Speaker: Hello, everybody, and welcome to episode 200 of the Tony's Game Lodge podcast. I am your host, as always, Tony14. And joining us this week, we've got two very special guests.
Speaker: First, he's a ninja. Huh? He's a frog. Yeah. haaskadaba has shabada bahakaba duba It's Ninja frog. hava duba I'm so happy to be back. It's fun.
Speaker: It's hot. It's the Tony's game. Yes. yes And also joining us, ah he has the record for most appearances on this podcast. We have not talked to him in three years a podcast wise. are really ah the The talking relationship outside of the podcast is fine.
Speaker: And he was recently married and all of that other stuff is our Destiny insider, Jackson, back with us once again. Hey, eyes up, guardians. That's all I'm going to say. We're going to have anything to do in that record.
Speaker: Welcome back, Jackson. Thank you. Thank you. Good to be back, Tony. i miss mu i miss I miss my platform. but Yes. It's good to have you guys both here. 200 episodes. Can you believe that this has gotten as far as it has? 100%. I didn't think you were going to make it past episode 10. But you did treat me wrong.
Speaker: Thank you. Bro, bro is 100% committed. Yeah, the autism really took control. ah but why i Those early days. Well, hey, look, I'm not I'm not going lie. Those early episodes were a bit rough. You know, me sitting crisscross in my closet, MacBook on the floor, overheating,
Speaker: Blue snowball microphone right next to me in the position I had to be set up in. Pillows neck. It was rough those early days. And I think that was seasons one through...
Speaker: four i think it wasn't until like season five or six that I got out of the closet and just started ah and just started recording at the desk with at my desk at the time and then it wasn't until like very recently couple but three years ago now that I got my actual good setup and soundproofing and everything and all of that so I'm it's good to be where I am now
Speaker: If I'm not mistaken, I think I dropped the R word when i was on my very first appearance on this show. am like i honestly have. I do not remember. i I remember listening back to that and you had to bleep something. And I'm like, oh, I think I said the R word.
Speaker: Whoops. I wasn't quite media trained back then. so Yeah. I honestly, it what that was six years ago. So I don't remember. But also six years ago was such a different time, too.
Speaker: For sure. as i As I was recently watching 10-year-old video on YouTube, and I'm like, oh, yeah, they just nonchalantly dropped the R word in that video, too. And I'm like, oh, yeah.
Speaker: No, 10 years ago, vastly different, too. yeah We're in such a different timeline now just with that alone. ah But it's time to talk some video games once again, as we always do here. We've got a brand new headline of the week this week.
Speaker: ah Minecraft is back in the news because they did Minecraft live and they made a huge announcement ah since essentially the end update.
Speaker: They are adding a brand new dimension to the game. It is called The Sift. It will be introduced officially in Minecraft Dungeons 2, so if you play that, you'll actually get to experience The Sift for the first time, but not in the proper Minecraft form, more in like the Diablo form that the Minecraft Dungeons gameplay style is based on.
Speaker: It is set to come out next year for both Java and Bedrock. It's extremely bright and vibrant, using a lot of like blues and pinks. ah from everything that we saw in the trailer. The new mob, one of the new mobs being introduced is called the Blub, which is a little blue small rabbit, or it might be called the Bloob.
Speaker: unsure because they they only put it in text form. And that's all we see. BLUB could be either or. ah As for some blocks included, we got Sift Stone, Sift Dirt, a new white kind of tree, so white bark, which means a whole other set of wood items.
Speaker: And Sift. Some biomes they announced as well are the Pink Meadow, Green Sift Plains, White Forest, which is very funny because you could always say it's almost say it's a Sonic reference, except it just takes the the white part of White Jungle and the Forest of Green Forest from Sonic 2 Adventure 2 fuses it together.
Speaker: um And we aren't sure how to access the new dimension yet, but it's possible that in the deep dark, the giant portal frame that you find there is how we access it, but there is no confirmation of how to get there as of yet.
Speaker: Also, during the Minecraft Live, they announced the Switch 2 version of Minecraft will be released October 27th. And if you own the game digitally on the Switch, you can get the upgrade pack for free.
Speaker: Thank God. Excellent. Let's go. Continue to do that. game Developers, let yes. Free upgrades, please. Yes.
Speaker: What are your guys' thoughts on this, on the new dimension in Minecraft? I am so happy that the developers of Mojang finally did their job. Like, full stop. Like, that's just... I can't... the Guys, hey...
Speaker: They did it. They freaking did it. I saw that. I do think a part of it is Asha Sharma's whole restructuring of the Xbox thing and all the companies underneath it did kind of put a kick in the pants of Mojang because, hey, as she said, Mojang is one of the two studios that's bringing the most money to Xbox.
Speaker: That's that's so amazing. That's surprising. And the other one is the studio that makes Candy Crush. Oh, God. don't even call it duty or anything like that. godno Thank God for Mojang being up there. like i did all All four, im like I understand people like mobile games.
Speaker: I just can't do it, dude. Candy Crush is just, it's just made to get you to keep playing and spend money. It's stupid. It's it's it's miserable. and no one should like I knew a guy in college that was like, I think, in the thousands of levels for Candy Crush.
Speaker: And he was he played for free. like He didn't drop a dime in that. He just... okay oh Dude, dude, fucking... Dude, he just played a lot of Candy Crush. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. I'm looking at the wiki right now. Yes. And the initial picture looks beautiful. I am. Okay. I mean, I'm, I'm a sucker for like, like bioluminescence kind of color. And that's what it feels like. It's not exactly like that. it's not dark, but like, that's what the tree color looks like is that, that kind of blue. And the little, like little bunny cute little guys are really fun. Yeah.
Speaker: um Yeah, it looks really interesting. It almost kind of looks like a one of those kind of random, like really colorful areas in Xenoblade Chronicles, where just kind of like unexpected and it just nature-y.
Speaker: So, yeah, this looks awesome. Definitely it will be ah for the we'll bring back the once a year monthly Minecraft. hey hey ready up Hey, the nice thing about that is the game lounge. We have like a Minecraft server again. ah So definitely when the update comes out, I think we'll probably switch it back to vanilla for that time to check it out.
Speaker: Oh, yeah. It's very cool. Very cool. Are any of you i you guys planning on playing Minecraft Dungeons 2 at all? I didn't even know they made a Minecraft Dungeons 1.
Speaker: Yeah, no, it's been... it's ah I mean, if you like Diablo, it's basically Diablo with a Minecraft skin. Interesting. Yeah, i haven't I haven't considered it too hard. Uh...
Speaker: Looks like it's also already mixed on Steam, unfortunately. That doesn't mean that mean that does a good much. it could just People could just be bitching about optimization lot the time, which is what happens. It's really early. so yeah but ah Yeah, I don't know. I'm not like, unless I was playing with other people, I probably wouldn't pick it up for myself. Very fair. Very fair.
Speaker: But that's the sift. That's the headline of the week. And now it's time to get into everything else that's happened in these past two weeks and dive into the week in review. Recapping the major stories of video games and the world of tabletop, looking over recent releases and reports from the Game Lounge crew, it's the week in review.
Speaker: it Starting off, some of the last major games that came out of these past two weeks. Minecraft Dungeons 2, as we were just talking about. Toem 2, the sequel to Toem, which I recently just played, finished, and platinumed.
Speaker: Fantastic time. Love the Toem games a lot. Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered. Ace Combat 8, Wings of Thieve. Star Wars Galactic Racer just dropped as well. And reviews for that are...
Speaker: out of the water and people are loving this arcade eraser game. Uh, and order of the s sinking star just came out. This is from the developer of the witness. And, uh, this game has over like a thousand plus puzzles or more.
Speaker: Be wary. When you enter this game, folks, this will take up your life. And it's by the guy who gave us The Witness, which I have a very strong opinion on The Witness. I don't think it's a great puzzle game ah because of how difficult it is. And I'm not smart enough.
Speaker: I don't have that brainpower. I'm sorry. very fun raid boss in Destiny, might I add. We'll get to that later. We'll get to that later.
Speaker: As for your video game news, the Triple I Initiative October 2026 took place. And if you do not know what the Triple I Initiative is, it's this 45 minute long indie game showcase. ah One happened Earlier this year, I believe, and now this is like the second or third one.
Speaker: I actually don't remember. They've they they've been happy. they They recently started this up. It's just 45 minutes of straight world premieres or updates to indie games. And it's it's it's great. it's It's a good way to just in in don indulge more gaming news and games that are coming out soon.
Speaker: So as for what was announced, we got Zhao Hun, a Chinese horror game coming out 2027. Among Us Story on Guard that comes up February 17th.
Speaker: This is a basically a story mode for Among Us. It's a whole separate game. It's more like a detective point and click game with some movement here and there and some mini games. Looks interesting.
Speaker: Uh, not sure if I'll pick it up though. Uh, outward two is coming to early access. February 8th. Machinarium squared or Machinarium two is coming out sometime in the future. Canyon's was showed off or at least some November, 20, 27 revamp comes up March 25th. Astral ascent. The 2d roguelike platformer, uh, is getting a free update. Adding the expedition 33 cast into the games. You can play as a, Gustav, Verso, Lune, Mael, Anciel, and Monoco.
Speaker: Hella comes out December 1st. That's that little mouse game where you play as a bunch of mice. I i believe this is first time they showed off like the co-op aspect of it. And they gave us a release date for December 1st.
Speaker: A game called the Volatiles was announced. Chained Together is getting a brand new map on November 12th, you and your friends can torture yourselves again. yay.
Speaker: Brotato is receiving DLC called Primal Dread and that releases on November 2nd. Haunted Paws got a new trailer. That's that game where your two dogs trying to find your owner and you're going through a bunch of spooky areas. It's like it takes two but your dog's and in a horror game.
Speaker: ah Lazarus's Sacrifice comes out Spring 2027. We got a new trailer for Tube Deep to Quit. This is from the developers of Guilty Ass Sock, ah which is a fantastic game where you're just a bunch of sock puppets doing court trial doing court cases that you get to make. Very fun game with a bunch of friends. And Tube Deep to Quit seems to be a bit more of like... a Peak-esque, except instead of going up, you're traveling to a temple to go get treasure.
Speaker: That's the vibes I get now. Also, all of these games, ah or a majority of them, have a demo out now ah or a open open testing, playtesting open as well. And so you can all check out all these demos on Steam or wherever their demos are out.
Speaker: So definitely going try to get a Too Deep to Quit demo playthrough with the the crew sometime in the future. ah Drunken Goddess Reflux comes out October 19th, where you try to out drink a demon who is also trying to, who wants your soul, but is also horny for you. Because of course not. Of course. Why, why wouldn't they be?
Speaker: Windrose, that pirate game that came out earlier this year, or it was late last year. I can't remember which one comes out with its next ah first expansion, first DLC Ashlands this winter.
Speaker: Stronghold 4 is coming out December 7th. Vault Breakers got a trailer. The Talos Principle 3 got a new trailer and has a release date set for sometime next year. Pony Island 2, Panda Circus. This is the new game from the developer of Inscription. The playtest is now open for that game.
Speaker: Living Hell got a trailer. Gods with Badges, a cop tactics game, got a trailer. Kingdom 2 Crowns, Pharaohlands coming out sometime later this year. Waltz and Jam, a platformer where you're a ghost working with a cat ah to...
Speaker: Go defeat the seven deadly sins. That comes out to December 3rd. That looked really cool. Would recommend checking out that trailer. Dandelion Void is a game set for 2027. This is made by a modding team who worked on a mod for Project Zomboid.
Speaker: So it has a lot of Project Zomboid vibes, except you're in space in a abandoned space colony that has been overrun with like plant aliens and whatnot. So if you're into that, that might be for you to check out.
Speaker: Prison of Husks comes out January 27th. And the best way I can describe this one is if a Souls-like game was built for the PlayStation 1 graphically is how that looks, which is really cool. Rock Beast is a new game from Critical Role that's coming out January 2027. Matt Mercer and Sam Regal both let their voices in the game, but also Iggy Pop is lending his voice into the game as well.
Speaker: Out of nowhere. So sweet. That's kind of cool. Prospice comes out 2027. And then we got another trailer for a militia. This is that game where there's a giant big police officer that's like tracking your every move and you're trying to escape town. But everything you do is like could alert him and whatnot. You're trying to like get out of the town.
Speaker: That got a new trailer and that comes out next year as well. Little Prince Tiger got a little trailer for twice Y7. Wild Heart, a new action adventure game with a shared EXP for playing with your friends comes out. Got a trailer.
Speaker: Train Watch comes out March 10th. Isle Goblin got a trailer. False Echo comes out 2027 after Gods was announced. and It's from the developers of Tribes of Midgard. Risk of Rain 2 is getting a new DLC called Hollowed Concepts.
Speaker: Escape the Backrooms is getting two new updates, one later this month and one in December. Sulphur enters 1.0 with its update on October 28th. The Escapists 3 was announced for next year. And Dave the Diver is getting its final DLC, ah which is a collaboration with Subnautica 2 early next year. That was everything showcased at the Triple I initiative. Any of those games pique y'all's interest at all?
Speaker: Not particularly, but the escape from backrooms reminds me of Darktide and I like Darktide, so I'll probably like that one. Nice.
Speaker: Ninja Frog, what about you? A lot of these are new to me. ah so i was trying to like look them up as we were going. um i'm I'm honestly intrigued by the Among Us story. I'm not big into them.
Speaker: I don't like lying. i know you can just play and be honest. just don't i don't. I get stressed out playing that game. i just want to go do my do my little quests and then hide be goofy. That's all I want to do.
Speaker: So they wanted to get to the like talking phase. and So this it actually kind of intrigued me. So that that's interesting to me. um the Too Deep to Quit. I love seeing more games that are like, I don't know, kind of peak like. This sounds fun.
Speaker: um i'm in um I've been looking for a pirate game Windrose maybe. I don't know. I would have to look into it a little bit more. um And then, i don't know Wild Heart also kind of has tweaked my interest. Been trying to like find good co-op games recently that a bunch of like different people enjoy and sometimes hard to find the right one. Fair.
Speaker: um Yeah, no. ah This is cool. Yeah. the fact that they all had demo. Yeah, I noticed that among the longest story you had. All of them, demos or early play tests are out for like nearly every game that was announced here as well, which is just super awesome to see. So if you wanted to see if a game was right for you, you could just jump in right now.
Speaker: Yeah. ah Moving on to our next headline, RuneFest took place, which is the big RuneScape convention that happens, which I didn't even know RuneScape had a convention.
Speaker: ah But it goes to show what I know. i feel like at this point I should just realize that every massive MMO has their own convention. ah What we got announced, Jagex is working on RuneScape 4, another and MMO set in the RuneScape universe, and they're also set to get at an animated adaptation for RuneScape.
Speaker: It's coming from Lyrical Animation, a division of independent film production company, Lyrical Media. Which is interesting because there's a lot of ways you could obviously do tell a story about an MMO because I don't know what RuneScape's story even is, if it even has a story.
Speaker: ah In Halo news, ah somebody has gotten the Xbox version, the original Xbox version of Halo Combat Evolved running in a web browser with multiplayer and split screen support.
Speaker: Software developer Mitchell Hines is behind bringing Halo to the web browser as he posted on X ah that this version of the game features Plistic Co-op multiplayer up to 128 players. my gosh. He's currently running a Cloudflare-powered website to host the port, which is the original version of Combat Evolved.
Speaker: And people, I think it amassed like half a million people in like a day or a week since he launched it. Wow. Which is absolutely insane.
Speaker: But kind of cool too. Yeah. What the heck? Yeah. So it now it's just a question on if he can do that with the original Halo 3 as well. Because I feel like, like original Halo is one thing, but like, I feel like Halo 3 is the peak of like, everybody would go nuts for that.
Speaker: So very, very cool. it it's It can't, like, it anything is above campaign evolved, so in my opinion. Like, ah so we encourage that.
Speaker: i Speaking of that, Activision, according to Rebs Gaming, is considering making the next Halo game a hard reboot centered on Master Chief's origin story.
Speaker: Oh, my God. Yeah. Well, I guess Jackson, said I feel like a good question for you is what are your thoughts on Activision getting now having the reins to the next Halo? There's a ah ah good saying of um like when you've hit rock bottom, the only way that you can really go is up.
Speaker: I like to think that it truly can't get any worse than what we've been, what we've been dealing with in the Halo sphere. ah if they do another yet another ah Halo Combat Evolved style game where it's the beginning or something, i'm going to eat glass, I think.
Speaker: Oh my god. According to a report from MP1st that's since been corroborated by VGC, Naughty Dog plans to bring back the Uncharted series after it finishes its current game, Intergalactic, The Heretic Prophets.
Speaker: Yeah, if they ever finish that game. Yeah, if they ever finish that game. we we They announced it, and we haven't heard any details in how many years now? what What is up with... what ah can we can we get like stop like teasing Honestly, you know... i Nintendo's doing it right right now. they like They won't give you... It's annoying, but it also is great. like You won't hear anything for months, and then they just drop something, and going to come out in three months. Can we stop teasing something, and it's like not going to come out for forever? I think Nintendo learned after Prime 4 got that massive delay, and I think they learned from that of like, yeah, we're not going to...
Speaker: Pokemon can do its own thing, but like all of our titles will be announcing, we'll drop a teaser if it's coming out the following year, or we'll actually like give you like proper trailers if it's coming out within the year. Yeah.
Speaker: I mean, there's there's fairness. like Nintendo's big big company has ability to just kind of like, they know their fan base will come to them, but like I don't know. Very fair.
Speaker: ah Apparently, PUBG was working on an extraction shooter, but that's been officially canceled. Crafton halted the development on that. It was called PUBG Black Budget.
Speaker: And honestly, I'm fine with that. I think there's an... ah I think... that we're catching the oversaturation of the extraction shooter earlier than we did with the oversaturation of battle Royales.
Speaker: So good. the like The fewer extraction shooters there are, the better, in my opinion. Absolutely. In case you missed it, the Lego PlayStation is now officially out. You can now build another Lego console.
Speaker: if you if you're If you're into that. And Pearl Abyss announced the Charting the Unknown expansion. ah that That will for ah black Black Desert. ah God, what was it called?
Speaker: Yeah, Black Desert? No. Crimson Desert. Anyway, its expansion is getting delayed from October 15th to October 29th. So you'll have to wait another two weeks before playing the new expansion.
Speaker: ah With more Xbox news, a system update rolled out in the early hours of September 30th, implementing the highly anticipated disc-to-digital feature for all Series X and Xbox One owners.
Speaker: ah Specifically, to digitize the physical Xbox disc you inserted into the console, um If there's any issues, there's a button that you can hit to claim the digital license. And basically, boom, you have the digital license for that game. You don't have to have that disc in your Xbox now to play said game.
Speaker: And basically you can do this with all of your physical media, put it in, register a digital license, and boom, you can play them whenever you want without having the disc in there, but you can still play it with the disc in the console as well.
Speaker: ah It isn't bound, the licenses aren't bound to your account as it can expire or be revoked if the disc is put into a different console. And I believe it's like if it's put into a different console and then somebody else tries to take that license, then the license then goes to that console.
Speaker: I believe it's like if you still just put that disc in, it doesn't do anything, but I might be wrong about that. So double check that, but I believe it's just, it's so you can have a digital license on your console and you can hand off the game to somebody else to play it. But like double check that.
Speaker: More with Xbox. A lot of Xbox news this week. They have officially revealed Mythic Achievements. Now, we did talk about this last episode where it was like leaked to that these are possibly coming. And it's official. Mythic Achievements are the Xbox's version of PlayStation's Platinum Trophies.
Speaker: So now there's something further that Achievement Hunters can go now go for on the Xbox side of things. As for whether it adds any more gamer score, I do not know.
Speaker: But it's still kind of cool that Xbox finally has something like the Platinum Trophy. I still think Platinums are cooler, though. It's okay. we'll get ah We'll get that on the Switch 3 for Nintendo. God! ah Maybe Switch 4. I mean, i don't know. They're so slow with that, Jeeva.
Speaker: Yeah. A new indie game, a sequel to a game about digging a hole was announced. It's called A Game About Digging a Hole Together. This time, instead of digging in your backyard to find some treasure, you're digging holes on the beach with your friends.
Speaker: That's great. That's awesome. I will say i i have watched somebody play a game about digging a hole. I played it. if You have? i did. i played it last year i played it when it came out last year. Wait, that's awesome. it's I did. and You know, it's a de it's a a decent little game. It's nothing crazy.
Speaker: You know what? I think this is actually a fun time. And if it's priced right, I think it would be ah a good like day or two with friends, depending on how long y'all play together. Wait, there's a game about chopping trees.
Speaker: Yeah, there's a lot there's a lot of those types of games out. Anyway. ah In PlayStation game news, the Wolverine game has added an update to allow you to turn off Wolverine's Blue Scent Trail in case you were still getting mad about that.
Speaker: which honestly, I just started playing Wolverine. And guess what? It canonically makes sense. And it's actually kind of been helpful because I've gotten lost a couple of times because I go off the beaten path to find collectibles.
Speaker: And oh, look, that blue set, it just stays in its place. It doesn't move to like follow you everywhere everywhere you go. But when you find it's like, oh, there, I can now now remember which way I'm supposed to go.
Speaker: Fucking Christ, people that bitch about anything. that That is wild that is being bitched about. That's crazy. Forza Horizon 6 has been delayed 2027 for the PlayStation version of the game.
Speaker: Hytale is in the news as its biggest update was recently announced, the Chapter 1 update, and it's set to release on October 12th. Eveningstar is working on a revival of Ape Escape for Sony Interactive Entertainment. ah Eveningstar being the team that designed Sonic Mania, ah they also did ah Penny's Big Breakaway as well a couple years ago.
Speaker: Netflix is in the gaming news circle as they are releasing a new interactive game set in the universe of The Conjuring called The Conjuring Unspoken. It's being developed by Supermassive Games and it becomes available October 13th.
Speaker: So interesting to see, but it is being done by the developers of the Until Dawn games. So it's an interesting one because i Do not like Netflix games. I think it's a dumb service, but this might be an interesting game because it's being done by a proper game studio.
Speaker: I feel like for, for, yes, like for Netflix games, they're going to do stuff, it makes sense to do stuff like that, where it's like until dawn kind of things like dispatch or something like that, where it's like, it's going to make sense because you're, it's more of like a interactive, like TV show kind of thing.
Speaker: ah Lastly, with the headlines, Grand Theft Auto 6's radio stations have been revealed officially by Rockstar. um As for what we're getting, i don't know if this is the full list, but these are the ones that I showed off. Cocotail FM, which will play modern Latin music.
Speaker: Backcountry Radio, the country station. AfroBank FM will be playing Amapiano, African Classics, 3-Step, and more of those types of genres. ah The Chamber 106.6 is metal music and all the rock music from the 80s, 90s, and beyond.
Speaker: Flash FM is your pop radio station and Dirty Sound Classics is your rap and hip hop station. And they also have a website set up right now for you to listen to official snippets online so you can get a feel for the host dancer that they have in between because they do treat these like real radio stations when you're in the game and whatnot. ah So you can get a bit of a taste of ah that as well. And as for who some of the announcers are, as I was reading this, Bad Bunny is going to be one of like the radio jockeys for the Latin station.
Speaker: ah Good for now. Yeah. All right. ah Moving on to ongoing game news, starting off with some MMORPG news. The Final Fantasy XI free trial has expanded finally. It's now official. it's now taking place. You now have unlimited playtime up to level 75. You can build three characters and you can play through the entire base game of FF11.
Speaker: ah Now this does come with limits and restrictions like 100,000
Speaker: ah And other restrictions like housing or trading or joining parties or making friends, et cetera, et cetera. ah But it's not too bad. And then if you're done with the base game, Chains of Promafia is supposed to be like the best expansion. And it's like the next expansion for the game.
Speaker: So if you like Eleven's base game, then you can jump right into Chains of Promafia and but get yourself the sub. ah Moving on to FFXIV news, the Fall Guys collab is back once again in FFXIV and is running until the 27th of October, which is also when it's probably theorized that the Final Fantasy VII collab event, adding the new typing minigame to the Gold Saucer, will take place.
Speaker: And also the All Saints Wake will be coming to FFXIV October 15th to November 2nd. This is their Halloween event. The seasonal rewards you can get this time is a bear outfit and more furniture.
Speaker: In a Fortnite Epic Games news, Fortnite Nightmares is back once again for the Fortnite Halloween season. And they have teased Nightmare on Elm Street, Beetlejuice, Five Nights at Frays, and Obsession all coming to Fortnite.
Speaker: as well as Hollow Knight, Has-Bin Hotel, and The Predator. In TCEG news, starting with Pokemon Mega Evolution, Delta Rains releases on November 8th.
Speaker: In Yu-Gi-Oh! news, Beyond the Brave is out now. Magnificent Maestros comes out November 13th, and Glorious Victors on December 4th. With Magic the Gathering news, Reality Fracture is out now. Star Trek drops on the 20th of November. And we have our first look at some of the 2027 drops.
Speaker: Noctis, the Sunken Realm, will be dropping on February 5th. Kamigawa Titan Breach on June 4th. And Zalfir on October 1st. There are also three or four Universe Beyond sets that they have not announced yet, but they do have the timeline for, as they have posted like the next...
Speaker: next year's timeline for Magic the Gathering. Also, Magic of the Gathering boosters are getting updated and they're adding godpacks to all of their booster boxes.
Speaker: You have a 1 in 1,000 chance to get a godpack in normal booster boxes and a 1 in 300 for the collector booster boxes. In Lorcanum news, Hyperia City drops on October 23rd. And in the Digimon TCG, Chivalrous 13 is out now. Starter decks for Elysian, Yukinamon, and Rubiusdramon drop on December 3rd. And Ignition of X will be releasing on December 11th.
Speaker: And that is everything from the week in review. Any final thoughts on any of those stories, guys? No. and and This is the first time I'm hearing a lot of this So, ah I mean, the Magic the Gathering stuff, I've something a little bit into it. And you just gave me another reason to want to start spending all my money on that. so Dude, I recently, i got it back into TCGs this year. um I have spent probably over $1,500 on booster boxes for the final fantasy set alone.
Speaker: Because that's i'm I'm trying to master set that one. Yeah, that's that's fair enough. I i got into the Marvel one. and i heard Yeah, that's... Yeah. Oh, like the Marvel card?
Speaker: Yeah, there's like yeah there's there's a Spider-Man set and the Marvel set now. Yeah. Oh, within Magic to the Gathering. Within Magic, yeah. within Okay, okay. Yeah, the universe is beyond Not the separate Marvel card.
Speaker: yeah Yeah, no, because I believe there's both like a separate Marvel card game and a Final Fantasy card game too, which is, there's a tc there's a TCG for everything. It's crazy. There's a One Piece one. Yeah. It's crazy. crazy. There's a TCG for everything and like the main ones now are like if you were to ask somebody what the core TCGs are they would probably tell you Pokemon Yu-Gi-Oh! Magic, Lorkana, One Piece and maybe Arcane.
Speaker: but which is the League of Legends. ah Dang. Or no, Riftbound. It's called Riftbound. Riftbound, okay. Arcade is the show. You silly guy. i I'm silly.
Speaker: um I don't know. Hytale, haven't played it yet, but I am intrigued by their... ah attempt to make something different that's like kind of like the similar like looks and similar kind of gameplay voxel based it's very it's voxel based which is whole comparison All right. Well, with that, it's time for us to now look ahead at game releases.
Speaker: And here are all the games that should be on your radar from October 12th to 23rd. From AAA titles, indie hits, hidden gems and hot pieces of garbage. Here are the games coming out that should be on your radar. And kicking it off, here we go.

One Piece Grand Gourmet comes the Switch 1 and 2 PC and mobile devices. And Warrior Cats Clans of the Forest comes out on everything.
Speaker: And those are all your releases for the next two weeks.
Speaker: As for some of the bigger games that I'm excited for, Planet Zoo 2 is one that I am looking forward to. I hope that is a bit more streamlined and easier to understand and follow than the first Planet Zoo.
Speaker: Because I love Zoo Tycoon type games and I wanted to like the first one, but I just couldn't. Uh, so here's hoping I can get into Planes 2 a bit more. Uh, Valor Mortis is that new first person game, where you, uh, you're French and, uh,
Speaker: and that's it yeah it's it's it's like Dark Souls French first person ah you you're like working you're like part of Napoleon's army Napoleon's your leader and whatnot it' is good it's got a lot of trailers so that's why it's like one of the bigger games um if you're a fan Warhammer 40k you're also a fan of Doom Boltgun 2 is basically Warhammer Doom Uh, it's got this very cool pixely art style, uh, similar to Doom. Uh, so definitely check that out if you're into that. Uh, Castlevania, Belmont's Curse, new Castlevania game looks good.
Speaker: Uh, check that out. Uh, Jackbox 12. Everyone loves Jackbox. They've only had one really bad pack. Uh, so 12 is looking to be good with another set of five whole brand new games.
Speaker: Um, What else? What else? Oh, stupid never dies. Oh, I'm i'm im very excited for stupid never dies. It is a roguelike game where you play as a zombie named Davey who eats a Phoenix egg gains abilities and is trying to save a frozen girl in a freezer that he fell in love with.
Speaker: Final Fantasy Resonance is the latest Final Fantasy game, the first HD 2D Final Fantasy game, um and takes a lot of inspiration ah from Brave XVS, the now-canceled mobile game that ended service a cup a year ago now or something like that.
Speaker: ah Switch Sports Resort as well. It's 12 more sports back on Woohoo Island, and you can fly free roam, you can skateboard free roam, and you can um wait wait wait ah jet ski free ah What about you guys? What are some of the games you're looking forward to within the next two weeks?
Speaker: Not Warhammer Bullcon, because going against the grain here, the first one sucked. um Warhammer Survivors, which is the ah top-down, like, um how would you describe it? Like a Realm of the Mad Gods style Warhammer game or a Binding of Isaac style. Oh, gotcha, gotcha. A roguelike Warhammer? Something like that. Yeah. Yeah. that's cool ah You're, you're, you're, you're Malon Kato. You're a ah guardsman for 40 K and then you're a storm gas eternal and somebody else in for the age of Sigmar side of it.
Speaker: And I'm more intrigued by that than bolt gun. Cause bolt gun sucks. And I will die on that hill. What about you, Ninja Frog?
Speaker: um i Honestly, I didn't know about the Stupid Never Dies. That looks interesting. And when you described it, I was like, oh, okay.
Speaker: I mean if you watch the reveal trailer, it just it feels like the reveal trailer feels like a Machine Gun Kelly music video, which is absolutely hilarious. Yeah. and then But like if you actually watch the gameplay, it actually looks like a really fun game.
Speaker: Yeah. No, it it looks it looks really fun. um the I didn't know Castlevania is only $30. So, never played a Castlevania game? Maybe?
Speaker: might pick it up? I don't know. I've been interested. ah i love zoos. I am never super into tycoon games. But, I don't know. We'll see. I kind of...
Speaker: It does look cool. don't know. I may have to, if you pick it up and play it, I may have to like watch you see, ah see how it is and think about it. Cause tycoon games are daunting to me. i look ah like, I like them if they're good, like two point museum. I mean, you saw my addiction to two point museum. Yeah.
Speaker: uh which also two point museum just released its latest dlc which i was saying they should just make as a base game but they made it fucking dlc they made a role of an amusement park dlc for museum and like well i'm happy that that's a thing i'm like they could have just made two point theme park and i would have i would have eaten it up i would have given them more money two point please i still want you to make like a full zoo or team park game please please ah begging here i'm begging please for tony uh they also added a new digit a couple new digiverse um exhibits as well uh collaborating with uh the most recent one is little kitty big city
Speaker: The only other thing I had thought about was i may not jump on it, but I just love seeing other games that are like it like the thank you bus driver looks like papers, please. But like you're a bus driver.
Speaker: Oh, I think I may be misinterpreting it, but it's, that's what it seems like. Take it on the role of a town's rough rules, driven and reckless bus driver. And thank you, bus driver, drive fast, slap, slap faster and toss in your old Lakers out of your bus to reach true victory being appreciated.
Speaker: Oh, yo, that's actually, I'm looking at this right now. This looks so, so he yes, it pulls out a fucking map. Yeah. Okay, hold on. i like I might get this now. Hold on. I'm going to wishlist this.
Speaker: Hold on. that That looks so interesting. Nice. Very cool. Very cool. I think I know the one that I am picking up for sure is Switch Sports Resort because I will be playing that right away because ah I mean, I just yeah this is the nostalgia for Woohoo Island with the original Wii Sports.
Speaker: is strong on this one. And the fact that the flight controls are nearly identical to what they are with the island flyover. Thank God. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. I don't know. I haven't... i will say I watched... I'll have to watch it again. I watched the overview trailer today because it was on Nintendo Today. And i don't know. there' is There's a lot of like extra stuff that's in there.
Speaker: But um i'm I'm like... You know, Wii Sports Resort had so many more sports. and And they took the way sword fighting from me.
Speaker: i i just, I don't get it. So hopefully they like add free updates. Yeah, you know and yeah we did see them do that with Switch Sports. Okay. was They did add like two additional sports through free updates.
Speaker: So maybe we'll hopefully see for them to expand some life into the game, some free updates, adding some sports back. like Obviously, sword fighting would be great. I mean, they had it in um Switch Sports in a sense with, what was it, Chambala? It's okay.
Speaker: uh but like it was very different it was more that that one felt more like oh fencing because it's like you hit your opponent once that's a point yeah it was very much just a block look for the opportunity and strike type thing uh whereas sword fighting you can just go ham and whatnot so funny you know that would be cool to see that brought back um And then, like, I feel like you could do so bring cycling back as well. But you got skateboarding, so it's like, I don't really know if, like, you really want to bring cycling back. Like, you could. Like, that you could.
Speaker: You don't necessarily need it. It would just be, like, another another traversal across WooHoo Iron, basically. like i'd Like, they could easily do some free updates to add a couple of the sports that were in the original or ones, even.
Speaker: ah But, like... we we We just don't know yet. And we won't know until the game is out and the beyond the lifetime of it it goes beyond. i will say i'm I'm glad to see like they're adding like little small updates that are like helping you making it easier to like make a me and that's kind of cool. I hope like I love that to be there not even just installed but just because like I'm okay with the way these like generic looking characters look but like being able to like
Speaker: the the way the me's look from the wii and be able to put that back on here it's just it's so good so um i love that just in time for this game all right well with that is now time for us to dive into our main focus of the week here is what we're talking about this week in the game lounge Conversations of past and future games, the state of the gaming industry, how big decisions affect gamers and anything else that's important to us. Here's what's going down this week in the Game Lounge.
Speaker: And of course, it wouldn't be an episode with our Destiny Insider if we didn't talk about Destiny 2. And with everything that's been happening with Destiny 2 this year, and us finally getting a hold of our Destiny Insider, I feel like now is the perfect time to talk everything Destiny 2.
Speaker: Jackson, I'll give the floor to you on where you want to start. I don't even know where to begin. um My life with this game has been like, you know how like there's the meme of Brendan Fraser's the whale where it's like,
Speaker: you know, X don't even ask you for something anymore. They just look at you like this and it's Brendan Fraser in the will. And he's like in the fat suit crying. It's like destiny two fans just don't even, just don't even have hope anymore. They just look at you like this. Um,
Speaker: I'll start back with, ah so like, okay, Final Shape was great. Final Shape was so good. was so good, dude. um And what was it? Like all their episodes after that, they were fine, i guess. And like, I'm not going to really get into it because we'll be here all fucking day. with each and every single piece of content. um But like the 2025 year or no 2024 and 2025 first half year of content for Destiny 2 was really, really good, my opinion. um
Speaker: And then and then Edge of Fate came out. And oh, my God. my God. like People want to clown on Lightfall for ruining the game? No. Edge of Fate did way worse damage to um the game, in my opinion. if They completely fucked.
Speaker: fuck everything and the loot chase the the new destination kepler it was terrible it looked like a cyst on someone's ass like that's what that destination looked like a giant cyst um and what was it um there was just like nothing to do the raid was amazing i will say the raid was fantastic um
Speaker: I'm forgetting the name of the update that came out after that. Oh yeah. Ash and iron was the season after.
Speaker: Edge of Fate. I forgot the name too. and And there you go, right? So Ash and Iron came out and it was a whole lot of nothing. it was We went back to the Plaguelands, but without the SIVA stuff. So what's even the point?
Speaker: um exotic Exotic Mission was fine. You got the the Iron Lord Axe. Like, okay, that's cool, whatever. And then Renegades came out. Star Wars DLC. You got to wield the lightsaber. Like, ah my thoughts are...
Speaker: uh or that renegades was is probably the best five out of ten product you will ever get but but i i i didn't mind it honestly like i was like okay cool this exists sweet and then what was it may 21st or something like that they announced an end of service for destiny 2 yeah I cried.
Speaker: Like I, yeah I'm not even being hyperbolic here. I was sitting because I was sitting in my, it at the shop at my work.
Speaker: And I was prepping pipe and I saw the article, tears down my face, crying. And a bunch of guys at work were like, dude, grow up. I'm like, you don't understand. Like these guys are like hockey, right? And I'm just like, imagine if the Edmonton Oilers just announced that they stopped playing.
Speaker: Okay, like that's what I'm dealing with right now. And they all understood. They're like, oh my God, they're there. They're there. They're there. My boy.
Speaker: Monument of Triumph, the last update for Destiny 2. has been the best thing that has ever happened to that game. I am not kidding. Wow. it It is. So they did the Pantheon mode. They did it, made it so that all of the dungeons had like tiered loot and stuff like that. Tier five is the whole stat system thing. That's part of how they, that's part of the fucking of the game when edge of fate came out was tiered loot, but they needed to do something with the loot. I'm like, you can go around in circles with how you, how they, how they wanted to do that, which is whatever. Yeah.
Speaker: um And so Tony Ikami had a really good time, right? So they announced, the new leadership of Bungie have announced that they're going to be unvaulting all of the old Sunset DLCs that they have yeah um um gotten rid of.
Speaker: Yeah, and this is this is a big deal because you and I even talked about like why that content was vaulted in previous episodes because the code was so fuck fucked up. And they probably wouldn't bring it back anytime soon as well. so now like what that means is like so they're not going to be able to bring back every single piece of content like ever made yeah um i believe seasonal content is still like one and done they're not doing which which makes sense that's kind of how seasonal content plays in all mmos you don't oh yeah and like dude holy moly like
Speaker: Like where, how, what, let's say you're the very first, you you play Destiny for the first time and you have 29 seasons to catch up on and store it for story content.
Speaker: like i would put I would put a shotgun in my mouth if I had to deal with all that. or You know what I mean? i played I played through all the damn content, right? I'm the Destiny insider, okay? I'm the guy on the fucking cover, right? 71 titles under my belt. I'd like to see you try, you LARPer. I'm the guy. No, nonsense. But being said, if I had to do that all over again, but it just just put me down. Put me out of my history. Because I don't want to do that all over again. and no And you know what? I feel the exact same way when it comes to Final Fantasy XIV. If you were to tell to to to hold a gun to to my head and say, hey, play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn to the end of Dawn Trail right now.
Speaker: I probably wouldn't. Not because it's bad. like One, it's it's because I would have to do it all again on a character that, like, because if you look at my character, I have nearly every class leveled up. I have so many mounts, minions, titles. I have so much progress on my main character that I don't want to do anything on any alt characters aside from make them look pretty and play dressed up like most other people do.
Speaker: Yeah. And so anyway, like this update came out and they added it back Callus, Argos and the other guy, Insurrection Prime from Leviathan and Eater of Worlds and Scourge of the Past respectively.
Speaker: And here's the best part is that like, so with this unvaulting of content, they're going to be bringing back all those old raids. Now, my hope and and this is like a big hope, but like
Speaker: I really, really hope that they bring back things like menagerie, black armory stuff, all that jazz, because holy man, those were incredible. I would love like some odd activities like the sundial. Um,
Speaker: What was another really, really good one? um The Reckoning and stuff. I like the Reckoning. no a lot of people didn't. That was it like you people don't won't even know what I'm talking about. Yeah, that's how I don't even know what that one is. Reckoning. Yeah. Anyway, it's just like some odd, some odd one off bits of like content and stuff from like seven years ago that I would if I could play that again, i would like tears of joy.
Speaker: um now so
Speaker: Here's the thing. So once they're done this, they have plans or or this is my understanding of it. Yeah. So like once everything gets unvaulted, what are the plans afterwards? So by the sounds of it is like, they're either going to do two things or gather going to make the DLC for destiny to again, still, however, not at the cadence that they, that they had in mind, like before, like where it was a a big annual expansion and then four seasons and then at the annual expansion and then four seasons yeah and then so on and so forth. That wasn't sustainable, which is like, why were they doing it? But anyway, um,
Speaker: what i What I think is that they're going to do the Blizzard approach where it's going to be like every two years we'll get like a freaking huge expansion. It's going to start actually treating it like an MMO with how it gets its updates.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah. So like, and if that's the case, that's fine, because I think that the biggest problem with the game was that there was just so much so the the the the paste was so breakneck that you needed to treat it like a job in itself.
Speaker: And then you got like losers like me who ah who make it their lives when they're not working or doing anything else. Right. So Like me, I destiny two is the only game I played for like six years. And now that the contents done, like I got my I got the Salvation's Edge title, the final shape rate title.
Speaker: And i kind of like stopped playing for a little while. I can't even believe I said I like wow, that words came out of my mouth. I stopped playing for a little while, um like ah like a couple months.
Speaker: Um, obviously hopping on like my brothers, they still kind of play, I'll play with them to help them out with a dungeon and stuff like that. But I just kind of like, I'm like, okay, no, I'm, I'm good. Like I, I did it. Like I can't believe I did it.
Speaker: And then, and then, you know, they announced, uh, oh yeah, we're bringing back content. So naturally I had to do my, oh my God. Oh, say it ain't so well, I got to start preparing. Like, what do I got? What am I doing here? So I'm doing everything all over again.
Speaker: I'm grinding for God rules again and I'm doing all this stuff. And so ah to add it to add ah to add a little bit of extra flavor, I got so bored playing on my account because I got everything again.
Speaker: that during the Steam Autumn Sale, I went onto my wife's Steam account, and I bought all the DLC, and I'm currently playing through everything and regrinding everything so that I can... So that I can have something to do again.
Speaker: And this is me coming off the back of, like, like i beat I think I beat the most... Like, I'm reading... I started reading books again. Like, I've read, like, seven books this year because I'm not playing Destiny.
Speaker: Like, I... i'm getting up on my back level like and then and like all this amazing stuff is is happening to me like i'm working a lot more and then all this great stuff i'm like oh my god cool and then they're like oh yeah hey by the way destiny's not done and we're gonna bring back old content and whatever so i'm like oh great so my life is ruined again Both aside, though, I believe that they'll either be doing more DLCs at a different cadence or they'll just straight up be doing Destiny 3. But we are still years away from if it is a Destiny 3 situation. I will be. But how old am I right now? Let me check my phone. I'm 27. I'll probably be 37 when Destiny 3 comes out. So that's You think it'll be another 10? Actually, yeah. that Well, I don't know if it would be 10 years.
Speaker: Well, let's, so I'll paint the, I'll paint a bleak picture for you. But then again, like, we don't know the rate of which of the unvaulting will take place. We don't know how long it'll take or of that stuff. And it does the stuff there unvaulting, it's Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, Forsaken?
Speaker: Yeah, Forsaken, and then like all of the raids, like Leviathan, Eater of Olds. Everything in between that, yeah. But that's yeah that' that's the those are the main things that, from what I understood, that they're unvaulting.
Speaker: And all of the um the side quests too, like the sleep the old sleeper simulant exotic missions and stuff like that. like ah ah the guy Excuse me, they got the old... um like They got Whisper of the Worm and stuff like that back in the game, right? So like those missions exist. Oh, and we're not talking... to we're We're also forgetting about... like okay, all the strikes that yeah were associated with those planets and all of the um exotic quests and stuff. Will they be bringing back all the adventures? Probably not because some of them were pretty irrelevant.
Speaker: All the adventures were like side stories in the game, just one off little things. And then um what else? Like, um
Speaker: I'm drawing a blank here. Um,
Speaker: yeah like so we don't really know the full i'm just whatever yeah we we don't really know like seven what's being unvaulted but we can probably assume that's gonna be the core the core story stuff of for obvious reasons yeah the core side content realistically yeah which would make the most sense my biggest fear is that like all of these like say for example like this this the um black armory title blacksmith comes back um ah or like shadow for um what's it called crown of sorrow um all these old raids and stuff i'm my biggest fear is that those raids have their titles come back because i know that if i have to regrind those
Speaker: My wife is probably going to divorce me. So I'm very, very, very nervous that those are coming black because like I'm addicted, right? You know what? I'm a little, we do a little bit of addiction with that game. So we do a little bit of addiction. We do a little bit of addiction. So and, and me, I've got like nine out of the 10 raid titles right now. And like Iconoclast, the last one, nearly um Nearly made me want to jump in a hole and be buried alive because of how hard that one was. But we did it. We did it.
Speaker: And I am the guy on the cover, like I said, because of it. So just I'm not everybody else is a LARPer, not me. The only person that can beat me in a fight is probably Scarrow Nine. But yeah.
Speaker: that's That's not... the the i He has yet to reply to me, so I don't know. um Destiny 2 is in an interesting state right now after a year of like, like, let's say just being hit in the head repeatedly over and over and over again. Like you just don't know what's going on after like the time being hit in the head. You're not even, ah you're probably dead, right? Like I've been dead for like the past year, like just dealing with all this stuff. And I just am glad that my favorite game has a future again.
Speaker: and um I don't even really want to talk about the story leaks and stuff that that have happened because there's been so much in all my stuff. ah Harkening back to the Lightfall episode where I thought of like, I was onto something about how there was like a whole thing about Lightfall being like,
Speaker: just this like cut content, like hodgepodge fuck fest, throw that all out the window because it was completely wrong, all of it. And so I'm not even going to talk about the stories stuff that they had in mind.
Speaker: um However, i will say this. They left this story on a very interesting note where the basically the be all end all true enemy, because like the witness is just a guy, right?
Speaker: Yeah. um um And a fantastic raid boss, by the way, just saying. The witness is just a guy. Now, we have never seen the true darkness guy himself, the winnower, I think.
Speaker: And he was teased to be the true be all end all villain of the franchise in this update, in this past update. And um we had a brief conversation with him, our character.
Speaker: And ah in in essence, this winnower fella, don i don't think I very much like him. He says, ah you know, get hungry because you and I are going to fight one day and it's going to be cool.
Speaker: The showdown at the end of time between dark and light. And you better be here for it. And it's like, OK, cool. say that Say it ain't so right at the end when nothing's going to happen. so so anyway, I'm hoping that that picks up again.
Speaker: Lots of story threads to to continue off of. um You know, Hive stuff, the Vex, Fallen's pretty done and done and dusted, whatever the term is.
Speaker: uh, Caval is just whatever. They're, uh, they're storm troopers now. And, um, I, I, I don't, I, I, I'm just thinking of, uh, the next dungeon run I got to do on my wife's account. now That's awesome. I don't even, i don't even, I was case. Sorry. Quick little interjection here. i was running vault to glass. I was doing a four man last night. I know that one. one i know that yeah I know that one too And on my wife's account and she had no guns, nothing. We did it. She got fucking vexed the class the very first run. And I'm like, oh, sick. Okay. So I'm, I'm, I'm locked in. because this I do have a question because vault of glass was a D one raid. Is it like a one-to-one with how it was in D one or is it a bit different? when you yeah So, so I'll, I'll elaborate on that a little bit. So, okay.
Speaker: Now, now, They brought three out of the four Destiny 1 raids into Destiny 2. Oh, nice. Multiglass, King's Fall, and Crota's End.
Speaker: Crota's End is my favorite raid in Destiny 2. Okay, so that's all of them but the one from, oh, God. Yeah, Wrath of the Machine. Wrath of the Machine, yeah. Yeah, which is ah oh it's a damn shame because they wanted to do it. then They were really close to doing it. and they just This is when the 2023 layoffs were happening. so they had't um They hadn't gotten started yet.
Speaker: on the realize Do you think with where where things are going, you think there is a chance that they might ah you know with like a future update after things go with the unvaulting that they maybe do that conversion? Yeah. know what it would be a like okay it takes millions of dollars to make a raid in destiny 2 like minimum a minimum a million i should say like it's a they're expensive right and even the d1 remasters they were ah that was a very they were costly endeavors right and they released them for free would it be awesome if they told if they did that absolutely
Speaker: Do I think that they will? i don't know. that if If they did, holy moly. Like, insane work. Because SIVA SIVA Fallen were are completely different than um regular Fallen. Yeah.
Speaker: they're, they're completely coded difference. So they would have to rebuild them from the ground up Oh yeah. Um, ah in, in it, especially in this engine. And so, um, so anyway, uh, to the, to, I digress though. So, yeah um,
Speaker: Back to Vault of Glass. Vault of Glass, right? So Vault of Glass, King's Fall and Crota are very similar to their DLC or deep deep Destiny 1 versions, right? Yeah.
Speaker: However, their mechanics are changed a little bit. Like um what was a gatekeeper or sorry to open the door. It's it's the same um and to do conflicts. It's the exact same. Just just fend off waves of enemies, right? yeah Oracles.
Speaker: instead of shooting oracles, however, like in destiny one, how they just like came about, um, there's a specific order you do them in pull your xenophage and just click on them and, and, and, and whatever order they spawn in. And that's how you do it.
Speaker: Um, Gatekeeper is, I think, the same, but i believe you had to swap back and forth the Vault of Glass like relic a little bit more often. However, I've cheesed the fuck out of that that encounter for like four years, so I don't even really remember how to do it legit.
Speaker: And Atheon, it's just, there's an extra step where you have to shoot oracles in a certain order to um to do ah damage to him, to get to damage.
Speaker: King's Fall is kind of the same boat where, like, I think the biggest difference is that, like, Fogoth, you... Now, don't know if you guys remember, but the common complaint with Fogoth, the big ogre boss in King's Fall, is that if you ran up to him with the unstable light and it exploded, didn't do anything to him.
Speaker: It does something to him now. It does like a decent chunk of damage. And so um what was it? um For God, you do that. You can't one or abstract him anymore.
Speaker: War priest. I don't really remember there being a difference with War priest, but it's been a long time since I played d one ah King's fall. um Deathsingers in deep Destiny 2, I think is like, it's just they change up the plates. And then Oryx is like, you guys remember Oryx, how you had to kill him by doing the bombs?
Speaker: vaguely or i like i never the only one ever like attempted was vault of glass but like i i was so young at that time and it was more of my my raid experience came through watching achievement hunter do the raids oh yeah so oryx you could only damage them by using bombs of light basically whereas now the the bombs are the stun and then you get them stunned and then you do damage to him.
Speaker: And then it's just, it's a little bit more fleshed out. I think, I think D2 or King's Fall is fantastic. And Crota's End.
Speaker: Oh my God, this is my favorite. It's my favorite. Like I said, like it's my favorite raid in Destiny 2 right now where the beginning encounter is like, you have to cycle through the chalice and get everybody buffed and It is so chaotic because this is coming off the back of Ruta Nightmares where one person needed to know what they were doing and everybody else just needed to clear ads. Everybody in in Crota Zen needed to know what to do. And it was amazing.
Speaker: Bridge encounter, you couldn't cheese it anymore. You had to do cycle. you had to cycle buffs and then get everybody across the bridge, kill everything. And then that was good.
Speaker: The Deathsinger encounter is a good one where you have to find ah wizards and kill them in the different towers and stuff like that. And then Crota is...
Speaker: Now, if you guys remember how to do Chrona. Here's the thing. Chrona is the only raid I did in Destiny 1, and me and Preston cheesed the fuck out of it. Yeah, so you can't even really cheese him anymore. So, like, if you recall, you used Gjallarhorn to get his shield down. Well, or you used Gjallarhorn to get his shield down so could do damage to with the sword. Yeah. Well, now it's you cycle buff, cycle Chalice of White buff to get swords, and then you use that to get his shields down, and then everybody just fucking just beat the shit out of them with swords, and it was just...
Speaker: It's just so much fun. It's just so good. in it And when you when you beat that raid and everybody's cheering, it's the best. It's truly like an MMO WoW raid where everybody's got to like charge at them. And it's so cool.
Speaker: But ah Crota is good. Nice. Is very, very good. And I'm very glad I have Swordbearer because... That is a very hard title to get to. So anyway. ah Very nice. Like in in, you know, long story short, interesting place the franchise is. Yeah. And I'm glad has a future again.
Speaker: um And yeah, I'm going to be showing my kids my titles like like my dad would have showed me his fucking rugby trophies from when he was a kid. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
Speaker: So that's not, that's all. and Dad, you say that you're sitting a chair and you've, you've clicked the left click and press the WASD a lot.
Speaker: Wow. Yeah, son, I knew how to use, uh, I knew how to use the Perk Baden switch on my cataclysmic, uh, I knew Izanagi swapping for Garden of Salvation. Yeah, Shepo Foto. You like to throw the football around? Yeah, go get fucked. Okay? You don't even know.
Speaker: i got one last question for you, Jackson. Yes. um So with things being unvaulted, even I said, yo if everything gets unvaulted, I may come back to the game just to do everything in a fell swoop now because it would be from replaying the stuff that I did just to get re-familiarized and then play all the new stuff that I never played.
Speaker: What would be most like three things that you would set tell what what what new things should new players be aware of that would be coming back when things do get unvaulted?
Speaker: Cause we know that there's going to be a big influx of like new and returning players when that does happen. Oh my God. Where do I begin? Well, I would say what would be the three key things that we should be aware of.
Speaker: Okay. Um, so Jesus, i I, okay. That is that that's going to take some time because I don't even really know.
Speaker: Um, The do do not get intimidated by the tiered loot system. It's it it is literally just specs on ah your gun until you hit max level. And then there's always five of them and whatever.
Speaker: Um, You're not going to know ah what's going to go down between expansions because a lot of the story was lost in the seasons. And that's okay. It is not that deep.
Speaker: And is for...
Speaker: it is for ah For Insurrection Prime, it is cap, not ACP, and I will die on that hill. that is Those are the three things. Some real niche gamers will know that third one. Insurrection Prime comes back.
Speaker: ah Oryx is at the the front of the room, not the back. um What else? And for Crota, you do two swords, not three, because three is overkill. You are just wasting time.
Speaker: All right. Excellent. That is, of course, our destiny to report. it That's all everything destiny to that. You should keep you all up to date. Of course, as things do develop, we'll be keeping you up to date here on the podcast. Jackson, thank you for that. As always.
Speaker: Yeah. No problem. Travel is a weird phenomenon that only Michael J. Fox and those that play insert map game here experience. Need time to disappear. Don't worry. That new colony you establish needs a lot of work.
Speaker: Oh, A minor faction that should be easy to fight? This war should be really quick. Oh shit, is that the sun? Map games. One minute, it's the early evening. The next minute, the sun has risen and you have three missed calls from your boss.
Speaker: ah We will now dive into our second topic of the day, and it's a very fitting one. It is 200 episodes in, and the reason ah another big reason we have the guests that we do have on. Jackson, of course, has the record for most appearances on the podcast.
Speaker: ah which How do you feel with that record being ah your title there, Jackson? to Out of all the people, Tony. Out of me? Yeah. ah Like, man, de kate that is okay. We got 72 titles under our belt. yeah um no This is a destiny title.
Speaker: No, for real. Like, I like, okay, jokes aside, obviously, like, I'm quite honored to be the the guy. Yeah. go You know what mean? yeah the The guy with the most appearances on this podcast. like Like I said, I couldn't even believe it. Like, we made the two made it to 200. Yeah. Well, the 200th one. Yeah. you know?
Speaker: yeah So, yeah. Epic. And we also have Ninja Frog on. He's been a seasonal guest ever since we first brought him on. On season four? i have no idea. Yeah.
Speaker: ah But Ninja Frog has been that but also Ninja Frog is on here as well because as a listener point of view, he is one of the few few people that I know that like consistently listens to the episodes when they come out. So it's also good to get like that listener perspective on today's episode from ah Ninja Frog as well.
Speaker: uh boys my first question to both of you when you for when i first brought you on the podcast what were your guys's like thoughts like originally like when i first brought you on the podcast i've talked enough ninja frog you go right ahead mr Um, you know, I think the first time i was kind of like, dude, I get to be on a podcast. I was, ah I don't know. I was kind of excited. I'm not like, I don't do that much content. I've done a little bit of Twitch, um, streaming, but that's about it. So I was kind of excited just to like join in and participate on what you have started to Um, I was kind of,
Speaker: aren't in that way to be able to support that and experience what you'd been working on. so I don't know. It was it was fun. I didn't expect what it was going to be. And yeah.
Speaker: Did you expect that coming onto my podcast one time would lead would you lead you lead you to joining our D&D campaign? ah No, I did not. Oh my gosh.
Speaker: Speed running into ah one discord server call into podcast into D&D campaign. Yeah. Starting as a monk at level 20. Yeah. was It was close to that it know it we that. I don't know if it was level 20 at that point, but it was very close.
Speaker: I think. ah out had I couldn't even tell you. I don't even remember myself. ah Jackson, what about you? What were your some of your original thoughts back when I started this? Because you were, i think, the second guest I actually had on the podcast.
Speaker: Yeah, well, and same deal. Like, I'm like, oh, my God, like, you know, put a nice suit on. I buttoned up my tie and like I had my my my my four or five pages of notes ready just to belt off. Like, i see, you you had included me in on this whole or endeavor when, um like, I was, like, really obsessed with watching, like, Yong Ya and, like, Review Tech USA and stuff and thinking,
Speaker: Man, these guys get it. These guys are so hip. They're so cool. So you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to go on Tony's podcast here as if he's got a billion people listening. And I'm going to dealt off the same opinions that these guys do because I'm in the know, right? EA is bad.
Speaker: And... um Over the time, i just stopped caring. and I just, i'm I'm happy to come on here and belt off an opinion. Say an R word or two. and yeah just And hang out.
Speaker: I am so happy that I'm the Destiny guy that it's just one of those things where it's like, oh, okay, cool. I like coming on here and talking about how bad my favorite game is all the time and how much I love to play it. Yeah. And it's just been a cathartic thing. It's been a nice place to vent.
Speaker: Because what's it? What what is your like clientele here? You got like a Singaporean or something like that that listens to you or something? will be We're in. I haven't even checked recently. like how we're We're like it on every continent now except ah Antarctica.
Speaker: Oh, okay. Well, so, yeah yeah, like the Antarcticans aren't even, like... the Yeah, the penguins aren't even listening, but you know what? the pengu i don't I don't think our podcast is appeals to the penguin audience, which, you know what, fair, maybe I could talk more about ah the fish in Antarctica to bring that penguin viewer base up, but I don't know. I just can't fit it in anywhere. The penguins were playing Destiny 2 until be Beyond Light and Stasis came out, and they're like, okay, no, I don't want to be reminded of home. But um everybody that's in all the continents or whatever, Africa and and whatever, ah they they now know that, um like, yeah, Lightfall was ah what was the the the expansion that had the giant by the i ah giant non-binary robot man and... ah
Speaker: I hated Dragon Ball Z Kakarot because it was ah the exact same Dragon Ball game over and over and over again. And I like to say the R word and stuff.
Speaker: And that's okay. That's okay with me. I like being a niche entertainer to those people. The one person in every single continent that's listening right now. that's That's fair.
Speaker: I'm a little tired. I believe also when I first brought you on, Jackson, you were still slightly doing the streaming game. I was. Yes. Okay. Yeah. So me, it it was, you know what, it was kind of cool because In the back of my mind, I'm like, hey, you and me are doing a similar thing together.
Speaker: i would love to see. i'm i'm thinking Here I am thinking, man, in 2026, twenty twenty six ah um want to see who's at the top between me and Tony. okay who's gonna be who's gonna be um Who's going to be doing this, this the the the bigger entertainer in six years? And like you won by a last time because I'm not even doing anything anymore. yeah and uh i thought that my streams were the shit and uh some of them were some of them weren't and that's okay um a lot of quiet moments oh yeah a little dude dude it still happens to me at times like i got it better because i've learned oh having other people on my streams with me helps fill that silence a bit when i can't think of something to say or the chat is uh
Speaker: Not that active that day, like having more people with you. And that's what I've just adapted my streams to be as well. And it's it's it's worked well and I enjoy it on a lot, man. Yeah, no. Well, like, it you know what?
Speaker: Tony, you made it to 200. Very proud of you. Thank you. And um I'm happy to be here again, as as usual. It will it'll still be a very fun thing to fun and cathartic thing to be a part of. Absolutely. Absolutely.
Speaker: ah Question for both of you now. What are some of your favorite moments that either you've been a part of or when you've listened to the podcast? Favorite moments that have just been through 200 episodes?
Speaker: I would like to start and give a shout out to one of the early episodes. I think it was in season two where I had both Jackson and Mark, another mutual friend of ours on the podcast.
Speaker: And we got to our topic of the day and essentially it became the Jackson and Mark show where they just talked about Star Wars and Dave Filoni for I think a good 30 to 45 minutes with me not having a single input.
Speaker: Tony, I have no recollection of being here. You don't even remember that? I don't even... Okay. Seriously? i could text Mark right now and he probably wouldn't even remember that's funny doing it either. that was it was that long ago. it was That is awesome. know yeah though That one still sticks out to me. It's one of my favorite moments of just pure controlled chaos on this podcast.
Speaker: um what about you guys favorite moments uh just uh that you can remember oh i think the little bit that i did um
Speaker: i wonder if i still have it i think i do it was the stupid bit that i did for your game award oh my god wait i remember that now that that you brought i it i forgot about that You know what? i I was watching the game awards and I completely forgot to because I was going to write down my thoughts as this as the stream was going that the show ended and the Matan Evan thing happened and I'm like, oh my God, wait a minute. I didn't do what I told Tony I was going to do.
Speaker: And so I just spewed out random bullshit about, like, I got, I did the family guy bit where I'm like, now we'll go to our one other guy, Ollie. Ollie, what's the weather like in Destiny 2? Sparse weather. right. Thank you. And if you ah I will, oh, my God. I remember that. Oh, my God. That, I completely forgot about that. That was such a good fucking bit.
Speaker: I you like if I will send it to you if I if I still have it, I have it. I know you still have it. Send it to me because I will play it right here.
Speaker: Hey Tony, we are live on location at the Video Game Awards 2014 and man oh man, it is a banger. I had a few minutes between the Diablo 4 showcase to record this so it just goes to show how fucking important that shit is. But Lightfall, it was revealed, the trailer, it came out and it looked Cool, Tony. a little bit more or less of what we were seeing. You know, the fucking Strand, the green shit, just fucking shooting out. The motherfuckers were shooting their guns at the beat. You know, you're youre by the numbers to Destiny thing. My air fryer is going off in the background. I'm cunted and I got to pee. But you know what? Season 19, it hit with a thud, Tony. People are pissed off. It's just more or less the same upgrade grid. Fucking Anna Bray, she's fixing up Rasputin. He turned himself into a pickle, Morty. Ha ha ha.
Speaker: But anyway, we're to wrap things up here. I believe that the game of the year is going to be announced and it is going to be a SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom, not the remake, by the way. But before we wrap up here, Ollie, what's the weather like in Destiny 2? Space weather! All right, thank you. We are signing out Wakanda Forever.
Speaker: It was insane. That was my favorite thing. Because I whipped that thing up in probably 15 minutes. And I sent that to you. After the show is done here, going look for it. Hell yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. Hell yeah. Ninja Frog, what about you? um You know, I'm scrolling ah through all the episodes trying to find something. And I am...
Speaker: I'm struggling. ah like i There's ah so many episodes that I've listened to and I'm just like... I think what sticks out to me is not necessarily like
Speaker: something specific from one episode, but more that like, I like listening because i get to hear different people's experiences of gaming, be it their niche of they only play um this type of game or they're like super,
Speaker: Like, it's interesting when I am like, I've listened to what, two or three episodes out of like the past 10 that have had like Hollow Knight as their favorite game. i um like I'm like, I'm all for it. I like Hollow Knight, but oh my gosh. It's just like, yeah, stuff like that. Like listening to speed runners on a, and on ah and ah I don't know, we've we'd had like a full couple like,
Speaker: game developers talking about their yeah we yeah we've had we've had one game developer on uh during this entire run through and i still have to find him and break his kneecaps oh d dion if you are listening to this i will find you and break your kneecaps for failing that sonic quiz bro i still owe it to you man your your kneecaps are mine When I see you, it's on site. Fuck this guy. Fuck the guy. Not DS Cole. It's a good joke.
Speaker: Yeah, I think that's what ah sticks out to me always is is just like being able to listen to just different people's experiences with just... With gaming in general, because I think sometimes you're caught up in, like, the people being, oh, you're, if you don't play this, you're not a gamer. If you don't play this, if you're, you, if you hate this game, you're, do you're a silly billy. Like, ah like oh my gosh, dude, whatever. of Like, the one person doesn't, like, Undertale get over it. Like,
Speaker: it's it. I love that different people have their love for different things and it's fun to learn about them.
Speaker: Uh, absolutely. Uh, You guys have now, as before we recorded this episode, I put it out on the official Game Lounge Discord. You can join it in the link in the description of this podcast.
Speaker: I asked, I polled the audience to see if they had any questions for me about the podcast at all. Like, it's the reason why we cut that Q&A section out a couple of years ago when I did have that as like a segment in the bonus level is why I cut it out because we didn't get a whole lot of interaction.
Speaker: I thought, hey, maybe we'll get some interaction on this this time. We did not. Surprise, surprise. But do you guys have any questions for me about the process of any of ah the podcast or just questions about the podcast in general?
Speaker: How the hell do you get a hold of people? God, like dude, when it was the early days. So as a unless a lot of people know, season one and two, it was basically like exclusively by friends.
Speaker: um With maybe the exception, I think season two is where I got like Ryan and Emerald and Traitor on. And that's what that dove into me for season three onward to get more people.
Speaker: ah Originally, it was a lot of... content creators that I was just regulars in. Like, I was a regular in m Emerald's chat. I was a writer regular in Ryan's chat. And it's just like, yo, maybe I'll DM them and see if they'll actually say yes to this.
Speaker: um And they did. and it's because of Ryan and and Trader saying yes initially that that helped me build confidence to cold call streamers.
Speaker: Now, granted, I would have... I watched streamers i to figure out their vibe, figure out if they were like a good fit for the podcast. And 9 out of 10 times, most of them were. And so then i would join their discords, you know kind of kind of grow like a little bit of like that parasocial relationship with them, just be like...
Speaker: Just to be like, just to let it's like, it's not like awkward, like just messaging them out of the blue. ah So it's like a lot of those people in the early, see in that early these early three and four seasons were like people that were like mutuals of the people that I watched and followed.
Speaker: And then as it got beyond that, it became a bit more cold calling of like, oh, I've maybe been in their stream like a couple of times. I wonder if they would be down for this.
Speaker: um And there's maybe been like two or three people that I just straight up cold called. Like there was like no interaction before and it was just a straight message saying, Hey, I'm a podcaster. You want to come on my podcast?
Speaker: And they said, yes. ah Like I believe it was last season, blue water gaming who I brought on to talk about park sim games and all that stuff, which was a fantastic conversation that we had about that.
Speaker: That was a cold call out of the blue. Like they had put their self promo stuff on a mutuals discord page. It was ZAM's discord page specifically. And I looked at their content, watched their content, really liked it, really vibed with it, sent them that DM. And that's how I got them on. And that's kind of how it goes nowadays.
Speaker: Um, When I get new people, it's either people that I've been vibing with for a while, that like, okay, yeah, I got to get you on the podcast now because like we've just been chatting a lot with both content. Let's do it.
Speaker: Or it's like people that are like, oh, yeah, no, I want to get this person on. Like, yeah, I've been in their streams a couple of times, but it's like i need i need to go just DM them and help they're like, oh, hell yeah, that sounds absolutely dope. And that's that that's been the process.
Speaker: Interesting. Well, good to know. Good to know. Ninja Frog, have you got any questions? Yeah. um what's What's some like stuff that has been very enjoyable throughout this process and maybe some stuff that's been grueling or frustrating or not the most enjoyable? Okay, I'll start with ah the grueling ah one.
Speaker: Back when I did Episodes Weekly, that sucked not gonna lie like you could tell like at the start of a season i was like enjoying everything ah you know and all of that stuff you could tell you could kind of tell but like by the end of a season i was drained back when i did like it was i think seasons one through sa like Where it was like week to week, back to back to back, and then I took like two or three weeks off and then went week to week, back to back to back weekly episodes.
Speaker: I hated doing that. i hated doing that. And it wasn't until I lost my voice again, because it's happened multiple times, ah when I had that very long period of time away that I am like, I'm doing this biweekly.
Speaker: And I have not never been happier because now I can cover like I still take I can now take two months off in January and February because nothing ever happens in January and February for gaming news. That's like monumental.
Speaker: And if there is something I can recap it on the first episode back of the season if I need to. ah And then um that way I'm able to get through March all the way to the Game Awards and mark the Game Awards as a season finale as like a hard point every season going forward.
Speaker: And I've loved that ever since because there's more flexibility. I'm able to plan out further ahead with giving myself more time to book people in instead of having to be like, all right, i just finished recording and editing. Now I got a book the the next guest right away.
Speaker: Like, yeah, I still book a lot of guests in advance because that's just how I am and how I be. um Another thing was for a good amount of time, like, it's not that i dislike editing my own podcast, but it's I think you can tell with some episodes where it's like, oh, you can kind of tell that I'm the one editing the podcast and not my actual editor that we now have for the podcast, um which was another great change that I've loved because it lets me now work on the short form content that I started for the podcast because doing short form content for it is fun.
Speaker: i i have I love making those little shorts on YouTube and TikTok now with the from... clips from the episodes. I love doing that. But like when have to edit and do that, it's it's a lot more work than what I like to do. So it's like, I do kind of take a a lot more shortcuts or like maybe leave some things in them. Like I could have cut that out, but like, it's not a big deal. Whereas like when I have like my actual editor, shout outs to my brother who is the editor of this podcast. Now the proper editor is just that he's going through a lot of life things right now. So he won't be editing for the rest of the season ah potentially, but like next season, you'll should, you should be hearing his editing style back once again.
Speaker: yeah, So there's that difference. But like and while i still make sure things sound good, it's like and i do a lot less work on the editing side and maybe keep things a bit more raw than if I was not editing the podcast and just doing shorts.
Speaker: that that's ah That's a big thing of what I've like liked and disliked throughout this process. And also just everybody that I've gotten to meet. ah through this process to everyone that I've had on this podcast as a guest has been great in any way, shape or form. and And again, I said this, I think like last season, the fact that we've only had one guest on this podcast get canceled is astounding.
Speaker: when it comes to this whole like journey, I'm getting to 200 episodes, which I want to say, i admire your commitment and consistency and just like continuing to do it. It's awesome. Thank you. Um, what is like,
Speaker: What has like kept you going and why what makes this like so meaningful, I guess? What is impactful to you from this? wow God. You see, back, if you were to ask me that like six years ago, I would say, oh, I just love audio. I love working with it. I have a passion for this stuff because...
Speaker: You know, I kind of did at that time, you know, fresh out of radio school. It was like the thing that like drove me to even go to radio school after my first round of college.
Speaker: um so But now it's more of just, I like making this content because i love video games a lot. And I love that I can bring voices that big podcasts.
Speaker: and im I'm able to offer a platform to voices who to people who love video games just as much as me. in some way, shape, or form, I'm able to bring a platform for their voice and for them to share it while also keeping people updated on what's going on within the industry.
Speaker: And end goal now, and I've said it before, is I want to be in some shape or form when one day I want to be the next Jeff Keighley.
Speaker: Like, I want to be... on that stage, on the Game Awards stage, introducing world premieres to the world because I just love it. I genuinely just love the gaming media ah and gaming medium.
Speaker: And I want to bring more to it and my own twist. Manifest. You will, Tony. And you know what? When you do, we're going to be riding the Tony game. Exactly! I'm going to be taking the mic from you.
Speaker: when When it comes time to reveal Destiny 3 and you're on the Game Awards stage, I'm going to come on that thing and I'm going to have the mic and ah is is sitting next to Kojima and just being like, guys, hey, that's me on the cover and just point at the...
Speaker: the game I don't know. dude Dude, if I ever got to the Jeff Keighley level and I learned that Destiny 3 would be a thing I'd be announcing, i would make I would fly you up personally to be there at the reveal, and I would have you sit down with the devs as well and like ask them questions, however stupid they would be. I would agree i would do that for you, Jackson.
Speaker: yeah Well, thank you. I absolutely would. Yeah. Uh... well I'll take one more question if there are any. I'm done. I'm good. a a Yeah, did a fun episode, Tony.
Speaker: Thank you. Ninja Frog? What what is like one thing that ah how this... like This is kind of adjacent, but like what is one thing that has you've taken away from this whole experience? like How has it uplifted to your life?
Speaker: Oh. Having scheduled plan is so nice. Because you don't have to worry about what's upcoming in the future.
Speaker: You only have to worry about how well you do with what you're about to do in the moment. That's my biggest takeaway from all of this.
Speaker: simple but yeah I mean that makes sense I think that's like underrated of ah experience for scheduling out things yeah love it yeah to 200 episodes 200 more and 200 more ah With that, we've got one last segment before we call it a night. Let's jump on in to the bonus level.
Speaker: Crazy lists, great deals, and recapping gaming history. It's all here in the bonus level. And to kick it off, we've got Game Clash, which is one of the seasons, or I think we started it last season. It's a new entry to Jackson, at least. ah This is a small entry, a small little tournament of eight specific things.
Speaker: um that we have a theme for every every see every episode. Usually it's based off of like what games the guest likes or something of that like.
Speaker: But because it's 200 episodes, I have picked eight of my favorite episodes that I have done. And I'm going to read you the episode titles and you guys are going to pick ah which one moves on.
Speaker: ah Are you guys ready? Sure. Yeah. All right. Match one, episode 186, the Like a Dragon Yakuza special with Flavorful VT versus episode 160, Sonic X Shadow hitting the gritty with Emerald and Dawn.
Speaker: We got to go with the gritty. Yeah. and I mean, i I'm biased for the the homies. Yeah. All right, that match two, episode 105, The World of VTubing with Tina Chino, which was the very first episode that featured a VTuber.
Speaker: ah Or episode 75, The Meathead of Video Games with Nick Rule, the self-title that he gave himself the second time he was ever on my podcast.
Speaker: The Meathead one could be ah could be there. was a Meathead myself. LAUGHTER um i'm I'm inclined to. I'm inclined to. See? Yeah. yeah i don ah Next up, episode 32, Jackson and Mark's Star Wars special versus episode 149, the subathon special with MF Noah, where I got to record and do the podcast live with Noah during his subathon.
Speaker: Obviously, the one with me and Mark. i problem That's the best one. that i i It was so good, I don't even remember doing it. yeah It has to win. It has to. ah Lastly, match four. Behind the Sonic 06 Curtain with Gordon Ramsay, episode 60, or episode 91, the Nuzlocke Challenge with Squirke.
Speaker: but The fact that you had Gordon Ramsay himself on the show, like that's, that should be just the best one ever. I go with that one too. No, right hes he's great. Yeah. No, Gordon is great. Absolute gem of a dude.
Speaker: All right. Semi-finals episode 160, Sonic X Shadow hitting the gritty versus episode 75, the meathead of video games. Go to me that again. Oh, meathead.
Speaker: Yep. All right. And episode 32, the Star Wars special versus episode 60 behind Sonic 06 with Gordon Ramsay. the the The Star Wars one. Gordon Ramsay isn't strong enough.
Speaker: All right. Episode 75 versus 32, Star Wars versus the meathead of games.
Speaker: I feel like you to go with the Star Wars because there's too many. Yeah, there I'd say and it's a tough it's a tough one. That's a toughie. the The Star Wars one, I think that's got to go with a new one.
Speaker: All right. That means episode 32 takes it as the greatest episode of Tony's Game Lounge of all time. I would be inclined to agree. it's a good time. It's a good time. It's a good piece. If you want to hear what things sounded like back in season two of this podcast, please go and listen to that. It's a, it's, you know what? It's a fun time. Uh, and, uh, everything, but please, please go check out all of those episodes mentioned above. Uh, those are some of my personal favorites. Uh, It's like having like two, four locos. You just do it. You don't even remember doing it the next day. like you just have no reflection of what you did when you listen to it because it's not good.
Speaker: Exactly. Moving on to this week in gaming history from the 12th to 25th. Here's what has some major events that happened in the past. Speaker: Shoutouts to a lot of these games. That's great. yeah I think about that. Shoutouts to Paper Mario being my first game at Christmas.
Speaker: All right, moving on to our seasonal poll, Tony's Game Poll. Every season we have a question that we poll our guests on and we reveal the results at the end of the season.
Speaker: Gentlemen, what sport should Mario play next that he has not played before? this means he That means you cannot use tennis, baseball, soccer, basketball, golf, volleyball, dodgeball, hockey, horse racing, dancing, or the Olympics.
Speaker: um it i Dogfightish. I think should be the best. Wait, that's actually kind of fired. That's actually not a bad one. And because it was in Wii Sports, I will allow it.
Speaker: Dog fighting, where he just bats on a dog. that's not the type of dog fighting I brought you. Oh, you're not talking about piloting a plane? No, talking about fucking illegal, like, sick dogs each other to kill him. Like, that's what I'm talking about.
Speaker: That's not what I thought he was talking about. that Oh my god, bro. ah Is it okay if I put you down for the aerial combat sport instead?
Speaker: just say we'll just maybe Maybe instead we'll just do professional Overwatch. Professional Overwatch. How do you even do that?
Speaker: who it's just your You play as Mario, you sit him down at the computer, and then it just emulates Overwatch. ah You know what? For Jackson, I will count that.
Speaker: yeah okay What about you, Ninja Frog? What sport should Mario play next? I think... With all the most popular sports, I would be surprised if we still never get a American football. i don't I'm not super into it, but I think it would be very a good a very good setting for Mario kind of power-ups and silliness in a sports game.
Speaker: And I think they could do a lot with it. Or rugby. But I think they've kind of touched rugby in like ah one of the Olympics maybe? Hot dog eating would be a really good one too. that a competitive eating, at actually competitive eating kind of goes hard. Yeah. You know what, I'm putting that one as your answer because that one's actually, oh yeah that one would actually be a fun game. Because you could i you could be, you could just like, be like oh yeah, you just got memorize some button patterns, or you could play with motion controls and you just start guzzling some glizzies with the joy cons.
Speaker: we We get like a a Guinness World Book of World Records collab with Mario. And it's instead of the Olympic Games, it's the Guinness World Records Mario. Mario em mario devouring the most amount of Italian sausage in like a minute.
Speaker: That's funny. That would be nice. Your deals of the week coming up, starting off with your free games on Epic until the 15th out of sight and Terrascape are free to get. And from the 15th to 22nd, agent a and bad cheese are free to get.
Speaker: ah For Steam sales, you just missed the Steam Autumn sale. That just wrapped up. Currently, though, however, the EA Sports Football sale is on until the 15th. um With PlayStation Plus, the October games with Plus have been revealed, and you can get them right now and add them to your collection. You've got F-125, Hunt Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force World Brothers 2, which is just Earth Defense Force, but Voxel-style.
Speaker: Your achievement of the week isn't Star Wars Galactic Racer. Might as well buy a new speeder, which is to buy every available part at Hebe Shop within a single visit. Your game of the week is Stupid Never Dies. And as always, our guest game recommendation. Boys, if there was a game old or or new that you would recommend to the audience to play right now, what game would that be?
Speaker: Destiny 2, obviously. Enough said. Yeah. Ninja Frog, what about you? um I'm about to start replaying it just to make sure that my putting this as one of my top games is still true. But I know when I first played it, it was awesome.
Speaker: Witcher 3 Wild Hunt just came out with remastered. And if you got a switch to, you can get the upgrade. Yeah. um I would definitely recommend great RPG. The the combat can be a little clunky, um but the story is great. The side quests are great.
Speaker: Music. It's just an awesome world. I would definitely give that a try. With that, so episode 200 is in the books, gentlemen.
