tommy cresta: two years ago. We were doing the podcast two years ago today.

Ryan: Okay.

tommy cresta: We were probably doing it three years ago today. If I went and looked.

Ryan: Yeah. um But yeah, what I'm bringing Is tomorrow in the morning?

tommy cresta: But yeah, the reason I'm bringing that up is tomorrow is my one year anniversary. Did you out with me?

tommy cresta: No, she's My girlfriend did not break out with me. Tomorrow is our one year anniversary.

Ryan: It's over. It's

tommy cresta: Which very nice. But, yeah, almost one year ago today, I have one of the most embarrassing moments on the podcast.

Ryan: still so funny. It's worse than any other movie.

tommy cresta: It's worse than the cancelled moment. It's worse than any other moment on this show.

Ryan: canceled moment.

tommy cresta: I can't say it on the show. it was very early on the show.

Ryan: it was

tommy cresta: I said a word that I didn't know could get us in trouble.

Ryan: Oh yeah, that's right. Yeah. It wasn't racist.

tommy cresta: No, it was not racist, nothing like that.

Ryan: No, it wasn't racist.

tommy cresta: It was just a word I had no idea.

Ryan: No. He's all good. He's good boy. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. yeah

Ryan: Yeah. He's a very good boy.

tommy cresta: But yeah, tomorrow's my one-year anniversary, so just thought funny to bring up that almost a year ago.

Ryan: We got, yeah, Mace Windu, Luke, Han Solo, Palpatine, Maul, Anakin, and we got a Kit Fisto back there somewhere.

tommy cresta: Mace Windu, Luke, Han Solo, Palpatine. oh and kim we got a good fist over back there. No, you can't see Spider-Man up there, but he's up there.

Ryan: Spider-Man. Yeah. He took Grogu's spot because Grogu was savagely murdered.

tommy cresta: It's a Grogu spot against Grogu. Yeah, Grogu was killed in the first degree.

Ryan: Yeah, Grogu was killed in the first degree. We got an Apollo lightning with silver circle.

tommy cresta: got the Mullet Nightwing and then Silver Surfer behind me. But yeah.

Ryan: yeah Oh.

tommy cresta: Oh, that makes more sense.

Ryan: It makes more sense. Who'd think?

tommy cresta: Who'd you think it was? i don't know why.

Ryan: I don't know why. I thought it was...

tommy cresta: i thought it was um the Colossus.

Ryan: um Who's the Colossus?

tommy cresta: I don't know why.

Ryan: X-Men. I don't know why. I saw the silver dude.

tommy cresta: Oh, yeah.

Ryan: I was like...

tommy cresta: No, Silver Surfer.

Ryan: I was like, usually he's got clothes on.

tommy cresta: like, usually it's going

Ryan: That's weird.

tommy cresta: Hold on.

Ryan: Silver Surfer makes more sense.

tommy cresta: Much more sense.

Ryan: what Yeah.

tommy cresta: And also, Ryan didn't answer the text when I said it, but we are um we we got nominated again for a People's Choice Award.

Ryan: And also, Ryan is excellent. But we are... I don't know.

tommy cresta: I don't know. and We were either two-time nominees or three-time nominees.

Ryan: And we were... He's a...

tommy cresta: don't know.

Ryan: will

tommy cresta: We were up for two categories this year.

Ryan: were up Yeah, we're just drowning in awards, so we don't lose track.

tommy cresta: john We're just drowning in nominations. Fucking 80s ladies are probably going to take away another win from us.

Ryan: God damn it. Okay.

tommy cresta: But, yeah, so we're –

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: i

Ryan: no

tommy cresta: No, we're...

Ryan: actually

tommy cresta: I actually don't know if what we're up for. We're either up for both best film and TV, which is what we were up for our last time, or we're up for best male podcasts.

Ryan: oh best

tommy cresta: Okay.

Ryan: okay

tommy cresta: Or we're up for both, which will also be really cool.

Ryan: yeah but

tommy cresta: But, yeah, thank you, everyone, again, for the listening.

Ryan: yes

tommy cresta: We've been...

Ryan: we've

tommy cresta: i feel like we can both agree. We're on a much better schedule yeah in, like, the last couple months.

Ryan: Yeah, now that we actually have have a schedule. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, that we have, like, an actual schedule Mondays.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. Okay.

tommy cresta: We've been a lot better with it.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: But, yeah, and I think the TikTok... like actually posting on TikTok and using social media.

Ryan: yeah yeah

tommy cresta: But yeah, so thank you.

Ryan: so

tommy cresta: Keep voting. Well, it's only they like, so I learned how the voting works now.

Ryan: well so

tommy cresta: So everyone who voted to like get the list put together, like who actually gets nominated, then from all that, they pick 20,000 of those people and then those people vote.

Ryan: yeah thankful

Ryan: okay

tommy cresta: So I thought about that.

Ryan: but

tommy cresta: What if they only pick people that voted for those people by accident?

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: So i was like, fuck.

Ryan: like Well, how many people vote originally for the list?

tommy cresta: How many people vote for which one? I think it's, they said it was like 300 and something thousand.

Ryan: Okay. Let me shrink it down.

tommy cresta: Okay. So let's hope it's just a, what what was the joke?

Ryan: This hope is bunch of... I was trying to think. don't know.

tommy cresta: The colonel.

Ryan: The kernels? Raisinets.

tommy cresta: raise

Ryan: That's better.

tommy cresta: The Raisinette podcast and the OGs would know what we're talking about.

Ryan: Yeah, the OGs. Yeah, like Oscar.

tommy cresta: First off, that dude, I'm, that was a lot.

Ryan: I wonder if Oscar's still listening. our Our boy, Oscar. well

tommy cresta: Well, that was like the Brad Pitt joke.

Ryan: so

tommy cresta: Someone got that.

Ryan: Really? yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. When I did a fan question, someone asked if Brad Pitt's still going to guest spot. Well, first of all, people would understand ah small guys.

Ryan: and you

tommy cresta: we didn't do ever do a video podcast. Remember, they used to we used to set them up.

Ryan: like and oh yeah Just put them all around.

tommy cresta: We used to set them up as like a joke. Oh, yeah. And when we did it in the basement.

Ryan: yeah yeah oh

tommy cresta: But yeah, now you guys can actually see what we were setting up. um

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, now moving on to a little bit.

Ryan: Back when we used to put our laptops on top of Bibles in your basement.

tommy cresta: about Bibles. Bibles because we were sitting at a little –

Ryan: had to prop them up. The best thing you had was Bible.

tommy cresta: God, that was a long time ago now.

Ryan: It's the biggest book. It's one of the only books you had.

tommy cresta: I have ah books

Ryan: Dumbass. You don't have books. You don't read them? I don't read them either.

tommy cresta: First off, I have read more books this year than I think you've read in the last five years.

Ryan: You absolutely have. My life. I don't fucking read. and

tommy cresta: I just finished another book.

Ryan: Yeah?

tommy cresta: What was that

Ryan: Nice. What was that one about? ah yeah.

tommy cresta: It was very good.

Ryan: Okay.

tommy cresta: Very excited.

Ryan: Cool.

tommy cresta: That goes into a production like a week, I think.

Ryan: Really? I don't know. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

tommy cresta: Did you see that Josh Hutchison...

Ryan: we

tommy cresta: Woody Harrelson and Jennifer Lawrence signed a contract to like come back for like a credit scene or something.

Ryan: expand

Ryan: really um

tommy cresta: I don't know what they're going to do.

Ryan: i don't know

tommy cresta: Well, enough of that part of the conversation, the intro.

Ryan: well enough

tommy cresta: How about the Phillies? Seven of last ten.

Ryan: that's a one

tommy cresta: Mets are one of the last ten.

Ryan: yeah police

tommy cresta: the Phillies have – they were three games back after a little bit of a skid, and now they're up five and a half.

Ryan: they were

Ryan: after little

tommy cresta: Phillies are now going into a series against the Reds, and I forget who the Mets are going into a series against.

Ryan: he's

Ryan: forget Yeah, I forget too. I mean, yeah, that's tough.

tommy cresta: Mets had to just go play the Brewers and blew a 5-0 lead. you know

Ryan: Yeah, I mean, the Brewers are just insane right now.

tommy cresta: In the last game, which was...

tommy cresta: They were also insane going into the postseason last year.

Ryan: Yeah. yeah Yeah, the Reds are pretty hot right now.

tommy cresta: Yeah. And lost. Yeah. The rents pretty hot right now.

Ryan: Come off.

tommy cresta: They were hot when they came into Philly, though, last time.

Ryan: Yeah, they split a series with the Pirates 2-2, but they also yesterday's game 14-8, they're doing pretty decent.

tommy cresta: Yeah. And got beat. They split a series with the Pirates 2-2. They also won yesterday's game 14-8, so they're doing pretty decent.

Ryan: doing thirty days and

tommy cresta: Yeah. Yeah, nice little Phillies.

Ryan: Elie De La Cruz is still kind of doing...

tommy cresta: doing LE things, striking out a lot but having a lot of cool highlights.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah. mean, he's been...

tommy cresta: He's been, not bad this year, 277, 1900.

Ryan: It's not bad this year. 277 with 19 homers.

tommy cresta: Much better than he was last year.

Ryan: and Oh, yeah.

tommy cresta: Oh, yeah.

Ryan: however everybody I'm sure he's got 20, 30 stolen.

tommy cresta: I'm sure he's got 20, 30, so. No, he's down on still on days.

Ryan: No, he's down on stolen bases this year, I think.

tommy cresta: What does he have? He's got 31.

Ryan: He's got 31.

tommy cresta: So he's still great.

Ryan: So still great, but for his standards...

tommy cresta: way down from him, what he was last year.

Ryan: Yeah, he had 67 last year, so...

tommy cresta: He had 67 last year.

Ryan: No. What's that?

tommy cresta: Yeah, he's not going to come close to that number.

Ryan: think 20,000... no but side

tommy cresta: What's that have? That was like 20, and I think he leads the team.

Ryan: Stott, I can find out.

tommy cresta: That's Yeah, cause i don't think he's going to get his 30 that he's had each of the last three seasons.

Ryan: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Stotts have a nice little resurgence though the last like two weeks.

Ryan: so

Ryan: Yeah, he's much better since the All-Star break.

tommy cresta: Yeah, much better since he'll start there.

Ryan: And talk about resurgence.

tommy cresta: can talk about resurgence with Brandon Marsh.

Ryan: Brandon Marsh.

tommy cresta: Or Max Kepler. Max Kepler's been good too.

Ryan: Max Kepler's been good, too. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Huge hits in like like three of the last five games.

Ryan: Oh, yeah. Big time.

tommy cresta: Had a huge game when we were there.

Ryan: Yeah. oh yeah oh

tommy cresta: Oh yeah. Double and a home run. Big time.

Ryan: big time yeah earning

tommy cresta: earned another... did you see all the tweets that were like he earned another day with me when he was like, great day.

Ryan: know

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Hit a home run

Ryan: I like the dude.

tommy cresta: We won, and the Mets lost.

Ryan: He's good. Yeah. Oh, no.

tommy cresta: I like Max Kepler. Yeah. like Kepler.

Ryan: Stats at 19 stolen bases. No.

tommy cresta: He seems like a cool guy.

Ryan: he's just not walking enough.

tommy cresta: Yeah. And he he was even, the way that he's like, their boos are their love language. is He like gets the whole feeling about it.

Ryan: like but know stats in nineteen stolen base

tommy cresta: Oh, Scott's at 19. Oh, he's not in that 20. Yeah, don't think he's getting 30.

Ryan: no

tommy cresta: No. I mean, the on base him not getting on base is going wide.

Ryan: i mean the whole

tommy cresta: doesn't get to 30. Yeah, he's not walking at all.

Ryan: yeah he's just not walking enough

tommy cresta: He doesn't get to 30.

Ryan: But Brandon Marsh is back up to almost 280.

tommy cresta: to a

Ryan: The pop hasn't been there.

tommy cresta: but papa

Ryan: He's been he's usually consistent for like 10 home runs.

tommy cresta: usually

Ryan: He's probably going to end with seven.

tommy cresta: No, he's considered like 15. Because I went and looked, he's like 15, he 15, 16, 20.

Ryan: He had 20 last year? Damn.

tommy cresta: He had 20 last year?

Ryan: Yeah, I was going to say.

tommy cresta: Or two years ago.

Ryan: damn ah

tommy cresta: Oh no, I'm thinking Boehm.

Ryan: yeah i was going to say

tommy cresta: He might have had 18 as his most.

Ryan: Brandon, I think he had like 13.

tommy cresta: I think he had like 13.

Ryan: Yeah, 16.

tommy cresta: No, he's definitely hit 16 this season.

Ryan: um yeah sixteen All right.

tommy cresta: Last year he had 16.

Ryan: Last year he had 16.

tommy cresta: But it was, with us, it was, he had,

Ryan: But it was with us. It was. He had three after the trade in 22 and then 12, 16.

tommy cresta: 3 after the trade in.2 and then 12, 16.

Ryan: ah twelve sixteen And he's got seven right now.

tommy cresta: He's got 7 right now.

Ryan: So he might hit 10 if he stays.

tommy cresta: He might hit 10. If he stays on, he's got 2 in the last week.

Ryan: I mean, he's got two in the last week. So.

tommy cresta: Harper's on a little bit of a cold streak too, though.

Ryan: Yeah, he snapped it a little bit, though.

tommy cresta: Yeah. He snapped it a little bit, though.

Ryan: Double last night. yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah. Well, yeah.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: So hopefully they'll go and win a nice series with the Reds. Keep it going. I actually pulled that up on my computer.

Ryan: they home or away?

tommy cresta: Are they home or what? They're away. And then they go on and then they

Ryan: They're away.

tommy cresta: Go home, play, the Phillies go home, play someone, then go right back to New York and play the Mets.

Ryan: Okay. Yeah.

tommy cresta: be big series.

Ryan: That'll be a big series.

tommy cresta: That'd be so nice to go in and sweep them.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: We swapped them at home. Oh, no, we won two of three when they came in and played us, right?

Ryan: Yeah, I think so. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: But, yeah. Moving on from that, what seems to be like our best segment on YouTube from Analyte, like where like people seem to watch the most, seems to be our starting cut list.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

Ryan: lately it seems a very starting couple yeah

tommy cresta: seem to really like this new segment. And I think i've gotten of I've put together, I went through Letterboxd, and i went at first I went and did the 10 most popular films, went and looked through them, and I reworked the list, and I tried to find movies, because I didn't know which one of those movies you've seen and haven't seen, so I reworked it, and I know for sure you have seen nine of these movies.

Ryan: and

Ryan: first and

Ryan: i ah know

Ryan: yeah

Ryan: ah sure Uh-oh. I don't know.

tommy cresta: i don't know if you've seen one of these movies.

Ryan: Okay. But there are 10 movies.

tommy cresta: But here are 10 movies, and I don't know what, yeah, I guess I'll do S and C.

Ryan: I don't know. So first movie, Black Hawk.

tommy cresta: So first movie on this list, Black Hawk Down.

Ryan: It's a good movie. It is a good Good movie.

tommy cresta: It is a good movie. It's a good movie.

Ryan: It's tough.

tommy cresta: It's tough.

Ryan: But I feel you went through most popular movies.

tommy cresta: I feel like you went through most popular movies.

Ryan: I went through most popular movies.

tommy cresta: I went through most popular and then I just went through and...

Ryan: Just movies? Yeah.

tommy cresta: Just movies.

Ryan: Okay.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I will say they are not all the top 10 most popular movies.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: I guess I'll keep what I'm talking about.

Ryan: mean, I guess I'll keep Black Hawk down for now. It's good one. It's the first already movie ever saw.

tommy cresta: It's the first already movie I ever saw. So start?

Ryan: Yeah. Watched with my dad. Barbie.

tommy cresta: Barbie. Barbie?

Ryan: Barbie.

tommy cresta: Mm-hmm.

tommy cresta: I like Barbie, think I can call Barbie. Okay. Deadpool and Wolverine.

Ryan: I liked it in theaters.

tommy cresta: I liked it in theaters.

Ryan: I haven't watched it in full a second time, but I've seen plenty of it again.

Ryan: it is funny.

tommy cresta: It is funny.

Ryan: There's great moments.

tommy cresta: There's great moments.

tommy cresta: Me, you, Nate, and Puff.

Ryan: think I, yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. And Brendan.

Ryan: Brendan. Brendan was there.

tommy cresta: Because we coerced him into taking...

Ryan: Yeah. Was that the hot dog day or was that?

tommy cresta: Was that the hot guy, or was that him? Yes, that was that night.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: That was the hot dog ones.

Ryan: Nate. Yeah, the hot th dog buns are always pre-cut down the side, right?

tommy cresta: Yeah, the hot dog ones are always pretty hot down the side, right?

Ryan: So you can open them.

tommy cresta: you can open them.

Ryan: This fucking moron just didn't notice, I guess, and just clawed them open like an animal just from the street from the top.

tommy cresta: This fucking moron just didn't notice, I guess, and just clawed them open like an No, you push them like this. Yeah, but then you just rip them.

Ryan: Yeah, but then he just ripped them.

tommy cresta: It's so stupid.

Ryan: It was so stupid. They were cut.

tommy cresta: They were cut.

Ryan: They were pre-cut to open up.

tommy cresta: They were pre-cut. Open up.

Ryan: And he was just like, oh, just just rip them open, I guess.

tommy cresta: I didn't even know she was British until I saw her talk. Outside, yeah, because I always saw her.

Ryan: Yeah. Cause I only saw her, she was Cinderella, which I think she didn't do an English accent for.

tommy cresta: She was Cinderella. I think she did it in Jacksonville. Never seen it.

Ryan: I mean, I saw it when I was a kid and I didn't care.

tommy cresta: I saw when was kid. I've never, I refuse to watch the live action Disney. It was this first one.

tommy cresta: ah Wait. was like Yeah, you're like a TV.

Ryan: they're coming to Earth. Why? This terrible. Then the trailer came out and i was like, oh, fuck.

tommy cresta: It like retconned Prometheus stuff.

Ryan: Does it?

tommy cresta: They said like fuck David's vision and all that.

Ryan: Fully? Yeah.

tommy cresta: Because people do not love it.

Ryan: not love i like

tommy cresta: I like the whole how it begins and stuff.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: But I know I'm in the minor.

Ryan: and know I know in the mind.

tommy cresta: I'm also one of the few people that likes both Covenant and Prometheus.

Ryan: I'm also of the people that likes Prometheus. Yeah.

tommy cresta: People either like one and hate the other.

Ryan: I feel like most people don't hate Prometheus and some people really like it and then Covenant people were not happy with.

tommy cresta: Most people. don't hate Prometheus people really like and Covenant don't hate it.

Ryan: Yeah, but if you like Covenant, you hate Covenant.

tommy cresta: Yeah, but if you like Covenant, you hate Prometheus. If you like Prometheus, you hate Covenant of them.

Ryan: Yeah. I think...

tommy cresta: And I like both.

Ryan: Dave Fincher. Fincher didn't make that movie.

tommy cresta: I knowt i also think, actually no, Alien 3 is pretty fucking terrible. So is Resurrection.

Ryan: It's just that he made one movie for you.

tommy cresta: Fincher didn't make that movie. Fincher just the name they put on that movie. um But yeah, now moving on from the starting cut list, which I think Ryan actually did did pretty good on.

Ryan: Um, but yeah, now moving on to the show. Did, did, did, did, did.

tommy cresta: I know, I studied like a motherfucker right there.

Ryan: I started like a mother.

tommy cresta: ah Moving into our news segment, we have 10.

tommy cresta: This comes out in 2026.

Ryan: I still haven't watched season one.

tommy cresta: No official release date. I still haven't watched Season 1.

Ryan: I can't even go into it because Hawkman, that's a long ass.

tommy cresta: I think I'm going to because fuck, man, that's a long-ass show that I tried to catch up on the anime when I got my surgery done.

Ryan: I don't know.

Ryan: How far did do you make it?

tommy cresta: I think I'm...

Ryan: Because you really liked it when you started it.

tommy cresta: I was loving it.

Ryan: I was loving animation.

tommy cresta: The animation, again, is phenomenal. The show's amazing.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: I think I am going to watch the remake of it.

Ryan: I think am going to watch the movie.

tommy cresta: when they You know how they're redoing it? Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: But they're cutting out like the filler of it? Yeah, well, there's already the original.

Ryan: Yeah. Well, there is already the for the original. it's not like It's fan stuff, but it's the one yeah one piece.

tommy cresta: It's not like it's fan stuff. Yeah, so there's like a website.

Ryan: It'll just show you the important episodes you can watch.

tommy cresta: Yeah, OnePace. Yeah, OnePace. Yeah.

Ryan: But I feel like that's...

tommy cresta: But I feel like that's, isn't that also like 200 episodes?

Ryan: Isn't that also like 200 episodes or something?

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: So I might just, I might watch the live action and ah the ne other Netflix version of it.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: um We got a first trailer for J.

Ryan: got a first cell

tommy cresta: Kelly, Noah Baumbach's new film starring George Clooney and Adam Sandler. It's very cool to see Adam Sandler doing more of these kind of films, which again is more like a dramedy.

Ryan: like co

Ryan: again more than technology

tommy cresta: It's not full comedy.

Ryan: so bomb

tommy cresta: Noah Baumbach, I can't remember the last feature he's done.

Ryan: ah ki

tommy cresta: Yeah, he's by himself.

Ryan: yeah just by himself

tommy cresta: Because I mean most of the time he works with yeah Greta, his wife.

Ryan: i mean most of the time he works kind of alum yeah

tommy cresta: Partner. I don't know if they're actually married. No, if they are married.

Ryan: not there

tommy cresta: That's right.

Ryan: Greta Gerwig. That's her name. I said Greta and I was like Thunberg.

tommy cresta: i say

Ryan: That's not the one. Think of the thing of the right name.

tommy cresta: Wait, did he direct Marriage Story?

Ryan: direct Didn't they co-direct it?

tommy cresta: they co-direct

Ryan: Oh, no, he directed

tommy cresta: Oh, no, he directed it.

Ryan: Oh, really?

tommy cresta: Oh, really?

Ryan: That's his, that was great for while.

tommy cresta: That was his last feature. Wow, that's a pretty good last feature.

Ryan: That's a lead.

tommy cresta: Yeah? Yeah, I mean, Noah Baumbach is an amazing filmmaker.

Ryan: Yeah. upon Yeah, he's great. I feel like George Clooney hasn't done anything in a while.

tommy cresta: so Yeah, a what?

Ryan: Yeah. Okay.

tommy cresta: Now he's going to in the next Oceans? Which Noah Baumbach's also supposedly circling?

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Okay.

Ryan: go um so for that

tommy cresta: I'm excited for that. Especially if they can get Damon, Pitt, and him to come back.

Ryan: good name and Yeah, if they can get everybody, if they get Cheadle and um the case.

tommy cresta: they cheat on him. Dude, that would be... Cheeto's so much fun than that.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: It's

Ryan: Doing the worst British accent.

tommy cresta: so nice.

Ryan: It's awful. Casey Affleck, too.

tommy cresta: The dumbest storyline ever.

Ryan: dumbest storyline

tommy cresta: ah

Ryan: sand bull

tommy cresta: Sandra Bullock playing someone who looks like Sandra Bullock. That's what she's doing. It's Julia Roberts.

Ryan: No, it's Julia Roberts.

tommy cresta: Julia Roberts.

Ryan: Julia Roberts playing.

tommy cresta: Yeah. No, she plays Julia Roberts.

Ryan: No, she plays Julia Roberts. You don't remember that?

tommy cresta: No, I thought she's playing someone that looks like Julia Roberts.

Ryan: No, no, no.

tommy cresta: Impersonating Julia Roberts. No, no, no.

Ryan: No, no. Yeah, she, Julia Roberts plays Danny Ocean's wife, who I forget her name.

tommy cresta: Yeah, she... Julia Roberts plays... Someone... Yes. But she looks like Julia Roberts.

Ryan: She looks like Julia Roberts.

tommy cresta: She like Julia Roberts.

Ryan: And she goes, you have to pretend to be Julia Roberts.

tommy cresta: And she goes, you have to pretend to be... Be Julia... Yeah, that's what I mean.

Ryan: And then Bruce Willis is like, hey, Julia.

tommy cresta: Bruce Willis is like, ain't Julia? You're like, I don't know.

Ryan: She's like, ah. Yeah. yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah, terrible.

Ryan: it's It's so stupid.

tommy cresta: That movie's terrible, first all That's the third one.

Ryan: That's the third one, right?

tommy cresta: Yes.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Horrible.

Ryan: The second one's okay.

tommy cresta: The second one's okay. First one's amazing.

Ryan: first one First one's great.

tommy cresta: The great, yeah.

Ryan: The third one's really good.

tommy cresta: Second one's really good. I really like the second third one.

Ryan: The third one's, Pacino fucking sucks in the third one, too.

tommy cresta: The third one's... Yeah. And then we don't even talk about the next one.

Ryan: and that The Anne Hathaway one?

tommy cresta: The... The female one.

Ryan: Yeah. i I never saw it.

tommy cresta: I said I never saw it. Not good.

Ryan: Everybody said it was dog shit.

tommy cresta: and what you said

Ryan: and I will say the one.

tommy cresta: It's just like the Ghostbusters one. does have a, I will say, the ghostbu the all female Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters.

Ryan: That one has great That's funny.

tommy cresta: That is great, that's fine. The scene when Chris Hemsworth has the glasses, he's like, I took the lenses out because it's always fogged up.

Ryan: I took the lenses out because it's so funny.

tommy cresta: It's one of the funniest scenes.

Ryan: wanted that one behind the scenes.

tommy cresta: um Tom Holland took everyone behind the scenes on Spider-Man Brand New Day, which is like a behind-the-scenes trailer.

Ryan: and new

tommy cresta: It was so cool because he said it was the first time they ever ever had got to have fans on the set because they were actually doing practical stuff.

Ryan: It was so cool. said

Ryan: yeah And also, John Watts.

tommy cresta: And also, John Watts. Go fuck yourself.

Ryan: Go fuck yourself.

tommy cresta: The practical swinging looks great.

Ryan: Practical swinging walks the brain. yeah over Remember he came out again?

tommy cresta: remember he did like but Remember he came out against it?

Ryan: Who's directing this one now?

tommy cresta: It looks so good. I have no idea.

Ryan: I have no idea. i don't know. Is it the guy who did Shang-Chi?

tommy cresta: Isn't the guy who did Shang-Chi? Is it?

Ryan: Is it?

tommy cresta: ah look You keep doing But yeah, I'm i'm so excited.

Ryan: I'll look it up. You keep doing the list you get. I'm so excited.

tommy cresta: the one set The one picture everyone got that Spider-Man looks like he's just standing in a crowd of people on top of the car.

Ryan: The one set, the one set, the one set, and the crowd people at Public Arms.

tommy cresta: It's one of the coolest photos ever on a set.

Ryan: yeah it looks like some straight out a comic book like brown's movie yeah yeah Shang-Chi a lot

tommy cresta: It looks like someone straight out of a comic book. And the hype around this movie has skyrocketed. And yeah, I can't wait.

Ryan: destin daniel creton

tommy cresta: destinin daniel

Ryan: bread

tommy cresta: That's not who did. Shang-Chi.

Ryan: yeah that

tommy cresta: It is?

Ryan: yeah he worked on changji

tommy cresta: Oh,

Ryan: yeah you direct it and good movie

tommy cresta: well.

Ryan: wasn't like the best it wasn't wasn't the shine

tommy cresta: Yeah. Great action, though.

Ryan: yeah like changing you a lot

tommy cresta: The only problem I have Shang-Chi the third act.

Ryan: chun chi

tommy cresta: And it's just because feel like they went in a little big scale when it could have been such a small scale fight.

Ryan: like they

tommy cresta: Yeah, a little

Ryan: Yeah, a little bit. i wonder when when's when's he coming back too?

tommy cresta: When's he coming back to? Dude, I have no idea.

Ryan: That was a big post-credits scene, but then...

tommy cresta: That was big post-credits fight for them.

Ryan: with Captain Long.

tommy cresta: Yeah, with Captain Morrow. You see her back in there.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Hulk. Oh, no, you see ah Banner.

Ryan: Long.

tommy cresta: You don't see Hulk.

Ryan: But that was important too.

tommy cresta: But that was important, too.

Ryan: because

tommy cresta: Yeah, because you hadn't seen him back as Banner.

Ryan: Yeah, Professor Hulk, but not anymore.

tommy cresta: Yeah, he was still Professor Hulk. So dumb that they did Professor Hulk.

Ryan: don

tommy cresta: That's still my biggest issue with Endgame.

Ryan: You like Professor Hulk?

tommy cresta: You like Professor Hulk? No.

Ryan: I don't mind Professor Hulk.

tommy cresta: I don't mind Professor Hulk. I want to just Hulk.

Ryan: and Okay.

tommy cresta: Okay.

Ryan: I don't like Professor Hulk the comic.

tommy cresta: I don't like Professor Hulk in the comics. Okay.

Ryan: Okay.

tommy cresta: I like Hulk.

Ryan: You think he's going to be Professor Hulk in Spider-Man?

tommy cresta: think he's going to be Professor Hulk and Spider-Man?

Ryan: No.

tommy cresta: No.

Ryan: No?

tommy cresta: No?

Ryan: think he's going to be playing old Hulk?

tommy cresta: think he's going to be like normal. He like... Hulk's out.

Ryan: I don't think so.

tommy cresta: Okay.

Ryan: because he I mean, maybe he will Hulk out, but he was still Professor Hulk again in She-Hulk after that.

tommy cresta: I mean, maybe he will out, but he was still Professor Hulk and then she Hulk after that. Oh, shit.

Ryan: Oh, shit.

tommy cresta: I forgot he shows up.

Ryan: I forgot.

tommy cresta: I think Marvel just needs to forget Phase 4 happened.

Ryan: I Marvel just needs to forget me.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: for

tommy cresta: um James Gunn to write and direct the next Superman family film.

Ryan: He's gone to Raider.

tommy cresta: So I don't...

Ryan: I now. I don't

tommy cresta: The way that they word this, I don't know if they mean the next Superman film is a Superman family film or they mean the next film in the Superman family.

Ryan: but way we learn this i in the next and mean Yeah.

tommy cresta: So does that mean we're getting another film?

Ryan: i mean it didn't

tommy cresta: Like a Superman sequel?

Ryan: It is pretty vague.

tommy cresta: Or Supergirl sequel?

Ryan: we go or

tommy cresta: Or does this just mean the next movie that has to do with Superman and James Gunn?

Ryan: I don't know.

tommy cresta: I don't know.

Ryan: Or it could be like just a Superboy movie.

tommy cresta: Or it could be like just Superboy movie. Or could be...

Ryan: Or it could be so the whole Superfamily where it's Superman, Supergirl, Superboy, and whoever.

tommy cresta: Which I would be so... The whole Superfamily. Yeah. Superman, Supergirl, Superboy. Yeah.

Ryan: You know, whoever else.

tommy cresta: but That would have to mean that Superman Lois have a kid.

Ryan: Or they could do the Lex clone thing.

tommy cresta: or they do the Lex clone thing. Oh, the clone. Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: But he just did that.

Ryan: just did

tommy cresta: That was the villain of the movie.

Ryan: the That was.

tommy cresta: That was.

Ryan: This one could work.

tommy cresta: That would work.

Ryan: Because that one, Ultraman was a dumbass.

tommy cresta: That one, Ultraman was a dumbass.

Ryan: they They didn't do it right.

tommy cresta: That's going to be what's-his-name. I'm telling coming back as Bizarro. He went to that universe.

Ryan: Oh, yeah.

tommy cresta: is

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: He's got to.

Ryan: We could be like, you know, Lex perfected the cloning thing.

tommy cresta: But it could be like, you Lex perfected the clone. Yeah, maybe.

Ryan: Yeah. Sorry, Mark.

tommy cresta: That'd be pretty cool. Um... We got a new trailer for him starring Marlon Wayans and Tariq Withers.

Ryan: so

tommy cresta: I truly think this movie is going to be a disaster.

Ryan: i truly do this

Ryan: Yeah, it looks...

tommy cresta: Yeah, it looks...

Ryan: ah Maybe it could be okay, but...

tommy cresta: I mean, maybe.

Ryan: I think...

tommy cresta: I think Monkey Paul got this movie because Jordan Pio didn't get weapons.

Ryan: I've got this movie because... <unk> of

Ryan: Maybe. I just feel like that from the trailer, it just seems like they're trying too much.

tommy cresta: I just feel like that from the trailer, it just seems like they're trying too much.

Ryan: Like, if if it was a movie about, like, you know...

tommy cresta: Yeah, like I don't understand. it was movie about like, you know, if it was like a psychological horror about

Ryan: If it was, like, a psychological horror about, you know, trying too hard to...

tommy cresta: you know, trying too hard to, you know, he's a football player, and he's going too far, and he gets into steroids and all this, and he's going to push too far.

Ryan: Just, you know, he's a football player, and he's going too far, and he gets into steroids and all this, and he's getting pushed too far. so

tommy cresta: So much cooler.

Ryan: That could be pretty cool.

tommy cresta: The demonic stuff seems like it's pushing it so far.

Ryan: Yeah, there's like cult stuff and like they're bleeding everywhere.

tommy cresta: Yeah. yeah eating everywhere

Ryan: It's like, all right, that's...

tommy cresta: I think it's going to be that he made a deal with the devil or something.

Ryan: it's going to be like me to with

tommy cresta: Yeah, probably something like

Ryan: Yeah, probably something like that.

tommy cresta: It's going to go so far.

Ryan: so

tommy cresta: Which is, go yeah, like you said, too far.

Ryan: Which is going to, yeah, like you said, too far. I think if they made a psychological thriller about just like going too far into the things you love, that could be pretty interesting.

tommy cresta: I think if they made a psychological thriller about just, going too far into the things you love, that could be pretty interesting. Yeah, it's kind of like a movie that just came out.

Ryan: it's kind of like...

tommy cresta: ah Magazine Dreams did that really well.

Ryan: Magazine Dreams that really well.

tommy cresta: Yeah, yeah, something like that.

Ryan: Yeah, yeah, something like that.

tommy cresta: But yeah, and I was excited for this movie.

Ryan: Yeah, and i was excited for this movie.

tommy cresta: Well, at first, they kept saying Jordan Peele's him.

Ryan: Well, first, question is...

tommy cresta: So I thought Jordan Peele directed this.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: And then I was like, oh, no, it's Jordan Peele's Monkey Paul produced this.

Ryan: I'm glad he's doing stuff and

tommy cresta: yeah

Ryan: Yeah, I might go see it, but.

tommy cresta: But yeah, i I'm really excited for Marlon Wayans because he does look like this dude's having a blast filming it.

Ryan: Will and Wayne's? oh

tommy cresta: Because they are just letting him off the chain to be himself in this.

Ryan: just letting yeah yeah i'm glad he's doing stuff again

tommy cresta: So I'm still going to watch it.

Ryan: watch yeah my go

tommy cresta: go it. Hey, he got paid a full...

Ryan: ah got you

tommy cresta: but ah He got paid to be Robin even though never showed up as Robin.

Ryan: a b rockin though never should

tommy cresta: Did you know that?

Ryan: one way

tommy cresta: Yeah, he got cast as Robin in Batman and Robin.

Ryan: chance is robin and batmanro

tommy cresta: He was supposed to be instead of Chris O'Donnell.

Ryan: really

Ryan: and's page of them that's wrong Really?

tommy cresta: There's like pictures of him as Robin. Like screen tests and everything.

Ryan: Why do they...

tommy cresta: And he still got paid because there was like a scheduling conflicts.

Ryan: Oh. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Batman's banger.

tommy cresta: But he had signed the contract and everything that like was guaranteed money.

Ryan: It's not as funny. It's not as funny.

tommy cresta: So he still got paid as full.

Ryan: No. Batman and Robin's a complex.

tommy cresta: Good for him. Didn't have to be in that shit movie.

Ryan: yeah yeah robin

tommy cresta: Hey, Batman Forever still banger, though.

Ryan: for i mean robin's a bank

tommy cresta: Batman and Robin. That's better than Batman and Robin.

Ryan: that's better than back camera

tommy cresta: It's not as funny.

Ryan: that is funny it's not as far no

tommy cresta: It's not as funny as Batman and Robin. You were right there.

Ryan: i made a robins account Yeah, it was good.

tommy cresta: New Final Destination film is in the works with the Final Destination Bloodline co-writers to return, which is very good because I think it is possibly the best film in the franchise.

Ryan: Yeah. It loses steam little bit, but possibly the good. They were still yeah it was good

tommy cresta: Yeah, it was good. Me and Sam watched it the other day.

Ryan: me and sam

tommy cresta: She hadn't seen it. And I did agree watching it again. The first half of the movie's writing is really good, especially in a Final Destination movie.

Ryan: half writing

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: But it does really lose like the quippy writing yeah as the movie goes.

Ryan: but it does really but in writing year

tommy cresta: loses steam bit.

Ryan: loses steam a little bit but the kills are still good

tommy cresta: yeah

Ryan: and we're still fun

tommy cresta: I think the hospital kills are great.

Ryan: the hospital

tommy cresta: The MRI ones.

Ryan: The m MRI one's really cool.

tommy cresta: Yeah. And then I think after then it kind of dragged for me.

Ryan: A

Ryan: little bit.

tommy cresta: A little bit.

Ryan: Yeah. Oh, yeah.

tommy cresta: like go i feel like stuff the three final deaths kind of dragged for me.

Ryan: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Like the whole scene at the house.

Ryan: like the whole cn

tommy cresta: Like, when they're trying to save themselves.

Ryan: oh yeah ah seen kind

tommy cresta: That scene kind of Just cause I knew exactly how they were going to, play the idea.

Ryan: like do you

tommy cresta: But that was just me. But I am excited for Adam Steen, the guy who directed and wrote it, to come back.

Ryan: i and

tommy cresta: Because I still think it's her...

Ryan: i still think

tommy cresta: I don't think they died at the end.

Ryan: think they

tommy cresta: i think I think it's her premonition now.

Ryan: you think I think it's her premonition now. Yeah, her own premonition.

tommy cresta: Yeah, her own.

Ryan: Okay.

tommy cresta: cause she didn't have her own yet.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: But I could also be terribly wrong.

Ryan: Oh, yeah. Yeah. um

tommy cresta: um

Ryan: got a first

tommy cresta: We got a first... Poster for... Which is so funny because we just talked about this on the last episode.

Ryan: and

tommy cresta: Good Boy.

Ryan: good boy

tommy cresta: Which is the horror movie from the perspective of the dog.

Ryan: just um the

tommy cresta: Me and you just talked about this on the last podcast episode.

Ryan: you just talked oh yeah

tommy cresta: Oh, yeah. Yeah. It debuts October 3rd, but the first poster came out.

Ryan: like they use

tommy cresta: And the first like stills of it.

Ryan: respect for the

Ryan: so funny television man really yeah okay it's not like you'll be over yeah but it said like the dog i say dog okay but it looks pretty um uh we got trellis

tommy cresta: It looks... it It's had like it debuted at a film festival and everything. But it's not like POV of a dog. like yeah But they said like the dog...

tommy cresta: like how they say dogs can sense the paranormal stuff. It's like along the lines of that, but it looks pretty cool. The c set photos look pretty cool.

Ryan: sweet

tommy cresta: Um, but yeah, that's all we really know.

Ryan: we got

tommy cresta: Uh, we got a trailer for the paper, the office spinoff, which premieres September 3rd, seeing Oscar react to be like, no, I didn't sign up for that.

Ryan: Yeah. you ask yeah

tommy cresta: That was pretty funny.

Ryan: That was the best part of the trailer.

tommy cresta: I don't think this is going to be good.

Ryan: don't think. I think it's got a shot, but yeah, it's gonna.

tommy cresta: I think it's got a shot. It's going to have to really catch me. Yeah. It's going to, I'm also not as big of an office fan.

Ryan: almost not

tommy cresta: So this is more for you.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: I yelled at you for that. Cause I know you're lying. um

tommy cresta: I'm not lying.

Ryan: But um i I feel like if they get the heart in this show, then it could be good.

tommy cresta: Terrible relationship. Yeah, she's such terrible girlfriend. She cheats on her fiancé.

Ryan: But if they miss, because the the thing with The Office is that it is funny, but then the characters, and like when it gets serious, you actually do care.

tommy cresta: they miss because the the thing with the office is that it is funny but then the character' like get serious you yeah

Ryan: Like Jim and Pam, ah something I haven't watched The Office in a while.

tommy cresta: something i

Ryan: I watched it when I was in grade school.

tommy cresta: terrible relationship

Ryan: But keep the writing's pretty good.

tommy cresta: yeah but she's such a terrible girl

Ryan: you You care about the characters.

Ryan: She's okay.

tommy cresta: she cheats on her viance

Ryan: so everyone Yeah, but Roy had it coming.

tommy cresta: And she's just a terrible wife to Jim.

Ryan: And she's just terrible watching gym.

tommy cresta: No, she's not.

Ryan: She's not.

tommy cresta: She's so selfish.

Ryan: She's worse than she is. No, she...

tommy cresta: No, he No, he is not.

Ryan: Kind of. He keeps leaving her to go and, what, try to make, you know, try to be successful?

tommy cresta: keeps You're going, what? Trying to make... Trying to get a job. Yeah, and she's giving him a hard time about it.

Ryan: What an asshole.

tommy cresta: Well, she go to art school.

Ryan: but She couldn't go to art school.

Ryan: Who knows?

tommy cresta: Who knows?

Ryan: She could have been successful in that.

tommy cresta: have successful, man.

Ryan: You never know.

tommy cresta: She could have been.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: um

tommy cresta: That's I've always felt about it.

Ryan: Yeah, no, the paper is going to have to really get like you to care about the characters before it gets good.

tommy cresta: Yeah, no, the paper's gonna have to really get, like, you care about the characters before it gets good.

Ryan: Because if you don't care about the characters, it's not going work.

tommy cresta: if you don't care about the characters, it's not gonna work.

Ryan: It can be as funny as you want.

tommy cresta: can be as funny as you want, it's not gonna be super entertaining if you don't give a shit.

Ryan: It's not going to be super entertaining if you just don't give a shit. Because I don't think, I doubt it's going to be as funny as, you know.

tommy cresta: Because I don't think, I doubt it's gonna be as funny. Yeah, you also don't have Steve Carell and Ed Helms in this.

Ryan: you also

tommy cresta: Yeah, no.

Ryan: Yeah, no.

tommy cresta: And John Krasinski.

Ryan: And yeah, Damo Gleeson is a great actor, but he's I don't think he's done much comedy before.

tommy cresta: Yeah, Donald Gleeson's a great actor. I don't know how his comedic stuff is.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. But again, we could be wrong and this show could be a hit.

Ryan: ah yeah we could Yeah, that's true.

tommy cresta: Yeah, that's true.

Ryan: And again, like even The Office, like Steve Carell was not a fucking known guy.

tommy cresta: And again, like, Even The Office, Steve Perrell was not a fucking known guy.

Ryan: The same with Ed Helms wasn't.

tommy cresta: Yeah, just he he'd least just gotten denied from SNL when The Office came up.

Ryan: Yeah. Ed Helms wasn't huge. Like, you know.

tommy cresta: John Krasinski was not known at all.

Ryan: umzinski Yeah, nothing.

tommy cresta: Yeah, nothing. Frank Wilson.

Ryan: So the craziest thing is that um I think it's like season three of The Office.

tommy cresta: I think it's like season three of The Office. He's running away the whole time.

Ryan: He's wearing a wig the whole time.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, because he was...

Ryan: Because he was.

tommy cresta: I think the movie's called Leatherheads.

Ryan: I think the movie's called Leatherheads. It's like rugby movie, I think.

tommy cresta: Terrible movie. Lovey movie? Yep.

Ryan: Yeah. No, no.

tommy cresta: No, no, it's an NFL movie.

Ryan: was football movie. yeah is it

tommy cresta: It's with George Clooney. Is it? Yeah, I've seen it. It's terrible. But yeah, he had to cut his hair.

Ryan: yeah yeah he had shave his head yeah never know never notice but um yeah i mean the office if you look back and most of those people were not recognized big names i think this show if they can find diamonds in the rough like the office did then you know maybe it's gonna good i haven't

tommy cresta: It's a very good wig. Yeah, never know. You never know. Yeah, I mean, The Office, if you look back, most of those people were not recognized big names. I think this show, if they can find diamonds in the rough like The Office did, then maybe it's going to be Yeah, but it has to find those.

tommy cresta: Oh, yeah.

Ryan: Oh, yeah. i haven't I haven't lost hope.

tommy cresta: I haven't lost hope.

Ryan: This trailer just you know looked fine to me.

tommy cresta: This trailer just looked fine to me. Let's check it out.

Ryan: I might check it out. um think I don't think I have Peacock, though.

tommy cresta: I'll probably still watch it. I have PFAC. I do.

Ryan: Did you see what happened with Peacock?

tommy cresta: Did you see what happened with PECAC? No.

Ryan: I'm pretty sure it's Peacock.

tommy cresta: I'm pretty sure it's PECAC.

Ryan: Or no, Paramount, I think.

tommy cresta: Or no, Paramount, I think.

Ryan: They, one of those two, and I should double check to make sure, they bought um rights to the UFC fights.

tommy cresta: They, one of those two, and I should double check to make sure. They bought rights to UFC fights. Paramount.

Ryan: Paramount.

tommy cresta: Paramount, yeah.

Ryan: Paramount, $7.7 billion dollars for seven years.

tommy cresta: $7.5 billion for seven years.

Ryan: So no more pay-per-views.

tommy cresta: So, no more pay-per-views. Really?

Ryan: If you have a Paramount subscription, you watch UFC fights.

tommy cresta: If you have a Paramount subscription, you've watched it. have Paramount+. plus

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: So you're getting every UFC fight.

tommy cresta: So, you're getting every UFC fight. Oh.

Ryan: No pay-per-view.

tommy cresta: Yo, I'm charging a pay-per-view.

Ryan: Yeah. But people are saying, because then the announcement said that they're not adjusting prices at all.

tommy cresta: but people are saying because the the announcement said that they're not I don't believe

Ryan: But everybody else is like, they're going to do it slowly. Like, we don't know.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: does count netflix has i mean look netflix Is

Ryan: it come Yeah.

tommy cresta: and which doesn't sound a lot but i mean it's four dollars a

Ryan: I mean, Spotify. Yeah, everything is. And Spotify is going up, too.

tommy cresta: yeah

Ryan: Like, when I had Spotify Premium, I still do. It was like $10 when I first got it.

tommy cresta: and

Ryan: think it's like $13 now.

tommy cresta: is it

Ryan: I think it's somewhere up there.

tommy cresta: i don't even mine's just the

Ryan: Yeah, my subscription.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I haven't even paid attention to it.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Matt Smith has officially been cast as the villain in Star Wars Starfighter.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: it Seems like this movie might actually happen.

Ryan: Yeah. I wonder

tommy cresta: So far, we have Ryan Gosling, Mia Goth, and Matt Smith. Yeah.

Ryan: wonder if they're going to do any makeup for Matt Smith.

tommy cresta: Why they do any makeup for Matt Smith? Because he already looks like animal.

Ryan: Because he already looks like an alien. But...

tommy cresta: You're so mean to Matt Smith.

Ryan: I know.

tommy cresta: I love Matt Smith.

Ryan: So I.

tommy cresta: So do I.

Ryan: He's great actor.

tommy cresta: great actor. Best part of House of the Dragon.

Ryan: He is just... Yeah, he's just a weird looking dude. Respectfully.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Him and Patty Constantine.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Constantine. Constantine.

Ryan: Yeah. I think so.

tommy cresta: Best parts of that show.

Ryan: Yeah, they were great. Um...

tommy cresta: And what's her name, but she's not on anymore.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: yeah

Ryan: the

tommy cresta: I mean, both the girls that play Veneer are great.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Dude, season three better be fucking banger.

Ryan: Everybody's good in that show. Yeah, season two was so disappointing.

tommy cresta: yeah good season two so It was just disappointing because I really was like, oh, I know where this is ending.

Ryan: It was just disappointing. I really...

tommy cresta: And it did not end where I thought like it was.

Ryan: It just like wouldn't go. was... so like

tommy cresta: It's so funny because where I think halfway through the next season is, is where I think this season should end.

Ryan: and

tommy cresta: The past scene should have ended.

Ryan: Yeah. It was also short.

tommy cresta: It was also short cut to episode itself.

Ryan: They cut two episodes, so...

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Just stupid.

tommy cresta: Just stupid.

Ryan: But, um...

tommy cresta: yeah But hopefully, I think it's going to come back and be.

Ryan: hopefully Yeah, I think so.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I think so.

Ryan: It still wasn't bad.

tommy cresta: It still wasn't bad.

Ryan: It was just...

tommy cresta: It was just... Yeah, still great.

Ryan: Yeah, it's still great.

tommy cresta: the I mean, two of the episodes, I um remember both of us still being...

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Even the last episode, we were both like, should have went further, but the acting still phenomenal.

Ryan: Yeah,

Ryan: yeah it's still great. Very well-made show.

tommy cresta: very well ni Yeah, it's show.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, it just didn't go anywhere.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. And the last bit of news is, as we talked about before, Alien Earth. is that the first reviews for Alien Earth are in, which premieres tomorrow, August 12th.

Ryan: Sweet.

tommy cresta: ah All the critics agree that it's an atmospheric, slow-burn thriller that echoes the best of its franchise, currently sitting at a 93 on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.8 on 10 on IMDb.

Ryan: Yeah. sweet

tommy cresta: So currently sitting riding high with Alien Earth.

Ryan: i

tommy cresta: i I think...

Ryan: i think

tommy cresta: I don't think we're going to see a xenomorph in the first three episodes.

Ryan: don't think

Ryan: yeah it's i'm sure it's goingnna be slow

tommy cresta: Yeah, I'm it's going to I think we're gonna see something like a face hugger or one of the other creatures.

Ryan: anywhere yeah

tommy cresta: there might be like an opening scene Yeah, but like where like you don't see it, but you hear it.

Ryan: There might be like an opening scene with like an attack. sir you Yeah, maybe.

tommy cresta: Yeah, where it crashes.

Ryan: Or it's like, i don't know, the the spaceship that brings them to Earth.

tommy cresta: Alien Earth.

Ryan: like

tommy cresta: Or like the

Ryan: Yeah, you see them getting killed by Xenomorph, and they open it up, and they're like, why where did all these bodies come from?

tommy cresta: Yeah. Bug. I'm so excited. where all these bodies come from

Ryan: And then just jumps at the camera, and then title card.

tommy cresta: so yeah alien

Ryan: Alien Earth.

tommy cresta: or like the

Ryan: like

tommy cresta: now

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: bug

Ryan: Yeah, maybe.

tommy cresta: um so excited

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Does it come?

Ryan: Is it...

tommy cresta: Is it weekly?

Ryan: I assume so.

tommy cresta: assume so. Oh, Hulu.

Ryan: ah to

tommy cresta: Does Hulu do weekly? Yeah, they do weekly. The bear's weekly.

Ryan: Do they?

tommy cresta: Right?

Ryan: No, the bear.

tommy cresta: No, the bear, um...

Ryan: I think the bear is weekly.

tommy cresta: Always Sunny's weekly? bear's weekly, was.

Ryan: Maybe it was.

tommy cresta: Always Sunny's weekly? No, isn't the bear all once?

Ryan: No, isn't the bear all at once?

tommy cresta: Is it? Always Sunny's weekly?

Ryan: always

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah. I don't know.

tommy cresta: don't know.

Ryan: Maybe it's all once.

tommy cresta: Maybe it's all it's weekly, know.

Ryan: Maybe it's weekly. I don't know.

tommy cresta: look that up?

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah. I'll do the intro to the next part.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: ah So the next part is going to be a review of weapons. If you have not seen the film...

tommy cresta: you can go and come back when you watch it.

Ryan: That was

tommy cresta: Or you can listen to my quick little scores that so far it's currently saying who's in this film and our quick little synopsis, and then you can go if you want, and then just hear our quick little scores of it. ah Currently, Weapons is doing 95% critic score and an 87% audience score. Modern Tomatoes is a 7.9 out of 10 IMDb and 85% on Google.

Ryan: this so

tommy cresta: This film stars Julia Gardner as Justine, Josh Brolin as Archer, Alden Eckwright as Paul, Benedict Wong Andrew, Austin,

Ryan: i was

tommy cresta: Austin Abrams as James, Amy Madigan as Gladys, and Carrie Christopher as Alex. The synopsis of this film is when all but one children from the same classroom mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time the community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.

Ryan: seriously

Ryan: Nice.

tommy cresta: and

Ryan: Alien Earth releases on FX as well, so it's going to be Tuesdays at 8 p.m.

tommy cresta: 8pm. Okay. Fucka.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: 8 episodes...

Ryan: Eight episodes, Tuesdays at 8.

tommy cresta: One... One hours? One hours?

Ryan: I have to assume so.

tommy cresta: Please be one hour episodes. I don't want to wait.

Ryan: They have to be. Yeah.

tommy cresta: I really hope they're one hour. ah They have to.

Ryan: Yeah, maybe.

tommy cresta: Yeah, eight episodes. It's gotta be.

Ryan: Yeah, so we

tommy cresta: And it's not a multi-season. It's a limited series.

tommy cresta: so I'm assuming this ends with some connection to the first movie.

Ryan: got...

Ryan: some

tommy cresta: Because I think this is before Alien.

Ryan: yeah maybe

tommy cresta: Yeah, maybe.

Ryan: yeah so

tommy cresta: Yeah, so...

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Oh, maybe it's them sending the ship up. Like Ridley, Ridley ship up.

Ryan: Yeah, maybe.

tommy cresta: Yeah. It's gonna be cool.

Ryan: don't know. Yeah, so.

tommy cresta: Noah Hawley is just that dude.

Ryan: Mm-hmm.

tommy cresta: That dude knows how to make television.

Ryan: He's good.

tommy cresta: He's good. I mean, Fargo, banger.

Ryan: Did he?

tommy cresta: Yeah, he made the whole series.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: He's the showrunner.

Ryan: Nice.

tommy cresta: Let me go into my thing so I can write down our scores really quick.

Ryan: Yeah, so weapons.

tommy cresta: Weapons. Weapons.

Ryan: Weapons.

tommy cresta: What is your, I'll let you go first.

Ryan: What is your...

tommy cresta: what are you What are your initial thoughts, Ryan, that you want to share with everyone?

Ryan: I thought that it was very, very good.

tommy cresta: I thought it was very, very good.

Ryan: I thought all the acting was good.

tommy cresta: I thought all the acting was good.

Ryan: I loved how it was told in the semi-chronological order.

tommy cresta: I love how was told in the semi-chronological order. Yeah, like chapters?

Ryan: Yeah, because it's all it's all chapters about and you see each character's perspective, but I love how all of the chapters kind of end, they end and then ah the next chapter starts like halfway where the last chapter was and then goes halfway past where the last chapter ended.

tommy cresta: Yeah, because it's all chapters about you seeing each character's perspective, but I love how all of the chapters kind of end. They end, and then the next chapter starts like halfway where the last chapter was.

tommy cresta: It goes halfway past where the last chapter ends, and then it kind of

Ryan: And then it kind of like it's not, they don't all start from the same day.

tommy cresta: Like, it's not, they don't all start on the same day. So you don't always have to, like, refresh re-hash the same points.

Ryan: Yeah, it's yeah, I liked how they were told.

tommy cresta: I did like that. Yeah, I liked how they were told.

Ryan: so

tommy cresta: Because I was kind of, I was like, we going to have to see the same scenes over again?

Ryan: Yeah, which is kind of a pain in the ass sometimes.

tommy cresta: And it didn't. And it gave us different angles.

Ryan: Yeah, it was always something different and it was always something that kind of like revealed.

tommy cresta: It was always something different. It was always something that kind of revealed.

Ryan: It was a great order that they decided to, you know, that the stories told in.

tommy cresta: It was a great order that they decided to, you know, that the story's told in.

Ryan: um And then the the last chapter, which is Alex's chapter, you see, you know, the whole thing even from before um all the important stuff.

tommy cresta: And then the the last chapter, which is Alex's chapter, you see, you the whole thing from before. All the important stuff.

Ryan: So I thought the movie was very good.

tommy cresta: So I thought the movie was very good.

Ryan: i really liked it.

tommy cresta: really liked it. I'm trying to think what else.

Ryan: I'm trying to think what else. Everybody was good.

tommy cresta: Everybody was good. The performances were all great.

Ryan: The performances were all great. I like that none of the characters are totally good.

tommy cresta: I liked that none of the characters are totally good.

Ryan: Everybody's kind of an asshole.

tommy cresta: Everybody's kind of an asshole.

Ryan: You know what mean? For better, for worse, whether it's justified or not, nobody's a saint in this movie.

tommy cresta: For better for worse, whether it's justified or not, nobody's the same in this movie.

Ryan: Everybody has something you can look at to be like they're kind of a piece of shit.

tommy cresta: Everybody has something you can look at be like they're kind of piece shit. Except Alex.

Ryan: Yeah, except Alex.

tommy cresta: Yeah, except Alex.

Ryan: But he's, you know, he's a 10-year-old kid, so it's not...

tommy cresta: But he's 10 year That's what I'm saying.

Ryan: um But yeah, the Julia Gardner's character is, without spoilers, like she's, you can tell she wants the best, but then

tommy cresta: But yeah, the Gardner's character is, without spoilers, like, she's, you tell she wants the best, but. Oh no, she's just a piece of shit. She might be the worst person.

Ryan: she's up there, but like, I don't You can tell she wants the kids to be found.

tommy cresta: She's up there, but like, I don't she can tell she wants. Yeah, she wants to be, yeah, for the kids.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: I mean, but like.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: But again, like I said, she's kind of going about it wrong way.

Ryan: But again, like I said, she's kind of going about it the wrong way.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: She's not being helpful to other people.

tommy cresta: She's not being helpful to people, and when it's just,

Ryan: And then when it's just, you know, when she's at her house in her private time, she's kind of just destroying herself and a lot of the people around her um just bringing people down because she's not coping in very good ways.

tommy cresta: you know When she's at her house in her private time, she's kind of just destroying herself. just A lot of the people around her just bringing people down because she's not coping in very good ways.

Ryan: And then Josh Brolin's character, again, once the right and he wants the right thing.

tommy cresta: josh rowland's character And character, again, wants the right thing. He's trying to do the right thing, but just the way of doing it sometimes isn't healthy.

Ryan: He's trying to do the right thing, but just the way of doing it sometimes isn't healthy. And then, um what's his name?

tommy cresta: And then, what's his name?

Ryan: The cop.

tommy cresta: The cop. Paul. Paul, yeah.

Ryan: Yeah, he's.

tommy cresta: He...

Ryan: Oh, yeah, he tries to be good.

tommy cresta: the He tries to be good.

Ryan: He's trying to do the right thing, but then people around him kind of drag him down and some of his decisions drag himself down to he's kind of.

tommy cresta: He's trying to do the right thing. Then people around him kind of drag him down. And some of his decisions drag himself down too. He's kind of...

Ryan: He's not a very level headed person, which is, it's, you know, has some fun moments with that, but also things that just destroy him.

tommy cresta: He's not a very level-headed person. Nope. He has some fun moments with that, but also things that just destroy him.

Ryan: And then um you get, what's his name?

tommy cresta: And then you get... What's his name?

Ryan: The homeless dude, James, one of the better characters.

tommy cresta: The homeless dude. James. James. Best character in the movie.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, one of the better characters in the movie.

Ryan: One of the better characters the movies. But again,

tommy cresta: But again, I mean, his only downside is that he's just an addict.

Ryan: i mean

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah. It's not like he's trying to be bad. He's just trying

Ryan: Yeah. But he's, I mean, even when he's, you know, he's trying to find the kids, like he's not doing it for the kids.

tommy cresta: But he's, I mean, even when he's, you know, he's trying to find the kids. Like, he's it for the kids.

Ryan: He's doing it for the reward.

tommy cresta: No, he's doing it for the money.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: And then he gets fucked over and then you get Alex's story and Alex is just having a tough time.

tommy cresta: And then he gets fucked over and then, uh, you Alex's story and Alex is just a. Kid. He's having tough time. Yeah. And Gladys is just evil.

Ryan: um Yeah. Oh, and I missed the, what's it, is it Benedict Wong?

tommy cresta: Oh, and I missed, you know, what's his name? Is it Benedict Wong?

Ryan: Is that his name?

tommy cresta: Is that his name? Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Uh, Andrew.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: Missed his story.

tommy cresta: He was a good person.

Ryan: He was a good person.

tommy cresta: he He didn't do anything wrong. Yeah, he did not.

Ryan: Yeah. He did nothing. He just, know, unfortunate.

tommy cresta: Unfortunately.

Ryan: um But yeah.

tommy cresta: His husband was actually too nice.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: his husband was a little more like a normal person and was like, no, it would be fine.

Ryan: Yeah.

Ryan: No, you're not, not happening.

tommy cresta: That happened. Don't come to my house. Yeah, but I really liked the movie.

Ryan: Yeah, but I really liked the movie. I think it lived up.

tommy cresta: I think it looked up.

Ryan: There were only a couple points where it was like a little slow, but then things picked up immediately.

tommy cresta: There were only a couple points where it was like a little slow, then things picked up immediately.

Ryan: It felt like every scene was important.

tommy cresta: It felt like every scene was important.

Ryan: Every scene had like a point to it.

tommy cresta: Every scene had like point to it like it was it was good think the only thing i didn't love which getting out spoilers was the the shot with the air the dream i i still have no idea what that meant i don't understand i'll talk about word spoilers but like i thought it was gonna mean but it just didn't mean anything so i was kind of confused by that but it just looked very no it wasn't sequence but it still felt real yeah

Ryan: Like it was it was good. I think the only thing I didn't love, which getting out of spoilers, was the the shot with the AR-15, the dream. still felt like it.

Ryan: I don't understand it because I'll talk about it more in the spoilers. What like, you know, I thought it was going to mean, but then it just didn't mean anything. So I was kind of confused by that, but it just looked very out of place, even though it was a dream sequence, but it still felt real and like grounded.

Ryan: But yeah, I don't know.

tommy cresta: I thought it was going say he was like in the military and had some issues.

Ryan: um But yeah, what did you think?

tommy cresta: But, yeah, did you think? So I went into this, I think people know this, I went into this with much, much lower expectations.

Ryan: so i

Ryan: because outfit is not a good thing.

tommy cresta: Just because of how I feel about Barbarian. I think Zach Kroger is very talented in what he does with film.

Ryan: I think that I'm very comfortable looking at the film.

tommy cresta: i I get what Barbarian is and I get that it's very well made and stuff. It's just not a movie that I like. So I went into this.

Ryan: I so I wouldn't expect me walk out and get sick.

tommy cresta: expecting to walk out thinking this movie was going to 50, it going to 60, like very low.

Ryan: But I don't know if didn't know if I was going to play it.

tommy cresta: i didn't think I was going like it.

Ryan: And I walked out extremely surprised when I thought I did it.

tommy cresta: And I walked out extremely surprised. I liked it way more than i thought I did. i still don't like it as much as I think the Rotten Tomatoes people like it, but I like it definitely way more than I thought I was going to.

Ryan: still don't like it as much as I was going to play it. But I like as a point. way more high-five years.

tommy cresta: I think all the performances were really good.

Ryan: I think all the characters are really good.

tommy cresta: I think the standouts for me were Amy Madigan as Gladys, Austin Abrams as James, and probably

Ryan: I think the standout team are even mad at the Gladys, Austin, you know, James, like, it's all the same.

tommy cresta: It's all the side characters from Eric and the little kids, Alex, Carrie Christopher.

Ryan: And the look is Alex.

tommy cresta: Not that Julia, Julia a Garner, Jasper on that great bad.

Ryan: Not that Julia, you know, but I think those side-fathers are so good in the world.

tommy cresta: just think those side characters were so good in their roles.

Ryan: And I think it's really good.

tommy cresta: And I think the story is good. I like how creepy it gets and it actually delivers on some scares throughout the movie.

Ryan: I like how he gets the act of the way from the stairs up to me.

tommy cresta: Again, ah of course, I want to be more scared, but it definitely, there are scenes that stuck with me, like I thought about later on.

Ryan: Yeah. Super creepy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Ryan: scene

tommy cresta: There's a scene specifically outside of the house at pretty early on that was just creepy.

Ryan: yeah

Ryan: um creepy it was

tommy cresta: and And they go back to it a little bit later on.

Ryan: little <unk>t

tommy cresta: doesn't deliver the same kind of creep to it because kind of know more what's going to happen. yeah

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: But the first time, it delivers.

Ryan: the first

tommy cresta: And it is weird and it's creepy and it's really cool.

Ryan: yeah weird the Yeah. This movie, the the scares are much more like suspense and like just like...

tommy cresta: This movie, the scares are much more like suspense. Yeah. Just like...

Ryan: um Yeah, it's suspenseful.

tommy cresta: Yeah, suspenseful. That's what I'm trying to think of.

Ryan: What's the word I'm trying to think of? I don't know.

tommy cresta: Like... I don't It's not...

Ryan: There's a couple like jump scares and like payoffs like that.

tommy cresta: There's a couple, like, jump scares. Like... Yeah, but a lot of them are just slow burn.

Ryan: A lot of them are very slow.

tommy cresta: them built up.

Ryan: Yeah, it's just built up.

tommy cresta: Just built up. Definitely a couple of good jump scares, though.

Ryan: Yeah, I mean, the one guy, you, real good.

tommy cresta: Yeah. mean, the one got you. Real good. The ceiling.

Ryan: The ceiling.

tommy cresta: Fuck, yeah.

Ryan: Fuck yeah.

tommy cresta: Why?

Ryan: And the one

tommy cresta: And the one with Josh Brolin got me.

Ryan: Oh, yeah, in the bed.

tommy cresta: Oh, yeah. In the dream. Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah, okay. Yeah.

tommy cresta: The best scare, though, is one that happens to James when he's in the woods and he hears the girl laughing.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. one

Ryan: when what here's

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: i thought

tommy cresta: I thought about that the next day. i was, what was I doing?

Ryan: oh i' driving

tommy cresta: Oh, I was driving back to my house. and you know how it's the woods where I stepped in the beehive? I thought about it and I was like, fuck that.

Ryan: and really

tommy cresta: I just kept driving. was like, don't even look.

Ryan: yeah dont yeah

tommy cresta: But yeah, there so this movie does deliver for me on that part.

Ryan: yeah this

tommy cresta: So I was very happy and I thought Zach Craig really amped it up in this movie.

Ryan: very

Ryan: really

tommy cresta: And I think everything I had issue with in Barbarian, he improved on, so.

Ryan: I really, I really walked out and I was very surprised how much it was.

tommy cresta: i really I really walked of this very surprised with how much I enjoyed it.

Ryan: And I don't know much it was coming from the end.

tommy cresta: And I only had, I think my biggest problem is just the end.

Ryan: I just didn't it.

tommy cresta: I just didn't like it.

Ryan: Yeah, I figured.

tommy cresta: yeah Not didn't like it.

Ryan: It wasn't

tommy cresta: I just, I thought it was, it went like one step too far.

Ryan: I thought it was. It went once and then before.

tommy cresta: yeah and i know as soon as

Ryan: Yeah, and I know as soon as it started, i was like, nah, Tommy's not going to like this.

tommy cresta: started i was like And I liked everything leading up to that.

Ryan: like it.

tommy cresta: like

Ryan: Like when we're getting up.

tommy cresta: Like we' the scene where James keeps getting up.

Ryan: Yeah. All of us.

tommy cresta: All in on that. That stuff was all cool.

Ryan: That's a lot. Mm-hmm.

tommy cresta: You know exactly what I mean.

Ryan: no

tommy cresta: There's one, it takes... Something starts, and from then on out.

Ryan: something Yeah. why

tommy cresta: Well, no, i like I like the little dialogue that they give at the end.

Ryan: Yeah. just that

tommy cresta: It's just that like little sequence. Yeah, I know.

Ryan: Yeah. I know what you mean. I know exactly what you're talking about.

tommy cresta: I know exactly what you're talking about.

Ryan: so I was, I was literally watching it.

tommy cresta: I was literally watching I'm fan.

Ryan: Like I'm enjoying this. Tommy's not. Yeah.

tommy cresta: is not. Yeah. But again, I have my things.

Ryan: yeah much It's fun.

tommy cresta: It's fun. That's not true. Exactly true.

Ryan: Exactly true. like

tommy cresta: I like Tabby Gilmore, too. keep telling people I didn't like the movie. I gave the same score as you.

Ryan: Look at crotchety old man.

tommy cresta: crashed. I gave it the same score.

Ryan: yeah

Ryan: Kids.

tommy cresta: You're the one that hates on fun movies like Daredevil.

Ryan: These damn kids.

Ryan: You hate on Batman and Robin.

tommy cresta: You mean on Batman and Robin?

Ryan: movie.

tommy cresta: It's not fun.

Ryan: was thinking like 88, 89.

tommy cresta: Okay.

Ryan: All right, it's fun.

tommy cresta: what would you what What's your score for weapons? I was going 80.

Ryan: eighty nine

tommy cresta: 89. 89. Yeah, we'll go 89. Do you want to go 88?

Ryan: that's fun

tommy cresta: No, 89 is good.

Ryan: No, 89 is good. It was a good movie.

tommy cresta: It's a good movie.

Ryan: It was very good movie.

tommy cresta: A very good movie. It was a good movie.

Ryan: Yeah. Even Nate and Puff liked it.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Even Nate Puff liked Well, Nate liked it.

Ryan: Well, Nate liked it. Puff liked as much as that he saw.

tommy cresta: Puff was asleep. Yeah. Every once in a while, he was snoring.

Ryan: Yeah. use every once Every once in a while, he would snore.

tommy cresta: And I just looked over and Nate knew it.

Ryan: And I'd just look over at Nate, he would be like, yo, get up.

tommy cresta: You know.

Ryan: We also saw it at 1030.

tommy cresta: I also saw it at 10.30.

Ryan: So. Yeah.

tommy cresta: That is true.

Ryan: Which health?

tommy cresta: We did go late.

Ryan: Yeah. 85.

tommy cresta: But which helped because I was driving home from the shore.

Ryan: That's so weird.

tommy cresta: Yeah. I'm going to go 85. 85.

Ryan: eighty five so

tommy cresta: I still really like the movie.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: 85 is a good score.

Ryan: It's great score.

tommy cresta: It's a great score. It's not great score.

Ryan: It's a pretty damn good score.

tommy cresta: It's a damn good score. It's a good score.

Ryan: It's a good score.

tommy cresta: It's a very good score. It's good score. Yeah.

Ryan: You're the one who's like, oh, yeah, it's a 72.

tommy cresta: You're the one who's like, oh yeah, it's a 72.

Ryan: That's still a good score.

tommy cresta: That's still good score.

Ryan: It's passing.

tommy cresta: That's what I'm saying. It's an 80. But said it's a great score. It's not great score. 88 and up's a great score.

Ryan: I think like 85 to 90 is a great score.

tommy cresta: I think 85. 85 to 87. Great score.

Ryan: And then like 90s like fucking excellent score.

tommy cresta: And then like 90s are like fucking excellent. Oh, see like 88 like 91 is like kind of getting the same to me. Okay.

Ryan: Okay.

tommy cresta: But then like above.

Ryan: See, that's that's fair.

tommy cresta: That's fair.

Ryan: That's understandable.

tommy cresta: That's what I'm saying.

Ryan: But then you got like, don't know, 92 to 95.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Yeah. Above that, you're like getting into like best movies.

Ryan: They're like, whoa. And yeah, 96. Yeah, I

tommy cresta: Like, we haven't had any... I had Warfare, but you didn't even give Warfare a score. Yeah.

Ryan: didn't want to. but

tommy cresta: You just put dot, dot, dot.

Ryan: I just put nice.

tommy cresta: Thumbs

Ryan: Thumbs up in a camo glove.

tommy cresta: up. Because this is better than Naked Gun. i couldn't I couldn't put this below Naked Gun, in good conscience.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Naked Gun got an 84.

Ryan: My parents saw naked gun last night.

tommy cresta: That movie's so funny.

Ryan: It sounds like my dad thought it was funny.

tommy cresta: It sounds like my thought it was funny, my mom was like, it was funny, was a little stupid.

Ryan: My mom was like, was funny. It was a little stupid.

tommy cresta: And was like, yeah, the whole point.

Ryan: And was like, yes, the whole point.

tommy cresta: I'm telling you, Puff and Nate will love the naked gun.

Ryan: yeah I'm sure they will.

tommy cresta: that

Ryan: We won lot.

tommy cresta: We will love the naked gun.

Ryan: But yeah, no.

tommy cresta: I loved it.

Ryan: I think

tommy cresta: um But yeah, no.

Ryan: it's something stupid about keeping me extremely in wanting to know what was going on.

tommy cresta: i I think weapons did a really good job of keeping me extremely interested in wanting to know what the what was going on in the situation. Like, who was at fault.

Ryan: was Yeah. i want Mystery.

tommy cresta: And I wasn't expecting what it was.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: I mean, it it holds its cards like close to the chest.

tommy cresta: You find things out when they want to.

Ryan: You don't, you find things out when they want you to find things out.

tommy cresta: i yeah you find things out when they

Ryan: There's no like holes you can kind of look through and be like, Oh, I think I figured it out.

tommy cresta: there's no like whole I think i figured it out.

Ryan: You have no idea until it comes.

tommy cresta: You have no idea. No idea. Until it comes. and And that's not to say it's like a surprise or like of left field.

Ryan: And that's not to say it's like a surprise or like a out of left field. Like that doesn't make sense.

tommy cresta: Like that doesn't make sense.

Ryan: Everything makes sense.

tommy cresta: Everything makes Oh yeah, no, they, they, they show you what's going to happen when it happens.

Ryan: Yeah. They just, hear yeah.

tommy cresta: Like they just build up the history very, very well.

Ryan: They just build up the mystery very, very well. That was done. Great.

tommy cresta: Yeah. The Bandic Wong scene when he first appears, like when things go wrong, that was creepy as shit.

Ryan: I feel like day before we saw this cause I hadn't seen it yet just wanted watch the Zach Greger movies last movie.

tommy cresta: Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Like Barbarian didn't have any of that for me. Like there was not one scene where like, Like, it was little eerie at first when Bill Skarsgård was around, but after that, I didn't feel any tension.

Ryan: Um,

tommy cresta: I feel like that first, because watched Barbarian day before we saw this, because hadn't seen yet, just wanted the exact idea of what we saw.

Ryan: feel like that first because i watched barbarian the day before we saw this because i hadn't seen yet and just wanted to watch the zach kraor movies last movie um I feel like I liked it more than you, but I also knew going into it that there were a lot of people who didn't like it.

tommy cresta: I feel like I liked it more than you, but I also knew knowing that there were a lot people who could get in the market, lot people loved it.

Ryan: a lot of people who loved it.

tommy cresta: And you also knew, like, how I ended up.

Ryan: I knew the general story. Yeah, I knew.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I know, yeah.

Ryan: Yeah. I also knew it was coming, but I felt like the best jump scare in that like was um right before she kills Skarsgård when like she turns the phone flashlight up and it's just behind him and grabs Skarsgård.

tommy cresta: also knew it was coming, but I felt like that's jump-scaring, that, john like, was, um, right before she kills Skarsgård, when he turns the phone flash on.

tommy cresta: Oh, and smashes head.

Ryan: Yeah, that was good.

tommy cresta: Yeah, yeah.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. but that

tommy cresta: But that's what saying. After he's gone, there's...

Ryan: Yeah, after that.

tommy cresta: After that, also kind respect that because a lot of monster movies will try to hold on to that, like, that scare of seeing the monster for the first time, whereas Barbarian like, yeah, people have already seen it.

Ryan: But I also kind of respect that because a I feel like a lot of monster movies will try to hold on to that, like that scare of seeing the monster for the first time. Whereas Barbarian was like, yeah, people have already seen it.

Ryan: We got the one scare out of the way.

tommy cresta: We got the one scare. Now let's, you know, just show the monster for what it is.

Ryan: Now let's, you know, just show the monster for what it is.

tommy cresta: Because that is annoying when movies have a monster that looks scary, and then they reveal it for first time.

Ryan: Because that is annoying when movies have a monster that looks scary, and then they reveal it for the first time, and it's scary.

tommy cresta: It's scary.

Ryan: And then they just keep trying to bank on that same scare of like revealing it in the dark.

tommy cresta: And then they keep trying to bank on that same scare. Yeah.

Ryan: I respected Barbarian for just being like, alright, we did the reveal scare, let's just show it from now on.

tommy cresta: I respected Barbarian for just being like, alright, we did the reveal scare. Barbarian's monster wasn't scary.

Ryan: It was creepy looking.

tommy cresta: was creepy.

Ryan: and

tommy cresta: It was freaky.

Ryan: It was freaky looking. Yeah. so

tommy cresta: Dumbass line.

Ryan: It was a fucking generational incest baby.

tommy cresta: hate that movie. I could also hate it because drove New York and

Ryan: It's not okay. I hate

tommy cresta: i hate

Ryan: i

tommy cresta: that movie

Ryan: I know. i don like

tommy cresta: i i could also hate it because i drove to new york and

Ryan: Yeah, you had a bad time.

tommy cresta: Yeah, you had bad time. Bad time.

Ryan: Crashed Connor's car on the way back.

tommy cresta: I did not crash. Someone left a carpet in the middle of the highway.

Ryan: you know

tommy cresta: was my fault.

Ryan: some yeah um

tommy cresta: But yeah, I couldn't answer you what the gun meant.

Ryan: i

tommy cresta: The AR.

Ryan: I mean, i feel like...

tommy cresta: mean, I feel like...

Ryan: Alright, we're going to spoilers now.

tommy cresta: we go Yeah, I mean, while you were doing that, know listening to me or when you were on your phone, I gave to, like, the whole, like, you haven't seen it.

Ryan: Spoilers. you

Ryan: Yeah, you gave... you did? ah you did

tommy cresta: Because this movie's really hard to do, like, the... Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah, I mean, the mystery stuff, it's just kind of the whole thing, which, again, was done great.

tommy cresta: I agree.

Ryan: I think the...

tommy cresta: I think the... Was done. um I agree. I think the movie...

Ryan: Yeah, you're really trying to figure it out.

tommy cresta: He's really trying to figure it out.

Ryan: um

tommy cresta: Zack Krayger.

Ryan: Well done.

tommy cresta: Well done. Working on... you see he wrote a DCU script?

Ryan: He did?

tommy cresta: He did. A henchman movie.

Ryan: and

tommy cresta: for joke A Joker and Harley Quinn henchman movie.

Ryan: the

tommy cresta: So he said it was written before this was done.

Ryan: he Shit.

tommy cresta: But then the whole thing with James Gunn all happened.

Ryan: and Yeah, you probably just...

tommy cresta: And he's like, now he actually wants to like...

Ryan: Yeah, go ahead and do it.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Ship it. That would pretty cool.

Ryan: um Yeah, that'd be cool.

tommy cresta: Yeah, that would cool.

Ryan: um I think the the weapon was just...

tommy cresta: Batman. think the weapon was just...

Ryan: I feel like...

tommy cresta: I feel like, this movie's called Weapons, and I think that at the end, it's that, like, the kids become the weapons against Gladys and against the witch, and that's kind of like the...

Ryan: Because movie's called Weapons. And I think that at the end, it's that like the kids become the weapons against Gladys and against the witch. And that's kind of like the on-the-nose...

tommy cresta: Yeah, the kids are the... Like, everyone's a weapon.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: That's like the whole...

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Gladys can make whoever a weapon.

Ryan: Gladys can make whoever a weapon. So I think it was just the weapon...

tommy cresta: So I think it was just the weapon, the gun being a weapon in himself and a weapon that everybody recognizes.

Ryan: The gun being a weapon in and of itself and a weapon that everybody recognizes. and then having the 217...

tommy cresta: And having the.217... Oh, was saying that, like...

Ryan: It was saying like, yeah, that that time triggered the weapons.

tommy cresta: He was saying, like... Triggered the weapon? Yeah, that time triggered the weapon.

Ryan: I guess it's something like that.

tommy cresta: I guess it's something like

Ryan: But it's still, i don't know.

tommy cresta: i didn't think about that.

Ryan: I thought it looked kind of odd.

tommy cresta: I thought it looked kind of It looked a goofy to me.

Ryan: Yeah, it was just kind of out a place for a movie that's so like real and grounded.

tommy cresta: Yeah, it was just kind of out of place. Yeah.

Ryan: And then you kind of get, it is a dream sequence, so you can throw whatever the fuck in there.

tommy cresta: I agree. It is a dream sequence, so you can throw whatever in there.

Ryan: But it was just like, yeah, it was the one thing in the movie I was like, that's weird.

tommy cresta: It just seemed a little too far. It was the one thing in the movie. I was like, that's weird.

Ryan: But...

tommy cresta: That's how I felt about the kid chasing. like It felt like the way she would look back and be like, ah!

Ryan: felt like the way she like

tommy cresta: It just felt like a little over.

Ryan: just really I don't disagree with you.

tommy cresta: don't disagree.

Ryan: I felt that too, but.

tommy cresta: I thought that too. Because the idea of the kids chasing you and being like feral is a scary thought.

Ryan: i

Ryan: Yeah. it was telling

tommy cresta: It was kind of like how they were chasing her.

Ryan: ah the Yeah.

tommy cresta: yeah It seemed like it went like... he went Yeah.

Ryan: It went on for too long. Yeah.

tommy cresta: if she' gotten like just out of the house

Ryan: If she had gotten like just out of the house or maybe like to the neighbor's yard.

tommy cresta: I thought that's what it was going to be. The kids are destroying homes.

Ryan: Yeah. She runs like three. I mean, she's smashing through windows and going through.

tommy cresta: See, that didn't get laugh out me. She was scary. destroying homes which was

Ryan: Which was funny. I like that.

tommy cresta: i like that

Ryan: When the kids are like, when the kids trying to climb the fence and then just drops and they're stepping over each other.

tommy cresta: when the kids are like the kids trying to climb the fence then to drop see that would see that didn't get a laugh out of me i like

Ryan: That one was funny. I like that. But i also, I felt like it was like, you know, you build up this scary character for the whole movie or like the second half when you actually see her and she's so evil and wicked and you're just counting the whole time like, please kill this bitch.

tommy cresta: but also i felt like he was like you know you build up home like she was scary And she's so evil and wicked. You're just counting the whole time.

tommy cresta: Please kill this bitch.

Ryan: And then i feel like...

tommy cresta: And then... Kill... what The payoff was good.

Ryan: The payoff was good, yeah.

tommy cresta: payoff was good. When they, like, ripped her apart, that worked for me.

Ryan: yeah That was great.

tommy cresta: That was great.

Ryan: That was fun to watch.

tommy cresta: That was fun to watch.

Ryan: But I feel like it was just the, um like, you're so angry at the whole movie, and you're so like frustrated with trying to figure it out and watching these asshole characters.

tommy cresta: But I feel like it was just the, um... Like... You're so angry the whole movie and you're so, like, frustrated and trying to figure it out watching these asshole characters. So that they're, like, here...

Ryan: They're just like, just feel better.

tommy cresta: like, just feel better.

Ryan: You know, just put in this fun scene at the end.

tommy cresta: You know? Just put in this one. and Dude, the the, like, speech at the end did make me laugh.

Ryan: Mm-hmm. They make it a night out.

tommy cresta: That was good. they Some of the kids even learned got even spoke again this year.

Ryan: They use something like Ethan's phone.

tommy cresta: yes Yeah, see, don't think that was a joke, but I know why.

Ryan: Yeah, see, I don't think that was a joke, but I know why you're laughing at it.

tommy cresta: No, but the way that the girl delivers it comes off as like, she's trying to make it like, but see, look.

Ryan: Yeah, I know. No, yeah. <unk>s trying to make it like Yeah, it does sound like a little kid, like, not understanding that it's super serious and trying to make it like, this is better, right?

tommy cresta: he does selling a little kid like Yes. But it seemed like Zach Kragger's sense of humor is he's like.

Ryan: Yeah, he's a dark guy. Yeah. Which I did, like, at the end of Barbarian, too.

tommy cresta: which i did like at the end No, they definitely meant it as a joke. Because the other lines like.

Ryan: the other one

tommy cresta: The parents get fed by spoons to get fed.

Ryan: hair ski Yeah, somebody else is feeding them soup now.

tommy cresta: so It was down. Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah. No, I mean, that it was kind of joking.

tommy cresta: Other aunt raises him now.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, Zach Craig. Good dude. Funny dude.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Love to have him on the show.

Ryan: love Yeah. um

tommy cresta: want to ask him more. would like to talk to Zach Craig. I'm

Ryan: Just pick his brain. Like, what what is wrong with you? i'm like

tommy cresta: like, why the naked woman?

Ryan: Well, both my parents were alcoholics growing up and that kind of...

tommy cresta: in all my parents This makes sense.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Did your mom walk around naked?

Ryan: That is...

tommy cresta: Oh, is that true?

Ryan: that true? No, yeah.

tommy cresta: No. Yeah.

Ryan: That's why he...

tommy cresta: That's why me.

Ryan: ah He was saying...

tommy cresta: That makes me feel horrible now.

Ryan: No, I mean, it's just he talked about a bunch of interviews.

tommy cresta: No, it's just, he talked about a bunch of interviews.

Ryan: He said, um I think the general idea with weapons was that Gladys was kind of like the stand in for the alcohol.

tommy cresta: He said, I think the general idea with weapons was that Gladys was kind of like the stand-in for the alcohol.

Ryan: And then the part with like Alex's story, which is kind of.

tommy cresta: And then the part with Alex's story, which was kind of... Oh, they're like they're not doing anything and stuff like that?

Ryan: all the like there Yeah, that it's like there's this thing controlling his parents and making it hard for him to live.

tommy cresta: Yeah, and it's like there's this thing controlling his parents and making it hard for him to live.

Ryan: And he has to kind of like step up in certain ways was kind of a metaphor for his parents, you know, the things that he experienced in his young life.

tommy cresta: he has to kind like step up and circle It's kind of a metaphor for his parents. You know, the things that he's in his young life.

Ryan: So that's what I've seen.

tommy cresta: Oh, wow. what I was thinking. That's really cool.

Ryan: thats really Yeah, because i saw I saw a couple interviews like that, and then and know you're not going to know who i'm talking about, but Ryan Hollinger on YouTube, great horror YouTuber, just does like breakdowns of horror movies.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Because I saw couple interviews like that, and then... know you're not going to know what talking about, Ryan Holland, you're YouTube, great horror YouTuber. Just does, like, breakdowns on horror movies. I watched it.

Ryan: I watched it after I watched my films.

tommy cresta: It's just crazy. I know, but it's so crazy that you watch all these horror breakdowns for...

Ryan: break down

tommy cresta: You have really shifted on the horror things. Oh, yeah.

Ryan: Oh, yeah.

tommy cresta: But even before you watched horror, you still watched, like, horror breakdowns.

Ryan: yeah Yeah, I did.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I did.

Ryan: Because I always found that interesting.

tommy cresta: Because I always found it interesting.

Ryan: Because I always found like horror movies, I feel like when you look into it in the more like metaphorical sense, have some of the most metaphors and things to break down in them.

tommy cresta: I always found, like, horror movies, I feel like, when you look into it in a more, like, metaphorical sense... so metaphors and things to break down in them.

Ryan: But you know just shown in this package of like scares and entertainment.

tommy cresta: But, you know, just showing this package of scares and entertainment.

Ryan: So I always found those videos pretty interesting.

tommy cresta: So, i always found those videos was pretty interesting.

Ryan: But Ryan Hollinger is pretty good...

tommy cresta: But Ryan Hollweg is pretty good, seemingly cool guy.

Ryan: Seemingly cool guy. I think he interviewed...

tommy cresta: I think he interviewed, what was the last, I forget.

Ryan: What was the last... I forget. He interviewed somebody big and it was was cool.

tommy cresta: He interviewed somebody big and it was cool. But he did a breakdown on weapons, like the dares of effort came out.

Ryan: But he did a breakdown on weapons like a day or two after he came out. Which he never does.

tommy cresta: Which he never does.

Ryan: He always like sits on them, but he was like, I like this movie a lot and I really want to talk about it.

tommy cresta: He always like sits on them. He was like, I like this movie a lot. Yeah, weapons, I mean, I'm fully,

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: i I was someone... I didn't put it on any of my most anticipated movies list.

Ryan: includ

tommy cresta: I was very hesitant just because of my reaction to Barbarian.

Ryan: very

tommy cresta: I was wrong. i was and I'm very happy to say I was wrong.

Ryan: very

tommy cresta: that

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: that it was so I think it was really good. i mean It's going to be really hard for this movie to get knocked off my top 10, I

Ryan: be really hard

Ryan: It was good. it has Yeah.

tommy cresta: It's been one of those years for movies where I feel like it hasn't been a bad year, but it's been a very mediocre year.

Ryan: Yeah. None of the top tens are going to be like, it's going to be a lot of like good movies, but I feel like nothing's been like fantastic.

tommy cresta: It's going to be a lot of... like good movies, but i feel nothing like half.

Ryan: Like a clear one.

tommy cresta: Like, Warfare's been the only war movie, because I, don't get me wrong about Sinners, Sinners are still really good.

Ryan: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah. email

tommy cresta: But even after my rewatch of Sinners, I found more things I was like, oh, like that felt like it was a little bit too long.

Ryan: that

tommy cresta: like

Ryan: yeah warfre

tommy cresta: Warfare I've seen three times and every time, like, that's such like a, Jesus Christ, fuck.

Ryan: ah

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: And, my dad, I'm shocked that my dad hasn't watched Warfare yet.

Ryan: and but that

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: It's just a good movie.

tommy cresta: Um, but yeah, Ryan Hollinger on YouTube.

Ryan: But yeah, Ryan Hollinger on YouTube. check I mean, he's got millions of subscribers.

tommy cresta: I mean,

Ryan: oh we don't We don't have to shout him out.

tommy cresta: Oh, really? I've never even heard. i don't watch, which is so crazy because how much I watch horror movies and stuff.

Ryan: don't so great Yeah, you don't really watch.

tommy cresta: I don't watch any horror breakdowns.

Ryan: you don't i feel like you don't watch a lot of movie like movie breakdowns. like I like those YouTube videos.

tommy cresta: I don't.

Ryan: i read them

tommy cresta: I read about them. um he's got seven so but that's no I watch like cinematography videos where it's like best of like this color palette.

Ryan: Oh, he's got 760,000 subscribers. Still great, but not millions. But um that's no disrespect. that I said millions. He doesn't have millions. um and watch like yeah i like to Yeah, I like the story breakdowns.

tommy cresta: I like those videos.

Ryan: And he's also got a really funny Irish accent.

tommy cresta: Oh, he does?

Ryan: He's like, hoi ever.

tommy cresta: ah we does That was a pretty good accent.

Ryan: When this happens, it's so funny. And all the comments, dude, half of the comments will be like, the first hoi ever is at 20 seconds.

tommy cresta: the first boy ever is that twenty But yeah, this was...

Ryan: They just fuck with him about it. It's hilarious.

tommy cresta: I like the whole idea of how they have to...

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Oh, like how we talked about it together.

Ryan: oh like how we

tommy cresta: We were like, I wish we knew more.

Ryan: a

tommy cresta: This movie really shows you how the whole ritual works.

Ryan: this movie really those you have yeah something from

tommy cresta: Like you need something from the people.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: You need the blood.

Ryan: blind

tommy cresta: you need to prick your finger. need to wrap it around.

Ryan: brown

tommy cresta: need draw the blood across the stick. But yeah, and then you have to snap it.

Ryan: yeah in the

tommy cresta: And it really showed that.

Ryan: really so

tommy cresta: And so you fully understood how it works.

Ryan: yeah honest yeah

tommy cresta: So i was i was all in on it. It was cool to see how the people really can't die either.

Ryan: supposed say

tommy cresta: Like but get like knocked out or anything.

Ryan: yeah like yeah

tommy cresta: Like you really have to like kill them.

Ryan: Yeah, it's just like full adrenaline the whole time.

tommy cresta: Yeah, it's just like full adrenaline.

Ryan: You got you have to kill them.

tommy cresta: Yeah, like you got to shoot them the brain. That's how you have to kill them.

Ryan: Yeah, they don't stop.

tommy cresta: Yeah, they don't stop.

Ryan: um But I also like, to your point of like, you see how everything works.

tommy cresta: But also like your point. Like you see how everything works.

Ryan: You never see it without the main...

tommy cresta: You never see it without the main – whoever's chapter it is, it's always through their eyes.

Ryan: Whoever's chapter it is, it's always through their eyes. There's never like a scene with just Gladys in a room where you just like reveal the whole thing.

tommy cresta: There's never like a scene with Gladys in a room where you just like reveal whole thing.

Ryan: It's always...

tommy cresta: always – Oh, yeah.

Ryan: um oh yeah

tommy cresta: It's Ben and Gwang's – Andrew watching.

Ryan: Ben Jones' character sees it, Alex watches it and that's how he learns how to do it, which is important for how he you know saves save the day, you know, six the kids on her and kind of...

tommy cresta: Alex watches it and that's how he runs He's got to do it. He's important for how he saves the day. He sticks the kids on her. Alex is a brave dude. Brave kid.

Ryan: Yeah. right Super brave kid.

tommy cresta: Super brave kid.

Ryan: Yeah, but I like that where it's it's not like there's never a shot of just like revealing how it works.

tommy cresta: Yeah, but like that where it's not like there's never a shot of revealing how it works.

Ryan: It's always through the characters.

tommy cresta: always through the character's eye.

Ryan: Every chapter is genuinely from that person's perspective.

tommy cresta: Every chapter is genuinely from that person's perspective.

Ryan: There's never an outside perspective in someone's chapter.

tommy cresta: There's never an outside perspective in someone's chapter. And it works.

Ryan: It's always just... Yeah, it works very, very well.

tommy cresta: it works very, very well. And I like how there's so many just – when you are watching from someone's perspective, you are watching from behind them.

Ryan: like how... you are you are

tommy cresta: Like you feel like you are in that like their view of everything.

Ryan: feel like

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: like yeah it is most of the time the back of their head and what they're looking at.

Ryan: your it is

tommy cresta: Especially Julia Garner.

Ryan: but julia Yeah.

tommy cresta: a lot of the time it is what she's seeing. Yeah.

Ryan: A lot of you over over the shoulder shots, especially with her.

tommy cresta: a lot

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: You know what scene creeped me out and then it wasn't scary?

Ryan: Oh yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: The scene when Paul's girlfriend's following her around in the liquor store. Oh yeah. That was freaking me out at first. I was like fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.

Ryan: Yeah. i was waiting for it to be somebody under control and then it's just

tommy cresta: somebody

Ryan: wasn't

tommy cresta: It wasn't. It was just something.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: But that that's the point.

Ryan: but that

tommy cresta: Is that why I liked this so much more than Barbarian? Is it felt like that i I had that dread.

Ryan: like

Ryan: which I wanted to do.

tommy cresta: Which I wanted to feel to remember.

Ryan: Even in a back year, I was so nervous.

tommy cresta: Even in a packed theater of a movie that I was so nervous that I was going to be so scared of.

Ryan: was pretty good nervous.

tommy cresta: Like a good nervous. Like I wanted to be scared. I never felt.

Ryan: I never felt good.

tommy cresta: But with this I was like, holy fuck.

Ryan: I was like, holy fuck, this movie's...

tommy cresta: This movie Especially when the woman comes out the door in the at the house.

Ryan: Especially when the woman comes out the door. Yeah, with the scissors.

tommy cresta: With scissors.

Ryan: That was probably the creepiest part for me.

tommy cresta: spell Holy fuck.

Ryan: Yeah, the music too.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: It's just the like strings.

tommy cresta: The high string.

Ryan: high string Yeah, it was really good.

tommy cresta: The high string.

Ryan: And then, I mean...

tommy cresta: Insidious does that really well. They have like that same high string noise that they like to do.

Ryan: yeah Yeah, that's what I thought of when I heard it.

tommy cresta: That's what I thought. Fuck, man.

Ryan: um

tommy cresta: That's good.

Ryan: Yeah, and especially the payoff for that when she stops at the car window and then it just goes dead silent and then she walks around to the back door.

tommy cresta: Especially the payoff of that, when she stops at the car window, and then just goes dead silent, then she walks around the door. Did you hear the lady?

Ryan: Did you hear the lady? I think it was the lady next to Nate just goes like, oh, fuck.

tommy cresta: think it was the lady next to me. Just goes like, oh, fuck. Yeah. And then just hearing the car open, i was like, oh, fuck, oh, fuck.

Ryan: Yeah. can i stay the car

Ryan: Yeah. I mean, that was perfectly executed because you're waiting for it to get stabbed.

tommy cresta: That was perfectly executed. I did the thing that you just brought up to me the other day.

Ryan: What?

tommy cresta: What? I did like but the hand thing I do.

Ryan: like Really?

tommy cresta: I like doing like I was like and I'll sit next to you.

Ryan: Yeah. was sitting next to you.

tommy cresta: So I like cross my arms again. I was like like don't let me see that. I did it.

Ryan: Yeah. No, but it was, I mean, that's one of the perfect points to what I was saying earlier with like the the scares.

tommy cresta: I mean that's one of the perfect points of what saying earlier. Like the scares.

Ryan: There's a couple jump scares, but this movie is scary because it just builds up just tension, suspense and everything, especially with that scare.

tommy cresta: There's a couple jump scares. But this movie is scary because it just builds up. Just tension. Suspense. And everything. Especially with that scary there's no there's no real scare.

Ryan: Cause there's no, there's no real scare. Like she just, she gets in.

tommy cresta: Like she just It's just how she moves and the music and everything around it.

Ryan: Yeah. It's scary. Yeah. It's scary how she moves.

tommy cresta: It's scary she moves and then she gets in the car and just cuts off piece

Ryan: And then she, she gets in the car and just cuts off a piece of the hair.

tommy cresta: Yeah. That's it.

Ryan: That's it. and You're sitting there.

tommy cresta: Just like the James, the waving scene I mentioned in the woods. like I mean, soon as he gets to town, I know it's going to be.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: like in my In my head, I was like like, okay, you know it's going to be the cop now.

Ryan: and my no yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah. And I did.

Ryan: and i did

tommy cresta: like I was like, this is where it is. It's not scary anymore. But the thought in my head, I was so like, now she's out there and you know there this creepy woman is out in these woods.

Ryan: but the thought in my yeah yeah you know she's there

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: she a

tommy cresta: I thought she was going to kill them in the woods. Was that Gladys out there?

Ryan: that

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah. Yeah, that was creeping me out.

Ryan: you

tommy cresta: Because that's who also was in the dream.

Ryan: was dream

tommy cresta: But she was dressed in that polka dot outfit again.

Ryan: press

tommy cresta: But you never see Gladys in that polka dot outfit.

Ryan: You never see Gladys.

tommy cresta: So could Gladys make herself be seen in people's like dreams?

Ryan: Yeah. Or was it Gladys? Because it wasn't it in the...

tommy cresta: wasn't and

Ryan: It was the same person.

tommy cresta: It was the same person.

Ryan: It was in the dream.

tommy cresta: Whoever was in James was in the dream.

Ryan: was the same person.

tommy cresta: was the same person who was in the woods. And then you see her again at some point.

Ryan: And then you see her now. Because I feel like that was a different looking person, wasn't it?

tommy cresta: feel like that different looking person. yeah It looks almost like a a man.

Ryan: like It almost looks like a a man. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, I don't know.

Ryan: So maybe there was something...

tommy cresta: It was creepy as fuck, though.

Ryan: yeah Maybe she just had somebody else under under her control kind of like lead people to do certain things.

tommy cresta: It's creepy as shit.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: But yeah, this movie did a great job with the suspense.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: like It didn't feel it didn't have to be didn't have to rely on jump scares.

Ryan: he didnt

Ryan: yeah but again

tommy cresta: But again, this movie is not a horror movie.

Ryan: hard yeah it's smooth

tommy cresta: It's movie is definitely a thriller with scum. with great tension and great suspense.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Again, i feel like marketing teams need to pay attention to this stuff.

Ryan: again mark

tommy cresta: Lean into the idea that it's not a horror movie.

Ryan: mean

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Lean into that this is just a mystery. Because I feel like if you do that and then it has scares, people are holy shit, like this movie was scary without even being a horror movie.

Ryan: like feel like you do that like

tommy cresta: yeah and then

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: But I mean, this movie doesn't need any help.

Ryan: but i mean

tommy cresta: This movie made 138% its butt already.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: This movie's going I mean, Barbarian made crazy money.

Ryan: um very money

tommy cresta: This is going to make great money.

Ryan: Yeah, this is going to do good. Especially, I mean, everybody's talking about this.

tommy cresta: Especially, I mean, everybody's following movies.

Ryan: And I feel like for the wrong reasons, because like, like you said with Barbarian, but Zach Krager is a victim of not great marketing.

tommy cresta: And I feel like for the wrong reasons, because like, like you said with Barbaric, Zach Craig is a thing of a not-great movie. Yeah, people are saying it's like the best horror movie.

Ryan: Because people are saying it's terrifying.

tommy cresta: People are saying it's terrifying.

Ryan: And then... um

tommy cresta: I don't think it's a terrifying movie.

Ryan: No, it's not.

tommy cresta: No, it's not.

Ryan: I feel like people might be disappointed by that.

tommy cresta: I feel like people might disappointed by that.

Ryan: I think people will find it scary.

tommy cresta: I think people will find scary. Yeah.

Ryan: But I think people are going to be disappointed.

tommy cresta: But I think people are going to be disappointed.

Ryan: i think If word gets out there that it's like, it's it's good, but it's not as scary as people are saying.

tommy cresta: If word gets out there that it's like, it's good, but it's not as scary people are saying.

Ryan: People might lose interest, yeah which is bad.

tommy cresta: People might lose interest. Yeah, like, um...

tommy cresta: Chuck, the movie guy, the guy that we're doing a Hell House with, I was watching his review, and he specifically was like, he's like, this is not a horror movie.

Ryan: Just

tommy cresta: he's like He's like, just because something has jump scares does not automatically make it horror.

Ryan: because something gets filmed scared does not automatically get harder.

tommy cresta: yeah Which is so true, and it's...

Ryan: Which is so true and

tommy cresta: The movie that scares Ryan more than anything in the world is Georgina Han Asylum.

Ryan: The movie that's characterized by anything in the world is going to be on set. That movie has jump scares in it.

tommy cresta: That movie has jump scares in it. The jump scares are not what make that movie scary.

Ryan: Jump scares are not what make that movie scary.

tommy cresta: yeah The whole everything else around the movie makes it scary.

Ryan: The whole, everything else around it. Yeah, it's knowing that everybody's just constantly in danger and fear.

tommy cresta: It's knowing that In fear. Yeah.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: That's what makes that movie scary.

Ryan: That's what makes Hell House so scary to the idea of Hell House.

tommy cresta: It's what makes Hell House is so scary because the idea of Hell House and the idea of the clown to me is what makes it scary to me.

Ryan: The idea of the clown in the movie. But again, it's strange this.

tommy cresta: But again, The Strangers is scary because just the stuff in the background, building a suspense.

Ryan: so in the back

tommy cresta: But ah jump scares don't make something a horror movie.

Ryan: um scar

tommy cresta: And this is not a horror movie. And it's, I don't want Zachary to get put in the, like, that he can only make horror movies when I feel like this guy can make anything.

Ryan: don't want but in yeah but you can only get And we've been saying like it's it's a scary movie because it's suspenseful but it's it's suspenseful in moments where it needs to be where they get scary but a lot of the movie is characters trying to figure out this mystery and like talking with each other you know arguing yelling at each other most of the time but yeah exactly.

tommy cresta: We've been saying, like, it's a scary movie, but it's suspenseful. But it's suspenseful in moments where it needs to be. where it gets scary. But a lot of the movie is characters trying to figure out this mystery, like, talking with each other, you know, arguing and yelling each other.

tommy cresta: Great drama, too. Like, great acting, writing.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, but we're saying, like, the scares are from the suspense and tension.

Ryan: But we're saying like the scares are from the suspense and tension, but it's not, that's not throughout the whole movie, like a Kojima or a hell house where, you know, like, yeah, it's like those movies, those true horror movies are like, there's always something right around the corner like something could be Washington right now.

tommy cresta: But it's not that's not throughout the whole movie, like a Godzilla or a Hell House. Yeah, it comes and goes. Yeah, it's like those movies, those true horror movies, are like, there's always something right on corner, like, something could be watching the brain.

Ryan: This movie, that's that's kind of true, but most of the time you don't really feel it.

tommy cresta: this movie, that's that's kind of true, but most of the time you don't really feel it.

Ryan: It's more so just figuring out this mystery.

tommy cresta: It's more so just figuring out this mystery.

Ryan: And then as they get closer and closer, you know as the movie goes on, and you get closer and closer to figuring out the the mystery, then it starts getting scarier and scarier because you know they're getting closer to the evil.

tommy cresta: And then as they get closer and closer, know, as the movie goes on, and you get closer closer figuring out the mystery, then it starts getting scarier. They're getting closer to people.

Ryan: You know what i mean?

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: That was a really good

tommy cresta: No, I agree. And then that was really good point.

Ryan: But, yeah, just not part of the music.

tommy cresta: But, yeah, it's it's not a horror movie. It's a thriller, which I know a thriller is very close to horror, but as Ryan...

Ryan: You know, Riddler is very close to Harper. bri

tommy cresta: Very accurately said, horror is a continuous feeling.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. continuous feeling

tommy cresta: It is from beginning to end.

Ryan: to end

tommy cresta: Horror has that like first act of like, oh, everything's good.

Ryan: exactly go yeah

tommy cresta: Snap the finger. Everything goes bad.

Ryan: brother is

tommy cresta: Thriller is, your it's normally a mystery.

Ryan: normally a mystery

tommy cresta: You're figuring something out and there's moments of tension and suspense throughout.

Ryan: bigger something out moments of tension and throughout

tommy cresta: And that's what this movie does so well.

Ryan: that's what this one does so well

tommy cresta: So I feel like it needs to, they need to stop saying it.

Ryan: click stop singing it cause i feel like pork gar

tommy cresta: Cause I feel like barbarian, feel like barbarian might be more of a horror kind than this is just of a horror movie.

Ryan: barbarian of a hard kind of but

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah. Because we're very monster movie.

Ryan: various of Yeah.

tommy cresta: This is a thriller that has horror elements through it.

Ryan: Yeah. I know what you mean.

tommy cresta: Yeah, because that's just a monster movie.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: With a terrible human being in it.

Ryan: human being

tommy cresta: Justin Long. Which was really funny to see in this.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Got a good laugh out of me.

Ryan: Wait, what?

tommy cresta: Wait, what?

Ryan: just long

tommy cresta: Justin Long's in this.

Ryan: Oh, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

tommy cresta: Oh, oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, didn't expect that. Yeah, no.

Ryan: Yeah, know.

tommy cresta: Especially since they did say this is the same universe.

Ryan: They did? and you

tommy cresta: They did?

Ryan: they did

tommy cresta: Yeah, you didn't know that?

Ryan: yeah he no

tommy cresta: There's a newspaper that when this movie got announced, it was talking about the house from Barbarian.

Ryan: there's a newspaper that onet gets you we got now talking about from Barbarian but I guess he's got a twin brother I don't know yeah cause he got while he got ripped in half yeah it looks so goofy really

tommy cresta: Yeah. But, I mean, he could be playing two different characters. It's... He doesn't give a shit.

tommy cresta: That's... I remember sitting in the theater when it dives off the building.

Ryan: so there yeah and looks so goofy

tommy cresta: I remember being like, what the fuck?

Ryan: i wrote a little oneipp behind me h

tommy cresta: and I remember there was a woman sitting behind me and she was getting pissed off.

Ryan: really i can't see a horror of this shit

tommy cresta: She's like, I came to see a horror movie and this shit is dumb as fuck.

Ryan: oh

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: But this was, I loved this movie and I will definitely be going to see it again.

Ryan: this was i

tommy cresta: But yeah, I won i hope my my dad was going to go see it on Sunday and then he ended up not being able to.

Ryan: i won't i hope but that was sunday I think my dad wants to see it.

tommy cresta: think my dad wants see it.

Ryan: I'll go see it with my Because my dad hates horror movies.

tommy cresta: You see, I'll go see it. My dad hates horror movies.

Ryan: And I told him like, yeah.

tommy cresta: Oh, this will scare your dad.

Ryan: But I told him i'm like, I think you can do it.

tommy cresta: But I told I'm like, I think you can do It's more of a thriller and horror movie.

Ryan: It's more of a thriller than a horror. I think you can do it.

tommy cresta: I think I would probably stop my dad in the same

Ryan: I think. I probably sucker my dad into seeing this.

tommy cresta: yeah I would love to go see this in theater with my dad.

Ryan: I would love to go see this in a theater with my dad. Just watch my dad cover his eyes.

tommy cresta: Just watch my dad cover his eyes.

Ryan: oh yeah Jesus.

tommy cresta: Jesus.

Ryan: Because my dad's, I don't know why my dad's biggest fear in movies.

tommy cresta: My dad's... I don't know why. My dad's biggest fear... Anytime I see a horror movie, he's like, is there aliens in it?

Ryan: he's always Anytime I see a horror movie, he's like, is there aliens in it? like No, he's terrified of aliens.

tommy cresta: No. He's terrified. No, you should make him watch that one that came out last year.

Ryan: rachel marset

tommy cresta: Remember that alien movie that went straight to streaming?

Ryan: knew that

tommy cresta: It was on Hulu.

Ryan: No.

tommy cresta: Fuck, people loved it.

Ryan: Which one?

tommy cresta: Fuck, what was it called?

Ryan: don't remember. Yeah, my dad's terrified.

tommy cresta: Yeah, my dad's terrified.

Ryan: of He can run into a burning building without a second thought, I guess, but aliens scare him for some reason.

tommy cresta: He can run into a burning building without a second thought, I guess, but an alien is scary for some reason.

Ryan: guess they're scary alien movies.

tommy cresta: It's the scary alien.

Ryan: They're very scary alien movies.

tommy cresta: It's very scary

Ryan: No one save you.

tommy cresta: No one will save you.

Ryan: No one will save you?

tommy cresta: one will save you. Yeah, sy horror sci-fi horror movie.

Ryan: Yeah. aye my

tommy cresta: 83% on on google

Ryan: Yeah. yeah can

tommy cresta: yeah you september twenty second twenty twenty three

Ryan: No one will save you.

tommy cresta: no one Home Invasion Horror Thrill was an extraterrestrial twist.

Ryan: invasionion heart

Ryan: but Oh yeah.

tommy cresta: Oh, yeah.

Ryan: I think.

tommy cresta: Yeah, people were, like, really excited.

Ryan: about this yeah

tommy cresta: So your dad won't watch, like, Alien?

Ryan: you know No, I doubt it.

tommy cresta: No, don't. He's terrified of aliens.

Ryan: He's terrified of aliens. It makes, i don't, I don't understand why.

tommy cresta: I didn't know that your dad was terrified of aliens. Yeah, I guess so.

Ryan: Yeah, I guess so.

tommy cresta: That's funny. And your dad didn't like horror movies.

Ryan: hey that are Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, dad hates horror movies.

Ryan: My dad hates heart. He's not, does not like horror movies.

tommy cresta: I think seeing it in theaters too and with an audience.

Ryan: So see it in theaters as early as you can while people are still going to it.

tommy cresta: So see it in theaters as early as you can while people are still going to it.

Ryan: Because it's a different experience when you're when you're in a theater and you can hear people around you being like, oh God, like scared with you.

tommy cresta: Because it is. It's a different experience when you're in a theater you hear people around being like, oh god, like, scary.

Ryan: It's fun.

tommy cresta: It's fun.

Ryan: It's a good time.

tommy cresta: It's a good time.

Ryan: um Just maintain theater etiquette.

tommy cresta: Just maintain theater attitude. Don't be a piece of shit.

Ryan: Don't be piece shit because it's dying.

tommy cresta: Because it's dying.

Ryan: Our theater was good.

tommy cresta: i thought you was good

Ryan: Our theater was very good.

tommy cresta: I, I, if someone, when I'm seeing The Conjuring, if someone tries to fucking be in, I'll stand up and say, I'll shoot, I'll shoot.

Ryan: someone but i'm seeing how

Ryan: If those kids from air come back. I'll shoot them.

tommy cresta: don't think you can say that.

Ryan: They're done. What do you mean? so say

tommy cresta: Don't say that, because now if something happens to them, we're going to be the ones that get wanted for it.

Ryan: It's a Nerf gun.

tommy cresta: Okay,

Ryan: Yeah, it's fine. With a Nerf gun.

Ryan: um God, those kids fucking sucked.

tommy cresta: God.

Ryan: That guy who grabbed the one should have just clocked them.

tommy cresta: You should have just thrown him over the railing.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: We saw Air, the Air Jordan, Michael Jordan movie.

tommy cresta: We saw him in Air. Oh, no. We we talked about it on the podcast, man.

Ryan: I know.

tommy cresta: Remember i said I said I get why parents hit their kids.

Ryan: People might not forget. Yeah, yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dude, that's the one man who wrote my kid.

Ryan: Dude, that's the one the one manager at work had a kid.

tommy cresta: I came back and i was like, yeah, that's the kid.

Ryan: i He came back and I was like, dude, how's the kid? And he's like, it's good.

tommy cresta: He's like, it's good.

Ryan: It's good. i I get why shaking baby syndrome happens, but I'm not going to do it.

tommy cresta: I get why shaking baby syndrome happens, not going to do it.

Ryan: And i was like, right, cool.

tommy cresta: I'm like, all right, cool. Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah, it's funny.

tommy cresta: Yeah, that's funny.

Ryan: um

tommy cresta: That is funny.

Ryan: Yeah, those kids in air sucked.

tommy cresta: Yeah, those kids in Air suck. Those kids did suck. Junk.

Ryan: Jumping and screaming the entire movie. comment

tommy cresta: Comdreams can be fun to see in theaters.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: and like a

tommy cresta: That's like a fun horror movie scene.

Ryan: Yeah, that'll be good.

tommy cresta: Especially because the third one didn't release in theaters.

Ryan: one do Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: name that a phone i mean like Yeah, it was just all COVID.

tommy cresta: They also didn't even get to film that on sets. I mean, like, on practical sets. They had to film that all in a fucking studio. I'm excited for that.

Ryan: umm sorry Yeah, Con should be good.

tommy cresta: I think it's gonna be fun. Yeah. don't think it's going to be as good one and two.

Ryan: No, I don't think so.

tommy cresta: No, don't. Sam just watched them again.

Ryan: The second one crazy.

tommy cresta: She's like, dude, she's like, that's so good. The second one's the credits when you hear, like, the audio.

Ryan: Then we hear the real audio.

tommy cresta: So it's really good.

Ryan: Yeah, it's super creepy. um But yeah, go go see weapons in theaters.

tommy cresta: But yeah, go go see Weapons of the Leaders.

Ryan: Don't don't just wait for to come out on streaming.

tommy cresta: Don't just wait for it to come out screen.

Ryan: It's a very good movie, but just be aware.

tommy cresta: It's a very good movie, but just be aware.

Ryan: It's like don't go into it being like, oh, yeah, I'm going to be scared out um out of my mind.

tommy cresta: Don't go into it being like, oh yeah, I'm going be scared out of my mind.

Ryan: It's just a good ass movie.

tommy cresta: It's just a good ass movie.

Ryan: Just sit down.

tommy cresta: Just sit down, enjoy it.

Ryan: Enjoy it. So, yeah.

tommy cresta: So, yeah.

Ryan: Absolutely worth seeing.

tommy cresta: What would you like to recommend everyone, Ryan?

Ryan: would you like recommend everyone

Ryan: write?

tommy cresta: That's

Ryan: That's a great question.

tommy cresta: a great question.

tommy cresta: I mean, I've been watching the Justice League.

Ryan: i mean, I've been watching the Justice League animated universe, the movies.

tommy cresta: Hey, you've been. Which is crazy that you've never watched them.

Ryan: crazy

tommy cresta: Yeah, I never really did.

Ryan: Yeah, I never really never really did. Even the show, I never...

tommy cresta: You were also a Marvel kid.

Ryan: Yeah, I was always Marvel.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Which is where we always separated.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: But DC has far better animated properties.

tommy cresta: But DC has far better animated. It is It's not even

Ryan: Yeah. Like this Spider-Man show is the Ultimate Spider-Man back in the day on Disney XD. It was a good one. When he had the team of...

tommy cresta: good.

Ryan: It was him, White Tiger, Power Man.

tommy cresta: The one with Drake Bell?

Ryan: yeah Was Drake Bell? Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yes.

Ryan: I don't know.

tommy cresta: That series was terrible.

Ryan: That's serious. I was a kid watching I liked it.

tommy cresta: I was a kid watching. I liked it.

Ryan: It was him, White Tiger, Power Man, Iron Fist, and Nova.

tommy cresta: It was him, White Tiger, Power Man, Iron Fist, and Nova.

Ryan: And I was like, hell yeah, that's awesome.

tommy cresta: was like, hell yeah, that's awesome.

Ryan: um And then you got Miles Morales was, what's his name?

tommy cresta: And then you Miles Morales, who's, um, what's his name?

Ryan: Donald Glover.

tommy cresta: Don Glover. Yeah.

Ryan: yeah For a little bit, yeah.

tommy cresta: For little bit. Yeah. It was a good show.

Ryan: It was a good show.

tommy cresta: I think that's with Drake Bell.

Ryan: you know

tommy cresta: Or no, where was the other one?

Ryan: I don't think it was Drake.

tommy cresta: The other one was a really good one, but then there was the Drake Bell version.

Ryan: they Yeah, but anyways, um if you're gonna watch the Justice League movies, start with Flashpoint Paradox.

tommy cresta: But anyways, if you're gonna watch the Justice League movie, you start with Flashpoint Paradox.

Ryan: It's very good.

tommy cresta: It's very good. Yeah, it starts off the universe.

Ryan: I like that one. Yeah, I like that one a lot.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Because it reset the old universe.

Ryan: okay That was the only one that was set.

tommy cresta: Okay. That was the older universe, which set this universe.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: So.

tommy cresta: Yeah. I remember when Flashpoint came out.

Ryan: remember when Blackboard came up, they were

tommy cresta: I was very sad. Mm-hmm.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah, but then, you know, the rest of them start off, and the next one is Justice League War, and it's cool seeing all of them meet each other for the first time, but I love the Flash and things, and they're like, wait, Batman's real?

Ryan: But then, you know, the the rest of them start off, and the next the next one's Justice League War. And it's cool seeing all of them meet each other for the first time. i love that Flash and Green Lantern are like, wait, Batman's real? It's just, it's cool.

tommy cresta: So, wait, did you see when Batman gets the ring?

Ryan: So wait, did you see when Batman gets the right? No, I don't think so.

tommy cresta: Like, did he take, he did him and Green Lantern have any solo interactions yet?

Ryan: anybody lin on me so I think a couple, but i don't remember.

tommy cresta: think a couple, don't know. They haven't, like, walked?

Ryan: Oh, yeah.

tommy cresta: yeah, when they're in the sewer.

Ryan: When they're in the sewer and he like and grabs it.

tommy cresta: And he's like, how's this work?

Ryan: Yeah. How does this work?

tommy cresta: he's like, how'd you do that?

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Yeah.

Ryan: That was cool.

tommy cresta: Yeah. Their interactions are great in that universe.

Ryan: right Yeah. And he's like, you can't just be a normal guy, right? Just turns the smirks at him. That's cool.

tommy cresta: Awesome.

Ryan: Yeah, that's great. know

tommy cresta: That guy who voices that Batman is awesome.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: Also, Aquaman.

Ryan: Also, Aquaman. Do you know who else?

tommy cresta: you know who else What other anime character you voiced?

Ryan: What other animated character he voiced? Aquaman.

tommy cresta: No.

tommy cresta: Really?

Ryan: Yeah, Clone Wars.

tommy cresta: i didn't know that.

Ryan: I heard it immediately.

tommy cresta: I heard it immediately.

Ryan: I was like, is that Anakin?

tommy cresta: I was like, is that Anakin? Immediately. immediately I looked it up and was like, yeah.

Ryan: Immediately, I looked it up and was like, yeah. And it's funny because um Justice League, Throne of Atlantis is the third one.

tommy cresta: And it's funny because... Justice League, Growing Atlantis is the third one.

Ryan: um It's... Is it good?

tommy cresta: Is it good? Yeah, it's good.

Ryan: Yeah, it's good. I like it.

tommy cresta: I've never watched, like, I haven't really watched any of their solo ones.

Ryan: haven't really watched either so long. Yeah, it's pretty good.

tommy cresta: I've only watched, the team ones.

Ryan: Well, that's the Justice League one.

tommy cresta: Well, that's the Justice

Ryan: It's the whole Justice League.

tommy cresta: The whole Justice League. don't think I've seen that one.

Ryan: Yeah, it's good.

tommy cresta: Yeah, it's good.

Ryan: it's um It's...

tommy cresta: I watched probably 20 of the 26, think.

Ryan: It's the first one with Aquaman, but it's...

tommy cresta: It's the first one with Aquaman. But it's, it's basically, it's honestly, it's the same story just without the Justice League of the Aquaman movie.

Ryan: um It's basically, it's honestly, it's the same story just without the Justice League of the Aquaman movie cutting some things.

tommy cresta: Oh. Cutting some things.

Ryan: But it's the same thing of like, ah Mira goes up and finds him.

tommy cresta: But it's the same thing of, like, mi goes up and finds me she's like arthur you have to come back or he help atlanti and forms

Ryan: She's like, Arthur, you have to come back and help Atlantis. And Orm's down there as brother, half-brother. But it's funny because, what's his name?

tommy cresta: But it's funny, what's his name, Sam Woodward?

Ryan: Sam Witwer, I think?

tommy cresta: Yeah. Yeah, he voices Palpatine and Perger, Paul.

Ryan: The guy voices Palpatine and Maul. He's done Palpatine a couple times, but he's Orm.

tommy cresta: He's done Palpatine a couple times. He's the one.

Ryan: So it was Anakin and fucking Maul.

tommy cresta: Oh, really? That's pretty funny.

Ryan: So I thought that was funny.

tommy cresta: So, thought that was funny. But yeah, it's the to the Aquaman live action movie, which I just thought was kind of funny.

Ryan: But yeah, it's the same similar story to the Aquaman live action movie, which I just thought was kind of funny. yeah

tommy cresta: Yeah, they probably took it for that.

Ryan: Oh yeah, clearly.

tommy cresta: oh yeah. this The Aquaman movie probably came out first, the animated one.

Ryan: Yeah, I think it was like 16 or something.

tommy cresta: Yeah, i think it was like 16 or something.

Ryan: I want to say Aquaman was maybe like 18.

tommy cresta: Oh, that's like you. Yeah.

Ryan: So I mean close, but yeah, it was close.

tommy cresta: yeah Because I was a senior, I think, when Aquaman came Yeah, it was close.

Ryan: But um yeah, good movies though.

tommy cresta: But, yeah. Good movie stuff.

Ryan: The Justice League animated universe.

tommy cresta: The Justice League animated universe. It's fun.

Ryan: It's fun.

tommy cresta: Yeah, what do you got?

Ryan: So yeah, what do you got?

tommy cresta: Sorry.

Ryan: Oh, boy.

tommy cresta: Oh,

Ryan: Sorry, he's texting.

tommy cresta: Sorry, he's texting. Are you looking up your recommendation?

Ryan: Are you looking up your recommendation of week?

tommy cresta: No, I was texting my sister.

Ryan: No, I'm texting my sister. I'm going to recommend going to recommend a rookie.

tommy cresta: um Those were good choices. I'm going to recommend two different things. i recommend a show and a movie. First, I'm going to recommend The Rookie TV show.

Ryan: I'm obsessed.

tommy cresta: I'm obsessed.

Ryan: It is also my background.

tommy cresta: I'm already on season two. It is also my background show, so I'm not fully paying attention.

Ryan: I'm not going to do a fantastic show. I'm doing lot of stuff.

tommy cresta: I'm doing other stuff while i'm watching it.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: But it's really good.

Ryan: Which is really good.

tommy cresta: i mean, the one episode I watched, it's the eighth episode of the show.

Ryan: I mean, the one episode watched, the eight episodes of the show, it is...

tommy cresta: It is one of the best episodes of television I've watched in a long time.

Ryan: One of the best episodes of television I've watched in a long time. Really?

tommy cresta: It is really sad, and it's really accurate to what

Ryan: It is really sad. It's really accurate.

tommy cresta: um It's about a cop having to use lethal force and like the the whole thing that happened when cops do have to use lethal force in a real scenario and like what cops do after.

Ryan: It's about a cop having just legal force. The whole thing happens when cops legal force in a whole scenario. And what cops do after.

tommy cresta: and Because they do become suspects.

Ryan: Because they become suspects.

tommy cresta: They have to go through investigations.

Ryan: Yeah, it's treated like a homicide. Yeah, it becomes a homicide.

tommy cresta: Yeah, it it becomes a haside homicide case. um So that was cool. And then the movie i'm goingnna I want to recommend, I'm going recommend The Conjuring 2.

Ryan: And in the movie, I'm going to recommend the Connick 2. yeah it is definitely more James Bond than the Connery one because he just goes fuck it for better for worse but yeah yeah yeah I think it looks cool yeah I like it yeah

tommy cresta: Fantastic movie. I always used say it's better than The Conjuring 1. It's not better than The Conjuring 1. It is definitely more James Wan than the Conjuring one. Because he just goes fucking... For better or worse.

tommy cresta: Yeah, like balls to the wall with it. Like he has the claymation sequence, which I used to not like, but i love the older one. Because he really just goes for it. and so But like, it definitely gets more that like he's just going for scares.

Ryan: yeah there's more like yeah like the first one

tommy cresta: Like the first one, it seems like it was going... It has to be a movie, so it's a little over the top to what the action story is.

Ryan: But it's more grounded than the second one.

tommy cresta: it's more grounded. Yeah.

Ryan: The second one is like multiple demons and like figures.

tommy cresta: The second one is like... Demon creed volok showing up.

Ryan: Yeah.

tommy cresta: and

Ryan: ah yeah but

tommy cresta: Yeah. But I love The Conjuring too. And it has some great scares in it still. The scene when the toy truck comes back in always scared the shit out of me as a kid.

Ryan: sha Yeah. always good And I love the scene during the interview with the little girl when she like, it's fuzzy in the background.

tommy cresta: I loved seeing that during the interview with the little girl when like, it's fuzzy in the background. And she's transformed.

Ryan: You see her morph into the old man. It's super cool looking.

tommy cresta: Yeah. So I'm excited.

Ryan: so I'm excited

tommy cresta: I'm so excited to see it. Because this, I don't think I've seen A Conjuring in theaters yet.

Ryan: I haven't. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: Because I was too young, I think, to see any of them.

Ryan: i yeah

tommy cresta: Because I saw the Insidious's because they were PG-13, so I could go into them.

Ryan: so

tommy cresta: I couldn't go see the Conjuring's.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: But yeah.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: um Yeah, that's everything I have for you guys. Next week, we'll be back to do Alien Earth.

Ryan: next you know yep

tommy cresta: And we'll be back to do Hell House Lineage with Chuck the Movie Guy.

Ryan: yeah yeah

tommy cresta: So those two episodes will be fun.

Ryan: first on

tommy cresta: we've We've been sitting on Hell House for a while.

Ryan: we've been seeing

tommy cresta: We've watched it almost a month ago now.

Ryan: yeah

tommy cresta: And it comes out theaters next week.

Ryan: next week

tommy cresta: Um... Yeah, well, I'm excited.

Ryan: Excited to talk about it. excited but

tommy cresta: I mean, I'm going to have to go back through.

Ryan: Yeah, might have to rewatch little bit.

tommy cresta: Yeah, might have to rewatch it.

Ryan: Refresh the memory a bit. Maybe go see it in theaters.

tommy cresta: Maybe go see them.

Ryan: Just to really...

tommy cresta: Well, we can see them. There are episodes before them.

Ryan: That's true.

tommy cresta: That's true. Yeah. And I don't I might still access, so I got to go see.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah.

tommy cresta: um I should. and if not, I'll reach out to the person.

Ryan: but yeah

tommy cresta: But yeah, thank you guys so much for tuning in. Make sure to like, subscribe, comment, repost, download.
