doing anything tonight?

tommy cresta: No, he doesn't break bones.

Ryan: I'll watch it tonight.

tommy cresta: It's John Wick, dude.

Ryan: Sounds like we're watching John Wick 4.

tommy cresta: No, he breaks bones. You watch the bones be broke.

Ryan: We might be turning on John Wick 4.

tommy cresta: You've seen the first three, though, Yes, I have. I haven't seen the fourth. Are you doing anything tonight?

Ryan: are you doing anything tonight i'll watch it tonight watch buildingt

tommy cresta: Yeah, we're watching the Phillies. We're watching the Phillies. Sounds like we're watching John Wick 4.

Ryan: that's why we're watching john mc for we can do both okay

tommy cresta: We can do both. Because the way the Phillies have been playing, it might be over by the third.

Ryan: i we might yeah we might be turning on john mcco

tommy cresta: Sadly.

Ryan: the I was listening to WIP, and this guy was like, we got a pretty easy schedule coming up, the Cubs.

tommy cresta: I was listening to WIQ. was like schedule coming off the Cubs.

Ryan: and then

tommy cresta: We gotta go play the Mets.

Ryan: Yeah, like the Cubs are – Cubs are above us.

tommy cresta: The Cubs are playoffs above us.

Ryan: They're above us.

tommy cresta: This is probably the hardest part of our schedule yet. yeah

Ryan: Yes.

tommy cresta: I know.

Ryan: I know.

tommy cresta: so i said to me and my dad agreed that this series is like this is like those series when teams are like they either turn figure it out.

Ryan: I think the series is like – this is like the series that you can like – Yeah. This is the moral series.

tommy cresta: more Yeah.

Ryan: Like you got to pick it back up here.

tommy cresta: yeah Because they can go out and beat win the series against the Cubs.

Ryan: Yeah. the like They did it earlier.

tommy cresta: It shows that they are still a good team. They just go into it. early Yeah.

Ryan: They beat the Cubs earlier.

tommy cresta: The 2008 Phillies went o and thirteen at the height of the season and went in the third place in the NLEs.

Ryan: Most people don't talk about that. We talk about that. We're professionals. Elite ball knowledge.

tommy cresta: Most people don't talk about that. i was watching the whole thing, which is insane.

Ryan: which is most people are not but yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: we talk about that yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah, it happened.

Ryan: but refresh

tommy cresta: Deep ball knowledge here because we have nothing else in our lives.

Ryan: see leaveball knowledge it it's fine

tommy cresta: i don't know if it's final, but I saw on Fantasy that Nick Hessianus was not a starry.

tommy cresta: yeah

Ryan: He doesn't get rest days.

tommy cresta: Yeah, exactly. what i Wait, did they just say the S, and not say the S next to him?

Ryan: I mean, he's in the lineup as of right now. Oh God. no

tommy cresta: came up with a notification.

Ryan: of

tommy cresta: It said him and then Bryson stopped right after him.

Ryan: hammet stop don't

tommy cresta: Bryson stopped makes sense because he fucking sucks.

Ryan: so

tommy cresta: Let me double check in case they change him again.

Ryan: and me don't

tommy cresta: He doesn't suck. He's just not what people thought he was going to be.

Ryan: nice out not

tommy cresta: He's not as good as Alec Bone.

Ryan: but

tommy cresta: He doesn't have an S next to his name yet. The S doesn't always show up.

Ryan: oh

tommy cresta: But he usually does. See, the S.

Ryan: i mean

tommy cresta: All right, I just said that.

Ryan: he's in the lineup as of right now

tommy cresta: Okay. Okay. Yeah, he he doesn't miss games.

Ryan: doesn't spare me oh god

tommy cresta: Oh, God. What?

Ryan: Sosa, kemp Wilson, Rojas.

tommy cresta: Sosa, Kemp, Wilson, Rojas.

Ryan: and bet Weston, Wilson, bet Weston, bet Wilson, bet and Weston, Wilson, and Wilson, bet bet Wilson, and I

tommy cresta: Yo, Otto Kemp's in a home run tonight. Bet it. Weston Wilson going for the cycle again. No, he's not. Weston Wilson's getting DFA in a couple weeks. Yeah, they're bringing up Justin. Justin Carlisle's got to come up.

tommy cresta: don't care I'm surprised he's not up yet. Okay, he did have to go against Paul Skeans and Andrew Heaney, who have been unbelievable this season. ah First off, he almost hit a home run his second at bat.

tommy cresta: He hit a bomb down line. He's got power. And he was undrafted, which is unbelievable.

Ryan: That'd be amazing. Yeah. The Mets are pretty fucking good though.

tommy cresta: Okay, back to the ballerinas. This is what happened the episode.

Ryan: And if Juan Soto gets good, then it's going not good.

tommy cresta: think could win a game, though. That would be awesome. Or what are we, one of the last nine?

Ryan: Yeah, Clay Holmes.

tommy cresta: A few weeks ago, we were the best team in baseball.

Ryan: Yeah, he's going to get it.

tommy cresta: Now where are we? With all that being said, we're only four games back of the Mets.

Ryan: all

tommy cresta: Things can change quite quickly.

Ryan: things can continue clear that's pretty fucking good though and if ju soda

tommy cresta: Mets pretty fucking good, though. And Juan Soto gets good.

Ryan: gets good and it's going not good

tommy cresta: Yeah, but their pitching, I'm telling their pitching will fall off. Clay Holmes is a reliever.

Ryan: ah old yeah clay homemes

tommy cresta: He's going to eventually hit that innings mark.

Ryan: they's goingnna get hurt

tommy cresta: Two of their guys are former relievers. They made starters. Really?

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah, and now they're eventually going to hit that inning cap.

Ryan: yeah But then Kodai Sangha. Kodai Sangha is though was so good.

tommy cresta: He's so good. You gotta to keep McAble up.

Ryan: yeah yes yeah mur alex

tommy cresta: Yes, he's up for right now. He's up because Noel is hurt. um but Yeah, Okay, ballerina.

Ryan: Is Wheeler back from fraternity?

tommy cresta: Ballerina. Do we all agree that Ananday Armas... Would you like to see more of Ananday Armas?

Ryan: Yeah, absolutely.

tommy cresta: Yeah, absolutely. I would like to see her in her own finale.

Ryan: I would like to see her in her own finale of a movie too. And not just shove John Wick in for nothing.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I love that John Wick was in there. Just because I like seeing him.

Ryan: I liked his first scene when he talks to her in the the studio and he's like, the door is open.

tommy cresta: I liked his first scene when he talks her the studio. like, no worries, people.

Ryan: You can leave. Like, that was great.

tommy cresta: Like, that was great. I liked when they fought.

Ryan: cause that i did like I didn't.

tommy cresta: I didn't like that he kept showing up. i didn't...

Ryan: I mean, the fight scene was cool.

tommy cresta: Because I liked how much better he is and than everyone.

Ryan: Yeah. The fight scene was cool.

tommy cresta: The fight scene was cool.

Ryan: And I did like that he kicks her.

tommy cresta: I did like that he kicks her in.

Ryan: out He could have killed her five times over.

tommy cresta: He have killed her in five minutes.

Ryan: He's like, I just don't.

tommy cresta: When he snuck up on her, that was so fucking dope.

Ryan: I won't do it.

Ryan: Yeah, but he's only in the movie.

tommy cresta: But he's only in the movie.

Ryan: The first scene was good because it actually meant something.

tommy cresta: The first scene was good, because it actually meant something.

Ryan: It was kind of like, you know, the whole point of the movie was like, yeah, she got put into this life.

tommy cresta: It was kind like, you know, point of the was like, yeah, she got put into this life, but at the end of the day, she could walk out that door.

Ryan: But at the end of the day, she did. She did choose to stay into it. Yeah.

tommy cresta: My bad.

Ryan: Smack the microphone.

tommy cresta: I know, bad.

Ryan: But then the end when he comes back, he doesn't affect the movie at all.

tommy cresta: But at the end, when he comes back, he doesn't affect the movie at all.

Ryan: He's literally there just to get a cool fight scene and then nothing.

tommy cresta: He's literally there, just get a cool fight scene, and then nothing.

Ryan: Wasn't he the one who put the bullet in the new set?

tommy cresta: Wasn't the one who fucking put the bullet in the dude's head?

Ryan: No, she did.

tommy cresta: No. She shoots him. She shoots him.

Ryan: Oh, no, that's right.

tommy cresta: Oh, no, that's right. because He's just looking at the – because he's going to shoot her because it hits the midnight.

Ryan: Yeah. He was going to shoot her if it hit midnight. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, no.

tommy cresta: First off, that time was not moving correctly. That time went by way too slow or way too fast.

Ryan: that time wait to are we

tommy cresta: Either way.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: It's not accurate.

Ryan: yeah but um yeah it's not accurate

tommy cresta: Yeah, it's not accurate what the time frame was.

Ryan: in no

tommy cresta: No, I just like – I didn't like – It's 30 seconds, but she's just like outside.

Ryan: Or when she sets up the bomb on those pipes at the one point, and then it's 30 seconds, and she's just, like, outside, 100 feet away.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: It's like, no, you didn't you couldn't get that far. Might be a train killer.

tommy cresta: Might be a trained killer, but you're not Usain Bolt. I thought it was cool because I was really worried that they were going have her be able to fight John Wick.

Ryan: ah tell I was really worried that you have to be able to hug down. No, yeah.

tommy cresta: so you i was like this i was it i would That would have taken me out of it.

Ryan: I like it so much better.

tommy cresta: I like that he's just so much better.

Ryan: Yeah, no. He can he can show up.

tommy cresta: He can show up.

Ryan: He's always going to be John Wick.

tommy cresta: He's always going to be John Wick.

Ryan: Like, he was always, you know.

tommy cresta: He's the best.

Ryan: He's the best. Yeah. You'll see him.

tommy cresta: you'll see You think he's good in the first three?

Ryan: think he's doing the first three.

tommy cresta: The fourth one, he turns into a superhuman.

Ryan: Oh, this one. The fourth one. one yeah Four is genuinely nonstop.

tommy cresta: He's jamming with it nonstop.

Ryan: Like, it doesn't.

tommy cresta: it does Oh, it's two hours and 20 minutes, I think.

Ryan: Oh, it's. There's, like. No, I think it's 240.

tommy cresta: Oh, great. It's going to be long night.

Ryan: Yeah, nonstop.

tommy cresta: Yeah, it's non-stop.

Ryan: Yeah. There's, like, lines of dialogue on it.

tommy cresta: There's like three lines of dialogue.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: It's just...

Ryan: Oh no, he has the least dialogue of any of the movies in this one.

tommy cresta: He has the least dialogue in movie. Really? Yeah, he's just shooting.

Ryan: Yeah, because he's just shooting the whole time. He doesn't get time to talk. And most of his lines are just, yeah.

tommy cresta: And most of his lines are just...

Ryan: It's not just a dog.

tommy cresta: Yeah. And air flips. In the beginning of the movie, when she was still the young little girl, he was walking by and whatever the girl's name is, she's all this for a dog?

Ryan: Yeah. like young walking by whatever is the girl thing all this for

tommy cresta: He's like...

Ryan: like

tommy cresta: He's like, it's not just a dog.

Ryan: it's not just the p of the dog

tommy cresta: Not just a dog. And I love when he's He's pushes his hair back.

Ryan: yeah about

tommy cresta: He's like, okay, now I'm ready.

Ryan: now

tommy cresta: Also, when does this take place?

Ryan: But also, when does this take place? Because when he, like, the end of the movie, I know between three and four.

tommy cresta: when he like It takes place between... and know, between three and four.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yes.

Ryan: But that would mean that, just for the finale, when he's there in the end, because the beginning makes sense, because we see that whole meeting take place.

tommy cresta: But that would mean that... Wait, yeah. When he's there in the end. From the beginning, like we see that whole meeting thing. It's just happening.

Ryan: It's just happening there. Yeah. We, um, the end, if it's between three and four, that means he was in the Lawrence Fishburne and the sewers and whatever.

tommy cresta: Yeah. The end, if it's between three and four, that means he was in the... When Lawrence Fishburne was the sewers... Which is France.

Ryan: No, that was New York.

tommy cresta: No, it New York. Oh, it is New York.

Ryan: Oh, Yeah, that's still New York.

tommy cresta: He meets him, though, in France eventually, right?

Ryan: But, um.

tommy cresta: At the end.

Ryan: I think Lawrence Fishburne goes to France.

tommy cresta: Yeah, because that's when he gets the thing.

Ryan: But yeah, he's in New York, the Bowery King.

tommy cresta: But that means he was down there getting better at the fall in one building for everything.

Ryan: um But that means he was down there, you know, getting better after falling off a building and breaking everything.

tommy cresta: Yeah, you know the scene at the end of the third one?

Ryan: And he's training. When he falls off the building.

tommy cresta: Remember when he falls? off yeah And he hits ledge to ledge.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Which he really filmed.

Ryan: you so and

tommy cresta: i know softer landing spots, but he still did break a rib while filming.

Ryan: um still Oh, yeah.

tommy cresta: But that means

Ryan: But that means he was with Fishburne and then was just like, hey, can you go do this thing?

tommy cresta: not he was and then just like you

Ryan: He's like, no, I'm still'm still getting better.

tommy cresta: get better. I think he comes back.

Ryan: And then he comes back and he's just like, all right, going to sit there.

tommy cresta: but No, he got excommunicadoed.

Ryan: Yeah, in three.

tommy cresta: So how could they call him? Well, I think he still works with the Russians because he got out because they punched his ticket.

Ryan: Well, I think he still works with the Russians a little bit because he got out because they punched his ticket. they They gave him the thing.

tommy cresta: They gave him the... Yeah, he got out. No, but then when you're excommunicado, it means you're not allowed to have anything.

Ryan: No, yeah, that's true. But...

tommy cresta: Remember, you're not allowed to go in the hotels anymore.

Ryan: so yeah that's true but

tommy cresta: that's So I guess it was more like a private thing?

Ryan: likes before like i Yeah, I think it was more just like, you know, yeah, just private.

tommy cresta: I think was more just like

Ryan: But also, I was looking at the lady's hands, because remember at 3, she gets the knife through, gets the sword through her hands.

tommy cresta: but also i was looking at the's um

Ryan: She never had the scars.

tommy cresta: There's

Ryan: I didn't notice them. It was little thing. But. couple

tommy cresta: a couple little things like that.

Ryan: Yeah, but just the end.

tommy cresta: Yeah, like the fact that John Wick's all better after we see him in the beginning of the in the beginning the fourth one.

Ryan: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

tommy cresta: My man can't walk.

Ryan: Yeah, like there was definitely time between 3 and 4, but.

tommy cresta: what

Ryan: It's not now.

tommy cresta: It's not that much time, though.

Ryan: I don't think it's that much time.

tommy cresta: Because they show you him still beat up in four.

Ryan: Mm-hmm. you

tommy cresta: And then you watch him get better.

Ryan: Yeah, but it just doesn't make sense.

tommy cresta: But it just doesn't make sense.

Ryan: Like, I understand it is between three and four, like timeline.

tommy cresta: understand the game is

Ryan: You could fit this in.

tommy cresta: really big sense and he's just And he doesn't have cuts, right?

Ryan: doesn't really make sense that he's just like back to being John Wick. Yeah, no, he's totally fine.

tommy cresta: Yeah, he's totally fine.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Oh, he is?

Ryan: all

tommy cresta: so

Ryan: He's still a little banged up. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, the first C, he's, like, laying on the ground, isn't it?

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Like, covered in blood and stuff?

Ryan: I don't remember.

tommy cresta: or the first sea No, remember they show him, and he's like that he's, like, getting help, and then they cut to him, practically getting back the shape.

Ryan: There's a first scene of him punching the bag. No, I remember. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. the they pun oh yeah

tommy cresta: He's doing the...

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: at Which is bloody.

Ryan: But that was the end of the third one, is him in, like, the shopping cart, just in a ball.

tommy cresta: like the shopping cart just a fall he's like what zo there what's

Ryan: He's like, John, you still in there? He just flips him off. That's the best.

tommy cresta: I'm thinking I'm back. yeah You know, Keanu's like, dude, I can't keep doing this shit.

Ryan: Yeah. Fucking 60. No. Oh.

tommy cresta: My body.

Ryan: fucking six

tommy cresta: Anyone see the documentary that they're making of John Wick?

Ryan: no

tommy cresta: They just put out. He has literally broken both of his knees twice each while filming these movies.

Ryan: has literally roy

Ryan: his one knee doesn't work

tommy cresta: His one knee doesn't work. You know like how he hobbles?

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: That's his actual walk.

Ryan: yeah. He's the nicest, saddest guy ever.

tommy cresta: Because his knee is so beaten up.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: and his I think it's his left one.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: They said he would get kicked for like a scene and it would lock up and he wouldn't be able to move for an hour.

Ryan: he said like es steam a lockup when look at

tommy cresta: It would just be a lock like half bent.

Ryan: be a lot

tommy cresta: I didn't hear about that.

Ryan: oh

tommy cresta: He's also like the nicest guy ever.

Ryan: so like a nice this guy oh yeah

tommy cresta: He's like 60. He's 60?

Ryan: he's the nicest saddest guy ever

tommy cresta: think he's like 55. You can look it

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: you can look at up Well, yeah, would just be me and I'm looking on my computer.

Ryan: you book The picture of him on the subway is still the best.

tommy cresta: But...

Ryan: Like the actual picture of him just sitting on the subway.

tommy cresta: like yeah Just vibing.

Ryan: No, and he's standing.

tommy cresta: No, he's 60.

Ryan: The lady's like, he gave up his seat for me. He's so nice. He's like, yeah.

tommy cresta: God, him and Tom Cruise just carrying the box all right now.

Ryan: who was Tom Cruise? Yeah.

tommy cresta: Did anyone see that Tom Cruise did the fucking parachute thing 16 times?

Ryan: They sit on the fucking action seat seat. man i literally watch that in i got

tommy cresta: yep I literally just watched that thing. Yeah, he actually lit his parachute on fire, then had to deploy a safety chute, and he did 16 times.

Ryan: actually Oh, he has to. That's the only way he can die. Like, it's got to be like a wall.

tommy cresta: He put 16 times faith into that the backup chute will work.

Ryan: time fa in to

tommy cresta: You know he's dying on set.

Ryan: you know he found oh he has to

tommy cresta: oh yeah He wants to travel

Ryan: that's the only way he can die

tommy cresta: he is going to space for his next movie.

Ryan: like it's got to be like a law so

tommy cresta: They're filming in space.

Ryan: with help

tommy cresta: With the help of NASA. What movie is this?

Ryan: who is this I don't don't know.

tommy cresta: I don't know. It's some action thriller. Ana de Armas, actually.

Ryan: I thought McCreary made Top Gun.

tommy cresta: Oh, really? Yeah, it's the guy who made Top Gun.

Ryan: I could be wrong.

tommy cresta: Kaczynski.

Ryan: Kaczynski?

tommy cresta: Okay. Is it?

Ryan: The Unabomber?

tommy cresta: Or is it McQuarrie?

Ryan: Hold on. Top Gun Maverick.

tommy cresta: McQuarrie.

Ryan: ah thought mcrery

tommy cresta: thought McQuarrie made Top Gun.

Ryan: made a ah i could be wrong

tommy cresta: I be wrong. No, Kaczynski made Top Gun. Kaczynski?

Ryan: kaczynski

tommy cresta: Yeah, same guy as doing F1.

Ryan: the unabommer hello

tommy cresta: Oh, Joseph Kaczynski.

Ryan: top

tommy cresta: F1 looks we pretty good. That's one most anticipated movies.

Ryan: break

tommy cresta: They say really good. What you think about Ryan Gosling coming to Star Wars? Star Wars.

Ryan: I'm excited.

tommy cresta: I'm excited. I'm excited.

Ryan: It's not my math, but I'm laughing.

tommy cresta: not It might not ever happen. yeah

Ryan: Joseph Kaczynski.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: um go play play one

Ryan: Spelled differently by Ted than Ted Kaczynski. I'll give him that.

tommy cresta: Is that the Unabomber? Yeah.

Ryan: Is that the Unabot?

tommy cresta: Didn't know it was his last name.

Ryan: Yes. You never, you just knew Ted?

tommy cresta: No, I didn't know anything about him.

Ryan: I didn't. Ted the mailman? was a Unabot.

tommy cresta: He's a Unabomber.

Ryan: He knows me.

tommy cresta: didn't know his name. going pay attention to that.

Ryan: You don't know anything about him?

tommy cresta: Not really.

Ryan: Not really.

tommy cresta: Really?

Ryan: He's a math genius.

tommy cresta: Really?

Ryan: Yeah, that's the whole thing.

tommy cresta: i shit things mit

Ryan: He was like an MIT professor.

tommy cresta: I'm going to watch these documentaries on the Unabomber.

Ryan: He was like, technology sucks. I'm going to live in a cabin and ship bombs to people.

tommy cresta: That's um

Ryan: You ever see his gun he made?

tommy cresta: seeing the

Ryan: He made a gun. was like a single shot. It's the weird, I'll pull it up. It's pretty sick.

tommy cresta: ah So, with the ballerina, I think the upsides of this movie are the action set pieces.

Ryan: so with about obstacle part

tommy cresta: I think Ana de Armas, I think she's great.

Ryan: He just made that in his fucking cabin.

tommy cresta: Even if her accent comes and goes...

Ryan: Is that a wood? Yes. It's just wood and like hand tools.

tommy cresta: That's true. Throughout the movie. I don't know if I was the only one that noticed that.

Ryan: He just fashioned together. It's a gun.

tommy cresta: Sometimes her accent would be full on and then she would just have a full on English voice.

Ryan: What? A little bit, but didn't think it was bad. Yeah. just made that in this fucking cabin

tommy cresta: Is that wood?

Ryan: would yes

tommy cresta: Just all wood? It's just wood like hand tools.

Ryan: it's just wood and like hand tools he just fashioned together ah gun

tommy cresta: Did you notice that?

Ryan: you what

tommy cresta: What? Her accent going in and out throughout the movie. I couldn't tell if she was supposed to have an accent or not.

Ryan: a little bit but i didn't think was that

tommy cresta: Yeah, like I think it's horrible but like and I feel like any amount of accent coming through is never a good sign.

Ryan: yeah and approach again and afternoon no Yeah, a little bit.

tommy cresta: Yeah, don't

Ryan: But I mean, she's she's got a fairly thick accent, so I don't can't really blame her.

tommy cresta: i mean she Yeah.

Ryan: The craziest thing is still...

tommy cresta: I thought they were going to play into that. That was just her voice.

Ryan: Yeah. I also don't know where she grew up.

tommy cresta: I guess it could have been.

Ryan: Like, where where where the opening scene took place. It could have been in... I forget where she's from.

tommy cresta: Did not look like United States. but she was so kind of She was fantastic.

Ryan: she was No, I think it was.

tommy cresta: like yeah She got beat the fuck up making this movie.

Ryan: yeah she Yeah. No, but her and War Dogs...

tommy cresta: She is an action star. The one with Jonah Hill in The Last Hour.

Ryan: You know the movie War Dogs? The... the

tommy cresta: Yeah, I've never seen it now.

Ryan: where theyre It's good. But she's in it.

tommy cresta: But she's in it.

Ryan: She plays Miles Taylor's wife.

tommy cresta: when she got google

Ryan: When she got the role, she didn't speak any English.

tommy cresta: and like She would just learn her lines.

Ryan: And she would just learn her lines without knowing the language just repeat them.

tommy cresta: She has no idea she's saying.

Ryan: She didn't know fuck she was saying.

tommy cresta: She would be like, okay, it sounds like this.

Ryan: her performance is fantastic.

tommy cresta: I'm going to save it. And her performance is fantastic.

Ryan: Yeah, it's great. We have no idea.

tommy cresta: Would have no idea. She doesn't know a lick of English at the time. um

Ryan: Yeah, I feel like the shootouts really well done.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I feel like the ah shootouts are really well done in this. Everyone clears their rooms really well.

Ryan: The Emerald Beers are really well done.

tommy cresta: All the gun stuff is really accurate.

Ryan: It's not so good to act like

tommy cresta: The inaccurate stuff comes into place with the explosions because some of the grenades just make fireballs and grenades don't have fire at all.

Ryan: But that, some of the grenades make firewalls and grenades don't have fire at all.

tommy cresta: just bang.

Ryan: Just, BAM! It's just smoke and traffic going everywhere.

tommy cresta: It's just smoke and shrapnel going everywhere. And people don't blow up.

Ryan: And people don't blow off, though.

tommy cresta: When grenades go blow off, I'm not taking away from it.

Ryan: People don't turn to mist. It's spontaneous combustion of a human body going this way.

tommy cresta: I'm not saying that stuff doesn't happen. like not like It's not spontaneous combustion of a human body going this way.

Ryan: Things don't fly off. yeah a human body going this one

tommy cresta: Things can fly off and get blown off, but people in code don't disappear.

Ryan: fly off Yeah. total ah so you

tommy cresta: Most deaths from frags are literally just shrapnel.

Ryan: both of deaths from bragg you really just

tommy cresta: Yeah. Cutting 10.

Ryan: cuttingn

tommy cresta: Thank you.

Ryan: artery

tommy cresta: But yeah, i so I really enjoyed it still.

Ryan: yeah and so i i wouldn

tommy cresta: I would love to see, as Ryan said, I would like to see more Ana de Armas, more of the ballerina, but don't have John Wick in it.

Ryan: einstein

Ryan: but don't actually

tommy cresta: I want Norman Reedus spinoff.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: I love Norman Reedus. Yeah, it'd be cool.

Ryan: Yeah, be cool. The guy in front of us loved Norman Reedus. When he came back at the end, he was like, let's go.

tommy cresta: But he came back and was like, let's go. That dude in front of us was very heavy.

Ryan: He was having a grand old time. How about the theater in total was pretty old, wasn't it?

tommy cresta: Pretty old. pretty old Yeah, we were we were on the younger end of that.

Ryan: Yeah. Did I notice that?

tommy cresta: No, we were right.

Ryan: Yeah. There's a lot of old people in that theater.

tommy cresta: The whole row in front of us was way older were. It a packed theater.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: It was a kid next to him, like a little kid.

Ryan: Yeah. Was it? Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, a kid that should not have been at that movie at all, and her mom brought her into it.

Ryan: A that should not have been in that And her mom walked her into it. Oh, the girl?

tommy cresta: it was a girl?

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Oh. and she was like Yeah, the girl kept saying stuff to her mom.

Ryan: they hit it mo This is a princess movie.

tommy cresta: I think it was the table scene where the frag absolutely blew the dude's head off, and we were all just cracking up laughing, and she went...

Ryan: This is not the first time you've ever seen party in the air. Oh my god. What? It's not a movie. and she went

tommy cresta: Why are they laughing? Oh, really? this This is not the first time me and Ryan have been part of these moments.

Ryan: not time

tommy cresta: really We were in Joker.

Ryan: you

tommy cresta: And it's still one of the funniest theater experiences.

Ryan: oh my god

tommy cresta: Before me and we were like, we're going to kill a child in air.

Ryan: orbu yeah

tommy cresta: What?

Ryan: him as well

tommy cresta: kids got up Remember the kids were getting up and running and yelling?

Ryan: Oh, yeah. No, we saw the...

tommy cresta: I told Ryan. I leaned over. I was like, like I'm going to put my foot out and this kid's going to fall down the stairs.

Ryan: yeah Yeah, they were running down the steps. He's like, going put my foot out.

tommy cresta: And then some dude went and grabbed one of the kids.

Ryan: just gripping Yeah, they were screaming the whole movie.

tommy cresta: They were... I mean, like, yelling and...

Ryan: Like, just...

tommy cresta: hate that. That movie was great, by the way.

Ryan: It was good movie.

tommy cresta: Love there. thought were talking about the

Ryan: i thought were talking about the kids, the ah dinosaur thing we went to in New York. i was like, I'm going to kill one of those kids.

tommy cresta: was like, not sure you just get it. Oh, no. We were playing screening because it a man we got invited to.

Ryan: peace we It was probably like a birthday party in front of us.

tommy cresta: It was probably like birthday party. Yeah. It was like bunch of little, little kids.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Ryan's just like,

tommy cresta: This was before the thing started. this is like where you look at the screen where it's like, yeah.

Ryan: like we're go look at You know, the lights were on. They were just chatting.

tommy cresta: yeah Yeah.

Ryan: and like i fucking i hear that

tommy cresta: I'm never going to New York with Tom again.

Ryan: I was also so pissed off because that was the, there are no fucking lanes.

tommy cresta: was a stronger ah

Ryan: God.

tommy cresta: oh yeah i'm never going to new york with tom again

Ryan: Tommy was trying to give me directions. That shit. He's terrible.

tommy cresta: First all, that's not...

Ryan: Didn't you smoke something on the way home?

tommy cresta: Just because it was a shit move Yeah, we went to see Barbarian because you wouldn't go. cost me like $800 in repair to my car.

Ryan: yeah didn't you smoke something on the way home

tommy cresta: And... Did you smoke something the car? Tommy smoked it. Okay. You make it sound like it was my fault.

Ryan: I mean, this is not my fault.

tommy cresta: I did the...

Ryan: I was, first off, we could have a lot and we were straight on.

tommy cresta: First all, we could have lot more straight on.

Ryan: That's true.

tommy cresta: That's true. Something was in the middle of the highway.

Ryan: Something was in the middle the highway. It might have been a person.

tommy cresta: and might have been a person.

Ryan: Don't think what's the actual thing.

tommy cresta: Don't, they wasn't actually, I'm just kidding. It was something.

Ryan: It was something.

tommy cresta: If you would just let me drive my own damn car.

Ryan: If you were just let me drive around the other car.

tommy cresta: You weren't avoiding that.

Ryan: You weren't afforded now.

tommy cresta: Then it would have been at least me driving it.

Ryan: Then it would have been at least me driving and I would have fucked it up.

tommy cresta: I'm the one who fucked it up. I didn't fuck it Whoever the fuck left something on the highway.

Ryan: I didn't know. Whoever that's talking about something the highway. Your entire bumper is like something.

tommy cresta: entire bumper is what it was um like.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Out of nowhere.

Ryan: out door, and the car was just a swerving, and I believe it turned him up, and we were like, I could have swerved a little bit, you know?

tommy cresta: The car in front just swerves and and I lay turn enough that we go over like the fuck. could have swerved a little bit, you know. I did swerve a little bit, so I only hit the one side.

Ryan: I did want to look there for one side.

tommy cresta: Yeah, completely dug up whatever whatever was in the well, and any plastic underneath my engine was just completely torn Now, if things have went straight over, would it would have just ripped everything out.

Ryan: Yeah, it was like, we could have out whatever, whatever was in the well, and any plastic underneath my engine was just completely torn to shreds. Yeah, was like straight over, you would have just ripped it. Everything.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: My transmission's like that two miles drag.

Ryan: My transmission was two miles you and behind.

tommy cresta: Dragging behind.

Ryan: But, when we went to Joker, when Snake kills the person, don't

tommy cresta: But when we went to see Joker, you know the scene when he kills the person in front of the smaller guy?

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: So, there this is old couple in front of us, and me, Matt, and Ryan are out loud laughing.

Ryan: So this whole couple fun and me, Zach and Ryan, it's like out loud laughing. Yeah. And the people are like, like, I don't know if people are going to be a great fun kid.

tommy cresta: And the people are really like...

tommy cresta: And we're just sitting there giggling. I was like, oh, we are so fucked up.

Ryan: I mean, like, when I've been with guys and like, should have rubbed in like, unexpected way.

tommy cresta: I mean, like, when anyone dies in, like, just an abrupt and, like, unexpected way. There's a little laugh to it Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Or, like, when it's so fucked up, they're like, oh!

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Me and Ryan, were watching Bring Her Back.

Ryan: ro

tommy cresta: Really, like, oh, Jesus.

Ryan: really like Dude, I

tommy cresta: And then Ryan called me a coward.

Ryan: my self is power

tommy cresta: Because I left the second time.

Ryan: i like

tommy cresta: I wouldn't watch it again.

Ryan: with

tommy cresta: Why? Because when you watch, you'll see.

Ryan: bought watch it very dude i was cutting something the other day and I cut, it was something, i forget what it was, it was like a piece of cake or something.

tommy cresta: Alright, watch it the time with me. Dude, that was fun. Just think about it. It was something. was a piece of cake or something.

Ryan: And I cut it and i was gonna lick a little bit of the icing off the knife and I brought it up and I was like, no, no, I'm not doing it.

tommy cresta: I cut it. was going to look at the ice. I brought it up and you were like, no.

Ryan: No.

tommy cresta: so ah It's going to stick.

Ryan: It's so bad.

tommy cresta: away Me and Ryan were laying in the car just randomly driving back from the movie.

Ryan: It looks so much better. It's good movie. It's a really good movie.

tommy cresta: We're just like, oh. That's how it was with Terrifier.

Ryan: Ballerina.

tommy cresta: It's so much worse than Terrifier.

Ryan: it's it's so bad because it's so

tommy cresta: Because it's so much more realistic looking.

Ryan: looks so much better

tommy cresta: At least Terrifier, you're like, oh it's a fake body.

Ryan: step

tommy cresta: Yeah, maybe I don't want to see it.

Ryan: yeah yeah it back

tommy cresta: And this is a 10-year-old kid.

tommy cresta: Maybe I don't.

Ryan: maybe at good movie really good news

tommy cresta: It is really good. um But much better than this movie.

Ryan: valerie

tommy cresta: But I don't want to take too much healing.

Ryan: but if i say much.

tommy cresta: I'd say better.

Ryan: I'd say, yeah, better, but it's tough to compare a horror movie and

tommy cresta: I'd say better. I mean... the only Yeah, I more mean in just like... if we're looking at pure filmmaking. But that's again hard to do with action because action movies are a lot more.

Ryan: yeah Yeah, there weren't many explosions in Talk To Me.

tommy cresta: Yeah, there weren't many explosions.

Ryan: Or Bring Her Back.

tommy cresta: Or Break Her Back. Yeah. talk to It was just one house.

Ryan: It was just one house. Yeah, it is.

tommy cresta: But it's so pretty. It's such a great movie.

Ryan: then might Yeah, I Me.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I guess I enjoyed Talk To Me, Bring Her Back a lot more than I enjoyed Valerie.

Ryan: Bring Her Back a lot. All right.

tommy cresta: I think I just would watch it again.

Ryan: like i Okay.

tommy cresta: Well, that's because you're surprised.

Ryan: Surprising.

tommy cresta: Like, a horror fan.

Ryan: don't like the end?

tommy cresta: Yeah, super big horror guy.

Ryan: Just like 50 feet away.

tommy cresta: What?

Ryan: I guess he saw that in the building.

tommy cresta: I watched a horror movie all the Oh, I watched Creep finally. Overrated as fuck.

Ryan: The what? I watched a bit of it.

tommy cresta: Not scary. like the

Ryan: Really? Yeah. like fifty feet away

tommy cresta: And then the jump scare.

Ryan: in the

tommy cresta: I'm guessing you saw that in a Kill video.

Ryan: and guess he's on no

tommy cresta: There's no way you watched Creep.

Ryan: i watched a bit of it

tommy cresta: i watch Really?

Ryan: really yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Because I watched the killer video and I was like, this seems interesting.

tommy cresta: I watched a video was like, this seems

Ryan: I'll check it out.

tommy cresta: It's just a weird movie.

Ryan: just Yeah, I mean, that's kind of the point.

tommy cresta: Yeah, that's kind of the point.

Ryan: It's not...

tommy cresta: You to start watching more horror movies.

Ryan: and see wasn unfair

tommy cresta: He's watched a shit ton of horror movies now.

Ryan: I've watched lot of horror movies.

tommy cresta: You need watch more.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: You didn't watch Jojima Haunted Asylum.

Ryan: That show was scary, man. And then we told...

tommy cresta: I wanted to, and then you cut it off so early. Yeah, because we both were like, that we're not. Oh, because we ended watching Skinner. Oh, yeah. That movie's so good. Oh, my God.

Ryan: scariest movie.

tommy cresta: That still is up there. It's like one of the scariest things I've ever watched.

Ryan: Well, they're like, for certain...

tommy cresta: It's so I'm so happy. It's only a certain audience of people who find that stuff scary.

Ryan: or Remember when we watched Heck? The YouTube one?

tommy cresta: The YouTube one.

Ryan: so like The first one we made?

tommy cresta: Oh, the one that created it.

Ryan: That one was almost worse.

tommy cresta: Remember we watched the short film version of it?

Ryan: Yeah, that one was really sad.

tommy cresta: The one time where we got you to stay up to like 1.30, we watched like 15 horror short films.

Ryan: Yeah. That's fine, though. He was having fun.

tommy cresta: That one was so sad.

Ryan: Yeah. I swear. Yeah. that one's really sad

tommy cresta: and they just went off the rails at one point.

Ryan: and then the that's fine though he's having fun

tommy cresta: I forgot how sad that was. du the Is it because I have cancer, Mom?

Ryan: yeah da oh

tommy cresta: No, no, dude. I swear. The bedroom scene really good in that version, though.

Ryan: they

tommy cresta: The with the dude in the box.

Ryan: Yeah, there are great ones.

tommy cresta: Oh, it's Man in the Box. Man in the Box.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: It's good song, too.

Ryan: Your pocket.

tommy cresta: That is... It's so... It is a really great song. Alice in Chains. But that's a thing we should do.

Ryan: that's a bad

tommy cresta: Rank, like...

Ryan: frankly

tommy cresta: Do, like, a thing of like, our favorite horror shorts.

Ryan: like

tommy cresta: Because there are some really great ones.

Ryan: dar yeah's are great one

tommy cresta: Like, that one with the There are some terrible ones out there.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: ah But, yeah, Ryan, where's my phone?

Ryan: yeah

Ryan: pocket

tommy cresta: Fucking... was I didn't bring it inside.

Ryan: How'd you lose your phone? What? Yeah. What notes? Oh.

tommy cresta: Fucker.

tommy cresta: Ryan, you have the notes up.

Ryan: I don't open the fucking thing.

tommy cresta: Yeah. get them Get the notes out.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: We got to put down our scores for Ballerina.

Ryan: the what notes the notes that didn't come

tommy cresta: The notes that say the films we watch every year that you have me send you for a final episode.

Ryan: the right oh um

tommy cresta: Almost 200 episodes in. Jesus Christ.

Ryan: i don't open the fucking thing

tommy cresta: I think it's the first time Ryan's ever had to open on the podcast. Really? Yeah.

tommy cresta: We're at 19. I'm 19 movies this year already. That's pretty good. Pretty good.

Ryan: oh I watched the account.

tommy cresta: I watched The Accountant 2 yesterday.

Ryan: Did you?

tommy cresta: Did you? I really liked it.

Ryan: don't think have it.

tommy cresta: I think it's way better than the first one. Because more of a story.

Ryan: up scores. It's pretty good.

tommy cresta: and didn't watch the second one yet.

Ryan: Way too young to watch that.

tommy cresta: Is it on Netflix right now? It's on Amazon for free.

Ryan: It's a really depressing movie.

tommy cresta: Amazon. I watched for the time.

Ryan: It's very sad. and bur

tommy cresta: You don't have it? Unbroken.

Ryan: um looking up

tommy cresta: Is that when he holds the thing up? The World War II movie where there's...

Ryan: scores we were

tommy cresta: that in theaters. Really? Yeah. It's pretty good.

Ryan: pretty good

tommy cresta: I way too young to watch that in a theater.

Ryan: way too younger watch

tommy cresta: It's a really depressing movie.

Ryan: really root

tommy cresta: It's just very sad.

Ryan: very And

tommy cresta: and anything that can go wrong in that movie goes wrong. Thinks he's getting rescued. Japanese warboat. Yeah. No, it was a plane. was It wasn't a boat.

Ryan: Was it a boat?

tommy cresta: No, I thought it's a boat that pulls up next to him.

Ryan: No, I thought it was a boat.

tommy cresta: It's a plane?

Ryan: It's a plane?

tommy cresta: It's a plane. That's so much more.

Ryan: That's so weird.

tommy cresta: It pokes holes all through the two rafts, and they have to patch it up, and jump back in the water when it makes the second round, and then, um...

Ryan: hold All through the two revs, they have to patch it roll over when it makes the second round, and then, yeah, and then...

tommy cresta: Yeah, and then aren't they floating, and the boat to them, and that's what they have to get on?

Ryan: different and they think of i pi code yes yes Yeah, no, I certainly don't have that shit.

tommy cresta: think eventually a boat's showing get someone. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Yeah, because get shot at.

Ryan: I don't know.

tommy cresta: And then they're like, oh, we made it.

Ryan: All right, and talk, go.

tommy cresta: The U.S. is here. Japanese warship picks them up, goes to an and an encampment.

Ryan: No, I- to um

tommy cresta: That movie's so good, though. Yeah, saw it.

Ryan: yeah know i certainly don't have that shit

tommy cresta: How do you not? I've shared it with you late every year.

Ryan: i don't know fine oh

tommy cresta: It's fine. Don't worry about it. All right, we'll Yeah.

Ryan: all and talk go

tommy cresta: um

Ryan: i

tommy cresta: I'm going to give it a 79. I think it's right below the 80 mark. That's going to give it.

Ryan: why i' bri

tommy cresta: Ryan, what would you give? Oh, wow.

Ryan: work

tommy cresta: The look I just got.

Ryan: how i going

tommy cresta: What would you give it?

Ryan: Yeah, give it a flat 80. Okay.

tommy cresta: Okay. Dude, how are you going to give me that look?

Ryan: Yeah. Oh, my God.

tommy cresta: You go one point above me. Oh, my God.

Ryan: so Yeah, no, think it's still little better.

tommy cresta: Yeah, because I feel like John Wick 2. two No, 3 is my least favorite John Wick. 3 is probably like an 83. So I think this is – I think there's still a whole letter grade difference between these.

tommy cresta: You probably gave it like a 95.

Ryan: probably gave it like 95.

tommy cresta: Four? I think I gave it like 90.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Oh, okay. So it's not good.

Ryan: It's pretty fucking good.

tommy cresta: I mean, it's four at 90 and then probably 87 for the first one.

Ryan: we the

tommy cresta: 86 for the second one and then 84 for the second one. I like the first three, so. Yeah, I just think the third one, at times it feels longer.

Ryan: yeah

Ryan: you

tommy cresta: Which none of them have ever felt long to me except the third one.

Ryan: no

tommy cresta: I do love the third one, though.

Ryan: I do love the third one though, it just gets right into the action. Like, the first 30 minutes is just non-stop, the fucking, the motorcycles chasing.

tommy cresta: Oh, the first scene, yeah. The first 30 minutes is just non-stop. The motor cycles chasing.

Ryan: Have you ever seen that edit with the lightsabers?

tommy cresta: Have you ever seen that edit hit with the lightsabers? No.

Ryan: No. People put on, oh my god, it's one of the coolest edits.

tommy cresta: I've seen a lot of lightsaber edits. No, you know when the guys are on the bikes with them? The motorcycle's chasing them?

Ryan: And they pull out swords.

tommy cresta: Yeah, they put they make them lightsabers. Yeah, really?

Ryan: It's so sick. It's the same scene, but it's so fucking cool.

tommy cresta: It's It's just cool because it's lightsabers. need to see that. Yeah, I'm trying to think of what else we can add about...

Ryan: having

tommy cresta: Oh, whatever.

Ryan: whatever

tommy cresta: The director's name again. Isn't it Len?

Ryan: Oh yeah, it was Len.

tommy cresta: Oh, he is. Yeah, Len Weisinger. I will give him a lot of credit. That... This was a tall order, especially seeing what happens when they did do a different director for the Continental.

Ryan: This was

tommy cresta: That wasn't Chad Stahelski. And everyone was like, there's no way you can make this film without that. And he did it as, I think this is the best.

Ryan: And he did it. i think this is the best.

tommy cresta: This is the best version of this movie there is.

Ryan: This the best version in this movie. Like, I don't think they're version better than this.

tommy cresta: Like, i don't think there's a version better than this.

Ryan: No, yeah, I think they did really, really well.

tommy cresta: No, yeah. Yeah, and so I feel like he I want him to get to direct more them.

Ryan: I want to see him name

tommy cresta: And I'd love to see him maybe if Chad, because I know he doesn't really want to keep working on the franchise, unless he does the next John Wick, which is the only way he said he'd come back to the franchise, then I think this guy should be in charge of it.

Ryan: ah i

Ryan: only franchise. I think this guy should be part of it.

tommy cresta: He has the coloring down because it has that blue color grade to it.

Ryan: He has now that he has that.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. So I feel like he's doing great.

Ryan: yeah I mean, like I said, it nails the style of John Wick perfectly.

tommy cresta: I mean, like I said, it nails the style John Wick perfectly.

Ryan: Like, there was never a point where I'm like, this isn't really the same action.

tommy cresta: Like there was never a point I'm like, this isn't really the same action, this isn't the same style.

Ryan: This isn't the same style.

tommy cresta: It always felt like John

Ryan: It always felt like John Wick.

tommy cresta: The Continental looked great.

Ryan: The Continental looked great. Like, everything everything about it felt like John Wick.

tommy cresta: like everything Everything about it felt like John Wick. But I just think the execution wasn't exactly there.

Ryan: But I just think the execution wasn't exactly there. And losing, you know, it's not Chad Stahelski.

tommy cresta: Losing, you it's not Chad.

Ryan: Like, it's just not the guy.

tommy cresta: It's just not the guy.

Ryan: So.

tommy cresta: Yeah, and I mean, it was really nice to see Lance Reddick again one last time for his last role.

Ryan: Yeah. yeah

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Do you think that he was like old footage?

Ryan: Do you think they use, like, old footage?

tommy cresta: No, remember this film before he died.

Ryan: No, no. ah we Did it?

tommy cresta: Yeah, this got delayed for two years.

Ryan: Yeah. oh

tommy cresta: When did he die?

Ryan: Oh, I didn't know that.

tommy cresta: He died right before the fourth came out.

Ryan: Right before 4 came out. Yeah. My dad loves John Wick.

tommy cresta: So almost two years ago. That one was...

Ryan: I think I saw it twice.

tommy cresta: I forgot your dad went saw that with us.

Ryan: Yeah. my dad loves john wi yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah, we went and saw it.

Ryan: oh

tommy cresta: We got an early pass for the 4th.

Ryan: got

tommy cresta: So we went and saw it like an early viewing in IMAX. That's cool. yeah I think ended up going to see it.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: We saw it again.

Ryan: yeah i think i saw it twice

tommy cresta: Yeah. yeah You know what movie I've seen a lot?

Ryan: yo lot it's fighting you get

tommy cresta: it's the movie i've seen the most in theaters in the last in the 20 since the 20 20s it's the fall guy i think i saw it five times i really loved that movie i watched it again yesterday it's a good movie the scene when he goes uh oh my god fucking who's the actor that retired always did went full on to his roles gangs in new york

Ryan: since 2020. It's probably called that movie. I really love that I watched it again yesterday. It's a good movie. The scene where he goes, oh my god, fucking who's the actor that retired? Always did when full on gang to New York.

Ryan: Oh, Daniel Day-Lewis.

tommy cresta: oh Oh, Daniel Day. The best movie is like, Daniel Day Lewis!

Ryan: Daniel Day-Lewis!

tommy cresta: And he throws the tomahawk at the guy. That was just, again, a movie.

Ryan: That was, again, a movie.

tommy cresta: That was another movie that you didn't think you were going like.

Ryan: That was funny. Yeah, I think you liked it a lot more than I did.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I think he played a lot. Yeah, I loved it because I i love just loved the stunt stuff.

Ryan: But, yeah. It was fun.

tommy cresta: i hate her beginning yeah

Ryan: Yeah, a lot of times, yeah.

tommy cresta: He apologized on the podcast to the Elvis movie.

Ryan: yeah is me I did.

tommy cresta: I did.

Ryan: you It's going to be dog shit.

tommy cresta: don't see mean...

Ryan: and I was half fucking with Tommy because Tommy loves Elvis.

tommy cresta: And I'm not even the biggest... Yeah, it's Elvis.

Ryan: And I was like, Beatles are better.

tommy cresta: i't and i'm not even

Ryan: Shut up, bitch.

tommy cresta: the biggest user are better than yeah

Ryan: Yes, than Elvis.

tommy cresta: Beatles are better than Elvis.

Ryan: Yeah. yeah

tommy cresta: I listen to a lot of Elvis, but I don't listen to a lot of Beatles. Beatles, was the same way.

Ryan: i might might

tommy cresta: Ryan came back us. The Beatles are unbelievable.

Ryan: ah be

tommy cresta: They're still the greatest.

Ryan: It's pretty.

tommy cresta: Because they changed. Without the Beatles, I was doing like a whole like they deep dive into like music timelines.

Ryan: Without the Beatles, was like a whole thing down to like music timeline. Without the Beatles, there's no grunge ever.

tommy cresta: Without the Beatles, there's no grunge era. Because they slowly, they're tuned.

Ryan: They slowly, oh, they're just a matter of time. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Because they changed the way music could be.

Ryan: And they make these crazy sad tracks with a super monotone basis and stuff, which is exactly what grunge eventually turns into.

tommy cresta: And they make these crazy sad tracks with these super monotone basses and stuff. Which is exactly what grunge eventually turns

Ryan: Yeah. Grunge is huge from old school, um, fuck the...

tommy cresta: Grunge is huge from old school. um Fuck. them Not jazz.

Ryan: not jazz blues yeah blues that was one main grunge any better stuff at all but yeah Beatles are a home movie I think they're better never thought I'd hear this word coming out my film is huge Elvis family and I definitely style with Beatles especially with the documentary Beatles great you gotta finish that I know I think it's so it's a lot

tommy cresta: Yeah, like blues music. all that That was what made grunge. and Eddie Vedder talked about all that. But yeah, Beatles are unbelievable. I think they're better than Elvis. Never thought I'd hear hear those words from me. My family is a huge Elvis family. yeah And I've definitely sided with the Beatles.

tommy cresta: Especially with the documentary and everything like that. yeah yeah and now I know. I think have one episode left. But... Who stopped on the last episode? i Dude, I do it all the time.

Ryan: know Well, it's like three movies.

tommy cresta: yeah and Literally, they're all like an hour and a half.

Ryan: It's it's not episodes.

tommy cresta: Okay.

Ryan: Yeah. You got it.

tommy cresta: all yeah I want to watch that.

Ryan: When you watch it, let me know because I want to watch the rooftop scene. I want to watch that film.

tommy cresta: That's what I want to get to.

Ryan: It's the best. 82.

tommy cresta: But is there anything...

Ryan: All right. Nice.

tommy cresta: I guess what? It's you, Connor. Connor, would you give the movie? I guess you'll ask me.

Ryan: yes

tommy cresta: That's kind a great movie. Well, because when I do the app, there's i only have to way but two of us.

Ryan: like

tommy cresta: Probably like...

Ryan: probably like

tommy cresta: 82. 82.

Ryan: eighty two hu

tommy cresta: Nice.

Ryan: nice

tommy cresta: I will say Connor is a true like film enjoyer.

Ryan: I was a true film enjoyer. Oh, yeah.

tommy cresta: like He does not hate on movies unless they are genuinely mega-hopalous.

Ryan: I need to laugh he on me on movies unless they're genuinely bad. Yeah. I'm not going to work straight.

tommy cresta: Unless it's mega-hopalous. Or trade.

Ryan: Why'd you do that?

tommy cresta: Why'd you do that?

Ryan: Kyle Tucker home run.

tommy cresta: He's on my fantasy team.

Ryan: He's on my face. He is. I tried to trade for him last night, but I... really?

tommy cresta: Oh, really? I didn't even look at it.

Ryan: I need look at him.

tommy cresta: No, I was looking at the trade.

Ryan: No, I was looking at a trade, and I'm like...

tommy cresta: Do you want to hear of the trade you offered me the other

Ryan: we need to?

tommy cresta: what Straight up, Bryce Harper.

Ryan: straight off See what I'm saying?

tommy cresta: Show hate for Bryce Harper.

Ryan: That's not awful.

tommy cresta: i was like, there's not a fucking chance I'm making that trade.

Ryan: Well, yeah, but Gunnar Henderson's good.

tommy cresta: I can put him in a pitch, and then I can sub him out make him a hitter.

Ryan: the ladies spoken around did come andie cool

tommy cresta: Tommy Edmond and Tariq Skubal for Fromber Valdez and Gunnar Henderson.

Ryan: ummer bald and actually

tommy cresta: That's actually not as bad. That's not as bad.

Ryan: assume i'm saying

tommy cresta: It's not as bad, but...

Ryan: that's not all polite

tommy cresta: But it's Tariq Skubal, who's the best pitcher in baseball.

Ryan: school like yeah but gunnner henderson' is good

tommy cresta: Hey!

Ryan: He's heating up. He's heating up.

tommy cresta: Yeah, but he's not...

Ryan: yeah we can He started off slow.

tommy cresta: equivalent to as a shortstop to Tariq Scubalista's pitchers.

Ryan: Tommy Edmond is pretty good. I love Tommy Edmond.

tommy cresta: And Tommy Edmond's pretty good as long as he's not. I love Tommy Edmond.

Ryan: Yeah, but he gets hurt. I think, you know, you could get rid of him.

tommy cresta: My question to is... But then he would only be getting one player if he gets rid of Tommy Edmond because you have to think on a long-term effect.

Ryan: No, but I'm saying give me Tommy Edmond because I want Tommy Edmond.

tommy cresta: always trade. Give me Tommy. Because want Tommy Edmond. See, whenever someone makes me a trade, I always ask them the question, why do you want this trade to go through?

Ryan: See, whenever someone makes me a trade, I only ask you questions. Because he plays three positions and I can use that.

tommy cresta: and it's... Exactly.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: know. Louisa Ryes is the best. i but of a DH, first base, second base.

Ryan: first

tommy cresta: When Tommy Edmonds was healthy, he's played, like I think it's like, what did he do?

Ryan: healthiest

tommy cresta: Second, third.

Ryan: please have on

tommy cresta: No, he did second outfield and shortstop.

Ryan: just stepping out human treea yeah

tommy cresta: Wow. Is there anything else you want to add to the ballerina?

Ryan: there any empower um I think it was good.

tommy cresta: was like Yeah, what's your final call? I think it was very good.

Ryan: i think it was very good. I really liked it.

tommy cresta: I really like it. It's not as realistic as Groundwick, which is crazy.

Ryan: It's not as realistic as John Wick, which is crazy because John Wick is not the most.

tommy cresta: Groundwick is not realistic. You're using it back to the block.

Ryan: When you're using your jacket to block bullets, it kind of is.

tommy cresta: There was a few scenes.

Ryan: But, yeah.

tommy cresta: That was his biggest pet peeve of the fourth one.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: The jacket.

Ryan: It goes wild.

tommy cresta: It does go, it's so useless.

Ryan: But it also, no, the thing was, like, everybody has the jacket.

tommy cresta: I think it was like, everybody has jacket. So there's a lot of just like, guys running around.

Ryan: So there's a lot of just, like, guys running around going like this the whole time.

tommy cresta: They're like, me to you, shooting each other like, It's pretty fucking cool.

Ryan: It's like, all right. It'll be like 10 minutes of just this. It's like, all right. the can It gets it kind of old. It's cool as shit, but it gets kind of old when it's two hours of this.

tommy cresta: It's cool to shoot, but it's kind only like, a minute.

Ryan: they're Fighting like wizards.

tommy cresta: No one really has it though in the step scene except him.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Because they start going down.

Ryan: Yeah, no. ah in sp

tommy cresta: Oh, it's a spin-off of a character you're going meet in the fourth episode.

Ryan: Is that still happening?

tommy cresta: Yeah, he's directing it.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Donnie Yen.

Ryan: Oh, Donnie.

tommy cresta: Oh, Donnie Yen.

Ryan: Oh, I thought there was one of the...

tommy cresta: Oh, thought there was one of those.

Ryan: thought so.

tommy cresta: The girl's also the one.

Ryan: He...

tommy cresta: Oh, he's the one too.

Ryan: ah you can yeah i thought so he

tommy cresta: Yeah, that's They're expanding this universe.

Ryan: Yeah, I was thinking, instead of John Wick in in the end of this, just send him in.

tommy cresta: He's a great character.

Ryan: If it was that guy, that would been pretty cool.

tommy cresta: who Yeah.

Ryan: Even though he's not as, he doesn't have the connection to the Russians or anything.

tommy cresta: though Yeah. Yeah.

Ryan: He's not yeah as experienced.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I guess that's why they used John Wick. Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah, but like, some people yeah, and also put him in the trailers and make $100 million dollars more.

tommy cresta: I feel like they just threw him in because some people were expecting to see John Wick. Yeah.

tommy cresta: yeah um What do we was the budget for this

Ryan: It was to 90.

tommy cresta: It was $9,800.

Ryan: eighty ninety And I looked up the John Wick budgets.

tommy cresta: I love the economic budget.

Ryan: It was the first one was 20, 30.

tommy cresta: The first one was $20,30. The second was $40,000.

Ryan: Second was 40.

tommy cresta: The third was $75,000.

Ryan: Third was 75.

tommy cresta: The fourth was $100,000.

Ryan: Fourth was 100.

tommy cresta: Oh, it did not debut very well. Really?

Ryan: Really? Yeah.

tommy cresta: It said it's fail it's falling short at the box office.

Ryan: That's not good. That's a lot of money, but it probably costs.

tommy cresta: I guess they expect to make a lot more.

Ryan: Yeah. who

tommy cresta: Lilo and Stitch just neared $800 million.

Ryan: hundred million

tommy cresta: Final Reckoning at $450 million.

Ryan: that's not good

tommy cresta: i mean, that's a lot of money.

Ryan: it's a lot of money but it probably costs lot

tommy cresta: That's a lot of money. But the budget was, I think the budget was $400 million.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: ah John Wick debuts at $25.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. Cool. Mm-hmm.

tommy cresta: I guess they were expecting a bigger number.

Ryan: Mm-hmm.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: mean, when you spend that much money on a movie, you know what expect more.

Ryan: when you spend no and more they count to

tommy cresta: The account too made $110 on a $70, which isn't a lot, but they said they that was like they were expecting less.

Ryan: yeah ah better sound which isn a lot

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: yeah it's not awful yeah

tommy cresta: They make a third one. I'm very excited. Yeah.

Ryan: ah

tommy cresta: But yeah, I'm going kind of side with Ryan on this.

Ryan: yeah and time right

tommy cresta: I think ballerines are really enjoyable time.

Ryan: think that lead's really

tommy cresta: If you like this franchise, you're going to like the ballerina movie.

Ryan: like um

tommy cresta: There's parts that aren't as realistic like Ryan said.

Ryan: there's par

Ryan: As you look at the mindset, but all I'm like, still, maybe in this universe, it feels like a universe.

tommy cresta: But all in all, it's still a movie in this universe. It feels like the universe.

Ryan: There's some awesome fight sequences.

tommy cresta: There's some awesome fight sequences. I really love the fire and water scene with the fire hose.

Ryan: I really love the fire and the water's... Yeah, I like that. That was cool.

tommy cresta: I thought that was super cool.

Ryan: I thought that was super cool.

tommy cresta: It was so different from anything else I going to see.

Ryan: It was so good for me to be able to get some more direction in this world and more bonding on this as well.

tommy cresta: But yeah, I think it's good, and I hope that we get more from this director in this world and more of Ande Armas in this world. um

Ryan: Connor, give me last thought about it, and I'll let know then.

tommy cresta: Kyra, do you have any last thoughts on Ballerina? I'll let you jump in. um

Ryan: Um...

tommy cresta: You said you liked the fire water scene.

Ryan: be like

tommy cresta: yeah It was cool, but I feel like there was way too much flamethrower.

Ryan: cool but i feel like therere

tommy cresta: like i Oh, like the whole scene.

Ryan: oh god but mos and she wild the truck that felt

tommy cresta: She pulled out the flamethrower, and it felt like 10 minutes.

Ryan: and

tommy cresta: It was just flamethrower fights back and forth.

Ryan: yeah um yeah it's kind of like it gets to a point where it's like all right she's fired yeah that's cool the range of the flamethrower got longer and longer yeah to push out like <unk>op and get oh i but now but um

tommy cresta: um Yeah, but it's flamethrower. Yeah, it's cool, but like... it gets to a point where she's like, all right, shoots fire. Yeah, but that's so cool. And somehow, magically, every scene, the range of the flamethrower got longer and longer.

tommy cresta: Well, yeah, a flamethrower can push out, like, hundred minutes. they can push out, but, like, there'll be scenes where it's like, oh, shoot, can't get him, 20 feet away. oh Let me just nail this motherfucker 40 feet away now.

tommy cresta: But, um... go funnel like

Ryan: It also felt like video game flamethrowers where it touches the guy and he's dead immediately.

tommy cresta: one Yeah, exactly.

Ryan: like They don't get time.

tommy cresta: Yeah, but that's why like certain times she would like light this them back on fire.

Ryan: yeah. like oh Yeah, not yet.

tommy cresta: Then there was times where it like hit the once they and they'd they're not dying.

Ryan: Yeah. Great popcorn movie. the guy

tommy cresta: They're gonna be a lot of pain.

Ryan: yeah not yet me a lot of

tommy cresta: I love that the wonder she just kept lighting them on fire.

Ryan: best by light

tommy cresta: She was like, murder!

Ryan: but yeah

tommy cresta: But yeah, it's fun movie.

Ryan: um yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah. It's good.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Good popcorn movie.

Ryan: part

tommy cresta: which the

Ryan: scrap up our movie

tommy cresta: We fucking killed the popcorn. It was gone.

Ryan: I didn't even touch it. Dude, three-quarters, three-quarters.

tommy cresta: Dude, it was gone. He is crazy. Brother, every five minutes I put my hand in and this moment would be like, oh, I'm sorry.

Ryan: Brother, everything has to be locked in. I'm sorry. No, no, I don't think I have to do that.

tommy cresta: no i no I would take mine out and go back.

Ryan: Just watch the audio spike.

tommy cresta: Oh, I'm sorry. and then and then it was like probably like three quarters full.

Ryan: And then it was probably three-quarters full. And I'm like, all right, let let it think happens, right?

tommy cresta: And like, all right, let me have let me let it hand happen it for a bit. I started.

Ryan: I start. And 15 minutes, I'm touching the bottom.

tommy cresta: 10, 15, maybe 20 minutes later. I'm touching the bottom of the thing.

Ryan: Dang.

tommy cresta: Like, where did it all about work up?

Ryan: We're going to go about.

tommy cresta: I kept grabbing my hand.

Ryan: It's

tommy cresta: It was creeping me out. Dude, at one point I just held my hand there waiting for you to take it out.

Ryan: healthy.

tommy cresta: Okay. And you look over and be like,

Ryan: It's a healthy snack.

tommy cresta: this

Ryan: Whole green.

tommy cresta: fuck you.

Ryan: The butter and salt, not so much, but popcorn itself.

tommy cresta: I don't put extra butter on that.

Ryan: <unk>

tommy cresta: I like when there's no butter.

Ryan: Just plain popcorn.

tommy cresta: Ew. Yeah, it's the best.

Ryan: It's healthy.

tommy cresta: It's much better for you.

Ryan: It's good for you.

tommy cresta: It has a lot of fiber.

Ryan: Good poops.

tommy cresta: It's better for you, but not better.

Ryan: no ah poops

tommy cresta: I don't ever put butter on it.

Ryan: ever

tommy cresta: so It's only because it has butter.

Ryan: it's so so much work

tommy cresta: It's so much worse. It gets all in your fingers.

Ryan: seen Why do you have napkins?

tommy cresta: Yeah, but I got carried.

Ryan: Oh,

tommy cresta: always always accept like Always use that straw trick where you pour the butter down straw get the straw.

Ryan: oh yeah. You put the straw halfway down for the middle, all the way down.

tommy cresta: You want to talk about the popcorn me and him had to bring her back?

Ryan: Boom. yeah Yeah. Oh, that was delicious popcorn.

tommy cresta: It was the best popcorn I've had in years.

Ryan: It was phenomenal popcorn.

tommy cresta: Really? Because the time before we saw bringer, I ate like three pieces of popcorn.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. a

tommy cresta: My popcorn was terrible. And then we went back. Me and Ryan were literally sitting there like,

Ryan: arrival related

tommy cresta: just mung in through

Ryan: Oh, you're at the smart food movie theater popcorn.

tommy cresta: whatever seasoning they use is really good now I'm we might to go giant get chicken bump it's like the 90 calorie for like four cups of it dude you can eat the whole bag it's like a hundred and something calories where would I go get movie theater I think you meant like go drive to the movies

Ryan: Yeah. i

Ryan: like but oh work nay the whole

Ryan: there's like

tommy cresta: oh i think he meant like go drive to the movie' but

Ryan: It's the best. It's so good.

tommy cresta: thank you

Ryan: We're all just eating.

tommy cresta: We're all just fiending for popcorn.

Ryan: We're just running straight to Giant.

tommy cresta: I'm going to get popcorn now.

Ryan: Yeah. yeah

tommy cresta: ah But, yeah, ah that's all I really have about Ballerina.

Ryan: yeah i

tommy cresta: But before we leave, like every episode, Ryan, what are you going to recommend everyone to watch this week?

Ryan: ryan what evening I'm going recommend Tires season two because it's very funny.

tommy cresta: I would recommend Tires. Oh, you watched it?

Ryan: I haven't finished it yet.

tommy cresta: I'm not going to it.

Ryan: I'm almost done.

tommy cresta: I'm on the top. But if you like the first season, it's just that again, but 12 of us.

Ryan: But if you like the first season, it's just that again, but 12 episodes instead of six.

tommy cresta: That was the sixth.

Ryan: So it's pretty good.

tommy cresta: Oh, it's 12? Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah, they got 12 this time.

tommy cresta: Oh, shit.

Ryan: And so many cameos, like a bunch of mostly comedians, but there's some big actors in it.

tommy cresta: And so many cameos. Like, a bunch of mostly comedians, but there's some big actors in it, and I'm like, how fuck did they get that?

Ryan: And I'm like, how fuck did they get that guy? I'm like,

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah. So very funny, but it was also funny.

tommy cresta: So, very funny. But it was also funny.

Ryan: Yeah. I watched it last night and there's a part, the, ah this guy, don't know, Russian, Eastern European guy comes in.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I watched it last night, and there's a part, yeah this guy, don't know, Russian, Eastern European guy comes in.

Ryan: It's like, my car is broken.

tommy cresta: He's like, my car is broken, need to fix it.

Ryan: I need you to fix it. And he goes back and he's like, there's an ethnic white here.

tommy cresta: And he goes back and like, there's an ethnic white here.

Ryan: I need you to help me.

tommy cresta: I need you to help.

Ryan: It's so funny.

tommy cresta: And just thought back to how we're going to take, like, me cause dude.

Ryan: And I just thought back ballerina, the big like mini boss, dude. I'm like, that's an ethnic white, scary dude.

tommy cresta: I'm like, it's an ethnic white.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Ethnic white. um I'm going recommend Rocky Balboa.

Ryan: Yeah. Um, I'm going to recommend.

tommy cresta: I watched the fight yesterday.

Ryan: Yes. Hmm.

tommy cresta: Second best Rocky movie.

Ryan: Second up, Rocky.

tommy cresta: So good.

Ryan: So good.

tommy cresta: like pretty good.

Ryan: Okay. What's the best?

tommy cresta: Nah. What's the best?

Ryan: What's the best? Rocky V is ass.

tommy cresta: Rocky fives fucking ass. Rocky 5's ass.

Ryan: Rocky V is ass.

tommy cresta: ain't hitting your bell. Shut up.

Ryan: yeah Which one's the best?

tommy cresta: Two.

Ryan: First or second? right.

tommy cresta: Two.

Ryan: Put Bob Bell above the first one.

tommy cresta: Oh, every day.

Ryan: Oh, every day. It's tough.

tommy cresta: Because one has an age is great.

Ryan: Yeah, yeah, I'll give you that.

tommy cresta: Like the fighting stuff. Yeah. Like the fight's not as...

Ryan: Mm-hmm.

tommy cresta: You don't go and rewatch the first one for the fight again.

Ryan: go

tommy cresta: Creed's better. I'm kidding.

Ryan: i'm kidding

tommy cresta: I'm kidding. I'm kidding.

Ryan: okay

tommy cresta: Calm down.

Ryan: Creed 1's pretty fucking good.

tommy cresta: Yeah, we're about to throw hands. We're about to recreate the fucking first fight from Creed 2 where you just need to die.

Ryan: single audience artist is

tommy cresta: I think...

Ryan: I will say, though, I think my favorite scene is the in Creed 1 when he's running up the street with all the ATVs and motorbikes going by.

tommy cresta: My favorite scene is the in Creed 1. That's the best scene in the franchise.

Ryan: That's the best scene of the franchise. what Dude, that gives me chills every time I see it.

tommy cresta: no it's Rocky's 2 run with all the kids running too?

Ryan: rough it one

tommy cresta: That's the best scene the franchise.

Ryan: No, that's awesome. But Creed running up...

tommy cresta: That's what makes that scene cool. Because it just shows Rocky, fucking so old, Creed, and then now you have all these kids AT&T's and dirt bikes, which you see shit ton in Philly.

Ryan: like it' just rocky

Ryan: So old. Creed, and then now you have all these kids, APPs and Dreadweights, which you see shit-cutting in Philly.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah, always.

tommy cresta: like it just makes First of all, the best scene in the franchise the end of Rocky 2.

Ryan: The best scene of the right time, when they both fall, I'm like, I see the old game.

tommy cresta: When they both fall and they're climbing the ropes, I still get it.

Ryan: I'm like, get up.

tommy cresta: I'm like, yeah because it's like Star Wars.

Ryan: I'm like, turn this on.

tommy cresta: I'm like, oh my god, he's not going to turn this time.

Ryan: was going to get I was going to get up.

tommy cresta: My brain drives to tell myself.

Ryan: The whole game was pretty cool. What's up?

tommy cresta: I'm like, Apollo's going to get up first.

Ryan: i was good

tommy cresta: The whole universe is going change all of a sudden.

Ryan: ah hold you twelve something

tommy cresta: So yeah, I'm going to say Rocky Balboa.

Ryan: So yeah, wanted to say Rocky.

tommy cresta: Because I think it's it was a, even though I love the Creed movies, it was the perfect way to end that franchise.

Ryan: I think it was a, even love it, it was the perfect way to end that.

tommy cresta: Like, you could end on Balboa and everyone was okay with that.

Ryan: Like you could end it on the album like that. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Because 5 is so bad.

Ryan: Because five is so dead.

tommy cresta: And now, they may have pushed the Creed movies too far, but we'll see.

Ryan: And now they they have pushed the series to the product, but we'll see.

tommy cresta: They are making a fourth one.

Ryan: They are meaningful. They are?

tommy cresta: They are?

Ryan: They are.

tommy cresta: They're making anime series of Creed, a TV show, and a movie.

Ryan: We're going to add a movie series of TV. Oh yeah. A TV show.

tommy cresta: Jesus Christ.

Ryan: Jesus Christ.

tommy cresta: that is That's what I'm saying.

Ryan: That's what I'm saying.

tommy cresta: I think they may maybe be pushing it too far.

Ryan: I think they're amazing. Is it going to be Michael B. Jordan directing again? fourth one

tommy cresta: I don't know. I hope he gets another change because i do like his directing.

Ryan: I don't know. I hope he gets that.

tommy cresta: I just feel like the fight was really weird. You know what I still haven't seen yet?

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Sinners.

Ryan: It was good. It was very good.

tommy cresta: We need to see that together.

Ryan: No, I saw that alone.

tommy cresta: I saw that.

tommy cresta: because Yeah, because I was in Cooperstown yeah for the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Ryan: No, I did see it by myself. Yeah, because I was in Cooperstown. Yeah. Me and my dad were brothers.

tommy cresta: Me and my dad my brother saw it. My dad and brother gave us a 60.

Ryan: My dad and brother were 60.

tommy cresta: Really? was like, fucking loser.

Ryan: Really?

tommy cresta: It's better than a 60.

Ryan: We did better than 60.

tommy cresta: But yeah.

Ryan: but yeah There is a post-credit scene.

tommy cresta: There's two.

Ryan: Two?

tommy cresta: There's two.

Ryan: There's two. You don't have to say it for the last one.

tommy cresta: You don't have to stay for the last one.

Ryan: It's fine.

tommy cresta: What? It's the last one.

Ryan: It's just it's just a guy singing a song.

tommy cresta: It's just the last

Ryan: And I literally – we watched the first one, and it was just me, but it was a pretty big theater.

tommy cresta: i really mean like it was just me

Ryan: And we walk out, and the girl who's like the ticket checker, she was like, oh, guys, you left a little early.

tommy cresta: And walking out the it's just the guy going back and singing a song. she was like oh that as you left a little early like mean ten fifteen other people go back And we're like like long the

Ryan: There's a post-credit scene. So like me and 10, 15 other people go back, and we're just like standing you know like along the seats just waiting. And the scene plays, and it's just a guy going back and singing a song.

tommy cresta: and scene place guy

Ryan: And the guy turns, he's like, are you fucking kidding me?

tommy cresta: and the cultures like fucking kidding me

Ryan: It's so funny.

tommy cresta: but the actual pushra sets up that there's going to be more of this story

Ryan: But the actual thing, that's something that we're going to want. Yeah. The first one is important.

tommy cresta: um good

Ryan: And it's not really, po like, it's, you know, there's the initial credits of just, like, the actors and the director.

tommy cresta: it's not wolf probably

Ryan: And then it's the scene.

tommy cresta: that

Ryan: Then there's, like, the big scroll.

tommy cresta: And then there's...

Ryan: So, yeah. Although you missed it, didn't you?

tommy cresta: although you Yeah, I missed it.

Ryan: Yeah, missed it.

tommy cresta: see i mean I truly was like, there's no way Sinners has a post-credits scene.

Ryan: You walked out. he was like no I mean, it's like a five-minute, it's the end of the movie.

tommy cresta: It's like a scene.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: it's

Ryan: It's like a little

tommy cresta: It's not like a little thing. like It's a whole sequence. really important. Yeah, it clearly sets up that there's going more to the story.

Ryan: yeah It's a good ending.

tommy cresta: ah yeah

Ryan: It's good. It's a good scene.

tommy cresta: um But yeah, that's all we have for this episode.

Ryan: but yeah that's all why not

tommy cresta: Thank you, guys.

Ryan: Recommendation of the week.

tommy cresta: Oh, shit, yeah. unbreaking cause I ah yeah already talked about it, but it's unbroken. It's pretty good. That's a good one. I don't think either one of us have ever recommended that either. Really? It doesn't happen very often that we both...

Ryan: seen it a long time.

tommy cresta: Was there second one that Dougie talked about?

Ryan: Wasn't there a second one that nobody talked about? am I thinking of something else?

tommy cresta: I don't know.

Ryan: don't

tommy cresta: There's definitely not a sequel to this movie.

Ryan: I think there was a second. No, I thought there was a second one when he got home and i had like PTSD.

tommy cresta: No, there was second one when he got don't think he guessed it.

Ryan: I could be thinking of a totally different movie.

tommy cresta: think it was Jacob's Ladder. No.
